Bucky Barnes is the best super soldier
How it was subtly emphasized in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier:
He always holds back
With the Flag Smashers and even with John Walker. We could see the difference in the last 3 episodes. Sebastian Stan did an incredible job making it clear in a subtle way.
Tumblr media
I want to mention that famous "Stay there" scene, and how it was visible Bucky was not punching as hard as he can in the fight with John.)
This is the thing about Bucky, he isn't after the kill, he just does his part. He doesn't try to show off his skills or that he is a good guy. He doesn't try to play the victim role, either. In the scene where Zemo fake-activates the Winter Soldier in Madripoor, he just makes a point. He's obviously not even trying hard.
If he wanted those in the club dead, they would be. But his self control was wow. Sebastian acted so well, his exes said everything.
Tumblr media
*And to be honest, even when he was TWS, he could have killed everyone, but he didn't. He could have killed all of the Avengers in Civil War is they were his mission, but they weren't. This is how Natasha survived when she met him, too. It depended on what kind of mission he had (if he wasn't allowed to be seen, then the witnesses would die too, but otherwise? He didn't bother).
2. His skills
People tend to forget how smart and good at making strategies Bucky is. He's been fighting (even though he hates fighting and never wanted to be in the army) for years before he was even captured by Hydra. And this is the reason why government still want him, after all. They can use his strategies as a leader (*cough* Thunderbolts *cough*).
In the last episodes of TFATWS, we could see how he outsmarted everyone. Karli was so terrified of him.
Tumblr media
3. Karli Morgenthau
And talking about Karli, the phone call was interesting:
She asked him if he's not tired of fighting for the wrong side, and then told him she's fighting for something bigger than herself.
"And with all the bodies you've collected, have you ever been able to say the same?"
The first thing I wanna point out is how everyone talks about the deaths Bucky caused when he was controlled by Hydra, but everyone ignores the fact that all the Avengers killed far more, but since we consider them the good side, we just don't care.
Clint, Tony, Steve, Wanda etc. They all cause(d) far more deaths than "two dozen" (known assassinations - to quote Natasha), and neither was controlled. The double standards are something else, especially for Clint. (One of the reasons why Tony was on the other side in CW was because of his guilt, after all.)
The second point is how Bucky's answer says a lot more than we might realize at first:
"You don't think I ever fought for something bigger than myself? That's all I ever tried to do, and I failed twice."
Even as TWS, Bucky had to be convinced he is on the right side, that what they do is to save the world, to give "the world the freedom it deserves".
Even brainwashed and put to sleep all the time, he had to be lied to. Bucky as TWS was a victim too. He is not a victim only because he didn't have memories or control, but also because they lied to him and used him as a toy. That milk scene is so loud. (And I am gonna talk about it in a different post). He had no rights, no choices. He was used to being tortured.
[And I wish they explored it more. We deserved and deserve a WS film - maybe with him in Romania getting back his memories, writing in his journal etc.]
"You think your cause justifies all this death, but in the end, the nightmares won't go away. You're gonna remember all the ones you killed. Trust me. Don't do this. Don't go down this path."
Despite being on opposite sides, Bucky still said this to Karli, trying to help her, to make her see the big picture, sharing how he felt and feels.
He is on "the right side". He is a hero, and Bucky being thanked by that man for saving everyone's life was touching.
Tumblr media
4. Baron Zemo
You can see how smart, strong, and rational Bucky is when he decides to break Zemo out of jail (his plan was amazing too), risking so much (his relationship with Wakanda people and his own freedom) to get his help for the mess. He puts the cause above his own (huge) trauma. And this makes that moment in Madripoor even more disgusting (he is treated as an object, as a toy):
Zemo: Tell us what you know about the super-soldier serum. And I give you him, along with the code words to control him, of course. He will do anything you want.
The way he keeps his composure, reacts and manages the situation... absolutely incredible!
This conversation also says a lot:
Zemo: The desire to become a superhuman cannot be separated from supremacist ideals. Anyone with that serum is inherently on that path.
Bucky: Maybe you're wrong, Zemo. The serum never corrupted Steve.
Zemo: Touché. But there has never been another Steve Rogers, has there?
Tumblr media
Bucky positions himself below Steve, who's considered a good hero, a good person... like no other. But Steve never had to go through what Bucky did: from being kidnapped like that, to being tested on, to falling off the train, to being tortured, and used, and brainwashed for decades, and put to sleep when he was not needed and having n "keepers".
Also, interesting how all Steve wanted was to fight (for a good cause, but still)... and fighting still means violence, meanwhile Bucky never wanted to fight, not even before becoming TWS, in the army (and yet he is still great at fighting. And he is deadly, even when he holds back.). All he wanted was peace.
Despite not getting the "perfect serum", despite being brainwashed, put to sleep, and forced to fight for decades, he is still himself. He never gave in to the dark side for real. He fought in his own way. The first thing he did when he woke up was to choke the Hydra guy with a whole new arm!
Bucky is so underrated: from his intelligence and fighting skills, to how human he is. Being flawed, keeping his sassiness and charm from the 40s, but getting more mature and carrying his past on his shoulders... he's so relatable and real. And every day, he shows Zemo he is wrong.
The show he makes in his final scene with Zemo is absolutely fantastic. He doesn't just prove the point he isn't defined by the serum and Hydra (AND not even by Steve, thanks to Sam. His speech made him realize the important thing about himself: that he decides who he is, not others - even those who know him before becoming TWS- "And this might be a surprise, but it doesn't matter what Steve thought. You gotta stop looking to other people to tell you who you are." parallel to "Steve believed in you. He trusted you. He gave you that shield for a reason. That shield, that is… that is everything he stood for. That is his legacy. He gave you that shield, and you threw it away like it was nothing. [...] So maybe he was wrong about you. And if he was wrong about you, then he was wrong about me."), but also that he is superior.
Tumblr media
When Zemo tells him that he decided to let him alive (probably so he can kill Karli) and basically calls him a killing machine: "programmed to kill", Bucky plays the role, lets Zemo talk him into killing Karli, and then Bucky watches him waiting for his own death.
[Also, Bucky's line: Imagine my relief is hilarious.]
The acting was incredible: the shock on Zemo's face and the amusement and somehow relief on Bucky's after he pulls the trigger and lets the bullets fall... He proved him he's THE standard of the super soldier. Because despite everything he went through, he is the best.
Zemo telling him to cross his name off felt like a fresh start (+ telling Nakajima the truth).
5. John Walker
John, on the other hand, is lucky Bucky is an understanding person. He gets what is like... the pressure, the environment, the loss, and even tries to help.
Bucky: Don't go down that road. Believe me, it doesn't end well.
John: I'm not like you!
Of course he is not like Bucky, because Bucky has control. He is not killing to get revenge in a cynical way.
"That serum doesn't exactly have a great track record."
John kept judging Bucky every time they spoke, somehow placing himself above this "broken" man.
"This is all really easy for you, isn't it? All that serum runnin' through your veins. Barnes, your partner needs backup in there. Do you really want his blood on your hands?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is so wrong on every single level, especially because Bucky didn't choose to take the serum, and he always had his friends' back. He's loyal and ready to sacrifice himself.
The "funny" part about this is John ending up taking the last super soldier serum vial. All the judgement, the disgust, the patronizing tone, just to do that. Plus, of course, to kill someone with the shield.
(John proves Zemo's point about super soldiers, and Bucky does the opposite.)
And what is it easy for Bucky anyway?
He's under government conditions (so CACW coded), he has a vibranium arm that I bet the government would try to take after he dies (HOPEFULLY WHEN HE'S 200 YEARS OLD IN HIS BED, as Sebastian wants too) if he isn't in Wakanda, he is haunted by nightmares (which also can mean he is still Hydra's TWS in another universe as we found out from Strange), and he has to learn how to live for real. He's smart, charismatic, has values and principles, and he's incredible.
Tumblr media
We need to see his version of TWS going after everyone Hydra helped. TWS is him, a part of him, and doing that on his terms, having control over it would help him heal.

You've been reblogging more stuff about female characters getting ignored by fandoms recently and I would be really curious to hear your full views on the topic.
The thing is that... look. I get it. Many fandoms do not have very many women in their canon, many of those women are treated pretty poorly by the canon or aren't given as much depth as their male peers, and if you're at all picky the pickings are kind of slim (I would love to be a fan of c!Niki, if I were able to watch six-hour vods, which I am not). It is not wrong that most works with large fandoms are really, really sexist, and the problem is not just in the fanbase!
But come the fuck on. It is not an accident that the DSMP and the MCU and BNHA, all of which are vast-majority male and the female characters are treated terribly, are megafandoms, and Revolutionary Girl Utena is eligible for yuletide. It is not wrong that if you want to see more female-character-focused fanwork you should go to Sailor Moon and not The Untamed, but it is also kind of missing the point to say that and not look at the difference in size between those fandoms. People can say "it's because the male characters are so often more interesting and have more meaningful interactions," and like, sometimes that's even true, I will be the first to tell you that quackbur has more to it than tinarose, but please compare the Clint/Coulson tag to the Utena/Anthy tag and look me in the eye and tell me that's the only thing driving the trend. With a straight face.
And even more there's a thing where— so, I was a mod in the @ao3topshipsbracket bracket. And femslash ships, once they were in the bracket, did really well. Like, absurdly well, like 80% of the f/f ships entered got to the top 16, and the last one was against blackbonnet which was never gonna lose in round 1. You might notice something about that number, though, which is that there were only five of them entered total, because people love to vote for femslash but they absolutely will not write it. And they won't say anything about it either! I was watching the activity feed the entire tournament, and I can tell you, for all of the "let's go lesbians" that populated our notes, nobody would say anything that was actually about the specific characters who made up their ship. I learned a lot about Naruto fandom, modding that bracket; I still know nothing about CW Supergirl, because the only thing anyone would say about it is "it has women in it". Because women are interchangeable. Because women are avatars of Being A Good Feminist. Because clicking a button is easy, and actually thinking about any specific woman and her traits and her internality is hard.
The thing is that guilt over misogyny does not actually fix misogyny. It gets you a lot of people who vote for women in polls, and who say "he's like a woman to me" about their male faves but notably don't have any canonically female characters they talk about, and who say that the only thing they care about in a fic is if it has women in it but will not ever actually say anything about any specific woman, and who never shut up about yuri but apparently yuri is everything and anything except women who have feelings about one another.
I'm tired! I'm very tired. I want people to actually give a shit about specific women and their specific traits, which do not begin and end with "woman". And, also, to stop treating women exclusively as the wingmen, advice-givers, mom figures, and accessories of men.

New Family
Wanda Maximoff x Fem!Reader x Natasha Romanoff
Summary: Your wives help you through your pregnancy. No matter how hard it gets for the three of you. / 6k words
Warnings: Pregnant!reader , slight (poorly written) smut, and cursing
A/N: This is an old fic that i posted on my old account. I missed writing and decided to start again 🫡
Tumblr media
When you and your wives first started talking about having children, it was hard. You were with two Avengers, so trying to make and raise a family would be hard with their schedules. It’s not like they had a lot of missions, but with meetings, training, and press conferences they were still away from home a lot. You knew of this when you guys first started dating. You knew that they would have a lot to do, so you asked them what they thought about having kids before getting serious with them. The two Avengers told you that they would love that, when everything died down.
Now the three of you were married, and things have not died down.
It was your guys’ three year anniversary when you brought it up again. Natasha bluntly stated that she can’t carry, while Wanda just sighed and said, “No, you know we don’t have time for that.” After that you left it alone, keeping your disappointment from showing because you wanted to let them enjoy their time working. You didn’t want to keep them away from doing the things that they love.
But then Natasha started noticing the longing looks you would throw towards mothers and their children, even fathers. She noticed the way you lingered on your friend’s posts of their kids, and family pictures. She noticed the way you would instantly light up when Clint and Laura bring the kids over to visit the three of you. She noticed how natural you were with the kids. Natasha always noticed, and she herself started to feel a sort of longing for a family with you and Wanda. Maybe, she thought, she could take a step back from traveling so much.
Wanda, wouldn’t notice your physical reactions, but she would hear your thoughts if they got too loud. She could hear you thinking about ‘What ifs’ and your hopes about Wanda and Natasha coming around to the idea of children. She would hear (and see) your daydreams of the three of you raising a child together. You always seemed so happy and content in those daydreams.
Were you not happy now?
You were. You were so so so so happy with Wanda and Natasha. You didn’t need kids to be happy with them. It was just something you always imagined. You thought that maybe it had something to do with the way you grew up, which was poorly. Your parents were shitty, and so you vowed to never be like them if you had children. So now you treated any kid you came across with kindness and patience, something you never received as a child. But you knew it would feel completely different with a baby of your own, and Wanda understood that.
So after another couple of months of long talks, arguments, and compromises, the three of you decided to have a baby. It was decided that you would carry because Natasha can’t, and Wanda didn’t want to be taken out of the field just yet. You guys had asked Bruce and Dr. Cho if they could possibly convert Wanda and Natasha’s DNA into something that could be used to make the baby. You guys wanted the baby to have features from all three of you. After three tries, you were finally pregnant.
Your family of three was about to grow.
— Two months pregnant
The sound of gagging noises woke Wanda up from her nap, so she felt around the bed for you only to feel empty sheets. Opening her eyes, she was met with a vacant bed and frowned. She knew Natasha had to help Maria train new SHIELD agents, but you were with her when she fell asleep. Her questions of where you had gone were quickly answered by a heaving sound that came from the bathroom. She immediately knew that it was you, since one of your early symptoms of the pregnancy had been nausea. The others being an increased libido (which her and Nat happily helped you with), and mood swings.
Wanda rushed out of the bed and into the bathroom, her frown deepening as she saw you hunched over the toilet.
“Oh, detka.” She sighed out and kneeled beside you, one hand holding your hair back while the other rubbed your back, soothing you. “Just let it all out, baby it’s okay. You’re okay.” She whispered out as you finished.
You whimpered and tears fell down your eyes. She watched as you sat back against the tub.
“I h-hate this. I can’t even eat my favorite food anymore with out throwing it all up.” You cried. Wanda pulled you into her lap and let you cry into her shoulder.
“I know,” Wanda always knew. “I know it’s hard right now, but we all know that it’ll be so so worth it in the end.” She rocked you back and forth and held you tightly.
“I want Natty.” You cried again, Wanda sighed. You were especially clingy now that you were pregnant, not that either of them minded. But you always seemed to long for the one that was gone. If Wanda was out working, you would want Wanda. If Natasha was out doing something, you would want her. If they were both gone…oh hell.
“She’ll be here before dinner baby.” She noticed your breathing and sobs had died down. “Hey, why don’t we get you cleaned up so we can get started on cooking? Nat should be here soon.” You looked up at her and gave her a tired smile.
“That sounds good to me, Wan.” She internally cheered at your sudden shift into happiness at the mention of Natasha.
“Come on then.” She tapped your thigh twice and you stood up. After brushing you teeth and washing your mouth out, you were in Wanda’s arms.
“Thank you.” You sighed out.
You weren’t always so emotional, but with the hormonal changes happening within you it was understandable. As hard as it was, this was just the beginning.
— Four months pregnant
Now four months, almost five months pregnant, you were starting to show. It wasn’t too noticeable since it was still small and got covered by your clothes. Your morning sickness was gone, but new problems have come to light. You were starting to get light headed a lot, and it was worrying your wives sick. They suggested that the three of you move back into the compound so you would be close to medical care, but you assured them that you would be fine.
You were not fine.
“…And that’s why none of you are worthy enough to wield my precious hammer.” Thor said smugly.
You were sitting in the living room of the Avengers compound, waiting for Wanda and Natasha to be finished with a debriefing. The three of you were about to tell everyone that you were pregnant, and you were excited. These people you’ve grown close to over the past years have become family to you, and they were the first people you wanted to tell about your pregnancy.
So here you were listening to Thor as he listed off reasons as to why each person in the room would not be able to hold Mjölnir. Which then led to Tony, Sam, Clint, Carol, Rhodey, and Bruce defending themselves while Steve, Peter, Pepper, and Bucky just sat there amused. As they were taking turns with trying to life the hammer, you started to get hungry. You realized you haven’t eaten since before you had arrived to the compound, which was hours ago.
You laughed at Bruce’s attempt to life the hammer, and made a move to stand up from the couch. As you stood up straight, you got that lightheaded feeling again, closing your eyes and breathing deeply through your nose. Carol had noticed, but was quickly distracted by Clint moving up to the hammer.
When the dizziness started to subside, you took a couple of steps towards the kitchen only to stumble a little bit, your head feeling light again, legs weak. You braced yourself against one of the desks that were placed behind the couch, which caused Carol, and Bucky’s attention to drift to you. They both got up and walked towards you.
“Y/n, you feeling okay?” You heard Carol’s voice and tried to look up at her, the sudden movement causing the dizziness to get worse, your vision blackening.
“Y/n? Y/n!” Bucky yelled your name as you collapsed towards the ground, but Carol was quick to catch you.
“Oh my god. Someone tell Wanda and Nat to get in here!” Carol demanded. Everyone’s attention diverted away from the hammer to your limp form in Carol’s arms. She carried you to the couch and gently laid you down. Bruce was quick to be by your side, checking your pulse and trying to tap you awake. Tony used FRIDAY to call your wives in.
“Y/n/n, come on. Did she show any signs of passing put earlier? Anyone?” Bruce asked as he looked around. Everyone shook their heads. Before he could respond, a booming voice echoed throughout the now quiet room.
“What the hell happened to her?!” Wanda’s voice wavered as she spoke. Her and Natasha quickly making their way over to you. Her voice started to stir you awake.
“I- No- We don’t know!” Bruce stuttered out. You opened your eyes and groaned.
“She was just fine, and then when she got up to leave the room...” Carol trailed off and gestured to your body.
“What happened?” You asked as you tried to sit up, only to be softly pushed back down by Bruce.
“You passed out.” He said. Wanda and Natasha coming over and shoving him away from you, causing him to collide into Thor with a small “oof”.
“Are you okay, kotenok?”
“Are you hurting anywhere?”
“Even if it’s small pain you have to tell us, detka.”
Your two lovely wives bombarded you with questions and you just had a silly grin on your face at their concern. Wanda furrowed her brows at that.
“Why are you smiling, you passed out! You could have gotten hurt.” She huffed out and you frowned.
“I’m sorry. I was just hungry.” She sighed and moved to cup your face. Natasha was pressing light kisses to your head, and by now everyone had moved back some to give you guys space.
“It’s okay, we just worry. If we knew your lightheadedness would turn into you fainting, we would have kept a better eye on you.” Natasha smiled softly at you.
“She’s been getting lightheaded a lot lately?” Bruce asked with knitted brows. “We should get her to the med bay and check her out for anything serious.” He moved to walk away but Wanda stopped him.
“Wait! We know why she’s been getting dizzy, and well, it is kind of serious.” They all looked at you with concerned eyes as you sat up, leaning into Wanda’s legs as she stood beside you. Her hand came up to caress your hair, Natasha sitting on the arm of the couch and rubbing your back. Both smiling at how you relaxed into their touches.
“She’s- You’re not sick are you?” A crack in Peter’s voice made you jerk your head up. Peter was like a younger brother to you, and you didn’t want him to be sad or worried over you.
“No!” Startling him, you shot him an apologetic glance before continuing. “No, I’m not sick. I’m actually just pregnant.” You said with a wide smile. Peter and Pepper gasped as everyone else erupted into joyful cheers and laughter. Peter was the first one to hug you, as lightly as he could.
“Congratulations!”
“Aw, Y/n! You guys will be great parents.” Pepper clapped her hands together.
After congratulating you and your wives, Tony and Pepper insisted that you stay at the compound at least until the baby is born. Steve overheard and decided to chime in, saying that it would be best if you stayed there. Which then caused everyone else to try and convince you to move in. The next thing you know, you were saying yes as they all celebrated again. Wanda pulled you into a sweet kiss before Natasha did the same. You couldn’t feel more happier.
— Seven months pregnant
After moving into the compound, everyone was watching over you as best as they could. If Wanda and Natasha were both needed for something, at least one person would stay behind to keep you company. That one person being Peter a lot because Tony still didn’t want him doing hefty work, but you didn’t mind. Peter always let you pick the movies and shows you wanted to watch, which is what you guys were doing now.
Your mind wandered away with random thoughts as you zoned out.
Your belly was also a lot bigger, so you were no longer able to fit in your regular clothes. Wanda and Natasha had taken you shopping for clothes, and now you had a whole new wardrobe. Yeah, they may have went a little overboard.
Something you were still experiencing though, were the mood swings increased libido.
Earlier in the day you had found that its been a few weeks since you and your wives had had sex. You were thinking about how you hated how busy they were, which then lead you to think about the last night you guys all had together. At first you were thinking of a romantic outing, a date night. But then your mind drifted off into how those date nights usually end, which is with sex.
You realized that when you started showing, they stopped touching you. Even when you tried initiating it, they turned you down with an excuse.
Did they not find you desirable anymore?
The thought brought tears to your eyes, which quickly alerted Peter who was watching a movie with you. You wiped them away after he asked if you were okay.
“I’m fine. I’m going to sleep.” You stood up from the couch and began to walk away.
“But it’s only 6- aaaand she’s gone.” He sighed and shot a quick text to Wanda, saying that you were upset about something but didn’t explain what. She messaged him back saying that they were on their way home from the press conference they were just attending.
“Detka? Can you unlock the door please?” Wanda asked sweetly. You had locked yourself in the bathroom, and wouldn’t come out no matter what your two wives had tried to bribe you with.
“Can you at least tell us what’s wrong, baby?” Natasha spoke up this time, her tone soft. They heard you sniffling holding back sobs, and their hearts broke at the sound of it all. “Y/n/n? Please.”
“No! I don’t want you guys to look at me anymore so go!” They looked at each other concerned. “Y-you don’t have to pretend that you love me anymore. I- It’s okay if you guys don’t f-find me as attractive as before.” More sobs were let out as you voiced your thoughts. Wanda and Natasha’s eyes widened at your words.
“Y/n, we will always find you attractive. Pregnant or not, baby you’re beautiful.”
“We promise we love you the same as we did before the pregnancy.” Wanda assured you. “Even more so now. Can you please come out so we can talk?”
“You’re lying. You’re both lying to me.” You mumbled out loud enough for them to hear you through the door.
“What makes you say that?”
“You won’t have sex with me!” Natasha’s eyes widened even more while Wanda blushed. “You guys won’t even touch me anymore and I know it’s because I’m not pretty anymore.” That was enough for Wanda.
“Okay, we’re coming in.” Her eyes lit up to a red hue, and a red mist made it’s way into the bathroom and onto the knob, unlocking and opening the door. They rushed to where you were sat on the ground, kneeling beside your cross-legged form. You had your hands resting on top of your bump, sniffling away tears.
“Honey look at me,” Natasha softly demanded. You hesitantly lifted your gaze up to meet hers, and looked at Wanda when you felt her hand slip into yours. They both held nothing but love in their eyes. You felt yourself tearing up again.
“We love you so so much.” Natasha continued. “We still think you’re the most beautiful woman in the world. Having your body accommodate to forming a literal child in your stomach doesn’t change our opinions of you.” She took your free hand and squeezed it with a reassuring smile.
“Then why won’t you touch me?” You whispered out.
“We don’t want to hurt you or the baby.” Natasha said in the same tone. You scoffed and rolled your eyes.
“You won’t,” you mumbled out. “You’re always so paranoid.” Silence passed before your other wife spoke up.
“I’m sorry we made you feel neglected.” Natasha’s expression turned apologetic before a smirk graced her features. “Just know that we are still very much attracted to you.”
Her hand came up on your thighs when Wanda leaned in to kiss your neck.
“You want us to touch you baby?” Wanda husked out. “Is that why you’re being so fussy? Hm?” Her hand loosened her hold on yours and traveled up your body. When she reached your chin, she gripped your face in her hand and brought your lips to hers. You moaned as she swiped her tongue across your bottom lip, which gave her an opening allowing her to slip her tongue into your mouth. She quickly won over your weak fight for dominance. You soon felt another pair of lips on your neck, and you whimpered as Natasha nibbled little bites onto it.
“Let’s take this to the bed, kotenok.” She breathed out. Wanda pulled away and chuckled at your little whine.
Soon you were on the bed in between the two women you loved the most in the world. You were naked now, as were Wanda and Natasha. Your were leaning on Wanda, your back pressed to her chest, feeling her bare skin on yours. Her hands were on your sore breasts, alternating between massaging them softly and gently grazing over your sensitive nipples. Her legs were holding yours spread out, leaving enough room for Natasha to kneel in between them.
“You are so beautiful, Y/n.” Natasha’s hands were lightly running up and down your thighs, the tingling sensation causing you to buck your hips up with a whine. “We love you.”
“So much.” Wanda chimed in.
“Yeah, yeah. I love you guys too.” You groaned out in frustration when they still didn’t give you what you wanted. “Now shut up and fuck me already.” Natasha smirked at your impatience.
“Gladly.” You moaned out as her fingers sunk into you.
Your wives made you cum three times before you were asking them to stop. You were sensitive, and finally satisfied in knowing that the two women still loved you and your body. With how they worshipped you so carefully and intensely, you knew these insecurities wouldn’t be such a problem for you anymore.
Wanda was gently stroking your skin, cooing in your ear and praising you for being so good. You were still trembling, tears of pleasure streaming down your face, bruise-like marks from both Natasha and Wanda covering your neck, thighs, and chest. Natasha went to move her fingers out but you closed your legs and trapped her hand there.
“D-don’t. Not y-yet please.” You murmured out. Wanda’s hands were running through your hair, and Nat’s free hand caressed your legs, trying to relax you enough so she could remove her hand.
“Ready to get cleaned up?” Your eyes were drooping as you nodded, legs limply falling open.
As your wives took care of you and bathed you, you knew that they still loved you no matter what the circumstances are.
— Eight Months Pregnant
Maybe they loved me too much, you thought.
Not really, but they were around everywhere you went since you guys were a month away from your due date. Both Wanda and Natasha have taken four months off, allowing them to be by your side when they wanted to be. Which was every. Single. Minute. of the day.
At first, you didn’t complain because you loved them and always wanted them safe and with you. But now, you couldn’t even go the restroom with out one of them tagging along because they “needed to go pee, too” or because they “left their phone on the sink” only for it to be in their pocket the whole time.
You really did appreciate their concern, and that they loved you enough to worry so much, but now you just felt helpless and incapable. You would try to sneak away from then every once in a while for some alone time, but one’s a spy and the other can read minds so you don’t get very far.
So you were upset, and in pain because of the small contractions you’ve been feeling recently. The doctor told you they were normal though, so you weren’t really worried about it.
“You guys seriously aren’t letting me go to the store now? God, I’m starting to feel like a handmaiden more than your wife!” You huffed out and crossed your arms over your big belly bump. Wanda bit her lip in an attempt to conceal her smile. You were just so adorable when you were mad, even more so now that you’re pregnant with their child. Natasha stood up from the bed and walked in front of you. She tried to uncross your arms, but that only resulted in you stepping away from her grip.
“Look, honey, I know you love going to the store, but-”
“If you tell me that I need to be here because you worry about my safety, Nat, I’ll really give you something to worry about.” You glared at Wanda as she laughed out loud at your empty threat towards the Russian spy. Natasha just smirked, which made you even more angrier.
“You know what? Fine. Both of you can go because you’re annoying me.” You walked out of the room and ignored their calls for you. You stormed into the kitchen where Bucky, Sam, and Carol were eating lunch. They all looked up and smiled at you, Carol’s faltering when she noticed your expression.
“Hey,” She said cautiously. “What’s up with you?” You sighed out in annoyance turning to look at the blonde.
“What’s up is that I’m being treated like a prisoner!” You ran your fingers through your hair and shook your head. “I know that Wands and Nat are looking out for me, but I feel like I’m going crazy not being able to do even the easy things.” Sam’s eyes widened at the sight of tears making their way down your face. He jumped up out of his seat and made his way over to you.
“Here,” He led you to the chair beside his which was in between him and Carol, Bucky sitting in front of you now. “Want to try this grilled cheese sandwich? Carol made it with her stove hands.” He grinned teasingly at Carol and you laughed wiping your tears.
“Thank you, though I don’t know how much I trust Carol’s bare hands when it comes to handling food.” She gasped.
“Are you saying I’m dirty?” You turned to look at her and before you could throw another remark towards her, you felt wetness seep out of you. “Y/n?” Carol noticed your sudden stiffness.
That’s when you felt an especially painful contraction. You hissed in pain and bent over a bit, clutching your stomach. The three Avengers frowned at you.
“Y/n are you okay?” Bucky asked.
“F-fine. Actually,” You looked at him with wide eyes. “I think my water broke.”
“Are you sure?” Sam asked, concern written all over his features.
“Yea- Oh!” Another contraction hit even harder this time. You were almost leaning fully on Sam now, tears of physical pain pooling in your eyes now. He held onto you and stood up, you clutching onto his arm to stay upright. Carol was quick to be on your other side, protectively cradling your stomach. Bucky was soon on his feet too.
“We should get you to Dr. Cho.” He said. “I’ll let her know we’re on our way. Where’s Wanda? Nat?”
“They’re not here.” You whimpered out. The contractions were hurting even more now, and you so badly wished that your wives were here by your side.
“I’ll call them,” Bucky assured you with a nod.
The three of them led you down the hall into the elevator, going to the medical floor. Sam was practically carrying you now, speed-walking as smoothly as he could with you in his arms. You could hear Bucky frantically speaking on the phone.
“Dr. Cho, Bruce!” Carol called out.
“Here! We’re here. What’s wrong?” The woman asked. Sam put you on one of the beds and stepped back as Dr. Cho got closer to you.
“My water b-broke and it hurts.” You sobbed out. You weren’t ready for this yet. You had eight months to prepare, and you were still not ready for this level of pain you were about to go through. And to top it all off, Wanda and Natasha weren’t here. “I thought t-they were the normal false labor p-pains but it’s worse.” She just nodded and started to put her gloves on, Bruce doing the same.
“Oh god,” You croaked out. “It hurts too much. I can’t do it.” You cried. Carol was quick to come stroke your face, wiping the tears away.
“You’ll be okay, Y/n. We’re all going to be right here for you alright? Just breathe.” That just turned your fear into anger, the pain making everything unbearable.
“You try breathing with a fucking baby in you, Danvers!” Her eyes widened at your use of her last name, and Bucky lightly shoved her away to take her place.
“Hey Y/n, you-“
“Bucky if you don’t get your cyborg ass out of my face! Stop hovering!” You seethed as another contraction hit, your hands gripping the sheets of the bed. He quickly mumbled an apology and went to stand by Carol. Bruce came back with a needle, towels, a bucket and Dr. Cho followed behind with some IV tubings, and other tools. Before Sam could step up to you, Bruce was standing by your side.
“We need to check if you’ve dilated yet at all, is it okay for us to take your pants off?” He asked carefully. The tightening in your stomach lessened and you breathed out in relief. You could only manage a nod towards the man. Dr. Cho carefully guided you out of your pants, and underwear, putting you in a gown. Sam and Bucky were now gone, Bruce shoving them out.
You asked Carol to stay, not wanting to be alone if your wives were still gone by the time you gave birth.
“Okay, Y/n, I’m going to hook you up to some IVs. It’ll help with the pain while we wait for you to dilate enough to push.” She paused before speaking again. “It’s still a month early, so to avoid complications I will have to ask you to be prepared for a C-section just in case.” She walked off to talk to Bruce when you Tears were flowing down your face again.
You were scared now. It was too early to be giving birth, your wives weren’t here, you were alone and you were scared.
“I want Wanda, Carol. I want Nat.” You cried out as another contraction hit. She nodded and wiped your tears away.
“I know. I know, they’ll be here soon okay? They’re stuck in traffic, but I promise they’ll be here for you.” The loud bang of a door caught yours and Carol’s attention, her stepping away from you so her hands could glow as if she was preparing to fight.
You could hear muffled voices and then the door of the medbay swung open, revealing a worried and slightly angry Wanda and Nat. Bucky and Sam trailing behind them with apprehensive looks on their faces. You saw Bucky rubbing a spot on his forehead, and you figured Natasha must have thrown him into the door for something. Carol relaxed seeing that the there was no threat.
Wanda and Nat rushed to your side, each grabbing a hand of yours. “We’re so so sorry we left you earlier, detka.” Wanda choked out, and you noticed she had tears falling down her face. You furrowed your brows and reached up to wipe them away.
“Are you okay, Wan?” She let out a watery laugh and shook her head in disbelief. Even as you were lying on a hospital bed with painful contractions, you were still worried about her.
“Am I okay? Are you okay? Baby, you’re about to give birth.” You smiled and nodded at her, grimacing when you felt another contraction.
“We’re sorry for upsetting you, Y/n/n. We just worry so much.” Natasha said.
“It’s okay. I know you guys do, but let’s forget about all of that.” You shifted to get as comfortable as you could considering your situation. “I’m in pain and have to stay awake for the next 24 hours. It’s all so early and they don’t want there to be any complications.” Your voice cracked as you talked, fear flashing in your eyes. You wanted everything to be okay.
“Hey,” Wanda cupped your cheeks. “Everything is going to be fine, okay? Nothing is going to happen to you or the baby.” She gave you a reassuring smile.
“They’re going to be so small.” You whispered out. “I don’t want them to get hurt.”
“Well, they’ll have three moms to make sure that won’t happen.” Bucky piped up. You looked at him and noticed a bruise on his forehead. You laughed.
“I’m assuming you guys had something to do with his head’s new addition?” You smirked as he rolled his arms and crossed his arms.
— 29 Hours Later
“I- I can’t do it.” You whimpered and squeezed the two hands you were holding. “I’m not ready, not ready.”
After monitoring you and the baby for the past 24 hours, Dr. Cho and Bruce confirmed that while the baby would be a little small, you were ready to have it. You were now, finally dilated enough to start pushing, and the pain was excruciating. You could feel the tears happening down below, every muscle in your body was aching, sweat all over your body. You were pushing as hard as you could.
For a small baby, getting this thing out was still hurting like hell.
“You can do it, detka. You can- AH!” You squeezed Wanda’s hand so hard she fell to her knees.
“This is your fault Wanda!” You yelled out with another push. She looked at you shocked.
“Mine?! What about Nat!” You squeezed her hand harder to shut her up.
“She must like me bette- Y/n!” Natasha bent over when you crushed her hand to shut her up too. More painful yells, more pushing.
“J-Just shut up!”
“You’re almost there, Y/n a few more pushes.”
“One more mama you can do it!”
You slumped back, exhaustion making it’s way into your body. You heard people shuffling around you, your wives hands slipping from your grip. Your vision was blackening, but you could vaguely see Natasha’s red hair in front of you, saying something but her voice was muffled. You just wanted to sleep now.
That’s when you realized you didn’t hear crying, but before you could say anything about it you were unconscious.
“-because she delivered earlier than planned, her body wasn’t prepared for it. She was also up for 30 hours or more, so she’s perfectly fine. Just tired.” You heard Dr. Cho’s distant voice.
“You’re sure?” You recognized that as Natasha, encouraging you to open your eyes.
You groaned as you felt the soreness and pain settling in, the bright light of the medbay making you wince a little bit.
“Hey!” You tilted your head to the side, seeing Dr. Cho and Natasha standing there at the door. The former rushing over to stand by the bed you were on. “Hey, baby. How are you feeling?” She asked softly.
That’s when you remembered that you didn’t hear the baby cry. You didn’t even get to see her, or make sure she was okay. You started tearing up and tried to sit up.
“Where- where’s the baby?” Your voice was breaking, and Natasha tried pushing you back down.
“Hey, you need to rest oka-” You shoved her away and moved to take your IVs out. Natasha grabbed both of your hands in hers and made you look at her. “You need to rest. You can’t be up walking around yet. The baby is fine, Wanda is with Bruce getting her dressed right now.” You shook your head.
“Nat I didn’t hear her cry.” You sobbed out. “I was so scared because I couldn’t hear her.” She moved to sit on the bed, bringing your head to her chest and rocking you back and forth.
“It’s okay. It took her awhile to get used to being out of the womb,” She combed through your messy hair. “You passed out right before she cried. She’s fine, alright?” Your cries were down to a sniffle now, and you nodded your head into her chest more.
“I love you.” You whispered out. “Thank you for everything, I don’t think I thanked you guys as much as I should have these past months.” You wrapped your arms around her and squeezed, never wanting to let go.
“You don’t have to thank us,” Your head turned to the door and saw Wanda standing there holding the baby. “Do you want to hold her?” She walked closer.
“Of course. I didn’t go through hours of pain to not hold my baby.” You held out your arms and gently held the little girl. She was sound asleep, a tiny hand resting on her chin, the other gripping the blanket she was wrapped in. Your eyes sparkled as you looked at her. She resembled the three of you so much. You ran your finger lightly across her tiny features.
“She has your nose, Wands. Your mouth Nat.” You breathed out, keeping your gaze on the baby. “She’s beautiful.” You felt the hospital bed dip on both sides of you, and you tore your eyes away from the baby to look at your wives.
They both had tears of joy in their eyes, love shining through as they watched you and you guys’ daughter.
“She has your eyes.” Wanda pointed out, staring in awe as the newborn girl opened her eyes. Natasha groaned causing you and Wanda to look at her.
“Another set of eyes I won’t be able to say ‘no’ to ever in my life.” You smirked while Wanda snorted.
“That’s exactly what I was thinking. Another Y/n, means more trouble, doesn’t it?” You scoffed when Natasha agreed, giving her a playful glare.
“I just gave birth, and you two are already ganging up on me.” Before you could say anything else, a small sneeze caused your eyes to snap down to the baby. Wanda and Natasha’s eyes doing the same.
She sneezed again and the three of you cooed at her, your hand that wasn’t holding her was getting gripped by her tiny fingers. Natasha’s hand settled on her head as softly as she could, and she leaned down to kiss her forehead while Wanda smiled with tears in her eyes, her hand settled on your thigh.
You smiled at all three of them, and felt so at ease with your new family. This is what you wanted, and you were so glad to have it with the loves of your life.

Serious Questions
BuckyBarnes x Female!Reader

a/n: This was a request by the lovely @alana-32. Hopefully, it meets your expectations 💙 I haven’t written pure fluff in a hot minute but this was fun!
word count: 2.9k
warnings: nervous and wholesome Bucky, super fluffy, just a really beautiful bond unfolding

You should get out more, Bucky. Meet people and make friends, Bucky. You need to get laid, Bucky.
Sam’s words echoed through Bucky’s head as he pushed open the door of the restaurant. The warm air welcomed him and the little bell at the entrance rattled when he entered. He didn’t know how it exactly happened, but all of a sudden Clint had pitched into the conversation and urged him to meet his cousin. And Bucky had agreed. Well, the desperate attempt to make them shut up backfired. Big time.
He didn’t want to date. Apart from the fact that he didn’t wish himself on anybody, he didn’t think he could handle a relationship like that. Hell, Bucky barely realized how he made friends in the past year, so how the hell was he supposed to date? He hadn't done it in ages. It was probably different now than it was 80 years ago.
The waiter looked at him with wide eyes - fear visible on his face - when he entered and chose a quiet place in the corner, though the whole restaurant was fairly empty. What would he even talk about? His hand started to sweat. This had been a bad idea. A really stupid bad idea. His eyes swerved to the door and then back to the waiter standing behind a small bar. Was it too late to back out?
But then the bell above the entrance chimed again and he knew that he had missed his chance.
“Hello.” You smiled at him, clutching your bag with nervous fingers. “Are you James Barnes?”
Bucky scrambled to stand up and held out his hand to you with a tight smile. He nodded and gestured for you to take a seat after you told him your name.
He could do this, he thought. Especially because you seemed just as nervous. The first thing you two had in common, right?
“I’m really sorry, this is kind of awkward.” You looked down at your hands beneath the table with hesitance. “I... uhm... I haven’t done this in a while,” you confessed with genuine eyes. And Bucky could see a hint of comfort washing through your face.
“I doubt your last date is as long ago as mine, doll. You’ll probably do a lot better than me.”
A small laugh pressed past your lips and Bucky’s heart warmed at the sound. It felt good to make you laugh. He wanted to do it again.
“Let’s rush through the basics then so we can get to the interesting bits. I think that first half hour is what makes these things so awkward.” Your mouth spread into a grin as you straightened up.
“Sounds like a plan.” Bucky nodded.
“Well, you already know my name... I work in a small bookshop in Brooklyn, I am an only child but never wanted to be. I love dogs, cats, ducks - all the animals, really, but I don’t have any pets because my landlord doesn’t allow them. Well... I have fish - I had to settle for fish because they're quiet. But that’s their problem, you know? They’re quiet and you can’t play with them or pet them.” You shrugged. “Uhm... I like to read - I do that a lot, and I think that’s it.” Your speech ended with a bright smile and Bucky couldn’t help his own from spreading.
“My turn?”
“Yes.”
“Okay...” He straightened ups as well, a little giddy about the situation now. Normally, Bucky wouldn’t react this way to something he didn't like, but he wanted to try it this time. You were just so sweet and he didn't want to ruin the date... for you. “My friends call me Bucky, I grew up in Brooklyn, I have a sister... had a sister. And I think I’m more of a cat person - if I had to choose. I don’t have any pets. I work a lot, I guess it keeps me distracted. And... I feel like my back story doesn’t need to be explained, you probably know all about it.” He didn’t give you much, Bucky knew that. But those were the things he could say easily and really, he wasn’t sure how you’d react to most of it.
“Bucky... I like it. What’s it short for?”
“Buchanan. ’s my middle name.”
“Like the President?”
“Yup.”
“Hm... I guess that’s kinda cool.”
“I guess.”
"Can I call you Bucky?"
He felt weirdly content with you saying his name. "If you want." There was no regret in his decision as he watched your face scrunch in excitement.
The shallow topics went on for a while, and Bucky was surprised to see that talking to you was easy. He didn’t worry about what you thought, because you reacted to his replies with intrigue and adoration. He felt heard. And he had to admit that he actually enjoyed the little meeting his teammate had set up so far. He learned a bunch of stuff about you. And he picked up on little quirks you had and he celebrated every new one he noticed. Like the way your nose slightly crunched when you didn't believe him, or how your finger grazed over the table when you talked about something you really liked - back and forth. It was comforting to be in your presence.
Bucky leaned back in his booth as he emptied his beer, watching as you ordered another drink for yourself. He found himself smiling into the bottle when the waiter agreed to add an extra peppermint leave, making you bite back a bright smile. The waiter smiled as well, a lot less tense than he had been before you had arrived and it fascinated Bucky how contagious your good mood was. Then you turned your attention back to Bucky and he had to regain his composure. His arm slipped from the back of the booth and fell to his side as he waited for you to talk again.
“Okay, real talk, now - and I need you to answer this question honestly.” Your fingers pressed on the table like he’d seen important politicians do and Bucky had to hide a smile.
“Hit me with it.”
“If you could be a mix of any two animals, which combination would you choose?”
Bucky was baffled for a second. He had expected everything but this. And then - out of the blue - he laughed. A real can’t-hold-back-the-snort-if-I-tried-laugh and it felt so unbelievably good, it scared him a bit.
You gasped appalled, but the small smirk behind your hand couldn’t be hidden. “This is serious, Bucky. It says a lot about you.”
“Really, how?”
“Well, for example, I would choose an elephumblebee because it would look freaking adorable. A tiny elephant with wings and a furry butt, are you kidding me? Why the government hasn’t made that happen yet is truly beyond me.”
Bucky got it, then. It really did say a lot about you. You were fun and cute and he could imagine a little clumsy at times - just like he would imagine an elephumblebee. And even though it still felt foreign to him to engage in a silly activity like this, with you, it was fun - and he wanted to. So he thought really hard, his eyes focusing on the wall behind you and you waited patiently and ordered another beer for him.
Who would have thought that James Bucky Barnes would ever sit in a restaurant and think about how ridiculous a dog with a giraffe’s head would look? Certainly not Bucky. But it was almost comforting to do so.
“Alright, I think I got it.” You just nodded in anticipation. “I think I would be a spider-wolf... a spi- a spolf.” Bucky was satisfied with his answer: A lone wolf and someone people didn’t really like - pretty accurate if you’d asked him.
You just watched him with a tilted head for a while and Bucky felt a little uncomfortable with his answer now. Had he said the wrong thing?
“What?” Your lips just pursed in response.
“Nothing, nothing..,” you trailed off and Bucky couldn’t stop staring at your lips. “I was just thinking, you know - I think I’ve never seen a real wolf before. It’s not on my bucket list or anything and I heard they are so much bigger than you think, but like... have you?”
“I actually have. In the wild - amazing animals and yeah, bigger than a dog, that’s for sure.”
“Really?” Your eyes lit up. “Wow, that must have been such a unique experience.”
Bucky smiled sadly, nodding. “To be honest, I didn’t really realize it when it happened. I couldn’t appreciate it the way you would.”
“Oh well, still. It’s awesome. The most extraordinary animal I have ever seen in ‘the wild’ was a raccoon. There’s not a lot of wildlife potential when you never leave the city.” You shrugged as you pressed your lips in a straight line, but Bucky chuckled.
“Not much of the vacation kind?”
“It’s not that...” You paused and sighed. “I just love the bookstore too much. There is this one lady. She comes in every Thursday at exactly the same time and she just sits and reads and she has the most amazing stories to tell. And then there is the little stray cat that comes by every day and we have a little cuddle session. Oh, and I can’t forget about the quiet tatted college kid that secretly reads romance novels in the back isles for hours on end. I would miss them too much...”
Bucky just sat and listened to you ramble on and on about all the individuals you were so attached to, even if they didn’t know. And he was reminded yet again how much he enjoyed this initially dreaded evening. It didn't feel forced and you were so authentic and kind. Bucky was relaxing with every second he spend in the cozy little restaurant with you. He was sure that he could spend a whole day here with you, without getting bored.
He leaned forward as he watched the corners of your mouth tug up and your eyes sparkle with joy while you talked about the bookstore. And he couldn’t help but ask himself how he ended up here. How had he gotten a date with the most caring person in the world - no, really, what were the odds of that happening to him? But the most present thought swarming his mind was: How is a woman like you still single?
You suddenly stopped taking and Bucky was catapulted back to reality. You looked at him with wide eyes for the fraction of a second and then they softened and your gaze averted to the table. Had he just said that out loud?! Bucky didn’t know what to do. He was frozen to the booth, his hands tightening around the bottle and he held his breath - didn’t dare breathe until you gave him a new reaction.
After a beat, you sighed and looked him in the eyes apologetically. “I... I don’t know.” Your hand moved over the table and nervously began picking on the toothpicks in the glass jar. “I guess, I don’t seem to be the taste of most men around here. I don’t like wild parties and spending my weekends wasting away with a hangover.”
Bucky felt himself cringing at how uncomfortable he had made you. You clearly were embarrassed talking about this, but he would let you talk - or chose not to anymore. Either way, he would respect your decision.
“I... uh... I just haven’t had any luck so far. When I talk about my interests, everyone’s eyes just glaze over and then I never see them again. They think I’m boring, but that’s... I like concerts and dancing... I just don’t need the whole-” Your hands flailed in front of your face before you sunk back into your seat.
“You’re not boring, doll. I completely understand what you’re saying. I don’t need all that-” now his hand flailed in the air, “either.” Which made you break a smile that got brighter when he returned it. And Bucky felt a little pride swell in his chest when he watched your mood lift again.
“Can I ask you something?” You suddenly said and Bucky felt a little nervous at the piercing stare you gave him.
“Uh... sure.”
You bit your lip before finally speaking again. “You don’t really strike me as the social type, either.”
Bucky waited for you to continue, but you seemed in thought all of a sudden. “That’s not a question.”
You laughed nervously. “Right. I guess my question is... well, why did you agree to this evening? Clint didn’t really make it seem as if there was a lot of convincing involved.”
Bucky already facepalmed himself mentally for what he was about to say next. But he didn’t want to lie to you - it didn’t feel right. No, you deserved the truth - especially after you had answered his stupid question earlier so honestly.
“To be completely honest, I didn’t know how else to make my friends- uh...shut up. But I don’t regret coming here if that’s what you’re getting at.” He rushed that last part when he saw your face sadden. “I don’t get out too often, that’s true. Which doesn’t mean that I don’t want to... I just don’t know how to do this very well - talking to people. Usually, I get weird stares or fearful glances.”
Your eyes gleamed with something unintelligible before you leaned forward, your elbows resting on the table. “I don’t know how anyone could be scared of you, Bucky.”
“That’s very sweet of you to say, doll. But I don’t blame them, I would probably react the same if I weren’t... me.” His eyebrows furrowed with the last word and he could see a shiver of sadness wash over you.
“I think you’re pretty great,” you offered with an encouraging tap on his hand and Bucky felt his stomach churn.
A short silence overtook you and Bucky tried to keep his composure. The mood had shifted slightly, not uncomfortably, no - but just enough to leave his mind free from any topics he could talk about. Which usually wasn’t a problem, but he wanted to talk to you - tell you more and get told more. Which was why he was extra grateful for your breaking the silence after a couple seconds.
“So... I guess we can check off the heavy stuff as well?”
“Seems so,” he chuckled, holding on to the little feeling of relief you had sparked in his chest.
For the next hour, you actually got Bucky to open up a little more. He hadn’t even realized you were the one talking most of the time because he enjoyed listening to you so much. He came to realize, however, that it wasn’t so bad to talk about himself. He liked the way your eyes lit up at his stories about Clint, or the occasional ‘what, really?’ you threw into his anecdotes, making him feel important.
After another 30 minutes, you had made it outside. And as Bucky stood outside the restaurant door, hands buried deep in his coat pockets, helooked at you with an honest smile, while you adjusted your mittens.
“Thank you for giving this a chance, Bucky. I had a lot of fun tonight.” Your words built puffy white clouds in the air, but other than those, the butterflies in his stomach didn’t dissipate.
“I did, too,” he confessed, realizing for the fourth time today, that this was really true. “We should do this again.”
You bit your lips as your shoulders jerked with reluctance, but before you turned fully, you stepped towards Bucky and hugged him tightly. “Definitely.”
The cold weather seemed a lot more bearable all of a sudden. Bucky caged you to his chest with his arms and pressed his smile into the crook of your neck while an excited shiver ran through him. He felt incredible, safe, content, and he realized how much he had missed hugs - real, affectionate hugs.
“And you’re not a spolf,” you mumbled into his ear, squeezing him a little tighter. “You’re a curtle - a cat-turtle. Because you have a hard shell and you don’t trust very easily, which might make people feel like you don’t care. But you do - you’re just a little misunderstood.” You pulled back with a sad smile and Bucky felt his hands tighten around you as he stiffened. Though despite the surprise, his lips split into a bright smile.
He gazed into your eyes for a little longer before he leaned forward and placed a chaste kiss on your cheek, making a giddy smile appear on your lips. “Thank you, doll.”
And then, with a final wave ‘good night’ you turned and walked down the street. Bucky watched until you rounded the corner, unable to wipe the stupid grin off his face.
**Bonus:
“So... how was the date?” Sam teased as Bucky entered the main area of the compound. But his friend just wanted to go to his room and revel in the serenity, you had brought him, a little longer.
“That’s none of your business, punk,” Bucky grumbled, passing the sofa.
“Why, did you more-than-kiss her goodbye?”
Bucky stopped in his tracks and turned with an annoyed expression, but not even he could hide the blush on his cheeks from deepening at the thought of actually kissing you. His heart was pounding in his chest.
“Oh! Wait? Did you really?!”
“Shut up, Sam.” Bucky wanted to deny it for your sake, but he liked the thought of it too much. So he swiftly decided to simply not spill in front of his friends and your cousin.
“Holy shit.” He heard Clint chuckle while he made a beeline to his room, missing how the two avengers exchanged a $10 bill behind him.

Natasha Romanoff x Wanda Maximoff x Cordelia Goode x Reader- One too many secrets
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: I have honestly been captured by marvel and wandanat. I couldn't help writing for them but I wanted to keep some of my ,,normal'' writing in there so I added Cordelia. This is my first time obviously writing Natasha and Wanda so I have no clue whether this is accurate or makes a lot of sense. Let me know what you think though as I quite enjoyed this 🫶🏻

Todays mission had started out like any other mission, a quick briefing first, Tony talking you through most of the details and that you and the others had got this. Gathering your things before walking towards one of the quinjets and getting going. The last time you had both seen Wanda and Cordelia was two days ago now, travelling back and forth to the avengers compound and getting some training and exercise in, as well as greeting and chatting to some old friends.
They hated it, well Wanda only really did when she wasn't able to come along, however she had been stuck on another mission for the past few days and pretty much only got back when the two of you had to leave. Cordelia hated it altogether, she had met the avengers briefly and the three of you tried to be as open and communicative as possible, knowing the blonde wouldn't be able to cope with her crippling anxiety and worry otherwise. So, you had taken her to the compound a few times, getting to meet Tony and some of the others there. And despite the man even offering her to join them all, she refused, too busy with her own responsibilities of leading Miss Robichaux's Academy as their headmistress but also their supreme.
Cordelia was also your supreme, teaching you the basics years ago when you were dropped at the academy and didn't understand your powers and why no one wanted you. Somehow you stumbled upon the avengers, Wanda first before meeting everyone else and somehow getting caught in between it all. This was for sure never the life you had imagined, thinking you would grow old in the academy alongside Cordelia. However, a certain ginger and redhead somehow didn't only sweep you off your feet but equally the blonde sunshine that had been in your life for years. And so, the four of you slowly and with a few ups and downs along the way, built your life together, both away from the avengers compound and the academy, enjoying a more quiet and private space, rather than constantly being around people. Natasha's flying skills allowed her to easily move between places and Cordelia and Wanda's magic, as well as yours allowed the three of you to get wherever you wanted quickly.
As the quinjet prepares for landing, you glance at Natasha, who sits in the cockpit with Clint and you can't help but the small smile escaping you as you see her in her element. She loved this and you knew she did, however she especially enjoyed when her detka came along on missions. She had seen Wanda's magic on missions of course and her eyes always widened in that exact same way, disbelief, admiration and the slight shock. However your magic was different, so much lighter and beautiful and she enjoyed whenever she got to watch you or the supreme. It took a while to get you to where you are, Natasha training you to be her own little assassin and teaching you everything she had ever known and learned over the span of her life. She wanted to make sure you could protect yourself, hating the thought of anything ever happening to you and her not teaching you properly beforehand.
Your two girlfriends were utterly different. Sometimes when missions allowed it, the three of you would join in together. Wanda always fussed over you, often checking in with her magic to feel you close by when she couldn't see you. Not necessarily liking the thought of you doing all of these big adult things before Natasha had talked her out of those concern. Natasha let you do your own thing, trusting your abilities, magic and what she had taught you enough. However, her green eyes always lingered nearby, making sure someone wasn't getting a little too close to you, that the avengers didn't push you too much and didn't expect too much of you. She thought of you as a privilege to have around and help out and she made sure to treat you like that.
,,Ready Malishka?'' you hear her whisper as she brushes past, turning to smile at you before she follows the others. ,,Ready'' you assure with a smile, slightly taken back by her outfit and how badass she looked, especially with the flaming red hair, her smell lingering as she walks past and reminding you of home.
It really was supposed to be a quick in and out, Clint, Natasha and some others clearing the way for you, getting rid of some guards lingering nearby before getting to the big guys. Once inside, it was your job to finish the interrogation part, assuming they wouldn't talk and the avengers relying on you to use your Telepathy, read their minds and making them spill all the secrets, they would surely die for to protect. And it almost seemed a little too easy, as the three of you, including some backup cleared the way and eventually had the guys exactly where you wanted them. Bucky and Natasha tying them to some chairs before asking their questions, you eventually joining in and making them spill all their secrets. You had gotten what you wanted, Natasha filling in Tony who stayed behind, content with what you had gathered.
Yet, somehow you had missed something. Maybe it was due to the fact that you thought danger was averted, maybe you had been too taken back by your girlfriend and how both badass and beautiful she was or maybe it was the thought of relief and thinking you could return to your other two girlfriends waiting at home after finishing your mission reports once returned. It must have either been the cameras or the guys somehow alerting backup and almost as the four of you made it back, more guards appeared in front of you, heavily armed and ready to fight. Natasha was the first to notice, quickly tackling the first two running around the corner, Clint shooting some of his arrows, making some more fly across the floor. And you equally used your magic, making the new wave of them fly across the hallway and knocking them unconscious, Natasha watching and smirking in adoration.
As Natasha winks at you, she watches as your face turns serious, the three of them expecting danger to be averted as it had been deadly silent. However, your magic was quick to alert you that you had missed something, sending an all too familiar shiver down your spine and the feeling of doom that was nearby. You were no supreme, and usually this was a power that only Cordelia and Wanda managed to use. ,,Incoming'' you quickly alert them, their faces growing serious with concern. As you look around you, trying to find the obvious sign of what was going on, you glance around only to find another flood of them coming basically out of nowhere. ,,Fucking hell'' Natasha curses before the four of you get back into action, fighting to get out of there as really your mission was done and successful. Again you use your magic to send most of them shooting across the hallway and into the nearest wall.
However as you glance at Natasha, you watch her surrounded by some big guys, and despite the Russian definitely not needing your assistance, you can't help the overwhelming feeling of wanting to keep her safe. In a swift motion, you send half of them flying across the floor, quickly teleporting near her. ,,Nice one'' she praises as she chuckles. The room fills with the sound of more grunting and gunshots as the last wave of guards attempt to stop you from exiting with all the informations you had gathered. It doesn't take too long before the four of you manage to send them to the floor as well. Caught in the heat of it all, you had missed the excruciating pain you felt on your back, swallowing the lump in your throat and ignoring the obvious signs of pain and shock your body was alerting you of.
,,Detka, you okay?'' Natasha reassures as you exit the building and make your way towards the quinjet. ,,All good'' you smile, before she buckles you into your seat and begins taking you all back home. You should have said something, the pain increasing by the minute and causing your vision to blur slightly as you feel the throbbing pain in your shoulder. You had always been a little stubborn, not wanting to show weakness in front of them as especially your girlfriends lifes so far had been filled with nothing but pain and grief. And you never wanted to add to it, always making sure to help them out in whatever way you could, whether it was helping Nat with training, Cordelia with the academy or Wanda with things she was doing around the house.
Before your eyes feel heavier by the minute, you manage to linger your hand over the source of the pain, your magic slowly easing it a little before you allow your eyes to close. Your healing magic for sure was nothing compared to Wanda or Delia's and so the only thing it managed to do is ease the pain, lulling you to sleep a little, however the bullet remaining inside your shoulder, as well as blood dripping slowly down the inside of your clothing. It doesn't take long before you make it back, the quinjet allowing you to travel through the sky in no time before making it back to headquarters. As Natasha gets ready to follow the others, her eyes land on your sleeping form, still strapped into your seat and she can't help but frown, knowing how tiring and exhausting missions could be. ,,Detka, wake up'' she tries softly, nudging your shoulder moments later in an attempt to wake you.
As the pain shoots through your body again, your eyes widen, your mouth slightly agape but quickly composing yourself as you see the concerned green eyes from your girlfriend in front of you. She had noticed of course, ever the perceptive one, how your face was much paler, eyes filled with pain and the slight wincing when she had woken you moments ago. ,,Are you okay?'' she tries again, before you quickly nod, unbuckling your seatbelt and quick on your feet. Despite the dizzy spell, you take your girlfriends hand and lead her outside, following the others as you wanted nothing more than to get home. The redhead knew you to be stubborn, even secretive at times and she could tell something was up, assuming that maybe you indeed were simply tired and worn out after today, unbeknownst of the wound and the blood that continued dripping down the inside of your uniform.
The meeting following after, as well as the mission report feel like an eternity and you can't help but seek the comfort of your girlfriend. Mid meeting you had subconsciously reached for her hand underneath the table and she squeezed it tight, you not usually the affectionate type, especially when it was outside of your home and sacred, safe walls. After another hour, Natasha is quick to guide the two of you outside and back home, noticing how with each minute passing you seem more tired and practically falling asleep on her shoulder. She couldn't help but admire how comfortable you seem, resting your head on her and how her presence noticeably made you feel safe. She had taken a mental note to get either Wanda or Cordelia to check on you after this mission, making sure that you didn't get hurt, whether that was physically or something bothering you else wise.
,,Malishka, we're home'' the voice of your girlfriend softly awakens you, your eyes quickly falling shut again as the pain continued to pierce through you and almost take your breath away.
,,Come on sleepyhead'' she tries again, chuckling a little before you follow her inside, your heart beating a little faster as you think about getting to see your girlfriends in a moment.
As soon as the two of you step inside, the air is filled with both Cordelia and Wanda's cooking. You can't help but smile, assuming that Delia had cooked dinner and Wanda probably baked something, the two of them enjoying greeting you like that after a long mission. ,,Hi there'' Cordelia beams, greeting Natasha with a kiss on the cheek, before opening her arms to you. ,,Hi sweetheart'' Cordelia coos, as you practically fall into her arms, the exhausting heavy on your features and tired body. ,,There are my two favourite girls'' Wanda chuckles softly upon laying eyes on you both.
,,How did it go?'' Wanda asks curiously, not really having been able to think about much other than the two of you and the mission, despite Cordelia trying to distract her. ,,All good, our detka kicked ass'' Natasha chuckles, causing Wanda to smirk a little and Cordelia to smile proudly.
The supreme could tell there was something bothering you, her senses and the love she feels for you, instantly alerting her of something. However she wasn't quite sure what but the way you had held onto her for a second longer than your usual greeting hug, the way your eyes looked a little different and missed the usual sparkle and just your overall form. ,,Are you two hungry?'' Wanda tries, watching as Natasha is quick to toss her jacket away, having already showered at the compound but you insisting on showering at home. ,,Shower first please'' you manage to mumble out, before the three of them share a knowing glance. ,,Of course sweetheart'' Cordelia softly assures before you walk towards the bedroom. ,,Need any help zlatko?'' Wanda tries but you simply shake your head, thankfully declining her offer.
As soon as the shower is to be heard, Wanda and Cordelia simultaneously glance at Natasha, who stands by the kitchen counter, already stuffing some of the cookies that Wanda had made into her mouth. ,,What?'' she shrugs, her two girlfriends not being able to hide the smirk at her adorable antics. ,,How did that mission go Nat? really?'' Wanda tries, her and the blonde sharing the same concern over you. ,,It was good'' Natasha begins speaking, trying to swallow the cookies before getting scolded for speaking with her mouth full. ,,Y/N was great- as always'' she reassures before she meets their concerned glances. ,,I think she's tired, she fell asleep pretty much as we headed back and she's been a bit clingy since'' the redhead announces, before taking another mouthful of cookies and Wanda raises an eyebrow in return.
A set of green eyes meet Cordelia's brown ones, Wanda sharing the concern over you and knowing it had always been important to you to keep this professional, especially when around the others. Meanwhile you had somehow managed to get inside the shower, washing most of the blood and dirt away from the day, despite the soaring pain that was hard to ignore by now. It took you a while to wash yourself, really only having one arm available to do so. Before you know it, you find yourself half dressed, in front of the bathroom mirror, on your tip toes, trying hard to get a good look on your wound and trying to determine what you needed to do in order to heal it with your magic abilities. However as you try to turn a little, another wave of dizziness washes over you, causing you to stumble forwards and grip towards the sink, causing the several shampoo, conditioner and soap bottles to fall to the ground with an alarming noise.
,,Sweetheart, are you alright?'' you hear the voice of your blonde girlfriend moments later, internally cursing yourself for being so stupid and knowing they would be furious if they found out like this now. ,,Darling?'' Wanda tries next, and despite wanting nothing more than to answer, to reassure that you are fine and make the worry very evident in their voices, go away, you couldn't. The dizziness held a tight grip around you, making it impossible to open your eyes, the bright light only adding to your state. The pain causing the lump in your throat to get bigger, tears beginning to spill almost if your eyes had been open. It takes mere seconds before the door bursts open and you are unsure in your state whether you had locked it to begin with, unsure whether Natasha had simply kicked in the door, or whether your other two girlfriends had used their magic to open the door.
,,Y/N'' Cordelia calls out, watching your frame as you grip harder around the sink, Wanda's eyes immediately landing on your shoulder and seeing the blood and wound. They are quick to rush over, Wanda also calling for Natasha and the redhead quick to equally jolt towards the bathroom. ,,What happened?'' the redhead speaks with concern, before her eyes lay upon you. ,,Dammit detka'' she curses, finally understanding what had happened and why you had been so quiet. ,,Alright, sweetheart, let's sit you down'' Cordelia tries softly, despite the panic very evident in her voice and features. Wanda and Natasha are quick to get you to sit down, careful of your injury. ,,Looks like it's still in there'' the redhead remarks, having seen her fair share of gunshots in her line of work. ,,You can fix this right?'' she asks, her voice betraying the hint of worry as the color continues draining from your face.
Wanda and Cordelia's gazes meet, certain they can fix this but determining how. Their magics worked quite differently and while it would take healing potions and swamp mud for Cordelia to fix it, it pretty much only takes a flick of Wanda's wrist to fix your injury and so she is quick to light her hands in a red color before the blood and bullet slowly fade, making the wound disappear altogether. Cordelia watches in awe, Natasha watching in relief as your shoulder is back to normal due to Wanda's magical abilities. ,,Darling, are you alright?'' the scarlet witch questions softly, noticing your face still a little pale and face scrunched up in pain. In reality, you felt more guilty than anything, knowing they would be upset with you now, the pain still lingering on your shoulder due to the impact and how long it had been there. ,,Fine, thank you'' you manage to mumble, before Cordelia is quick to help you on your feet and finish getting you dressed.
As the supreme leads you back towards the bedroom, offering you some rest after the shock from today, you can already hear your other girlfriends voices raising from the room next door. ,,Nat, calm down'' Wanda tries softly, noticing how the redhead was visibly upset, pacing back and forth the living room, her fists clenched. ,,No- she should have talked to me for gods sake''. Cordelia frowns watching your guilty eyes and the tears threatening to spill any moment, despite the fatigue and sleepiness very visible in your features and tired eyes. ,,You get some rest darling and we'll be right here'' the supreme reassures, tugging you in a little and pressing a soft, comforting kiss on your forehead.
,,Enough'' the blonde scolds as she makes her way back towards the living room. Natasha simply rolls her eyes, Wanda's concerned eyes following the redhead as she continues pacing. ,,She could have jeopardised the whole mission'' the redhead sighs before she continues speaking ,,If one of us gets hurt, we tell the other one'' she sighs now, the anger slowly subsiding from her features before it turns into hurt, her eyes glistening with tears. ,,Hey hey'' Wanda tries, moving towards her girlfriend before taking her shaky hands into her steady ones. ,,Our little one certainly is good at keeping secrets'' Wanda begins, Cordelia nodding in agreement. ,,But I'm sure she just wanted to keep everyone safe'' Wanda tries reasoning with her girlfriends, despite feeling furious herself, given what could have happened.
,,I didn't see it, I thought she was tired'' Natasha sighs again, almost mumbling the words as a tear falls down her cheek. ,,Honey-'' Cordelia coos, quick to wipe the tear from her girlfriends features. ,,Like Wands here said, she's stubborn but you couldn't have known'' they reassure, slowly coaxing the avenger out of her shell and state. ,,I'm sure you must be hungry darling'' the blonde tries softly, before some guilty puppy eyes meet her brown ones. ,,Come on'' Wanda chuckles, taking Natasha's hand and leading her towards the dining room.
By the time you finally awaken from your slumber, your eyes eventually closing as dark shades of orange and red flooded your bedroom from the sunset, it's now replaced by a darkness. The only light source, a little lamp in the corner of your bedroom. When you turn a little, you notice both the absence of your girlfriends but also of the pain. Wanda's magic really did wonders to your state, as you can move freely without the slightest pain, despite a headache lingering. Slowly, you move the blanket from your tired body, despite feeling sleepy, wanting to be close to your girls and knowing you owed them an apology. As you walk past the dresser, you reach for a cardigan, feeling a little chilly and instantly noticing how it must be Wanda's as her scent and perfume lingers around you, instantly making you feel calm and at home.
As you step through the hallway, glancing at the countless artwork on the walls, as well as the photo wall that Wanda had added a while ago, both dorky selfies and official photos from either of you at events, you smile a little, recalling each day as if it had been yesterday. Your sleep didn't last too long, as by the time your eyes meet them, the three of them are still sitting by the dining table, having finished their meals not too long ago. With a smile, you watch Wanda bringing over the tray of cookies, Cordelia already getting a head start on the dishes. ,,Hi detka'' Wanda greets you softly as she notices you hovering by the doorframe.
,,Hi'' you mumble, the guilt very evident in your voice as your eyes fall upon both Cordelia and Wanda, still avoiding Natasha's gaze as you knew she was furious with you. ,,Are you hungry baby girl?'' the witch questions, causing you to simply nod a little shily before Cordelia reaches for your plate that she had kept warm for you. Hesitantly, you sit beside your girlfriend, Wanda joining the blonde with doing the dishes, knowing you and the redhead could use some quiet to talk this through, knowing you both to be stubborn. You gaze is dropped onto your plate, as you take slow and hesitant bites, despite feeling like starving, suddenly feeling like not eating under Natasha's gaze, the guilt consuming you and nagging at your insides. ,,Detka?'' she tries softly, seeing the genuine remorse in your eyes and feeling bad for her earlier outburst after the two had managed to calm her down.
,,Yeah?'' you whisper softly, your eyes already filling with tears. ,,Can you look at me?'' she tries, hating to see you like this and not having you meet her gaze. As soon as your eyes land upon the redhead, your vision fills with tears and she is quick to move her chair back, allowing you access to settle on her lap. ,,Come here'' she ushers and you comply, quickly getting comfortable on her lap, before holding onto her, as her strong arms wrap around yours. ,,It's okay malishka'' she reassures as she notices you sniffling in her embrace. ,,I'm sorry'' you choke on a sob, pathetically holding onto the hem of her shirt as your guilty eyes meet hers, suddenly feeling overwhelmed with todays events, despite usually being able to stay strong for your girlfriends. However, the thought of upsetting, displeasing your partners killed you inside as all you ever wanted was to make them happy, proud and content.
,,Why didn't you tell me?'' she asks softly after your cries eventually quieten down, listening to her steady heartbeat. Her tone is soft, the question sounding more curious and concerned than stern or angry and you could tell. ,,I just hate letting anyone down'' you sigh, not necessarily knowing how to put your feelings into words. ,,Detka, you didn't let anyone down, you made sure we got out of there'' she reassures, recalling your badass actions. A moment of silent follows, Cordelia and Wanda watching the exchange and a sad smile forming on their lips, seeing you two so closely, despite your pain. ,,What is it, really?'' she tries again, knowing you long enough by now to know that this wasn't the whole truth.
As you glance around, you watch as Cordelia gives you an encouraging smile, still cleaning the kitchen but obviously following the exchange between you two. ,,I just never want to burden you three'' you finally sigh, some more tears streaming from your features. Natasha's eyebrows furrow in confusion, not understanding your statement, considering the four of you had always been so loyal, so honest with each other. And you pick it up, her hesitation, the confusion washing over her face. And you knew if you had told the same to Wanda or your Delia they would have understood, knowing what it feels like to be a burden due to their past. But Natasha was tougher, fierce, being able to work out her demons on her own and having worked through her past mostly on herself.
,,I-'' you hesitate but feel Natasha's hand reaching for yours and squeezing it in a reassuring manner. ,,The three of you have been through enough and I thought I could fix it on my own'' you admit and you watch as her face almost crumbles, finally understanding your actions. And Natasha hated your statement, she hated how you put them first, their pain and grief and past before your own. She wanted to simply hold you and never let you go, tell you that they and she always want to know, always want to take care of you and never having you hide these things. ,,Detka'' she begins, taking a deep breath and hooking her finger underneath your chin so you can look into her green eyes.
,,Detka, you mean the world to us and we never want you to hide from us, we want to be there for you, just like you are always there for us three'' she reassures, watching your eyes and wanting to make sure you understand her statement. ,,Besides darling, you are a witch, not some super soldier'' she chuckles a little ,,Did you really think you could fix this without us noticing'' and your guilty puppy eyes meet her own yet again. ,,I'm just glad you're okay'' she reassures before holding you a little tighter and you finally manage to relax in her touch.
It doesn't take long, before Wanda and Cordelia join the two of you again, the supreme giving you a reassuring and proud smile for opening up, knowing it wasn't your strong suit. Wanda doing the same towards Natasha, glad the redhead had managed to calm down and talk this through with their detka. ,,Can I have a cookie now?'' you frown, before Cordelia and Wanda chuckle passing you the tray. ,,You didn't even touch your dinner darling'' Cordelia scolds softly, raising an eyebrow. ,,I'm an avenger, I can have dessert before dinner'' you protest, the three of them chuckling before Natasha presses a kiss to your forehead while still holding you in her arms. ,,Are you now?'' Wanda chuckles, finding your antics and the sight in front of her adorable. ,,Our badass avenger'' Natasha confirms, glancing at her other two lovers with a proud and satisfied smirk.

This Must Be The Place: Chapter 5 - I feel numb
Biker!Bucky x Femme Reader
Back at your beloved late grandmother's home to pack up her house, you have a run-in with the town's biker gang 'The Howling Commandos' and find yourself entangled with the metal armed President.
Series Masterlist
Warnings: Bucky is a dick in this one. Angst! Jealousy! Idiots who don't communicate!! But I’m loving Steve...He’s moving in a different direction than planned but I’m enjoying it.
Surprise chapter drop! This came outta nowhere lol. Thanks again for all your reblogs and comments, I truly can’t emphasise enough how much they mean to me.
Tumblr media
You had whiplash after the kiss with Bucky in the office. It all happened so fast, so fast you didn’t even really think about it. Not that you needed to, your body thought and spoke for you. Every feeling you had for him was poured into that kiss. Every stolen glance, every secret second of pining. Kissing him felt like the most natural thing in the world. As if you were meant to be doing this. A tiny part of you had almost hoped that if you ever did manage to kiss him, that it would be bad…or worse - uneventful. Then maybe the mediocrity would snap you out of your infatuation and allow you to move forward, finally stop you crushing on a man who you knew would be no good for you.
Alas, no. It had only stoked the embers, the fire for him burning brighter than ever before.
That night you had driven home, Clint riding alongside you on his bike until you were safely behind the front door. That was sweet. You had insisted you were fine and apologised to him for the waste of gas, but he was nonplussed. A loyal soldier doing his duty.
You had laid awake in Granny’s old bed that night, wondering what exactly had led Bucky to make a move. Yes, there had been a bit of flirtation between you both, but you’d got the impression he was like that with women generally – especially if his interactions with Amber and co were anything to go by. You’d met many flirts in your time, and you knew better than to pin hopes and feelings on a bit of banter. Some flirts treated it like a sport, getting girls to fall for them with a few sweet words and well-timed winks just to see if they could. Others just did it to pass the time, enjoying the buzz of the exchanges but never really intending it to go further. You didn’t know which category Bucky fell into, but you were smart enough to keep your wits about you. Or at least try to...
He seemed genuinely shaken up by the incident with the customer, angry that he hadn’t been there to save the day and keep his employees out of harm’s way. Was he worried about you? Or was it a bit of a macho display to save face in front of the MC? Someone had caused trouble on his turf, after all. You didn’t know. Why had he even hired you? Did he like you, or were you just a bit of fun that he knew had an expiration date when you sold the house? Did he feel the same way you did, or just think you were a good time girl who would serve him beer and maybe let him into your pants for a few quickies after hours? You didn’t know. But a glimmer of optimism was blooming.
And just how far would the kiss have gone if Sam hadn’t interrupted? You definitely didn’t know that. All you knew was the dizzying feeling you’d felt when he’d kissed you…and just how down bad you were.
Ugh.
To your disappointment, and possibly helping to confirm where Bucky stood, you didn’t hear from him over the next few days. Only a cursory text from Steve to confirm your next shift. You weren’t sure what you expected, but making out with your boss in the back office wasn’t a regular work activity for you – you at least thought he’d text or something. But maybe that’s where you were going wrong. Maybe that was a typical Sunday night at the bar for him.
You pulled up into the parking lot of The Snake Pit on Wednesday evening to begin your shift. As you wandered in, various members of the MC greeted you and asked about your injuries. You smiled and amiably chatted back, reassuring them all was fine. Nat gave you a wave over by the jukebox before berating Sam about his song choice. Just another regular shift. If anyone knew about your little tryst with Bucky, nobody gave anything away to suggest it.
As you got to the bar, Steve was leaning across it and meticulously inspecting a CCTV camera he must’ve unscrewed from the ceiling. You said hi to Tom who was already working, his tongue sticking out of his mouth as he acknowledged you while very carefully cutting up some lemons.
“Still playing up, huh?” you asked Steve as you started putting clean glasses away.
“Yep,” he replied without looking up. “I thought the connection was loose, but I can’t see any problems with it – so I think it’s something with the individual cameras”.
A couple of the cameras had been on the blink for a week or so, leaving surveillance blindspots in the bar. Bucky was very blasé about it all, but Steve was clearly nervous.
“Want me to call the repair guy?” you asked as you worked around him.
Steve grimaced. “Not yet…I’m just gonna have a play around and see if I can figure it out”.
You poured him a beer as he pulled a screwdriver from his pocket and began opening up the camera’s case.
“Thanks,” he mumbled as you placed the glass in front of him. He hadn’t looked up at you the whole time you’d been there. It would’ve bothered you when you first started here, but you knew now that was just how he was.
“How’s the arm?” he asked suddenly, his eyes still locked on the task in front of him.
“All good, thanks. Bandage was off the next day”.
“Good. And the head?”
“Also good. Just had a bit of a fetching goose egg on my head for a few days”.
“Eh, a look you pulled off, I’m sure”.
You smiled. Steve may have been a man of few words, but he did listen. He did care.
“And don’t worry about that guy. He wouldn’t dream of coming back here. Trust me”.
“Thanks, Steve”.
“Mmm. Y‘welcome” he muttered.
He went quiet again, and you knew that meant the conversation was finished for now so you continued working.
You were just re-stocking the bottle fridges when you realised you hadn’t seen Bucky around yet. You did a quick scan of the room when the front door suddenly flew open.
You couldn’t help the wave of nausea that rushed through as you watched Bucky sweep into the bar, Amber glued to his side as she giggled hysterically at whatever he’d just said. He’d never been that funny, you thought.
Some of the MC members called out to him and he hollered back. Amber was clinging to him, grinning like a Cheshire cat. He dashed by the bar and his eyes caught yours as he walked. He seemed to give you a double take as he stopped.
“You’re working tonight?” he asked, pointing at you accusingly. “I thought you were in tomorrow”.
“Well, hello to you too,” you mumbled back, a little grouchier than planned. But you couldn’t deny that you were expecting a warmer reception.
“I scheduled her,” Steve replied gruffly. “You know those guys from the manufacturing plant are in here Wednesday nights after their shift. We need all hands on deck”.
As if on cue, Tom stumbled behind you and nearly dropped the liquor bottles he was holding.
“Yeah. Guess you’re right,” Bucky replied unconvincingly.
“Buuuucky,” wailed Amber as she tugged on his kutte. “C’moooon…”
Bucky huffed. “Alright…”
He looked at you for a split second, but then they moved over to the other side of the bar. You finally exhaled. You felt stupid. What did you expect? He was going to sweep you up and continue kissing you in front of everyone? You hadn’t even heard from him. God, you thought you’d grown out of this type of thing. Your embarrassment curdled into anger.
As you seethed silently, Steve spoke up again. Well, it was more like a growl than anything as you couldn’t make out what he said.
“Sorry, what did you say?” you asked.
“I said,” and his blue eyes flickered to finally look at you, “Don’t believe everything you see”.
You frowned. “Cryptic…”
“You heard me”.
You watched as he turned and pointedly looked over at Bucky and Amber. Bucky was chatting away to Nat as Amber held onto his metal arm with a vice grip, holding court with the other girls. She was showing Bucky off like a prize.
You felt your face flush. Did…he know? Did Bucky tell him about what happened between the two of you? And what was he inferring about Bucky and Amber?
You went to question him further, but he slipped off the bar stool without another word, zipping off across the room to reattach the CCTV camera.
*
The shift was a particularly painful one. You had to stand and watch as Amber was all over Bucky like a bad rash. He wasn’t necessarily reciprocating her attention – moving through the group drinking, chatting, but equally he wasn’t shaking her off, either. He seemed perfectly happy to have an Amber-shaped appendage, occasionally giving her breadcrumbs in the form of a smile or a wink which she happily devoured. He hadn’t acknowledged you since his admission of surprise that you were here.
Ugh.
Fortunately for you, Steve’s prediction about the plant guys keeping things busy was entirely correct. You and Tom would have bursts of activity as the group all seemed to go in for another round at once, then moments of quiet as they guzzled their drinks back at the tables. You were grateful for the distraction.
The hours clicked by towards the end of the night, and you were tired. Tired of being on your feet all evening. Tired of picking up the slack for Tom. Tired of keeping up with the plant guys who seemed to have bottomless pits inside them that no amount of beer could fill. Tired of how embarrassed you felt by Bucky’s rejection. Tired, tired. Your tank was empty.
The bar had emptied out with only a few stragglers left alongside the MC, so you started cleaning up and closing. You were just stacking some dirty glasses when the high-pitched giggle cut through the air.
You and Tom both turned to see Amber sitting rather unashamedly in Bucky’s lap, giggling as she ran her finger across his chin. He looked back at her with amusement, grinning like a fool.
You squeezed the glass you were holding so tightly that it was a miracle it didn’t break. All the feelings you’d been suppressing suddenly bubbled up, your stomach a nauseating soup of fatigue and hurt. And some rage thrown in for good measure.
“Oh man, she’s so hot…” Tom practically drooled.
That didn’t help.
“I’m just gonna change the Bud barrel,” you muttered in reply, your voice monotonous.
You slipped out through the door behind the bar and quickly rushed down the stairs to the quiet basement where the barrels and stock were kept. Grateful for the privacy, you threw your hands flat against the concrete wall and bent your head towards the floor, exhaling. It took you a moment, but you managed to compose yourself. God, you were stupid.
You unhooked the old barrel and got to work replacing it with the new one, relieved to be doing something with your hands. You berated yourself for getting to this point. A brief make-out session with your boss was hardly a binding contract. It didn’t mean anything. Nothing. Bucky probably got up to more mayhem before 10am most weekdays with his little harem of women. You were just another skirt to him. Jesus. How silly you’d been. You realised maybe you’d let yourself to be caught up in this crush to distract yourself from your Granny and the house. And it was a welcome distraction. But here you were, hiding in the basement at your job and feeling like a high schooler whose crush had invited someone else to prom.
Enough.
You inhaled and finished the task, standing back up and wiping your hands on your jeans.
You straightened up your back and shook your limbs out as you climbed back up the stairs. Time to do what you did best. After all, the only way is through.

Grief (A Friend Indeed) Part 12
And here we are at the end. Thank you so much for being on this journey with me.
Here we have Steve's POV of the last scene from last week, he talks to Hopper and Steve's uncle further proves he'd be a better parent than Clint Harrington.
Pt 1 Pt 2 Pt 3 Pt 4 Pt 5 Pt 6 Pt 7 Pt 8 Pt 9 Pt 10 Pt 11
****
Steve watched Eddie march to the truck and let out a shuddering breath. He thought that they had really connected here. But now as they were going back to Hawkins it appeared that Eddie was just going to leave that here in Ashland.
He got to his car and looked at the sad little cooler and just lost it. He started cursing and hitting the steer wheel.
“Stupid, stupid, stupid!” he hissed. “You never did hear a name, did you, Harrington? Apparently he was in love with someone else all this time and was only being nice because you were having a mental break down.”
He could feel the tears stream down his face. Bitter and angry. “You should have been supporting him not the other way round. That’s probably why he’s soooo pissed at you. Because he was grieving and you made it all about you. Like you always do. Fuck!”
Just then the passenger side door was wrenched open and Eddie slid in.
The tears dried up instantly in his surprise. “Eds?”
And then Eddie proceeded to just knock all his intrusive thoughts out of the fucking ballpark. Just sent them running like a scared dog with its tail between its legs.
Then kissed him about it.
They still needed to have a proper conversation but that could wait until they were back in Hawkins.
Steve could live with that.
*
When they got home they had that talk. Eddie learned about all the different girls who had propositioned him and was pissed on his behalf.
“That’s fucking bullshit,” he said. “You shouldn’t have had to deal with that.”
Steve shrugged. “You had enough on your plate. Plus, I sicced Uncle Danny after them.”
Eddie blinked. “Oh. I think I would have paid good money to see that.”
“I didn’t have to send anyone after Beth though,” Steve said with a grin, “Lauren did that all on her own.”
“I’m so glad you two got along,” Eddie murmured. “But in the future, you tell me these things. I want to protect you, the way you protect everyone else, okay?”
Steve agreed.
Wayne walked into the new house provided by the government, wiping his hands on an old rag.
“Everything is in the garage for us to sort and place later,” he told Eddie.
“You two going to be wanting help getting everything in?” Steve asked.
Wayne shook his head. “Lauren and her Uncle Hal are coming out next week to help out.”
Eddie ran his tongue over his teeth thoughtfully. “Yeah? I didn’t hear about that.”
Wayne had the presence of mind to blush. “It must have slipped my mind.”
“Uh-huh,” Steve and Eddie said together.
Wayne cleared his throat. “So I’m going to be seeing you a lot more now that you and Ed are together?”
Steve grinned, wrapping his arms around Eddie’s waist and putting his head on his shoulder. “I’ll be here so often, you’ll think I live here.”
Wayne hummed. “We’ll come back to that in a few months.”
Eddie blushed. “Nice to know you aren’t planning the wedding already, old man.”
Wayne blinked innocently. “Oh I am, but I’m thinking fall of next year or the year after.”
Eddie coughed and sputtered as Steve laughed.
He turned to Steve. “Why aren’t you defending me against this?” He waved at Wayne’s smug expression.
“Because I’m already coming up with arguments for a late spring early summer wedding instead.”
Eddie’s jaw dropped. “That’s some confidence you got there, darlin’. What makes you think I’ll say yes.”
Steve kissed him, slow and searing.
Eddie blushed. “Yup. Okay. Uh-huh. Point made.”
Wayne just smiled fondly.
*
Steve was really starting to regret setting the party on his Uncles Percy and David.
Robin, El, and Will had kidnapped Percy, while Dustin, Mike, and Nancy had absconded with David somewhere.
Eddie, Lauren, and Jonathan were talking to Hal and Lucas, Max, and Erica were talking to Wayne.
Hopper came up to Steve and put his arm around his shoulders.
Steve relaxed into the embrace.
“You did good, kid,” Hopper said. “I’m proud of you.”
Steve nodded and then rubbed the end of his nose, trying to fight back the tears.
“I had a long talk with Joyce about some of her choices that she made while I was gone,” he continued. “I’m glad I’m out of that hell hole, but she should have made sure everyone was safe first.”
“She had a lot on her plate,” Steve murmured.
Hopped cuffed the back of his head. “Don’t you go forgiving her without her apologizing first. I had to go back to California because apparently some fucked up general decided to shoot up the Byers house in Lenora.”
Steve looked over at Hopper in shock. “They did what now?”
Hopper nodded. “It was a complete shit show. But you have to know, I wouldn’t have just left you behind if I didn’t think you could handle it.”
“I know, I just...”
“Just wish you didn’t have to handle it?” he asked. Steve nodded. “I getcha. I wish you didn’t have to either. But I trust you to take care of everyone here, because I know they’re in safe hands with you.”
Steve choked back a sob. “Thanks, Hop.”
“Still can’t believe you’re dating that Munson kid,” he teased.
Steve pushed Hop way playfully. “Oh fuck off. He’s a good man.”
Hop looked over at him talking to Jonathan and Hal. “If he gets you to take care yourself or at least does it for you, he gets a pass from me.”
Steve blushed. “He takes care of me. It’s incredible how easy he makes it look.”
“I know your family was shit growing up,” Hop said. “But look at it now.”
Steve looked out at the fifteen-sixteen people out there lounging around the swimming pool with fondness.
“I always wanted a big family,” he said softly. “Who would have thought that all it would take is some extra-dimensional monsters to make it happen.”
Hopper chuckled. “I feel you kid. Before I started all this, I had lost my daughter to cancer and my wife to divorce. Now, not only do I have another daughter to take care of, I have a woman I love and her two boys that are like her sons to me.”
Steve made a grimace. “Does that mean Jonathan is my step-brother, because ew.”
“I heard that Harrington!” Jonathan called out.
Steve and Hopper laughed.
Eddie came bounding up to Steve. “I’m not sure I want the Chief as a father-in-law, babe.”
Steve smiled. “Oh that is going to make for some very awkward family dinners.
Percy came up behind Eddie.
“Hello, I’m Steve’s uncle, Percy,” he said extending his hand to Hopper to shake.
“Yeah,” Hopper said. “I’ve been hearing all about you. I’m sorry Clint Harrington kept you away from Steve for all this time.”
Percy nodded. “Jasper being an idiot didn’t help, unfortunately. But I’m in Steve’s life for good. There’s nothing that his parents could do that would change that.”
Steve gave Percy a hug in gratitude.
“Welcome to Hawkins then,” Hopper said with a smile. “It’s bit of a mess at the moment, but it’s home.”
“Well,” Percy said with a smile, “the welcome so far has been amazing I’m happy Steven has a support system now.” He turned to Steve. “May I pull you away for a moment. There’s something I would like to talk to you about.”
Steve looked at Hopper and Eddie who both shrugged. “Sure, lead the way.”
Percy went inside the kitchen and sat down at the counter. “When you told me that you didn’t get into the colleges and universities you applied for, I called around.”
Steve frowned. “Why? My grades slipped after Christmas my senior year. I ended at 2.76 GPA. I figured that wasn’t good enough to get in.”
“Yes,” Percy said. “If they only looked at your senior year. But they don’t. They look at a cumulative GPA from all your years at high school. You had a cumulative GPA of 3.16. Which is more than enough to get into any college you wanted. Especially with you still winning medals in swimming.”
His frown deepened. “But Dad said that I didn’t get into any of those schools.”
“Yes, which I thought was odd,” Percy further explained. “Which is why I called. Steven, you got accepted into two thirds of the schools you applied for.”
Steve leaned back. “What? That’s not possible.”
“I’m guessing Clint only showed you the one third you didn’t get into and told you the rest was the same.”
“Why?” he breathed. “Why would he do that?”
“Because the schools you got into weren’t the ones he wanted you to go to is my next guess.”
“I can go to college?” Steve asked, his lip quivering. “I don’t have to be stuck here my whole life?”
Percy shook his head. “You are a smart young man, and David and I are very committed to helping you get to where you want to go in life. Your parents mail have failed you, but I promise we won’t.”
Steve let out a shaky breath. “Thank you so much.”
Percy got up and hugged him. “Now go back out to your boy, he’ll be worried about you.”
Steve nodded and walked back out.
Percy followed close behind and wrapped his arm around David’s waist.
“You think they’re going to be okay?” David asked as they watch Steve and Eddie cling to each other.
“Oh yes,” Percy said. “It may have taken a tragedy to get them here, but they are smart boys with a great support system. There is nothing those boys can’t do now.”
“I’m happy to have met them,” David said.
“Me too.”

Who Are You? Chapter 2 || F!Reader x Wanda Maximoff
Tumblr media
I didn't expect the first part to do so well... I'm speechless at the feedback/responses. I love you all so much.
Enjoy!
Tumblr media
Y/N is in love with Wanda... But Wanda is in love with Spider Noir. The thing is, Y/N and Spider Noir are the same person - But Wanda doesn't know that. Y/N has a secret identity to uphold.
(Everyone lives AU - Set after DS:MoM)
F!Spider!Avenger!Reader x Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch
Chapter 1
Chapter 3
Words: 3.4k
Tags/Warnings: Fluff, Slight Angst, Alcohol Consumption, Slight Jealousy, Stephen and America being chaotic idiots, Wanda and Y/N being clueless idiots-
Tumblr media
You stopped in your path as your nerves started to surface once you finally saw her. You hadn't seen Wanda since she was injured a couple weeks ago, she had been locked up in her room within the compound away from everyone else. You hoped that she was okay.
"H-Hello, Miss Maximoff," you gulped as you saw her sitting down on a chair in the break room.
"I've told you to call me Wanda, dear," she let out a small laugh, "How have things been? Work is going smoothly, I hope?"
Nodding, you replied, "As smooth as things could be. Clint has been a good help. I'm sure you've heard, but Thor had to leave for New Asgard because of some daily crimes over there. Infinity Conez has been a target for a lot of theft lately. Other than that, apart from two or three crimes I- the Avengers had to deal with, nothing has really happened..." you trailed off, taking in her features as she blew her coffee before sipping it. You leaned against a nearby counter and cleared your throat before continuing, "How erm... How are you feeling? I heard that something happened to you when you were sent out by Steve." You prayed that she wouldn’t catch onto your lies.
She motioned down towards her foot, "Sprained ankle. Severe damage apparently, according to doctors. I'd say I came out okay considering everything that happened, though. My magic is slowly helping me with the healing process at least," she held up a hand, you watched the red magic swirl through her fingers. Darkened fingers. You bit your lip to stop yourself from asking her about them, thinking that it was an extremely personal question and you really didn't want to overstep any boundaries. A soft smile appeared on her lips, a whisper soon escaped her, “Spider Noir saved me. She was incredible.”
You couldn’t help but look away, "I'm glad you're okay, Miss Ma- Wanda. Will you... be out on the field again soon?" you asked, secretly hoping that she would. You missed fighting side by side, you had also been assigned to go on patrols with a number of different Avengers as Spider Noir and you prayed that she would be your partner for at least one day.
She nodded, "I expect so."
"I'll see if I can get Steve to give you a longer break," you smiled up at her.
"Good luck with that," she laughed before taking another sip of coffee, "Sam could probably be swayed... But Steve? Now, that's a challenge."
You couldn't help but admire her laugh, you had to shake your head to break you away from your trance - you quickly opened a cupboard and began to make a drink, anything to distract yourself from the other woman in the room. Clearing your throat as you started to pour a drink, you spoke, "I'll get out of your hair. I've got a couple things to do, what with work and all."
"Hmm..." you couldn't help but notice how deep in thought she was, "Good luck. I'll be around a lot more if you need any help."
"Th-Thanks," you turned your head to hide your blush as you walked past her seat.
As you were about to leave the room, Wanda quickly called, "Y/N?" you turned to look at her, hoping that your cheeks had returned to a somewhat normal color, "Since you are starting to assign the Avengers for specific missions... Perhaps you could have a chat with Sam and Steve about assigning Avengers for... patrols, too?"
"O-Oh?" you hoped that she didn't hear the sadness in your voice. The thought of her wanting to spend some time with someone other than you...
"If that's not too much to ask, of course?"
"N-No! Not at all," you assured, "Who did you...?"
"Spider Noir, if possible," her eyes looked down towards the cup of coffee in her hands.
That was when your heart started to beat rapidly, "S-Spider Noir? The newbie?"
She nodded, "Yes. Although I wouldn't really class her as a newbie anymore, it has been a couple months. I just wanted to get to know her more, I guess? I still feel awful for knocking her out of the sky when we first met," she let out a disappointed sigh.
"Yes!" you said, a little too enthusiastically, "I will speak to Sam and Steve."
"Thank you," she looked up and nodded towards you.
That was when you took your leave, your heart continued to beat fast.
Tumblr media
"Go on! Give it a try!"
You scoffed, "You're just mocking me."
"I'm not mocking you! What if deep down you are worthy?!"
Jane, or Mighty Thor as she preferred to go by, had called you to come over to the Avengers compound for a little get-together. The problem was, she was calling Spider Noir. So as soon as you left the building as Y/N, you immediately swung back in as Spider Noir.
You lifted your mask to knock back a shot of alcohol before slamming the glass down on the coffee table, you quickly lowered your mask to hide your mouth once again.
"I'm getting a huge sense of deja vu," Steve chuckled as he leaned back in his seat, "Go on, kid. Give it a try," he encouraged you.
"Oh, this I gotta see," Bucky laughed as he folded his arms and stood behind you, waiting for you to pick up Mjölnir.
"I'll do it as long as everyone else tries," you decided.
Steve shrugged, "I mean, I don't need to try."
"What? Why?" you questioned, slightly confused.
"Steve has already proved to be worthy," Tony said as he approached.
"Really?" shock laced your words.
"Yup," Steve smirked towards you.
Jane placed a comforting hand on your shoulder, "Come on. Give it a shot."
Of course, you couldn't say no.
That obviously didn't go well.
Everyone started to laugh as each Avenger took turns to try and pick up Mjölnir. Clint, Tony, Bucky- Even Natasha and Sam came over to have a go. The final Avenger to take the stand was Steve, and of course he picked it up with ease, "Still not used to that feeling," he chuckled before handing it back to Jane.
"Maybe one day, guys!" Jane smirked before taking a sip of her drink.
The people around you started to chat, that was when you cocked your head and spoke to Jane, "Sooo..." you took a seat in between Jane and Clint, "You go by Thor. But... Thor also goes by Thor. Right?"
"Yes?"
"So what happens when you're both in the same room? What do people call Thor?"
"Thor."
"And what do people call you?"
"Thor."
Confusion. Nothing but confusion.
"You've lost me," you held your head in your hands.
"Just call her Jane," Clint nudged your shoulder with a smile on his lips.
Jane glared at you and him, "Call me Mighty Thor at least."
Holding your hands up in defence and looking back up at her, you replied, "Okay, okay. Mighty Thor, it is," a laugh escaped you. This was the first time you had had a proper conversation with Jane since being here. You had exchanged hellos here and there, but nothing too concrete.
A much as you were enjoying the company of a number of different Avengers you still glanced around the room, hoping to find a certain witch.
Your eyes quickly locked onto her. She was sitting down by the bar, a pained expression crossing her face as she slowly drank from her cup. She occasionally glared towards Jane who was still seated next to you. Your senses tingled slightly at the sight. You excused yourself before standing.
You pointed your wrists up towards the ceiling and latched on, pulling yourself up.
"I swear, if I find any footprints up there!" Tony exclaimed from below.
"No promises!" you called back with a laugh as you crawled along the ceiling.
Wanda couldn't stop the smile from appearing on her face as she watched you lower yourself down next to her, "Nice of you to swing by," she said as you took a seat next to her.
You laughed at her attempt of a joke, "I sensed that something was up. Just wanted to make sure you were okay."
Her smile turned sad before she turned to lean her arms down against the bar, turning her glass in her hands, "It's my ankle. Again. I hoped that my magic would help heal it. I'm just slightly worried that it won't."
"With or without magic, it will heal on its own," you did your best to reassure her.
"I know... I just would've liked to be back out there on the field sooner."
"Oh?" you wondered, "Any particular reason?"
She sighed heavily, taking another gulp of her drink, "I... Did some things I'm not proud of. I've been doing my best to go out there on every possible mission to try and help as many people as I can to hopefully make up for the things I did. I hate just sitting here and doing nothing, I have to be out there as soon as possible to continue making up for my mistakes."
"Sounds like you're being a bit too hard on yourself, Wanda."
"If you knew the things that I did..." she muttered.
"I'd still support you," you reassured, "You deserve a break here and there. You'll be back on your feet in no time, though. Just gotta get as much rest in as you can for now," you placed a comforting hand on her shoulder and squeezed it slightly.
Wanda downed the rest of her drink in response, "I also wanted to get back out there so... So I could go on patrols with you."
You dropped your hand before letting out a shaky breath, "With me?" your turned your head away slightly, as if you were trying to hide your blush despite having a mask.
"I'm so grateful that you saved me, Noir. I want to be with you as much as possible so I can return the favour."
"I would do it again, Wanda," you shook your head, "You don't need to return the favour at all. I wasn't just going to leave you there."
"I still remain thankful. You deserve to have someone watching your back at all times."
You let out a small laugh, "You're welcome, Wanda," your voice was soft.
A peaceful atmosphere surrounded you and Wanda. You drank together, with you lifting your mask up every now and then to take a sip. You missed the subtle glances that Wanda took towards your lips, she hoped that she would find out who you were one day. The two of you joked together, a couple other Avengers came and went - joining in with your conversation. They were happily welcomed by the two of you.
“Y/N even said she would speak to Steve and Sam about letting us go out together. I hope she can get through to them.
You couldn’t help but bite your lip.
"We have to go back to training again. I miss those first few weeks with you... a-and Peter," you admitted.
"But you've already come so far?" Wanda questioned, "You've already mastered your powers by the looks of things."
"Couldn't hurt to have another session anyways?"
Wanda wasn't able to resist, "No. I guess not. Once this thing has healed up," she nodded down towards her ankle, "I'll ask Peter to join us."
"Or... We could just train together?"
"J-Just the two of us?" Wanda's voice was barely a whisper.
"Yeah! I-If you'd like that of course! We can have Peter join if that's too uncomfortable-"
"No, it's fine!" she quickly replied, "I... I would like to train with you."
"You would make a worthy opponent," you nudged her, "Don't you dare hold back."
Wanda smirked, her trademark head tilt made your body stiffen, "Careful what you wish for."
You couldn't wait until her foot healed.
Tumblr media
Wanda had reluctantly let you go off to talk to some of the others before the night was officially over. She couldn't help but tense up as she watched a certain someone approach you.
"Well well well..." a voice behind you caught your attention, "If it isn't the one and only Spider Noir."
Your jaw almost dropped to the floor as you finally saw who it was, "D-Doctor Strange, sir!" you hadn't met him yet due to classified business that he and his partner 'Clea' had been getting up to. You firmly took his hand and shook it, "It's a pleasure meeting you, honestly. I've heard so much about you."
He chuckled at your greeting, "It's a pleasure to meet you, too. I'm quite impressed with how you've been handling things around here. According to the other Avengers, you've been doing well."
"Th-Thanks!" you exclaimed before finally let his hand go. Before you could get another word in, someone else interrupted.
"Stephen!" a girl shouted, clearly excited as she approached, "You're back! I'm kind of offended that you didn't call," she smirked, folding her arms.
"I only just got back, kiddo," he smiled down at her before he looked back towards you, "Oh! Spider Noir, this is America Chavez. She can erm... Travel the multiverse."
"By choice?" you questioned, slightly shocked, "That's... pretty cool."
America shrugged, "It's okay, I guess."
"'Okay'?!" you scoffed, "Anyone would kill to have powers like that." Unbeknownst to you, Wanda was listening in - a shiver ran down her spine as she heard your words.
The girl laughed, "Yeah, you're right. It's pretty awesome," she then held out her hand, "It's nice to meet you... Sorry, who are you, again?"
"Everyone has seemed to adopt the name 'Noir' for me so... Call me that, or whatever you feel like," you shook her hand, "And I'm already doing a much better job at keeping my identity a secret unlike another certain spider!" you raised your voice slightly, catching the attention of Peter Parker.
"Hey!" he called over, "I-It's not my fault!"
You and America smiled before releasing each other's hands.
"I'm yet again impressed with how well you're handling this secret identity business," Stephen nodded.
The three of you talked, enjoying each other's company. You briefly glanced towards Wanda every now and then. The final time you looked at her, the red glow within her eyes caught your attention.
The get together was going swimmingly, everyone was having a good time just chatting amongst themselves. But in the corner of the room, a certain darkness loomed. Wanda, the Scarlet Witch, was tensing her body as her eyes caught yours.
Stephen and America seemed to notice the shift of tension too, "Has Wanda been okay since I left?" the sorcerer asked America.
"Y-Yeah," she gulped in response, quickly averting her gaze away from the witch.
"What?" you suddenly asked, "Did something happen, or...?"
The other two gave eachother a concerned glance, "I don't think it's right for us to speak of this," Stephen admitted. A certain sadness glossed over his eyes as he briefly looked towards Wanda, "Lets just say, the three of us didn't exactly have the best encounter when I was last here."
"If it's any consolation, she's been doing great since I've been here. What with her saving the city time and time again," you stuck up for her in an instant, despite not knowing the true destruction she had created in the past.
"I don't doubt that she has grown and become a great help to this team. But it still doesn't make up for the pain she caused to numerous amounts of people, America included," Stephen was clearly agitated by the thoughts within his head.
You held up your hands in defence, "Okay. Sorry for prying. I just... It's hard to even imagine Wanda causing any sort of damage, and yet you say different..."
"Don't let us change how you think of her," America quickly inputted, "Please? It's nice to know that she has someone who cares about her."
"Wh-What? Cares?" you questioned.
The girl shrugged, "Yeah. I get that you care about your girlfriend so don't let us stop you-"
"G-Girlfriend?!" you questioned yet again, "Y-You're mistaken, America!" a nervous laugh escaped you.
"Ohhhh..." America laughed, "Okay. I get that you care about your soon-to-be-girlfriend, then."
"And on that note, I'm leaving," you scoffed as you felt the familiar burn of blush cross your cheeks, you headed away before calling over your shoulder, "It was nice to meet you both!"
Stephen couldn't help but laugh along with the young girl.
Tumblr media
Wanda's breathing was laboured.
"And I'm already doing a much better job at keeping my identity a secret unlike another certain spider!"
"Anyone would kill to have powers like that."
She wished that she knew who you were. You had already wiggled your way into her heart and there was no way you would be leaving it anytime soon. The determination to keep your identity a secret is what drew her in to begin with, she made it her mission to find out who you truly were. And that had slowly turned into something more. Despite the constant noise and whispers in her head telling her that you didn't care about her, she still held onto a sliver of hope. Anything to keep her grounded.
When she knocked you out of the sky a little too harshly, her head had been sent into a frenzy. Thoughts of her losing control in the past and hurting America and others across the multiverse surfaced once again.
That was when her fist clenched hard around her glass as she looked through the corner of her eye towards you.
And Stephen Strange.
And America Chavez.
The girl she did indeed try to kill for her powers.
When she knocked you out of the sky a little too harshly, her head had been sent into a frenzy. Thoughts of her losing control in the past and hurting America and others across the multiverse surfaced once again.
Despite trying to block out what you and the others were saying, she couldn't stop herself from listening in the end.
Of course Wanda still had 'dreams' about her other selves and her children. But the Avengers had welcomed her back to her surprise, and now she was on the path to becoming better and learning from her mistakes. She still donned the Scarlet Witch persona whilst out on the battlefield, however.
Upon meeting you, the 'dreams' had slowly died down. She thought that it was perhaps she was losing her focus on what she originally wanted... A new want was slowly surfacing within her.
"I get that you care about your soon-to-be-girlfriend, then."
Wanda almost laughed at that comment, but then she remembered that it was America Chavez who said it. The poor girl who she had most likely traumatized for life. The poor girl who she would forever be sorry towards.
"Hey there, little witch," you quickly came into view, "Everything alright over here? Your eyes were doing that freaky glowy thingy."
Wanda shook her head, her eyes returned to their normal color in no time, "Ah, yes. Just deep in thought, I suppose," she made up a quick lie, it was clearly effective against you.
"Good, good," you nodded.
That was when Wanda remained silent, she tapped her glass on the bar causing a bartender to head over and fill it for her. The woman downed it in one go.
You weren't about to question whether or not she was actually okay. But by the looks of things, she definitely wasn't.
There was still quite a lot you didn't know about the Scarlet Witch, it seemed. But you sure as hell wanted to find out.

You and Steve have been dating for a few weeks now. Steve took you on a few dates and sometimes you were just chilling at his home or your apartment. Date nights usually were somewhere where he thought he didn’t get recognized. Sometimes there were a few fans who wanted a picture with Steve, but it was never a big problem for you, and no one ever asked who you were. You were so happy to have him back in your life and so was Steve.
Today was the day Steve decided to take you with him to a band rehearsal. It made you so happy to finally see the boys again and watch them sing together. It’s been so long since you saw them, and you can’t wait to give them all a hug. You had a short shift at work today, so Steve picked you up from your workplace and you were currently on your way to the boys. Steve walked beside you and held your hand while you walked from the car to the building. Before Steve opened the door you could already hear music coming from the inside. You both chuckled and Steve gave you a soft kiss before opening the door. When Steve opened the door, the boys immediately stopped what they were doing and looked up. They all smiled when they saw you.
“Hey, y/n!” Sam said. You walked closer to them and greeted them.
“It’s so nice to finally see you again.” Sam said when you hugged him. Then it was Bucky’s turn for the hug. He gave you a very warm and welcoming smile before he wrapped his arms around you.
“It’s so great to have you back.” Bucky said after breaking the hug. Then there was the last one you needed to give a hug.
“Great so see you again” Clint said after you pulled away. When you turned around you looked at Steve.
“I think your boyfriend is getting jealous.” Sam said with a chuckle and Steve began to blush.
“You don’t have to be, Steve.” You walked closer to him, cupped his cheek and gave him a soft kiss. You smiled at each other when you broke the kiss.
“I wasn’t jealous.” Steve mumbled and you chuckled.
“Are you sure?” You asked and he looked at the ground for a second before looking into your eyes again.
“Maybe I was a little bit jealous.” Steve admitted.
“You really don’t have to, okay?” You said and he nodded before giving you a last kiss. Then he turned around. You all talked for a while until Steve decided that it was time to rehearse some songs. You took a seat in front of them and listened to them. You still couldn’t believe how they got from a band that was just singing for fun to a successful band that was now having a lot of fans and singing in big halls. Watching them sing now is almost like it was back in high school. One thing that was different back then was that you couldn’t look too much at Steve without blushing but now you were looking at him the whole time. You smiled at each other, and it felt like he was singing for you. At one song he even walked over to you. You stood up and he took your hand and spinned you around. You laughed and so did he and you could see how Bucky smiled in the back. After that song they took a little break and sat down. You sat down next to Steve and took his hand.
“What are you actually practicing for?” You asked after a while.
“I thought you would never ask.” Sam said with a chuckle.
“It’s for the festival at Coney Island in two weeks.” Steve said beside you.
“Oh, that’s so cool. We definitely have to go on some rides when we are there.” You said and looked over at Steve.
“Of course.”
“But not with the Cyclone.” Bucky and you both said at the same time and began to laugh while Steve was looked between the two of you and wasn’t laughing.
“You two will never leave me alone with that, right.” Steve asked and you and Bucky looked at each other and shook your head.
“No, never.” You said and you looked back at him. You chuckled and Steve just shook his head. Steve, Bucky and you once went to Coney Island together. Steve didn’t want to ride the Cyclone, but you and Bucky dragged him into it. Steve threw up while you were all in the Cyclone and since then you and Bucky were sometimes teasing Steve about it.
That’s what you had been missing all those years. Sitting with them and talking and laughing. Yeah, you had Yelena, and you sometimes hang out with your work colleagues, but it was never the same like with them. After the break, they sang one last song, well they sang it twice it had a few mistakes the first time. When they were finished, they have all packed their things.
“Do you guys have anything planned today?” Sam asked while Bucky packed his guitar into the bag. Bucky looked up and spoke.
“Not much, I just hang out with Alpine and maybe try something new on the guitar.” Alpine is Bucky’s cat you found out earlier. Then Sam and Clint said what they would do later.
“And you two?” Clint asked.
“Nothing special, right?” You said and looked over to Steve.
“Actually, we are going out for dinner.” Steve said and you were surprised.
“Oh, we do?” You smiled and Steve took your hand. You all said goodbye and they wished you a nice date night. Steve drove back to your apartment, then you changed into some other clothes. While you changed, he quickly went to his car where he had other clothes and then changed too.
A while later you were both sitting in a beautiful restaurant. Steve reserved a table in the back, so that you have it more private. You had a good time there with Steve. When Steve suggested to order a dessert, a waiter came to your table. He nervously looked at Steve for a second and then began to talk.
“Mr. Rogers. My boss told me to let you know that there are a few fans outside and some paparazzi.”
“Oh, Shit.”
“Steve, language.” You teased him and Steve chuckled a little but then went serious again.
“I’m sorry, could I please pay and then we’ll want to leave.” Steve said and the waiter nodded. Steve paid for the both of you and the waiter left.
“I’m so sorry honey. I thought we were safe here, but I think I was wrong. I’m sorry you have to go out there, where the fans and paparazzi are waiting.” You reached for his hand and squeezed it.
“It’s okay, Steve. It’s not your fault. I don’t care about that; I knew something like this could happen when we started dating.” You gave him a smile.
“Are you sure?” He asked and you nodded. Then Steve moved your hand to his mouth and pressed a soft kiss on the back of it.
“Okay, but at least take my cap.” Steve said and gave you the cap he had when you came in.
“And don’t look at them just take my hand and we walk to my car.”
“Okay.” You said and walked to the door. Before walking out you looked at each other again and Steve pressed a kiss on your cheek. When you walked out, all you could hear was the clicking of the cameras, some shouting and the light from the camera was so bright. You could barely see where you were going and tried not to look at them like Steve said but it was a bit difficult because the paparazzi was shouting something. You and Steve just walked to his car. He opened the door for you, and you quickly sat down. When Steve sat down too, he immediately pulled down the sun visor at both sides of the car. He drove away and rested his hand on your thigh.
“Are you okay?” He looked over to you and asked.
“Yeah.” You said and he nodded not sure if you were saying the truth. When you arrived at Steve’s home, he gave you some of his clothes to change. You cuddled up in bed and watched a movie. You were glad that you still had a good date night.
You were cuddled up to Steve when you woke up to the sound of your phone vibrating. Steve was still asleep, so you tried not to wake him up as you reached for your phone on the bedside table. When you unlocked your phone, you received many messages from Yelena.
“Y/N”
“Oh, Shit”
“Did you already saw it?”
“You have to look on this article!!!”
“That’s you right?!?!”
You read her messages and then decided to click on this article that she sent you. When you saw the headline, you couldn’t believe what you saw.
“Oh, shit.” You accidentally said it out loud and looked over at Steve who was now starting to wake up.
“Everything okay, honey?” Steve softly said and you didn’t know what to say.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Steve knew immediately that something was wrong. So, instead of saying anything, you turned your phone towards him so he could read the headline.
“Oh no, I’m so sorry.” He said when he saw the article.
“Who is this mysterious lady at Steve Roger’s side?” Was the headline with a few pictures of the two of you leaving the restaurant last night. Because of the cap, your face couldn’t really be seen, but it still felt strange that the world knew now about you and Steve. Well, they didn’t know who you were, but they knew he is dating someone. But it’s okay, because sooner or later they would have found out anyway. Especially when you’re going to the festival with him in two weeks. You want to go there because you want to support him, be there for him and the band and maybe have fun there too.

Clintasha Advent (6)
Prompt Clint & Nat in her early Shield days: she doesn't understand the act of giving presents without expecting anything in return and/or doesn't want to accept a present as she doesn't want to be even more in Clint's dept (in her way of thinking). Have a wonderful Advent season!
For/Prompter: @callousedhandskindhearts
Warnings: much of this is under the cut because a lot refers to quid-pro-quo gifting, and what that meant for the girls in the red room. There is nothing graphic in there as it’s all conversations.
Word count: 680
A/N: if I had the time, I’d make this longer. I hope your advent season is also lovely.
.
Clint looks at the candle Maria shows him.
“I think she needs something different than a candle,” he tells her, smelling it then putting back.
The shopping centre felt like a bust.
“What are we going to do with her at Christmas?” Maria asks, holding up another for him to smell.
“She’s not a lost dog,” he replies disdainfully.
“Do you think she even understands the concept?”
The words feel offensive to Clint as he looks at his friend with a disapproving frown.
“I’m not being mean,” she starts.
“I’m just saying, that if you give her something and she has nothing to give you, do you think that she’ll feel obliged to give you something… you know, in the way that she previously been made to?”
Clint feels his heart sink.
He understands what Maria is getting at.
“You’re not being mean, but calling her a whore?”
Maria hits him.
“No, you know that’s not what I meant. I’ve been by your side for this journey. I’m the one that’s been debriefing her, just like you have, and we both know how she reacts to being given things. She either doesn’t take it, or feels the need to give something back. Remember the bed incident?”
Clint remembers.
Natasha hadn’t slept in it until he flat out asked her why.
He wishes he hadn’t heard it.
How the girls of the red room had to earn their bed and then been chained to them. How’d she’d asked, standing tall across for him if Sheild was the same.
He’d wanted to be sick as he hold her no, nothing in the room required any sacrifice of self.
Clint stops in front of the books and groans.
“Can you talk to her about it?”
Maria picks up a best seller and puts it back.
“Me? Why can’t you?”
Clint shrugs, “I dunno, it just feels weird.”
Rolling her eyes, Maria agrees, she can read in between the lines, and knows the looks between them.
She throws the candle at Clint.
“Get this for Coulson,” she laughs.
.
Maria waits until she’s driving in the car with Natasha, the invitation accepted with encouragement from Clint and suspicious look.
Maria gets the feeling that Natasha only agreed because she wanted to say something too.
They’re ten miles into a drive before Natasha speaks.
“Clint is going to get me something for Christmas isn’t he?”
Maria hazards a look at her.
Natasha’s eyes look out the window.
“Does it worry you?”
They may as well cut to the crux of the matter.
“Yes.”
Maria wants to put her at ease, but likely it’s not the easiest thing to do.
“Would you prefer he didn’t?”
Natasha doesn’t answer straight away.
“Where I come from, presents and gifts don’t mean what they do here. To accept it, it means unlearning a lot.”
Maria is quiet.
She understands.
She doesn’t want to.
“Does Christmas have the same… trauma?”
Maria knows it’s the wrong word and probably too forward but she’s wondering if there’s a way that they can celebrate without triggering her. Without it being a day that Natasha would rather stay in her pyjamas and read a book.
The non answer is probably all she’s going to get.
“For the record, it doesn’t mean the same here, a gift is just a gift. Nothing needs to be reciprocated, you’re not in anyone’s debt.”
Maria turns into the car park.
“I’m always in his debt. These little things just cement it further.”
Maria opens her car door, then moves around to Natasha’s.
“Why are we here?”
Maria nods to the large shopping Centre.
“I’ve got some shopping to do, and you’re going to help me.”

avengers (and peter parker) on their wedding day, maybe seeing reader walk down the isle?
Tumblr media
Tony was very nervous at first, he kept glancing at the alley door, hoping you wouldn't get cold feet or run away..You had every right to.
He was a flirt, egotistical genius and you had had plenty other reasons to quit, give up..His foot was shaking and he was about to call the whole thing out when you appeared.
You were breath-taking.
Words got stuck in his throat and when you started walking, Tony felt that—out of all the Avengers—he was the luckiest.
"I do.."
He blurted out before the priest had even started the ceremonial speech. You smiled knowingly at him and Tony thanked his lucky star that he got to you first. He wasn't stupid, and knew you had had many proposals before him and he didn't think you would pick him, but you did..He wanted to do a little dance and shout very childishly.
"TAKE THAT, SUCKERS !"
But, he didn't want to sound like a complete asshole the day of your wedding, so he simply smiled back.
He almost forgot that he had a whole speech prepared for the occasion, a real teary-eyed emotional speech..But, when he opened his mouth to say them, the words that got out were completely different.
"Y/N L/N. I never thought you would become a Stark, even less to accept to go on a first date with me or become the one who brightens my life. But, for some reason ? I wouldn't have it any other way. And even though Stark used to be a name I wasn't proud of—that I despised even—I know that if you decide to wear it ? I would never be prouder of bearing any other name..You make me want—for the first time in my life—to embrace who I am and give my all so our future name may make you proud. I love you, Y/N.", he finished and you were thankful he did, because you would have had no time to shower him in praises in return.
"Tony Stark. Genius, billionaire, philanthropist..And, I hope, no more the playboy I used to know ?"
A couple of muffled chuckles and barely hidden snorts made themselves heard in the audience. However, you didn't mind them, as your eyes were still fixed on Tony who faked being offended, placing his hand flat on his chest with his eyes slightly agape in mocking indignation.
"I thought..How could someone so great ever be interested in me ? Out of every person in the high crowd..How could the incredible Tony Stark ever see me ? But—for some strange reason—you did. You took my hand and we danced. We danced, and it was on that first night that I knew. You were the one I would end up falling in love with, and even though there were a lot of stones and crevices along the way..Here we are."
Tony smiled knowingly at you. Your love had never been simple or straightforward, but it still led you to the altar. He didn't believe in destiny, but he had to admit it really seemed like it.
When it was finally the right time, he didn't hesitate before repeating the I do and you followed him suit.
Your love wasn't perfect, but it was worth it.
He then grabbed you and tilted you backwards to kiss you deeply, not caring about the room full of guests gasping and clapping energetically around you.
And to make it even better, Tony grabbed your hand and you both ran away, a car already waiting outside for you. When you were both in the car, he turned towards you and asked you with a small enigmatic smile.
"Where to, my lady/gentleman ?"
You thought about it for a moment before finally answering with a wide grin.
"How about..everywhere ?"
Tony seemed taken aback for a moment, but soon, his signature smile brightened his face and he kissed your knuckles before starting the car.
"EVERYWHERE ! HERE WE COME !", he declared loudly.
You missed the old man, standing next to the car, until your eyes briefly met and he smiled.
You were sure to have seen him somewhere before ? He waved and you waved back sheepishly. It was like you were saying goodbye to an old friend.
"Take good care of him..", he mouthed to you before Tony drove away.
Tumblr media
Clint was on the verge of tears. He had waited for that day for so long, he thought it would never come..
Natasha had to hold his hand while they were waiting. Clint knew he had to choose a best man, but he couldn't see anyone who deserved that title more than Natasha.
"Don't worry. They're coming. Hold the tears, you big softie."
Natasha admonished jokingly and he gasped a breath before nodding weakly.
"I'll try..", he replied with a little broken voice, his tone betraying his nervousness.
Natasha smiled sympathetically and patted his shoulder encouragingly.
At that moment, the doors opened and you appeared. In an instant, all of Clint's worries vanished. He just knew his heart seemed to be malfunctioning, as it couldn't stop beating faster than a running horse.
He felt cold sweat run down his spine and gulped loudly as you started walking towards him.
That was it.
The moment he had waited so long for and it took all of his will power not to laugh in relief. Finally. He would have everything he ever desired..You would be his wife/husband and the notion itself made him feel like everything he had to go through to find you was worth it.
He almost missed the priest's words and when it was his time to talk and tell you everything he felt for you ? He fell silent from a second or two in secret devotion before finally finding the right words.
"Y/N. I wanted to impress you. I even asked the others for advice on what I should say to you today..But, truth is ? There are no words strong enough to tell you how much I love you..You know me. I was always the quiet type, and even though, you found something in me. And, if you say yes today ? Know that you would make me the happiest man in the world."
He couldn't hold back his tears any longer, but you neither. You smiled happily at him and took a big breath before starting talking too.
"Clint. I knew from the beginning that winning you over would be a challenge. Tough guy who has terrible trust issues and a fortress around his heart that even I, had great difficulty piercing through. And God knows I've tried.."
It made him and the audience laugh, but if a marriage was to be successful, it had to be built on truth and trust. So, you had to be completely honest as to why you had fallen for that man that everything seemed to tell you not to at first..
"..But, I also saw a side of you that took me by surprise. A glimpse of who you truly are..You're the most caring and admirable man I have ever met and just for that, you gained my heart."
Clint blinked his tears away and when he held your hands and leaned forward to kiss you, it was beautiful and so true, it brought tears to Natasha's eyes as well.
When you took a step back and you smiled brightly at each other, you didn't even hear the loud cheers around you.
You threw the bouquet and it landed into an old man's hands. You didn't recognize him exactly, but you were sure to have seen him somewhere before..He smiled widely at you and shouted.
"SEE YOU AT MY WEDDING !"
You smiled and nodded in agreement.
"Send me an invitation !"
The old man smiled back and disappeared in the crowd afterwards. Your attention then went back to Clint who took your hand and led you to the exit, flowers raining on your path.
You knew you would be happy with him.

A marriage on Asgard was everything you suspected it would be..especially for a royal wedding.
There was the whole kingdom chanting your name and the aisle was so long, you had trouble seeing the end of it..However, when you finally arrived, Thor was waiting for you in his glistening and shinning armor. He looked like one of those princes in fairy tales and you couldn't believe you would soon be his wife/husband.
"You look beautiful.", was the first thing he said to you and you couldn't deny it when he was looking at you with so much love and affection.
It was happening.
You would become the king/queen of Asgard.
Odin linked your arms together with a white cloth and since you are from Midgard, he also asked for the both of you to exchange wedding rings.
When it was time for your respective matrimonial speech, you started.
"You. Thor Odinson. You are everything I never thought possible. You are literally a god. A warrior with inimaginable powers who—one day—knocked on my doorstep and asked for my help. I never could have imagined that my decision of helping a stranger would lead me to where I am today..But, I'm very glad it did..I'm glad it lead me to you. Thor."
Thor beamed at you and for a moment, you could have sworn a tear escaped his eye, but he quickly wiped it away with his thumb before speaking too.
"You. Y/N of Midgard. Are and will always remain the only being in the universe I will ever willingly kneel to. I will offer you my undying loyalty to. And yet, I think it is not enough. Because, you deserve so much more than what a king, or a god can offer you. You deserve happiness, and I will enjoy spending my entire life making sure you will get it. OR MY NAME ISN'T THOR ODINSON !"
You cried a little and knew that Thor wasn't a liar and knowing you had such power over him filled you with pride. Your love for him was overflowing and your heart was beating alongside his like a silent imperceptible song only the two of you could hear.
When Odin asked you, you both said yes in unison, not leaving each other's eyes. You missed the way an old man was looking at the both of you with tenderness..As if he actually knew you.
"You can kiss the..."
Thor didn't wait, he leaned forward and pulled you flushed against him before kissing you breathless. The whole kingdom applauded and you wrapped your arms around his shoulder, everything disappearing around you.
But, a familiar voice succeeded in piercing through the crowd's clamoring to you.
"Have a great life you two."
You opened your eyes and looked around, but the old man was already gone and all that was left was the arms of your beloved around you. Thor tilted his head to look in the direction you were facing with a small worried frown.
"Is something the matter, Y/N ?"
You smiled reassuringly at him and shook your head.
"Nothing important..Let us go."
He smiled widely, as if he was waiting for you to say that before carrying you in his arms to the exit.
He was very excited about spending the night with you and show you everything Asgard had to offer. Your new home.

Bucky was surprisingly calm.
He knew you would come. He was standing straight next to Sam.
With Steve being gone, Sam was the best option and he remained stoic beside him with a small knowing smile on his lips.
He leaned forward to whisper.
"Don't worry, Bucky. After today, you'll no longer have a reason to keep that frown on your face."
Bucky huffed a laugh and as Sam had predicted, the moment his eyes fell on you, he smiled.
You were beautiful..He forgot where you were for a moment and took a step forward, eager to tell you how incredible you looked, but Sam stopped him by resting his hand on his shoulder.
"Calm down, tiger. Let them come to you."
Bucky stopped dead in his tracks and moved his leg up and down impatiently, a smile not leaving his face as he waited for you to walk the stairs of the altar. Once you were finally there, you looked at each other and Bucky instinctively reached for your hands.
The priest arrived and when it was time for the both of you to vocally express your love, you found yourself speechless. What could you say that might express the way you felt about him ? Thankfully, Bucky spoke first.
"Y/N..You are beautiful and smart and incredibly clever. I didn't expect you to be there by my side when times were rough for me, but you were..You are more than what I am worth and just by standing here today, you might as well consider me impressed and in love with you more than ever."
You smiled and nodded understandingly, knowing how every word from Bucky came from the heart. You blinked a few times to wipe the tears away and then replied.
"Bucky Barnes. You have suffered greatly in the past, but I sincerely hope you will find the happiness and peace you seek for with me..In that future we will build together."
It wasn't long, but it was the truth. Bucky could feel it as he smiled tenderly at you and reached for your hand once more. He was sure to find more than he ever bargained for with you and you both tried not to laugh as Sam almost tumbled forward in his eagerness to bring you the rings.
Once the rings exchanged and you both said yes to each other, Bucky kissed you passionately and you smiled into the kiss. You were finally married. When you pulled away, Bucky eyed the door significantly and you smiled again before nodding on agreement. It was time to go..Bucky grabbed your hand and you started running towards the exit.
Once out, Bucky was surprised to find a brand new moto at the gates of the church and was even more shocked when you unhesitatingly jumped on it.
You must have noticed his confusion as you turned towards him and shrugged.
"Happy wedding anniversary in advance ?", you threw the keys at him and Bucky's smile widened as he understood, this new beauty was all his.
"Did I already tell you how much I love you ?", he asked, running his hands on the shiny plastic with admiration.
"Once or twice.", you replied with a small teasing smile, happy that your gift was appreciated.
You glanced back at the church and found a man on the stairs, staring right at you. He smiled kindly when your eyes met and for some reason ? You knew he was someone important.
You smiled back before Bucky climbed on the seat his brand new motorcycle and you wrapped your arms around his waist.
"Am I still your favorite ?", you teased as Bucky was obviously still admiring the moto, but he immediately broke eye contact with her to look at you.
"Have no doubt about that. I'm the one riding her. You ? I would let you ride me."
Your smile dropped for a moment as you registered what he just said, but Bucky didn't let you reply before starting the engine.
You would have all the time to figure it out on your honeymoon. *wink wink*
The priest was the first one out after you and you locked eyes for a moment. He smiled and winked at you before shouting.
"Enjoy the ride !"

Scott took a big breath before breathing out loudly, skipping from one foot to the other nervously..He had already been a groom once, it didn't end well..He sincerely hoped this time around would be different. He had Cassie by his side with her little basket full of pink rose petals and he wanted to show her that her dad wasn't a complete failure.
But, he was scared.
He closed his eyes and breathed deeply through his nose to calm himself down, but it was difficult.
What was he doing ?! Why go through the same process when he already knew marriage had never worked out with him ?
However, when the door slammed open and you appeared, as gorgeous as the day you met..He knew why he was here. He knew why he was risking it. He was risking it for you. Because you were worth it. Because you were different.
His heart filled with love and his eyes with tenderness as he saw you walk the aisle. It was like an angel had suddenly come along to brighten his day and make his insecurities wash away..You were here. It was all that mattered.
He took a step forward and extended his hand towards you that you took with a big smile..Gosh. He would die for that smile.
When it was time for the marital vows, Scott had planned the whole thing, had written it down even. But, as his eyes locked with yours, he realized it didn't matter. Whatever he could possibly say, you already knew.
So, he decided to speak from the heart and improvise, something he never really was good at..according to a lot of people.
"Y/N. You're the man/woman of my life. From the moment we met, I never doubted a second that we would eventually be together. However, I won't lie. I was scared. Still am, actually. I wasn't a good husband, not even a good man either to be honest..I want to believe that I can be with you, but it's hard. I'm excited, hopeful and it's fantastic, but also terrifying. I've never felt like this before, not since Cassie was born. I'm so in love with you. I can't wait to kiss you, have children with you, have a life with you, change diapers with you and..", he chuckled awkwardly at the sudden silence in the church/room after that last part and massaged the back of his neck nervously,"..I ruined the moment, didn't I ?"
You laughed. You laughed, and Scott's eyes widened as tears formed at the corner of your eyes and he feared you were laughing at him, but he quickly discarded the idea.
"Scott..You fool ! You're the best man I have ever met ! You are an amazing father, a goddamn superhero and I can't believe you can't see it yet ! I'm so in love with you, I want all the things you want and more ! I don't care about your past. I love you, Scott. You."
Scott couldn't hold it any longer and pulled you in his arms, not even sparing a glance at the crowd around you. You laughed and kissed each other before the priest had even finished the request and shouted in unison when it was time to say yes, eager to be alone together.
You then ran and you took Cassie in your arms, the three of you entering Scott's car in a hurry, ignoring her mother's protests.
At the last minute, you could have sworn seeing an old man waving at you, but it was only a flick of the moment and you shook your head.
You were going home and Cassie beamed up at you.
"I KNEW YOU WOULD BE MY NEW MOMMY/DADDY !"
You laughed at that and when Scott kissed your knuckles, you knew your future would be amazing.

Stephen was surprised. He wasn't surprised that he was getting married. That. He knew.
He was surprised to find you already waiting for him at the end of the aisle..34 hours before the wedding. You weren't wearing a dress/suit, but you were still there, as if waiting for him..as if you knew he would be there.
He floated down next to you and you stood still, not even glancing at him. You knew he had something to ask you..
Stephen looked up at the ceiling.
Maybe would he find the words up there ?
There was something bothering him..
It wasn't him who had asked you. He thought he would be the one to put a knee on the ground and get out the ring, but you beat him to it..And the only answer you had given him when he had asked you about this sudden decision, was an enigmatic smile and a cheeky wink.
It was gnawing at him. However, your voice cut him out of his thoughts as you turned towards him.
"I wanted to see you..Just, to make sure you're okay."
His eyes widened. It was his wedding, why wouldn't he be okay ?! He was ecstatic, he couldn't wait to be eternally linked through marital contract with you..He had waited too long when love had knocked at his door the first time, he wouldn't make the same mistake twice. So, he lied. He smiled and shook his head.
"I'm okay.."
The look you gave him showed that you weren't fooled, but you didn't persist. He would tell you eventually..
There was still this worry persisting in the back of his head, and even though he wanted to tell you, he couldn't.
So, when it was the time for marital vows on your wedding day, only one question went past his lips.
"Y/N..Why did you propose ?"
Your brow furrowed and you looked up at him with confusion in your eyes and he understood he would have to be clearer.
"Why did you propose first ? You knew I would have eventually done it..Right ?"
Your reaction wasn't the one he expected as your straight out busted into laughter..He knew he should be upset, but the sound was so beautiful, he couldn't help but laugh as well.
"Right. Stupid question.", he quickly added, but you shook your head and held his hands in yours. You smiled absent-mindedly at his calloused fingertips and wondered how many people he had saved with those hands ?
"Stephen Strange..If I had waited for you to propose to me, I would have died a bachelor/an old maiden."
He was shocked at first, but let out a soft chuckle at the realization..You were right. Stephen had a problem when it came to taking decisions, especially concerning the matters of the heart. He should have known.
Well..He had his answer now.
The priest smiled as he saw Stephen's contempt expression, which was known to be a rare sight.
"Stephen Stradt..", he started, but was interrupted by Stephen.
"It's Strange."
The priest frowned a little at the correction before continuing.
"Right, Strand. Will you take Y/N to be your wife/husband ?"
Stephen stopped himself from rolling his eyes and decided to ignore the priest and looked back at you. You were radiant and Stephen felt his chest fill with pride at the thought that finally, he had found his happiness. He would no longer be alone.
"Yes.", it came a little too quick and by the way your smile slightly widened, you knew too.
You followed suit and when he leaned forward to kiss you, you let him linger there a few seconds longer than necessary, certain that that kiss would stay in both of your memories until the end of your lives.
You then pulled away and Stephen turned towards the crowd, trying to remain composed, but failing as his cape started wiping his tears away.
"Quit it.", he ordered and the cape indulged, but seeing Stephen's red face was enough for you to let out a small laugh. He sent you a death glare, but it softened as he realized you were now his wife/husband..that he would get to hear your laugh again and again. It made him smile again.
A few days later, the marriage papers would arrive and you would both be surprised to find the correct last name on the document.
"I knew it ! That old priest was mocking me !", Stephen exclaimed in disbelief and you laughed.
However, you then found another small note written by the priest to your attention.
Take good care of that old grunt for me. I wish you both a good fulfilling life.
You smiled at the note and the faint memory of the priest's face came back to you..Somehow, you were certain to have seen him somewhere before ?
Stephen noticed your thoughtful expression and squeezed your hand.
"Is something the matter ?"
You looked back at him and smiled reassuringly before shaking your head.
"Nothing. Just an odd feeling of melancholy..It'll pass."
Stephen didn't further on the subject, but he did extend his hand forward to lead you outside.
"How about a walk outside to clear our minds, Y/N Strange ?"
You smiled at the name and nodded in agreement.
"There is nothing I would like more, Stephen Strange."

Peter was late.
It was to be expected. It wasn't easy to be a superhero.
However, what you didn't expect was Spiderman to crash your wedding and land in front of you. You knew that Peter was Spiderman, but many of the guests didn't. Or, so you thought ? There weren't that many guests, and since your few family members that could come had been delayed by traffic, you couldn't be sure.
"What are you doing ?", you whispered to him and he shrugged before replying.
"There was too much traffic. I didn't want to be too late to my own wedding.."
You rolled your eyes and hid your amused smile before turning towards the priest and gestured him to continue the ceremony. The priest, after a few seconds of staring at the unexpected groom, indulged. When the part of the vows arrived, you wondered if you should spare his whole secret identity thing by addressing him as Spiderman ? But, he spared you the trouble as he started.
"Y/N. We went to class together. We fought crime together. And now, we're getting married..Wow. If I didn't know any better, I would say you have a crush on me ?"
It made you laugh. Typical Peter..Always had to get the last laugh. But, not this time.
His eyes widened when you started undressing in front of everybody and Peter then noticed your hero suit underneath.
"What are you doing ?!", he exclaimed, mourning the dress as it fell to the floor.
"There is no way you're getting married in your hero suit and I don't ! Now, help me get out of that dress/suit !"
"Yes, ma'am/sir."
Peter eagerly agreed with a small amused laugh and then helped you undress while the guests looked at each other, wondering if it was all part of the wedding plan. But, when you were both in your hero suits and Peter held your hand, it felt like there was only the two of you.
It felt right.
And when your eyes met ? There was this warm sensation that spread across your body and when it was time for the kiss, you pulled him in. Peter didn't complain.
He thought he would never get to ask you to marry him, as many heroes die young. He knew this the moment he became Spiderman..He thought he would never get to see you in a wedding dress/suit. But, here you were.
You were married. It was done. Peter's eyes watered and he quickly wiped them away. He wasn't going to cry at his own wedding.
But, you seemed to read his mind as your own eyes brimmed with tears of joy.
You kissed him again and Peter swore he could have died of happiness right there.
He then remembered where you were and pulled away, his hand still in yours as he turned towards the crowd. There was aunt May, clapping next to Happy who was trying his best to remain stoic, but failing spectacularly as he burst into tears. Aunt May gave him a handkerchief that he accepted gratefully.
Peter smiled affectionately at them, but then his eyes caught another pair of eyes on him. An old man was sitting at the far end of the room/church and was clapping too. He had a pair of sunglasses on and even though Peter had never seen him before, he was familiar to him somehow..It was an odd feeling, a mix of melancholy and relief. It was as if his uncle Ben was still there, still watching over him.
You also noticed the old man who left the church with his fist raised to the sky.
"Good job, kid.."

"Who put the marinara sauce next to the tortilla chips ?!", was the first thing you heard when you entered the room where there was suppose to occur you wedding after-party. There was no doubt it was your wife who had just exclaimed her disapproval and was now rearranging the whole design of the room to her taste.
You pretended to be as obfuscated as her by the room arrangement, even though you were the one who had placed the marinara sauce next to the tortilla chips.
"What ?! Where is the police ?! The National Guard ?! The army ?! A crime has been committed !", you joked and she sent you a glare that immediately made you raise your hands up in surrender.
"I'm innocent, officer. I swear."
She rolled her eyes, but a small smile betrayed her amusement as she huffed before exchanging the marinara sauce for some guacamole..Figures.
"It is no laughing matter ! I want everything to be perfect."
You repressed an eye roll before wrapping your arms around her waist and resting your chin on her shoulder, while she was working her magic to make everything "perfect." Then, a dark thought crossed your mind.
"Say..Did you ever try to make me 'perfect' too ? Just wondering..", you wanted to sound nonchalant, but Wanda was not fooled. She suddenly stopped her actions to focus on you and saw the sudden hesitancy in your eyes.
She framed your face with her hands and slowly tilted your head so you would look her in the eyes. She then gave you the brightest and most genuine smile she could muster before kissing your forehead.
"You already are.", she finally answered and you felt your heart skip a beat at her confession. You smiled back at her and kissed her sweetly.
"I love you..", you whispered against her lips and she laughed, a light and beautiful laugh so pure it sounded like your wedding bells were already ringing.
"I sure hope so..", she replied with a small amused smile and you held her close.
Who could have predicted a little red witch would have stolen your heart ?
An old man then entered and coughed to get your attention.
"I'm sorry to interrupt..But, if you youngsters would like to follow me, I would like to show you the cake. It has arrived earlier than expected."
Before you could answer, Wanda gave the old man a wide grin and clapped excitedly.
"OF COURSE ! Lead the way..", she then grabbed your arm and dragged you forward, eager to see the cake with you (and maybe even get a taste.)
You walked past the old man and mouthed him in exaggerated helplessness.
"Help."
But the old man raised his hands, clearly signifying that his hands were tied and watched you both walk away with a small smile on his face.
"...I hope you will finally be happy, Wanda."

"Once the war is over, I'll marry you. I promise, Y/N."
Steve had promised to you before going to war all those years ago, and you had waited..You had waited..But, he never came back.
When Steve was found under the ice, his first thought after being brought back to life was to find you. But, what he found wasn't what he wanted..He learned that after long years of waiting, your heart had stopped one morning. He walked into the cemetery and his eyes prickled with tears as he saw your name carved in the stone. You were supposed to grow old together..
And now, you were six feet under the ground and Steve could only wish he wouldn't have waited..He played with the ring in his fingers and bent his head forward to hide his tears from view..It was not supposed to end this way.
He loved you..He still loved you..It wasn't fair.
He tightened his fist around the ring and wondered if he should just get rid of it ? Would it bring him some kind of closure ? Would he finally find peace ?
He then buried one knee in the ground in front of your grave and asked the question he had been so nervous to ask in the past, one that he had no trouble with now..Now that it was too late.
"Y/N L/N..Would you marry me ?"
The pang in his chest tightened at the deadly silence. He would never get his answer it seemed.
He burst into tears, his teardrops falling onto the ground, watering the dry earth beneath him and making it all the more real.
What had he ever done to deserve this ?
"I'm sorry..I'm so sorry I was too late, Y/N. I..You don't know how much I would have wanted to be there. I would give everything to get back to you..I love you. I love you so much. It hurts."
Captain Rogers who was normally so composed, could only crumble in the dirt for your forgiveness. He had seen all of his old camarades marry and die on the battlefield..Now, he didn't know if he pitied or envied them.
He would keep fighting. But, what was the point now ? You were gone.
He left the ring on your tombstone and walked away..only to walk back to retrieve it.
He couldn't give up. He wouldn't..Never.
A few years later :
When Steve stayed in the past, he only had one thing in his mind: you.
He ran so fast, faster than ever before and climbed the stairs by four, racing through your front yard to knock at your door. He was breathless and knocked a second time more urgently, hoping that you would be the one opening the door.
Finally, footsteps were heard and the door opened ajar.
You appeared. The door wasn't completely open that he was already embracing you.
"Y/N..", he uttered your name with such relief, it brought tears to your eyes.
You returned his embrace and buried your face in his neck.
"I missed you..so much.", you cried out and Steve tightened his hold on you, thinking of the irony in your words bitterly.
"I missed you too..And I don't want to wait any longer."
You pulled away confused, until Steve fell on one knee in front of you and got out the ring he had bought all those years ago.
"Y/N L/N. Would you..?"
He didn't get to finish the question.
"YES ! YES YES YES. ! ONE MILLION YES !", you interrupted him and jumped into his arms, making you both fall backwards.
When the ring was slipped on your finger, you looked at it with such a bright smile, Steve could only adore you more for it.
You were both in such bliss that you failed to notice the man standing on the other side of the road, gazing upon the both of you with almost paternal tenderness.
"Finally..You are all happy now."

Yo! are you ever going to continue the Kate werewolf fic?
[A/n: Yo! It has been a while, I started a new job and I'm currently traveling a lot before I move next month. But I had some time to finish a draft!]
Summary: Reader discovers that there are werewolves in this world after a particularly strange encounter with Kate Bishop.

There was a reflection that stared back at you that was vaguely reminiscent of what you had been before the attack. The counter dug into your palms, the mirror fogging with each, long breath that you took. The sink was nearly filled with water now, so you flicked it off.
Just one more minute, and you’d walk back out there with your shoulders pulled back and a tense smile on your face- because you were calm, collected, and entirely okay with the whole werewolf thing. It prickled under your skin, the knowledge of it. The bite throbbed against your side.
One more breath, one more minute.
There was a soft knock at the door that startled you from your thoughts. You were sweating, and it was awkward to swallow the dryness on your tongue. When you opened the door, Kate was on the other side. She had discarded the sweatshirt, stood uncomfortably with her hands in her jean pockets and a shy smile on her face.
“Hi,” She cupped the back of her neck “have a second to talk?”
“Uh-huh”
You’d taken the first break from conversation to excuse yourself to the bathroom for the specific reason that you felt a panic attack coming on. Your mind barely had time to grasp the fact that you should be dead, but the girl who had plunged you into this situation in the first place had lured you to a creepy murder compound.
It had been forty-five minutes of tense conversation and you were still breathing. Of course, you’d also done nothing but lose the moisture in your mouth and nod along as Clint and Natasha explained the logistics.
You peered down the long hallway, lined with different black and white photos of places around the world. Places that you would never see. You were resigned to the fact that Paris was out of reach, and South Africa would rot away at the bottom of your bucket-list. How bad would it be if you turned into a werewolf on a plane instead of in an Olive Garden?
Kate seemed to sense your spiral, just like she seemed to sense a lot of things. Her tough was gentle, fingers brushing against your own. She led you down that long hallway and to a room that was saturated in her scent.
Posters were against the walls; a muddled bedspread was bunched as if someone had fitfully slept on it. There was a desk with a laptop layered in different stickers. There were books that were sloppily piled on a shelf, and once space had worn away on the wooden structure, they were stacked on the floor.
Kate closed the door, leaned against it and closed her eyes. There were towels on the back of the door. Her scent was overwhelming in here, an instant comfort that eased the prickling of your skin. It was so clearly hers, so comfortable. Light flitted through the blinds, an oscillating fan was draped with a t-shirt, hardly stirring the air.
“I’m really sorry about them.” She rushed out, finally opening her eyes.
You turned and stared at her with a cocked eyebrow. She carried the same type of embarrassment that you harbored during family holidays. There was always that one cousin, always that uncle who was overcompensating and that mother who had a cold, unforgiving gaze because she’d been in the kitchen for too long.
“I was going to ease you into it, really. But you never really know what the vibe is going to be until you’re… here.”
“It’s alright.”
“It is?” She pushed off the door. She was taller than you, and the furrow of her brow was nothing but genuine. “I know it doesn’t seem like it, but Natasha and Clint, they’re just trying to help. But they’ve been like this for a long time now. I think sometimes they forget how overwhelming it can be.”
“Uh-huh,”
You repeated yourself, suddenly overcome with exhaustion. You flopped down onto the corner of Kate’s bed, breathing in that hint of lavender and musk that she carried. Your legs were suddenly giving out. Kate was careful with her movements, tentatively sitting on the same side of the bed as you.
Her pinky was close to yours; you could feel the heat and it was overwhelming. But she didn’t’ dare touch you. The seats on the bus had pinned you closer together, but somehow, this was more intimate.
You hadn’t exactly leaned into your college experience, and maybe that had something to do with it. You’d never been in a girls room, much less someone who had dug their canine teeth deep into the flesh of your shoulder.
“I just…” You paused, trying to think of your words very carefully. “I did everything right. I had a plan. I was the first one to graduate from high school- granted, my mother got her GED, but that’s not the point. The point is- I graduated and got into college and did everything right.”
Kate clenched and unclenched her jaw. She wouldn’t look you in the eye, and you had every single right to be angry with her. But there was something deep down that ebbed through the white-hot anger and the bubbling confusion. Something that was akin to fondness. To danger.
“I screwed all of that up.”
“Yeah,” You sighed, “You did.”
There was a hurt in Kate’s eye that stung, just knowing that you caused a fraction of it. But, on the other hand, there was a quiet resolution to it as well. It had just been a flicker before it moved to understanding. Kate’s palm was like fire. She set it on your knee.
“You have every right to hate me. I hate me, y/n. I wouldn’t wish my fate on anyone, and then I had a moment of relapse and I forced it on you.” She moved her thumb, you noticed every electrifying moment. “There is nothing I can do that will ever make up for that night. If you walk out that door and never speak to me again, that’s understandable.”
You laughed, the sound watery, and choked “I don’t think Natasha would allow that.”
There was a sparkle in her eye that quickly faded, the corners of her lips turning up into the slightest bit of a smile. She frowned to cover her amusement, and you found yourself wanting to reach up and rub that little crease from between brows.
“Right. Yeah,” There was a breathy noise, “What now?”
Your question had lingered on the way home, Kate’s worried glances as she maneuvered a truck that was older than you, kept your nerves in check. This was better than the bus, you decided, even if there was no air conditioning, there was a small crack in each window that allowed the icy air to fill your lungs.
Part of you had been content to borrow Kate’s clothes and simply vanish. It would be easier that way, you figured, not having to rush out a pain-staking goodbye to America and MJ. Though, it wasn’t a goodbye, it was just a ‘see you later’ when they had lives and partners and careers.
“They’ll be resistant.” You had said as the trees began to thin out with architectural bliss. “You know that, right?”
Kate puffed out her chest comedically, “I can take them.”
“MJ, yes. America? I thought she juiced for the first two years of our friendship, and we were six.”
Kate smiled then, and nervously ran her fingers over the length of the ribbed steering wheel. You could hear her heart, and it was thundering over the inner workings of the truck, struggling against the cold weather. You counted the beats. “Tell me about her.”
“Hmm?”
“Your friend, America? It seems like she cares a lot about you. And friends since you were six? That’s a long time. A lot of memories.”
You couldn’t help the nervous smile that spread across your face. Going away to college had just been the latest chapter in a long book that you held near and dear. There was a sadness in the cab of the truck, a realization that you’d have to part, and brutally at that.
“There was this kid, Bobby Daringer, he was an absolute dick. He’d pick on anyone he could make eye-contact with and I’m pretty sure he’s a career criminal now. Anyway, one of my earliest memories was him shoving me on the playground. The taste of mulch. But, I also remember America grabbing him by the collar of his shirt and throwing him a good three feet.”
Kate was smiling, a genuine look that made your stomach twirl. The feeling lingered as a comfortable quiet filled the car. Soon, it morphed into damp palms and a pounding heart. Kate wasn’t Bobby Daringer, but she would have the same painted target, the same quiet seething that America wielded like a sword.
Kate had silenced herself, listening to the tires against the asphalt of highway. It had started to drizzle by the time she rolled into the parking lot of the off-campus apartments. You took a heavy, nervous breath. A hand was in yours, for only a moment, but the warmth was overwhelming, a blanket over your anxieties.
At least, it did, until you clocked both America’s and MJ’s car in the lot. Even more so, you could hear their muted conversations silence the second your key turned in the lock. Your hand was flat against the door, and Kate’s was on the small of your back, steadying you.
This stranger had such a pull on your heart, and part of you resented her for it. She was pulling you from your life, you were going to walk in there and pack a bag and vanish in thin air. There was still a dull ache where her teeth had broken skin, still a dull anger that you were hoping dissipated as you learned, not only to embrace what you had become, but to embrace Kate too.
Something attracted her to you that night, and it was a pull that you admittedly felt. Even as she ran through the woods, pinned you to the forest floor. There was an alluring magnetism to the animal that bit you, and the girl that stood steady by you now. You hated her, you did. But it was ebbing away into something else.
“Stay behind me,” You mumbled, cracking the door “And don’t say a word.”
Kate mimed zipping her lips but smiled dorkily at you regardless. When you pushed your way into the apartment, the scent was overwhelming, but one of comfort and design. You picked up on the candle that MJ lit, vanilla and a hint of cinnamon. There was the dinner they had just finished, pot roast that made your mouth water.
When you pushed your way into the apartment, you were relieved to find it mostly empty, and you led Kate through the small furnishings and the unlit hallway. You pressed your back against the door for only a moment before grabbing the duffel bag that you took to church camp in middle school.
It still smelled like nature, just the smallest hint clung to the fabric. You started shoving anything you could into it, quick with your movements. Kate surveyed your walls, empty and still plain brick. You didn’t feel the need to decorate, as it had never felt like home, not really.
Kate picked up the book on your nightstand, a worn copy of ‘EMMA’. You’d usually read until your eyesight was blurry and the words turned to mush. But, you knew the story by heart. Once you had filled the bag with clothes, you slugged it over your shoulder and watched her expectantly.
“You don’t want to forget this,” she folded the book close to her chest. “It’s a classic.”
“Yeah, it is.”
It was all you could think to say when you opened your bedroom door and held it open for Kate to pass through. There was a key weighing down your pocket. Kate seemed to read your mind, she slid the bag from your shoulder and onto her own effortlessly. You fished the keyring from your pocket and pushed it off until it was a lone, solitary entity.
Carefully, you moved to set it down on the coffee table, running your fingers over the cool brass.
“Y/n?” MJ’s voice was quiet, “What are you doing?”
You shot up fast enough to make you dizzy, your eyes shooting towards the looming hallway. America stood with her arms across her chest, her face hard, her eyes a fire-filled shade of green. You could hear her teeth grinding, could feel her anger just as you could feel MJ’s apprehension.
She held a bowl of half-finished mac and cheese, her fork coated in gold. MJ chewed quietly, but set the food on the counter with a movement that was slow enough to keep the sound barrier in-tact.
You could handle America’s rage. It was an immoveable object that buffered your interactions in times like these. It was almost better. If she was angry, then it would give her a reason to hate you, to keep you at a distance. It was the concern in MJ’s voice that threw you for a loop.
Your words were broken “I… I’m going to stay at Kate’s for a little while.”
“Then why are you leaving your keys?” America asked. “Do you ever plan on coming back?”
“Eventually”
Kate winced at the word and let out a small breath. That was the wrong thing to say. There was a sharp scent in the room that you could only register as rage. America uncrossed her arms and took three even steps, closing the distance between you.
“Let me get this straight, you waltz in here a few days ago, absolutely soaked in mud and… and blood, then vanish from the party that we were looking forward to for weeks. And then you sneak out of here this morning only to come back with her? Es como si ya no te conociera!”
There was a pressure behind your eyes. You looked down at the carpet to avoid the tears from flowing over. You weren’t going to cry, not about this. Because this was too much. All of it was boiling to the surface. You swallowed the growing metallic taste in your mouth.
America’s voice lowered, shattered “You worked so hard to be here. I can’t watch and let you throw it away for some girl who I’m assuming is the cause of all of this erratic behavior.”
“She’s not,” You glanced at her, “You’re not.”
“What is it, then? Y/n, you have a full ride! And… and us. MJ and I are here for you. Whatever this is, we can work through it, but we can’t do it if you’re not here.”
A tear escaped, and you used the back of your hand to flush it away. The deep sourness of the anger had turned into something like dying flowers, something of profane sadness. You held the key between you both, not saying a word, because this seemed to be enough of a gesture to say everything that was on the tip of your tongue.

Rules
(oneshot takes place between chapters 6 and 7 in Malen'kiy Yastreb)
A few days after Kate moved in, Natasha began to notice somethings that were different in the way that Kate acted.
It was no secret that the teen was very respectful and well behaved. She was possibly the most polite teenager Natasha has ever met.
But it was almost to a fault.
There were a lot of things Kate would hesitate to do or remember to ask express permission for before she even thought about doing them. Things that, at least in Natasha's mind, didn't need such permission.
For example, Kate would always ask if she could take a shower or before using literally anything in the apartment.
And there were some other things that were lacking in her day to day life.
After her visit with Dr. Cho, Natasha wasn't shocked to find out that Kate was slightly malnourished and was underweight. The teen seemed to always feel guilty when asking for food outside of meal times, or had forgotten to eat meals entirely.
And don't even get Natasha started on the young archer's sleep schedule. It is a wonder that the kid is able to function at all.
Natasha was at a loss on how to help the poor kid.
No one should be living like this, let alone a young teen.
So, Natasha calls Laura for ideas. While talking, Laura brings up something that her and Clint used for Natasha when she was staying with them right after she defected from the Red Room and was still adjusting to regular life.
A rule list.
It wasn't your traditional rule list. It was more of a guideline of things that were okay to do, or things that were needed to do everyday to keep healthy.
It would be perfect for Kate.
Natasha thanks Laura, and heads to go to talk to Kate.
She walks into the living room, finding Kate on the couch petting a snuggly Lucky.
"Hey malen'kiy yastreb!"
"Hi Tasha!"
"I had an idea," Natasha starts right off the bat, knowing if she didn't Kate might get even more nervous, "I have noticed some things since you have moved in with me."
She watches Kate tense slightly.
"Its nothing bad," Natasha reassures, "I have just noticed that you have been, for a lack of a better term, overlooking some things in your day-to-day life. And hey, everyone does it."
"I'm sorry," Kate looks down at her hands.
"There is no need to apologize; it's okay dorogoy," Natasha gently lifts Kate's chin with one of her hands, "It is one of the things I struggled with when adjusting to living with Clint and Laura a while ago, too."
"Really?"
"Mhm," Natasha hums, "And Laura had a great idea to make a list of 'rules'. They aren't really 'rules' in the traditional sense, but they were things that really helped me. And I think it will really help you too."
Kate smiles softly at Natasha's thoughtfulness.
"What do you think, malen'kiy yastreb?" Natasha asks her gently and comforting, "Should we make one for you?"
Kate takes a minute to think before softly agreeing, "Yeah. Okay!"
Natasha pulls Kate into a hug and Kate melts into her embrace. Natasha smiles.
After all is said and done, the rule list is hung on the refrigerator with a magnetic. The list consists of 7 rules:
There is no need to ask when wanting to use the shower, kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, TV, etc. as long as no one else is using them
Swearing IS allowed (AT HOME)
Two full meals need to be eaten a day (unless sick)
All the food/snacks in the kitchen can be used/enjoyed by anyone at anytime
Bedtime is 12:30 at the latest
If leaving the Compound, Natasha must be informed as to where, when, how long, and with who.
Kate is NEVER bothering Natasha and can ask/talk with her whenever she needs/wants
The list evolves throughout the years. Things are added such as Wanda being added into rule number 6 and 7, and a rule stating that Kate must tell either Natasha or Wanda if she is sick or injured is added after Kate's unfortunate bout of the flu. But in times of struggle, the list is always there to help Kate get back on track.

For the second time that day, you swung your door open, expecting to find your pizza, but not expecting Natasha and Wanda.
"This is a surprise," you said, gesturing them in. "I thought you were my pizza."
"We're sorry to disappoint," Nat teased, smirking slightly as she dropped onto your couch. There was something different about her, the way she was looking at you. You weren't sure what it was.
Wanda sat in your chair, curling her legs under her.
"I'm not disappointed," you corrected her softly, dropping down next to her. "I'm glad you all came by. I shouldn't have left the way I did, and I'm sorry."
Wanda finally met your eye. "I thought we were friends."
"Of course we are," you whispered. "Why do you think I decided not to come back?"
Wanda shrugged.
"I think having to stick to a professional relationship that was based off of a contract would hurt us both in the long run."
You found Nat's gaze. "What?"
"Nothing," Nat shook her head. "I just wish I realized how lucky we were to have you around, right from the start."
You could feel the heat in your cheeks at her kind words, and the pizza guy saved you from having to think of how to respond.
Except it wasn't the pizza guy; it was all of the rest of the Avengers.
You couldn't help but laugh. "What are all of you doing here so late?"
They look like giants in your small hallway, and you ushered them in before your neighbors saw.
Sam handed you your pizza. "I think we scared off your delivery guy."
"So this is where you guys snuck off to," Steve said to Wanda and Nat.
There wasn't a lot of space for all of them. Nat scooted closer to you so Clint could sit on the couch. Tony, Bucky, Sam and Steve sat on your floor.
"We all miss you," Steve said sincerely. "The compound isn't the same without you."
"It's only been a few hours," you tried to hide your smile.
"We wanted to make sure you were okay," Tony said. His words were still sincere and soft. The way they were looking at you made your heart thud gently.
"I appreciate that," you said. "I was just thinking of how quiet my apartment was, and then Nat and Wanda showed."
You glanced at the small box of pizza, and then at the large group. "Should I order more pizza?"
"We already ate," Sam said.
"Alright. I should have popcorn and candy in the cabinet above the dishwasher."
Tony flipped on your TV. You imagined they each had many things to do, and you treasured the fact that they took the time to spend with you.
Bucky stood. He went right to the cabinet, coming back with an arm full of candy and other snacks.
"Someone has a sweet tooth," he said pointedly, namely at you. He dropped the pile onto the coffee table. You noted the candy he picked for himself. You were going to add it to your notebook. You had yet to write anything down for Bucky.
You retrieved all of your blankets and pillows, handing them out to everyone. You had a lot - you loved blankets. They all agreed on a movie, and in no time, you found yourself dozing off, feeling completely safe and secure in their presence.
-----
It was morning when you woke up. You were in your bed. Someone must've put you there. You assumed that they would have left, but surprisingly they were all fast asleep, mostly on your floor. Someone had pushed your coffee table out of the way, and the guys were all piled together on the floor. Nat had the couch, and Wanda was still in the chair. It was kind of adorable.
You wanted to do something special for them, but you pretty much had no groceries. You had to be quick. You knew a few of them were early risers. There was a corner store not even a block from your apartment. You could just go and grab stuff for breakfast.
After you got dressed, you were surprised to find Bucky awake. He was standing in the kitchen, like he was waiting for you. You gestured for him to follow you. You shut and locked your door as quietly as possible.
"Where are we going?" he asked.
"To get stuff for breakfast," you said. "What's your favorite breakfast food, Buck?" You quickly corrected yourself. "Bucky. I'm sorry."
"It's okay. My friends call me Buck." His lips quirked up, and yours did too. "I mean, I like pancakes."
"Exactly what I was thinking," you said. "What kind of pancakes?"
Bucky shrugged, pulling the door open for you.
You grabbed all of the necessary breakfast items. You knew they ate a lot of food judging from your time at the compound.
Surprisingly, not one person had moved since you left.
"You get to help since you're awake," you told Bucky, handing him two packages of bacon. He didn't protest, and you worked side by side.
The smell of bacon caused Steve to stir, and he sat up. His blonde hair was ruffled from sleep, and he yawned, stumbling his way over.
"I can help," he said, taking the spatula you were using to flip the pancakes with from your hand.
You whisked the eggs together to be scrambled once some space at the stove has cleared. You cut up some fruit, and soon, everyone was waking up.
You all ended up back on the floor because it's where everyone could fit.
"This is great," Clint complimented. He yawned, leaning against the couch for support.
"Yeah, we rarely do breakfast together," Nat said.
"Or sleep in," Tony added.
"Will you come back?" Wanda asked you. "Not as our therapist this time."
"Wanda, what would I do at the compound?" you whispered. You didn't mean it in a snarky way, but you had been living there temporarily as a job. By asking you to come back, what did that mean?
"You could be an honorary Avenger," Tony said. "We all enjoy your company, just as much as we enjoy each other's."
Everyone seemed to be watching you as you thought it over.
"Not yet," you decided. "You all need to focus on passing those evaluations, and then I will consider it."
You didn't want to complicate things for them. They needed to open up to someone else, and throwing you into the mix was going to be a mess.
"I don't want to talk to someone else," Steve grumbled, meeting your gaze. "But I guess I'll do it for you."

Honest thoughts: What do you think would have to happen differently in the airport battle for everyone on Team Cap to escape with Steve and Bucky instead of being captured? For me, I think the potential options are:
A) Vision doesn't needlessly destroy a control tower (that's all that would need to be changed for Wanda to get away at minimum, since her having to stop meant that Rhodey was able to use his sonic cannon on her).
B) Vision and/or Spider-Man change sides mid-battle.
C) Wanda remembers to use her mind powers and uses them to incapacitate Tony and those on his side.
D) Clint, Scott, Sam and Wanda knock out and/or kill Ross's men when they show up to take them into custody, then steal another plane.
E) Steve and Bucky refuse to leave any of their teammates behind, so swing the quinjet around to pick them all up.
F) Before Ross's forces can arrive to take Clint, Scott, Sam and Wanda into custody, Vision reasons with Tony that letting the four be held in a human-rights violating prison is a bad idea and that saving the world is more important, so Tony reluctantly agrees to stall for time.
Here are my (honest) thoughts on your ideas.
I think the best way for all of Team Cap to escape would be for Wanda to use her mind powers. It makes sense for her to not use them at the beginning of the fight because she would want to give Team Iron Man a chance to change their minds and stop fighting, but once it became clear that that wasn't going to happen, instead of deciding that most of them wouldn't escape, Wanda should have used her mind powers then. That would be a good way to make sure all of Team Cap escapes and nobody on Team Iron Man gets hurt. I wonder if she would not incapacitate Natasha, however, considering that Natasha was the least active member of Team Iron Man throughout the battle, and Wanda could clearly see that she was sparring with Clint rather than actually fighting him. She might thus be able to see that Natasha wasn't really on Team Iron Man, and bring her along too.
Since Vision appears to be unable to disobey Tony, it seems unlikely that he would be able to switch sides mid-battle. Maybe, however, Wanda could work with him during the battle to break Tony's hold over him. Wanda's role in the fight appeared to be to watch the action and rebuff Team Iron Man whenever necessary, but there was a significant amount of time between when she saved Bucky from T'Challa and when Scott turned big where neither she nor Vision appeared to be doing anything, so maybe they could have done that during that time. Then, Vision would no longer have to fight for Team Iron Man, and he would not have to engage in such shenanigans as destroying the control tower.
Peter changing sides mid-battle is definitely something that could have happened. When Peter finished telling Steve all the things Tony had told him, instead of just being like, "Guess he had a point!!!!!" Steve should have asked him, "Did he tell you that he's fighting for the government's right to oppress enhanced individuals?" That would certainly have given Peter pause, and he would probably stop fighting Team Cap at that point and demand answers from Tony, and then Tony's purposeful manipulation of Peter would come back to bite him. I don't think such a thing would have changed the outcome of the battle too much, since the most decisive thing Peter did was knock Scott over, but such a thing would certainly have been glorious to witness.
I don't think that allowing Ross's forces to catch up to them would be a good idea. Ross would doubtlessly bring a lot of men with him (as well as a lot of weaponry), and the four of them would have to be extremely careful not to kill anyone, because if they did it would doubtlessly be used as further propaganda against enhanced individuals. In addition, Team Iron Man would still be there. Wanda would probably end up doing most of the work here, and she would probably have to extensively use her mind powers, so if she was going to use her mind powers anyway, it would make more sense to do it when it was just Team Iron Man.
The problem with Steve and Bucky turning back is that this would open up the possibility for the Quinjet to be disabled or otherwise stopped somehow, which would be quite problematic. Steps would probably be taken not to destroy it because it's Avengers property, but Tony might try to do something that he could easily fix later, or Peter might try to do something with his webs. Such a strategy would only be possible if Wanda was available to guard the Quinjet from damage.
Vision reasoning with Tony would certainly be extremely interesting. Now, I'm not sure how effective it would be. Tony completely refused to listen when Steve tried to explain the situation to him the first time, after all, so there's no indication he would be willing to listen a second time, especially when he had such a clear opportunity before him to punish Team Cap for their insolence. And based on his conversation in the Raft with Clint, Tony was completely fine with the idea of them going to prison, he just didn't know that the conditions would be as bad as they were. (Though even when he saw those conditions, he made no effort to help them; he didn't so much as protest their treatment to Ross.) Not to mention, saving the world doesn't seem to be that important to him, considering that in Infinity War he literally (not figuratively) couldn't swallow his ego to save the entire universe. So whether Vision would be able to convince him to stall for time is unclear. You never know, however, for sometimes Tony's conscience sneaks up on him, as we saw at the beginning of the movie. It would thus be quite intriguing to watch Vision try.

For vampire!nat... do you think that she has old friends that she decides to introduce to the reader? I don't know why but I feel like that old friend would be wanda and they were both besties since before they turned and now that wanda knows about reader she helps nat with keeping reader in control.
Idk, but I would love to see your headcanons about it <333
Tumblr media
Thank you so much!! I appreciate the request <3 As for Vampire! Nat, I think I'm just going to insert a bit of my own lore surrounding these vamps rather than just leaving it up to y'all's interpretation.
Warnings: Yandere themes, talk of the reader having been kidnapped, held captive, and treated like a child.
Tumblr media
I think there would be a very select few people that Natasha would trust around her darling.
Usually, she's pretty proud, and she won't ask for help unless she really needs it. She keeps thinking that you're her child, so she should be able to take care of and discipline you herself rather than having others do it for her.
However, if it gets to a point where you clearly haven't been cooperating for a while, Nat will bring someone in who she thinks can help, because she does have friends out there.
A couple, like Bruce and Steve, she wouldn't trust around you. She thinks that Bruce is too soft-hearted to help control you and that his tenderness would only make you attached to him rather than her.
On the other hand, Nat believes that Steve would be too harsh. She's seen how mean he can be with his own darling, and while Nat may need help to control you, she doesn't want to break you in the process.
Natasha wants to find a proper medium. Not too harsh and not too soft. Two of those friends would be Wanda and Clint.
I definitely like the idea that they all grew up together and were friends before they turned. You're right about that vibe, anon.
Like they grew up in the same village, were best friends, and were promptly turned by the same guy. They learned the ropes together and still remain good friends to this day.
And while they may not stick together all of the time, they still keep in contact regularly and see each other every decade or so to catch up. Not to mention they all know they can call on each other for help if they need it.
Plus, Nat knows both of them well enough to trust them with her darling, which says a lot.
When you're getting hard to control, she trusts them not to be too hard or too soft on you. And they are good at that.
With her own darling, Wanda can be a bit (a lot) overbearing, but when dealing with her friend's child, it's a bit different.
She's incredibly charming, acting like the good cop to Natasha's bad cop. Her softness will allow you to talk to her and stop fighting as much.
Meanwhile, Clint is quite good at actually fixing the problem. Once Wanda gets you to talk about what sort of issues you have with Natasha's parenting style, Clint is the one that helps both you and Nat find a compromise.
If you want to go outside a bit more, Clint will suggest getting you a garden. Of course, you'll still be watched and tracked, but it is a compromise, so nothing comes for free.
If you act really, really good, Natasha also agreed to the idea of taking you to get ice cream every once in a while, under the condition that you don't misbehave (aka, scream for help or try to run.)
The one thing Natasha will never budge on is talking to your family, especially your bio parents. She's your mom and you're her child. She's the only family you have any more and you need to accept it.
But hey, life does get better once she seeks help from Wanda and Clint. At the very least, you get a few more freedoms so long as you act better.
