was thinking about "characters who were forged into weapons from birth" as a trope last night, and how sylvie did not originally fit this pattern- seeming to be loved and treated like a happy child- until she had to forge herself into becoming a weapon to survive and take down the tva on her own. and i have Many Thoughts.

COMMENT REPOST. I wrote this in the comments of one of my posts and I just want to write it here so that more people see it and know what I think about Sylvie and how they could've written her better.
They could've written Sylvie better if they focused of her being goddess of outcasts. While both Loki and Sylvie are outcasts, Asgard disliking Loki because he's different and we'll Sylvie is pretty obvious.
I think that if they focused on Sylvie discovering herself and how it isn't terrible to be a Loki and finding a family in other outcasts then that would been a way better plot for her.
Also not having her entire character focused solely around Loki, despite them being the same person. She seemed to only exist to push Loki down and make him seem like the stupid arrogant variant. I've noticed that with slot of female characters in the MCU, being solely focused around a man.
In conclusion, if marvel had not made Sylki a thing, not made her more powerful than Loki despite not having experience, made reasonable instincts especially after having to survive in the multiverse for thousands of years, changed her look so that she doesn't wear the Loki horns and such despite wanting to distance herself from being a Loki, and focused on her being more of a goddess of outcasts than mischief, finding a family and love within the other outcasts, Loki's, then I would've liked her.
Perhaps Loki and Sylvie could've contrasted each other in that Loki doesn't like to get his hands dirty and lacks conviction in many things, overthinking and doubting himself, whereas Sylvie has no hesitation. They teach each other to have control and that you must think first, and to allow yourself what you want and not performing for other people, such as Odin.

the fact Mobius doesn’t know Loki went to talk to Sylvie to DEFEND HIM and so he must think that Loki didn’t defend him and that he chose to leave him behind to be with Sylvie again. I’m gonna be sick

I love loki as a show because OB just drops a line like “sorry it took me so long to build this extremely advanced piece of technology I’d never seen before, I lost my job and my wife left me lol” and we’re just like yeah. okay. this is usual. carry on.
and also sylvie is a literal norse goddess whose dream life is to work at a mcdonald’s and listen to records like every other mentally ill bisexual with a mullet, and loki is a literal god in love with Some Guy who’s a mustachioed gay jetski enthusiast and an ai clock is in love with the guy who made her and the way time works just makes NO sense but you’re too busy staring at tom hiddleston’s delectable jawline and puppy dog eyes deliver the best performance of his life to even care

Something I have really loved this season with Sylvie is the appreciation of the ordinary. Living a normal life was her dream, and she soaks up every moment, like each are a precious gem. She has a job in a fast food place, and she loves it and takes pride in it. She’s got a coworker that she can chat with, a bartender who knows her name, a record seller who calls her a regular and recommends her music. And to her, all these little things, the fast food and drink and music and the people you connect with as you go about your day, they’re all special. Through the lens of this character, we can take those things that to us might seem mundane, that we might take for granted, and elevate them, and go “this, this is special actually”

Gotta love how Loki's friend group is essentially:
His parole officer who is now his partner (in several ways).
The cop who arrested him.
Some guy from accounting who he once threatened to gut.
The one-man IT department.
An absolutely feral alternate-timeline version of himself.

I literally cannot make this shit up. Sophia Di Martino has obliterated the 'canon' ship. It has sank deeper than the titanic I'm afraid.
She called it "weird", "same person". The kiss was not romantic, meaning she just wanted to "go through with her plan" of killing He Who Remains.
"It's been fun, dude...so see ya" LMAOOO
I would be so embarrassed if Tom said that about Mobius💀
