You ever think Dick overhears someone say Jason was the most violent Robin and just gets so mad about it?

And it's not even about like, defending Jason's honor or anything. It's purely because he's just so incredibly insulted that people somehow forgot how much of an unhinged ball of rage he was as a child.

Barbara is facepalming about all the nonsense that's about to pop off that inevitably she's gonna have to clean up. Bruce just starts sweating profusely and desperately trying to talk Dick down because he suddenly remembers that time Dick kicked a criminal so hard they ended up in a coma for a week and smiled so brightly while doing it that the other goons there at the time just chose to jump off a three story building into the suspect sludge that filled Gotham harbor rather than face the unhinged ten year old on bright colors and pixie boots.

(a lot closer to an actual prompt than #1 was)

De-aged Dan, Danny, and Dani. Somehow Jason gets put in charge of them. Dan is the clear oldest at 9 or 10. Danny is 5-6. With Dani around 2-3.

Jason has been keeping them a secret from the fam. Tim, Cass, and Steph are the only ones that figured it out. (Alfred was Jason first panicked call). Dicks been busy, Damian isn’t paying attention because as long as no one’s actively dying it doesn’t concern him, and Duke is still shy about getting in other peoples business.

Bruce has NO FUCKING CLUE.

Bruce finds out 6 months later, at his Birthday. Jason sends a present ahead because he says he “isn’t sure he’ll make it”.

The present? A black mug. Across it is written “Worlds OKest Grandpa”. Tim, Cass, and Steph grin.

Bruce thinks Jason is just calling him old. But no, with perfect timing, Jason and his 3 half dead children walk into the room and yell “Surprise!”

Just had the fun idea of the batfam having water bottles full of lazarus water that they carry around and like, them customizing them. Drawing on the metal in Damian's case, covering them in stickers in both Tim's and Steph's case, weaving a hand warmer for the handle, etc Just each of them having their own thermos of sorts for patrol and missions with the Justice League outside of Gotham.

I need Billy to get Clark Kent-ed in a fic and sent to cover a Wayne gala

Billy and Bruce meet, names are exchanged, and Bruce worries if this kid is doing okay and if there’s a father position open. Billy is there for some Wayne-Sivana partnership with Magnificus, asking a lot of well informed questions and acting like a little cherub.

Them bad guys break in, one has a gun to Billy’s head and Billy, in true street kid fashion and with the experience from his last 57 kidnapping attempts; bites the hand over his mouth, throws the guy whose twice his size over himself and twists his arm, and dismantles the gun before Batman swoops in and saves the rest of the day.

Batman checks on him, asking if he’s okay, and Billy drops the good kid act and straight up tells him to piss off because he’s not getting adopted by a furry man-child who lives a state away from his hometown

Any Robin or sidekick that was there just cheers the kid on from the roof top screaming “DODGED THAT BULLET!” after having spent the whole gala trying to keep them apart before Bruce could bust out the adoption papers

Catatonic!Jason fic where he ends up back with the Bats before Talia grabs him. Due to situations, he gets left alone with the Joker for a bit before the rest of the Bats show up to rescue him. Jason's first lucid act of his second life is to strangle Joker to death. Bruce and family come back to find Jason wringing the life out of Joker's lifeless corpse, viciously.

Listen, I’d love for Bruce to be a good or at least decent dad to Cassandra Cain. But people need to realize that Batgirl (2000) is FAR from an example of him being a good dad to her.

There’s even an entire plot line comparing Bruce to David Cain in this era because despite Bruce hating and deriding David Cain for his abuse of Cass, Bruce went on to continue abusing her in both similar and different ways—emotionally and physically. He may not have shot her during training but that doesn’t mean he treated her well. The scenes people like to point out as “Batdad moments” in this series are often either abusive themselves in context, or occur right next to him doing something else abusive to her.

You can enjoy the comic, even love their dynamic, and still also recognize that it was often harmful to her & want it to be better. Stop letting Bruce’s abuse off the hook. If you want him to be a good dad you have to be able to realize when he isn’t being one.
