Like a Dragon: Ishin! - State of Play Sep 2022 Announcement Trailer
Like a Dragon: Ishin! remake will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store in February 2023 worldwide.

A Hero of Japanese History Brings About the Samurai’s End
Like a Dragon: Ishin! is an action-adventure historical thriller set uniquely in 1860s Kyo, a fictionalized version of Kyoto. While other games tell earlier stories in Japanese history, Like a Dragon: Ishin! lets you experience the story of how the iconic samurai era vanished. Our hero, Sakamoto Ryoma, is a true historical figure largely credited with overthrowing the shogunate and taking Japan into a radical reformation.

Four Killer Combat Styles and Riveting Heat Actions
In Like a Dragon: Ishin!, you can slash through foes with a lethal blade using the Swordsman style or sharpshoot your enemies with a revolver using the Gunman style. Better yet, wield both a gun and sword and enter a fury with the Wild Dancer style. And when you’re feeling extra brutal, smash some skulls with your bare fists using the Brawler style.

I really hope you enjoy this anon! I’ve re-wrote it a couple of times cause I wanted it to be fluffy and warm!
Your morning hadn’t started off great, in fact the sun hadn’t even shone through the curtain when you were woken up rather rudely by the tell-tale sign of cramps twisting your insides.
The slight feeling of wetness between your thighs were the next thing.
A groan fell out of your lips.
You didn’t even want to get up, just knowing that gravity wasn’t gonna be on your side either as soon as you sat up already anticipating the awful feeling of rushing warm liquid.
Then the cramps twisted again, and a rather undignified noise crawled up from the back of your throat,
“Goddam it,” You whined, sucking in your lips as you rested a hand on your tummy “Why did it have to start today of all days?”
Like a gust of wind, the last remnants of sleep quickly slipped out of your brain as another squeezing of your insides jolted you into getting out of bed, ignoring the awful feeling of spilling + gushing from between your thighs as the ache fully settled into your skin.
You pretty much went into autopilot as soon as you entered the bathroom.
Cleaning yourself up, blinking languidly at the blood that dripped – when you were younger you can remember crying whenever you saw your own blood coating your skin – simply wiping it up and going through the motions of changing into clothes and making sure you didn’t bleed through.
You went through the motions of daily routine, now with the added effect of cramps, and you were in the midst of taking some painkillers – helpfully provided by Shinobu who you were going to thank the next time you saw her - when the tell-tale knock of a certain someone echoed through the hall. It funnily enough wasn’t just any knock, but rather, the knock of your fellow hashira turned partner – aka. Boyfriend - Kyojuro Rengoku.
So, to the door you went - a particular step definitely making something squish out – with a hissed noise you made the choice to just call out, leaning up against the kitchen’s doorframe,
“It’s open Kyojuro!”
Somehow the couple of seconds after you called out you end up in his arms, blonde hair tickles your face as soft lips kiss your cheek an calloused hands hold yours.
“(Y/N)! My love!” Kyojuro chirped, pulling back with a bright aura “Good Morning! Hope you’re ready for the meeting later”
“Huh? Is that today??”
Kyojuro’s boisterous laughter reverberated through you, and a potted plant that happened to be next to you in the doorway shook slightly – you gave it a side glance to make sure it was ok.
If you weren’t in pain his enthusiasm would have been infectious…
“Of course!” Kyojuro shouted enthusiastically “I just thought I’d come over early however to see my beautiful partner!”
He ended his sentence with a blindingly beautiful smile.
At the same time your body decided that it needed to act out as a twinge of pain throbbed in your stomach and your head, sharp and cutting that it made you wince. Eyes fluttering closed as a particular mean cramp slithered your insides together.
“Ack!”
“(Y/N)! My love! Are you alright?”Kyojuro’s worried tones caused you to wince out a murmured reply as you gripped his hands “Let’s get you sat down….”
“I’d like that Kyo…”
Which is how you found yourself a couple of minutes later, sat down on one of your rickety chairs in the kitchen a cup of warm tea placed in front of you by a warm hand before Kyojuro busied his way around your kitchen, tidying things away and pulling other things out before making his way to the seat next to you.
Something worried in his eyes as he reached over to clasp your hand.
“Anything else I can do to help my love?” Kyojuro asked so lovingly, tone warm and worried as his eyes scanned your form “Do I need to get you anything? Food? Medicine?”
“I’ll be ok Kyo,” You managed to murmur out “It’s just that time of the month…. I’ll be ok”
“Hmmm,” He hummed, a hand resting thoughtfully under his chin, head slightly tilting to the side in contemplation
You had to stop yourself from “awing” at how cute he looked tilting his head to the side.
“Honestly Kyo its fine,” You said with a wave of your hand “I’ve dealt with these for years, so you don’t have to do anything.”
“Absolutely not!”
You paused, blinking in a way that no doubt looked stupid as Kyojuro gripped your shoulders and stared intently at your face – eyes staring at you with such an intensity that you honestly didn’t think you could move from your spot.
How did he mange to move so quickly?
“Excuse me?” You managed to get out before being interrupted
“How can I stand by when my partner is in pain?”
You blinked a couple more times, a small smile tilted the corner of your lips up before you gently cupped Kyojuro’s face,
“Alright then”
He perked up.
“If I tell you what I would like you to do, to help me then we can go to the meeting,” You said simply “Ok?”
A particularly bright look erupted across his face, tiny stars twirling in his eyes as his lips pulled back into his beautiful smile,
“Ok! I’ll do anything you want that’ll make you feel better”
You had to giggle, ignoring the throbbing ache that pulsed underneath your skin.
“I want a hug”
Kyojurou’s head tilted again, an eyebrow raised in question,
“Just a hug? Nothing else?”
“Well……” You murmured, looking away “If you could maybe, rub my stomach? It’s just to help sooth!”
Kyojuro just smiled, holding out his hand to you as he stood up,
“Come on,” He said “Lets get you some sun too, it’ll help”
And you followed; letting him lead you to the engawa that ran around the back of your house that overlooked the garden, almost sighing when sunlight hit your skin – it smelled like the beginning of summer – Kyojuro stopped simply observing the area before gently tugging you to a particular sunny spot.
You paused, a particular twinge of pain shooting up you as you watched kyojuro sit, his legs spread wide and planted firmly before his smiling face turned to you – like a sunflower turning toward the sun – a loving and sympathetic smile on his face as he patted the space between his legs.
You smiled, moving towards him and just sitting.
But as soon as you sat you couldn’t help but sag back into him, body almost limp in-between his thighs, back to chest, already soaking in his warmth and comfort that he freely provided.
Resting your hands atop his thighs, provided you with the chance to rest against + on him and you were more aware of the powerful muscle of his thigh and his warmth that ran higher than any normal persons.
But Kyojuro’s warm hands gently rested on your clothed hips, bringing you back from your random train of thoughts, calloused fingers and palms moving slowly in circles in a comforting motion, before moving up to your tummy were he then started to softly knead – like a cat or kitten.
You sighed, eyelashes fluttering against the apple of your cheek as you rested your head back against the junction of Kyojuro’s neck and shoulder.
He smells nice, you thought Like burning wood and sunflowers…
Kyojuro’s warm hands continued to sooth your aching insides, the sun continuing to heat the both of you up slowly and you honestly couldn’t help the sleep that took over your poor aching body.
Neither of you got to the hashira meeting on time….

Meet the Seiyuu: Lilia Vanrouge
Lilia’s VA Midorikawa has voiced many characters in iconic series such as SLAM DUNK’s Rukawa Kaede and Gundam Wing’s Heero Yuy (the performance that inspired Shimazaki Nobunaga—the VA of Lilia’s adopted son, Silver—to go into voice acting as well).
In interviews Midorikawa has explained that he first formed an interest in voice acting in elementary school after watching the anime “Mobile Suit Gundam” and as a child he decided to, one day, join the same agency as the VA of the main character after reading about the company in a voice acting magazine.
That is now his current agency, Aoni Production.
As the eldest son in his family he was originally intended to take over the family pharmacy, but he defied his parents in order to pursue his dream of voice acting.
Midorikawa made his voice acting debut in 1988 and has since had roles in over 300 anime series and OVA and 400 video games.

In retrospect, it’s pretty amusing how similar Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Fruits Basket 2019 ended up being. Both of the manga they’re based on are crown jewels in their respective shonen and shoujo demographics. Both series already had one adaptation in the early 2000s. Both those adaptations were controversial for the changes they made, and also left the story unfinished as they were released while the manga was still running. So eventually, they were each given a new adaptation, covering the entirely of their now-finished manga with almost the exact same episode count. And while these new adaptations may not be the most creative adaptations they could be, the completeness of their adaptation and the talent of the anime staff bringing them to life ensures that they will forever remain the definitive version of their story.
And, of course, there’s one other way they’re similar.
Both are some of the greatest anime ever made.
In the past, I’ve described FMA Brotherhood as the once and future king of anime adventure, fit to stand alongside any titan of classic adventure literature. It’s only fitting, then, that Fruits Basket 2019 has turned out to be every bit the queen of anime romance. From the unimpeachable character banter to the utterly spellbinding drama, the way everyone’s emotions tangle and twist and grow, how it explores such heavy topics with such unflinching bravery, how it seeks to understand the concept of love itself and why it’s worth fighting for in the first place, and so, so much more, this series is nothing more or less than the pinnacle of everything that makes romantic drama so meaningful. Other series have done similar things, walked similar paths, but never with such a singular, all-encompassing vision. Not with so much time to explore every facet of the characters’ feelings, every nuance of their lives, every detail that makes up this sprawling tapestry we call life. Watching Froobs 2019 is every bit the total package as FMAB before it, such a complete and thorough example of its genre that everything else must now settle with fighting for second best.
Of course, Fruits Basket has been pretty incredible all throughout. My countless posts gushing over it should be proof enough of that. But it isn’t until this final season, when the long-simmering tension of the Sohmas’ impending judgement day finally bursts to the surface in a finale for the ages, that it truly earned its place among my all-time favorites. Not until this spectacular, astounding, overwhelming climax did I truly realize how much I’d come to love Fruits Basket, and how much it had earned my love through some of the most heartwrenching, heartwarming storytelling I’ve seen in this medium or any other. I love these characters. I love their stories. I love what this tale can teach us above love, fear, guilt, grief, abuse, forgiveness, hope, death, and life in equal measure. I love how utterly this final season destroyed me and left me huddled in a sobbing heap. I love this show with the kind of dizzying, terrifying love that I so rarely get to experience fresh anymore. I. Love. Fruits. Basket.
I wish I could say I loved it without qualification. I wish my love didn’t have to share space with Arisa and Kureno’s romance, or the lackluster student council characters, or any of the countless problematic moments that litter this show like shards of glass from a shattered window. But you know what? That’s fine. If there’s one thing that Fruits Basket has taught me, it’s that the truest form of love is one that doesn’t ignore the flaws you wish you could blind your eyes to. Love is not love if it doesn’t see the bad in you as well as the good, if it’s not pushing you to be the best version of yourself that you can possibly be. And if I criticize Froobs’ failing, it’s only because I love it enough to afford it that respect. I love this show just as Tohru loves Kyo, just as Kyo loves Tohru, just as Hatsuharu loves Rin, just as God loved all his zodiac. And not even its flaws, as painful as they can be, are enough to stop me from giving this final season- and by extension, the entire show- a score of:
10/10

Yh hopefully it will their relationship right now is so wholesome and I wouldn’t be surprised if it took a twist I just don’t want neither of them to get hurt. Even the second lead if he does have feelings for her I don’t see Yuki reciprocating them at any point. Hopefully he meets someone else :) Itsuomi doesn’t strike me as a childish guy so as you said I could see him handling it very maturely and again the whole situation could make him realise his strong feelings for her. For suggestions, I don't usually read Shoujo manga because its hard to find good ones. I made an acception with Yubisaki to Renren because its just so well done! (＊￣︶￣＊)
Still, here are some Shoujo, Josei & romance mangas that I really enjoyed:
• Perfect World by Aruga Rei
(slightly similar to Yubisaki to Renren, disability & older characters)
• Oboreru Knife by George Asakura
(beware! this is a psychological romance. it'll make you feel a whirlwind of emotions but its really good, very realistic! The protagonist is a very mature girl, love her perspective and portrayal as a growing up teen)
• Fruits Basket by Takaya Natsuki
(you must've heard of this, the supernatural aspect may sound funny but give it a chance. this manga will teach you a lot about love with a lot of feels! Kyo Sohma is by far my fav Shoujo male lead ♡)
• Akagami no Shirayukihime by Akizuki Sorata
(this is a really mellow tale. A romance that cuts through fate. Set in medieval era, the love story of a Prince and an Herbalist trying to establish herself amongst the court. A powerful female lead and an equally amazing male lead. Prince Zen is a sweetheart)
• Tama no Gohoubi by Hoshiya Kaori
(Honestly, this is just a fun one! Its a short 16 chapter read. Won't drag on too long and its kinda cute. A socially inept boy and a girl who's never gone to co-ed schools until high school)
• Hibi Chocho by Morishita Suu
(Yes! The author of Yubisaki to Renren. Another plot that will give you diabetes. Both the characters are adorably shy)
Mangas that aren't shoujo/josei but have Romance as a major theme:
• Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles
(A lot of pining but its beautiful)
• Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
(basically a shonen comedy romance, every chapter is equally hilarious and gives ample appearances to all ships)
• Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun
(it will make you feel a twinge of pain but also feel soft, you won't be able to put it down)
• Hyouka
(this is just loads of tension concealed behind the excuse of solving mysteries. an introverted boy's encounter with an extrovert girl. cue their fluffy interactions and loads of tension!)
• Eureka 7
(this is a shonen mecha but its core is love and bonds and it shows a variety of lovers and their differing dynamics)
• Noragami
(God-Human forbidden romance but add in loads of drama & pain, always love re-reading)
• Spy X Family
(fairly new, found family trope with Spy Dad, Assassin Mom and an Esper Child. Its hilarious and delectable with undertones of war and tensions between nations)

Throughout the days he would tell you to refer to him as son. Or some Kyo. Nicknames from his childhood. He would tell you that if you didn't answer to your given name he would burn it into your legs.

Super Crooks is Netflix's anime makeover of the story by comic-book legend Mark Millar. Director Motonobu Hori and Netflix Anime Producer Rui Kyo presented a first-look at the series, which follows small-time crook Johnny Bolt as he recruits the ultimate heist crew for one last score.
A Brothers Grimm-inspired project, with character designs by CLAMP and a script by screenwriter Michiko Yokotehe, that will put an “entirely new and modern twist” on the classic fairy tale collections.
A time-traveling bath house comedy Thermae Romae Novae was revealed. Manga creator Mari Yamazaki will adapt her popular tales of an ancient Roman bath designer named Lucius who accidentally slips through time and learns about modern Japanese bath culture.
The House is an eccentric dark comedy centered on a house and the three surreal tales of the individuals who made it their home. The stories will be presented as a stop-motion anthology.
Inside Job, by creator/showrunner Shion Takeuchi (Gravity Falls, Regular Show) and executive producer Alex Hirsch (Gravity Falls), which will be the first adult animated series created in-house by Netflix Animation Studios. Inside Job revolves around the shadow government — and the dysfunctional team whose daily grind is committing the world’s conspiracies.
Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles, based on the long-running comic book, Usagi Yojimbo, from creator Stan Sakai. The series takes place in the far future, set in a world that mixes modern high-tech images with classic Japanese references. It follows the teenage Rabbit Samurai Yuichi, descendant of the great warrior Miyamoto Usagi, on his epic quest to become a true samurai.

Fruits Basket Manga Review , ch 102- 106
I thought abt skipping those chapters cuz the difference from the anime are’nt big & there’s hardly any tohru in them which I know where the great difference between anime & manga is. However, I like yuki & I was delighted to see the difference between manga yuki & anime yuki! Really, furuba anime makes so much focus on him & all, yet manages to miss the mark when it comes to his character. Yuki is such a prince “from a fairy tale but with trauma” in the anime which contradicts his vision of himself in canon as he said it IS fake, but in the manga he’s a real character with layers.
A-Chapters 102 & 103/ se03, ep 3 ( A dynamic Yuki vs a prince):
Not much change in the plot from the anime, se03, ep 3, except few things I’ll highlight here:
MACHI: ch.102 is basically machi’s story that we saw in se03 ep 3 first half before the motoko part. but it’s fascinating how the anime handled it greatly & how the manga had its unique touch. The anime gave machi’s part its own color, mood & focus, while the manga excelled in the facial expressions.
YUKI: In ch. 102 & 103, Yuki in particular had many facial expressions in such a refreshing way different from the anime. In the anime, yuki emoted exclusively with kyo & kakeru in ways that you don’t need to hear his monologue to understand his thoughts, he was also allowed expressiveness with machi in the anime but with maintaining big doses of his princely aesthetics & mannerism cuz we see him from achi’s perspective. Ironic cuz she calls him imperfect but the anime gives him lots of shojo bubbles from her pov. In the manga, yuki is way more expressive with lots of characters!!! Even with the fanclub girls, he had funny expressions, & we see a cute scene of machi trying to cheer him up!
in the manga, yuki & machi both are given expressive features. Machi isn’t silent with her head down 95% of the time & yuki is is not living in his own head & is very dynamic with other characters as well, which makes him feel real.
Also, in the manga, yuki isn’t super skinny like the anime! I love how he fills his school uniform without it looking so baggy. In the manga, yuki looks like a grown teenager boy reaching his 17!!! In the anime, yuki looks the same all seasons.
In the anime, the clear body growth was exclusive to kyo in se02, during beach arc mainly cuz the plot required it as tohru kept commenting on kyo growing up physically & told Kazuma. So, the anime made huge effort to make kyo look grown physically. Also, in the anime, yuki is given a princely aura from se01 to 3 as his physical appearance & aesthetics remained the same minus his interaction with kakeru where you see glimpses of a more firm & free character. A peek into his soul perhaps?
B-Ch 104 -106, Anime, se3, ep 4. (Isuzu’s Arc closed, Akito’s begins!):
I love the way the page transitioned from Isuzu’s hair at kureno’s feet to Haru’s entering akito’s room!
I love akito in this chapter/ep, not love her as in support her, no. lol. but love how this chapter/ep sheds light into her twisted mind. Great writing! The way Akito was shocked at kureno’s betrayal of saving Isuzu is why Akito’s growth from abuser to feeling guilt & repent is not satisfactory in the anime ( I’m yet to reach this part in the manga, so I’ll wait to see if it was handled differently). Akito was way more self-centered & concerned with her delusions to stop a bit & entertain the thought that isuzu was on the verge of death. This is a huge red flag. This is sth you can’t brush under tohru’s healing words of feeling similar to akito & akito finding “ true friendship” as a healthy replacement to her delusional “ together forever”.
-The core characters that the entire show/ story/ manga is built upon their views are tohru & akito. You can’t spend 2 seasons & a half faintly touching these characters’ pov & trauma, then give quick hasty focus, then hit them with “ healing growth”. Both tohru & akito needed more screen time/ spotlight to dwell into them cuz they’re fascinating characters!
This chapter the focus is on haru & isuzu, however, these two characters arc would pretty much be wrapped after this chapter/ep minus few cleaning here & there. Akito’s descending into darkness truly begins here. This is what should be followed & given much care!
I love how this line connects what seems like a sub-plot story to the main story of the original zodiacs!!! In the original story, the cat refused to be by the Ruler’s side & it was percieved as the cat betraying him & the others. All the rest of the animals must ALWAYS be on the Ruler/Akito side & not copy the Monster/Cat behavior. Excellent foreshadowing & a twist to kyo’s/ akito’s / kureno’s story! The cat was right all along, but it’s not abt right or wrong. It’s abt choosing sides. With us or against us. If you are not with us, you are the barbaric enemy/ monster. ( kinda similar to our real world issues & politics)
Side Notes:
I have nothing to say abt motoko except in a 13 ep core & major final season with thematic & plot focus, she really got her share. Out of all the content to cut. what logic? I can never understand..... Not hating, but truly bewildered & confused. Fan service? Gotta be. Wasting valuable screen time for a character with no effect on plot or characters or anything.. I mean if it was a 26 ep season, then okay... but the nope! lets chop chop core plot & give motoko an epic send off!
Maybe Motoko got pity love from the anime team? She wasnt given yuki’s love, so the decision maker whoever they are, gave her better emotional focus than the actual love interest (machi) has got! XD (again not hating, but amused! XD)
I love how furuba’s writing don’t need over-exaggerated drama at all. All the pain is in the writing. in the characters themselves. The anime only needed to focus on them & get rid of the theatrical display of emotions & forced fast paced & unrealistic timeline. sigh~
Still, I love how ep 4 was directed in the anime starting the 2nd part, it was given its own mood & colors.
I love that Haru didnt just find Isuzu in the streets right wawy but waited few days to meet her. It hammers the importance of pacing time in the manga, but I also understands why the anime needed to go directly to it seeing that as I said haru & isuzu are reaching the end of their arc here & they want to close the door behind their issues once & for all. lol.
Everthing else abt Machi story, haru & isuzu, akito & kureni, I have already said before in my weekly anime reviews when se03 was airing.
I peeked into ch. 107 first two pages!!!!! Tohru’s focus???? Is this the beginning of the weakly directed ep 6? YESS!!! I cant wait to read it next weekend! <3
