So, look. Thanks to the liquid courage I have tonight...
I'll admit, I wrote a Supergirl script based on a semi-obscure comic a while back, and it -- would be my opus. My ULTIMATE dream project. I mean I am so beyond excited for Woman of Tomorrow, but also planning to do all I can to make my vision happen within a decade, hopefully.
If we can have 16 Batmans and 27 Supermans or whatever, we can have a couple Supergirls over the course of a few years, IMO.
Especially because mine is a very, very different vibe from WoT, The Flash, etc.
Wish me luck. I won't ever let it go until I get a “no” from every single person in power again and again for the next 5-10 years, haha.
Wish I could promise to make a series for the sapphics some day that ends properly but at this point it's clear you can have the storytelling, the loyal fans, the actors engaged, AND the ratings (and sometimes even awards)... but STILL get dumped in the trash.
Regarding the Harvey Weinstein news in NYC of that conviction being overturned… “unfairly tried for past behaviour” ?!
What a f’n joke. The “justice” system believes that witnesses testifying to a pattern of abuse to make a case for a perpetrator’s guilt are inadmissible. But yet when it comes to a VICTIM? The defense can do a full character assassination and bring up their past, present and freakin’ future relationships, behaviors, choices and more in order to make a case to paint them as a liar. It’s all so absolutely sickening.
The system is fully set up to revictimize victims (especially women and children) and to protect (usually male) predators and abusers. It’s just a fact. And it’s insane.
Even if you come forward, even if MANY come forward, and finally secure a well-deserved guilty verdict, this just shows victims everywhere that it can STILL be reversed or even (what’s likely to come next and has happened before) a victim be sued by their own own rapist or abuser.
As a pan chick with extra affinity for the sapphic side of things creatively and otherwise… I just want to say Happy Lesbian Visibility Week to my lesbian friends and followers.
