does anyone have tips for how to deal with the phenomenon of 'autistic need to sort and hypercategorize things, except that there are multiple different axes by which to sort them and you can't use them all at the same time, and the result is overwhelm and distress?'
i've learned that tagging systems help, at least, but sometimes they uh. sometimes they can only go so far

#whosebaby talks#whosebaby makes things#whosebaby does game dev#ttrpg tag#i first wrote up that nightmare of tags when i only had three or four hacks in progress lmfao#looking at it now there are some i think i could narrow down a bit but it still makes me itchy#and with how much bleed and overlap there tends to be with different hacks and systems#it can be really inconvenient and disruptive to separate them completely for ones that have multiple drafts and test run docs#the tagging system i use on here is pretty damn loose by my usual standards but keeping track of game dev in the way i do it#kind of needs a lot more careful distinction and along multiple axes#the alternative is pretty much just one big soup which works *okay* but can still be overwhelming and a hassle to keep up with#anyway this is not remotely the only thing this applies to and Suffering Squirtle especially when urge to sort physical objects#and it's also annoying when it's something harder to quantify like#'i'm genuinely really having fun with this test scene/campaign and want to continue it' vs 'ehn. don't mind not picking this one back up'#sighs#also yeah i have. i have a lot of balls in the air here lmao#this doesn't include the i think like 5-10 docs i made on gdrive before i switched to the notes app because the formatting sucked to use#and the above folders also don't include things like the divination stuff i've made#me with nerve damage that makes handling physical tarot cards painful; making a dice table instead: try and stop me asshole#is there a name for that tag

✨Square Square Biz Nov. 2023 - Written Summary
Although the assignment in November has been made amply clear through this collective reading and others (catch up on Retrograde Receipts & TikTok content). We still have two major forces competing for power in our lives before the month’s end : Scorpio & Aquarius. These forces represent real situations and conflicts happening right now. These zodiac signs represent what both sides of conflict bring to the table. Our job is to alchemize it in a way that benefits and aligns us with what’s best. Here's a written summary of the video content. Watch the video for more info. The 3 Squares of November 2023 present major challenges and road blocks that could stop us from reaching upgrades moving into 2024. We've made it too far to be defeated and miss The Open Road. Ending 2023 is an energetic battle. “Raising Your Vibration” is the assignment.
Ultimately, I believe Spirit wants us to choose the path of Freedom, without totally forgetting our bodies, boundaries and emotions. The question is : can we muster up blind faith to get us through tough spots, awkwardness and uncertainty?

“a cosmic wrecking ball”
huge shoutout to Hacks for actually doing research on their tarot cards and not just using the Death card to mean Bad Thing. This drives me crazy about so many other shows (looking at you Killing Eve) and it frustrates me to no end. Not only did Hacks do right by explaining that Death is not an inherently bad card and can also indicate a rebirth, but they really went the extra mile when she pulled the Tower to indicate an impending disaster, correctly identifying it as a worse card than Death because it implies a sudden upheaval/destruction of one's foundation.

Ask me anything...
I'm a 40-year old queer neurodivergent pagan Appalachian American-Canadian librarian. Want to hear a crone opine?
Ask me about life, love, the cosmos, witchcraft, music, poetry, Appalachia, classic movies from the 1910s-1950s, the paranormal, ouija boards, grief, trauma, mental health, spirituality, Battlestar Galactica, Supernatural, Hacks, Amanda Tapping, Mary McDonnell, fanfic....all the things. want me to pull a tarot or oracle card for you? Sure.
I look forward to your messages.

Writers, get yourselves a tarot or oracle deck (or use one you already have). Ask it questions about your writing and your stories. Feeling stuck? Pull some cards! Need to rethink a scene? Ask your deck!
I just started doing this and it has worked wonders for beating writer’s block and helping me keep forward momentum. I hope it can work for you too!
It could also work for visual art!

The Fool
If you want to incorporate the Tarot as a way of delving into your thoughts to understand yourself, then it might benefit you (the general “you”, not the specific you) to reexamine the rigidity, the traditional, the widely accepted meanings of Tarot cards.
This is only if you want to low key therapize yourself and also enjoy Tarot.
So, The Fool, a brief list:
Is unnumbered
Is impulsive
Indicates new beginnings
Mind you, these are still only my opinions.
If The Fool comes up in a Tarot spreadsheet for you, you’ll want to consider all the information available. Be a sponge! Gather the news. Research. Learn.
Traditionally, it’s about starting off on an adventure. Following dreams. Embracing the unknown.
While Tarot readers can, and do, still interpret The Fool in that way, it doesn’t really help if you want to challenge your viewpoints and ideas.
So, make the mistakes! Embrace not knowing everything. Be unashamedly and wholeheartedly you!
Some questions to ponder when this card shows up:
What is the opposite viewpoint here? How well prepared do I think/feel/believe myself to be? How have I behaved in a Foolhardy way? In what ways have I been narrow-minded?
Try to keep the questions focused on yourself. The Tarot doesn’t predict anything. If it does anything, it would be to show you the “hidden” aspects of yourself.
Keep in mind, anyone who says they have “x amount of years reading Tarot”, or “are skilled at interpreting the cards” is doing so most likely to make a profit. Anyone can memorize meanings. Anyone can read Tarot cards.
Still pseudoscience. Still not magical nor mystical, or anything else secretive.
Don’t take this seriously. It’s only for entertainment.
What do you think? How would you define The Fool in relation to your viewpoints, thoughts and moods? Let’s talk about it!

Fun tip for those unsure of their faith. Find free printable Bible verses online, print them on cardboard and make cards out of it. You got tarot cards with a Christian twist. To see if you truly wanna be a christian.
(Explication: Although, in my last post, I talked about having an experience with Jesus, I am still unsure of my spiritual path. That energy I felt was too intense, I got scared. Hope God won't be mad that I take my time before making a decision. If there is a listening ear out there, I'd love to talk about it. Please.)

#synchromysticism ☀️ I was thinking about the chariot card today relating to myself; my life guidance by #synchronicities. The Chariot seems to be animated from a #mysticism perspective (paradigm) - I journey this way in my by choice and practice perhaps this how I put these two together https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synchromysticism #thoth

I together a spreadsheet for my Literary Tarot Challenge to keep track of all the classics and modern books I need to read for it.
Might share it here.
I’m including both the interpretations that come with the deck’s booklet as well as my own personal interpretations of each card based on my own feelings about the books and characters depicted. I’m treating it a little more like an oracle deck so my interpretations don’t necessarily match the traditional ones for each card.
This is a personal challenge I set for myself and in no way affiliated with the Brink Literacy Project. It started as a way to gamify reading so I could break out of the decade long reading burnout i developed struggling through earning my English Degree.
Even if people aren’t interested in the challenge I’ve labeled which books (classic and modern) were written by diverse/marginalized writers so if someone wants to use it to find titles like that to read for themselves, it might be useful. Brink Literacy Project did a really good job inviting BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and women authors to contribute to the project.
Or when the deck comes in, people can drop an ask, I’ll pull a card at random and you can choose to read either the classic or something by the contemporary author who chose it.

Aries Tea Party: You must come with an outfit or makeup that has flair, spices fill the air, everyone follows the host's lead, bright and airy atmosphere, loud voices and laughter, decisions are made here, a bold and maybe even conflict-fueling guest list.
Taurus Tea Party: In a beautiful garden, elegant dishes and teapots, roses and candles, soft attire, long dresses, good and close company, peaceful music, hand-crafted invitations, animals possibly invited too.
Gemini Tea Party: Picnic style in a meadow or in a lovely solarium, arboretum, or aviary, the tea is hot metaphorically and literally, matching outfits or themed outfits is encouraged, never-ending conversations, social games, maybe a book club gathering, a diverse guest list.
Cancer Tea Party: Family and close friends only, has gift bags, the best tea and hors d'oeuvres you've ever had, smile for the pictures, uplifting atmosphere, heirlooms possibly used, toss in a little magic whether it be 🏰 magic, grandma's recipes, the magic of family and love, or literal witchcraft, maybe a tea party by moonlight, maybe a tea party on the beach.
Leo Tea Party: Must dress extravagant or within a creative theme, rich flavors, royal gardens or tea rooms, watch out for the politics, be sure to compliment your host, there is room for indulgence and opulence, the best rumors you'll ever hear, the best service you've ever had too, there's time for a dance, for a reading, for croquet, for everything, drama may unfold but enjoy the show or ride, maybe a little wine with your tea?
Virgo Tea Party: An itinerary printed out and closely followed, please be punctual, dress nice, manners matter here, high-quality tea and food, entertaining and surprisingly decadent, there may be books to explore, you'll learn more than you expected at this gathering - whether it be about everyone's business or a new life hack, aesthetically pleasing and thoughtful decor, everything must be perfect, a place for stimulation but also respite.
Libra Tea Party: Plenty of sweets, the aesthetics 😍🤩, dainty and delicate, possibly a clever theme, personalized cups or napkins for the guests, has a guest list that is great for networking and matchmaking, comfortable chairs and couches, everything is pleasant from the decor to the fragrances to the temperature, will happen on a beautiful day.
Scorpio Tea Party: Private, exclusive guest list, spicy or strong flavors, may be inspired by fiction, crystals and witchy candles, maybe the perfect time for a tarot reading, a place where you'll hear secrets and hearts are spilled, maybe a sexy tea party. ;)
Sagittarius Tea Party: Fairy lights, maybe a tea party by candlelight, or by a beautiful fireplace - either way the lighting will be a centerpiece, cozy vibes, insightful conversations, plenty of laughs, possibly some excitement even if things seem like a quant tea party, a great time for show and tell, exotic or hard to find teas, very interesting company.
Capricorn Tea Party: Could be done in a traditional way, a beautiful chandelier or statues, maybe out in the woods, classical or indie music, only a few guests, VIP treatment, nothing of poor quality, moments happen here, some surprising secrets may accidentally come out, be sure to follow the dress code.
Aquarius Tea Party: Eclectic decorations, maybe retro vibes, plenty of light blankets and cute pillows, unusual or handcrafted teas, either has a large guest list or is having tea with one other person, could be doing the party for charity, people stay late due to captivating conversations, sneak in a game of chess or conspiracy theories, a gathering of like minds.
Pisces Tea Party: Aquamarine and coral colors, seafood may be served or a special diet, ocean themes, the most ornate cups and silverware, glitter and shimmers, maybe some time for poetry or painting, accommodating, moments to cry and share, only those that impress or connect with the host get invited back.
