“I dunno exactly what kind of escape attempt you were going for, when I can hear exactly where you are, y’know.” Kon alights atop the fencepost next to Tim’s perch. “C’mon. I know you hate being sick, but Ma’s got a nice, hot pot of soup with your name on it waiting.”

Tim doesn’t say anything, just turns his face up into the wind and sniffles. It’s not cute; he sounds like he’s in danger of dry drowning from mucus alone. His nose is red and runny, his cheeks flushed bright with the cold. He’s got a shawl wrapped around himself, but it’s snowing. That’s nothing.

Tutting, Kon shrugs off his own jacket and wraps it around Tim’s shoulders. “Robbie…”

Tim sniffles again and coughs hoarsely, twice. His fever still hasn’t broken, and his eyes are too bright as he drops his head onto Kon’s shoulder. “I wasn’t trying to run off.”

Kon snorts. “I should hope not. Where’d you be running to? The cows?”

Tim doesn’t rise to the bait, doesn’t bicker back with him. He’s just silent for a moment. He sucks in a rattling breath and blows it out, coughing again; the cold air can’t be pleasant on his sore throat. “I just… wanted to watch the snow.”

Softening, Kon wraps himself around him, his TTK enveloping the air around Tim to try and warm him up a little. “You couldn’t do that from the window seat, Robbie?”

Tim shakes his head. “Not like this.”

Kon’s quiet. Tim opens up, sometimes, but never with prodding. Prying is a method of last resort with him, because it takes a metric buttload of effort. The rare moments when Tim chooses to open up, to share tiny things from that steel trap of a head he’s got… Kon cherishes them.

Sure enough, his patience pays off. Tim turns and tucks his cold face into Kon’s neck. He seems to have realized he’s cold; he’s shivering, and Kon pulls him closer.

“My mom,” Tim starts, voice hoarse. A dull ache tolls through Kon’s chest, coupled with breathless warmth, because Tim never talks about his mother. There must be something special about the snowfall. “She was half-Chinese. Did I ever mention that?”

Kon shakes his head, though it’s unnecessary. They both know Tim never has.

“Her mom was from this tiny village just below foothills of the Himalayas, or something. I don’t even…” He breaks off to cough, and Kon winces. “I don’t even know the name. I don’t know my grandmother’s name. My mom, she… she barely told me anything about that side of the family. I don’t think—I don’t think my grandma told her much to begin with. But the one thing I did know… there was this one photo. The single photo I ever saw of my grandmother as a little girl. She was playing in the snow, out on a big field. It looked…”

He trails off, and Kon’s heart tugs in his chest. He knows a thing or two about a heritage forever out of reach, about growing up on the outside and looking in.

“It looked a little like this?” he finishes, gentle as he can, and Tim nods.

“I dunno what even reminded me of it,” Tim mumbles. His energy seems spent after the explanation, and he sighs, sagging against Kon’s chest. Kon can feel his eyelashes brush his neck as he closes his eyes. “But then I wanted to… I dunno. Sit here.”

Kon presses a kiss to the top of his head. He gets it, but Tim’s sick, and it’s cold out. And Ma’s inside, fretting because Tim slipped away the second Kon ran out to the store for her. “I’m gonna pick you up now, ‘kay?”

“Mmhmm.” Tim sniffles again, horrible noise that it is. “Ugh. I sound gross.”

“You do,” Kon agrees, kissing his hair again. “Just hold on to me, sunshine. Soup ‘n’ tea are waiting for you. We’ll get you feeling better in a jiffy.”

“Yeah. Okay.” Tim’s fingers curl into the front of Kon’s sweater, and Kon easily scoops him into his arms. He flies back towards the farmhouse, and the snow falls gently around them.

Tim Drake headcanon

He took a dip in the pit but came back from it stronger. It took a while to overcome the side effects but he redirected it into bankrupting Ra's and weakening his assasin empire.

He lured a couple hundred assassins away from Ra's to keep for himself. The small voice in his head told him he had already took a bunch of Jason's shticks and made them better so why not add another to the list.

He buys a big mansion somewhere in the middle of nowhere and starts his own assassin organisation

He takes the computer specialists and assigns them to scouting targets and draining their bank accounts(to be split among the assassins - tim had enough money).

He organises the rest by their specialities. Whenever he takes a new target he checks out their insurance coverage and replaces it with a really bad one. Then he sends out his groups according to the new insurance plan. For example if there is no dental insurance then the dental group will knock them up real bad. Combined with no money in their bank accounts, painful injuries and hospital bills that are not covered by insurance the targets feel emotionally drained(retribution for whatever they do to others). Then the special attack group ends them when they least expect it very painfully.

All in all he gets around gotham and branches out throughout the entire country.

But in the end he never has blood directly on his hands so he counts it a win.

He is also a shark in the boardroom and definitely uses his skills to his advantage. No-one questions him because they're scared shitless of him. He's practically a legend in the company.

Despite his many lucrative businesses he always makes time for date nights with kon and hangouts with kon, bart & cassie ♡ They all know of his assasin group but dont care since he's happy.

Also he ditches the dumb name and costume. He goes by peregrine and designs an actual costume - spiked leather jacket(inspired by kon), black onepiece(fitted with standard bat procedure) and black greek style circlet with wings(inspired by bart and cassie). He uses his bo staff but attaches retractable blades to make him seem like the bringer of death in a way

tim drake hcs after kon’s death. (pt. 2 of timkon hcs!!)

half of these aren’t hcs actually, they’re my interpretation of how tim felt after kon’s death

(so we all know tim’s great (/s) coping method after kon died right? lets do that with a little spice)

after kon died, tim was completely heartbroken. he wouldn’t let go of kon’s body for a very long time and the other heroes had to pull him away.

he thought about how batman would react. and of course the only reasonable reaction is to hide the pain and find a horrible coping mechanism.

he locked himself in his room until he can go out and look at someone’s face without tearing up again.

from that day onward, he stopped unmasking, to even the closest of people. if he does he won’t be able to hold it in.

every time someone asks him “are you okay, tim?” he says yes

and it breaks his heart a little every time knowing it was a lie.

he would sit by kon’s memorial for hours at a time and talk to him like he’s still alive.

tim sometimes would forget about the fact that kon is no longer here and then call out his name

only to look back and realise that kon was gone, he’s no longer here anymore and he won’t be.

he have done this in front of people a couple of times and he says “sorry it’s a habit.” and they move on

well not before tim mentally slapping himself for slipping up.

batman doesn’t slip up.

he kept up this charade until he couldn’t anymore. he needed something to ground him, to give him hope again.

so tim started a project that cadmas once did; he tried to clone his best friend.

the first few attempts gave him hope, the failure rate going down every time.

of course he kept it a secret from everyone but it only became harder to keep as time went on.

his grief and depression became worse after dozens of failed attempts.

he would have meltdowns in the cave and now he doesn’t have anyone to comfort him.

timeskip to when kon gets revived.

so by this time, tim stopped his cloning attempts and now he lost more people.

but obviously he still hasn’t gotten over kon just yet.

when kon found tim in paris the only thought in tim’s head was:

you’re not real. you’re a hallucination.

because, after multiple tries of cloning him, he can’t just get revived right?

it’s just another hallucination.

and tim still hasn’t moved on.

- When they’re cuddling they always switch so everyone gets a turn in the middle

- Morning kisses but from Kon only cuz he’s the only semi morning person in this relationship

- Kon has to manhandle both of them into sleeping (look Bernard doesn’t have a good sleep schedule I know that bitch is up obsessing over a new conspiracy theory down like a 72 hr rabbit hole and he runs into Tim at like 7-11 bc they both remember yk food helps alive)

- I am a Bernard knows and thinks Tim knows he knows (Tim is clueless)but they’re both pretending overwise for identity reasons truther so I think Bernard noticed Kon & Tims feelings and then preceded to repeatedly drop hints that he knows and is on the same page to Tim, Tim then has some realizations and went to have some conversations

- Look I love Tim flustered but but but Bernard flustered and losing his words in the middle of a ramble and forgetting how to form words and just doing excessive hand gestures bc his bfs decided to kiss his cheeks at the same time is all I can think about rn

- Kon staring adoringly at Tim & Bernard as they both ramble together

- Theirs a lot of sharing/stealing clothes in this relationship

- Kon thinks he’s immune to the flusteredness but Tim&Bernard always say he smells nice/safe when they’re cuddling and about to go to sleep and he always goes bright red

- Kon cleans and organizes around to relax himself but Tim & Bernard are always coming up to him to ask where something is bc they’re a messy organized

- Also i just love that this relationship is two didnt finsh highschool and one you’d expect to drop out but was the only to actually finish

Obsessed with this timkon AU my brain came up with where Kon knows Tim is in love with him because his heartbeat gets all frantic and fluttering when they're alone together, but Kon is still very repressed about not being entirely straight so when Tim do finally confesses he turns him down and says he just wants to be friends. He feels an odd, deep ache inside his heart when Tim's heartbeat skips a beat before slowing down to what he's sure is a heartbreak but, even so, he keeps telling himself he's not like that and moves on. Nothing much change from then on, Kon keeps listening to Tim's erradict heartbeats whenever they're alone or when Kon picks him up to fly to missions and he pretends he doesn't like it.

That is, until Kon is busy doing farm work with Pa Kent and he suddenly hears Tim's heartbeat going crazy and fluttering like it does when he's in love. But that can't be it because Kon isn't next to him right now and suddenly he's both so indignant and scared because who else could be making his robin so flustered–

And that's how Kon realizes he's in love with his best friend. When he listens to his heartbeat and finds it beating for someone else.

If Clark tried to talk to Tim after Kons funeral I think Tim would go off on him. Like seriously, bc Tim was the first person to treat Kon like he treated everyone else on YJ, like everyone on YJ but like Timmy :)

I think that Tim would’ve had to sneak out to go to the funeral, but I headcannon that Bruce didn’t let Tim go cuz secret identity bat bs but then Tim comes to the farm a few days after the wake bc Ma did invite him but he couldn’t stand to go when everyone else was there. He stays there for a night sleeping in Kons bed with Krypto. Clark would’ve confronted him the next morning.

I also headcannon that Tim and the rest of YJ never calls KON, Kon-el bc it means abomination and when he told Tim that he was furious. But the only thing that holds Timmy back from straight up taking Krypto bite to Superman was Conner. They have a silent agreement that Kon won’t go after Batman for how he treated Tim if Tim doesn’t go after Superman for how he treated Kon. But if Clark confronted him after Kon died, the only thing that stops Tim from straight up murderering Superman is resources and timing. So Tim uses the next best thing, his words.

And. they. Hurt.

Tbh it’s kinda stereotypical that a lot of people view Tim as gay and Kon as bi when canon evidence suggests it’s the other way around

Tim has had several relationships with girls that show a lot of love and care even if they don’t work out. But all of Kon’s relationships with girls have been performative in some way (or were like one date with a lesbian)

But since Kon has the super strength people view him as more masculine so they make him bi, and Tim is more academic and has a lithe frame and is often made gay in fics and is given a more feminine role. Tim being a mistreated damsel and Kon being his savior is very common. It’s literally them being assigned top/bottom aka masculine/feminine, it’s just heteronormativity in a different font

YEAAAAAAH ANON GO OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its literally so true ive bitched about this exact thing to my friends before. it's both the homophobia implicit in the idea that a more "traditionally masculine" man (esp one who's not twink-shaped) must be available for m/f ships and cannot possibly be gay, plus the biphobia of the notion that bisexuality is this "half gay, half straight" midpoint default setting for any character who doesn't fit the ~gay archetypes~ or whatever.

like to be clear i have absolutely nothing against bi kon hcs. but i REALLY find the narrative of gay kon compelling (for the same reasons you state!! he has never had a real relationship with a woman) and yet. the one time i made a post about this, SO many people in the notes were like yeah bi kon is good too though. oh yeah you can have this narrative but i like him bi. as if that's a) the default setting and b) the ONLY option, because gay narratives and bi narratives have no distinctions. it was... pretty grating to be honest. it's a shitty way to treat both bisexuality And gayness.

also reminds me of the time someone left hate mail on my fic bc i described kon wearing heels and fishnets lkdjalksjdl like i laugh at it but it was. definitely someone who couldnt handle him being written as an actual queer man lmao. he HAS to be the manly man in the timkon relationship. or whatever.

ANYWAY all this to say, i fully agree with you!!! it's so pervasive and so annoying. also compounded w the number of people in the timkon tags who simply have never touched a kon comic tbh (goes back to bisexuality as being treated as a default not worthy of actual thought or consideration). alas :/
