Genshin Impact Characters With A Zombie Sibling Reader
Tumblr media
Diluc
Your death affected Diluc a lot
He had already lost his father, and now you as well
After your death, Diluc isolates himself, barely leaving the winery
He can't get the image of your dead body out of his head
He blames himself for not being able to keep you safe
It's only days later when you return from being dead
One of the maids runs up to him, looking shocked
That's when he spots a small figure huddled behind her legs
When you peak out from behind her to look at him, Diluc can't speak
Part of him thinks this is a hallucination
He barely pays any attention when the maid explains that she found you outside
He approaches you, kneeling down to your height
He can feel his whole body shaking as he reaches out toward you
Diluc places a hand on your shoulder, finally realizing that you're real
He pulls you into a hug, finally letting himself cry
He doesn't let go for a bit
You just look up at him confused, and he knows you don't remember him
That fact hurts him, but he's just happy to have you back
He promises he'll keep you safe this time
Diluc won't let anything bad happen to you ever again
He hadn't touched your old room since your death, so you stay there
He always makes sure you have your notebook with you, and so do the maids
Slowly, you remember him and grow attached to being around him
That warms his heart
Diluc always makes sure you exercise and keeps you away from his vision
He gets even more protective over you, not wanting to lose you a second time
Other than that, he's still the same with you as he was before
You're still the only person who's able to make him smile
When it comes to Kaeya, Diluc doesn't want you around him that often
Kaeya
When you died, Kaeya felt like his whole world had been destroyed
You were the only biological family he had left, and Diluc didn't want to have anything to do with him
Kaeya tried to hide his grief, but he would cry on his own
Only a week later, he found you wondering around Mondstat
He almost didn't think you were real
Kaeya ran over to you, pulling you into a hug
You just stared up at him, a blank expression on your face
He knew you had lost all your memories, but he was just happy to have you back
You immediately started living with him
He always took good care of you, making sure you had your notebook and exercised
He always kept you away from the heat
Kaeya would try and get you back to the way you were before
He would try and get you interested in your old hobbies, or take you to places you used to go
It made him sad when you didn't really respond, but he didn't give up
It was tough since you were a zombie, but at least he had you back
Childe
It was a tragic accident that ended your life
Childe was there to witness as you were attacked
He watched as the life left your eyes
He could swear it felt like he was thrown back into the abyss
He blamed himself because he was supposed to keep you safe
When you came back to life, he was just about to leave so he could attend to some fatui work
He cried as soon as he saw you, your eyes blank
He pulled you into his arms, sobbing
He promised himself that he wouldn't fail you again
From that moment on, Childe acts like everything is back to normal
Though deep down he knows you aren't the same
He works hard to take care of you, making sure you have your notebook with you, and that you exercise every day
The rest of your family do as well
There are moments Childe gets emotional
He can't help but miss when you were still the energetic child you used to be

currently trying to write for a small series with a platonic! ragnvindr! sister reader… have a few drafts but im going through a brain block rn so this will just be a small description for the first few parts. the first two parts will be based off of fourth of july by sufjan stevens. i think you know where this is going with the ragnvindr fam lore.
after your adoptive fathers death and the fight between your brothers , diluc sells the mansion and leaves you to the winery by yourself for years to search for answers. kaeya moves into the city, with no other choice left, and you barely see him. he cant stand to even look at you and he knows you hate him.
you also now hate going into the city of freedom but sneak away from the winery whenever you can to visit crepus’ grave.
but one night, sometime after everything that has caused the downfall of your family, you visit your father’s grave after a bad day. and then he visits you in your dream and he talks to you. after the dream you put much thought to what he said and finally gain the courage to run away from everything and choose your own fate.
you travel and adventure to your hearts desire and then decide to settle in liyue for a while after a year or two, only now traveling occasionally.
then one day, there in liyue, you meet a certain blonde poet…

𝒟𝒶𝓃 𝐻𝑒𝓃𝑔
He’s such a big brother like you’re his sister now, and he’s going to take care of you. You want candy; you got candy. Wait,  it wasn’t the right one? It’s fine; he’ll just get you the one you like! Hey, why don’t you just come to the candy shop and pick whichever you want? But not too many.
You look so cute making two L’s and making a little camera and looking through it to look at things or people. Also, take you to a playground and push you on the swings; aren’t you just adorable?
Extra: Li Dan Heng: holding you while you touch his horns and call him big brother, blood rushes to his face. Since he’s embarrassed by your actions if only you weren’t so cute.
He doesn’t want to see you cry again, like when you first came out: afraid of what will happen next, since now you're all alone again. But it’s fine; don’t cry. Your big brother is here.
𝒲𝑒𝓁𝓉 𝓎𝒶𝓃𝑔
He’s so dad-coded, it’s insane. He’s taken care of kids before, and even now with March and you. At first, you found him a little mean because of his scary resting face (even though it isn’t even scary). Your opinion changed when he started to give you gifts whenever he came back from the world you stopped at. Just to see your face light up in happiness makes him feel happy as well!
You aren’t allowed to go on a mission, but after everything is over, he takes you out of the express and we have fun together!
He comforts you when you are scared; you just don’t want to be alone again. all alone, no one wanting to talk to you or look at you. It's fine; he’s felt something similar to that, so don’t be scared.

if you liked this, consider tipping me on ko-fi! it'd mean a lot!

Desire of the fittest - Part 1
Self Aware Genshin Alternate Universe - Guide AU (my own take on sagau)
Next
Warnings :
Adult content (such as violence, bullying, toxic relationships, cursing, angst, nsfw, and others) and yandere behavior (such as obsessive and possessive display)
Theories and lore informations
Since this is my take on an alternate version of Genshin Impact, I've taken the liberty to include elements that may not align with the game's lore but will make sense in this particular story.
Content : Kaeya and Diluc's wonderful sibling dynamic, Pantalone's charisma, Ningguang and Beidou making me question things about myself, Venti's poetic rumbles, Aether's sister issues
As it is a "x Reader", i use the pronoun "you" and wrote the protagonist as gender neutral.

In the city of contracts, one might never sleep admidst the lights adorning the starry night. The milliths exhibit strong commitment to the protection of their people and, to some extent, their alcohol. Priorities vary, with some indulging in their duty while others drink to their heart's content. For example, a reckless young knight in training sneaks in the few dim alleys the town might provide, a risky task considering his bright red hair. However, this detail doesn't dissuade him from neglecting his duties and following his own sense of justice.
"I hope you got a good excuse for this one, you know. I'm running out of ideas to give Varka and Jean to save our badges."
The knight's face betrays little surprise as he observes the other man leaning on his shoulders. The redhead stares at his coworker and gives him a forceful shove, clearly irritated by his mere presence. The other knight raises his hands as to surrender, a quirky smile growing on his features.
Seizing the man by his collar, the redhead forcefully pins him against the nearest wall. One hand silences the sweet talker, while the other firmly grips the weapon's pommel at his belt. Despite this, the knight's focus remains fixed on the pair strolling past the concealed alley. Only when the target disappears from his view does the redhead shift his attention to the restricted man.
"If you're so afraid to lose your career, why do you keep following me ? Tell me Kaeya, is it funny for you to stick your nose in my business ?"
Kaeya, as he's called, emits a dry laugh before forcing himself out of the redhead's grip. He brushes off his shoulder pads and arranges his hair to his preferred style, tidy yet with a hint of wildness.
"I care about you Diluc, is that so hard to catch on ? You're the only family i have left. You know ? Your brother ?"
The red hair is quick to rectify the man.
"Adoptive brother."
Unfazed by the knight's irritable mood, Kaeya crosses his arms and nonchalantly toys with his nails. Diluc, rolling his eyes, shifts his attention to the pair he's been tailing. He silently curses upon spotting them entering one of the numerous restaurants lining the main street.
"Fantastic, just splendid. Now, either you willingly return to Varka and the Tianquan, or I'll simply knock you out and leave you here until I'm done."
"Or, I could help you get to the bottom of your self-assigned heroic mission, because I know troubles come when you get impulsive like that."
Diluc grunts in his breath, accepting the situation as it is, much to the patched eye knight's delight.

In the Liuli Pavilion, customers savored their meals in tranquility, engaging in cheerful conversations about their day and the latest gossip. However, an air of tension hung over the staff tonight. While some attributed it to the festivities taking place, little did they know that the luxurious VIP room, a privilege only accessible to a select few in Teyvat, had been reserved for the evening by one of the renowned harbinger.
Raising his wine glass, the ninth harbinger subtly toasts the occasion with his present partner. Sipping the drink, he places it meticulously on the table, ensuring his actions meet the standards of the person sitting across from him. As his lavender eyes gracefully meet yours, he can feel his smile growing fondly.
"Now that I think about it, you never gave me one of your intertwined fate, hum~?"
His comment makes you scoff in slight mockery, amused by his phrasing.
"You know very well that's not how it works."
Sadly for you, he isn't one to back down easily, he tends to lean more towards negotiation. Despite having performed numerous deeds for you, the unfortunate truth is that you've settled every debt owed to him. Your shared appreciation for fairness is a quality he respects. Even if he loathes the lack of any blackmail's materials he could use against you, it's very unlikely that he will take action to remedy this fact.
"Even if I generously provide the goods~?"
Setting aside your chopsticks, you emphasize your point. Normally, engaging in a debate with him would be enjoyable, but at the moment, you don't have the mind for such mental games.
"Pantalone."
Considering his personality, you should have known that such a small display won't faze him.
"[Name]."
You sigh and focus your attention on the meal he graciously covered for you. Though you could have easily afforded it, you appreciate the care. While savoring your food and avoiding prolonged eye contact, your pointed ear twitches at a sudden yet subtle sound.
"Is something disturbing you ?"
Glancing discreetly at one of the open windows, you reassure the man, hoping to lessen his keen interest in your every move. His meticulous gaze is bound to make you uneasy. It would be in your best interest to change the subject.
"A war is brooming."
The revelation doesn't appear to surprise the man greatly as he gestures for you to carry on.
"Hum ? And, what kind ?"
"I cannot see what the future unfolds, Pantalone, I'm no seer. It could be harsh, fierce or treacherous, I wouldn't know."
Chuckling, the man runs his finger along the rim of his glass before indulging in another sip.
"I'm gonna need more information, my dear. I'm afraid I can't do much with only an assumption."
Seizing your food in a more aggressive manner, you point your chopsticks towards the man's face.
"It's far from a possibility, it will happen."
Pantalone leans to eat the food held between your utensils with a rather teasing smile. He finishes his mouth while whipping any condiment that might have clung to his lips.
"Hm, quite salty if you want my opinion. Anyway, how come one who can't grasp the future like you, your words not mine, seems so convinced that a war will occur, hum~?"
As a way to turn back on him, you snatch a portion of his food directly from his plate. Deliberately savoring each bite at a slow pace, your resentful gaze remains fixed on his. You're not one who likes to share.
"I didn't know you could be childlike, it's quite cute~."
Clearing your throat, you refuse to get embarrassed by such words.
"As I was saying, I am sure it will happen because it concerns my kind."
As you finish your plate, you fold your hands together, creating a makeshift headrest. You catch the curious gaze of the harbinger as he gestures you to pursue.
"They have started to show an interest in this world. And believe me that it will get ugly once they come here. After all, Teyvat and its people are one of a kind."
Pantalone appears to think for a moment, his usual smile shifting in a subtle frown.
"I understand now the kind of problems such scenery could cause... What about you ? What would you do if- I mean, when the time comes ?"
You smile brightly, seemingly eager to answer this specific question. The man cannot help but notice the subtle glimmers of light shining softly around your head. While you may view it as an annoying flaw, he appreciates the element's reactions to your mystical presence. These manifestations are a giveaway on your feelings, making it easier for him to read.
He chuckles to himself while reminded of that one time steam literally came out of your ears.
"I already planned everything to the last minus detail, you don't have to worry about me."
Pantalone returns your smile and not so subtly extends his hand toward yours. He smoothly intertwines his fingers with yours, giving them a reassuring squeeze.
"Oh I'm not worried, I know you're capable~. I was merely curious if you would be more... open at the thought of fulfilling your role as a guide, especially in this context. After all, you still lack a main vessel, don't you ?"
You swiftly withdraw your hand from his grasp before standing up. Your gaze shifts to the open window where a little wick of red could be seen next to a soft looking lock of blue.
"Our time together was pleasant, but i'm afraid you'll have to excuse me."
As you take your leave, Pantalone's smile fades as he too stands up from his seat. It seems he took things too personal again. He approaches the staff member, seemingly waiting for the dinner's payment, and gives him the right amount via a lavish bag full of moras.
"H-hope to see you again, s-sir."
Disregarding the pitiful display, he leaves the establishment , wondering when he might have the opportunity to see you once more.

"Ningguang, please, i beg of you to listen to reason. This kind of threat doesn't loom over Mondstadt alone, all of Teyvat is at risk."
The grand master of the Knights of Favonius searches fervently for any signs of concern in the reddish eyes of the woman before him, yet her smile remains calm and unfazed. Her presence commands respect as she speaks to the man in an eloquent tone, dismissing his concerns with a flick of her fan.
"I am well aware of the situation in the north and the peril it poses, Varka. However, I feel the need to remind you that our capabilities are limited in addressing this issue."
The towering man forcefully slams his fist on the woman's desk, causing some paperwork to flutter down gradually. Under normal circumstances, Varka isn't someone to easily lose his composure. Yet, with the recent surge of problems, even his usual calm begins to falter.
"Stop beating around the bush !"
Displeased with the man's tone, Ningguang rises from her seat and strides toward the irritated knight. She seizes the man's cheeks, causing him to grunt from the pressure made by her claw-like jewelry.
"The Qixing and I are currently deeply engaged in the construction of the Jade Chamber, i cannot allow half of the millith's forces to join the knights of favonius in a perilous mission doomed unsucessfull. Do i make myself clear ?"
Varka attempts to free himself from Ningguang's grasp by reaching for her hand, but the noblewoman prevents him from doing so by stepping back herself. Seated elegantly on her desk, she discards her fan to take a slight inhale from her pipe, attentively observing the resentful gaze of the man.
"I came to Liyue believing that the Tianquan would be the most understanding. Unfortunately, it seems that selfishness plagues all nations."
"Cut her some slack old man, not everybody is willing to die for some greater good. Here, have a drink."
Varka looks at the half-naked woman slouching on the expensive couch while presenting him an opened flask, most likely containing alcohol. The man averts his eyes, embarrassed by her shameless behavior.
"Oh archons, please, have some decency."
The woman slowly rises from the couch and approaches the man with an unusual sway. As she walks towards him, she struggles to maintain balance on her two feet. Her body moves uncontrollably, resembling the unsteady motion of a boat. Stopping uncomfortably close to Varka, to his displeasure, she fervently pokes his chest.
"Well, look who's talking! You're the one who barged in uninvited in the middle of the night while this elegant lady and I were enjoying a wonderful night of passion."
Ningguang observes the interaction closely but takes no action to intervene as the woman keeps on intruding the man's personal space. However, her passive behavior changes abruptly when her loved one begins to slide her hand under Varka's uniform.
"Beidou, i must advise you to refrain from teasing him, the gentleman appears to be on the brink of mortification~."
The sea woman gives the man some space without making a fuss, returning to the couch. Flopping onto it crudely, she sips her beverage while muttering inaudible words to herself. Ningguang lets out a sigh as she glances at the drunk woman pouting.
On the other hand, Varka straightens his knight's uniform, choosing to close the topic and avoid dwelling on it any further.
"Your nocturnal escapades are not on my list of interests and i'd like to keep it that way. Spare me the details and we'll all sleep a little more soundly, thank you."
Just as Beidou was about to voice her mind, the door to the private room burst open. Two young knights hurriedly entered, slamming the door shut as if sealing themselves off from a pursuing threat. Judging by Kaeya's heavy breathing, he seemed as if he had just sprinted for his life. Diluc, though equally exhausted, maintained a more composed demeanor.
"Care to explain where you two were ?"
The brothers instantly straightened from their slouching forms, standing at attention, fists over their hearts. Varka folded his arms, seemingly awaiting a response. Diluc broke the silence, his eyes challenging the Grand Master's gaze as he spoke first.
"On duty."
Kaeya scoffs dismissively, adding a sardonic remark to punctuate his disdain.
"I'm not sure discretely following a harbinger and a guide, getting discovered and almost dying on the spot was part of the mission we were assigned to."
The Tianquan's ears perk up at the mention of such individuals by the young knight. If his statement proved to be true, then troubles were brewing right under her nose. The prospect doesn't sit well with her.
Diluc quickly retorts with a tone laced with disdain, his brother's attitude getting on his nerves more than it already has.
"Would it kill you to shut your mouth once in a while ?"
"Would it kill you to respect the knight's code once in a while ?"
Beidou erupts into a loud laughter as it slowly fades into amused chuckles. In her inebriated state, the interaction between the two unfolds as a hilarious spectacle. Varka doesn't appear to find the situation funny as his facial expression twitches with carefully concealed anger.
Interestingly, Diluc appeared to share a similar state, albeit for different reasons.
"You don't even know what you're talking about."
Kaeya makes a concerted effort to maintain formation as he turns his head to look at the redhead.
"Oh, forgive me ! All you ever do is chase your damn heart's desires in the guise of justice, and that's precisely how you put not just yourself but everyone around you in danger ! You're downright inconsiderate and recklessly hot-headed."
Sensing a headache starting to form, Varka decides to finally intervene.
"That's enough, both of you. Childish bickering is unbecoming of knights. Now, I want to know where you were and what you were doing. Keep it brief."
The bluish knight keeps his eyes shut and mouth silent. His brother decides to confront the Grand Master, seemingly unimpressed by his towering composure and the fact that he could send him flying with a flick of his wrist.
"It doesn't matter what we witnessed, you couldn't possibly do anything about it anyway. Just like your expedition in the north, they won't amount to anything in the end."
The fiery attitude of the knight briefly snaps the drunk woman out of her clouded mind. She cheers with her nearly empty bottle before sleep reclaims her once more.
"Ah ! The kid got some spunk ! Reminds me of... what was his name again...?"
Diluc coughs as smoke wafts into his face. He glances at the woman responsible, who smiles while inhaling from her pipe again.
"It would be in your best interest to learn what to keep to yourself and what should be shared, boy. If a guide is indeed involved with a harbinger, something serious is looming. Trust me, you don't want the weight of people's lives on your shoulders."
The knight ignites the remaining essence inside the pipe, allowing it to burn and depriving her of anything else to smoke. The woman scoffs at the man's use of his Pyro vision. It's akin to witnessing a child throwing a tantrum for not being taken seriously. Yet, unlike the hollow threats of a kid, the fire in his eyes dared the Tianquan to change his mind.
Surveying the remaining people, he briefly locks eyes with Kaeya. Sensing his concern, yet dismissing it, he storms out of the room.
"I know what i must do, and it doesn't concern any of you."

A loud shattering noise brings Diluc back to his senses. He glances at the culprit and frowns upon seeing the local bard laying on the floor with a broken wine bottle. Giggling to himself, the drunkard appears to be in his own world, thoroughly enjoying himself. The bartender grabs him by his shirt, hoisting him back onto his stool.
With the late hour upon him, Diluc finds himself with only the lonesome bard as a customer. Eager to begin his journey home and well aware of this specific client's penchant to be annoying when it comes to alcohol, he decides to employ a different strategy than his usual approach.
"So, when do you think i should kick you out ?"
Venti continues to giggle slightly, leaning on the bar counter. He toys with the glass Diluc so gracefully served him, mischief forming in his eyes as he glances at the redhead. Strangely enough, he doesn't seem to be that drunk anymore.
"Let's say... If you tell me why you were lost in such a thoughtful row, i might let you know~."
The bartender dismisses it with a simple shrug, clearly not in the mood to satisfy the bard's curiosity.
"I was just reminded of something."
As the breeze softly wafts through a small crack in the bar's window, Venti's smile takes on a more knowing gleam. He slides his empty glass playfully along the counter, a silent request to get a refill. Unfortunately, Diluc only takes the glass to clean it, refusing to pour more alcohol for him.
As he resigned on getting more of the sweet beverage, Venti sighs and settles on trying to decipher the bartender's thoughts.
"Well, I don't mind to guess~."
Diluc scoffs, skeptical of the drunkard's boastful claim. While he doesn't feel the need to engage in Venti's game, a hint of curiosity lingers. Who knows, perhaps the bard might have something intriguing to say.
"I've caught wind that the traveler's back from their journey. We haven't crossed paths, but rumor has it that their tale isn't quite cheery."
As Venti's concern reflects in his eyes, Diluc can only wonder what's hidden behind those poetic rumbles.
"I've known about their return in Mondstadt for quite a while now, but i haven't gotten the chance to meet them yet."
The bard contemplates the redhead's words with a thoughtful hum. Determined to get under his skin, he retrieves his lyre, creating a gentle tune that pierces the silence in the tavern. His expression bears the weight of sorrow as he poetically expresses his thoughts.
"Let his story be a lesson.
One learned from past takes,
To steer clear of repeating mistakes.
Beware of ones who claim as guides,
for their path conceals deceptive tides.
As stories have shown,
they cannot be trusted to bring you home.
Truth easily brushed aside with vows so sweet,
Yet, remember, once humans, their hearts did beat.
Let their story be a lesson,
Unspoken, like an untold confession.
One that shall not be named,
so it may never repeat again."
As the melody gently fades away, satisfaction spreads into the bard upon witnessing surprise on the man's features.
"Hehe, told you i was good at guessing~."
In his silent contemplation, Diluc gazes at the sword that once symbolized his knighthood, now relegated to a mere wall ornament. There was a time when he wielded it with pride. These days, when confronted with his nocturnal 'duties', he opts for heavier armaments. Regrettably, without his claymore in close reach, his former sword remains the sole option should the need for self-defense arise.
"Such strange beings... Aren't they fascinating ? While not being from these lands, it feels as if they've existed here long before life itself."
Venti follows the redhead's gaze, unbothered by his cautious demeanor. After all, he, too, once felt intimidated by the mere mention of guides. Nevertheless, his past fear primarily stemmed from his unfamiliarity with them. Having personally witnessed their exceptional powers, he understands that while one should avoid provoking them, it's quite simple to earn their favor.
"Some cruel, some benevolent, they only share their pride. Powerful yet feeble, to survive, they are reliant on what they term a 'vessel'. To their host, they may seem divine, yet in truth, they're nothing but a parasite."
Observing the bard rise from his stool, Diluc steps away from the counter to obstruct the main entrance of the tavern. Crossing his arms, he challenges Venti to take another step, his pyro vision blazing brightly as a silent warning.
"How do you know so much about them ?"
Amused by the situation, the not quite inebriated individual appears unfazed by Diluc's fiery demeanor, lifting his arms in mock surrender. His eyes emit a faint glow as a gust of wind forcefully opens the window, extinguishing all the candles illuminating the tavern. Irritated by the incessant noise of the window slamming against the wall, Diluc promptly closes it. Turning his attention back to the bard, he furrows his brows upon realizing that Venti hasn't made a hasty retreat. It's peculiar since the bard is renowned for employing cunning tactics to escape undesirable situations. Venti nonchalantly shrugs in response to the accusing gaze from the redhead, as if he weren't the one responsible for the sudden gust of wind, despite the 'anemo vision' resting on his belt.
"That's a tale for another day~. What's more important is why you seem to hold such an interest in them."
Realizing the bard has no intention to utter another word, Diluc sighs and clears the path to the exit. He gestures to Venti with a nod, signaling him to leave while he allows it.
"I have my reasons."
Entertained by the fact that he didn't need to be forcibly kicked out, the bard chuckles to himself before making a swift departure, leaving his parting words to resonate in the air.
"Hehe, fair enough. But if you do wish to learn more about them, heed my advice. Fools seeking aid from those with selfish desires rarely find anything good in return."

As waves gently caress the shore, a symphony of memories, both ancient and recent, courses through them. The gentle cadence of the sea does not drown out the melody hummed by the young man standing in the water. Unfazed by the sea reaching his knees or the cool night breeze, he stands with eyes open but vacant, bathed in the ethereal glow of the moonlight.
With utmost care, he places on the water's surface a leaf-crafted vessel bearing a delicate arrangement of flowers, a tribute to his sister. As the final notes of his haunting melody linger in the night, a lament of anguish and sorrow, he releases the makeshift boat to be carried away by the current.
Soft tears flow down his face as his voice gently wanes. Upon arriving for the first time at this shore with a solemn vow to reunite with his sister, his ignorance veiled his eyes. Admidst the new sights this world had to offer, a strange familiarity embraced him. As the wind tousled his hair down to the way the soil felt beneath his feet, it was as if he had returned home.
He reflects on his past as a soldier, an obedient one who never questioned orders, devoid of a sense of morality, discerning neither good nor bad. He was merely following commands.
He recalls about her once gentle nature, a soul averse to causing harm, adorning herself not for personal satisfaction but for others' admiration. Her explanations of right and wrong were delivered calmly, never raising her voice.
They both changed so much, left with nothing but themselves and memories to nurture. Their relationship was at the time a delicate balance, with even the smallest mistakes sparking intense fights.
With time, she developed a stronger personality, becoming more reserved and secretive. He, however, found a way to articulate his feelings, expressing himself in ways he couldn't comprehend before. She loved to tease his newfound soft side.
But someone had robbed him of that. When he encountered her again at the end of his journey, he realized he was too late. In their final meeting, although her body was still breathing, there was no soul inhabiting it, no mind radiated from her mortal shell.
As she was no longer herself, he had no option but to end her suffering.
"Well, it's not often i get to meet with you alone. Where is that little fairy friend of yours ?"
As he feels tender hands cupping his face, a smile graces his features, whispering your name. To him, it has been too long since the last time you two shared such a peaceful moment. The infrequency of your meetings only heightens the value he places on them.
"Paimon is currently receiving care from the sisters of Mondstadt's cathedral. She got quite injured during our latest adventure. As for why i am here, I needed some time alone to bid a proper farewell."
He opens his eyes, savoring the sight of yours. Their intricate hues bear untold secrets that he longs to unravel. The patterns on your skin accentuate the natural bioluminescence of your body, preserving tales from times long past. Gently, he raises his calloused hand to your own, relishing in the comfort. As he senses your delicate fingers wiping away the tears from his face, more flows out.
"I'm sorry for your loss."
As his guide, he understands the price to pay for the honor bestowed upon him. Deep down, he understands the strength and knowledge you provided were for your own survival. The love he receives depends on the satisfaction he brings to you. He doesn't care if you use him as a vulgar puppet, as long as he remains by your side. He can't lose you, not you too.
"My sister liked to say that home is wherever we are together. Since we were all that were left of our home, i guess it was true."
His voice is parched and laden with sorrow as he clings to you like he would for a lifeline.
"She was the one determined to find somewhere for us to settle. But everywhere we went, troubles came. Either we had to flee or we were chased away. Times were hard, but at least we had each other. She was the only one I could rely on."
"But times have changed; you don't have to flee anymore, you don't have to follow orders, you don't have to live in her shadow. You can listen to your heart's desires."
In the silent exchange of glances, Aether notices the profound emptiness in your eyes, a void untouched by the shared sadness or comfort he seeks. The weight of realization descends upon him, as denial attempts to cloak the newfound awareness. The touch that he craved for earlier radiated no warmth. A sense of betrayal settles over him, sending chills coursing through his body.
"... you knew."
With the guilt slowly making itself evident on your face, he pushes your hands away from his. Stumbling on his feet, the world around him spins as if he has just awakened from a profound dream. The thought of you betraying his trust unsettled him. After all, the bond you shared wasn't a trivial pinky promise but a deep connection where he lived for you, and you for him.
"... you knew it would happen... you knew and yet... you did nothing ?"
He retreats slowly toward the shore, and as you follow, your hands gently signal him to calm down, much like one would soothe a frightened animal.
"It was already too late the day i saved you from that shade."
His heart aches as your words sink in. Closing the distance between the both of you, Aether decides to listen. He allows you to take his hands in yours, feeling the squeeze accompanied by a sudden cold. It's a familiar chill that he's come to associate with your moments of sadness.
"Then why did you save me ? Why didn't you save her ? Why. Me."
You guide him gently to the dry sand, ensuring his gaze follows your movements. As you start drawing shapes on the ground, they soon come to life in a light green hue, dancing around both of you. Aether recognizes himself in one of them and reaches out to touch it. Luminescent particles spread apart at his sudden movement, only to reform elsewhere near them. The scene changes, depicting the fateful day he lost Lumine.
"... you were both destined to die. I chose you because you reminded me of my old self."
He witnesses the divine being capturing his sister only to target him next. Aether perks up by the appearance of another shape. He observes how you protect him from the deity before the scene changes once more. Nostalgia fills him as he watches you forge the bond between the two of you. A soft laugh escapes him at the sight of Paimon being fished out, breathing life into your dynamic.
"You were quite stupid and ignorant."
Beads of sweat flow down his face as the shapes replays some of his past mistakes. In an attempt to avoid further embarrassment, he raises his hand to dispel the particles. You intervene by gently seizing his hand and guiding it to his heart.
"Yet, I could sense your determination to protect what you hold dear."
His ethereal counterpart proudly raises his blade against the final obstacle in his journey. It appears fearless, prepared to confront what he believed would be its greatest foe. However, that confidence crumbles when the monstrous shape morphs into the likeness of his sister. He observes as his particle self thrusts its sword through her, taking her life. As the particles slowly disperse, he meets your gaze, bitterness filling his throat.
"If I were to apologize for all the secrets i kept from you, that would be a lie. For all I did was solely to protect you."
You embrace the boy one final time before fading away. Aether's arms linger in the air before he wraps them around himself, trembling slightly. Shivers run down his spine as he comprehends what you've left behind. He gingerly picks up the small gemstone on the sand and clenches his fist. Anger wells up within him as he gazes at the cracked little starshaped orb, a symbol of your shattered bond.
You abandoned him.

"Ugh, are you done yet ? Witnessing your sickening sweetness with him is making me nauseous."
Upon opening your eyes, you sense cramps crawling through your body, as if emerging from a deep coma. You snatch the helmet-like device off your skull and shove it away. The man attending to you utters an annoyed "watch it" in response.
"Deal with it."
The man assists you in exiting the machinery, disconnecting various tubes and electronics that monitored your health and body state. He grunts upon witnessing your attempt to straighten up quickly, and he gently compels you to lay back. Muttering additional curses, he likely expresses irritation at your impulsive actions, fully aware of the associated risks.
"Do you really need to go to such lengths? First, you toyed with his memories, and technically, you're the reason why he lost his dear 'sister.' And now, after all the efforts you put into him, you're just giving up ?"
You forcefully pull his hands away from your body and swiftly rise to your feet. Letting out a grunt, you massage your temples as a headache begins to intensify. Moving slowly, you skip a few steps, struggling to stand on your own but determined to reach a proper bed for some rest.
"I know what i have to do and i don't need your concern."
Depriving you of the chance to take another step on your own, the man hoists you onto his shoulder and carries you like a sack of potatoes. With no strength left, you acquiesce, but in silence, you mentally note to make him pay for this humiliation.
"Ugh, guides. I would never understand your kind."
You snarl and swiftly retort to his remark, delivering a quick hit to his hips.
"I am nothing like them."
The man appears unfazed by your punch, softly placing you on a very comfortable bed. He sighs at your angry gaze and flicks your forehead. It perplexes him how careless you can be when it comes to taking care of yourself, yet how gentle you are when it comes to your vessels.
"And yet, here you are, acting like one."
"And yet, here you are, taking care of me."
You lock eyes with the man, urging him to look away, but he continues to relish the moment. He neatly folds the cozy blanket atop you and tenderly traces the features of your face with his fingers. Despite his harsh and unyielding tone, his facial expression reveals another narrative, one where he could have been more sincere about his feelings.
"We just have a common enemy, nothing more."
Frustrated by his contradictory tenderness and attitude, you opt to usher him out.
"You never know when to shut your mouth do you ? I wonder where you got that."
The man scoffs and exits the room, clearly offended by your words. Finally relishing a peaceful moment, you close your eyes and envision the starry sky you've come to know by heart, one you hold dear, even if it's a mere fabrication. You identify a few constellations and recollect which ones align with your favorites.
After spending countless years in these lands, your meticulous preparations are on the verge of paying off. All the accumulated resources, weapons, and artifacts are about to prove their worth. Finally, you'll have the opportunity to engage in a game that truly fulfills your desires. One marked by chaos and unforeseeable events, where rules are broken and laws cease to matter.
Anticipation builds as you look forward to witnessing the expressions of newcomers when things deviate from their expectations, struggling to survive in a world they believed they knew.
It's going to be a gameboard where, finally, you hold the advantage.
Doesn't it sound fun ?

The Broken Contract
Fandom: Genshin Impact
Pairing: Morax/Zhongli x Reader
Other characters: Osial
Category: romance, angst, sfw,
Warnings: death of a character, violence I guess, since you'll read someone's death
Author's note: I recently entered this fandom and according to my PC, I'm not leaving soon since I installed the game and I'm a total addict to it. Also, you people ready to pull for Daddy Geo?
Tumblr media
You were there to speak with your brother, you were trying to reason with him, even when he didn't wanted to hear reasons to stop the war. You hated the place where you were, between two persons you loved: Your brother and your husband. You just wanted them to stop trying to kill each other.
Osial was there because you were his sister, had it been anyone else he wouldn't have appear. It didn´t matter that you were technically his enemy. You were always a bit smarter than him, and if he could get you back on his side, he was going to hear everything you had to say.
Morax was there because he thought you were acting strange. He didn't distrust you, he thought there was something wrong with you. Maybe you were tired and in need of a few days away from the war. He was there to tell you to go rest. What he saw however were you being held by Osial, staying so close, speaking so soft that he was struggling to hear.
Morax thought you were betraying him. You who had looked out for him, you who had got close to him. You, who had made yourself comfortable by his side. You who had carved your name in his heart. How was it possible? How could you fool him?
You laughed and suddenly the sound wasn't lovable but sinister and Morax caught your words as you laughed: "God of fools". Osial laughed along and crush you against him, you hugged him back hiding your face in Osial's chest and Morax wasn't able to handle it. Not only were you betraying him, you were breaking the most important contract for him: marriage. Every contract was sacred, but this was the worst, there was only one way to pay, death. He shot his polearm, thinking he would be able to take down two birds with one stone or pole arm, but there was no luck, he had only pierced through you.
Osial's expression of horror and panic was the most delightful image Morax was able to see, he called upon his weapon and the polearm flew back to his hand as you fell back out of Osial's hug, spilling your blood in the ground.
The God of contracts saw you and he felt something breaking even more when he saw your eyes focusing on him, blood fell from your mouth but the expression on your face was the same you had a couple of nights ago, as you told him you loved him.
— Look Os, it's my hus...— There wasn't a proper end for the statement as your eyes went dull, lifeless.
Osial felt the rage burst in his veins, poisoned words started to form in his mind, he wanted to avenge you but seeing you bloodied in the ground made him stop. You would never want that. You would never want to hurt Morax.
Osial, however, was a vengeful creature, not even the pain and suffering from your lost allowed him to let go and forgive. He couldn't do it, he was never going to forgive Morax, not even when he was being sealed in his gigantic, monstruos form.
"She didn't double-cross nor commit adultery. The sweet, precious and beautiful Y/n was my sister. She convinced me to stop fighting... Then you broke the most sacred of all contracts: Marriage"
Morax didn't show a reaction. His cold stone gaze stayed in the sea monster and shot the last one of his rock spears needed to seal him
"You shall suffer the wrath of the rock" Osial laughed after those words "You killed your wife for nothing and now you can't even ask forgiveness to her grave."
With the ritual done, Morax looked at the place where Osial now rested. Cold raindrops started to fall over him but he didn't moved. The cold water soaked his clothes, the droplets traveled over his skin and a sad smiled formed in his lips.
" What do you mean with that? We will never be apart. If you miss me or if you feel lonely, I will send rain your way. Every raindrop will be a kiss, if you get soaked it's because I'm hugging you and If the droplets trail down your body, those will be my fingers, going down your body to soothe you"
How stupid had he been. He couldn't even blame his feelings since he hadn't killed you out of rage or jealousy. He was thinking straight, he was rational when thinking that you had broke the marriage contract and needed to feel the wrath of the rock. How foolish of him, to think you would ever betray him and his love.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING MY REQUEST and again can I request hrs ( again ) x gn or male genshin impact reader the reader is the leader of Gunnhildr clan and older sibling of jean and barbara and being leader of the clan they have to be a perfect leader so there clan sadly puch him on his limit and he does not have a good child hood because there parents divorce and his not close to his siblings because they never talk to them that much and in the past before his relationship with hrs men he have a past relationship and it didn't end well his s/o in the past got killed by assassin and his afraid to reveal his relationship because he think if they found out they will send assassin again and kill the hsr
And pls take care of yourself drink, and eat
-----♡
A/N: Hello! I was a little confused on what exactly I was supposed to write about here, but I tried to piece something together for you. You also didn't really specify which characters you wanted, so I just chose two for this! Thank you for the request!<33
Featured characters: Jing yuan, Blade
Content: Established relationship, angst, fluff, mentions of assassinations, talks of estranged siblings, talks of divorce, sfw
Reader has no set pronouns!
((Not fully proofread))
-----♡
》Jing Yuan
Tumblr media
Jing Yuan was impressed by your rank as a clan reader and even more so, after he heard of the many sacrifices you had to make. He knows how hard it must've been for you growing up with the divorce of your parents and also the fact, that you don't talk to your sisters anymore due to your circumstances, which is why he reassures and comforts you alot.
He'll try helping you out with your duties and perhaps even rekindle your relationship with your sisters, if that's what you want. He'll never push you to anything however and is very patient with you. Whatever you want, he'll do.
You don't have to worry about Jing Yuan getting assassinated either, considering who and how powerful he is. If anything, the assassins are the one's who should be worried.
-----♡
》Blade
Tumblr media
He never admits it, but he finds you quite admirable for the hard and endless work you put into your clan. He may not really care for it, but he can still appreciate the sacrifices you've made. With that said, he doesn't want you to dwell on the past much and often tells you to just move forward and to never look back either. It's not worth it, when you have so much on your hands as is.
He won't push you to rekindle the relationship with your siblings and generally will just not ever bring up your past. He thinks it's best to just forget it and move on. He's not good at comforting either, but if you need someone to depend on, then he'll be there for you, even if he won't ever verbally tell you so.
You don't have to be worried about him getting assassinated either, as he is not only immortal, but won't hesitate to put someone 6 feet under, if they dare to cross him. And surely no one has that much of a death wish.
-----♡
A/N: Alright! I hope that was okay! Thank you again for the request!<33

I Failed (Childe x younger sister reader)
Tumblr media
Snezhnaya was always a cold, dangerous nation, Childe had learned that over the many years he had grown up there with his family. His family, he had always sworn to keep them safe, even if that meant he had to make himself the vilian. He had done bad things, that was something Childe couldn't deny. But to him it was all worth it when it meant he could take care of those he cared about. So how was he here now, eyes wide in horror as he took in a sight that would haunt him forever. Snow blanketed the surrounding area, coloring the ground white. Snowflakes continued to fall from the sky as Childe fell to his knees, not minding the fact that his pants were becoming soaked. He didn't mind the fact that he was shivering despite the warm clothes he had on. His mouth hung open but no words escaped. Anything he could think of saying immeaditly became caught in his throat. Childe felt like he was going to vomit, he felt like he was almost too weak to stay concious. His family was supposed to be safe, they weren't supposed to get hurt. How could he have failed at protecting them?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The day had started off completely normal, Childe was finally able to make his way back to Snezhnaya and see his family. His Fatui work had kept him so busy that all he could do was send letters most of the time. Childe trudged through the snow, the cold wind blew endlessly, and the weather would no doubt be impossible to handle for anyone who wasn't accustomed to it. Seeing his family's home come into view made Childe smile, he could already hear the sound of his siblings laughing. The sound alone warmed the male's heart, despite being seemingly heartless, he would always have a soft spot for his family. The moment he opened the door he was greeted by his two youngest siblings, (Y/N) and Tuecer. Childe's smile grew wider as he kneeled down to their height, hoisting them up into his arms as he greeted them. His Fatui work was always hard, but the moments he could share with his family were worth it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The only other color that decorated the white of Snezhnaya was red, deep red. The color stained the know, spreading out slowly. Childe finally found his strength as he stumbled over to the small, vulnerable figure of his baby sister. Her eyes were half closed and there was a large gash in her side. The rest of Childe's siblings surrounded the little girl, tears in their eyes. None of them spoke, too stricken with horror to muster up any actual words. Childe was immediately next to his baby sister, his entire body shaking. He carefully took her into his arms, tears threatening to spill over. Childe sucked in a deep breath, trying his best to comfort his sister.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What had started off as a normal day for Childe and his family, had quickly turned into something horrific. He was simply watching his youngest siblings play in the snow, but that's when everything seemed to go wrong. Childe should have kept a better eye on his siblings, he should have been more aware of the area. Maybe if he had been, things would have turned out differently. A monster had come out of nowhere, the sound of its thunderous roar echoing through the air as it charged toward Tuecer and (Y/N). At that moment, it was as if time had slowed. Childe tried to run toward his siblings, hoping he was fast enough. However, he couldn't reach them in time. The monster raised one of its arms, its claws razor-sharp. Childe was able to grab hold of Tuecer, yanking him out of the monster's way, but before he could do the same for his sister, she was knocked into the air. Her small body landed a few feet away in the snow. Childe froze in horror as the rest of his family ran outside. It was at that moment that things became blurry for Childe. He watched as Tuecer broke away from his hold and ran over to where the rest of his family were, huddled around one of the youngest.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Childe opened his mouth, trying to speak. But all he could do was cry. His sister's body was becoming heavy in his arms, and his clothes were becoming stained with blood. He pulled (Y/N) into his chest, keeping a hand on the back of her head as if he was trying to help her sleep. He could only wish that he was just helping her sleep, he didn't want to admit that his baby sister was dying in his arms. He almost shut down, the faint feeling of tears rushing down his cheeks being the only thing keeping him aware. Childe didn't dare glance at any of his other siblings, he couldn't bring himself to. Though he could feel them looking at him, and he could hear the sound of them crying. He knew he should comfort him, but he himself needed comfort at the moment. Childe's heart shattered when he felt his baby sister go still and her breathing stop. Her body soon began to grow cold as Childe finally let himself cry, his siblings hugged him. Still, none of them spoke, all of them were too stricken with grief for their fallen family member. Childe felt completely broken, he wanted to die in place of her. (Y/N) was too young, he should have been the one to take the hit. He had failed.

pspps hello my beloved sister
can u write ayato x male or gn reader? Fluff please :D
hello brother dearest :) ofc, forgive me if this is bad sobs
who is he?
[ genshin impact. ]
kamisato ayato x male! reader genre : fluff, a bit of angst warnings : pure fluff, m!reader, established relationship, nicknames used 'prince, darling' , slight ayaka x thoma, let me know if anything else should be added as i'm not good with warnings sob
cooped up in your shared bedroom with ayato, you were wrapped up in a blanket, in the middle of winter. your lover was outside again, attending to his duties as the head of kamisato clan.
life wasn't easy being the significant other of kamisato ayato, who was expected to be with some renowned princess. but he chose you, a not-so-important guy that had lived in the outskirts of inazuma. he met you through thoma, who was your best friend.
he was always busy, and you never acted as a hurdle in his way. but you still couldn't help feeling lonely and somewhat insecure, all by yourself, up in the kamisato estate.
the day turned into night in distressful solitude, and your eyes were about to flutter closed when the door creaked open, revealing none other than ayato.
he clearly looked tired, but dashing nonetheless. he flashed that charming smile of his, which made you feel as though you were falling in love all over again.
his hands fumbled with his coat as he took it off and put it away, going to freshen up quickly before he came back out in more comfortable clothes.
you invited ayato in by scooting over and opening your arms as he gladly took the invitation, pulling you into his own instead as he indulged in your warmth, your scent.
after heaving a sigh of contentment, he lifted his head and looked at you with the gentle, loving eyes of his, taking in your expression as he tilted his head.
"why does my darling look.. melancholic?" as he patted your head, you told him all about how you were feeling in just two sentences. you were dying to get it off your chest, and now that you did, it felt oddly good.
"i miss you. and i don't like the fucking way everybody thinks about me." you huff out, messing up your hair slightly as you lean in to press your lips ontop of his soft, tempting ones. you've missed this.
you missed the way his arm went around your waist and the way he kissed you back, drinking in your sigh. your lips fit with his perfectly, as if you were two puzzle pieces that are meant to be with each other.
"i'm sorry, my prince. i'll slack off work for you, and don't you dare think about the annoying folk. all they do is criticize." ayato mumbled against your lips as his kisses got slightly rougher, but still gentle.
you pulled away to regain your breath, plopping your head against his chest with a giddy smile. he always gave you all the comfort you needed, all the love and affection - more than you needed, in that case. he was everything you needed.
gosh, you were deeply in love. however, the comforting silence didn't last long as ayaka barged in with a reddened face.
"a- oh! sorry for interrupting! just here to inform that i'm going outside for a stroll with thoma.. apologies!" and she left as quickly as she had come.
you burst into fits of laughter while ayato looked puzzled, he probably didn't know whether to be happy or something else.
ayato cupped your cheeks and squished your face until you stopped laughing, he looked you dead in the eye.
"your prince is getting scared with that glare.." you mumbled stupidly as your face was literally getting squeezed.
now it was his turn to start laughing, the way his lips curled upwards and his smile reached his eyes - made you start giggling as his grip on your cheeks faltered.

The legend of the Goddess of Thunderstorms
Includes: insane!Raiden Ei x f!archon!reader (presumably romantic), fan-archon!Glasea-Labolas x reader (romantic), reader x Kunikuzushi (parental platonic)
Warnings: Genshin Impact AU; songfic, the reader is the Archon of the Oceans, the reader is prone to emotionality and therefore a little myopic, mentions of death, partial rape, angst, partial description of an aphrodisiac, forced imprisonment in captivity, violent insanity.
A/n: The work is based on the song [pyrokinesis - the legend of the goddess of thunderstorms]. Also here, the reality differs from the original plot of the game in that Ei and Makoto switched places – from the very beginning, it was Ei who was the Archon. I warn you once again that this is a job focused on dark and unhealthy relationships without a good ending. And yes, there is some merging here with the previous work about Sara, since in my mind it is one universe. Maybe I should open requests for it?.. English is still not my first language, btw.
Tumblr media
I bet you'd marvel.
The legend is not simple, La Commedia Divina.
And then there's the question:
How did the Goddess of Thunderstorms fall unrequitedly in love with the Ocean?
Raiden was glorified by three things. The unparalleled power of the storm that lurked in the depths of her palms, the severity that twisted sinners like a wild storm, and the all-seeing eye of eternity, beyond the reach of mortal exertions and untouchable to divine hands. She was the crowned ruler of thunderstorms, tearing the world to shreds and calling the universe into her arms with a teeth-baring roar of thunder. She drew landscapes and outlines of creatures on the earth's massif, powerfully named them, and waited for them to live up to the name they were given. Innocence would fall, kingdoms would crumble, and lives would follow. Truly so. For Hell, yielding to desire and rushing in the chariot of time, is an act of a higher will.
The other Archons looked at her with a strangely readable mixture of pity and condemnation, or rather, those who remained after that very War and events that took her sister in a golden spectrum of radiance. Those who had not kept Makoto safe and had barely escaped themselves. They were pitiful now. The God of the freest winds very soon fled, falling into a sound sleep and leaving his people in a fortress that resembled a keyhole from above. The God of the indestructible mountains hobbled with the blood of his loved ones and wiped his mouth with the white sleeve of robes from dead body, retreating from his duties with blind faith in the autonomy of men. The wisest of saints the Goddess of unyielding nature perished, suffocated, leaving behind only a young fragile creature amidst sturdy roots and grieving sighs. Is it worth continuing? There was, however, among the seats empty of mournful thoughts at their table a special throne, untainted, hardly alienated from itself. Yours.
Stoically enduring the blows of the stone oxen and the ships cutting the smooth skin, the God of all the seas and oceans which preceded Osial, being his child, but could not compare with the stinging Goddess of justice Focalor, the Archon of Water by birthright. The faithful called you Vine. You didn’t appreciate these people, rather you simply did your job, coming out of the sea-foam with indifference and then dipping into it. Prayers and praises did not occupy you, ancient offerings only repulsed; you understood that these were just people holding on to their Deity, but you never asked them for it. A hundred years ago you should have died. But there was one who disagreed and took a fierce blow to his chest, scattering almost instantly in a sheaf of sparks. Yes... Him.
Raiden had often seen you together. In your heart, torn by a love tinged with standing blood, there lived an Archon called Glacea-Labolas, Hades, known for his irrepressible despotism, comparable to Decorabian. Much senseless bloodshed he brought, much knowledge of science, art, and revenge, but no one could fathom what his cruel gaze was so appealing to you. Glacea-Labolas loved you, too, in his own way: he scratched your back with his claws to the rough furrows, kept you close and smiled only in your presence, humming impossibly sweet words in your ear. The serpent tempter made you lose your breath, and at one collision of glances a pulse of insane force ran through your divine vessel, making your knees tremble and your stomach twist with exhaustion. Together you were happy. At the level of monsters with no sense of intelligent communication, of course, but Morax was the first to blink approvingly; Raiden couldn't understand that. She didn't like it. She knew how clever you were, how full of passion and ambition, how mind-bogglingly powerful. You were the Esther of your age, and she had no desire to give the Persian beauty to the mad animal Baal. She wanted you for herself. When you sit beside her, the air fills with sea salt. The wet, cold, salty water that all living matter once was. It's like a dragging watercolor, an oil painting of half dreams, and Raiden suffocates from this scent like the heroine of Heliogabal's Rose, bends, merges with it and swallows it, gulps it down, revels in it to the point of exhaustion. To a stupefying stupefaction. Her knees move apart like the legs of an easel, asking for art – she has read such a perverse formulation in a novel or heard it somewhere, but it makes no difference, as long as it suits very well. You are certainly art and the ocean that washes over her shins and thighs. You cause her ecstatic spasms, and her desire only increases. It's eerie to have you. Because she is stern and strong and gets what she craves, so she doesn't even hesitate when she takes your salt-soaked hand and leads away from the general celebration, quite sure of your positive reaction to the further words spoken.
“You can't grieve forever, can you? We are supreme beings, we are more powerful than anything in the world, so why are you cooling off in this doldrums, why are you stopping?”
“Because my beloved is dead”, you said with a furrowed brow, incomprehensibly. “Isn't that a natural reaction in relationship?”
“Then start a new relationship, Y/N.”
Silence falls between you. The numb niche of furious shock that drives you mad becomes frighteningly alien. Half-seriously, half wheezing, you barely smile. Half face.
“Is this a joke?”
“Not at all.”
“Then what is it? It hasn't been a century yet, it's just unseemly”, you try to brush aside what's going on, you're visibly frightened and agitated; the mere mention of Glacea-Labolas brings tears, viscous salt, under your blue-dust-covered eyelids.
“Start a new relationship with me.”
The silence between you became almost physically palpable: it rubbed into skin, got under fingernails, and quite clearly disrupted thoughts and feelings. It made it hard to breathe. From head to toe, you were suddenly filled with a crushing, paralyzing force that pinned you to the floor like nails to a blackboard; the rage that had methodically scraped away from the blurred walls of your being by grief, and it splashed in your eyes, and the ends of your hair shone with a clear, menacing blue glow. Such you were simply beautiful...
“How dare you? No one dares to interrupt my mourning, even the people who believe in me mourn this loss, and you, Narukami Shugoshin, think you are something more worthy? Something better than us? Do you have the nerve to mock us?” you clenched your fists until your knuckles turned white, turning away from her sharply. “I am so disappointed. Please don't visit my lands again.”
Your departure was either ignored or tactfully overlooked, but Focalor, your patron, could not refrain from giving a reproachful look. Raiden was unwilling to speculate whether or not she'd heard your conversation, but, to her amazement, the rejection she'd received didn't cause the wave of despair she'd expected. Surely you didn't mean it. You're sad. Yes. Should have thought about that. Taking chopsticks in her dainty fingers, Raiden pacifically set about her meal, unconcerned about anything – she made the decision to give you time, which she thought was incredibly gracious. You'll realize you were wrong. Naturally.
Anger, like the pain of loss, cannot last forever, and Ei thought herself more right than ever.
When her sister passed away, surely Raiden was shattered – don’t consider her insensitive. Though Makoto wasn’t Archon, her strength and courage would have been worth a lesson to many: she had fought bravely, holding the fort in Inazuma, while Ei had fought with her own kind. Upon her return, she was told that Makoto had been badly wounded in the heat of battle and soon stopped fighting at all.
Despair is a hard feeling. So, in order not to bend under it, Raiden made herself stand up, straighten her shoulders, and pretend that what had happened didn’t touch her as much as it actually did; left alone, she could afford to scream and cry, but the others couldn’t see them. So the indomitable Goddess of Thunderstorms pretended, until artfully woven from her own face and posture, the lie became the truth. You were the only one who unmasked her in that time.
“I'm sorry for your loss," you said quietly after one of the meetings. “I can't imagine how hard this must be for you...”
Raiden smiled harshly.
“This loss is... irreparable. But I must move on, for the good of my people and those who rely on me, to achieve absolute balance in Inazuma. After the recent incidents, people need strong support.”
“But there is no one to support you.”
That was true. Although people worshipped her and prayed tirelessly, full of reverence, there was no one else around Ei on whose shoulder she could rest without remorse. Yae Miko would tease and bring it up, though she would certainly help in a time of need, and Raiden made no friends among the Archons. That trust was too fleeting and, as time had shown, too risky.
“I don't need support," Ei finally concluded, a little twisted in her rugged soul. “Not anymore. Makoto was the one and only, and now I have to learn how to live without her.”
“All alone?”
“If I have to.”
Your eyes reflected a deep sadness, and, looking into them for a moment, the proud Goddess of Thunderstorms was afraid to swallow, turning her gaze back to the meadow. You, Ocean, were ambivalent in your moods: sometimes you raged like the most terrible disaster, mercilessly leveling the mountains and spitting out the brutally battered remains of ships, and then you became warm and calm, so motionless that one touch of you seemed to convey a sense of peace. Raiden didn't know what to expect if accepted your pity. Perhaps you would confine yourself to a brief caress, or maybe would plunge her into attention and then rob her of it a second later, not the least bit tormented by regret. But it would be pleasant, suppose, to feel lungs burning under the pressure of your hands, and heart beating hideously fast, wanting to get just one more look... You would fist her heart, not hard enough to kill, but enough to make her grasp the edges of your clothes with trembling hands, falling to her knees and begging, pleading, whimpering... You would...
“Don't you have more important things to do?” frightened by her own thoughts, Raiden asked, raising the electric ripple in her gaze to a maximum.
“Well, we're done with Celestia's business and figured out where Barbatos went. I think I'm free enough to feel sorry for you.”
Don't smile like you have no idea what you're doing.
“I hate pity.”
“But you deserve it, don't you? Not in a negative way, more as a relief,” you unobtrusively moved closer. “Tell me about it. As a perfect Archon, it's essential for you to be free of worry, to have nothing to cloud your thoughts, you know?”
It's a tricky move, that is what Baal knows. Yet, with a feigned nibble of her lips, she did as you said, opened her soul the very least; and then, when you met, she did it again and again, until there was nothing left that your ears didn’t know about. And your empathy, uninterrupted by a storm of recriminations, was truth healing. You just listened with a soft look, sometimes gently brushing her thick, luxurious hair, whose light sparks of incipient lightning ran through it as it split into strands. Together you once spent about half a century in the farthest room, enclosed behind a billion passageways and walls, just talking. Raiden anticipated that she would want something like this before, so she created a doll that looked exactly like herself. The Shogun obediently executed the protocols embedded in it while the softened Ei lounged at your attention.
“What would you want for your people?” she asked one day, running her fingers mechanically over the patterns on your clothes.
“Mm... That's a difficult question. You know how I feel about them. If they're in trouble, I'll help them, of course, but otherwise I don't care what they do. I mean... How can I explain it?.. I believe that people should not depend on the Archons. Yes, we make their lives easier and more colorful, but what will they be if they lose the will to do everything themselves? Think of the state Sumeru is in right now. Hades was there recently, he told me...”
“I didn't know you talked to him.”
So Raiden, who was already madly in love with you, found out that someone else had encroached on your heart and won without a loud declaration of war.
Rejected by the Sea her grief, her tears, and pain and will and love, her feelings loaded, pressed on her shoulders with an unbearable weight and caused a strong headache. The insatiable immensity of what might be revealed to her gaze demanded a way out of the painful trance she was in; she had neither the strength nor the desire to return to that sticky darkness. Something had happened to her will. Raiden didn't want to deprive herself of the dizzying pain of looking at your stirring silhouette, irresistible and distant – a decade left since your fight, and at any other point in her life, Ei wouldn’t have noticed it with just a blink or two, but now the days had a tendency to drag on like an eternity. Raiden didn't want you to stop visiting her thoughts, filling her completely, she didn't want to give up the pleasure of imagining the ways in which you could be shackled in countless rooms or underground caverns known only to her. She could forge chains that would coil around your legs and neck, taking energy, weakening you, or she could create a crystal dome under the ground of Tsurumi Island with enough water to keep you comfortable, but no one you could talk to. Just her, popping in now and then and beginning to associate with the emotion of happiness. Raiden thinks you'd look great under glass, like a butterfly. If your limbs were immobilized, if given only enough air and energy to sustain life minimally, you would forever be as artful as she keeps you in the shards of memory. Beautiful, ready to listen, malleable. Raiden would take care of your people, even make these people of the sea her own people, introduce them to Inazuma – is that not the highest expression of her favor? You should be grateful; of course, not that you are aware of all these thoughts, but Ei will expect at least a "thank you" in the future. In her arms, you will no longer have to grieve for the withered God of Death; you will always be happy. You will have to be happy to keep your relationship as beautiful as Raiden imagines it to be – she will work, too, no doubt, and your life will be like a fairy tale.
Gradually the Goddess of Thunderstorms, observing the Eternal Sakura, came up with the perfect kind of dungeon for you; the sketches are drawn in her crackled mind on their own, looking perfect. Baal was never a fool: no matter how much she wished otherwise, she knew that you would never love her after what she would do to you, and she would do it because it would be better for both of you. Would, would, would… Will. You just can't understand it. That's all right: Raiden herself loves and can imagine how she would feel if you left her so completely. Perhaps relieving you of your grief and despair is the greatest gift Ei is capable of. She sets to work immediately, looking far more obsessed with it than with order in Inazuma, and Shogun gladly replaces her; Yae Miko remains silent, but her judgment burns back even miles away from the temple. The Goddess of Thunderstorms has decided this: if she cannot have the Ocean, then let her at least have some of It at all costs, separating her resentment, hatred, and pain from herself.
**
Waiting out your moment of calm was not easy. You've been angry and raging a lot lately; Barbatos, your closest friend, kept sleeping somewhere you couldn't reach, and Nahida, no matter how hard she tried, couldn't replace Rukkhadevata in your heart. Morax stiffened before your eyes, becoming calmer and more distant, and the Tsaritsa disappeared altogether, declaring a new war – it hurt you so much that the storms did not pass for six months, killing many people. Raiden didn't blame you: your heart felt too much for anyone who was ever kind to you, and you were so happy when you joined the Archons that you loved them all instantly. Some more than others, some less, in fact, you valued them as family, though in Ei's opinion, not all deserved it.
When your storm subsided and you, exhausted, were left without Morax's attention – he felt obligated after the death of the Goddess of Salt – Raiden decided to take the first step.
“I was wrong," she admitted quietly, approaching you, so alone in the vastness of Underwater Realm, and sitting down beside you. “I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.”
“Misunderstanding, ha? You knew how I felt about it, and yet you desecrated Hades' memory in that way.”
“I apologize. My behavior was indeed inappropriate, and if I had the chance to go back, I never would have said those words.” Ei shifted her gaze from the shimmering mother-of-pearl belly of the whale floating overhead to your chin line, cheekbones, and insistently averted eyes; she was lying, but it was the only way to make you hear. “I'm sorry. Perhaps I really don't do well without Makoto.”
The sad smile on her face finished the image. Raiden hated herself for mentioning her sister's name for this case, but your face, instantly contorted with empathy, was worth it. She knew you wouldn't resist.
“Hey..." you whispered softly. “Has it really been all this time..?”
“Please. Just believe I'm sorry, Y/N. I know how much you loved Glacea-Labolas, and of course I should have given it time; nothing can justify my ignorance. However, I would be very grateful if you knew that my words... my offer is sincere. I do have feelings for you, and that will never change; this is the first time it has happened to me. You are the most amazing and attractive Archon I have ever known. Your power is awe-inspiring and your uniqueness is admirable. So if one day you should wish...”
She doesn’t have time to finish her truly touching tirade when you gently move up and pull her into your warm embrace. It's hard to call it unexpected, but Raiden is melting for a few moments, melting from the newly turned sun with your name on it.
“I'm sorry I can't reciprocate, Ei. Really, I'm very, very sorry. But I'll try to make it up to you in friendship, if that's okay..?”
Wouldn't expect anything else, so the Goddess of Thunderstorms smiles a little more sincerely and nods. You decided to take this step only after listening to a cheap confession from a novel read by Baal not so long ago. How trite and predictable, yet how good it is that everything went strictly according to plan. You took the bait.
**
Your relationship has certainly changed since then. Raiden couldn't help but wonder if this was how Hades felt in your presence, when you had surrounded him with your special attention and care. The attention was different, of course, but now you were also trying to be affectionate enough to heal the wounds of Makoto's death; Ei felt a little uncomfortable using that trauma as an excuse, but there was no other way. You were beginning to let your guard down.
If she had to describe her feelings, she would have said, "Something spicy and bloody." Meat, well coated with spices. She chews it thoroughly, swallowing as the graceful collar of her robes slides down and up in time with her gulps; Raiden was carnivorous, and the metaphorical eating of you brought her to some stage of rapture.
She couldn't wait to taste it.
The table is already set: she didn't need people or Yae Miko to organize everything, so of course she hoped you'd at least compliment her. There is nothing she won't do, after all; time with you promised to be wonderful to the highest degree.
The feeling that Ei carelessly called "love" wheezed suffocatingly in your chest, twisting tight knots around Gnosis, and making her look at your serene face with scorching hunger. You shouldn't have been so careless.
You are, after all, an Archon...
**
Long tubes with gold plugs were very carefully inserted into the veins in your arms; Archons had no blood, but there was liquid energy, in your case represented by brackish water. It was pumped into a cylindrical tank, huge, dense, thick glass, and mixed there with a purple liquid; for a moment, the thought flashed through you that perhaps it was Ei’s energy. There were others besides these tubes. Many. Some served as arm and leg restraints in a rather uncomfortable pose, others hung side by side, dangling limply in a light draught. Everything was floating before your eyes, but when Raiden appeared in the cave, you felt her electrified presence well.
“How do you feel?” she asked calmly, keeping her tone surprisingly soft, as if the situation were not extraordinary.
“What’s... going on?”
“Oh, you mustn't exert yourself too much. Your energy is just enough to keep you viable, but unfortunately, not to negotiate. Someday I'll fix that.”
Someday. A single word was enough to determine the duration of your situation – presumably: eternity. And there's no telling what will happen to you during that time.
“The other Archons," Ei continued, stepping closer and picking up another tube, slightly larger and longer than the others, "believe that you are dead. I've come up with a very plausible explanation, but I don't think you'll be interested in it; open your mouth.”
She pressed your cheeks a little bit, executing the command herself, and, to the protest of your slightly dilated eyes, she began to slowly and gently insert the tube into your throat. Unbearably disgusting.
“I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Believe me, it's only for now, I'll get it later and make you feel as comfortable as possible. Just be patient for a while," she murmured affectionately, "good girl, good. Thought you would start to resist and I’d have to resort to other methods.”
The sensation of an oblong tube in your throat, ending somewhere among organs, taking up absolutely all the space, made you want to scream. You’d have caused the most devastating storm, and it would have gone down in history, but unfortunately, Raiden – and there was no doubt about it now – had taken care of everything. You couldn't have created a drop if you'd had the strength to lift a finger.
“I understand your bewilderment. But look, you didn't want to be with me, so I thought, why not do it myself? No one will come looking for you, I'll take care of everything, and it's just your job to satisfy my gaze and desires when necessary. Quite a bargain, Morax would say, if he knew about it, but I promise he won't. Besides, I've decided to charge a small fee for taking care of your people; I hope you think it's fair.”
Baal smiled softly.
“It was hard to find this information, but Nahida, the wonderful child, was so eager to be useful that she didn't even wonder where my interest came from,” she stepped closer and slowly began to get rid of your layers of interfering clothing. “At least part of you will love me. But for that part to come into being, I have to do what Hades was so scared of. You know, he thought you were a saint. He feared that if he touched you too foully, you would crumble like a crystal vessel, a figure made of water by trembling weak hands – he said so himself, before he, ironically, met death in that battle. But I am different. I'm much better than he was, and you're bound to feel it.”
Well, in that moment you felt three things: the way the tube trembled, filled with purple energy flowing into you, the way fingers entered your vessel, several at once, without warning and too sharply. And an unexpected readiness to receive them. A moment ago you were filled with anger and disgust, but when the foreign energy flowed into your stomach, everything quickly turned upside down, generating a shameless desire so powerful it made you dizzy. You simultaneously hated Raiden, you hated yourself, you hated the situation you were in, and you longed to know more of the possibilities that Ei could fulfill by using your human vessel as she saw fit. Under the overwhelming pressure of cognitive dissonance, your pupils visibly broke, spraying tear-stained eyes, and your mind was cracking at the seams, not knowing which thought was right and which principles to adhere to. It was too much, even for an Archon.
You could hear Raiden breathing. Breaking, hot. You wanted more, and maybe Ei saw it in your hazy gaze. Her energy inside you was stronger than any potion, spreading through your body like a virus – it was eating into your cells, mixing, and you were slowly beginning to feel... like her? A few strands of your hair slowly turned a deep blue, and your left eye turned lilac. The voice of your thoughts became remotely similar to Ei's timbre, until you finally realized what she meant: she could only get a part of you by mixing you two up and growing as if from a test tube. She was making you half of her, because that was the only way to get around Celestia's laws.
“Can you feel it?” she asked, reaching down to your neck and biting it, deep, to the bright purple marks. “Do you understand me?”
You wanted to answer yes and no at the same time. Hate and love mingled together, conveying a madness to you.
**
It didn't take much effort for Raiden to get the sea foam. She was careful to mix it with her energy to get a drop of the cursed seed, and, dancing off, in hideous sin the Goddess of Thunderstorms impregnated herself, while you, rid of your tubes, lay limply beneath the earth of Seirai Island. Where no light shone, beneath the ruins of the catacombs, beneath the Thunderbird platform, beneath the water poisoned by lightnings, it was there that Raiden had erected a citadel of ice – a shelter from the world where her beloved woman and the wind-born child, born in captivity from a cursed womb and without a soul, were safely hidden. Ei believed that she would love this creature as much as she loved you. Really believed.
She built a cradle, inlaid with stones of elements, visited him when she visited you – it was inevitable, because you, lost and maddened, considered the only bastion of your peace as young Kunikuzushi, the beautiful child whom you adored despite all that you had gone through for his birth. Even in his cradle, he always felt your love, smiling at the first sight of you. He didn't feel Raiden's love at all.
What a pain: his parent, as much as she wanted to, couldn’t love her chimera and locked him in the ice.
Baal assumed that loving a child born of your energy would be as easy as loving you, but she failed to consider that, in fact, she never truly loved you. This became clear when feelings for an emotional child, crying from the simplest things and weak without his mother's touch, didn’t appear as soon as she expected. This was not in her plans, and therefore discouraging. Raiden seemed to have gotten everything she could from you, everything she wanted, and now, looking at your lost silhouette, she felt neither pity nor warmth. You no longer wandered through her thoughts. You no longer made her heart race. To her surprise, Ei was no longer sick of you, infecting you with herself like some kind of revenge. And, having come to this conclusion, it was with a sense of relief that the Goddess of Thunderstorms, frustrated in her experience, left Seirai Island with your Gnosis as compensation for "lost time and effort," cutting off Kunikuzushi's bedroom from yours with an impenetrable wall.
**
“Don't be angry, please. Don't be angry.”
“Argh, come on, Mom, I'm not angry. I'm furious as fuck!”
The precious child grew faster when Raiden stopped coming. Perhaps her energy, poisonous and effervescent, was inhibiting growing up, because Ei certainly never wanted a pet, but she was obsessed with growing the fruit of the Gods. Experimentation never interested her; what involved using you for her purposes and crossing you with her own ideas, though, she liked very much, and you were even glad that for the last hundred years Baal hadn't thought of you. Well, as happy as a completely broken Archon can be, lost it’s Heart and the lion's share of energy, a completely weakened God with a screwed-up mind. Besides, sometimes, in particularly violent storms, you could see a little with "Ei's eye," see what she was doing, what she was looking at, who was looking back. Lately it has been a tengu-girl with dead eyes – you would know that look from a thousand; you knew that only those who have lost their love look like that. Because you looked the same way.
You couldn't say that even with the energy of Baal you could call her "dear someone". No, don't think so. It was a betrayal, along with the thick tube in your throat, penetrating under the root of your tongue, running down your larynx, into your stomach, into your intestines. It grew like mold, and with each passing year it gradually crushed the effect of the alien cells. Besides, Ei didn't like you now, either.
And your weak voice, sounding no louder than a draught, filled Kunikuzushi with a keen sense of injustice. Unlike Raiden, you cared for him through the wall even better than circumstances allowed.
“When we get out..." he often swore, gritting his teeth. “When we get out, I'll give her hell on earth. I'll return you your Heart, become God myself, and… and I’ll be a thousand times better, promise – do you believe that?”
“Of course," you answered softly. “Of course I believe you.”
“Good. Because I’m going to change everything. We are to put her here, right in your place, and I’ll give you everything and you're going to get better. You'll be strong and powerful like you used to be. And happy, so-so happy!”
You know that's just a dream. There is no escape from the ice citadel, but your voice is filled with the unbreakable love that always saves Kunikuzushi from breaking his mind. You call yourself his first follower. After all, it's the least you can do for a desperate child who has never seen the light.
But you both know that love of all things divine is unnatural.

the winds is a welcome coolness that blows across alatus’s face, his cheeks warm and pinkened by the sight of his goddess singing softly while sewing a massive tapestry that she wished to be hung in rex lapis’ throne room, her voice enchanting both him as well as the rest of the private soldiers at her beck and call. the golden guards on her pinky and ring fingers glinting in the light of the sun and her hands worked swiftly to procure the most recent story she wished to tell through a tapestry: that of the birth of herself and her brother, all the way to his victory in both of their names during the archon war. bosacius, both smiling and warm-eyed, arrives with more fibrous materials from lands distant to them all, material that y/n would weave into a thread that glowed gold with the power of gods older than their five lifespans put together. the twin goddess and other half to their beloved morax had a talent for weaving that humans and gods alike cast awed gazes upon, for the stories she told in her tapestries and blankets were unlike any others that could be created by hands mortal and non.
bonanus sighs happily, resting her arms and head on one of the goddess’s thighs as the other was taken up by the incomplete part of the tapestry she was weaving by hand, and every now and then the older woman would clutch the jade needle she sewed with between the fingers that gripped the tapestry’s cloth in favor of gently caressing her face or petting her hair.
a small smile twists alatus’s lips as indarias comes up the stone steps to their goddess’s home in the mountains, kneeling before smiling an announcing three mortal’s arrival at the foot of said mountain. “what would you have me do, my lady?” indarias asks quietly, her voice betraying the fact that she wore a smile of her own, and the four yaksha present shiver when the singing comes to an end and the golden gaze of the geo archon’s sister locks on her.
“continue leading them up the mountain, indarias,” y/n says softly, a gentle look in her eyes that caresses the mountain as sweetly as her hand did bonanus’ face when she looks out upon them. “they have journeyed this far and kept their hearts pure on their journey — do not let them falter or lose their way. i want to meet them.”
indarias nods and says, “as you wish,” before disappearing in a leap of flames that disappear into the wide, open sky above them. alatus leans back against the trunk of the tree, one leg hanging down from the branch he rested on, and his soft smile widens as his watchful gaze softens.
he loved days like this.
when y/n and morax had happened upon him all those years ago, a pitiful slave to his former master, morax had initially wished to strike him down — but y/n had placed one hand on his chest and had held him back from doing so before kneeling before him ( him! ) and speaking to him as she would an equal. it had shocked him at the time, and the fondness in her eyes had struck a chord in morax that had led to him assisting in freeing alatus before presenting him to his sister in hopes of pleasing her.
alatus was no fool. he’d known at the time, just as surely as he knew now, that morax wasn’t saving him for his sake, but rather the notice of his younger sister. where morax was the archon of liyue, worshiped by all who called the nation their home, the only being he had and would ever worship was his sister, who was widely referred to as the nation’s golden flower as paired with the archon’s title of golden warrior; he wanted her approval and craved her affection, greedy towards her in a way that few understood other than the five primary yaksha he’d collected on her behalf. they’d all been delivered to her as brutally efficient soldiers with the intent of protecting her from harm on behalf of the geo archon himself, but over time their collective animosity towards serving the goddess had faded upon realizing that she’d never intended for them to be any sort of slave when she’d offered them freedom should they wish it to each of them in turn as soon as they’d arrived, and they’d all leapt for it, each losing the collars of gold morax had clasped around their necks before presenting them to y/n, and they’d disappeared into the mountains and valleys of liyue — but, one by one, the five that called themselves hers had returned.
the first to fall back into her gentle grasp had been bosacius, who had told all that had returned after him the story of how he’d traveled the entire world before returning to her after finding something within him missing no matter where he’d chosen to go — something that had been restored as soon as he’d crossed her threshold in the mountains, this time of his own volition. bosacius enjoyed speaking of his first days back where he’d mock his younger self until y/n scolded him gently with a fond smile on her face whenever someone amongst the six of them asked. many had come after him, delivered to y/n’s feet by the hands of rex lapis, and all had fled until one finally returned, the second to ever do so — and that had been indarias.
after being freed and insulting bosacius for so blindly serving the goddess he did, she’d run to the lands of natlan, where rivers of fire flowed freely and emotions were free to be kept unbridled ( at least, so said the stories that they’d all heard while in past servitude ) — but, like with bosacius, she’d felt something off, like she was missing something she held dear… and she’d returned. she’d been certain she wouldn’t be welcomed back, but had been pleasantly surprised to be welcomed back with open arms.
bonanus had come next, but she’d fled back to y/n’s haven in the mountains after less than a week, uncomfortable with the way life had changed after her rigorous training with morax had ended and craving the gentle touch that came from her new mistress. many years passed after this before menogias was dropped upon their doorstep by morax, and he’d left just as swiftly as he’d arrived, returning months later with a cold outlook on the world he’d gone out to see that had eventually given way to a warmth that only y/n had been able to provide him with.
alatus had been last; he’d returned within a month.
he hated remembering the time he’d run away.
the question of why they’d all returned so willingly when the urge to run had been so great when they first arrived still hadn’t been answered even a thousand years later, but regardless they had refrained from skipping worship of their goddess ever since.
thunder booms in the distance, making the three present yaksha go on alert; y/n loved the rain, but rain risked the tapestry she was weaving, so she’d likely want to go somewhere dry.
“bonanus, help me carry this inside please,” she asks quietly. “alatus?” xiao’s heartbeat quickens once he realizes he’s been called, and he’s standing at attention in front of her within a second. she smiles at him, and his pink cheeks darken slightly as he declines his head out of respect for her. “go and fetch menogias from the riverbend please, and call for indarias to ease the travelers into a safe place to rest then return; i want you all close to me.”
xiao’s bowing in an instant and then gone the next, giving the messages to the appropriate yaksha before returning to his mistress’ side and taking bonanus’ place knelt at her feet nearby a fire that roared within a massive hearth. he heard bonanus whine in complaint before the feeling of her hands tugging insistently at his hair make him grumble loud enough for y/n to intervene.
“now now, bonanus — that isn’t very nice. how would you feel if alatus was pulling on your hair like that?” her tone is that which she would take on when scolding a child, and it makes bonanus look down at her feet and flush in shame. xiao just buried his face in the flesh of her thigh; he could tease bonanus later maybe, but for now he wanted to bask in the glow that came with being so close to his goddess.
indarias and menogias both arrived at the same time, and moments after they enter the rain comes pouring down hard enough to bounce off the stones outside. all five take their places lounging around the area at her feet as she takes her tapestry back in hand and resumes weaving it, returning to singing her song as the fire crackles within the hearth and the rain pours down outside.
before long all of the others are asleep aside from alatus and his goddess. morax has long since entered their haven and gone to rest elsewhere within it. alatus does not want to sleep and leave y/n alone with her thoughts, but her voice is so soothing and his eyes are so heavy.
when he finally allows himself to drift off into a dreamless sleep, its to the sound of his goddess in his ears and her adoration surrounding him, and he’s truly never been happier.
