A lot of my hcs for ADHD Regina also apply to autistic Regina, so if you haven't already check those out here. But some more thoughts:

Extremely extremely high masking. She's constantly suppressing her autism and it's exhausting and so so draining but she absolutely does not want anyone knowing

I think she's very particular about her space and has a specific place everything is supposed to be. Her mom sometimes comes in to her room and "reorganizes" her stuff sometimes and Regina genuinely can't handle it

Also has a very specific morning and night routine and hates when something interrupts that

Can and will yell at people when she's overstimulated

Because she spends so much time repressing and refusing to actually feel her emotions, when she does have meltdowns they are so intense and violent. She's destructive and breaks things in her room and when it's really bad she ends up hurting herself by pulling on her hair or hitting her head against the wall. It gives her awful headaches and she always feels like shit after because she hates being like this

It's particularly dangerous after the bus considering how fragile her body is and how limited her mobility is, she's constantly so overwhelmed and feels like she's going to explode if she doesn't do something to get rid of the feeling. I think this is probably when the rest of the group finds out she's autistic because she has a meltdown in front of them, and they all gradually learn how to help her through them in ways that don't involve hurting herself

Also, because everyone's been too intimidated by Regina for so long and she's so used to constantly having her guard up, she immediately goes on the defensive whenever someone teases her. She has no idea how to read when someone is joking or being sarcastic and immediately lashes out when she doesn't understand

I guess this might be a vent but mostly I am confused. First of all, unrelated, but your blog is awesome.

Anyway, I'm a fat teen, I'd consider myself to be on the smaller end of fat, but I'm fat nonetheless. I used to be beanpole-skinny, but a whole medication thing made me gain weight. No big deal. But I've noticed that although people would mention my size plenty when I was skinny, but now that I'm not, everybody (with the exception of my fat friends & my mom, who is also fat) ignores it? From the way they talk, it's almost as though they're pretending I'm skinny. I even had a girl in my gov class tell me I should audition for Regina George if we do Mean Girls as our next musical, but Regina explicitly has the line of 'I never weigh more than 115', which, not putting exact numbers out here, but I definitely weigh far more than that. I've gotten similar stuff before, but that incident stuck. Aside from the casual fatphobia I hear ALL the time, not usually directed at me, I can't help but feel like they're making fun of me and I'm just too autistic to notice. What even is this? Fatphobia, or just taking advantage of the fact that I can't tell when I'm being made fun of? I'm so confused. If any of you could shed some light I'd appreciate it. (If more details are needed, I can provide them)

I have autism myself, which I don't know if that helps or doesn't in this situation. My interpretation is solely based on the information you've given and my inferences based on my personal knowledge and experiences of fatphobia.

Sometimes, thin people try their absolute hardest to not bring up that a fat person is fat, which is possibly what's happening for you (major emphasis on the word "possibly" since I don't want to say I 100% know). This phenomenon is why thin people will say stuff like "Oh, no, you're not fat!" to people who are definitely fat and had briefly mentioned their own fatness.

Fatness is viewed as taboo, and even just the word "fat" is considered taboo to say. So my guess is that the thin people around you feel uncomfortable acknowledging your size because they believe any weight other than the weight of a thin person should not be mentioned. Part of why I'm guessing this is your situation is because you said that people in your life who are also fat don't do this to you. Even though fatness is still made forcibly taboo between fat people in this society, you're more likely to be talked to about weight by a fellow fat person than by a thin person who "wants to be polite."

The thin people in your life may also be thinking your weight is temporary, like a temporary embarrassment that shouldn't be mentioned, and are waiting for you to be thin again. And if what you said about "casual fatphobia...not usually directed at [you]" is these thin friends of yours being fatphobic to everyone else but sparing you by pretending you're skinny, it does sound to me like these people view fatness as taboo and are having their fun laughing at other people but not saying anything to you about your weight so they can keep your friendship.

I don't know for sure if my interpretation of your situation is accurate, so you may want to ask more people, especially any fat people in your life who know your situation better than I do. Maybe some of our followers have feedback too that can help? But either way, you deserve to be treated as a fellow human being. And this may be my autistic side showing that tends to ignore social taboos for honest communication, but I would possibly directly ask these thin people why they talk this way about you. But that action may or may not be optimal. I hope this answer helped you!! Stay safe and remember you always have worth.

Eros 5: How closely is their opinion of their beauty linked to their confidence? Do they see themselves as more or less worthy of love or sex based on how attractive they feel?

I think it’s pretty clear Vincent has a really high view of himself to the point it’s egotistical. He drowns himself in luxury that literally only a small majority of people can afford. Vincent definitely thinks of himself as attractive(which he is, he’s played by Bill Skarsgård after all and it’s even stated in an interview that Chad Stahelski was looking for a more younger villain for chapter four). And because of that, he’s confidence is through the roof. I would say in a Regina George way considering the fact he looked confident that he would the duel(surprise! he did not.) Vincent’s self validation definitely comes from his status within the High Table and within his social class, which then moves on over to how he views himself. He of course, does think of himself worthy of love and sex due to the fact hey, he’s worthy of all these palaces and private theaters, why not simple desires too?

Philia 1: Does your [character] have a best friend? If they do, how long have they known eachother and how did they meet? If they don’t then do they have a close group of friends they love equally? Or are they more of a loner?

Vincent is alone. The closest thing he has is Chidi, his bodyguard. But then again, their relationship is close because Vincent trusts Chidi from his own life to business duties such as grabbing Caine and bringing him to the Marquis’ palace(which is Versailles btw)

Vincent is definitely not immune to seduction. When it comes to techniques, getting pampered and his ego taken care of would definitely make him feel safe since most of his self-worth lies in his power and his high standing position. It worked when Winston talked Vincent into accepting John Wick’s invitation to the duel. The Marquis is guaranteed to be seduced by someone who takes care of his ego, because he’s such a big fucking child that needs to be pampered or else he’ll start stabbing shit. To make things more interesting with my already long answer because I’m autistic and I like Vincent Bisset de Gramont: the type of seducer that would work on him from the “The Art of Seduction” by Robert Greene is The Charmer, someone who diverts attention from themselves and focuses all the attention and love bombing onto their victim!

My 'Mean Girls' experience ~ How the movie Mean Girls relates to Autism.

I never realized how much I related to Cady from 'Mean Girls' and how relatable the movie is to Autism until I watched this video.

By the way, Mean Girls is literally my favorite movie of all time. I literally can site almost every line in the movie (no I did not watch the musical that came out earlier this year since I hate musicals) but the OG movie will forever be my favorite. I never really thought about how much it relates to my experience until I watched this video and reflected on my own experience.

I had a Mean Girls experience myself, but instead of moving from Africa and being home-schooled I moved down south from up north and I was socially awkward. It was a huge culture shock. If you have ever seen the movie, Cady (portrayed by Lindsay Lohan) struggled with her transition from moving from the only home she knew and being home-schooled to going to high school in another country. She struggled a lot in the beginning not knowing anyone and not knowing where to sit at lunch, she had to eat in the bathroom. This was literally my 9th-grade year when I first moved down south. I didn't know anyone, and I struggled to relate to others which was always an issue but it was even worse in another region of the country with a different culture. I kept quiet and kept my head down. I did not make any friends that first year down south in a new school in a small town where everyone knew each other and had been going to the same school since kindergarten. I stuck out like a sore thumb and immediately people knew I was new since I was a new face around school and had an accent.

The 10th-grade year was a little better. I started hanging out with a group of girls kind of like Cady started hanging out with the plastics. The group of girls I hung out with were nothing like the plastics but they were definitely cooler than me at least I thought. I just wanted to belong somewhere so badly and for the first time, I did. We would hang out during school and outside of school, and we would talk on the phone and text (my dad got me my first cell phone that year) we would even pass each other handwritten notes in the hallway, kind of like our own burn book but letters. When I look back this is when I started heavily masking, I just wanted to be a part of the group and they would be nice most of the time but would throw shade kind of like the plastics did Cady. I would get made fun of for how I spoke, pronouncing words correctly, sounding too proper, how I walked, how I danced, and if I spoke too loud or was too quiet. It was literally always a problem being myself and I'm sure I started picking up on these girl's behaviors to fit in with the group.

By 11th and 12th grade I was essentially one of them in my mind and kind of came out of my shell, similar to Cady, and formed my own identity. Every now and then I would still get mocked for petty reasons and would get called an oddball but by that time I had a lot more confidence in myself. I had gotten my braces off and I started dating a little bit. I really thought I was somebody but looking back I lost who I was. The person I masked into back then is the person I became for the rest of high school, college, and even in my twenties.

But yes, Mean Girls definitely is relatable in the sense of trying to fit in and it eventually backfires in the long run just like Autistics trying to fit in a neurotypical world only for all the masking to essentially become detrimental to our mental health.

Side Note: I also believe I picked up on some of the behaviors of the characters in the movie especially Regina George and Gretchen Wieners, not necessarily the mean girls aesthetic but the feminine and girly aesthetic to mask. I started dressing more girly, getting my nails done, and wearing makeup as well during that time.

Yes, I was totally Cady sticking out like a sore thumb, being naive thinking the other girls in the group intentions were genuine.

do you have any hcs about Regina's diagnosis(and/or just realisation that she has) of autism + ADHD? like when it happened, how her parents dealt with it etc.

I think if she got diagnosed it had to have been when she was really young, before she learned how to mask fully

Anyone who's read my Regina character study knows I hc the George parents as awful so I don't think they would handle Regina's diagnosis well at all

They tell Regina she's not allowed to tell anyone because it would ruin their "perfect" image and put so much pressure on her to act "normal"

Alternatively, if we want to be slightly nicer, then maybe her mom is more okay with it then her dad and this is what ultimately splits their marriage. Because her mom disagrees with how her dad treats Regina which is why he's not in their life anymore

Regina probably buys in to the idea that there's something "wrong" with her and getting diagnosed just solidifies it in her mind, so she tries to just pretend it didn't happen and never gets any actual help in managing her autism/ADHD in healthy ways

This brings me back to my point that her meltdowns are always so intense because she spends so long repressing

I don't think Regina accepts this part of herself until post canon, when after the bus is gets impossible to hide with how stressed and in pain she is, but her friends are so understanding and they all try and learn about the best ways to help

She finally comes to terms with her diagnosis and starts to unmask around her friends eventually, and it's a whole learning process that she should've been allowed to go through as a kid but never did, so it's a lot of trial and error for her to figure out what works and what doesn't for her, and any potential triggers or stressors

a lot of people talk about cady being autistic and ykw she definitely is. but also. gretchen is right there

she resonates with me as an autistic person so deeply . to me she represents being a “high functioning” autistic person so perfectly

now let me explain . she is popular . she’s one of the plastics man she’s one of the most popular, highly desired people in the entire school and yet she still feels so out of place no matter what she does . why???? because she’s autistic.

she constantly wonders what’s wrong with her and what she’s doing wrong . not to mention she feels that way While also being part of the plastics .

i relate to her so hard in the sense that she constantly feels so alien despite the fact that she is in the top three most popular girls in all of north shore. she is, by all means, “normal” but she still feels constantly out of place

so that’s why i think she’s most definitely autistic (among other reasons)

speaking both french and japanese means that more often than not i am caught between two polar opposites.

according to my mother, when someone gives you a compliment, the polite response is to refuse it, because accepting it comes off as arrogant. (think regina george and her "so you agree, you think youre really pretty" spiel.) that backfired real quickly in front of non-asians. when i first started learning french, my teacher offhandedly said to me, "tu dessines bien, toi!" to which i responded "je ne suis pas d'accord" with a big smile on my face. the poor woman, she was so shocked. "mais astro, on ne dit pas ça, il faut dire merci!" i was very happy to have something to be humble about, but not many westerners seem to understand that, even when i spell it out to them. i think it might be because self confidence is such a prized quality in the west, it tends to overshadow everything else.

and then there's japan. somehow the only situation where saying thank you is wrong is when receiving a compliment. on top of that, most compliments that the japanese give are usually extremely backhanded but will be played as sincere to disguise whatever negative sentiments they may have. i once went to a 24-hour karaoke with friends i didnt know very well at the time, the cheap chain kind where we could get drunk without breaking the bank. one of them took a bite of their food and without any prompting, announced that their plate looked and smelled great, implying that it tasted like shit. if she had meant what she said, she would have told us before she started eating. some japanese people steer clear of me because i almost always mean exactly what i say, and that terrifies them. on the other hand, ive met plenty of people who find my candor refreshing.

i was bullied for all sorts of things at school, by mean popular girls who disguised all of their insults as compliments, including but not limited to: "your calves are enormous, where did you get those?" "you know so much, it's like you're autistic or something" "wow, you fit through the door!" and when i was visibly sick, "you've lost so much weight thanks to your aids infection!" i now have a hard time working out whether someone means well or not because ive gotten so used to being in defense mode all the time.

things are looking up for me though. cant believe im now surrounded by people who actually like me. it takes getting used to. maybe one day i can accept their love without having to think twice, but until then, my life will still be a delicate balancing act between "thanks" and "no", and im ok with that.
