The synopsis says: “It’s the hottest summer on record and London is dying. Prices are high, pay is low, and stressed commuters are packed on to London Underground trains again like the pandemic never happened. To add to the misery, the temperatures underground just keep climbing and climbing, the heat trapped in the clay with nowhere to go. 

“Five travellers on an unlucky tube carriage find themselves bound together one morning as witnesses to a single horrific event – an event they can’t quite seem to remember. They make an unlikely team: weary tube driver, a disillusioned civil servant, an ambitious city trader, an overwhelmed hotel worker and an unhoused young man just trying to get by – but now they must come together to confront what they have seen and stop it in its tracks. Because there’s something lurking in the stifling darkness and labyrinthine tunnels that run below London… something old, something vicious, and something very, very hungry.” 

I couldn't be more excited to be working with @jonnywaistcoat on his next two novels! This is just more of what he does best - pulling apart the very seams of society and giving me very specific new sleep paralysis demons, and somehow getting me to say thank you afterwards.

I wish real life academia was more like The Magnus Archives because I'd much rather face otherworldly evils than have my research blocked by INFINITE PAYWALLS. Jonathan Sims might've suffered immensely and nearly ended the world but at least he didn't have to cite inaccessible sources.

I saw your DD graph asking for other ideas, so... if you still have any desire to do further Dracula graphs I'd be curious to see how the word count per character breaks down (not how much they speak but how much they write. Adding all their diary entries together, etc.). Obviously Mina wins by default from having typed up the whole novel but outside of that detail, how much did each person author?

So first off, if you just want to visualize the author breakdown, ta-dahhhh!

Seward was staunchly in the lead, talking his head off and burning through those wax recording drums like no ones business. Poor Mina for having to transcribe it all. In total his words made up 39.3% of Dracula. Nearly 40%!

Seward unsurprisingly had the most individual entries overall at 47, and had the longest streak for being the narrator in an entry at 10 days (09/02 - 09/11) with Mina following right behind at 9 days (08/10 - 08/19)

Mina surprisingly was 3rd overall both in word count and number of entries. She wasn't even in the top 3 for most words in a day which is as follows.

1 - Seward October 3rd - 9942 words

2 - Seward September 29th - 7206 words

3 - Jonathan October 3rd - 5944 words

Van Helsing only had 9 entries total but still came in number 4 for word count, in front of Lucy. It's interesting to note that the amount a person writes doesn't correlate to the amount of time they are being written about/appear. Which is why Arthur and Quincey don't even beat out the newspaper clippings for words, lol.

There are lots of authors we only hear from a single time, like Sister Agatha. So I've decided to make a small fry pie as well. (Authors under ~500 words)

The captain of the Demeter and Van Helsing both had more days written than Lucy! Though I didn't break up number of entries, like when the log of the Demeter had 3 or 4 on one day or Lucy wrote a letter and in her diary.

Excerpt from chapter 1 of ‘Sunlit Gotham’ by Sparky441 on Ao3

Arriving at the media room Bobby and Skylar pause, taking in the scene in front of them:

Jason, Cass, and Stephanie are in the process of trapping a struggling Dick in a blanket burrito. Conner is restraining Tim in a hug as he tries to lunge for Damian. Jon is pulling back Damian to stop him from stabbing Tim with a katana. And Duke is standing on a chair, trying to tie a blanket up to the ceiling.

They watch as Jason and Steph give another shove to Dick - who trips as he is trapped in a blanket burrito - and rolls into the chair that Duke is on. Duke falls with a shriek, landing on top of Conner who drops Tim in an attempt to catch Duke. Tim lunges for Damian, grabbing the katana while his younger brother is still restrained by Jon, and turns to sprint out of the room. Damian licks Jon, who releases him on instinct to wipe the sensation away, and gives chase once he’s free. Upon seeing the Richardsons in the doorway Tim attempts to stop, eyes wide, but skids on a spare blanket and Damian takes the opening to tackle him. The katana goes flying as the brothers go down and Cass gracefully grabs it out of the air.

I'm glad to see that my dear friend Jonathan seems to have the beginnings of a plan in development. his horror movie instincts are as sharp as ever, and I have no doubt in his ability to survive.

side note: can we bring the term "breakfasting" back into common use, it is a kick ass verb

So in earlier comics, Damian and Jon are always at each others neck and basically Damian brings out the worst in Jon (kinda, just how I interpreted it) so what if that sort of drove jon to be evil? Like along with other reasons but like it’s the main reason. Ik this has probably already been created but I haven’t heard or seen anything like it sooooo…. Yeah, but anyway, Damian continues to follow LoA training and the batfam doesn’t really try to help me as early on but pulls him back from the edge at just the right time so he comes out a little morally gray but still a hero. But he affected Jon a lot in his LoA phase. Jon didn’t really have anyone to balance him out of his dark mindset after that and no one to pull him back from that edge because his parents were always busy and they didn’t realize anything was going on with Jon until it was too late. Jon killed hundreds in an out burst because his parents tried to push him into telling them what was going on with him. He runs and is trained by Talia for a while because she knows her son and Jon like each other. He goes back to hero society reformed and a villain and the plot goes on. Romantic parts are up to you and so is the ending and the rest of the plot. Have fun and happy writing! Tag me if you write it bc I wanna see it! Also lemme know so I can look forward to it lmao 😂
