Obanai As Your Older Brother

(Spoilers for Obanai's backstory)

Obanai had felt Jealous of you when he was younger

Your family treated you way better than him, and he grew resentful due to that fact

But, no matter how horribly he treated you, you always showed him kindness

Even when he was locked away in a cage, you would sneak out to visit him, and bring him food

The more you did this, the more Obanai realized that he didn't actually hate you

He even occasionally smiled when he saw you, happy that someone was showing him kindness

Finally, Obanai escaped

However, his entire family was killed as a result

Or so he thought

He found you crying on the road outside of your home

Your face was covered in blood and he was horrified

Obanai expected you to blame him for what happened, expected you to hate him

But, you didn't

Instead, you were both scared, and happy to see him alive

He was relieved that someone still cared about him

It was at that moment he promised to keep you safe

You were the only family he had left, and he would do everything in his power not to lose you

Which is why he's completely against you becoming a demon slayer

He knows how dangerous of a job it is, and out right refuses when you ask him to train you

However, he finally relents when he finds out you asked Mitsuri to train you instead

He decided that if anyone is going to train you to become a demon slayer, it would be him

He doesn't go easy on you

He's determined to make you as strong as you can be

He's a nervous wreck when you go to the final selection

Obanai had faith in your abilities, but he will always worry

He actually cried tears of joy when you come back alive
