Some kind of secrets tonight
Tara Carpenter X Male Reader
Summary- Tara finds out that R is Spiderman.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You are laying down next to Tara. You went to her place to spend time with her, you two finally have some alone time. You gently touch her hand with the scar, she hates her scars.
“Wish, my scars can just disappear,” Tara said.
You have scars but you lied to her about how you got it.
“I still find you attractive with the scars, Tara,” You said.
“Don’t lie to me, Y/n” Tara said.
“I’m not lying,” You said.
“Let's talk about something else,” Tara said.
“Okay, sure,” You said.
She moved closer to you and you put your arm around her body.
“My sister wants to meet you,” Tara said.
“Oh, that sounds serious,” You said.
“She won't stop bugging me until she meets you. So tomorrow you better show up” Tara said.
“So bossy” You teased.
“Shut up” Tara smiled.
You start to kiss her and she put her hand on your cheek, she starts to kiss you back then she smiled.
--
Tara told you to meet her at Sam’s apartment at 7 pm.
“Your boyfriend is late,” Sam said.
Tara just sent you a text but you didn't reply back.
“He will be here,” Tara said.
“Well, he is an hour late. Does he really make you happy?” Sam asked.
“He does. I told him how I got the scars and he said that he still likes me” Tara said.
“I can't believe you told him,” Sam said.
“I didn't want to hide secrets from him. I know he is late and he promised to come early. He isn't replying back to my texts” Tara said.
You were heading to Sam’s apartment but trouble happened. Someone was being mugged then you stop a bank robbery, then help a kid find his parents. With all that going on, it got late and you are three hours late.
“Where the hell have you been!?” Tara yelled.
“It's hard to explain. I tried to make it on time but-” You tried to explain.
“Explain what?” Sam asked.
“I-I... Well, I got lost on the way here” You lied.
“You have Uber on your phone. You have the address” Tara said.
She is glaring at you.
“I-I. I'm sorry, I really tried to make it on time, I swear but I-” You said.
“Don’t lie, Y/n” Tara said.
“I’m sorry for coming late,” You said
“Why you didn't text my sister back? She texted you many times and she called you. Were you with someone else?” Sam said.
“Woah! I'm not a cheater. And I will never cheat on Tara. I was just late because I got lost!” You said.
You start to argue with Sam and Tara. You are still lying that you got lost, but they can see that you are lying about it. Tara won't stop glaring at you and you keep apologizing.
A few days later... Tara is still ignoring you. You went to see her at her apartment but she isn't happy.
“What do you want, Y/n?” Tara said.
“Are you still mad at me? I got you flowers and your favorite snacks” You said.
“Just because you got flowers and my favorite snacks, doesn't mean I forgive you,” Tara said.
“I was just late,” You said.
“Y/N, you were three hours late. It was very important to me because I wanted my sister to meet my boyfriend but... But it seemed you didn't care enough” Tara said
Before you can say something, she closed the door on you. You sighed then you put the items on the ground.
“The stuff is on the floor!” You yelled.
You walked away then seconds later she grabbed the stuff. You want to give her space, so all day you didn't text or call her. But Tara does check her phone to see if you texted back or thinks should she text you back.
Later, Sam went to check up on Tara. They are watching tv and the news is on, they are just going through the channels then Sam stopped.
“I keep seeing this random guy on tv. I think his name is spider boy” Sam said.
“His name is Spider man. I like that he is saving people” Tara said.
“I don't like him,” Sam said.
“Why?” Tara asked.
“I just don't like him. Wanna go out with the others? They are going to a bar” Sam said.
“Sure,” Tara said.
✬ ✬ ✬ ✬
Tara still hasn't spoken to you but you did send her a text. She did call you then you heard screams in the background, Tara didn't have to explain or tell you where she is. You go on your phone and you start to track her phone, but you did call her but someone picked up.
“It's good to finally meet you Y/n. But your girlfriend is busy bleeding out on the floor” Ghostface said.
“I’m going to make you suffer,” You said.
“You are pathetic just like her and Sam” Ghostface said.
Ghost Face hangs up and you rushed to put on the suit. Sam and Tara managed to escape from Ghostface, they run towards a bodega and get on the ground to hide from Ghostface. But Ghostface takes the gun away from the owner and then killed the owner. But there is glass on the floor and they are trying not to make any noise. Ghostface has a shotgun and starts to shoot to scare them.
Tara starts to cry and Sam stays close to her sister, Ghostface pulled the trigger again. You find the bodega then with full force, you kicked the window and hit Ghostface then two hit the ground. But you managed to jump back up, Sam and Tara heard the sound. You run towards them
“Sam and Tara, are you two okay?” You asked.
You noticed they are covered in blood, but know if it's theirs or someone else.
“How did you know our names?” Tara asked.
You start to stutter. You see that Ghostface got up, then you start to fight Ghostface. You punched Ghostface in the face then tackled him to the ground. You and Ghostface get up then you used your webs to tie his hands, then you head-butt him in the face. Again, you run towards Sam and Tara.
“Tara and Sam, go to the hospital, it's not safe here,” You said.
“Behind you!” Tara yelled.
But your spider tingles went up. You turned around and punched Ghostface in the stomach, then Ghostface managed to stab you in the stomach. He pushed the knife deeper and you yelled, blood starts to come out fast. You grabbed his wrist and snapped it in half now he starts to scream in pain.
The cops ran into the store with their guns out. You used your webs on Ghostface’s ankles so he won't escape. You run through the back door, Tara starts to follow you but you didn't notice then Sam followed her sister. You take off your mask and you rest your arm on the brick wall.
“Y/n?” Tara said in shock.
“Wait, you are Spiderman,” Sam said.
“It's a long story. I'm sorry” You said.
Tara didn't know what to say.
“What the fuck” Tara said.
More cops started to arrive, you put your mask back on then you used your web to get to the roof. Tara is speechless and Sam starts to ask questions which Tara doesn't have the answers.
---
Tara went to your place and you are surprised to see her. She pushed you but she didn't push you too hard.
“Why you didn't tell me!?” Tara asked.
“I tried to tell you but I didn't know how or when. I'm sorry, Tara” You said.
“You didn't trust me? I told you everything about my life and my scars” Tara said.
“I do trust you. I was... I just didn't know how to tell you. I wanted to tell you so badly, but my feelings for you are real since the beginning” You said.
“Y/n... I can't believe you are really Spiderman” Tara said.
“I don't want to break up with you. Do you still feel the same way?” You said
She grabbed your shirt and pulled you into a kiss. You start to kiss her back then you smiled.
“There is your answer” Tara smiled.
“Tell me again?” You smiled back.
“Dork. How’s your stomach?” Tara said.
You pull your shirt halfway up.
“I got stitches,” You said.
“From who? A doctor ladybug?” Tara said.
“Was that a bug pun?” You asked.
“Yeah, since you are Spiderman,” Tara said.
“That was corny. But his name is Doctor Strange” You said.
“Stupid name. So, do you have any other powers?” Tara said.
You start to give her a list of your powers.
“And the last one, I can walk on the ceiling,” You said.
“No way, I don't believe you,” Tara said.
“I will show you,” You said.
You start to walk on the wall and then onto the ceiling. She looks up and you smiled at her.
“See? I'm not lying” You said.
“Wow... Y/n-” Tara starts to stutter.
You used your web to go down upside down.
“So... What do you think?” You asked.
She kissed you on the lips.
“That is impressive, Y/n” Tara smiled.
“Please don't tell anyone,” You said.
“I promise, Sam, and I won't tell anyone that you are Spiderman,” Tara said.
“I believe you, Tara. Do you want to walk on the ceiling?” You said.
“Yeah!” Tara smiled.
You get down and land on your feet. You put your arm around her waist and she put her arms around your shoulders. You start to walk and she is holding onto you for dear life.
“I won't let go,” You said.
“You better not let go! This is cool and scary at the same time” Tara said.
Now, you and Tara are on the ceiling. Her grip on you is very hard and she is choking you with her arms.
“You are choking me,” You said.
“Get me down now, Y/n,” Tara said.
You get down and gently let go of her.
“You are okay?” You asked.
“That was freaky,” Tara said.
Later, you spend time with Tara by watching a movie together. During the movie, you and Tara started kissing each other, she starts to smile. Later, you showed her suit and then sketches of your new suits. She started to ask questions about the new suits.

Leap of faith
Summary: you didn't expect you'd be pulled into a verse where there is no Avenger, no Peter, and no Ned.
Pairing: Miles Morales x (half filo) Stark!reader
Warning: knife, cursing, cursing in tagalog, violence, mention of death.
Previous part
Tumblr media
It has been two days since you've been pulled by that strange portal. By some mysterious matter, Gwen and you somehow got into visions academy, an academy which you heard are only for the rich and intelligent kids. Vision Academy wasn't hard and it wasn't easy either but you could manage same goes for Gwen, she was rather exceptional herself.
When night falls you always find yourself feeling alone, sure Gwen was there but she is either sleeping or completely ignoring you. You miss home, you missed your dad, that's the only thing you and Gwen had in common, missing home.
You grabbed your suit deciding to sneak out, you looked at Gwen "wanna go for a swing?" You asked, she was burying her nose in a book "No, I feel tired" she lazily replied.
"Suit yourself, pinkie" You jump from your two-story building and shot a web on a building. You were too deep in your thoughts as you swing. Yesterday you went to visit Manhattan and found absolutely nothing. Manhattan looked so empty without the avenger tower.
There was a spider person like you in this verse but to your surprise, it was a guy, there was no explanation as to how any of this happened but since you got here you made it upon yourself to make some sort of device to get yourself home but it was quite complicated than you thought. The multiverse was somehow in shambles, you hoped that Dr. Strange finds a way to fix this while you were trying to go home.
You sat on a tower watching the city lights; you sat there for a while, thinking of something, anything other than this madness.
You got bored eventually and just decided to look around, your line of sight traveled to each civilian until it landed on a lady being mugged by someone.
"Okay! Need to get these pent-up feelings out!" You stretched your limp arms then you started to shoot your web to the next building.
"Woo! " You shouted, dodging a huge truck as you made your way to the crime "Help-- help me please!" The lady sounded so defeated her broken sobs were heard a mile away making you pick up your pace.
"Ain't it a bit rude, interrupting her well-deserved walk?" You spoke out of nowhere, making the culprit look up from his current position "Who are you!?" He shouted, quite terrified seeing a new sight other than their local hero.
"That's what they always say" You jump from a small building then you started to walk over to him "Never, 'oh! How are you amazing spider-woman?' you know what I mean? No?" You taunted.
"Stay where you are! Or else this bitch dies" he gruffly grabbed the woman's arm as he pointed the knife at her neck.
You gasp "Calling a woman 'bitch'? How would your mother feel if he saw you right now? Pushing you out of her vajayjay must've been a huge disappointment" You clicked your tongue in feigned disappointment.
"Oh well! There's nothing we could do about that" You shrugged. You swiftly shoot your web at the girl, successfully pulling her to you as she yelps at the process.
The culprit backed away dropping his knife and sprinting for his dear like "Hey! Where are your manners!" You shouted.
You were about to go after him but then a silhouette suddenly appeared in front of him catching him off guard, before he knew it he was already stuck on a wall, webs all over his body.
You saw Spiderman right there in front of you, he was talking to the culprit about something then his sight averted to you.
"Saw your little stunt, who are you?" He asked as he inch his way towards you "Ha? no no English." You tried to salvage this situation with your god-awful accent only to receive a laugh "No need to hide, heard you talking about pushing someone out of there-- you know how it goes" he winced.
The lady from earlier had already left after thanking you, so it was just the both of you plus the culprit who was on the wall "Who are you?" He asked again "tangina, papatayin ako ni Gwen nito" (fuck, Gwen is gonna kill me) you muttered. It didn't bother you much but Gwen, Oh dear.
Peter didn't understand a thing you just said, the only thing he caught was the name 'Gwen' "Whose Gwen?" He asked
"No one! It's nice doing business with you Mr. Daddy long legs!" Before you got time to swing your ass to Gwen he said something and you froze.
"I'm Peter, Peter Parker." The deafening silence made Peter uncomfortable a bit. In your verse Peter wasn't the Spiderman, instead, he had lived a pretty normal nerdy life and was your best friend who was obsessed with the star wars lore and Legos.
This Peter was much older than you, you can tell. Peter took off his mask and it completely left your mouth hanging open. Instead of luscious dark brown curly hair, he was blonde, and as you guess he was much much older than you.
"Is this what old age does to you!? Turn you blonde?!" You gestured your hands around him in exaggeration "Time has not been good to you, babes" Peter was offended for all he knows, he was perfect.
"She can talk.." he muttered. "No this isn't fair" he shook his head with a furrowed brow. "I don't know your name and your Identity" he sighs, looking at you expectedly "Oh! Right. Wait a minute, barbie"
"I'm pretty gorgeous so be warned" It feels like you were revealing yourself in a Roblox group chat with a bunch of kids that you and your Peter tried to prank. you pushed the nanotechnology spider logo on your suit and there reveals your face.
"Im--"
"Y/n!"
You didn't expect this...Peter, not your Peter, engulfed you in a tight hug, making you stumble back "O-okay.." you awkwardly said not knowing where to put your hands.
For what felt like minutes he started to sob "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" his breath was ragged if mistaken he'd have a panic attack "Dude, hey...what happened?" You finally asked.
Peter pulled away from you, as he wiped off his tears "I thought you...d-died" he had a hard time looking at you, guilt pooled in his eyes "whaaatt?" You dragged your word, still not processing his statement.
He chuckled softly but the pain is evidently still there "You're mistaken, Peter. I'm not from here, I just happen to stumble here"
"What?" He asked finally discarding his previous feeling "I was pulled by something close to a black hole, which terrified the hell out of me by the way" Peter paced around, still not meeting your gaze, afraid that if he did, he might cry again.
"Kingpin.." he muttered, he was thinking for a while then he finally looked up at you "Wait, how come you're here early? He didn't activate the machine yet" his voice was painted with confusion and a tinge bit of solemnity.
"Beats me, but that is a horrible name" You made a face of disgust while Peter smiled fondly, seemingly remembering something that includes you "You're still the same y/n, well except for the part where you spoke in a different language" that made you smile, although you have no idea what you're getting yourself into or who this exact copy of you is.
"Wanna grab a coffee or something?" You asked, as you ready yourself to swing "at this hour? Sure, why not" he put on his mask and with a last nod he took off swinging, you following behind him.
----
"You married Mj?!" You gaped at him, shaking his head as he took a bite of his burger "Yeah I did, she helped me a lot since... you know" he looked down at the city, he was trying to say something but he was having a hard getting it out; finally he let out a long sigh then he looked at you. "Y-you were too young when you died, Y/n. I couldn't forgive myself"
"Hey, it's not your fault. Even if it's not me I know she won't blame you either." You rub comfort on his back, you don't know a single thing about comforting.
Peter's usual demeanor came back after a few words of horrible comforting and encouragement, and you think he finally has the closure he deserves.
You told him everything about the verse you live in, from the Avengers to your Peter and your father.
"Wait, so this Captain America guy, is always on your 'ass' because you're being too unnecessarily loud?" He questioned "Yes! Good thing I can curse in my own language so he's got nothing on my ass... although he found out one day, didn't hear the end of it. My dad was a snitch" you muttered the last part.
Peter laughed "Your suit is awesome by the way," He asked "I made it!" You smugly said. Peter let out a huff in amusement. "You? You made it?" He said as if he didn't believe your statement but he knew full well that you were capable of making something like that.
You scoffed "Of course I did, I mean how couldn't I?" Peter rolled his eyes at you, he then averted his gaze back to the city. Hanging out with Peter made you miss your Peter more; Sure they were different in so many ways but they somehow share the same traits.
"I've got to go Peter" You sat up from your position, as Peter did the same following your action "See you around?" He asked, "Of course!" You outstretched your hand for a fistbump and he gladly reciprocated.
You both went your separate ways, as you continued to swing back to your dorm. The whole way there you were thinking about how you're gonna tell Gwen this but that didn't really register when you arrived back at your dorm.
Will you're not inside your dorm, more like outside banging the hell out of the window "Gwen! Open this window right now!" You shouted but not too loud, careful to not wake up your dorm neighbor "Hoy Gwen! Anak nang- open this right now Gwen!" (Hey Gwen! Son of a-- open this right now Gwen) You groaned.
Gwen wasn't asleep, you can clearly see the light from your shared bedroom. To no avail, you just decided to give up "tangina, mandaan moto Gwen!" (son of a bitch, mark this day Gwen!) You spoke lastly as you tried to find a window that can access the hall, you just hoped the security guard was asleep.
You found one "Take that Gwen!" You muttered. You already took off your mask and covered your suit with a jacket. You gently closed the window as carefully as you could to not cause some attention. You smiled to yourself "'Another night another slay and I served--" and you spoke too soon.
You felt someone crash into you but you didn't fall it just surprised you, but the person who bummed you did. Miles groaned as he tried to focus his vision, he swore a huge guy must've bummed into him but then he looked up.
"Oh"
"Are you okay, wait-- are you sneaking out?" You asked as you help him up "N-no" he stuttered. He regained his balance then he finally got a good look at you.
Your hair was disheveled and you got a bag forming under your eye but you still look good, at least that's what you think about yourself.
You hummed looking at him suspiciously "Right..." He looked anywhere, avoiding your observant eyes "I-- uh, I was trying to--" he rubbed his neck with his dominant hand while his other hand was gesturing around.
You laughed "Dude relax, I'm not gonna snitch on you-- unless you're trying to snitch on me" You feigned seriousness "No! I-I swear I will not!" He replied almost immediately.
"I'm just playing with you, but if you don't want to get caught, don't go this hall if you're trying to sneak out"
"Then why are you here?"
You pursed your lips and clicked your tongue "I- you-" Miles knitted his brow together, awaiting your reply. You let out a sigh.
"you know what? I think I'm gonna snitch on you" You narrowed your eyes at him. Miles laughed, his previous nervous demeanor decapitated and instead, he tried to cover it up with faux confidence.
"you can't do that now, can you? I'm Miles Morales." he smiled. He had that kind smile that can make you melt.
"You're new, right? I-- I'm actually new too" You noticed he was growing nervous. You nodded "I guess...I saw what your dad did earlier" you smirked, as he groaned in embarrassment.
"Please don't make me remember that," he said with an exaggerated sigh. The scene between Miles and his Dad brought a frown across your face, it awfully reminded you of your dad.
"Oh, I doubt that. That's gonna stick with you as long as I'm near" You started to walk as he followed after you.
"I never caught your name--"
"Probably because, I didn't throw it, Morales" you blatantly said. Miles rolled his eyes a growing smile made its way to his lips.
"I didn't mean it like that, and just call me by my first name, it's weird" You chuckled "Sure, Morales" Miles threw his head back laughing.
The pair of you blindly walked through the hall, forgetting about the curfew entirely "Aren't you going to sneak out?" You asked Miles.
Miles chuckled nervously "I was gonna, but I'm just too tired, you know?" Miles wanted to sneak out and talk to his uncle but he didn't want to miss this opportunity into making friends.
"Am I really that good to hang out with for you to miss your daily sneak-out sesh?" You smirked as you leaned in closer to him. Miles was tense he couldn't say a word, your breath was fanning onto him and he can basically smell your perfume.
Suddenly a whistle echoed at the end of the hall making both of you turn your head to the source "Isn't it a bit too early to shag your classmate!" The guard shouted. "you'll both face deep consequences about this!"
"Run." You whispered into his ears, and Miles swore he could feel goosebumps. Before he even got time to process his dilemma, you grabbed his arms without warning, and god you were strong.
"Isn't it a bit too early to listen to the exclusive spider man Christmas song?!" You shouted with a laugh. Miles who heard your statement snorted and let out a bark of laughter.
"I didn't know you had such great taste in music!" Miles counter back and laughed. He peeked from his shoulder to see the guard who was running after the both of you; the way the guard ran made Miles laugh even harder his stomach hurting.
You looked back seeing the same thing and just like Miles it had you crackling. To say the guard wasn't flustered was an understatement, that enough made him determined to catch you both. Both of your laughter was so loud some of the students came out of their dorms and that alone distracted the guard from chasing after the both of you.
It took you a while to find a safe place to finally get peace. Mile was out of breath, he was panting like a dog; with laughter mixed with a full lap run, who wouldn't?
"you look dehydrated," you said out of amusement.
"Really? I didn't think it was that obvious" he remarked between ragged breath.
You sat down, him sitting down next to you, he was still out of breath "Why are you so unaffected-- I mean like, you basically ran through the whole school" You side glance at him "Mama mo blue." (Your mom is blue) that was so out of pocket even for Miles. Honestly, you didn't feel like talking, you loved Mile's company but you were just too tired, everything was just so overwhelming.
"No she's not, bet yours is" That made you chuckle, Miles understanding parts of your Filipino jokes brought you smiling wider.
"My mom is dead." You laughed seeing Mile's color drained from his face "I'm so sorry--" he was genuinely trying to apologize but he burst out laughing making you laugh harder.
"I'm serious though-- I'm sorry" his laughter subsided, replacing it with a sympathetic look "No need, Miles. It was a long time ago" You smiled reassuringly at him.
Miles grinned, looking mischievously at you "What?" You asked "You called me by my first name" he wiggled his brows "Oh fuck off, dude" You punched his shoulder gently but he still made a sound.
You felt your phone buzz, averting your attention to your phone. Miles watched your smile turn into an annoyed frown as you saw the text on your phone.
"where are you?" you mocked in a high-toned voice. Miles let out a huff of amusement watching you "Now she's worried when she was the one who locked me out!" You complained.
"Roommate?" Miles asked feeling quite the same as you. You hummed.
"my roommate is always on his computer 24/7 sometimes I can hardly sleep at all," he said still looking your way. "Will, let's just say my roommate likes to play pranks with me" you muttered.
"Didn't it cross your mind that maybe she does that because...you always start it"
You scoffed "Strong accusation, but fair point-- and I need to go, she's spamming me" You stand up from your position as Miles frowned.
"You still didn't tell me your name," he said while standing up. You narrowed your eyes, surely you won't tell him your name but you thought of a cool nickname to piss Gwen off.
"Gwendolyn Garcia" you held back a laugh, pursing your lips to conceal it. "Will see you around, Gwendolyn" he enthusiastically said.
"Copy that" Hearing that made Miles groaned loudly and you throw your head back laughing. You both went your separate ways with the previous event still in mind. Miles for sure will cherish the night. You in the other hand still can't sleep.

Leonardo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)- Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Reincarnation was something of a myth.
Even in the future where technology ruled, no one thought twice about something so irrational. Unattainable. You remembered reading scripts where men would sacrifice anything for a chance of existing forever. The burden you carried with you from birth was a gift in the eyes of so many
“Think you’re so cool with the whole mysterious girl crap going on. Let me tell you the next time you sit with John I’ll-”
The fist connecting with her face was the only response she received. When the blond girl’s body hit the floor, her entourage took a step back in horror. You didn’t even flinch. Massaging your knuckles.
“Trash.”
Detention it is.
“I hope you learn that there are consequences to your actions. “
The teacher slammed the door, and the students in the room went about as if nothing happened. The laughter and cell phones dinging seemed to echo. When a chair pulled up to your side, the teen sat down. You expected some nuisance, but he looked more nervous than anything.
“Hey, sorry I know you would much rather sit by yourself. Seeing as I am the nerd here I figured you were the safest bet.” Your eyes scanned the male. You recognized him. Brown hair, brown eyes. Glasses, young, intelligent.
“Peter Parker. Spiderman.”
Your mind did a mental download.
“You’re okay.” You spoke.
That comment seemed to calm him down.
“I’m Peter Parker.”
He held out his hand, and you shook it.
“(Y/N), nice to meet you.”
Detention wasn’t the worst thing to happen.
You knew once you got home you would have to explain to your parents why you were once again being punished for starting a fight. Technically that banshee started it. But life really never worked in your favor. So what’s to say it would this time either.
To delay the inevitable, you figured you might as well make your punishment this time worthwhile. Tightening the strap on your backpack, you headed for the subway. There was a perfect spot where you could enjoy the peace of being alone. No stupidly oblivious teens, or unhelpful teachers to bother you.
Bodies jumbled as you made your way through the streets. Your desired destination was on the other side of town. Even when the sun began to go down, your eyes stayed trained ahead. It’s only when you turn a corner that you hear a scream. There’s a woman ahead, surrounded by two men. From the looks of it they are after her bag. That only stops when they spot you ahead. One of them is holding a knife.
“Beat it!”
He screams.
The woman turns to you with pleading eyes, and you turn around, heading in the opposite direction.
“HELP ME PLEASE!!”
You clench your fist, but keep walking forward. You only stop when you hear the grunts in the background. The woman releases another scream, running right past you with incredible speed. Especially for someone in heels. Your eyes drift back to the men that are now lying on the floor groaning. You can hear the sirens in the background, no doubt the cavalry has been called.
“Coward.”
It’s a hiss from the darkness.
“Raph let it go!” Another voice cuts in. You straighten, just barely making out the two figures covered by the shadows.
“Ya really was just gonna let her get mugged!!” He sounds furious.
“I don’t remember signing a contract to risk my life for strangers.”
Your response pisses him off, and before you know it a giant green being walks out. Red bandana, green eyes. Two sais in his hand and a scar very prominent on his face.
“We can’t all be vigilantes, Rapheal.” You say.
He stops, and another moves forward.
Raph is stunned.
“You know who he is...” His brother states.
“Better get moving before the cops show up Leonardo. It would be bad if they found out about your brothers.”
You don’t say much more. Leonardo’s expression hardens and he grabs Raph’s.
“We need to go.”
This is possibly the first time that Raph gives little resistance, because now they are both concerned. That sounds alarmingly like a threat. They don’t stick around to find out, and when you hear the sirens get closer, you take off.
The boys watch you from above, and Leonardo clenches his jaw.
~~~
“Have a good day.” Your mother calls.
You nod at her. It’s a bit tentative. Both your parents share that look. The one concern that they’ve worn ever since the doctors assured them that your advanced level of development at such a young age was nothing to worry about. That was the issue with dying at a young age and being constantly reincarnated into an infant’s body every time. They’re scared. Whether it be for your future or your present, you wouldn’t know.
You try not to think about it, adjusting the bag on your back as you make your way to another tedious day of school. Maybe this week you can get through without a fight. One can hope. You would think your temper would be better seeing as you’ve lived so many lives. Your head turns at the honking and you curse. The yellow bus takes off and you grumble.
“Damn it.”
This is the fourth time you’ve zoned out and missed the bus.
You start running, heading for the shortcut that you have memorized. Sliding past the back of the building, you dodge dumpsters and other obstacles. When you get through a more secluded area, you move to exit that spot. Something yanks you backward, and you let out a yelp of surprise. Your mouth is covered, and your eyes move to the green hand that has covered your mouth.
“During the day..”
This isn’t normal. They never operated in broad daylight.
“You’re going to tell me who you are and how you know about my brothers.”
You aren’t given a chance to respond, his body seems to propel into the air. He’s going up, taking you with him. When you get to a certain height, he lands on a roof, releasing you. Taking some much needed steps back, you try to create distance. Leonardo draws his blades.
“Who are you, what do you want with my family!!”
He looks enraged, and you raise your hands. You were reckless. You’d taken for granted that he was a hero, but above all else, family was important to him.
“I’m not some psycho after your family, okay!!”
You drop to your knees, lifting your hands. He briefly sees a flash of golden light in your orbs.
Leo stops.
You squint, cursing for letting your guard down.
“Who are you?”
He hasn’t sheathed his weapons, but he doesn’t look like he’s going to chop your head off.
A good sign.
“If I told you, you wouldn’t believe me.”
“Try me.”
His tone sounds anything but pleased.
“I’m..” you swallow.
You’ve never had to disclose who you are to anyone. Not even your parents are aware.
“I’m…a reincarnation..”
Silence follows. Leonardo’s hand tightens on his blades.
“Are you trying to be funny?”
“I swear to you I’m telling the truth. I-I know it sounds crazy trust me. There’s nothing more messed up than dying at sixteen and coming back ten times. I wish I was making this up. Trust me."
Leonardo studies you. In a way you can tell he’s making his own assessment.
“If that’s true, then that woman last night, you knew she was about to get mugged. Since you’re reincarnated you’ve lived this life before. "
Sighing, you lower your hands. The shift in your expression is not something Leo missed.
“That’s not how this works. I don’t control where I end up.” Quite frankly you’re shocked he even believes a word you’re saying.
“I’ve been to the past, present and future. It's never the same place. The knowledge that I gain are from general events. I know about April O'Neil because she has ancestors who were very much like her. Curious, persuasive, Willful. The vigilantes from reports that I’ve seen, it wasn’t hard to put the pieces together. You and your brothers were the product of a failed lab experiment when she was a child. She lost her father to the fire. Tossed you five into a drain.” You slowly rise to your feet.
“You aren’t the only heroes in this city, or this world.” Leo finally lowers his sword.
“Why didn’t you help her?”
Your brows furrow.
“With all you know, you could have helped that woman. But you turned, you just walked away. “
This was not a question you wanted to answer.
“I’m not some hero.”
“It’s called being a decent human being.”
That statement angers you.
“DON’T YOU LECTURE ME ABOUT BEING A DECENT HUMAN BEING!”
Your outburst catched him by surprise. The glow returns in your eyes and your teeth are clenched. You turn you head, agitated. When he sees the tear run down your cheek, he feels a bit guilty. You wipe it swiftly in hopes that it wasn’t seen.
“You have no idea what I’ve been through. You think humans were cruel in the past or even the present. The future does not get any better. Even with all that we’ve accomplished, all the progress that we’ve made. People are still nothing but selfish. You’re risking your life, your family for a losing battle."
You turn your back to him.
“The human race is despicable. You of all people should know that first hand.”
Leo isn’t sure how to refute that. Yes, there were terrible people out there. But there was still a lot of good. That’s what he fought for. What they all did. To see another person lose complete faith in their own race was..heartbreaking.
“I’m already fifteen. One more year and I’ll be gone. I’ll start this entire cycle over. It can’t come soon enough.”
You eye the ledge, and Leo sheaths his blades slowly. Now he’s concerned for a different reason. When he sees you moving closer to it, he panics.
“Hey don’t!!”
He grabs your hand and you jolt. Turning you stare at him.
“You don’t have to choose this way out. You may not believe it but life matters, your life matters. Every life matters!”
His words somehow pierce you. It’s not like you were planning to jump off the balcony.
That would be painful.
“You really think so. I left that woman. I could have cared less what happened. “ He still holds your wrist.
“I don’t believe that.”
“Why is that?”
“Because if you were truly a bad person surely you would not spend it living such a regular life. You’ve lived multiple lives right. You could have easily manipulated that to your advantage, But you’re here, attending a high school from the looks of it. I think you’re still looking for someone to change your opinion. You want someone to change your perspective. “
“What is with him..”
There was a lot you knew about the boys, but that was what you’d read in comics of the future. Fables almost. You never thought you’d actually meet one. Much less have him convince you of the goodness in humanity. Just a few minutes ago he was interrogating you like you were his worst enemy.
“This could all be a trick. What if I’m lying to you and I am some psycho.”
“You wouldn’t be a very good one if you’re telling me of your plan."
He’s naive, or maybe just holds too much faith in others.
“It’s not like I can go around telling people I know big green turtles.”
He loosens his hold with a slight smile.
“That sounds a little crazy, don’t you think?”
Now he’s teasing you.
“Whatever.”
You turn your head, because it’s clear you’ve already lost this battle.
“Since you basically kidnapped me, I’m gonna need a ride to school.”
“I think I can do that.”
You’re about to tell him that you’re kidding. The last thing you need is being spotted with a mutant at your school. He picks you up and you squeak, clutching at his shoulder.
“W-What are you doing!!”
“Getting you to school, hold on.”
He doesn’t wait for a response, just takes off.
For the first time, you’re not sure how this will play out, and you aren’t even worried.
New York City was quite a place, tall buildings, bustling people, the ever loud honking of cars and pedestrians yelling. Not to mention the people who dressed in random costumes and hung around Times Square.
Needless to say, New York was rather weird. But it was home now, you had lived in New York for five years. Before moving to New York you lived in the middle of no where, North Carolina. It was beautiful as everything living there, and at night you were able to see the stars through the trees.
You loved New York of course, but it would never beat the shinning stars. Because of all the light pollution you aren’t able to see them. The lights from all the buildings, billboards- you name it, shine too bright during the night. Causing the stars to never be able to show.
It wasn’t a secret that you missed being able to see stars, you talked about missing the stars a little too much. It was an odd thing to hear someone say that they missed, usually when someone says they missed an old hometown it was usually missing friends or the house. Not the stars.
I mean you did miss living in North Carolina, that was where you grew up so you would forever miss it. You promised your boyfriend, Peter that you would take him to North Carolina one day. You wanted to show him where you grew up and also the stars.
Did I mention you loved the stars??
Anyways.
The night was settling over the city, the night owl people coming out of their buildings to prowl the city and do goodness knows what. You were hanging out on the fire escape, a mug of hot chocolate warming your hands as you people watched. Christmas was coming rather soon so the air was cold, you giggled to yourself as you watched the people all bundled up, seeming to waddle on the sidewalk like penguins.
Soon enough a smiled etched its way onto your face as you notice a person dressed in a costume swinging across the buildings and sky with perfect agility.
Spiderman, or Peter Parker, or your lovely boyfriend.
It didn’t take long for him to land softly on your fire escape, even with his mask on you knew he was beaming from ear to ear. He looked around to make sure no one else was out on their balconies or fire escapes before he pulled his mask off. His hair was stuck up in all directions causing you to let out a quiet laugh, placing your mug on the windowsill before you leaned over to run your fingers through his hair to try and fix it. But his hair was still a little messy, but that was okay.
After you ran your fingers through his hair he was gently cradling you face in his hands and pressing a loving kiss to your lips. You couldn’t help but hum into the kiss, causing him to smile against your lips. Once the need for air was present you two were pulling away, although neither of you wanted to stop.
“Hi,” Peter couldn’t help but laugh his phrase out, causing you to smile brightly at him. “Hello.”
The two of you stared at one another in silence, it wasn’t awkward or weird, just taking one another in. He broke the silence by pressing a kiss to your cheek, which in turn caused you to let out a small laugh. “I have a surprise for you.” He said softly, which caused your brows to furrow in ever so slightly. You tilted your head to the side with a hum, “a surprise?” You questioned, starting to smile.
He nodded his head with a wide smile, placing his hands on your hips as he pulled you close to his suit clad body. “Yes, a surprise.” Peter replied, letting his left hand trail up to push some of your hair away from your face. You arched a brow at that, “And where might this ‘surprise’ be located?” you asked him, placing your hands on his chest. He soon was placing his mask back on his face, you watched him in confusion.
In a flash you were hanging onto Peter for dear life as he swung through New York. You had your arms around his neck and legs wrapped securely around his slim waist. Your hair was whipping through the cold wind, you had to hide your face against his shoulder to stop the biting of the bitter cold
It didn’t take long to get back to Peter’s apartment. He recently moved out of Aunt May’s apartment so he could be closer to his collage and you still lived at home with your mom. But she was typically out on business trips and your dad lived all the way in Utah. So needless to say you more often than not had the apartment to yourself.
Peter had landed you both onto his fire escape, he usually left his window unlocked so he didn’t have to always change in the alleyway before heading into his apartment. Peter let you climb into the building first, he always let you go in first for two reason.
Reason one was because he was a gentleman.
Reason two was so he could look at your bottom.
The fire escape was attached to his bedroom, once you both were inside he shut the window and locked the latch. With a sigh you plopped back onto his bed, wiggling your toes that were sock clad. Peter laughed at the sight before be spoke. “Close your eyes so I can change!” Peter soon gasped out, causing you to sit up in the bed, “No I wanna watch!” You shot back, scooting down the bed and placing your chin in your hands.
“Give me a show, man spider!” You laughed out happily. Peter only rolled his eyes at you, “At least play some smooth jazz or careless whispers.” He bargained with you, causing your laughter to continue with a shake of your head.
After a moment you start to sing the instrumentals of carless whispers, causing Peter to burst into laughter before he playfully strips himself of his suit leaving him in his boxers. Once the suit is off you let out a whistle, causing the male to blush from his chest to the tips of his ears and all between.
You watch as he throws on a t-shirt and some sweat pants, a content smile on your face. Soon he is fully dressed and leaning down to press a kiss to your lips. “You ready for your surprise?” He questioned you, standing up fully.
“You mean that wasn’t my surprise?” You joke, standing up. Once you are stood up  you gently poke at his stomach. He swats at your hand, rolling his eyes. “You are a heathen, you know that?” He questioned you, which caused you to giggle and shrug. “Okay, I’m going to cover your eyes and walk you to the surprise.”
With a hum in response you found yourself with your back to his chest, He used his left hand to cover your eyes as he lead you forward. You heard his bedroom door open before you two walked through. Once you stepped out you heard the faint sounds of crickets, which caused your brows to furrow behind Peter’s hand. You felt him chuckle against your back, “I can feel your brows scrunched.”
Soon enough you both had stopped walking, Peter kept his hand against your eyes. “Okay, are you ready?” He asked you softly, you bit your lip before you nodded your head.
His hand moved from your face, you blinked a few times to focus your eyes. Once they were in focus your mouth fell open. You stood in the middle of Peter’s small living room, all the furniture was pushed away to leave the middle of the room empty. A bundle of blankets and pillows were scattered around the floor. Peter’s phone was hooked up to a speaker as it played night time nature sounds.
The lights were dimmed to almost nothing, but there were no lamps or lights in sight. With furrowed brows you looked up at the ceiling, and the sight made your heart swell.
Scattered across the white popcorn ceiling was a life like projection of the night time stars. Your once agape mouth turned into a wide smile, whipping your head to look over at Peter who wore a sheepish smile and rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
“I know its not the real thing, but Mr. Stark helped me create a projection of the stars. I didn’t like how fake all the ones on amazon looked, so he helped a little with some of the stuff.” Peter ranted before trailing off, once he finished speaking you threw your arms over his shoulders and smashed your lips against his in a kiss. Pulling away with the never faltering smile.
“Peter! This is beautiful, thank you.” You wanted to cry, this was such a thoughtful gift and one of the bests you have ever received. “Are we gonna lay on the blankets and watch the stars?” You nearly squealed out, bouncing on your heels as you basically hung onto the male.
He let out a laugh as he nodded his head, letting his arms wrap around your hips. “That was the plan.”
And so that is what you two did. You both laid on the floor, the blankets and pillows were thick but still the cold air seeped in and chilled you two ever so slightly.
But that was okay, you were happy with Peter and the stars.
Emotional Support Mode
Pairings: Tony Stark x daughter!reader
Summary:
in which the reader is the loner, antisocial daughter of Tony Stark and the other Avengers including her father never acknowledge her presence (they thought some sort of interaction made you uncomfortable) so she becomes friends with Friday instead - Tony probs finds out and it’s gonna be all cute n fluffie once he realizes -
Word count: 2,243
a/n: hi just wanted to write fluffy tony :)) also I used they/them for friday’s pronouns
Warnings: angst n fluff, friday’s a bit more advanced (not like they aren’t already but) bc they could almost act like a literal human here.
read it on ao3!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You arrive back at the Avengers facility, shoulders slumped and just tired in general since you have a lot of homework and projects to do from school, most of them due by the end of the week. You also have exams later in the week.
“Hey, Fri,” you huff as you make your way to the elevator.
“Welcome home, Y/N. Where do you want to go?”
Yes, you're very close with the A.I that they started calling you by your first name. “To my room - and uh, will you remind me to read two chapters in my history book after I’m done with all my homework? I also have this project, I just need some measurements later, if you don’t mind.”
“Sure thing.”
“Thank you.”
It’s going to be a long night, you sigh heavily just thinking about it. Now you’re probably wondering, ‘you live with the Avengers! Why don’t you ask Tony and Bruce for help? Maybe Steve and Bucky for your History test?’
Yeah, well... you barely talk to any real person you live with. Maybe it’s you, you always thought you're making the team uncomfortable. You don’t even talk to your own father often which is kind of depressing on your part.
You love them, they’re like your extended family, but it just isn’t working out. Maybe they just don’t like you. Up to this day you still wonder why Tony took you in when you were just a baby (you were a mistake from one of his one night stands) - he had the choice not to.
“I’m assuming you zoned out again. You have arrived to your room five minutes ago.” Friday announces.
“Y-yeah sorry,” you shuffle out of the elevator and swiftly head to your bedroom, closing the door behind you.
“I also asked if I should inform Mr. Stark that you have arrived home.”
“No, no thanks. He’s busy and... probably wouldn’t care anyway,” You mutter the last part as you pile the books you need on your desk. “Can you put my study playlist on, please?”
----
“What time is it, Friday?”
“7PM. I was about to remind you to take a break.”
You get up from your chair and stretch, halfway through the last of your homework which is a two page essay. “You’re too kind, thanks pal,” when you walk out your room to head to the kitchen and grab a snack, the lounge is empty, kitchen empty,
“The team’s on a mission? I thought they had the whole week off,” you say before gulping down a water bottle.
“I checked the security footage: they left about an hour ago. Captain Rogers was talking about getting dinner.”
You put the bottle down. “Oh,” you try to mask your disappointment. This isn’t your first time being alone, they always left you here when they had a mission of course but... well, it’s not like they want you around them. “I’ll - I’ll just make myself something later, then. Not a big deal. I have to study anyway.”
Another hour later, the Avengers are back. They're all conversing happily as they pile in the lounge. Peter's rambling about upgrades for the Spiderman suit while Tony's typing away in his phone, nodding at everything he says. Everyone else is arguing about the TV channels and talking about the new restaurant they ate at.
Rhodey shifts, looking around. “Why do I feel like we forgot something?”
Natasha looks at him, waiting for him to go on.
“I assure you, I brought Mjolnir with me this time.” Thor butts in.
“No not that, what time does Y/N get home from school?” No one answers. It’s not like any of them know. It's natural that Rhodey would be worried about his goddaughter (even if they rarely talk). He turns his head to his best friend who’s now walking away with Peter, an arm around his shoulder. “Tony, where’s Y/N?”
He doesn’t hear since he has his full attention on his protégé.
“I’ll start making this tomorrow, I guess. I still have to buy materials.” You mumble to yourself, but you hope Friday's listening to everything you say just to make you feel less lonely. You swipe the hologram of the blueprint away and place the thick books in front of you.
“I would like to recommend a suitable study plan.” they state.
You rub your eyes, sighing, “I’m already halfway, I would’ve considered it earlier though.”
“This is only a recommendation, feel free to ignore it.”
You push yourself away from the desk and mutter a “go on,”, fiddling with your pen.
“Asking Mr. Rogers and Mr. Barnes would give you more details for your History examination, since the pair were originally from that time period. The same goes for Mr. Banner for your Science examination, I believe he has seven Ph.D’s, you may also approach Vision for the same topic. Mr. Stark has all the necessary materials for your project in his lab. Would you like me to-”
If only it were that easy. It should be easy, the thought alone makes you really nervous. “No, I - I appreciate the recommendation, Friday, but - I think I can do this on my own.”
“But you’re tired and it is almost midnight. I would help you myself but you specifically told me not to.”
They’re not wrong. Your eyes are starting to droop and you barely understand anything you're reading. You're also fighting back tears - why is talking to your family so hard?
“I can sense sadness. Would you like me to activate emotional support mode?”
“Yeah, okay. That sounds great right about now.”
----
“Crap. Guess we lost track of time again, kid,” Tony wipes his hands with a rag while he looks at the time on his computer. “You better get home. I’ll send May a text for keeping you this late.”
“Okay, thank you Mr. Stark. I’m just gonna use my suit-”
“No. Happy will drive you.”
Peter knew better than to argue and insist so he just nods and smiles sheepishly. A minute later Happy came ‘round to take him home.
Tony turns back around. “Friday, make a new project for me please, I’m adding minor upgrades to the Spiderman suit.”
“Not now, boss.”
Oh. He did not expect that. “Excuse me?”
“Y/N is currently opening up. I would like to give her my full, undivided attention. Please come back after fifteen minutes or so.”
Tony doesn’t exactly know how to feel about that. He never sees her outside her room anymore that he kinda forgot she existed tonight - oh fuck, they didn’t bring her to dinner with them.
“Well,” he exhales. “What is she saying?”
“That would be an invasion of privacy.”
“I’m her father-”
“Are you, sir?” Friday’s clever remark makes him stop abruptly.
It’s pretty clear that he’s been a shit father. Not only does he ignore you all the time but he treats Peter way better than his own flesh and blood. The Avengers on the other hand, they were nice people, but just didn’t understand so they try their best to get out of your way.
You were afraid of rejection, afraid to interact, because you had no idea what everyone thought of you. Did they like you? Did you make them uncomfortable? Did they want you around? What about Tony, did he really want a daughter in his life? Because you noticed he’d be better off with a son, yeah, like Peter goddamn Parker.
Tony sighs, walking out of his lab and heads to the mini bar to grab a drink. He needs to think: there's absolutely nothing wrong about you, he just didn’t do his job right, you thought he didn’t care, you thought nobody did. Even Friday is turning against him, doing a better job of comforting and being there for you.
“God, I’m such an asshole,” he mutters to himself, rubbing his forehead. He drinks his last shot and heads to the kitchen. “She still awake?” He calls out.
“She is.” Friday has a bitter tone.
He's hesitant to ask again, feeling really bad for not knowing this simple question - “what’s her favorite beverage?”
----
“How do you feel?”
You sniffle. “Well y’know, better than before. I should probably go to sleep. Thanks, Fri.”
“You’re welcome. Also, Mr. Stark is outside your door.”
“W-what?” You put away your books and straighten up, rubbing your damp eyes. “You’re serious? Okay, uh, let him in?” It's more of a question.
“Alright.”
You turn to face your desk as Tony enters the room, holding two steaming mugs. He sits at the end of your bed, just right next to the chair you're sitting on. “Hi,” he gives you a small smile and hands you a mug.
What’s the occasion?
“What’s this?” You ask quietly before taking the mug from his hands. Tony's being gentle and soft, it's odd but you’re not complaining.
Tumblr media
“Green tea with honey. I... I thought I saw you make that stuff once.” He says, not mentioning the fact that Friday told him that.
“Oh, well, yeah,” you take a small sip. He added a bit too much honey but other than that it was good. “I thought you preferred coffee, though,”
Tony shrugs, his eyes glistening when he looks at you. “Wouldn’t hurt to try something new.”
“Did - did you want something, Dad?” You always found yourself awkward, couldn’t even make conversation with someone for long, always wanted to get straight to the point so it could be over with.
He looks like he wants to say something but he just averts his gaze to you, his hands, the floor, then suddenly he leans in and hugs you. Your feel your heart swell and body warm up, it’s a new sensation for you after all, you rarely get hugs from people. “I’m sorry,” he whispers. “For everything. I’m such a bad dad, I don’t deserve you. I even forgot you when we went out to dinner.”
“You don’t have to be sorry for anything. I had loads of stuff to do earlier anyway, so, but yeah I was just - I just overreact, I’m sensitive. I don’t blame you and the others for not liking me, I know there’s nothing like-able about me, I’m not like Peter-” You ramble, tears now leaving your eyes again.
“Sweetheart, don’t say that,” Tony says as he pulls you closer to him, head resting against his chest while he rubs your back comfortably. “Y/N Stark, you are smart, brilliant - I was just an ass for not acknowledging that.”
“I know you’re just saying that to-”
“Oh, but I’m not,” he now places his hands on your shoulders, getting you to look at him. “Tell me who built their first engine when they were eight?”
You blush, “Dad-”
“No, come on, I wanna hear it.”
“I did.”
“Yes you did. And who made a completely functioning robot at their middle school science fair that blew all the teacher’s minds?”
You’re trying to hide a smile, recalling the memory,  “I did.”
“And who,” Tony gets up and walks to the bulky looking thing that you covered with a sheet, pulling it off, “is currently building a computer from scratch?”
“Dad! That’s still a work in progress,” he messily places the sheet back and chuckles.
“My point is, you’re a clever and talented girl, Y/N. Don’t bring yourself down. And you don’t have to be shy around your family, those idiots have been dying to get to know you but since you don’t talk much... they don’t want to force it. We love you,” he says. “I hope you forgive me ‘cause I really wanna make it up to you. I’m not calling Peter in for a few weeks.” Tony sits down beside you again.
You couldn’t believe he’d do that for you. “You don’t have to, if you need him for something then-”
“-then you could help me instead, if you’re up for it.”
“I’m really sorry for being such a lonely freak,” you yawn, getting back into Tony’s open arms. “I love you.”
Tony tucks you in and lies down beside you, “I love you tons, kiddo.”
You snuggle into his chest, feeling his steady breathing while he rests his chin above your head.
----
It's morning. The Avengers are gathered at your open bedroom door.
“Are you getting all of this, Friday?”
“Yes, Ms. Romanoff.”
“Steve turn that shuttering sound down!” Natasha hisses at the super soldier who's doing his task, taking pictures.
Steve almost drops the phone and has Bruce fix the volume for him.
They’re all watching you and Tony cuddle together, still fast asleep.
“Do we have to stay here until they wake up?”
“Unless you have a great way of waking them up, yes. Now shut up.”
“If you think about it we definitely look creepy right now.” Sam comments.
“It’s their fault for having the door wide open all night!” Clint says.
Tony's actually awake the whole time, listening to them bickering. “You have three seconds to get the hell out of here before I make all of you polish my suits.” With that, the team races down the hall, pushing each other to get away first like literal children.
Dangers Of The Job (Peter Parker X Male!Reader)
Characters: Peter Parker X Male!Reader
Universe: Marvel, Avengers, Spiderman
Warnings:Arguing Fighting, mugging, injury, swearing
Request: Could you do a male reader x peter Parker where they get into a heated argument about peter’s hero activities? They don’t talk for days until mreader gets mugged/hurt and peter saves the day and they fluff it out?
Tumblr media
You were on day 3 of no contact with Peter since your argument, and it sucked. You knew it was childish to not talk to each other and to not address how you two were feeling, but that argument was so heated you dreaded talking to him again, knowing you’d have to discuss it further.
The argument was about him being Spiderman. You’d known since you started dating, Peter not wanting to sneak around you and fill you with paranoia that he was being unfaithful, which you were thankful for. But now you had a different kind of paranoia- the fear of him not coming home, the last time you said goodbye to him actually being the last time, finding out he was dead on the news. You didn’t expect him to just stop, knowing that without him, a lot of people would be dead and crime would be rampant. But you wanted him safe. You told him about your fears and he’d said that was just what came with being Spiderman. From there voices quickly raised and you both became stubborn.
You knew you had a right to be upset. All you wanted was for him to be more cautious, be more careful, and to not push himself as hard as he does, but Peter was convinced he had to throw caution to the wind to save people, and you remember explicitly saying “You can’t save people if you get yourself killed” and that’s when it really kicked off. Still, you felt bad. You knew how much Spiderman meant to him, but you knew that you still had a point.
You were trying to think about how to sort this mess out- you didn’t want to lose Peter over this- as you walked home, walking at a leisurely pace, almost in a trance. People bumped shoulders with you as you walked and yet you didn’t react. It’s probably why you didn’t react at first when something poked up in the middle of your back. It was only when you heard him speak did you snap out of it and realise the thing poking you was still there and pressed against your back. “Go into the next alley and drop your bag or I’ll make sure you never walk again.” You straightened up, and you looked around, spotting the next alley coming up and took a gulp, but followed his instructions.
You went into the empty alley, dropping your backpack onto the floor and pressed yourself against the wall with your hands up as the guy started searching through it for anything he wanted. However, you were on your way home from school- the only thing in there was books, homework, a pencil case and a wallet with only a few dollars in it, and that just seemed to piss the guy off as he stood up, pointing his knife at your throat. “I don’t have anything, I’m sorry.” You rushed to apologise, hoping he’d just accept the failure and run off, but then he took a swing at you, your head hitting the wall behind you and you fell to the floor, holding your face.
“Take your fucking coat off. Give me what’s in your pockets!” He was yelling now, and you were wondering if someone had heard him, but you didn’t want to wait and see, and started to take off your coat as best as you could, and you knew if the guy got your phone, you couldn’t call for help afterwards, and he might do some actual damage to you.
You only had one sleeve to get off when the mugging was interrupted. Something dropped from above, landing on the man and knocking him to the floor, and you flinched at it, before you looked at what had happened, and realised that the something was actually someone, and that someone was Spiderman. Your boyfriend. Peter didn’t say anything, using his webbing to seal the man’s lips and stick him to the floor. Despite not having to fight or anything, Peter was taking deep breaths, staring down at the man who looked rather scared. You remained where you were, waiting to see what was going to happen. You didn’t know what to say- you wanted to call his name to get his attention but you knew you couldn’t, so you waited for him to gather his thoughts, grabbing your bag, putting your things back in, zipping it up before turning to you. You started getting yourself up, using the wall for assistance and Peter fixed your jacket for you. “You okay?” He said, his voice in a whisper, and you nodded. “Come on, let’s get you out of here.”
Peter got you home to your apartment, stopping on the fire escape, and then he finally broke, just hugging you tightly. “I’m sorry. I’ve been thinking about what you said- I didn’t understand. But seeing you hurt… I get it now. I get why it scares you to see me like that, I’m sorry. I promise, I’ll be more careful.” Peter blurted, his voice slightly shaky and scratchy, on the brink of tears. You hugged him back just as tightly.
“I’m sorry too. I don’t like fighting with you, and I get why you want to jump in as soon as possible… if you hadn't been there…” You also apologised, and Peter’s grip tightened on you when you hinted at what could have happened. “Are we good?” You asked, and Peter chuckled, pulling away to kiss you.
Hope you like it! If you have any questions, please send them in!
New Amsterdam Chapter 71
Wade ran across a roof, leaped into the air, and tried to hook another roof with his grappling hook in order to swing like Spiderman did. The hook landed wrong and fell off the building, fortunately catching on the fire escape instead making the merc attached land, face-first, into the brick of the building. Wade pushed himself away from the brick and, after a quick glance to see that no one could see him, lifted his mask to spit blood out of his mouth. “That could’ve gone better,” he grunted.
[I’m beginning to think the author hates us.]
{No! Oh, look! Something plot related.}
[This was a stupid way for us to find it.]
“No argument there,” muttered Wade as he lurched over to the jackass trying to mug a woman.
“Stop!” screeched the woman as she tried to yank her purse away from the skinny-clearly-a-junkie man.
Wade calmly walked up and rapped the man’s scull with the hilt of a knife sending him dropping to the ground. “Okay,” he said cheerfully. “At some point someone's gotta say, ‘nah, that shortcut down a dark, secluded alley that just screams it’s riddled with people who want to hurt me isn’t worth it’.”
“I wasn’t taking a shortcut, jackass,” snarled the woman as she rifled through her purse. Actually, it wasn’t a purse. It was one of those briefcase things that looked like a purse. “Good,” she said firmly. “My research is still here.”
Wade knew he shouldn't ask. He couldn't stop himself. “If it’s not a shortcut,” he asked, “why did you go down the dark alley?”
“I was being chased.” The woman slung the bag over her shoulder, crossing her chest to make it harder to grab. “Fucking Oscorp,” she muttered.
“Oh, a potty mouth!” said Deadpool cheerfully. “How about this; I’ll walk you home, and keep you safe from any more people trying to jump you.”
She paused and looked at him. “All right. Thank you, Deadpool.” As they walked through the alley she asked, “How’s Peter?”
“Much better. We got a line on the fucker that wants him dead,” Deadpool answered cheerfully. “I’ll be seeing her happy ass in the morning.”
“Huh.” The woman adjusted her glasses, in the same strange way that Peter did. “Well, I hope he comes back to work soon. I want to show him the results on that matrix solution he whipped up.”
{I think this is going to be boring.}
[I think it’s going to be important.]
“What are they?” asked Wade as they turned down a street. A man, an office worker clearly trying to look like a homeless person, started to approach, but changed his mind as he saw who was walking with the woman.
“I’m using the artificial organic matrix to recreate organs,” said the woman excitedly. “Pepper requested that I start with trying to replicate the heart—do you have any idea how complicated the human heart is?” Rather than sounding offended or weary, the woman just sounded excited.
Impossible not to like her. She was too much like Peter. “You can do it!” he cheered.
“There’ll be failures,” said the woman eyes glinting with new light as they walked up to an apartment building, “but we’ll make it work!”
“Yes! Take no prisoners! Never accept ‘no’ as an answer!”
“Exactly!” The woman grinned and turned. “Thanks for walking me home, Deadpool.”
Wade posed. “Just doing my civic duty!” he said in his SuperheroTM voice. She rolled her eyes and went into the building as he turned and started jogging down the street.
{I think we’re actually in good shape.}
[Doesn’t matter. Healing factor won’t let us degenerate.]
Wade wasn’t paying attention. He heard something at the top of a building and climbed to see what was going on. There was a woman there, standing on the ledge opposite the side he’d climbed. “Oh, hey there!” he called.
She was silent long enough that he thought she didn’t hear him. “Hey,” she finally said.
“I love looking at the night sky, especially with my bestest buddy, Spidey,” Wade said as he slowly, carefully made his way towards her. The last thing he wanted to do was startle her into falling off the roof.
“Oh.” The voice seemed oddly—emotionless. As though there was nothing left. Not anger, not sadness—nothing.
Wade couldn't help the shiver that ran through him at the small word. “So,” he asked drawing out the word, “do you wanna talk about it?”
“They’re going to take the city,” she said flatly.
[Who is?]
Wade thought that was a good question, so he repeated it. She turned to look at him and he could see that she was clutching her left arm tightly, expression haunted. He could see black in her skin, under the hand. “The monsters.”
{I think she’s more crackers than we are.}
[That—that does not look good. Maybe her arm is infected?]
“Hey, you know there’s a hospital that can look at that arm,” Wade offered. “I can take you there, if you like.”
The woman let out a low broken laugh that made the hair rise on the back of his neck—if he still had hair.
[She sounds like—we did.]
Wade didn’t follow the thought. He remembered being on the edge of sanity, and didn’t want to go there again. “Hey, why don’t you come down from there and tell me about the monsters?” he asked. He was trying to get her away from that ledge. Normal people did not heal like he did.
“There’s going to be only two types in this city,” the woman said. “Those who have turned into monsters, and those who are eaten by them.”
“I’m sure there will be people who hunt the monsters,” said Wade desperately, trying to get her off that ledge. He hadn’t stopped moving towards her.
“I can hear it, you know?” the woman said calmly. “The voice. Telling me what to do. I can ignore it now, because I’m still human, but I won’t be much longer.”
“I’m sure it’ll be okay,” Wade said.
“You don’t understand!” hissed the woman. She turned towards him, eyes wide and bright, no longer sane. “You don’t know what it wants! What it’s saying! I won’t do it—I won’t be one of them!” She turned and shouted into the night. “You hear me?! I won’t be one of them!” She jumped.
Wade rushed that last distance to the ledge, reached out to grab her, to stop her from falling—but didn’t quite make it.
To the Moon and Back (Peter Parker x Stark OC) Chapter 2
Master list
Warnings: Mild Profanity
A/N: Hey guys sorry if I kinda updated late, and for the next few days I’ll be extremely busy being a student poll worker for the elections so Chapter 3 might come out hopefully by next Friday, but do watch out for a link to a playlist that I specifically made for this fanfic! Anyways, have a great day <3
Word Count: 2216
Summary: Nixie meets Peter Parker and makes friends with him. Moonflower goes on a patrol around Queens and finally meets Spiderman in person.
Nixie had stayed up all night researching whatever she could find about Spiderman and the only things that she saw were videos of him on Youtube just swinging around the city and saving lives. There wasn’t anything else particularly interesting about him besides the fact that he can shoot webs, Nixie thought, although she was still curious as to why she’s been seeing visions of this specific hero.
Nixie stared at her screen intently watching the same video of Spiderman over and over again, analyzing every single detail of the video. Then her door creaked, it was Natasha. “Rise and shine early-” Nixie turned her head to look at Natasha, “And you’re already awake!” She exclaimed as she entered the room.
“Actually, I’ve been up all night.” Nixie answered,
“Well that explains the dark circles…” Natasha replied as she looked at the computer monitor, “Have you been watching Spiderman this whole time?” She asked and Nixie nodded.
“Seems like you already have a thing for him.” A smirk formed on Natasha’s face
“What? NO!” Nixie retorted, “I was just simply researching… I was  hoping I could find some more info on him, but all I could find are these youtube videos.” She added.
“Well, you’ll find more info if you start getting ready. It’s a long trip from here to Queens.” Natasha said as she walked towards the door and waited for Nixie to get up.
“Ugh, I better be an Avenger by the end of this…” Nixie muttered as she got up and started to get ready for the day.
Once she was all dressed up, she headed straight to the kitchen and prepared her coffee in her travel mug. “Morning Moonie.” Tony would only refer to his daughter Moonie when he’s terribly concerned, “I heard you stayed up all night…” Nixie looked up at her father with a tired stare.
“I did.” She answered,
“Look, when I said I wanted you to find out who Spiderman is, I didn’t mean that you go out of your way and stay up all night looking him up.” He replied,
She wanted to tell him about the visions but something inside of her is telling that it wasn’t the right time, “I know, but... It’s just that... I don’t know. I can’t really think, the lack of sleep is getting to me.” Nixie yawned as she poured a bit of milk into her coffee.
Tony looked at his daughter with deep concern as her face was pale, making her dark circles even more prominent. “God, you look like you came out of a Tim Burton movie.” Nixie rolled her eyes at her dad’s snarky statement.
Meanwhile in an apartment somewhere in Queens, a young Peter Parker had just finished getting ready for school. He tied his shoelaces, grabbed his backpack, and made his way to the door, “Hey hey, wait!” his aunt May scurried to the door and handed him his lunch bag,
“Thanks May.” Peter said with a smile,
“Remember, after band practice, go straight home got it?” May said with one eyebrow raised, Peter nodded and waved goodbye.
He walked to the subway station which was extremely packed. He stood next to a guy whose armpit hair reeked of rotten vinegar which Peter had to endure for the rest of his trip. Once he got to his stop, he breathed heavily before he could start walking to the campus.
The campus was surrounded by huge trees and a few bushes here and there. Peter walked through the courtyard as he listened to music, he kept walking and didn’t even realize that he was about to bump into someone. Once it had already happened, he finally snapped out of reality. He bumped into a girl who was holding a few books and a travel mug, the coffee spilled everywhere and mostly on the tree that she was standing next to.
“Oh no, are you okay?” Peter thought the girl was talking directly to him but his eyes were fixed on the fallen textbooks and did not notice that she was actually talking to the tree.
“Shouldn’t I be the one asking you that?” Peter asked as he picked up her books and the girl turned around to look at him.
“Uh... Right, uhm yeah I’m good...” She awkwardly answered,
“It was my bad I wasn’t looking...” Once Peter got up, he finally got a good look at the girl, he tilted his head realizing that he had never seen her before.
“Well, I didn’t get a stain on my clothes so it’s all fine.” She answered,
“I don’t think I’ve met you before... Peter said as he handed the girl’s textbooks.
“That’s cuz I’m new,” the girl chuckled, “I’m Nixie.” the name sounded so familiar but Peter could not point his finger at it until after a minute of registering it. His jaw dropped in astonishment.
“You’re-” Before he could even actually say a full sentence, Nixie nodded.
“Yup. I’m Stark’s kid.” She replied.
“But I thought you went to Knox?” Peter asked,
“Wait, people knew which school I go to?!” Nixie exclaimed,
“Well yeah... You’re dad’s famous, that makes you famous.” Peter replied and just when Nixie was about to open her mouth, the school bell rang.
“What class do you have?” Peter asked and Nixie showed a piece of paper showing her class schedule.
“We both have the same classes together, I’ll just walk with you to show you around if that’s fine with you.” Peter said and Nixie smiled,
“Great, thanks!” She replied.
Eventually, they were joined by Peter’s friend Ned who was a bit more outspoken and had expressed his love for computer games. All three of them had the same classes and Nixie was lucky enough to sit next to them in almost all of their classes except for Art, where she sat next to a girl named MJ and Liz.
Because of her world famous father, everyone couldn’t help but look at her and start whispering which made her feel uncomfortable and awkward, but thanks to Peter and Ned she the discomfort and awkwardness faded away as she felt welcomed and appreciated by her two new friends.
When it was lunch time, Peter, Ned, and Nixie sat down and ate their lunch. Nixie couldn’t help but notice that MJ was sitting one table away from them. “Shouldn’t we... Like invite her over here?” Nixie asked the two guys who sat across from her.
“Nah, she always sits there by herself.” Ned answered,
“Yeah but-”
“I’m just a table away, I can hear you guys loud and clear.” MJ said, she then turned her eyes to Nixie, “And I’m fine sitting here, thanks.” MJ went back to reading her book again.
“See?!” Ned whispered loudly
“So Nixie, how does it feel like being around the Avengers?” Peter asked,
“Well... Steve’s like an old grandpa but you can definitely count on him for some good old timey music, Natasha’s like an aunt to me and she’s extremely cool, then there’s the new people, Wanda and Vision. I haven’t really talked to them but that’s mostly because Vision creeps me out.” Nixie answered,
“Whoa... It must be chaotic when they have missions...” Ned said
“Trust me, it is...” Nixie replied, and then it was time to finally ask the million dollar question, “So, what do you guys know about the spiderman dude?” she noticed that Peter dropped his fork and froze right after the question, but Ned shrugged.
“No one really knows his identity, but I do know he’s pretty cool.” Ned continued, “Why’d you ask?”
“Nothing… I just thought he’s really cool, Moonflower’s better though.” Nixie said as her eyes were fixated on Peter’s reactions to the discussion of Spiderman, he remained frozen, as if he was guilty of something.
“Oh yeah, I’ve seen some of her videos on youtube too. She’s pretty cool.” Peter finally spoke.
“Is she part of the Avengers? I can’t remember…” Ned replied,
“Nah, she’s just roaming around Manhattan, basically like Spiderman.” Nixie answered.
“How’d you know that? Have you seen her before?” Peter raised an eyebrow at Nixie,but she couldn’t answer. Thankfully, she was saved by the bell and they all went to their classes.
A week has passed and Nixie still doesn’t have information on Spiderman, but she suspects that her friend Peter might know who he is. So one day after school she runs after Peter. “Hey Pete!” Peter was startled by Nixie that he was ready to throw a punch, “Whoa there… If I were you I’d think twice about that.” Nixie said while her hands were raised as if she was ready to block him.
“Sorry, I thought you were a thief…” Peter replied as he scratched the back of his head, embarrassed.
“It’s all good, I was just wondering if you could help me with my literature assignment. I’ve been struggling with some parts and I could really use that brain of yours.” Nixie asked expecting he would say something like,
“You know what… I would if I could, but I-I have plans…” Peter stuttered,
“Oh, so where you off to?” Nixie asked,
“Just some part-time job at a… Deli! Yeah, I just got a part-time job at a dei.” Nixie immediately knew that Peter was lying but she went along with it.
“Oh that’s totally fine, I’ll probably just ask MJ. I’ll see you around!” Nixie waved goodbye,
“Yeah, see ya!” Peter waved back. Once Nixie turned and left, he let out a sigh of relief immediately ran to the subway station to finally start his evening patrol.
***
“Are you sure about this?” Happy looked at Nixie wearing her usual suit who planned to go around Queens as Moonflower in hopes of finding Spiderman and hoping that whoever she’s suspecting is indeed the masked hero.
“How else am I gonna get information on him? And besides, it’s good publicity!” Nixie teased and Happy rolled his eyes.
“Fine, and if you don’t come back to the car by 10 pm, I WILL LEAVE.” Happy emphasized the last three words and Nixie just nodded as she put on her mask.
“Alright, see ya later.” Nixie winked and stretched her arms out, thick vines grew on the brick wall that she was facing and climbed onto it to get to the top. She walked around hoping to get a sight of Spiderman but there was nothing. She moved from building to building, until she saw a woman who stood closely next to a man with a ski mask. The man had a gun pointing at the woman’s head waiting for her to open up her bag, and all of a sudden, a string of web sprouted out of nowhere leaving the man unarmed. It was Nixie’s chance, she immediately used her vine and slid down to the bottom of the building and hid in the shadows.
“Who’s there?” The man yelled as he pulled out a back-up knife and pointed it towards the woman’s neck. “Give me back my gun or she dies!” The man yelled. Then, the person that Nixie’s been waiting for stepped out, Spiderman shot out another web taking the knife from the man and threw a punch at him. The man laid unconscious on the ground and Spiderman stood in front of him with his hands on his hips.
“Not so scary now are ya?” Spiderman scoffed. It was Nixie’s first time hearing his voice and it sounded really familiar to her, but figuring out who he was wasn’t the priority right now as she saw a group of men whom she assumed was with the other guy were cracking up their knuckles and were ready to ambush Spiderman who was completely clueless.
It was finally her moment, Nixie touched the ground and vines with sharp thorns started growing out and wrapped around the legs of the men, one was close enough to throw a punch but before they could even do it, Nixie yelled, “YO SPIDERMAN WATCH OUT!” Spiderman immediately swerved making the other man fall to the ground. It wasn’t long until the other men got rid of the vines so Nixie threw small grenades that would release a pungent odor similar to the corpse flower once thrown at the target and would immediately make them lose consciousness. It released green smoke and once the scent hit their noses, the men dropped to the ground like dead flies.
Spiderman was already busy making sure the woman went home safely as Nixie tied all of them together with her vine rope. “So… Moonflower eh?” She turned around to see Spiderman.
“Glad we could finally meet, Spiderman.” She replied.
“I must say, those stink bombs are pretty impressive.” Spiderman said as he crossed his arms against his chest.
“I know right?! They’re pretty sick!”,  “The cops are on their way to pick these losers up.” She had a huge smile that seemed familiar to Spiderman. “But I must say Peter, those web shooters are far more impressive than my stink bombs.” She added.
“Well, I mean they did take much work but I don’t think…” Spiderman paused and looked at Moonflower who had a smirk on her face. “Did you just call me…”
“That’s right, Peter Parker.”
Man Flu || Jake Gyllenhaal
Look for the tag “masterlist” on my blog :)
My first imagine in quite a while, I hope it turned out ok! :)
Thank you for the request, enjoy!!
Request by emmagrahambrooks: Hi :) I was wondering if you could write an imagine of a very sick Jake Gyllenhaal? He catches a very bad flu (with fever, vomiting etc) while in the middle of promoting a movie. Y/n is worried and tries to take care of him but he tries brushing it off until he faints on the job.
Warnings: fainting
Word Count: 2.211 Words
Man Flu
You had been home alone for three months, while your fiancé Jake was promoting his new movie "Spiderman: Far From Home" and although you were happy for him and excited for the film, the feeling of wanting to have him near you was starting to become unbearable. Also, last night when you talked to him on the phone to wish him a good flight home, he didn't sound healthy at all.
So, there you were, standing in the kitchen stirring a pot of soup while listening to whatever music was playing on the radio. The smell of your mother's recipe filled the entire room and gave you a warm feeling of nostalgia. Just as you were ready to turn off the stove, the sound of a familiar key ring hitting the door rang through your ears. Quickly, you made sure to take the pot off the hot surface and ran into the hallway at a quick pace, careful not to slip in your fuzzy socks.
Jake just got done with setting his suitcase on the floor, when you threw your arms around his neck to greet him with a tight hug. He caught you with a "hmpf" sound and closed the door behind him. He let out a big breath,
"Ah, it feels good to be home", to which you could only agree with a nod, "Feels good to have you back."
As soon as you separated again, you saw how pale he looked though, "but damn, you look like crap",
"and there I thought you greeted me nicely", he joked. You gave him a sly smile and went in for a kiss before he stopped you, "No, no, I don't want you getting sick as well." So you could only give him a kiss on the cheek after putting your hands on his face.
Shortly after, he noticed the smell, "What are you cooking?", while grabbing the luggage to bring it upstairs, but you interrupted him,
"You", you pointed strictly with a finger, "sit down and relax, I'll get it upstairs. A soup is waiting for you in the kitchen, just give me a minute."
"Don't be ridiculous, I can carry my own stuff", he argued but you had none of it,
"Jake, you literally look like you're about to faint at any second", you looked at him with pleading eyes, "please..."
He gave in with a sigh and carried his body into the living room.
On your way to the shared bedroom, you started to truly worry about your fiancé and the condition he was in - you had never seen him look that terrible. You put the suitcase in the corner right next to the door and went into the bathroom to grab the supplies you were sure you would need, then into the walk-in closet to get some comfier clothes as the jeans he was wearing looked way too uncomfortable for someone ill.
Back downstairs, you couldn't find Jake in the living room but heard drawers being opened and closed in the next room. Shaking your head in slight annoyance, you put everything down on the glass coffee table and walked through the open sliding doors that lead into the kitchen. Standing there, you saw him pouring himself some soup into a bowl while supporting his body weight on the side of the counter with his elbow.
"Jake, what do you not understand about sit down and relax", you ranted as you walked up to him and took the bowl out of his right hand and the ladle from his left.
"Y/N, I think I can get myself something to eat, it's fine", he tried to calm you down,
"No, it's not, I don't think you've looked at yourself."
"Thanks", he bluntly stated before walking back into the living room to sit down for real this time.
You quickly finished everything in the kitchen and followed him.
"I thought you might want to shower", you carefully tried to speak to him as you noticed that he clearly had gotten slightly annoyed.
"Thanks, babe", he accepted the bowl of soup you reached out for him to grab and put it on the pillow he had placed on his lap.
Sitting down next to him, you put your right hand up to his forehead and almost jumped, feeling how hot he was,
"Jesus, Jake...", your hand moved up to his hair to straighten it down in comfort. He moved his head away from you and carried on eating.
"I'm gonna make you a cup of tea", you sighed.
Ten minutes later, after the water was boiling hot and you had poured it into a mug with a Camille tea bag in it, you carried it carefully back into the living room, only to find your fiancé passed out on the couch. You smiled at how vulnerable he looked, placed a blanket over his body and decided to get ready for bed yourself.
In the shower, you started contemplating whether you should let Jake carry on with promoting Spiderman or call his assistant and tell her, he won't be coming tomorrow. But due to his current mindset and annoyance, you decided to leave this decision making to tomorrow. You understood that he wanted to do his job but you also wanted to make him realize how bad working would be for his body.
Fresh out of the shower and in your warm pyjamas, you entered your bedroom, to come to sight with Jake grabbing his pillow and blanket, looking ready to leave. Without a word he was about to walk past you when you stopped him, "What do you think, you're doing?"
"Sleeping on the guest bedroom, I don't want you getting ill as well", he looked you in the eyes and started walking again, but you grabbed his arm.
"Jake, stop. You sleep in the bed, I'll take the other room." You didn't even let him say anything more, but just grabbed everything from his arms and put it back on the bed. Not wanting to let his bad mood get to you, you continued, "Please just at least change your clothes, you've been wearing them all day, they can't be comfortable" before he could interrupt, you carried on, "AND drink the tea."
Jake heard the pleading and sad undertone and felt bad since he had not realized how rude he had been ever since arriving. After you straightened out the blanket on the bed, he walked over to you, gently grabbed your upper arms, and turned you to look at him,
"I'm sorry... for... how I've been acting", he caressed your cheek, "I appreciate everything you do for me but I'm fine", you gave him a look with raised eyebrows, "I am. It's probably just a man flu or something", he finished the sentence, making you laugh slightly. "Thank you for everything", he placed a soft kiss on your forehead.
"You don't have to thank me, that's my job", you smiled at him, "good night."
"Good night", he smirked, knowing or hoping that you weren't mad at him anymore.
Grabbing all of your stuff, you walked out of the room but not before informing him of one more thing, "Drink the tea", you asked him kindly. And that was the first time in a long time that you had spent the night in the same house but in different beds and it didn't feel right.
--- The Following Day ---
You woke up from a sleep of three full hours. It was impossible for you to sleep, hearing Jake blow his nose and coughing the entire night, knowing that you can't do anything more to help him.
After getting up and making the bed, you knocked on the bedroom door, waiting for a "come in" or something similar but nothing came. So you opened it and walked it but couldn't find your significant other in the bed or in the ensuite. Then you remembered that he had to do more interviews to promote the film in America and had probably already left.
Downstairs, you couldn't find any evidence of him having had breakfast or even drinking the tea that you reminded him of yesterday as it was still standing on the coffee table, now cold. You sat down on the sofa and put your head in your hands, thinking of all the ways you would be lecturing him as soon as he walked back into the house.
Not even five minutes later, your phone rang, startling you. You couldn't find it at first, looking on the table, under it, on the tv stand, until you found it under the pillow of one of the chairs in which you were reading your book yesterday. It didn't say the name, only showed a number, so you answered it curiously,
"Hello?"
"Hi, (Y/N)?", the voice sounded familiar but that early in the morning, you couldn't identify exactly who's it was.
"Yeah... sorry, who's this?"
"Victoria", she laughed, "right, sorry, I have a new phone number, you probably don't have it yet, sorry", and apologized.
"Oh right, I'm so sorry, I didn't recognize your voice at first", it was Jake's assistant, but you were still curious as to why she was calling you at half-past eight in the morning. "What's up Vic? Everything alright?"
She took a while to answer, "Well... not exactly.", this made your heartbeat quicken, "It's nothing too serious... but... Jake fainted. During an interview", she quickly continued, "but the doctor said it's nothing to worry about, he just overworked his body when he shouldn't have."
You huffed, "It told him to relax", and shook your head, "I wanted to call you this morning before he got up but I missed it, I'm sorry."
"No need, (Y/N). He's stubborn, I know", she joked.
You asked her for the address of the hospital he was in, ended the call, threw something on quickly, and exited the house before making your way there, ready to deliver a telling-off.
Finding a parking space was surprisingly easy but to find your boyfriend, not so much. The hospital was a lot bigger than the ones you were used to and had to ask three different front desk ladies, where he was.
Finally, reaching the right floor, you already came to sight with Victoria walking up and down the hallway but stopping as soon as she saw you, "Oh great, you're here, maybe he'll listen to you. I don't know what to do", she threw her arms up. "Why? What's going on?", you worried. "He wants to go back to the hotel to carry on with the interviews AGAINSt doctor's orders", she pointed out. You let out a big breath,
"You can go back, I'll talk to him", then you swore under your breath, "I swear, this man..." Before entering his room, you heard her say, "Good luck."
Inside, Jake was just putting his shoes back on but you interrupted him, "Are you out of your goddamn mind?! I told you to relax and now even the doctors tell you to and you STILL won't listen?!"
Your tone shocked him a bit as he has never seen you this furious, "(Y/N), babe, I'm fine. It was j-", "NO stop! Don't you dare talk yourself out of this. You don't get it. Yes, it might just be the flu or whatever but it can get worse and I think fainting might just be that", you moved your hands around wildly, clearly showing how distraught you were.
"You don't understand, I only have a week left and then I'm done with this, with promoting Spiderman, that's it. Then I'm fully back home again, I don't want to postpone it!",
"But your health is far more important than that!", you argued back. "But spending time with you even more!"
His sentence made you stop in your tracks and almost choke on your spit. Your hands went up to your face and rubbed your eyes tiredly.
"Jake...", you started a lot quieter and took a deep breath, as you didn't know how to continue, so he did.
"No. You... I don't know, maybe you don't feel that way... but I feel like the shittiest fiancé ever... for not being with you while you're planning everything and have to be alone at home all the time."
You went to sit down next to him on the hospital bed, "You're not the shittiest fiancé, not even in the slightest, trust me", you smiled at him, tears forming in both of your guys' eyes, "This is your job and I knew what I put myself into when I said yes", your right hand flew up to his cheek, carefully caressing it, "I love you and whether you're doing promo for one week more or not, won't change anything about that", that made him smile widely and he kissed the palm of your hand, "but you not listening to me might", you laughed jokingly.
"I love you too, I'm sorry", he apologized.
All of a sudden, he reached down to the floor to grab a bucket next to his feet and put it on his lap - and threw up. "Wow, you really know to ruin a moment." Your comment made him smile.
T.H.E. W.I.R.E.S.
Chapter 1 Chapter 5
Chapter 6: Arival 1
The first thing he noticed as he slowly regained consciousness, was how soft everything was.
A warm cloud-like texture enveloped his upper body, while what covered his legs was a little cooler, smother and he seemed to sink into the ground underneath him.
His whole body ached, but the pain had lost the sharp edge that he had almost grown accustomed to.
Thinking was too much of an effort right now, so he didn’t. Instead savouring the feeling of cotton in his brain and pulsing in his limbs.
With time though, he got more and more aware of his surroundings.
The air was cooler than what he had had to endure in the dungeons, but he smelled steam and salt waving over, as well as a smell he couldn’t quite place.
Light trickled through his closed eyelids, not very bright but enough to be a little uncomfortable.
He couldn’t quite place what all of that meant though and he made sure not to move or make a sound until the fog in his head cleared enough to know what to do.
Because he sure as hell wasn't alone. Rustling clothes and after a while the clinking of porcelain and metal against each other made it clear that someone was in the same room as him.
Metal….
Only now did he realise that his hands weren't cuffed anymore.
Curious.
It took him a few seconds more until he remembered.
Frigga had broken him out. She had gotten him out of the dungeon and brought him to Midgard.
At least that had been the plan.
Peter had spent hours reading, before he got too hungry to concentrate and decided that cold eggs on toast, wouldn’t be his choice for the first meal after what was probably years of torture.
So, he ate them while thinking of what to do next.
When he saw a slight twitch on the face of the unconscious form, he took that to mean that he would soon be waking up, or at least had gone from being out cold to just sleeping.
Taking into account that the teen really wasn't the best of cooks, he decided to just make some pasta with tomato sauce.
Better something simple then something burned.
About half way in, he noticed a hitch in the god’s breathing as well as a change in his heartrate.
Satisfied that he had been right, he turned his attention to the stove again.
A little more rest surely wouldn’t hurt and he didn’t want to rush the other.
Only when the table was set and the food all done did he speak up.
“Can you move enough to eat at the table or do you want to eat in bed?”
Just as he wanted to raise his eyes, to look at Loki, the bowl Frigga had left caught his eyes again.
About a dozen small vials lay in it now as well as a letter with the God’s name on it.
That could wait until later though.
As he looked over to the bed, he saw its occupant, struggling to turn enough to see him.
With a smile half sad, half relived on his face he went over to help the god into a sitting position.
Exhaustion was written all over his face but one corner of his mouth was slightly turned upwards.
“It worked” he whispered almost deliriously. “You kept your word.”
The brunette nodded and brought over their food, so they could eat together.
Savouring the taste of his first real meal in what felt like forever, the Jotun took his time.
Minutes went by in a strange sort of silence. Peter wanted to make sure he wouldn’t cross any lines or make his company uncomfortable while almost bursting with curiosity.
Loki on the other hand was still out of it. His hands shook and thinking was a chore with how hard it was to grasp anything that was going on.
But he was safe; that much he knew.
When they were finished eating, Peter introduced Loki to the AI, living with him.
It was obvious that the god tried to pay attention but struggled, so the teen soon decided to let him rest for a while longer.
At least the vigilante felt like he could leave the room for a bit without worrying his guest might die while he was out.
He helped the god lay back down and put the fancy bowl with the vials in it into the small, elevated crevasse at the back corner of the bed; since it was meant as a sort of nightstand anyway.
Then he went up to his room to get ready for a patrol.
On his way he made sure, Manuel knew to try and not spook the Asgardian too much and tell him when the hero would be back.
The moment he put on his suit and therefore connected with KAREN she tried to find out why he went out of his way to have Manuel out on his watch, even though he also was in the walls there.
It almost sounded like she was jealous- even though that shouldn’t be possible- giving Peter an opening to evade her question by teasing her, to come up with a lie.
Somehow, he managed to convince her to split the time spent with the AIs along the same lines, he split his life into Spiderman and Peter Parker.
While swinging towards New York City he was finally able to relax and collect himself again.
Knowing the god was safe in his room and nobody suspected a thing, was a huge weight off his chest.
After all, FRIDAY was due to be uploaded tomorrow and the chances of him wandering outside without his suit on were slim enough that it seemed almost miraculous to him that the goddess had caught him in a perfect moment like that.
Luck seemed for once to be on his side, making it impossible to wipe the smile from his face, as he arrived in his normal territory; Not that he wanted to.
High spirited as he was, he followed an instinct, telling him to swing a little farther than usual in the hopes of meeting that devil fella again.
He still hadn't gotten a clear read of this guy.
But he seemed nice enough, and if the spider wasn't completely wrong, the other had a few questions for him.
Right now, he just really wanted to talk to somebody so he hoped that Red would be fine with this.
The next time he heard the tell-tale *whip* again, which gave away the spider themed Vigilante, was when he was just on his way home from a night out with Foggy and Karen.
Matt Murdock had always been hell set on being independent.
Just because he was blind didn't mean that he needed help with everything.
Then again; He had also never been above using his disability and others' helpfulness to his advantage.
So, dropping his cane, he made a show out of cursing and tapping around the ground in the completely false direction to get spiderman's attention.
Last time they spoke, almost everything about the other had been puzzling to him.
While they had been fighting, his reflexes had been unnaturally accurate, and at times it had seemed like electric shocks cursed suddenly through his body, eliciting a little jerk of his head as if startled.
But the strangest thing was that, technically, a heart rate as fast as his resting one, should have him hyperventilating.
This irritated him to no end, because it meant that he couldn’t accurately figure out if he was being lied to like he could with others.
Especially when taking into account that his heartrate had been actually slower while he was fighting, then when afterwards, instead of the other way round.
As he listened closely for the other vigilante’s heartbeat right now, it was the same. Much too fast to be normal, even factoring in the adrenalin from his method of transportation.
Careful to keep his act up, he flinched back at the sound of feet hitting the ground right beside him.
“Excuse me, sir. It’s Spider-Man, ‘you want me to help you?” the masked man asked in a chipper tone.
“Yeah, uhm” He cleared his throat while shakily standing up. A bit worried if he was exaggerating a little too much “That would be great.”
While the other bent down to pick up the cane, Daredevil thought of what to say. How straightforward could he be about this?
“What brings you to Hell’s kitchen, if you don’t mind me asking? As far as I know the Devil is pretty territorial.” Way to go Murdock; Not at all suspicious.
“Well, that’s not at all concerning.” He raised an eyebrow at the choice of words, coupled with how nonchalantly they were spoken.
How young was this guy?
A subtle touch of the handle against the back of his hand alerted the blind man of his cane’s position.
”But I was only here to talk anyways. You haven’t by chance .. uh… heard?.. Of any sightings today?” There it was. The awkwardness around the topic of his vision.
At least he tried.
“I didn’t...” His head leaned to one side, angled up a bit; his hands both resting on his cane in typical Murdock fashion. “I also never heard you guys were buddy’s”
That’s what people did, wasn’t it? Jump to conclusions? Hopefully it would keep him talking.
“It’s not like we meet each Wednesday for a picnic on the rooftops or anything. And even if we knew each other that good it’s safer for us the less people know anything about that sort of thing.”
Clever of him.
He didn’t really reveal any clear information. Everything could mean one thing or it’s opposite without him having to tell a lie.
“I guess so, after all, if you knew him that good, you would know that he isn't out at this time of day. He goes around in the evening or the night, mostly.”
The vigilante coked his head to the side inquisitively. “Is that so? Good to know.”
Luckily, it didn't seem to damp his mood that much.
“You wouldn't mind escorting me home, would you?” The blind man asked, after a moment of hesitation.
“Sure, why not?” Daredevil wasn't anxious about being found out by this younger hero.
He knew surprisingly little about his alter ego. And for some reason, he trusted that the other wouldn't rat him out. Having his own secret identity.
So they chatted on their way back to Matt’s flat before Spider-man took off in the direction of queens again.
The rest of patrol consisted of the usual: a few muggings, a few cats in trees and old women to be helped over the street.
He broke up one thing that looked like an attempted rape and escorted the frightened girl to the police station.
As his curfew grew nearer, the closer he stayed to the tower. He had to let himself be seen there, soon Mr. Stark would assume something that happened to him.
When he decided that he was out long enough, he stuck to the side of the building and asked Karen to contact Friday to open a window for him.
She opened the window to the former Avengers common room.
It didn't get used much now that the rogues were on the run, and Tony preferred to use the common rooms in his own penthouse.
Since Friday had opened the window there, Peter was pretty sure that Mr. Stark was in the labs, which he wasn't allowed to climb into from the outside.
On his way to the kitchen area, he got rid of his mask.
Nobody who didn't already know his secret Identity had enough clearance to come up here anyway, not since the rogues hadn't been pardoned yet.
That was also what he didn't already panic when he heard the elevator come up to his level and people talking inside.
Tony had probably been notified of his arrival and came up from the lab, talking probably to Friday or Pepper.
As the elevator opened, however, he didn't recognize the footsteps next to the mechanic, and it was definitely not Pepper speaking up.
“That... was a lot. Though I can't say that I'm really surprised; you too always had this… quarrel going between you two.”
Panicked Peter Scrambled for his mask, glad about a super hearing, which was the only thing giving him enough time to put it on before the two men stepped into the room enough to see him.
He carried on ruffling through the pantries, as if he hadn't just had a heart nearly had a heart attack.
He may have just eaten a few hours ago, but he had had exercise and his super metabolism demanded sustenance.
“Yes, well then it will surprise you even more, that I am the one who is trying to mend the accords so everyone can agree to sign them.” The much more familiar voice of Tony came from the door; then: “oh. Hey Spidey”.
“Morning, Mr. Stark.” The addressee answered, head still in a pantry, searching for his favourite flavoured pop tarts.
That seemed to startle the unknown man, for he gave out a little squeak, as if surprised that somebody else was present.
“Well, you didn't say that Spider-Man would be here.” He led out just as Peter found what he was searching for, and pulled the box out along with a bag of Doritos.
“That's because I wasn't until two minutes ago.” He quipped as an answer while turning around and promptly almost dropping everything he had in his arms to the floor.
At the entrance to the kitchen area stood, no none other than Bruce freaking Banner, seven PhDs, a master of science and most renowned researcher of gamma radiation with a sheer endless number of articles published under his name.
The youngest had read all of them, soaked up every single world, in the hopes of finding out more about what had happened with a spider bite.
After Tony Stark, Banner was this greatest idol in science - not to speaker of the scientific miracle that was the Hulk.
But at this first reaction, Banner’s face dropped.
He really shouldn't be surprised, every time he got recognized for who he was, people reacted in fear; if they even recognized him.
But the very next second he was proven wrong.
The vigilante came over in a few long strides  and began to excitedly chat at a near inhuman speed.
“Oohmygooodd.It’syouIt’sBruceBanner. I’msuchagreatfanofyourworkwithgammaradiation. And how you managed to trace the energy signature of the sceptre?!? It’ssoocooltomeetyou!!”
As he looked to his mentor with stars in his eyes, all he could do was break out laughing.
Tony knew that his protégé was excitable but right now that trait had reached an all-time high.
When he had himself under control again, he looked up at the others; almost losing it once more at the furious blush spreading over Bruce’s faces and the comically large eyes of the mask Peter was wearing.
Upon seeing that Peter pouted.
Even without seeing his face Tony seemed to pick up on that, as he put an arm over his shoulder in the way he always did when trying to console the boy.
“Breath, kid. Or I might get the impression that you like him better than me.”
“Oh, don't worry, Mr. Stark. You will always be my favourite, but this is Bruce Freaking Banner we’re talking about. You cannot tell me that his work on the effects of radiation on electronics isn't credible?!”
The billionaire just laughed as an answer. While the aforementioned scientist, blushed furiously.
“That was ages ago. You really read all of those papers?”
“Of course, Dr. Banner. I read every single paper you have published.”
“He isn't joking either,” Mr. Stark added ”I’ve quizzed him once because I couldn't believe it, but he really did read every single one.”
“I'm flattered,” Bruce muttered, for lack of better words.
Peter flushed a tooth to grin which couldn't be seen by the other two, but he knew Mr. Stark would catch up on that; he had become good at interpreting his body language.
That theory was promptly proven right by Mr. Stark saying, “wipe that grin off your face, it makes me jealous.”
“Alright, your right. Mr. Stuck.” Peter answered. “But for the much better question, not to be rude or anything, but where were you? You were like untraceable for several years now. It must be so weird to come back after all this time.”
The concern was audible in his voice, and it made the man beside him chuckle.
“The kid has a point. Care to explain Brucey-bear?”
“Well, you know how the hulk kind of got his hands on one of Tony’s quinjets?” Bruce asked. Still a little shy.
Peter nodded in confirmation.
“Well, somehow it got us out of earth’s atmosphere and onto an unknown planet. It was some kind of post-apocalyptic hellhole... all full of ruins, not a living soul. And the big guy didn't let me have a turn in the body to go and fix a jet.
“He had his fun on the planet for over a year at which point I kind of manage to take advantage of the times you slept to take a look at the quinjet and try to repair it. Considering the limited supply of materials and tools I had, it took quite some time.
“But I managed as you see, and I somehow found a way back here. Once in the small shuttle, it was much easier to convince the big guy to stay down, and let me take control.” While Bruce had been speaking, they had all sat down on the table while Peter had gathered all he had dropped.
“That is so cool, Dr. Banner. But what made it so hard to change back on the other planet? Could it have been a difference in gravity and atmosphere, which made it harder to get control for yourself.
“Maybe the other planet had a different form of radiation level. Which would have killed a human, which would have been dangerous for a human, so the Hulk stayed?
“Mr. Stark once told me that he is able to take control if you’re in dangerous situations; to keep you to your life.” The boy had become noticeably more hesitant towards the end and Bruce appreciated the consideration of a mental state, though he couldn’t help wondering just how much Stark had told the kid.
“It could be. I can't be sure since I wasn't able to measure anything. As I said, limited access to tools.”
The boy just nodded and his mentor could see the millions of theories floating around the boy's head from the way his fingers seemed to pluck on visible strings in mid-air. While his palms dragged over, his suit over and over again.
He had witnessed the sort of movement quite often from his protégé. It seemed to help him think or calm down after a nightmare.
“I think that is enough about the big guy for now.” The engineer interrupted. “But now that Bruce will be living with us again: How far you with a compound kid?”
Peter only reacted with a slow turning of his head.
His mind still a million miles away. So, I took him a few seconds to come back in the real world.
“Yeah, I'm finished with most rooms by now.. I think. If you're coming soon there. But your room is finished already.” He said, distractedly at first, before shaking his head and coming to his senses.
“We only have to install Friday and we're good to go. Well, as I said, a few rooms need a little bit of touching up, but I get that done in the next few days.” Peter reported truthfully.
“Sounds lovely. We're going to come over tomorrow some time.” Tony said, shooting a questioning glance at the other scientist. “That is if his lab is ready.” He finished. And Peter shook his head.
“I still have to install a thing or two, but I should be done sometime in the afternoon.”
“I'm not planning to be awake any time before noon anyway. And I assume Bruce over here can deal with a little bit of sleeping in, too.” He just got a nod in response from the two.
“You're going to say in for the night?” Tony asked the teen beside him.
“No, I'll get back to the compound and make sure I haven't forgotten anything. Still have to finish the lab tomorrow. And I don't want to stand up too early either.”
With that, he stuffed a pop-tart in his mouth and went to the next window, which Friday already opened for him, once she noticed what he was about to do.
“See around” he said, flinging himself out of the window, prompting a groan from his mentor and a frightened squeak from the other scientist in the room.
“Jesus. This kid! The bane of my existence - and the cause for all of my grey hair.” Tony commented before showing his guest to the room he’d be sleeping in for the night.
Felix  12:33am - call me - 12:33am - srsly call me now i gotta show u smth -
You picked up the (incessantly) ringing device, wondering who it was yet already knowing who it was going to be.
Seeing Felix's caller id show up on your phone screen, you sighed, swiping the call to answer it anyway, putting it at a rather ugly angle on your pillow since it was Felix, after all.
"Why are you video calling, did you press the wrong button again?" you murmured, lazily leaning on your pillow as you talked. Felix looked as if he was in some sort of living room, and that framed geodude puzzle hanging on the wall behind him was beginning to look just too familiar.
Almost as if hearing your thought process, the blonde haired boy turned his head, shouting a loud, "Eric! Come here, dude!" Making you shoot up quickly, a hand flying to your head from the throb you got after getting up too fast.
Angling your phone so you looked a little more presentable, your breath hitched when you saw Eric come into your view, with a small towel draped over his head.
Eric raised his eyebrows at Felix in confusion before spotting you on the phone, his mouth dropping open before closing quickly, smiling shyly at you with a wave.
"Hi," his voice came out soft, "sorry to disturb you so late in the night, you seem like you were about to sleep."
Even though the three of you knew it was the truth, you replied dismissively anyway, "Oh, no it's fine, really. I wasn't asleep yet anyway." You didn't miss the knowing look Felix gave you, making you shrug your shoulders while Eric got comfortable in his seat next to Felix. His sharp eyes rounding when he looked back at the screen, holding the edges of the towel draped over his head with a certain hint of excitement in his expression.
"Are you ready for this? probably not but we're gonna show you anyway, okay, Eric, one, two....three!" Felix practically tore the towel off of Eric's head, revealing a bright blue head of hair, making your eyes widen, Felix giving the phone to Eric when the blue haired boy held his hand out expectantly after seeing your reaction.
"That's.....bright."
"Do you...." Eric's gaze travelled elsewhere (anywhere but at you, really) as his fingers smoothed down the parts of his hair that got ruffled in the process of Felix's dramatic reveal. "Do you uh...you know, like it?" he asked, flicking and pulling at his hair in an attempt to make it more presentable, thought you felt it was fine.
"I do! yeah! i mean, it looks great!" you were quick to reassure him, enjoying the smile that appeared on his face, relieved almost.
"What made you wanna do that suddenly?" Eric was about to reply when Felix cut in quickly, his face appearing on the screen and covering anything else visible.
"For the fun of it, you know?" Felix shrugged, "Me and my friends used to do stuff like this all the time in Australia," you rolled your eyes.
"So you just convinced Eric to bleach and dye his hair for fun?"
Eric's voice sounded behind Felix, "I thought maybe it was time to try something different for a change, or something," Felix nodded vigorously, smiling widely.
"That's cool," you heard a commotion on the other side of the phone, though you kept talking anyway, figuring it was a normal occurrence for them, "it really looks great, by the way-"
"Okay that's enough, Y/N. Time to go to sleep, bye!" Felix hung up the call before you could say goodbye. Sighing, you set your phone back down on the table, staring at the ceiling for a while trying to figure out why you were so affected by Eric just having different hair when your phone rang with a notification alarm.
Picking it up, you saw Eric had sent you a photo, opening it to see a picture that he'd taken of himself with a snorlax plushie, caption being 'we kind of look the same now, right?'
You laughed, replying him quickly to say he looked absolutely the same, though not surprised at the 'goodnight' text you'd received shortly after.
Eric was nice to you, and everyone else, you supposed.
===
"Hey dude, that's not very nice," Eric called in a voice that sounded genuinely upset at what was unfolding in the alley beneath him. Despite his lack of combat training (unless you counted fake ‘mma’ matches with Felix as training), as well as the fact that the man was probably twice Eric's size, Eric knew that that couldn't matter right now because whoever that could try to mug an old lady, was a dick. (and should be stopped, of course)
Shooting a web to the opposite apartment building, Eric swung down, landing smoothly in front of the mugger and using his webs to trap him against the wall, leaving him about half a minute to get this old lady whatever she needed.
If Eric was expecting any thanks, he should have thought again because this old lady was practically hysterical that some red and blue spider looking thing had just rescued her from being mugged.
"Ma'am please calm down, it’s okay,” Eric pleaded in his 'Spiderman' voice, only successfully doing so when he pushed up his mask enough to reveal his mouth.
"See? i'm a human! i'm a human boy! Nothing to worry about Ma'am,” Eric waved his hands as reassuringly as he could, calling the police to inform them of the mugger before shooting a few more webs on him as a precaution before bringing the old lady out into the town area. “Please be safe....and try not to walk through alleys next time!”
Swinging himself back onto the roof where he'd tossed his backpack previously, Eric checked the time on his phone, 7:20am, almost time for school. If he left now, he could probably still make it back by 7:30. Thank God he didn't listen to Felix when he tried to convince him not to bring his school uniform to his trips.
Eric was practically sprinting into the school, panting and clothes wrinkled from being wadded up in his backpack for so long, trying his best to slip into the class unnoticed to his desk was next to yours.
Twirling your pen as you tried to remain inconspicuous so the teacher wouldn't notice that Eric had jut arrived, he'd made that a little harder when he'd kneed the table in his hurry to sit down, thankfully going unnoticed by the teacher.
"You're early," you smirked, hearing him grunt in reply, chest still heaving from his trip here. (Eric would have figured that being Spiderman meant he wouldn't get winded from stairs so easily).
Tugging the sleeves of his shirt down, hooking a finger at his collar to pull it away from his neck and fanning himself with his other hand, the blue haired boy shrugged with a breathy laugh, "Sure am.” He told you, sticking his tongue out at you before turning his attention back to the teacher.
You scribbled down notes lazily, trying not to get distracted by the way Eric looked so different with this new hair, even if half of it was hidden under a baseball cap. Getting bored after a while, you shifted your attention to the screen, feeling yourself slowly start to let your vision blur, almost giving into sleep when you felt someone nudge your elbow, turning to see Eric was trying to pass you a small yellow post-it note.
Taking the note and pasting it onto your notebook, it read: -which one are you gonna sign up for?-
Turning your head to face Eric, you nudged him, seeing him jump slightly in his seat before a small huff of laughter left his lips. “Hmm?” his eyebrows raised, pen halting its movements against his paper.
“Sign up for what?”
There was a moment of silence where Eric looked as though you’d just told him his dog died before he leaned his head forward abruptly, eyebrows furrowing in confusion and mouth gaping slightly, “Sign up for what?” he asked you.
Rolling your eyes yet not being able to help the smile from your face, you shoved the - now crumpled - note into his hand. “This! Weren’t you the one that asked me?” you whisper-shouted, a hand moving to grip at your hair in mock frustration.
Eric’s expression softened, mouth forming an ‘o’ shape in realization, “Oh, right. Yeah, which internship position are you gonna sign up for?” he pointed to the board at the front of the class, where the teacher had written down various internship positions at different companies.
“What’s this for?” you glanced at Eric’s notebook to see if he’d written anything useful about it, seeing his small neat handwriting of
‘different day, different company take different day -’
Eric was quick to shield his notebook from you, choosing to distract you by pointing his pen to the direction of the board while he tried to make himself look less flustered at the fact that you could have just seen how he’d written that he wanted to take a different attachment day from you so it would be easier to have lunch with you.
“You see, we’re supposed to choose one,” he explained, closing his notebook and shoving it into his bag while you were looking at the board. “I think i’m gonna choose Monday’s,” he started slowly, “You know, since i like that, and you don’t...”
Your gaze went to the Monday slot on the board, seeing that it was something to do with sports and you made a face of disgust, shaking your head.
“You’re right, i don’t like that. I was thinking of maybe Wednesday?” you pointed at the area on the board to direct his attention there, seeing him nod, a soft smile threatening to appear.
“Great then, we’ll still have lunch breaks to spend together!”
“You think Felix will join us?” you bypassed his implication, making him press his lips together in a tight line.
“Eh, up to him, he’s welcome to whenever he wants,” Eric shrugged, not averse to the idea but not completely for it either. Felix was his best friend but...sometimes he was a little too obvious with the whole spider thing.
"Nice," you smiled to yourself, scribbling down quickly onto your notebook about the details of your internship, the thought of work reminding you of Eric's part-time job.
"Right, are you working today?"
Eric had almost forgotten that he had told you about his 'part-time job', if you counted roaming around the streets of your neighbourhood looking for crime to stop dressed in a body suit as a part-time job.
"I work everyday, the city never sleeps Y/N," he sighed dramatically, shaking his head at his textbook wistfully.
"What are you even talking about you work at a pet shop, i'm pretty sure that part of the city does sleep." Eric waved you off dismissively, not being able to help the tiny giggle that slipped from his mouth, his hands coming up to his hair in embarrassment but only coming in contact with the material of his cap, forgetting he was even wearing it.
"Also, are you forgetting something?"
Eric furrowed his eyebrows, tapping his pen on his notebook, trying to figure out what exactly it was he was forgetting. Was it your birthday? no, it can't be, Eric remembered there was still months to go before that. Maybe it's movie night again? Eric frowned, no, we had that yesterday.
"I give up," the blue-haired boy finally slumped his shoulders, dropping his pen onto the table and holding his hands out to you in a begging gesture. "What was it that i forgot this time?" he pouted, trying his best to ease his way out of trouble if you were angry at him.
Pushing the flyaway strands of your hair away from your face haphazardly as you turned to him, you mustered a look of disgust, "You were supposed to help me write my article about Spiderman for the newspaper club!" you frowned, hands finding their way to your hips. A look of realization flashed over Eric's features, making you sigh.
"I knew you'd forget, you're always busy with baseball or your job or playing games with Felix, it's a wonder you even agreed to help me with that paper in the first place." you sighed.
"Look, i'm really sorry it just slipped my mind...let me make it up to you?" he pleaded, earning a dirty look from you.
"Lunch is on you," you decided.
Eric's expression relaxed visibly, glad that that was what you'd decided on as a compensation, nodding his head at you with a smile, "Deal."
===
"And you're sure you don't need me to walk you back?" Felix asked, though you knew both him and his friend Changbin were hoping you would say no so they could head over to the computer cafe to play games.
You shot them a look, eyes narrowing at them as you gripped your laptop tighter in your arm, shooting Felix a tight-lipped smile.
"It's fine, if anything i'll just call Eric," Felix opened and closed his mouth quickly as if stopping himself from saying something, deciding on nodding firmly at you, waving goodbye to let you leave. Eric hadn't told you where the pet-shop was but you figured it didn't matter anyway since you never visited him there, but little did you know tonight you wouldn't have to.
"Hey! Stop!" You heard the clanging of bins and the heavy thudding of running footsteps, looking around to find the source of the sound when you saw someone running past you, knocking into you slightly but the impact causing them to lose their balance and stumble onto the floor. You figured he wasn't that innocent with the cds that had spilled out from his jacket when he fell. So you did what you figured anyone would've done in this situation, you stepped on his chest.
You heard a gust of wind before a light thud in front of where you and the man were, your breath getting caught in your throat when you realized that Spiderman was in front of you.
"I told you not to run, you can get all these cds at a sale!" the masked boy had waved his hands exasperatedly, squatting down and looking up at you when he'd seen that the man - or boy, he looked like he couldn't be much older than you -was still being held down by your leg. In your shock you had pressed your leg harder onto the boy, making him let out a pained groan which fell on your deaf ears.
"Uh..." Spiderman cleared his throat, and your eyes widened expectantly, not realizing your foot was still on the boy's chest until Spiderman gestured a covered finger towards it.
"Oh! sorry, i just you know, thought it would help keep him down.." you blurted, removing your leg quickly and taking a step back from the boy. Spiderman cleared his throat, mustering a deeper, more authoritative voice, or his 'Spiderman voice' as Felix liked to call it.
"Thanks for helping me stop this guy, i really owe you one." Spiderman told you, making you flush, shaking your head at him out of courtesy.
"No problem....Spiderman?" Said boy let out a small giggle, sounding oddly familiar to you but you were too busy observing him clear away the cds and let the boy go to say anything.
"Don't do it again or i'm telling your mom!" you frowned in confusion as you watched the boy scramble off the floor and run off.
"His mom?"
"His mom's the owner of the bakery across the street from the cd shop, she'd kill him if she knew he was doing this." Spiderman stood up, dusting the knees of his suit before turning to you, and you were practically itching to remove his mask.
"So.....kind citizen, how may i repay you?" he said, sounding an awful lot like he was in a period drama, making you laugh, though you couldn't say you had no idea what you wanted him to do either.
He spent a solid minute shifting his weight from leg to leg while waiting for your answer. "What's your name?"
"E-" Spiderman stopped himself, lengthening the vowel so he sounded like he meant to scold you instead. "Foul play, pretty citizen," Eric mentally slapped himself for being so gullible, resisting the urge to scream when you tilted your head at him, not sure why the sudden confidence was taking over you in front of the masked superhero.
"Pretty?" Spiderman was thankful for the mask hiding his face because he was sure he'd never felt so hot underneath the mask.
"Not a valid question, next," he blurted quickly, making you laugh.
"It's okay, Spiderman. You probably don’t have time to answer my questions anyway,” this struck a cord with Eric, feeling as though you were talking to him instead of just talking to Spiderman, rushing to your side and waving his hands in dismissal, “No, noo! I do have time! I’m on duty right now, i’m making sure you get home safely!” he assured you, a skeptical expression making its way onto your face.
“On duty, huh?” you repeated, “Say, Spiderman, you couldn’t possibly explain to me why you became Spiderman in the first place, could you?” you asked, seeing his hand go up to his head, unconsciously starting to walk together with you in the direction back to your place.
“You know, i didn’t know exactly, either. I just thought...it’d be nice to try to make a difference in this town, even if it was just a small difference.”
“I think you’re pretty cool,” you spoke, your gaze still directed forward, looking at the glow of the buildings cast from streetlamps, “What you do, i mean,” you corrected.
“You do?” He replied a little too quickly, clearing his throat before shrugging, “I mean, yeah, it’s just...what it is.”
“You don’t mind, right?” you asked, “Me asking you all these questions. I mean, i heard from my friend Eric that you’re a pretty low-key guy so i was kind of shocked you were actually going along with my questions,” you adjusted your grip on the things you were carrying, shoulders starting to feel sore from carrying them for so long.
“Here, lemme get that for you.” Spiderman reached his hand over to try to take your things, but you were quick to refuse, “There’s really no need for that, i’m fine-“
“I’m only helping a kind citizen after a long day,” he shrugged, and when he put it that way, oh, how tempting it was. So you did let him carry your things, besides, no one would know. Especially not Eric, oh Eric would tease you for days if he found out Spiderman carried your laptop and books home for you.
“Are you embarrassed?” Spiderman asked you, and because of how familiar he felt, his Spiderman voice was gone, and strangely, you didn’t even notice. You shook your head vigorously, letting your hair cover your face before finally squeaking out a, “Okay, maybe a little bit.”
You heard Spiderman let out a small huff of laughter, “That’s cute.”
Your head snapped around quickly so you could glare at him, turning onto the street of your house, “Is it part of your job description to flirt with kind citizens?”
He shrugged, and Eric wasn’t sure where he’d gained this new-found confidence around you but he was strangely thankful for it, “Maybe only the ‘you’ kind of kind citizens?” he laughed, realizing you had reached your house already.
“My friend Eric’s gonna be stoked if i tell him i met you.” you smiled, taking your things back from Spiderman, seeing him step back and nod at you. “Sure is,” he told you.
You couldn’t help but find what he said similar to what Eric usually says to you, not being able to help yourself with your next statement.
“You know...you kind of remind me of him,” you adjusted your bag strap on your shoulders, scrutinizing his mask before shaking your head, “Nevermind, pretend i never said anything. Goodnight, Spiderman,” you smiled, waving at him.
Whipping your phone out, you went to yours and Eric’s chat
10:43pm -you would not BELIEVE who i just saw-
===
Eric wasn't sure what kind of stupid had posessed him to say he'd enjoy hearing about your encounter with Spiderman, but he'd decided after the 3rd time of hearing the same story repeated to different people that he really hated it. I mean, it wasn't as if Eric wasn't Spiderman, it was just hearing you say over and over again that Spiderman was so 'cute!' and 'kind!' and 'had a great butt!' was just starting to get on Eric's nerves, knowing you would never describe him that way.
You'd found Eric's reaction to your Spiderman story rather unusual, since you was usually so used to Eric being excited to tell you about Spiderman and what he 'researched' about him. But you figured maybe he was just tired of hearing the same story. Not that you cared but still.
You were currently seated at the bistro that you, Felix and Eric frequented, spread out across the cushions of your usual booth, your legs spread out in front of you while Felix chose to squeeze with Eric.
Felix's phone had buzzed, and the boy's eyes lit up upon reading the message. "You guys going for the halloween party? One of my friends just sent me the details."
"Halloween party? Like the one we went to last year?" you leaned forward in an attempt to read from Felix's phone.
"The one i went dressed as a princess for?" Eric's eyes widened and you laughed at the memory.
"Yep," Felix nodded, "Its being thrown by the same person, so you guys are invited too."
"Oh my god, we should coordinate our outfits this year too!" Felix cheered, earning a mock look of disgust from you, but nodding nonetheless.
"Wait, maybe not. Cause i was thinking about going as Spiderman," Felix continued.
You let out a satisfied sound at Felix's mention of Spiderman. "I'm telling you, Felix, there's something about Spiderman that's just so.....so-it gets me, you know what i mean?" you spoke, gaze directed at the tv screen in the bistro.
Felix exchanged a knowing look with Eric, whose eyes widened and slurped his drink hurriedly. You were waiting for Felix reply when Eric had handed you his powerbank, asking if you could help him put it in his bag, only realizing a little too late that he'd forgotten to specify which pocket of his bag. And it wasn't as if he could risk having you see his crumpled up Spiderman suit in there.
Bending down and unzipping the back pocket of his bag, you shuffled around for his pouch before catching a flash of red and blue latex at the bottom of the bag, your hand withdrawing from the material when you realized the implications of it, just as you heard Eric add in a, "Front pocket, please."
As if the timing couldn't be any better, you heard Felix chime in with what he thought about Spiderman.
"I mean, when you think about it, i'd say he's pretty similar with Er- ouch!" Felix glared at Eric, mouthing for him to trust him before you sat up, furrowing your eyebrows at Felix, "Nothing, just hit the table adjusting my legs," he told you casually.
"Anyway as i was saying, i think he's pretty similar to Eric," you frowned, the new knowledge of what was in Eric's bag making you think of the incident happening with Eric in Spiderman's place, the idea threatening to make your face heat up.
"Oh my God, no no, don't make it weird, shut up, Felix," you dismissed the thought quickly, not wanting Eric to feel uncomfortable as well, since after all, you did say Spiderman had a cute butt.
Eric looked at you with a confused expression, before grinning quickly and laughing along with you. "Yeah....shut up, Felix," Eric looked down into his smoothie, hoping the shadow would hide his blush.
"You guys suck, i'm speaking some truth here, you know?" Felix huffed, sinking further into his seat, Eric simply choosing to shrug as a reply.
"Whatever, Felix. Just text me the details of the party, i'm gonna head back to my office now. Lunch break's almost over," you told them, Eric nodding in reply, while Felix gave you a wave, shooing you away.
Felix turned to his friend once you'd left, nudging the boy on the shoulder. Eric slumped onto the cushion of the booth, groaning loudly, attracting attention from some of the diners.
"I'm screwed. She's gonna fall for Spiderman and then they're gonna get married and then she's gonna see me as her stupid friend for the rest of her life," Eric whined, making Felix frown in confusion, an amused lilt to his tone when he replied.
"Bro, i think you're forgetting a really important detail..." Eric's head whipped around so he could glare at Felix for interrupting his crisis.
"What now, Felix?"
"You are Spiderman, dude!" Eric's mouth formed an 'o' shape in realization, eyebrows raising as he straightened up in his seat, taking a long sip from his smoothie.
"Right, forgot." Eric stared pensively at Felix, "But how am i supposed to reveal that to her? What kind of elaborate plan can i possibly make?" Eric pouted, earning a grin from Felix.
Shrugging, the blonde haired boy spoke, twirling the un-used straw between his fingers, "Who knows, maybe it'll be easier than you think."
Which was worse, to have shown up at the halloween party with Felix dressed as Spiderman, or the fact that Eric was nowhere to be seen, you couldn't decide. You'd been calling Eric multiple times that night, but a sudden bank robbery had taken Eric from you that night.
"Will you at least help me bring my costume?" he had blurted hurriedly to Felix, who was already dressed in his Spiderman costume. Nodding to appease Eric, Felix waved his hands in dismissal.
"Dude, really, don't worry about it, i got you covered. Just go do what you have to do," Eric had nodded, already rushing to leave.
"And remember to turn off your phone!"
"Already did!" Eric called back.
He didn't.
Now Eric was fighting a robber with Ariana Grande's voice singing ‘One Last Time’ blasting out of his pocket.
Holding the robber off with a kick, the burly man stumbling back slightly, Eric saw the caller id as your name.
Picking up the phone quickly, trying to divert the robber's attention by jumping from place to place to tire him out. "Eric, where are you? You said you'd be here an hour ago!" you sounded more than disappointed, making Eric let out a small groan.
"I'm sorry! Really, just-something came up, and i needed to," he let out a small grunt when he'd landed on the floor a little ungracefully, "settle it. I swear, i'll be there soon."
"The party's getting boring without you, if you're not there in 30 minutes i'm leaving!" you announced, hanging up quickly. Eric whined loudly, dodging a punch from the robber as he put his phone back.
"Look man, I really don't have time for this right now," Eric threw a few webs around the man to stop him from moving, removing the mask from the man's face. "Remember to smile for your mug shot!" he laughed, dialing the police before leaving quickly, shooting webs and swinging himself from apartment building to apartment building, desperately trying to get to the party before you left.
Calling Felix was no use, the boy was already lost in the party, probably even forgetting he had a phone with how much fun he was having. It was only when Eric saw Felix over at the ping pong table did he manage to get his attention.
The blonde boy turned around, "Oh what, same costume? Not cool, man," Felix groaned, earning an eyeroll from Eric that he couldn't see anyway. "Felix, its me," Eric told him.
Felix stared blankly at the suit-clad boy before realization struck him, "Oh!" he shouted, immediately taking Eric aside into the nearest room he could find, ripping off Eric's mask and letting out a loud gasp when he saw the bruise on Eric's jaw.
"That looks rough, what happened?"
"No time for that right now, Felix, where's Y/N?" Eric made as if to go find you but was stopped by Felix's arms on his shoulders. "Woah, man, no way i'm letting you go around with this bruise on your face."
"It's fine, I'll just wear my mask."
Felix gave him an uncertain look, looking fairly hesitant but shaking his head disapprovingly, "Last i checked she was in the kitchen? But i'd suggest you avoid the crowd now, they're gonna lose their shit when they realize Spiderman is here."
Eric groaned, knowing Felix was right, which was why Felix didn't have a mask on. "Okay, i'll just go wait on the rooftop. Just give me a text when you find her."
Eric swung himself onto the roof with ease after leaving the building briefly. Putting on his mask, he lay down on the floor of the roof, starting to feel tired from fighting.
Pulling his phone from his pocket, he saw that you'd sent him more texts asking where he was.
In his fatigued haze, he didn't bother thinking when he'd replied you,
9:50pm -im at the rooftop-
Putting his phone aside, Eric looked at the sky through the muffled view he got through his mask, too tired to process the sound of the rooftop doors opening until he heard your voice.
"Felix? What the hell are you doing here? Eric told me i could find him here and when i get here he's not here again," you stomped your foot weakly, sitting down next to what you assumed was Felix's lying form.
"Stupid Eric," you huffed, "You even told me he was definitely gonna be here! All i wanted was a nice night with stupid cute Eric and have a good time but it's just not going how i wanted it to go."
"How did you want it to go then?" Eric finally spoke, making your breath get caught in your throat when you realized the person next to you really wasn't Felix.
"Er-" you stopped yourself, not sure if you wanted to let him know you knew just yet. Though at this point, Eric was too tired to bother about that.
"Spiderman?" Eric huffed at the name.
"That's me, good ol' friendly neighbourhood Spiderman," he shrugged, sitting up and reaching a hand to fiddle with the material covering his calf.
"I'm sure whoever this Eric person is, he probably didn't mean to leave you here without a reason, you know?"
You stared at him in disbelief, narrowing your eyes at him. "Uh-huh," you crossed your arms over your chest, "Just kinda sucks when you have the boy you like right in front of you still lying to your face," you shrugged.
"What?" Eric tilted his head in confusion, caught off guard when you reached a hand over to yank his mask off of his head.
"That's better," you smiled, enjoying the shocked look on Eric's face, his now slightly faded blue hair sticking up in various places because of the mask.
"How are you not shocked?" Eric spoke, hands waving around frantically, expecting a much more extreme reaction from you than what he had gotten.
"To be honest with you, I knew since that day at the bistro when i was putting your stuff back into your bag. Saw your suit," you explained, seeing him lie back down, his hands covering his face.
"God, i'm really stupid, aren't i?" Eric removed his hands, revealing his giddy smile to you. "To save your last bit of pride, i'm not answering that," you smiled back.
"Correct me if i'm wrong," Eric began, his gaze on the mask you fiddled with in your hands. "You know, sometimes it's hard to hear under the mask, but....did i hear you refer to me as the boy you like?"
"Nope," you said, face completely serious as you watched Eric's expression fall, "Oh,"
"Eric, i'm kidding. I totally did." Eric's hand moved to cover the lower half of his face, blush creeping onto his cheeks.
"Good, cause you're the girl i like too," he told you casually. Making your mouth gape open in shock.
"Is it just me or does your confidence just become crazy whenever you put on this suit?" you told him with a laugh.
"Maybe," he shrugged, "you know, Spiderman's a real lady killer." You laughed, shaking your head at him. "Oh, i'm sure."
You were sat in-between the open space of his legs, with himself still lying on the ground, "He's got all sorts of tricks, it'd be hard to resist him at all, not my words, his," you scoffed. Eric was having fun with this, finally feeling fully comfortable and at ease after the unnecessary worrying about what you would think.
"Care to demonstrate said tricks?" Eric placed a hand on his chin thoughtfully, pretending to consider your challenge, his ‘Spiderman' confidence taking over him as he shot a web to the wall facing him, "gladly," he told you. Using the wall as leverage, he lifted himself to sitting position and pressed a soft kiss to your lips.
Pulling away and standing up quickly as if nothing had happened, he shot you a smile as he held his hand out to help you up.
"Real lady killer, isn't he?"
Concept: Opening presents
Dialogue: “Merry Christmas” & “Do you like it?” “I love it” & “Why are you staring at me?” “Nothing… you just look really cute right now”
December 25th
Peter is awakened by a knock on the door. He can hear someone speaking but he is too sleep to comprehend what it’s happening. He snuggles further into the warm and goes back to sleep but a few moments later someone kept knocking on the door.
“Damn. Who’s not getting the idea that I want to sleep late?” MJ said and pulled Peter closer
“PETER! MJ! WE NEED TO OPEN THE GIFTS!!!! COME ON!! WAKE UP!!!” Now Peter got who was calling their door
“We should go, Em. She is going to throw that door if we don’t go out” Peter yawn and MJ stretched out on the bed
“Hey peanut” Peter opened the door and Morgan ran to the bed and started jumping on it
“WE CAN OPEN THE PRESENTS NOW! LET’S GO! MJ WAKE UP”
“I’m awake. We can go!” MJ did her best getting out of bed with Morgan jumping on the bed
Peter took a hoodie from his bag before joining Morgan and MJ to the living room. Everyone was already there but nobody looked fully awake, just Morgan.
“Morning everyone” Peter said hi and everyone mumbled a few things back at him
“Do we have coffee?” MJ was looking at everything on the coffee table
“Yes. We have some here” Happy offered them two mugs with warm coffee and they took it
“Can we open the presents now mom? We are all here!” Morgan was jumping next to the tree. Peter haven’t noticed but the tree was actually full of packages
“Yeap. You can distribute them and open yours” After Pepper gave her approval, Morgan grabbed the gift that was closer to her.
“This one is from Peter to my dad” Morgan handed the package to tony and he started opening it
“Aww. This is so cute! Thanks Pete. I’m putting them on the lab” Tony placed the Iron Man and Spider-Man plushies next to him on the couch. Morgan picked a second package
“This one is for Uncle Happy” He received the big present and opened it
“Morgan this is amazing! Thank you little one” Happy started to show May all the bakery supplies Morgan got him. Then she grabbed two presents and hand it them to May and Pepper. They opened broke the paper and opened the shoe boxes Morgan got for them. May gasped at the heels and Pepper kissed Morgan’s check to thank her
“This little one is from Peter to Betty” Betty took the little box and when she opened she found a blue bridal hair comb. The comb was silver with little silver and sapphire blue leaves
“Peter this is beautiful. Thank you so much!” When Ned tried to look at what was in the box Betty closed it “You can’t see it yet, Ned”
“Morgan helped me find it. I thought you would need something blue” Morgan lifted another package and announced that it was from Tony to Pepper. Pepper took the letter size package, everyone was expecting Pepper to open it and when she did, two plain tickets to India
“India?” Morgan read and asked her dad
“India like Uttaranchal because your mom haven’t stop talking about how much she would like to go to that amazing place where they have yoga and meditation classes and a beautiful spa. So yes, India”
“You were actually paying attention to my rambling about Uttaranchal”
“I’m always paying attention to you. No matter what you’re doing or what I’m doing” Pepper kissed Tony and thanked him for the trip. They do needed to relax a little bit
Morgan kept grabbing presents and giving them to their respective owners. Happy gave May a beautiful pearl necklace and May gave Happy a gastronomic tour for New York. Betty gave Peter a new lens for his camera and Ned gave Peter a new intercom for the suit. Morgan gave his dad her present and he totally loved it and even told Pepper he was going to wear those Iron Man shorts to their trip. Pepper gave Tony a free pass to get as many cheese burgers as he wanted over the year. Then Morgan found one of her presents
“This is for me!!” She started to tear the wrapping paper and found the Rescue helmet she used to wear a few years back as a toy
“We talked and decided it’s time for you to have it” Pepper explained to Morgan when she looked at them trying to find an explanation “You are always with your dad on the lab, you played with this a few years back. We think it’s time for you to have it. I can’t take that away from you”
“That doesn’t mean you can start using it now. You will need training and mentoring. It’s just an approval of what you can and eventually will do” After Tony and Pepper talked Morgan threw herself at them and kissed their checks
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Peter can be my mentor, dad? And you of course!”
“I would love that peanut” Peter offered his help and Morgan blew him a kiss. Morgan went back to the gifts. MJ gave Betty a swimsuit and Ned gave her tickets to the Philippines to meet the rest of his family. MJ also gave May and Happy and Pepper and Tony some spa reservations. After a while, Morgan noticed there were missing presents
“Peter. Where is MJ’s present? Please tell me you didn’t forget to pick it up”
“No I didn’t forget it. It’s on my pocket” He pulled a small round box from his hoddie and gave it to MJ
“Merry Christmas, Em” MJ opened the box and found a necklace. A black glass Dahlia was between a soft fabrics. She took it out of the box and the Dahlia shinned in front of her. She didn’t say anything and Peter was starting to worry about it, maybe she didn’t like it
“Do you like it?” He had to ask or he was going to die of embarrassment right there in front of everyone. Peter was overthinking about the necklace until MJ finally spoke
“I love it” MJ moved her eyes from the necklace to Peter and without another word gave him a soft kiss on the lips. “My present for you is quite confidential so I have it in my bag” Everyone was looking at them with soft eyes and Morgan was too focused on the last gifts there were under the tree. All of them were for here. May gave her a dress Morgan saw on internet and wanted to get. Pepper gave her the same free pass she gave to Tony so they could go together without Tony sharing his pass. May and Happy gave her some science equipment she could use to not monopolize his dad’s lab and start her own.
After they finished open all the presents, Peter noticed MJ didn’t gave Morgan a present
“Morgan, can you come with me please? Peter, come with us?” MJ called Morgan and the two girls walked out of the living room with Peter close by. MJ lead them to their room and closed the door behind them
“Morgan, remember what I told you about trusting people with big secrets?” MJ asked Morgan while looking for something on her bag
“Yeap” Morgan nodded while looking at MJ
“Well, I have something to tell you. For me trust is a huge gift that I don’t give to everyone. And what I’m about to share with you, I hope will be part of your new journey with the nice suit your parents gave you” Right there, Peter understood what was on her bag
“Have you heard something about someone people is calling Black Cat?” MJ asked and Morgan turned to look at Peter
“She knows who I am Peanut” Morgan showed how surprised she was at the information and nodded to MJ
“I know she was stealing some money and things from other people but I saw her on the news a few days ago. She wasn’t hurting anyone and she left with you Peter” As much as she talked, Morgan started to realize what was happening “You are Black Cat, MJ”
“I am. And I know you have seen some things but I’m doing it to help” While MJ spoke, she pulled her leather suit out of her bag along with a folder full of papers “This is your present Peter” She handed him the folder and he found a way of ending Prowler along with his fellows.
“This folder has all the documents you need to put them in jail. I can’t do it or they will link all of this to Miles but you can do it. If you knock them like last time and enough time for the police to get them, they are going to jail and we will be fine, Miles will be save” Peter overlooked the papers and found bank statements, mails and chats with Dr. Ock’s plans.
“Who’s Miles?” Peter and MJ forgot that Morgan was still with them until she spoke. When they looked at her, she was wearing MJ’s Black Cat mask and wig
“A friend. The reason behind all I did. The equipment and money I stole, it was all to keep him save”
“Thank MJ. This will be really helpful. Maybe I can take it to the lab and tell Karen to scan this and send the docs to the cops once I get them” Morgan was going to say something more but Peter and MJ’s phones started ringing. They shared a look and took their phones out of their pockets
“Manhattan. Rhino’s back and not alone” Peter showed MJ someone’s photo from Manhattan that showed Rhino and Prowler together. They were trying to destroy a building
“You have to go Pete?” Morgan took of the wig and mask and handed them to MJ
“Yeah Peanut, I’m calling the helicopter for my venom formula and letting Karen scan this files”
“I’m going with you” MJ grabbed her leather suit and got to the bathroom to change
“You have your suit here, right Peter?” Morgan walked to the door and after Peter gave her a confirmation she closed the door behind her. Two minutes later MJ came out of the bathroom with her suit, mask, wig and belt on.
“Ready?” Peter looked at her and he froze. He always looked at Black Cat in the dark and the last fight let him so shock he didn’t take a close look at her. The suit embraced all her curves, her long legs were even longer with the high heels she was wearing and now the mask did nothing to hide her brown eyes. MJ noticed he hadn’t said anything in a while snapped her fingers in front of him “Peter? Spider-Man?”
“Sorry. I’m ready. I called the helicopter, we let the file on the scanner, take the web formula and we will be in Manhattan in five minutes by far”
“Then let’s go. No time to waste” Peter took his mask from the bed and took MJ’s hand before going out of their room. Their went down the stairs and found everyone on the living room looking at the TV
“Tony we are leaving. Ned I need you on the intercom with me. May, everything it’s going to be fine. I promise. We have a plan” When Peter and MJ looked at everyone Peter found lots of shocked faces
“MJ?” Betty was looking at MJ with big eyes, like she couldn’t believe what was in front of her. MJ froze and looked at everyone on the living room, the only normal faces were Tony, Ned and Morgan
“I can explain, but not now. We have to go. Betty I promise I will tell you everything when we come back”
“I knew about Peter, but you?” Peter looked at Ned with lots of questions between them “He didn’t tell me. I’m a journalist, I’m not blind and you guys don’t speak as soft as you think”
“Now I’m offended I didn’t find out being your roommate” When they left the house, the helicopter was already waiting for them.
Once in the helicopter the facilities were a few minutes away from them. MJ had the folder and as soon as they landed, they took it to lab and while Peter grabbed the formula and the special web shooters, the chemicals were strong enough to damage his normal web shooters, MJ put the files into the scanner and told Karen to send the files to the police when Peter told her to.
“Peter, doesn’t someone need to change the files or pages on the scanner? Karen can’t do that”
“Karen can’t, but Dum-E can” Peter ran to the lab next to his and brought some mechanical arm with him and gave the arm the order of changing the pages or flick the pages if needed “Don’t mess this up Dum-E. I trust you!” The arm did a few bip sounds and started working. Peter walked to the front door and MJ followed him close by.
“Should we arrive together?”
“No, you go first. I need to make sure they don’t see me coming. You will be fighting Rhino and Prowler but we still have to go after the others. If Dr. Ock shows up, I will tell you” Peter gave MJ a short kiss before putting his mask and swing away from her. She waited a few minutes and started moving between building too.
Peter asked Karen for Rhino’s location and as soon as he got it, he swayed faster to the point a little map in his mask showed him. There weren’t a lot of citizens on the streets, but cops and reporters were everywhere
“Rhino, seriously? I was having a good time. Let me guess, Santa didn’t bring you a present and now you are mad” All Peter got was some grunts from Rhino. He took the opportunity to shoot some of the venom webs at his mouth and face. The chemicals started to ruin Rhino’s armor just like Peter had expected
“Michelle is dealing with Prowler, Peter” Karen spoke in his mask and Peter tried to shoot some webs to weak points that Karen showed him
“Ned?”
“Right here Peter” Ned spoke clearly in his ear. The new intercom worked pretty well
“Can you see what MJ is doing?”
“My girl’s kicking some asses” This time Betty was the one to answer him
“Ned where are you?” Peter was swinging between some buildings to avoid Rhino’s punches.
“Living room. Everyone can listen to you” Perfect, he didn’t want May hearing one of his fights, she worried too much and probably Tony will have an opinion on the fight or something he would say, Tony always had an opinion. And Morgan will definitely make fun of him for something later. Pepper and Happy just supported him through everything
“Is Dr. Ock somewhere?” Peter asked Karen and Ned in case one can see it and not the other
“Nope. MJ is with Prowler and you take care of Rhino” Peter had Rhino’s armor almost fully covered in webs and he could barely move
“Karen, tell MJ I’m almost done with Rhino”
“Yes, Peter”
Rhino was covered in the webs and the chemical began to interfere with the mobility of his arms and legs. Rhino started to rip some armor off him. When he took his helmet off, the face of a redhead man appeared and Peter told some cops they had to be careful when they captured the man. He started looking for MJ and saw her and Prowler on the rooftop of a building. He moved fast climbing a wall and arrived when Prowler shoot compressed air blasts at MJ. She fell back and Peter shoot some webs at Prowler
“Let me handle him. This is between us” MJ told Peter over the intercom and he took a few steps back. He knew she needed to do it on her own terms but he wasn’t letting her get hurt either
“Look who’s here, Cat. Don’t you want to take part Spider?”
“Nop. I’m here for moral support or just make fun of you” Peter pretended to check his nails and he was just watching his gloved hand. MJ saw that Prowler was distracted and threw the loop at him. Linking his arms to his body, with the restriction, he couldn’t move or throw more things at her
“Sorry you missed the fight, you made it till the end” MJ moved to Prowler and tied more ropes on his body to make sure he wasn’t moving or escaping. Peter surrounded him with a web and moved him to where Rhino was on the ground.
“You ok, MJ?” Peter asked Michelle after he saw some scratches on her right arm
“Yeah, all good. He decided to use his new titanium claws on me but nothing to worry about. Tell Karen to send the files to every precinct in New York and we can go home” While he spoke to Karen, Peter grabbed MJ by her waist and took her to the rooftop they were minutes ago.
“Karen already send all the files. They are going to jail. I feel bad about Miles, he wanted to help his uncle to be a better person and now he is going to jail” Peter looked down at Aaron Davis, immobilized and covered in webs. His suit was damaged where the webs could touch the suit
“He understands. I hope he becomes a better man for all of those who have faith in him, like Miles and Jefferson” MJ grabbed Peter’s mask and moved it up above his mouth to give him a kiss
“Get a room!” Morgan shouted on their ears and Peter and MJ started laughing
“Ned is still in the living room” Peter explained MJ why Morgan was talking to them
“Yeah. We can see and hear everything. Also, there is a very nice shoot of you guys right now on TV with “Power Couple” as the headlight” Peter looked down again and saw a few cameras pointing at them. Thank God MJ didn’t remove his mask completely or his face will be all over the TV and Internet in a few seconds
“Let’s go back, Spider” MJ wrapped her arms around Peter’s neck and he shoot a web to another building to make them swing back to the facilities. Fifteen minutes later they were back on the cabin and everyone was waiting for them at the front door
“We are back and perfectly fine!” Peter assured them all
“MJ is hurt” Morgan pointed at MJ’s arm and May and Pepper moved back to the house quickly
“Let’s go inside” Happy lead them to the living room and turned off the TV that still had images of Rhino and Prowler being arrested. May and Pepper appeared with a first aid kit and MJ took of her wig and mask
“Can you take of that suit so we can clean the cuts?” Pepper spoke to her like a mother speaking to a little hurt kid
“I will need a little bit of help but maybe in the room” The three of them walked to the room on the second floor and Peter decided to go with them. He needed to be sure she was alright. May helped MJ with the zipper on the front of the suit and rolled down the suit from her arm. Pepper cleaned the cuts and then put some patches with a white cream MJ didn’t recognized on the area
“You should change those clothes. We will wait for you on the living room” May told them and she hugged Peter on her way out of the room with Pepper
“Better?” Peter closed the door behind him and walked to MJ
“Yeah. I think the adrenaline was holding back the actual pain but now I can definitely feel it”
“Want some painkillers? I saved a few from the other night” Peter walked to his night table and handed MJ some pills with a glass of water. MJ took them and drank the water
“I’m going to change on the bathroom” MJ grabbed some jeans and a shirt from her bag and walked to the bathroom but didn’t lock the door
Peter searched for his bag and took of his suit to change it for some jeans and a hoddie. When he was done he waited for MJ to go out of the bathroom
“I’m ready” MJ offered her hand to Peter and he took it. They walked together to the living room and Morgan threw herself at MJ with a big hug
“You are the best MJ!” Morgan said and everyone laughed a little. It was a big surprise for all of them to see her fighting someone on a leather suit “Can I show you something on my science lab that Uncle Happy and May gave me?” Peter saw MJ accepting Morgan’s offer and he decided not to go with them. Morgan had found a new role model in MJ and he wanted her to take the best out of it.
MJ sat on the floor next to the tree while everyone chatted and asked Peter about what was going to happen to Rhino and Prowler. Morgan sat on MJ’s legs and started showing her different things
“Why are you staring at me?” Peter didn’t notice but he was, in fact, staring at MJ with Morgan. They just fit together. He loved the image, his best friend and little sis bonding always amazed him, but this time it was different. MJ was now his girlfriend and the feeling of seeing them together was too much to handle
“Nothing… you just look really cute right now” Peter managed to say to MJ and she didn’t answer but blushed and a few second later, she kept talking to Morgan while the kid showed her some things from her little science lab
Now Peter could breathe more lightly. All his family and friends were together and save, no secrets between them and the future looked pretty good for all of them
“Hey Pete. Would you like to go out to watch the ocean with me for a little while?” MJ took him out of his mind
“Better if we see it from here, don’t you think? After all Baby, it’s cold outside”
Notes:
You know this all ended with many unfinished plots (Betty and Ned's wedding, Peter and Miles meeting for the first time, even Morgan and Miles interacting and more Black Cat/Spider-Man working together) and maybe I will do some second part telling how a few of this stories end up. Keep reading what makes you happy and have a lovely New Year :D
Why I Left (chapter8)
read it in ao3!
Summary:
“You are kidding, right?” Peter just shook his head slowly “Kid I’ve offered you multiple jobs here, paid internships, you could be one of the board members if you wanted to and you know that. If you’re looking for a job, please, I beg you, work here” Tony insist “My answer is gonna stay the same” Peter says rolling his eyes “Peter I will literally pay you for doing what you already do. I don’t beg for absolutely anything and I am begging you” Peter raises an eyebrow “If I wanted to work in a bigass tech company, I would definitely work for Hammer Tech” Peter teases
----
He skipped school the next day. Spent the whole night coding. He figured it out. However at this point the coding would be considered as 'hacking' by experts. Peter Parker, a sixteen year old from Queens, managed to hack FRIDAY and Karen overnight with nothing else other than his laptop, a single can of redbull, and a broken heart. He didn't feel good but he didn't care. The only person that he fully trusted stabbed him in the back. There were lots of emotions involved. He feels like he deserved it, because of how bad he is, he also feels betrayed for obvious reasons, he is mad because he let himself be fooled by it, but right now? He was numb. He had just one goal and it was to make the code unbreakable. And he was gonna get there no matter what. After all Tony Stark was the guy that taught him how to code. It took time but he got there eventually. When the protocol is activated, every live information will stop till it’s deactivated. That way, nobody can track him or know his vitals or contact him. Like he is gone. Now it was part two of the plan. Peter is going to tell everything to Tony and then disappear. He had to wait till next thursday but it was just a matter of time. When Thursday finally arrived, Peter immediately went to the Tower right after school. He didn’t even tell Happy that he was gonna swing his way there. When he arrived there Peter opened his room’s door and changed his clothes. Then went down to the lab without saying anything to FRIDAY. Tony was predictable enough to know that he is in the lab “Mr Stark” Peter says announcing his presence in the lab. Tony just cringed when he heard Peter “Cut it out kid. You know you can call me Tony” Peter just rolled his eyes “There’s something important I need to tell you, Mr stark” Tony turned around and smiled. A really comforting smile “Sure kid. Just ask for anything. Consider it done” And that’s when it clicked. “I may not be coming here for a few weeks” Peter days looking down. Tony’s smile dropped “What? Why? What happened?” Tony asks “May said that because I am sixteen should start helping them financially so I am going to get a job” Tony blinked at Peter’s answer “I even have an interview tomorrow as a photographer for the daily bugle” “You are kidding, right?” Peter just shook his head slowly “Kid I’ve offered you multiple jobs here, paid internships, you could be one of the board members if you wanted to and you know that. If you’re looking for a job, please, I beg you, work here” Tony insist “My answer is gonna stay the same” Peter says rolling his eyes “Peter I will literally pay you for doing what you already do. I don’t beg for absolutely anything and I am begging you” Peter raises an eyebrow “If I wanted to work in a bigass tech company, I would definitely work for Hammer Tech” Peter teases “I am gonna pretend you didn’t just say that. But please kid. Working here will look beautiful in a college application. And you won’t even need an interview. I have had the paperwork in my nightstand for a while now. You just need to sign it” Tony insists “I don’t think you got the part of ‘helping financially’ you know?” Tony glares at him “If you want a million dollars the minute you can just tell me. You say a number, I’ll make it happen” Peter raises an eyebrow “Tony, I really don’t feel comfortable working for you” Peter says. That doesn’t stop Tony “Thirty dollars the hour for every time you come here” Peter’s eyes widened “Tony! That is a lot of money! As in ‘more than the average teenager salary’ a lot of money!” Peter says “I can make it more if you want too” Tony adds “You know what? I’ll sign the damn paper if you don’t do that and just shut up so we can finally finish that damn robot” Peter says and Tony ruffles his curls “I’ll go look for the paperwork” And that is how Peter got away with it. Peter knows Tony enough to know that if he was looking for a job, Tony wouldn’t stop till he accepted any kind of job offer. Also, he knows that Tony will start to suspect something if he accepted right away, so he played hard. Tony had become predictable. That’s what got him. When Peter came home the next day, he told Ben that he got a job and that he quitted the internship. He also hid the MIT sweater right next to where he hides his spidersuit. Nowhere to be found. And the code? Peter called the protocol the ‘sicko mode’. It worked like a charm. If Peter didn’t know better, he would say that Tony would be disappointed. Ben would also be disappointed. May would be disappointed. But he knew better. Tony really didn’t care about him, and obviously Ben didn't either and May is not around. Even if she was, Peter highly doubts that she ever cared. In school this whole charade was harder. MJ’s been skeptical since the beginning but she hasn’t taken action, but that means that Ned is on her side because Ned knows that MJ is always right. Actually everyone knows that. “I am just asking, ok? If there was something going on in your life, you would tell us, right?” Ned asks and Peter rolls his eyes “Yep. I am fine guys. I swear” Peter says for the fifth time just since they entered the cafeteria “Are you coming to decathlon practice then?” MJ asks and Peter sighs “I told you I can’t. Mr. Stark needs me in the lab” Peter says, you know, like a liar “You’ve gone to ‘the lab’ everyday for two weeks now. The team needs you, loser” MJ says frustrated. Peter knows that. He knows perfectly well that without him the team could lose. “I am sorry. I promise I will tell him that I need a break from the lab” That was another lie. MJ sighed “Forgive me if I don’t believe you” MJ says going back to her book “I forgot! My mom bought the baby yoda Lego set!” Ned said changing the subject “Dude! No way! How many pieces?” Peter says excited “A thousand and seventy three! We gotta do it soon!” Ned says getting more excited “You two are actual losers. That’s why nobody hangs out with you” MJ says without looking up from her book “You hang out with us” Peter says raising an eyebrow and MJ scoffs “Do I?” MJ asks. Sometimes she can really be weird. Peter still liked her. He has to admit that after Liz, Peter had a crush on her, but he prefers being just friends now. The last thing he wants to worry about was his lovelife Truth is today didn’t suck. At least school didn’t. Right after school Peter went to the alley and got changed there. "Hello Peter" Karen says and Peter smiles "Hey Karen. Initiate 'sicko mode' please" Peter says shooting the first web to the building in front of him "Sicko mode activated. All live connections were cut" Karen says making Peter smile in sign of satisfaction "Thanks dear. So, what do you have for me?" Peter asks "There's a woman being robbed two streets to the left" Karen informed. It was gonna be a long night. Patrolling at night was ten times better. Peter loved seeing all the lights at night ot New York. He could enjoy the beauty of the only place in the world he knows. And the people that lived there were not the biggest fans of Peter, but they loved Spiderman. They needed Spiderman. Spiderman was the kind of hero that you can reach out when you’re being mugged or something like that. Something in the friendly neighbor level. Even though Peter knew he could do more he prefers laying low till it’s necessary. While Peter was patrolling in the other side of the city, there was our favorite man of iron in the lab not really doing lab "So you hired peter but decided to not tell May" Pepper asked "I forgot! And I am gonna tell her, ok? She will be proud of him, as she should" Tony says grabbing his phone "Can you put it on speaker?" Pepper asks and Tony just smiles and does as she asks. It took awhile for someone to answer the phone and Tony was disappointed when someone did answer "Who are you and why are you calling this number?" Tony and Pepper looked at each other when they heard a very not so chill Ben “Mr. Parker. This is Pepper Potts. Can I please speak to your wife for a second?” Pepper asked before Tony could say anything “Is this some kind of joke?!” Ben asks almost yelling “Uhh no? We want to talk to her about Peter” Tony clarified. After a few seconds Ben just sighted “Whatever he did, I will talk to him later. Have a nice day” Before Tony could argue back Ben hung up on them Pepper and Tony looked at each other thinking the exact same thing. There is something going on.
What do you think would happen if for some reason the Spiderverse team went to the mcu after FFH?
•  see, this could be funny, but realistically, I think peter would have trust issues
peter B: so I know this sounds crazy, but we’re all from different dimensions. we need your help— what are you doing?!
peter, thinking about how mysterio also claimed to be from another dimension: *aims his web shooters* oh nothing nothing. hey stand still :)
peter B: heY STOP IT
peter:
Tumblr media
•  if I were to personally write a version of this, I would make sure mcu peter is vital to everyone else getting to their respective dimensions. but plot twist, I would have him be super unwilling. like they need him in order to get home, but god is he annoying the whole time
•  it’s all a result of poor communication. spiderverse gang doesn’t communicate who they are well. mcu peter thinks they’re up to no good (maybe as a result of mysterio, maybe just because come on if you met multiple other people claiming to be your superhero identity, plus a spider PIG? a talking pig?????? would you not be VERY suspicious???)
•  but once again, mcu peter is vital. they need his help, willingly or not. they can’t just ditch him. they have to drag him with. shenanigans ensue.
•  like maybe they have to travel across NYC to get an item the need to go home, but how do they get mcu peter to come along without causing a scene?? cut to the spiderverse gang dragging him through NYC with them, all their suits on, pretending to just be a traveling spiderman troupe
•  do they need to go through a building?? cut to webbing mcu peter to a swivel chair and rolling him through office buildings really fast. they take turns riding on the back of the chair with him
•  they keep his phone away from him (for obvious reasons). maybe there’s a running gag of peter trying to reach his phone, and everyone just shouts “SWIPER NO SWIPING”
•  could they simply explain with better clarity why they’re in this dimension?? could they resolve the whole issue in a matter of minutes if they merely communicate?? absolutely! but no version of spiderman has a braincell so of course that doesn’t happen
miles: oh god oh god
gwen: miles what did you DO? I turn my back for ONE MINUTE—
miles: it was an accident!
peter B: you knocked him out BY ACCIDENT?! what were you THINKING?!
miles: he was making a lot of noise and I didn’t want someone to hear so I just bonked him on the head it wasn’t even that hard I promise—
peter B: HE’S NOT A BAD DUDE YOU DIDN’T NEED TO HIT HIM OH MY GOD
peter porker: well, on the plus side, he isn’t being noisy anymore!
gwen: that is definitely NOT the point here
•  of course tony monitors peter’s state of health so if he passes out suddenly and randomly?? tony is gonna be VERY concerned. helicopter parent mode. so while the spiderverse gang is arguing, they hear a commotion nearby and it gets closer and closer until tony just BUSTS down the door
tony:
Tumblr media
everyone else:
Tumblr media
•  they fight and it has the exact same energy as the scene in infinity war where team tony fights team guardians of the galaxy
tony: where is peter?!
peter B: I am peter!!
peter porker: I’ll do you one better... WHY is peter—
tony: not again—
peter porker: —HERE? why is peter here? why are any of us here? we’re from another dimension
gwen: yeah please help us
•  then, after tony’s intervention, they would have to explain the issue all over again (so they don’t get yote from the top of a building). and they go into full detail this time so peter just sits there like, “why didn’t you tell mE THIS I WOULD HAVE HELPED!!” new running gag with tony calling peter heartless because he didn’t help
•  peter: it’s not like that Mr. Stark, I swear!!
•  and with tony’s help, they can obviously find a way home!! and everyone gets along better so the shenanigans are no longer at the expense of poor peter :’) probably at the expense of tony instead. RIP team dad; it was nice knowing you. those kids are gonna tear you apart
•  peter B and tony bond over their adopted nerd kids. tony buys peter B a “#1 dad” mug before he’s sent home, but he crosses out the “1″ and puts “2″ with a sharpie. he adds, “because I’m the #1 dad!”
•  anyway the whole thing is soft and funny!!
Word Count: 4,427
Pairing: Peter Parker x Stark!Reader
Summary: It seemed like everything was going good with Y/N and her new friend, Peter. But Peter makes what could be the biggest mistake of his young life. Even though Y/N warns him, don’t throw it away, does Peter do it anyways?
“How was the internship?” Ned asked happily as he plopped down next to Peter at their usual lunch table.
“It was cool.” Peter answered, carefully choosing his words. He knew he couldn’t tell Ned about what the internship exactly consisted of, but he could be vague. “I met Tony Stark and his daughter.”
“You got to meet Tony and Y/N Stark? They’re like, living legends!” Ned said with excitement. “Did you see their suits?”
“I caught a glimpse of them.” Peter shrugged. “They’re working on some cool stuff.”
“Awesome!” Ned exclaimed quietly.
“Yeah, and Y/N said most of the work would be done at home but I could call her if I ever wanted to work at the facilities. It’s kind of an on-call deal as to when I’ll be here or there.”
“You have her number!?” Ned practically shouted.
“Keep your voice down!” Peter hushed him. “She said to call when I need something.”
“Dude, just call her.” Ned said to Peter. “You’ve been staring at what I assume to be her phone number forever.”
“I can’t just call her for no reason!” Peter argued. “She told me to call if I need anything. And I don’t need anything at the moment.”
“Well you need to talk to her. And this is getting embarrassing.”
“She hasn’t reached out to me since I last saw her. Do you think maybe she doesn’t want to talk? Maybe it was an empty gesture.”
“She wouldn’t have given you her phone number if she didn’t want to  talk to you.” Ned sighed in disappointment. As much as he loved Peter, he knew his friend was a dumbass. “Maybe you should start texting Y/N instead of whoever else you’re always texting.”
“I don’t text anyone!” Peter defended quickly, suddenly anxious that Ned had seen something he shouldn’t have.
“That’s the problem, Peter!” Ned sad, throwing his hands forward. “You’re not texting anyone! You have Y/N Stark’s phone number and you’re not doing anything about it. She’s a genius, dude. Smarter than you even. And you’re letting this opportunity fall through your fingers.”
“I’m not losing anything.” Peter shook his head, turning his attention elsewhere while Ned continued to talk. It’s not that he didn’t want to talk to Ned about you, but he knew he couldn’t talk to Ned about you the way he wanted to. He wanted to talk about how powerful you really were, how when you’re in your suit you act like you’re unstoppable, and how if he didn’t know any better he’d believe you were. Maybe he did believe that after all.
“What is she like in person? Is she funny? Sarcastic? I bet she’s confident, just like her dad. But not she rules the world, just like she knows she’s badass. I mean, she’s the youngest Avenger. She has to have some confidence, right? Nah, she definitely has to know sh-”
“Did Liz get a new top?” Peter interrupted Ned.
“Liz?” Ned asked, confused by the sudden change in topic. “No, we’ve seen that before. Just never with that skirt.”
“Should probably stop staring before it gets creepy though.” Peter said dreamily, momentarily forgetting all about Y/N and being sucked back into his crush on Liz.
“Too late.” Michelle announced from the other end of the table. Both boys turned to her quickly. “You guys are losers.”
“Then why do you sit with us?” Ned asked carefully while Peter made a gesture of offense.
“Cause I don’t have any friends.” She answered plainly. “Besides, how are you going to stare at Liz while talking about Y/N Stark?”
“You heard that?” Peter asked in a loud whisper.
“I’m pretty sure everyone did.” She replied using the same tone. “You’re not very quiet, Parker. If you have her number, just use it. What’s the worst that’ll happen?”
The bell rang after that comment, sending all of them to their classes. Peter tried to push through the rest of the day like normal. Finish class, go to decathlon practice, go on patrol. That’s the way his days always went. But for some reason, he couldn’t stop thinking about what Michelle had said at lunch.
How are you going to stare at Liz while talking about Y/N Stark?
It wasn’t like he was talking about you in any way other than a friend. You two were friends, right? New friends, but still friends. You had saved him a few times in Germany, and he helped take care of you afterwards. Cause that’s what friends do. That is what friends do, right?
The day seemed to drag until he finally got to decathlon practice. Peter didn’t want to quit and bail on the trip to DC, but he also knew he had to stay and be Spiderman. He had to make sure you and Mr. Stark didn’t regret giving him the suit. He had to take his responsibility as Spiderman much more serious now.
“Let’s move on to the next question.” Liz said to his other teammates. “What is the heaviest naturally occurring element?”
Peter wasn’t really listening to anything after that. It was obviously Uranium. He had to focus on explaining why he wasn’t going to Washington with his team.
“Peter… It’s Nationals.” Mr. Harrington tried to reason with the boy. “Is there no way you can take one weekend off?”
“I can’t go to Washington because if Mr. Stark needs me, or if Y/N Stark needs me, then I have to make sure that I’m here.” Peter said carefully.
“You’ve never even been in the same room as Tony Stark.” Flash commented from the back. “Let alone the same room as Y/N. She’s a total babe, no way she’s hanging with you.”
“Wait, what’s happening?” Peter’s teammate spoke up from the stage.
“Peter’s not going to Washington.” A teammate said from the floor.
“What?” The first teammate said as Abraham rang his bell. “No, no, no, no, no, no.”
“Why not?” Abraham asked.
“Really?” Liz asked sadly. “Right before Nationals?”
“He already quit marching band and robotics lab.” Michelle added casually, causing everyone to turn to her. “I’m not obsessed with him, just very observant.” She defended herself.
“Flash, you’re in for Peter.” Liz said over his shoulder, giving Peter one last look.
“Oof, I don’t know. I gotta check my calendar first. I got a hot date with Black Widow coming up.” Flash retorted, giving Peter a look.
Peter had to bite his tongue to keep from snapping on Flash and exposing his secret. He remembered the joke you made on the ride back to the states. He let a small smile grace his face as he thought of your laugh, your smile, your bright and hopeful eyes. He couldn’t believe how lucky he was to have you in his life.
Usually, patrols were fairly simple. Stop a mugging. Help an old lady across the street. He even helped someone get their bike back. He had given directions, and someone even bought him a churro. Until the ATM robbery. That night was so intense Peter wasn’t sure if he remembered it right.
There were weapons he had never seen before. He wasn’t sure he was going to come out of there on top. But he was Spiderman. He had to. That also happened to be the night Ned discovered Peter’s secret. Peter had to explain everything, which only gave him more stress than keeping his secret. He was scared that if Ned knew, he’d be in danger. But no one knew that Ned knew. So Ned would be okay, right?
He had to call you that night.
He held the phone to his ear as he laid in his bed that night. Instead of falling asleep or catching up on homework, he just stared at the ceiling and talked to you. “Hey, Y/N.” He smiled when you finally answered.
“So what are we calling this, exactly?” You asked your dad as F.R.I.D.A.Y. showed you blueprints for a new Spiderman suit. You were finally able to start easing back into your normal activities. You were medically cleared of your concussion, your ankle had dulled to an ache when you stood on it for too long, and your fracture and ribs were still healing. Movement of your upper body was less painful and you could breathe deeper without a sharp sensation.
“I don’t know. Iron Spider?” Tony shrugged, sliding across the lab in his desk chair to be by your side. “Has a nice ring to it.”
“And what about the suit we just gave him not too long ago?” You questioned, leaning on your dad’s shoulder.
“I have a new upgrade every so often. Same goes for the kid. You could also upgrade your own suit as often as you like. You just don’t.” Tony shrugged again, pushing you off by your forehead. “You designed his sensory filters so you’re on that first. Pull up your old designs and upgrade them.”
“I don’t even know how I did them, honestly.” You said, scrolling through the projected files to find your Project Parker files. “I’m pretty sure F.R.I.D.A.Y. did most of the work.”
“Well, figure it out.” Your dad with an eyeroll. “I’m staring to doubt if you’re really my daughter.”
“Haha, very funny.” You said sarcastically. “How am I supposed to upgrade these? I mean, just how clear does he need to see?”
“You know him better than I do, Y/N/N.”
“Yeah, but the upgrades are your idea.” You muttered. “Besides, Peter said they were perfect as they are.”
“Either way, they have to be redesigned.” Tony waved a hand dismissively.
“And why’s that?”
“New mask means new aesthetic design means reconfigured to a new shape.”
You and your dad spent hours flipping through designs. Some of them were nonsense scraps, things that you knew were unfathomable in the few hours you had to put it together that night, but now could be played around with. One of your personal favorites were the four additional appendages that are multi-functioned. Some things needed an overhaul from the start, something you weren’t happy with when you gave him the suit in general.
“Can we change the color?” You asked suddenly.
“Blue and red was your call, doofus.” Tony laughed.
“I know, but if he’s the Iron Spider now, shouldn’t his colors match if not coordinate with Iron Man?”
“Incoming call on Ms. Stark’s cell phone.” F.R.I.D.A.Y. announced before your dad could answer.
“Who is it?” You asked, not letting your attention shift from your past designs.
“Petey.”
“Petey?” Your dad asked with wiggling eyebrows. “Since when do you call him Petey?” Tony laughed.
“Answer it please. And put it on speaker. Thank you, F.R.I.D.A.Y.”
“Of course, Ms. Stark.”
“Hey, Y/N.” Peter said, the smile evident in his voice.
“Peter Parker, as I live and breathe. I was starting to think you didn’t want to talk to me.” You laughed lightly, noting a small flaw in the mask design. “What’s up?”
“Nothing much. Just thinking.”
“About?”
“There’s a trip to Washington this weekend with the decathlon team.”
“Cool. Take lots of pictures.” You said aimlessly, expanding your lens designs.
“I’m probably not going.” He chuckled nervously.
“Just go to Washington, kid.” Tony interjected.
“Mr. Stark, hey. Hi. How- how are you?” Peter said quickly.
“I didn’t get a ‘how are you’ and I’m a bit upset about it.” You teased.
“Look, we said keep your extracurriculars up. Didn’t we?” You asked, him humming an ‘mhmm’ in response. “That includes decathlon.”
“But what if something happens here?” Peter asked as he wandered aimlessly around the room. “I mean, I’ve been texting Happy but he’s been ignoring me.”
“Yeah, we know.” Tony laughed. “He’s been sending us screenshots of your messages. Congrats on the churro, by the way. Anyways, listen kid, we didn’t bring you with us to Germany for you to sit here and obsess over things you don’t even know are going to happen.”
“Dad’s right, Pete.” You agreed, swiping your design towards your dad. “Are you using the new nanotech for this suit? Cause if so, we could use nanite lens instead of expandable?” You asked Tony before turning attention back to Peter. “You can’t sit here and put your life on hold because of Spiderman, because of this internship. Your team is depending on you, aren’t they?”
“I guess. I mean, Flash is gonna stand in for me. And- and Mr. Harrington understands.” Peter tried to reason with you.
“So that means Mr. Harrington is very disappointed but knows he can’t force you to go.” You shook your head. “Peter, you’re brilliant but also so dumb.”
“Hey!”
“It’s true, kid.” Tony agreed. “Are the lenses retrofitted?”
“Custom cut. Mask was fit to the lens.” You shook your head. “Go to Washington. We’ll handle whatever is going on that you don’t want to leave for.”
“There’s nothing specific.” He tried to defend himself.
“Yes, there is. You’re a terrible liar.” You smiled slightly.
“No, I’m not.” He argued. Your silence was enough pressure and he caved. Sighing heavily, he continued. “There were these guys tonight, and I think they had like, alien weapons.”
“We’ll look into it.” Tony said carefully, looking at you with an interested but confused look. “Go to sleep, Peter. We’ll talk later. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”
“But don’t do anything he would do.” You joked.
“There’s a small gray area. And that’s where you operate.” Tony explained.
“Night, Petey.” You said, directing your focus on how to reconfigure the fit of the nanosuit versus the original. “How is this going to work? The mediums are completely different, there’s no way to transfer the program.” You asked your dad, who leaned over to see what you were looking at. Tony reached over your shoulder to touch and adjust your designs, but you smacked his hand away.
“Night, Y/N.” Peter said softly before hanging up. He knew you and your dad would look into it, but he also couldn’t sit by and do nothing.
As the week went on, things with those ATM robbery guys escalated. Peter met a guy with wings, chased the guys, found out they were selling the weapons, and decided on going to Washington. Only Peter wasn’t going to Washington for the decathlon. He had put a tracker on one of the guys and saw that’s where they were headed. He had to go and do something. Even though Mr. Stark told him to not worry about the guy with the wings when he had fished him out the lake, Peter didn’t have it in him to let something this big go. It was happening in his own neighborhood. It was his job!
“I thought you didn’t want to go to Washington.” You said when Peter answered the phone as he rode the bus with the team. “What changed your mind?”
“You did?”
“Are you asking me or telling me?”
“Telling you?”
“Why did you bring the suit?” You asked plainly. “You’re going for decathlon. You don’t need it.”
“I just didn’t want May to find it if I left it.” Peter lied.
“Hmm.” You paused, thinking about whether or not Peter would be telling the truth. “So I’m not going to see any news stories about Spiderman in Washington?”
“Course not. Don’t be silly, Y/N.”
“I’m trusting you, Peter.” You said through a sigh. “Don’t make me regret it.”
“You won’t.” Peter smiled in relief. He wasn’t completely sure you’d believe him but he was glad you didn’t question him anymore.
Later that night in the hotel room, Peter and Ned had the suit laid out on the bed. He had connected the suit to Ned’s computer, while Peter had a flashlight in his mouth as he tried to find the tracker. Ned sat with the laptop, watching the programs and code display themselves on the screen.
“Peter… Why are we removing the tracker from your suit?” Ned asked casually as Peter worked.
“Uh.” Peter said before taking the light from his mouth.  “Because I gotta follow these guys to their boss before they move again. And I don’t really want Mr. Stark to know about it.”
“What about Y/N? Why not tell her what you’re doing and she can talk to her dad?” Ned suggested.
“Y/N wouldn’t want me to do it either.”
“So you’re lying to Ironman now? And his daughter?”
“No, no, no. Not Lying.” Peter tried to explain. “They just don’t really get what I can do yet.”
Carefully, Peter peeled the tracker off the fabric. “Gotcha.” He said triumphantly as he held it up. “Alright, have fun tracking this lamp.” He said, sticking the tracker to the nearest lampshade.
Meanwhile, you were eating dinner with your family when this was happening. A small beep in your bracelet drew your attention.
-Tracker removed from Project Parker suit. Immediate maintenance required. Last known location: Washington, D.C.-
“What the hell?” You mumbled, swiping the notification away. You’d look into it later.
Back in Washington, Peter wasn’t quite done toying with his suit.
“There’s a ton of other subsystems in here.” Ned commented, scrolling through the code.
“Hmm?” Peter mumbled. He had remembered something you had said about there being more to what the suit could do but he never really gave that much thought.
“But they’re all disabled by the Training Wheels protocol.” Ned snickered.
“What?” Peter said quickly, jumping to see what Ned was seeing. “The Training Wheels Protocol?” Suddenly, he remembered something you had said in Germany.
Once the Training Wheels are off, I’ll show you what that suit is really capable of.
“Turn it off.” Peter demanded, now offended, He knew there was more his suit was capable of, but he never thought he had needed training wheels.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea.” Ned shook his head with a small laugh. “I mean, they’re probably blocked for a reason.”
Peter groaned before pushing himself up and climbing onto the other bed. “C’mon man. I don’t need training wheels.” He huffed and jumped in a circle on the bed. “I’m just sick of him treating me like a kid all the time. It’s not cool.” He pouted.
“But you are a kid.” Ned countered.
“Yeah, a kid who can stop a bus with his bare hands.”
“Peter, I just don’t think this is a great idea.” Ned tried again. “I mean, what if this is illegal?”
“Look, please. This is my chance to prove myself.” Peter said, kneeling by Ned’s bedside. “I can handle it, Ned, come on.”
“I really don’t think this is a good idea.” Ned told his friend.
“The guy in the chair.” Peter whispered, hoping it would be enough to convince him.
“Don’t do that.” Ned breathed with a shake of his head.
“C’mon.” Peter pushed.
Ned hesitantly sighed, but deactivated the Training Wheels protocol. The suit flashed, blue lights running the seams. A new alert was sent to your bracelet, interrupting dinner yet again.
“Again?” You scrunched your eyebrows.
“What’s the issue?” Tony asked, gesturing to your flashing bracelet.
-Training Wheels Protocol has been disabled at off-site location. Confirmation required. Stark Industry Key Identifier not entered. Immediate attention required. All systems are now active.-
“You’re kidding.” You mumbled as your bracelet flashed an alert. “I’m going to kill him.”
“What’s wrong, hon?” Your mom asked as you shook your head.
“Huh? Oh, nothing. Just a notification. Can I be excused for a minute?” You asked her and your dad.
“Sure.” Tony nodded. “Make sure you come back. It’s your turn to clear the table and do dishes.”
“Yeah, yeah.” You waved your hand before stepping into the hall.
“Y/N, oh my gosh, hi!” Liz answered your call. “I haven’t heard from you in forever!”
“I know! Sorry, everything has just been so busy around here.” You laughed lightly.
“I bet. With the new internship you have set up with Peter. That was really cool of you to do that for him, by the way.”
“Speaking of Peter, he went with the decathlon team, right?”
“Yeah. I think he’s still in his room. The rest of us are at the pool.”
“He didn’t wanna go with you guys?” You asked, checking the tracker on Peter’s suit. It still said the hotel. “Or did you not invite him?”
“Of course I invited him.” She said, hearing a hint of annoyance in her voice, annoyed that you’d even suggest she’d leave him out. “He just hasn’t come down. Why?”
“He’s not answering me. I thought maybe he was with you guys.” You shook your head again in disbelief. “It’s not important. I can talk to him when he gets back.”
“Well, maybe Ned can get a hold of him. Here, let me hand him the phone.” She said. Before you could protest, you could hear muffled voices within the transfer.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y., I need you to record this conversation with Ned Leeds. Discreetly, please. Send the file to my Project Parker folder. And keep it locked. My passcode only.” You said quickly. The system beeped and the recording began.
“Hi, Ned Leeds?” You asked when you heard a male voice through the phone. “Y/N Stark. How’s Washington?”
“Holy shit.” Ned sighed.
“Yeah, listen. I need to talk to Peter. He’s not answering my calls.” You said plainly.
“Well, the thing about that is- He’s not really around right now.” Ned said nervously.
“What do you mean, not around?” You pressed.
“Well not like he’s gone. He’s here. In Washington. With us. He’s just busy?”
“Busy doing what? I swear to God I will go to that hotel right now and beat the information out of you myself, Leeds.” You said, your patience running thin. “You’re going to tell me what that boy is up to. Everything that you know, do I make myself clear?”
“He’s just stretching his legs, getting the hang of some new resources.” Ned hurried. “He’s not doing anything wrong.”
“Then why are you so nervous?”
“I’m not nervous!” He replied quickly. “And Peter is fine. He’s just upgraded his old programs.”
“Upgraded?” You paused for a moment, wanting to check something. “Hold on, Ned. Don’t go anywhere.”
“F.R.I.D.A.Y., I need to see Peter’s live feed. Send me the video from the Baby Monitor protocol.” You said, watching your phone show you what Peter was seeing. You saw him in an old storage building, where scraps from the past battles were stored. You watched as he filtered through different web options, vocalizing small questions and comments as he went. “Son of a bitch.”
“Uh, Y/N?” Ned said, pulling your attention back to him.
“Did you know?”
“What?”
“The suit, you moron. You two are bunking together. Did. You. Know?” You asked carefully. You could feel the anger bubbling in the pit of your stomach. You were beyond pissed.
“Yeah, I knew.” He said hesitantly.
“Did you help?” You challenged. “That’s a complex, multi-million dollar suit. It’s not something that can just be hacked whenever. So I’m going to ask one last time. Did you, Ned Leeds, help hack the suit?”
“It may have been from my computer.” He slowly confessed. “I told him it was a bad idea. I didn’t want to do it but he kept saying I was his guy in the chair. I told him it was probably illegal, and now we’re going to jail. Aren’t we? Oh my god.” Ned said in a panicked voice.
“You have better have a good explanation as to why before I kill you both.” You hung up quickly before dialing Peter.
“Would you like me to save the audio file, Ms. Stark?” F.R.I.D.A.Y. asked as you waited for Peter to answer.
“No, just delete it.” You sighed. “Ned doesn’t need to get dragged into this more than he already is. He obviously didn’t want anything to do with it. Peter’s the one to blame.”
No answer.
“Peter Parker, I know you are not ignoring my calls. I know you are not that stupid.” You said plainly. “And if you are, you are going to be in deep shit with my dad. You’re lucky I got the notification that the suit was tampered with and not Tony. Actually, I know you’re not ignoring me because I saw your feed. You’re in a goddamn Damage Control Deep Storage Vault. God, Peter, how could you be so stupid? So disrespectful? So irresponsible. And you had the audacity to bring your friend, Ned, into it? How stupid are you, honestly. And to top it all off, Ned didn’t want to hack the suit. He didn’t want anything to do with it and yet here we are, two notifications from your suit interrupting dinner.
“That is a multi-million dollar suit and you’re taking it apart like it’s a toy. Maybe it was a mistake to let you keep the suit. There was absolutely no need to take it with you to Washington and you know that. Trying to make sure May didn’t find it, my ass. Now, you’re ignoring me, with a highly advanced, highly equipped piece of Stark tech, doing God knows what with it. Why did you need to do it, Peter? Why? What are you trying to prove?
“I swear to God, the moment you are home with Aunt May, I am going over there and I’m taking that damn suit back. I guess you weren’t ready for that kind of power. I’m serious, Parker. Did you even think about the consequences of what tampering with that suit could mean? What if what you were doing had damaged the suit? How were you going to explain that to me and my dad?
“There’s no way to explain how the tracker had been removed and the Training Wheels protocol was disabled. Those things have to be physically altered. I made it that way on purpose, that way someone had to do something about it. You had to earn the freedom and liberties that that suit has to offer. But you went ahead and took it into your own hands and toyed with the suit.” You had to pause to take a deep breath. You had been talking so much and so fast that your mouth had gone dry.
“Look, I’m pissed. Tony is going to be even more pissed when he finds out. And I’m not keeping this from him. I hope you didn’t expect me to. You really disappointed me this weekend, Peter Parker. I seriously cannot believe you’d be so stupid.” You spoke slower. “Call me once you’re back. We need to talk.”
