so i checked out your guidelines and you said that you like plot to be included too so i hope this isn't too much for you.
R is 11 here if that's okay with you.
can i ask you to write an avengers x teen!reader where tony adopts a kid from foster care and the team is trying to get her to open up but she locks herself in her room because she's used to moving from home to home or being abused in the system so she's scared to do anything normal like interact and stuff like that. when they showed her room on the first day she was hesitant to go in bc she's used to poor treatment. Wanda and Nat are the first ones to notice her behavior and they point it out to the rest of the team. they come up with a plan to help her but it only pushes her further away from them bc she isn't used to that much attention. they decide that when she's ready she'll come to them so one game night she tip toes downstairs and peaks in the living room to see them having a good time. wanda or vision senses her energy and she tries to silently sneak back but they invite her in and she reluctantly joins them. she isn't too familiar with the games they're playing so they teach her then afterwards they watch a bunch of movies and they're glad they can give her the family she never had.

Walking into an entirely new surroundings is always anxiety inducing, but it’s especially scary when the people leading you to your so called new room are the world’s mightiest heroes.
There’s two men and two women in front of her, she knows who they are, of course, but she isn’t going to bring it up. Surely they have already sensed it.
One of the men, Iron Man, or Tony, as he told her to call him, is talking constantly. His hands are moving up and down, side to side as he gestures to different rooms and what’s in them. He is walking right in front of her, creating a sort of barrier between them. Wanda on the other hand, is walking next to her, occasionally glancing down at her.
Y/N keeps her eyes on Tony’s back. She doesn’t want to look anyone in the eyes or seem too fearful by mapping out the place.
“And this here,” Tony stops walking and opens a door, “is your room.” He turns to look at her with a big grin.
Not moving, Y/N stares inside the room. The four of them keep looking at her, waiting to see her reaction, but they get none.
Tony clears her throat. “You can go in, kid.” With small steps, she goes into the room. “We know it’s a bit empty, but you just tell me whatever you need and want, and I’ll buy it.”
She doesn’t need anything. It’s not like this room will be hers for long. It’s usual for her to stay in a home for a month at best. So, it’s better to not get attached to anything or anyone.
Wanda has a frown on her face as she watches Y/N set down her tiny bag. She’s worried of the girl, but puts those feelings on the side, this is a big change after all.
“Should we leave you to settle in?” Steve speaks up when the silence starts to drag on for a long time. “Someone could come get you when dinner is ready.”
With a nod from Y/N, the four of them close the door and leave her alone with her thoughts. With no one around, she lets out a deep breath and starts inspecting the room. It’s bigger than any other room she has had, and cleaner.
It’ll definitely be harder to leave this room behind when the time eventually comes.
After two very uneventful days, Natasha and Wanda have started talking with the other Avengers how Y/N doesn’t seem to get better, even though they’re giving her plenty of space. So, they decide to try another approach.
Wanda knocks on the door with a huge smile. Some of the other team members are behind her with boxes.
Opening the door only slightly, Y/N peeks through the gap. “Hi!” Wanda waves. “We got you something, if you could open the door a bit more?” Her voice is gentle and on the quieter side.
Y/N opens the door properly. Her eyes widen when she noticed the others and all the boxes waiting there. “We bought you some furniture and decorations.” Natasha brings one of the boxes in the room. “Obviously, we don’t know for sure what you like, but I think we got some good stuff.”
She stays frozen on her spot, out of the way, staring at the others walking in and out of the room. There are so many of them at the same time. Y/N doesn’t understand what they’re doing. Is this a test?
In fear of being punish for a wrong reaction, she decides to not react at all. Her hands are shaking behind her back, but she doesn’t let them see her fear. She just stares at them with a stoic expression.
“What do you think?” Wanda asks once the things are set. “You can obviously change things around if they aren’t to your liking, but this is a good start, yeah?” When Y/N just nods mutely, Wanda’s smile falls.
A silence falls over the room. Very uncomfortable and heavy silence. “Well,” Natasha clears her throat. “We’ll let you be.”
When the door closes, Wanda and Natasha glance at each other. “That didn’t work out the way I wanted.” Wanda mumbles. “I really thought that’d help her get out of her shell.”
“Maybe we just need to let her be.”
She huffs. “I know, it’s just so difficult when I can basically hear her worries.”
“It’ll happen, lets just do it on her terms.”
A week goes by where it almost seems like Y/N pulled into her shell even more. She wouldn’t speak to anyone, or even want to physically be in the same room as someone else. One of the team members always had to go knock on her door and leave a plate of food in front of it, so she would eat.
Most of the team got back into their regular routines, though their worry stayed the same, but they couldn’t stand outside her door forever. Wanda and Natasha would talk to her through the door at times, even if the conversation was fully one sided.
Today, the Avengers decided to spend the evening playing different board games. It’s not unusual for them, as they like to do bonding activities together.
Tony knocked on Y/N’s door to ask her to join them, but only got a small head shake as an answer. However, after an hour and a half, Y/N opens the door carefully.
She sneaks towards the living room, being cautious not to make any noise. Stopping right before the room, she peaks in. All the team members are laughing and shouting together.
Y/N takes deep breaths to calm herself down, these kind of situations still make her incredibly nervous. Suddenly, Wanda turns to look at her.
Her eyes turn wide and she is just about to turn away to go back to her room’s safety, but Wanda speaks up before she can. “Hey, sweetheart. Do you want to join us?” Now some of the others turn to look at her.
With hesitance, Y/N starts walking towards them. They’re surprised by this, but try their best not to show it. “We’re playing Monopoly. You ever played it?” Tony asks as Y/N sits between Wanda and Natasha.
“No.”
“That’s alright, we’ll teach you.” Wanda smiles, putting one more pawn to the board.
Y/N stays quiet for quite some time during the game night, but when the evening goes on, she starts initiating conversation more and even leans on Wanda’s side at times.
Maybe this family is different after all, it certainly isn’t ordinary.

Falling Star
1K Masterlist One-shot Masterlist Complete Masterlist
Summary: It's Hollywood's biggest night and Tom is hoping to win more than just an Oscar. A/N: Part of my 1k Celebration and @the-slumberparty week 3 writing challenge: Something New. I've never written short-reader trope before. Thank you to @lokisgoodgirl for being my BETA reader and @michelleleewise for some great ideas. I don't know how I could continue to write without your ladies' endless support 😘😘😘. And thank you to @huntress-artemiss for the request. Pairing: Tom Hiddleston x Female Reader Word Count: 2.1K Warnings: Fluff Dividers by: @firefly-graphics
Tom looked into the mirror as he rinsed the suds off his hands. Shaking off the excess water, he reached for a towel and dried them. He looked straight into his eyes, trying to keep the nervousness at bay.
It’s a big night for you. You’re going to do fine. You’re probably not going to win anyway, Tom sighed. Just focus on one thing and the rest of the night will go smoothly.
He ran his hands through his hair and pinched his bow tie one last time before he made his way out into the lobby. Focus on one thing, he repeated in his head.
These award shows always leave him a nervous wreck. He never expects to win. When he does, of course, it’s great, but then it brings on a whole new emotion of excitement and anxiety.
When he doesn’t win, it tends to be worse. He has to find that right balance of remorse and humbleness so that the media doesn’t portray him in an evil lie.
Oh, he could read the tabloids now, “And the Oscar goes to…, not Tom Hiddleston.” Or “Hiddles angry that he didn’t win his Oscar. Pictures and commentary on page 3.” He laughed about it internally, a smile on his face as he fixed his cufflinks.
“Come on man. Took you long enough,” Chris exclaimed patting his back. “I think they stuck most of us in the same row.”
“Oh, that’s wonderful. It’d be nice to see some familiar faces again.” Tom recounted the last time he saw anyone from The Avengers movie. The movie that brought together and cemented the friendship of seven individuals.
“I think Scarlet wants you to sit next to her.”
“Oh no. Does she?” Tom fretted.
“What?” Chris wondered.
“She’s been trying to set me up with one of her acquaintances,” Tom rolled his eyes.
“She can be quite persistent,” Hemsworth laughed.
Tom sighed as he accompanied Chris across the massive lobby. The plush red carpet matched the dramatic drapes hung from the ceiling. At the end of the hall was a grand staircase leading upstairs to the auditorium's main entrance.
The two friends stood in line waiting to ascend the stairs as photographers and reporters lined the banisters calling out their names, hoping to get an interview. Tom tried to drown out the noise. He tried to focus on one thing before he went crazy, and his anxiety took over. Tom took a deep breath. Just focus on one thing, he chanted in his head.
He opened his eyes and focused on the first thing he saw, an intricate design of beadwork and crystal that was in front of him. Tiny gold stars were scattered on a black sateen gown. They clustered at the top hem of the dress and sporadically fell towards the bottom. The back of the gown was secured by a beaded pin of a crescent moon, gracing your bare lower back. The whole gown looked like star fall plummeting in the night sky.
“Chris,” Tom whispered. “Is this whom I think it is?” Tom stared hard at your graceful figure. Not once taking his eyes off you. Chris gazed hard at you trying to see whom Tom was talking about.
“Ayee...yup. Yes, that’s her.”
“Didn’t she win the Oscar last year for…”
“Yes. I believe she did.” Chris mused.
“Is she up for anything tonight?”
“I think she’s presenting, actually.”
You gathered your dress, preparing to walk up the imposing staircase. Looking around you making sure you were not going to trip on your own outfit, you held your left hand out to steady yourself as you took that first step.
Tom, sensing you needed help, took your outstretched hand. “May I escort you up the stairs?”
The sudden voice and unexpected contact must have shocked you. You looked up at him with a startled expression and a blush on your face. A small smile graced his lips as he noted the sparkle in your eyes.
“Thank you,” you whispered, as photographers flashed their cameras at your interaction. Tom held your hand firmly as you gathered the rest of your dress in your other hand. Focused on making each step, Tom held on to you tightly, becoming the anchor you needed in such a cumbersome gown. “They must have altered this dress three times already just for me. But they can’t seem to get the length right. Even with me in heels,” you admitted shyly.
Tom laughed, finally noticing the height difference between you two. He was so used to towering over everyone, he never really gave it much thought.  “Well, it looks lovely on you. You look beautiful tonight.” You looked up suddenly at his compliment. Heat radiating down your skin. Your eyes arrested his thoughts and hitched his breathing, making him at a loss for words.
“The…uh…the dress. The dress is quite beautiful. Oh, not to say that you’re not beautiful. You are! You’re beautiful. In the dress. Oh, God. Please tell me I haven’t botched this up completely?” He stuttered, hiding his face in his palm. You laughed and squeezed his hand.
You almost fumbled at the top step, if it weren’t for him holding on to you so securely. “Thank you,” you said once again, and he reluctantly let go of you. “Good luck tonight. I hope you win,” you said, cheering him on.
“Thank you. You, too. Me too. I-I mean I hope so,” Tom stumbled on his words. You smiled at him once again, heading inside, leaving him to stare after you.
“Smooth,” Chris said, clapping Tom on his shoulder. “Real smooth.”
“Ugh, I’m a complete knob!”
“Ah, I wouldn’t worry about it. I don’t think she noticed,” Chris said laughing.
Tumblr media
Inside, the auditorium was stuffy and pompous. Two hours of everyone with their forged smiles and mock interests. Scarlet did manage to get Tom to sit next to her. She mentioned a friend of a friend who’s a writer for a late-night talk show in Los Angeles. Tom tried his best to be courteous but not commit to anything serious.
Minutes. Hours. They seem to drag by as the night continued up until it was time to announce Best Female Performance in a Leading Role. Tom knew you weren’t nominated for anything tonight, but that didn’t stop him from wondering where you were.
Were you sitting somewhere in the audience with other nominees? Or perhaps you were backstage mingling with some of tonight’s winners. It wouldn’t be long now till they got to the category he was nominated for, which made him nervous.
The heat in the room suddenly increased tenfold and the noise of the audience started to echo in his mind. Their clapping died down as the winner was announced and accepted her award. Focus on one thing. Focus on one thing. He closed his eyes as he took a lungful of air in. Breathing slowly.
Exhaling, Tom opened his eyes and suddenly everything else disappeared. Every sound went silent. Every light dimmed, focusing on a central spotlight on stage. And all he could see was you.
You walked out, unaccompanied, to the soundtrack of your award-winning movie. Tom watched you carefully, knowing full well that you were anxious about your dress and stumbling. With a cool look and a smile on your face, you hid your anxiety about tripping. You demonstrated exactly why you were worthy of that Oscar last year. Carefully taking a calculated step toward the podium and ignoring your long, imposing gown.
“Last year, I was very fortunate to stand up on this very stage and accept the award for Best Female Performance in a Leading Role…”
Tom tried to focus on you, instead of the nagging anxiety that was wracking his brain. Your gown had taken on a different hue under the bright spotlights. It had turned to a rich navy blue. The sequences on the stars shone brighter, glittering to gather everyone’s attention.
“This evening will be another night of firsts for me as I present the award for Best Male Performance in a Leading Role.” Tom was awestruck as he watched you on stage. Your smile was charming, and your laughter was contagious.
Tom heard you say his name twice that night. Once when you were reading the nominees. And the next, when you announced that he won. Chris and Scarlett patted him on the back and tried to wake him from his stupor.
“Mate, you better get up there,” Chris whispered, hugging him on his way. Tom was mesmerized. He couldn’t believe that he won. His nervousness threatened to eat him up whole as he stood up and made his way onstage. He remained focused on you instead, clapping for him as he made his way up more stairs.  You handed him his statue along with a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
All at once, he faced the audience and didn’t know what to say. “I- uh…” Tom held on to the statue tightly and looked back at you.  You gave him a reassuring smile and he found that your calming presence helped alleviate his anxiety. “I wasn’t expecting to win tonight. Forgive me, I had no speech prepared,” Tom continued as the audience laughed.
He concluded his speech with thanks to the Academy, other nominees, and his friends and family for all their support.
After a rousing applause, he made his way to follow you off the stage. He’d hoped to escort you like earlier and have another intimate moment with you. As you turned, your foot caught on the front of the dress causing you to fall forward.
In a heroic move, Tom sprinted to your side and caught you. His arms wrapped around your waist as you turned right-side up. He lunged forward before you fell to the floor, cradling your head.
There was a collective gasp from the audience as they watched the scene unfold. A heated blush spread throughout your body.
“Are you all right?” he asked, alarmed.
“Oh, my God. Yes! Thank you,” you stuttered, holding onto his lapels tightly.
“Of course, darling,” he said as he helped you stand back up.
“You seemed to be saving me a great deal tonight,” you gave him an apologetic look as you ran your hands over your dress. Tom offered his arm, and you gladly took it, hoping you wouldn’t trip again. “Oh, God. I’m so embarrassed. I must’ve looked like an idiot out there.”
“Nonsense, you look magnificent,” Tom replied, kissing your hand.
Tumblr media
Tom sat in the dining area of the hotel room. Bright morning light shone through the windows as he read the newspapers and magazines sent to the room, along with the room service. It seemed that all anyone talked about was your tumble from last night and how he caught you. Rumors began to spread as everyone gave their opinions on the matter.
“Did Hiddleston win more than just an Oscar last night?” “Secret Relationship: How long have they been together?” “Was it staged?” These were not the headlines he was expecting to read this morning. A small smile crept on his face seeing all the pictures from different angles.
A soft moan stole his attention as you wrapped your arms around from behind him. “Come back to bed.” You gently kissed his neck, and he could still smell the lingering perfume in your hair.
“I ordered breakfast for us, darling,” he said with a soft whimper.
“How very thoughtful of you,” you teased. Tom grabbed your arm and pulled you around to sit on his lap. He noted that you were wearing nothing but his dress shirt from last night. The sleeves were rolled up and the tails sat just at your knees. You were swimming in his shirt, a look that he was starting to like more and more. Your tousled morning hair reminded him of the carnal way you both took each other last night.
“…Unnhh…” you moaned as he hoisted you against the wall. “Take this infernal dress off me. Please.” “With pleasure,” he snarled.
You sat with your legs over the handrest of the chair as you picked up the papers and read them. A scowl formed on your face the more you read. “I’m sorry, Tom. All this over me falling. I didn’t mean to take away from your big night.”
“That’s quite all right darling. As far as I’m concerned they can keep reporting it all they want.”
You looked at him through your lashes. His tall frame and long arms surround you, cherishing you.
“Why?” you asked coyly.
“Because in every picture, I get to see that mesmerizing look on your face.”
“What look?” you provoked.
“The same look I had on my face when I caught you.”
“And what was that?” you giggled.
“Like you were the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.”

christmas shopping with haechan
pairings. haechan x (f) reader
genre. fluff, established relationship
note. this was meant to be uploaded like the week before christmas but i’ve been so busy and just felt unmotivated to write anything TT but i hope everyone had a safe and happy december and new year!!
“doesn’t he already have something like this?” you ask, staring at the box of avengers legos that is about the size of your front.
“i’m not sure,” haechan replies, scratching the back of his neck.
you place the box back on the shelf, and stomp your foot on the ground. “haechan you’re literally no help!” you whine, turning around to continue looking up and down the aisle of legos.
you and haechan were doing some christmas shopping, today being the only day both of your schedules synced up and you both were free to go together and shop for each other’s families.
for christmas eve, you and haechan were spending it with your family and for christmas day, you and haechan were spending it with haechan’s family. you’ve had your families presents prepared and wrapped since the first week of december, so that side is out of the way. now, you were shopping for haechan’s family, and you thought haechan would be of some help, giving you some input on what his parents and siblings like. yet, he’s not doing a great job at all.
“sorry baby! my brothers literally find a new thing they like every week, and he’s got so much legos i don’t know what he has and doesn’t have.”
you sigh defeated, “does he like black panther?” you wonder, as you spot a whole section of legos and toys from the black panther movie.
you turn to look at your boyfriend who’s head is tilted and eyebrows scrunched as he thinks.
“his favorite avenger is spider-man.”
you nod slowly. “okay, we’re getting somewhere. follow me.” you take haechan’s hand and drag him with you without giving him a chance to respond. you lead past a few aisles and are finally in the plushie aisle. you’re quick to leave haechan’s side as you spot the spider-man bedrest pillow. you
“doesn’t he have a spider-man blanket and pillow on his bed? i’m so smart.” you smile to yourself, holding the pillow under your arm and against your hip. “i’m gonna get him that lego set too, i’m just gonna hope he doesn’t have it. hopefully, someone else didn’t already get him that.”
haechan walks up to you, throwing his arm over your shoulder and kisses the crown of your head. “he’s gonna love it bubs. my parents probably won’t be since they hate to enable his lego collection, but they’ll love his reaction when he opens it.” his arm slides off your shoulder and finds it’s way to the spot just above your lower back, that’s covered from your sweats.
you lean into his side. “now, you gotta help me fight some moms to get my hands on that pot set your mom was talking about.”

Bad Date
Tumblr media
Summary: After a bad date, you just want to go to your room and forget about everything. The Avengers want to know who to kill for hurting you, leading to an unexpected confession from your crush, Bucky.
Pairing: Bucky x Avenger!Reader
Warnings: Mentions of deer hunting, Fluff
Words: Just under 1000 words
A/N: This is the first fic I have written in years, so please excuse any mistakes. I know nothing about hunting either...
Part 2
Tumblr media
You rush to your room, hoping no one will be present to see you fume in anger. Too bad you live in the Avengers Tower and you have to pass the common area to get to your suite.
"Hey Y/N. What are you doing back so early honey? Weren't you supposed to be on a date?" Nat called from the lounge.
"I don't want to talk about it..." you mumble as you slowly make your way to your room. Natasha, Steve, and Wanda are on the couch, obviously setting up to have a movie night.
You hear the elevator ding behind you as heavy steps enter the room. "Next time, someone else goes out to buy the pizza. Maybe someone who isn't hated by the public," Bucky called out as he walks to the lounge with 3 boxes of pizza in his hands. His eyes shoot up when he notices you in the room. "What are you doing here, doll? Though you had a spiffy date or something?"
"I just came back... I don't want to talk about it," you mumble again as you clasp your handbag to your side. "I think I'm just going to bed."
"What's wrong Y/N? Did he hurt you or say something untoward?" Steve stands up and slowly grasps your shoulders as worry fills his eyes.
"No, it's nothing like that..."
"Then what's wrong? If he said something or tried something, you just tell us, and we'll take care of him. Promise doll." Bucky passes the pizza to Nat to put on the table.
You sigh in defeat knowing they aren't going to stop asking you until you admit the truth. Your fists clench as you think back on the evening. "He took me deer hunting. On the first date!" You hear Wanda gasp as you continue, the words pouring out of your mouth with venom.
"Who does that? I mean, I get that some weird people like doing that for sport, but you can't just accept that everyone is fine with hunting innocent animals! He didn't even ask me if I would be ok with it!" You gasp for breath then exhale slowly, trying to calm your racing heart.
"That asshole!" Wanda exclaims. "Didn't you put it on your profile that you are an animal lover?"
"I did, I mentioned it multiple times on my profile. He obviously couldn't even take a few minutes to read through it," you sigh as you go and sit between the two women, putting your bag on the floor. Bucky and Steve go and sit opposite you.
"So, what did you do? How did you stop him from shooting anything?" Blue eyes find yours as you glance at Bucky before answering his question.
"How do you know I did something?"
"Come on doll, no chance in hell are you going to let an animal be shot in front of you. We know you too well."
He's right, you all know each other way too well. In the past few months, you and Bucky had become great friends, your conversations changing from simple greetings to deep conversations in the dead of night when sleep eluded the both of you.
"I was tempted to smash in his skull when I told him that I don't support hunting and he just said that I'd get warmed up to the idea. He spotted a doe and told me to be very quiet as he readied the shot. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, I accidentally spilled my coffee on his lap." They all laugh in unison before you continue, "Let's just say he wasn't very happy with me after that, so I told him to take me home."
"Good thinking. He probably shouldn't be breeding anyway," Bucky says, his eyes twinkling with humour as he smiles at you.
"I mean, what crazy guy takes a woman hunting on their first date? Bucky, if you took me on a date, what would we do?" You ask matter of factly. You normally wouldn't have the courage to ask him something like this, but you need to know how a good man would treat you.
"Your favourite Wolf Sanctuary is having an evening walk this entire week. I'd take you there for a picnic, then cheesecake at that cafe you love."
His reply is so fast, you know he must have been thinking about it for a while.
His face pales as he realises what he just said. "Shit, please tell me I didn't say that out loud." He groans as he pinches his brow. Steve pats his shoulder softly in support.
"You thought about taking me on a date? Me personally?" You ask him, forgetting about all the people around you.
"I..." Bucky's eyes fall to the floor before he takes a steady breath, "Yes I have." He rubs the back of his neck with his right hand, his eyes meeting yours shyly, "I've just been too nervous to ask you..."
You stand up quickly and grab your bag feeling his eyes follow your every move. "Well, come on Sarge. That sounds like the perfect date." You grab Bucky's vibranium hand as you pull him to the door. "Don't wait up guys." You shout to the others as you enter the elevator.
"Are you sure about this doll? I don't want to take advantage of you after your bad date." Bucky asks softly fingers intertwining with your own.
"Hell yeah, I've been hoping you would make a move for months. I'm not letting you get away from me now Barnes." Bucky laughs in your ear as you lift your hands and wrap them around his neck. He's so tall he has to bend down to get closer to you.
"You better be careful, doll. Keep talking like that and I'm going to end up marrying you."
"Not until the fourth date," you whisper as Bucky leans down further and kisses you, making it the best night ever.

Following the rose petals, on the dirt path leading away from the Avengers compound and into the woods behind. Your white strappy sandals go mid-calf, giving room to your mid-length mini soft pink dress that’s off the shoulder.
Holding onto a tree as you go down a slightly rocky path of rose petals and rocks, you start spotting fairy lights resting among tree branches.
Walking towards a small nook that's tucked away in the woods, looking at the blankets and pillows you step onto. Fairytale lanterns hanging up with the fairy light along with glitter decorations. Colorful blankets hung up, shielding the nook away from anything but the noises of the birds, and other creatures.
Seeing the rose petals go into a heart shape on the blankets as you see feet standing above with a hand extended out to you.
It’s Tony standing in a nice dress shirt and pants with a huge smile, giggling softly as you begin looking around the hideaway.
This is almost out of a fairytale, it’s like a dream you’ve had before. Twirling around, staring at all of it as the sunsets in the background somewhere out in the forest. It’s magical.
Tony's hands wrapped around your waist, making you smile brightly at him.
"What is this?!" You question with softness in your voice as you just stare at the bright lights and the setting of rose petals. The soft glitter decorations hanging, lanterns hanging up, it’s wispy like.
Tony chuckles softly "A Surprise!" He adds on to his chuckles making you just smile.
"It’s….I don’t know what it is…It’s perfect…it’s magical." You say as you reach out, laying your fingers, gently on the glitter decorations. Slowly spinning around to the other decorations as you touch them with a glow in your eyes, Tony has seen before that’s when he first met you, every time you look at him.
"Remember four years ago, when we first met, drive- in a movie dive, you ran into me with your food. It was a fairytale movie night, Disney movies, princess movies, the others dragged me to that." Tony says and you laugh softly turning to him as your dress flows out in doing so.
"Yes! My favorite night was the night I met you and then suddenly we were on our first date night and we got stuck in traffic due to the princess con across from the restaurant." You add to his story and Tony nods in response.
"You were obsessed with those princess dresses you saw!" Tony chuckles and you nod.
"I still love them" You comment laughing as you grab Tony's hands.
Giggling softly "Whatever this is, I love it already!"
"What’s next?! A movie! Disney movie!" You say hopping excitedly away from Tony as you look at the blank sheets.
"No actually," Tony says and you just hum quietly.
"Then what?! Oooh! A Picnic!" You say trying to guess what Tony planned.
"no…no ...no," Tony says as you touch the fairy lights as you twirl them in your hand.
"Oooo Fairytale book reading! What book?" You guess widely as you turn quickly to Tony but not seeing him at eye level in fact, lower on...one knee.
Freezing as you stare at Tony, covering your mouth with your hands as you began sobbing softly.
"Tony, what is this?" You ask through your sobs.
Tony grabs your hand as you stare at the ring he’s holding.
"Ms. Y/n L/n, I need you…I want you by my side. Since the first day we meet, since the drive-in dive, I knew I wanted you by my side. Then being stuck in traffic and your face when saw the dresses and the con, how you lit up? It made me feel butterflies, then I got to know you, and I fell more and more in love. I couldn’t understand how much I loved you until you pull me in on our third date and you kissed me because I couldn’t do it myself four years ago. I realized that you were the woman for me. There are no words to describe how I can feel about you, it’s so huge that there’s nothing that can buy the words. Will you marry me? Became my princess as I will be your Prince Charming." Tony says through his tears and you begin to giggle softly as you smile at him.
"YES! YES! YES! TONY YES!" You scream out as Tony grabs your hand placing the ring on your finger, it fits perfectly.
Pulling your newfound fiancé in as you began sobbing quietly into his shoulder as he held you tightly kissing your forehead with the side of your face.
Pulling away as your hands go to his face wiping his tears as you kiss gently, Tony instantly melts into the kiss.
"I love you…I love you so much. I love this, it’s just so magical!" You say into the kiss as Tony kisses you more before pulling away.
"Look at the ring…" Tony says quietly as you look down at the ring, seeing Cinderella's carriage on the side of the ring.
Gasping out with wide eyes, choking out with more tears; "Oh my god, it’s the Disney Cinderella diamond ring…oh my god. How'd you know I was looking at this?!"
"I have my ways and also the snaps you sent with your laptop in the background with the ring…"Tony says as he winks at you, laughing softly as you blush red softly.
"Thought you’d never get the hint….oh god I love it…I love this! It is a fairytale!" You say looking around as you froze seeing the Avengers recording as they smile and begin clapping and cheering.
"Oh my god! When did you guys get here?!" You yell in surprise
"Just now!" Steve says as he stops recording on his phone with a huge smile plastered on his face and every one of the other heroes that became your family over four years.
"Oh my god! Were all of you guys in on this?!" You ask, letting go of Tony as you stare at the group in shock.
"YES! Congratulations!" Natasha says as he hugs you tightly and you just her back as hugs and laughter fill the area as hugs are being passed around.
"Thank you so much." You say as Tony holds a hand up to you and you just smile at him.
"I love you all!" You say as you just smile widely, all you can do is just smile, that’s just show how you are feeling. Which is pure bliss.

I get to dump all my Steve Rogers takes here!
I barely know where to start! I guess in general, Steve's character arc in the MCU is straight up depressing. Like, I didn't fully realize until I re-watched the movies how tragic his story is. I mean, the end of his first movie is him sacrificing himself for the world, freezing to death and waking up 70 years later where his entire world is completely gone and everyone he knows is dead and only TWO WEEKS LATER he has to suck it up and lead the Avengers into battle in Avengers 1. That's insane! We don't really get a lot of superhero character-centered movies with such hopeless endings like that. His last lines are "I think I missed a date" - That's dark when you really think about what it was like in that very moment to realize what's happening to him.
And going into his second movie, his current world is tilted once again. He's been unknowingly working for HYDRA who he lost his life fighting against, who he hates more than anything and everything quickly goes to shit when he realizes that his absolute best friend was alive but being tortured for the 70 years he was asleep. The only person in the entire world who could possibly relate to him a little bit - the only person who knew him before he was "worth" knowing doesn't even remember him because Steve dropped him. All that guilt and horror is way too hard to imagine. There's a lot more to say about TWS but God...yeah, horrific.
And Civil War...His world is tilted AGAIN. I cannot explain to you or anyone else how absolutely gobsmacked I was when I came out of that movie loving Steve Rogers just to find out everyone fucking hated him. I am very obviously team Cap, but only because I agree with his position, his actions and his morals. Imagine you just found out the government is HYDRA and now some rando (Ross) walks in with your teammate in tow to tell you to sign over all your civil rights to the government that will not only put you in danger but also set a dangerous standard for how enhanced people can be treated. I read what was in the Accords (and Steve was the only character on-screen looking over it). It's beyond reprehensible. I wouldn't sign it either especially since it was sprung up on the whole team with only 3 days to review it. Despite that, Steve was open to the idea of signing it as long as safeguards were put into place (he explicitly states this)...until he found out that they were somehow already enforcing the damn thing by keeping Wanda in internment. So, since the only two options are sign this or retire - he leaves. During all this he learns that Peggy dies, goes to her funeral, deals with Bucky being framed.
[I just found this deep in my drafts and realized I'm never finishing this jkdshfkjsdf, so here y'all go! <3 TLDR Steve's life is a big ball of pain and he deals with it better than any other character or person would and honestly, I don't blame him for any of the deicions he decided to take because he deserves the space, time, and freedom to do whatever tf he wants after his tragedy we call a life.]

Coulson's Kid (potentially part one)
Steve Rogers x Reader
Summary: Agent Coulson has an adopted daughter. Adopting her after he lead a raid on a plant that had strong connections to the people responsible for Hydra. At five years old, she was her own kind of super solider with abilities that completely differed from the Captain's. And now, she was an Avenger.
Notes: This takes place during the first Avengers movie, but I'm changing things around to fit the story. I'm also going with the storyline that Colson is, in fact, not dead. But that fact isn't addressed in this story. If I do do a part two, depending on what you guys think of it, it will be later.
Warnings: Angst, death, fighting, small description of being shot and bleeding, notjing graphic. Leading up to an eventual love story. I'm going with slow burn on this. Let me know if I missed anything!
Word count: 3,457
((Gif not my own.))
P.s. wrote on my phone and proofread as best I could.
Tumblr media
"Agent down. Agent down. Agent Phil is down." Fury said over the coms.
"Dad!" Y/n gasped, throwing herself from one platform to the next and then bolting down the stairs. "Please be wrong, please be wrong." She kept muttering under her breath. Coming to the floor above where her dad had been headed, she threw herself over the railing, falling in the process. But she couldn't care less about herself at the moment, she had to find her dad.
Heart pounding. Sharp ringing in her ears. He had to be alive.
As if in slow motion, she made it to the entrance way to the containment room. Fury was standing there, hand over his mouth, and then her eyes found her dad. Slumbed down against the wall, head dropped... He wasn't moving. Why wasn't he moving?
Then, things sped back up again.
"DAD!" She screamed, running for him. Fury whipped around, "Somebody stop her!" He ordered.
Steve, who had made it to the room just after her, grabbed her by the arm. She pushed him off and kept going. "Rodgers!" Fury yelled.
Steve was going to ask questions later, but for now, he'd do as he was told.
So he grabbed y/n, threw her over his shoulder, and carried her out of the room.
"No! Steve, please!" Y/n begged, hands balled into fists. She punched him across the back.
But it did very little to sway him.
He carried her up the stairs and darted into a side hallway. Slowly setting her down.  "Y/n‐" She cut him off by hitting him repeatedly in the chest, "Why! Why did you take me away! Just let me go -" "It's - " She hit him again. "Y/n-" "No! Just tell me why. " He put an end to her attacks by engulfing her into a hug.
She froze. Unable to move. For a moment, she couldn't even bring herself to breath.
"I'm sorry." Steve said after a moment of uninterrupted silence.
The flood gates opened. She took a breath and began to sob, leaning against him for support, her cries muffled and body trembling.
He just stood there, holding her protectively. He didn't say anything else.
A mere few minutes passed before she came to her sense and pulled away from him.
"Steve, I'm -" "You don't have to say anything, Y/n-"  He said, his tone still serious, tho he had a look of concern on his face. His mind was split between the attack on the ship, the fact that the Avengers were now split up, the loss of Colson... Y/n hated being vulnerable in front of others, it had always made her feel embarrassed and almost shameful, tho at this precise moment, shame was the furtherest thing from her mind. The pair of them stood there, eyes locked, "We should pro-" Steve began to say but was cut off.
"I need everyone to the tabel, now," Fury said over the comm.
Y/n's expression changed from one of sorrow to anger.
"He's giving me an answer." She spat, turning on her heel and rushing out into the stairwell.
"Y - y/n," Steve called, running after her.
Y/n stormed into the conference room. "Fury!" She yelled. "I want answers, and I want them now." She said, slamming her hand against the table. Fury just looked at her, ignoring her tear stained face . He turned back to the computer screen. Y/n chest heaved, and her jaw set, "Tell me - " She swallowed back the lump in her throat, "Tell me why you wouldn't let me near my father."The Avengers began as an initiative-" Fury began.
But y/n wasn't paying attention. Head hurting, ears ringing, hands clutchingher sides.
It wasn't until Fury tossed down some baseball cards. Her dad's baseball cards that she focused again.
She stared at them. They were a constant part of her childhood. Every night after her dad told her a bedtime story, he'd pull out those cards.
"See this one, this is for when Captain America stormed a  Hydra camp. And nearly singlehandedly brought an entire sqaude of men home. That's how he got his name, Captain America."
That was one of her fondest memories. It was also one of her most embarrassing when Steve told her that her dad had asked if he wanted to see them. But that had followed a more serious conversation.
"Your dad is Agent Colson?" "Yep... Well, not biologically. He um... Adopted me when I was five. He raided a base on an island off shore of Scotland and found me."How did you end up there?" I was born there." "Born there?" Y/n sighed, setting her mug down. She didn't say anything for a moment. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have pryed."No. No. It's ok. Um. From what I've been told, I was given up right after I was born. Hydra adopted me. More like they bought me. I have no idea who my mom was and what happened to her after that. I really don't remember what they did to me, I was just too young. But what I do know is that they were trying to create a different kind of super soldier. Branching out into other abilities besides just being strong." Steve just looked at her. His face a cloud of mixed emotion. "They did that to a child?"It wasn't just me. . . But I was the only one who made it."I'm assuming someone had to tell you all of this..  Your dad? "When I turned 18, he finally let me read my file.." Now Steve just looked angry. "So that's how you became a part of -" "Shield?" She asked, cutting him off. "I've basically been raised with Shield. My dad wanted to make sure I learned to control my abilities. Basically, this was my after-school program, but dad made sure I was also allowed to be a kid. I wasn't actually allowed to join shield until I was 18." Steve was silent, obviously processing everything she had just told him. "Do you mind if I ask you something?" He finally said. "Go ahead,"you said, a different kind of soilder. Different how?" This was the first time she had been asked that question because everyone she knew already knew. "Um-" She said, clearing her throat. "I don't know how to explain it, really. I can feel things. A person's body temperature, I can sense when they're about to shift their movement, heart rate, breathing, all of it. . . That and martial arts just come easily to me. Way too easily. " "That's why you're never beaten when you spar." Steve said, obviously trying to lighten the mood. "I suppose so," y/n said, grabbing her tea and drinking deeply from it.
Back to reality.
Y/n stared blankly at the cards. All she could see was red. The cards were stained with drops of red...
"These are my dad's," She mumbled, slowly looking up and setting her sights on Fury. "They were in his coat pocket."You're using them to make a point, Fury! My father was a person - not, not some promotional tool."We have a war to wage." "Oh I'm going to reign hell on Loki," She said, her voice low but anger filled. "But know this Fury - I will get answers, and if you EVER use my dad to manipulate anyone again, there will be a special place in hell for you too." She spat, turning and walking out of the room, heading for the launch pad.
The others remained seated and quiet. Until Natasha finally spoke up, "She's right, Fury. Low blow."
They landed in New York, Nat had gone after one of the aliens, Bruce was smashing things, and y/n, well, y/n had a god she was looking for.
She stood back, watching the skies. He would want a good vantage point to watch all of this go down. There's no way someone like him would just stand in the middle of it and risk his own life.
Finally she spotted him on one of the upper levels of a building. Looking down as if he were king.
Y/n climbed up the side of the building, going up one floor above him so you would have leverage. In one swift motion, she swung down, kicking him full force in the chest, knocking him on his back. Pinning him down, she punched him once, twice, three times, her knuckle guards increasing her damage three-fold. "You killed my father," she spat. Taking one of her double-sided blades and holding it to his throat. "If I were half the monster you were, I'd make you suffer," She growled, pressing it slightly into his skin. Loki looked at her, grinned, and then held out his hand for his staff, it slid across the floor and in one move he grasped it and threw her across the room into a glass display case. "If you were half the monster I was, you would have won just now." He laughed before falling off the balcony to be caught by one of his soldiers.
She had the man who killed her father beneath her and he got away because she wasn't swift enough to take him out. Slowly she pushed herself off the floor. Dusting shards of glass from her suit, other than a good scratch to the face she hadn't been hurt too badly.
Running to the balcony, Loki was completely out of reach now and from the looks of it, Steve needed help. Loki would get his, that she was sure of, even if it wasn't done by her.
Back on the ground she quickly found Steve, "they've trapped sevillians in that building. We gotta get em' cleared out of there." He grunted.
The people trapped inside were frantic. This might be new York but even they weren't prepared for this. Y/n and Steve tagteamed it, combining his strength with her martial arts, ensuring they couldn't be hit in their blind spots. It was a funny thing, how some people, though still a very new acquaintance, could so completely click with your movements and fighting style.
Y/n jump down to the first floor to pry open the doors so the crowd could escape.
She hadn't cleared the area for the aliens, and was ambushed. She was doing well on her own, noticing that they weren't quick to pick up on patterns. There had to be at least ten of them, and she had to be quick. The fight was only increasing so the chance of them making it to actual safety was lessening by the second.  Finishing off the last one by leaping on its back and slitting its throat, she glaced back at the crowd, nodded in an attempt to be reassuring, and began working the door again.
Someone screamed. A shot fied and y/n looked down at her left arm. She was bleeding. Apparently one of then had been hiding in the shadows and used her distraction as an opportunity to try to take her out. She turned around, reaching with her right had to grab her gun. But before she or the alien could fire, Steve's shield flew through the air and beheaded it.
He dropped down in front of her. The crowd was even more frightened now than they had been beforehand. "It's going to be ok." He tried to assure them.
Turning round, he looked at her wound and the increasing blood stain. "You've been shot" "I don't feel anything" "You're in shock." He said, grabbing the bar and throwing all of his weight into forcing the doors to open. When they did, he turned to the crowd again. "All of you - get out of here NOW!" He ordered. They didn't wait to be told again and flooded from the room.
"Here," Steve said, ripping cloth from a nearby curtain. He came to stand next to her, "May I?" He asked holding the material up. Obviously intending to bandage the wound. Since it was a lazer gun she had been shot with, they didn't have to worry about lodged bullets. She nodded bracing herself, Steve tried to do this quickly and caefully, but y/n still hissed when actually tied it.
"Sorry" "No, I got distracted " " can you still fight?" "I'm right-handed Captian. What about you? Getting sleepy?" Y/n said, attempting to lighten the mood some. "I can do this all day" Steve said, offering a weak smile.
The two of them then made their own way back outside rejoining the fight.
"Guys," Tony said his voice sounding urgent. "What is it?" Steve asked. "We've got a live missle heading for New York." "What?" "You heard me right." Steve paused mid step. "Whose is it?" Y/n asked. "America's" Stark said curtly. "How much time do we have?" Steve asked. "Not enough," Tony said. You all could hear the wind whooshing about him. "I've- I've got a plan." He said his voice breaking up. "It may or may not work. Let's hope it does." That was the last thing he said.
Everyone watched the skies now. In a moment you could see Tony, he was holding something cylindrical and flying towards the open portal.
"Oh Stark don't do this," Y/n whispered.
This was something he very likely wouldn't come back from.
A new squad of aliens came up on them, "Y/n watch your six" Steve called, punching out one of them following up with a shield to the face.
Y/n turned around, grabbing a knife off her leg, kicking one hard in the shoulder, and another in the shein. Turning back around to stab the first in the side of the face and then slicing the second across the stomach. This all took a matter of 15 seconds.
Looking out at the the group that was surrounding them, Steve grunted, "Y/n," y/n ducked, grabbing a gun and shooting one in the head. "We can't keep going like this" "it's,-" She panted, trying to pretend that she wasn't beginning to give out, "it's not over till an opera lady sings" "That's not how that goes" "sure, correct me now"
But deep down; Y/n knew he was right. The army was too big and spread out, they couldn't focus on one area and beat them down.
Tony.
"Stark, an update!" Someone yelled over the coms. That was the last thing y/n could clearly make out over the coms. Nat was yelling something, an order of some sort.
A moment later the portal began to close.
"Steve" Y/n whispered. "I see it," He said worriedly, "Stark, can you hear me? Get out of there now"
Minutes passed, the battle waged on, and the portal got smaller.
"Come on, Tony!" Y/n yelled, shooting another two, one through the other.
Just as the portal had srunk down to a pinprick in the sky, something, rather someone, came falling through. At that same moment, the ever growing army, began to collapse. Like robots someone's just unplugged.
Confused Steve yelled,  "Stark - is that you?" . But there was no reposponse. "He's out cold guys," Hawkeye answered.
"He will not survive landing at such velocity" Thor added, beginning to spin his hammer.
But before he could get up to speed, Bruce or Hulk rather, leapt from a building top, snatching Tony out of the air and using the same building to slow their landing.
Upon touch down, he tossed Tony down and ripped off his mask.
"Stark," Nat said worriedly " is he?"
But before anyone answered her, Stark awoke with a sharp intake of air. "Whoa. That was, that was terrifying. What happened?" He gasped, eyes wide.
"We won." Steve answered, looking around that the mess that beheld them.
Ten minutes later they were all surrounding an unconscious Loki.
His eyes fluttered open and he said, "I'd very much like that drink now."
Four hours later:
Loki was in their custody.
Y/n was pacing in front of his his holding cell.
He couldn't say or do anything, for both his mouth and hands were bound. So he just stared at her and she stared at him. There were all sorts of things she wanted to say to him, and even worse things she wanted to do to him, but her mind kept flashing back to that moment when she hadn't taken the kill when she had the chance to. She had failed... Failed herself. Failed her dad.
But she wouldn't fail this time. All it took was opening his cell, she'd use the syringe she "borrowed" from the medbay and he'd be gone. No one would be the wiser. No one would care.
But every time she raised her hand to the button that would open the door. She stopped. Could she kill Thor's brother when the fighting had stopped? Yes. She was about to press the button when the door to the containment room opened. It was Steve.
"Y/n...." He said hesitantly. "What are you doing?" Y/n looked from Steve to Loki and back again. "I -" Steve suddenly understood, his jaw set, he strood into the room, grabbed her by her good arm and pulled her harshly from the room.
They walked in silence, Steve pulling her along until he found a space he didn't feel others would easily hear them. Shutting the door, he turned on her. "Y/n, I'm only going to ask this once more. Where you doing what I think you were doing?" He asked, his tone serious and gruff. Y/n hadn't known Steve Roger's for long but she could tell he was livid.
She dropped her gaze, feeling guilty. "Nearly." She mumbled.
"Y/n.." He sighed, raking a hand through his hair.
"He killed my father, Steve. I... I know it was wrong. Deep down, I knew I couldn't do it. But I won't lie. I wanted to."
"I know. I know he killed your father, Y/n. But remember who you're father was. If you went through with that, are you really any different than Loki? Because the moment we start crossing lines because we feel justified in doing so. We're no different than the guys we're working to stop. Is that what your dad would have wanted?" He asked harshly.
Y/n met his eyes which were boring through her like liquid metal. Biting her lip she slid down against the wall until she was seated on the floor.
"You're right... Dad's soul was pure. It was all black and white. I guess, I guess, since I'm adopted, I didn't inherit that." Y/n said, picking at her sleeve. Steve sighed, and then he came to sit next to her. "Look, a lasp in judgment doesn't make you a bad person."This sort of thing gets around. I nearly killed a prisoner. How does that look?"
"Like you're a daughter grieving the loss of her father." Steve said, turning to look at her. "I understand. My, um, my best friend, Bucky. I lost him on a mission, back in my time. There was nothing I could do to save him... but that didn't stop me from feeling all the guilt, shame, anger, or heartbreak. I actually killed the guy responsible, but it didn't make it any better." He said his voice much lower now. " I know I don't know exactly how you feel, but I can at least empathize with you." She met his gaze, and suddenly he wasn't Captain America, super soldier. He was Steve, the man.
They just sat there a moment, saying nothing, an almost comfortable silence settling in.
"And this won't get around." Steve finally said "why? You have to-" "I don't have to do anything. As far as I'm concerned, nothing happened. This is the end of it." Y/n was shocked. Everything she knew about this man was that he was by the book on absolutely everything and yet here he was bending the rules for her. Why?
"I - I don't know what to say"
"You don't have to say anything. I like your style, y/n. I'd be proud to work with you again." He said standing up and giving her a hand. "Now, let's go send this little god home with his big god brother."
They all stood around, watching as Thor pulled Loki along and then the two were warped back home.
The Avengers all looked at each other, noting. It was time for a break.
Steve walked over to his bike, but before he got on, he called, "Hey y/n," y/n, who had just gotten into her own car, rolled down her window. "Yes?"If you ever need someone to, I don't know, talk to. I'll be around." Steve said, offering a smile. "I'll remember that Captain."
(( I say potentially part one because if this is well received I have ideas to use the same y/n in the Winter Soilder, Civil War etc. Let me know what you think!!))

Context and set-up are so important in storytelling
If I randomly see the finale in Avengers: Endgame where they all come out of the glowing circles, I don't feel much
If I reach that scene after a rewatch of the entire Infinity Saga, I tear up every single time. And it's because all the context and all the building up to it
You can't just throw a cool line or a cool scene into the story, or even a dramatic character death. "And I am Iron Man" would fall flat if not for the movies that came before.
If you want ✨cool stuff✨ you have to put in ✨the work✨
And that, dear Hollywood/Disney/whoever, means having a solid plan and doing the work to actually build up those cool images you want to use as trailer fodder and tiktok promo. No one cares about an epic one-liner if you didn't do the plot and character work
And that's tedious. It's the stuff that leads to 5 coffees at 3 am with a whiteboard covered in plot points. It requires multiple revisions and writers being allowed to cook without marketing teams and executives breathing down their necks saying "this other popular movie did this trope so make it happen. Just shove it in somewhere"
I hear new writers say that they're killing off a character when the story gets boring so the reader will feel something, but that character death won't do anything if the 300 pages leading up to it didn't pave the road.
If you want a grand dramatic scene that audiences will remember, you need to start working on it from the very first page

In Third Place...
Meeting The Cast
Tumblr media
Pairing: Chris Evans x GN!Reader, Avengers Cast x GN!Reader (Platonic)
Request: Hello! Could I please request a Chris Evans X Male Reader, where the MCU cast meet Chris' husband for the first time, Chris' husband is shy N stuff, trying to make a good impression. But turns out that the MCU is even more nervous and absolutely love him! They actually form a really strong bond and he's part of the family. He can (for sure) be seen on set, bringing Chris actual food. Omg! Imagine him making food for everyone on set, cause they saw what he brought Chris and were jealous XD so much Fluff!
Genre: Fluff
Author Note: You guys must hate too me, apologies for disappearing. I've just experiencing a creative block and I haven't been able to write anything for awhile and the fact that I'm in my exam week does not help. I just wanted to write something that I'll be satisfied with but it hasn't happened until now. Again, so sorry for making you wait so long, I love you all for your support and I hope you enjoy my first Headcanon, feel free to give notes because I would like to get better at writing these and writing more of them.
It all started on the set of the movie ‘Knives Out’ where Y/n was the lead wardrobe stylist and had the chance to meet all the cast members and more particularly, Chris Evans.
Their relationship went from business casual to something more personal. They went out more often and hung out at their houses until they started to develop feelings for each other.
The casual hang outs became dates and they went from being best friends to boyfriends. Their relationship continued for a year before Chris learned that he was utterly in love with Y/n prompting the idea to propose.
Y/n and Chris had officially been engaged and living together but their dream wedding was halted by the pandemic so they had a very short ceremony with only important family members. Y/n had officially taken Evans as a surname.
As things began to ease, in terms of the lockdown and protocols, Chris was able to return back to set and continue working on his movie, Avengers: Endgame. The cast was aware of Chris’ marriage and were insistent on meeting the person who made Captain America happy.
A dinner time conversation later, Y/n had agreed to come on to the set to meet the cast. They were a bit anxious but more excited than ever to meet the people Chris had always spoken about.
Meanwhile on set, “No Tom, you can’t wear your suit to meet Y/n.” Scarlett reprimanded as everyone was anxiously fixing themselves up for the arrival of Y/n Evans. “Maybe the original Avengers should introduce themselves first, they’re more likely to recognize us first?” RDJ offered but this only sparked arguments across the cast.
The arguments ceased when a whistle was heard and their attention was on Chris who had his arm wrapped around his partner and shaking his head at his fellow castmates. Y/n wore a sweet smile letting out a cough to cover the laughter that wanted to escape.
“You must be Y/n! Chris gushes about you all the time.” “He never stops.” Sebastian and Anthony said as they approached Chris’ partner bringing him into a friendly hug. This continued as the rest of the cast introduced themselves as jokes and laughter were shared, Chris was happy to see his two families coming together.
Y/n had visited the set more frequently, bringing all kinds of snacks and drinks, occasionally bringing homemade food and enough for the cast, mainly because they would get jealous and beg Chris to start sharing.
The Marvel fan base even knew Y/n, it all started when Lizzie took a selfie with them and posted on Instagram sooner or later, the entire cast tried to get as many selfies with Y/n as possible.
They had hang outs, movie nights, and shopping sprees. Y/n had been accepted by the entire cast as their Honorary Avenger.

The Guardians of the Galaxy films . . . . .  I struggle to find the words as to how much they mean to me, which is saying a lot because I’m probably the wordiest motherfucker I know. In a franchise like the MCU that has become so oversaturated and so bland with every release that it has made the term “Superhero fatigue” prominent, the Guardians manage to stand out with their immense heart and exceptional film making. Guardians 3 is no exception. While it is a *slight* departure from the norm established by the prior films as it’s much darker and more mature, it still manages to be so incredibly fun and uplifting. In my opinion, given what James Gunn had to work with after Infinity War and Endgame (we will get to those in a minute) it truly was the perfect conclusion for all of these characters.
In celebration and tribute to these films that I love so much, I thought rather than doing a long film review of 3 like I usually do, I’d take a look back at the Guardians film franchise as a whole and see what it has meant for the evolution of these characters as well as the general impact on the Marvel cinematic universe. In this retrospective we will be covering Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, Avengers: Infinity War/Endgame, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, and finally, closing it off with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
Tumblr media
When this film was coming out, it seemingly had everything going against it. It had to establish 5 of the most obscure characters in Marvel’s catalogue all in one film. It had to sell the guy from Parks and Recreation as the leading superhero. It had to compete with the first Avengers, which many called the best superhero movie of all time when it premiered. It had to take a gamble on whether or not the audience could buy the idea of a talking Raccoon being in a superhero movie. If this franchise was to survive, it had to be GOOD.
And boy was it.
It was so good that became a box office hit. Suddenly, these obscure marvel characters of which only the most dedicated of fans would be aware of skyrocketed into household name territory. Baby Groot merch started flying off the shelves. Everyone was talking about how funny and heartfelt the film was, because it is! All the characters were so lovable and hilarious. It was colorful, dramatic, fun, inventive. Chris Pratt was SO charismatic as the leading man. The soundtrack was iconic: a meticulously and appropriately picked set of 70s classics. It just goes to show that when your product is quality enough, anything is possible.
The success of the Avengers may have paved the way for all the crossover potential of the MCU, but the Guardians had set the tone not just for themselves but have captured a charm that the rest of the MCU has been attempting to capture ever since . . . for better or worse. Yeah, unfortunately the lesson the MCU and many other films’ took from the Guardians success is that the audience will eat it up as long as it has a soundtrack of all hits and a buttload of quips, but there’s more to it than that. The soundtrack can’t just be a collection of randomly selected pop hits: it has to be tonally appropriate for the scene and thematic to the plot. And the character’s can’t always just be quipping for the hell of it: it has to be driven by character. So yeah, this film inadvertently set a bit of an unfortunate precedent going forward, but that doesn’t change the fact that it kicks ass. Quality will ALWAYS have its bargain bin imitators.
The film’s biggest strength is how it sells such a big cast of new characters through their chemistry with each other. Backstory, character arc and personality traits aren’t enough in a vacuum: they are at their best when put in contrast with opposing characters. Even though these guys don’t spend *that* much time with each other initially, you get a very quick sense that they were arguably meant to band together. It makes the climax of this film where they join together to share the energy of the power stone all the more satisfying.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 (2017)
Tumblr media
So while I do certainly love the first film, I would probably say it was also the most flawed. It had a decent theme about the value of friendship and the importance of coming together, especially when you have no one, it was definitely lacking in some places. The biggest example I can think of is its villain. Ronin is lame, there’s no getting around it. He didn’t tie in to the arc of the main characters by any stretch. He wasn’t important in the grand scheme of things. He doesn’t have any particularly memorable lines (other than giving the group their team name). He was merely an obstacle for the heroes to dispose of. On top of that, while Nebula and Yondu were both present in the film, they weren’t given a whole lot of characterization just yet. They were either more mere obstacles or plot devices to further things along, with any further depth merely hinted at.
Vol 2 manages to radically improve where the first one fell short. Ego is the main villain this time around and HE. IS. AWESOME. Cunningly manipulative. Disgustingly charming. Even more disgustingly evil. The dude was a breath of fresh air at a time when many marvel villains were just so forgettable. In my opinion, Ego is still the best villain in the trilogy (we will get to the High Evolutionary later). His intimate ties with Peter’s arc about moving forward and finding new family (not to mention the definition of family) was simply fabulous. Plus Rocket’s side story where he bonds with Yondu was particularly entertaining too. Also, Nebula and Gamora’s relationship was a great source of entertainment. This is the other way Vol 2 improves upon its predecessor: Yondu and Nebula are becoming fully realized. Yondu provides a noble sacrifice that redeems him of his abusive ways while also confirming that he always loved Peter, whereas Nebula gets to shine as, in my opinion, the best female character in the MCU. She’s tragic, she’s ruthless, she’s badass . .  but she’s also very, very funny. Other MCU writers could take notes from this because she has adjectives to her personality besides synonyms for “strong” or “capable”. Not to mention we get Mantis in this movie. She was fantastic chemistry with Drax from here on out and only brings more to the group’s already stellar dynamic. This movie is great and is an improvement on the first one in every way.
The film also establishes Adam Warlock in its after credits scene. Given the timeline of the MCU and my knowledge of who Adam Warlock is in the comics, I was expecting him to be prepared in time for an appearance in Infinity War and Endgame considering he’s basically a primary adversary for Thanos. But, among many things, Infinity War and Endgame did not really capitalize on what the Guardians established as well as it should have. Which brings us to . . .
Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Endgame (2019)
Tumblr media
Sigh . . . . . so this is around where the quality of the Guardians’ involvement in the MCU goes down. Don’t get me wrong, I like Infinity War and Endgame. I became a 10 year old boy in my seat when Cap lifted Mjolnir too.
But MAN did these movies rob the Guardians.
This is the movie where Thanos makes his move as the big baddie of the infinity saga. The Guardians, indisputably, have more history with Thanos than any other characters in the MCU. Thanos was introduced officially (not as an after credits scene or easter egg) in Guardians 1. Drax’s whole arc for a while was about wanting revenge on Thanos for the death of his family. TWO OF THE GUARDIANS ARE THANOS’ DAUGHTERS. And yet . . . . not only is almost the entirety of the team blipped away for 5 years with the only survivors being Rocket and Nebula, but when they all come back NONE of them get their own chance for licks against Thanos. Drax never gets his long awaited revenge. Neither Gamora nor Nebula have a chance to tag team Thanos the way Cap and Bucky tag teamed Iron Man. Quill never gets a chance to make up for his error that got half the universe killed. SCARLET WITCH GETS HER OWN CHANCE AT REVENGE AGAINST THANOS BUT NOT THE GUARDIANS??? ARE YOU SHITTING ME?!
Also, in my opinion, they reduce Peter Quill to a complete dullard punching bag in these movies. I know Peter is supposed to be a manchild and is somewhat dumb, but it’s like the Russo brothers have a hate boner for him or something.
The line “I’m not from earth, I’m from Missouri” makes literally no goddamn sense. Peter was 8 when he was abducted by the Ravagers. He would have to be Patrick star levels of dumb to not know that Missouri is on earth. Not to mention all the other Guardians treat him with absolutely no respect. They have SO much more respect for him than that. And then in Endgame all he gets is being a punching bag as quick jokes and then immediately going back to being belittled by Thor.
Speaking of Thor, they tease at the end of Endgame that Thor becomes a temporary Guardian . . . and then he leaves the group basically immediately in Thor: Love and Thunder (which is its own trashfire that’s for sure). That movie has weird characterization of Quill too as it essentially shows him at the end of the journey that Thor is supposed to take . . . but then in the Guardians films Gunn still has him struggling with missing Gamora. Yeah, I can’t help but feel like the rest of the MCU really messed with Gunn’s plans for these characters. He now has to make lemonade out of the fact that most of them have been gone for five years, Gamora and Quill’s relationship has hit the reset button, Thanos is now dead which means Drax effectively has no direction and Adam Warlock wasn’t brought out when he should have been. To bring it back, Gunn would have to make some serious lemonade.
Luckily he succeeded.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (2022)
Tumblr media
So this was a funny and sweet little movie to tide us over while we wait for Guardians 3. Not entirely necessary, but damn if it isn’t fun. Drax and Mantis are saddened that Quill is still struggling with how much he misses Gamora. On top of that, they learn that they’ve entered the time where Terrans celebrate this little holiday known as “Christmas”. So they have the idea of cheering Quill up by throwing him a big Christmas party and getting him the greatest gift of all . . .abducting and brainwashing his hero, Kevin Bacon. That premise alone is worth checking it out at least once because the Hijinks that ensues is pretty damn funny. But the movie also surprisingly establishes from rather important elements. For one, it introduced Cosmo the telekinetic spacedog as a major character rather than a quick cameo, who will be important for Guardians 3. For another, it reveals that Mantis is Quill’s half sibling as she too was a child of Ego. Sadly this doesn’t shake up the dynamic of the group THAT much, but it IS mentioned in Guardians 3 in a way that furthers the plot along nicely.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 (2023)
Tumblr media
So here we are at the conclusion for this team of Guardians. After almost a decade of entertaining us with their antics, Star-Lord, Gamora, Nebula, Drax, Groot, Mantis and Rocket are going on one last ride before their stories come to an end. I was simultaneously so excited and so scared coming into this movie. It’s basically the only thing in the MCU I give a shit about at this point and I got so attached to these characters that I simply couldn’t take the idea of any of them dying. Gunn knew how attached we all are and played a mean trick on us. All the marketing made it seem like they were going to straight up die at the end. My heart couldn’t take that.
Fortunately nobody *actually* dies. Most of the team just does into retirement, which is also sad but much preferable. Peter goes back to earth to get back in touch with his grandfather. Mantis sets out on her own to discover what she’s all about. Drax and Nebula become an adopted dad and mom to a whole race of kids (which is hilarious, I want to see that dynamic in action). This version of Gamora finds a new home as a Ravager. And Rocket, who is the star this time around, becomes the captain of a new generation of Guardians alongside Groot as a returning member.
This film is quite a radical departure from how Guardians usually does things. While the first two had a soundtrack comprised entirely of 70s hits in reference to Quill’s relationship with his mom, this film starts integrating 90s hits, and I like to think of this as Quill’s evolution as he starts moving forward rather than living in the past. This film is also MUCH darker and sadder. AND more violent. Like . . . holy shit the drama is cranked up to 11 and the film comes out literally swinging in the first 10 minutes. But don’t worry: it still manages to have a lot of classic Guardians fun, especially with it having the best action of any Guardians film BY FAR.
By far the biggest change is that Rocket and Quill switch roles, in more literal ways than one. In the first two films, Quill was the center focus whereas Rocket was something of a deuteragonist (secondary protagonist). But here, Rocket takes center stage and Quill’s storyline serves to further the themes of Rocket’s in a different way. Considering the mess that Gunn was left with after Infinity War, Endgame and Love and Thunder, I gotta say: He made some sweet ass lemonade. Peter and Gamora’s reset relationship resolved in a way that was thematically appropriate for the film (I.E. accepting things as they are instead of trying to bend it to fit your way). Drax was given direction back as a father rather than a destroyer, which is what motivated his revenge arc to begin with, resolving the fact that after Thanos died he didn’t have much to do. Mantis was given a lot of time to shine. Even Adam Warlock had a role in this film that wasn’t completely pointless. He got the ball rolling with his attack on Rocket, he tied in to the theme of self acceptance and discovery over being told what you ought to be, and he saved Peter at the end, solidifying his place as a next gen Guardian. He was definitely childlike, but he was literally born yesterday so that tracks, and again, only further serves the theme of self discovery and actualization.
Also, one of my more minor complaints of past Guardians films is that action has been rather lackluster. The first Guardians film suffers from sporadic editing and uninspired cinematography while the second film pushed comedic value over cathartic action (except for the Yondu arrow scene, that was sick). Guardians 3 goes SOOOO HARD with its action and it’s fucking amazing. All the Guardians got significant upgrades in their abilities on screen. Drax very much earns his reputation as “the Destroyer” in this one, which is a relief because ever since Vol 2 he’s sort of been reduced to just a walking punchline. Mantis proved how scary she can be with her empath powers. Nebula showed off how unstoppable of a force she can become. The hallway scene is the best action scene in the whole MCU, no contest. The Guardians dogpiling on the High Evolutionary was so fucking satisfying.
Also, High Evolutionary was a great villain. A bit hammy for my taste in select places and ultimately I think Ego is a stronger villain overall, but it was cool to see a villain that is 1000% scumbag and it makes him getting his comeuppance all the more satisfying.
This film will leave you crying like a baby over the drama of a little Raccoon. It’s fantastic.
Conclusion
Tumblr media
So yeah. The MCU all in all has been quite the spectrum of quality, with some films being much, much, MUCH better than others, especially in recent years. But the Guardians have been consistently amazing quality from beginning to end . . . as long as Gunn is in charge, that is. This team of Guardians is where Gunn says goodbye to the MCU and the new team (plus Star-Lord’s new adventures) will likely be handled by a different director going forward. I’ll keep an open mind about how well that goes, but regardless, all I can say is thank you James Gunn for these incredible films that introduced us to such lovable characters.

<<call me anything that isn't a slur/insult, I wanna see what folks come up with
<<pronouns are: surprise me >8)
<<postin' some of the little worldstuffs I made here 8)
<<notes:
<<(most of my original posts are just weird memes so watch out if you're expecting worldbuilding or something)
List of current fandoms and corresponding AUs (under the cut):
Monday Fight Rankin (possibly an ex-name) - Ghost Town
Based on the lore around spirits. The main characters are chilling in a once-abandoned village (possibly fishing-based, but I haven't decided.) now inhabited by spirits called Ghost Town (literally). Mostly hidden from the rest of the world to prevent disruption of their peace, but regularly interact with the regular human-inhabited village nearby.
Rainworld: Hearth AU
Set around/after the Saints campaign, a still living iterator managed to move on from the Triple Affirmative, now taking care of a slugcat and scavenger colony, and is trying to rally other groups under her since y'know, the world is a freezing wasteland now.
Undertale- Tingetale
A hidden monster village on the surface managed to survive due to the power of said tinged souls but ended up getting discovered after the underground monsters were freed, now they have to adapt to modern society, or rather had.
Homestuck- Aphtraldis
Trolls are a bit different now, especially the hemospectrum/caste system, part of a group of species called Cinerians and are related to Carapacians through this.
Traditional trolls mostly exist in folklore only, as the Duskhorned.
Solarballs- Rhamnousian System
Set in the far future, in a red giant system, if you check the etymology of Rhamnousia, there are extra hints for lore. Otherwise, they are just chilling as the universe slowly dies.
Flatland- 6 Pals Perspective
Over many years in the past, some flatland refugees managed to escape the 2nd dimension, eventually accumulating. This resulted in the first flatlander village in the 3rd dimension being founded. The story is from the perspective of 6 kids in this village of varying shapes, from a triangle to an octagon. The biggest difference here is the saying "once a line, always a line" no longer holds in the 3rd dimension, the once lines collapsing into simply slimmer versions of shapes (painfully if they weren't born that way), like an in-between of Flatland the Movie and the Film, and everyone is somewhat irregular due to not being built for 3rd-dimensional gravity. Clinical irregularity, (not important anymore either, unless related to something like scoliosis or developmental issues) starts around a 10° deviation but also depends on side amount, basically if it looks lopsided enough, it's lopsided.
Dayshift at Freddys - N/A
Not quite a full AU but an idea where everything stays around the same, except there's a character that can interact with and get possessed by the kiddie ghosts willingly. She has to avenge their deaths or get pestered by them for the rest of her life, which would've been cut short already had The Incident leading to the ghost-seeing been successful.
DND - Whatever the DM (my classmate) calls it
Not my au, just characters but I'd like to spill how ridiculous mine are
The characters I've played as so far are:
A goblin ex-cleric monk (who became a monk because of going through the grilled cheese dimension) named Ooga Booga with freakishly high stats.
And my personal favorite, a tabaxi warlock named Dog who is JUST A KID and WORSHIPS A RAT, he hasn't been used yet actually but guy is literally a poor little meow meow, I got some sad lore for the two of em (even the patron) but I'll reveal that eventually ;) ALSO IN THE GROUP HES IN THERE A GUY THAT SACRIFICES CHILDREN SO PRAY FOR HIM-
Warrior Cats - Fellowship(s) of the Ming(ming)
OH MY GOD HOW COULD I FORGET THIS MY WHOLE SHTICK IS CATS-
Cats live in groups called Fellowships, which are further divided into smaller groups called Sects. There are only two Fellowships, those who live in the west of a mountain called the Nightlongers (not the final name including the other one, it's called that because the mountain blocks any sight of the actual sun for a while), and those who live in the east part are called the Daybracers (I think you can connect the dots)

Dragon Ball Super 031
Tumblr media
When Jaco and Bulma team up, anything could happen!   (Narrator: Nothing happened.)
Tumblr media
Let’s try to go over Bulma’s plan here.  The upcoming Destroyer Invitational Tournament will decide who gets control over the Super Dragon Balls.  If Champa wins, he plans to wish for the Earth of Universe 7 to switch places with the dead Earth of Universe 6.  If Beerus wins... who knows?  But Bulma doesn’t want to find out.  Since Champa is the God of Destruction from U6, Bulma believes that there’s a second set of Super Dragon Balls in Universe 7.  So she aims to track them down and use them to undo any destructive wishes Beerus or Champa might have in mind.
To do this, she needs a radar powerful enough to detect the Super Dragon Balls, and she also needs to take it to the center of the universe, where she can use the radar’s range will be as effective as possible.  So she calls in Jaco to take her there.  Except Jaco works for the Galactic Patrol.  Their ships aren’t designed to cover the vast distances from one galaxy to another.  They only operate inside of the one galaxy they’re in.
Okay, a couple things.  First, I like that this detail is acknowledged in the story.  A lot of sci-fi/space fantasy franchises fail to recognize just how big space is.  Well, specifically, I’m thinking of DC and Marvel Comics.  The Green Lantern Corps divided the universe into 3600 sectors, then assigned a handful of GL’s to patrol each one, and somehow seven or eight of them always wind up sticking close to one planet in one galaxy in one sector.   If I remember right, their headquarters is located at the center of the universe, and Hal Jordan just zips back and forth like it’s no big deal. He also constantly runs into colleagues from other sectors, but, again, space is huge.  Aside from staff meetings on Oa, you would expect him to live out his entire lifespan without ever seeing a Green Lantern from another space sector.  Meanwhile, all of Marvel’s big intergalactic powers rule over entire galaxies.  The Skrulls have the Andromeda Galaxy, and the Kree have theirs and the Shi’ar have theirs.  I’ve lost track of all that lore, so maybe Marvel introduced some shitty new aliens called the Dipshittors to build on that concept, but the point is that the Avengers and Fantastic Four will just fly out to fight those guys whenever it’s convenient.
Star Trek and Star Wars get it right, because those stories take place in one galaxy.  There’s like one episode where the Enterprise went to another galaxy and it was this insane thing that happened.  Maybe the new shows play with that idea more, but fuck the new Trek shows.  Scott Bakula’s dog can kiss my ass.  The point is that because those shows are confined to one galaxy, they don’t spent a lot of time talking about how impractical it is to go to a different galaxy.  It just never gets brought up.
But that leads me to my second thing I want to talk about: Jaco seems to imply that Universe 7 is a lot bigger than we’ve heard in the past.  Maybe it’s just the dub, and I’m in no mood to go back and check the subtitles, but he talks about the multitudes of other galaxies in the universe, and how unbelievably far away it all is, and I feel like that conflicts with the cozy four-galaxy scenario introduced in Dragon Ball Z.   Earth is in the North Galaxy, overseen by the King Kai of the North, while the East, South, and West Galaxies are overseen by their own King Kais.
Then again, I’m not sure how that was all established.  It comes up in the original Broly movie, which is mostly set in the South Galaxy, which all of the characters are able to reach without much trouble.  It also comes up in the Otherworld Tournament arc, because they have to explain who the other three Kais are.
But I don’t know that it gets much play in the original manga.  Like, South Kai appears in the manga, and the Grand Kai is mentioned, and Kid Buu’s origin story refers to other Supreme Kais who used to work alongside Shin.  But I’d have to check to see if there’s any mention of just four galaxies.  Maybe it’s a Toei invention.
Tumblr media
Anyway, Jaco suggests an alternative: Visit the world of Master Zuno and ask him about the Super Dragon Balls.  I don’t see how that solves anything, though.  Zuno’s gimmick is that he knows everything, and he certainly seems to know everything, but even if he tells Bulma exactly where the Super Dragon Balls are, they could still lie far beyond the North Galaxy, and so they’re completely out of her reach.   Also, the SBD’s are the size of planets.  How was she planning to gather them all together?
Tumblr media
Now, most of this episode is Jaco making cracks about Bulma’s age, and Bulma beating the absolute shit out of him for it.  Also, he tries to turn the tables on her by accelerating his ship really fast, but he winds up making himself nauseous as well.  They seem to utterly despise one another, and it’s not much fun watching them interact.
Tumblr media
I mean, for all intents and purposes, this episode is a direct sequel to the Jaco manga.  There’s even a flashback to the chapter where Jaco met Bulma, and she repaired his ship and flew it around Professor Omori’s island.
Tumblr media
But the Jaco in that story was a lot more calm and collected, more of a detached observer of humanity.  We see him here freaking out about Tights’ little sister joyriding in his ship, but I’m pretty sure he was only mildly irritated about it in the manga.  The most upset Jaco ever got in the manga was whenever that police sketch came up.
Tumblr media
But now, in Dragon Ball Super, he’s become this cowardly little twerp.  At the beginning of this episode, he vents his frustrations with a little target practice, and accidentally destroys a space monument, which he tries to pin on a wanted fugitive in the area.  And that seems authentic for Jaco, but when he gets to Earth, all he does is try to find some excuse to leave, and when that doesn’t work he trades barbs with Bulma and lets her whoop his ass.
Tumblr media
Which is a shame, because there was something much more humanist about the original Jaco story.  It was about how the characters grew after working together and helping one another.  Jaco’s kind of a dick, and Omori was kind of a bitter misanthrope, but they still cared about one another because their better nature overcame their anti-social tendencies.
This episode might have tried to hearken back to that theme, but it just doesn’t happen.  When they get to Zuno’s planet, Bulma and Jaco discover there’s a seven year waiting list just to ask Zuno a question.  Then they see this red frog dude show up for his appointment, and Jaco recognizes him as the crook he heard about earlier.
So Jaco has a choice to make.  If he arrests this guy, he can open a spot on Zuno’s schedule and skip to the front of the line.  However, bringing in this frog guy might expose his lie about the destruction of that space monument.  On the other hand, the frog dude recognizes Jaco as a space cop, but he’s waited seven years for this appointment, and he decides to just play it cool and hope Jaco doesn’t recognize him.
Tumblr media
And Jaco... lets him go.  The frog dude was wanted for dine-and-dash crimes, so it’s not like he’s a violent offender or anything.  In fact, the reason he came to this planet was to ask Zuno how to dine-and-dash without getting caught.  That’s how into dine-and-dash this guy is.  For all his bluster, Jaco isn’t a model patrolman, and besides, this is his day off.  And Bulma’s mission is her problem, not his, so he doesn’t want to risk getting in trouble with his superiors over this.
But then Bulma tells him they’ll just have to go home and take their chances on Beerus’ wish, and that spurs him into action.
Tumblr media
Frog dude tries to take a hostage, but Jaco defeats him with ease, and Zuno’s attendants give him an immediate audience with Zuno out of gratitude.  This s basically the climax of the episode, and it’s presented like some character developing moment for Jaco, except... it really doesn’t work.  Maybe he took action because he didn’t like the idea of letting Bulma down, or he couldn’t stand the thought of failing a mission, or something like that.  But it looks more like he was more frightened of Beerus using the Super Dragon Balls than he was of getting in trouble at work.   And that’s not much of a conflict to build your story around.
Tumblr media
As for Zuno, well, he’s another alien like his attendants, only he has an even bigger head.  You have to kiss him before he’ll answer your questions.  Since Jaco’s a man, Zuno only gives him one question.  Jaco wastes it on a pointless demonstration.  He asks Zuno what Bulma’s bust size is, and he not only gives and answer, but extrapolates what Bulma’s bust size used to be before she got older.   He should have asked why the animators keep drawing Bulma’s blue jeans so weird in every episode.
Tumblr media
As for Bulma, she gets three questions, because she’s a lady, and Zuno is horny, I guess.  So this is just the same gag they used thirty years ago with Master Roshi.  Bulma wastes a question asking if Zuno will answer her questions.  Then she asks him to tell her about the Super Dragon Balls, and when he’s finished, she summarizes it all and asks if she got it right, and Zuno counts that as her third question.    Bulma offers to kiss him some more, but her time is up.
Tumblr media
So the only useful information that came out of the whole trip was this: There’s only one set of Super Dragon Balls, which are scattered across Universes 6 and 7.  So Bulma’s plan was doomed from the start, because Champa already has most of the one set secured, and there’s no other SDB’s out there to use.  This also means that Champa must have been trespassing into Universe 7 to collect the SDB’s, since at least some of them must have been there.  But that hardly matters, since we already knew Champa had been lurking around behind the scenes.   We saw him destroy a planet, and then Beerus ran into him during the Golden Frieza battle.  Also, Beerus doesn’t care, since he plans to win the Super Dragon Balls in this tournament anyway.
Tumblr media
So this was all a pointless aside.  I guess this shot of Goku copping a squat with Jaco is kind of neat.  They didn’t interact much during the Res F stuff, so this is the first indication that they’ve met.
Tumblr media
Also, Bulma gives Jaco some dairy products for the road, so I guess they don’t hate each other that much.
Tumblr media
Oh, and this is the episode where Goku and Vegeta talk about how they like their feisty, feisty wives, and Vegeta says it’s because Saiyans are genetically predisposed to this.  And Piccolo’s astonished to hear this, and I really don’t know why he, of all people, would care.

Since I cannot get that Mummy (1999) dreamling AU out of my brain, here comes my reflections on who's who in said AU (for “The Mummy” and “The Mummy Returns”):
Hob would obviously be Rick (ex soldier, survivor, knows how to fight, was probably arrested while he was drunk in a bar, himbo, so in love with Dream, accepts to lead the way to Hamunaptra in spite of the fact he nearly died there the last time only because Dream asked (and saved his life but he probably would have done it anyway), basically would follow Dream to the end of the world (including the Scorpion King’s lost Oasis))
Dream would be Evie (smart, kind of awkward, likes to be right, actually passionate (although he tries to keep a cold/stiff demeanor), so in love with Hob (though doesn’t want to acknowledge it at first), doesn’t know how to fight but would still fight anyone and anything that dares threaten Hob - also he always dresses in black no matter the weather and has a pet Raven named Matthew because I said so!)
Death would be Johnathan (yes they don’t exactly have the same temper but she too has a sense of humour - and kind of likes to (gently) annoying her brother. She is friendly, adaptive and adventurous. She found they Key to Hamunaptra, she’s the reason Dream and Hob met in the first place, and she probably knows what’s up between her brother and their new friend right from the start.)
Roderick Burgess as Imhotep (who was condemn to endure the Curse of Hom Dai as a punishment for trying to revive his dead son (and tries to do it again when he return as an immortal creature)
The Corinthian as a mixt between Beni and Dr. Allen Chamberlain (less of a soldier and more of an Egyptologist. Never met Hob but shares history with Dream (they strongly dislike each other). He is smart and suave and found a way to Hamunaptra by himself (probably assassinating a few people in the process) and leads the American team at least partly to piss Dream off. The American team is made of some of the Collectors (except they are not serial killers but greedy archeologists))
Lucienne as Dr.Terence Bey (curator of the Cairo Museum of Antiquities, secretly member of a society set to prevent Roderick’s return, and Dream’s boss (I just love the idea of Lucienne being the boss in this one!). Oh, yeah, and in this version she survives!)
Ethel Cripps as the warden of Cairo Prison (who accepts to release Hob in exchange for a percentage of whatever riches they may find in Hamunaptra. Her son John Dee may be the one to resurrect Imothep (again) in the second movie in order to avenge her mother if she died during the expedition (and he holds Dream responsible for her dead).
Fiddler's Green as Winston Havelock and Izzy Buttons (who doesn’t die when his plane crashes so he can come back when the mummy returns but this time with a hot-air balloon)
As for Ardeth Bay, I am not quite sure. I thought of Rose (a bit young maybe? and I have no idea what to do with Jed in that scenario...) or maybe Alex Burgess (a descendant of Roderick making sure his ancestor doesn’t come back? but he could as well be a descendant whose ancestors never ceased to try and set Roderick free? (then there could be a subplot where Paul is one of the Medjai fighting to keep Roderick from resurrecting and they could fall in love Romeo and Juliet style?)), but in the end i think Johanna Constantine makes more sense (her job is basically to fight demons and other creatures of the like).
Finally, Lucifer would be no other than the Scorpion King (a powerful king with an entire army at their command...)
Also, In "The Return of the Mummy”, I could see Rose and Jed be distant relatives of Dream and Death (I mean it’s canon!). Jed being passionate about History and Egypt and ending up putting the Bracelet of Anubis on BUT I also really love a version in which Hob ends up wearing the bracelet (tell me he wouldn’t!) and thus gets kidnapped and Dream is REALLY pissed off about it! (in this version, nobody warns Hob that he has to enter the pyramid before the sun sets on the third day so he is all relieved when he gets reunited with Dream (who knows) in the Oasis only for Dream to panic because “why are you stopping to hug me? Start running to that Pyramid!!”). But then I don’t know what roles Rose and Jed could have in the story and I would like to include them!
...and that is all i can think of for now! Don’t hesitate to add if you have other ideas😊

I was asked to elaborate on why I think TVA Loki is the most comic book accurate version of Loki in the MCU, so I wanted to throw my thoughts out here. For those of you who don't know this already, the first Thor movie was based off of Robert Rodi's Marvel graphic novel Loki: (Blood Brothers). This is a book set in a timeline where Loki, the God of evil -- AKA Classic Loki -- takes over Asgard and we see his abusive childhood at the hands of Odin and the Asgardians unfurl via a series of flashbacks throughout the book whilst Loki contemplates his next move. And, as we all know, that laid the framework for Loki's character as a sympathetic antihero in the MCU.
But, as far as I know, Loki was not a sympathetic villain in the comics prior to the release of Rodi's Blood Brothers graphic novel in 2005(?). Loki was simply evil just because mischief was his thing and because of misinterpretations of the Norse mythology. So Rodi's novel was written to answer the question, why was Loki evil?
That means that there has never really been an accurate on-screen portrayal of Classic Loki in the MCU. MCU Loki is based off of newer more fleshed out variants that were invented in the 2000s-2010s when someone at Marvel realized they had left the youngest prince of Asgard basically unfinished and Norse mythology is apparently not as black-and-white as the older Thor comics.
So after the 2012 variant of Loki was captured by the TVA fresh from a failed suicide attempt and being tortured and blackmailed by Thanos, essentially drugged by the Mind Stone, and failing to take over Earth the version we then see is Ikol from Loki: Agent Of Asgard.
Tumblr media
This is a still of Ikol -- I-K-O-L -- and Amora, who served as partial inspiration for Sylvie by the way. Ikol was an antihero variant of Loki that was desperate to rewrite his fate and avoid becoming Loki, the God of the evil because Ikol was the aged up version of Kid Loki. Kid Loki, the AVENGER from Young Avengers in case you weren't connecting the dots. Ikol later goes on to become a new Loki variant called Loki, the God of stories who while also an antihero is more of a wild card than Ikol was. But he's still a hero because this is the character who would go on to play mom to America Chavez and to even leading the Avengers. He was also the Loki variant behind the Vote Loki scheme, heads up. So if you're looking for the God of stories in the MCU President Loki is your guy. Which brings me back to the point that TVA Loki is a portrayal of Ikol, which for me was cemented after I reread Agent Of Asgard and watched the first episode of the Loki series. Because Ikol is the most emotionally vulnerable variation of Loki and he's also the one that's most desperate for acceptance. Which is why he's so willing to do anything to rewrite his fate.
Ikol is a Loki that desperately wants to be good.
Ikol was also the first canonically queer and transgender Loki variant in the comics. Lady Loki was technically born in a 2008 Thor arc when Loki used his magic to possess the Goddess Sif. But Ikol was the first Loki to trans his gender and don the form of Lady Loki in the Agent of Asgard books while Loki's bisexuality was cemented in McKenzie Lee's print novel Loki: Where Mischief Lies when Loki had his first love affair with a young mortal man.
And that's why TVA Loki is the most comic accurate Loki✌️

So the thing is Jason never asks Bruce to kill the Joker in UTRH. He asks why Bruce didn't kill him and questions Bruce's slippery slope argument but he doesn't tell Bruce to kill the Joker. Instead he tells Bruce he will kill the Joker and Bruce must choose between allowing him to do so or killing him to stop him. Jason is not asking Bruce to kill the Joker but to accept the killing of the Joker or he must kill the Jason to defend the Joker. 1/2
The sad thing is Bruce throws a Batarang in desperation. It doesn't seem like it is aiming for anything it just happens to hit a wall and ricochet. Also in the original story Jason never sets off a bomb not did he ever intend to set off a bomb. He tied the Joker to a chair with bombs so the Joker would not move while he was fighting Batman. Joker broke free after Jason was struck got his gun and fired at the explosives. Jason only planned for Bruce to do nothing or attack him. 2/2
okay so I will admit I misremembered the dialogue from utrh and that's on me for not getting up to check bc I spent nearly six hours being cat-upon but hey I have the comic next to me now and I'm even using a laptop instead of the shitty chrome mobile browser to type this up
so basically yes you are correct and I misremembered what happens in the scene as jason asking him to shoot either jason to stop him or the joker to kill him and while that's a great scene that's not the scene that actually happened. I was referencing the comic, not the movie; the movie's good, but I like the comic much better and I thought I was clear I was talking about the comic, so I'm not sure why the aside about the bomb was necessary, I don't really have much to say about the change in this context
I do feel more confused in a way now, though, as to your point, bc if it's about the issue of morality, either there is no difference between inaction (not preventing a killing) and action that leads to the same result (killing the same person) or there is and the inaction is better, so morally like. the same exact things are standing in between jason and being right? or even like we should be more on jason's side?
bc again from my actual irl pov not only is killing the joker wrong, but inaction that leads to his death is equally wrong - you are morally compelled as a human being to do whatever you can to stop the evil that is right in front of you as long as you are capable of it, and bruce is obviously capable of it. but within the fictional framework we're in, jason is asking his father to care about him. that's all he cares about. he places himself in a position where bruce can either admit he's going to let jason kill the joker, kill jason, or, unspoken but very real, he can kill the joker himself. but putting all that aside...
the reason he's doing this is still like what I said in the last ask, "there is no line drawn for jason between the fact that bruce didn’t avenge him and the fact that bruce didn’t prevent other people from dying". If anything, this idea is stronger when jason is just asking him to do the same thing he did before: let others die through inaction.
so yeah, factually I misremembered some of the important dialogue from this scene. but like, emotionally? jason still cares that bruce didn't kill the joker, and he still wants bruce to know why the joker is dying at his hands. the joker isn't going to die in some anonymous alleyway and be left to rot without jason confronting bruce first. because at least in utrh a random drug dealing pimp who's making everyone's life worse being killed by jason is a small favor he can give to the world. the joker, however, is standing, quite literally, in the way between bruce and jason. it's just... it's completely understandable, and within the framework of the story, morally justifiable.
