anyone else listen to any cluster b coded song and get really internally defensive over it because there's no way anybody else relates to it as viscerally as you do. like people listen to it because it's cool, or to cheer up from a break-up, or to pump themselves up before some event, and you're here like
"no actually at all times i have the need to start shit to stave off the ever-consuming boredom. no actually at all times i Am better than everyone in this room. no the egotypicals cannot relate to my entire life being constantly this song. no you don't get it you can't even confidently ask for a ketchup packet. I Am Going To Light A Fire."

I love you people who show kindness because "it's what you're supposed to do". I love you people who show kindess because they like being thanked. I love you people who show kindness because it makes them feel good. I love you people who show kindness because they were shown kindness first. I love you people who show kindness for "selfish" reasons. I love you people who show kindness for the "wrong" reasons. I love you people who show kindness in a body that rejects the very notion. Your kindness is not any lesser because of its motivations. The good you added to the world is just as valuable as someone doing it for the "right" reasons. Your effort is seen. Your effort is valued.

the thing that gets me the most about ableism against pd’s is that ppl will be like “these disorders make you an ASSHOLE!!!!” and then turn around and pretend that other disorders can’t and don’t make you act shitty.
depression and anxiety can make you irritable and snappy. they can cause you to refuse to listen to people and to be distant and withdrawn. they can cause you to seem angry, bitchy, rude, uncaring, etc.
ptsd causes an array of difficulties in forming meaningful relationships. it pretty much shakes up your entire worldview and sense of self a lot of the time. ptsd can cause you to get angry often. it can cause you to yell and scream. it can cause you to withdraw from others, run away, or cut them out. it can cause general changes in demeanor and more cynical worldviews. it can make you seem grouchy, negative, explosive, impolite, difficult, needy, controlling, etc.
and yet when people with personality disorders have symptoms of that nature, suddenly we are irredeemable monsters. when it’s npd, bpd, hpd, or aspd instead of ptsd or depression and anxiety, people suddenly and magically lose the ability to be understanding.
mental illness is an explanation, not an excuse. i firmly believe that. hurting others is never justified simply because you have any disorder.
but if you can be patient with people who have depression, anxiety, ptsd, ocd, or any other more well understood mental illness, you can be patient with us.

If you advocate for mental health awareness, but joke about things like intrusive thoughts and schizophrenia, think it’s disgusting and lazy when people who are depressed can’t do things like showering or cleaning their room, use terms like “narcissistic abuse”, and believe that having ASPD, BPD, or NPD makes someone a bad person, you are not a mental health advocate. You don’t actually care about helping people or de-stigmatizing mental illness, you just want to make yourself feel like you do. You can’t pick and choose what disorders and symptoms are acceptable, and which ones make someone a bad person. Either you support everyone, or you support no one.
and if you’re neurodivergent/mentally ill and you do any of those things, you are part of the problem. there’s no such thing as “good/moral” disorders, or “bad/immoral” disorders. We all need to have each other’s backs.

You guys realise you’re allowed to say autistic right.
Don’t say “neurodivergent” unless you mean the entirety of literally every single mentally ill, developmentally disabled and insane person that that broad ass label implies.
Autistic isn’t a bad word. You can say autistic if you just mean autistic. Because I know for a fact when most of y’all say neurodivergent you don’t mean people with personality disorders or addictions or ptsd or Down syndrome or schizophrenia or psychosis. You mean autistic, and sometimes adhd.
Just say what the fuck you mean y’all.

the overuse of narcissist, psychopath/sociopath being used as an insult in media makes watching basically anything completely unenjoyable. At first it just made me roll my eyes because it negatively effects me, but now i just look at it as lazy and bad writing. Someone in that show is selfish? They're a narcissist. Someone acted aggressively or violently ? They're obviously a psychopath. It's getting really fucking old and boring

Friendly (or unfriendly if you're against this) reminder that this blog is supportive of ALL disorders. This blog does not think ANY disorder inherently makes someone a bad person, and is against any disorder being demonized. This blog wholeheartedly believes that a bad person having a disorder, yes, even if things that are also symptoms of their disorder are part of what caused harm, does not make the disorder a "bad" or "evil" disorder or excuse ableism and demonization directed towards the disorder.
Yes this includes personality disorders
Including npd and aspd
Yes this includes all psychotic disorders & disorders that cause psychotic symptoms
Yes this includes paraphilic disorders. All of them.
Yes this includes disorders that cause, or are even characterized by, attention seeking
Yes this includes disorders that directly have lying as a common symptom
Yes this includes dissociative disorders
Yes this includes any disorder with "gross" symptoms
Yes this includes physical disorders too
Yes this includes disorders that can cause loss of control of any kind- control of speech, control of body movement, etc.
Yes tis includes disorders that make someone "look scary"
This goes for literally any fucking disorder. There are not exceptions.

btw shout out to people with disorders that are stigmatized as dangerous killers who actually have homicidal thoughts and urges. people with DID, ASPD, schizospec disorders and psychosis, ect. you're not perpetuating stereotypes or ableist by existing and having your personal experience and anyone who blames you for that is an asshole. take care.

Just a reminder that ableism against personality disorders, especially cluster b personality disorder, is alive and well.
Not having empathy doesn’t make someone evil. It doesn’t make them an abuser. In fact, people without empathy are better in certain vital positions. We’re better at being first responders, 911 operators, and other tasks that would overwhelm empaths. We work better in critical situations than empaths do.
Thinking that any disorder makes someone evil is ableist. And when you take into account the sexist bias in diagnosing women with BPD and the racist and classist bias in diagnosing POC and prison inmates with ASPD and NPD? It’s not only ableist, it’s all kinds of -ists. Plus, it’s really rich for someone who claims that empathy is what makes someone good to have so little empathy for people with disorders that are literally trauma-based.
So yeah if you see someone being a dick to people with PDs? Say something. Because they’re definitely not going to listen to us.
