I'm starting to think one reason (of many) you're such a good writer is you think in words instead of mental images. It could make it easier to express yourself in words to other people. When I write I have to try to fully express what's on in the three dimensional, surround sound smellovision cinema in my head, and I will never be able to do that.
I do wonder -- whether for good or ill it has definitely had an impact. (For new readers, I have aphantasia, the lack of a "mental eye" or inner visual world, which you can read more about in the "aphantasia fantasia" tag; it's disproportionately common to neurodiverse individuals, along with poor autobiographical memory). I don't know if it's better training for expression, because without knowing how words invoke mental images I don't really know how effective I'm being, but I think it does make for easier first drafts. And probably some of the popularity of my fanfic in specific is that it allows people to project a good deal onto the story/characters, because I tend to keep the visual details vague.
One of the longest-running complaints about my work is that it's much of a muchness, all my characterizations and stories are the same. While on the one hand that's obviously not a compliment, I think that is also attached to the fact that I'm not very visually specific, so not entirely my fault; if people are reading the same things into my work over and over it's probably because of a lack of imagination on their part as well. (I've tried to work on this as a skill, but I'm aware that haters gonna hate, so I don't take envy-driven criticism too much to heart anymore.) I think it's less homogeneity than it is simple vagueness.
But yeah also I would imagine if you're driven to give a very specific visual impression it would be SUPER frustrating if you feel like you can't, either because there aren't words or because you don't feel you have the skills yet. A lot of skill in writing is just practice, but "just practice" is a real minimizing phrase. I'm not someone who subscribes to the idea that talent doesn't matter, because I think it does; I think it's much easier to practice when you derive pleasure from the thing you're practicing, which I think is linked to talent.
Yeah, I dunno. Certainly it explains why most of my early adult writing was in theatre, where you're leaving a lot up to the designers and director in any case.
Rutherford & Fry did a podcast episode about aphantasia that I should probably get back to listening to, but I can't listen to much of it at once; some of it is the sense of being perceived, but some of it is also envy, because they talk to someone who has aphantasia but not ADHD and she's like "Yeah my mind is super quiet, it's nice" and I may not see images or hear noises in my head but still somehow manage a truly inconvenient level of chaos there. :D

Love and Other Historical Accidents by @pacific-rimbaud
Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy never intended to blow up their life's work, but that's rather what they've gone and done. Now they're trapped 200 years in the past, with a broken Time Turner, a missing snuff box, a handful of overly-eligible daughters, and a House-elf in a cable knit cardigan. It will require the combined power of their keen intellects to get them home, if they'd stop arguing long enough to use them. As it turns out, history is just one damned accident after another.
Fandom: Harry Potter
Relationship: Hermione Granger x Draco Malfoy
Art by @gingerhuneybee, @jjuuppiter, @jaxxartbox, & yours truly
My first fanbind!
L&OHA is an impeccable story and is so very dear to me. This was the fic that made me go “I want that on my shelf!”, so here we are.
keep reading for more binding info and to see my gushing on the fic.
QUICK SPECS
153,854 words | 571 pages | 5″ x 8.5″
Binding Method: 3 Piece In Boards Bradel  Body Font: Adobe Caslon Pro Decorative Font: IM Fell English
I am very proud of this book, having accomplished many firsts with it. My first book that I rounded and backed, sewed double-core endbands on, painted the edges, and used toner reactive foil and HTV on!
ON THE STORY
Sighs. What more can I say? It’s simply brilliant. A unique multifaceted story with incredible dynamics, clever foreshadowing, great character studies of Draco and Hermione, and such beloved original characters. It’s comedic and refreshing but it also takes on grief and goodbyes, and heartbreak. It’s fucking romantic and also So nuanced. I dislike stories that spoon-feed every little thing about the character, so the parlor tricks on this one? Ate every crumb of it. It was filled with implications and was misleading in the best sense. You’ve got to be an astute reader to catch some things the first round (which I definitely wasn’t).
While it doesn’t entirely shy away from typical lovey-dovies, the regard for mundanity and the inconsequential, I just find more inherently romantic. The exploration on time travel and the vivid prose further underscores the depth of PR’s talent. She captures so eloquently, the mind of an extremely logical person in a very illogical experience. I saw myself in Hermione so many times. The story demands to be read again and revels upon doing so. Pacific Rimbaud is such an incredible writer *sobs* all her works are simply a masterpiece.
That said, this beautiful story deserves to be turned into a physical book.
DESIGN PLAN (or lack thereof)
This is my first fanfic project and my third book overall which I must say was quite a leap considering my very little binding experience. I think the demon small niggling part at the back of my head got the best of me and positively thought she could make a relatively fastidious book despite the lack of skill. BUT nothing can stop me when I am overly enthusiastic about something, thus began my 2 month research, soaking up every gobbet of binding info in reach. As far as my book binding journey goes, gathering supplies was the hardest part lol. Bookbinding is not a common hobby in the Philippines so it was tedious to to look for materials and/or to settle on alternatives.
I credit 70% of the 4 month stretch of this project to my indecision. The novelty and sheer excitement with a new hobby, I think, divested me to properly conceptualize heh. I redid my typeset 1 billion times because I kept switching softwares: Word→ Pages→ InDesign. I probably have 8 versions of the typeset that will never see the light of day. Anyway, I did finally get the stuff done. Here’s my little design dump:
Tumblr media
Nothing symbolic about the design really. I just worked around elements I thought were appropriate with the regency era and time traveling aspect: vines/ flowers and the time turner. I tried to reflect PR’s elegant writing in the book so hopefully I did it some justice. I added my fave works for this fic too and even drew fanart myself, here are some of them:
Tumblr media
BINDING
I watched DAS bookbinding religiously during my research phase and I knew then that I wanted to someday follow his in-boards 3-piece bradel tutorial, but it wasn’t supposed to be so early on in my binding journey. One look at this book however threw me off course. It was incredibly ambitious of me, so I guess I deserved all the stress I endured in the process. I was supposed to trim the edges in between glueing the spine and rounding/backing, but I only had my poorly sharpened Php145 wood chisel to finish the task. That and nursing the finger my chisel wounded took enough time for the glue to dry, so I was fiddling with a stiff textblock the entire time after. I learnt along the way that a blow dryer and bone folder will be your best friends (and plenty of patience). I’d also like to apologize to my neighbors if you heard any hammering at 1am 😳
The covers were... finicky. For some reason, midway, I decided to make either covers differently, and all to the good because the one made following DAS’ tutorial ended up slightly warping. DAS’ was with two 1.25mm boards glued together, while my experimental one was with a single 2.5mm board of which I peeled layers off of to reduce its thickness in half as needed.  (see pictures below for reference)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A lot of how the book looks like now is either born out of impulse or a desperate remedy. The book in turn is very gold. Chapter headers were impulsively foiled with gold laser reactive foil (so much for illustrating the headers only to cover them up haha *eye twitches*).
I accidentally stained the edges while smoothing with black sandpaper so I covered the mess with an admix of Sakura acrylic paint in black and Liquitex acrylic ink in iridescent gold (Paint order: 1 layer gold- 2 thin layers black- 3 layers gold).
I am very proud of my sewn endbands as this was my very first attempt at doing a double-core. I used DMC cotton threads in cream (712) and gold (E3821). Below is a close-up because why not. (as you can see, I had some flaking on the paint, luckily this was on the bottom edge so I fixed the issue on the more visible sides.)
Tumblr media
I don’t like the bookcloth selection where I’m from (if there’s anything at all) so I made my own with pastel blue eco-ramie cloth, flour paste, and 80gsm paper. I ordered my fabric online and the shade was too icing-like. It looked tacky so I bleached to lighten. The white cloth also came from the same fabric which I bleached till it paled to white.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Titling was one of my biggest worries because majority of binders I saw were using a cricut to cut HTV. I almost entertained the idea of cutting it manually or even painting or embroidery, but to my luck, I found a local shop that offers vinyl ! cutting !! service !!! I sent them my design and they cut and weeded the vinyl for me. I chose white for the title and metallic gold for the vine detail. I messed up applying the word “historical” though, but let’s pretend i did it on purpose for the vintage feel.
Tumblr media
Four months of faffing later, I have this story in corporeal form! Overall, I’m overjoyed with the outcome and I’d like to thank PR for the opportunity to have such a wonderful story on my shelf (and free to be read by anyone!)
If you made it this far, thanks for reading!

Catra is a Mary Sue.
i can already hear the aggressive clicking of keyboards as fans write an essay on how catra is flawed and therefore not a mary sue. but just stay with me here. here's what TV tropes has to say about this archetype:
“The prototypical Mary Sue is a female character in a fanfic who obviously serves as an idealized version of the author mainly for the purpose of Wish-Fulfillment. She's exotically beautiful, often having an unusual hair or eye color, and has a similarly cool and exotic name. She's exceptionally talented in an implausibly wide variety of areas, and may possess skills that are rare or nonexistent in the canon setting. She also lacks any realistic, or at least story-relevant, character flaws — either that or her "flaws" are obviously meant to be endearing.”
so.. let's run through the list, shall we? the exotically beautiful thing isn't really mentioned much in canon, but it's clear that catra was designed to be seductive and romantically appealing.
Tumblr media
she certainly has her fair share of “unique” features with the heterochromia, the freckles, the fangs, the claws, and her other feline features. this isn't inherently a bad thing. it's okay to want your characters to look cool. besides, some of the other characters also have really defining features (except for adora who, despite being the protagonist, has the blandest character design ever. she doesn't even get a wardrobe change, outside of her new she-ra form. and don't even get me started on bow.)
“she's exceptionally talented in an implausibly wide variety of areas” — this definitely matches up with catra. she is supposedly the "lazy" cadet, the one who only shows up at the end of each training session and doesn't put enough effort into training. now i understand that she may still have had the potential to be a strong fighter, but you really mean to say that a teenager — who is rarely ever shown training or polishing her skills — easily beats up the evil dictator who conquered several regions and likely killed thousands of people?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i get that catra was just exploiting hordak's disability but if it was this easy to defeat hordak, wouldn't someone have done this sooner? even if he is disabled, he had to be intelligent and calculating enough to do what he did so far. but no, that's not the point here. catra didn't defeat hordak because she was somehow stronger or because hordak was weak. she defeated him because the writers wanted her to. she's a girlboss and she doesn't lose to anybody, not even a centuries old tyrant who has presumably conquered half of etheria.
Tumblr media
“she also lacks any realistic, or at least story-relevant, character flaws — either that or her "flaws" are obviously meant to be endearing.”
yeah, you get the point. she's not flawless but most of her flaws are either swept under the rug or shown to be this cute and endearing thing. oh catra is possessive over adora and attacked her for making new friends? she's just so in love with adora. catra tried to commit mass genocide because of spite? she's just heartbroken because adora dumped her. catra constantly touches people without their consent and borderline harrasses them? she's just a cute disaster lesbian.
so there it is. catra is certainly a heavily flawed character but she's a mary sue (or a "jerk sue" as some people call these type of characters) because no matter what she does or who she hurts, she is forgiven and coddled. no one mentions angella's death in s5, not even glimmer who lashed out at adora earlier for the same reason.
all of catra's actions are just vaguely put as "she made some mistakes" or "she hurt people". making mistakes and hurting people can range anywhere from accidentally calling a person stupid to murdering someone's entire family, and spop doesn't mention where catra lies on that scale. because at the end of the day, all that matters is that catra gets a happy ending at the cost of the other characters' development and happiness. basically, a mary sue is like a blackhole. they are the “best” character, according to the author, and all the characters around them have to act horribly out of character so that this character gets all the spotlight.

Spoiler ahead for the CN livestream, so chapter 14 stuff and brief IS5 mention (also anime season 3 confirmed now). Do not keep reading to avoid spoilers. Just some of my early thoughts. Stream of conciousness, not having thought things through much kind of thing. Kind of just rambling. But tl;dr is that I am excited and it looks good to me.
So, they keep using Civilight Etherna to describe "Theresa" and even outright ask "is she really Theresa?" in the live stream, so no its not a full on resurrection... so from a certain point of view, I was right. Her kit seems super good, she a bard also the freebie operator. Since I do not have Skalter this is good news for me. Big buffs, can do true damage... is neat. Logos is... outright busted. His S1 is insanely good AFK skill which can just auto kill weaker enemies who enters his range, not even an attack and his S2 seems fine, his S3 is also insane. Depending on the numbers he might outperform Eyja but we´ll see, that is always the test is it not? Amiya gets to be an incantation medic, with an outright busted talent (passive health regen on skill, off and on skill gives max HP boosts, this applies to all operators for both it seems?) and a pretty good looking S1 (attacks two enemies, bonus damage) and an amazing S2 with a big burst of damage at first, then slow and true damage with targeting two enemies and.... once per mission... again. Its... fine, I´m not salty.... Anyway, the big star, is limited (I had hoped she would be freebie since her original was limited but oh well) Walter.... or, W has now picked a name for herself, we will have to learn the context in chapter 14, Wis´adel (she has a different S but my keyboard lacks it, it is pronouched as a "sh" sound though). Wis´adel is a flinger sniper who makes all other flingers irelevant and is absolutely busted. Because I am a big W fan (depending on the day it is either her or Kal´tsit who is my second favorite operator) and flingers were in a really bad spot I am kind of ok with this but I still prefer they do not just blatantly directly power creep operators or go too far on insane damage numbers. Her damage seems... a bit too high in my opinion, but because I love her as a character and am excited for her story going forward and her kit seems fun, just really overtuned, I will be pulling. And I guess Degenbrecher and Mlynar already brought us up to this insane damage level so I should not be surprised. Power creep is something I have kept up in many many games I play and there are times where a later power crept state was my favorite period of the game so I will not go and get too hung up on the power creep. Also, I was right to take notice of the floating black crown parts I think cause it is even more prominent now. Bunch of story related stuff here but I wanna wait with talking about that until I have sorted my thoughts and maybe even read chapter 14. On that note, story for chapter 14 has me INCREDIBLY hyped. 13 was my favorite chapter, dethroning chapter 8. And I really wanna know what they are cooking next! Also IS5 has a Kal´tsit boss... she wields a sword!!!! (There are some interesting stuff about Kal and weapons that comes up occasionally, this is in the past it seems so maybe we find out what the deal is?)
I do think its a kind of bad decision to make IS5 sarkaz themed though, I like the sarkaz stuff but I feel IS is best used for parts of the world not explored in as much depth elsewhere. (I think it works with IS3 doing something explored a lot elsewhere but I kinda do not want them to keep doing that). But back to positive stuff the character designs are great. Wis´adel design has really grown on me, I think its a huge downgrade from what she wore before but it feels like it fits her so I am fine with that. Amiya has improved her fashion sense, at first I was sad at no more big coat/cape but that turned out to just be cause the blurry art... she went for a long coat instead of big coat that was actually a normal coat but just too big for her. So it still is something actually made to fit her but still retains the big coat look to some extent. Civilight Etherna boobs seem bigger then Theresa´s(?) Is it to contain the myriad souls? Deep lore implications about this at least! Logos uniform is good but like, so are all Rhodes uniforms. I do not feel it is exceptionally good for a Rhodes uniform but it suits him. Oh and also we see Wis´adel studying in one of the PVs, Hoederer must be so proud she is finally taking her education seriously~! Lastly on addressing the name situation... I will keep using W until chapter 14 is out on global to avoid spoiling people, after that I will probably switch to using her new name. Names are a very important thing especially when you pick them yourself.

muffinsposting on main!?!?!?!??
so i'm a pretty longtime fan of the My Little Pony grimdark fanfic 'Muffins' (by an author i will not name for drama-related reasons. you can easily find it if you look it up, but i ask that you please do not discuss any drama related to them on this post), and i really like the character of Minkie Pie. in the story, she's Pinkie Pie's eldest sister, along with Inkie Pie and Blinkie Pie (maud doesn't exist rip maud). Minkie is her long lost sister who was trapped in a cellar since she was a filly and thus never developed a proper childhood. she's a very quiet and creepy mare who has a lot of passion for endgaming other ponies in the most overly violent ways possible. she has a very pretty design and i've always liked how creepy and timid she is.
she's always been a favourite of mine, but because of the fanfic's poor writing and general issues with Minkie's original character, people have been creating rewrites and redesigns and i thought i should make my own as well! i haven't gotten to properly drawing her yet, but here is a rough sketch of my Minkie redesign, 'Moonstone Pie'!!
Tumblr media
this is Moonstone! she's a tall, slim earth pony who is very shy, timid and lacks a lot of crucial social skills. she bears a lot of religious trauma on her shoulders and has issues with properly trusting other ponies, but she's a really sweet pony once she feels like she can trust someone. she's named after a real rock of the same name, similar to how Minkie's birth name is Obsidian. i haven't gotten her special talent and stuff figured out yet since i've been mainly working on her design and backstory, but here she is :) i'm really proud of her and i'm really excited to develop her more as a character!!
her proper appearance is as follows:
Hide: a dark blue-grey sort of colour, with a white fade at her hooves. the sketch doesn't reflect it but Moonstone has peculiar black and white splotches on her fur all down her back that make her look like the night sky.
Mane: a very very dark purple that looks black in the dark. it's very long and straight, with a long fringe covering her left eye. one side of her mane and her tail are tied with thin black ribbons.
Eyes: her eyes are green, but change depending on what point of the story she's in. for example, when she was a child, her eyes were a bright Applejack-green to symbolise her innocence, but after being rescued from the cellar, they are faded and hollow.
Cutie Mark: a black key with a bow in the shape of two wings. this symbolises freedom and being able to unlock herself and fly free from her trauma.
Accessories: black ribbons that are tied to her hair and also hang loosely in it. she also wears a white dress collar.
her rough backstory is under the cut, though i'd like to give a warning that there are (albeit brief) mentions of religious trauma and parental abuse, as well as it being pretty dark. if that makes you uncomfortable, you don't have to read it and you're free to click off and go look at something nice and wholesome!! please take care of yourself :)
i don't have too much of her backstory done yet, so this is mainly a draft, but basically, Moonstone was raised in a cult that's something like The Family International and Jehovah's Witnesses put together. her parents, Cloudy Quartz and Igneous Rock, were very strict with her and would often enact bizarre punishments several incidents related to Moonstone's behaviour occurred, to which her mother, Cloudy Quartz (Pinkie's canonical mother), deemed her a devil and shunned her away into a cellar, where she would spend a majority of her life up until Cloudy "mysteriously disappears" one day.
Moonstone, having been heavily traumatised and weakened from being neglected in the cellar for so many years, is in a state of near-death and delirium. just when it seems like Moonstone is about to kick the bucket, the door opens, and she sees two figures obscured by the sunlight standing at the top of the stairs. she thinks these are angels coming to take her to salvation, but they are actually her sisters Inkie and Blinkie, who just before had literally sent Cloudy plummeting off a cliff until she went splat. Moonstone faints, and after a couple comatose weeks, is introduced into a new "family" run by Pinkie, Inkie, Blinkie and their newest victim recruit, Derpy Hooves. little does Moonstone know, however, is that she has just been dragged into another cult, one that takes ponies and turns them into baked goods in a not-so-cheery way. she basically gets indoctrinated again by ponies who are close to her and manipulate her by giving her a loving family and a stable place to stay. i want to portray Pinkie's baking group as something that's way more sinister than it's portrayed in the original Muffins because i feel like it doesn't address the mental strain it has on the bakers as much as it probably would be. the baker's cult portray themselves as a happy-go-lucky batch of bakers who love each other, but there's really a shitton of distrust and fear between the members of the cult. Moonstone and Derpy later realise this, and agree to escape together as newfound adopted sisters. this is a story about colourful horses by the way- 💀
at the end of the story, her and Derpy end up escaping, and this is when Moonstone finally gets her cutie mark; a key with a pair of wings symbolising her newfound freedom. OG Minkie's cutie mark is a lock, but i didn't really like the message that it represented and felt it didn't make that much sense for Minkie's character, and the concept of a pony getting their cutie mark late is interesting, so Moonstone gets a cutie mark that represents her destiny to finally break free and unlock her true self :)
Tumblr media
and that's pretty much Moonstone's character! i'll probably make a proper colour palette for her in the future and i'll see how her character goes if i develop her further. this post isn't confirmation that i'm definitely doing a Muffins rewrite, but i thought giving a different twist on Minkie's character while trying to stay true to the original would be interesting and fun.
a couple other facts about Moonstone:
the ribbons in her hair change colours based on her state in the story. for example, when she was a little kid, her ribbons were white to symbolise her innocence. she later wears black when Moonstone got dragged into the baking cult to symbolise her further dwindling mental state and the horrible situation she was in, basically symbolising how she became a harbinger of death and agony. and at the end, she wears white again to symbolise her newfound freedom and a hope to regain her innocence and happiness now that she is truly free. they also become more flowy when she's wearing white, rather than the viney swirl down her hair when she wears black.
i was originally gonna have Moonstone's cutie mark be something like a wing in chains or a ball of light breaking through black chains, but they felt a little too on the nose. i do like the light breaking through chains idea though :)
thanks for reading all this way :) as mentioned before, please do not use this post to discuss any drama relating to the original author in the replies or reblogs. please also refrain from mentioning the name of the author as well as i fear it would just stir things up. i don't want my blog to become a place of drama, i just want to share my silly little ideas about creepy girl horse :P

How do I stop feeling jealous and compare myself with anyone who seems to be doing well in life? Why can’t I feel happy for them? I feel so inferior when I see anyone flourishing esp people I personally know. I feel super competitive even if it is not what I truly want. How can I stop feeling jealous, please help me. It’s making me feel miserable 🙏🙏🙏
Hi love! First, I’m sorry that you’re struggling with some insecurity and jealous thoughts now! I want to validate your feelings and let you know you’re not alone. It sounds like you’re dealing with issues related to low self-esteem and need to build up your confidence/sense of self.
Here are my tips on how to build up your self-esteem and confidence, practice self-love, and manage your jealousy/deal with insecurity. Hope this is useful for your journey! xx
HOW TO BUILD SELF-ESTEEM & DESTROY JEALOUSY/INSECURITY
Get out of your scarcity mindset: Jealousy and envy all come from a place of lack. When you feel like you’re in competition with others, you’re essentially saying that there are limited opportunities or spots available in the world for you to claim the same achievement or title. E.g.: If you’re jealous that someone is getting better grades than you, has a lower body weight, has certain clothes, etc., you’re perpetuating the narrative that only a few people can have these accomplishments. This assumption is simply not the case! There’s always room for another high achiever, athlete, creative talent, employment within a certain career/industry, etc. Even if your success and route to success look different than the people you’re currently perceiving to be your competition, their accomplishments don’t take away from your potential in any way. Seek ways to cultivate an abundance mindset (can answer more specific questions on this, if desired, or dedicate another post to this topic, too!). Remember: There are an infinite number of unique opportunities, definitions of success, accomplishment, and fulfillment in this world and within your community/circle of influence.
We’re all the stars of our own movies: By nature, we are all self-focused. The only person you spend your entire life with is yourself. So, by design, we all see every decision or action (whether of our own or that of others), relative to ourselves – either how it affects us or how it stacks up against our own accomplishments or lived experiences. One of the most freeing facts to realize is that we all think this way! The person you feel jealous of is also probably thinking about how they’re doing in life relative to you and others as well. We are all the stars of our own movies – aka our life paths and lived experiences – everyone else is an extra, supporting character at the end of the day. While it’s important to form connections and live with respect and consideration for others, it’s important to focus on how your decisions, actions, and words affect your life trajectory. People don’t think about you nearly as much as they think about themselves. Remind yourself to focus on doing the same.
Stay in your lane: On a similar note, cut out the noise. Decide to focus on what you want out of life instead of thinking about what others are doing. Every second you waste thinking about what someone else is doing, you’re taking time away from working on your goals or doing something you love. The only person who can truly bring you happiness and fulfillment is YOU. Never give this special power away to anyone else!
Cultivate your sense of self: Once you start focusing on yourself, it’s time to find yourself. I’ve linked a few of my previous posts HERE, HERE, and HERE on how to cultivate your sense of self, design your dream girl archetype (ideal self/self-concept) and write out a personal manifesto – essentially a written document affirming all of your unique qualities, strengths, goals, and affirmations.
Design and implement daily confidence-boosting habits & self-love rituals: After you define who you are, your ideal self, and the qualities, character traits, skills, and values that define your current/future identities, you need to implement the right mindset, habits, and rituals to help you transform into the highest version of yourself. Think of habits or rituals as a form of confirmation bias to affirm any new self-perceptions (e.g.:I am worthy, confident, and self-sufficient. I succeed in my career field of choice, hold my own in conversations, and communicate with class and elegance), ways of living (I’m an early riser who knows how to prioritize and focus and get things done, go to the gym 3-4 days a week, etc.). In other words, once you start refining your speech, time blocking tasks, going to the gym, etc., you’re living as the person you want to be, so by the law of assumption, you’re attracting your ideal reality into existence through taking these consistent actions. Here’s a simple strategy to help you discover the most important habits and self-care routines you need to implement into your life:
What are my priorities in every area of my life (school, career, physical/emotional health, self-development, relationships, personal branding, finances, etc.)?
What goals do I consider non-negotiables in my life (short or long term)?
What areas of my life need the most improvement? What story do I tell myself about this situation? What are my current habits/thinking patterns in this area of my life? How can I reframe these thoughts to help myself? Why am I self-sabotaging?
What activities and people make me feel my best? What gives me energy? What helps me to unwind, relax, and destress?
Practice self-respect: While it takes some practice, the best way to unlearn jealousy is to practice self-regard, take care of yourself, and stay unbothered when it comes to the choices of others and their opinions about you. It becomes easier to remain unbothered once you create a life and personhood you love. Once you cultivate your sense of self and practice habits that build your self-love and confidence, you understand why we all need to look out for ourselves and the freedom this personal agency provides. This mindset and way of life also help you better empathize with others and value their need to do the same.
Remember, this process takes time, but the best thing you can do when you feel jealous or insecure is to focus on yourself and the unique qualities you have to offer yourself and the world. This mindset and understanding that there are infinite pathways to success and fulfillment, open your mind to help you get creative and strategize ways to reach your potential or satisfy your desires.
Once you cheer yourself on, you realize the competition is an illusion. The right members of this former club become your allies. Together, you can lift each other up to create an unstoppable support team. Haters only offer white noise or envy that proves you’re doing something right. Only those who take time to think about you privately will share their assumptions about you in public.
Best of luck! You got this xx

Dragonball Z: Abridged Episode 8 Review

Team Four Star finds their groove.

Season 1 of Dragonball Z: Abridged is an incredibly rocky season. Throughout the first few episodes, Team Four Star tries to find themselves as artists and (re)writers, experimenting with different styles of humor, editing, sound design, and pacing all throughout. This, naturally, can be very difficult to watch, almost like attending a student film festival: there’s seeds of talent and skill scattered all throughout, but on the whole it’s kind of a mess, as no one really knows what they’re doing well enough to nurture those seeds properly.
Of course, the thing about student film festivals is that anyone who works hard enough can come back the next year stronger than ever, having learned much and settled into their artistic comfort zone. And in comparison to the first episode of Dragonball Z: Abridged, “Nappa’s Best Day Ever” is like the next year’s entry at a student film festival: it’s better written, better paced, and significantly more comfortable with itself.
“Best Day Ever” covers the fight between the Saiyans and the heroes currently on earth, and it does so by embracing Team Four Star’s greatest strength as comedy writers: rapid fire, joke-based storytelling. They also fully lean into the strength of two fairly risky jokes, trusting themselves to deliver it, and trusting that we will trust them.
The first risky joke is the Krillin Limit Break sequence, and its risk comes from it being referential humor, rather than character based. Unlike most of the referential humor before, however, Team Four Star leans fully into this joke by making it a visual joke as well as a line, trusting that it knows its audience well enough to get a reference to Final Fantasy VII (we are watching an anime abridged series after all). The second risky joke is Nappa’s destruction montage, where he flies around destroying earth’s armies and navies while joyful music matches his own glee. The lack of sound effects unfortunately makes the joke not land as well as it could, but it still stands as a strong sequence overall.
This episode also delivers on the dark foreshadowing of the last. Including Yamcha, three people die in this episode, with Chaotzu sacrificing himself pointlessly and Tien desperately trying and failing to avenge him. It’s pretty dark stuff, and Team Four Star leans into this material as strongly as they do the humor; Krillin and Tien are both played incredibly by Lanipator and Ganxingba respectively, showing the absolute frustration, fear, and desperation they both feel as the result of losing their friends and facing off against these seemingly invincible warriors.

Stray Observations
Mr. Kent: “And there you have it folks: that man is dead. Very, very dead.” Newscaster: “Mr. Kent, if you had to come up with a word for how dead he is, what would it be?” Mr. Kent: “Cadaver-iffic.”
Raditz: “I. Hate. All of you.”
Vegeta: “Hold on, you went to college?” Nappa: “Yep.” Vegeta: “What the hell could someone like you major in?” Nappa: “Child psychology.” Gohan: “Wow, that sounds really interest-“ Nappa: “WITH A MINOR IN PAIN!”
Krillin Owned: Seven.

Hello! If you feel comfortable answering, what steps did you take to become artistically fluent at replicating Tutu's drawing style as well as the show's storyboard design language? Did it involve intensive frame-by-frame analysis and drawing breakdown studies from the original show? Animation is already so incredibly difficult, and to see someone create so much footage with such attention to detail in stylistic choices in both the drawings and the storyboarding is incredible to see.
Hello!
It's guite simple, actually. You just use references and models of the anime, the same way each key animator does. Usually you can tell guite easily when the animator changes in anime episodes, the style and details change but still remain consistent enough (mostly). In Sailor Moon for example you can easily distinguish Itoh's style and more detailed work and there's always those "low budget/badly drawn episodes". All these animators just learn themselves to draw the characters. If you draw the same character 500 times you're bound to become good at it.
Using PT anime as an example is the main thing. When you study it you'll learn the style and storytelling. When you have the pieces you can put them together in many different ways and come up with new ones yourself. You can also find inspiration from other anime, movies and comics.
Animation isn't that much different from any other talent. When you learn music, you start from notes before you're able to play an instrument. When you aspire to become an athlete you start from the basics. When you learn how to sing, write, make crafts, draw it's all the same. But it doesn't suite for everyone. There are certain gualities that make animation seem really difficult (like hard work haha) like learning to draw A LOT, patience and paying attention to details. I've come to see there's a mysterious taboo when it comes to drawing/animating. People often say you're born to be good at it or not. But that's not true, it's an excuse to not learn to draw, which is fine if you're not interested in it. But every artist learn their skill and some find it easier to learn than others. That's why we have artists, athletes, singers, composers and many other, just do what is your own and teach yourself to do it. It's a process. If you have zero interest in something or aren't willing to invest in learning then it may seem impossible. If so, maybe your interest belong somewhere else.
Yes, it involves a lot of studying of frame-to-frame to understand how the animation is built. You can explain all day long how animations are done, but you'll only learn it by doing it. And everyone sucks at first, it's a given. You will become better by working on it and learning more. It is tough and serious work, but also about being mercifull to yourself and your lack of progress. Just try again tomorrow! But if you enjoy it it becomes fun and rewarding :) Thank you for your kind words and I hope this was helpful!

Final Week / Reflection
I always both love and hate reflection weeks. They’re great because I love seeing what everyone else has made, the plethora of talent that comes from every filmic aspect is so fun to watch, and it’s a great place to listen to criticism directed towards other projects which I can adapt towards my future projects. I think this screening was especially great because there was a clear improvement over the screenings from last year. As gross as it may sound to say because being emotive is gross, it was really inspiring to see how everyone has improved and grown over the past year. I think many of the people in that room have great chances of going somewhere in the industry and I’m rooting for all of them.
Alright, onto the criticism surrounding our film!
I hope I didn’t sound defensive surrounding the lecturer’s criticisms because I think everything they had to say was very constructive and so useful going forward. I actually think the lecturers were a bit too nice about my cinematography, I know everyone is their worst critic but I’m not sure if I’m too happy about my shots. I definitely don’t think I utilised the space as best as I could have and I really needed better preparation beforehand to smooth out the shot list a lot more. That’s a common aspect of my personality, lack of sufficient planning!
Last year, I did a bit of cinematography, like in my documentary classes and for the early film narrative class when we were tasked with making a one shot film and also the film recreation. So this is the first time that I’ve done proper cinematography for a narrative project. So while I’m not too happy with the end result on my end, I actually think I’ve developed a lot of confidence in my skills just over this one project. Aside from the lack of preparation, I think I do know where I went wrong on the day of filming and I feel like next time I film something I might actually really enjoy my work.
Also I have no idea what happened with the focus. I didn’t really notice much issue on the day of filming but when we were going through the editing process, there were many good shots that just looked a bit underwhelming because I didn’t notice that they were a bit out of focus, so I’m really kicking myself over that. I think I relied too much on that feature that created green lines around subjects on the camera’s display and I think maybe it’s good to utilise both this feature and also just the regular camera display. That’s something I’m really going to look out for in the future and something I should have fixed on the day.
There was also the criticism surrounding the head space. I think I went a bit mad being like we need a THX shot in there! THX!! In THX they have this awkward shot presentation that usually cuts out the character’s upper portion of their head and in doing so cuts out their headspace. I really tried to replicate this in certain portions of the film. I think in some parts in works really well. I will forever stand by that shot where Joy listens to the tape! That’s my big THX shot! I think in other portions it doesn’t work so well. One criticism I got about it is that it seems unintentional so maybe if I moved the camera more or did something to make it seem intentional then it would have worked better and I think I completely agree. That’s the big risk with having shots like that when you’re still in the process of learning, is that they may end up having the audience think oops camera error there. I think if I had been more selective over when I used these types of shots then they might have worked a lot better.
I don’t want to be a complete negative nancy like I always am so I’m going to say it was very rewarding working with this group. I think everyone pulled out the stops and gave it their all. Aisling’s production design is so so good. It’s a shame we had to cut a lot of the shots that highlighted this but I think it was so necessary for the pacing of the film. It’s great seeing little things like the paintings and the magnets spicing up the background of the shots, helping the world feel believable and lived in. Michael’s sound design was fantastic. I feel bad because I think we put a lot of pressure on him by saying things like, “the sound design will really bring this film together” but he really pulled it off, creating this unnerving atmosphere. Sean’s writing builds this odd but interesting world. I love the way he writes dialogue, that’s definitely his strongest skill when it comes to screenwriting. The dialogue feels natural but at the same time fun and engaging. I think that’s the part of screenwriting he enjoys the most and it really shows.
Oh and I cannot forget to mention Aisling’s fantastic directing! She spent a lot of time blocking the scenes with Joy’s actress which was such an insane help getting us through the shooting days. Those days were a tad bit tense because there was just not enough time to get everything we wanted and I don’t think we would have even gotten the essentials if it weren’t for her.
Ok to end this blog post off, I’m going to try and switch it up by saying something positive about my work and something negative about the other members in my group.
Sean was such a terrible person on set, he played a powerpoint that had a photo of me, edited to seem like a funeral service background with the song Goodbye Stranger playing in the background. I cannot believe the utter unprofessionalism on display.
Jokes aside, a real criticism I would have is I think possibly there was too much in the script. I think during the development process, we started off with a much simpler idea and then we ended up trying to make it more complex like by thinking oh we have to sort of explain why Joy is here and a bit about what’s going on but I think that just ended up leaving creating more unanswered questions about the world. Although, to be fair, I think we all wanted something a bit simpler at the beginning of pre-production, but it’s that underlying thought, will the audience understand if we don’t provide more context. That’s not a dig at Sean, I think he was also feeling the same and the script he wrote is great, I loved it! Note to self, sometimes, stick with your gut instinct….sometimes.
Eghh, ok a positive about my input. I do actually really like some of my shots. I actually quite like how the breakfast and stamping scenes turned out, the simple and monotonous effect that the cinematography has.
I think overall, I’m actually kind of happy with the end result. I think it’s far from perfect, specifically talking about my input har har. But I’m so proud of the other people I worked with and how hard they worked to get the project completed.

/slinks in Hello! I love your art, and I’m dying to hear more about Ire if you have anything you’d like to share! He has such a cool design & premise I just keep thinking about him haha
the character referenced is from this post
hi!! thank you so much! :') i'm so happy you like him, i was reluctant to post anything about him initially but i'm really glad i did— i have an embarrassing amount of thoughts on him, given how briefly he's existed in my mind:
he was the first child of Kycina (Maul's mom in legends, which is my default canon), she had Ire when she was pretty young (maybe 18-20) but although she grew attached to the male child and loved him, she let him be raised by his village. he was cared for communally, as well as by his father for a short period of time.
was really excited when Kycina had Savage, because he finally had a little brother! he was a teenager when Savage was born, but took on the role of Savage's primary caretaker for as long as he was alive and Savage took after him in a lot of ways. he'd often play with the boy and encourage him to come out of his shell with mixed results, but the most relaxed and carefree Savage was, was when he was with Ire.
just like with Savage, the birth of Maul and Feral was a very happy occasion for Ire— he fully expected to raise all three of them with the help of his village and took on a fatherly role for them, however briefly for Maul and Feral. he put everything he had into ensuring life for his little brothers was easy and good (as good as it can be for a nightbrother): he put extra effort into hunting so his brothers could eat well, he played with them and quietly sang them to sleep, he took on more responsibility and always did more for their sake. i think at some point the line between 'older brother' and 'father figure' blurred.
reasonably protective of his brothers, but not overbearing like Savage would grow to be. on some level it was due to his lack of concern for the future, and him being prone to trusting too easily (which i wouldn't say is necessarily him being naive, but more the idea that no one he knows could intentionally mean him and his brothers any harm) as well as his easygoing and carefree attitude.
extremely scary if he thinks you mean his brothers harm, though. the shift in his mood is immediate and on the rare occasion he feels threatened or he loses his patience (almost never, and never with his brothers) you'll absolutely be aware that you've crossed a line. few have ever pushed him past his limits because he's so nice and doesn't get in anyone's way.
was kind of a blueprint for Savage regarding his behavior (Savage remembers Ire best, while Feral could remember just his face or his voice, and Maul probably remembers even less), in the exact opposite way of what you might assume: Ire was carefree, so after his death Savage grew up to be tense and closed off; Ire's protectiveness rubbed off on Savage but it made him overbearing bordering on paranoid— his logic being that if Ire did all these things and still died, Savage would have to double down to make sure Maul and Feral were alive and safe, so he was obsessively watchful over them. (later just Feral, who was all Savage had in the end.)
exceptionally skilled at clothesmaking and weaving, and wood carving (which he taunt to Savage as well, but Savage was less talented in it). his free time, when not occupied with caring for his brothers alongside the frequent visits from Kycina, was spent practicing his skills and making clothes, blankets, tapestries, and toys for his brothers and a few for his mother. he used to make Savage all his toys, which would later pass to Maul briefly, then to Feral after Maul was taken by Sidious; and after Feral grew older they were given to some of the younger boys in the village. Savage kept a few of them as a way to remember Ire. Kycina occasionally wore some of the clothes her eldest son made, but she rarely had the liberty of wearing anything other than nightsister garb — Ire never held it against her, though.
good singing voice, too; but he didn't have a lot of practice with anything other than lullabies and folk songs accompanied by one instrument. he taught a lot of them to Savage, and would sing to Maul and Feral too— Feral might remember his voice and his face, but Maul would probably remember even less.
Ire really, really wanted children of his own one day. he had names picked out and everything; and would've been happy even if he had a daughter who would not be allowed to live with him but would be raised with the nightsisters: Ire's belief was that seeing this hypothetical child just once would've been enough, no matter how much he wanted to raise them.
when he was chosen to take part in the selection, Ire calmed and consolled little Savage, who was too young to understand what the nightsister wanted from Ire and the other nightbrothers but knew it was dangerous. Ire assured his little brother that he'd be fine and promised he'd be back by morning, lightheartedly asking Savage to keep an eye on Maul and Feral until then, who were still babies. Ire was killed during one of the challenges and never made it back home, breaking his promise. it was only when his body was retrieved for the funerary rites that Savage found out what happened and had trouble accepting the reality of his brother's death due to his young age and the traumatic manner of his death. he did insist on helping with preparing for the funeral, though, which wasn't common for a boy so young but Viscus reluctantly allowed it.
Ire was the only brother that Talzin didn't know of. Kycina was shaken by her eldest son's death, and it was the catalyst to giving away Maul to Sidious so he wouldn't have to live in slavery and grow up knowing he could be murdered any day without warning.

OC Smash Or Pass!
@jezifster made this an open tag, so fuck it, let’s do this. Going with Kunio because I know him best (And also because the print version of The Tengu And The Angel is coming out this year! Not sure when. Ebook is available now, with links on my pinned post)
Anyway, here’s Kunio Yoshioka, MC of my novel, The Tengu And The Angel:
Tumblr media
So, a few basic details:
Pronouns: He/him
Orientation: Homoromantic homosexual
Age: 18
Pros:
-He’s a great cook, mostly of Japanese food. He has a folder full of family recipes that he inherited from his grandpa, and while he tends to stick to making Japanese food because he grew up with it, and it’s what he knows best, he’ll gladly experiment with other cultures’ cuisines. He’s also pretty fond of Italian food, and I mean authentic Italian food. If he makes you spaghetti carbonara, he will use eggs, guanciale, pecorino Romano, pepper, and spaghetti. No cream, or onions, or anything that would make it inauthentic
-He is a thoughtful gift-giver. If he knows that you want something, he will 100% get it for you, and he’ll stop at nothing to give you the perfect gift for special occasions
-He’s a skilled ballroom dancer, and he can swing and jive very well. Ever wanted to feel like the main character of a 1920s romance movie? Well, you will when he takes you dancing
-He’s an exceptionally talented sculptor, and he will make a lot of things for you, sometimes for no reason at all. He will make you custom figures of your DND character, or design a dragon keychain catered exactly to your tastes
-Big on pet names, but he will use a unique pet name for you based on whichever fantasy being you remind him of the most. He calls his boyfriend, Nathaniel, an angel, because he’s selfless, kind, and pure of heart
-Are you a hopeless people pleaser who can’t say no to save your life? Not anymore! Kunio will help you stand up for yourself, and he’ll stand up for you if you don’t have the courage to do it yourself
Cons:
-Hates being touched. Don’t so much as attempt to hold his hand without his express consent
-Has extensive trauma and PTSD from his childhood, and though he’ll try to hide it as best he can so as not to worry you, you’ll know all about it anyway. He will likely wake you up, screaming and thrashing about from night terrors, and absolutely do not smoke around him or he will dissociate
-Hope you like bottoming, because Kunio HATES being a bottom. He will never bottom for you, ever
-He has a massive ego to compensate for a complete and utter lack of self worth. He wants to be treated with the highest possible amount of love and affection, but if you show him any genuine affection, he won’t know how to handle it at all. Give him a compliment about anything other than his art or cooking skills, and he will implode
So, what do you think? Smash or pass?

[This is what Hinatsuru looks like, I don't own this]
Tumblr media
[This is how long her hair is, don't own this image either. Ignore the fact the woman is pregnant in this picture]
- She is described by those she meets as "The most beautiful woman to exist". Hinatsuru is seen as a tall, slender, attractive, pale skinned young woman. She has long and beautiful black that ends at her feet and she possess beautiful pale purple eyes. She has a beautiful figure as well (her measurements are Bust 100 cm (42) Waist 64 cm (25) Hips 93 cm (37) Bra Size 42 K Cup). She is quite tall in height, about 5'7.
Tumblr media
[She was often seen wearing something like this. I don't own the picture]
-Now a small dosage of her personality. Hinatsuru is a calm and respectful individual who always wears a small gentle smile at all times. Generally, Hinatsuru has a matching gentle and serene disposition. She is protective of Yoriichi and her family. She is caring and affectionate towards him and shows her true emotions to him. She's quiet and observant, elegant and graceful. However, she does have a much stricter side to her. She is also extremely humble, seeing herself as just another woman and no one special despite her extraordinary abilities. Hinatsuru has the same dream as her deceased twin sister, she wants to live peacefully. Hinatsuru is also very kind. Hinatsuru is kind-hearted and good-natured girl who wants to save and protect whoever she can, even if she dies. She is selfless with a heart of pure gold and kindness. She helps anyone in need no matter who they are or what their status is. She wasn't like the other demons. Hinatsuru is a gentle, wise, and incredibly intelligent individual. She is truly one of a kind. She was not feared, she only expressed the kindness and grace that shined within her.
-Anyways onto her abilities
Overall Abilities: During her time as a Demon Slayer, Hinatsuru was a Butterfly Breathing user that was skilled enough to hold the position of the Butterfly Hashira, a position only reserved for Demon Slayers who have slain one of the Twelve Kizuki or have successfully battled and slain at least 50 demons, further implying her immense skill and natural born talents. Unlike her younger sister, Shinobu, who lacks the strength to cut off a demon's head due to her small body and thus compensated by using a uniquely-designed Nichirin Sword to mix her poisons and created a sword style focusing on stabbing and inflicting multiple wounds in her targets to fatally poison them, Hinatsuru wielded an ordinary-looking blade. A further testament to Hinatsuru's strength is that she was able to battle Upper Rank One, Kokushibo, until sunrise, showing that although she was incapable of defeating him and was fatally injured in the end, she was at least able to battle him to a standstill.
Enhanced Strength: Hinatsuru has incredible arm and leg strength and has demonstrated a great use of it, jumping over the humongous demons, and leaping over buildings effortlessly. Hinatsuru also casually broke ________'s and later shattered both _________'s ribs and sent him flying, all with a single punch. With her katana, she could slice through gigantic boulders and entire trees. While training, Hinatsuru is capable of doing hundreds of push-ups at once along with a plethora of other strength-related exercises (with one hand too). She was shown to carry dozens of large boxes easily and when she was angered, he ripped off an Upper Rank's leg. She's insanely strong.
Enhanced Agility: Hinatsuru is incredibly agile and swift, shown when she maneuvered through a lush forest effortlessly and avoided traps with ease and finesse. She often fights with acrobatic movements to deliver dozens of short thrusts with her katana to inject as much poison as she can into her enemy at once. This also allows her to dodge and evade attacks rather than blocking them. Hinatsuru's agility even surprised Kokushibo who had trouble keeping up with her dexterous movements.
Immense Speed and Reflexes: Hinatsuru possesses superhuman speed and reflexes enabling her to effortlessly evade and out-pace demons, attacking them before they can even register what happened. Hinatsuru is so fast that it often appears as if she teleported. Her inhuman speed even managed to surprised Kokushibo as she out-sped the Upper Rank numerous times during their fight, unleashing dozens of strikes that even Kokushibo couldn't fully block or evade, making him admit that Hinatsuru is the fastest Hashira that he had ever met. Furthermore, she once moved so fast, even while severely injured, that even Kokushibo couldn't register and barely countered. Most impressively, she moved so fast that she sundered a bridge after being severely injured by Kokushibo.
Immense Stamina and Endurance: As a Hashira, Hinatsuru has attained tremendous levels of stamina and endurance due to years of harsh training. This was shown during her fight against Kokushibo where she was able to keep fighting the Upper Rank despite losing a lot of blood, having one of her lungs punctured and being unable to breathe, a feat which made Kokushibo doubt if she was human.
[Fighting style]
Master Swordswoman: As a Hashira, Hinatsuru would be one of the most powerful combatants in the Demon Slayer Corps, which is supported by the fact that she was able to battle with the first strongest Upper Rank for until sunrise, though it was not specified when the fight started.
[Equipment]
Standard Nichirin Katana: Hinatsuru carries around a standard sized and shaped Nichirin katana that is light purple in color. Her katana's handguard seems to be the same as Kanae and Shinobu Kocho's: a four-petaled aqua-colored flower, trimmed with orange. As a Hashira, Hinatsuru's blade should has the words Destroyer of Demons engraved on the side. Her katana broke during her encounter with Upper Rank One, Kokushibo.
[Breathing]
Unlike the other Kocho's, Hinatsuru uses Butterfly breathing and Spider Lily breathing instead of Flower and Insect breathing. [I don't own the breathing]
[Butterfly breathing]
First Form: Morpho Slash (壱いちノ型かた 青あお条すじ斬きり Ichi no kata: Aosujikiri?) - The user slashes horizontally to slash off limbs of the enemy, if mastered well, it can even go for the head directly.
Second Form: Cottage of White (弐にノ型かた 皓しろ零れい細さい Ni no kata: Shiro Reisai?) - The user runs all around the enemy at a very high speed so the opponent can’t see them clearly and then the user slashes off the enemy's part when they see an opening.
Third Form: Monarch Migration (参さんノ型かた 大おお樺かば斑まだら渡わたり San no kata: Ōkabamadara Watari?) - The user runs in a flow like motion and kills anything in it’s path.
Fourth Form: Moon Moths Ray (肆しノ型かた 月がつ蛾がの光こう線せん Shi no kata: Gatsuga no Kōsen?) - The user jumps into the air and comes down in a spiraling motion and slashes the head off.
Fifth Form: Swarm Of the Swallowtail (伍ごノ型かた 揚羽あげは群むれ Go no kata: Agehamure?) - The user calls upon many types of swallowtail butterflies as a diversion then comes out of them and kills the opponent.
Sixth Form: Sonoran Slash (陸ろくノ型かた 挵せせりの突つき Roku no kata: Seseri no Tsuki?) - The user holds their swords over their head with the tip of the blade facing above the head. Then the user brings the blade down in front of them with a fast slashing motion. The slashing motion travels and cuts the first thing it comes into contact with.
Seventh Form: Solar Pollen (漆しちノ型かた 太たい陽よう花か粉ふん Shichi no kata: Taiyōgafun?) - The user plants their sword into the ground, huge flowers a little over the size of a average man appear, then the flowers bloom and pollen and butterfly are released into the air. The user uses this as a distraction then kills the opponent.
Eight Form: Purple Emperor’s Poison (捌はちノ型かた 紫むらさき毒どく Hachi no kata: Murasakizoko?) - This form is considered the most deadly and cruel, it is the only on that uses poison. The user slashes off the head with poison, the poison stops the corpse from burning and also paralysis them, the poison is linked with the sun by an enchantment so if inside the corpse will burn as if it were in the sun but also works outside.
=
[Small facts about her]
-Hinatsuru is an extraordinary talented weaver
-She the twin sister of Kanae Kocho (identical twins) and elder sister to Shinobu and Kanao Kocho. Since she's the identical twin sister of Kanae, they looked the same, acted the same and sounded the same and even being reincarnated she still looks, acts, and sounds like Kanae.
-She has nicknames for people she cares about. Like she calls Yoriichi "my/the sun/sunshine" which is what she called him when they first met since she didn't know his name and he calls her "my little butterfly".
=
[Onto Yoriichi]
Tumblr media
[This is what Yoriichi looks like, I don't own this]
-This is Yoriichi Kamado, eldest son of Tanjuro and Kei Kamado and elder brother of Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado. Yoriichi is a tall man with a lean muscular build, fair skin, maroon eyes, and long spiky hair with red tips that he kept in a ponytail. Yoriichi is mostly expressionless, though sometimes a little solemn and aloof. He has a mark on the right side of his face that he was born with (kinda seen in the photo). He's very tall, about 6'3. He is 20 years old, a year younger than Hinatsuru.
Yoriichi wears a red haori over a very pale orange-colored nagagi kimono with a black umanori-styled hakama, a pair of zōri with red straps and white tabi socks, with a Nichirin Sword carried at the left side of his waist, conventional to most Demon Slayers. He sported hanafuda earrings given to him by his father.
Personality: Yoriichi is cool-headed, stoic, and reserved yet very courageous, determined, and caring. Yoriichi is a calm and respectful individual who wore a solemn and reserved expression at all times, rarely showing outbreaks of emotion. Generally, Yoriichi has a matching low and serene disposition, evident when he killed demons without changing expression or when Muzan was caught off-guard by his immense skill because he appeared unassuming. Because of his gentle disposition and unchanging facial expression, most could not tell what he was feeling: the only person who can read his feelings without difficulty is Hinatsuru.
He is also extremely humble, seeing himself as just another man and no one special despite his extraordinary abilities; an example being the time he performed the Sun Breathing's forms for Hinatsuru at her request and almost seemed embarrassed afterwards. Yoriichi was also noted by his brother to always have had faith in the future and a generation would emerge that would surpass their own and they would bring peace among all.
Despite appearing mostly nonchalant, he experiences emotions like any other person; he grieved the loss of his family and was driven to tears when Hinatsuru told him _____________(you'll know later). Yoriichi is also very kind, shown when he was on the way to sell charcoal and wood, only to stop and help an old man he met along the way reach his dying son. Additionally, despite his own immense skill and strength, he was not above admitting his own weaknesses, acknowledging that even a scratch by Muzan could kill him and experiencing fear for the first time in his life.
As a child, Yoriichi was extremely reserved and quiet, even being believed to be deaf by his family for seven years as he never spoke.
[Abilities]
Overall Abilities: Yoriichi is the strongest Demon Slayer, being born with the Demon Slayer Mark, access to the Transparent World, and Selfless State, as well as possessing a physique polished to the highest caliber and innate swordsmanship talent. Even as a child he was able to knock down men with ease. After training as a Demon Slayer, Yoriichi could defeat multiple demons to where his little brother stated that he as a child couldn't even compare to him as an adult.
He alone among the Demon Slayer Corps was able to corner Muzan Kibutsuji and overpowered him in an instant, having him on the verge of death until he barely managed to escape. Despite having avoided death, Muzan was deeply scarred by that encounter, referring to him as the true "monster" between the two of them.
Demon Slayer Mark: Yoriichi was born with the Demon Slayer Mark possessing the tremendous physical abilities granted by its effects all throughout his lifespan. Unlike all other Marks users in his era, Yoriichi was able to defy fate and live past 25. It is presently unknown why Yoriichi is immune to the Mark's effects, but it's presumably because he was the second person ever to have it and born with it naturally, unlike all other Mark bearers who must train to attain it.
Bright Red Nichirin Sword: Yoriichi is the second person ever to be able to turn his Nichirin Sword into a bright red color as he was born with the mark that presumably gave users the ability to turn their blade bright red as well. When fighting, Yoriichi can turn his black sword bright red at will, letting him hamper the enhanced regeneration of demons, even Muzan's instant regeneration, burning him at a cellular level, leaving scars on his body. It has also been noted by Muzan himself that Yoriichi's bright red blade was far more effective than the first Yoriichi, the strongest demon slayer to ever exist, as Yoriichi could completely negate Muzan's near-absolute regeneration for a short period of time.
Transparent World: Yoriichi has had access to the Transparent World since birth, and could use it with incredible proficiency, evident when he could watch for lung expansions and muscle contractions within a person and surmise when to strike them, even as a child. This ability also granted him an advantage against Muzan, allowing him to find his weaknesses instantly and overwhelm him.
Extrasensory Perception: Outside of the sixth sense granted by the Transparent World which allowed him to see the inner workings of a person, Yoriichi also has extremely honed sensory abilities able to detect things outside the normal range of perception. Like most high-level Demon Slayers, Yoriichi would be able to discern the aura of demons from humans while also be able to tell the strength of his enemies at a glance. Yoriichi was also able to accurately sense the Demon King's aura, which he describes as magma erupting from a volcano.
Genius Intellect: As a child prodigy, Yoriichi is extremely intelligent. Despite not speaking for most of his childhood, his first words were very clear and pronounced. He also displayed maturity beyond his age as he noticed his father's illness and helped him all the way till her death. As another testament to his keen intellect, he could immediately use the Transparent World in combat despite never fighting before, being able to intuitively figure out that the lungs of person will expand before they attack and that he needed to watch their bone movement, muscle contraction and blood flow, which he used to his advantage instantly in the midst of battle.
Even with just the knowledge of how to hold a sword properly and go into a stance, he was able to instantly overpower a trained sword instructor, causing him to go unconscious and inflicting many injuries all over his body. Furthermore, he was able to surmise that Muzan's weaknesses were his 12 organs and created an entirely new technique in that split second to overwhelm him.
Immeasurable Speed & Reflexes: Yoriichi possessed unparalleled levels of speed that surpass all other characters in the series, including that of the Demon King, shown when he was able to dodge every attack that Muzan launched at him and near-fatally injure Muzan with one move, despite the demon's own immeasurable speed and strength. Even when Muzan divided himself into 1,800 flesh pieces to escape, Yoriichi still managed to reduce the number down to 300 in mere seconds.
Immeasurable Stamina & Endurance: Even as a seven-year-old child, Yoriichi could run for a whole day without rest; he even remarked that he didn't feel the least bit enervated. His vitality is also beyond peak-human level, being able to survive without food or water for 10 whole days when he was embracing and watching over the nearly dead Hinatsuru.
Immeasurable Strength: Yoriichi possesses tremendous levels of physical strength possibly beyond that of nearly all other Demon Slayers in existence. As a child, he could knock out a grown man with inclined physical abilities with a wooden blade, even causing extremely severe bruises the size of fists. When he was an adult, he was able to effortlessly slice off the neck of Muzan Kibutsuji, the most fortified body part of the strongest demon in existence.
Selfless State: During their confrontation, Muzan noted that Yoriichi emanated absolutely no sense of drive, hatred, anger, fighting spirit, animosity or even bloodlust despite being in mid-battle against him, rendering it practically impossible for Muzan to detect him, predict his movements or gauge how powerful he was with his senses. This gave Yoriichi an edge in battle against Muzan as he underestimated his strength, a mistake that shook the Demon King to this day.
[Fighting style]
Unparalleled Swordsmanship: Yoriichi is the greatest swordsman to have ever lived. Even as a seven-year-old child with no training, he was capable of easily defeating a trained swordsman the very first time he ever picked up a sword, striking him in multiple areas across his body faster than the eye can process. His swordsmanship easily overwhelmed the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji.
[Equitement]
Standard Nichirin Katana: Yoriichi carries around a standard sized and shaped Nichirin katana that is deep black in color but changes bright red during combat. His katana's hilt is circular shaped with 4 slight indentations, with a black center and a golden border. Yoriichi's katana also has the words Slay (滅めつMetsu?) engraved on the side. Along with his katana, Yoriichi also carries a standard sword sheath that is black in color.
[Breathing style]
Sun Breathing (日ひの呼こ吸きゅう Hi no kokyū?): Created by Yoriichi Tsugikuni as the original Breathing Style which all other subsequent styles would be modeled after and was later replicated by Sumiyoshi Kamado who called it Hinokami Kagura (ヒノカミ神楽かぐら Hinokami Kagura?). Yoriichi Kamado is incredibly proficient in his Sun Breathing, being able to take down demons effortlessly and even overwhelm the Demon King and the strongest Upper Rank. When looking through the memories of his Yoriichi Tsugikuni, Yoriichi Kamado remarked that when Yoriichi Tsugikuni performed the techniques of Sun Breathing, the forms were so strikingly beautiful and breathtaking, he appeared more like a spirit than a man.
Techniques
Dance (円えん舞ぶ Enbu?)[35] - The user performs a singular downwards vertical slash in an arcing motion.
Clear Blue Sky (碧へき羅らの天てん Heki-ra no Ten?)[36] - The user spins and twists their upper body in a circular motion, releasing a 360° slash.
Raging Sun (烈れつ日じつ紅こう鏡きょう Retsujitsu Kōkyō?)[37] - The user unleashes two consecutive horizontal arcing slashes around themselves to strike incoming attacks.
Burning Bones, Summer Sun (灼しゃっ骨こつ炎えん陽よう Shakkotsu En'yō?)[38] - The user performs a singular slash utilizing a spiraling motion which extends in front of themselves to defend from imminent frontal attacks.
Setting Sun Transformation (斜しゃ陽よう転てん身しん Shayō Tenshin?)[39] - The user backflips into the air before performing a singular horizontal slash which aims to decapitate the target.
Solar Heat Haze (飛ひ輪りん陽かげ炎ろう Hirin Kagerō?)[40] - The user rushes forth, now attempting to deliver a strike seemingly enveloped in a heat-haze, masking the true length and location of the blade to deliver an unexpected strike.
Beneficent Radiance (輝き輝き恩おん光こう Kiki Onkō?)[41] - The user spirals into the air whilst performing a swirling slash upwards to strike the target.
Sunflower Thrust (陽よう華か突とつ Yōkatotsu?)[42][43] - The user performs a singular thrust utilizing the tip of their blade to strike the target.
Dragon Sun Halo Head Dance (日にち暈うんの龍りゅう・頭かぶり舞まい Nichiun no Ryū Kaburimai?)[44] - The user assumes a high stance, before unleashing a number of consecutive slashes in a fluid motion in the form of a Japanese dragon made of solar flames. This technique is capable of decapitating multiple targets at once.
Fire Wheel (火か車しゃ Kasha?)[45] - The user flips into the air behind the opponent before unleashing a singular vertical slash in a circular motion to swiftly cut the target in half.
Fake Rainbow (幻げん日にち虹こう Gen'nichi Kō?)[46] - The user performs high-speed twists and rotations, thus creating afterimages used mostly to evade attacks. The afterimages work most effectively on enemies with sharp vision.[46]
Flame Dance (炎えん舞ぶ Enbu?)[47] - A two-combo strike which starts with a vertical slash leading into a horizontal slash right after.
Thirteenth Form (拾じゅう参さんノ型かた Jū San no kata?)[48] - The user continuously performs all twelve forms of Sun Breathing in repetitive succession to increase the accuracy and agility of their movements, and attacks. This form was created solely for the purpose of killing Muzan Kibutsuji, since the repetition of all twelve forms aims to destroy Muzan's twelve vital organs (seven hearts and five brains) that move freely inside his body.

[Some facts about Yoriichi]
-He is the reincarnation of Yoriichi Tsugikuni if you couldn't tell. He believes he was reborn to get a second chance at defeating Muzan Kibutsuji.
-He could tell he felt something towards Hinatsuru the moment he laid eyes on her, later he found out why (which you'll also know later). He refers to her as "My little butterfly"
-He is an excellent cook
-He is pretty much the same person as he was in his previous life, hasn't changed one bit. Well, perhaps he changed some of his actions that he didn't do in the past but is otherwise the same person.
=
Anyways,
-That's it for now, enjoy

How to write a pokemon for Pokemon Unite part 2 - Attackers
Prev: Intro - All-Rounders
In the last post, we talked about what makes an All-Rounder unique in their versatility. This time, we’ll be taking a look at the lethal firepower of Attackers.
Before we begin, there was one little tidbit that I forgot to mention concerning All-Rounders. While it is true that All-Rounders are varied and can excel in 2 or 3 roles, a pokemon can also have no particular talent and be designated as an All-Rounder. For lack of a better term, the pokemon’s lack of talents and skill can be used to justify the All-Rounder trait. Pokemon like Azumarill, Dragonite, and Tyranitar are good examples, as they don’t particular excel at being a Supporter, Defender, Attacker, or Speedster. However, their reliable ability to deal high damage means they can spearhead an attack or defend a score, or make a mad dash for the goal zone, or benefit greatly from the early lead granted by taking the central area. It pays to be moderately average.
And now, let’s take a shot at what Attackers are really all about.
Tumblr media
The gold standard among all Attackers is that they all use ranged basic attacks. It might seem obvious, but certain pokemon are more well suited to the Attacker archetype then it would seem. Take Cinderace for example.
Tumblr media
High Attack and high Speed make the pokemon a shoe-in for the Speedster archetype. If it were any other pokemon, it definitely would be. However, Speedsters are physical based assassins that are extremely dangerous up close, and Cinderace doesn’t like getting Red Carded...often. Because the pokemon is a sports based fighter, shooting projectiles is its main gimmick. Even its signature move, Pyro Ball, is a long reaching hot shot that goes for goal. Cinderace is designated as an Attacker because of its ability to deal high damage from afar, staying out of the enemies range and utilizing moves to keep it that way. While its enemies are playing football, Cinderace is playing soccer, juking and running out of harms way and delivering the game winning score.
Tumblr media
Cramorant is another Attacker that seems to be underestimated due to its stats. It’s all rather average, with not a single stat breaking 100. But while it lacks a signature move, it does have a signature ability, Gulp Missile, which makes up for all of its shortcomings.
Firstly, Gulp Missile gives Cramorant a unique identity in Pokemon Unite as well as in the games. With a funny fish (or yellow mouse) in its mouth, it means that Cramorant cannot lose its boosted basic attack from dawdling for too long and will even eject it at an enemy upon hit. The boosted attack even has the effect of damaging an additional enemy on hit, making its range deceptively large. Gulp Missile is so iconic for Cramorant that it has to use either Surf or Dive, two moves it has to use in order to activate the ability. Even its Unite Move is a super powered version of this ability, having Cramorant dive into its personal pool of proliferous portions and projecting them at its problematic pokemon opponents.
The point is, Cramorant is an Attacker because of its signature ability, a facet of its character. Since it has low stats, it has to rely on conditional boosts to get the most damage out of its skills.
Tumblr media
Duraludon in Pokemon Unite just barely manages to make the role of an Attacker. Its stats lend it to be more on the defensive side, even with a bit of speed to use all of that power. However, it is decidedly an Attacker since, well, its body is shaped like a mighty light cannon. But not for the lack of trying does it make a decent Defender as well. When Duraludon attacks, it makes the visible area its own territory, forcing enemies out and away. This is exemplified by its Dragon Pulse and Flash Cannon skills, two very powerful moves that are too dangerous to be around. Stealth Rock and Dragon Tail are more or less utility attacks than true offense as they are meant to make Duraludon’s offensive presence even greater. Dragon Tail can be used to grant Duraludon some more coverage while Stealth Rock covers the area Duraludon cannot defend.
Something to keep in mind, Duraludon is an Attacker, which means it is on the weak side when receiving damage. It is capable of dealing huge amounts of damage in the area, but it has trouble defending itself. It prefers to defend the area by making it too dangerous to approach, but this is where an enemy Defender would come in and jeopardize that plan. Please do not leave your Attackers to fend for themselves without understanding their plan of attack.
Tumblr media
Our last example is Greninja, a pokemon with high Speed, high Sp.Atk, and high Attack, a perfect pokemon for the Attacker archetype. Where Duraludon utilizes its Attacking stats to play as part-Defender, Greninja uses its speed to play as a part-time Speedster. Double Team and Smokescreen are both moves that grant Greninja some mobility and can even disorient its enemies. Its other moves, Surf and Water Shuriken, add to this as Surf is a dashing attack and Water Shuriken is a projectile attack that Greninja can fire in any direction and maintain its momentum.
But perhaps the most curious part of Greninja’s toolkit would be its physical basic attack. Greninja is an Attacker, so why does it have a physical basic attack? Well, because it’s part Speedster. If an enemy is out of range, Greninja will use a projectile, but if they are close enough, Greninja will use a melee attack.
This is unique in that Greninja is the only melee Attacker in the game out the moment, which emphasizes an important distinction in all archetypes. There is always room for creativity here, and one should not be afraid to challenge conventions.
Now that we have all that said and done, let’s look at some pokemon coming up who are eager to take their own shot at glory in Pokemon Unite.
Tumblr media
With extremely high Sp.Atk, the pokemon is bound to make a splash as an Attacker. However, even though the pokemon has high Sp.Def, its low HP makes it a nonfactor, putting it in the same boat as Duraludon, but a little worse off. As an Attacker, the pokemon needs the support of a reliable teammate to help it stay in the fight, drawing attention away from it. It will be worth it as the pokemon’s High Sp.Atk ensures that even its basic attack deals a massive amount of damage. With the ability to dish out so much damage, the pokemon has to be limited in some aspects, but also capable of building up power for its attacks when it’s time to spill the tea. This is to ensure that the pokemon’s ability to deal damage is dependent on the player’s skill rather than overwhelming power.
Tumblr media
Very low speed means this pokemon will have reduced mobility compared to other attackers, but high stats in all other regards means that the pokemon will be a sure hit among the Attackers. Decent defenses will also mean that the pokemon can safely take a hit or two, making it unsafe to be close to the pokemon. The lack of mobility is off putting, though, so the pokemon makes up for it with a powerful ability that makes it easy to shoot first. It also never misses thanks to a unique Unite Move that ensures that no enemy will escape its poisonous rounds.
Tumblr media
With a stat spread that resembles a stock price chart, this pokemon is a terrifying opponent. Super high Sp.Atk means that this pokemon will hit hard and has the defenses to take a hit and fire back. But it doesn’t use those numbers to trade damage, it uses them to hold the fort down and fire off powerful shots. While it’s similar to Duraludon in that it can hold the area down, this pokemon actually excels at clearing away hordes of enemies thanks to a unique attribute. It’s signature ability allows it to power up its moves even further at the cost of increasing the cooldown of its moves. However, those moves have a side effect of reducing their own cooldowns on hit, meaning that this pokemon excels at dealing powerful pistol potshots at the enemy. Of course, if you miss, you’ll be left wide open, so brush up on your aim if you don’t want to end up crabby.
Tumblr media
On the speedy side of things, this pokemon is a nimble little thing, which is impressive considering its lack of limbs. Or, err, perhaps it has too many? Either way, high Speed and high Sp.Atk shows the great potential it has of being an Attacker, but all of that speed seems like a waste if it weren’t utilized. To that effect, the pokemon will play like a laser beaming drone, dealing damage from afar but not too close where it gets put in danger. By locking on to a target, the pokemon fires a laser beam that damages that enemy. It then has to use its speed to maneuver about, staying out of range while also splitting the damage dealt among all enemies on screen. The pokemon has a versatile range of options it can use to achieve this, ensuring that this pokemon will be the star player of the game.
Tumblr media
And finally, we have a pokemon that loves being able to deal damage, even though it cannot take a hit well at all. Having equally high Attack and Sp.Atk makes this pokemon out to be an all-or-nothing Attacker, which is all well and good, but not as effective without a good enough Speed stat to utilize. Surely, those low defense lend the pokemon to be a decent ranged fighter, right? Well, not quite. This pokemon is a rare physical Attacker, which is counterproductive to its role. How can it possibly be an effective Attacker if it’s vulnerable to getting KO’d so easily? Well, with these low defenses, the pokemon has evolved sneaky ways of getting away with its awful deeds. You’ll find out soon enough, but just know that this creepy pokemon has a trick up its sleeve, some sand in its pockets, and will eventually prove to be a thorn in your side.
-
Being an Attacker is more than just shooting at things until they stop moving. It’s about shooting at things until they stop moving while maintaining a strategic foothold on the map, keeping the offensive momentum up. Attackers are very important in breaking through the enemy’s defenses, because without them, games would be a slow and boring stalemate. As long as you aren’t getting yourself KO’d, you’ll be an asset to your team.
Next time, we’ll look at the powerful Defender archetype, and what it means to sacrifice yourself for the greater good.

Diablo 2 resurrected switch release date

#Diablo 2 resurrected switch release date pro
#Diablo 2 resurrected switch release date Pc
#Diablo 2 resurrected switch release date series
Everything's here for the complete experience, including Paladin, Necromancer and Assassin. Fans may remember only five character classes in the original release, but D2:R includes the Lord of Destruction DLC, which adds two more classes (and the fifth and final act). There is no further customization your character class and the gear you find completely define your stats and which skill trees and abilities are available. That's probably why you're playing Diablo II anyway.Īt the beginning of our adventure, we can choose one of seven character classes. What the plot may lack in excitement, it makes up for with interesting visuals and enemy designs. If you don't, the story can stagnate in the later acts, and if it weren't for the otherwise solid D2 gameplay, I wouldn't have been enticed to see it through to the end. There is quite a bit of lore here, but the way it's told is archaic and easy to ignore. The five acts that comprise the story of D2:R, which takes place in different areas and biomes, each correspond to a story beat about demons bleeding into the real world and how your adventurer unravels the cause of it. I was experiencing most of the game for the first time, and it was all right. I must preface this by saying that I have played the original release but have never completed the story campaign before. The narrative is largely told via cut scenes and minor expository dialog during gameplay. I'm pleased to say that the same is largely true for Diablo II, with some minor caveats.
#Diablo 2 resurrected switch release date Pc
While PC has always been the best place to enjoy the series, 2019's Diablo 3 port on Switch proved that the handheld was fully capable of providing a close enough experience on the go. If your only concern is whether D2:R will fulfill your Diablo nostalgia, you won't be disappointed by this polished reimagining. Polish up the visuals to a degree where they're undoubtedly better across the board but feel oddly familiar if you played the original, all while keeping the original gameplay largely unchanged except for a few quality-of-life improvements. The approach for D2:R is essentially the same.
#Diablo 2 resurrected switch release date pro
We played the Switch port of the demon-slaying action-RPG to see how well the isometric action plays on Nintendo's handheld.ĭiablo II: Resurrected was developed by Vicarious Visions, a studio that has proved its talent with the recent Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 and Crash Bandicoot N. More importantly, Diablo II: Resurrected is one of the few titles that released day and date on the Nintendo Switch alongside all other major platforms. It had to fight the usual server issues at launch, which feels like a depressing routine that all major releases have to go through nowadays. Diablo II: Resurrected is the first major release since then, so there's a lot riding on the title.

Of course, if anything about this changes in the meantime, we will let you know.Blizzard has been going through a bit of a rough patch of its own creation, both in terms of recent game releases and workplace climate. When we take time conversion into account, depending on where you live, this means that the game will become available at 11 am ET, 5 pm CEST, or 4 pm BST. The global release time is going to be at 8 am PDT.

When is The Diablo 2: Resurrected Release Date & Time Now, the release date of this much-anticipated remaster is almost here, and our comprehensive Diablo 2 Resurrected Release Date & Time guide will tell you when you can expect the game to be available. Diablo 2, especially, is considered by many to be the pinnacle of the genre, and it has inspired countless clones and inferior knock-offs during its heyday. It’s no wonder that this is the case, seeing as the Diablo franchise is one of the most iconic action role-playing games ever made. Ever since Diablo 2: Resurrected has been announced, players have been eager to learn the exact date & time when it will finally release.
