Name: Yellow Shy Guy
Debut: Certainly not Mario Kart Tour! (It was Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island)
Yeah yeah yeah this is a very Regular Mario Enemy. Yes, you are on the right blog! But this is a Regular Mario Enemy, in a Weird Mario Situation... yeah, it’s another post about the specifics of character alt colors in Mario Kart Tour. I hope you like those!
Tumblr media
Shy Guys come in all sorts of colors! They always have! Red may be default, but yellow can always be counted on to make an appearance if other colors are present. It makes sense, since Yellow is one of the main characters of Colors. Do you consider the primary colors to be red/blue/yellow or magenta/cyan/yellow? Doesn’t matter! Yellow is there! Please do not bring up RGB. But if you do, I will simply retort that the powers of red and green light must combine to give rise to the mighty Yellow!
Tumblr media
Yellow Shy Guy is also very often playable! In older, more limited games, the default red may be the only one playable, but these days you can confidently expect Yellow Shy Guy to be an option. If you were lucky in Mario Kart DS download play, you might be assigned Yellow Shy Guy by random chance! Yellow Shy Guy finally became selectable in Mario Kart 8′s DLC, which to me is more appealing than any of the added characters. While my favorite color is light blue, I am a big fan of Yellow Shy Guy, and find his green shoes more fashionable than Light-Blue Shy Guy’s red ones!
But then, along came Mario Kart Tour. Red Shy Guy was the first one present, no problem with that! We all knew the rest would come soon enough. But they came in a weird order! Black, pink, green, light blue, blue, white, orange... At the time of Orange Shy Guy’s release, it had been nearly three and a half years since the game launched. And yet, still no sign of that classic yellow fellow? I’m normally mellow, but that makes me want to bellow! Even a gold Shy Guy was added... gold. The coward’s yellow!
Tumblr media
On the wiki’s list of Shy Guy colors, Yellow is among the only ones not using a render from Tour, instead being shown using one from Dr. Mario World, in a different pose. Yellow looks like an impostor among all these others! I’m here if he ever needs to vent.
Tumblr media
According to Mario Super Sluggers, Yellow Shy Guy loves to steal. Hey! Stealing is bad! Is that why you’re not allowed in Tour, Yellow Shy Guy? Green Shy Guy loves to hit and run, but that’s okay. Mario Kart is all about vehicular violence. They love that kind of attitude!
Tumblr media
This all being said, Yellow Shy Guy is technically playable in Tour, though as a variant in the form of Yellow Shy Guy (Explorer). This is an act of community service, as Yellow Shy Guy is graciously role-playing as an old-timey prospector as seen in the new version of Sunset Wilds, replacing the racist usage of Shy Guys from the GBA version of the track. Thank you, Yellow Shy Guy! But still, he should not have to hide himself behind a costume to get a place in the roster. Or I guess a second costume, in this case. When will being a humble Yellow Shy Guy be seen as enough...?
Poor Yellow Shy Guy. But oh? What is that, under the read more of this post? Wow! I can’t believe it! What a thing to behold! You should click Read More, so you can see it!
Tumblr media
Donkey Kong is finally getting a costumed variant, and about time too! Congratulations to him! Sorry to Yellow Shy Guy though. Yellow Shy Guy is not Donkey Kong, you see. Unless he IS Donkey Kong under his robes and mask, and gorillas can be compressed into much smaller states than I was aware of.
...Huh? What’s that, live studio audience of children? There’s something I’m missing? There’s something else of note in this tour? Oh! Thank you for letting me know! Let’s see...
Tumblr media
HOORAY!!!!!
Yellow Shy Guy loves to steal, it’s true. And he is especially great at stealing the show! I am so proud of Yellow Shy Guy for finally making it into Mario Kart Tour! #YellowShyGuySweep! It makes me want to play as Yellow Shy Guy in Mario Kart 8, which is a much better game where you can access Yellow Shy Guy quickly and easily.
To celebrate our friend’s victory, if you have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you could play the custom Yellow Mode I made up! Here are the rules:
1. All humans must play as Yellow Shy Guy, and use only the yellowest of kart parts!
2. Only yellow items may be used! This means Coin, Banana, Triple Banana, Golden Mushroom, Star, and Lightning!
3. Only yellow courses are allowed! There are not that many yellow courses, so you can use your imagination here. For example, Toad Circuit features a big Yellow Toad balloon, and untextured Yellow sand! Wario’s Gold Mine is about mining some Yellow Minerals! Ice Ice Outpost features a whole yellow track, but don’t even think about driving on the green one!
And speaking of yellow tracks... I hope everyone’s looking forward to the Simpson Tour, featuring the new Springfield Streetrace track! Mario Kart Tour? More like Mario BART Tour! Aye carumba!

Midwinter Carol 3 / The Carriage
Tumblr media
Pairing: Ascended Astarion x Female Elf Sorceress OC
Word Count: 2.9K
Story navigation: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
Summary/Setting: Based on the prologue/premise from my OneShot "A Midwinter Carol."
Astarion and the OC broke up after his ascension. She left Baldur's Gate for fifteen years, only to return just recently. Following the events of "A Midwinter Carol," Ascended Astarion has been convinced to pursue a new beginning. Will he be able to change who he has become, with the help of his ex-lover? Or will he ultimately fall victim to his pride and desire for power?
Preview:
“Astarion… why did you reach out, after all this time?” She asks, dropping her gaze to her hands, which have been neatly folded in her lap. “What do you mean?” The Vampire Lord responds, feigning ignorance as he steals a moment to prepare himself for the conversation he knows they are about to have. He turns his head to stare out the window, hoping to give himself the illusion of further distance from Eirianwen. Her close proximity was unnerving.  “You know what I mean, Astarion. I tried to contact you via the sending stones. For years. You never responded.” Her tone is tight as she tries to contain the indignation and hurt. Fifteen years apart, and the fact that he hadn’t communicated with her once, despite her efforts, still stung. It had been a gaping wound in her heart that had never fully healed.  Eirianwen had asked to meet with the Ascendant at the Elfsong, a few weeks after their relationship ended. He had been under the impression it was to reconcile, and that she had changed her mind about his offer. Instead, she had given him the sending stone and expressed her desire to remain friends. The suggestion of being merely Eirianwen’s friend had nearly made Astarion retch on the spot.
Warnings: This will be 18+ / in game spoilers / OOC Ascended Astarion because it follows my epilogue / Eventual Smut and maybe Gore / Angst, trauma, fluff
A/N: IDK guys I'm on a role with the fics this weekend and obsessed with this concept so... here's another one! If you want to be added to the taglist for this series, please leave a comment clearly stating that so I can keep track!
It had been a strange week. Returning to Baldur’s Gate proved more emotionally exhausting than Eirianwen had anticipated.
Perhaps she should have said no to Astarion’s invitation; part of her worries accompanying him may be a mistake. She felt as if sprites were flying around in her stomach.
In retrospect, the sorceress should have been more hesitant and asked more questions, but his sudden, unexpected appearance had completely disarmed her. Did he consider this a date? Or was it simply an invitation between two old friends? She truly couldn’t be certain.
But, perhaps she was needlessly concerned, and everything would turn out fine. Anyway, the elven woman had to find a way to talk to Astarion about some delicate matters; it had been the main reason she’d returned to Baldur’s Gate after all this time.
A single dance at the Midwinter Gala would not have been the appropriate setting for the conversation. At the time, Eirianwen feared Astarion would scorch everything and everyone around them in a rage if she’d done anything but allow him the dance. The barely concealed fury in his eyes as he cut in between her and Wyll on the ballroom floor had caused her stomach to churn with anxiety.
Perhaps the sprites had made a home in her stomach after that interaction. The feeling returned every time she laid eyes on the Vampire Lord.
Since the gala, the sorceress had been fixated on speaking to Astarion again. She spent several hours a day desperately trying to form a plan; more than one letter had been drafted, ripped to shreds, and tossed. Eirianwen was embarrassed to admit that she, the elusive hero of Baldur’s Gate, had been too much of a coward to show up and face him at his own palace, where she had ended their relationship fifteen years ago.
But then the Vampire Lord did the hardest part and called upon her, to her astonishment.
Accepting the invitation seemed, at the very least, a good opportunity to extend an olive branch to the Ascendant. She hoped to mend their friendship before delivering any shocking news, mostly to avoid the worst of his rage.
The way he spoke to her when they broke up still caused a pang in her heart. She shakes away the memory, instead choosing to reflect on the events of this week.
When Eirianwen met Wyll for lunch the same day as Astarion’s unplanned visit, she’d informed the Duke about the Vampire Ascendant’s invitation. The conversation had not gone well. Thinking about it now, as she waits beside the Duke for the Ascendant’s carriage to arrive, makes the woman’s palms sweat. There are those sprites again.
“Wyll… why didn’t you tell me about the benefit auction this weekend?”
“I meant to bring it up at lunch today, Eirianwen. Actually, I was wondering if you’d like to accompany me?”
“Oh… I’m sorry, Wyll. Astarion came to call on me just earlier today and–”
Wyll stiffened, and his face evolved from its typical relaxed, amiable manner into a hardened visage she hardly recognized. She had been quick to try and soothe the Duke, unwilling to cause a rift between them. He had been an exceedingly gracious host, and she was more thankful for his warm welcome than words could express.
“He didn’t access the grounds! Your guards are most excellent, they didn’t allow him entry!” She hastily explained, conveniently leaving out her attempts at convincing them otherwise, and Astarion’s attempt to sneak in through the rear of the property, “But I happened to be outside and, well, he invited me. And I’ve already said yes. It’s for a good cause, after all, and I didn’t know you were planning on attending since you hadn’t mentioned it.”
His face dropped into a look she did not quite understand. He sighed and shook his head before murmuring, “Are you sure that’s wise? Ani, I–”
She bristled at the nickname, which only one person had ever been allowed to call her. Her tone was clipped when she quickly interjected, “Please don’t call me that, Wyll.”
The Duke snapped his mouth shut and sighed again before returning his attention to his meal. His jaw stayed clenched between bites of food.
The rest of lunch passed in uncomfortable silence.
Umber meows beside Eirianwen and she shoos away her thoughts, bending down to place a gentle pat on the cat’s head.
Wyll glances at his pocket watch and then turns to the elven woman, “Eirianwen, he’s late. Are you certain he’s coming? I would be more than happy to–”
Speak of the devil. The Duke and the sorceress simultaneously spot Astarion’s carriage coming around the corner. Wyll’s mouth seals into a thin line as the offer he was about to make dies upon his lips.
Two obsidian draft horses come to a halt in front of Eirianwen; the footman quickly drops down and opens the chariot door. Astarion emerges from the confines of the vehicle with an arrogant eyebrow raised and a small, self-satisfied smirk on his lips. He’s wearing another one of his ostentatious, heavily embroidered jackets; this one is black velvet with golden dragons breathing fire along the lapel.
He knows he looks good.
As the Vampire Lord descends from the carriage, his eyes gloss over Wyll with apathy and then settle on Eirianwen.
“You look wonderful, Ani.” Astarion murmurs as his scarlet eyes take in the deep navy blue of her trumpet-silhouette evening gown.
Wyll’s head snaps to the sorceress as he notices, with displeasure, that she does not admonish the Vampire Lord for calling her the very nickname he’d been forbidden to use. A muscle twitches in the Duke’s jaw as he observes this reunion.
“Good to see you again, Astarion.” Eirianwen greets with a nod as she brings an anxious hand up to play with her necklace. The tension between the two men was so overwhelmingly thick that it could have been cut with her old sussur dagger; her stomach is fluttering again.
The Vampire Lord is distracted by the action, and his eyes immediately flit to her neck, where he cannot help but to notice the small pin prick scars that remain from… before. He instinctively shifts his eyes away.
“That’s a beautiful necklace, it goes well with the dress.” The pale elf compliments mechanically, looking past the woman’s shoulder as he quickly tries to smooth over his brief moment of awkwardness. He’s certain both Eirianwen and Wyll noticed as he faltered, distracted by those little fang scars. Astarion is painfully aware that his carefully crafted, cool, and collected persona slips further and further from reach every time he interacts with the sorceress.
It is at moments like this, when his mask fumbles and his charisma wanes, where he still feels like the tragic, weak spawn version of himself.
Astarion had immediately recognized Eirianwen’s necklace to be the work of her family, the Ar’Tel’Tavas jewelers based in Silverymoon. Over the years, the Ascendant commissioned more than one piece from the family, under a pseudonym. It had been the only piece of Ani with him all this time.
The Lord was quite aware the family’s funds supported their daughter on her little adventures. Eirianwen may not have been a noble, but she had been a child of privilege. She was allowed to do as she pleased and flit around all of Faerun because her parents ensured she would be provided for. He was not ignorant of that fact.
Astarion had reasoned long ago that if he could not have her, then he would at least make sure she was provided for. His purchases ensured she had access to more than enough funds for her savior act. He’d owed her at least that… after everything.
The Vampire Lord, despite his pride, had always been aware it was Ani’s planning and command of their group that ultimately put him where he now was. In another lifetime, he would still be under Cazador or dead without her interference. He was loath to admit he certainly wouldn’t be the Ascendant without her help.
Some days he hated her for it; most days, he accepted the gift for the double-edged sword it was.
The Vampire Lord’s left hand fiddles restlessly with the gold ring on his right pinky; it was one of a few dozen commissions designed by Ani’s parents, and the only one he wore on a daily basis. The signet is a snowflake, backed by a cool blue enamel.
The pad of Astarion’s index finger rubs against the lifted texture of the ring as he forces himself to acknowledge Wyll. The Ascendant nods tersely but does not perform the customary bow. He would never submit to Wyll, even as the best version of himself.
The pale elf simply greets the human man with a cold, “Duke Ravengard.”
Wyll nods back, but no other pleasantries are exchanged between the two men.
“We should head out; we are going to be late.” Wyll murmurs in general, though he has his eyes trained on the sorceress.
Eirianwen glances at Wyll and nods before she makes her way toward Astarion’s carriage. Before the Vampire Lord can offer to help his ex-lover inside, Wyll extends his hand to Eirianwen and ushers her into the other man’s caravan. The pale elf bristles at the slight, fist clenching into a ball as he locks hardened eyes with the Duke.
Umber hops in the carriage after the sorceress, and at first Astarion thinks to protest, but quickly censors himself, knowing better than to press Eirianwen about her pets. He briefly recalls she hadn’t allowed him to touch her for a week when he’d refused to let Scratch sleep in the bed with them.
The familiar sprawls itself out on the seat opposite Eirianwen and then turns its head expectantly to Astarion, as if waiting for him to enter the carriage.
“We’ll see you there, Wyll.” The elf hisses cooly, his arrogant eyebrow raised in a silent challenge.
Wyll brushes past the Vampire Lord with no acknowledgement.
-----
Two ghosts sit side by side, both staring at the cat lounged on the other side of the vehicle. Several moments of silence pass. The ex-lovers shared a carriage for only one event prior to this, when they had attended Wyll’s coronation as a couple all those years ago.
The sorceress had cast an arcane lock on the door to prevent the footman from opening it, and Astarion had barked an order at the driver to simply leave the carriage in the driveway. By the time the caravan had been parked in front of the palace, Eirianwen had already fallen apart twice under the Ascendant’s expert ministrations.
It had been the first time he’d been able to be inside her without the usual feelings of disgust and the desire to pull back. They’d broken up not more than a few months after.
Once again, it is the elven woman that breaks the heavy silence.
“Astarion… why did you reach out, after all this time?” She asks, dropping her gaze to her hands, which have been neatly folded in her lap.
“What do you mean?” The Vampire Lord responds, feigning ignorance as he steals a moment to prepare himself for the conversation.
So it was true, the Vampire Lord never responded; in his pride and delusions of grandeur, he could never bring himself to reply to the woman that had abandoned him. She had broken his heart and destroyed his ego when she refused his offers and then ran from the city, far away from him. Could she really blame him?
Every message reminded Astarion of the pain she’d inflicted on his heart, which he’d tried so desperately to forget. He’d refused to admit that a simple sorceress had caused the most powerful vampire in Faerun nearly two decades of hurt and anguish.
He never responded, but he had every message, and the sound of her voice, committed to memory. Astarion’s eyes glaze over as the recollections flood him.
The first message arrived a few weeks after she left the city.
“Hi Star. Made it to Halsin’s. The Shadowlands look different. It’s beautiful. Come see what we did, your imagination won’t do it justice.”
That had felt like a stake to the heart. At the time, he was certain Eirianwen had been intentionally trying to goad him, since the first person she ran to after their relationship ended had been her other lover.
Then, three months later, another message.
“Hi Star. We are building a school for the kids. We could use your vampiric strength, if you’re willing to lend a hand.”
No. Absolutely not. He refused to show up and watch Halsin and Eirianwen as the picture of happiness and domesticity. If she wanted to move on, so be it; he did not have to witness it or pretend to be happy for her.
Followed by another message, about six months later.
“Hi Star. Shadowheart and Lae’zel are getting married at the end of this month. They asked me to invite you.”
Again, absolutely not, he knew that Shadowheart was Eirianwen’s best friend, and suspected the cleric loathed him deeply. Better he spares them both from the charade.
Another message, approximately one year later.
“Hi Astarion. I’m off to explore the wilds again. Let me know if you’re interested in pursuing another adventure, for old times' sake.”
The offer had been tempting, but he’d been on the brink of gaining monopoly over the shipping industry. Stepping away would have been disastrous to all his efforts, and he had spent several years here building a life without her. The fact that she expected him to drop everything for her after all this time was ridiculous.
Then, her final message, roughly one year after the last.
“Scratch died today. I know you loved him, even though you pretended you didn’t. This will be my last message, Astarion. Hope you’re well.”
Shortly after that, the magical glow from the sending stone disappeared. Ani had smashed her half of the set. That had been the only time the Vampire Ascendant had allowed himself to shed any tears over the broken bond between them. After that, his heart had callused over entirely, and he vowed to never let anyone else in again.
A rough bump in the road causes the wagon to jolt, knocking the sorceress into the Ascendant. Eirianwen instinctively grips onto his arm to steady herself, forcing Astarion from his daydream. He flinches in surprise at the sudden contact, and she whispers an apology before shifting away.
Umber is staring at Astarion. He’s convinced the cat is judging him.
“What do you want me to say?” The pale elf murmurs, his tone dejected.
“The truth.” She responds quietly, reaching forward to pet Umber, in an effort to distract herself. The cat purrs in delight and closes its green eyes.
“Ani, surely you must know that when you left…” The Vampire Lord starts, looking down at his hands where he’s fidgeting with the signet ring once more.
‘I was heartbroken.’
“It wasn’t easy for me.” He finishes, forcing the words out in another tight tone. The effort to spit out the truth hurt his jaw; that was the most vulnerability he could allow himself.
Eirianwen sighs. Umber’s purrs fill the silence, and both the elves sit in the fog of their thoughts and the uncomfortable air of unspoken conversations. The woman sits back up and turns to face the Vampire Lord, furrowing her brow slightly.
Astarion forces himself to meet her eyes. He suddenly realizes how close the sorceress is in the confines of the carriage, and the proximity causes his heart to pound within his chest. He cannot bring himself to speak, so he simply focuses on her eyes. They are soft and round with something akin to concern, and the final flares of sunlight are captured in the iris.
Her eyes look like home.
The elves are staring at one another. The air inside the carriage has grown so thick with tension. Astarion can hardly bring himself to breathe, and Eirianwin feels the metaphorical sprites fluttering in her stomach. Neither of them realize the carriage has stopped.
“Astarion I–” The sorceress begins, but she startles and the words die on her lips as the door to the caravan rips open, revealing an irritated Wyll standing at the foot of the stairs with an exuberant Jaheira.
The druid is beaming, muscular arms folded across her chest. Her eyebrow is raised in entertainment. When Jaheira speaks, her tone is warm and filled to the brim with delight, “I never thought I would live to see the day when you two chose to grace the Remembrance Society with your presence. Welcome, oh holy saviors of Baldur’s Gate!”
Eirianwen practically flies out of the carriage, squealing ecstatically as she envelops the older woman in a crushing hug. Umber is quick to follow the sorceress. A flurried exchange of greetings ensues, and then the two women walk off without more than a glance back at the Duke and the Ascendant.
Jaheira guides the sorceress up the steps of the venue as they begin updating one another about their lives.
Wyll and Astarion are all but forgotten, left side by side. The two men barely glance at one another before following after the women without a word.

What's your big opinion on every Sonic character don't skip any detail
Dude, do you know how many sonic characters are there?
Like a lot. So im gonna keep it on the main ones LOLL
Maybe i'll add to this tho. We'll see.
Tumblr media
HERE WE GO!!
Sonic: He's my favourite character of all times! Such a funky fella. I love his way of thinking, (as in everyone deserves second chances and freedom is important) and of acting, with the whole attitude. He gives me a sense of freedom that i haven't felt from any other media at all! Its quite impressive honestly. I could write pages upon pages on how Sonic as a character is like the peak of literature in my eyes, but this post would get way too long. In summary tho, i like almost every aspect of Sonic the Character.
Tails: The baby! I also really love tails! I think his role as a sideckick is very endearing, and is a great balance to sonic in all possible ways. One problem with modern Tails, though. He's portrayed as a coward. And like??? That's not who he is?? Like C'mon sega.
Knuckles: He don't chuckle!! Final part of team Sonic, and Sonic's first rival! I really like the knucklehead. But as is the norm, Sega screwed him up badly on Boom. I despise that they're supposed to be the same Knuckles. Because they're not. I like Boom Knuckles, as his own character, but granted, Boom is an acquired taste.
Amy: Honorary part of team sonic! I love her! Mostly on the IDW Comics. I think they handle her excellently in there. I know that Amy is a hated character by the fanbase because most say that her only purpose is to be the "girl character love interest" and i can agree up to some point in some games, but in IDW she's sooo much better. We stan IDW Sonic.
Shadow: Yet another case of Sega making character assassination. Shadow's like, one of the most complex sonic characters there are, If not THE most complex one. And i love that! Though im very sad that Sega hasn't been able to replicate that SA2 Magic quite as well. Will SonicXShadow (heh) give him justice? Stay tuned.
Rouge: MY GIRL!! Ok so controversial opinion, Rouge's my second favourite sonic character, just because i think its hilarious that she (once) was the leader of team Dark. So She commanded a killing machine and An alien experiment. What a girlboss! 10/10 Character.
Omega: Gotta be honest, not much of an omega fan. But i really like his dynamic w/Rouge and Shadow. It's pretty sweet that they become friens :)
Cream: The other baby! I think she's the sweetest character. Like fr. I really want to see her more often on the games! Though i get why in recent games she hasn't appeared. Suddenly the adventures got way too serious. Still want her back in the games though!
Blaze: Fire princess! I fr am so salty that she isn't as much in the games. Like, what gives? She's such a successful character (With good reason btw) and you arent like, putting her in the stage?? outrageous. But yeah, i really Like Blaze. Her contrast and similarities with sonic are great! They make a great duo too.
Silver: The sweetest most unhinged boi in the sonic canon. I find it very funny that in his first appearance he was all angsty and stuff, but now he's full on optimism and sunshine. I love the juxtaposition on that behalf. Boi is cute but he can mess you up.
The Chaotix: Oh i love the found family trope. Espio's my fave for sure. He's the funny ninja, what else do you want? Though Vector and Charmy are great too. Vector has such a cool ass dad vibe. And Charmy... is Charmy. if yk yk.
AAAAND I think i'll leave it there. Should i include someone else? lmk.
Thanks for the ask!

Spider-verse, but Nightwing
OK I once saw a comment somewhere which went along the lines of...
"I wish Dc would give us a animation-like Spiderverse of Nightwing"
and at first i kind of ignored it- cuz idk, i don't really care about Nightwing- I mean, i love him! He's great, but not one of my favorite batfamily members.
BUT THEN I REALIZED THE OTHER CHARACTERS WOULD BE THERE TOO
so, here's what i think a Spiderverse movie would be like,
(If the plot was similar)
Nightwing- Obv he's Miles Morales, the main character!
Gwen- OK, the love interest. So we have three main competitors for fan favorite ships! Dick/Wally, Dick/Barbara, and Dick/Kori! Now one of them is already cancelled by default, because Dc is a coward, so we only have Barbara and Kori left! and well, Barbara fits Gwen's personality much more than Kori, and that paired with the fact that DC favors DickBabs in general, WE HAVE A WINNER!
SpiderVerse- okay, this is where it starts to lean a bit away from the movies and a bit from the comics; Spiderverse is now the Court of Owls! My headcannon is that for some reason all vigilantes (minus Batman and one other person, u will find out) join the court of owls thinking it has the right idea, and then BOOM its not actually that good (it kills people it can't control). BUT its not that wrong either. When it figures out what its doing wrong, it starts helping the vigilantes against the real evil, which is...
Spot- The league of assassins :)) YES I KNOW, IT ISN'T REALLY A MAIN VILLAIN of Nightwing's, but STILL, it's too good of a opportunity to give up seeing Ra's and Talia in the movie.
Miles Parents- Bruce and Selina, obviously. I think Jefferson's personality as a parent is PERFECT for Bruce-emotionally-constipated-dad! Selina is Bruce's wife, obv, BUT there is one change here...Y'know that scene where Rio gives Miles that 'your un-grounded" talk? I think it would be Wally giving Nightwing a super cool heartwarming speech (it won't be the same though) and then turned out Selina was listening to it all and at the end is just like "sigh, ok, you're ungrounded, come back soon, i'll deal with Bruce."
NOW FOR THE REST OF THE BATFAMILY MEMBER'S
Tim Drake- DRUM ROLL PLEASE, Hobie Brown! Hobie's smart, and while his personality might be a bit too much....It's still perfect for the role Tim would be playing. Hobie doesn’t trust the Court, and at the end he’s the one who had everything prepared for when they realise that the Court Of Owls is wrong!
Stephanie Brown- AND SHE'S GOING TO BE OUR FAV CINNAMON ROLL, Pavitr Prabhakar. And as much as it pains me as a Pakistani to remove his Indian heritage, it must be done. He's goofy, he ships the two main characters, and is just adorable, he's perfect for Stephanie, and will definitely give her justice.
Cassandra Cain- Sadly, Cass is going to have a less prominent role in the second movie, but hopefully she shows up more in the third; Margo Kess! the scene where she lets Miles go is perfect, because she can detect body language and would understand that Nightwing is right, and Miguel is planning on hurting him.
Damian Wayne- FINALLY MY FAV CHARACTER, but this one is more of a original character instead of a already made character in the movie; Damian is going to be the person Dick has to save. Because i love their dynamic. So, Damian is probably being manipulated by LoA, and idk maybe Ra's is trying to use him as a body vessel without Damian knowing, and the court of owls needs him dead because "HES A WILD CARD" but Dick just NEEDS to save him "BECAUSE THAT'S MY BROTHER, DAMN YOU, IM NOT LETTING ANOTHER ONE DIE" and cue everyone fighting LoA and then a wholesome Dick and Dami scene; Feel free to elaborate on it.
Jason Todd- I had to think a lot for this, but i have a PERFECT answer; Uncle Aaron. ITS SAD AND WILL BREAK HEARTS BUT ITS PERFECT, HELP- The relationship with Jefferson? check. Dies? check. What more do we need?
a happy and alive Jason
Hey! Maybe he comes back when hey go to save Damian! Actually, yes, that is 100% the plot. They find Jason revived at the league and save him :3
Duke Thomas- I CANT FIND A CHARACTER FOR DUKE BUT HE HAS TO BE HERE DAMN IT- please either come up with a original character for Duke or find a already made character PLEASE.

you’ve trapped me in coroika punkrock hell and now i need to know ur hcs/scenarios abt it
Losing my mind (positive),,,, Thank you so much for this ask. I hope you'll enjoy your time in PunkRock hell
I like that Clams and Rider have a lot in common but are opposites in ways as well. They’re both “tSuNdErE” edgelords But one is an (aggressively) good kid who would decline but thank you for your friendly offers and the other would curbstomp you if you get in his way (AKA he would actively push you away). Anger is both their main expression But one is very expressive in general while the other has a resting bitch face. They’re both goth But one is more specifically punk. They both visibly obsessively train on that RISE & GRIND💪😤‼️ routine But One mains a lightweight weapon covering the ground in ink while the other Murders with a heavy weapon.
Sidenote: I like to defend heavy mains on my team as an Aerospray cuz they tend to get targeted often and can’t react quick enough to flankers. They can go on a Splatting spree while I cover the floor and stack up victory points. If I slapped these two idiots on this scenario this strat would be in-character for Clams since a big part of his team’s shtick is them having each other’s backs. I also like the “mutually protective” element there.
Neither of them seem to be the type to be very vocal about love. So a romantic relationship would be extremely awkward at first. Clim could give a smooch and Ride goes “bro that’s gay” and Clammy’s like “THAT’S THE POINT YOU IDIOT”. And then they don’t make eye contact for a week. Or Raider could literally just smile and Clambert faints and dies. They are very bad at this. But they will get better and open up more (when alone).
Hilariously enough I like to imagine that the relationship evolves the same way my feelings towards the pair did overtime. At first I thought nothing of it then I was all like “mmm edgy squids” as a joke but bro... I don’t think it’s a joke anymore. At first they’d see each other strictly as rivals. I can see mutual respect with Rider being ranked S+ which Clams would likely aspire to be. And Clams valuing teamwork and trust is something Rider needed a whole character arc to learn and likely still needs to improve. They would realize they have a lot in common they can agree on and bond over. And a Good rivalry would encourage them to work even harder and learn from each other. From there I guess it gets sus. But it’d take a while for them to admit how they feel to themselves, let alone to each other.
Which brings me to one issue... Neither of them would be the type to make advances. If any progress is made it’d likely be accidental. Maybe one of them gets caught listening to Splatoonified MCR and the other goes “Yo is that Splatoonified MCR” and both of them in their heads go “This mf is Not straight”. They’d require some scenario pushing them to open up and maybe non-verbally confess otherwise they’ll just keep it to themselves.
Sidenote: I also like PartyPunk (Aloha & Clams) so in my stupid little head Aloha would play a wingman-type role as someone who is much more comfortable with that kinda thing as opposed to the other two Cowards. But this is not about PartyPunkRock so that’s for another time.
Speaking of scenarios. I'm a sucker for the Tending to Wounds scenario. They can battle (for no reason) until Rider gets wounded and Clams abruptly cuts the battle like “OH NO I AM SO SORRY”. Rider goes “Naw I’m good come at me bro” and Clams is like “WTF NO?” Cut to Clamlet tending to Ridr’s wounds switching between apologizing repeatedly for causing the wound and scolding him for disregarding his own injuries. Meanwhile Riddlr is just sitting there slightly embarassed like “bruh I can do this myself”.
Another one I had in mind for a while but I don’t want to spoil too much cuz I wanted to make it a proper art post. But remember when Rider wore a sick knight costume. He’s not very knightly character-wise but it looked cool. Clams however would fit the role perfectly. What if they were both rocking the knight drip... That is all I will say.
I think that’s all for me. Thank you for reading my excessive neurodivergent infodumping. Below is an embarrassing doodle as a treat. I am very touched others like my unusual pairing :)

OK, post timeskip GD, go!
Got up to the bridge, which means unifying the Alliance and presumably starting an offensive against the Empire.
I've gotten all the B ranks on my supports, a bunch of A ranks, and all of Byleth's available ones except Lysithea A (which is blocked off) and someone's S. The A ranks really vary a lot in terms of how involved they are, with some being quite nice, but others being pretty whatever.
Unfortunately, some of the basic issues with the support system start to get pretty obvious. You end up doing them in batches, so they get tiring. Additionally, if you watch a few for the same character in a row, there's often overlap in what they discuss, since the characters only have a few traits. Worse, none of the growth in one support can carry over to another or even a paralogue (or to the main story). The supports just become disconnected what-ifs, in a way.
(And this not mentioning the issue that some major character details always end up hidden in the most out there support, which in 3H will require some bizarre recruitment combination.)
In regard to the main story, I don't have too much to say. It's kind of spinning its wheels while we get the new plot on the road, but it's fine. It's just... fine. Hopefully, it'll pick up once we start the real battles.
Notes again:
1185, nearly 5 years since the monastery fell. But it fell several months into 1181, so like... it's 4 years and change.
Kingdom capital has fallen, Leicester alliance is split between supporting the Church and the Empire.
Sothis is here again somehow.
Tomorrow is the Millennium Festival, how convenient. Byleth came floating down a river from Garreg Mach. It is Ethereal Moon, but... Which one is that again...
Ok, I see why AC said the reunion was underwhelming. It's cute but the buildup is non-existent.
Byleth's first concern is Rhea (relatable) but Claude thinks it might be better that she's gone. He doesn't explain why. I am gonna need some time to get used to everyone's adult voices.
Lorenz is quite chill about his father's uh allegiance.
Lorenz: This was inevitable, since our lands are so close to the empire, we have to side with them or lose our necks. Lorenz also: BUT MAYBE IF CLAUDE DIDN'T SUCK
The amount of times you can ask after Rhea is... hum. Rhea is the most personal priority for Byleth. They're definitely not upset or unsettled by her, which is funny.
Seteth thought that maybe Rhea would turn up on the millennium festival.
Claude wanted to use the monastery as a base of operations due to its location.
Why are we talking to this Seiros Knight NPC? Was an unavailable playable meant to be filling this role?
Leonie A1 with Lorenz: she gives back a handkerchief... after 5 years. Leonie's village is called Sauin. It turns out Lorenz's family were the ones who hired Jeralt to help the village all those years ago. Lorenz is still punchable, btw.
Marianne A with Hilda: Their previous two ranks were more abrasive than I expected. The A is... OK? Given their popularity as a pairing, I expected something a bit more.
Cyril A with Hilda: This doesn't feel like it should have been gated to the timeskip. This A is also kinda underwhelming. It's okay, but knowing their relationship can't advance any further is... yeah.
Not really feeling the new monastery and menu music.
They did at least change the skybox to be yellow, which is something. Makes it feel autumn-y, which is... not correct. It would be nice if somewhere aside from the cathedral interior had some visible damage.
Claude A with Byleth: He admits to not being born in Fodlan (presumably because this has nothing on Byleth being potentially not even human) though doesn't name where he's from specifically. In Almyra, people from Fodlan are viewed as cowards, which Claude attributes to ignorance (if they just met and interacted with real people from Fodlan, like his mother, they'd know better). They also looked down on him for being of mixed blood.
He came to Fodlan to try and find "a new perspective" in his goal of breaking down those barriers, but people in Fodlan are even more racist, seeing people from other nations as just beasts. He wants to bring the whole world together and start anew. I know nothing bad happens, but uh. That's, hm... At least he realizes that it was extremely unrealistic... but Claude recognizes Byleth's magic dragon god powers and thinks they can make it happen together.
At first, I was wondering why we can view Ferdinand supports when he didn't turn up, but he IS here? He wasn't in the battle or the scene after...
Ferdinand has lost his territory and is determined to stop Edelgard no matter the cost. Per his B, he always intended to unseat his father. I guess, like Lorenz, he wasn't really onboard with his evil dad from the start.
Marianne and Lorenz A is....... uh. She's not going to smile while telling you about how her family is cursed, dude.
OK, so for weekly Instruct, we're using the Cardinals' room that was sealed before, and instead of the faculty giving staff training, we run advanced drills with the students.
Byleth's open mouthed shock when told Dimitri was killed (supposedly). And then a droopy sad posture.
"Faerghus Dukedom"
Claude approves if you ask him whether he hopes Rhea is dead. He just has things he wants to ask. It's interesting given that Claude presents himself as being in your corner, and Byleth has a big bend toward asking after her, seemingly in concern.
Claude thinks that most people accept the "noble system" because of their belief in the Seiros faith. They also have prejudices against non-believers too. That's... hm. A take, for sure.
So without Rhea, the supposed closed-minded Church doctrine will weaken and there will be more room for free thought, which Claude considers a cure-all.
Claude's ultimate goal here is to have Byleth take over the church and lead Fodlan that way. Then, people could be free to think for themselves. He thinks Edelgard is after something similar. He just doesn't like that she's using so much bloodshed to get there. Not necessarily because he disapproves but because the world "can't get behind" it.
But since Rhea is probably still around, we still have questions, and Byleth ambiguously might care about her (MY A RANK), Claude backpedals into finding her being the next step and quickly hurries you off to bed.
Claude and Cyril B: Claude never knew that there were people in Almyra in Cyril's situation. Which is to say... poor and exploited? Or...?
If no one else is in Rhea's corner, Cyril is. I appreciate that he doesn't just support her because she helped him personally, but because that's the kind of person she has been - trying to help those without any status and nowhere to go. Rhea helps refugees and orphans not just because of the goddess's teachings, but because it's the right thing to do.
Claude: OK, maybe Rhea is fine. Maybe.
GROWTH??
Too bad supports are basically not canon.
Claude and Lorenz A: Claude is fine giving up leadership of the Alliance to Lorenz now that he's gotten to know him. But same is true for Lorenz. Kinda gay. Not bad.
Claude was only recognized as the heir to Reigan thanks to Judith's recommendation. Which is interesting given his background.
Marianne's paralogue: One of the 10 Elites got cursed by his crest and he turned into a monster... that was still sentient and can talk. And he ate people. Unclear if anyone else with the crest was actually affected, or if they just carried that stigma for a thousand years...
Claude and Marianne A has an interesting implication about the timeline. Claude frames it as him running away from home as soon as he was old enough because he was tired of being discriminated against and hoped that Fodlan would be better. It was only after he arrived in Leicester and realized that it's no different that he came up with his idea to break down the boundaries between Fodlan and Almyra.
It makes more sense that his plan would be so weirdly underbaked if he's had it for less than a year and made it when he was despairing over having no place he could belong.
Flayn and Ignatz B: Flayn forgets the Church party line about the Elites being good guys, lmao. Also forgets that Saint Cethleann is generally portrayed as a woman, not a girl.
Ailell, the Valley of Torment, is the required lava stage. It was created when some kind of big heaven light destroyed the forest that used to be there. It's rumored to have been the wrath of the goddess, but that isn't recorded in scripture. (It's actually the Agarthans lol)
Count Rowe was in charge of Arianhodr (spl??) but betrayed the Kingdom to join the Empire. His general, Gwendal, wasn't happy about all this.
Judith accuses Claude of neglecting the Alliance territories for years. He left his territory with a reliable retainer ("Nardel"). Without Byleth's clout, he'd look like a "scoundrel leader." Judith leaves her territory with "Nardel" too, which is... lol.
One of Judith's men saw Rhea be dragged off by the Empire five years ago.

I fucking dare you to infodump Inception lore I dare you, do it coward
🫵👁️👁️
Be me: (loves hearing my friends infodump about things they care about)
You've opened a can of multi-layered worms, my friend.
I'm gonna talk about the Hallway Scene. Have I told you about the Hallway Scene? It's on the second level, in the hotel, and they've missed the first drop. The first drop was supposed to be when the van one layer up went off the bridge, but they didn't time it right so now they're in freefall and that means there's just no fucking gravity on the second layer.
None.
Shit's floating everywhere, people are floating everywhere, my guy Arthur's floating everywhere while in the middle of a fight.
But here's the thing about that: this movie is live action and it's fucking 2010. They can't CGI this and make it look good. And they can't have bad CGI cause it's a big-budget slick sci-fi action movie and ya boi Chris is not gonna settle for shitty CGI. So what do they do? They build three fucking identical hallways. There's the main set, another that's on its side like a big tube, and a third that fucking SPINS. And you're gonna say "well Cam, that's not revolutionary, they did that for Space Odyssey in like the early 60s" well did they make a guy float in the 60s? I don't know I haven't seen Space Odyssey. I don't think they did though.
Anyway. On top of that, there's also a room that spins, which is way harder to deal with cause it's so much bigger and there's way more space to just fucking fall.
So with their three spatially fucked sets, they're ready to film. They call up Joseph Gordon Levit's go-to stuntman and- SIKE! There's no stuntman. It's all him. They just fucking put JGL through the spin cycle and he made it look SO COOL. And weak-ass Leonardo DiCaprio had a stunt double for his role of "pretend to be asleep and get floated around on some wires" lmao. Imagine asking for a stunt double for that after hearing the guy playing your sidekick did THAT. I would simply die. And if you're wondering why I'm not mocking Elliot Page for the same shit, it's because I like him and I do not like dicaprio.
Anyway. You asked me about lore and I am so sorry for going off about the technical bits it's just like my favorite practical effect ever and I take every opportunity to talk about it.
In terms of lore, I never see anyone talk about this but I'm obsessed with how much they change the world? Like obviously there's the scene where Ariadne bends Paris in half like a sandwich and then makes a bridge out of mirrors, and it's immediately shown why you Shouldn't Fucking Do That (see: stab wound), but later we see Eames bend reality so casually all the time.
He changes his own appearance several times, and at one point pulls a grenade launcher out of absolutely nowhere like goddamn Bugs Bunny. And it's fascinating to me as a character detail.
Now that I'm thinking about it, Cobb, Arthur, and Eames all ensure control over their very tricky environments in such interesting ways. Like Cobb tries to control his wife, mentally bringing her back from the dead, trapping her as a shade in his memory. This backfires spectacularly, becoming the main conflict of the movie.
More subtly, we see Arthur's need for control in his appearance (they're thieves in an abandoned warehouse, he doesn't need to wear a waistcoat and keep his hair perfectly jelled all the damn time) and his fondness for paradoxes like the infinite staircase. He needs to have the upper hand on his opponent at all times Just In Case.
Eames, by comparison, seems way more chill, generally a "go with the flow" kinda guy, but I feel like he relies on his tricks a lot. He casually manipulates people, gives himself an extra weapon, probably cheats at poker. I think he's just as messed up as the rest of them.
So putting aside Cobb's severe everything, I wanna look at Arthur and Eames. We learn very little about any of the characters aside from Cobb, but what little we do learn can be built on to form vague yet cohesive backstories.
Arthur is ex-military. My evidence being some of his speech patterns, his knowledge of dreamshare tech as a military tool, his experience with it that implies he's been at it for a long time (it hasn't existed for very long), and his apparent need for organization and order.
In contrast, Eames is a con artist. We first see him playing poker in a dingy bar, his whole job is to lie and manipulate people, and he keeps a sloppy, unprofessional appearance that's probably really good for making people underestimate him.
Both are highly skilled, very experienced, and shown to be good at improvising when shit goes down. Honestly, I think they make Cobb look like an absolute fool most of the time. He's like the guy from Teen Titans who doesn't have any powers and just says "Teen Titans go!" instead of doing shit. I don't like him very much in case you haven't noticed. Cobb, that is. I'm pretty neutral about Robin.
Anyway. Good Movie.

Hbomb’s biggest strength and weakness is that he’s genuinely a nice person.
H is very community-oriented. He joined the server to make friends. He spent hours mining to build an Ancient Debris wall for everyone to take for free. He is, in general, one of the most peaceful person on the server, choosing to be neutral/away from most big war and conflicts. His most prominent love language seems to be gift-giving, evident in the ancient debris wall, the Christmas presents, and that he gave Niki most of his possessions when he went away. He is willing to spend time and effort in the people he cares about, and even the people who he isn’t that close to. His philosophy is truly “choose people”: he will fight for his friends, as he evident in him fighting alongside Eret and Puffy in the El Rapids conflict, and his support for Niki’s during doomsday. H chose his friends, chose their sides, despite most other things.
This community, people-oriented part of Hbomb was also why his pre-doomsday stream was heartbreaking. The scene where he, one of the friendliest and nicest person one the server, said “I’m done putting effort in people” was one of the scene that showcased the hopelessness of that entire day. That scene, that switch from his usual cheerful, caring personality to this sad, despondent mood, really hit home that the Dream SMP, at that point, had no community nor hope.  For H, who chooses and fights for the people he cared about, could not fight for a country he was not a part of, could not fight for the community of L’Manberg (and of the server as a whole). He wasn’t part of that community, not to mention that the “community” was already broken. The Dream SMP was no longer the community H was looking to be a part of, and that was heartbreaking to both his character, and the viewers who watched his stream.
This characteristic also made H’s decision to leave the DSMP territory bittersweet. H was not a violent person, he was just nice. He was hurt by other people, he was overlooked and forgotten. He was, in his own word, “bullied”. He had the rights to feel hurt and unappreciated, and he could very well leave a place that was unhealthy for him and find somewhere new. But by doing this, he also isolated himself from the only source, the only hope of community on the server as far as he knew. H couldn’t bring himself to fully did that. So he contacted Niki, the only active member who he still had a tie to, gave her all his things, and let her come with him when he found a new place. He wanted to start anew completely, but still could not fully leave everything behind. Niki was his one string connected to the Dream SMP’s lands, and he did not want to let that string go. He ventured into a place where no players had came, knowing he would not find player friends, so he tamed animals, calling them his friends and naming them after the people from the server. (He has a cat named Ant, a donkey named Clay(ton), and another cat named Toby). He protected the villagers with an almost desperation that spoke to his state of mind after seeing so much death and destruction. H might have wanted to leave,he wasn’t ready to let go.
H hanging onto his sense of community, even when he was disappointed and hurt by the people of the DSMP, was one of the best thing about his character. He was not obliged to forgive the people who hurt him, and he didn’t. But he did heal, and after a while, he grew even closer to Niki, found new friends in Foolish, and even mended his relationship with Ponk. Hbomb was the evidence that we always gravitate toward each other, and that healing and community can be found with each other. Hbomb’s arc showed that you could leave an unhealthy place, and you would be sad for a while, but ultimately, healing is possible, community and bonding is possible. H is friendly and community-oriented, and that makes his story both heartbreaking and heartwarming.
However, it is also his worst quality. H, with his “niceness”, doesn’t want to start conflict himself. He will help his friends in their fight, but he will not start his own. He is nice and community-oriented, which means he will act in a way that makes people happy and preserves peace.  He is the opposite of confrontational, and while being peaceful has it merits, it also means H avoids confronting people he disagrees with. This trait brings him into a pretty passive role in any conflicts on the Dream SMP, more following others than taking an active role in any conflict himself. In his personal interactions with other people, this passivity is shown especially with how he deals with Niki and Tommy. When Niki wanted to hurt Tommy as a way to lash out in grief and anger, her philosophy of “doing bad deeds against bad deeds” was directly opposite to H’s “doing good to get good in return”. He expressed his disagreement, but when Niki doesn’t listen, he doesn’t push any further. He knew she was wrong, but he did not want to call her out or confront her. H was too loyal to his friends, too nice to them, that he was willing to let harmful/unhealthy behaviors slide.
H’s approach to Tommy, while he was not H’s friends, was also conflict avoidance. Tommy is not a perfect character, and his action and the way he talked to H clearly hurt him. H had reasons to be wary of Tommy, and that is valid. On the server, there are typically 2 ways people handle conflicts with Tommy. The first way, the approach Dream, Techno, and most other characters took, was to resort to violence and punishments. They fought Tommy, exiled him, and tried to control him as a way to “make him learn”. It almost never worked the way it intended to. The second way, the approach Sam and Puffy took, was to educate. They assumed a gentle, but firm role model in Tommy’s life, and it worked. Their approach showed that Tommy was capable of learning and changing. While completely opposite, both of these approaches had the common theme of proactive reactions, as they all took matter into their own hand and act. H, on the other hand, was passive, electing to stay silent and leave instead of confronting Tommy about Tommy’s behavior. And while it was completely valid to leave someone who hurt you, it also meant that the problem would not get resolved. The same thing can be said with his relationship with the people on the server as a whole, because while the server was quite a hostile place and everyone was not the most attentive friend/neighbor, H’s passivity was also partly responsible for him being overlooked.
H knew this about himself. He knew that he was not confrontational or fighty. He called himself a coward during his pre-doomsday stream. Because of his nature to avoid conflict, and because his philosophy is truly “choose people” (and by extension choose his people’s side), he does not fight for a “greater” good, at least that will not be his ultimate goal. He does not fight for those who are not “his” people. That is why he didn’t see, during doomsday, why fighting Dream was necessary. That is why he didn’t see Dream’s tyranny and want to fight against it. He said he was willing to give in to Dream’s demands, because it was better than keep fighting him. Again, he was more willing to surrender than fight.
From this, H’s appearance in the finale actually showed a (temporary) switch in the server’s connection. H’s change of heart, where he came for Tommy and Tubbo (even though he still did not forgive Tommy) was a pivotal moment that showed that there was still hope of people coming together. As fractioned as it was in the aftermath, as fractioned as it was when the fighting was done and Dream was in prison, for a while, the whole server had a purpose: Tommy and Tubbo, for their willingness to die for each other, for their hope even when all hopes seemed to be gone, had inspired another hope in the server that temporarily turned them into a community again. That, was what bring Hbomb to fight against Dream, to fight for Tommy and Tubbo. Hbomb’s joining the fight even when he had left the main area, was a contrast to him staying on the sideline during doomsday. It was the contrast between the presence and lack of community and shared purpose.
TL,DR: Hbomb94 is a community-oriented character, and watching his lore showed us the contrast between having hope and connection and not having them. His community-oriented personality is also his best and worst characteristics because he is wholesome but also avoids conflict too much.

Iron Lord Saladin Forge
Season of the Lost dropped some major lore about Saladin and I love every piece of it so I will make a huge post detailing stuff about and what's important.
The lore is on Iron Banner armour which you can see in-game when you go to the armour section. The lore is the same on each class so it doesn't matter which one you read. It's in the order of how armour is set, so helmet -> arm piece -> chest piece -> leg piece -> class item. There's some extras on Iron banner weapons that I'll add as well.
The rest under the cut due to length and also spoilers!
I'll link to the Hunter gear because I'm a dirty Hunter main and I read it from there and that's what I have open because I couldn't remember the names for other two classes, but the lore is the same on all of them. The set is called Iron Forerunner.
We haven't really had any substantial Saladin lore in D2 besides few lore pieces from Chosen and Splicer. Not nearly enough I think, especially since he wasn't properly introduced in D2 at all and it was kinda assumed that everyone would know about him from the Rise of Iron expansion in D1. He had plenty of voice lines, but with no real context. His voice lines in Season of the Chosen were interesting, but also made a lot of people think he's a bad person and a warmongering coward who sat on his butt during the Red War and was then preaching action for action's sake.
The situation is obviously more complex, but I've always said that it's Bungie fault for not explaining more about him prior to his involvement in the Season of the Chosen. Well, now we got some really interesting information at last!
Anyway, helmet first!
Flavour text:
"Some know the legend. We threw ourselves on the blades of tyranny so others may live free." —Lord Saladin
This is referencing the Iron Lords' fight against the Warlords in the Dark Age. Saladin is heavily influenced by his time in the Dark Age. It seems like some really old Guardians never get over the trauma of living through that (Drifter is another example). Side note: this could also be referencing the battle against SIVA since Rasputin is also known as "The Tyrant." It's not fully relevant tho, as Saladin was equally affected by both periods in his life.
This first entry details something we don't really think about when it comes to Guardians: death. It's a temporary thing with them so it doesn't really matter. But Saladin recounts how he remembers his deaths and how each one felt. Despite the fact that he will be brought back, the pain and struggle of dying are very real. There is also the associated trauma of the realisation that you will go through this over and over and over:
He laughed when his Ghost reassembled him. Then, he cried.
It's not something mentioned often, and definitely wasn't a point raised with Saladin. It gives some context to how seriously he takes combat, training and the lives of his fellow Guardians.
Saladin remembers the day he stopped counting deaths. "Something about you is different," Jolder had said, and put her hand on his.
This explains that his worldview of the role of Lightbearers changed the moment he was invited to become an Iron Lord. It's also important to remember that he loved Lady Jolder very much (in whichever way you want to interpret it) and that watching her make the choice to die a final death has had a heavy impact on him.
Saladin remembers all this and more when he looks at the Crow. He feels rage form a hot pit in his belly when Osiris tells him about the young Lightbearer's suffering at the hands of his fellow Guardians. Osiris asks him if he can keep a secret.
"I don't like secrets," Saladin says, and that's the end of it.
Saladin doesn't really say this during Chosen and his interactions with Crow, but it's evident from this that he cares deeply about the young Light who suffered in ways Saladin only remembers people suffering during the Dark Age. It's also important to note that the Osiris he speaks to here is Savathun. Saladin seems to be uniquely unaffected by Savathun's schemes. This will repeat itself again later.
Second, arms piece.
Flavour text:
"Some know the legend. We were forged in the fires of a burning world." —Lord Saladin
Same thing as before. Referencing the post-Collapse Dark Age. The lore tab details a really tragic story of the Iron Lords burying bodies, including the implication of Saladin burying the body of a child. He recalls that these people were victims of Fallen Raiders.
"It's a vicious circle," Efrideet had said as she tied off a funeral shroud with great care. Saladin remembers the bundle being very small. "One day, I'm going to break it."
Saladin remembers how easily the body fit in his arms, how light it felt as he laid it in the grave. He remembers, with shame, pretending not to hear Efrideet's words so he wouldn't need to respond to them.
He remembers not having anything kind to say.
He obviously regrets not having a stronger stance on this in the past. Where Efrideet seems to have always been keen on ending the cycle of violence, he clearly thought differently and is now ashamed of it. This transitions into more about his relation to Crow:
Saladin remembers all this and more whenever the Crow talks back to him. Sometimes, he bites down on the inside of his cheek. Sometimes, he looks up to find his Ghost focused on him with a knowing look.
He doesn't say anything to his Ghost either.
Because Crow was saying things that reminded him of Efrideet. Breaking the cycles of violence, extending a friendly hand, not treating everyone like an enemy. It's evident that this turmoil is still inside of him as someone who spent most of his time fighting for survival, only to be told by those younger than him that there's a way out of that war. It's a very common struggle of people dealing with trauma and specifically PTSD to not be able to imagine and/or live in a world of peace and to outright reject the possibility of peace ever existing. Saladin is very clearly dealing with that and here, we see it from his own POV: despite sometimes being harsh to Crow, there were times when he chose to say nothing because deep down he knows that Crow is right. Accepting that is a long process though.
Third, chest piece.
Flavour text:
"Some know the legend. We rose from the ashes of a dying world to save humanity from itself." —Lord Saladin
Same again, but this is an interesting way to phrase it. He's talking about humanity being a danger to itself, not about any external threat. Ultimately, the Traveler's gift was the first thing that harmed humanity post-Collapse, despite later being the thing that saved it.
This leads into Saladin's thoughts on the Red War, something we've been sorely missing for a very long time.
Saladin remembers losing his connection to the Light. He remembers thinking that the Traveler must have discovered his most secret doubts; the darkest thoughts he shared with no one—not even his Ghost. He remembers the strange sense of relief that had washed over him until his radio crackled to life just moments later.
His deepest secret? Probably that Light is a burden. When he lost the connection to the Light, he specifically thought it had only happened to him and then felt relief. Freedom from the eternal war he has to keep waging. I'm sure he feels incredible shame for thinking it would be better to just lose the Light and die a final death, but alas, he is bound by duty. Especially a Titan's duty.
He stands there thinking about it for a while before finally deciding to embrace that duty. And now we know what he was doing during the Red War:
"Saladin," his Ghost said again, and Saladin remembers moving. He remembers clutching his radio and rallying survivors—those strong enough to make the journey—to the Iron Temple.
It's been abbreviated as him "sitting out" the Red War because he didn't fight. Of course it was strange that the last remaining active Iron Lord did not show up to the City to fight alongside all the others, both Guardians and ordinary humans. That Lord Saladin, someone who endured so many hardships and fought so many battles since the Dark Age, hasn't come to help humanity in its time of greatest need.
But now this hits different. He didn't fight, yes. He couldn't. Losing the Light wasn't just something that made him scared (like all Lightbearers): it was something that made him scared of how he might actually enjoy dying a glorious final death. To end the trauma and the memories of all the horrors he's been through. So instead of throwing himself into a reckless death, he chose to stay in the Iron Temple and protect survivors.
So yeah, he didn't fight, but he did something equally important. The Iron Temple is an extremely well protected fortress that's very difficult to reach and breach, so any survivor he gathered was perfectly safe there until the Red War ended. Sometimes "sitting out" is more noble than fighting.
Saladin remembers all this and more whenever the Crow challenges him on his cowardice during the Red War. He wants to break the young Guardian's back to teach him a lesson about what it's like to feel helpless, but something stops him.
He remembers hearing stories about the Crow's life on the Shore before he arrived at the Tower, and does not raise a hand against him.
The lore entry ends with telling us that Saladin was clearly very agitated about Crow's teasing. But in the end, he remembered what Crow has been through and realised that Crow already knows what it's like to feel helpless. He did not need a reminder and Saladin decided to take the teasing without a response. It truly frames some of those voice lines in a different light, knowing this background.
Fourth, leg piece!
Flavour text:
"Some know the legend. We crossed a burning world with sword in hand, bringing justice and blood." —Lord Saladin
Once more, we are told that Saladin was mostly forged (eheh) through his experience in the Dark Age.
The lore page details a bittersweet memory Saladin has of him with his fellow Iron Lords and friends enjoying some good time over a meal and song.
He remembers Radegast asking him to sing the song taught to them by the people of the blacksmith's village, but agreeing only when Jolder and Perun promised to join in. Their voices rose like wolves in the night and were so raw by morning that none of them could speak.
This is honestly heartbreaking. Saladin being this happy and free to sing and enjoy himself: compared to how he is now. But even with that, he has retained the need to do it again sometimes, if he ever finds people to be comfortable around.
Saladin remembers all this and more when Zavala tells him Amanda has taken the Crow out to drink in the City's streets. He wonders what song they'll sing, if it's anything like the one he's heard everyone humming lately—even though he hasn't tried it himself.
I love how he projects his past joy onto the two young people and wonders if they'll do the same as he did once. Here we also get another hint about Saladin apparently not being affected by Savathun's viral chant. It might be a point relevant in the future.
Finally, class item!
Flavour text:
"Some know the legend. We crushed the Warlords beneath our heel so that they may never rise again." —Lord Saladin
Nothing new here. Just Saladin recounting how hard they went against the Warlords.
The rest is a very poignant lore page that details the relationship between Saladin and Zavala. Zavala studied under Saladin who was his mentor and it's been repeated often that Saladin has retained a "soft spot" for him.
Saladin remembers the first time he met Zavala. He remembers thinking that the Awoken had regal bearing like the stags he once hunted on the Steppes. His shoulders were broad, and his chin held high. When he moved, he did so with the strength and purposeful deliberation of someone with the power to determine his own place in the world.
"You'll never have a son," his Ghost had said, "but it isn't too late for you to take an apprentice."
I love when non-Awoken describe Awoken, there's always something ethereal about it. But I'm mostly putting this part here because of what Saladin's Ghost says.
First, I am incredibly soft for older Guardians adopting younger ones as kids and teaching them. Easily my favourite dynamic ever. Saladin seeing Zavala as a son makes me cry a thousand tears.
And second, is this finally a full confirmation that Guardians cannot bear children? It's kind of a strange place to put it, but it seems to be the implication. It makes sense they wouldn't be able to, but it's also nice to have some direct lore information about it in case it pops up as a question. I'm sorry if this ruins anyone's fics.
Saladin remembers their sparring matches. He remembers how Zavala always got back on his feet, no matter how many times Saladin put him down. He remembers refusing to offer the younger Lightbearer a hand up. Until the day Zavala finally bested him in combat.
He remembers lying flat on his back, left shoulder dislocated and ribs shattered, a strange pressure on his chest that made it difficult to breathe.
"Finish it," Saladin had commanded because that was the way of things. His Ghost would revive him.
Saying nothing, Zavala hauled him to his feet instead.
I love how this is placed at the end, paralleling the beginning of Saladin remembering his deaths and the pain of dying. But instead of "finishing it," Zavala pulls him back up. It's definitely something Saladin hasn't experienced before, especially not before becoming an Iron Lord, when all of his deaths were just gruesome ends to a struggle. Then seconds after, he'd be back up. He took the revival for granted, until Zavala offered him the alternative. Again, an interesting perspective about something we don't usually think about much. I do wonder how Saladin healed afterwards though.
Saladin remembers all this and more when his former apprentice calls him into his office and tells him about the face behind the Crow's mask. Zavala says he knows that Saladin doesn't like secrets; that it's unfair to ask him to keep one of this magnitude, but there will come a time when the Crow needs someone—the way Zavala needed Saladin.
"You never needed anyone," Saladin insists.
Zavala only smiles.
This page ends with the two bonding again. Despite their differences and disagreements, there's mutual respect between the mentor and the apprentice. The father and the son.
And Saladin thinks Zavala never needed him, but that is obviously not true and Zavala tells him so. He also tells him that Crow, and implied Guardians like him, will need the same guidance.
It gives us a full circle back to Saladin's musings about his purpose as a Guardian and Lightbearer. He may have doubted his place in the world before, but seeing as he's still here with us and actively participating and helping; training us through Iron Banner, helping with the Eliksni, refusing to side against the Vanguard despite the difference in opinion, now serving as Zavala's ambassador for the Cabal and easily bonding with someone he would've considered an enemy not long ago...
I think Saladin knows his place. He's one of the strongest Lightbearers and most principled among them. He is not swayed by lies and deceptions, he does not abide by them and speaks plainly. He has deeply rooted beliefs in justice and he will not compromise himself, even if it means conceding his position to make peace with a former enemy when that enemy proves their worth, honesty and good intentions to him.
He is a Guardian.
He is an Iron Lord.

SXF Chapters 49-51
It has been a long time since I made a recap, but I wanted to wait until the arc had enough info to give my opinion about.
Tumblr media
Starting with the sub plot of the Forgers, all I have to say it's that it was well constructed.
While Yor protects Olka and Gram, she subconsciously wishes to be with Loid and Anya, but wonders what she's going to do next. Not only about her job, but about her role as Forger: she accepted being Loid's wife to not worry Yuri, then she caught herself feeling threatened by Fiona enough to consider the murder for one moment.
As well as Loid, she got carried away by her feelings to the point she forgot why she was being there, as Forger and assassin, to begin with. After her talk with Yuri in chapter 44 she realized that her main goal was finished; Yuri has already grown up and she doesn't need to be a hitman to support anyone economically. But she has being an assassin for a long time and she somehow takes pride in what she does. Probably that pride will be supported by this arc if she saves Olka, Gram and Zeb.
The dilemma is complicated: she enjoys being part of this family, however, she remembers it's a facade. Being assassin has made possible the survival of her and Yuri, and she believes it helps to clean the streets of people who can harm the new world the peace has created, although it carries many consequences to her life and those around her.
One day she could have to choose a path, but she can't tell her family what she does in order to protect them and because she may be afraid of them leaving her. Mr. Forger or Thorn Princess? Maybe both?
Loid is in a similar situation: with a job he knows he helps others, getting off guard by his feelings towards his family and unable to tell them or understand Anya. I'm 100% sure he never had to face a mission that include taking care of a child, less raise one. Because of Anya's telepathy she knows what happens around her, but he doesn't; this leads him to misunderstands her attitude and think the worse.
At first he tries to act like a normal, good dad, getting as answer harsh words. In chapter 50 he cools down and return to his Twilight side for round two, failing again until Anya calms him down. Meanwhile Anya has another conflict: as any child would do she decided to obtain the tickets to have fun, believing she can help Ma on her mission.
Although she still wants to, I think it's clear in some panels that she's realized her selfishness and now she wants to help Ma to compensate it. After all, imagine being at her shoes: having parents who hide their identities from each other and put both on a cruise while your mother is on a mission that could doomed your family if your father finds out this would be a really bad thing, and the fault of this was because of her.
Tumblr media
But she's so focused on helping Yor she forgets about Loid's feelings after all those reactions coming from her frustration that she paid with him.
Tumblr media
Zeb and Olka, although being on screen for short time, have a good presentation. She's just a woman caught in the crossfire of a conflict between mafia groups, paid with the loss of her husband and all her sons except Gram.
Seen from afar her desire of a normal life, she's in this because she was born the daughter of a mobster, although her group may not be as bloody as one would think about mafia. I find curious the parallels between Olka and Yor: Olka didn't choose her family, fell in love with a man and became mother because of this love; Yor chose that life because of her family, became wife and mother because of it and probably it's her love towards Anya that will keep her in the family until she falls for Loid.
Zeb is the childhood friend that fell for the "bad guy" 's daughter and stayed by her side because his loyalty to her and the family that helped him become the man he's today. A coward and apparently dumb nice guy, he maybe is not qualified to protect her but knows Olka well enough to know how to reassure her, even if it means making a fool of him. I'm sorry for Olka, but I hope they get safe and someday his feelings are reciprocated.
Tumblr media
The informant has his own problems too. It seems not all assassins respect the client-provider relationship, it's a rough job where anyone is expendable. Will he be able to scape from the boat without being killed? Will we know more about him? Only time will tell
Giving his grey morality I'd like him to survive. He already stated he gives information to who pays better so he could be a good ally or a minor antagonist.
About the chapters, this arc had been felt slow to me. However, the arc is constructed to present many things and for that Endo needs to take his time. Along with the biweekly updates the dynamic action scenes that seem short it's why the pace feels slow.
However, whether it's good for ones or bad for others, this arc is important to the story's development and I prefer that Endo doesn't overwork so I'll wait patiently to have a further understanding of how this arc contributes to the general plot.
Tumblr media
Next chapter comes the day after my birthday. I can't wait!
+ Bonus
Tumblr media
"A different frequency than the secret police's line". Loid's aware of the informant's transmitters placed all over the boat, mistaken them with the secret police aboard, which it doesn't need to be entirely wrong. How it would have been the arc if Yuri would have been there too? It's a good writing idea
Tumblr media
Talking about romance, someone's going to propose. Wish you the best buddy!
That's all. Bye!

Theory: RWBY’s Oz allusions are played in reverse.
So by now we’re all familiar with the fact that RWBY has multiple characters based on or inspired by characters from L. Frank Baum’s Oz novels - specifically those seeming to have close ties to Ozpin and the old guard. There’s always been a sort of general idea of how each character ties into their allusion, but I’m going to attempt to convince the reader that RWBY’s Oz characters are specifically designed as an inverse or reverse of their Oz counterpart.
Let’s start with someone simple.
Professor Ozpin & The Wizard of Oz
Tumblr media
“Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain” is what they say about the Wizard in the Oz books. In the source material, the main cast spend their adventure assuming that the Wizard is a grand magician who can solve all of their problems. As it turns out, he’s little more than a con man who can put on a decent show.
Contrast with Professor Ozpin; while the main four cast members assume he’s just another huntsman, it’s revealed he is an extremely powerful Wizard who has reincarnated potentially thousands of times. He takes the Wizard’s concept and reverses the steps.
Leonardo Lionheart & The Cowardly Lion
Tumblr media
Leonardo is one you have to read between the lines for. Despite his role on-screen being portrayed as a one-note coward, he remarks that he’s ‘not the fighter he used to be’, Ozpin speaks somewhat fondly of him in Volume 6 and he was trusted with the protection of a vault.
The Cowardly Lion is, well, cowardly, and at the end of his story ‘gains’ his courage by finding out he had it all along. In contrast, Leonardo seems to be a man who had courage, but lost it at the end of his story.
James Ironwood & The Tin Woodman
Tumblr media
Ironwood is a very clear cut case. Characters like Watts remark that his heart has cost him his mind. He’s open, welcoming and apologetic at the start of volume 7. In volumes 2 and 3 he praises Ruby for going after Cinder alone at the dance and tells the students no one will fault them if they leave during the Fall of Beacon. All symptoms of a man who tries his best to care.
But after the fall of Beacon, James’ fixation on finding a solution sees pieces fall apart around him. He’s constantly backed into a corner by Salem and paranoia, and both figuratively and literally cuts himself off to find some small amount of victory, be able to assure himself that he definitely saved someone.
The Tin Man has no heart and ‘gains’ one. James Ironwood had a big heart, but he’s losing it.
Qrow Branwen & The Scarecrow
Tumblr media
Qrow Branwen is initially presented as Ozpin’s most trusted lieutenant, to the point he has been granted a small amount of magic with which he can perform scouting missions. But as it turns out, Qrow was kept in the dark to a lot of Ozpin’s history, and the fact he had no plan to defeat Salem, and is shattered by the realisation.
The scarecrow, meanwhile, hopes the Wizard can give him a brain. If we assume the brain is reflective of knowledge, well - the Scarecrow gains it, while Qrow founds out that he knew nothing.
Of course, it’s also worth considering that Qrow’s mental state as of late volume 7 and volume 8 may be reflective of the Scarecrow losing his mind.
Oscar Pine & Tip AKA Ozma
Tumblr media
With Oscar, you’re going to have to take my word for how he ties into the Oz lore, as even though he’s been around for five volumes Word of God still hasn’t come out and given us an allusion for him.
In my mind, he’s reflective of Tip, a young boy who lives alone on a farm with a witch-like woman named Mombi. As it turns out, Tip is actually Princess Ozma - kidnapped by Mombi and turned into a lowly farmboy so she could not ascend to the throne of Oz.
So Tip’s true form is Ozma, and Tip was merely a deception.
Meanwhile, Oscar Pine is a young boy who lives alone with his aunt on a farm, but the responsibility of becoming Ozma’s next incarnation is thrust upon him and he resists.
In Oz, the identity of Tip is thrust upon Ozma. In RWBY, the identity of Ozma is thrust upon Oscar. In Oz, Ozma was always the true form of the character; in RWBY, the farmboy is his real self.
And if we’re going backwards... Ozma was forced to become Tip, then became Ozma again. Might Oscar be forced to become Ozma, then regain himself later? We can only hope.
Salem & the Wicked Witch of the West
Tumblr media
I can sum this one up extremely simply;
Water is what killed the Wicked Witch of the West at the end of the story. Water is what cursed Salem to never die at the beginning of the story. What this means for her is hard to say, but how the Wicked Witch began may give us a clue on how Salem might end (but who knows).
Professor Theodore & Dorothy
So here’s the skippy - we don’t know nearly enough about Theodore other than his garish wardrobe being an extremely heavy handed reference to Dorothy, but we can still do a bit of exploring for funsies.
So Dorothy’s character arc in Oz is that she wants to get home to Kansas. “There’s no place like home” and all that. If Theodore’s arc is played backwards, it’s possible he may want to leave Vacuo - that might add reasoning to him constantly challenging people to beat him in a fight and take his role as headmaster - he wants to get out of there.
There’s a little more about Theodore that I might write about, specifically regarding that despite it all he may not actually allude to Dorothy and the similarities are a complete misdirect - but that will have to wait till another post.
For now, take what this post has told you into consideration (and also give me the benefit of the doubt because there’s probably a lot of confirmation bias), and go forth into the end of Volume 8 wondering if that Tin Man is going to lose even more of his heart.
While you’re here - maybe check out my RWBY fancomic, Team RAIN, too!

pushing my shameless trans agenda onto liam
Hi i just think he’s transgender have you seen the man
Tumblr media
Ok so obviously I’m not intending to say this is canon or ever will be canon i just think it would be Neat and i can fit it within canon since well we really can’t tell and there’s honestly a lot of things that fit with it :) also it’s just my favorite characters get hit with the transgenderification beam bc i say so
The whole argument is basically:
-the Name Situation
-his appearance and mannerisms
-his Past TM
-the Bond Situation
-and because I said so
But yeah so the main reason this came to mind is because of the whole deal with his name. I made a previous post on this but yeah, the thing about liam’s name is a big deal, and you know, as a trans person I see it and relate it to that.
The main thing is that there was no necessity to change his name. Louis never changed his first name, and there was no need to. And it’s never really gone over why william’s past life is so important to cover up, other than the fact that he did a court case where he threatened to cut a guy’s arm off when he was like eight, but that’s like... you know, that’s reasonable. He’s very very protective of his past identity, where louis kind of isn’t.
And the fact is, William isn’t an alias, he didn’t have to take that name, he isn’t just doing it out of necessity- he truly does identify with that name, proven in many ways. He enjoys nicknames derived from it. And the thing most indicative of this is Sherlock. In chapter 53, he goes wayyyy out of his comfort zone to actually reveal his past identity and his name. Sherlock knows it, the entire point is to reveal that to him, as a way of giving up the last and most important of his secrets. And yet, even then, William signs his letter ‘William James Moriarty’, though it’s supposed to be his innermost, most vulnerable self.
This pretty much says for sure it’s the name he wants to be called, the name he identifies with, and not whatever his name used to be. It’s important to him, and that’s not a front- have you read that fucking letter? If he was going to admit himself as anything else, it would be there.
Sherlock respects that as well- if there was ever a time when Sherlock would not call him liam, it would be in chapter 55. And yet the most important thing is that he still did call him Liam. He was accepting this dude even though he used to be something else, he didn’t care and he was still willing to save him and love him. Hmmm Sherlock allegory for Trans Ally lmao.
How the identity and name itself is treated also makes it seem even more a positive represetation of a deadname situation. They never tell us his name. And that’s like... honestly important. They’re going out of their way to say that his old name isn’t important. They’re not keeping it secret for any reason than to show that it doesn’t matter, that no matter what he used to be, William James Moriarty is what he is now.
Anyway, other than the name situation, there are still a lot of other factors that go into my thoughts about it.
A lot of his behaviors are indicative to it, especially when he is a kid there are moments where im just like “haha this is an allegory for transgenderism”.
Like first and foremost have you seen how this man looks as a kid? That is the most androgynous motherfucker you’ve ever laid eyes on. No one would honestly be able to tell, the way he looks as a kid is in no way disproving this- kind of the opposite, in fact.
Tumblr media
are you honestly looking at this face and telling me rn you know that’s a cisgender boy?
And honestly, the fact that Albert lends him some of his old clothes just to go around outside in, and then when he comes back the butler is like Take Those Off Right Now Those Aren’t For You is like. Hm. That’s a gender thing. It’s obviously not the case but yknow, another allegory TM.
In his own orphanage as well, he basically took the ‘eldest daughter’ role to a T. He was doing all the chores, taking care of the children, teaching them things, actually managing all the finances as a Child, and kind of thanklessly getting handed this workload he took on bc, you know, eldest daughter. This role just isn’t really given to guys, no matter if they’re Smart TM? I feel like an amab person here would be given the oooh special gifted kid treatment but he’s not, they mostly just use him there as “free extra mom and 100% adult at 12″.
Another big thing is the entire situation around bond, who is literally a canon trans character. For this time period, the way the Moriartys handled the situation seems almost comically out of place. These dudes from the 1800s really just were like “oh yeah ofc you’re a man and we’ll fight anyone who says otherwise and facilitate you in any way possible”- they accepted it without even having to come to terms with the idea that it could be a thing. Bond clarifies constantly that it isn’t about him filling a role, that this is genuinely him, there’s no doubt about it. They clearly have run across it before, and it’s a significant and important issue to them that at least one of them has to have experienced firsthand. It literally just doesn’t make any sense otherwise.
Also in this situation I think it’s kind of funny that the one name they have on hand for the transgenders is James like come on you can do better than that
The parallels between him and Bond also make the whole situation really funny, especially with Sherlock bc it’s like wow sherlock i see you have a type and it’s blond trans men.
Plus, the man is overly secretive, he refuses to let anyone but Louis in his room and just generally doesn’t let people he doesn’t trust get close to him, obviously there are plenty of valid secrets he is keeping, it’s just another thing that points to it.
And I mean, honestly. Just look at the dude. Transgender trait: awful haircut. It’s the awful trans haircut you get from having a Gender Moment and going to a cis barber like “cut my hair short” and they give you karen hair. Somehow he owns it? But it’s an objectively terrible haircut.
My last point: because I said so. All my favorite characters get the transgenderification beam.
So you know, I refuse to believe he is cis until they decide we get to see him shirtless, come on anime team, don’t be cowards lmao

I once had a conversation on twitter with someone who is both a J1er and a Misha anti. The discussion was about Misha's current employment status. When they claimed he was unemployed, I mentioned that just because he is not working on a TV show, does not mean he is not working. Charity (RA, GISH and others), book, supporting politicians and other stuff, but the first two were the ones they hung on to. Apparently releasing a book and doing charity work is not considered proper work for Misha since this anti has done the same. Like... Other actors have also gotten main roles and done procducing, does that mean J1 is also not having a proper job?
What baffels me is how they somehow have this NEED to make J2M lives post-SPN as some kind of a d*ick measuring contest. Like why? People can go on doing different things, be happy about it and thrive ō_ō
JESUS, NO SHIT. Not to mention, Misha IS getting all the spots and work he DOES want. Let's face it, a traveling foodie talkshow is dead ass just up the center Misha Collins' alley. Or the other stuff he's supporting. He literally COULD retire if he wanted to with the resources he has, he's just working his way. As a Misha Collins does.
Jensen is working very fucking intelligently from the long haul establishment and marketing of Chaos Machine to the Winchesters Announcement. I mean, the Bravo, You Coward night isn't something you'd expect over twitter with grown actors so they probably didn't calculate for that, but damn. Moving to Kripke's Boys wasn't just token, that was damn smart. It's everything about roles he's wanted to be. "Superhero" but that gritty shit, sure with someone he knows but it's just -- it was already big and inevitably gonna get bigger on Amazon? But he's also not tied to it forever. Which is good for his music and studio stuff. And still able to shop around for larger roles that interest him.
Jared um-- he makes cowboy cops still kind of. Not even his most ardent fans seem truly excited about it anymore, but are staying out of stubborn actor loyalty. He sells mantra. He um. #1 on the call sheet.
It's a general given that none of these guys need to rush into any specific shape or form of role to be successful.
If we want to talk "classically successful" at this point that would be Jensen with his studio positioning and other litany of media investments.
Misha on the other hand--different sort entirely. For Misha, I think his current project work is incredibly successful. At the end of the day, yes, Misha's an actor sure, but he's more of a social influencer. And I mean that in a good way. But I mean, he said he's making a talk show about... traveling around experiencing people and food and things? hELLo Misha is a free spirit and he gets to go around and talk to people and eat weird stuff as WORK? sign me up motherfucker. He still dabbles around in roles and projects, but I don't think he's legitimately shopping for major camera roles right now. Maybe the right spot one will grab him but yet again, he just got out of being tied down for 11 years. Give him an RV and a bunch of roadie food and a CAMERA.
Jared-- I dunno. Congrats. You have another lead role on the CW again. ...Good for you. ...I'm-- okay.

TFAWS Ep 5: finally some good fucking ✨vindication✨
Scratch that rewind what I said- this is the best episode (maybe in comic book tv history). Closure, growth, and redemption 🙌 just when I was worried they wouldn’t be able to tie things up they fucking give me this 😩🤩👏✊🏽
Holy hell my poor heart died and ascended to the moon to hang out with Steve and Natasha. ✨Goddamn the mastery of storytelling in this episode is why I love the MCU so much ✨
Tumblr media
The opening fight between Walker, Bucky, and Sam had me on the edge of my seat. Like in most fights you know the stakes are low because the main heroes always win but this fight... whew it was consequential and more personal than the civil war fight imo. I genuinely was worried about the outcome for Sam and Bucky physically and emotionally. Every beat was character driven! This was cathartic. 🙌 the stunt coordinators knocked it out of the park lovelovelove 💕.
“I am captain America” homie you giving me Gollum vibes. “It’s (the shield) MINE!” Like-
Tumblr media
So many creative stunts with the wings!!!
Bucky and Sam working TOGETHER
BUCKY DROPPING THE SHIELD AT SAM’S FEET 😭
The golden light seeping into the frame at the end of the fight 🤌🏼
Sam wiping the blood off the shield. 🥲 I can’t even articulate but it makes me feel-
Sammy’s wings got snapped off and he eventually left them with Torres (passing the mantle?) which symbolizes Sam growing out of his old super hero role. It was cleansing. He’s ready to be more. He’s ready to take action rather than let things happen to him 👏
Baby boy Torres trying to talk to Mr Bucky 🥺. You have both sleeves today Mr Bucky sir 💕
I want no I NEED 😫Torres to fly in with the wings next episode.

How we feeling about Walker?? On the one hand I feel him. Us gov did him dirty but at the same time he made the choices he made. Maybe there is room for redemption? Idk... 🙃 or will he continue to get worse?
I am SO glad that Sam went back to talk to isaiah. He needed to know the full story. He needed closure. I could ramble on and on but the writers made the points so much better than I could but just-
Steve did the exact same thing as Isaiah in the first avenger. He went behind enemy lines to rescue Bucky- without permission! He was a hero for it. And Isaiah was thrown in jail? The double standard is so frustrating
I think Isiah’s point that “no self respecting black man” would use the shield makes sense with his background and story. It makes me sick what was done to him. Things really haven’t changed 😞. At this point I honestly wasn’t sure what Sam was going to do. More later on about this-
Zemo’s theme is so beautiful every time I hear it. 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
What a beautiful scene. Cinematography 💯 Such a great moment between Bucky and Zemo. Zemo fully expects to die and then Bucky does the one thing zemo didn’t expect- the one thing he wasn’t “programmed” to do. Fuuuuuckcjfkekxn
“I crossed my name off in your book” 😭. He obviously grew to respect Bucky and wants him to have peace at last with all the civil war stuff.
Ayo back to calling Bucky white wolf 🐺 love to see it.
The kids playing with the shield and tracing the star has me CRYING. Kids are our hope and they still see something special in the shield. They still believe in it. 😭 such a small moment completely floored me.

Wholesome boat fix up 🥺. I feel like this is the montage where SamBucky fall in love 😂
When Sarah and Sam are talking about the boat- how it is their history- I think again of Isaiah. His history was erased. Sam has to preserve his history ✊🏽
Sarah is a goddamn queen and I Stan 🤌🏼✨
The montage was just a sip of cool water in the desert of trauma that is the MCU.

OKEEEE the conversation between Sam and Bucky where they’re tossing the shield is great on so many levels 😍:
Physically the shield matches the dynamic of the convo. Someone makes a point and throws it. Someone accepts what that person said and catches the shield. Bucky physically offers the shield when he says “I’m sorry” and Sam accepts the shield AND the apology.
The difference between avenging and amending. I was surprised they even used that word bc it calls out the avengers for maybe not doing the emotional work involved in being a hero. Healing is part of the hero job now. #phase4
A small detail but as a person of color I valued it; when Bucky said I’m sorry Sam did not say “it’s okay” or “no worries” because he didn’t have to, I feel like as a POC I’m always making white people feel better and for once I’d like to be confident enough to just accept someone’s apology outright and know I deserve it.
Pivotal when Sam said “it doesn’t matter what Steve thought” at first I was like biiiihhh??! 😠 but he had a point. Both Sam and Bucky have been trying to do hold onto another person who is gone. They gotta heal but more importantly they have to find their own reasons to keep fighting.
The training montage 🤌🏼🙌🤩🥲🥺😭✊🏽. Like FEED ME YEs WE ARE EATiNG. Sammy deserves it all
Sam’s cap theme music is similar to Steve’s but still different. Goddamn so beautiful 💕💕😩

Sam has been pretty passive in this show- almost wanting confirmation he did the right thing. Isaiah didn’t give Sam that comfort but neither did Bucky at first. Sam had to make his own choice 😤✊🏽
It’s a heavy burden to be cap knowing all the shit that has come before but Sam is the only one who can make that decision to be or not to be. And he’s seen the alternative now. In life taking action and taking control of our situation is empowering but always harder than doing nothing. He says it best- what’s the point of all that struggle if you’re not going keep on fighting ✊🏽🥺 I love and respect Sam so much 😭 spoken like captain America! 👏
Show me the suit you COWARDS I WANNA SEe

Goddamnit damnit to hell... I need to SEE IT
Is Sharon setting a trap for Karli???
🚨 end credit: I’m not sure if they are making an iron man comparison. What do you guys think?
Ready for the showdown throwdown next week 👀

All in all it was fucking wild ya’ll and I felt catharsis watching this and so fucking hopeful. I cry 😭
Please feel free to share any thoughts you have about this episode💕
there’s so much in this show that is world building within mcu but also in greater conversations about heroism and power. It is a moral re evaluation of the superhero. Malcom Spellman being head writer you know this shit is not happenstance it is intentional. The took the long road and it totally paid off in this episode 😭
🙇🏻‍♀️ I am emotionally manipulated by this show 🙇🏻‍♀️
Huge shout out to all the cast and crew for making something both respectful to the lore but also challenging it to be better 🙌
