the first concerto Event Story Summary

TL;DR: Toya's task from Ken to surpass RAD WEEKEND is to write the songs for the event, the feelings of his team embodied within the lyrics and sound. Toya studies some of his father's books on composition to help, but despite all his attempts, he cant get a sound with the same sort of heat as RAD WEEKEND. In a desperate attempt, Toya asks his father for advice. Harumichi feels as if there is no pride within Toya's works.

Toya continues to write for months, but fails every time to create the right sound. He cuts back on sleep to spend more time composing. Toya ends up nearly collapsing in SEKAI from dizziness because of it. While taking care of him, MEIKO realizes Toya has analyzed everyone's feelings except his own. She encourages him to take a look into his own past, despite the pain.

Whenever Toya tries to recall his past, all he can think about is the guilt he feels over running away. He believes someone like him, who ran away before, doesn't have the resolve to carry the dreams of those aiming to surpass RAD WEEKEND. Toya screams in frustration, leading his father to enter his room.

Harumichi questions why Toya chooses to only look at the pain from his days of classical music. Though he did run away in the end, Toya had always faced music head-on. That dedication puts him leagues above anyone he'll ever face on the streets, so he should look upon his past with pride. Toya realizes the truth to his father's words, and having finally truly embraced his past, writes a song with the heat to surpass RAD WEEKEND.

After showing it to his team, Toya brings the song to Souma. Toya invites him to come watch the next event.

Chapter 1: Toya's task from Ken was to make the songs that will surpass those at RAD WEEKEND. The songs he'd written with Taiga and Nagi had all of their passion within them; to match, Toya will have to write with the feelings of all of his group. Ken wants Toya specifically to write them for his ability to put feelings into sounds and lyrics from a history of classical music. Though it's an insurmountable task, Toya accepts.

Chapter 2: To better understand the feelings of his team, Toya interviews them all in SEKAI and writes their thoughts in a journal. KAITO stops by to see what's up, impressed by the level of depth Toya's gone in his notes. Toya wants to be as detailed as possible so he can truly understand the feelings of others. KAITO offers his support.

Later that night, Toya begins thinking about the first song. He wants to include all of the exhilaration, doubt, and courage his team feels regarding the event. To learn more about composing, Toya decides to borrow some of his father's reference books.

Chapter 3: Toya completes a demo for the first song. Though it's not bad, it lacks the heat he's searching for. He decides to scrap the song and start over.

A week passes, but he's still unable to compose a satisfactory sound. Though he begins to doubt his ability, Toya knows the others are relying on him and carries on. After hearing his father arrive home, Toya hesitantly decides to ask him for advice out of desperation.

Toya asks for Harumichi to listen to the song, but he refuses. Still, Toya insists and explains the importance of surpassingRAD WEEKEND. Harumichi reveals he's already heard Toya playing his songs on his speaker, and that there is no pride to be heard within them. Toya decides to start over again.

Chapter 4: Toya discusses his struggles with the rest of his team. Though they agree his songs are good, they're still not to the level of RAD WEEKEND. They all try suggesting ways to make them better, but they still end up feeling lacking. On a walk home, Akito encourages him to keep moving forward.

Though Toya's studied all sorts of music and received all sorts of input, he still cannot find that heat. He feels lost, fearing he'll let his team down. Toya briefly remembers the words he'd spoken when he ran away from classical music. He resolves to never run away again. A

A month later, Toya's mother tells Harumichi of her concern about Toya's health. He's begun cutting back on sleep and eating to focus on writing songs.

Chapter 5: Toya has a nightmare about playing piano as a child. He doesn't want to let everyone down, but wonders how long he'll have to keep playing before he'll meet their expectations. He wakes up with a jolt and suppresses those feelings. He has to finish at least one song. Toya's mother knocks on his door and asks if he's alright. She suggests taking a break, so Toya goes on a walk.

However, the moment he leaves the house, he goes to SEKAI to work instead. Toya suddenly gets extremely dizzy. MEIKO finds him crouched down in a corner. Though he tries to resist, she forces him to accept her help.

Once Toya starts feeling a bit better, MEIKO asks him to go back and get some proper rest. Toya tells her more about his struggles to incorporate everyone's feelings into a song. She asks to see Toya's notebook and realizes he's never written down his own feelings. MEIKO suggests trying to explore his personal journey with music, too. Toya doesn't want to think back on his feelings from before, but MEIKO urges him to since she believes that's the source of his struggles.

Chapter 6: Later, Toya begins his self reflection. He remembers the first day he'd ever played piano; his sound was flat, but his father's so beautiful. That disparity intrigued him and sparked his love of music. However, it also began his father's strict practice regimen. Even being near a piano made him feel tense.

After a performance in middle school, his father had approached him. He said that though Toya's performance wasn't bad, he still had a long way to go before he truly understood music, but he might get there someday. Toya was incredibly proud of himself; it was the first time he'd ever received praise from his dad.

The pressure only grew from there. It reached a point where he broke and decided to give up. He'd doubted he'd ever reach the place his father wanted him to, lashed out, and ran away. Toya refused to be tied down by classical music anymore.

Though Toya knows he shouldn't feel that self-doubt anymore, the pain of his past still haunts him. Toya realizes his guilt over betraying his family's expectations are the source of his fears of letting down the others with his new songs. He can't write a song with pride because he doesn't feel proud of the him that ran away. Toya screams in frustration.

Chapter 7: Harumichi enters Toya's room after he shouted. Toya's confused as to why, since this hasn't happened since he quit. Toya decides to ask his father to listen to his songs one more time. He knows why he's struggling, and that's exactly why he needs his father's help. Toya denies that he's abandoning himself. He feels so guilty about before that he can't carry his teammates feelings now, but refuses to run away. He tells Harumichi about Nagi and RADder and begs one more time for his father's opinion.

His father suggests that perception is the root of Toya's problem. Toya ran away. He cannot change that. Yet, Harumichi belives Toya will be able to defeat RAD WEEKEND. Even though he ran away in the end, Toya still embraced classical music, day and night, for twelve years. He's never lacked dedication.

Toya remembers a scene from his childhood, one he's recalled before. His father forced him to keep rehearsing until he got it right, even though Toya's fingers ached. He tried again, and again, and finally reached the end. His father said he could be done for the day, but Toya wasn't satisfied with himself. He asked if he could play one more time.

Harumichi asks why Toya will only focus on the fact he ran away, why the only things he chooses to remember are the guilt and betrayal. He believes Toya should be proud of his days as a classical musician. No matter who Toya goes up against, he will always have more determination in the face of music.

Chapter 8: Vivid Street has begun buzzing after Akito's performance in Burn My Soul. Meanwhile, Toya shows the others his finished song. The others are incredibly impressed: it carries the heat of RAD WEEKEND and beyond. Toya tells them about how the him from the past, the one who faced classical music with his all, was the one who kept him from running away again. Toya's incredibly happy to have made his teammates proud.

Later, Toya goes to visit Souma. Arata still hasn't spoken to him since the events of Light Up the Fire. Toya tells Souma that their next event will be the one to surpass RAD WEEKEND and asks if he'd listen to his song. It brought Souma to tears. Toya invites him to their event.

After, the rest of the team asks how the meeting went. Toya's confident their feelings got through to him.

Hirogaru Sky Final Impressions (5/5)

Honestly, what were they going to do with those two weeks after 48 episodes? Have us wait until WonPre's broadcast? Yea right, lol

So the 20th installment of Precure is now officially finished and it feels both great and a little bit sad to say that since the bar has been readjusted quite high, we will probably need the 25th anniversary to get another season as awesome and well-written as HiroPre. [/harsh]

But that will be for something to worry about in the next five years.

So first, that finale!

Pretty much 5(ish) of the 6 last episodes was a whole arc dedicated to the most engaging lore Precure has ever given us to date.

Cure Noble is definitely entering the league of legacy Cures and perhaps as the one with the best story as well. How she went from princess-sovereign to becoming the very first Precure (in this universe, anyways) to helping pave a way for peace with her nemesis to laying out the foundation for the Cures who will succeed her in the future.

Yeap, Ellee-chan may have gotten a nice age-up bonus so that we can see her embrace her destiny and actually converse in something other than baby talk.

But it's more accurate to say that Ellee-chan/Cure Majesty's character arc is really Princess Elleelain/Cure Noble's instead.

Which is totally fine with me. Not only was Elleelain super interesting as a hero/protagonist in her own era but Kaiserin was...dear god.

Dear god, when have we gotten a twist that was this good and this dark by the series' standards? I felt we haven't touched this level of grim writing since Heartcatch and that was my first Precure season ever.

But seriously, it's impossible not to sympathize with Kaiserin and appreciate how much she contributed to the plot as well as this season's message that power is not what makes a hero, but the strength of one's heart that does.

Even her traitorous tutor, Skearhead, said she had what it took to become a hero (and maybe even Precure? oooh~), which just makes her fall into darkness more tragic.

But thankfully, she never lost her kindness and compassion, which was what ultimately allowed her to not only be saved but her wounds to finally heal after hundreds of years of suffering from the pain of betrayal Skearhead had inflicted on her.

And that her generals, who all turned over a new leaf, came back to the Undergu Empire to loyally serve her and make sure she isn't alone...

Good! This is so satisfying, I couldn't have asked for anything better! Kaiserin deserves her happiness after all she's been through!

But of course, that's not all because no Precure finale is complete without the last episodes dishing out the best combat scenes of the entire season and did it deliver, alright.

Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-HUH!

The animation was absolutely stellar and not so overdone that it'd look more gaudy than cool. coughDeliPaPrecough

Moreover, the teamwork is what really sold the animation. As it should because Precure is all about that team effort brought on by personal growth, not a one-man show.

I loved how Wing, representing wisdom, was the one everyone trusted to get that barrier back up because it is a mechanism that he researched and developed to help everyone. It proves that boys don't need to fit into a specific mold of masculinity or genius to be a hero because in the end, those things don't matter. It's being true to yourself, your beliefs and your dreams and what you choose to do with those abilities that counts.

I loved how Butterfly, who is physically the strongest in the group, always takes on the tougher tasks such as facing the army of tedious mooks to let those younger than her forge a path ahead. She never forgets her responsibility as an adult to protect the kids but she also encourages them to move forward because she fully believes in them like a good adult would.

I loved how Majesty comes to understand that though she's meant to inherit Cure Noble's will and power and position as Skyland's princess, it's not her destiny to inherit Elleelain's loneliness. And the whole reason that she started out as a baby but was able to grow and become Precure was because she was surrounded by the right people who brought out that potential in her. For Ellee-chan, being with her friends and fighting alongside them was the bigger, more important destiny than her duty was.

Finally, the star duo of the show.

Sky was given stronger MC vibes than the other cast members but you can't deny that she wouldn't have gotten this far without Prism by her side.

Sora's idea of what it means to be hero expanded a lot because she became friends with Mashiro.

She has come to treasure Mashiro so much that when she was on the brink of losing her best friend, she let Skearhead corrupt her in order to have enough power to save that best friend. She was willing to sacrifice herself for someone important to her, which in a way, can be seen as an act of heroism (but only as a last resort, plz do not attempt).

And even then, Sky kept resisting from being taken over. Prism didn't even flinch when Sky aimed a punch at her. That's how much Mashiro believes in Sora, in the hero that Sora is. That even if Sora accepted darkness into herself to do the right thing, she won't ever let that darkness consume her into doing the wrong thing.

And the fact that it was Prism who had the ability to not only purify Sky but also heal Kaiserin's centuries-old wound. She's come a long way herself from the girl who used to think she was talentless, who didn't believe she had anything special going for her.

"You are good as you are now, Mashiro-san."

What Sora said was true until the very end. Mashiro didn't ever need to change. She was already good enough and she was always going to become even better than how she started out because she was always being inspired and supported by those around her and challenging herself to do things she initially hesitated on doing.

Now she's continually drawing new stories, even winning an award for one. Even her Prism Shot evolved and multiplied as an attack and it's all because she learned to believe in herself because all her friends believed in her.

This is essentially what sets Precure apart from the others, what makes it the major name it is in modern day mahou shoujo.

I cannot begin to describe how glad I am that the staff at Toei reinforced those aspects of friendship as well as the celebration of individualism in a milestone year. But I can definitely say with confidence that we can expect to see more well into the franchise's 30th anniversary as long they don't forget these two very crucial things.

As for me, I think this will be the last time I blog Precure on a "regular" basis.

I'll still continue to watch cuz hey, there's no reason for me to stop yet.

(and all the more reason to not stop if Satoru and Daifuku become the next two male Cures in WonPre OMGI'MSOGONNAJINXTHISAREN'TIBWUAHAHAHAHA!!!)

But my priorities have shifted so I gotta tend to those foremost. And as much as I enjoy the show, I feel like I'm always saying the same stuff over and over again anyway, just in different variations of it.

(also, something about WonPre tells me the next four years will be filled with hit-or-miss seasons so meh, I'd rather just follow it leisurely than get too invested and then disappointed)

On another note, I do have some personal rankings that I'd like to post some day. I was going to do it for the 20th anniversary but didn't have time to cuz life got way too hectic and busy but yea, eventually I'll have them up.

Just for fun, y'know.

why is the rhine lab manga so fucking good, this chapter alone with saria leaving the feather, the TWO SEPRATE PANELS of 1. Silence seeing saria about to stab ifrit and 2. Silence cradling ifrit and looking at saria with pure fear and contempt in her eyes, SARIA CASUALLY PUNCHING A PILLAR SO HARD IT FALLS, AND THEN WHEN KIRSTEN COUNTERS HER CALCIFICATION SHE JUST BAREHANDED PUCNHES HER BARRIER UNTIL IT BREAKS. SHUTTERS IT MEANS EVERYTHING TO ME

It speaks to the strength of the writing where even if the translation can be stiff with its wording and has common errors (I have yet to see one correct use of the word 'knew' when it should have been 'known', still grateful for the effort of the fans though!), every single emotional moment is hitting at maximum capacity.

There is SO much dedication to showing us Saria and Silence's feelings, SO much complexity in the relationships these women have, SO many words left unspoken and reading between the lines to be done I am fucking feasting.

It's fucking crazy that Saria and Kirsten's conversation before their fight includes NOTHING about the emotional reason they are now in conflict and yet it is still every bit as obvious as their ideological conflict about the place of ethics in science. Saria's anger with Kisten is both her righteous fury with her and a deflection of the guilt she feels herself.

They were partners since college, best friends. They opened Rhine Labs together after Kirsten's parents died, with Saria vowing to protect her and her dream of science unbound by the politics of the scientific community. Then they grew apart as Kirsten started using Saria more and more as muscle for coverups for Rhine's possible scandals while never even seeing her. THEN when Saria finally thought she found happiness with another person, her own failure to protect her new family from the consequences of Kirsten getting into bed with the Columbian Department of Defense led to them being just as afraid and hateful of Saria as everyone else is.

BUT WE'RE NOT EVEN GONNA STOP THERE. When they fight and Saria realizes that Kirsten has rigged her office with the defensive measures they very likely came up with together (as Saria is the one who signs off for the designs of weaponry), when they fight and Saria realizes Kirsten modified the invention to fight her specific powers, as if Kirsten believed they were always going to come to blows one day...

There was love between them once, perhaps not romantic, but there was the kind of love that would have Kirsten coming with Saria to the gym to watch her box, admiring her form and even using it as inspiration to build a combat exoskeleton (as seen in Saria's module in-game). Once, there was love to the point of invention, and now that same person used those same hands to rig her own office with designs meant to beat her own muse.

Ooouugghhh the angst. The DRAMA. The way Saria answers this last betrayal by using her own unprotected human hands instead, bloodying her fists on Kirsten's forcefield until she breaks it with her raw strength. The way she stops just before hitting Kirsten, close enough that the blood on her hands forms a tear on Kirsten's cheek that we get a close look at when Saria declares she's leaving Rhine, I am spoiled. I am so spoiled.

I also want to point out that for maximum pain the same chapter has a very funny joke page of Muelsyse being genuinely terrified from Saria joking that she'd simply bury Mumu somewhere if the Eco director turned out fishy, and then at the end Saria sees Silence look at her with the same fear in the latter's eyes, making Saria realize that in the very end, everyone, her coworkers, her fellow Directors, and now Silence, who was once the only person in Rhine unafraid and open to her, just sees her as Kirsten's thug.

And she might as well be, having let this all happen.

Tag Game: Oc Ship Songs

thanks to @dancinginsepia for the tag, and also for making the tag game!

rules: write about two to five songs from them that represent your a ship between your ocs (it can be platonic or romantic or a secret third thing). then add a quote from said wip (if possible!) underneath it.

and boy oh boy this is the right tag because you know who's been making playlists and imagining music edits instead of, yknow, actually writing something? this gal!! Anyways, relationship: Coraline and Ixora because I am Unwell over them. They're a bodyguard and a charge that eventually turned into like platonic soulmates sorta thing, in that they know each other so well but still insist to strangers it's only a job. This is gonna be fun to decide on anything because i have pages and pages of backstory but very little current dialogue and interaction written between these two--they've actually spent more time apart and affecting each other's lives than they have interacting on page! (the solution is to write more of them interacting. i'll get back to you on that)

1. Die For You by STARSET This has been an Ixora theme song for like. Years. The man's loyal as hell. And in a relationship like theirs, how do you determine the line between Ixora-specific loyalty or bodyguard-general dedication? He'd follow her into hell if she asked. (She did, once.)

"You promised to protect me," Cory gasped, and the words were a knife in his own heart. "I failed," he replied. Words clawed up his throat, but he couldn't get them out—how could he say what she meant to him? He would have given her everything before today; he made himself her protector because he believed in her. Because he trusted her.

2. If I Killed Someone For You by Alec Benjamin I haven't quite gotten under Cory's skin yet to get a writing handle on how she ticks,but I know she's very self-centered and righteous. I love exploring their dynamic--here's a power imbalance with two irascibly stubborn people on either end--and how much Ixora will simply cede to her rather than arguing. And how far would he go for her without her needing to ask?

“I thought I’ve been banned from your events,” Ixora said, in a tone I’d only ever heard when he was trying to start a fight. “You’ll behave yourself tonight, won’t you?” [asked Louise.] "I'm not coming anyways. I can’t leave Cory; I’m her protector, remember?” "Oh, but you're invited too, Miss [Coraline]." All eyes turned to Coraline. She and Ixora looked at each other. Her eyebrow twitched in question, he set his jaw in response, and Coraline replied smoothly, “If you insist, Miss Louise, then it’s in our best interest to attend.” Ixora’s wings quavered; I couldn’t tell if he had agreed with Coraline or not.

3. House of Memories by Panic! At The Disco This one ends up on a lot of my oc playlists cause everyone's got backstory and lore. But these two for sure really have a plethora of memories together! They know nearly everything about each other--the way they move and fight and their daily rhythms. But when strangers ask, they'll insist it's a strictly professional relationship.

“How do I look?” “Like you walked off the cover of a dime romance. Impractical and useless in a fight,” she added coolly, shutting down Ixora’s dreams. “You flatter me, sweetheart,” he informed her, and tossed an apple at her from behind his back. “Here, I know you skipped breakfast.” He read her thank you in the flick of her ears as she caught it. “Are you all packed?” “Since yesterday. You? That bag of yours doesn’t look big enough.” “I can borrow something of yours if I need.” “See, I knew you’d say that, just like last time, and the time before that, which is why I packed that red shirt you hate.” “God, with the shiny buttons? You’re a menace.” “It means you won’t steal it, yeah?” he shrugged, the movement carrying through his wings.

I ran out of quotes (i really need to write more of this story instead of letting it grow a full-on mold colony in my head) so i couldn't add all the songs i had in mind.

I feel so inferior when I see anyone flourishing esp people I personally know. I feel super competitive even if it is not what I truly want. How can I stop feeling jealous, please help me. Hi love! First, I’m sorry that you’re struggling with some insecurity and jealous thoughts now! I want to validate your feelings and let you know you’re not alone. It sounds like you’re dealing with issues related to low self-esteem and need to build up your confidence/sense of self.

Here are my tips on how to build up your self-esteem and confidence, practice self-love, and manage your jealousy/deal with insecurity. Hope this is useful for your journey! xx

HOW TO BUILD SELF-ESTEEM & DESTROY JEALOUSY/INSECURITY

Get out of your scarcity mindset: Jealousy and envy all come from a place of lack. When you feel like you’re in competition with others, you’re essentially saying that there are limited opportunities or spots available in the world for you to claim the same achievement or title. E.g.: If you’re jealous that someone is getting better grades than you, has a lower body weight, has certain clothes, etc., you’re perpetuating the narrative that only a few people can have these accomplishments. This assumption is simply not the case! There’s always room for another high achiever, athlete, creative talent, employment within a certain career/industry, etc. Even if your success and route to success look different than the people you’re currently perceiving to be your competition, their accomplishments don’t take away from your potential in any way. Seek ways to cultivate an abundance mindset (can answer more specific questions on this, if desired, or dedicate another post to this topic, too!). Remember: There are an infinite number of unique opportunities, definitions of success, accomplishment, and fulfillment in this world and within your community/circle of influence.

We’re all the stars of our own movies: By nature, we are all self-focused. The only person you spend your entire life with is yourself. So, by design, we all see every decision or action (whether of our own or that of others), relative to ourselves – either how it affects us or how it stacks up against our own accomplishments or lived experiences. One of the most freeing facts to realize is that we all think this way! The person you feel jealous of is also probably thinking about how they’re doing in life relative to you and others as well. We are all the stars of our own movies – aka our life paths and lived experiences – everyone else is an extra, supporting character at the end of the day. While it’s important to form connections and live with respect and consideration for others, it’s important to focus on how your decisions, actions, and words affect your life trajectory. People don’t think about you nearly as much as they think about themselves. Remind yourself to focus on doing the same.

Stay in your lane: On a similar note, cut out the noise. Decide to focus on what you want out of life instead of thinking about what others are doing. Every second you waste thinking about what someone else is doing, you’re taking time away from working on your goals or doing something you love. The only person who can truly bring you happiness and fulfillment is YOU. Never give this special power away to anyone else!

Cultivate your sense of self: Once you start focusing on yourself, it’s time to find yourself. I’ve linked a few of my previous posts HERE, HERE, and HERE on how to cultivate your sense of self, design your dream girl archetype (ideal self/self-concept) and write out a personal manifesto – essentially a written document affirming all of your unique qualities, strengths, goals, and affirmations.

Design and implement daily confidence-boosting habits & self-love rituals: After you define who you are, your ideal self, and the qualities, character traits, skills, and values that define your current/future identities, you need to implement the right mindset, habits, and rituals to help you transform into the highest version of yourself. Think of habits or rituals as a form of confirmation bias to affirm any new self-perceptions (e.g.:I am worthy, confident, and self-sufficient. I succeed in my career field of choice, hold my own in conversations, and communicate with class and elegance), ways of living (I’m an early riser who knows how to prioritize and focus and get things done, go to the gym 3-4 days a week, etc.). In other words, once you start refining your speech, time blocking tasks, going to the gym, etc., you’re living as the person you want to be, so by the law of assumption, you’re attracting your ideal reality into existence through taking these consistent actions. What areas of my life need the most improvement? What story do I tell myself about this situation? What are my current habits/thinking patterns in this area of my life? How can I reframe these thoughts to help myself? Why am I self-sabotaging?

What activities and people make me feel my best? What gives me energy? What helps me to unwind, relax, and destress?

Practice self-respect: While it takes some practice, the best way to unlearn jealousy is to practice self-regard, take care of yourself, and stay unbothered when it comes to the choices of others and their opinions about you. It becomes easier to remain unbothered once you create a life and personhood you love. Once you cultivate your sense of self and practice habits that build your self-love and confidence, you understand why we all need to look out for ourselves and the freedom this personal agency provides. This mindset and way of life also help you better empathize with others and value their need to do the same.

Remember, this process takes time, but the best thing you can do when you feel jealous or insecure is to focus on yourself and the unique qualities you have to offer yourself and the world. This mindset and understanding that there are infinite pathways to success and fulfillment, open your mind to help you get creative and strategize ways to reach your potential or satisfy your desires.

Once you cheer yourself on, you realize the competition is an illusion. The right members of this former club become your allies. Together, you can lift each other up to create an unstoppable support team. Haters only offer white noise or envy that proves you’re doing something right. Only those who take time to think about you privately will share their assumptions about you in public.

Being a Hopeless Romantic

There’s something about books that give me a false sense of hope. Even happy endings disappoint me. In every romance novel, the man, even the ones with “issues”, always ends up loving the female main character more than life.

In my experience, all I hear are stories about men who cheat, men who use girls, and men who were never in love at all. As someone who has never been in a relationship, I can’t help but feel like true love doesn’t exist.

Don’t get me wrong, I know women feel it, but I can’t convince myself there is a man out there that will be able to feel so much love for a woman it hurts. These romance novels are primarily written by women, further supporting my idea that men simply don’t feel love like women do. I am of course referencing heterosexual relationships, as I am (unfortunately) a straight woman, so I can only speak on our behalf.

Does this dilemma have to do with toxic masculinity? Men are told from a young age to not be emotional, did that include love? Do men just repress romantic feelings like they do others? If so, do they feel them at all?

Hearing stories about how men cheat on their girlfriends or wives, but still claim to love them confuses me even more. If you “love” someone you would never want to cause them pain, you would only see them, another person would never cross your mind. This is hypothetical of course. Maybe these men don’t understand love and never felt it in the first place.

Now I know most hopeless romantics believe in true love or love at first sight, but I don’t. I see it in books, in movies, in any form of entertainment really, but not in real life. I understand not all relationships can be perfect, but even couples who are regarded as an ideal still end, secretly fight, or even cheat.

I want to believe in love, I really do, but in an imperfect world, how can I? Some say that no relationships are like this and entertainment gives us unrealistic expectations of love, but if love really is supposed to be this magical, all-consuming feeling, why is that unrealistic? The whole idea of love is supposed to be wanting to spend your life with someone, never wanting to be with anyone but them, only being able to think of them, and wanting to share everything with them, is that what people say is unrealistic? So why do people support weddings, if these expectations are unrealistic, why congratulate a couple when they get engaged if you think this expectation of love is an unimaginable event that the media has portrayed?

I don’t think I am one of these people, as I don’t think books and movies give unrealistic expectations, I think they just create fictional scenarios and people. I do not expect to find a man like my favorite characters, as I simply believe they don’t exist. I don’t expect anything from a man, I know he can’t feel love like I would want him to.

Do I want to believe a man can handle the complexity of love and dedicate his life to a woman? Yes. I want so badly to know that there are men out there that feel these intense emotions I only see written across book pages. I want to know that there are real men out there that feel what these lyricists write about. I want to know that there are men out there that can feel what screenwriters depict in movie scripts.

I can’t necessarily comment on love from a woman’s perspective, because I have never felt it. I do know, that these authors depict such a strong and specific feeling of love that they must have felt it from experience.

Maybe one day, if I find anyone who can love me like these fictional characters I will change my mind, but as of right now, I simply expect disappointment. You can’t get let down if you have low expectations.

I know this doesn’t make much sense, as I consider myself a hopeless romantic. Aren’t hopeless romantics supposed to believe in love and expect a happily ever after for everyone? No. There is a reason we are called hopeless. No man can give us what we fantasize about, what we dream about, and what we write about.

All I want is for someone to love me, but I can’t help but feel there is no hope, hence my self-bestowed identity of a hopeless romantic.

This point of view seems very pessimistic for a 19-year-old girl, I know. I know I am “so young” and I just “haven’t found the right guy” yet, but I can’t imagine I ever will. I have never been approached by a man. The most I have ever received is an add on Snapchat, and a follow on Instagram, but nothing more. I don’t even get any attention from conventionally “ugly” guys or guys who allegedly will fuck any female-identifying, of-age, human they stumble across. Trust me, I don’t necessarily want attention from these boys, but everyone seems to get it except me. I have not met a single person who has shared this experience, so it must be about me.

I dedicate to this to everyone who has let their dreams of writing die.

This is pretentious, or maybe vain, and I apologize if it comes across that way, I do not intend for this to be like that at all, as aside from narcissism in jest, I really think people should retain humility while still accepting and acknowledging their own good points, but when I log into my writing blog, sometimes I see a message like this and it’s wholly disarming. I know it seems like I am making a big deal out of what is basically a compliment, but hear me, I decided to not share my writing online again after some really bad stuff happened, on a personal level and on an artistic level. You may perhaps not believe me due to the way I carry myself, but I am very, very meek about my writing. Literature is something I have an eye and a passion for, and since I know good literature when I see it, it makes it terrifying when I finish writing something, because I know the flaws. It’s kinda like how graphical artists see their awesome finished products and say “this sucks” because they know real good illustrations, that, too, happens with writers, and oh man, it’s terrifying. To add to that, my previous relationship more or less began and crashed down in flames because of writing. My quality as an artist took a dive because I grew complacent, and because I focused on producing just one thing, and one thing only, something that satisfied my partner, and then I realized that despite my popularity in that community and the praise, it all felt hollow. I had not taken a step up, I took a step down. What used to be a mere exercise for my own amusement, that is, purple prosing, which is objectively terrible but it’s oh so fun to do, like eating a greasy hamburger, became more or less my modus operandi. That’s not good. It was all stagnant, it was fun, it was a cheap thrill, but part of me knew I was really just wasting away when I could be improving. That was a big part of my overhauling the blog in that RP community to just become user-drive stories: People would send asks with quite literally whatever content in the message and I would turn them into hopefully fun and neat reads, usually based on humor, and a bit later, it was time to close up shop, because the community had all really gone to shit and, sans a couple of exceptions, everyone whose skills I respected were already gone or just not into it anymore, plus, I had been writing in the Gensokyo setting for far too long. I needed a break, both from it and the bad memories that writing for the character in itself brought (because the character is intricately involved with another character, the source of my problems, and I will never, ever write a character in a vacuum or extirpate an essential part of them for personal reasons).

After that, I kind of just put the pen down. I felt afraid, honestly, because I knew anyone with writing chops could see past the hot air and the purple. I kept my daily writing exercises up for a few days and then I just gave up. In part, I was focusing fully on truly getting better from my depression, on which I was making really good progress, especially after a rather harsh and spectacular break up threatened to push me back in, thus needing my full attention, but another part was, really, that I was just so furious with myself that I couldn’t bring myself to write. A part of why I had made another “identity” when making that blog, aside from a joke aimed at some people, was so that I could start from zero, so it wouldn’t be me just being like “hey guys go follow my new blog give it attention please!”. I really disliked that attitude. You have to earn your reader base, not guilt trip for it. There was a period in that community which consisted of people making blog after blog for whatever fucking character or version of a character they could make, putting “HEY THIS IS MY NEW BLOG” on the main Skype, enjoying 2 days of attention, and then proceeding to whine forever because they ran out of inauguration-slash-pity asks. That’s no way to improve. I wanted to start from zero. Big fat irony that then I grew insecure because, damn it, I could put out drabbles and what not but I’d probably be, I don’t know, pity likes or “I know you” likes. A mess. I didn’t want that. That, coupled with my immense dislike of my own writing quality, put me off writing for a long time.

Just last year, at the end of the year, I decided, hey, it’d be cute if I put up some stuff. I mean, I made the ‘ideablog’ and I hadn’t used it at all (an attempt at trying to share my stuff again that failed initially as I was too afraid), might as fucking well, because if I have a redeeming quality, that’s just going through with whatever comes to mind at any given point. Reception has been surprisingly... Existent. It’s been good, and the praise and opinions I’ve received both publicly and behind closed doors has been both empowering and enlightening, but, I just think it being there at all has been out of my calculations. Aside from this message, I’ve also been asked if I have my stuff organized in a Dropbox for quick downloading so it could be loaded as an e-book and, if not, if I gave my authorization to do it. Another message I received was if I accepted commissions. What the hell do I say to that? It’s wholly disarming and moving, I couldn’t be happier. No one is more critical of my writing than I am, and next thing I know, someone says they’d pay for it. I’m not trying to blow my horn here, it’s just, fucking hell, I am so happy that I didn’t give up entirely, that I came back for the pen, and that the pen waited for me. I want that to reach you, I want you to know that not giving up has been the correct decision. I am lowkey shedding tears right now because, fuck, I love writing, what the fuck, I really was gonna let this go, but I am so fucking happy I didn’t, and on top of that, other people enjoy what I have to show? It’s paid off both personally and artistically to keep at it? Holy hell.

Just, please, don’t give up writing. It’s hard, it’s not immediate like seeing a drawing is (which means no disrespect to graphic artists at all), it’s no walk in the park or a cake in the walk or a piece of the cake, but it’s worth it. Rather, “don’t give up writing” is not fundamentally my message here as much as “don’t give up your art”. If it’s drawing, writing, composing, sculpting, whatever, don’t give it up. It pays off. You really have to go in it and give it the hardest try you can, whatever it is, your utmost effort, and it’s not easy, but look, all that aside? It’s about you enjoying it.

You’ll never reach perfection, but that doesn’t mean you can’t or shouldn’t try, and you should shoot for the moon anyways, because if you land it, you kill the moon and you do us all a favor, but if you miss, hell, you still land among the stars. People really don’t want perfection, they want a good read. That’s easy to understand as a reader, but difficult to get as a writer. I think getting it as a writer, however, only pushes you to become a better writer than striving and inevitably failing to reach perfection does. At least, it’s what I’ve learned.

And for those of you who have become discouraged because you saw others do something close or similar to what you wanted to do, and in some cases, an almost identical concept? Do it anyways. Take it from me: Ideas and concepts are a dime a dozen. It’s the execution that really matters. The world has not seen what YOU do with that idea. You have not seen what you do with that idea. Maybe you have in your brain, but haha, let me tell you, what ends on paper tends to be wholly different than what initially was in your head. It tends to be better. You’ve not seen that. Everyone can imagine the perfect Olympic pirouette, but doing it is what matters. Everyone can imagine the perfect football kick, the perfect boxing straight, the perfect baseball pitch, but what does that matter if we don’t bring that imagination into a tangible form? That’s what writing is, after all, it’s our ability to show others what goes in our brains and hearts, what it is that inspires us. You don’t want to write because you got inspired, you want to write because you got inspired and want to give it shape.

So get writing.

So get making art.

Do it for yourself, and others will love it, I promise.

I’m not saying it’s as easy as just doing, but doing is the first step. You need to work hard to improve, and you need to both be confident enough to know you did a good job, yet humble enough to know you’ve got room for improvement (and hopefully, where it is you’ve got room for improvement). You can worry about improving after you get to the “doing” stage, however.

And if you gave up, please, consider giving it another try.

You never know who is out there waiting for your product. Only one way to find out.

if you’re more into the technical side of minecraft, you can be rest assured that hermitcraft has some of the Biggest Brains in redstone.

tangotek: a fucking madlad. Singled-handedly created the minigame Decked Out. im Begging you to watch his tutorial video on how to play. currently finishing up his Among Us but in minecraft minigame. all of this was built Entirely in survival vanilla minecraft. get this man to 1M subscribers.

mumbo jumbo: the man himself. built a 128 x 128 block industrial district in both season 6 and 7 packed to the Brim with mechanical farms. half the brain behind the masterpiece of engineering that was Sahara in season 6. currently working on Pacific, the sequel to Sahara, in season 7.

iskall85: the other half of the brain behind Sahara and working on Pacific with mumbo in season 7. also has an industrial district like mumbo’s in season 7.

xisuma: built an automatic potion brewer in the second half of season 7. this thing churns out potions by the Shulker Box. can also turn a shulker box full of potions into splash potions and extend duration all with a press of a button.

impulseSV: incredible example of form + function. farms are scattered throughout his base. he has a farm for nearly every farmable resource in vanilla minecraft.

etho: the pioneer of some of the most widely used redstone mechanisms to date. content isn’t super redstone-focused. mostly does compact modules that serve a specific function.

zedaph: makes strange contraptions. he’s basically if grian knew how to redstone. impeccable vibes and fairly underrated.

bdoubleo100: he occassionally does this segment called “redstone with bdubs” and it’s the only redstone i understand so that’s why he’s here.

what about roleplay? and lore?

yeah they have Plenty of that too.

it generally comes in the form of self-contained storylines that involve most members on the server and take place over the course of several weeks in multiple videos. it’s fairly light roleplay, if that’s not your thing. but the plotlines also have a Massive Potential to be angsty and whatnot if you really look into it, which a lot of people also do.

hardcore minecraft server with a twist that started on 4/20/21. all content is posted to each member’s respective youtube channels.

every member has 3 lives, as indicated by the color of their name: green for 3 lives left, yellow for 2, red for 1. if they lose all three lives, they can only spectate the world (like in hardcore mode). the series ends when all members have lost all three lives.

affection: how do they show their love and affection? how intense would it get? //

sugawara is intense and heavily oppressive with his love- he wants to show it as much as he can, often overwhelming you with his heavy love. he loves physical touch- you’ll always be tugged onto his lap with his arms wrapped around you, locking you in as he smothers you in tender kisses or you’ll never be seen without his hand clinging to yours. everything he does for you will be so excessive- buying you a specific food you like over and over till you’re sick of it, always cooking for you and even insisting on feeding it to you, bathing you, completing over-caring for you to the point where it’s infantilising and suffocating.

blood: how messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling? //

sugawara wouldn’t hesitate to do anything for you- but he’d never hurt you directly. he wants to protect you and if that means getting messy he wouldn’t think twice about it. he’ll avenge for you and eliminate anyone causing trouble for you subtly and from afar, his sweet angelic facade casting away any suspicion. that overly friendly boy who keeps flirting with you will never bother you again after the day sugawara follows him into a dark alley and murmurs dark threats from a sweet smile and the professor who hates you for no reason never fails you on assignment ever again after sugawara pays him a visit in his office.

cruelty: how would they treat their darling once abducted? would they mock them? //

sugawara would be so welcoming and sweet! he knows you’re a little scared so he’ll hold you in his lap, wiping away your tears and humming sweetly in your ear. he has pretty new dresses ready for you, expensive and all these different shades of pink so you can look pretty and comfortable for him. he’ll take such good care cleaning up your cuts and bruises and makes sure to feed you well, promising you can leave the basement as soon as you’re a bit more adjusted. he’ll be so excited and happy you’re here with him and of course because he knows you so well he’s bought all your favourite foods and drinks and even has some of your familiar belongings you haven’t seen in a while like your hairbrush and jewellery! he works so hard to help you settle into your new home, whether you like it or not.

darling: aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will? //

taking complete control over you regardless of how you feel is the main thing sugawara will do. you don’t feel as much as a real person in control of your life when sugawara takes complete control- he insists on feeding you, bathing you, dressing you in the clothes he chooses and it doesn’t matter how many tantrums and fits you throw he’ll just easily overpower you and mould you into his sweet little doll. every single moment of your life is controlled by him.

exposed: how much of their heart do they bare to their darling? how vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling? //

he gives his entire heart to his darling because he does truly love them. he loves spending time with them and everything he says is completely truthful. “i’ll love you forever. you’re all i think about. i’d do anything for you.” he loves opening up to his darling because they’re his love, his best friend, his entire world so he’s completely make himself vulnerable to them, telling them his hopes and dreams and fears because they’re everything to him.

fight: how would they feel if their darling fought back? //

sugawara would initially be hurt. he’s treated you so kindly, dedicated all his love and life to you and you’re throwing it back in his face. he’d be confused and gentle, trying to valm you down and soothe you. “tell me what’s wrong, princess, i’ll make it better.” but if you keep resisting it doesn’t take him long to get frustrated. the anger would be visible on his face as he tries to hold back. “i’m already disappointed in you. stop making it worse.” he’ll definitely set out punishments to release his anger and disappointments- maybe some spankings or isolation and nothing will make it better than you falling into submission.

game: is this a game to them? how much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape? //

this isn’t a game- it’s love. but sugawara can’t resist indulging in some light-hearted teasing. he’ll find it amusing watching you try to force the window open or try the key in the lock only to wrench the door open and find him stood on the porch with a sweet smile on his face. but he’ll brush it off, not seeing how desperately you want to leave. “isn’t it so much fun here with me?” he’ll coo, ushering you back in. and he knows even if you think you can escape, it’s not like you’ll be able to survive without him having any sense of independence destroyed from how much he’s infantilised you.

hell: what would be their darling’s worst experience with them? //

their darling’s worst experience would have the realisation that there is no escape from this. they can beg and plead sugawara to let them go, to try and make him see sense that if he truly loves them he wouldn’t do this, he’d let them live. but then they hear his laugh, almost mocking, and his eyes are sparkling as he restrains their hands and presses a kiss to their cheek, narrowly misses his darling’s lips when they turn their head in time. “i do this because i love you.” his darling comes to the hopeless realisation that sugawara is utterly delusional and they’re trapped.

ideals: what kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling? //

blissful love and peace- he envisions a life where you belong in his arms, where you rely on him completely. you only find safety in his hold, clinging to him and utterly needy and in love with him, just as he feels for you. he wants to hear you constantly whining his name for every little thing because you’re nothing without him. he wants you to be scared and anxious when his hand isn’t laced with yours and he wants you to look at him with wide, adoring eyes shyly asking him “do you love me, kōshi? will you always love me?”

jealousy: do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope? //

sugawara definitely gets jealous- and over the smallest of things. you can always tell he’s getting jealous by the uncomfortable smile on his face and the little crease between his brows when he sees you thank the barista a bit too sweetly or when you’re chatting too much with your friends and you haven’t paid him a look in the past ten minutes. but he doesn’t quite lash out- rather he’d be passive aggressive, rolling his eyes slightly. “it’s nice of you to finally acknowledge my existence.” he murmurs when you’re alone. “i’m sorry i’m not good enough for you to care about, even when i do everything for you. this is what i get in thanks.” he doesn’t even have to punish you because the guilt he invokes is even worse and within seconds you’ll be apologising and begging for his forgiveness.

kisses: how do they act around or with their darling? //

whether you’re alone or with people, sugawara will be nothing but loving, to the point where it’s smothering. he wants everyone to know you’re his so his hands will be squeezing your thighs and his lips pressing kisses to your neck. he loves to be touching you, always pulling you into his hold and cooing at you. you’re like his fragile little doll the way he pampers you, insisting on doing everything for you whether it’s choosing your food or simply holding a glass to your lips when you want to drink. there’s no such thing as intelligent conversation with sugawara either- you’re just his sweet dumb little darling who can’t even think without him.

love letters: how would they go about courting or approaching their darling? //

sugawara would do well when it comes to courting his darling. his sweet, angelic smile just radiates innocence and genuinity that you’d be rather enamoured at his advances. he would be so perceptive too, carefully gathering enough information about you to win your heart. he’ll write you sweet love notes of encouraging words and specific compliments and slot them between your notebooks or into your pocket with a little wink, and you’ll come into your university lecture room to find your favourite coffee on your desk and sugawara beaming at you. he’ll never be forceful and his stalking is never obvious enough to raise suspicion, not that you would be because that sweet boy seems like such an angel.

mask: are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else? //

no. sugawara’s loving and doting regardless of who he’s around, but to outside eyes he just seems like a sweet, loving boyfriend who wholesomely cares for his partner. if anything it wouldn’t be uncommon for people to be slightly envious because their partner has never adored them so much but only you know the true extent of how smothering this is, how you feel like you can’t breathe with sugawara constantly hovering over you with his heavy love.

naughty: how would they punish their darling? //

the punishments would be patronising. little spanks on your ass until you feel humiliated to spit out an apology. or outright guilt-tripping- regardless of how you feel, seeing sugawara’s downcast eyes and hearing his voice crack as he tells you how much you’re hurting him, how he’s just trying to love and protect you, that nobody else would do this for you except him is enough to make your chest wrench with guilt and shame. on rare occasions when he’s feeling particularly sadistic he’ll force you into something you hate. he’s shrewd enough to have picked up on all your likes and dislikes, so he can easily choose out the pink frilly dress you detest and force it onto your body, cooing about how pretty you look as you cry when he takes pictures of you, or paint your face in makeup when you don’t want it on your skin or spoon the dish you hate most into your mouth, watching you try to swallow it when you hate it.

oppression how many rights would they take away from their darling? //

every right. the moment you’re in sugawara’s hold, you’re his little darling. how can you make decisions without him? every bit of autonomy you used to have disappears when sugawara takes you- he’s choosing what you wear and all your privacy is gone when he’s there to change you into the clothes he chooses, to take you to the bathroom, to bathe you. it doesn’t matter how much you resist or if you try to regain control, sugawara will dismiss your defiance as a ‘little tantrum’ and give you a kiss instead, asking- or rather demanding- you be a good little girl for him.

patience: how patient are they with their darling? //

very patient. sugawara always brushes off your defiance or rejection with a little sigh. “i don’t like it when you’re like this, baby. be good for me.” his saccharine voice would be pleading as he kisses your cheek. he’ll try to barter with you- he’ll let you feed yourself if you just sit still in his lap instead of resisting and he’ll let you bathe yourself if you give him some kisses. it’s only if you lash out first that sugawara’s eyes will darken and the vein in his temple will throb as he darkly tells you he doesn’t like punishing you.

quit: if their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on? //

sugawara would be heartbroken if he lost his darling. all the light in his eyes would be lost and he’d never quite be the same. every little thing would remind you of him, every racing thought filled with you and your pillow would be stained with tears as he hugs it, trying to smell the last traces of your scent clinging to it. he’d hate how the memories of your face and voice grow fainter but he’d never recover from losing you. no matter how much time passes, sugawara’s eyes would search all the faces he sees whenever he leaves the house, hoping to see yours. every time his doorbell rings his heart will quicken, wondering if you’re finally back home.

regret: would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go? //

for him, there’s nothing to feel guilty about. sure, sometimes he sees the sadness in your eyes when you’re locked in his lap and his heart will sink because he doesn’t know why you look so down! but he’ll never feel guilty because to him he’s doing everything he can to make you happy. he’s keeping you safe in his home, away from the outside world and other people that’s full of criminals and nasty people who would harm you! nobody will love you like him. keeping you safe in his home makes him happy, so why wouldn’t it make you happy too?

stigma: what brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)? //

sugawara has always had a need to care for people he loves but the obsessive love he feels for you is far stronger than anything else he’s ever experienced. therefore his need to care and protect his darling is greater but lacking a care for rules, sugawara doesn’t care how he goes about it as long as it feels right for him.

tears: how do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves? //

he’d be hurt. he’s be stunned with fear and pain watching you break down that all he wants to do is comfort you. he’d be too delusional to see he’s the cause of your pain so he’d try to hold you, rocking you from side to side to soothe you and kiss you. he’d treat you with extra delicacy following that and wouldn’t let you out of his sight.

unique: would they do anything different from the classic yandere? //

he’d never hurt you directly. the closest he’d get to that would be putting you in a dangerous situation, but would swoop in to ‘save’ you before you’re hurt, letting you fall into a belief that he cares for you and protects you and you should be thankful for him! sugawara also wouldn’t kill for you, but he isn’t above eliminating people who could hurt you (or so what he thinks) through other means.

vice: what weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape? //

sugawara’s delusional would be the best to use to your advantage. once you start playing along, you can lure him into trusting you, into making him think that you’ve finally realised just how much he loves you and that you have no reason to fight back. if you let him infantilise you, let him kiss you and cuddle you how much he wants, if you reciprocate his love enough that sugawara has no reason to doubt you, he’ll trust you enough that you’ll have enough freedom and time to plan your escape.

wit’s end: would they ever hurt their darling? //

physically, no. sugawara could never bring himself to physically hurt his darling himself but that doesn’t mean he’s above other ways. instead he’d use emotional means- driving you insane with guilt till it hurts too much or driving enough fear into you of the outside world, of a life without him, that you’d be an anxious mess without him.

xoanon: how much would they revere or worship their darling? to what length would they go to win their darling over? //

you’re the sole reason for his existence. every part of sugawara’s life revolves around you because he loves you so much that every thought is consumed by you, he’d do anything for you! he’d change his university classes if it means he gets to be in the same lecture hall as you and sit beside you. he’d learn to cook your favourite dish and every little thing you need he’d be ready to get it for you- only you don’t remember telling him quite so much about yourself.

yearn: how long do they pine after their darling before they snap? //

sugawara doesn’t have to pine for long because his charming, sweet nature is enough to draw you in quickly enough. and there’s no way you’d ever think this angelic, kind man who treats you so well could ever be a danger to you. but either way sugawara wouldn’t be too fussed about pining for long because he knows he’ll be able to sweep you off your feet soon enough.

zenith: would they ever break their darling? //

mindbreak wouldn’t be something entirely awful to him. if you’re defiant enough for too long that sugawara feels like he’s running out of patience, he’d be able to justify breaking your weak, fragile mind and forcing you into submission as an act of love, that he’s helping you. by the time he’s ignored and isolated you enough that you’re clinging to him, begging for an ounce of attention to stop yourself going completely insane, sugawara would be too overjoyed to even consider what he’s done.

I’ve been knee deep in dsmp lore streams and I just want to ramble about it

Dream smp lore is so good, it’s so good!!! Not only is the story itself just fascinating, but how it’s presented so uniquely through the medium of minecraft of all things is just so cool. One of my favorite parts of the lore is seeing how everyone on the smp has their own “style” they present it in, and watching them find the way they find the most enjoyment in is so cool. Literally no two streamer’s lore stream quite like each others and it’s just incredible! It just speaks to the flexibility of roleplay as an artistic medium and really shows everyone’s individual personalities.

Wilbur was dramatic as hell and wrote eloquent speeches. He started a drug operation under the guise as a country, and it lead to a revolution in which he was able to explore the spiral of a man who loses control of everything he had built. And after his arc and he wanted a break from the server? He created ghostbur, an amnesic comic relief with just enough touch of tragedy that he is still able to make heartbreaking monologues when he wants to.

Tommy is able to run around with his friends and cause as much chaos to his heart’s extent, but there is so much more than meets the eye. He is incredibly social and isn’t afraid to start conflict with a lot of people, bringing them into the roleplay. He doesn’t back down from storytelling either. His character goes through terrible situations and he fully explores the trauma that comes from those experiences. His character goes against the “stereotypical” trauma I see alot in media; instead of being shy or scared he’s reactionary, he’s angry, he’s violent, he’s depressed. I’m actually really impressed with the heavy subject matter this 17 year old teen has managed to portray (I’ve connected with it quite personally at certain points), while still being able to keep the light hearted fun that’s so intrinsic to his personality.

Tubbo isn’t really interested in serious lore as much. Even in dire moments he tells jokes and just has fun. So, in his recent lore, he just streams as normal while putting mysterious writing on screen that he doesn’t acknowledge or have to explain, which I think is just a genius work around for him to participate in lore. He still has his dedicated lore streams sometimes, and when he is in the acting zone he has some of the most powerful moments out of everyone on the server.

Ranboo, while having stake in the greater smp lore, is much more character focused. He presents his lore through long monologues and fucking heart-wrenching voice acting. He loves working in themes of horror and causing a specific feeling in the viewer. So he chooses specific music as a themes for events/characters and creates visual queues in his overlays to draw out that desired reaction. He also values improve a LOT, if something unexpected comes up he just runs with it and he has made huge changes to his lore as early as 30 min before a stream.

Technoblade, while arguably one of the most powerful people on the server, prefers a more light-hearted yet dramatic approach to lore. When Dream was at his house looking for Tommy, Techno had no problem joking around and making fun of him for being homeless. He tore down an entire nation on the server and had so much fun doing it! He’s more of an antagonist than a true villain in my opinion. And lets not forget how dedicated he is to the game, he’s cracked at the craft. He spends hours grinding and creating farms on the smp, for amazing pay offs (his several vault reveals, the withers, etc), most of which weren’t even on stream!

Karl Jacobs is extremely social, so he created Tales from the smp as a way to involve TONS of people in lore while exploring the past and future of the server (it was also a way for viewers who weren’t that well versed in dsmp lore to join and not have to worry about it!). And through this premise, he took the opportunity to develop his own character on the smp; making an incredibly tragic story of a time traveler trying to save his home while slowly loosing his memories. Not to mention the beautifully shot cutscenes of the Inbetween and the Other Side. He includes so many people behind the scenes as well, collabing with other members on lore, hiring building teams and people to make intros and credit scenes, and promoting fanart and fansongs from the community!

Quackity explores his lore through heavily scripted events and amazingly shot cut scenes. While the way he expresses his lore comes at the cost of improv, the payoff of the visuals and story is well worth it! The shots he makes of the smp is downright gorgeous, no to mention he’s the first person to include irl footage in his lore (not counting facecams)! He’s not afraid of thoroughly examining his own character, being one of the only people I can think of that shows us “past events” leading up to something that has already happened.

Badboyhalo, Antfrost, Ponk, Skeppy, Captain Puffy, Punz, Awesamdude, Hannahxxrose all work together on shared lore and the payoff is amazing! By introducing the Egg, a constant antagonistic force that constantly pulls on character’s relationships with each other, everyone is able to stream together to battle for or against the egg! There’s also plenty of room for people to do individual lore that's more intimate to their respective character. They spend hours changing vines, putting up posters, slowly shaping the smp in a way that makes it exciting to watch streams to see just what has changed everyday. Because there’s so many people necessary to tell the egg’s story, it does comes at the cost of time (the egg has been around FOREVER). However, they all work together super hard and I just admire their commitment to the story they’re trying to tell!

And Sam! He has several different “Modes” his character is in (and an entirely separate character, Sam Nook) that he gets to explore lore with. He’s a terrifying warden, he’s a money motivated businessman, he’s a conflicted lover, he’s a traumatized victim of the egg, and just so much more. Through having so many different “roles” in the rp he gets to explore relationships and plotlines with a whole array of people. Not to mention he’s absolutely cracked at redstone and has some of the most impressive builds on the server.

And Puffy! So much of her lore is calling into question the morality of the server and really makes you step back and think critically about the characters. Her character also has, in my opinion, one of the most interesting relationships with Dream, the main antagonist of the entire server, which is just fascinating to watch unfold. Not to mention she’s one of the first people to start exploring the backstory of her character!

George doesn’t exactly do lore. In fact he’s slept through so much of it it’s become a meme. And you know what? That mad man took that and ran with it. He explains his absence in the story by having his character literally being asleep through it, creating mystery where there used to just be an absence. He’s able to goof off with his friends and have borderline nonsensical streams, then at the end sucker punch the audience emotionally by “waking up” and have the viewers question just what was real and what wasn’t?

The smp has the freedom for people who want more independent lore to be able to explore their character’s that way as well!

Hbomb, Connereatspants, and Purpled don’t have a lot of lore on the smp, generally only coming on to have fun with everyone, but when they do have their moments it unfolds in very interesting ways!

Sapnap, Eret, and Schlatt maybe aren’t as active as some other people, but when they are on they actively participate in lore and have lasting impacts on the story (Ex: Eret’s betrayal, Sapnap’s visit to dream in the prison, Schlatt becoming president).

Philza mostly does his own thing, improving the server or making some bomb ass builds. He has incredibly devastating roles in lore (killing wilbur, blowing up L’manberg for the final time, starting the syndicate with Techno), but he also has quieter moments that speak to the depth his character has, such as fishing with fundy or reminiscing about his dead son and how it went so wrong. Like Techno, he doesn’t like to take lore completely seriously, often laughing no matter what’s happening or teasing chat after something big goes down, but his character is solid with a lot of potential for future lore.

Foolish has only started on his character and its already super interesting. The hints at his dark past as a “god of death” and his current conflict with the egg are intriguing as fuck. Not to mention the MASSIVE builds he does for everyone, helping to progress their lore as well.

Fundy has a lot of freedom with his character to participate however much he wants in lore. While generally he’s a trickster who loves to prank people he has enough tragedy build into his backstory he’s able to break the viewer’s heart with a flip of a switch. Not to mention his recent, almost surreal, stream that explored his character’s disturbing dreams that may or may not predict the future.

Niki is very character driven, exploring her character's grief of losing her best friend and her anger of being ignored in the very country she helped create. She has incredibly emotional moments, and even though she’s on her own building an underground city she still participates in other lore via teaming with jack manifold or the syndicate.

Jack Manifold’s lore is VERY character focused, and while he’s described his story as a “B plot that occasionally intersects with the main plot”, the story he tells is still fascinating. Being pushed aside not taken seriously his whole life, his character develops into a fun cartoony-esque villain who begs to be taken seriously, that has the depth of a truly conflicted person who is torn between wanting revenge on everyone who’s done him wrong and just wanting a friend.

Last but not least, the man himself, Dream. The most fascinating thing about his lore is that absolutely none of it is from his pov. All we know about his character is only from what we see from everyone else’s povs, and in his case it leads to a very intimidating villain! Not to mention, mans owns the damn server and yet has made himself the main antagonist! He is the only character I consider a “true villain” on the smp. His voice acting and writing is downright sinister. I could write a fucking essay on how his character’s obsession with power has led him to the point he thinks himself an unstoppable god

Everyone on this server is stunning and I love all of them!!!!!

I’d say this is it. On top of everything else, I’d say THIS is the cherry on top of definitive proof of Supercorp having been planned/attempted all along.

According to this S2 finale script with unaired moments, Lena had literally JUST left the room after they made future dinner plans together post-Mon-El loss, and then Kara has a talk with Cat in which Cat says love is still ahead for her… wow. Seriously. It’s 99.999% undeniable at this point.

Especially because even if they changed the idea of them having dinner plans and removed that scene, the very next episode on screen in 3x01, we still had the moment where Kara is looking at photos of her with Mon-El, then she tells herself to wake up, sets it aside, texts LENA, who responds with a RED HEART EMOJI, and Kara smiles authentically for the second time since losing Mon-El (first time, also being at Lena during the statue dedication). Meanwhile the romantic-vibe song lyrics “good for me, what I need...” plays over the moment, and then Kara has the strength to move on and go meet her friends. So there’s a character losing one love interest, then another steps up as the obvious next choice/endgame that gives the person hope, as all signs around them also point to it as well, which is a pretty typical narrative set up for writers in situations like this.

They clearly were always trying to set Lena up as Kara’s future love interest/ultimate endgame. Repeatedly. All of these script leaks (on top of what we’ve seen on screen all along as well) just confirms it. That one writer (who co-wrote this 2x22 script and the other one for 3x17 where she actually mentioned “Supercorp” directly on the page) officially confirmed she was rooting for it, and we see obviously was trying to set it up in the writing as well. Which by extension then confirms that someone - either showrunners or execs at the top - have forced them to remove these elements, halt development, go in other directions, or possibly in the case of S5 - delay it - every step of the way. Writers have clearly aimed for Supercorp more than once over the years. And it seems someone has clam-jammed it every damn time.

So now, once again, here we are, back to the same old question… now that the show is ending, if it was a network or executive level clam-jam, are they FINALLY going to let the show go there? Or are they going to dig in their heels just to break an ankle and go out having wasted the ripest element in the show’s entire run - its biggest and most potentially impactful and memorable love story - and being one of the worst queer baiters in TV history, never fulfilling the best and most organic outcome for Kara, Lena, the show and the fans, due only to ego and/or homophobia? Same for the showrunners, IF they’re the hangup instead/also (hopefully not, but who knows)?

Lastly, these scripts made it clear that they were also trying to make it obvious that Mon-El was NOT Kara’s endgame, nor anything remotely close to that. It was simply a first real relationship along the way of her finding her true soulmate. We’ve said all along that she didn’t like him in that way, until she became lonely and saw everyone else paired up, so she pushed herself to finally give him a chance since he liked her and she had nobody else. She even grew to love him, as she admits, but obviously she recognized that she got with him because she wanted to experience a relationship like everyone else had, and that says a lot. Especially when you combine it with her on screen blow up later, where she openly admitted she over romanticized their relationship, and he treated her like crap, and she was obviously glad it ended, and then again when she never gave into his attempts to get with her in S3, and easily let him go yet again in the S3 finale, and barely paid him attention in the 100th.

These scripts just fully confirmed that Kara wants a soulmate/deep relationship, but she never really wanted Mon-El, specifically. She simply desires true love (like she’d told James - wanting her perfect game night partner, which was confirmed in S4 to be Lena, and someone who knew everything about her, which as of S5 is also Lena). I’ve always said that while Kara grew to love Mon-El and was hurt by losing him, she was more hurt by losing the potential he represented of her having a true love, having happiness, etc. And this script confirms that. He was NOT the one, and she’s always known it, which is why she’s never mentioned him since, and barely paid him attention in the 100th except to discuss Lena, and he didn’t even exist in a world where she and Lena were partners.

The whole “Karamel vs Supercorp” of it all really shouldn’t even be up for debate anymore. They have made it clear, time and again both on screen and in these unaired script pages, that he is not Kara’s soulmate nor endgame. So unless the show decides to go against their own history and character development out of absolutely nowhere and pull something out of their arse at the last second that won’t make any sense and would send bad messaging and upset the bulk of their remaining audience, it won’t (and shouldn’t) happen.

Meanwhile, again, they’ve also made it clear, time and again both on screen and in these unaired script pages, that Lena is Kara’s soulmate and endgame.

So let’s see what they do with that. Throw it all away? Or soar, and finally fulfill the story they’ve been telling all along, while also make history, by letting Supergirl finally have what she’s always dreamed of: true love. And Lena. Because those two things are one in the same, per their own narrative.

The Darkling and Alina's character dynamic and relationship writing are actually not that good to explore/convey abusive relationships. Not only would it be just the first book, because the rest of the series treats him as an enemy, but even in the first book they barely got it going. Yes he lies and manipulates her but, at least in the beginning when finding her out, she's not exactly special in regard. He does it to everyone to some extent. You can say this makes the Darkling toxic. Yeah. Dark daddy literally can't trust anyone. But when specifically talking about Darkling being abusive, I can't really... I can't really think of any quiet emotional beats that made me horrified and want to hold Alina? She never had a hard time leaving the Darkling. Darkling never really broke her down to be completely dependent on him, literally only the letters and I guess the Stag were indications of it. Besides that, he only does the bare minimum and affirms her worth to a serverly self deprecating Alina. Dark daddy is not even an effective cult leader. Leigh just wrote a charismatic intelligent man that dedicates himself to the little palace and put a sidenote like "and he kicks puppies so.."

Do you know what would of been good to explore abusive dynamic/relationship with? Who puts her down? Does little digs into her self worth? Makes her completely dependent on him? Who she has a difficult time leaving? Who has these very drastic unpredictable mood changes that put me, as a reader, on edge? 👀👀👀

If Bardugo really wanted to convey an abusive relationship, it would have been more effective to put Alina in an actual relationship with the Darkling. Even with Shadow & Bone being the book with the most amount of their interactions, he's barely even at the Little Palace.

I also don't understand this critique of "he isolated her" because he only isolated her from Mal. She was still a student with free rein at the Little Palace, free to make friends, did make friends, and was constantly surrounded by people. It's Alina who chooses to hide in her room and avoid everyone and sticks up her nose at the other Grisha girls. Alina herself even admits that had the Darkling not sabotaged her letters with Mal, she never would have unlocked her powers. And the only reason this is framed as being evil is because Mal is supposed to be the chosen love interest. If Mal was just another dumb fuckboy who ghosted her while Alina went on to make new friends and build a social circle at the Little Palace, literally no one would care.

(Also, as an interesting tangent, in the short story The Tailor, the Darkling leaves it up to Genya whether to give Mal's letters to Alina or not. Genya is conflicted for a while but ends up burning them.)

I think the problem is that while the Darkling is manipulating Alina, Leigh is also manipulating the reader through the way she frames and tells the story. And Leigh's manipulation falls flat and ultimately backfires because:

If she wanted Alina to be disarmed by the Darkling's encouragement, why is he literally the only positive mentor figure she has? Why make Baghra so abusive and antagonistic? Why connect Alina's journey to claiming her powers to the villain?

If she wanted us to believe everything he does is pure manipulation and cold calculation, why does he mess up when he corners her at the Winter Fete? He straight up admits that he hates that he's attracted to her because she's distracting him from his ~evil plans~

If she wanted us to see the Darkling as an abuser, why let him give Alina the most powerful amplifier ever made and ultimately end up empowering her???? He wanted to use her power for himself, yes, but she really should have milked that exploitation for a lot longer because 2 seconds later, Alina gains control back and now she's got the legendary power of the stag on her side and makes the Darkling look like an idiot.

Why did she let Baghra warn Alina on the night of the Winter Fete? This is particularly interesting point in the story because a lot of fanfics like to explore the direction the story could have taken had the Darkling himself eventually told Alina about his past as the Black Heretic. Or if Alina had joined him in hunting for the stag and taken the collar with consent, like she was originally planning to.

What makes Alina easy to manipulate is how desperate she is for validation and approval from other people, especially men. Compare that to show!Alina where the ""manipulation"" is a goddamn joke ☠️If anything, the show!Darkling played himself by simping so hard. If the Darkling manipulates Alina, so does Baghra, so does Genya, so does Mal, and so does even Nikolai.

This isn't to say this ship isn't trash, because it 100% is 😂But if the Darkling is abusive to Alina, it's not abusive in the same way as a toxic boyfriend is. It's an abuse of power, a control of information, emotional manipulation, mind games, intimidation, blatant lies, threats to loved ones, and some light negging because Aleks really can't understand Alina's cottagecore dreams ☠️and neither can i tbh

At the same time, I'm not sure how useful it is to frame this in the same way as relationship abuse when Alina and the Darkling are enemies in a civil war.

This might be why many more readers mapped their own abusive relationship history to the way Mal treated Alina in Siege & Storm, an unintended consequence of Bardugo's poor writing choices that has been fueling book!M*l hate to this very day.

I've been following your blog for a while now and I love your writing and your meta! I was wondering, do you consider Levi and Hanji's relationship to be romantic in canon? Do you consider it canon that Levi had romantic feelings for Erwin?

Thank you for the ask anon, also, thank you for ruffling my feathers a bit too :D. I’m glad you like my writings and meta and I hope that my works continue to bring you joy.

The types of questions you asked up there could only lead to the types of answers that can spark ship wars. I mean the dialogue in 136 and the change in kanji for chapter 132 hinting their own ships canon were enough to have Eruri and Levihan shippers bashing each other on twitter tbh.

Personally, I see the romantic potential for both Levihan and Eruri in the show. That’s why I found myself reading a good number of Levihan and Eruri fics. (But lots more Levihan if it isn’t obvious from AO3 bookmarks and my tumblr title). I mean lots more romantic potential than let’s say.... ereri

Do you consider it canon that Levi had romantic feelings for Erwin?

I’ll answer this one first. No. I don’t think Levi had romantic feelings for Erwin anywhere on the show. Was there potential for something to bloom? Possibly, that’s why I still read eruri fanfiction. I like exploring the possibility if Erwin wasn’t a little too obsessed with his dream, maybe their relationship could have turned out differently.

In canon, by the time they introduced Erwin, Erwin had already forsaken all romance and I think whatever feelings Erwin had towards romance rubbed off on Levi and their relationship ended up being more professional than anything. Due to Erwin’s one track mind and the position he had taken upon himself. any romantic possibilities between them in canon was just harder to make happen.

Levi though still had strong feelings towards Erwin. It’s undeniable. Erwin had given Levi purpose to live and direction on where to go next, what to do next so that’s why regardless of whether canon had made it possible or not, this relationship is still very interesting to explore.

Erwin was more professional and cold than Levi imo and honestly, despite the cold demeanor of his best friend Erwin, Levi was an incredible softie at heart and we’ve seen that side of him multiple times, when he gave Petra’s badge to that one soldier, when he stared at that one mother and child when they were on the wall ready to leave to retake Shiganshina.

We all know Levi begrudgingly wanted that soft side of him indulged and between Erwin and Hange the one more likely to indulge that softie side of Levi was Hange.

Which brings me to the next question.

Do you consider Levi and Hanji's relationship to be romantic in canon?

I wouldn’t be obsessively writing Levihan fics if I didn’t see it as romantic in canon. But at the same time, I don’t believe Hange and Levi have been in a relationship since Season 1. My headcanon here is Hange and Levi built that relationship over time and this relationship just rapidly progressed after season 3

It’s incredibly subtle which is one of the reasons people like to pretend it doesn’t exist. Probably because they’re trying to promote another ship or they don’t wanna see romance in AOT

But I don’t think a relationship developing subtly is at all a sign that it can be more platonic than anything else.

In fact, most healthy relationships and most relationships from a bystanders point of view, develop subtly. Like we were the bystanders in many other developing relationships in real life, I think we, the audience of AOT, were also bystanders watching the subtle development of Hange and Levi’s relationship.

Let’s think about how we’ve watched relationships develop in real life.

If we’re not invested, they happen incredibly subtly. These people are just constantly together, then eventually we realize we can’t invite the other without the other, then we realize we can barely get them alone, then we realize the person changed and eventually they drop this bomb saying “by the way, I’m dating this person now.”

This pattern happens way too many damn times among my friends though and people I just randomly watch everyday that it just became so expected for it to develop into romance so eventually, when I’ve seen the formula play through, I tend to lean on the side of ‘yeah, they’re probably togteher or getting there.’

Yeah, I get it, there’s a danger in assuming that people are together. I’ve seen enough romantic relationships develop though to realize that leaning on the side of ‘romantic’ given specific signs is usually the correct assumption. In fact, I have earned a good amount of money irl winning bets with my friends that two people are actually together but are hiding a relationship (or possibly are in denial).

What are some of these signs?

The way they treat this one person is so glaringly different from how they treat other people

Through the years, I have lost a lot of my best friends to their boyfriends/girlfriends and as the youngest child, I have watched all seven of my siblings get into a relationship and believe me, a lot of them have a certain line they would draw on what they are willing to do for their close friend or sibling and what they are willing to do for a lover.

I have seen people in love so willingly have their hand crushed while the person they love has their fingers set back. “Hold my hand as hard as you need to.” I’ve seen my friends take a detour 1 hour away from the destination just to pick up the person they love. And here’s the thing, they wouldn’t have done it for anyone else usually, they would have only done that thing for that one person.

Yes, okay doormats exist. But even people with doormat syndrome, the threshold of what someone is willing to do for a close friend and for a person they love still differ regardless. In a life or death situation, I think both Levi and Hange would have fought to conserve lives but if we consider small things, like routines, groceries, small favors, I feel like Levi has an incredibly low threshold of what he’d be willing to do for a random person. But Levi still carried her groceries for her so he could meet her with Moblit in the smartpass. Levi still picked her up and waited for her in Season 2 when she was researching the rock. And for Hange, chapter 115 is all the hint you need. I honestly don’t know if Hange would have gone through those lengths for anyone else but selfishly abandoning commander duties for one guy? She practically said screw you to everyone else.

The way they talk to each other is different.

This is something I notice in real life too. Most people won’t notice when they themselves do it but it’s incredibly obvious for listeners if the listeners look out for it. The tones of people’s voices change when they’re talking to someone they love. For a lot of people, sometimes their voices get a little high pitched. For others, sometimes their voices get a little softer. Just watch when you’re talking to a friend and suddenly their SO calls. (It might not apply to everyone but I find this incredibly common.) Not just tones, speech patterns change or tendencies too. In front of that one person, sometimes people are a little more selfish. Like maybe, they don’t usually say what they want to eat but when the one person asks, they would answer because suddenly they know what they want.

With Hange and Levi we have the ‘let’s live together’ and the ‘dedicate your heart’ respectively.

These are two expressions/phrases they would have not used with anyone else. There was probably more in canon, but these are just the most glaringly obvious ones with two pivotal scenes that blatantly show that Hange and Levi do have signs of the above.

Hange and Levi who are generally very selfless all business people, are suddenly only selfish with the person they love. Hange with “let’s live together?” An injured Levi deciding to rest and sleep despite the fact that they were in a war because Hange was nearby to take care of him?

Those two were suddenly selfish when they were alone with one another?

They are constantly together.

Okay, irl, you can see this when you have all your friends ride in a car together and somehow, it’s always them taking those two seats next to each other. They leave the classroom together. They leave every single dam room together. And it could be subtle or not but they always wait for one another. Yet if one person is not there, they’re the type to just go ahead and leave without giving the room behind them a second look. When someone wants to buy something, the other always has an excuse to come. And oh my god, when you call your friend in the middle of the night to hang, that person is always in their dam house or in their dam room, no breaks.

And Hange and Levi have their equivalent of this.

Levi literally picked Hange from her lab in Season 2 while she was injured and he had no need to.

I think I have made a post where Levi and Hange are shown constantly together but lemme make some points. Even early in canon, why were Hange and Levi introduced riding next to each other, they’re not even in the same squad. Why were they riding out the gate together? Shouldn’t Levi have been with his squad and shouldn’t Hange have been with her squad?

Yeah sure, maybe they just decided to ride together. But why were they next to each other in the Ilse’s notebook too when they went out the gate? And even when they were going to take back Wall Maria, Levi and Hange were next to each other in the lift, they were back to back on Wall Maria.

Like the only expedition where they weren’t riding together was when Levi had to protect Eren yo.

“They’re both leaders of course they were together” Mind you, Levi’s position in the military is a special one. He’s the captain of a special operations squad and not at all a squad leader so he shouldn’t be riding next to Hange if it were by “leaders” and in the retake Wall Maria, if they were divided by “leaders” why didn’t Hange take the lift with the other squad leaders? Why wasn’t she back to back with the other squad leaders on top of Wall Maria?

Why did she pick to hang out with Special Ops squad Captain Levi of all people, in every. Single. Damn. expedition. Scene.

And don’t even get me started on post Season 3 man. They’ve been inseparable since Erwin died.

They literally come in a set.

And you kinda realized your friends are in love when you wanna invite one of them out and you realized you kinda have to invite their special little friend by default.

And Hange and Levi are just like that too,

Hange and Levi have always come in a set. In fan art, in those advertisements, Hange and Levi are always next to each other. In those fan audiobooks, smart passes, there are always Levihan crumbs. Attack on Titan Chuugakkou was literally a testament to the canonicity of Levihan since in that show, they didn’t even hide anything, Levi and Hange were always next to each other. (I think Hange actually ended up living with him towards the end?) Post Season 3, I don’t even think there were many seasons where Levi and Hange were apart and when they were apart it was more of for duty than anything else.

Hange was always with him when she could, despite her duty as commander. Given their circumstances, they wouldn’t even be together a lot if they didn’t make the effort too.

Especially towards the end, 126 - 132, the few times Hange did leave Levi behind were for commander duties but Hange never left Levi for the lulz. And also, in 132, Levi was magically able to walk when Hange finally left him behind, and Levi could barely walk in 132, yet he still pushed himself to stand up, walk toward her and attempt to stop her.

In fact, Hange’s first scenes were next to Levi and Hange’s last scenes were also next to Levi “See you later Hange.”

And I think the huge efforts they put to being together despite their circumstances says a lot already. Hange and Levi’s treatment of each other and their being together constantly in general is a huge testament to the canonicity of their romance.

Sure, there were no ‘I love yous’. But really, before our irl friends who were in love actually came out to us, maybe months or even years after we’ve watched them be joined at the hip, were there really ‘I love you’s between them or did we all just place bets on it because they were just being too glaringly obvious about it in how they treated each other?
