Chronic pain is. Such an unfathomable concept to people. I’ll be like “hey I’m gonna rest for an hour or two because I reached my limit on walking/exercise and I’m in a lot of pain right now” and then a family member or friend will say”actually this article says that’s really bad for you” and the article in question is always something like “Health Tips for the Average Normal Healthy Person by Mike Ablebodied”
Not to mention finding resources like. I’ll find resources by disabled people and it’ll be like “hey exercise is important, but find a way to workout that uses less spoons, and if you’re having a high pain day then take a break, and here’s some exercises you can do from bed”. And then I’ll find some able bodied persons fibromyalgia tips and it’s like “if you don’t walk sixteen miles every day your muscles will atrophy and you’ll die also your mobility aid makes you weak”. Guess which one of those sources I trust more. And now guess which sources the people around me always seem to find and listen to. Are these kinds of things common or am I just unlucky? Does anyone else have this problem?

I not get the logic some people say of "one day you will be old and in pain and you will think about how you treated disabled people then!" or something along those line..how about respect disabled people now because we are people , not "one day you'll be disabled too and-" no I'm a fucking human being so I deserve respect ..I shouldn't have to work , "contribute to society" etc so how about you start respecting us now?..I not understand why actual disabled people say this type of thing and like "you will be punished and become disabled too and then you'll understand!" nope.. I also shouldn't have to prove my worth to you just because you see disabled people as less

why do disabled people have to be perfect victims to get sympathy? either we’re lazy for rotting in bed all day or we’re faking our disability because disabled people can’t do things. they are disgusted by our blood but love to watch us bleed

I just ran into a despicable side of Tumblr
A side of Tumblr who called aromantic asexuals 'autistic virgins'
A side of Tumblr who sexualised age regression and said it was nothing but a diaper fetish and 'everyone knows this', then told an age regressor to 'kys'
And I blocked everyone I saw who shared those beliefs
Just a little something for aro/aces and age regressors:
You guys are valid and I love you. You don't deserve this harassment. Be you <3
And to call aro/aces 'autistic virgins' is incredibly ableist. Not every aro/ace is autistic, and to use that language on autistic and/or aro/aces is fucking stupid. As an aro/ace audhd person, autistic people aren't what these people think they are. They never will be.
We're all people here, despite what others say.

family members NEED NEED NEED NEED NEED to do research when someone gets an autism/neurodivergent diagnosis because i guarantee you what you think you know is either incorrect or barely scratches the surfaces of what the diagnosis is. and as a personal note i am so so so so SO tired of experiencing ableism in my own family

This was really difficult to record. I know I’ll get a ton of hate for this, but it was a necessary step in healing. Your likes and supportive comments on the video would be much appreciated. 🩷💙💚🧡

Ableists need to get their shit together and realise low empathy ≠ bad person.
People with low empathy because of autism, personality disorders, dissociative disorders, ptsd etc welcome to the club! 'Empaths' aren't special and you're awesome.
Feelings don't make you a good person. Actions do.

i love myself as i am, but sometimes i really just wish i wasn’t disabled. i hate that i’d do anything not to be. my dad said that he knows it’s “uncomfortable.” but uncomfortable is tying your shoes a bit too tight. wearing pants 1 size too small. taking a test when the classroom is too hot or too cold. uncomfortable doesn’t make you suicidal. uncomfortable doesn’t make you give up once in a lifetime opportunities you’ve been working towards for years. my pain is not “uncomfortable.” it’s hell.

The idea that disabled people have to have a billion accessibility tools(in their own home) and therapies to be independent whether they want to or not is inherently and completely part of our current ableist capitalist hell scape <3

an r/fakedisordercringe member made a bait poll o r/autism to see who was self-diagnosed and who was diagnosed. after a while, the poll was posted on r/fakedisordercringe and everyone on there had a fit about self-diagnosed people simply existing.
(note that the amount of people who were self-diagnosed were less than the people who were diagnosed, but fakeclaimers swooped in to say that most people who said they were diagnosed were just faking their diagnosis, because they have to justify their harassment somehow)

I gotta to say I hate the whole "[disability] is my superpower" because no it's not
It's such forced positivity and it's so easy to challenge
Because no, in a world where reading is so expected and necessary that nobody even thinks of it as a basic life skill anymore, you just expect it, dyslexia is not my superpowers
In a world, which is set up for the neurotypicals and doesn't account for other modes of learning, other ways of paying attention, ADHD is not my superpower
In a world, where arithmetic is considered basi, dyscalculia is not giving me special abilities
And in no way does having a disability that makes coordination difficult give me superpowers
Sure, it may not be the end of the world to have these disabilities and I maybe able to cope with them, learn to live with them, and accept them as part of my life
Sure I can feel genuinely neutral and frequently unbothered by them, when given accommodations and support
But in no way are they a superpower
Describing them as such, feels ableist, it feels like you are expecting me to not only be able to overcome them but somehow be even better because of them
And that's just not happening
I am allowed to be frustrated and annoyed when my life is made more difficult by them AND not hate being disabled
They aren't my superpower AND they aren't worth hating myself for
Because they don't make my life unbearable, they don't my life not worth living
They just make my experience of the world different, they just mean that I require support and accommodations and that's okay
I am happy to live my life accomodating for my disabilities
So don't ask me to see them as superpower, because they're not, but they're also not a drain on my resources the way eugenicists want them to be

My heart is broken for Ryan Gainer. No one deserves to die simply for being black and autistic. We must fight for the rights of all autistics, because no one will do it for us.
It is so close to autism awareness month, and my heart hurts knowing just how many people face the same discrimination for simply having a disability and being a POC.
I urge everyone to share and reblog as many posts as they can. Get the internet’s attention! Because we need everyone if we are going to continue the fight for justice for Ryan Gainer.
Rest in Power, Ryan Gainer

Gotta say that I see the most like confusing things that abled say sometimes like..if you're talking about animal rights and how you don't like animals being in cages ..why does your post/picture then compare disabled people to animals and go "change animal word to 'disabled' " and then have a whole lot of bad words that connect to the animal that you are comparing to someone being disabled (some of words from what can remember is "confinement" , "fear, scared" , "claustrophobia" and others , some being worse but can't remember them all, some were more animal specific like how the animals feel being in a cage.. )
and like.. "would you treat someone disabled this way??" or "would put disabled people in a cage?!" why just why
This isn't even the first time I've seen animal activists, environmental people (?) , vegans etc say just ablest stuff to "protect environment/animals" ..
