For those who don't know, one way my gender fluidity manifests, is through name fluidity. Depending on how long you've been following me, you've probably seen me change my name at least once. Etymology is so interesting to me, I'm just too indecisive with too many choices to make a permanent one.

The reason i bring this up on this blog, is because I've been eyeing other names lately, and considering the concept of an omnist name. Similar to the idea of a witch name or changing a name with conversion, except I've converted to everything and nothing (a topic for a future musings post).

Let's call it an "altar" name for now, a name I keep at the altar and is only for religious purposes.

I'd use it for this blog, when I'm veiling, at religious places like quaker meeting, prayer, classes, talking to my tarot decks, writing, stuff like that.

I'm sure this happens to other people, thinking about religion feels much different from when I'm thinking about anything else.

For me, that includes my gender, it's something nonbinary that's indescribably different from any other nonbinary flavor I regularly experience.

So if my spirituality unlocks a secret gender when tapped into, perhaps I should give that part of me - maybe it's my higher self, whatever else - it's own name, y'know?

Do any other religious trans/nonbinary/genderfluid people relate? Have their own 'altar' name?

I'm not sure I'm happy with calling it an altar name either, we'll see. I don't want to call it an omnist name, it's not an exclusively omnist concept.

Surely there already is a name for this kind of name? Let me know. Or if I've explained all this terribly.

Shaker Jar Curse

Ever know  so vile you cannot wish more ill will upon them than you already do? Well, this is the one stop, meanest, nastiest, curse I could come up with. Here's what you are going to need. 

please remember to curse responsibly, this is a VERY powerful curse and really should only be used in a dire situation and for the worst of the worst people. Remember, if someone or yourself is in a terrible situation, please rely on the mundane before consulting magic. 

A medium or large sized jar 

Black thread or twine

A taglock for your target(full name, birthday, picture, the more specific the better)

Sigils with your intention 

Chili pepper

Ground ginger 

Black garlic(regular works fine)

Cheyenne pepper 

Pepper flakes

Cloves

Whole black peppercorns

vinegar( I used red) 

vodka( IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE USING IT OR HAVE ACCESS TO IT) 

Dead bugs( i used a spider and a stink bug) check your musty basements for dead bugs 

Thorns( i used rose thorns)

Rusted nails and screws 

Pins and needles 

Black and red candles

How to: 

Write your taglock and sigils on a piece of paper along with your intentions, what do you want to happen to this person, what are you angry about, how do you want this curse to affect them.

Add your ingredients to the jar, I recommend doing the vinegar last for a lack of mess. Speak your intentions over the jar, ask your deities for help if you so desire

Seal the lid of the jar tightly, take your string, knot it nine times and each time you knot it, speak your intentions and channel your anger and pain. Then knot the string around your jar and tie tightly 

Take your candles and melt the wax on the top and seam of the jar, make sure you do it especially around the lid to prevent leaks and also that negative energy from escaping, do as much wax as you like 

Shake the jar whenever you feel angry or hurt to make the effects of the curse worsen and intensify.

Queer Witch’s Manifesto 2.0 (2023)

(Written in 2021 originally sourced from another manifesto online, this was adjusted for my own needs back then, now updated again to better fit the needs of 2023 and so forth. Finished this edit up for the Full Super Sturgeon Moon of Aug 1st ~ 3rd 2023, as I re-investigated my life’s values and what made up who I am for my 32nd solar return on July 24th. Enjoy. If this echoes true with you, you are allowed to use this manifesto for yourself too. It is open and free to use and change as you need. Take care. -O) ---- There are INFINITE genders or lack thereof and sexual identities. Each one deserves the same space and respect as the next. Each one brings something unique and necessary to a circle should they choose to share their magic with us. We are not limited by binarism. White supremacy upholds ideals and expectations that harm EVERYONE and must fall. Christo-fascists seek out only furthering this harm in our communities. We must NOT let it continue. Even though white supremacy harms everyone, white people must not center themselves in discussions or plans for taking it down. We must center the voices of those most marginalized by white supremacy first and foremost Because we are fighting white supremacy, queer magicians must work hard not to appropriate sacred religious tools, artifacts, aesthetics, practices, or deities that do not belong to us.    Sex magic is powerful, beautiful, and queer. It should not be censored. Like anything sexual, we must hold up the idea that informed and enthusiastic consent is mandatory.    Our queered-up version of sex magic also fights rape culture, patriarchy, heteronormativity, and cisnormativity. Though we are anti-capitalist we recognize the constraints of the society we live in and know that money magic is often critical and empowering for those living in the margins. We recognize that the Goddess does not equal “womb worship” and that ANYONE can invoke “Goddess energy.” Goddess energy is intersectional. We recognize that some witches may have physical, emotional, or mental limits that cannot be overcome with spirituality. We welcome these witches to bring their whole, real and authentic selves into a magical space and cast spells in a way that works best for them. Magic is not diminished by disability. Disabled witchcraft is powerful, immeasurably so. All bodies are capable and deserving of magic and joy in their lives. We recognize that individual traumas may need to be healed before we move on to collective work. Global climate change is killing us all and we MUST protect and heal the Earth. Hierarchies do not work in a queer magical context. We are equals even if our jobs differ. MAGIC IS A TOOL FOR PERSONAL HEALING THAT LEADS TO EMPOWERMENT. This empowerment enables us to focus on social progress, empowering others, and collective liberation.

I run a podcast about witchcraft with @Banexbramble on Instagram called Southern Bramble: a Podcast of Crooked Ways. My goal for this blog is to have an informal space to formally share my thoughts and musings while bypassing the bureaucracy and red tape of more exclusive publications. You're feeling like you've lost control of your world. Morality is running short, you feel vulnerable, you're finding it hard to trust others, and the things that bring you comfort and joy are slipping from your grasp. You're out of sync with yourself and your path.

Look for opportunities around you. They may come in unexpected ways. Pay attention to your dreams. Keep an open mind. And most importantly, give yourself a break. Celebrate yourself and how far you've come. Focus on self-love for a while and embrace who you are.
