I know Snape was the only death eater that was able to produce a patrons and I’d just like to beg your pardon.
Snape conjured a patrons based on an obsession. What he had for Lily might have been love once but let be real, we’ve surpassed that phase. Now it feels like it’s just an obsession over her.
Other than Lily, his life was fucking miserable. His father was a prat and his mother was weird. He got bullied at school and he doesn’t really seem to enjoy his teaching life very much.
It’s also portrayed that his patronus is conjured from love and not happiness.
So excuse me if I feel like any other death eater has happier memories than Severus Snape.
Lucius Malfoy, he’s respected at the ministry and has a wife, a son that he at least cares about, a nice ass mansion. He’s wealthy and grew up in a famous, rich family, why can’t he conjure a patronus?
Bellatrix Lestrange, like the only death eater who really enjoys what she’s doing with Voldemort. She straight up laughs when killing Sirius. Why can’t she conjure a patronus?
Regulus Black, whose love for his god damn house elf got himself killed. Why can’t he conjure a patronus?
Narcissa Malfoy, who loves her son more than anything, so much that she straight up lied to Voldemort who can read minds just because there’s a chance her son is still alive. Why can’t she conjure a patronus?
Why can’t any of the death eaters conjure a patronus especially since Harry, at 13 years old, could do it based on a made up memory.
It’s a shit excuse to get people to like Snape more.

Company - Regulus & Sirius Black
Masterlists
Pairing: platonic!Regulus Black x platonic!Sirius Black
Warning: crying, loneliness
Word count: 1479
Summary: Sirius is crying at the black lake. A black cat comes to give him company. Regulus is crying in the astronomy tower. A big, black dog comes to give him company.
Sirius
He sucked in a breath of air, savoring the feeling of the cold and crisp air that made his lungs burn. It felt as if he was slowly burning away from the inside by a frostbitten glow. The tears on his cheeks were hot to the cold surface of his soft skin and strands of ebony curls stuck to his face.
Autumn had almost passed and the grounds were covered in fallen leaves. Some mornings a thin layer of frost was covering them, making them glitter in the morning sun’s light. The change of seasons brought the cold with it and it made Sirius feel numb where he sat on the ground under the big oak tree near the lake. But he was glad for the cold. It made him feel something. Something else than the utter despair and hopelessness that seemed to have seeped into him and found home in his heart.
Everything was simply hard right now. For every day that went he talked even less with his brother and for every day that went his mother and father seemed to hate him more. He couldn’t sleep at night and he couldn’t function normally at day. His homework was left untouched and then handed in badly done. He did stress a bit about his grades but he also really didn’t have the energy to put down the work needed. Which eventually made him stress even more, but right now he couldn’t find it in himself to be too bothered.
His friends were worried about him. James had some days just randomly pulled him into a hug before heading to bed. Sirius hadn’t questioned it. He just gave his friend a thankful smile and hugged him back. Peter made sure to always carry some snacks around because he noticed that his friend hadn’t eaten enough in days. Remus, his lovely Remus, the boy who held his heart in his hands, was always making sure Sirius knew he was there for whatever whenever. When walking through the corridors, Remus slung an arm around his shoulders, pulling him into his side. Or he would slip his hand into Sirius and give it a comforting squeeze. Some night when Sirius actually stayed in the dorm at night, Remus would pull Sirius into his bed, draw the curtains and just hold him close.
He hadn’t noticed the worried glances his younger brother threw him across the great hall, in the corridors when they passed each other, or out on the grounds. He did however notice now when an elegant cat approached him in the dark. Its fur was black as coal and seemed to have a shine to it. It was definitely not a stray, it was far too well kept for that. The cat meowed and sat down just out of reach, looking up at him with gray, glittering eyes.
Sirius wiped his tears and dragged a rugged breath in, letting the air in. At his shaky breath the cat tilted its head just slightly to the side and Sirius smiled a sad smile at it. He held out his hand for it to greet him and the cat carefully sniffed his hand before deeming him okay. It gently nuzzled its head against Sirius’ hand and he marveled at the softness of its fur.
At further inspection, Sirius noticed that the cat had a white spot on his chest, right above his front legs. It kind of resembled a star and Sirius smiled at the cat.
“Thank you,” he mumbled. His voice was hoarse and uneven from all the crying. The cat tilted its head again. “For the company,” Sirius explained. The black ball of fur meowed and then crept closer and settled down on the ground beside him, laying down with its head in his lap and Sirius smiled. He decided he couldn’t leave for the dorm now, not when the cat had settled down so cozily. He didn’t feel like explaining to Remus either why he’d been outside now and decided to just get back later when the cat had gone and just sleep on a couch in the common room. Yeah, that would have to do, he nodded to himself and wiped his tear stained eyes again. That would have to do.
Regulus
The cold from the metal railing in the astronomy tower seeped through the sleeves in his uniform and left him feeling even colder than before. The wind was blowing icy winds that got caught in his hair and whipped it around. Snowflakes tumbled down in the wind creating a messy, blurry image of the grounds spreading out in front of him.
It was the middle of Christmas break and Regulus had stayed at school for the holidays. Now the school had almost emptied out and it only added to his feeling of being left behind and alone. He’d thrown glances at his brother when he’d seen him in the great hall but he hadn’t spoken with him. Sirius had sent him a silver ring with Regulus’ constellation carved into it for Christmas and the present made him miss his brother even more than he already was. The cold metal pressed into his skin when he buried his face in his hands, wiping away the tears only for new ones to take their place.
Regulus had gotten Sirius a new camera. He’d grabbed Remus in the library, asking to just have a word with him and Remus told him that Sirius had managed to push his camera off of his nightstand and managed to break it so badly that a ‘reparo’ hadn’t been able to fix it. Apparently he’d been devastated and Remus had been planning to get him a new one but let Regulus do that instead. He’d thanked him quietly but profusely afterwards.
But despite the personal gifts they’d gotten each other they had barely talked at all. Regulus had put his head in his hand at breakfast on Christmas morning, making it possible for Sirius to see that he was wearing it. Sirius had grabbed a hold of him when he was leaving and giving him a sincere thank you.
But now, Regulus was standing in the astronomy tower with tears falling from his eyes and sobs rippling through his body, feeling more alone and given up on than ever. He sat down on the floor, turning his back to the breathtaking views and the cold winds. He pulled his legs up to his chest and rested his head against his knees, letting his curls fall around his face, hiding him away from the world. The silence was deafening around him so when the sound of the door being pushed open he looked up from where he was sitting.
A massive, black dog slipped outside to join him on the deck. It almost reached the door handle in height and the coat of long, shiny fur moved so smoothly around it that it looked like the whole thing was just a massive shadow. The dog sauntered closer to him, reaching out its nose and sniffed his hair, making Regulus want to squirm in his seat. He’d never seen the dog before, not even on his nightly strolls in his animagus form. He sniffled and wiped away some tears from his face and then tentatively reached out letting his hand glide through the smooth fur upon the dog’s head. It let out a huff and laid down beside him, resting his heavy head in Regulus' lap, forcing him to let his legs fall flat against the floor.
“Thank you,” Regulus hiccuped. The dog’s ears perked up and it seemed to title its head to look up at him. “For the company,” he whispered and continued to stroke the head of the gentle dog. The dog seemed content with his explanation and closed its eyes, letting Regulus continue his ministrations. After a while, Regulus had calmed down, enjoying the warmth and the company the dog brought. The dog seemed to enjoy the attention it was receiving too and happily turned around in Regulus’ lap when his hand started scratching it under his chin. When it did flip over, Regulus saw the white spot of fur under his chin. It was bright and white as snow and Regulus let his hand pass over it, smiling softly at the happy dog in his lap.
“Yeah,” he decided quietly. “Thank you.”
