Sugawara scared you. Not just because of the red string of fate, but also because of how persistent he was in trying to gain your affection.

It had started out small- him trying to talk to you after classes, although you kept silent and hurried away, or him sending you smiles and waves that were never returned. This, at first, seemed only friendly, and not too ominous, had it not been for the red string, of course.

Then it had upgraded to phone calls. You had not, of course, ever given him your number, but still, he managed to get ahold of you somehow.

“Hey, (Y/n), this is Sugawara Koushi. I know you didn’t give me your number directly but-”

You’d hung up so quickly that your cell phone bounced out of your hands and hit the carpeted floor of your bedroom. You spent the rest of the night staring out your window and jumping at the movement of every little shadow, swearing that you could feel eyes on you.

Then came the love letters and gifts. Fluffy teddy bears of all colors and sizes, some holding hearts and some not, all mysteriously made their way into your locker. The letters weren’t as concerning, since someone could easily slip it through the slats near the top, but the teddy bears meant that your locker had been opened.

Around Valentine’s Day, he’d put a heart-shaped box of chocolates inside. This was the first thing from him that you actually considered keeping, but you remembered how gross some of those candies could be, and it was tossed into the school trash can like everything else that made its way into your locker.

The first flowers he’d laid on your desk were plain red roses. Beautiful, but overdone to the point of “nothing special”. When the next bouquet came to rest on the polished surface, you wished he’d stuck with roses.

After all, now you had to worry about how he’d managed to guess your favorite type of flower.

There was always a note attached to them and, though you’d resolved to throw them away without reading it, much like the letters, curiosity took hold of you only once.

“To my number one princess, may these flowers light up your day like you brighten up my life.”

You never read another note after that.

All throughout this time, Sugawara’s desperate attempts to speak to you continued. Unknown numbers continued to call you at all hours of the day and night, and you were sure that they were mostly from him. Avoiding him was proving difficult as well.

It didn’t take too long for the school to catch on that their precious role model had developed a crush. Girls “oohed” and “awwed” over the fact, finding it positively adorable that the gray-haired boy was head-over-heels for someone, even if it wasn’t them. His teammates always pushed him towards you, trying to help him “gain the courage” to talk to you.

If only they knew.

Cooing and encouraging turned to curt remarks and gossip whispered just loud enough for you to hear. “Who does that girl think she is, ignoring Sugawara like that?” “She’s so mean!” “Why won’t she even give him a chance? Doesn’t she realize how lucky she is?”

Every day, you felt more and more like the outcast, to the point that you genuinely considered giving him a chance. But, as he approached you, that red string tied like a noose around your finger, and it had you skittering away from him.

Sometimes, he’d stare at you from across the cafeteria or school grounds with a thoughtful expression on his face. To you, it seemed like he was trying to figure out how to finally corner you somewhere.

You’d piqued his interest somehow and you hated it. Had you known how to stop him from becoming this way, you would have done it in a heartbeat. Should you have been calmer when you saw the string for the first time? Should you have been pleasant when he came to greet you at that table?

You couldn’t help your reactions- you were just a reactionary person. But perhaps that was the reason you were in trouble in the first place.

Another part of you, one you found much more soothing, reassured you that this was unavoidable, not your fault at all. If the string existed at all, then he’d eventually become a danger to you. Nothing you could do would stop him from becoming a monster, but at least you hadn’t caused it.

Fate had.

You fiddled with your fingers, feeling very vulnerable home alone, wishing your mom would hurry up and get home from work already. Your skin crawled whenever you pictured a certain gray-haired male crawling through your window or knocking at your front door. He plagued your mind at night, especially, when you could no longer see anyone from the window.

You jumped when your phone rang, the contact “Mom” showing brightly across the screen. You took the call and cradled the phone close to your ear, smiling.

“Hello, princess,” an out-of-breath voice responded immediately.

Your heart froze.

That wasn’t your mother, or even your father, on the other end of the phone.

Kōshi Sugawara

🤍Suga is one of the more pleasant ones to react to this, although he’s not happy. He’s just telling the girl politely at first that he already has someone else and asks her to leave him alone. If she’s going to be persistent, he might get slightly colder with his words and behavior, his face trying to carry the amicable smile before that last mask finally drops and he stares at her with a cold look in his eyes. He’s just about to drop it to her in a way not fitting for his usual sunshine facade but then his s/o suddenly storms into the scene, grabs the girl by the hair and yanks her back. This startles Suga, he didn’t expect this sudden outburst of violence and he will do his best to instantly stop his s/o from doing anything that could lead to troubles.

🤍He’s pulling them back, tells them in a raised tone to stop this, that the girl has surely learned her lesson now and that he could have handled this by himself too. He leaves with his s/o soon after, keeps a close eye on them just in case so that they don’t accidentally try to attack again. He scolds them thoroughly once they’re home again, expresses his disappointment with them with an upset look on his face, eyebrows furrowed. He’s not one for physical violence as he relies more on subtle manipulation and that for a reason. You could get into serious troubles for assaulting someone. He’s disappointed with you for days after, monitors you closely. He starts lecturing you a lot more too about how to behave and what not to do, treats you like a naive and impulsive child.

Tobio Kageyama

🌧️At first Kageyama just goes rigid when a girl suddenly starts flirting with him, clearly uncomfortable with the situation. After a while there is disgust bubbling up inside his chest though as he realizes that she wants something from him despite knowing that he has a partner. That’s when he gives her a harsh glare and tells her with a clearly agitated voice that he doesn’t want anything to do with her. When he suddenly sees in the corner of his eye his darling approaching, he feels scared. He fears they might accuse him of something which undoubtedly fuels his paranoia but before he can even explain himself, they grab the woman by the hair and deliver a punch right into their stomach.

🌧️Generally talking, Kageyama is a Yandere more prone to throw hands if the situation calls for it, tends to manhandle people who agitate him. Yet he’s never seen nor expected this from his darling and for a short moment he genuinely doesn’t know what to do, in shock as he watches the girl being beaten up. When he snaps out of it, he grabs your hand and pulls you back, flinches a bit when you give him a pissed off glare before your facial expression eases up. Tobio doesn’t know what else to say besides that you two should go now, warning the girl before leaving with you that she should keep quiet about it. He’s sort of in a daze for the next few hours as he still tries to process what he just saw since this is a side of you he didn’t know before.

Shōyō Hinata

☀️Hinata is completely overwhelmed when a girl actually starts flirting with him. That is once he actually realizes that she’s being serious with him. He’s not dumb, just really dense and initially he’s a bit flattered by the comments. The moment the girl actually stays and is proving herself to be extremely persistent is the moment where Hinata grows uncomfortable. He keeps on telling her to please leave him alone and that he has a lover but she doesn’t listen and that’s when he doesn’t know what to do. He’s trying to escape at this point and when he sees you, he quickly dashed past the girl to you.

☀️You on the other hand storm past him and confuse the orange-haired boy at first before he sees you kicking the girl harshly, bringing her down into her knees where you continue your attacks. Hinata is the type to idealize his darling a lot so he’s shocked to see them being so violent, even a bit frightened at first. He’s just standing there for a while and at one point averts his eyes a bit since he isn’t the biggest fan of violence. He’s completely overwhelmed once again and for that he doesn’t do anything until you deem it enough, threaten the girl to better never get near your boyfriend again before you turn around to Shōyō, smiling sweetly. He looks at you with different eyes afterwards, after he’s come to terms with what he saw. It isn’t bad though as he starts seeing you as a really strong person someone shouldn’t mess with.

Tadashi Yamaguchi

💕Yamaguchi is a loyal soul and the moment he notices what the girl is trying to do, he tries to avoid her, clearly uncomfortable with her actions. He’s incredibly awkward, body pose stiff as he tries to somehow escape her persistent attempts to flirt with him. Yamaguchi is trying to be polite though as he tells her over and over again that he’s already taken and happy, doesn’t know what else to do. He’s also terrified that you might walk in, is constantly looking around and when he sees you storming to him, his heart drops a bit. Oh god, are you assuming something? No, instead you nearly throw the girl away from him, getting even more triggered when you see just how nervous she’s made Tadashi.

💕The boy in question has a small story of somewhat joining Tsukishima’s rude comments but besides that he’s never been a fan of violence or bullying, mainly because he was bullied in his past too. So he’s terrified when he sees this new side of his darling, somewhat frightened to initially step in before he gains the courage to do so. He pleads you to stop since you’ve probably gone too far now, worried that the girl might go to the police although she certainly looks too frightened of you as she runs away. He’s somewhat uncertain for the rest of the day. His love is still there of course but it’s the first time he saw you acting so severely. 👑For Tōru this is a daily thing, getting being flirted with. Forming an obsession and getting together with his obsession has changed things for him though. Whilst he’s initially still polite, there’s a hidden glint of annoyance and even disgust in his eyes, not to mention that his smile isn’t sincere. Daring to continue though and implying that this girl thinks she’s better than his darling though sets him off slightly, his eyes narrowing and causing him to indirectly start humiliating the girl whilst simultaneously gushing about what he loves so much about his love. He’s already putting her down and his darling takes this to the physical level.

👑Obviously Oikawa is initially frightened a bit but when he realizes that you’re doing it because someone was trying to take him away from you, there’s a twisted feeling of happiness and satisfaction inside of him. He’d go very far if someone would try to take you away from him and there’s elation knowing that you’d do the same. He lets his darling go on for a while, a grin on his face that has the girl’s stomach churning as she sees the unparalleled sickening obsession inside his brown orbs. He eventually suggests to you that you should stop and that he’s sure that the girl has learned her lesson, tells her with a voice laced with poison that she would better keep quiet about it. He’d be the type of Yandere who would appreciate a darling showing similar tendencies as he does so he really won’t scold you unless you’re not careful enough and might get in troubles for your actions. He’ll help you though, he’s your partner in crime.

Keiji Akaashi

🍁Akaashi deals with things more calmly than some other guys and if someone gives him a compliment, he normally just quietly accepts it. He always clarifies though that he is taken and usually people respect that instantly. Meeting this one girl though who still bothers him despite knowing that he’s taken isn’t something he witnesses every day. Akaashi can’t help but think that the girl is quite a bit disrespectful though by not accepting his boundaries nor accepting it that he is already in a happy relationship and doesn’t want to do anything with her. He’s not carefully choosing his words though, he’s blunt and tells her what she thinks, sadly without much of a result which slowly tests even his patience.

🍁Your entrance certainly changes things though as you kick the girl harshly to the ground, a dangerous look on your face as you’re about to launch at her again. Only for Akaashi to react instantly and stop you. He can read from the look on your face that you plan to hurt her but deems it as unnecessary and also dangerous since someone might hear you. Causing a scene would be quite troublesome and it’s better to stop you now before you seriously hurt the girl instead of when she had proof that you attacked and hurt her. Luckily he knows what to say to calm you down enough so that you go with him and he consults you later on about your actions. He’s going to scold you, warn you to not let your temper get the better of you in such a way since it will end in problems for you.

Kenma Kozume

🐱Kenma is introverted as it is, you two specifically chose a place where not too many people would be to enjoy a date together yet luck doesn’t seem to be on his side today. He knows what the girl’s intentions are instantly when she starts flirting with him and calling him endearing names which only make him want to disappear. He makes himself small, doesn’t look at her or pay attention to her as he hopes that she’ll leave if he ignores her. Sadly that only seems to fuel her more and by now he’s panicking quite a bit, doesn’t know what he’s supposed to do in such a situation. His darling comes to rescue him though, more or less at least.

🐱The first wave of relief is quickly replaced by shock and a good scare when you start punching and hitting the girl though for daring to flirt with your boyfriend and making him so uncomfortable in the process. Meanwhile Kenma is looking around him in panic, afraid someone might see you and cause a scene. So he stops you, a churning feeling in his stomach whilst asking you if you two can just leave since he has lost all interest and excitement for the date planned today. He mumbles something to the girl before he leaves, most likely a threat to not report his darling. He’s hesitating a bit to bring this up for a lack of even knowing how, eventually you two will have to talk about it. He’s rational enough to know that you could be brought to jail for such behavior and therefore he asks you if you could try to control that side of yours since it stresses him to think that you might beat someone again. He’ll just stay more inside so that you won’t have to hurt anyone.

Satori Tendou

❤️Satori is definitely not used to being flirted with, he’s far more used to be called a weirdo or creepy or all sorts of rude stuff behind his back. He’s used to it by now though, he only cares about what his darling thinks about him. Due to the lack of genuine praise, he’s completely overwhelmed when he’s one day being flirted with. He doesn’t even believe that the girl means him until she speaks to him directly. What is at first awkwardness and telling her that he’s happily together with someone already turns into sudden anger when she still continues, suggests that he can cheat even which triggers him. The girl certainly gets startled when she notices that Tendou’s previously hunched form is now towering over her with a creepy glimmer in his eyes.

❤️If that isn’t already scary enough, your reaction certainly is and the first kick you deliver causes Tendou to flinch as he wasn’t expecting this. He’s watching you for a few seconds with a mix of shock and, to his own slight shame, giddiness since you’re fighting for him in a way, defending what you see as yours. He snaps out of it though and stops you before you can cause too much damage, leans down to the girl and whispers to her that she shouldn’t tell anyone about this for her own well-being. He’s clingier after as the experience of being flirted with in such a way is alienating for him. He’ll probably reprimand you mildly to be more careful but can’t go harsher since he secretly liked it a bit too.

Tsutomu Goshiki

🌟Goshiki enjoys compliments. He enjoys them the most from his darling though and is constantly trying to impress them and being praised. When someone compliments him besides his darling, he feels proud of himself too and initially the flirting feeds into his ego as Goshiki isn’t aware of the true intention yet. He just thinks that he wants to tell you that he was just complimented as soon as you come back, gets surprised when the girl stays though and continues. The confusion soon turns into shock and a bit panic as he finally understands what she wants and quickly tells her off in an urgent tone that he already has a partner and wants her to leave. He won’t risk you getting any wrong ideas.

🌟To the poor luck for the girl you return in that moment and even Tsutomu sees the dark look on your face, he starts spitting apologies before he’s silenced by your sudden violent attack on the girl. His brain doesn’t even fully register the visual information he realizes since he’s in a state of shock before it finally clicks in his mind. Anxiety is heating up his body as he starts getting paranoid that someone might watch, pulls you back without trying to get hurt himself and asks you in a pleasing tone if you can stop and leave with him. At first hesitant, he feels later on a tiny bit flattered when he thinks it through and realizes that you’ve started fighting so aggressively for him. It doesn’t stop him from developing a frightened reverence for you.

Kita Shinsuke

☁️Shinsuke is also more polite, even in the face of being confronted with such a persistent girl who thinks that she can flirt with him even if she knows that he’s already in a relationship. Kita knows immediately where this will be going when she approaches him, he can read the look on her face all too well. He might be mildly taken aback when she brushes off his statement that he already has a partner and loves them very much but he will stay collected. She certainly isn’t earning any of his respect though since it’s in his eyes rather rude and insensitive what she’s trying to do now. He’s not aggressive, just really cold and honest with his opinion about her and that is what stuns the girl so much, he makes it obvious that he’s not interested nor really impressed in such a honest and polite way that it’s almost humiliating again.

☁️Kita is also bound to react very fast when your fist connects the first time with the girl’s cheek and knocks her off her feet. He doesn’t appreciate violence and avoids it as much as he can and is already admonishing his darling for their action but packages his words well enough to not agitate them more. He’ll try to bring you to apologize to the girl since this level of aggression was a bit too much and leaves with you shortly after. He’s going to sit down with you and force you through a longer discussion where he counts down all the possible troubles this could have caused you, tells you that he wants you to control your temper better or that otherwise he might not be able to take you so carefree outside.

Sugawara would, at first, admire you from afar. Watching as you joke with your friends, eat your lunch, and so on.

Sugawara would develop a crush on you that way. He would notice all the cute habits you have and the way your nose crinkles when your friends say something weird/gross, the way your eyes brighten when you laugh. He would notice everything.

Sugawara would find you on social media and stalk your page, looking for things to talk to you about. If he doesn't know/isn't interested in something you are, you better believe that he will research it.

Eventually, Sugawara would notice that he has competition. Whether it be you crushing on someone else or some rando crushing on you- he would be jealous. So so so so so jealous. He can't stand it.

Suga would work up the courage to speak to you and you two would become friends. He'd ask you to come to his practice games and he would ask you to hang out.

And, when everyone leaves you, you'll cling to him. He'll be so happy. Don't even think about trying to reconnect and explain yourself to those losers, they didn't even ask you if it was true. They just left. Truly a blessing in disguise, if you ask him.

Suga would sneak into your room at night and take things from your dresser, like your panties/underwear/boxers and use them at home to get off. He'd cut portions of your hair off while you sleep, using it for voodoo.

Worst of all, when you fall asleep, he would use your hands or your thighs you pleasure himself while he touches you. He would be drunk off of your sleepy moans and the adrenaline. He secretly hopes you would wake up.

He would also take pictures of you. Pictures of you changing, pictures of you sleeping, pictures of you laughing, staring off into space, crying, etc.

When he starts killing people off, those 'friends' of yours would be first. Suga eliminates people that catch on and people that speak ill of you, as well as people that have feelings for you/people you had feelings for. He doesn't really want to hurt your family, but he will if he has to.

Suga will without a doubt, kidnap you. He'll run away with you to a cabin deep in the woods and keep you there. He'll lock you in a room until he can trust you.

Sugawara will keep you locked in that room, chained to the bed until you learn to lean on him. Sure, you'll hate him at first, but when you realize that he's all you have and he's the only one who will ever love you, you'll behave.

Sugawara will for sure feed you, clean you, bathe you, give you water, etc. He will take care of you, using the chains as an excuse.

He would also sleep beside you. He would cuddle up to you at night, kiss your forehead, and tell you all the good things that the two of you could have if you would just behave. He would also force affection maybe including sexual intimacy.

Sugawara uses the training system. He will reward you when you behave and he'll punish you when you break a rule. Behave, please. He'll cripple you if he needs to.

Suga is delusional, remember? So when he forces you you say that you love him, he knows you mean it.

Body worship. Suga loves everything about you. Doesn't matter your size, color, blemishes, etc. Will worship you in entirety.

He won't tell you that he kills people handles people for you. He wants you happy at all times, so he'll do anything to keep it that way.

⍣ ೋ after the break-up

☆ kuroo, oikawa, daichi, hinata, bokuto akaashi, sakusa

KUROO TETSURO — assuming reader is the one who ended it, he's absolutely blindsided and shocked. he walks around in a daze; to anyone who didn't know him, he just looks tired or whatever. to whoever does, it's clear he's absolutely destroyed and crushed. of course, he'll try to act his best to not let it show how sad he is, but it really shows when his teammates were wondering where he was, only to find him sitting alone on a bench, looking down at his feet somberly.

"kuroo." kenma called out softly, his lips pursed into a line at the sight of his childhood sitting ways away from the rest of his team. it took a minute before kuroo was looking over his shoulder to look over at the shorter lad, his eye-bags dark, lips pursed into a straight line. "...i miss her." kuroo mumbled, looking back down at his feet, one of his hands coming up to brush through his distressed black hair.

he feels even worse when he sees you in the distance, walking home with a friend of yours. he can only think and remember when it was him walking you home, your hand intertwined with his. he chews on his lip as you get smaller and smaller as you walk more into the distance. he misses you.

OIKAWA TORŪ — he acts totally unbothered. his teammates didn't even know the two of you broke up until one of them asked about you jokingly, to which oikawa stuck out his tongue, huffing a "she dumped me," before swiping the nonexistent hair off his shoulder with sass. he thinks he's okay; he feels okay. it doesn't catch up to him until one day he's still practicing long after official practice ended.

oikawa grunted as he jumped into the air, his hand coming up to slap the ball. he can only furrow his eyebrows in annoyance when the ball hits the net, dropping over to the floor. "damn it." he curses, wiping the sweat off his forehead. i'm thirsty, he thinks, looking to the side where you would sit on the floor, watching as he practices.

but you're not there... where are you? "y/n-chan?" he calls out, his eyes looking around the empty gym. "..she's gone oikawa, remember— she broke up with you," a voice speaks from behind him. he turns around to see iwaizumi standing behind him, his eyes low with concern. oikawa feels a pang of hurt within his chest, his face morphing into one of hurt. oh, thats right, you left him.

DAICHI SAWAMURA — please, he's so heartbroken. he's so sad and hurt, when you were breaking up with him, he knew he couldn't change your mind, so he let you go, because he knew that was the best choice for the both of you. he stills watches over you, his protectiveness still present. he'll still watch you in class and in the hallways, his eyes never lingering off you for even a second.

"y/n—y/l/n-san," he says meekly, his eyes watching your face for any discomfort. "how are you doing?" he asks. he still attempts to talk to you, even if you crushed his heart completely. "i'm doing great, daichi-san, how about you? how is volleyball going?" his heart stings at your formality, he would do anything just to hear the way you call him by that cute nickname you gave him.

i'm hurt, i miss you, i miss you—i miss you a lot. can we get back together? "i'm doin' great, we are able to go to nationals, i'm so excited." he says with a forced grin, he hopes you don't notice the way his smile doesn't meet his eyes. "sure, let's go to the rooftop?" you say, slowly getting up from your seat. usually, you'd hold his arm as the two of you walked, but you don't. instead, you walk with a slightly behind him with much of a distance for his taste, but it's okay. he doesn't want to make it anymore awkward than it already is. he'd rather be your friend than loose you completely.

HINATA SHOUYO — he cried, he cried for days. even tsukishima felt bad for him. he was almost like a zombie, and he felt even shittier when he was so exhausted that his spikes were shit. he needed your presence, he needed you to be at his side, but you weren't there at all, you left him, you left him shattered and inconsolable. he nearly got sick with the way he was so sad, almost throwing up a few times because of how hard he cried.

"y/n," he calls out from behind you. you turn your head to look him, removing your hand from your locker. "oh, hey, shouyo," you say sheepishly, tone seemingly afraid and hesitant. you seem to know what he's already feeling. "how are you doing?" you ask, turning your body to face him.

"i.." he stammers, swallowing thickly as he tries to prevent his voice from cracking. "uhm—are you gonna be there for my game next saturday?" he asks, his eyes almost wide with the way he waits for your answer. his eyebrows furrow with sadness when you give him a bittersweet smile, "i.. maybe."

BOKUTO KOUTARO — his emotions are even worse than hinata's. he actually refuses to accept the break-up, and literally gets on his knees to beg you not to leave him. he'll literally wrap his arms around your waist, his head mushed into your belly as he cries into your embrace, mumbling apologies and love confessions. he almost loses a couple of games after the breakup because he was such an emotional wreck.

"see you later y/l/n-san." your friend says, waving a goodbye as you part ways with her. you say a goodbye as well before continuing your walk down the halls. your heart beats nervously, sometimes you see bokuto in this part of the school, but you're not surprised that you do. he pops up in front of you, almost as if he was awaiting for your arrival.

"y/n.." he whines, biting on his lower lip, his hair greatly deflated. you can only sigh at the sight in front of you. "hey, kou.." you say softly, you're not even going to try to switch to his surname or even his full first name either, that'll actually destory him and you know that.

"y/n, can we please just–", "kou," "–can we please just talk about this, i need you." he whimpers, hastily walking over to you, his hands grabbing at your elbows. "koutaro." you sternly say, your use of his first full name as him freezing in place, his lips pursing into a straight line as he tries not to cry. he's then pulling you in for a hug, his head resting in the crook of your neck and he sniffles against you, whining your name like a sweet baby. you can only rub your hand against his back comfortingly before you're pulling away from him for the last time.

AKAASHI KEIJI — he tried to handle it maturely, he really tried. he respects your decision, it'll be unfair to force you to stay in a relationship when you're unhappy. like a mature person, he's polite, so polite everyone almost forgets that you two dated. but not everyone, after all, you two dated for almost two years. he's still concerned for you, though, he still looks out for you, he always will.

"y/l/n-san, do you need help with that?" he asks, quickly coming over to your side when he sees you walking with a bunch of books in your hands. "y-yeah, please, akaashi-kun," you stutter, your arms relaxing when he takes more of the lion's share of the books from you. "thank you, they were really heavy." you joke, cheekily grinning at his help.

"no problem, just helping out." he says, looking straight ahead of him blankly. he seems to be dealing with it as well as he can, of course, he misses you, and he still resists the urge to text you late at night when he's upset. what about you though? you can't help the way you're gazing at him from behind, marveling at his pretty emerald eyes. akaashi notices, of course, but he doesn't take a plan of action to do anything about it, and neither do you. it was your decision after-all.

SAKUSA KIYOOMI — like oikawa, he acts totally unbothered. he'll brush off whenever someone sends their condolences on the breakup, either scolding them for their annoying pity, or not saying anything at all. deep inside, he's almost annoyed at the way he's so hurt. it's helpless, there's no point in being sad when he can't do anything about it. but he does, but it's over. he feels out of place, his daily structure and schedule is disrupted, and silently, he still awaits for you to call for your place back into his life.

"ah! kiyo.." you shout, trailing off when he walks right past you. it stings you greatly, but at the same time, you understand his actions. the two of you dated for nearly four years, since he was a still a young teenager. he avoids you like the plague now, not even sparing you a glance whenever he does come across you.

5. Tendou

Mainly scary because he sees it more as a game. Like a big game of hide and seek. And he’s fast, he will easily catch up to you. You could be screaming and crying about how much you hate him after being caught by him, and he would just chalk it up to you being a sore loser because he caught up to you.

4. Iwaizumi

Mostly just scary because he’s a scary guy in general. He will yell at you. He will yell and yell and yell and threaten you while chasing you. He would never hurt you, no, but he will threaten you. And once he catches you again he will not stop.

3. Ushijima

Absolutely terrifying from how calm he is. He’s so confident he’s going to catch you. Ushijima is a professional athlete, he will catch you in a matter of minutes. He will hold his hand against your mouth to keep you from screaming and carry you all the way home with just one arm.

2. Kyoutani

He is so so so angry. He’s genuinely so mad that he’s chasing after you with practically steam coming out of his ears. He stays completely silent the whole time bringing you home and he will lock you up immediately whether it be in a closet or basement. He has to leave you there and leave the apartment because he’s so angry and he doesn’t want to hurt you physically.

You can fight me on this but I think Suga is the most terrifying haikyuu yandere. He is so delusional, he sees this as an act of rebellion. Or perhaps you’re simply a little out of it today. Even so he’s comforting you after you escape. He won’t even listen to your crying and screams. He isn’t afraid to punish you either. You need a rough spanking or two to get you back to your normal self. Or a night or two in the dark cold basement.

Sugawara’s voice was sugar sweet. So sweet that you almost forgot that he was calling you from your mother’s phone.

“What happened to my mother?” You demanded.

You could hear the satisfied smile in his tone as he said, “You’re finally talking to me.”

“Please,” you begged, “what did you do to her?”

You prayed that she was okay, that Sugawara had merely swiped her phone. Something deep inside you knew that wasn’t the case.

“She’s safe. For now,” Sugawara said, “I didn’t mean to go to such drastic measures, I swear. But I couldn’t think of anything else to get your attention. You avoid me like I’ve got the plague. Why don’t you treat others like that? Why is it only me?” His voice raised more and more with each word until he was shouting into the phone, voice choked with emotion.

“The red string of fate,” you admitted, trembling from head to toe, “I saw it connected to you and I didn’t want anything to do with that.”

There was no harm in telling the truth now, especially if it calmed him down. Sugawara certainly had stopped yelling, a silence stretching on from his end as he mulled over your words.

“I guess fate can’t be avoided,” Sugawara mused, “After all, it’s all led to this moment, hasn’t it?”

You gulped audibly, your throat feeling as dry as the desert. “Please just let my mom go. I’ll do anything…”

“Anything?” Sugawara asked, a hint of eagerness slipping into his voice, setting you on edge. Dread seemed to press down on your shoulders, causing you to fall heavily on your bed, trembling from head to toe. This can’t be good.

But did you have a choice? Was there anything you wouldn’t do to get your mom back? No, of course not.

“Anything,” you confirmed softly.

“We’re going to make a trade,” Sugawara replied, “Her freedom for yours.”

You closed your eyes, sucking in a shaky breath. How had it come to this? The teacher’s pet, the popular, handsome volleyball player… how could Mr. Perfect be this cruel? How could he break so many laws just to get his crush to talk to him?

The situation reminded you of Beauty and the Beast. Like Belle, you’d be giving up your freedom for your parent’s. You resolved right then that you’d never, ever fall for the beast, like Belle did. Until the day you died, if it came to that, you would hate him with every inch of your soul.

You felt tears prick your eyes. Until the day I die? You didn’t want to think about that, but wasn’t that what you were promising to him? Or, at least, until he got bored of you. Would that be worse or better? I can’t tell.

“Where are we meeting?” You asked.

Sugawara’s voice trembled with unrestrained excitement from the knowledge that he had won, “My house. Tell the police or anyone else and your mother dies.” He told you the address- a house not too far from yours.

“Okay…” you agreed, tears slipping down your face. You wiped furiously at them, refusing to admit weakness despite losing to him. It didn’t matter that he couldn’t see you crying, you were still angry at yourself for being so helpless.

You pulled out a jacket and slipped on your shoes, looking at each room in your house as though you had never seen them before. Your heart felt heavy in your chest. Would you really never return?

The sound of your front door closing behind you seemed so final. You couldn’t bring yourself to hurry, as if you walked slow enough you would never have to face Sugawara. The cold air nipped at your nose and ears but, for once, you appreciated it. Who knew when you’d be allowed to go outside again?

You arrived at Sugawara’s house much too quickly. It was strange how such an ordinary looking house could be dripping with malice. You trudged up to the door, forcing yourself to knock. The door flung open and your tormenter peeked out at you, a smile spreading across his face, making him look so innocent that you could almost forget what he had done.

Then, the red string materialized, tightening around your finger, and you were jolted back to reality. You fought the urge to turn tail and run. This is for Mom.

Sugawara beckoned you inside. If your front door closing had sounded final, it was nothing compared to his door and the click of a lock. You fought back tears, overwhelmed by the reality you’d found yourself in.

You followed him down a staircase into a basement, heart sinking as you were met with what looked like a jail cell. Sugawara opened the cage and you knew what you had to do, walking shakily into the cell and taking a seat on the surprisingly soft bed inside. With a scrape against the floor and a creak, the door shut behind you, iron bars surrounding you on three sides. He pulled out a key and locked you inside.

“Now my mom,” you tried to force your voice to remain steady, “You promised you’d let her go.”

Sugawara smiled rather regretfully, “About that. She’s seen my face and knows what I planned to do.”

Your entire body froze, a chill running down your spine. “You promised! My freedom for hers!”

“Well, freedom can mean many things,” Sugawara reasoned, “Like freedom from life, the earth, etc.”

“Please, I’ll do anything! I won’t fight you or anything, just don’t hurt her!”

Sugawara reached a hand through the iron bars, reaching for you. You shrank back into the corner, just out of reach. He frowned in response and retracted his arm.

“I already have everything I want.” Sugawara said softly. He gave you a small wave as he exited the room, leaving you to cower in your cell, tears rolling down your cheeks and helpless sobs escaping your mouth.

For a few minutes, there was silence, except for your hiccups and whimpers. Then…

BANG.
