Post Hawkeye (Deaf Female Reader X Kate Bishop)
Summary: Your cute new friend Kate learns ASL for you.
Word Count: 4.4K
Content None I think... just cuteness.
Tumblr media
Two weeks ago, Kate Bishop saw you across the library.
She had just finished classes and was rushing to pick up a book she needed for an essay she HAD NOT started when she saw you.
She hadn't seen you around before, and Kate was instantly mesmerized by how your cute face scrunched as you kept your head low to read. Kate couldn't take her eyes away, and she got to see your smile when you enjoyed a particular moment of your book.
Kate loved seeing your smile and how your eyes lit up.
Kate looked at her phone and truly needed to find the book and leave now or never. But on that day, Kate Bishop was feeling bold. Blame on the need for a certain thrill since Clint took her off Hawkeye duties to focus on school, but Kate started walking towards you.
You, however, never saw or heard her coming. Not when she tripped over her own feet. And not even when she stumbled sitting down next to you.
You had no idea Kate Bishop existed.
Maybe you would have if you had your aids in, but they made you feel embarrassed and inadequate, something you've struggled with for years. Something a certain someone would help you with in time. But, for now, you choose to go without them 99% of the time.
So when Kate started with a simple greeting, that turned into an overcomplicated rambling where she gave you numerous unwanted compliments.
You didn't hear it.
In fact, you didn't even look over to the now slummed-over pretty girl with the blue-grey eyes until she slammed her head on the table in defeat.
The vibrations of the repeated knock of the head against wood alerting you.
You put a bookmark in your book before closing it to look around, hoping maybe someone lost their friend because you had no idea why she was sitting at your table.
But at last, no one had lost the captain of the archery team. So you waited for her to look up, hoping to get an answer, and when she did, you're lucky your mouth didn't drop open.
She was gorgeous. Stunning actually. You had no idea why she was sitting here, but now you didn't want her to leave. You were about to lift your hand when you saw her eyes open in shock before her pink lips started speaking a hundred miles per minute.
Too fast for you to keep up.
You tried to get her to stop, but before you knew it, the last thing you saw was her black ponytail bouncing away.
You didn't know what to make of the last two minutes, but there wasn't much you could do. So, with a frown and shrug of the shoulder, you returned to your book. Wishing you got a chance to say anything.
Exiting the library, Kate Bishop was red in the face. You had just sat there ignoring her as she tripped over all of her words and called you beautiful and babe within two sentences. She didn't know what was wrong with her. She wanted to stab herself with an arrow. Badly!
Kate shook her head because that wasn't even the worst part.
The worst part was when you finally looked at her. You acknowledged her. Kate was already embarrassed enough. So she apologized and claimed that she would never bother you again.
But yet here she was two weeks later. Spotting you from across the library just like before.
"Go!" Kate felt a nudge on her arm from her friend Laura Kinney—a fast friend of Kate after transferring from Canada a year prior.
Kate looked back at her friend. "Stop that! I'm not going." Laura rolled eyes. "You talked about this one chick not stop-"
"No! I talked about how I embarrassed myself once! You're the one who keeps bringing it up!"
Laura shook her head and nudged her friend again. "Go! She's cute, and if you don't go, I will." Kate turned her head to her friend, surprised, but saw that maybe her friend wasn't kidding. "Ugh." Kate turned back to look at you. "Fine! Okay! I'll try again!"
"Good luck!" Laura called out, knowing Kate would need it. Kate sent a thumbs up and did her best to calm her nerves. "Just apologize and don't ramble," Kate whispered to herself as she reached your table.
However, before Kate could do anything, you closed your book and turned away from Kate to put it in your bag—the action meant nothing to you. But to Kate, it would appear you didn't want anything to do with her.
That thought was further cemented when you got up without looking at her and started walking away.
Without realizing it, Kate began to walk after you.
Her walk turned into a quick jog when her brain finally caught up to what was happening. She was right behind you when she said: "Excuse me! Hi!"
Yet you kept walking.
Okay, the library is busy, and maybe Kate could've spoken up a bit louder, so she tried again, HOPING that you weren't actively trying to get away from her.
"Hi! Sorry to bother you, but I..." She trailed off when you kept moving forward, keeping your head staring straight ahead at the library's exit doors. Kate was growing embarrassed and did the one thing she could think of.
She ran ahead and turned around, stopping you in your tracks.
"Hi!" Kate breathed out with a wave, coming face to face with you for the first time. You looked up from her lips, surprised at who was standing in front of you.
It was her!
Hi. You waved back with a questioning look to Kate's beautiful eyes before looking down to her lips—something Kate noticed.
"Sorry to bother you, but I don't know if you remember me but..." That was all you caught reading her lips before Kate started speaking quicker and quicker than you could process.
In your defense, even Clint Barton, an Avenger, said Kate had more speed talking than Captain America did running.
You held your hand up, shutting Kate up. She looked at you with curious eyes and waited to hear your voice, but instead, you started signing.
I do remember you.
Kate immediately felt embarrassed. She knew very little to almost nothing of what you were saying.
She promised Clint she would start learning when he began teaching, but for someone who helped save the world, he could still be stubborn. But now The Archer regretted not learning ASL.
Kate awkwardly smiled, making you smile back, in turn, causing Kate's face to flush red. You caught it. While looking at one another, you both thought the other person was beyond cute.
"I'm sorry," Kate spoke slower than she usually would. You tilted your head as she continued. "I don't know ASL."
You made a flat smile and nodded. Most people didn't. So it wasn't surprising that the first new cute girl to talk to you in some time didn't know it either. It just meant it would be harder to forget her when she inevitably didn't want to make the effort.
But you had never met Kate Bishop till before this moment. You didn't know that she was just as stubborn as her mentor but a thousand times more annoying when she needed to be. She wasn't going to give up.
She was going to learn for you.
She was going to speak to you.
Kate watched you nod and go to walk away, but she stepped in front of you again. "Wait!" She held her hands up and quickly pulled out her phone, handing it to you. You took it as it sat on the New Contact screen and looked up with furrowed brows. "Please?" Kate asked, making you nod and blush.
Kate watched your fingers fly over the keyboard before you handed it back. You watched Kate smile and try not to laugh at your contact name: Y/N 👂❌
You bite back your own laughter. Having been used to not everyone being comfortable with something you lost at a young age.
Kate looked up to see your smile and finally broke laughing. Her pearly whites were on display until she closed her mouth and started typing in her phone.
A few seconds later, yours buzzed in your pocket. Pulling it out, you looked up and smiled. The text read: "Hi Y/N. I'm Kate Bishop 🏹!" You nodded and made that her contact name.
"So Kate Bishop... what can I do you for?"
You typed and immediately regretted sending because you sounded like someone who was a boring attorney. But Kate found it kind of charming.
You looked down from her as the three dots popped up and down, but nothing happened. You looked back up at Kate, who was nervously biting her lip.
"You ok?" You typed to Kate, who stopped biting her lip, avoided your eye contact, and replied: "Yes. Sorry!" But Kate wanted to say more. She wanted to say: "I was going to ask for your number earlier, but we kinda blew through that quicker than I imagined. So now I don't know what to do?! Do I ask you out now? Is that allowed? Would you say yes?! You don't even know me!?"
But Kate didn't say that. Instead, she wrote: "I tried talking to you a couple of weeks ago because you seemed like a really cool person. Which you are! Ugh sorry. This is so embarrassing as I type this, but I wanted to know if you wanted to be friends? 😅"
Kate added the emoji, hoping to relieve any awkwardness. And it did. But Kate asking you to be friends wasn't where you thought this was going.
Truth be told, it wasn't.
But Katherine Elizabeth "Kate" Bishop wasn't going to ask you out over text. She was going to ask you face-to-face, and she didn't want you to read her lips to make it happen.
Yet you didn't know that. All you knew was that a cute, friendly girl was choosing to seek you out and wanted to get to know you. So you smiled and nodded to Kate, whose eyes lit up. "Great!" She audibly yelled, earning a fury of looks from people around.
But a smile from you.
"Sorry." You read Kates lips as she looked around at people shaking their heads and looking away.
Kate looked down at her buzzing phone to see a message from you. "Maybe we should leave the library. Are you busy rn?" Kate froze as she looked at the words on her screen. She was supposed to be courting you. Asking you out in time. Were you flirting? No. This is just what friends do. Hang out! The two of you were now friends! Right?
Kate's turmoil-struck brain could only process so much so fast before she decided to actually look at the time and realize, yes, she was supposed to be somewhere right now. Kate sent you a frown. "I actually should be on my way to archery practice."
That made a lightbulb go off above you. That's why she wanted her name like that in your phone. You thought Kate was being cute and was saying she was Cupid or was sent by Cupid or something. However, her being on the archery team made a lot more sense. You felt silly for thinking it was the former. But you pressed on.
"I have a free period right now. Can I come?"
Kate looked up from her phone and nodded with glee. "I'd love that!" Kate yelled once again, earning glares from everyone else in the room, but the two of you paid them no mind as Kate started leading the way.
On the walk, Kate and you enjoyed one another's company while also learning about the other one. It was new and slightly awkward but adorable to any outsider looking in. Like when you asked Kate if she took up archery because of the Hunger Games, she laughed and said no. She did it because she was saved by Hawkeye during the Battle of New York.
The very same battle you lost your hearing.
But Kate didn't know. She would in time.
Not right now.
The conversation about Hawkeye led to the two of you talking about your favorite Avengers. Kate's being obvious, and yours surprising her.
You said Natasha Romanoff—the Black Widow.
When asked why, you just sadly shrugged before replying through text: "The Avengers were all great. Most of them were role models. But none of them looked as good as she did in her uniform." You laughed to hide the tears in your eyes.
But Kate saw, leading you to type: "Plus, I bet she gave the best hugs." Kate smiled at that and could agree. Her and Wanda Maximoff probably gave the best hugs.
Where was Wanda, by the way??
Kate's phone buzzed, bringing her back. "Sorry... I could give actual reasons, but I don't want to cry right now." You smiled and swallowed the lump in your throat when Kate looked over at you.
Because Kate could relate, she had only gotten to hear Clint share less than a handful of stories about The Black Widow, and each time, they ended with the man in tears.
"I have a friend who's the same. It's okay." Kate sent back to you, making you feel better before you asked her if she had read Scott Lang's book, to which she said not yet.
Meanwhile, it was in your backpack.
Three weeks from now, she would borrow it and read the chapter dedicated to Natasha and cry.
As you and Kate walked up to the field holding practice, you had Kate lead you to a spot where you could safely watch from. Unbeknownst to you, the other girls around you were friends or girlfriends of the ladies on the team. So when people saw you walk up with THE Katherine Bishop, everyone started talking in hushed whispers.
But not that you knew.
However, you couldn't lie. Watching Kate's arms and fingers hold and mess around with something that's basically string and wood never looked so hot. On top of that, the shy, awkward, almost annoyingly cute girl you had become quick friends with didn't exist anymore. When the arrow flew from her fingers, she was confident, cocky, and dominant.
Also, she was easily the best of the team. Hot.
The warmth rising in you hit a tipping point when she pointed at you and then to the bullseye on the target before mouthing, "watch this." You expected Kate to turn and look to where she was shooting, but she didn't. She looked straight at you and let the arrow go. Your eyes went from Kate to the target.
Bullseye.
The girls around you erupted into a mixture of cheers, shock, and jealousy. They all turned to you, confusing you before you saw a couple of them smile and point back to Kate as if they were praising the two of you.
You're fairly certain you saw the word "girlfriend" being thrown around, but you just shook your head and waited for Kate to come to your rescue.
_
Over the next couple of months, as the season of spring was winding down to make way for the heat of summer, you and Kate had only grown closer. Your friendship had turned the two of you into being the best of friends.
Often being mistaken for girlfriends.
A mistake that always left you and Kate blushing but never saying how awful it would be if that was the case.
It was like there was a silent understanding. Kate knew what she was waiting for, and you were too nice and kind to even think about jeopardizing what you two had.
It was expected that if one of you was around, the other one had to be within ten feet. And this was true—most times. But there had been times in the past where if you woke up in the middle of the night after passing out while reading, you'd discover Kate gone. Her bag and clothes would still be there, but she was just gone. Well, herself and... her archery equipment.
That part confused you.
You wanted to bring it up to her. Because for one reason, whatever she was doing was making her exhausted. You could see it on her face better than anyone. She was tired mentally and physically. You didn't like seeing her like that.
The other reason is that it hurt you to see someone you cared about lying to you. You hated it and didn't want to hate the girl who started holding your hand on your walks across campus. The one who never missed a bullseye for you. The same girl who decided to read The Hunger Games instead of just watching the movies for you.
So when you couldn't bear yourself to bring it up to her, you decided to wait up and catch her.
Kate had no idea you had started to catch onto her. But it's not like Kate enjoyed sneaking around. Well, she did, but that was when she was chasing bad guys and doing some recon. But she hated it when it came to you. Sneaking around behind your back felt wrong, no matter the cause.
So, as Kate quietly picked up her bow and quiver, she looked over at your sleeping form and made a motion with her hands.
You didn't see it as you faked sleeping. But if you did, you would've understood why Kate was being sneaky.
Kate turned away from you and took a few steps towards her window. Kate opened it and reached back behind her when suddenly you flicked on the light in the bedroom of her dorm as she looked ready to jump out of her window. A labeled arrow prepared to fire.
Kate slowly lowered the bow and turned her head to you. You stood wearing her high school archery t-shirt and a pair of black shorts.
Kate couldn't help but smile. She loved seeing you in her clothes.
And you loved seeing her in yours, but right now, that was the last thing on your mind as Kate sheepishly said: "It's not what it looks like."
You threw your arms up at that and ran up to her, smacking your head as if to say, "what the hell are you doing?"
Kate sighed and knew that now was the time to say one thing or the other. Or maybe both?? Kate weighed her options before gently placing her bow on the bed you two had come to share. As friends of course.
You watched Kate let go of the bow before her hands found their way to yours. Taking them from your hips.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner." She started as you watched her pink lips speak. Tilting your head at the words she spilled before she softly let go of your hands to unzip her purple hoodie.
You gasped and covered your mouth when you saw what she was hiding. You looked from her guilty eyes back to her purple suit. Kate watched you step forward and raise a hand to her hip. The touch making her stomach flip while two of your fingers danced along the edge before gliding up the lining of the suit before they floated away.
Kate missing your contact already.
You couldn't believe what you were seeing. But yet, it made sense.
You'd been to enough practices to know the only match for Kate with a bow and arrow would be an Avenger. You looked to Kate's downward face and put your finger on the underside of her chin. Lifting it up. Her eyes meeting yours. You weren't mad. Well, you were, but if anything, now you were just shocked.
Are you Hawkeye? You signed without realizing it.
Yes. Kate signed ba— KATE SIGNED!
You took a step back in awe. Did that happen? You swallowed and stared at the girl, holding back a smile dressed in a purple superhero suit. Slowly, you raised your hands and, with a deep breath, signed: You can understand me?
Yes.Kate signed the exact same way as before, surprising you once again.
She was communicating with you in ASL. Your best friend- someone you cared for- No someone who you loved was signing!
Tears were threatening to spill as you ran into Kate and wrapped your arms around her. Your head burying its way into her neck. Kate wrapping her arms around you, holding you tight.
As Kate held you, she heard your sniffles and felt a few tears spill from your eyes. Kate bit her lip to keep her eyes from spilling.
It was then she decided she would keep the night of surprises going. So, after some time, she patted her hand against your back and removed her hold from you as you moved back to look at her. Your eyes were a little red, but Kate could see what was holding in them.
Kate smiled and started moving her hands. Since I met you, I've been learning ASL.
Your mouth dropped. With who? You could've asked me!?
You would've loved to teach Kate. But it had to be done this way.
Kate didn't answer you. Instead, she pulled out her phone and went to a secret photo album you had never seen before. Inside were pictures of her with Lucky, a family, some friends, and lastly... Clint Barton.
You looked up from the phone to Kate and back to the phone—Full-on, yanking it from her hands. You zoomed in on his face and then Kates before sliding through other pictures of the two of them together. A lot of them were unflattering pics of the grown man while Kate smiled brightly. But then there were some where Clint smiled and posed ridiculously for his mentee. You laughed and smiled at each one, including the ones of his family surrounding Kate.
You swiped once more, and a video automatically started to play. You felt the vibrations in your hand but couldn't make anything out. However, Kate knew exactly what was happening in the video.
It was Kate's first ASL lesson months prior. But that didn't start till ten minutes in. Instead, what was playing right now to the room was Kate in the video going on and on about this new friend of hers named Y/N. Kate mentions that you are the reason that she wants to learn sign language.
Slightly and purposely offending Clint.
"Okay, so let's say I manage to teach you, and you manage to learn, then what?"
Clint asks in the video.
"Then I ask her out."
Kate replies.
You looked up from the video to Kate. Asking why she is blushing, Kate takes a step closer to you and asks for her cell phone back. You place it in her hand. She hits the button on the side before putting it in her pocket.
I learned for you.
You watch Kate sign and mouth simultaneously, the feeling of wanting to cry from pure happiness returning. Why? You asked Kate as you smiled.
Kate lifts her hands and stops. She starts to sign but stops again.
The Archer breathes in and out.
Because ever since I met you, I've wanted to do one thing. Kate waits for you to nod back to her. I- Y/N... Y/N, do you want to go out?
She signs with a nervous smile.
Together? Sometime, like on a date. A real date! One where we dress up and go out on the town, not just eat junk in my-
You surprised Kate by jumping into her arms. Cutting off her ramblings in ASL. Kate barely had time to register to catch you before she felt just how soft your lips were.
Kate closed her eyes and melted into you. She marveled at the feeling of your smile as the kiss deepened. You pushed further into her and felt butterflies flutter inside of you at what you've wanted for so long.
Kate felt the same and would vow to always hold you closer than anyone ever could as she pulled you into her. Taking you all in.
Eventually, air had to return into your lungs.
You blushed harder when you and Kate separated. The heavy breathing between the two of you being the only noise in the room.
Yes, you signed when Kate placed you onto your feet. "You want to go out? With me?" Kate said, knowing you were watching her lips. But maybe she was wrong when she saw you shake your head no.
You moved back a bit as Kate kept her arms around your body.
I want to be your girlfriend.
Kate looked at you, making sure she saw that right. "Girlfriend?!" She asked with a glint of hope. You smiled and brought your lips to hers as you nodded before moving your hands down to hers. Taking them off your body and placing them in yours as you moved them.
You kissed Kate again as she traced her fingers over your left hand, discovering the pinky and index finger were raised. She moved from your index finger down to your extended thumb.
She pulled back and looked at your hand watching it move towards her.
Kate brought her hands up to your face and quickly kissed your lips before she moved onto your cheeks and nose, forcing a giggle out of you.
When she let go of your head, she looked into your eyes and said with an unmistakable smile: "I love you too. I love you so much!"
Kate wrapped you into her arms and held you close before she could feel you patting her back.
When she let go, you smiled and asked: So girlfriends?
Kate nodded.Girlfriends.
A million more questions ran through you as you stood in Kate's arms. But before you could stop yourself, you started with: Oh, and Kate... You laughed and signed to her before continuing. Since I'm dating Hawkeye, do I get a cool name?
Kate laughed back and raised an eyebrow. "Sure! What would you want to be called?"
You tucked your bottom lip into your mouth as you thought. An action making Kate pull your lip out of your mouth with her thumb before bringing it to her lips, almost frying your brain to the point that you nearly didn't say your answer. Bullseye.
"Why is that?"
You shrugged but hid behind an innocent smile. Your eyes briefly darting to Kate's closet before looking back to Kate.
Because I want to be the only thing you can stick your arrow in.

Giggles and Kate's hilarious jokes echoed in the room, and also some kisses here and there. Your girlfriend´s hair was tied in her typical ponytail, that you love so much, her front strands perfectly shaping her face. You lay gently on top of her, your bodies fit perfectly together like two pieces of a puzzle and your fingers are exploring Kate's upper body and also her so surreal beautiful face. Her ocean blue eyes locking with yours. Every evening has been like this since you've lived together and it is every time the best part of the whole day. The atmosphere was calm, you could feel peace and the love between Kate and you. Both of you taking the time to realise how lucky the two of you are, being in such a delightful and pleasant relationship.
When Kate discovered you staring at her kissable lips, she began to smirk, and her hands, which were resting comfortably on your back, moved to your hair and pulled your head a little closer to her. So close that you could feel her breath on your lips. As your lips finally collapsed together, you could feel her heartbeat, it had sped up a bit, which made you giggle into the soft kiss. She slowly moved away and broke the kiss. "Why are you laughing?" She whispered with a confused gaze on her face, that kind of made her even look more cute, according to your taste. "Do I make you nervous my love?" You asked with a bright smile on your face, which got even brighter, when you saw the blush creeping up Kate´s cheeks. As she realised that you noticed the pink color, she hid her face into your pillow and started smiling broadly.
-"I guess that´s a yes then."
"Shut uuuup."
The moment you started chuckling, you felt warm hands wandering under your hoodie that started tickling you before you knew it. You burst out laughing and your body collapsed on top of Kate´s. You placed your head into your girlfriend´s shoulder and continued laughing until your shirt lifted up a bit. However, Kate didn't notice this and turned the both of you, so that you were now lying on the bed and she was on top of you. You had your eyes closed, so you didn't notice Kate admiring your abs. Her curious hands pulling your hoodie even further up until it was over your head and finally on the floor.
Your eyes were still closed, you relaxed every muscle in your body and just focused on the kisses that your Kate was placing now on your neck. You could feel her breath against your skin, which was calming you even more. The moment you finally opened your eyes, you placed your right hand on Kate's neck and moved her face back towards yours. You looked at every detail of Katie's face until she interrupted you with again her lips on yours.
It was a long kiss, so long that you had enough time to play with the end of Kate's shirt. You were about to pull the fabric over her head until Kate suddenly took your hand in hers and pulled it away from her body. You stopped kissing her and looked intensely at her face, but you didn´t see any signs in her features.
"What´s wrong, Katie?"
She avoided your gaze and mumbled a small "nothing".
Clearly not believing her, you furrowed your eyebrows and put your finger under her chin, so she has to look at you.
"Talk to me."
You put your hand back on Kate's neck and played with her baby hair as you waited for her to answer, she gently placed her head on your chest and started talking.
"I´m sorry my love, I just-, I just don´t want you to see my scars."
In that moment you couldn´t hold back your smile and softly turned yourself around, so Kate is one more time beneath you. Gently you started kissing every part of her face.
"But I want to see your scars."
Your hands wandered once again under Katie´s shirt and you began to pull it up, though you looked into Kate´s eyes as if to ask her, if it´s okay. She understood your silent question and nodded. A moment later her shirt gave your hoodie company on the ground. You started to kiss each collarbone, where you already could feel the first scar beneath your lips.
"Where did you get this scar from?" You asked while continue kissing your girlfriend´s body.
"A guy cut me with his knife."
"Interesting, and this one?"
"Okay, could you stop asking questions?"
You chuckled at Kate´s behavior and felt how lost her hands were in your hair, leaving it a complete mess as you were still kissing every part of her upper body.
"No, but seriously, where did you get this from?"
"I burned myself while cooking your favorite dish."
You burst out laughing, which made Kate giggle too.
After you both calmed down a little, you continued kissing her, you now kissed her palms and each delicate finger that were lost in your hair just seconds ago. You found her stomach and kissed it from each scar to the next. You loved Katie´s scars, they were unique and every single one of them has their own story, if it´s a hilarious or a fascinating one, you thought they looked pretty, especially when they´re from your loving girlfriend and you could kiss them, or even admire them.
Your hands met Kate´s waist and the final piece of clothing on her figure. You began to pull it off and the pile of clothes on the floor got bigger. She let out a sigh of pleasure as your lips returned to her soft skin, her noises being music to your ears. She kept her hands buried in your hair and you began to touch places no one ever touched her before.
When you stopped your movements, Kate held her hands on your back and pulled you into her body as much as she could, but you both still didn´t feel close enough.
You collapsed again on top of the person who stole your heart and placed your head on her chest, so you could hear her heartbeat. Her hands were gently scratching your back and you could again feel the peace in the atmosphere. There is nothing you love more than this girl, especially when she has scars all over her body.
"You know that scar on your thigh? It kinda looks like a flower."

Do you have a headcanon on how bishova realising they have feelings for the other?
So this escalated fast
Yelena realises it first, because Red Room attraction training, and Kate Bishop is breathtaking, but denies herself anything to do with it, because how could she be so careless to form an attachment to someone? She had gone this long alone, there was no reason to fall for the trap of romance.
Besides, Kate had so much more experience, she's sure of it (and she doesn't want to admit that the idea of embarrassing herself is intimidating)
Kate on the other hand finds Yelena hot immediately but doesn't think there's a snowballs chance in hell that she'll feel the same (because she'sYelena Belova) so keeps it to herself, doing her best not to get excited when she texts at random times, invites herself over, sends postcards from whatever country she is in at any given moment, calls her "Kate Bishop" which yeah, okay it's her name but it is different when Yelena says it. Like there's more there, lingering in the glances when she thinks Kate isn't looking and the touches when Yelena initiates contact
There's no hope and she has to accept that even if it sucks
But then Yelena comes back home one day (she is unsure when she has started calling Kate Bishop's apartment home) and the woman isn't there. So she reacts totally normal and looks for her, finding her in a bar, being flirted with, and hearing her laughter because of someone else makes her feel sick and FINALLY tips the scales. She admits it at Natasha's grave that the risk of making a fool of herself is worth it if there's a chance of being with a person who has (somehow) become the safest place in the world to her.
Kate has no idea how she managed to convince Yelena she is worth her time, and Yelena makes sure Kate realises her own worth every day
(Yelena is also totally inexperienced with romance and 'stuff' because Red Room, so she makes mistakes, fumbles a lot, but Kate is patient as hell with this (with her (because she's Yelena ((and Kate would punch the sun for her)))
And then Natasha magically returns because this is my soap box and I chose the delusions

Clint: God help the person who ends up dating Kate.
Yelena: I'm dating Kate.
(now watching Kate pull something from her utility belt and toss it in the air)
(colorful confetti rains down on her opponents causing them to stop in confusion)
Clint: My condolences.

Rules
(oneshot takes place between chapters 6 and 7 in Malen'kiy Yastreb)
A few days after Kate moved in, Natasha began to notice somethings that were different in the way that Kate acted.
It was no secret that the teen was very respectful and well behaved. She was possibly the most polite teenager Natasha has ever met.
But it was almost to a fault.
There were a lot of things Kate would hesitate to do or remember to ask express permission for before she even thought about doing them. Things that, at least in Natasha's mind, didn't need such permission.
For example, Kate would always ask if she could take a shower or before using literally anything in the apartment.
And there were some other things that were lacking in her day to day life.
After her visit with Dr. Cho, Natasha wasn't shocked to find out that Kate was slightly malnourished and was underweight. The teen seemed to always feel guilty when asking for food outside of meal times, or had forgotten to eat meals entirely.
And don't even get Natasha started on the young archer's sleep schedule. It is a wonder that the kid is able to function at all.
Natasha was at a loss on how to help the poor kid.
No one should be living like this, let alone a young teen.
So, Natasha calls Laura for ideas. While talking, Laura brings up something that her and Clint used for Natasha when she was staying with them right after she defected from the Red Room and was still adjusting to regular life.
A rule list.
It wasn't your traditional rule list. It was more of a guideline of things that were okay to do, or things that were needed to do everyday to keep healthy.
It would be perfect for Kate.
Natasha thanks Laura, and heads to go to talk to Kate.
She walks into the living room, finding Kate on the couch petting a snuggly Lucky.
"Hey malen'kiy yastreb!"
"Hi Tasha!"
"I had an idea," Natasha starts right off the bat, knowing if she didn't Kate might get even more nervous, "I have noticed some things since you have moved in with me."
She watches Kate tense slightly.
"Its nothing bad," Natasha reassures, "I have just noticed that you have been, for a lack of a better term, overlooking some things in your day-to-day life. And hey, everyone does it."
"I'm sorry," Kate looks down at her hands.
"There is no need to apologize; it's okay dorogoy," Natasha gently lifts Kate's chin with one of her hands, "It is one of the things I struggled with when adjusting to living with Clint and Laura a while ago, too."
"Really?"
"Mhm," Natasha hums, "And Laura had a great idea to make a list of 'rules'. They aren't really 'rules' in the traditional sense, but they were things that really helped me. And I think it will really help you too."
Kate smiles softly at Natasha's thoughtfulness.
"What do you think, malen'kiy yastreb?" Natasha asks her gently and comforting, "Should we make one for you?"
Kate takes a minute to think before softly agreeing, "Yeah. Okay!"
Natasha pulls Kate into a hug and Kate melts into her embrace. Natasha smiles.
After all is said and done, the rule list is hung on the refrigerator with a magnetic. The list consists of 7 rules:
There is no need to ask when wanting to use the shower, kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, TV, etc. as long as no one else is using them
Swearing IS allowed (AT HOME)
Two full meals need to be eaten a day (unless sick)
All the food/snacks in the kitchen can be used/enjoyed by anyone at anytime
Bedtime is 12:30 at the latest
If leaving the Compound, Natasha must be informed as to where, when, how long, and with who.
Kate is NEVER bothering Natasha and can ask/talk with her whenever she needs/wants
The list evolves throughout the years. Things are added such as Wanda being added into rule number 6 and 7, and a rule stating that Kate must tell either Natasha or Wanda if she is sick or injured is added after Kate's unfortunate bout of the flu. But in times of struggle, the list is always there to help Kate get back on track.

Mini Poser Calls for Backup
Natasha Romanoff x Female Reader
Yelena babysits for you and Nat. When there’s some drama with your oldest child, Yelena calls in backup.
Note: Mini poser is back! With a special guest! I hope y’all enjoy it! Other mini poser fics can be found on my Nat masterlist. Also, this is my 100th Natasha fic! 🥳
Natasha Romanoff Masterlist, Main Masterlist
You and Natasha are enjoying a long overdue date night. Your wife reaches across the table and takes your hand in hers.
“This is nice,” you say.
“It is. But I do have a small confession,” Natasha says. She leans forward and you mirror her in anticipation.
“You miss the kids, don’t you?” You ask her.
“So much, yeah,” she says.
You both share a laugh.
“I miss them too. But they’re good with Yelena, baby.”
“I hope they aren’t giving her any trouble,” Natasha says.
“Oh, I’m sure Belle is attached to her side and begging for mac and cheese. And the older two are probably complaining about mac and cheese,” you predict exactly what your kids are doing.
“You’re probably right,” Nat laughs out.
“Let’s try to enjoy tonight, yeah?”
“Yeah, let’s do it detka.”
Across town, Yelena is on the couch with your kids watching a movie.
“Alright, kiddos. Moms are out having fun, so what shall we do for dinner?” Yelena asks your three children.
“I want mac and cheese,” your youngest daughter says.
“We can’t always have mac and cheese,” Ali, your oldest, says.
“But I want mac and cheese,” Belle pouts. Her eyes begin to tear up, but Yelena steps in just in time. She picks the three year old up and walks towards the kitchen.
“Aw don’t cry, Belle. I’ll make you mac and cheese,” Yelena says. She’s met with a huge smile. “And I’ll order the rest of us pizza. How’s that sound kids that are too cool for mac and cheese?”
“Sounds great, Aunt Yelena,” your son Ivan says.
“Al?” Yelena gets the preteen’s attention. “Is pizza cool with you?”
“Yeah,” Ali mumbles, and then corrects herself when she realizes it was slightly rude. “Yes, that sounds good.”
“Awesome,” Yelena responds. She goes into the kitchen with Belle still on her hip.
After the pizza is delivered and the mac and cheese is ready, the four of them settle around the kitchen table.
“So, how is school going?” Yelena asks the oldest two kids.
“It’s good,” Ivan offers. He’s not a talker and that makes Yelena grin.
“Good is good. What about you Ali?”
“It’s fine,” she says.
“Fine? Fine isn’t so good. Is something-” Yelena begins, but Ali is up out of her seat and in her room before she can even finish the question.
“Do you know what’s going on?” Yelena asks Ivan.
“She’s been like this for weeks. She won’t tell anyone what’s happening.”
After dinner, she knocks on Ali’s door, but gets no more than a yes she’s okay. Yelena feels stumped. She didn’t exactly have a normal childhood, and she worries she can’t help Ali without relating to her.
Yelena decides to call someone who may have a better chance at relating to the young girl. She’s at the front door not even twenty minutes later.
“Hey Kate, thank you for coming,” Yelena says. Kate enters the house.
“You guys are in a crisis. I’m on my way,” Kate says. If Yelena understands the reference, she doesn’t comment on it.
“So you can help?” Yelena asks.
“Yeah, for sure. Where is she?” Kate asks.
“Her room. We really don’t know what we’re dealing with heer. Preteen drama it seems?”
“I can handle that,” Kate says with a smirk. She walks to Ali’s door and knocks on it.
“Hey, it’s Kate. You know the super cool archer friend of your Aunt Yelena? Can you open the door for me, Ali?”
She doesn’t hear a response, but she is met with the young girl opening the door a moment later.
“Aunt Yelena called you?”
“Yep. Is it cool if we chat?”
“I guess so,” Ali replies. Secretly, she’s kind of excited to be talking to Kate.
“Sweet. We’ll just be a little bit,” Kate tells Yelena as she shuts the door behind her.
About 30 minutes later, the girls emerge from the room and Ali has a smile on her face.
“How did you do that?” Yelena asks Kate as she pulls her into the kitchen.
“Magic,” Kate wittily says. Yelena sighs. “Nah, but really I just talked to her. I think it helped that I wasn’t her mom or aunt or anything. More of as a friend.”
"Thank you, truly,” Yelena says and she means it.
“Anytime,” Kate says. “You can repay me in some ice cream?”
“Ha, let’s see what Nat and y/n have in that department,” Yelena says.
Yelena makes bowls of ice cream for everyone and Kate socializes with the kids. They sit on the couch and Kate offers to take a photo of everyone to send to you and Nat.
You’re getting into Nat’s car when your phone dings.
“Oh my god, look at this,” you show the picture Natasha who left her phone at home.
“Is she? Is Belle really putting her hand on her forehead in an L shape?” Natasha asks.
“She totally is.”
“I love her,” Natasha replies. “But how did she learn that?”
“My bet is Kate Bishop,” you say.
“Or Yelena,” Natasha says.
“They probably tag teamed it,” you joke.
Natasha puts the car in drive and you head back home to your family. You can’t wait to see them again.

This Is Me Trying - Two - (A Y/N Parker Spider-Woman X Kate Bishop Story)
Tumblr media
masterlist
Summary: The Hawkeyes and you seem to be on the same track...
Word Count: 3.5K
Content: College stress, Flirty Kate Bishop, Clint being a dad
Tumblr media
"Kate Bishop! Your crush! Asked you that!? No way!" Ned, of course, couldn't believe it. But this was the same man who didn't realize he was going out with Betty Brant for two weeks
"What did you say after she asked?" MJ questioned when she looked up from behind her laptop on the couch.
"I said, "yeah!" and "that's awesome." Was that good?"
MJ shook her head. "Truly a wordsmith." Sarcastic as ever. MJ went back to her screen to basically ignore you and Ned.
"Well, anyways, congrats," Ned said, getting up from the dining room table where his and Peter's LEGO Death Star was kept. Why was it in your dorm and not there's you had no idea. But MJ helped from time to time, so you figured it was okay.
Ned and you walked into your room and closed the door.
"You know it's a good thing everyone knows you're gay, or else the amount of time we go to your room alone would be suspicious." You froze and thought about Ned's words. "Yeah, I guess... I wonder what MJ thinks we do?"
"I think Peter said we watch movies that she'd disapprove of."
That made sense. "Hmm, alright." You walked over to your bed and flopped onto it while you waited for Ned to do what he needed to do.
3...2...1. "Okay, got it." He said as your fingers formed into a 0. "Alright, what am I looking at?" Ned had pulled up security footage from a traffic light from three weeks ago.
"Okay, this was when that building on 10th in Hell's Kitchen burned down." Ned played the video, and it showed a group of guys in Tracksuits fleeing from the building as they piled into a black SUV moments prior to the building going up.
"Okay. So the Tracksuits are back.." You thought out loud as Ned moved his cursor to another video.
"This was from last week on 3rd in Harlem." The video played and was almost identical to the third one. Except the SUV and the plates on the car were different.
You stood in thought as the last video started. "This was last night."
You recognized the building immediately as you remember zipping past it last night. Just like the other two videos, it played out the same. When the video stopped, Ned looked at you.
"Okay, so as bad as their fashion choice is, they're not idiots. They have different cars and plates every time. Their faces are covered, and let me guess, if we follow the cars light by light, they end up at a chop shop?"
Ned nodded.
"So... it's gotta be the buildings." Ned tilted his head. "What do you mean? It's not the chop shops?" You shook your head. "Chop shops are easy to bust. It's like they want you to follow them there. The buildings. The ones they burn. That's the real money."
Ned looked from you to the screen.
"So you think these tracksuit guys are burning the buildings for insurance money?" You shook your head and entered your closet to change into your Spidey Suit.
Just because you're gay doesn't mean you want guy your friend Ned to see you.
"No, I think someone is hiring these guys to do it." You huffed as you remembered who had the tracksuit mafia in his pocket last time.
Wilson Fisk. The Kingpin.
He was a roach you could never squash just right.
If he owned the buildings, that means there was a lot more at play.
"Okay." You stepped out of the closet and quickly scarfed down a leftover slice of pizza Ned had. "Do you think you could find out who owns these buildings?" Ned nodded. "It's probably a bunch of shell companies, but I can do my best." You patted him on the shoulder. "Thanks, man." You hurried across your room and grabbed your mask.
"Oh, and when Peter comes over, could you maybe not tell him I went patrolling? Tell him I overheard something on the radio." Ned gave a flat smile.
Lying was not his strong suit.
"If you do, I'll-"
"Hey, Y/N, are you still in there?" You gave a panicked look to Ned before putting on your mask and twhiping away before MJ wildly opened the door.
She looked from the open window to Ned.
"Where's Y/N?"
"Uhhh..." Ned was really bad at lying. "She left..ago- a while ago!" He was in trouble. "Yeah?" MJ crossed her arms and leaned against the doorframe. "How come I didn't see her leave?"
Ned's brain scrambled.
"Blindness?" Ned said, making MJ stand up straighter. "I turn a blind eye to many things, Ned, but this won't be one of them." She uncrossed her arms and stretched her arm out to grab the door handle to the room. "By the way, nice camera footage, totally not suspicious at all." She thinned her eyes and hummed as she closed the door.
After swinging for what felt like a good enough distance away from campus, you stood on the roof of an old pizzeria.
Your phone chimed, and you had a text from Ned. "Did my best. Sorry. 😭😭😭"
You laughed and reassured him that he wouldn't be fired from his guy-in-the-chair duties.
"Keep me posted on the buildings." You sent your final text and put your phone away.
You then stared out into the boro you find yourself in. In the distance, you can see what remains of a shootout you helped rescue people from two months ago. You think about a girl you saved who said she wanted to be like you when she grew up.
Your heart warmed, and you told her to stay in school and that she'd be better than you.
Which was looking more and more accurate by the day as you leaped off the pizzeria, ignoring a text from your brother about the essay you still needed to do.
At the same time, Kate Bishop entered her dorm room, walking past her blonde roommate and fast friend Cassie Lang at her desk before Kate collapsed facedown onto her bed.
"What's wrong?" The slightly shorter of the two, Cassie, turned around and asked. "Tired." Kate's muffled voice spoke.
"How late were you out last night?" Cassie asked as she stood up, approaching her friend's bed. "Past 3," Kate said, making Cassie go wide-eyed. "Kate Bishop! The rule was 2:30 at the latest!"
Kate rolled over and lifted herself up. "I'm sorry." She pouted at her friend, who instantly pulled her into a comforting hug that turned into Kate leaning on Cassie's shoulder. "What else is wrong?" Cassie asked as she saw how exhausted Kate looked.
"Nothing," Kate said, but Cassie wasn't so sure. "Are you doing some overthinking?" Kate froze eventually before nodding. "What about?"
"Clint and the Tracksuits."
Kate spoke freely about her other life to Cassie.
Kate used to tell people openly about how she was working with an Avenger, but after what happened with her mom and Kingpin last year, she toned it down.
Now, the only people who know are Cassie, Pizza Dog, and a rouge assassin for hire. Plus, Clint and his family.
Cassie only found out when she woke up in the middle of the night to see Kate in her Hawkeye outfit on the floor.
Kate tripped, falling through the window, and busted her chin.
Kate wanted to tell more people like you. But as previously mentioned. She liked you and didn't want you to get hurt because of her.
So, she kept her Hawkeye circle small.
However, Kate couldn't get the idea out of her head... what if she told you?
"Kate?" Cassie poked the forehead of her dorm mate. "Where'd you go?" She asked.
Kate sat up and cracked her neck, ignoring the question. Cassie noticed as she raised her eyebrows and returned to her desk. Choosing schoolwork, Chemistry in particular, over prying answers from Kate.
"Do you think I should tell Y/N?" Kate spoke up and waited for Cassie to turn around. But she didn't.
"Cass?" Kate asked as she stepped off her bed and walked next to her friend. "Cass?" She asked again before realizing Cassie had put in her AirPods.
Cassie turned to her left and jumped, startled, before pulling them out. "Oh shit. What's up?!" Kate opened her mouth. "I..- nothing. I just was going to tell you that I.. wanted to.."
She couldn't do it.
"I wanted to invite Y/N to my archery practice!" Kate put on a smile and watched her friend's face light up.
"Oh my God, I love that! Please do it! Ugh, she's so pretty!" Cassie was happy for her friend finally doing something about her crush. "She is," Kate replied with a blush. "Think she'll show?" Kate then asked.
"Why wouldn't she?" Cassie tilted her head, entirely focused on the conversation.
Cassie and you had hung out briefly when your friend group and Kate's got together, but she has never witnessed how your superhero life affects you.
Kate shrugs. "Lately, Y/N has been... flaky isn't the right word.. but not here? I guess? She's always tired too. She bails on plans with her and Peter sometimes."
Cassie raised an eyebrow. "How do you know?"
"I've seen it at the library. Their study block is next to mine." Cassie nodded. "Plus, MJ's told me."
"Michelle Jones?" Cassie questions, making Kate nod. "She's roommates with Y/N, right?" Kate nods again. "Well, what does she think." Kate folds her lips into her mouth and raises her eyebrows.
"She thinks Y/N is The Spider."
Cassie's mouth drops before forming into a smile of laughter. "What?!" Kate nods with her own smile. "It's true. She's convinced."
Cassie laughs, making Kate giggle. "She took pictures of The Spider over a summer once. That doesn't mean she's THE Spider." Kate nodded as her smile naturally faded. "That would be funny," Kate said, making Cassie laugh again.
"Well, good luck with having your crush at practice tomorrow." Kate waved Cassie off as she went to the bathroom to shower and change. "Going out?" Cassie yelled through the closed bathroom door.
"Not till later. Why?" Kate replied as she took her top off. Her eyes finding a yellow bruise on her chest. "Looks like it's gonna snow."
And snow it did.
It started to come down after you stopped an armed robbery. Armed being used lightly as the men committing the crime were carrying toy guns.
Plus, the bank they chose to hit was a block down from a police station.
So, as you swung back up onto a nearby roof, snow hit your mask. You smiled and lifted up the mask to expose your mouth and nose. You inhaled and exhaled, watching your breath hang in the air.
The snow touched your face and melted against your warm pink cheeks.
It was cool and calming.
A few seconds of much-needed peace.
"I love snow." You whispered to yourself as the wind blew, making you shiver, but you remained now sitting on the roof with your smiling face to the darkened sky.
After enough time, you pulled out your phone.
"I should see if anyone needs any help." But before you could check the Friendly Neighborhood Spidey App, you were receiving a call from an unknown number.
"Ew, who calls anyone after 7?"
You weighed the options of answering it due to your fear of talking on the phone, but after three rings, you caved. "Hello?"
"Yes, hello, I'm calling for a Y/N Parker." The male voice on the other end sounded familiar.
"This is she." You said, standing up. "Ah, Y/N! Nice to put a voice to a list of your academic achievements." The male chuckled. "This is Dr. Otto Octavius." You physically stopped pacing and smiled. Holy crap! You were speaking to THE Dr. Octavius!
"Dr. Octavius! Hello! Wow, I can't believe you called. I take it Dr. Connors passed along... well, my life." You sent a small laugh Otto's way. "He did." He replied with a smile. "And I must say he was right; you're a bright student, Y/N."
You made a "yeah!" gesture with your arm.
"But-" Oh no! "I agree with Connors when he says you've been struggling. I can see just by looking at your grades and past reports that you're lazy. Brilliant but lazy."
"I- I'm trying to do better." You paved around the empty rooftop. "I've just had a lot of personal stuff happening lately."
The other side of the line went quiet.
"Parker, intelligence is not a privilege. It's a gift."
You opened your mouth to defend yourself, butDr. Octavius stopped you. Do you think you'll be free after the holidays?" You perked up at that and stood on your tiptoes.
Was he saying what you thought he was saying?
"Uh yes- yes sir! You'll have my undivided attention!"
Dr. Octavius hummed.
"On the second Monday after the new year, I'd like to speak with you face to face. From there, we can see how we'll proceed with one another. That's about a month away, Parker. That should give you time to get your other affairs in order."
You nodded your head. "Yes, sir. Thank you!"
"I'll email you the information and where to meet me two weeks from now. Happy Holidays."
The line went dead, and you cheered. You just got an interview with Dr. Otto Octavius. He called you lazy, but he also said you were brilliant!
You put your phone away and jumped off the roof of the building with an aloud cheer that you were certain people did not appreciate.
Meanwhile, Kate was unlocking the door to her aunt's place to meet up with Clint. What she wasn't expecting was for Clint to be there already.
"Trust me, I don't plan on missing two Christmas' in a row."
Clint was on the phone.
Kate quietly closed the door, dropped her bag, and quiver on the floor.
"Laura..." Clint sounded tired. "With Kingpin back, I'd feel awful if I left and something happened." Kate's lips formed into a flat line. "Yeah, no, she's great. Kicking ass on her own." Clint said and laughed when his wife replied back.
Kate tried to remain quiet, but a floorboard creaking under her left foot gave her away. Lucky's head shot up from Clint's lap, making the archer turn around. "Hey, babes, Hawkeye just arrived, so I gotta go. Yeah. Yeah. I'll be safe. Love you too."
Clint smiled before hanging up. "She says hi." Kate nodded and told Clint to tell Laura hi the next time they spoke.
Kate grabbed a spot on the loveseat next to the couch.
"I didn't hear you come in," Clint spoke up as he put his phone away. "Don't know if that's my old age or..." He tapped his ear. "Maybe I'm just getting better at sneaking around," Kate replied with a smile.
Clint nodded his head with a chuckle. Kate was saving him from embarrassment.
Clint was still struggling with his hearing loss.
"Yeah, well... maybe it's all three," Clint said as he looked away from Kate. His hand still petting the dog.
Something in the room always shifted when talks like these happened. It reminded the two archers that time and missions with one another were limited.
Clint couldn't do this forever.
He didn't want to do this forever. He had a family and a life outside of being Hawkeye.
But damn, if he wasn't going to miss someone, he considers family—an annoying girl who was somehow more skilled than him but clumsy as hell, Kate Bishop.
Clint kicked his tongue and scooted Lucky off his lap before getting up and grabbing a water from the ridge and a laptop from his bag. "While you were at school. I got a friend to do a little research."
Clint returned, sitting at the edge of the couch closest to Kate. He opened the laptop and clicked on a folder of files. Blueprints. Bank records. Phone calls and messages all popped up on the screen.
"A friend?" Kate asked with a knowing smirk.
Clint ignored her as he took a sip of water. Clicking on the map of the city. Certain buildings highlighted in red. Others in grey. "What am I looking at?"
"The red ones are the burned-down buildings." Kate took a look at the map again. "And the grey... Potential targets?" Clint nodded before clicking on another file. It was a picture taken by Clint last night. "This is a zoomed-in photo of the blueprint on the Tracksuits wall."
"Their next target?" Kate asked. "I think so. We find one of the grey buildings that matches this blueprint." He pointed to the screen. "We can stop them."
Stop them, hurt them, make them confess, give us the details and whereabouts of Wilson Fisk.
You know, that kind of stop them.
Kate looked at the screen again. She moved pieces of her hair behind her ears before leaning into the screen. "How do we know they'll target one of the grey ones?"
Clint moved the cursor on the screen and clicked on an open tab. Finical records. "The ones burned down and these ones." The ones highlighted grey. "Are all owned by different shell companies, but when you really start digging deep, you find that they all go to the same place. Red Lion National Bank."
"Kingpin," Kate said.
Clint nodded. "He owns them all."
"So what he uses these buildings as cash houses and then burns them down when they aren't needed?" Clint shrugged. "It's a working theory. I'm sure there's more involved than money." Kate agreed.
"This one looks like the blueprint. But... but so does this one." Kate said as she clicked between two different buildings.
"It's probably built by the same company that's why they're not so different." Clint thought. "We could go stake out one and see how much movement happens."
"Sounds good to me. Doesn't look that far away. I mean it's far but- you get what I mean." She flopped her hand at Clint.
He laughed.
"Alright well, let me go get changed and we'll be off." Clint stood up and clapped his hands. "Oh, I also already fed Lucky and took him out so no need to worry."
Pizza Dog perked his ears up.
"Awww did Uncle Clint already take care of you?" Kate turned on her baby voice as she leaned over to kiss and pet the dog. "You're such a good boy!" Lucky's tail started wagging. Clint playfully rolled his eyes as he walked to the bathroom.
As she waited Kate's mind started to wander.
"Alright, we just about ready?" Clint asked as he zipped up his vest and grabbed his bow. Kate stood up putting her phone into her pocket and nodded. "My stuff's by the door."
"Great." Clint and Kate made their way to the front door to finish gathering what they needed. "Oh, here." Clint tossed Kate a purple beanie.
She smiled and looked at Clint. "Occasion?"
"It's cold and snowing outside. Can't have you getting sick." Kate's heart warmed at that whether it was sarcastic or not. "Thanks. Where'd you get it?" She asked a she released her hair from its ponytail
"Stopped by my place in the city earlier. Found it in the closet."
What Clint failed to tell Kate is that the beanie wasn't store-bought.
It was handmade.
And before you ask. God, no Clint didn't spend hours crocheting a hat together.
Natasha Romanoff did.
"Looks better on you kid." Clint smiled as Kate dawned it with pride. "Hawkeye and Hawkeye. One with a beanie the other with a hearing aid!" Kate posed as if she was shooting an arrow and exaggerated her voice.
"Had to ruin it didn't you?" Clint teased as he opened the door.
"Bye, Lucky!" Clint waved to the dog before entering the hall. "Bye, Pizza Dog! Be good!" Kate flipped all but one light switched off and locked the door.
As the two archers made their trek to the location marked on Clint's phone he spoke up simply because he couldn't help himself.
"So... who were you texting earlier?"
Kate looked to her right confused. However, she knew what Clint was talking about. "Come on. Don't give me that look. I may be deaf at times but I'm never blind." Clint bumped into Kate as they kept waking. "Don't forget I'm also the father of a teenage daughter."
Kate had him there.
"A friend." She said. "Oh, a friend! Are they nice?" Kate nodded. "She's nice." Clint smiled. She. "Does she know about this?" Clint pointed to the arrows on Kate's back.
Kate shook her head. "She knows I do archery but that's it." Clint looked at Kate's side profile. "But you want to tell her?" Kate looked up. "How'd you know?"
Clint exhaled.
"Because Kate you like this friend of yours. You're young. Oh, and you're terrible at keeping secrets."
"Am not."
She was.
In Clint's eyes, it was a miracle the whole world didn't know the real identity of the "new" Hawkeye.
"Regardless, are you going to tell them?"
Kate shrugged. "I don't know."
Clint patted her shoulder. "That's alright." Kate smiled. "I invited her to my archery practice tomorrow and to study afterward. The text was about her coming over."
Clint raised his eyebrows. "Oh well as long as you're safe."
Kate furrowed her eyebrows and tilted her head. But before she could reply her phone buzzed.
It was a text from you.
"Sounds great! 🎯"
You smiled as you hit send.
Your fingers remained tightly gripped around your phone as you twhiped yourself through an alleyway.
You thought about double-texting Kate. Asking her how she was or what she was doing. Or why the sudden invite to her archery practice?
Was it just for fun? The want to hang out with you? Or did Kate truly just want to show off her toned arms and skills with a bow?
Could it be all of the above?
You closed out your messages app before you could accidentally send a double text and focused on your tingling.

When all you wanted was to be wanted.
Wish you could go back and tell yourself what you know now. Back then I swore I was gonna marry her someday, but I realized some bigger dreams of mine. Abigail gave everything she had to a boy who changed his mind, and we both cried.
'Cause when you're fifteen and somebody tells you they love you, you're gonna believe them.

•~~~~~~~~~~~~•~~~~~~~~~~~~•
The summer of 2015, you remember it just as it was, a bittersweet cumulation, where fluffy dreams were crushed by brutal reality. Natasha got accepted to Stanford University, and would be leaving New York—leaving you—come early August.
Instead of letting the pain of the inevitable consume you, you chose instead to just make the time with her memorable.
"Sooo... My mom finally agreed to us having an unsupervised sleepover." You shout to your girlfriend mid cannon ball.
Your contorted figures burst through the chilled water, causing shivers to run across the entirety of your bodies, following along the same path of the bubbles encasing you. You popped out a second after her, and found yourself instantly pinned to the stairs by her body while you gasped for air.
"Seriously?!" She shrieks, with a set of shocked eyes, and a devious smirk underway.
"Yeah, she said something about trusting us completely, and something else about how at least the worst case scenario didn't end with me being pregnant so she could cope if need be."
"So, next weekend then?"
"Yes... Next weekend..." You conclude, with a gentle kiss to her nose and a newfound excitement settling in your heart.
"Race you to the deep end, and if I win, then I get to buy lunch." You challenged, and the redhead scoffs at your offer, before separating from you to grip at the wall.
"Not a chance you'll win..." She lowly chuckles before you both set off.
You did win, however since you won by means of distraction she'd simply disqualified your success, and ordered the both of you a pizza to enjoy by the poolside with your group of friends that had been initially forgotten.
"Detka, are you sure?" Natasha shakily asks, as she stares down at your partially undressed form.
Natasha Romanoff—before you, had been known around the school to get around. Truth be told though, she was simply the product of sexist smear campaigns, started by stupid kids who'd been pissed that they'd never even made it to first base with her. She was far from traditional, but the idea of sleeping with just anyone didn't sit well with her.
For her, it needed to be spent with someone she could trust her heart with, and she'd always known that person would be you. Every thump of her heart intensified whenever you were around, as if it was somehow reliant upon you to beat. The weekend before she was scheduled to leave, her parents had taken off for a much needed getaway before sending her off, and Yelena left for Kate's the moment their car had driven off.
"I've never been more sure of anything in my life Natasha..." You whispered with a cheeky grin, pulling her face to yours by her cheeks, and you both giggled into the kiss as she fell on top of you.
A weekend well spent, full of tenderness, lots of giggling, and most importantly—love.
The weekend blended into a week, since you'd now spent every waking moment together. Melina promised your mom that she'd take good care of you, and so she allowed the occurrence. Currently, Natasha was mindlessly scrolling through Vine's while you were sat on her bedroom floor sketching.
"Detka, whatcha working on?" She mutters, as she drops her phone, while rolling to her side, and propping herself up on her bent elbow
"That's for me to know, and you to find out." You tease, tilting your sketch pad up, while sticking your tongue out at the beauty.
"Not fair..." She grumbled, falling back against her bed in a huff, and in turn ignoring you in a failed attempt to get you to change your mind.
"Such a whiney baby, how will you survive college all the way in California?" You jest, failing to see the way her face drops at the mention, but unfortunately not how your heart breaks at the subtle reminder.
An unsettling silence fills the room as the both of you ponder what's to come within a weeks time, and you refocus your energy into your work.
"Done." You mutter, as you tap your pencil to your lips, and pull your sketchpad to your chest with a goofy smile consuming your face.
You propped yourself up on your knees, shuffling towards the bed before hovering above your lover.
"If you're done pouting, I'll gladly show you." You playfully remark, then place a kiss to her pouting lips, followed by a shriek once she swiftly traps you and your sketchbook against her bed.
"Wasn't pouting..." She grumbles, then quickly straddles your lap to take the book from you.
Her hardened features instantly soften as she runs her eyes across the intricate sketch. Cartoon figures resembling the both of you fill the page, with a multitude of scenes depicted. All from your first date, to your first kiss, with thought bubbles that somehow express your immense feelings in simple phrases. Signed beautifully by yours truly, with a phrase that breaks her heart: Forever Yours, Y/N/N
She moves the sketch out of her eye-line to look down at your nervous face. Delicately, she places the book to the side before falling against you, and burying herself in you.
"Did you like it?" Your nervous voice tickles at her ear, and she places a gentle kiss to your collarbone.
"I-I love it..." She stutters out over her sobs, and you just run your hands through her hair, massaging her scalp, and feeling as she relaxes into you.
"I'm glad, it's yours, I'll get it framed."
Her arms tighten around your waist, and her head burrows further into your neck, as your hands continue their ministrations. The light sound of her sobs were eventually replaced by snores, and your heart simultaneously burst and cracked.
"Please, no matter where we end up, promise you'll come back for me..." You whisper against her temple, before falling asleep yourself.
No matter how much you pleaded with time to be kind, and to just slow down, it wouldn't. The whirlwind that was your greatest love story was nearing a place of divide.
August 5th, 2015–The day you'd lost the love of your life to Sunny California, she drove off to build her future, leaving behind the wreckage that was your heart after you'd officially given her every last piece of you. Most people love Wednesday's since it signifies the nearing end of a work week, but you only view them painfully.
Natasha truly loved you with her whole heart, and you loved her just the same, which was why you never asked her to stay, because deep down you knew she would've if you had. All she'd ever wanted was for the words to leave your mouth, for you to give her a reason to stay, but they never did. She drove off across state lines, very much aware that her heart would be left behind in New York, right in the palm of your hands.
That same night you fell asleep at her house, in her now empty room, with her smell that still lingered. Her family truly loved you, so they didn't even think to ask you to leave. Before passing out though, a crying Wanda had crawled into the bed next to you.
"He's not worth it darling... He lacked the necessary vi—perspective to see what was in front of him."
"Y/N/N..." She groaned.
"He's—potentially—graduating college in 2019 because he just doesn't have that 2020 .."
"You're the worst..."
"Okay, I'll stop... I'm sorry darling, but truly you dodged a bullet, nobody wants a dad named Vision. Especially not one that is a pretentious twat. It's going to be okay, I promise. Because I got you Wands, until the end of time. So, let's just get some sleep..."
Vision had promised her he'd love her forever, you had even started to believe him, but he decided that the 'bangable college girls' were more alluring than his girlfriend who'd still be in high school for another two years. The supposed transformation you'd witnessed was all just an elaborate ruse, and you were so grateful Wanda had never given herself to him in the same way you did with Natasha. You don't regret a single part of your relationship with Natasha, the only resentment you held was for the fateful end.
"I got you too dorogoy..." She sleepily mumbles, and you smile as you feel her shuffle even closer, and in the moment you know that no matter what, you'd have Wanda, and that would always be enough.

—————————————————————
And when you're fifteen, don't forget to look before you fall.
I've found time can heal most anything, and you just might find who you're supposed to be, I didn't know who I was supposed to be at fifteen.
—————————————————————
"Y/N, are you almost ready to go? Piet's literally pacing the living room and it's honestly making me sick." Wanda shouts up to you from your living room, and you just continue to glare at your reflection.
It's been five years since you'd seen most of these people, so you're not entirely sure why you're so nervous or why you're so hard pressed on impressing them. No matter how much you partake in self loathing, deep down you really are proud of yourself.
You've made a name for yourself, and are successful enough to live lavishly, but you remain humble in your two bedroom home. You spend your free time walking your elderly neighbors dogs for them, to which they reward you with enriching conversations and bowls of lukewarm porridge. Mr. Mittens—asshole that he is, is truly the light of your life. He's a great help when it comes to keeping the kittens you foster in line, and you treat him well with gourmet cans of various fish.
Losing Monica—your wife, had been rather difficult. It wasn't because the marriage was working, no, it was because she'd been one of your best friends first, and then she betrayed you in the worst way by cheating with your assistant. Humiliating you in front of your employees, and ripping the last bit of trust you had in love away from you. Being single for the last two years had given you time to find yourself though, and you became comfortable with being alone.
"Wands, I don't think I'm gonna make it." You shout back, groaning as soon as you heard the hurried footsteps ascending your staircase.
"Don't be stupid!" She exasperatedly states as she throws your bedroom doors open, and flops back onto your bed.
"I'm not facing the entirety of our graduating class without you. What if Vision comes with his brother Tony? I'd honestly die..."
"Wanda, you're literally married to a gorgeous woman, you have a brilliant set of two year olds, and you run a well known business that you built from the ground up. Last I heard, Vis is still as single as ever, because even his trust fund couldn't make the asshole desirable."
"That we built you mean, you're my partner in crime, stop selling yourself short."
Her sudden gasp nearly topples you over as you were on your tippy toes trying to reach a pair of flats.
"Oh my gosh! What if Natasha comes with Yelena?! Y/N/N! This could be your chance."
You'd honestly considered the possibility, even allowed yourself a moment of foolish hope; then swiftly refused to get your hopes up that she'd be there, let alone that she'd be single and still want you.
"Wands, let's not start believing in fairytale's."
"That's the difference between us Y/N/N, I never really stopped, and good thing because believing in them led me to Carol."
"Yeah, your story is rather magical." You lightly chuckle, while painfully searching through your closet for something worthy of the reunion.
"I know... Now, let's find you something worth Natasha's time." Wanda claps her hands, then shoves you away from your closet to take over.
"I'm sure she has better things to do than show up to her little sisters five year high school reunion, who even celebrates five years?"
"Kate Belova does, even more reason to believe Natasha will be there..."
"I still can't believe Yelena and Kate really just switched last names when they got married." You giggle, and Wanda sends a mom glare your way for deflecting, and you shiver at the sight.
"She's probably out on a date with her partner, or helping her kids with their school work."
"You've just imagined a full life for her then?"
"Of course, all I ever wanted was for her to be happy Wands, and I would never dream misery for her in an attempt to ease my own."
"Oh Y/N/N... I'll wish it for you then, that girl absolutely destroyed you, and it's only fair she be as miserable..."
"Yes, but only in the best way possible. She loved me so well that I couldn't fathom anyone else doing it better. There's no resentment for the redhead in my heart Wands, so please let yours go."
"Fine... Promise me this though, if she's there don't just let her slip away if you have a chance. I just want you to be happy dorogoy, it's been far too long since you last smiled genuinely."
"Promise." You exaggeratedly sigh, then link your pinky with hers before shoving her out so you can change into her decided upon fit.
"You act like I've never seen you naked before... Whatever though, I'll respect your boundaries, but you only got ten minutes!" She shouts through the door, you simply roll your eyes and change into the selected upon suit.
——
Natasha stood by the punch bowl, with a couple flasks of vodka in hand to slip in. Groaning outwardly as she wonders why exactly she'd agreed to come here in the first place. She knew it was because of the rare chance that she'd get to see you walk through those doors, but as the minutes passed on her anxiety continues to peak.
"Sestra, Kate's not watching, do it now." Yelena whispered as she had her back to her sister, slightly shielding her, and Nat immediately dumped the contents into the punch.
"Just like your Senior year prom." Yelena chuckles, as she helps her sister clean up any spillage.
Natasha smiles as she remembers the prom fondly, having had the luxury of bringing you along; even if you were just a sophomore, they thankfully allowed plus one tickets for underclassmen.
•~~~~~~~~~~~~•~~~~~~~~~~~~•
"Natasha did you get her a corsage?" Melina asks, as she helps straighten out the suit her daughter had selected.
"I-I, mom, you know I'm not traditional."
"Nonsense! What color is her dress?"
"Green." Natasha states with a smile, remembering the way you had told her that her eyes had inspired the dress.
"Okay, pick between these." She mutters, laying out orange, white, and purple."
"Mom, what the—."
"They contrast well with green, do not doubt me Natasha..."
Natasha simply nodded, and decided the white would reflect well with the deep, forest green dress you'd selected. Plus, her suit was white, so it would be another way to tie you two together.
As the time ticked on, she'd become increasingly worried you wouldn't make it down her stairs, then suddenly Yelena came running down with her clarinet in hand. Before Natasha could even question it, Yelena began to play the 'Here comes the bride' tune as you began to make your way down. She expertly side stepped to avoid the slap from her sister, but she definitely winced at the glares sent her way.
Melina had glared her way as well, planning a future admonishment, but she was entirely too focused on getting photos of you.
"Detka, you look, jeez, you look—."
"Jesus, Natasha, we all know you're gay but come on, you're already running late." Yelena grumbles, and this time her mother successfully delivers the slap to her head.
"Sidet!" She commands, and points to the couch, and the shit stirrer walks away.
You lightly giggle at the dysfunction, then lock your eyes with Natasha's, and give her your full attention.
"You look beyond beautiful detka..." She dreamily breathes out, then she raises the corsage up, and you lift your hand for her.
"Thank you darling, you look rather dapper yourself..." You relay, and your heart clenches at the sight of her widened smile.
Melina cleared her throat, then instructed the both of you to face her for a photoshoot. Natasha wrapped her arms around you from behind, and the two of you took about three good photos before becoming goofballs.
The dance was honestly full of idiots, who were either twerking all over one another, or eating each other's faces. Natasha refused to partake, instead she used her years of dance experience, and her iPod touch to make it far more memorable.
There was an outside patio for anyone who'd felt like they just needed to cool down; after utilizing the photo booth, and drinking some spiked punch, she pulled your unsuspecting form outside. She placed her suit jacket over your shoulders to protect you from the New York chill, then found an unoccupied corner.
"Natty, what are you doing?"
"Well, I plan to dance the night away with the love of my life, sound good?"
"Yeah, but why are we outside?"
Smirking your way, she settles a hand on your waist, then presses play on the selected song: She Keeps me Warm — Mary Lambert.
"Too stuffy inside, I just want you..." She whispers, sliding her hand to your lower back, then placing her other hand on your upper back, and gently sways you.
You don't question it, rather enjoying the intimacy that the twinkling lights, and the lack of sweaty bodies surrounding you afforded you.
"I'll name both of your eyes, forever and please don't go..." You quietly sing along, and the double meaning isn't lost on your girlfriend as she pulls you closer.
Natasha's selected playlist is a medley of love songs from across the ages, and she loves the way that you also appreciate the classics alongside the new age. She spins you out, and lets go of your hand, then smirks at you as the next lyrics sung out.
"Take my hand..."
With a playful roll of your eyes you do as she says, then lay your head against her shoulder as she continues to sing to you in her melodic voice.
"Take my whole life too. For I can't help falling in love with you."
She pulls back slightly, lifting your face to meet her gaze, as she sings directly to you.
"Like a river flows, surely to the sea. Darling, so it goes, Some things are meant to be..."
Then she pulls you in for a tender kiss, slowly moving her lips against yours, as she just cherishes the the way you feel against her.
"I can't help falling in love with you..." She mumbles against your lips, then buries her face into the crook of your neck for the remainder of your time outside.
When time to announce the prom royalty rolls around, she scoffs, then drags you off to her car instead. You watch her in amusement as she takes prom night, and makes it uniquely her own. Natasha finishes the night with you at a diner, sharing a Neapolitan shake, and a plate of fries with you. She smiles in pure adoration as she watches you dip your fry into the shake, and thinks about how much she doesn't want this to end.
The night does end though, and it was perfect. Natasha traced her fingers soothingly down your face, as your breaths finally evened out. Delicately, she'd kissed your lips, giggling to herself as you tried to reciprocate in your sleep. Exhaustion attempted to consume her as she cuddled into you, but she fought it as best she could. For a fleeting moment she was able to just admire all of your features. She sighed once she fully settled into sleeping bag; sleeping on the living room floor was a small price to pay if it meant she could do it with you in her arms.
•~~~~~~~~~~~~•~~~~~~~~~~~~•
"Let's just hope the girl shows this time..." She humorlessly laughs, as a silent tear falls, and she discreetly wipes it away.
"Oh, she will. Wanda Maximoff RSVP'd for the both of them, and that girl doesn't commit to things lightly, she'll have her here.." Yelena reassures her, with a firm squeeze to her shoulder before leaving her once more.
Natasha pours herself a glass of vodka infused punch, then she downs it within a second before pouring out another and heading off to a corner for brooding.
—————————————————————
Your very first day
Take a deep breath, girl
Take a deep breath as you walk through the doors...
—————————————————————
The car ride isn't long, but it feels like hours as you sit in the passenger seat and wonder what you'll find behind those doors.
"It's not fair, I was here first, why does Y/N/N get the front seat..." Pietro whines, 'accidentally' kicking at the back of your seat.
"Because Piet, I'm Wanda's favorite." You snark, then move the seat back even farther, as you suddenly needed ample amounts of room to fit your ego.
"Because, our dear little Y/N here needs to stay in pristine condition in case Natasha is there, and the backseat would just wrinkle her suit." Wanda relays, taking a really sharp right, and chuckling at your collective grumbles.
"You'd think having kids would've made you a better driver." You shriek, while Pietro feigns illness in the backseat.
"You didn't die though." She quips, as she finally pulls into your destination, then turns to both of you with a devious smirk as she parks.
"Let's go!!!" She shouts eagerly with a clap to her hands, and you both reluctantly follow her.
Pietro runs ahead as soon as he catches sight of his old track buddies—Sam and Bucky, and they both wave back to you and Wanda with kind smiles before heading inside.
"Hey, I need you to breath sweets, I can't see your chest rising and falling..."
You inhale deeply, then release a long, exaggerated breath, Wanda rolls her eyes as she steps ahead and turns to face you.
"Listen to me Y/N, you deserve happiness, if she's here, and available you just need to shoot your shot. If she isn't, then maybe have a conversation to gather some closure, then be open to moving on to someone new. Stop psyching yourself out, you deserve the world, and if I had been into the brooding type maybe you and I could've given it to you."
"Gross... You did give me the world though Wands, you gave me a found family of people that love me unconditionally..."
"Stop, don't make me cry, I only brought a backup lipgloss."
....
"Just breathe, and then follow me in..."
Wanda the walks through the doors, and you stare at them closing, before taking in a shaky breath. The doors open once more, and as you force yourself to walk in the sound of your name being called sends a pang to your heart, and regret instantly washes over you.
"Y/N/N, it's been too long, I miss you..."
"Mon... How are you?" You manage to get out, swallowing thickly as you do your best to remain composed as her arms wrapped around you.
"I'm doing well, I see you changed your number, I hope that wasn't my fault..."
Of course it was...
"Where's Rogers?"
"Steve is getting us a sampler plate, but I just saw Wanda enter so I knew you wouldn't be too far behind. So I had to come see you..."
"Monica, what are your intentions here? Honestly, I'm too exhausted to play one of your back and forth games..."
"This isn't some game Y/N, I just miss my best friend, and I know I screwed up, but I'm not going to pass up the only chance I have at getting you back in my life."
"This isn't the place for this conversation, but since you started it, I'll finish it. You're right, I did change my number because of you. You broke me, had you just asked for a divorce I would've understood, I know I wasn't the wife that you deserved. But God, Mon, I was the best friend, and I know you know that. You wanted something from me that you knew deep down I couldn't give, and instead of bowing out you chose to hurt me in the cruelest way possible. To take the little faith I had left in love and crush it was beyond forgiving. I love you Mon, I always will, but I just can't trust you, and that is where we end. Go, be happy, and please don't try to contact me again." You say in a hushed tone, doing your best to not embarrass either of you in front of a room of your peers.
The obvious tension, and Monica's not so quiet sobs stifle your attempt for privacy. So, with shaky hands, and unshed tears hanging in your lashes you walked away from the crying woman, and approached the refreshments.  The ladle was shaking as you tried to pour the punch into your glass, but a soft hand hovered over yours in an attempt to steady it.
"Wands, I'm okay, go have fun..." You shakily whisper, as a tear betrays you and falls on her hovering hand.
"Long time no see, pretty eyes... I thought I had told you, lying isn't very ladylike..."
She caught the ladle before it could splash the punch all over the place, and then she gently gripped your arm to drag you somewhere more private. Natasha took you down a hallway, pushing you into a vacant closet, and then once behind the door she pulled you into her strong arms.
"Let it all out detka, I'm right here..."
Your legs almost instantly gave out, so your hands gripped tightly to her shirt. Natasha immediately lowered the both of you to the floor, leaning against a wall, as she just held you close. You buried your face against her in a desperate attempt to ground yourself.
"I'm not going anywhere sweetheart, I got you." She coos, as she lightly rocks you, and rubs comforting circles into your back.
After a few minutes your sobs had dwindled into the sparsest of tears, and sporadic hiccups, then almost instantly the embarrassment flushes through your body at the predicament you find yourself in.
"God, I'm so sorry Natasha... This is just pathetic, you should go back to the party..." You bitterly chuckle, attempting to pull out of her lap, but she pulls you right back in.
"Hey, nothing about you is pathetic... I meant it, I'm not leaving you, I'm only here for you." She whispers, while cupping at your cheeks and it's then that you see her equally glassy eyes filling you with immediate guilt.
"Oh, please don't cry..." You mutter, as you then rotate to kneel in front of her, and gently wipe away at the falling tears.
Natasha gently smiles at you, before kissing your palms, then while feeling rather bold you surged forward and connected your lips with hers. Her arms immediately wrapped around your waist as you moved to straddle her so that she could pull you that much closer.
"God, I missed these lips so much..."
She whispers against your parted lips.
"... and these pretty eyes, that just sparkle..."
She continues, while wiping the residual tears,
"... oh and this face, it's such a beautiful one..." and her fingers tenderly traced your cheeks.
"Most importantly though, I missed the entirety of you, my heart ached without you. There's not much I regret in my life Y/N/N, but leaving you is definitely at the top of my list."
"Hey, no... You had to go, I couldn't be the reason you gave up your dreams Natty."
"Well, let me tell you, I've gotten that little folded paper with my name on it—twice, and I've never felt more alive than I do right here and now." She humorlessly laughs out, as her hands find a new resting place on your hips.
"You're the only part of my dream worth pursuing, the missing piece..." She mutters with so much conviction that you have no choice but to believe her.
"When I saw you got married, my heart had split in two, I nearly flunked out my final year of my undergrad because I was so distraught. I'd always expected it, because of course someone would come through and scoop you up. Somehow, I pulled it together though, and graduated. Then I decided to further my education and go for my masters, but literally right after I started I found out Monica just moved on. I was honestly confused, because who would willingly give up forever with you, I knew I was an idiot when I drove away. Judging by the conversation I just witnessed though, I'm guessing it wasn't amicable."
"Well, when you left I was very distraught myself, I did my best to move on, but it never really worked out. Monica was my close friend first, so the switch in intimacy after high school wasn't too hard, but in the end it couldn't work. She wasn't you, and over time I just couldn't fake it anymore. Instead of just ending things though, she chose to completely destroy me. Cheating on me with my assistant, and doing so in my own office. There's no way it wasn't deliberate, it's like she wanted to punish me for not being able to love her how she wanted, well I guess deserved is the better word for it. She truly deserved better, but in the end so did I. Honestly, I'd sworn love off, having accepted that I'd only ever get the one great one. You were truly my greatest love story Natasha..."
"Were?" She asks, with her bottom lip caught between her teeth to contain the trembling.
"I'm a bit of a basket case Nat, are you sure you really want to pursue this?"
"Y/N, I just told you how much I need you, please don't make me beg..."
"Seeing you beg sounds kinda hot though..." You lustily whispered, while intentionally adjusting yourself in her lap, and smirking as she tightly gripped your hips to still you.
"Oh, detka, you're playing a dangerous game..."
"Good thing I live for danger then..."
Natasha quite literally tackled you onto the hardwood floors, hand behind your head to offer only the slightest protection. Your grunt of pain was muffled as her lips smashed to yours, tongue swiping across your bottom lip in search of permission that you'd immediately granted. A moan flew from your throat as her hands felt you up over your clothes, and her tongue glided across your own.
Instantly the taste of the punch and vodka transcends across your tastebuds, and you freeze. Your inhibitions are low, but eventually you manage to pull away from her lips once her hand begins to unbutton your undershirt.
"Natty, stop, you've been drinking..."
"Oh, sweet girl, always so considerate... Yelena and I might've spiked the punch, so I had maybe a shot, and I'm Russian so really it was just spicy water... I'll obviously stop if you want, but just know that you're not taking advantage of me..."
"Really?"
"Yes moya lyubov', I would honestly wait forever for you..."
With the tendernesses in her eyes, and the clarity on her sobriety, you pull her back in, slightly rolling your hips into hers and gasping at the unexpected bulge.
"Oh, yeah... I was really optimistic.." She chuckles against your lips, then reluctantly she pulls back to work on removing your pesky suit.
Her mouth falls open at the sight of your glistening core, and even though she wants to cherish every inch of you right now, she's aware that there's an invisible time limit in place. So, she pulls her pants down, then watches as your eyes darken once the strap springs out of her boxers, and she drops to straddle you once more.
"You're already dripping, you think you can handle me sweetheart?" She rasps into your ear, and you nod vigorously.
"Words detka..."
"Yes.. I'm so ready... Please fill me up..."
Natasha runs her fingers through your folds, collecting your arousal and spreading it over the strap, then bringing the excess up to her lips she sucks her fingers in to get a taste. She moans around her fingers, then moves to line her toy up with your entrance.
"Fuck..." She lowly gasps at how easily she slides in, and her lips meet yours for a sweet kiss, and her hips moved against yours at a painfully slow pace, reaching deep within you, but never with enough friction to really get you anywhere but desperate.
Once she had you squirming, and felt you whining into her mouth, she just couldn't hold back anymore. Tightly gripping at your hips to steady herself, she moved into a far more brutal pace, and began to trail her lips down until she had your nipple in her mouth. Your legs wrapped around her, pushing her even deeper into you, and simultaneously causing it to rub against Natasha's clit. The new angle caused the coil in Natasha’s abdomen to tighten as her own high quickly approached.
Natasha’s grunts, your muffled moans, and the sloshing sounds coming from your dripping cunt were truly a beautiful medley. Making up for lost time had honestly never felt so good, and neither of you truly wanted it to end.
Natasha could tell you were close though, as your choppy moans were now filling the tiny space around the both of you. Your ability to contain them any longer obviously lost in your dizzy state. She detached her lips from your breasts, smirking widely as she peered down at the marks she'd just left behind.
She suddenly pulled out, and aggressively slammed back into you at a different angle, hitting the furthest depths of you and causing you to scream out in pleasure. Quickly, she had slammed her lips to yours to stifle your moans, in an ill-fated attempt to keep passerby's from hearing in. Natasha could only hope no one had been near, but at the same she couldn’t bring herself to actually care when she had finally had you beneath her again.
Slowing her pace allowed you to really enjoy the fullness of your orgasm, and the feel of your hands kneading at her breasts had sent her tumbling into her own. Her hips stuttered against yours, and her face fell to the crook of your neck as she moved to regulate her breathing.
As she pulled out, all that she could think about was tasting you, so she quickly found her way to your dripping folds.
“Shhh, I’m just going to clean you up detka, I know you’re sensitive my sweet girl…” She coo’d against your folds, and you attempted to shimmy away, but her firm grip on your thighs held you in place.
Once she’d collected the totality of your arousal, she placed a kiss to your clit, then giggled as your body jolted. Then she worked to redress you, pulling your bottoms back on for you, but before she could do the same with your top you’d reached out to stop her. Her brows furrowed, but quickly settled as she saw you settle upon your knees, and watched as your doe eyes dropped to her strap.
Natasha watched in a lust inspired daze as you worked your mouth over her strap, faltering ever so slightly, before taking it in its entirety, as you effortlessly cleaned off your arousal. Your tears were slowly falling down your cheeks; no longer heartbreakingly so, but instead purely drawn out by pleasure, and something about the sight had Natasha’s core clenching around nothing.
Natasha groaned as your head began to bob with vigor, the sight alone had her ready to burst; your unrelenting movements successfully pushed her over the edge of bliss once more. She held firmly against the wall to keep herself upright, while working to catch her breath, which proved rather difficult as she watched as your puffed up lips released her strap with a pop, and a trail of spit mixed with spirts of your arousal followed you.
Her heart burst as she watched you pulling up her ruined boxers, and then her slacks, placing a sweet kiss to her abdomen before tenderly tucking her strap back into her boxers, then securing her pants in place. You shakily stood up, then found your naked body pressed against the door, as she pulled you in for a vulnerable kiss, that somehow conveyed anything that had remained unsaid.
"You know, this is nowhere close to how I'd envisioned this reunion, but I like to think it's perfectly us." Natasha endearingly relays, as she places soft kisses across your face.
"Funnily enough, I'd expected you to have moved onto something better, so this was a more than welcomed surprise for me."
"Oh, my angel, I've only ever wanted you, since that day I saw you and Lena playing in the backyard and then I joined in for your game of tag. I obviously didn’t know what it meant then, but when I saw you Junior year it had clicked."
"You mean when my mom dropped me off for the first time after meeting your parents?"
"Yeah, you were just so gentle, and incredibly kind. Lena scraped her knee, and I remember you'd comforted her almost instantly. Here you were, a complete stranger, and you were still just so loving. Then, Melina and I watched in awe as she actually let you hold her, because normally all Yelena wanted was for mama to tend to her. You've always been the sweetest thing, making everyone around you feel safe, and I've found over time that my heart just never beats properly when you're away."
“I love you Natasha…” You whimper out, as you try not to cry again for the umpteenth time, but fail miserably.
“Thanks… You’re pretty cool, I guess…” She teases, and you’re grateful to her for lightening the mood.
Natasha and you snuck off to find a bathroom in a fit of hushed giggles as to not draw attention to the closet you were clearly exiting. Once reaching the singular stalled bathroom you both got to fixing your appearances. You splashed water on your face, allowing it to cool your heated skin, before wiping off the remnants of her smeared lipstick, then fixing your destroyed hair to the best of your ability, and straightening out your suit.
Natasha watched you fixing yourself up, then as soon as you seemed content with yourself she'd pulled you into her for another sweet kiss, transferring her deep red lip onto yours.
"Natty, I just got your lipstick off..."
"I know, leave it..."
"Marking your territory already? Haven't even properly asked me out yet..."
"Oh yes, sorry, must've slipped my mind as I was just a bit busy confessing my everlasting feelings for you, then proceeding to make love to you right there on the janitors floors."
Your lips curled at the way she described your previous entanglement of bodies so tenderly, and you cheekily replied:
"All is forgiven... So go ahead, ask..."
"Y/N, will you go out with—."
"Yes!!!" You squeal, effectively cutting her off, as you smash your lips to hers.
"Oh, this is awkward, I was offering you up to Vision, heard he's still single." She winces, as you slap her arm and go to leave before she grabs your hand.
"I'm just messing around, no way I'd ever give you up again. Now, let's get back to the party before anyone notices.”
"Natty, I guarantee you they've noticed." You laugh out while exiting the restroom without her.
Once you slipped back into the event, you'd looked all over for Wanda, then your jaw clenched as you saw Vision infiltrating her space. Natasha walked in right after you, and followed your gaze to find why you'd suddenly become tense.
"Detka..."
Before she could even finish you were stomping over to save your best friend.
"Wanda, what could that woman possibly have, that I can't give you?"
"Oh buddy, a flea could offer so much more than you ever could!" You growled, while shoving his hand off her shoulder, and yanking Wanda behind you for safety.
"Oh, if it isn't little lezzy, I see you corrupted poor Wanda, but I guess you just weren't enough for her, or anyone for that matter. I heard Monica cheated on you, and I mean we all know Natasha drove across the country to get away from —."
He was cut off by a fist to the face, you felt a pain in your hand, and it's then that you realize it is you that punched him. Vision went to deck you, but before he could even rear back Natasha punched him properly, and he was out like a light.
"Go Romanoff!!!!" Tony shouts, clearly drunker than anyone else in the room, as he cheers on his brother’s downfall.
"Y/N..."
"I'm fine.."
"No, detka, you're not. We need to ice your hand."
Natasha went off to collect you some ice, and you turned to Wanda with a sad smile.
"Hey, are you okay?"
"Of course I am, my best friend swooped in like a knight in shining armor and saved me. However, she had her own knight right behind her that requires explanation."
"She came back for me, apparently we're both miserable without the other." You smiled, and Wanda matched your smile before observing your hand with a frown.
"You know what he said isn't true right? Platonically speaking, you’re everything to me."
"Yeah, I know Wands..." You sigh, then wince as her fingers go over your bruised knuckles.
“Plus, we’d be too powerful as a couple.” You state, and the both of you giggle at the thought.
Natasha came running over in a panic with a bucket of ice, and ace bandages that you’d wondered where she found them, then the women worked together to help you.
While the women tended to Y/N's  hand, Yelena watched from a hidden corner, with freshly buttered popcorn in her lap, and a mischievous smile.
"Sweetheart, where'd you get popcorn?"
"Jesus, Kate Belova, you can't sneak up on me like that..."
"My sincerest apologies Yelena Bishop." She condescends, before moving to ask her about her current suspicions.
"So, was this the plan all along? Matchmaking, and then shit stirring?"
"Da."
"Makes sense then why you asked to be in charge of the invites, and why only a select few were actually sent."
"My beautiful wife, you should know better than to trust me, so really, this is your fault."
"Is not!"
"Your name was on the invitations."
"Now Y/N's going to be mad at me."
"Y/N is a puppy dog who just got the love of her life back, she won't even think to be mad."
Kate sighs, but then Yelena continues.
"Now, Natasha, she will be furious, but don't worry dorogoy, I'll protect you." Yelena says, then laughs boisterously, and the hide out is quickly exposed.
"Yeah, well the couch is calling your name, so enjoy your sleep, I'm sure Fanny will keep you warm."
——
As you enter your house you toss your keys into the dish, then used your good hand to pet Mr. Mittens, and he tilted his head in bewilderment as he took in your bandaged hand.
"You spend too much time with Wanda..."
He audibly huffs, then his gaze swiftly looks passed you, and then you hear the scuffling of wheels, and the door lightly closing.
"Your place is cute." She comments, as she wraps her arms around you from behind, and settles her head on your shoulder then extends one hand out to your calico.
Mr. Mittens sniffs her hand cautiously, then nudges his head under her hand, and you nearly choke at the sight.
"It could be ours if you'd like, I don't want to push you, but I also don't want to just start over with you either..." You lowly mumble, confidence having faded almost instantly.
"Plus, Mr. Mittens loves you, and that's rare."
"Well, let's see..." She ponders the invitation, while rotating you in her arms.
"I literally gave my life in California up just on a whim in the hopes of finding you, then just today: I've knocked someone out for you, confessed my feelings, and I even stripped you down in a janitors closet. Nothing about what I've done indicates plans to start over."
"So, if you'll have me, then I'm yours."
"Welcome home then darling..." You beam, and smile as Natasha lifts you by your thighs and carries you to the couch, then she falls back with you on top of her.
"Hey Alexa, play my greatest hit playlist." You shout, and a gentle tune starts to play, as you cuddle into the love of your life.
Natasha watches intently as you fall asleep almost instantly, observing the slightest of differences in your appearance since she'd last held you seven years ago. Your face had slimmed ever so slightly, you stopped dyeing the ends of your hair, and you've definitely gained a few beauty marks while living under the sun. Somehow you'd managed to get even more beautiful, and she believes that should be a crime.
Regardless of the changes though, she's just grateful to have you back in her arms, where you’ve always belonged.
"I came back for you detka, just like you'd asked..." She whispers, then pulls a blanket over you from atop the couch, and falls into a blissful sleep.

I chose not to write their first time together because they were minors in that portion of the storyline so really I felt the allusion to it was just more kosher.
So, in an attempt not to rob anyone, I gave you their “brief” closeted 🥁 reunion 😂
The elongated smutty portion is truly what made this so late 😳
Also, not that this specific age gap would offend anyone, but Y/N and Natasha are more like 1.5 years apart since she's a December baby and got to start school before turning five.
It took longer than a couple hours because I got distracted and also ya girl had to get ready for work lol (Graveyard shifter)

The distraction — I got these cute hangers of sorts on Etsy and they arrived when I was writing.

*Yelena cooking while listening to a 80's playlist - Running up that hill (A deal with God) by Kate Bush starts playing*
*Kate suddenly turns up the volume and hugs Yelena from behind*
Kate: Come, dance with me. Please?
"And if I only could, I'd make a deal with God And I'd get him to swap our places Be running up that road Be running up that hill Be running up that building See if I only could, oh"
Yelena, blushing lacing her arms around Kate's neck: Kate Bishop, I didn't think you'd like this music.
Kate, swaying to the music hugging Yelena's waist: I do since it makes me think of you.
Yelena: Is that your way to hint that I'm old?
Kate, looking softly in Yelena's eyes: I would never. It's just the lyrics. They resonate. I love you so much, I'd take your place anytime if that means you're safe - uhnn
*Yelena interrupting Kate with a kiss*
Yelena, with tears shining in her eyes: I love you too, more than you'll ever know. And we don't need to swap anything. I just need you.
