disclaimer: if u don't agree with some of these, please keep it to yourself. these are just my hcs!

if the marauders were set in 2023, he would run a semi famous poetry blog on tumblr.

he likes to play chess with remus/peter but gets annoyed if he doesn't win.

he loves birdwatching/birds in general. especially white doves and crows?? (has a little crow friend that brings him trinkets?!)

goes to the forest when anxious/upset and just walks around writing poetry about the forest. (example down there)

friendship headcanons:

regulus + pandora: 🌲

pandora is regs nr. 1 supporter.

pandora and regulus visit the ocean/forest together at night and they just talk for hours.

the trinkets reggies crow friend brings to him, he shares with pandora. (i just thought of the crow thing and i love it.)

regulus + barty: 🎸 (with help of gf)

they were eachothers first kiss.

they play guitar together, and make songs together.

they both wanted to be in a band with eachother.

they wanted to run away together bc of barty's dad and reg's parents.

regulus + dorcas: 🍃 (with help of gf)

weed buddies!!!!! (indica's usually)

they give eachother stick n poke tats!!!

regulus helps dorcas with her outfits. (he's a fashion guru.)

they dance together.

regulus + remus: ☕️

reading/cafe dates!!! (/p or /r however u wanna see it.)

they have a bookclub together. (the books they read are mostly classics and greek mythology retellings.)

give eachother lots of music recs, talk about their favorite songs.

regulus + lily: 🥀

when lily goes to the fields or forests with reggie, she and regulus pick flowers for lily to press.

they both carry journals, although lily puts more colorful stuff in hers, she always carries some paper and stickers for reg.

lily and reg make flower bouquets together. (not necessarily dark ones all the time, it just fits with the theme :)) (example down there)

We always talk about how James thinks he is too much and Regulus thinks he’s not enough, but may I propose the opposite? James, who is constantly living for others, afraid that he isn’t good enough for them so he burns himself out trying to be energetic and positive, while there’s Regulus, who is afraid that talking about his emotions and feelings too much will scare people away and will make them realize how different he really is from the rest of them, so he shuts himself out.

Regulus has a fear of being too much, that’s why he is so closed off. James is afraid of not being enough, that’s why he puts himself out there

Regulus is a liar.

Ever since he began his relationship with James a few months ago he has been lying to him almost daily.

Every morning James is the one who wakes up first, stretching his limbs, wrinkling his nose, rubbing his eyes as they adjust to the light filtering through the window and reaching for Regulus on the other side of the bed. Sometimes James merely caresses his head or outlines each of his facial features with his thumb as he contemplates him for long moments. At other times he comes close to hug him, burying his face in his neck and peppering him with kisses. But what never changes is the tremendous warmth in his voice every time he says, "Mi vida, it's time to get up."

The thing is, in all the time they've been together, James has never once woken up before Regulus. Growing up, punctuality was never optional in the Black family. If you were late for breakfast, you had to face the consequences. So waking up early is a habit that Regulus will doubtfully escape one day, even though it is no longer necessary. But ever since he spent his first night with James, and in a moment of panic pretended to be asleep when he saw the body next to him stirring as a sign that he was waking up, Regulus could never stop pretending after experiencing all the attention his boyfriend gives him in the mornings.

Regulus is a liar, but he doesn't feel an ounce of remorse for it.

James knows Regulus is a liar, but he makes a point of reminding him how precious he is and how much he loves him every morning while the other pretends to be asleep.

I'm just imagining a James lifting weights and training his arm and hip muscle a lot just so he can do exactly that

Reg is NOT falling over. There's no way James is gonna let him stand on a leg just so he won't fall. Nah Reg can have both legs around James, and James would hold him so closely and keep him in place like he's NOTHING cause his weights are heavier.

Walburga and Orion realistically never would’ve allowed for either child to live in the shadow of the other. A Black eclipsed by anyone, even another Black, would’ve been a disgrace.

You think they would’ve favoured Regulus if he’d been a weak, blushing and trembling kid hiding behind his brother? No, they simply excelled in different areas.

Sirius was all charm and charisma, knew when to laugh and smile, turned heads upon entering a room, left them wanting more — could’ve been the perfect heir had he only wanted it. Regulus was cold cunning and heartless manipulation, had people fearing and respecting him since he was 12 and loved it. He didn’t have to say a word, by 17 one look from him had people agreeing to anything. He was the perfect heir because he enjoyed the game.
