Quite possibly.

I do think that Magnus, (much like Alec in fact, if in a slightly different way), is very good at giving anyone he is with the experience that they most want.

He enjoys performing, whether he is highlighting or subverting expectations, I believe he loves putting on a show and he is perfectly capable of tailoring that show to his audience. Part of this is survival, part of this is avoiding conflict, part of this is politics, but it seems clear he does actually also like it or he wouldn't have chosen such an extravagant persona (or bothered with all the necessary closet space to hold his wardrobe 😅).

He likes planning parties which is a different skill-set than just attending them after all. He wants to create an environment, set the stage, organize the comforts and attractions and entertainment and etc.

Magnus does in fact also enjoy people. He likes parties and dancing and afternoon tea and anything else that gives him that jolt of interaction and appreciation. He does seem to legitimately be an extrovert who feels recharged after social interaction; especially if he knows he's the one who made it a good experience for everyone involved. (Or a bad one, if he's intimidating people. There's some pride involved, I think, in knowing he can have whatever effect he wants, regardless of what anyone else is expecting.)

He is much better at grand gestures of devotion and friendship (and money and power) because that ties back into him being in control of his interactions and his vulnerabilities and other people's expectations.

So I don't think he dislikes being a party person, or his extravagant High Warlock persona, or that he was at all unsatisfied with whirlwind dramatic relationships full of parties and dancing and shows and travel. Those are all things he can do, and do well, and gets a kick out of.

However satisfying it is to do the things you're good at, and know that you're sweeping someone else along with something they enjoy, I do think sometimes he hid himself within those extravagances; avoided smaller intimacies of domestic chores and quietly reading on opposite sides of the couch, etc. because then he'd have to share control, which is terrifying when you're as aware as he is of all the ways an intimate friend or partner can (purposefully or not) betray or hurt you.

He offers the high life because he can, and once upon he couldn't, and most people enjoy it and are impressed by it. HOWEVER, I do agree that that's not really the point for him, and sometimes it was definitely another layer of armor between his bruised heart and the world.

All he needs from a partner is their attention. (I know the love languages book is nonsense, but, it will be a useful framework for my rambling, so! Let's imagine it's not.) I think his personal love language is simply quality time. Someone who wants to be with him, regardless of time or place or consequences or conveniences, who doesn't just want his money or magic, but will not flinch from those parts of him either. Who may not need him to take care of them, but won't push him away when he does anyway.

Which is of course exactly what Alec offers with his single-minded focus and devotion to the partner he's chosen, and which most of us cannot do to at all the same extent. (Which is why Alec feels vaguely useless to Magnus most of the time, because everyone else he's ever known or loved has required his actions not just his presence, and is also why Magnus cannot understand that insecurity at all, because no one else has ever just looked at Magnus without all the trappings and been enraptured.)

But! Back to the original premise.

Alec is not an extrovert and hates putting on a show and does not trust large crowds of people to avoid being stupid, so in fact once they are together I do believe they are usually very quietly domestic at home, because the setting, for Magnus, is incidental to the fact that they're spending time together, so he is perfectly content making sure Alec is comfortable wherever they are, and that they have that quiet time together reasonably often.

(I do think Magnus and Alec spend a lot of time in physical contact, cuddling or hand-holding or working on similar projects in shared space, because Alec's love language is very clearly physical touch. He is more than capable of showing his love and care to people in their own languages, time or gifts or words or service, but all he really needs is for the people he's worried about to be close enough to hold onto.)

The Prefect could not get a single break and thus are always running around, either fixing trouble that their friends cause or just being all-around a helpful person to the stressed people they encounter. Their schoolwork and the Head Mage's personal tasks aren't part of the discussion but boy, do they have their hands full.

So, who could blame them for agreeing, when the head master of Royal Sword Academy came flocking to them and gave them an option to take a little "vacation" in their humble school?

"Are you sure about this, Prefect?" Asked Crowley, Majority of the staff members (Crowley, Crewel, Trein), were gathered in the office, along with RSA's head mage, Ambrose, to have a meeting about the Prefect's decision on the matter.

"Yes, Head Mage, I have decided and I think that it would be best for me to stay in RSA for awhile and take a rest" The Prefect replied, the other staff members nodded in understanding, "I see where the pup is getting at, even if they can rest in their dorm, who's to say that their friends wouldn't bother them?" Crewel inquired, He was in for the Prefect taking a break. As their Home room professor, he had seen how the workload that the Prefect has had got them ragged and tired, and in his eyes; they deserve a break where they aren't bothered to fix other people's problems.

"I see, but wouldn't the Prefect miss classes and thus give them more work to do once they get back?" Crowley did have a point, if the Prefect did just leave, their school work would amount to more than it usually was and they would run themself ragged trying to keep up.

"Ah, that's where I can come in, Crowley, I suggested this for Mx. Yuu, having a solution for the problem of such; They simply take the lessons in our school for the time being, as the students are being taught similar things, the only changes are the surroundings" Ambrose finally spoke, resting a hand on the Prefect's shoulder.

"I see, well, then if it is no trouble to you and the Prefect has agreed to it, I see nothing wrong with giving Yuu a rest week"

"WHAT??!!!"

Their yell was so loud you'd think the whole dorm shook, Ace and Deuce was, so far, having the worst reaction you could think. Ace came up to you frantically as he grasps your shoulders tightly and shook you; "YOU'RE GOING TO RSA? FOR WHAT?" Ace demanded, as Deuce was crest fallen on the lounge and didn't spoke a word.

Ace merely seized his shaking when Trey pried him off of you, and as Ace came farther, their Dorm Leader came closer. Riddle finally spoke; "Are you sure of this decision, Prefect? You can always just not leave and we'd gladly give you peace" You chuckled, "Yeah, I'm already sure, I got my bags ready and stuff"

Cater went up and wrapped an arm around you, "Oh, really~? Then just call and message us whenever you can, ok? We're gonna miss you so~~ much!" You patted his arm, "Of course, I will!"

Riddle was calm on the outside but he was rather sad when he wasn't gonna see you for awhile, You've always been a big help to him, always reminding him not to overwork himself and would check on him constantly, but thinking about it, He was part of the reason why you needed the rest and understood it.

Trey didn't have much of a reaction, He saw how stressed you were and with all the things you dealt with? He was surprised you haven't cracked, He decided to just pack you some snacks that he made to send you off your way

Cater wasn't too ecstatic that his favourite first year was leaving but like Riddle and Trey, he understood why, though, He does expect you to call and text him whenever you can and to update him on stuff

Ace wasn't as understanding as the others, he was understandably upset about it and he showed it; He was more confused on why it had to be RSA and not just stay in your dorm where everyone knows you're okay and safe, you didn't have to go there just to rest, ya know? They could take care of you themself!

Deuce was neutral, atleast, he looks neutral. He was rather upset, not at you, but at himself because he was technically part of the reason why you need a rest in the first place. If they weren't so troublesome, you wouldn't need to be suggested a place to rest. You could've stayed in the dorm if they weren't so troublesome that they'd bother you, so he decided to just give you a pat on the back and sent you off aswell, even if he didn't want you to go but someone had to stop Ace from roping you back.

You might not remember anything, but the day is engraved in your mind. How you picked up on your thumbs and how you aggressively bounced your leg. And how she looked like you, sighing and you immediately recognized the apologising look. You knew what she was about to say, yet you still didn’t want to hear it. Because as long as it didn’t leave the doctor's mouth, it is not true.

Lily knew something was wrong when it got… worse. Lily was by your side since the first day and she quickly accepted your shitty memory persona. She actually found it adorable. Like that you were her little sister she always wanted to take care of. That was before the doctor too.

You actually started seeing Mrs Williams after so many little jokes from others. You were always okay with Lily by your side. Not realising that she is actually your mum’s friend until other’s started pointing that out.

You knew you need to take care of yourself. You will not have Lily by your side all the time. You needed to know what the hell was wrong with you.

After Mrs Williams' words, everything started making perfect sense. And at some point of your life, it all got better. You figured out your feelings and your big heart and started dating those fascinating, marvelous and charming three men. Each of them being a unique piece of art and together creating a whole Louvre.

It went down pretty simple. Forgetting homeworks here and there, getting late into classes and other stuff. Something that you and Lily were used to. Something you both were able to handle.

Then it got a little bit worse. More than a little bit.

“Y/N? Where are you?” Lily’s sweet voice echoed through your room. “Lils? I’m right here. What’s happening?” you asked, completely not knowing what's happening. “You were supposed to be at dinner. It’s already past time…” And she knew.

“Oh.” you squaked. “I guess I just forgot.” you smiled at her innocently.

And oh how she heard this sentence leaving your pretty lips. She saw this look on your face so many times. The look that was telling her how sorry you are. But no one of it was your fault. It was not your fault.

“Y/N? What’s the day today?” she asked. Simply question that you unfortunately didn’t know the answer. Mrs Williams indicated that you might not recognise what days are.

“Monday?” you asked her. You really tried to think about it. “Or Wednesday?“ you tried again. “Honey, it’s already Thursday.” she sadly sighed. “Are you forgetting?”

“No no, I’m just distracted lately.” you tried to play it cool but she already knew what was going on. Even after all these years, you still felt ashamed of forgetting small things like that.

“We can work on it, okay?” she smiled and took your hand, squeezing it. “Okay.” you whispered with a sad smile. You loved how Lily always took care of you when you weren’t able. But you still felt ashamed of it. She was supposed to be outside with her life and not taking care of some teenager who is like a toddler.

At least, that’s what you thought. Lily loved taking care of you in that way.

And after that accident, you made a very strong routine: Lily always made sure that you were up in the morning, that you did your morning bathroom routine and then you went with her for breakfast. She knew that sometimes you feel sick after breakfast, so she always made sure to put some little snack into you before proper lunch.

She helped you with your homeworks and life.

“Don’t forget to take your pills!”

At some point it got really better. That much better that you didn’t need her help so much. You wrote down everything you needed to remember and your bed frame - right under the curtains - was full of colourful sticky notes of things you needed to remember.

It was fine, until you started dating James, Sirius and Remus and your secret wasn’t secret anymore.

“Remus is the one who loves chocolate, right?” you asked Lily as you laid on your bed, your diary and 'Remus John Lupin' name on page.

Lily smiled at this and nodded. “Yes honey, Remus is the one who loves chocolate. Especially a dark one with hazelnuts.” At this point, she remembered every little detail and thing you told her about them. Every little detail you wrote down into your diary about them.

“Thank you, Lils.” you thanked her and wrote it down because hazelnuts were new.

In a few days, your diary looked like the diary of some psychopath who is ready to stalk them every second of their life, but for you, it was really helpful. It was like your second brain.

Yes, second.

Lily was your first brain and your own brain was in third place.

Hey can you do how would members be toxic??? I know they are super duper cute but everyone has their toxicity inside right? After knowing them more I feel like Intak and Theo would have openly problems like Intak’s overconfidence and Theo’s overly judgemental not sure about other members tho

Okay I'm gonna answer this right here if that's okay and not make a separate post^^ also disclaimer that this is pure speculation based on how I see their personalities and my own opinion! (Also, while there are people who are toxic all on their own, I think that for a large part of humanity, our personality traits only turn into something toxic if paired with someone who we don't work with very well (or refuse to, for whatever reason), and therefore we bring out the worst in each other. Keep this in mind while reading^^)

Keeho:

I think he might sometimes be too dismissive or seem like he doesn't value your feelings enough (especially if you're a very emotional person). If you're someone who puts a lot of emphasis on how a situation makes you feel inside, he might go over that aspect too quick and prefer to look at it from a more logical perspective. This isn't per se a toxic trait, but it's something that can cause trouble if you don't communicate how you feel and what's important to you! However, I also think he's very mature and understanding, so once you tell him how you feel, he will give you the space to talk about the things that are important to you.

Theo:

First of all, Theo isn't judgemental. IF he were to judge you for something, it'd be more in a friendly teasing kind of way where he gives you that judgy look one second, and then you both laugh about it the other. What I do think could be a problem with him is that he seems very doubtful. If you can't talk openly with him and you're the type to play mind games, he will immediately distrust you, because he simply can't read you (and he won't be very reactive to most kinds of manipulation I think, because he isn't the type to waste his energy on that). He needs someone who can talk to him honestly and be straightforward, and in that I actually think he isn't toxic at all, because he wouldn't get involved in a relationship where chances are high that it will get toxic in the first place.

Jiung:

Now this one's really difficult to answer because he's very cautious and seems like he would always think hard about everything he does and says so that he won't do anything wrong and express himself honestly. However, I think that this introversion and cautiousness might cause trouble if his s/o isn't patient enough with him, or fails to be understanding that he, a lot of the time, is simply slower than average. Then you will both just end up being frustrated with each other. You will most likely be the one to start showing that to him through snarky comments or lashing out on him (or however else you show you frustrations), and though he will try to be understanding of you first, you will inevitably overstep some of his boundaries and when Jiung yells at you out of anger, you know you have really upset him, very likely having caused irreversible damage to the relationship.

Intak:

I know a lot of people would probably think he's overconfident and that would be his toxic trait. And while I do think he can sometimes get full of himself, I also think this is more of a part of his idol persona than the part of his personality that would show in a personal relationship. I think the biggest problem with him might be that he tends to get lost in his feelings. And while that is something that's probably important to himself for figuring out how he feels about things, it can become a problem in a relationship if he can't regulate that. Because when his own feelings overwhelm him, he might fail to understand and empathize with the other person about the most critical things, and someone is bound to be upset. However, he is also a very understanding and kind person, but I think that especially in very close relationships, he might sometimes put too little weight on the other person's opinions and emotions etc. if he's too blinded by his own feelings.

Soul:

He lives in his own world, and though that can be very fascinating for other people, it might also end up creating problems. He strikes me as the type of person to put his dreams before anything else - even other people, and some might see that as a negative thing. If your values aren't similar to his, a close relationship simply will not happen. And if it somehow happens anyway, but then later on your values clash, he will stand his ground and not let himself be convinced to think differently. This can seem toxic to some, and though he might have moments where he wants to talk it out and find a solution, I think in the end it's very likely the relationship will fall apart because of these fundamental differences.

Jongseob:

He's an overthinker. He's prone to creating problems in his head where there are none, and then be too afraid to talk about them because he thinks it's expected of him to take care of everything himself (which is obviously not how a relationship works). This can lead to a lot of frustration for both of you, but more for him, to the point he might feel resentment towards either himself or you. At the same time I think he will grow out of that as he gets older - at least partly. I think if his s/o can get him to trust them and put some of the baggage into their hands, there will be a way to work through this together and for him to learn how to resolve problems together and not take on all the responsibility himself.

A/N: So, some people enjoyed my first published work, and with that I decided to post this one. I'm not really confident about it, but maybe I'm overthinking. also, there might be grammar mistakes, since english isn't my first language. sorry about this :)

Anyway, This is another JASON x FEM!READER fic, because i love this boy heavily.

summary: (1,9k words) Jason build an habit of visiting her in the Manor. They try to comfort each other about life's shit, him more directly, and her by small actions. Also, the trope can be said as "not only one bed, but i want to share it with you", i guess. Reader is 17, last year of school. I perceive jay as 19, a bit after he adopted the red hood persona, so things are still harsh between him and brucie.

Promises - from me, to you.

She knew the night was rough when he shoved his helmet in her desk with harshness. Looking at his eyes, the reason of hiding them in the field is clear - he is unable to disguise his emotions. Those blue, green eyes (she's never been able to decide the color) stares at her. Jason's hair was a mess, the curls undefined and shiny from sweat, and his breath trembles as he fights against the tears trying to escape. She gets out of bed, the clock exposing the sinfulness of the time they usually meet.

"Balcony?" scratching the eyes, trying to get rid of the sleepiness, her tired voice awakes a feeling of guilt inside Jason. Hoping the sleep deprived her from noticing the drops in his cheeks, he pushes the guilt to the back of his mind; remembering himself that she told a million times his presence wasn't a bother.

"Yeah."

Out in the balcony, they stare at the sky. Gotham's lights steals all the shine from the starts, so it is nothing but a black cloak. He feels like smoking, an usual urge lately. Their forearms are supported by the railing, wind making her hair swing. He looks at her profile, and he can feel the adrenaline finally vanishing.

Caught staring, she looks at him back with a smile, "Rough night?"

"All of them have been, lately." She hums in agreement.

The girl plays with her fingers, looking at the city. Jason is unsure about the reasons he comes to her. Before these meetings, he would simply go to his apartment and stare at the wall. Or find something else to full his mind. But, after that first night they talked... It was so simple, so easy. No drama, no disagreements. He could just be himself without worrying about what she would think of him - because she never corrected nothing. Never gave him a lecture about his ways.

"Still studying for those exams?" He nedeed to talk about something. Anything other than cases, crimes or fucking death. Just small talk.

"Most of the time. Is hard, you know. Sometimes my mind tricks me into thinking I'm unable to complete the tasks."

"Why's that? You have some of the best grades in your class."

"I'm not sure. There's always someone outstanding me, and not only in school. I just... I kinda compare myself a lot, I guess."

He knows the feeling. Growing in the Manor, he usually compared himself to Richard and even to Bruce. He had to die to understand - he was his own person. Even so, in some aspects, those tricks always catch him too.

"I know it sounds cliche, but there's really no reason to compare yourself."

"I know. I mean, look at this city. Millions of people, millions of stories. Can you imagine all that goes on? And I'm so lucky to live here now. Most of these people would kill to have the life I got. But I still feel so... undeserving."

His eyes follow her movements, now her back supported by the railing. Hair swinging a little in front of her face. A perfect movie take, he thinks. He also thinks that, if she believes being undeserving of this life, Jason can't assure if he deserved to come back to it. Actually, he's sure he does not. Hell, he didn't even wanted to come back.

Realizing Jason went into the depths of his mind, she sighs, trying to bring him back.

"I compare myself to you guys the most." As she expected, this called attention.

"Why?"

A bitter laugh. "Why? Jason, look at you. You give so much for this city. Even if the others disagree with your methods, you stand for yourself and... I don't know. You guys do so much. I feel like time's running out and I'm unable to keep the pace."

"We do this so you, and other people, can have their own pace. There's no reason in sacrifice if everyone does it."

She tilts her head to look at him, not appearing to notice his sudden change of tone, "I know." The wind gets stronger, her arms shivering.

"Let's go inside. You're cold." He opens the balcony glass door, pulling her in.

"Come sit with me." She jumps into the bed playfully, petting her side for the sake of his presence.

"I'll dirty your bed."

"So I'll stand with you." And she did stand, face in the height of his chest. His heart pounded at the difference of power between them. Not because he finds said difference amusing, but it's the way she acts around him; comfortable, happy with his presence. Even when both of them know he could do to her - with her - wathever he wanted. But she trusts him. With this in mind, he does a silent promise to her; but mostly, to himself: He'd always use this in the sake of protecting her. Realizing he's been quiet for some time, he laughs.

"I think it's time for me to go, actually. Sun's rising and you need to go back to sleep."

I don't think I deserve this. His eyes, against his wish, might have revealed the process of thinking.

Her brows furrowed, and he never found this girl more beautiful than now. "Stay, Jason. You have a room in the Manor, just take a shower and come back here."

Even knowing she didn't meant that, he felt shivers in his back. I'll always come back to you, the words begged to leave his lips.

"Nah, you do need to sleep. And I don't want to find Bruce in the middle of the corridor, honestly."

"Take a shower in my bathroom, then. I'll grab your clothes, you had a rough patrol. Just relax a bit, we can even watch a movie if you want."

He ponders about the tempting offer. Fuck it, fuck what Bruce will think if he finds out, and fuck his own feelings of excitement about sharing this moment with her. She's right, the night was rough and he deserves to have ordinary, simple moments. He has the right to seek something- and to seek someone. And he has the right to do something about it.

"Okay. There are fitting clothes in the first drawer of the closet." He kept some casual clothes in the Manor, for situations that he might want to stay. He's glad he ever believed one day he'd want to be there.

Entering her bathroom, while she sneaked into the corridor, he observed every aspect of the place. The elegant curtains, the big mirror. Her products for skin, and her hair. All from the greatest quality - thanks Bruce for taking such good care of her - and soft towels. Taking off his dirty clothes and tossing them behind the door, he allows the water to clean his body and mind.

His hair would smell like her for the whole next day, and he felt like a creep for realizing it, enjoying it and being unable to control the little smile in his face.

A knock pulled him out of the thought, "Jay, your clothes!" He grabbed a towel and rolled in his hips. Opening the door just enough to grab it, he thanked her, getting ready to bed.

Her bed was soft. He sitted in the end of it, watching her choose a movie in some streaming platform. The pajamas fitted perfectly. A small shorts, socks with a lot of small Yodas stamped. A cute long sleeve shirt, but a bit tight. Her hair a mess from the wind. He stared at her, trying to make his eyes stare up.

"Oh I swear, If I had to choose between only two movies it would be so easy. The problem of this world really is the amount of possibilities."

"Hey. Forget the movie. Let's just..." Just what?

Just stare at each other laying in bed? He would actually like this. But it's strange to word it.

"Just what, Jason?"

"Talk?" He sounded like a stupid, inexperienced teenage boy. Well, he was feeling like one- so that's fair.

Giving up the movie, she turns off the TV.

"Fine, get in the sheets. I'm cold!" They both enter inside the sheets, a comfort warm embracing their bodies. He realizes how tired he is, eyes heavy.

Her eyes trail Jason's face shamelessly. She didn't felt that urge of pretending not to stare like he did. She just observed him, enjoying his features.

"You're so pretty, Jay." His heart jumped. What does he answer to this? Compliments back? No, kinda clumsy. Denies it? She'd get mad at him.

"Ahm. I- okay." She laughs, lighting the whole room.

"And soooo cute."

"Stop it, now you're saying this only to tease me." He feels a smile growning in his own face.

"Sleep here with me, Jason?" She asked suddenly, after some moments of silence. Her voice went low, as if she was unsure about wording the wish. His mind went quiet. They agreed of him staying a little more, but he'd been sure she would eventually ask him to leave. He licks his lips, trying to choose a proper answer;

"I have my own, and I don't want to bother you."

"Yeah, but I wanna make sure you really sleep. Besides, I feel a bit scared at nights here, being honest. I'm also alone because Bruce and the boys do patrol. Would be nice have a company."

Bullshit. He knows she doesn't feel scared- it's impossible to have fear about the exterior in the Manor. Everybody knows about the absurd high security. But, feeling alone - that's usual. She's trying to convince him to stay, he decides.

"Fine. But don't get used to it." She doesn't know, but he says this more to himself. Don't get used to it.

"You said this exactly when we first talked at the balcony, and we do it almost every week."

"This is different."

"Yeah, yeah. Guess I'll have to bring your clothes to my room." Please do this. Let me be here always. He forces a laugh,

"Go to sleep." She doesn't close her eyes.

"You first, jaybird."

"Are you what, five?" A chuckle.

"No, Jason. I want you to sleep with me. Hold me. Stop being oblivious." So confident. She states that with so much assurance. He envys this briefly; and his heart skipped a bit as he remembers himself they are friends, she's asking him to hold her because they are close friends. Right?

His hands are trembling for some reason. "Right."

He had promised to be the protector, and realized it was stupid of him to do so. Stupid of him, because in the end, he's the one feeling safe while having his arms around her. Her back pressed in his chest, her smell lulling him to sleep. The softness of her body made him hold tight, hand resting on her waist. His last thought before drowning in dreams was the sure this would be the best sleep of his life.

That night had been rough on him; just as his whole life had. And Jason build walls around him - walls that he always believed were unbreakable. Proving all of his sures wrong, she was melting all barriers without a single weapon.

Sometimes, protection is not about force - but the simple will of being close. Is about choosing to be together, even when you don't have to.

Listening to his steady breath and getting closer to Jason's body, she realizes;

You completed the task, girl. You deserve this.

And she smiled.

can i just hear some of ur jeff winger thoughts. abt anything related to him. ur one of the only people ive seen who rly Gets It yknow

yes. thank you for this ask, i will talk about jeff literally anytime! i have such strong feelings about his character! which you can all probably tell by now lol!

jeff is bisexual. if you don’t agree, that’s totally okay, but i believe it. there’s genuine substance in the show that points to it, and i am confident that if this show was created a few years later, they would’ve explored his sexuality more. he’s kinda private about his sex life besides when it’s the focus of an episode anyway, so i’m of full belief that it could’ve just never came up, or jeff didn’t feel a need to bring it up. sometimes the group just doesn’t talk about certain things anyway.

i also don’t personally ship him with anyone. i don’t think through the show, (especially at the end), he was ever at a part of his life in which he could hold a stable relationship, and i appreciate his friendship dynamic with each character more than relationship-y. i don’t find anything wrong him having casual sex, or short-term like with slater, but a long term relationship was not something i believe he could’ve handled healthily during his time at greendale.

i love analyzing his friendships with everyone, because it’s clear he cares about each of them deeply, and his relationships with each are unique. i find this very telling about his character and his whole experience learning how to care about others. he didn’t have anyone really, truly caring about him before he came to greendale, and his adapting to an environment in which he is loved was certainly a change for him.

he grows to love his friends deeply despite being afraid to show vulnerability. he holds everyone at arms length and is very closed off due to his inexperience in letting people see the true him. he’s hid behind this persona of who he thought he should be- who he needed to be- for so long that in a way, he was getting to know himself as his friends were. lawyer jeff was alone in the world as he fought to survive, and gaining this found family at greendale taught him how to simply live his life freely.

this is pretty long already so if anyone has more specific asks i’ll totally delve into stuff further. also i got another ask that specifically mentioned dark topics related to jeff so i’ll talk about the darker things (his disordered eating, self-esteem issues, mental illness, etc) when i reply to that one :)

these are just my own thoughts on these few topics, and if anyone has alternative opinions that’s cool of course- and i’d totally love to hear/discuss them if you’re willing.

Any thoughts on Karen Strassman? She played Olivia, Anna (of all kinds) and Hana!

Outside of it, she’s the current voice for Rouge the Bat, Aigis from Persona 3 and Nanako from Persona 4.

I've gotta put this out there, because any time I bring up an actor/actress who isn't totally left wing, I get messages telling me why said actor/actress is the spawn of Satan and I shouldn't like them. It happened with Amanda Miller (Someone who isn't even right wing) and it happened the last time I brought up Karen Strassman.

So again: I literally do not care about an actor/actress's politics, whether they're left or right wing. I care that they're not harming someone (i.e. Daman Mills) or being an asshole (Helena Taylor). This isn't a left or right thing, I just simply DO NOT care about someone's politics. And if people want to block me for saying that, that's totally fine and I have no hard feelings.

ANYWHO.

I like Karen! I like her role as Olivia (Who I'm surprised was pretty popular for a while and then just dropped off the face of the earth when it came to alts), I like her work as Anna... And while I actually don't like Hana's character, I do like her work as Hana. And outside of that, I adore her Nanako (as someone who got deeply invested when I played P4Golden), and I actually think she's a good Rouge, even though Kathleen Delaney was more my favorite. And I can't wait until Mozu gets added to FEH. Something tells me she'll show up on the next Fates banner.

Performance! I think her performance as Olivia between her pegasus alt and her Festival Arts alt is interesting; in the former, she's much more shy and timid (gives me big Fluttershy vibes), while she seems to feel very comfortable and more confident in the latter. It's an interesting distinctive tonal switch between the two. For the two variations of Anna in FEH so far (Commander Anna and Awakening Anna), there's a difference in their emotions that conveys what is the most important reason for each Anna to be earning money: For the commander, it's to keep funding the Order of Heroes, so she's a bit more serious and doesn't really talk as much about the money itself, more about the Order's funds in general. For Fates, it's to personally get rich, so she usually sounds mischievous and charismatic, to draw people in. I think it would actually be fun someday to have a full Anna banner as an April Fool's joke with the Annas that aren't in the game yet: Tellius Anna, Fates Anna, Fodlan Anna, etc. And finally, Hana. I think her voice for Hana is good, but... Something happened to the way she was pronouncing Sakura's name between her Ninja alt and her Valentine's alt. In her Ninja alt, she pronounces it correctly, but in her Valentine's alt, she goes "Sa-Koo-Ra". But then in her Ninja alt, she also pronounces Kagero's name weirdly too. I blame less of that on Karen and more of that on the voice director; they're the ones who are supposed to know the correct pronunciations of the names and should be guiding the VAs on how to say them right. Still a good portrayal for Hana though, she's energetic and a little spicy sometimes. Just makes me wish her support in Fates wasn't so unreasonable ("How dare you make Lady Sakura cry by getting kidnapped!" Like bro, WHAT?! Corrin watched their surrogate father get bombarded with arrows he shielded them from, then get slashed. How is any of that a literal child's fault?!).

I think she's a good fit for all three of the characters. Just... fix her pronunciation issues as Hana and we're all good.

However, when it comes to range... Look, as a general actress, I know that Karen has range. Her sultry voice for Rouge compared to her child voice for Nanako are pretty decent. But in FEH, I'll be honest: you can pretty easily tell that Karen voices all three, and Hana and Anna sound pretty similar to each other. So for FEH, I'll say the range is not really there.

Overall, I'd put Karen at an 8/10. I still don't know why they replaced her in Engage (And I don't know if that means that Monica will be playing child Anna when she gets added or if Karen will take over as child Anna), but as an actress I enjoy her work.

{{ SURE THING Time for the long overdue Takaya and his dad Ikutsuki ramble !

Now full disclosure, a lot of anything regarding Takaya and Ikutsuki is super up in the air and I have to do canon divergent headcanons for a lot of it just to make sense of what their arrangement must be like. BUT

Ikutsuki is one of the only people in the world who can get under Takaya's skin. Anger Takaya all you like, annoy him to no end, but you will never know the hatred Takaya has for not simply what Ikutsuki put him through-- no, he doesn't dwell on the past he so tries to assure-- but for the way Ikutsuki's finger prints linger inside him. He loathes the much weaker but still there pavlovian impulses of a well trained weapon, the way his heart still quickens just a little at a cold enough tone. If there's any evidence Takaya was ever a child its then, and he despises the feeling. He hates that despite all his talk of a carefree existence every once in a while his past still has to yank him back.

And painfully to him, it itches at that self loathing, "failed experiment" label, where he wouldn't have this burden hanging over him if he could just find the resolve to control his persona with sheer will power. He puts off taking his suppressants sometimes just to try to see if he can fight it, and he comes closer than the other two, but... not quite.

Takaya has to talk to Ikutsuki very rarely, but still more often than he wants to. For all the freedom these lab kids have earned, they're on nothing but a longer leash. One Ikutsuki can pull at any time. Team Strega still needs Ikutsuki's persona suppressant pills. The lab kids can not simply escape containment and run off due to this dependency, Takaya had to personally negotiate their current means of freedom. They have to get their pills, but Strega also knows everything about the doctor's secret past, with Jin more than capable of spilling Kirijo's secrets. And though it may seem that Ikutsuki is the one with all the bargaining chips, in that if they tell the truth they must go down with him, since he has their pills, but Takaya reminded the good doctor one very crucial detail: He has raised children who are not afraid to die.

He warns the chairman-- DO NOT become so much of an inconvenience to us that we'd rather die than put up with you. ( And trust me-- it is not hard for me to rather die.)

And there was no greater pride in Takaya than getting to pull back on that leash. Though he's still dependent on him, the tone has drastically changed. Strega was no longer this back up plan, some failed prototypes he could pull out if he's out of options, they weren't things he could use anymore. They were a volatile, unpredictable threat to keep at bay. Which was a far more glowing description, in Takaya's opinion. Now the rule was this-- stay out of our way and we'll stay out of yours.

If he can help it, he prefers Ikutsuki delivers the pills without having to ever see him. But on occasion someone does have to meet face-to-face, and its usually Takaya that speaks with him alone. To spare the others the discomfort and because he's always handled him personally before. If they talk in person, Ikutsuki probably requested it specifically-- Which means he wants to negotiate something.

Though Ikutsuki can get under Takaya's skin, Takaya can also read Ikutsuki like a book and always call him on his bull the second he picks up on their faux charm. ( Who do you think he learned his own mind games from-- ) But Takaya's supernatural tie to the inner shadow of others makes him able to outdo the doctor's mind games at times.

Takaya thinks very little of the doctor. Not just for personal resentment, but because he finds him weak, cowardly, and devoid of even Takaya's strange brand of honor. Their utter disrespect for divinity and the supernatural is somehow more shallow than even the protagonist's party, and he finds Ikutsuki's obsession with being the "chosen one" that can somehow justly survive a shared and universal death ( imagine not understanding the blessing of death so severely! ) because he's so beloved by the gods to be absolutely laughable.

My OnlyOneOf Concert Experience!

On April 7th I was lucky enough to get a VVIP ticket to participate in OnlyOneOf’s Dallas fansign, hi-touch, and concert, and I want to share my thoughts on it! Naturally I will be biased as I’m a huge fan of them, but I hope this information can be informative or at least interesting.

The first thing that struck me was how socially comfortable the whole experience was. The only other groups I’ve seen in concert are Ateez two times and P1Harmony once. While I wasn’t uncomfortable at these concerts, I suffer greatly from social anxiety. Even when I’m handing out freebies I can’t look most people in the eye or start full conversations. Typically I go alone as well, so it tends to be a fun but lonely affair. However, the accepting and warm atmosphere as well as my own self improvement managed to pull me out of my shell this time and I conversed with many other attendees and even made friends with one!

I think too that the attitude of fans reflects qualities of the artist. Through the personas and values they portray in their music, including but not limited to some of the loudest queer acceptance in kpop right now, OnlyOneOf have crafted a space in which their fans can be comfortable dressing and acting the way they want to, enjoying the things they enjoy proudly and behaving kindly. Many of the attendees I talked to spoke of OnlyOneOf as a beacon of hope, comfort, and safety. I think this rings true for me as well.

The fansign was lovely, as I was able to give four of the members my art. Kyubin and Rie, I WILL draw you and give you that art as soon as I can. Unfortunately I was at a total loss of words and couldn’t express what I felt in my heart. I hope they can feel it when they look at my drawings. The group photo was extremely fun, simply because I got to make a heart with Kyubin… what a charismatic man. On the whole, this concert really made it impossible for me to have a bias. The members are so charismatic and lovely in real life.

The actual concert itself was amazing, my first time ever being so close to the stage. No one was pushing or being rude, and I actually had a bit of personal space! The performances were amazing of course, OnlyOneOf are true performers. Their choreography is artistic and beautiful and the way they move is surreal, even more so when you see it in real life. They’re great at interacting with the fans as well, coming up with fun stories and jokes between performances. None of it felt stale or forced which… unfortunately I felt Ateez was when I saw them the second time (a very small gripe for a great concert). Definitely a plus for them as a group.

Vocal-wise, the boys are great but it’s hard to distinguish between the guide and them when you’re so close to the loud ass speakers. Or they weren’t singing live very much. Or they’re so good you can’t tell them apart from a guide sometimes. It could be any of that. The moments where I could here their live vocals were beautiful though, very clean and stable.

Negatives of the experience… to be honest, there were very few. The biggest was the lack of seats. This is a personal issue for me to fix on my end as well, as I have hip problems when standing for long periods of time. Towards the end, I was in a ton of pain, having stood maybe four or five hours. Something to consider when buying something general admission. If you have difficulty standing, it will be hard for you to participate.

The only other negatives are slight annoyances. Typical fans yelling while members are talking because they want their main character moment (probably less than there were at Ateez? I could be wrong tho). Also I’ve heard some very negative things about the woman mainly in charge of this tour on Studio Pav’s side. I can’t verify much but it’s something I’ve been side eyeing. How the hell are you gonna be xenphobic and manage Kpop tours… but I don’t really know her so I can’t say much else for sure. The concert was well organized, the staff were slightly aggressive but that’s understandable considering how rowdy Kpop fans can get.

All in all, I would 100% buy the same ticket again. Only $205 and you get a truly healing concert experience and memories to cherish. I will definitely see OnlyOneOf in concert next time I’m able to, and I will be closely following their musical journey as it hopefully continues for much longer. They’re doing something very special, creating a truly safe space for queer people when it often feels like those are becoming fewer and fewer. I look forward to their continued growth.

01. What happens when someone touches Scarlett's hands?

Her hands are very sensitive due to a trauma she developed during her servant days, involving her fingers, hands and part of her arms being broken as a punishment. Nowadays the pain it's mostly in her head, her hands don't physically hurt that much. Plus, as an aspiring musician, her hands are crucial for anything she puts her heart to, so she protects them at all costs by wearing gloves daily. When someone threatens her hands or is capable of inflicting some harm on them, she recoils.

To answer the question of What exactly happens: it usually depends on how and who. She trusts no one by default, but it's not a 'lost case', if you will.

→ How, based on pain levels, will determine the level of her reactions. Going from flinching or complaining, for gentle(ish) approaches, to a screaming and apologizing mess, when it actually hurts.

→ Who, based on trust levels, is how likely it is for the other to get one reaction or another. A stranger is not allowed to touch her hands, no matter the intentions. However, she'd be less hostile with a friend or potential interest, and offer little-to-no negative reaction with a lover. She won't react whatsoever if the one provoking the harm is herself (i.e. a strong grip on something/someone, injuring herself, etc).

Needless to say, fear is an automatic reaction in any situation where her hands are involved. As soon as the 'pain' is gone, or she realizes (sometimes too late) that there wasn't any harmful intention behind the action, she snaps back to her cheerful persona like it never happened.

Otherwise, if the harm was intentional, she will not talk to whoever witnessed her utterly vulnerable and broken side after this for a while, and expect serious resentment from her if they ever meet again.

Now you can have this in mind or not, I just warned you (?).

02. What does Scarlett's blood taste like? Is her smell different?

Another thing that depends. This time, on which form she's in.

As some kind of hybrid Ghoul, she's able to shift from human to Ghoul and vice versa, including a crow. Her blood changes as well, so does her smell for the demon nose, and her body temperature.

In her human form, her blood would be rather average, no special flavor other than the characteristic metallic iron one, and it might get stronger or softer given her emotions (just to follow with the DL lore ig. I don't have any flavor HCs for each emotion lol-). Her natural smell might strike as odd, not exactly good or bad, and she wears a citric perfume daily to cover it (mostly from humans). Plus, while she's not as warm as a normal human, she's warmer than a cold-blooded demon.

However, in her Ghoul form, one way to put it it's that her body turns into a living corpse. Her blood turns into a repulsive goo, rotten in flavor and smell as it is the Ghoul nature. If she's not bleeding, though, her smell would remain as something bitter or dismal, if you will. A smell that someone could describe as the smell of death. Lastly, her body turns absolutely cold.

Her crow form is just like a regular crow. Nothing special other than the possibility of turning back into a full-grown woman(?). But don't hurt this poor crow pls.

03. Why isn't she always in her Ghoul form?

Since she can choose when to shift, it's simply because she doesn't want to, honestly. She's more used to her human form, and she would rather walk around like that with humans than in the shape of what she, and many, consider a monster.

If she visits Rottenberg, though, she'd be in Ghoul form by default. The deadly aura eventually turns her into one even if she decides otherwise.

04. How does her Ghoul side trigger? Can she control it?

Scarlett can control the Ghoul urges most of the time. She can decide when to turn into a Ghoul or a crow in normal circumstances. However, a strong smell of blood/flesh or sudden taste of it (without her anticipation) can be enough to trigger her. This means: She can, for instance, feed on someone and remain normal if she puts her mind to it, but if she's forcibly fed or there's a lot of blood in a scene she just came into, she might struggle more to keep it together.

05. Why does she go to school?

Why not.

Well, for now let's say that she loves the piano in the music room. An unhealthy amount. She goes to school to play it, and also attends a few classes to not get expelled. She's in third year, like Shu, Reiji, Ruki, and Kino. Also Carla, in theory, but he attends a special classroom alongside Shin, so I don't think he counts? Any OC from third year might share classes with her, too.

Scarlett constantly fails school years, much like Shu does, but she (also?) doesn't care. She wants the piano.

06. Does Scarlett know Kino in every AU?

07. Knowing this information, should my sadistic/rude/toxic character keep distance to respect her boundaries?

Nah. LOL. You don't have to tone your character down, but have in mind that I won't either. She will react to what she considers disrespectful or threatening, usually in a bad way, but that's the fun of interactions imo.

I'm not strict with X character respecting her boundaries if it's not an in-character thing for them to do. I'd rather have mine respected, at least. I don't take in-character harm personally whatsoever, I think it's all part of character and relationship development. I like to think that if there's any conflict, they can overcome it if they want to, too. So, as long as I'm replying, I'm okay with the situation, even if she's not 💀 (unless I forget, but that's another problem). I'm also going to let you know if something crosses my limits.

08. What does the URL mean?

禁断の彼女 — Kindan no kanojo — Forbidden girlfriend

It's just wordplay I made up from a bunch of things:

→ A reference to DL 2nd season's OP: 禁断の666 → The use of kanojo as 'girlfriend' as an alternative of 'bride', referencing the DL lore. She's no bride, no human, no Eve, therefore forbidden to romance (allegedly). → Kanojo can also be used as a sweet nickname for a significant other in third person. It's also used as a pronoun: 'she'. However, it doesn't literally translate as 'she's forbidden', although it gives the same message. → It might give a hint that she's not allowed to be 'used' or 'owned' without repercussions, though.

09. Is Scarlett always weak? Why does she fight back if she knows she can't win?

I've been asked this in many shapes and forms so let's get the cat out of this bag(?).

For one, Scarlett is not one to lower her head just because that's what she's meant to do, but rather she'd attempt to voice her thoughts, her standpoint, and see who is willing to hear it. Of course, this fact doesn't mean she'll make the smartest decisions, or that she'll deal with stuff the most healthy way when things don't go her way. She's not perfect, she's far from that, but she wants to try, if there's a small chance for that, instead of giving up right away.

In a lore-based reasoning: now that she's not enslaved, she doesn't want to act like a slave. And she won't. If anything, she'll do everything she couldn't before. A question always lingering in her mind is: 'Am I really that worthless or did I just met the worst kind of people?' So she puts everyone into a test. Good luck if you want to force her, though, probably everyone will lose there(?).

That said.

Scarlett can gain extra strength with blood, or feeding herself with flesh. Then again, not too much. She could reach a vampire's strength in this artificial way and, depending on how she uses that 'power', the time it takes for it to wear off depends on the quantity she's taken. I personally don't recommend testing this out too often but who am I to stop you(?).

10. Can I show you this thing I made based on her (drawing, drabble, HC, etc.)?

harriet is to me very interesting as the obligatory tsundere because she breaks tradition in that regard

yes she has the short temper and is easily flustered, but a tendency with tsunderes (especially in more low-brow anime) is that she will be in some way superior to the protagonist and lord that over him. also slapstick violence! because, you know, violence is funny if its against men /s

initially harriet is a classist ass because she's born with a silver spoon in her mouth and she is completely used to everyone bowing to her talent and status. she gets to have this haughty persona because she's never been challenged before.

thus, she is easily flustered when she is challenged. reinhardt can get through her defenses so easily because he simply does not give a shit. he does not care about her status at all. (at least, he pretends not to care outwardly, but that's another can of worms).

Harriet is flustered because he is so far below her standards that she cannot fathom how he could do this. so she walls off and calls him an idiot which he also does not care about because he just throws it right back.

rich noble talented harriet is called an idiot by a beggar. of course she's angry.

(he just likes metaphorically pulling on her pigtails cuz her pouting face is cute. she is a wet kitten in a cardboard box.)

harriet learns that sometimes, there will be people she can't plead status to (like her father, or bertus) and people who will ignore her status (reinhardt, and basically all temple staff)

he forces her to interact like an equal for the first time in her life. she's all bluster. so she only manages to change their dynamic and gain his respect when she starts showing actual skills. ykno. accomplishments by her own merits.

i feel like this is first really seen in the fuckin. what's it called. king of the jungle arc. where she started learning useful small magic instead of just spell of huge explosion, which ends up having way more utility for the whole thing. like underwater breathing. or spell of flashlight. and then she does end up being one of the last people still in the game!

and even later then that. after the darklands arc she grows closer to her class bcuz reinhardt is too busy trying to cope with ptsd. and there we already see character development from her because in this situation where reinhardt is obviously struggling mentally she forgoes her usual banter and instead just has an emotionally honest conversation with him. and they do bond! as equals!

i do actually understand how her embarrassment from reinhardt's teasing would evolve into a crush? because again he's the first person to challenge her. it's not just love at first sight. he challenges her to be better.

again, he's the person who needles her into learning magic based on its utility and not the prestige of the spell. he's the one who shows off her skills to her classmates in the jungle arc. he's good at making other people better themselves. it's vry understandable for someone to want recognition from a person who does that.

and after the beach arc, where again, they have an emotional conversation and actually bond and show each other respect, their dynamic takes a definite shift.

harriet starts teasing him back. and he hates it. instead of attacking his own lack of status, she starts firing back his variety of insults, namely questioning his actions and motivations whenever she can, and now he's on the backfoot in conversation.

after a moment without teasing, its now full force from both sides, and shows off the utter truth;

they're both tsunderes. and always have been.

bluebell : does your muse learn from their past , or are they prone to repeating the same mistakes ?

so here's the thing, dennis does learn from their past and they are prone to repeating the same mistakes. even if he has done something wrong in the past, he will most likely continue to do that wrong thing over and over again. most of the time when dennis does something wrong it's because they feel like they have to in order to keep up their persona. there are some situations where he will learn from his mistakes and avoid them in the future, but for the most part he will simply continue to repeat them. it's like he's stuck in a loop of bad behavior. he realizes that his actions have consequences, but he will always think of a way to deal with that consequence or avoid it entirely ( sometimes he will just push the consequence onto someone else ).

lavender : how easy is it to gain your muse’s trust ? once their trust is broken , how might one go about mending it ?

it is very difficult to gain dennis' full trust. they will often pretend that they fully trust someone else when they really do not. they've got trust issues that run deep. when trusting someone you have to give up some of your control, and dennis does not like giving up control. he needs to be in full control over a situation, and have full responsibility. he doesn't trust that others will be able to do a task well. the mentality of "oh i'll just do it myself". once dennis' trust is broken, it will take a lot of time for it to be mended. a long time. it probably took a long time for them to fully trust in the first place. but after he fully gives himself over to someone and fully trusts them, if it's broken he will pull back hard. most likely lash out with anger as well. in order to mend it ?? patience. so much patience. also persistence. just trying to demonstrate that they can be trusted again.

sunflower : what brings your muse the most joy in life ?

a sense of community. even though they will swear up and down that the gang are all idiots, that they're incompetent and annoying, he loves them. he does feel loved by them. the one thing in his life that truly brings him joy is the sense of community that he and the gang have formed over the years.
