Bro Twitter is so aphobic I swear I feel like most people there fucking hate the ace community for existing. I saw someone on a thread saying they never experience sexual desire and saying "maybe I'm broken or something" and I wanted to help and suggested maybe they might be ace, just a possibility, bc that's something a lot of ace people feel and it didn't even take 2 minutes for aphobes to find my tweet and start shitting on me

so I came out to two people yesterday: one told me asexuality doesn't exist and I'm just afraid of commitment, the other said "omg, haven't met anyone who's asexual, can you tell me more about your experience?"

I wanna try doing a Radioapple drawing session with other people who might be interested. Just one of those open ones for funsies and will be mostly focusing on fluff as that's my thing and I wanna meet this new community I'm in. But I don't know how. Do I need an app for this? It's unfortunate if it's because I have to pay something, but after my Finals week, I really wanna reward myself by drawing happy "shippy" stuff with you guys! ☺️ If it's at all possible, can someone tell me how? It would be greatly appreciated! 🙏 And maybe I'll even see if we can do this with those sweet Radioapple shippers on Twitter too! (And yes. I REFUSE to call it "X" or whatever.) I want it so baaad drawing with others in real time and seeing cute stuff is all I want in life PLEASE TvT haha I technically have so much to draw as I'm an art student, but it's just not the same as drawing with others while technically NOT being with others. It's like a happy middle ground for introverts and extroverts alike! as an aroace person, i love the Good Place SO MUCH. it feels so normal, so real, because of the varied approach to happiness that actually feels like it includes me.

michael and tahani especially. michael says things that are casually aroace - “kissing is gross” “i have no real ability to gauge physical attractiveness” (even when other eternal beings are apparently able to - ie the judge) etc - but also his whole arc revolves around becoming friends with people and wanting to experience mundane human life. he finds so much joy in normal things. yes, he’s a demon, and that can be a stereotype of aroace coded characters - but the good place is all about subverting those cliches!!! michael’s human and that’s the whole point!

and tahani reads very much as an alloaro. her romantic relationships read as more of a casual or platonic emotional investment though she’s certainly sexually attracted. but she generally treats her friends and lovers the same and her happy ending is to be self reliant, to cross of her bucket list, to make peace with her family, to help others and stand on her own. at one point she says that her ideal good place is living forever with the gang “all in separate houses, of course” and i dunno what’s more aro than that.

but best of all they're all just normal. these are brilliant and wonderfully broken and flawed human beings and that is so unbelievably rare for aspec rep. i feel like the world was meant for me in this show and i’m so incredibly grateful.
