I was gonna ask you for ☕☕☕ on Kim characterisations but I know that could put you at risk of assassination 💀 so free choice! Any ☕ on anything you need to get off your chest - I love u
😂 it is a choose violence game, let's play with fire 🔥 three Kim characterizations i don't much care for:
writing Kim as really old
like. hmmmm. i feel like a lot of fic out there is just really bad at characterizing young 20 yos, there are a lot of stories that write Kim's vibes like he's 38 yo or something. it's. bizarre. 21/22 yo is still so young. there's still so much uncertainty at that age and so much self-discovery to come. i've complained about this before so i don't want to just rehash that but. yeesh. some people really kinda suck at writing "kid in college" aged characters.
not letting Kim be playful
honestly, this one kinda follows on the previous point? there's a very annoying trend of writing ~older~ characters as only ever very serious. and like, aside from the irritation at the way people are really bad at early 20s vibes, people never outgrow playfulness. in canon, i'm pointing to Porsche trapping Kinn under the sheets and farting or them huffing their morning breaths in each other's faces (i love u canon ❤). but people still do ridiculous shit at 40/50/60/70/80/ALL THE AGES too. 40yo sisters who greet each other by punching the other in the boob. the 60yo neighbor who tells me my shoelaces are untied every time he sees me in sandals. the 50yo uncle who flicks popcorn in the mouths of anyone who falls asleep during movie night. there's no age limit to this sort of thing!
but while some of the ultra seriousness seems to be a weird age thing, it's like people also missed that Kim is playful? he's very intense when he's in mafia business mode and he's a nightmare to the guards (❤), but he plays along with Khun. he teases Chay. he has a good rapport with other university students. he can be more lowkey playful than others, but Kim's not made of stone, he has his fun too.
Wik being a burden on Kim
this one starts running into differences in headcanon-- like personally, i'm looking for fics where Wik is Kim's home. i've cried about this elsewhere so i'll keep it short, but Wik is the life Kim poured blood, sweat, and tears into to build up brick by brick. Wik is the life Kim wants, it's the parts of him he thinks are the best of him. i actually make the MC of the ep4 university one of Kim's best friends (i call him Green), and one of my favorite headcanons i've come up with for them is that everyone thinks Green twists Kim's arm into doing outreach events, but actually Green is Kim's connection to university news because he loves doing them but never knows who to ask. Kim desperately wants to be a source of good inspiration to others and have purpose outside of violence, and Wik is his way of doing that. Wik is not a burden on Kim (in fact, i'd argue Kim all but said he is a burden on Wik, but i digress).
so, that's my personal preference for Kim's relationship with Wik, but obviously not everyone's going to have the same characterization and that's cool. where i start to get annoyed is when people write him as very...hmm. dismissive? of it. or otherwise seems like he doesn't like any aspect of it. i straight up back click on any fic that has Kim fuck up the name of some popular musician. this is not a specific call out, but for example-- i remember reading something where there was this offhand line of Kim being like "and there's a request for a show with some other musician, wangson jack?" and just. no. back click, goodbye, nope. shit like that really starts to bug me. some of it is personal irritation at how awful a lot of english speakers are towards asian artists (which like. random fandom people are not at fault for the crimes of USamerican music reporters. but maybe consider that until people overall are less shitty and dismissive towards them, one off lines referencing real life musicians like this are better off deleted). but over all i just...really, really dislike disrespectful attitudes like that (esp for something related to the arts) and i don't want to read them in my favorite character. Kim is pursuing a career in the music industry for himself--Kim being, u know, Kim, he's going to take it very seriously and with that, also hold a lot of respect towards his fellow musicians generally speaking. at the very least, he's going to be cordial and pleasant with them because no one likes working with an asshole and Kim is trying to keep his mafia bullshit far away from his Wik goals. not everyone's going to have the same characterization headcanons i do for how much i think Kim would pour himself into music and love it, but i really don't vibe with any take where Wik is a burden on or a drag for Kim.
and a bonus ☕ because i luv u too anon: anything where Kim doesn't love his brothers or sees them as actual competition instead of the ones he wants to protect the most. this is not a surprise to anyone here, u all know how much i love brothers, but i've noticed that fandom gets kinda caught up in the chess metaphors sometimes. and to that i say: 1. Terry Pratchett yall: sin is when you treat people like things. 2. Terry Pratchett again: chess is a stupid ass metaphor for real life. 3. kp canon agrees with that. Korn is shit at playing chess. (the fucking. ep1 game. omfg. Chan is all but eating his pieces to let Korn win. i'm still howling over the scholars mate in ep5.) Korn is noticeably shit at all his hobbies that are metaphors for controlling people. which is the point! the boys fail every time they try to play his games, because you cannot play people like you would a game. every triumph is rooted in overturning the game board completely.
[ send a ☕, get a bitchy* fic opinion ]
*personal preference related, we’re not here to be mean

ok ok this is sort of out of the bounds of our rejoicing over the show (show!!!!) but some of the stuff people have been saying really have me thinking. because there is a large sect of this fandom who refuses to accept essek as not just an ally, but a member of the nein. but the thing is that essek is quite literally one of the most important people in the entire campaign. that’s not bias, that’s literal fact. all of the plot that he directly influenced aside, essek’s arc is the entire campaign’s themes and messages condensed to the small scale. c2 is about growing, forgiveness, self-acceptance, atonement, redemption and, i cannot stress this enough, FINDING FAMILY. and essek is a microcosm of these aspects of the story, an intimate look at broad concepts. and he’s so! fucking! important! anyways it just really pisses me off when people refuse to acknowledge his part in the nein and the story when it’s explicitly stated that he’s ONE OF THEM. like when we were getting promo stuff for tm9 reunited there were people on twitter complaining about the possibility of seeing essek because he’s ‘not as important as people make him out to be’ which, no. so if i see any of you bitching about him being in the teaser i’m going to start swinging and i mean it. woah got a little serious there don’t worry i’m still silly and goofy i just had to speak on this. ok bye bye. love you mwah

While I don't super disagree with you, I do have to say the timing is a little funny since zealousfox has recently been exposed of asking for nudes to minors and he's known sontails nsfw fan. While I agree it doesn't make one an pedophile I do have to say why would you like porn of an obvious 8 year old boy? Or ship Chris with an adult character when he's 12, but yeah people that complain about Sonamy are stupid
I don't know. Really, don't ask me. I don't find cub porn attractive in the slightest, far from it. And while I say that most Sonic characters don't have a fixed age and it's really stupid to make a moral discourse out of ships like Sonamy or Knuxouge just based on the cold hard numbers of their former ages, it's undeniable that characters like Tails, Cream and Charmy are designed to be perceived as young kids - Tails might be a genius who flies planes, but he still acts anywhere from 8 to 12 depending on the game. So I understand the visceral repulsion and the question "what is the appeal? What kind of person would like such a thing?".
But by the same logic, I can bring you this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A guy who went on harsh tangents against problematic fictional content ended up sharing NSFW material with real minors :) and he's far from being the only example.
Hell, recently there has been a shitstorm against Reploid REVO, a very important name in the Mega Man fandom, for flirting with minors in his server. He didn't do anything weird in the open. He just talked about the perfectly family-friendly Mega Man. (in fact, I even remember him complaining about Zero/Ciel for being "problematic", but sadly he has protected his tweets so I can't show proof)
And this is the scary part: you cannot assume. I think this is one of the biggest reasons there is this hysteria against problematic ships and whatnot: because clearly, only a dangerous person would like such things, right? And if I can spot them from the content they like, I would never fall prey to them! Instead, I will always trust people who tend towards Pure Content, because this means they are pure of heart uwu (ignore the part where they send graphic death threats to people they don't like: it's justified /s)
And that's just not how it works, sadly. We can't know why someone likes "weird shit". Is it to cope with serious trauma? Is it to safely explore a terrible scenario in a setting where no real person is hurt? Is it to be edgy? Is it because they have genuinely that kind of terrible impulses that they are three days away from enacting IRL? We can't know, and we surely cannot ask because victims shouldn't feel forced to wave a "get out of discourse" card (not that it works, as victims are also chastized for "coping" the wrong way, see above lol).
I know the sweetest people that have all sorts of "nasty" fetishes. They have their own personal reasons to be appealed by certain kinks, and it's not because they're secret pedophiles. I, myself, am starting to understand that I might like certain things because it's my brain's way of elaborating the life I'm living. Brains are weird. It would be very convenient if abusers and criminals announced their ill intentions as easily as having weird porn in their likes, but then abuse wouldn't exist because it would be easily preventable, would it.

Chapter 7 - Side By Side
Tumblr media
AO3 Link
Fandom: Ensemble Stars
Series: Ein schlafender Ritter und die Liebe
Characters: Ritsu Sakuma, Anja-Sophia 'Ann' Wolff (OC), Eli (OC by @watersofcamelot)
Summary: Hearing that a certain someone has caused trouble at school again Ann is on her way to solve this issue… However, she sees that certain someone and Ritsu side by side… And things start to click.
Previous Chapter - Masterlist - Next Chapter
Honestly, being called up was no longer a rarity for Ann. Especially since they were the one in charge, having to ensure that he is going to make it through the year. He? Oh, right, he could be just about anyone in this case. So long story short, there is someone attending Yumenosaki Academy under Ann’s request. Or rather, she had shoved him to the location for one simple reason: Get out there and let your talent be known to the world! Train for the big stage and don’t just sit in the corner out of fear. At least that was Ann’s plan when they had forcefully applied Eli to Yumenosaki without him noticing. And he passed the entrance exam, as expected from their younger brother! Though he wasn’t too pleased at first.
“Seriously Sis? You should’ve told me before pulling such a stunt! I can’t believe you!” He had complained shortly after this was over on the phone yet their only response was the following:
“If I would’ve told you, you would’ve ran off and backed off instantly. I couldn’t risk that. So if asking you won’t work, then giving you no other choice will~”
"Seriously? You’re unbelievable sometimes… Who knew you’d go so far to forge my signature. Aren’t I the criminal when it comes to the two of us? Don’t steal my thunder now.”
“What? Can’t big sis learn from their younger brother sometimes~?” They had laughed it off more than anything.
“Listen, we have clear roles here. I’m the insane war criminal, you’re the one just barely avoiding my jail time. Who’ll bail me out if you end up in a cell?”
“Oh, you’ll  figure it out. You’re a smart boy~”
“Haha…Not funny…”
“Just stating facts Eli.”
"Facts… Right…”
“Hey, I’m being serious here. You’ll manage just fine. At least try it.”
“Uh.. Fine fine. Since you won’t take no for an answer… But it’s just to shut you up, ok?”
Fact of the matter was that Ann just wanted the best for their ‘younger brother’. They wanted him to succeed no matter what and hope that the time spent at Yumenosaki is helpful for Eli. The boy always had some doubts here and there, he needed a little push. So this academy was most likely perfect to give him that push. Learn from professionals and expand, perhaps. Just gain the desire to make something of his dream as a performer, anything really. Some type of realization at the very least. They didn’t want him to sulk constantly and do nothing about it.
Well, that of course came with a downside. Because since Ann was kind of the one in charge here they were assigned to Eli in some indirect way. That meant they had to sort out any kind of trouble he would cook up at school. It was not rare that the boy skipped classes or got into fights. Not just with students, but also with teachers. And not just verbally either, fists are fair game too. He doesn’t hesitate. Violence is the answer to everything for him. Sometimes literally. Oh what they had heard: An outburst during Math class because the teacher kept pestering him. Or a chair breaking from one moment to the next because he was annoyed by one of the students, it just barely managed to not escalate. Who knows what might have happened if Ann didn’t arrive on time. Things could have taken a dark turn. So much for a first year student, to say the least. His reputation was already anything but pleasant.
Today was luckily not the worst type of encounter. In fact, compared to some others it was rather harmless, to say the least… But that is not saying much when it comes to the first year student.
Most he did was of course throw a table from one moment to the next, then run off, right out of the classroom. These cases have become more and more frequent recently, they themselves cannot exactly explain why. Maybe school is stressing him out? He may not have said a thing but it could be a possibility. He was someone who needed the answer literally shoved out of him sometimes, pushed beyond his limits. And if necessary they would do so… If they wouldn’t get distracted that is. The boy loved to be stubborn sometimes.
Either way, they had spent their time walking around school grounds as they had been told that he would be around there somewhere. As long as it was outside of the classroom. Ah,  a great mess. What were they? His guardian? Actually… That may as well be true.
Luckily they knew their way around the school at this point, either having to come over to pick up Eli or being forced to talk to one of the teachers. After all, they were ‘the adult’, they had to keep him in check, despite not being that much older. So the work to handle the first year student was solely up to them as not even the teachers knew how to keep him in check. Not like they were blaming the staff though, Eli can be a handful. Actually, now that they thought about it… Who does it remind them of? Someone, some—
“Huuuh~  You again… And I was just about to sleep…” A familiar soft voice somewhat complained, sounding as if it was at the brink of sleeping. Though it had been denied the slumber altogether at the end of the day.
“I  don’t exactly have x–ray vision, do I?” Another familiar voice asked, not as soft though somewhat. Actually, hearing them side by side made it difficult to make out who is who. Maybe that person was even talking to themselves. “Though it’d be useful… I’d know where to aim where it hurts.”
“Really~? Sounds like fun~”
“Fun? You ain’t scared or something?”
“No, not really. Honestly, if you were to listen to Secchan sometimes, things like these don’t faze you as much.”
“Sewho?”
“Don’t worry about it.” A light chuckle escaped shortly after this sentence. “Oh, I don’t think I've ever seen you around here before, have I? A freshman?” “So what if I am?” One could practically hear the sharp glare thrown in right then and there.
“Oh, you’re one of those. Alright alright, I won’t pry. Anyway… Can I go back to sleep?” The voice sounded unfazed by any of the annoyed tones and responded in a familiar calm manner. A moment of silence kicked in right then and there, a silence Ann could only guess the meaning of as they stepped closer to the source of the voices.
“You’re not going to ask what I’m doing here?” The other male voice suddenly asked, sounding rather suspecting, to say the least.
“Hmm… I don’t have the energy for that~” The other yawned from one moment to the next. “I’m just here to take a nap in the shades~”
“During class time?”
“Hey, you’re here too, aren’t you?”
“Hah, ok. Fine. You’ve got a point there I guess.”
They had stepped to the closest point by then, peeking over to see who was talking to begin with… Yet the moment they did their eyes went wide, just when spotting the two at the same place at the same time. It was as if things suddenly… Clicked. Actually, first things first, it was like they were staring at Ritsu… Just waaay taller. Truth to be told, Eli also had foreign blood, hence why he was probably way taller than most students at Yumenosaki, even the male ones. He sticks out like a sore thumb, no one would even have a chance of missing him. In fact, it would take some real skill to miss a guy that massive! However, if it were not for their massive height difference, one may as well mistake the two for twins. At most Eli’s hair was a little messier than Ritsu’s and their eye colors did not match either, with Eli’s being on the brown end and not on the red end, though they may as well be pretty close in terms of eye color. Honestly, when looking at them it is more of a miracle that those two were not related whatsoever. Because looking at them side by side… They may as well be brothers! However, the shock couldn’t last forever. Ann had to interrupt their conversation in one way or another and thus they decided to just approach the two who had been conversing beneath a pair of trees the entire time. The rustling alone made the two boys turn their heads into the direction, both looking a little surprised, to say the least.
“Sis?”
“Ann–Chan?”
They both spoke out loud at the same time before noticing that each of them had addressed the young person in a rather trustworthy manner, the two looking at one another for a moment and asking: “You know her?” in perfect sync. Seriously, are they secretly twins or something!?  Well, twins with a massive height difference but twins nonetheless… Ann couldn’t help but wonder…
“Is that what you two—” They were about to bring up but then shook their head from one moment to the next. “Nevermind. I came for Eli.” “Me? Sis, that’s the third time this week.” He suddenly complained, almost seeming to pout yet they only responded accordingly: “You think it’s fun to run here from work each time? You could maybe behave.”
“Hmm… How about no?” He shrugged, perhaps just resisting his urge to smirk right at his sister, making them sigh.
“Of course not.”
“Eli? Oh, Maa–Kun mentioned him, the problem student~” Ritsu threw in out of literal nowhere, somewhat light hearted even, as if it was no big deal to begin with. Wait, Isara knows about Eli too? Of course… Looks like Eli made a name for himself already.
“Oh? So you’re saying I’m famous?”
“Something like that~”
“What an honor~”
“Ok ok, please stop joking around…” Ann interrupted the two from one moment to the next. “Either way… Please Eli? There’s a conversation waiting.”
“Ugh, fine… But only because you gotta bail me outta jail again.” The tall male responded, his hands now behind his head, not seeming to care all too much.
“Bail out? Oh, so that’s why you need Ann–Chan. Clever~” Ritsu commented, nodding his head, seeming to be rather amused if anything.
“Oh, Sis is pretty good at that type of stuff. If I ever need someone to cover up for my crimes, I know she’s got my back.” Eli responded, almost proud of each word he was saying.
“I’m not—” Though they just gave up at this point in all honesty. “Can we… Hurry? Work…”
“Alright alright. Have it your way.”
“Oh, Ann–Chan, can you pass my class too?” Ritsu suddenly brought up before the two could leave. They tilted their head, wondering as to why but got their answer soon enough: “Nyeli sneaked into my bag again and the school doesn’t allow cats on campus. Can you take him with you? Thank you~”
They didn’t even respond, it was as if both of them were expecting Ann to do those things. They would in the end but still… Both of them are more alike than one might think. And it would explain… A lot, to say the least.

Imma be honest with you, before BATDR came out, you literally held this fandom together with bandaids and stick glue. 2019-2022 was basically the dry age of Bendy content
haha thanks i tried my best
i Do enjoy being in a fandom, i've always looked up to the danny phantom phandom a lot cause the vibes there are just fantastic, there's a lot of things going on, people have many interactions with each other, so i wanted to try to introduce that to the batim fandom and i'd like to think that i sorta did
i know that it is a popular opinion to not engage with a large portion of the fandom but instead just grab a few friends and sit in a corner with them but like
engaging with a bigger portion of the fandom every now and then can be SO fun and give people an opportunity to meet other people and idk
fandoms are communities of people just united by liking A Thing so it can be challenging to make a space for many people to get along but i dont recall any super serious only fandom related dramas in batim?? weirdos are in every fandom and you just blast their asses into oblivion with a block button
and there have been cases when i felt kinda bad for blocking someone because that meant i'd exclude them from something i wanted to think of as a fandom-wide event for everyone who would obey it's rules but that's where this outlook on curating your experience into a smaller circle is very much the way to go lol
wait what am i talking about
aha yea 2019-2022 everything fucking DIED here but i was having a blast drawing my comic and also a lot of people who were into the sides of batim i was into mainly (the human characters) stayed around more than everyone else and it was really chill, i've met a lot of people and made many friendships :)
as the fandom was getting smaller there was a noticable drop in the amount of notes batim related posts were getting which is a very big symptom of a fandom dying but i think at some point it sorta stabilized who stayed there after batdr was delayed and delayed
i reblog and tag more than an usual tumblr user (when im active cuz sometimes i can not reblog anything for months because im busy lol) and that didnt start without a reason, it sure is a habit now and i really enjoy doing it, letting people know what i think about their stuff and putting nice things on display for others to see
reblogs are not just crucial for singular artists but also for fandoms as a whole, thats how you keep that train rollin
though here is a sad thing that many many artists dont reblog a lot, or reblog to their sideblogs that arent followed by nearly as many people as their main blogs
and thats like understandable, im the weirdo who puts a whole mess of many posts on my main but i think thats also the most effective way to help other people get traction and i never see this mentioned when people complain that tumblr users dont reblog as much stuff as they like
its even kinda funny to me when people complain about their stuff not getting reblogged when they dont reblog others stuff themselves at all xD though there is a bit of cyanide in that thought heheh
on the other hand reblogging doesnt work on stuff that i could see from other people: the stuff i reblog i get from browsing the bendy and the ink machine tag sorted by new + sometimes when i bored i scroll through my dash and reblog some random things but i follow 2k people so i dont really see any individuals art specifically, just a collection of random posts that i am able to scroll through in a few minutes (and every minute theres a bunch of new posts posted/reblogged by those i follow)
and that can take a long time! if ive been busy for months then scrolling through a few months worth of stuff people around the world made for bendy is so bad even on a beefy computer that it just pushes tumblr to its limits and takes HOURS to reblog and tag for me, and then i might even hit the daily post limit and have to continue tomorrow
but i enjoy doing this, bendy is my fixation after all and i fucking love art and what people can create for this thing that i like i soooooo desire to see it all
and i try to reblog as much as possible, though i dont obviously reblog *everything* from the tag, sometimes i just give a like or i just dont like the thing cuz its not in my liking and thats it
but i did make it a thing that during ink demonth i reblog all entries for the event no matter what my opinion of them is just to give some of that Exposure TM because hey maybe some of my followers Will like it
i dont run a super duper popular blog but there is a bunch of yall there and i think me reblogging something in this fandom at least may give a litol boost to the notes on a post
and its always fun to see peoples reactions that dont expect me to reblog from them but then i do and they freak out a little, i think i love it on the same level as getting comments on my own art :) its super wholesome
man by writing this post im procrastinating on something but fdnjkfdfd
but anyway thank you!! and im glad you think so because i did try to accomplish that :D

Fandom song animatic tournament: Bracket 1 Side B
Charlie's Inferno ([blank]'s Inferno) - That Handsome Devil
" 'Excuse me, sir! There must be someone you've confused me for If I could see someone who knew me or someone in uniform I go to church on Sunday Truly, usually more!' Screaming at the angels while they pushed him through the door "
Lemon Boy - Cavetown
"Lemon Boy and me started to get along together I helped him plant his seeds And we'd mow the lawn in bad weather It's actually pretty easy being nice to a bitter boy like him So, I got myself a citrus friend"
Remember that we're voting on how Iconic they are for ANIMATICS, not for the song itself. In order to make things fair, the tone and mood of the song should not affect how iconic it is (for example, a serious song should not be considered more iconic than a joke song just because it's serious)
Propaganda and animatic links of the songs under the cut:
Charlie's Inferno ([blank]'s Inferno) - That Handsome Devil
Propaganda:
No Propaganda Submitted
Animatics with the song:
Smiling Friends
SCU Animatic
Mob Psycho 100 Reigen
HLVRAI Animatic
Deltarune
Lemon Boy - Cavetown
Propaganda:
Most animatics are for ships but the song is not necessarily romantic and I've seen some pretty sweet animatics about friendships, siblings and other platonic relationships
So many genuinely touching animatics for this one but its also a very interpretable song because of how it chooses to use its metaphor so you get a real broad spectrum of animatics for this one. Usually focusing on some sort of odd couple dynamic, aka the singer and the 'lemon boy
It's a classic. For those ships with sunshine x grumpy dynamics, and a dash of angst at the end. *chef's kiss*
Animatics with the song:
Camp Camp Dadvid animatic
Richarlyson and Bobby Animatic
Karmaland Animatic
Homestuck Davekat Animatic
South Park Bunny Animatic
Please be cautious and read the title, description and warning cards on the animatic videos if you decide to watch them. If you've got specific triggers I'd recommend even more caution when watching animatics of fandoms you don't know, since sometimes canon-typical themes don't get warnings.
Please keep in mind that I don't know all the media and fandoms of the animatics provided as examples and I don't have the time (nor the will) to research them all. Don't come into my notes or my ask box complaining about them being included, I will simply block you. If a ship animatic included is about an adult and a minor, do tell me and I'll take it out of the post
ALSO keep in mind that I don't know all the artists submitted; in fact, even if I do know them I do not know absolutely nothing about them as people (I do not have twitter nor tiktok) and I could not POSSIBLY have the time to research ALL of the artists' controversies and what came of them so PLEASE don't flood my inbox with the artists' entire crime list.

summary: after getting your heart broken by the infamous jade leech, your friends try to cheer you up
this is part 2 of this fic!
Platonic! first year gang x reader.
Tumblr media
Grim was the first to notice that something was wrong. Although it wasn't because of your bad mood or of the lack of enthusiasm, his concern was still appreciated. (He only noticed your distress because you didn't pamper him as much as usual, and didn’t get him any fancy tuna) However his concern for your well being didn’t waver. (He claimed his henchman wouldn't be able to serve him properly, but he just doesn't want to admit to caring.
The second one to notice the metaphorical cloud of sadness that kept on following you, was surprisingly enough Deuce. Knowing how clueless he is when it comes to feelings, it comes as a great surprise that he even noticed your lack of enthusiasm. (like somebody deflated your spirit as if it  was a balloon, as he'd later tell you. After Deuce’s realization, Aces followed suit. When your usual reactions to his pranks and teasing were nowhere to be found he started
suspecting that something was off. At first he’d assume you're having a bad day as one might every once in a while. But when nothing changed, he’d realized that something much more serious was going on.
And soon enough followed Jack's, Epel's and unexpectedly enough even Sebek's realization that something had happened to you.
So they all managed to meet after their club activities. (Jack and Sebek would never skip club) in order to figure out what had happened to you. After relying on Epel and Jack (the only ones from the group who had even half of a brain cell and some sort of emotional intelligence)
And struggling to remember anything that recently happened that may be of importance. Soon enough they had realized the cause of your misery. (Ace was complaining about an injury he'd received during basketball club from a certain upperclassman who'd been in a bad mood. Once having spoken of the incident finally making a realization). Their sudden recognition of the problem at hand motivated them to come up with ideas as to how to make you feel better.
And so, a movie night was in order. With Orthos's help, and a quick trip to Sam’s, they were all set.
Knocking on Ramshackle’s door, you opened the door greeting your friends, surprised to see them with arms full of snacks and some sort of portable projector.
You were all stuck at the doorstep, seemingly unable to move. In order to break the slightly awkward tension that was forming, Ace decided to speak “Look, um, well” -he paused,
took a deep breath and continued speaking-  “We know about that whole thing with Jade” “If you just came here to tell me that you were right, that you told me so, that I shouldn't have trusted him, and so on then thank you so much, but it's a bit too late for that don't you think? So if you're only here to criticize me, then you can already leave” you interrupted. “What, no!” multiple voices said at once. “Were actually sorry you had to go through that, you're always kind to everyone and you're a genuinely great person and don't deserve to be treated like that. You always help us whenever were going through stuff, so we decided we'd return the favor” Deuce answered.
“Oh. Thank you guys, I appreciate it" "Don't worry ‘bout it. Now, we have movies and enough snacks that even Grim wouldn't be able to finish all at once.” Knowing the cat-monster meant an outstanding amount of food, and it also meant that he’s just taken Epel's statement as a challenge, although it wasn’t meant as one.
But now there was a feeling of calm surrounding Ramshackle dorm, like a protective blanket of sorts. And your group of friends started bingeing your favourite shows and movies, making comments despite having their mouths stuffed with food. The projector shined against the bare wall of the dorm, the people on the dorm's crappy couch having a surprisingly good view of what was happening as the projector’s reflected lights layed on them too.
Sometimes forgiving the people who wronged you isn't the course of action, but luckly, your friends will always be there for you.

I'm not sure how I feel about more or less telling people of color that they should do the emotional labor of reaching out to fanfic authors privately and hand-holding them through racism (or really, any other oppressive structure) in their fics FIRST, before making a post talking about x harmful thing in the fic. I know your advice was broad, but in the end, I am a reader of color who has more or less been told not to publicly talk about racism in fandom and instead go to the writer directly.
fair enough! i'm assuming that this is in response to this post, as i see she started making the rounds again last night while i was asleep. that post is more aimed at talking about things like people ranking fics or complaining about characterizations they dislike, and to the extent that it does address more serious issues i did, as you mention, intentionally keep it broad just bc i know i'm not going to be able to cover every possible situation in one post. at the end of the day, i am simply one individual sharing my personal takes on fandom etiquette. it's going to be up to you to actually decide what is best for you, personally, when encountering racism (or any other issue) in fics; my intent with that post was not to tell you that you can't or shouldn't speak up publicly about racism.
that being said, the intent of my post was to encourage people to evaluate how they interact with issues in fics in light of treating fandom like a community. most instances of racism (or any other -ism) in fics are not intentional, but rather misinformed; the way we address problems stemming from intent versus misinformation is going to be different. and if the goal is to address racism stemming from misinformation, then the most direct and effective way to do that is going to be going directly to the misinformed person and trying to educate them. that doesn't mean that it is any single person's responsibility to take on the burden of that education--my intent here is not to say anyone has to do this, just that i think this is the best way to address problems in a community for someone who does have the time/energy/etc to address those problems and wants to.
i think it is also important to keep in mind that you may not know the writer's own race or experiences with racism; you may not know what sort of environment they were raised in or what access to education they had; you may not know what position they are writing their story from--and, furthermore, you are not necessarily entitled to any of this personal information about the writer. there will also be times when you might encounter something that you find racist/offensive in some way, which another person from your same community feels differently about. these are all important considerations to take into account before posting publicly and one reason that i say it will probably be more effective to first go directly to the person who wrote the fic--there might be more to the conversation there than you taking on the role of educator + hand-holding someone through the issue, y'know?
bearing all this in mind, if reaching out directly to the writer is still just not a burden that you want to take on, i think that's completely fair. however, my question then would be--is making a public post talking about racism not also a form of emotional labor?
and like, i mean that as a genuine question, because in my own experience any instance of education is going to involve emotional labor to some extent. so if you're making a public post with the goal of educating people about racism in a fic, in what ways does that emotional labor differ from the emotional labor of reaching out directly to the writer? why does one feel easier/more accessible than the other? with a public post, it will essentially reach two types of people:
those who already are on the same page as you and don't need to be educated -- in which case, i understand how this option could be less draining
those who are misinformed/ignorant and do need that educational post, who may then begin to respond/reach out in a variety of ways asking you to do the emotional labor of educating them, as you have now opened that door by publicly situating yourself as a source of education on the topic
like, does that make sense? again, my questions here are genuine, because i know my own experiences w education are not going to map directly onto the experiences of everyone around me. and if the emotional labor of education-via-posting-publicly is something that feels less draining/more accesible than the emotional labor of a private conversation with the fic writer, that's an evaluation that only you can make for yourself; however, i do think it's worth evaluating why one of those feels more accessible.
and if the intent in posting publicly is not to educate and is instead just to vent frustration, and that's the reason that there's less emotional labor involved--then again, it's not really my place to tell you how you can or can't respond to racism in fics. if you want to vent publicly, that's your own decision to make. but i would, again, caution against making any assumptions about personal info that you don't know about a fic writer when venting, and i would caution against attributing intent to misinformation. the difference between someone intentionally being racist in their writing versus someone unintentionally being racist in their writing is that if you are in community with the person who unintentionally fucked up, then there is an opportunity there to directly address the issue by addressing the misinformation/internalized bias that was the root cause. that doesn't mean that you or anyone else has to take that opportunity, but when we are trying to address structral issues in fandom i personally think that direct education is going to be the most effective way. hopefully that makes sense!

Hello there, for the writer ask 🤗 and/or 🧐 please.
From this writer ask meme.
(Research ask answered here. Also this got long as hell, RIP).
What advice would you give to new fanfic writers that are just getting started?
I have never been "good" at fandom in terms of engagement, follower counts, and other metrics, and personally, that's not why I'm here. So this will be about becoming a better writer, so if that's something you're interested in, this is for you.
To start, I think the myth of talent is particularly pervasive in artistic fields, which both makes beginners feel discouraged and can make consumers, for lack of a better word, feel thoughtlessly entitled to our work. It's talent! It's not work, why are you complaining?
Don't fall for that shit. You can become a decent writer with some hard work and effort. That can be a double-edged sword, and on some days, that won't feel true or possible. I won't say I have the answers to how to make it happen. This isn't WikiHow. There's no YouTube video for this.
The only things I'd stipulate are:
Figure out what works for you. If you're following writing blogs or reading books about writing, you can get new ideas, but you'll soon realize some of them are useless. As you write more, you'll come to understand your preferences and tendencies better, and sometimes you'll be tempted to change them to better fit your idea of a "good" or "serious" writer. 97% of the time, you can't. Everybody has a Hemingway phase but nobody but Hemingway was or is Hemingway. You are the artist you are. Take what you need and travel light.
Read widely and write a lot. Reading is necessary to expand your knowledge of what's possible, and writing requires diligence, like any other skill. Even talent needs to be honed on the whetstone of practice. It's the only way anybody got good at anything. There are no shortcuts. Writers are not born, they are made.
I could stop there, really. But I already typed up this whole thing, so a couple more specific tips:
Develop your taste.
If you've started writing, you've already started on the journey of developing a sense of taste, probably because you've spent a lot of time reading. (If you haven't: start there. And read all sorts of things: short stories, long-form journalism, poetry, novels. The only way to develop taste is to see what's out there).
It may seem counterintuitive, but to develop your own voice, I think it's necessary to look to others. When you're reading something that punches you in the gut, maybe makes you feel a little despair that you'll never be this good, read it again and pay attention to your own reactions. When did you feel the punch? Why did you feel it? Isolate those elements and keep them in mind while writing your own stuff. Expanding the vocabulary of your creative voice can mean sitting down with a book or a story and taking literal notes. Leaving comments can be a good exercise, because it makes you look at a story more closely. Also, I think it's important to let people know when they've touched you. After all, isn't that what we're all after? Plus, people love detailed comments. Go out, be the change, etc.
If that all sounds a little bit too much like English class to you…yeah, kind of. I should have opened with the caveat that while of course fic is a hobby and it's just for fun, it's not that important, that's no reason not to take it seriously. I don't mean you should have to get an MFA to write fanfiction, God fucking forbid. And sometimes you just want to read (or write) fic and relax and not think too hard, and that's fine too, have at it. (You're still writing and reading, as verbs). I'm just saying there's also nothing wrong with dedicating time and attention to it, and sometimes, that's going to be hard.
Good. That means it's working.
2. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
Fail. Fail hard, fail often, learn to fail better. They can't all be winners. If you're stuck in a doom spiral, thinking, "this is bad, this is the worst, I don't know how to write—" Okay, fine. Lean in. Make it worse. Make it the worst thing you've ever written. Maybe you just have a little writing indigestion. Just barf some rancid words onto the page. Nobody has to see it. Give yourself the freedom to be as indulgent and terrible as you want; a cringe secret between you and your word processor.
So much of what writers describe as "process" is just getting your inner critic to shut up for long enough to let the writer do the work. Some people write at specific times of day, or they have a specific place they do it. Some people have to pretend nobody will ever see it and don't edit at all. Some people do 87 drafts and wring their brain-hands over single apostrophes. (Freak behavior. Can't relate).*
You'll develop your own way of doing things, and it'll change over time to suit your needs, both external and creative. You'll find your own ways to beat back the shithead little voice that tells you oh, that's too much. Are you sure about that? Wow, bold move. And you'll learn to distinguish it from the genuine subconscious creative voice as it steers you along. But in order to do that, you have to miss a stair once in a while. Crash into the walls. Absolutely eat shit. How else do you learn to avoid that particular step? Go forth and brain yourself on the banister. Have fun out there.
*It is, in fact, freak behavior, and I did this last night.
3. Make what you like. Have fun.
If you haven't called it by now, I am 1000% a pedantic bastard, so it follows that I have a semantic issue with the phrase "write for yourself." It's bandied about so frequently as a kind of indicator of artistic virtue or purity, as though doing something as natural as caring what other people think about work you've posted publicly is some kind of moral failure.
I'm not saying it's wrong. I just refuse to be scolded by a Live, Laugh, Love sign.
Because while there are some things you might banish to the wastes of your hard drive, in the end, fandom is about community. Making art is a public exercise. I'm sure there are people who write and paint and never show anyone, but let's be real. We're here because we love something, we have something to say, and we want to share it with other people. Reaching across the pulses of cyberspace to say, "I, too, would like to see this man get railed this way in particular." The real art is the friends you made along the way, etc.
So I'm in favor of reworking "write for yourself" into something more cognizant of the dynamics at work. For myself, I use the Marie Kondo test (notwithstanding the mistranslation and overuse of this phrase, too): does this spark joy?
Do you get excited when thinking about the project? When you think about upcoming scenes or beats, do they still inspire delight? Even when you're stuck, do you still feel like it's worth working through those things to get to the parts of the story you like?
And this is where the "for yourself" comes in, because I think it's easy to get wrapped up in mandates here. But I have to finish! (Why.) People will be upset if I don't! (Sounds like a them problem). (People love to talk about how fandom is just for fun <3 and then talk shit about abandoned works. Bullshit. Of course, as a reader, you can feel disappointed. But part of being a person is learning to handle your disappointment with grace, so try that before yelling at authors, who are already porcupines of anxiety).
I think the most difficult one to let go of is when people like your story a lot. You're getting a lot of good comments, and in what can be jaggedly lonely world, you feel liked, seen, and appreciated. It's tempting to keep at it, to try keep hitting the dopamine button, even when the writing itself starts to feel shitty and no longer sparks joy.
But returning to taste for a moment: as a reader, can't you tell when the writer is having fun/losing their mind? When they want to be there, doesn't their clear enthusiasm and love for the story shine through, bright enough to reach you, warm you?
Have faith. There will be other stories. You'll have other good ideas. Give it time, work on other stuff and/or replenish your creative well. Maybe you'll rediscover your love for the story, or look back at the draft in a couple months and realize it isn't so bad after all. Part of why I have such a backlog of unpublished work is because sometimes the story, like bread, needs time to prove. And maybe you won't, and that's fine, too. If your readers are reasonable people, they will understand, encourage you to take care of yourself, and patiently await the next one.
If they're not, feel free to send them to me.

was that lee jieun? Oh no no, that was just jang man-wol, a canon character from hotel del luna. they are over one thousand three hundred years old, uses she/her, and are aware that they are not actually from Washington DC. Too bad they can’t stray from this city for long.
how long has your character been here
about a month now.
what is your character’s job
she’s a business woman, a whole girlboss. she owns and runs a rather luxury hotel
where has your character been pulled from in their fandom
uuuh listen i’m rewatching and it’s been a hot minute since i watched the show but sometime before episode 14 so she’s still holding onto her anger and resentment for chang-myung and hasn’t learned the full truth about the events in her life but she knows her tree is changing and she’s bound to move on or disappear soon
has any magic affected your character
nope!
any other info!
okay okay i’m not gonna go into too too much detail despite my desire to summarize the whole show, for the sake of my sanity and not giving too many spoilers
how close can you be to being a malevolent spirit without actually being one? man wol is here to walk that line
back home she runs the hotel del luna, which is a hotel for those who have died, to settle the last things in their life before they move on.
she’s been the owner of the hotel for a very very long time, in which she believes is a punishment for what she did in her living life, but is most likely just her stubborn resentment keeping her rooted there.
technically, she believes she cant’ physically harm humans or she’ll be destroyed, though she’ll realize that doesn’t apply here eventually
pretty strong even without hurting people anyway considering she’s basically unkillable, can see ghosts, kinda teleport, and cause hallucinations. i would not recommend starting shit with her
loves money and stuff and going out for meals. she’s bad at managing money and doesn’t care. she’s also just kinda obnoxious in general
she cares though and it’s plenty obvious if you’ve known her for more than like a minute she can wind up protective fast, and almost always winds up helping people even if she’ll complain about it to no end
plots:
employees: anyone who works at her hotel
shopping/foodie friends: she’s bad at making friends but man wol does like dragging people along for her interests so anyone who likes going to restaurants or shopping who she’ll bring along with her
enemy: doesn’t have to be anything serious but like i said she’s obnoxious so could be anyone she generally doesn’t get along with
any sort of supernatural friends: like i said this is a real old ghost so she tends to get along better with people who understand that somewhat
good influence: she can be nicer if there’s as someone genuine and kind around her
bad influence: someone who makes her worse? someone she makes worse? both just happening in a little circle?

Hang on I need to make a passive aggressive post about someone in another fandom saying TikTok (puke) is a more accessible platform for spreading fandom gospel compared to Tumblr (puke but affectionately) because it's just the land of walls of text. Well I LIKE writing longform walls of text and when I was forced to watch a TikTok I think I could physically feel my attention span warping.
Excepting a serious discussion about ability (that goes without saying) I think the aversion to longform content is a shame. Like to me if I'm obsessed or interested in a ship I want to read twenty thousand essays about it. But I guess that's the trend of the Internet now
Inevitably somebody is going to think I'm some sort of pretentious monster for decrying shortform content. Well,
Tumblr media
But I think also at the heart of this is my annoyance at the trend of complaining about 'I buy books but I don't reeaaaaad any' and tons of posts with this air of anxiety of like how do I read books?? What's the magic cure?? There's like this disconnect between people who are used to shortform content upset at being unable to read longform content. And it's extremely weird because you genuinely shouldn't be beating yourself up this way and treating your body like it's some nonfunctioning mechanical tool, your body is you and you need to be gentle and figure out what it is the things that you want to do. That's probably your best starting point.
The starting point in those conversations is always like, put your phone away and never go online again. I don't personally find an absolutist approach helpful. You can actually go online you should just think about why you're online and what ideas you like sharing or exploring and when you might want to relax away from that. I don't think the phones are inherently the problem (you can read longform content on phones) but the way you respond to and create information is the bit that does.
It's like when I come across snippets of poetry on my dashboard, I often try to find the original source and read the poem in full. That in itself is a task which exercises grounding ideas in context (the social media age leads to a lot of information being groundless and ephemeral) but it's also something which makes me feel like I'm not mindlessly spending my time on the Internet. That's why I think it's important to distinguish what you use the Internet for.
To a degree I think this is even true of for instance writing a post like this. As self-conscious as I am about annoying people, wasting their time, writing something pretentious, being a waste of space, being a failure etc., I do find elaborating on my thoughts in a longform post which sometimes can hit a wordcount in the region of essays I'd write for uni a lot of fun and a great mental exercise. I don't consider this sort of task the same as, say, using Twitter like I'd used to, which stymied most of my thoughts. I do really miss the people I followed there but it was giving me a lot of anxiety using it, annoying people, but you know, what can you do.
But yeah I was annoyed about the idea that Tumblr is less accessible because it's wall-of-texty - so ironic because Tumblr is known for microblogging - when I don't think inclination to shortform content is necessarily the norm or something innate. Obviously I do think there are exceptional circumstances which apply, e.g. if you prefer someone's actual speech as opposed to text-to-speech which can be a bit impersonal, like my friend prefers me reading poetry for him as opposed to getting the bot to do it, and I would like to think that in reading this post this kind of caveat is self-evident.
That is to say, I think longform content is something you can easily get used to again. I had a period where I struggled with reading books a couple of years ago and I was really angry at myself because I used to read all the time, and then I had to actually learn to stop being angry at myself and seeing myself as a tool and instead as like, a person who was trying to do the things I enjoy and search for meaning. You're not a bad tool or a bad person for not being able to read, and sure maybe you might have deeper problems you need to look into (I'm not saying that either), but I still don't think you should view yourself as a tool that's broken. Although there's a cynic in me that views shortform content and broken attention spans as part of a greater ploy to keep you quiet and docile politically.
And yeah maybe I have come around to being a Tumblr apologist because every other website sucks and I'm a nerd who grew up with the Internet. My favourite thing after school was checking Sims forums. I can't say much has changed.
But finally, in terms of fandom itself, fandom shouldn't be a top-down hierarchy. There shouldn't be some TikTok that everybody watches to receive the fandom gospel. Part of the fun of fandom is thinking about things and sharing those things with other people, it's literally community and creativity. That's my ideal anyway.

Munay Meme (out of Munday)
🍎 - If you had to chose a new faceclaim for your muse, who would you pick?
Tumblr media
Rose from Tales of Zestiria! Look-wise, she has a good Mariko-like vibe!
🍋 - Does your muse complain about things to you? If so, what?
Tumblr media
Joke-wise? Yes, she wants me to let her be a super-awesome, full-blooded, Time-Hero Saiyan. She doesn't get that self acceptance is important and she has to earn it with hard work first!
Tumblr media
"BUT YOU'RE MY CREATOR, DAMNIT, SPEED IT UP!"
No.
In a more serious manner, sometimes I can feel Mariko "craving" for a connection with a character I am writing her with. It doesn't need to be romantic, but when the thread is engaging and the writing is good, it's really hard to not feel a sort of "call", and sometimes imagination runs in my head ahead of the thread unfolding on its own. I never let it overtake the writing, if anything I share my ideas with the other mun or ignore it and just sit and see what happens. But Mariko is a passionate, emotional, sensitive character, she literally can't be written as impartial or indifferent if all the elements listed above are happening.
🍌 - What drew you into the fandom in the first place?
Piccolo
Tumblr media
No, okay, I had a massive crush on him as a kid when I started watching the show, but I started watching it ever since it first aired in my country, so I just... Followed it and liked it!
Later on however, it was thanks to my friend @icecreamhotelpatrol with whom I shared a few other interests with. She got Xenoverse way before I did, I drew her character as a gift and she talked me more about the videogame. It sounded fun, I did like Dragon Ball after all, so I decided to spoil myself and get it, and that's how I re-discovered my passion for it. I first wrote Mariko as a DBX1 Time Hero in a fanfiction with her, and boy am I fond of that, I think it really helped me developing my writing style. Plus, I literally loved the story and the characters in it. Then she mentioned the DB roleplaying community, specifically @nappainanotherdimension blog, and that was what inspired me to try to join it. However, the old Mariko couldn't work in this setting, she was too deply rooted in her story and I was kinda jealous/protective of her original version as it really meant a lot to me, it felt too personal. So I was like "what if Mariko wasn't a Hero, but a Hero-wannabe? What if she didn't fear her Saiyan side, but craved for it?". And since I got DBX2 by then, I thought about making her a Patroller rookie and that's how I ended up here!

Title: If One Wasn't Enough Already… Chapter 7.
Fandom: King of Fighters
Pairing: Iori Yagami x Kyo Kusanagi
Characters: Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, Shingo Yabuki, Chizuru Kagura
Status: Completed (10 chapters) Summary: [The remake of 2 Kyos - 1 Yagami] [This story is set in between KOF96 and KOF97]
When everything seem to back to normal, Kyo has no idea about the new opponent lurking just around the corner, who might be a more intimidating and fearsome, than other foes. Who is this youngman? How did he got there? What kind of business he has with Iori? Read and find out.
AO3 Link
Some time passed. Finally, Yagami and the Kusanagi twins arrive at their destination place. Even if it was a quick trip, it was far from pleasant and peaceful for anyone.
The redhead had to persuade Kyos to sit together in the back seat because it was the only way to avoid the dramatic scenes and ruckus. Although, he could still feel the tension between these siblings because they could start a fight at any moment.
Fortunately, the Kusanagis have caused no problems aside from sitting as far as possible and ignoring each other. In the end, Iori hopes that this is the last day when he needs to deal with the two annoying, immature brats.
_______________________
After reaching the door of Kagura’s apartment, the redhead presses the doorbell. Soon enough, a familiar voice asks through the speaker ‘‘Who’s there?’’.
‘‘Just open the door, Kagura. There is something important I need to ask you. Or even better, see it by yourself.’’ Yagami replies in a slightly annoyed tone.
A couple of seconds pass. After the sound of an unlocked lock, this person opens the door.
As soon as the ebony-haired woman notices the third person next to Kyo and Iori, she raises an eyebrow ‘‘It’s unusual for you to show up together with the Kusanagi like this. And who is this person? Is this a new relative of the Kusanagi clan that I’m not aware of?’’.
However, the older Kyo indignantly responds ‘‘Oi, that’s rather a stupid ques- !’’.
Unfortunately, Yagami instantly shuts him up by covering his mouth and answering Chizuru ‘‘So we came for your advice. Maybe you would know anything about this.’’. In the end, she lets them inside.
After Kagura invites her guests to the living room, they sit on the couch.
When Iori sits in the middle of the couch, the twins join him and surround him. While Chizuru sits in front of them, she asks in a serious tone ‘‘I don’t understand. Is this some sort of joke? Who is this Kusanagi twin?’’.
Yet, the younger Kyo, who sits on the left side, defends himself ‘‘It’s not my fault that this freak showed up from nowhere and attacked me! Hell, he could also use the same flame as me.’’.
The older Kusanagi tries his best not to lose his temper and resist the temptation to roast his look-alike. After he rolls his eyes and takes a deep breath, he resentfully comments ‘‘I understand Yagami might be too dumb to realize that this thing is only a mere clone. But you… I thought you were smarter than that. Can you explain to that moron that this creature somehow survived the NESTS experiment? Maybe only then his stubborn ass will do something.’’
Just as the younger brunette is about to get up and open his mouth, he gets stopped by the redhead’s palm and his command ‘‘Sit! Just what you were thinking?’’.
Meanwhile, Chizuru is more and more confused.
As Iori facepalms, he complains ‘‘And this is what I had to deal with since yesterday. First, one idiot shows up and acts like an arrogant child. Then, another one storm in and throws a tantrum.’’.
After a moment, the ebony-haired woman comments ‘‘Perhaps, it’s the consequence of the Orochi’s broken seal…’’.
Suddenly, the older Kusanagi slams his palms against the coffee table ‘‘What!? Again? Ugh… Haven’t we beat his ass last year? For god’s sake, I thought these Hakkesshus were all fucking dead!… Okay, who is behind this time? Who the fuck is asking for trouble? Shit… I just escaped the living hell, and wiped out an entire herd of ugly clones and NESTS just for this!? For the love of the, give me a rest!’’.
As the Kusanagi widens his eyes and roughly breathes, everyone remains silent in the room.
In the end, Yagami covers his face and shakes his head while asking in a disappointed tone ‘‘What are you talking about? Did you hit your head somewhere?’’.
Of course, the redhead’s reply shocks the older Kyo, and he feels betrayed by these words alone.
‘Either he is doing this purposely, or he forgot what happened to them. Once this is over, that stupid Yagami will get what he deserves for acting like an ignorant fool.’ Or so, the brunette thinks to himself as he shakily clenches his palms into fists and cracks a nervous smile.
Meanwhile, the younger Kusanagi slightly moves away to the end of the couch as he questions life choices.
‘What is his problem? Why does he have to act like a victim and make such a scene?’ He wonders about his twin.
Suddenly, the older Kyo turns to Iori’s side and replies in a mocking voice ‘‘Well, excuse me if you were blown away and hit your empty head during the sealing process. Maybe thanks to that, you lost all your remaining brain cells, you fucking moron! Oh, or perhaps, when you got electrocuted also did a good job on you, and you lost all your memory?’’.
That’s it! It is the last drop of the redhead’s patience. He cannot allow being insulted by some Kusanagi brat. Unfortunately, he can’t finish him up at the same spot because of their current place and time. For now, Yagami growls at Kyo, who cracks his knuckles and is about to fight back.
Just before this escalated into a conflict, the shrine maiden quickly responds. After she stands up, she scolds these idiots ‘‘It’s not the time for the fight! You should save your strength before the incoming battle against the legendary demon. After all, the world’s fate depends on us, and we cannot fail. If I see even the tiniest argument between you two, I’ll lock you together in the same room until you get along.’’.
Fortunately, it got the attention of the Kusanagi twins and Iori, who only silently stared at Chizuru. For sure, this punishment sounds even worse than any imaginable torture. Besides, the redhead and the twins know it was wiser not to test this woman’s patience or else no god or devil will save them.
After she puts them into their place, Kyos politely apologized while Yagami indignantly turns away.
When Kagura sits, she calmly explains ‘‘Anyway, Yata mirror will show whether one of the Kusanagi could be the Hakkesshu clan’s secret servant or not.’’.
As she notices that the younger Kyo is stressed and confused, she comforts him ‘‘Yata mirror never lies and only shows the truth. So, don’t have to worry if you are Kusanagi.’’.
Suddenly, she makes big innocent eyes and asks the redhead ‘‘By the way, Yagami, you haven’t arrived on foot? Or have you? You see, my motorcycle is broken, and I left the Yata mirror in the shrine. So, could you drop us there?’’.
While she holds her palms together and closes her eyes, she patiently waits for the answer.
In the end, Iori realizes he has to play along if he wants to get rid of Kyos and never see them again. After he rolls his eyes, he sighs ‘‘Fine… If that means I don’t need to deal with you anymore.’’.
Lastly, Kagura delightfully replies ‘‘Great! It seems that you finally took this seriously.’’.
‘‘Whatever.’’ Iori silently murmurs under his nose.
More importantly, during this trip, there will be another adult person to monitor these twins. Or so, the redhead comforts himself.

After a while, the Four Sacred Treasures arrive at Kagura’s shrine, and Chizuru tells Iori and the twins to wait outside. So that no one would disturb her while she contacts the spirits of the Yata mirror. And thus, the trio would need to survive without killing each other until Kagura is done.
Some time passes, and the ebony-haired woman finishes preparing for the ritual. The darkness fills the room. Yet, as she casts the enchanting spell, the platinum light radiates from the sacred relic.
As the vague image in the Yata mirror becomes clear, it shows all the wanted answers to this woman. Lastly, Chizuru widens her eyes and remarks in a shaky voice ‘‘It cannot be… Then, it means…’’.
Suddenly, the wind rustles the tree leaves around the shrine, and several crows fly away.
Meanwhile, the redhead is bored, and Kyos nearly falls asleep as they bathe in the warm sunbeams.
Yet, the slamming door interrupts the peaceful moment. After Kagura appears, she speaks up in a serious tone ‘‘I need you to gather inside the shrine.’’. For sure, whatever she saw in the mirror isn’t promising.
When everyone is inside, Iori sits on his knees and in the center of the Kusanagis. While Chizuru is in front of the trio, she announces ‘‘I’ve contacted the spirits of the Yata mirror, and it shows that both of the Kusanagis are the same person.’’.
As the redhead nervously cracks a smile, he shakes his head. ‘‘You must be joking, right? Are you sure that your mirror has made no mistakes?’’ Yagami asks in disbelief.
Yet, Chizuru keeps a serious look and replies ‘‘You should never doubt the Yata mirror.’’. When she stares at the brunette from Iori’s left side, she comments ‘‘This Kusanagi is the one we know, and he belongs to our world.’’.
After the shrine maiden looks at the Kyo from the redhead’s right, she continues ‘‘And this one is from a near future. Because of the strong force interfacing, he is stuck here. This Kusanagi must return to his timeline before another great disaster occurs.’’.
Meanwhile, the older Kyo refuses to believe what Kagura said. Firstly, he encountered his look-alike. Then, he gets treated like an alien. On the other hand, if this woman is right, it makes sense why no one believes him.
Suddenly, he gets returned to his senses by Chizuru’s questions ‘‘When did you arrive in this world? Whom else have you met?’’.
While the older brunette rubs his nape, he answers in an unsure voice ‘‘What are you talking about? I’ve always been there. Maybe your mirror got broken after Orochi’s sealing. That’s why it might only have the memory of me in the past. Therefore, it mistakes that cheap clone with me.’’.
Kagura only closes her eyes and exhales. After opening her eyes, she patiently explains ‘‘Kusanagi, do you know what year is now? It’s only the ‘97, and Orochi hasn’t been resurrected yet. You defeated it in your timeline, but not here. I saw what happened to you afterward - your disappearance and what you went through. However, none of this happened in our world.’’.
The more Yagami listens to this conversation, the more he is anxious. It’s already annoying to deal with one pesky Kusanagi’s heir. Unfortunately for him, thanks to an unexpected wanderer, his problems only double.
Lastly, Iori asks Chizuru in a demanding tone ‘‘What should we do about these two? If anyone sees them together, it will only cause trouble and unnecessary noise. There is no way that I let them live in my apartment any longer.’’.
Such questions only make the ebony-haired woman smile ‘‘Oh, but you don’t need to do this. Although, that was kind of you. The original Kusanagi can return to his home. On the other hand, the Kusanagi from the future has nowhere to stay, has he? So, could you let him stay for a bit longer at your place? Or at least until I’ll figure out what we can do to help him to return home.’’.
‘Oh no… Not again. Why do I have to be surrounded by the bunch of fools who keep using big eyes and get away with it?’ Iori murmurs as he accepts to carry his cross and take care of Kyo.
Meanwhile, the older Kusanagi teases Iori in a cheerful tone ‘‘Oi, Yagami. You don’t need to be so salty.’’ and keeps his smug face ‘‘It’s nothing that I’m going to eat you. Besides, that little bastard will be gone.’’.
As the younger brunette observes this scene, he stares at Kagura and addresses her while pointing at his look-alike ‘‘And you wanna say that this cocky bastard is me?! You gotta be kidding me. No way in hell that he is me! Nor did I let that crazy pyromaniac anywhere close to Yagami. That dangerous prick can snap his neck during his sleep! Hell, I don’t wanna that Yagami’s stupid ghost will haunt me! ‘Cos he will never leave me at peace.’’.
While the younger Kyo aggressively stares at his replica, the older one reflects that gaze and swooshes his hair.
The Kusanagi from the right side addresses Chizuru ‘‘That’s right! This lousy brat is not me. Even Shingo can make better flames than him. More so, he lacks my charms and skills and nowhere near has the grain of my power!’’.
For sure, such an insult shocks Kyo from the left. After standing up, the brunette’s eyes burn with pure rage for his opponent while he cracks his knuckles ‘‘You’ve gone too far, pal! Don’t tell me I haven’t warned you.’’.
When his look-alike stands up and thrusts his chest forward, he gives a mocking gaze ‘‘Oh~ You leave me no choice. I’ll roast your chicken feathers!’’.
At that moment, everything ceased to exist for these stubborn Kusanagis. Meanwhile, Iori uses this in his advance. Just as Chizuru was about to stop them, Yagami gives her the gaze saying that everything is under his control.
After the redhead stands up and steps back, he extends his arms at Kyos. Lastly, he smacks their heads ‘‘Will you stop fighting!? Shut up and listen to the adults!’’.
As the Kusanagis rub their heads, they speak up in unison ‘‘You asshole…’’. Fortunately, such an attack helped them to cool down.
_____________________
In the end, Yagami takes his leave and takes Kyos with him.
Fortunately, the redhead only needs to take care of one brunette instead of two. More importantly, it can be a good chance to learn more about him and what happens in the future.

The Players are the Problem: Community Managers Complain of Harassment Excessive
Some Destiny 2 and Minecraft players seem to be overindulging in their fandom.

Reddit: Share on Facebook. Share on Twitter.
In video games community management is all about listening to the concerns of the fans and communicating with them in a way that makes them feel that their concerns are being taken into consideration. But what happens when some of the concerned players start to cause concern for themselves?
This is the question that two major gaming companies have been asked in recent times. Community managers claim that the fact that players harass them makes it harder for them to do their jobs.
The first example is from the Destiny 2 community on Reddit one of the members posted on Wednesday expressing concern about the decreasing number of threads that receive an official reply from Bungie. Dylan Gafner, Destiny 2 Community Manager, replied to explain that he had taken time off due to "some serious harassment of my family and me," which led to "a reduction in communication as the team develops future defenses or strategies to prevent such incidents."
The harassing Gafner is referring to goes beyond "just rude responses on Twitter or vague remarks," Gafner wrote. It includes "real threats to our people and our studio" from fans. Some of the harassment was apparently conducted through private channels. 30tt "Just because you can't see it directly in a given tweet or forum reply doesn't mean that it did not happen," Gafner wrote.
Gafner wrote, "I will be very clear in stating that I appreciate the studio for the amount it has helped me personally after some serious harassment of me and my family." "I'm taking a break partly due to this."
While Gafner acknowledged that "it's an inconvenience that we don't have more interaction with each other in recent times," the reduced communication isn't meant to be an "retaliatory action" against the majority of the community. Gafner wrote "Sometimes we just need to take a little bit of time to get things sorted out." "Can take weeks, or take months-just like any given development pipeline, because we want the best for our players as well as our employees. We cannot continue doing business as usual until we have the issues addressed. It's a pain, but we want to make sure people are protected and are taken care of.

Mojang clarified in a FAQ that it doesn't focus on minor offenses like swearing, but more on serious instances of hate speech, bullying harassment sexual solicitation, or making threats to other people. Mojang also clarifies that it will not be monitoring chat on private servers (absent a player complaint) and that humans will be involved in any ban decision and that any bans are subject to appeals.
Fans are voicing their disapproval of the new moderation system. Many angry fans are forming groups under the #SaveMinecraft hashtag. The hashtag is full of dramatic comparisons to George Orwell's 1984. In one of the most straightforward examples of the hashtag the hashtag, a Twitter user wrote: "Just remove all chat reports." "Servers should be in charge of moderation like they have always been."

Writing on Reddit, the relatively new Community Manager MojangMessh said that while the company "appreciate[s] and value[s]" this type of feedback, Mojang is "not planning on changing" its new chat moderation system. MojangMessh stated that taking into consideration feedback does not mean that it will change the principles of design Mojang Studios adheres too.
MojangMeesh then was able to criticize members of the Minecraft community for taking their feedback too far. Overzealous and harassing messages from some fans have been hindering communication between the company and its players, the developer wrote:
There have been some people following Mojang employees on Reddit and have responded to irrelevant posts by them and making comments about this system. This isn't a way to encourage employees to reach the community and will not bring about the changes that you want. If you feel strongly about something in Minecraft Please let us know in the appropriate locations (such as these threads) since we'd like to hear what you have to say! But, harassment doesn't benefit anyone, not even the devs who receive it or the players who are excited about a forthcoming change. This kind of behavior is detrimental to our ability to engage in positive and honest conversations with you.
Although problematic players are not new to the world of gaming It is not common for community managers to make such public complaints about harassment that they have to work harder. Let's hope that these community managers prevail and that the companies involved will continue giving the assistance they require.

ASTRO OBSERVATIONS PT. 7
gemini and pisces placements are similar in the sense that geminis are able to see things from all perspectives, while pisces are able to empathise with people who have all sorts of different perspectives. pisces placements... be careful with over-empathising with the people who hurt you to the point where you’re understanding why they did it and you start excusing their actions. gemini placements... be careful with seeking the multi-layers and million different perspectives in everything and everyone to the point where you’re driving your own mind insane and you don’t know what your opinion is anymore because you hyper-analyse so much. too much of a good ability becomes a curse.
people with venus-mars aspects have a talent for making people who hate them fall in love with them 💋
moon in the 11th house natives tend to attract friends who get into scandals. moon in the 10th house natives tend to be the ones who get into said scandals. it’s a PERFECT FRIENDSHIP
capricorn placements have a talent for knowing how to make things last. they want to prolong the enjoyment they get out of something for as long as possible, which is why their hobbies, friendships and relationships tend to last a lifetime... hedonistic sluts
since both the 7th house and the 11th house rule fandoms, celebrities with a 7th house or 11th house neptune can attract fans who view them as angels who can’t do nothing wrong — because of this, those celebrities rarely take accountability for their mistakes, since people keep pushing the “but they’re perfect :(“ light on them
pluto conjunct ascendant natives always come off as very serious during first impressions, no matter how approachable and inviting they strive to appear.
sun and moon in the 10th house people may feel as if they’re always exposed to the public eye, they can’t get away with keeping things secretive. others always notice whatever they want kept on the low. this can be especially frustrating if they notice that others aren’t exposed to the same kind of scrutiny that they are for simply existing
lilith in pisces bitches have a natural talent for appearing like angels even in situations where they are 100% guilty. it’s very easy for them to put on their vulnerable, lost puppy act lmfao, which triggers others’ protective instincts. they may be able to cry on cue when people call them out on their bullshit, making them feel like THEY’re the shitty ones for confronting the lilith native... it’s insane
lilith in the 12th house natives may feel as though the themes of lilith are trapped in their psyche, at the core of who they are and those themes become unavoidable for them — they’re always there, lurking in the shadows, becoming the center of their nightmares
people with mercury in the 1st house can feel veryyy threatened and defensive when someone possesses knowledge in an area that they don’t, it’s like it hits them right on their biggest fears. they often either try to “one-up” the other person in an attempt to heal their broken ego or shut down altogether in insecurity. it’s imperative that they work on developing a strong sense of self-worth because they can be extremely prone to comparing their mental skills to those of other people.
people with personal planets in the 12th house may feel as though a lot of their artistic drive is stifled by their lack of energy. like... in the mental realm there’s a lot going on and it’s incredible, but then you pick up a pen to actualize your visions and you feel exhaustion immediately overtaking you. it can feel like there’s a lot to your psyche that feels inaccessible to you not because you don’t want to explore it, but because you have yet to restore the energy to dive deep into it. this can be especially noticeable if there’s absolutely no 5th house energy in the chart
people with jupiter in an earth sign love being surrounded by greeneries in their home; they may take a lot of enjoyment out of taking care of plants, gardening, cooking and stuff of the sort. it makes them feel more grounded, independent, and even healed. they also LOVE scents that connect them to nature like the scent of grass and the ocean.
air mercuries can be very beware of strangers, they can feel offended when their friends make them socialize with someone they don’t know and it can take a hot while before they trust the person enough to lower their defences a bit. they need to know it’s safe before expressing their usual sexy eccentric selves in front of someone new. on the other hand, aries placements can also hate being introduced to new people through their friends but it’s mostly because they’re very territorial over them, and can’t stand the thought that this new person can hurt their friendship in any possible way
meanwhile, it’s probably an earth or leo/sagittarius mercury introducing new friends to the group. they’re so fucking good with people and it shows in how they make people feel welcomed so easily, it’s like they “take” the person in and adopt them into the group. they can’t stand seeing someone being treated like an outcast because they know how it sucks to feel rejected, so they’ll try their best to make you feel included
while on the subject of people who hate seeing others be treated like an outcast because they know how it feels like to be rejected: SCORPIO RISINGS. bro. people underestimate how chill they can actually be. if they see you being left out, they’ll approach you with no fucks given and do anything in their power to make you feel comfortable. they do so well in group settings.
and while on the subject of scorpio risings... i have a scorpio rising friend and he goes thru it on the daily. he often complains that people are always suspicious of him and that they seem repulsed by him, strangers on the street will stay tf away from him. and it’s so heartbreaking because his personality is so friendly and welcoming and it doesn’t at all match his intimidating appearance. scorpio risings have this energy that not many people can handle, others feel either really drawn to them or downright scared of them because of the “danger” element they seem to carry in them
i know two people who are both scorpio suns and libra moons and they look the exact same, even though they have different risings. brown, deep-set eyes, coarse dark hair, naturally tanner skin tone — and they have the same style as well, using lots of band t-shirts and dark clothing. scorpio energy is always so noticeable wherever it is i swear, it’s like it takes over the rest of the chart
gemini moons are what yall claim gemini venuses to be. like, seriously... have you ever met someone with a gemini venus? they don’t need constant stimulation or else they’ll get bored and cheat. not in the slightest; actually, they’re often incredibly loyal and crave longterm, committed relationships. if anything, they need stimulation outside of their relationship in the form of a good, exciting career and hobbies so that they don’t get too addicted to their partner and to constantly analysing every aspect of their relationship. gemini moons however, tend to have multiple partners throughout life and they often feat deep commitment. they can be huge players imo, IT’S THEM YOU SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT!
sagittarius placements are so... tactile? like, they love to touch things. when they go to stores and stuff, they’ll start holding everything that catches their attention— it’s like they can only decide if they want to buy something after thouroughly exploring how it feels, the texture and the energy that the object gives them through touch. and they talk so much with their hands. it makes me so anxious like bitch you aren’t selena gomez, i promise you that you CAN keep your hands to yourself
taurus placements are so weird to me, i can’t understand them. it’s like they’re afraid of exploring their own depths, which in turn makes me unable to explore them. okay, how do i put this... it’s like they have this preset idea of who they are and after deciding so, they’re unwilling to let go of it. “i’m the stable friend who’s here for everyone even when i can barely take care of my own self” and then that’s who they are: the people who are a steady rock in the lives of others, taking care of everyone. and then they refuse to change even after getting hurt. and then, it’s like... well, you can’t just be that. you are a human who contains multitudes, but i don’t think you give yourself enough credit on how layered you are. that fear of changeability, that need to be the one stable thing in a world full of unpredictability will only damage you in the end, because you won’t get to fully experience life’s greatest pleasure: knowing yourself. becoming your own best friend, exploring every layer that there is to your being. i think you deny yourself of that experience because you fear that, with self-learning comes self-growth which leads to transformation. and you fear transformation because you don’t want to change for the worst. but like... transformation is necessary and with that comes adaptability + flexibility, which are things you could greatly benefit from.
scorpio venuses can be so pessimistic— and when they’re in a dark mindset, it’s so difficult to pull them out of it. it’s so difficult to get them to see the good in difficult situations, and to help them believe that it gets better. but even if you don’t believe me, i’ll keep telling you; it does get better. you’ll get through this.
jupiter in the 4th house is an indicator of food having been an amazing part of your childhood; there might’ve been a lot of feasts and you could’ve had a parent who loved to cook. being well fed might be a huge concern for you now; you might get sick easily when you’re eating fast food and non-traditional plates.
mercury square uranus is an extremely difficult aspect to have because, in your earlier years, you might’ve felt dumb or like there was something wrong with your intelligence because you might’ve found school difficult due to it’s structured nature that didn’t fit with the way you like to learn things— you need to learn in an interactive way that piques your interest. your anxiety and any traumatic experienced that you faced could’ve heavily impacted your school performance. you might’ve had an ease with learning but then, when it came to doing the written tests, you couldn’t perform to the best of your abilities. either way, school might’ve been a source of a lot of stress and difficulty.
mercury square pluto can have some weird manifestation where, like... you suspect things but you always suspect the wrong things. i’ve met a few people with this aspect and all of them were extremely suspicious of the most random things who were literally normal and innocent. this aspect can cause a lot of chaos to one’s interpersonal relationships because you might find yourself suspecting your loved ones in the weirdest circumstances due to your trust issues, which in return causes them to lose trust in you + the want to confide in you because you keep questioning everything they’re up to WHEN THEY’RE NOT UP TO ANYTHING IN THE FIRST PLACE. probably the most frustrating thing that can happen with this aspect is when you always suspect what you shouldn’t, but then, when sketchy things are actually happening that should be questioned, you don’t bat an eye to it. omfg it drives me insane
moon conjunct the ascendant can make someone have a very delicate appearance that gives others the impression that they need to handle you like fine china or else you might break. my mother has this at a very tight orb and whenever i bring people over, their first impression of her is always “she looks so frail”. the native might be extremely sensitive to every minor inconvenience which brings a lot of frustration to them, a feeling that they can’t control their reactions and inner turmoil. it can also suck when you don’t want to be depicted as the victim but then that’s the way everyone perceives you. the native might have very expressive and shiny eyes, and they can cry easily. it’s very difficult for them to hide their emotions.
your jupiter sign can signify where you feel an overflow of energy. jupiter in cancer may feel like you have an overflow of nurturing and protective energy towards your loved ones, with a lot of intuition and need for introspection. jupiter in leo can make you feel like you a talent for self-expression and dealing with others, being overly dramatic and prideful at times, and with a huge drive to have fun. jupiter in virgo can feel an overflow of perceptive qualities, with a huge amount of self-awareness and also awareness of your surroundings, ability to constantly analyse and a constant strive for perfection (which btw is impossible since perfection is unattainable and you’re a human being who makes mistakes and that’s completely fine. stop finding flaws where there aren’t none).

Our Love is a Game
Lando Norris x Reader
Request from @jamieeboulos
Warnings: pinch of fluff, cute ending because they are the best
Word count: 2.7 k
Requests are open :)
Tumblr media
It all started with a phone number, an innocent exchange that would subsequently change the world you knew; mostly for the better. When you had met Lando, as far as you were concerned you had just met a 21 year old who lived in London and had a passion for cars. How wrong you were. It was only when things started to get serious that he sat you down and explained everything that came with being a formula one driver; more importantly the fandom that he was involved in.
You had always been a private person and admittedly this piece of information almost broke your relationship but after some time to think you had decided that he was worth it all. You both decided it was a better idea to keep your relationship as quiet as possible - you took every precaution to make sure you stayed a stranger to the fans.
For the past 2 years, you thought you had managed to stay clear of the cameras, the photos and the twitch streams but it wasn’t until a fan-made compilation caused your world to spiral out of control.
You and Lando were out for a run, it was a part of your morning routine - a great way to start the day and it was time that you two could escape the motor sport world and act like a normal couple without worrying about who might be watching. It was time you both valued and appreciated. On this particular morning, Lando had decided to add to his Instagram story, a short video of his morning adventures - the mist still hanging around the trees as you ran under a heavily graffitied bridge, the early birds song chirping animatedly. At the time you didn’t think much of it as you were too busy tying your hair back up to notice.
It wasn’t until you got home and looked at his story that your heart stopped, rushing over to the kitchen island you placed your phone down and ran your fingers through your hair. It was a blink and you’ll miss it moment but in the corner of his video - the last millisecond before it ended - there was a flash of a purple top (the purple top you had been wearing) and a swish of brown hair as you chucked it back up into a ponytail.
“Lando.” You called out, trying to keep your voice as calm as you could. You didn’t know why it had affected you so much - or why you were so desperate to keep your identity a secret. It wasn’t like you wanted to hide your relationship; you were the happiest you ever had been, everyday was exciting and offered new prospects - it was more that you were so used to being in this bubble with Lando, the idea of it bursting seemed rather unappealing. Usually you didn’t care for how others saw you but seeing some of the words that people used to describe him, it would be enough to trouble even the thickest of skins.
Lando’s close proximity broke your thoughts as he stared down at your phone, pausing on the flash of brown and purple. “I am so sorry, love.” He almost whispered, his eyes widening at his carelessness. He picked your phone up to take a closer look.
“It will be alright, won’t it? I mean, it’s a blink and you’ll miss it.” You had said, more to reassure yourself than Lando. He didn’t answer, anxiety building in the pit of his stomach because he knew exactly what he had started.
The fan-made compilation didn’t go viral until a few hours later - as it turns out that flash of purple was the perfect cherry on top of an unappetising cake. Lando was sat on stream - not that this was out of the ordinary and Max had decided to join him, leaving you alone to rewatch Friends for the umpteenth time.
The pair were sat reacting to videos on YouTube when a clip of a seal swimming into a shoal of fish started playing - the amusing part was that they kept quickly dispersing away from the seal in question. Unsurprisingly, they laughed and Lando spluttered: “This is me trying to find a girlfriend.” What the fans didn’t know was the apparent irony of that sentence and this was what caused the major meltdown; whilst Lando and Max were busy crying with laughter - that chat had filled up with the same link and references to the video you would be redirected through.
Max was the first to stop laughing, tapping Lando on the shoulder as he pointed at the chat. Hundreds of the same message filled the screen: “That’s not what this compilation shows.” “Lando, what are you hiding from us?” “Lando and Max laughing knowing very well he has a girlfriend.”
“Chat what on earth are you waffling on about.” Max chuckled uneasily, looking at Lando out of the corner of his eye. Lando sat with a forced smile, his nostrils flaring as he continued through the comments. He could only let out a tense laugh as he swallowed thickly - his throat feeling suddenly dry. You were still sitting, completely engrossed and unaware that Lando Norris was now trending on twitter.
Max had come up with an excuse to end the stream not long after, Lando uncharacteristically quiet. His thoughts were with you in the other room, had you seen it? Did you know? How would you react? He felt as though he had lost all control, like he had failed you entirely - all he wanted to do was protect you yet he was the one to screw it up.
“Hey,” Max nudged his shoulder, “It was bound to happen at some point. Let’s go and see if she’s seen it - if not then -” He took a deep breath, “We will watch it together. We need to know what we are working with here.” Lando nodded, unable to reply, his body went into automatic pilot mode and too quickly he was standing facing you.
Pausing the tv, you looked at Lando - his jaw tightened and facial expressions set as though he had just seen a ghost. “Is everything ok?” You asked apprehensively.
“There’s something you need to see.” Max reached for his phone, pushing Lando onto the sofa. You offered your arm to Lando, pulling him into a hug. Max pulled up the video and pressed play. A tense atmosphere held the room hostage - breath restricted and gazes fixed onto the tiny screen in front of you.
It started with a clip from this year’s Goodwood - Lando preparing to drive his last hill climb - you remembered it well, a McLaren hat placed on your head mainly to cover your identity; knowing that there would be more than a few fans around. The clip moved to 3 separate stills - all of you in your McLaren hat. One with your back to the camera, you hand placed around Lando’s waist, the other two a side profile as you spoke to Max.
The reaction was immediate, you slapped your hand to your mouth, Lando looked horror-struck and Max was watching you carefully.
The video moved on, this time a clip from the quadrant video where Niran trains like Lando for 24 hours - Lando and Niran were in the kitchen preparing to eat their breakfast when once again the video moved to stills. This time they were of your reflection in the oven - holding the camera. You had thought at the time, if you were behind the camera it would stop every chance of you accidentally being caught on camera. Apparently not.
The video had moved on again, this time to stills of Lando arriving on track - of course there was no way for you to get on track without being photographed and you were fine with that because you would just arrive after Lando either with Jon or Charlotte. Photos of you arriving with Jon and Charlotte flashed up - with them you were just another member of staff but put with those other stills and it really did yell out that you and Lando were romantically involved. Finally the flash of purple from Lando’s story. The game was up.
“Oh my-” You stuttered as the video came to an end. Fortunately your Instagram hadn’t been shown but judged by how skilled you knew the fans to be - it would only be a matter of time. “I feel sick.” You admitted, wiping your hands across your face. Lando still hadn’t said a word, staring blankly at the floor. Max was the first to come up with something logical, turning to you and Lando.
“It will blow over.” He started, “The fans will soon lose interest and move onto the next big headline. We just need to ignore anything we see regarding the subject.” He moved his attention to you. “Maybe avoid social media for a few days. Let everyone cool down -” Sensing your means to interrupt, he held his hand up. “I know you shouldn’t have to and I know none of this is fair but unfortunately people have no boundaries and believe because it’s on social media it is their business. If they were in our situation, I’m pretty sure they would be the first to complain. Let’s just go along with it for now. It will give you time to think about what to do next.”
Lando cleared his throat, pulling you closer into him. “I’ve failed you. All I wanted to do was protect you.” At this, Max got up and left.
Shaking your head, you pressed your lips to his forehead. “You could never. Think about how long we kept it secret for. Besides, until we announce or admit anything - it isn’t confirmed.” You offered, trying to soothe his worries. He nodded, still not convinced.
“Our love is like a game and it’s not a game I enjoy playing.” He croaked, lacing your fingers together.
“I know, Lando, I know. Let’s let everything calm down and then we can think about what our next step is.”
Weeks later and it was the night before you were due to leave for your summer holiday. You would be spending it with Lando and some of his friends and family. Due to the current pandemic, it had been so long since you had been away - even if it was a bigger group of you going; you were still looking forward to spending that quality time with Lando.
Max had decided to take himself and Tom off to the streaming room - leaving you and Lando to sort out the remaining items you needed for your time away.
“I have a present for you.” He said suddenly, his hands behind his back. You beamed, taking a step closer to him. He shook his head, “If you want it - “ He pointed at his lips.
Rolling your eyes, you pecked his lips then held out your hands like a child. Lando chuckled, “Close your eyes.” Hands still outstretched and eyes closed, you waited for Lando to present you with your surprise. He grasped your left wrist and attached something to it - “No peeking.” He added. A moment or two later, he dropped his hold of your wrist and said: “You can open them now.” You could hear the smile on his lips. You opened your eyes and looked straight to your wrist - he had given you a pink watch. You furrowed your eyebrows and looked up at him, his eyes twinkled as he then pointed to the orange watch on his wrist.
“Watches?” You asked, confusion laced your tone.
Nodding, he said, “We all have matching watches but in different colours - they are for our holiday away.”
You gave him a lopsided grin and wrapped your arms around his neck, “I love it. Thank you.”
In the streaming room, Max was having to ignore the majority of the comments because they were all asking the same thing: “Who was the girl from the compilation.” He was trying his hardest to keep moving off the topic, instead showing off the watches - it had been his idea, blue for him, orange for Lando, a child’s watch for Tom and a pink watch for you. He had listed off all of the colours and said who they belonged to: “And then pink-” He paused, mentally face palming. He looked over to Tom for assistance - he hadn’t meant to say pink at all. “And pink is for someone.” He cursed his poor excuse but as if by magic - Lando walked through the door.
Distracting the stream from his slip up.
Croatia was a dream come true, the hot summer sun on your back and the time to just relax and recharge. Days spent with Lando sunbathing on the boat or stuck in a tense game of Uno. Not being the only female was brilliant as well - as they got to go off and not feel guilty about leaving you on your own.
Currently, you and Lando were standing in each other's arms - the afternoon drawing into the evening as the sun began to set. You had your arms around his neck and his arms were around your waist, sighing contentedly you broke the silence: “This is nice.” He pressed his lips into your hair, a sign that he agreed with your statement. In that moment, it was just you and him - everyone seemed to disappear from around you and all worries vanished. It was the simple yet affectionate moments that had always meant the most to you. You felt as though you could relax every muscle in your body, listening to his steady heartbeat - you wished for this moment to never end, to forever be in his arms and to not worry about who sees you there.
Ever since that compilation had been made, the thought had been on your mind a lot. Were you ready to go public with Lando? At the end of the day you were both happy and surely that was the most important thing.
Later that night, you were sitting eating your meal when a phone was handed to you, displayed on it was a picture of you and Lando - in each other’s arms.
Instantly you knew what this meant, looking at Lando you were met with the same expression. He did as well.
You and Lando had decided it was time to announce your relationship, there was no point sneaking around anymore if people knew and were looking out for you. You had agreed that the best way to do it was if you joined him in a stream, that way they got to know you a bit more for who you were.
“Is it ok to feel as nervous as I am?” You asked him, pulling up a chair beside him. He was setting up the stream, two mugs of tea placed in front of you. It seemed completely unnatural to sit facing the camera.
“I mean, this is kind of a big deal so yes I would say, it’s completely natural for you to feel nervous.” He reached for your hand, rubbing his thumb over the back of it. Nodding, you took a deep breath.
“Ok. I’m ready.” You said, your heart beating at a million miles an hour. The corners of his lips turned up, leaning in to leave you a kiss on the lips.
“I love you and I’m so proud of you.” He admitted quietly, as though you were the only person in the world, his eyes flickered with complete adoration.
“I love you too. Now, shall we start it?”
Lando went to press the start stream button but paused. He turned back to face you, his eyes wide and offered an apologetic smile.
“What did you do?” You asked, a smile toying at your lips as you had an idea of what it might have been.
“Stream, meet my girlfriend.”
He had already started it...
