fun fact: shakespeare was a cisflexible, stargender individual, who labeled starself as cupiosexual, homoflux, and sapioromantic.

i was shocked upon hearing this, as i never expected someone as well-known and important as shakespeare to be part of the lgbtqaaipomtnrrakguxzl+ community.

i’ve always known them as a cishet male, and i suspect that has to do with the spread of misinformation by homophobes and transphobes.

many historians are white, cis, heterosexual men, that i assume were threatened by the idea of an intelligent, queer, individual. so, they spread lies about shakespeare, and said that they were a cishet.

we as queer ppl need to take a stand, and prevent this from happening. we need to reclaim the members of our community that have been taken from us.

hi, I’m a girl and I’m attracted to girls but I don’t know what to call myself because sometimes I don’t have attraction to anyone. Is there a term for this and if so what is it?

Let’s see... there is:

Aceflux: a sexual orientation on the asexual spectrum & is defined as someone who's sexual orientation fluctuates but always stays on the ace spectrum. (ex. one day you're demi, another day akoi, the next ace, etc) and/or someone who's sexual orientation fluctuates from experiencing sexual attraction, some sexual attraction, & experiencing no sexual attraction. Some people who are aceflux feel as if they are allosexual at times, while other aceflux people don't feel that way.

Lesbiflux/Homoflux/Gayflux: a gay person/lesbian who’s attraction fluxes between levels of attraction (including no attraction).

Or you can combine them! Up to you!

Wait.. if there's a name for a fluxuating sexuality does that mean there could be one for a fluxuating romanticism? i.e, one day lesbian one day aromantic (but still ace no matter what)?

Of course! There’s a whole wide range of romantic orientations, just as there are sexualities. For the most part: if it’s a sexuality, it can be a romanticism. (There are a few exceptions to this rule, but that’s an entirely different topic.)

I’m guessing you’re referring to -flux sexualities (which are typically seen as a-spec, regardless), but in the off chance you may be referring to -fluid orientations, I’ll just drop the definitions of those suffixes here:

-fluid: When your attraction [romantic or sexual] is subject to change with some amount of time; It could change back to something you had previously experienced or not. Any type of change (rapidly or slowly; often or on occasion, patterned or random; externally or internally influenced, or not influenced at all) is valid as fluid.

-flux: When your attraction changes in intensity- going anywhere from experiencing attraction very strongly to not experiencing attraction at all, or even being repulsed. Similarly to the above, any type of change is valid.

Now, what you describe I would probably file under Aroflux (when the intensity/strength of romantic attraction you feel fluctuates). Of course, if the only kind of romantic attraction you do experience is lesbian, then you could reword this however it suits you.

Some Possible Labels for Nonnie

- Aroflux Ace Lesbian [All encompassing]

- Homoflux Ace [Lesbians fall under the homo- attraction prefix by definition]

- Sapphic-flux Ace [Since Sapphic is a popular wlw term]
