please do something with peter parker for vday. I miss you writing for him
I started writing this one last year for Valentine's Day...forgive me for the long wait
Tumblr media
‘’No, you don’t understand, Ned. It needs to be perfect,’’ Peter explained, turning to his best friend for help.
‘’My longest and only relationship lasted about sixty hours, so I’m not really the one to come to for Valentine’s Day gift ideas.’’
‘’Uncle Ben always gave May flowers and chocolate.’’ And Peter always tried to steal chocolate from the box. ‘’But Y/N is Mr. Stark’s daughter, I can’t just buy her flowers and chocolate. She’ll think I’m poor.’’
‘’Didn’t you tell me this morning that you only have five dollars in your pockets?’’ Ned recalled, taking one of the homemade cookies his lola had put into his lunch bag and taking a bite. There was one for Peter too, but he was too busy worrying and panicking.
Peter groaned and hid his face in his crossed arms, frustrated and desperate. Being broke was a second problem to his Valentine’s Day plan. ‘’What am I gonna do? Valentine’s Day is in two days. I can’t not get her anything.’’
‘’If you go back to the roots of Valentine’s Day, it’s about celebrating love. You don’t have to spend money to show someone you love them.’’ Peter opened his mouth, but Ned spoke first. ‘’Even if she’s a Stark and bathes in money,’’ he added. ‘’She didn’t fall in love with you because of your economic status, she fell in love because of who you are.’’
On the big day, Peter set everything up in his living room. May was on a date with Happy, so he had the apartment to himself — until 10pm. He didn’t have a projector, so he made one with a shoebox and a magnifying glass, and hung a sheet to one of the walls to turn into a screen. He made cheese pastas and brought over the single chocolate cupcake he was able to afford.
He was nervous, constantly checking his phone waiting for your ‘I’m here’ text. When he finally got it, Peter rushed to the door, smoothing his button up and fixing his hair before opening. If he was this nervous for Valentine’s Day, he didn’t want to imagine the nervous wreck he would be at his wedding.
Not that he was planning on getting married anytime soon.
‘’Happy Valentine’s Day,’’ you said with a smile on your glossy lips.
Peter said the words back and let you in, gulping when his eyes fell on the small gift bag you were holding. You set it down on the table to take off your coat and boots, revealing a pink sweater and a sparkly necklace that cost probably more than anything in May's apartment.
You followed Peter to the living room, excitement bubbling in your stomach when seeing the frozen image of your favorite rom-com projected on the wall.  ‘’You made this?’’
Peter gave you a small nod. Projectors were easy to make. He learned how in a science book for kids when he was nine. May was so impressed when he showed her his ‘magic box’.
‘’It’s not much, but—’’ he started to say, but you shut him up with a kiss.
‘’Stop it,’’ you said, guessing his train of  thoughts. ‘’This is the best Valentine’s Day gift ever.’’
You never had another valentine before him — beside the little boys in middle school who sent you cards and heart lollipops  —, but Peter’s gift came from the heart. It was thoughtful and personal, therefore meant a lot to you.
After eating the pastas, you handed Peter the gift bag. He was nervous just from holding it.
He slowly pulled out the festive tissue papers and groaned when seeing a red and blue plush toy. ‘’Spiderman? Really?’’ Peter made an annoyed face. He didn't want to come off as ungrateful, but he was getting tired of the jokes with the Spiderman merch he had no control over.
‘’Press his chest,’’ you instructed, ignoring his complaints.
Peter gave you a confused look, but listened. ‘’I love you, my Spidey,’’ the toy said.
You watched his expressions shift from confusion to surprise, Peter’s eyes widening when he recognized the sound of your voice. A genuine smile spread across his face, the small plush taking a whole other meaning. ‘’That's your voice,’’ he whispered, still holding the talking Spiderman plush.
You nodded, the sparks in Peter’s eyes telling you that no expensive gift could have matched this one. He was truly touched. ‘’I know you don’t like when I get you expensive things, so I didn’t get you a new watch,’’ you explained, thinking back at the Cartier watch you hesitated on last week. He would have hated it.
Turning toward you, Peter enveloped you in a hug to properly thank you.
Your arms wrapped around him in return. ‘’Even when I’m not with you, you’ll always have something to remind you that I love you.’’

modern!batboys as (your) roommates - headcanons.
because let's be honest, we have all thought about that at some point.🦇
(this is the introduction of my new drabble universe!!! I can´t tell you how fucking excited I am.)
it would be wrong to say that your life was boring before you met the three idiots you now call your roommates
sure, it wasn't as exciting
but you had your tiny little apartment, went out with friends once in a while and mostly enjoyed having your own space and routines
but then
shit hits the fan
and by shit I mean your landlord
because of a loophole in the rental agreement, he's able to kick you out of your apartment with only a months notice
in other words
you're fucked
or, as your best friend Feyre, who you met the first week of orientation and became inseperable with, says -
"That bastard." Feyre's eyes are stormy.
"What the hell am I gonna to do?" You bury your face in your hands, your voice muffled when you mumble: "How am I supposed to find a new apartment in a few weeks? For this one, I looked over a year, and it's a glorified shoebox!" Your voice rises as you feel a wave of dread crash over you and your heart rising into your throat.
"Hey, it's okay. If worst comes to worst, you can crash at my place,", Feyre raises her brows, "even though we'd have to share my bed, but - I won't just let you sleep on a park bench if that's what you're worried about. Unless you find another glorified shoebox that's technically out of your budget, it's you and me, crashing on my bed, climbing over your stuff to get to the bathroom, finding out what married life would feel like."
even though you love her to death, that really does not sound like an option you want to explore
so you try everything
scouring every paper for apartment advertisments, posting on your uni's socials, going to all the viewings you can find -
nothing
but just when you're ready to just give up
a miracle happens
the miracle is 5'5, has impeccable style and hair, a love for deep red lipstick and drops by for lunch
Mor has been your friend for two years now, since you almost spilled your coffee over her laptop at the library
(she's still not letting you live that down)
she also likes to get you out of your comfort zone
"Are you serious?" Mor stares at you wide-eyed.
"Yep." You tiredly stir your coffee. "I've been turned away for twenty apartments in the past few days alone. I'm aready seeing myself bunking with Feyre. She offered, but her bed barely fits into her apartment as it is."
Mor breathes a giggle before hastily clearing her throat. "Sorry."
You grin weakly before rubbing your face. "I don't know what I'm gonna do. I know it could be even worse, but -"
"It already feels pretty shitty,", Mor ends. You sigh in confirmation and are about to change the topic, because you haven't seen the blonde in weeks and feel bad about ruining your lunch. But before you can open your mouth, Mor suddenly squints in thought. Then she looks at you.
"How much do you value your privacy?
Given the fact you'll be basically homeless on the street in about a week if you don't find a new place - not much.
Mor begins to grin, and there's a bright twinkle in her eyes.
"Well, then I might just have the solution."
the next day, Mor drags you downtown
she takes you to an old but sophisticated building you wouldn't even dream about living in
a single month's rent there would probably empty your whole bank account
but Mor just winks and pulls you up the stairs
on the third floor, a guy leans in an open door
and that
is how you meet Rhys.
Mor's cousin is annoyingly beautiful
tall, with perfectly tousled dark hair, a perfect grin that causes his cheeks to crease and, from the looks of it, the also perfect physique
he's also annoyingly charming
(if you'd met him somewhere without Mor, you would have probably gaped for a moment before catching onto the mischievous twinkle in his nearly violet eyes and promptly avoided him, because someone that pretty had to have some fault)
as it turns out, Rhys' fault is offering practical strangers to live with him without even batting an eye
"What?"
You blink at Mor from where you just sank onto the very comfortable couch, because she can't possibly -
"Okay, before you freak out, just listen, okay?" Mor is grinning giddily. "The guys have a free room they don't really use anyway and you really need a new place - so you could just move in here!" She beams. "The place is definitely big enough, and you'd fit in perfectly, I promise! They're just as chaotic as you, but also very responsible -"
"Mostly." Rhys' eyes are twinkling. He's looking completely and slightly concerningly unbothered by the prospect of you, a factual stranger, moving in with him and his friends.
"- they don't have any bad habits, they're fairly neat -"
"Mostly."
Mor widens her eyes at you. "It's perfect!"
You blink at her.
"I've already talked to my roommates." Rhys' deep voice is almost soothing - mostly because he sounds a lot calmer than Mor, steady and reassuring.
"If you want, this can be temporary, until you find a place just for yourself, but this way you don't have to stress about needing to find a place in a certain time, plus,", he cracks a grin, "I don't like the idea of you having to crash on somebody's couch in the foreseeable future, that's just bullshit if we got a free room here no one uses anway. And if this works,", one corner of his lips quirks even more until his grin is a lot closer to the wicked twinkle in his eyes, "none of us would mind another roommate."
"You don't have to decide right now." Mor smiles brightly. "But I think it would be great, and you'd make a bargain with the rent, because Rhys loves to play sugar daddy -", her cousin flips her off, "and I think this would be a really good idea." She grins, suddenly a little sheepish.
if you weren't so desperate, you would whip out about a dozen arguments about why this probably isn't a good idea
like the fact that rooming with three dudes sounds like a lot of testosteron, or that you don't even know them, and that they don't even know you -
but from the way Rhys lounges in his chair, smirking easily while Mor beams at you, he doesn't seem to see too much of a problem in that
also you are very, very desperate
but there´s still that one thing -
"About those roommates -"
When you hear the door, you raise your head, your heart doing a slightly concerning flip in your chest.
It's a day later, and you just finished a tour of the apartment Rhys has given you. Even though it's huge and very grand with it's high ceilings decorated with stucco and the original hardwood floors, it feels warm and cozy. The room you'd be sleeping in is as big as your whole current apartment, light with two big window and a view of the trees on the street outside.
It kind of makes you wonder where the catch is.
Maybe it's about to walk through the door.
You hear a deep voice and heavy footsteps, then a dude appears in the door to the kitchen.
Your heart does a somersault, and you feel your lips part a bit. Because frankly, it's a miracle he makes it through the door without hitting his head.
The guy's huge. His shoulders and chest strain against his t-shirt; he looks like one of those dudes who basically have muscle in their DNA, all corded muscle under ridiculously huge shoulders and a solid middle, muscular long legs under black jeans -
And you're staring.
Big time.
The dude's looking over his shoulder, which means he thankfully doesn't notice you oggling him. The half of his hair that isn't pulled back in a bun brushes against his neck when he grins, his cheeks creasing. He's really good looking, in a rugged kinda way, with his roughly curved jaw and the scar on the side of his face, and when he looks back ahead, his eyes twinkle warmly.
Then, behind him, another guy appears in the doorway, and your breath catches.
Because if Rhys is annoyingly beautiful, the guy in the door is drop-dead gorgeous.
Just like the other two, he's tall and all lean muscle. His shoulders shift under his black t-shirt as he leans against the doorframe, his hands sliding into the pockets of his black jeans. His eyes look like amber in sunlight, his dark hair is tousled, a strand curving over his forehead. His face is all angles and soft lips, dark brows that look like he likes to crunch them in a scowl, but right now, he looks fairly relaxed, though his gaze is watchful.
And on yours.
Feeling warmth wash into your cheeks, you hastily look away while crap, crap, crap echoes through your head, because of course he caught you staring.
On to a really great start here.
Your gaze grazes his hands and the bit of uneven skin that merges into veiny, tan forearms before your eyes trail over the tattoos peaking out from his sleeves.
There's the sound of someone clearing their throat, and you feel the heat in your cheeks deepen when your eyes dart up and meet Rhys', a twinkle in his iris when he sends you a lazy grin.
"Boys, this is Y/N." He raises a brow. "Our new roommate."
and that is how you meet Cassian and Azriel
it almost makes you reconsider
because you're really not sure you're gonna survive rooming with three guys that pretty
but after thinking it over for a few days, you realize that you really don't have a choice
and so a week later, Rhys and Cassian come over to your apartment to help you move the first half of your stuff
neither blink an eye at the fact it's about the size of a broom closet in comparison to their home
Rhys does however scowl when he sees the condition of the bathroom
you're ready to sink into the floor when you hastily explain pretty much all the apartments in the building look like that
(a lil dingy and moldy)
but when he turns, Rhys just glowers and grumbles under his breath about how he'd like to rip your landlord a new one
it's the first time you realize that under all the aloofness and swagger and cheeky grins, Rhys cares
it's proven again when you move into your new room a week later and there's a new mattress on the also new bed bed
you haven't bought either of them, but when you try to protest, Rhys just huffs about your back probably being fucked up because of your old one and about how he'll add it to your rent
he never does
you get used to rooming with three guys surprisingly quickly
sure, it is pretty much a total 180 -
going from living alone in a tiny apartment
to sharing a huge flat with three dudes who make the place vibrate with laughter and bicker like they have been married for thirty years
but even tho you never thought you'd be the type to actually enjoy having roommates
you find that with them - you don't really mind
of course it is nice to have the place to yourself sometimes
and after about two weeks, you're comfortable enough to blast your music and dance through the kitchen when you're alone
(yes, at some point, they catch you - it takes you about a minute to realize there are three guys standing in the doorway, watching you dance with a broom. you get a mild heart attack and Cassian and Rhys start cackling while Azriel smirks)
but even if usually there's always someone around -
you find that all three of them are very good at both respecting your boundaries and leaving you be when you need to curl up in your room
but also seem to know when you need someone to drag your ass out into the world
and something about knowing at least one of them will probably be there when you get home makes you feel very warm and fuzzy
and even tho you weren't completely sure about this situation in the beginning
you get roped into living with the three guys instead of just rooming with them
it really starts with Cassian
probably gets used to you living there the quickest
after barely a week, he's treating you like you've lived with them since the beginning
like just sticking his head into your room and roping you into helping him with dinner
it surprises you a little that they all have dinner together
(from what you've heard from friends who have roommates, they usually all do their own thing most of the time)
but it makes you realise that these guys are more family than just roommates
Cassian is surprisingly easy to talk to
he's quick with the quips and the banter
also very flirtatious
constantly makes you laugh, his deep, boisterous chuckles infectous
also super affectionate
you're convinced that the man is actually just a huge teddybear
after just a few weeks, you're used to hugs that lift you off your feet, cheek kisses as greetings and being casually lifted out of the way like you don't weigh anything
not that you're the only one who gets that treatment
no, there are hugs in greeting that make Rhys groan dramatically like his air supply is cut off
pats on the shoulder and smacking forehead kisses that make Azriel crinkle his nose
Cassian quickly becomes the one you go to when you need advice.
he always listens attentively
doesn't sugarcoat things
stays objective while never making you feel bad or less about anything
and it quickly becomes pretty clear he'd put everything aside if any of you ever need help
gives you rides in his beat up truck to uni
always picks you up when studying at the library gets late bc he doesn't like the idea of you out alone after dark
with Cass, even mundane things like grocery shopping become fun
he's just casually funny and teases the shit out of you at every opportunity
has no understanding of the concept of personal space
and with most people, that would kinda put you off a little in the beginning
but Cassian just has something about him
something so inheritly good and warm and sunny
that he never once makes you feel uncomfortable
if anything, with him around, you feel a lot more at ease
and not just bc it's always nice to have a guy in your back that towers over you like a lighthouse
though the whole massive, tatted dude with the dark eyes thing kinda goes out of the window as soon as he grins at you
dimples and all
but don't be fooled
when the grin's gone and he's glaring, you know why people make way for him immediately
works at a gym to earn some money at the side
once, he takes you with him just for fun
then one time becomes another and before you know it, you tag along twice a week
it would be wrong to say it's not doing something to you when he crouches in front of you, his deep voice rumbling as he mumbles encouragements
"Alright, come on, sweetheart, gimme one more."
Trying not to make a very embarassing groaning sound, you crunch your face in concentration and slowly lower yourself into a squat, your muscles trembling slightly.
"There you go, that's it." You can feel Cassian in your back, spotting you, his deep voice rumbling through you, and it's just almost distracing enough for you to -
"No, no, come on, you can do it." Cassian's deep chuckle sets you at ease, and he lightly pats the side of your thigh. "You got this, c'mon."
With a soft groan, you push yourself up again, and you can hear the triumph and wide grin in Cassian's voice when he goes: "Yeeessss, good job, baby. C'mon, you can do one more."
Blowing out a heavy breath and glaring at nothing in particular, you ready yourself.
when one day, he makes you lose focus, you're gonna throw something at him
you're pretty sure he does it on purpose just to see how red you can get
but Cass is really good at pushing you without overdoing it, always teasing and encouraging
and if you manage to do something, in the gym or otherwise, he grins so widely you're almost sure he's more proud of you than you are yourself
Rhys is a flirt.
and after you get over the first initial blush that just won't leave you alone for the first few weeks
it actually becomes entertaining
now bantering back and forth is basically all you do
it gets so bad, Azriel constantly rolls his eyes at the two you
but just like you suspected, behind all the flirtiness and mischievous grins
Rhys cares
a lot
whenever you´re upset, he looks like he's contemplating ripping apart whatever or whoever made you upset
and whenever someone has a go at Cass or Azriel, Rhys picks them apart with lethal precision and a wicked smile
if Cassian is most affectionate, Rhys is close second
he's slightly more casual about it
pinching your nose, flicking your ear softly, offering his cheek for a kiss in greeting
always down for amazing hugs tho
whenever you get on your period, Rhys turns full mother hen
it's actually quite entertaining to see a 6-foot-something dude grumble because you don't want to take painkillers
"I just don't like to take them until it's really necessary, okay?" You glower at Rhys, curling up on the couch and trying to suppress a wince.
Rhys incredulously narrows his eyes.
"You're bleeding from your uterus and look like you want to curl into the couch. I'd say it is pretty necessary."
behind all the snark and arrogance, Rhys cares
also seems to have a rather unhealthy tendency to put everyone else first
you catch on pretty easily that even though his father is absolutely loaded, Rhys doesn't particularly cares about his money
in fact
he doesn't hesitate to spend whatever money his father pumps into his bank accounts for a second
when you ask Mor about it, she just smiles lopsidedly.
"I think it's his kind of protest?" She squints into the sun shining onto the balcony of the flat, the big glass of iced tea in her hand glittering in the light. "You know, spending all that money, preferably on his friends? Mostly because I don't think his father really likes them."
You wince.
"He knows he can't win against his father." Mor crunches her brows in thought. "I think he came to terms with having to take over the business one day, and he cares about the people who have their jobs there, so he won't let them down. It's just hard sometimes, if your whole life is already planned for you." She shrugs gently. "Doing this, living with Cassian and Azriel and now you, spending his fathers money on it and actually having a good time than just being bitter and stuck up - it's his way of not surrendering completely."
you have never met Rhys' father, but even tho he's powerful af
you really feel a strong desire to kick him in the balls
Rhys has a knack of knowing exactly when you need to talk and when you need to be distracted
it's not unusual that after a bad day, he just joins you on the couch, plopping down and pulling your feet onto his lap
it either leads to you venting and him listening
usually giving very appropriate responses of either huffs, scowls or downright glowering
or, if you don't want to talk
he either lets you use him as a human pillow, grumbling over your choice of movie while scratching your head
or he takes you out
to the cinema, a museum, the theater
you're pretty sure you've grown a lot more cultured in a few months than the whole of your life before that
it never gets boring tho
the whole thing kinda annoys the crap out of you in the beginning bc he never lets you pay for anything
but you get better at finding ways to pay him back in other ways
like taking over making dinner on days when he's exhausted
coaxing rants out of him when his father gets to him
dragging him out on nightly walks through the city when he can't sleep
and after a while
you understand that it's just one of Rhys' love languages
and it is fun to spend his father's money ;)
especially when it means museum saturdays with the two of you just sitting and staring at paintings
or going to the cinema and pigging out on popcorn and greasy stuff while whisper hissing facts at each other
even takes you to stuff like wine tastings
Rhys is a foodie
likes super fancy pickles, trying food you can't even pronounce and splurging on dinner
and if he decides the two of you need to get out of the apartment
one way or another
it usually ends in a restaurant
always orders like half the menu
also cooks the best out of all of you
like I'm talking freaking perfection
whips up the fanciest, most delicious far-too-many-courses meal for holidays
and goes all in even if he just makes dinner
you often get lured into the kitchen by the delicious smells
usually ends up with you on the couch at the table while Rhys moves around the kitchen
talking about everything and nothing
(also not above slapping anyone's hand away if they try to sneak a taste)
Azriel is quiet
not shy; you catch onto that pretty quickly
he's too quick and easy on any dry remark in response to his friends' boisterous teasing for that
and his gaze too firm and piercing
rarely shies away when you catch his gaze
in the beginning
that intimidated the shit out of you
the way he appears without a sound, towering over you, all dark and quiet and brooding
it's like he perfected the art of going unnoticed
tho you're not quite sure how
bc how could anyone not notice him?
after a while tho
you realise that even tho Azriel is dark and glowering and brooding
there's something gentle about him
it surfaces in the smallest things
like how his lips curve the softest bit when you grin up at him
how light and careful his touch is
how he is always respectful, putting himself between you and the street, holding doors open without ever seeming to think twice about it
and how everything about him seems to darken when he witnesses anyone being treated poorly
but even if anger rages within him like a rising tide, quiet and dangerous
you still always feel safe with him
maybe it's bc, even in those moments, you just know it will never be directed at you
and that even tho there's always that darkness within him, it's never something that feels unsettling or dangerous
and instead soft and welcoming
like something about him and that steady, dark gaze just calms you
maybe because he's so quiet, Azriel seems to see and hear everything
in record time, he begins to catch onto every little detail about you
mundane things
like how you like your favorite drink or what your favorite ice cream is
the only reason you know he notices is because he begins to hand you cups in the morning that are exactly right and the freezer starts to always hold a big container of your favorite ice cream
but also seems to know exactly what your tell is when you're nervous
uncomfortable
or tired
what makes you upset
happy
nervous
what causes you to giggle uncontrollably
and so on
it should probably unsettle you, how easily he sees through you
but it doesn't
sure, it's a bit weird at first
but you quickly realise it's strangely comforting - that someone pays enough attention to know even the smallest thing about you
is your favorite person to be around when you just need a break
it's like something about him is grounding, steady to you
like being around him makes your thoughts calm down
makes it easier for you to sort the chaos your mind sometimes becomes
beneath all of the quiet watchfulness lies a wicked, dry sense of humor
his mumbled remarks make you snort laughter or beam widely up at him
always makes his lips curve
reads a ton
when you first see his room, you almost gape
because the guy has books
they fill the shelves
balance in towers on the floor
sit on the window sill and next to his bed
most of the books in the shelves in the living room are his as well
has a great dislike for movie adaptions
sits there with that scowl of his, glaring at you until it's over when you make him watch one
says it destroys the pictures in his head
(to be fair
you don't think he's entirely wrong about that)
always has a camera in reach
got a few, all older ones; no fancy digital ones, but all on film
just like he seems to catch onto everything
so does his camera
it's like the manifestation of his quiet perception of things
to fix things onto film
captures everything
most of the time, you don't even notice
only sometimes you raise your head to find the camera in his hands, a slight curve to his lips
develops all pictures himself, in a dark room on campus students can book
spends hours in there, just working in silence
there's usually a lot of bugging involved before he shows the developed pictures to anyone
usually ends in all of you leaning over them eagerly, trying to figure out when he took them
Rhys standing in the kitchen, grinning over his shoulder like Cassian just made a bad joke
you and Feyre, laughing so hard you lean into each other
Mor, lying upside down on the couch while focusing on the cards in her hand while you're next to her, mid-motion, a focused expression on your face
Cassian napping on the couch, twisted in a very uncomfortable position to fit all six feet something of him onto the cushions
there seems to be an endless number, and they're all carefully stored away in his shelves
some, he refuses to show to anyone
it takes you so little time to feel at home in the huge flat, the prospect of looking for an apartment for yourself is off the table before you can actually start
and it doesn't take long until you're part of the routines like you'd been there since the beginning
Saturday and Sunday evenings are for movie nights
sometimes, Mor joins you
you sit with Azriel on the couch, sharing a big bowl of popcorn while staring at Rhys and Cassian argue about which Star Wars movie to start with
in the summer, you take trips to the lake for swims
have game nights
and evenings sitting on the balcony, squinting into the setting sun
barbecues
afternoons in the park, one joining in after the other
in winter, you go to the ice rink
bake together
and spend whole weekends on the couch, watching movies
you go to the gym with Cassian or accompany him on his runs
(well, he's running - you're on your bicycle, because there's no way you can keep up with that dude´s long legs)
get dragged out onto hikes by Rhys
in the evenings, you usually all end up in the kitchen for dinner, banter thrown over the dinner table
Azriel and you mostly take care of the grocery shopping together
it usually entails you trying to reach something on a high shelf and Azriel huffing, moving to grab it without even having to stretch
sometimes Cassian joins in, and you both make it your mission to annoy Azriel until he laughs
both Az and Rhys regularly give you rides on their motorcycles
while Cassian likes to stick to his old, beat up truck, Rhys has a car as well, but alternates between it and the motorcycle
more often than not, he uses it as opportunity to flirt
small cleaning duties in the apartment are rotated between the four of you
but big-once-a-month-deep-cleans are something you make a day of
blasting music, you divide the flat and get to work
(bathroom duty is rotated)
in the (very rare) case of an argument, it usually ends in one of you being mediator
which means after a cooling off period
the arguing parties are locked in the pantry until they've talked things out
works surprisingly well
sometimes, the boys bring someone home
it usually comes with a text
or the very oldschool sock on the door
tho you ban that one after Cassian forgets it
and you walk into the flat unsuspectingly only to be flashed
Cassian apologizes profoundly
after he's done laughing
there are also a few awkward encounters in the hall in the morning that leave you contemplating not running around in just big t-shirts
Feyre still gives you rides to campus and back
but sometimes, it's Azriel waiting in the parking lot instead, leaned against his motorcycle, two helmets next to him
it does not help with the way your heart seems to speed up whenever you find his amber eyes on you.
but you're very adamant on pushing that away
it's probably not that serious anyway.
so
it would be wrong to say your life was boring before you met the three idiots you now call your roomates
but it sure as hell is a lot better now that you have
even if they do drive you a little nuts sometimes

Tumblr media
"oh, you're gonna ruin your appetite... here, have some of my lunch." he offers sweetly, pushing over rectangular tupperware... it was heavenly compared to your cookie dough given to you by your other co-worker - who quickly fled after he sat with you. he was always doting on you like this, it was hard not to catch feelings... and obviously, noticing that he was only like this with you made you feel special. but... after months too long of this crushing, it was enough, you decide. trying to seperate yourself from him - boxing up little post-its about him in an old shoebox... this is good. This is healthy. on the road to unliking someone... it will take forever. First step is to act standoffish and aloof, you think...
mother... not referred to as mother, but still mother. of course, he develops feelings at the wrong time, right? after you decide that youre suddenly done with him? it's easy to see you trying to detach yourself from your acquaintance-ship... he doesnt like that. beforehand, he was finding out everything about you. accidentally falling in too deep... going as far as taking it upon himself to let himself into your home to rifle through things - just to make sure your fridge is stocked... and instead; finding those little love notes that seemed to match his appearance and his personality perfectly. he didnt want to call himself delusional - it was a little too coincidental right?? theres no way he could be delusional... you're just so cute... unable to contain his excitement as you finally enter after fumbling with your keys at your door - yelping in surprise when you see him, your superior sitting on your couch of your tiny little apartment - "y-you-! what the hell are you-?"
"Fret not..." he was quick to stand - trying to ease you as you stepped back and nearly out the door before he was reaching over and dragging you inside - "i... have something to confess... i'm so very in love with you, i cannot hold it inside no longer." he murmurs breathlessly, his face taking on a darker tinge - telling you how truthful and embarrassed he was; standing in front of you after trespassing...
ㅡ"w-well, your timing is awful-!?" you were still too hopped up on adrenaline, the door slamming behind you and fiddling with your keys inbetween your fingers and making a strong fist just in case-! "i-i'm already... over my feelings for you, it's too late for anything-!"
"i'm sure it wasn't too long ago that you lost feelings, right?" he questions delicately, with an equal cadence of delicate; brushing his free hand, his dainty fingertips underneath your eye, "i'm sure you'll be in love with me just as you were in no time." he was making fun of you in his own way - no person could get over their love interest that easily, and he was going to exploit your love for him - can't you see? can't you feel? he's your boyfriend already. "and of course... you were in love with me, and it's not easy to just... unlove someone... i think you're just shy." it dons on him, that of course - yes, that must be it. his darlings' crush - his object of affection suddenly confessing his feelings to him... ur just shy is all,,,,
you shake your head in denial, feeling sick to your stomach. urgh.. your coworker who you recently barely got over in your apartment-? confessing his love-? "f-fuck noㅡ" you raise your key-shank fist... preparing to defend yourself, obviously, you were under the influence of something right? you wouldnt be acting like this unless it was so...
ㅡ"nah-ah.." he hums, so easily subduing you and pressing you against the wall - dragging you into the darkness of your hallway and he stares at your struggling form before he was pressing his lips against yours - an open mouth kiss, where his tongue was shoving something in your mouthㅡpulling your head away and immediately spitting it up - him, shoving his fingers in your mouth and you couldn't do anything but gag and swallow. that little pill... down your throat,,,,
ㅡ"... it's working so fast... ah, i'm so excited." he murmurs, smiling widely and nuzzling his nose into your cheek - ignoring your soft grumbles and taking immense joy in your weakening body and hardening cock -
"you're so pretty, look at you..." he coos, nuzzling his ignoring your soft grunts and very obvious attempts to get away - but your flustered expression catches his eye, grinning so wildly as buries his face in your neck,,,. "and look at that - you obviously like this... it's okay, i'll let you get used to me..." he murmurs so kindlyㅡfuck, it was hard not to tremble at the tone of his voice - so gentle and loving as he slowly rocks into your body, slowly; languidly as not to rip anything after fingerfucking you with a little packet of lube and precum. a soft involuntary mewl of "motherr..." leaving your saliva glossed lips - stupid and only thinking of your pleasure - his hands gripping your hips as you were reaching downward just to jerk yourself off,,, feeling such an intense amount of emotions - so hot, sweaty, while being fucked into by your ex crush of a coworker... ,,,,

Please Please Please: Chapter 1
Summary: Y/N is only a child when she and Tommy Shelby meet. The two quickly become best friends as they grow up in Small Heath. As the years go by, Y/N and Tommy realize there may be more to their friendship than they originally thought.
Pairing: Tommy Shelby x Y/N
A/N: Hi everybody! This Peaky Blinders fic is a SLOW BURN ROMANCE and will start off quite fluffy! Let me know what you all think and if you would like to see more.
She knew exactly which day it was when she first met him. She wouldn't forget it for the rest of her life. It was the spring of 1898, and her family had just moved to Small Heath. Her father had grown up there, and she remembered hearing stories from his boyhood, calling it "Magical Small Heath." She was ecstatic to go to such a place. It sounded like a dream come true.
But she was mistaken.
The rancid smell of the town seeped into every aspect of life there. The colors were dreary, the weather was raw, and the people seemed indifferent to everything. To top it off, the house she called home had maybe four rooms in total: her bedroom, her parents' room, the kitchen, and the bathroom. It couldn’t even be compared to her family’s old home in the country. During her first month in Small Heath, she often found herself staring out of her shoebox-sized bedroom window, yearning for some semblance of familiarity.
"You can't stay in your room all day," her father would say, standing at the doorway.
"I can try," she would mutter back, tracing the condensation on the window pane.
"I bet you can," he muttered under his breath as he turned to leave. He stopped abruptly and looked back. "The least you can do is meet the neighborhood kids. Don't turn your nose up at everyone just yet." All she could manage was an eye roll before her father left her to her own devices. She continued to gaze out the window, imagining herself somewhere else amidst the gray roads of Small Heath.
As day turned into night, she felt herself starting to drift off. Her eyes fluttered as her chin rested in her hand. Just as darkness began to envelop her, she heard a loud bang. Her eyes shot open, expecting to see a bullet hole in her window. Instead, all she saw was a ball lying in the garden below. It hadn't been there before, but now it found its place in the grass. She focused her eyes on the ball for a moment, and that's when she saw him.
He couldn't have been much older than her, maybe eight or nine years old. He leaned down and picked up the ball, rolling it over in his fingers before looking up at her. His eyes were the most colorful thing she had seen in Small Heath, like a sea of warmth amidst the coldness. She couldn't help but smile at him, and he returned a small grin. Then, he jogged off into the streets of Small Heath. She knew she had to say hello.
Her father was pleased to find an empty room the following day as he walked by her doorway. She didn't know where to find the boy, but she knew she had to search for him. She scoured the streets until her stomach rumbled, indicating it was lunchtime. With a sigh of defeat, she made her way back home. As she approached the front steps, ready for lunch, she heard a noise that stopped her in her tracks.
"Oy!" she halted and turned back to see a familiar pair of blue eyes. It was him.
"Hello," she said, feeling a blush creeping onto her cheeks.
He held up the familiar-looking ball. "We need another player," he raised an eyebrow. "Wanna join?" All she could do was smile and nod. He returned her smile and motioned for her to follow him. She gladly obliged.
Walking by his side, they made their way down an alley. She couldn't help but notice how his clothes hung heavily on his thin limbs. If his shoes weren't so big, his pant legs might have dragged on the ground. His cheekbones seemed more pronounced than those of a child his age. She knew she couldn't be the only hungry child in Small Heath.
"I've never seen you before," he said, tracing the seams of the ball with his forefinger.
"My family is new to town," she said, feeling compelled to share more. He grunted in response as she started to hear the voices of other young boys.
"Then welcome to Small Heath. I'm Tommy," he paused, holding out his hand. It seemed unusual for such a young boy to introduce himself in such a mature way, but she sensed that he must not lead a typical life.
"Nice to meet you, Tommy. I'm Y/N," she hesitated before adding, "I hope we can be friends." His lips curved into a smile. She wished she could capture that moment in a photograph and live within it. This was the day she made her first best friend.
As the two children ventured farther down the road, Y/N finally distinguished voices. They approached closer until she could put a voice to a face. The voice that rose above all the others belonged to a boy who appeared a little rougher than the rest.
"It's my fucking turn," he said, emphasizing the final syllable of the curse word. Her eyes widened in surprise. In her seven years of life, she had never heard such language. She looked over at Tommy for a reaction, but all she saw was a smirk.
"Oy, Arthur, it doesn't matter," the angry boy turned toward Y/N and her new friend, "because it is Y/N's turn." Her eyebrows inched up slightly. She had never played baseball before. She always saw it as something boys did while girls played "house" off to the side.
"It is?" Y/N questioned.
"She's gonna mess up all the teams," Arthur moaned, waving an arm toward the five other boys behind him.
"Then we'll start a new game," Tommy said, sounding determined. She knew Tommy was younger than Arthur, but the older boy seemed to respect him.
"Fine," Arthur mumbled, "but she's on your team."
"Of course, brother," Tommy said. They were brothers. Even more unusual, she thought, as the two boys went to the pitcher's mound to discuss teams. Before she knew it, Y/N found herself holding a bat, waiting for a ball to come flying towards her.
"What do I do?" she whispered to Tommy, who stood a few paces behind her. He chuckled to himself.
"Hit it and run like hell," he replied. She nodded hesitantly before turning to face Arthur. He made eye contact with her and tossed the ball in her direction. Instinctively, she flinched away.
"Strike one!" yelled the catcher. She knew flinching like that was the wrong move. She looked over at Tommy, who masked his disappointment by gazing up at the sky. She knew she had to hit the ball. She raised the bat higher as another ball flew toward her. This time, she kept her eyes open as she took a swing.
"Strike two!" the boy yelled again. She could hear the grimace in his voice. Resigning herself to the idea that baseball may not be her game, she heard her name being whispered loudly. She turned her head to see Tommy.
"Hold the bat like this," he said, mimicking holding it horizontally in front of him. "Don't swing, just hold it out." She nodded and made eye contact with the pitcher. She was determined now. When the ball came hurtling in her direction again, she held out the bat. When she heard the light tap of the ball barely grazing the bat, she knew she wasn't out. She smiled to herself and then over at Tommy. He looked at her wide-eyed before yelling, "Run!"
She sprinted like lightning to first base, and before she knew it, she was safe. She had officially played baseball and had made her mark on the game. She felt victorious in her own way. As she basked in her moment of triumph, Tommy took his turn at the plate. Too caught up in her own accomplishment, she didn't hear the bat make contact with the ball. She also didn't look up in time to notice the ball whizzing right at her. It wasn't until the hard ball struck her gut that she realized Tommy had hit it. She clutched her middle, crumbled to the ground, and let out a scream. Rolling onto her side, she held herself in a fetal position, trying to find some comfort, but the pain was too intense. Tears began to stream down her face.
Between the sobs, she finally noticed Tommy kneeling beside her. "Are you okay?" he asked. No, she was not. He knew that, just as well as she did. The pain was one thing, but the embarrassment in front of her new friend was unbearable.
"I should go home," she mumbled, wiping away a tear.
"Are you sure you want—"
"Yes," she spat. With that, she forced herself up and trudged home. She refused to look back at the boy she had hoped would be her friend. How could he be friends with her now? With the crybaby who didn't know the first thing about a friendly neighborhood game of baseball? She lay face down on her bed as soon as she arrived home, vowing to remain there for the rest of her existence. This was her life now—a loner with no friends.
She couldn't have been there for more than ten minutes when she heard a knock at the door. She heard her mother open it and footsteps approaching her room.
"Y/N," her mother said as the door creaked open, "you have a guest." She rolled her head to see Tommy standing in her room.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, as her mother shut the door behind Tommy.
"I wanted to see if you were okay," he said, stepping further into the room. "Getting hit like that hurts."
"It did," she said. "It hurt like hell." She heard a chuckle from Tommy.
"I can imagine," he said, dropping onto the floor beside her bed. Y/N rolled over, staring at the ceiling as a beat passed.
"I understand if you don't want to play with me anymore. No one wants to play with a crybaby," she kept her eyes fixed on the ceiling, not wanting to see Tommy's rejection.
"Why would you say that?"
"Because," she felt her fingers tense with anxiety, "they ruin the games and then run home to their mommies. How can that be any fun?"
"You actually sound a lot like Arthur right now," she could hear the humor in Tommy's voice, but she didn't want to look at his face just yet. "Maybe we can play a different game then." This statement shocked her. Now she looked down at him to see him gazing up at her.
"You still want to play with me?" she asked, a glimmer of hope in her voice.
He smiled and sighed. "I don't know," he said, fiddling with his fingers and averting his gaze. "I guess I do."
The moment she gave him a small smile, Tommy knew he was forgiven.
"We can ride horses next time in the fields outside town," she felt her eyes widen at his suggestion.
"You have horses?" giddiness bubbled in her stomach.
"No," he smirked to himself, "but I know where we can find some."
That day, Y/N knew she had met her best friend. Tommy, though, knew he had met his soulmate.

Hiii can you please revive my dearest lovely human husband x monster reader?? I had a thought that maybe while Evan was working, monster reader decided “mmm my husband deserves a nice fresh catch for dinner” and dips???? I wanna see angsty insanity LMAO
Coming back home dragging a mountain lion or something, so innocent so sweet I love monster reader
Your alarm goes off.
Roused from slumber, you wipe drool from your chin as you strech; hunger hitting you in the same vein as consciousness. You check the clock for the time. 1pm. Lunch time.
You climb off the couch, getting out those last few nicks from the uncomfortable position. Your husband would scold you for such, but what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him. You scurry into the kitchen, ripping the refrigerator doors open to retrieve your food. Containers for the next few days fill the compartment, separated by color coordination and times written in bold cursive. You grab the one for the current time and place it in the microwave; your stomach twisting pain from the thought of your upcoming meal alone as it starts to heat up. Roasted meat and a floral soup. That man spoiled you.
You take your spot at the table and flip through the notebook placed on it for your note of the hour.1
"Hey, Precious! Today's main course is leftovers, but I hope the soup makes up for it. I added some cauliflower because you need to eat more veggies when you're able. Love you, make sure the doors are locked and you're taking care of yourself. I'll be home by nine today because I wanted to get a little overtime in before our vacation, but I'll make it up to you this weekend."
You close the book, looking down at the band around your fourth finger. Your stomach still howls, but a different feeling takes over as you twist it around. Evan really did spoil you. Even before you became his spouse he made sure you had a proper home and were always fed. You went from eating every other week, to three meals a day plus snacks. It was small at first. You lived in a shoebox apartment and could only go out at night, but now you lived in a nice big home and the world is your oyster. There had to be something you could do in return.
Cleaning up the house and taking care of shopping was one thing, but they paled in comparison to everything he's done in your six years of partnership. Taking the first bite of your food, the idea hits you. You'll make him dinner! Not with the store brought stuff, but with meat you caught with your own two hands. He'll surely love it and it'll be the perfect start to your long week together on vacation.
You finish your meal quickly, making your escape through the backyard to avoid the public eye.
-
"One.. Two.. Three.. Okay."
Evan unlocks the last lock on your front door with a sigh of relief. You had to be careful even in the best of neighborhoods. He pushes the door - but it doesn't open all the way, blocked by a chain.
"That's still in? Normally they unlock it before I get here." He mutters to himself, raising his voice as he shouts. "Sweetie? You up? Can you open the door?"
No answer. You must be dreaming good then. Evan wedges his hand through the door and undoes the chain himself. He doesn't even take off his coat when he enters, gunning straight for your location. Seeing the couch empty raises a few flags. He told you not to sleep there, but it was always a new opportunity for another lockscreen photo.
"Muffin?" Evan ascends the stairs, gently knocking on the walls in hopes to stir you from your slumber before he reaches the bedroom. The cold steel of the knob only increases his worries which sky rocket as he opens the door; the room completely void of life.
"Y/n?.. H-honey?" The pet name comes out in a quiver. He tears the pillows and blankets from the bed as if you were hiding inside. His rain of destruction rings through the entire house as he tears it apart in search for you. He's hyperventilating by the time he reaches the kitchen, fat tears rolling down his face. He sees your dishes left on the table and his fears take over. He tries to catch his breath through his sobs, pulling at his hair and patting his face.
"Calm down. Calm down. Y/n hasn't been taken from you. They haven't left you. They're probably just, fuck-... taking a walk! Y-yeah, they're on a walk. I'll call them, and they'll hurry back as soon as they can."
Evan pulls out his phone and does what he should've when he first noticed your disappearance. There's no answer, but ever so faintly, he can hear a familiar ring. He calls again, stepping towards the backdoor. He's reluctant to open the door as your failure to answer can't mean anything good, but a soft shuffling has him damn near tearing it off its hinges. He rushes outside-
"Baby?"
Eyes reflecting the golden moonlight stare back at him. Body riddled in scrapes and bites, you hold a mountain lion by its neck in your human teeth; your lower mouth still dripping with the saliva that brought the beast to its end. You drop your catch with a look of disappointment.
"I didn't even get it in the oven before you came back...."
"Y/n!" Evan runs over and picks you up with all the strength his workouts have given him; the sting of your flowing blood null against his trained body. He kisses up a storm over your face, making sure to give both mouths at least a dozen kisses before he places you down to look at the severity of your injuries.
"Dove, look at these wounds! You could've gotten yourself killed!"
You lick the scratch closes to your shoulder, closing it with your spit. "Wanted to surprise you with dinner... So I didn't feel like I'm taking you for granted."
Tears of happiness replace those of sorrow. "Oh, sweetheart- you could never take me for granted, because I could never physically express how much you mean to me. You're my everything. I love you so damn much."
You purr as he kisses your wet cheek. "I love you too."
Evan takes your hand, the grass around his feet dyed red. He laughs. "I really appreciate your hunt - but let's just order takeout for tonight."

anyways highschool au where they dissect frogs in class evan wordlessly scalpels out its heart first despite instructions and nudges it over to barty on a little glass plate IF YOU EVEN CARE
!! I CARE SM!!! this is the cutest hc and i’ve been brainrotting about this ask ever since you sent it like i genuinely am possessed..i feel sick
you’ve got me imagining this whole high school au with every cliché. pure twee teenage suburban melancholia where the rosier twins have a treehouse in their backyard and double-knot the laces of their converse and get the cuffs of their jeans soggy sitting in the wet grass on the football field and lily makes homecoming court and barty&regulus skip every school dance to eat mcdonald’s in formal wear and they sit under the bleachers w scraped knees and drop a lit cigarette between their forearms just to see who’ll pull away first
evan who was homeschooled and lives with his grandparents and only wears old baggy clothes from goodwill. he doesn’t talk much. people call him weird but he never eats lunch alone because he has a sister. pandora doesn’t mind being ostracized and puts unlit incense sticks in her buns and throws shoebox funerals for roadkill and squeezes her brothers hand under their homeroom desk
evan who doesn’t mind either but sometimes he imagines what having friends would be like. he writes down things he would say to them in his spiral bound notebooks instead of paying attention in calculus
barty who is self-explanatory. barty who is exactly what you’d expect. barty who sits next to evan in chemistry class with their knees knocking together under the desk. barty who draws tic-tac-toe on evan’s notebooks and always lets him win. who picks out the gory titles for him in blockbuster video and laughs at his jokes and who isn’t his friend, not exactly, but something close. barty his lab partner. barty who lets him borrow his jacket and who throws rocks at his window and who meets him in his treehouse in the middle of the night. Being Eddie’s girl was better than you could have ever hoped it could be. Finally, you could kiss him and hold him, just as you had dreamed of for so long. It really was a dream come true.
You told the crew at Hellfire the day after you became official, and you had a few words with Dustin. “If you knew the whole time, why would you pretend like you wanted to know?” you asked.
“I didn’t give him the idea,” Dustin quickly defended himself. “I mentioned something about anonymous love letters, and he must have taken it from there.”
“That’s literally you giving him the idea,” you argued. “You’re infuriating. Anyway, it was Eddie; surprise.”
True to his word, Eddie continued leaving you little love notes in your locker, only now they were written with his proper hand, and he signed his name every time. The shoebox full of letters under your bed grew more and more full, and you adored every second of being Eddie’s.
He was so proud to have you as his girlfriend, and he showed you all the time. His arm was always around your shoulders or your waist, he pressed kisses to your face all the time, he would give you his jacket if you were cold or let you have the last bit of his lunch if you were hungry. He called you a litany of precious names, sweetheart or princess or baby, sometimes choosing “my girl”; every name made you grin.
Eddie had snuck into your bedroom a few times after the first night, but he had kept his word, and he never fucked you. You did try to beg him to, but he was steadfast, not wanting to take your virginity before the right time. Whenever you asked when the right time was, he always shook his head. “I don’t know,” he admitted. “But it’s not now, baby. I’ll know it when I see it.”
A month passed together, then another, and soon it was time for graduation. Eddie had managed to finally pass Ms. O’Donnell’s class, and you had been the first he had told the good news to, picking you up and spinning you around. “‘86, baby!” he exclaimed. “My year! What’d I tell you?”
“What’s going on?” you asked. “Eddie, what—”
“I’m graduating!” He exclaimed. “I passed O’Donnell’s final, I’m gonna graduate!”
“Oh my God!” you cried. “Eddie, I’m so proud of you! Oh, baby…” You clutched his face and kissed him deeply, and he held you close as he kissed you back. “But don’t actually flip off Principal Higgins, please. I don’t want you getting in more trouble.”
The day of graduation came, and you pinned your cap to your head as you looked in the mirror in your bedroom. Eddie had come over to get ready for graduation, and he was laying on your bed as he watched you get ready. He was dressed nicely, maybe for the first time in his life, a buttoned shirt and khakis, although he still wore his dirty white Reeboks, but he was still as handsome as ever. “Alright,” you said, deciding your cap was secured. “Come on over, it’s your turn.”
“You come over here,” Eddie smiled. “I’m too comfy on your bed.”
You rolled your eyes jokingly, and you got up from your place at your vanity and carried over a handful of bobby pins to where Eddie was sat, and you smoothed down his frizzy curls as you settled his cap on top of his head. “I’m really proud of you,” you told him, and you opened a bobby pin with your teeth before securing his cap to his hair with it. “You kicked ‘86’s ass.”
“Thank you,” Eddie said with a smile. “It means a lot that we get to graduate together.”
You pouted out your lip at his sweetness, and he quickly swooped in and kissed your pouted lip. “You’re cheesy,” you told him, and he just laughed.
“Well, it’s true,” Eddie told you. “I’m happy to be graduating at all, but especially with you at my side. I love you, princess.”
You knew that Eddie loved you, and he had told you so since before you knew it was him telling you, but hearing him say it was special every time. He said it frequently, but every time felt like the first time. Your heart flipped and your chest warmed, and you hid a smile as you settled another bobby pin in his hair, getting the cap down more securely. He mumbled out an “ow”, and you finally let your smile show. “Sorry,” you told him. “You’re so cute.”
“When? Just now? When I said ‘ow’ because you’re sticking pins in my head?” Eddie asked, and you nodded.
“I love you, you goof,” you told him, and Eddie smiled.
“C’mon, we don’t wanna be late,” Eddie said, standing up quickly, and he grabbed you by your waist and pressed his hand to the small of your back to kiss you quickly. The brims of your caps knocked together as he kissed you, and you giggled.
“Wait,” you started. “Your cap’s not on right—”
“As if I’m keeping this on the whole time.”
Eddie had been right; he had taken the cap off almost the exact moment he was allowed to, after he crossed that stage and got his diploma. Tears were in your eyes as you watched him, donned in the green cap and gown, his hair fluffy at his shoulders as he shook Principal Higgins’ hand and accepted the diploma, and you covered your mouth with a laugh as, just before he stepped off the stage, he flipped a quick middle finger in the older man’s direction.
The crowd had a mixed reaction— the parents gasped and the students all laughed— and Eddie was grinning like a fool when he got back to his seat. He was a few rows in front of you, and he turned to you and gave you an enthusiastic thumbs-up that made your heart warm. You sent him one back, and Eddie looked down at the diploma in his lap with a grin. You could tell that he was proud of himself as much as you were.
Eddie found you after the ceremony ended, hugging you tightly. “Babe, babe, look,” he said, bouncing excitedly. He opened the little folder that the diploma was in, and he grinned at his name written there in fancy fake cursive. “Edward Munson, high school graduate.”
“Oh, Eddie,” you cooed and hugged him, tucking your head into his neck. “I’m so fucking proud of you, baby.”
“And you!” Eddie exclaimed. Your diploma looked exactly like his, only with your name written in that awful cursive, and Eddie kissed you quickly. “You graduated the first time! My smart girl.”
“What’s that saying, third times the charm?” you said, and Eddie’s grin grew. “C’mon, let’s go home.”
“Wait, baby, wait,” Eddie said quickly, and he tugged you close, hugging you again. His mouth nestled right up against your ear, and he whispered, “I wanna take you to dinner tonight. Just you and me.”
“Okay,” you nodded. “I’d like that.”
“Baby, did you hear me?” Eddie asked. His eyes went all big as he pulled out from your ear, and he repeated himself. “Dinner, tonight. Just you and me.”
“Oh!” you gasped as you understood what he meant. Your heart flipped in your chest and you couldn’t help but giggle at the insinuation. You had nearly forgotten his promise to take you to dinner before he fucked you, and your heart raced in your chest at the reminder of it. “O-Okay. Are you sure?”
“I’m sure,” Eddie said softly.
“M-Maybe we could skip dinner,” you suggested, your fingers knotting in your honor society cord. You couldn’t bear to look Eddie in the eye as you suggested it, and you focused on his silly white trainers, as you muttered, “Go straight to dessert, y’know what I mean?”
“I do,” Eddie told you. “Are you gonna be able to come to my place tonight for dessert? Wayne’s working tonight, and I want you to be able to really enjoy dessert, without worrying if your parents will hear.”
“Yeah, I can do that,” you said, and your heart melted at his sweetness. “You’re so good to me.”
“I’m just doing what a boyfriend oughta do,” Eddie shrugged.
“Well,” you told him, and you leaned close to him to swipe a kiss on his cheek. “You’re a very good boyfriend, Ed.”
Tumblr media
You had been to Eddie’s trailer a few times before, mostly just to help him study. There had been the one time where his hand had managed to snake up your skirt as you tried to help him study for biology, but, other than that, the trailer was new territory for you. You liked the energy of it, small and comfortable and homely, but Eddie seemed almost nervous to bring you there.
“This is it,” he said, sealing his hands together in front of his body. “Um, bathroom’s that way if you need it… We can watch some TV or something if you want, whatever you need to… To get comfy, y’know?”
You were quick to tug Eddie close to you by his belt, and you laid a gentle kiss on his sweet lips. “I’ll be okay,” you whispered, and Eddie nodded. “Where’s your room?”
“Back here,” Eddie told you, and he took your hand in his as he led you to the furthest back room in the trailer. “It’s messy, I tried to clean it up but, like, I didn’t get very far. Got rid of all the dead cigarette butts, so hopefully it doesn’t smell too bad.”
He was right; the bedroom was just a little chaotic, magazines and various junk scattered over every surface. His ashtray next to his bed was empty, though, even if it didn’t do much to alleviate the smell of cigarettes. But you didn’t care too much, because it was all Eddie. He had seen your bedroom, the only place in the world that was really yours, and now you had seen his. You quickly sat down in his unmade bed, hearing the old springs squeak underneath you, and you gathered your pillow in your arms as you settled yourself on your back.
“Making yourself at home,” Eddie chuckled. “I like it. You look so good like that.”
“Like what?” you asked, and Eddie tugged the pillow from your grip before he climbed onto the bed, resting over you with his elbows by your head.
“In my bed,” Eddie told you, and he swooped down to kiss your lips. You giggled softly as you kissed him back, and you threw your arms around his neck and pulled him closer. “Lookin’ all cute and comfy. You look like you belong here.”
“Do I?” you asked, and Eddie kissed you again.
“Of course you do, princess,” Eddie replied. “There’s nowhere else I’d rather see you.”
His curls tickled your face as he kissed you, and you couldn’t help but grin into his kiss. Eddie never failed to make you feel like a true princess, and you loved him for it. It was bursting in your chest to tell him, and you gently bit his bottom lip. “I love you,” you whispered, and Eddie shared your smile.
“God, I love hearing you say that,” Eddie whispered, and his kiss moved from your mouth to settle into your neck. His lips were gentle as he sucked at your neck, and you didn’t even think to chastise him for leaving a mark. You knew that, later, you’d have to lie to your parents and explain away the mark as a burn from your curling iron, but, for now, you enjoyed Eddie’s sweet lips on your neck.
“Taste so good,” Eddie mumbled into your neck, and his teeth caught your skin, earning him a quick yelp. “Sound good too.”
“Eddie,” you whimpered, your fingers tangling in his dark curls. You loved his hair, you always had, and you tugged slightly to get him to lift his face from your neck. All that did, however, was make Eddie moan against the damp patch on your skin.
“I’m gonna fuck you so nice,” Eddie whispered. “Make it worth your time, baby, I promise.”
“You always do,” you told him. “M-Make my time worth it, I mean. Like, I love whenever I’m with you, I hate being away from you—”
“You’re blabbering,” Eddie told you, and he laid one last kiss on your neck. “It’s cute, though.”
His skilled hands lightly touched your waist, tangling in the waistband on your skirt, and he kissed your mouth again as he carefully undressed you. Eddie was being so gentle with you, something that he typically did, but it felt more special this time. Something about knowing that you were gonna go all the way with Eddie was igniting a fire in your belly, and your hands hurried to undress him too.
“I love you,” you told him as you shucked off his nice buttoned shirt, and you were quick to touch every tattoo he had, kissing the ones on his chest and lifting his arm to your mouth to kiss at his puppet master tattoo. Eddie sighed, almost a moan, and he watched you with big, greedy eyes as your hands fell down to his belt.
“C’mere,” he mumbled, and he used his strength to turn you over so that he was underneath you, his hips slotted perfectly between your thighs.  He settled himself up against the wall and watched you for a moment as you adjusted your weight, and he pushed his hair behind his ear as his own hands went to unbutton your shirt.
You had done these motions countless times with Eddie, kissing and undressing, but something about this specific moment made you grab at Eddie’s wrist to stop him. “Wait,” you said softly. “I-I’m nervous.”
“Oh, princess,” Eddie whispered gently, and his hands instantly left your shirt. “Do you not wanna do this? We don’t have to.”
“No, no, I want to,” you said. “I’m just nervous.”
“Alright,” Eddie said, and his hands gently touched your hips. “What’re you nervous about?”
“I don’t know,” you admitted. “Just that… I don’t know. Like, you won’t like me as much afterwards or something, that it’ll hurt, just dumb little things.” You picked at a thread on your skirt as you mumbled out your words, and Eddie was quick to capture your hands in his.
“I’ll make sure it won’t hurt,” Eddie told you. “I’m gonna prep you really good, it won’t hurt, I promise. And as for me liking you less, that’ll never happen. You are stunning, and you’re funny, and you’re smart and kind, nothing is going to change. In fact, I’m gonna love you even more. Okay?” You nodded, taking a deep and steadying breath, and Eddie gave you a crooked smile. “Good, good… Can I kiss you again?”
You nodded quickly, your anxiety at least partly alleviated, and Eddie moved forward and sealed your lips again. This time, his kiss was hungry, his tongue prodding at your lips as you wiggled in his lap, and he groaned softly against your mouth. “Fuck, baby,” he whispered. “You’re right on my dick.”
“Sorry!” you squeaked quickly, but Eddie’s hand was quick to lay flat against your back, keeping you from moving away.
“No, princess, that’s not bad,” Eddie said. “You’re just moving right on my dick and it’s getting me hard.”
“Oh,” you said softly. “Okay. Sorry.”
“What’re you apologizing for?” Eddie asked. “Keep doing it… It feels so fuckin’ good.”
While you and Eddie had experimented before, this felt new and different, knowing that you were working up to having sex. A fun tingle appeared in your belly as you rocked your hips down on him, and Eddie sighed. Between your legs, you could feel a hardness in his pants, and you bit your lip as a smile overtook your mouth. “You like that?” you whispered.
“Fuck, yes, baby,” Eddie moaned. “Feels so good, you have no idea…”
You did have an idea of it, though. Every pass of his clothed erection on your panties was a spark, and you were worried that the fire would spread too quickly to get anything meaningful done. “Eddie,” you moaned softly, and his hands cemented themselves on your waist. “Eddie, fuck me, please.”
“You don’t have to beg,” Eddie chuckled. “Although it sounds damn nice when you do.” With that, he turned you again so that you laid underneath him, and he kneeled above you as you undressed. Eddie littered kisses on your face once your shirt was up and over, and his own hands went to his pants, finally unbuttoning them and unzipping them. His cock spilled forward, held in only by his boxers, straining against the fabric, and your mouth watered.
You had never seen Eddie’s dick before. Every time he snuck into your room and pleasured you, he never worried about himself, and you could only imagine the way he tugged his cock once he was alone, and excitement filled your chest as Eddie wriggled around, getting his pants down his thighs and off. He kicked them off the side of his bed, and he delved back down to you, kissing your neck again.
“Eddie,” you moaned gently, your naked legs wrapped around his waist, and he jerked his hips up, pressing his clothed dick right against your weeping pussy. Your wetness smeared on the fabric, and the vein on Eddie’s neck stood out as he clenched his back teeth.
“Fuck, baby,” he whispered. “This is gonna be so fuckin’ good, look at how wet you are…” His fingers gently glided up your slit, collecting your slick on his fingertips, and he offered his fingers to, letting them touch your mouth. “You wanna taste yourself?”
Curiosity overtook you, and you opened your mouth to accept his fingers. The taste wasn’t anything special— really, you tasted his fingers more than you tasted your arousal— but Eddie’s reaction of flushed cheeks and quiet moans made the experience worth it. “Just like that,” Eddie mumbled, his big eyes drinking in the sight of you underneath him.
You still wore your panties, and Eddie was quick to rectify that, using his free hand to tug them down your legs and off altogether. For a moment, he paused and looked at your panties in his fist, and he pressed them to his face, taking a deep breath of them. “You smell so good,” he told you, pulling his fingers from your mouth with a pop. “Good enough to eat. Do you want me to eat your pussy, baby?”
“Please,” you whimpered, and Eddie was quick to slink down your body, kissing at your tits and belly as he passed down. Finally, his breaths hit your wet cunt, and you whined softly as you grabbed a handful of his hair.
“Good girl,” he whispered, letting his nose nudge your clit. You knew all about this, even if you had never done it before, and you took a deep breath to calm your heartbeat as a shock of electricity rocketed up into your brain. You had played with yourself before, Eddie had even done it to you, but the first swipe of his tongue on your clit was like nothing you had ever felt.
Your hips involuntarily jerked down into the bed, trying to escape the throbbing pleasure, and Eddie laughed. “Oh, you’re gonna love this,” he told you, his hands snaking up to open your thighs for him, and he went to work, licking a broad stripe up your pussy folds.
He wasn’t neat and clean about the way he ate you out. He was messy about it, spit and arousal coating his chin as he went to town on you, letting his teeth and tongue do the work to drive you closer to your release. Your back arched and you squirmed in his strong grip as he sucked hard at your clit, and those damn big eyes of his lifted up to look at you through his eyelashes.
“Fuck, Eddie,” you moaned, and he released your clit in favor of licking at your wetness again. “More, baby, please, more.”
Eddie pulled back from your pussy, his eyes still fixed on your face, his lips glistening with your arousal, and he worked up a mouthful of spit and quickly spat at your pussy. You shivered as you felt cover your throbbing clit and clenching hole and, somehow, as his eyes fixed on your pussy, you felt more exposed than ever before. “Aw,” Eddie cooed. “She likes being spit on, huh?”
Your head fell back with a sigh as Eddie leaned forward and continued to eat your pussy, shaking his head as he licked at your folds. Every sensation felt new and different, and his moans reverberated up your spine and into your head. You felt dizzy, and you held onto his hair for dear life as he sucked at your leaking hole. “Eddie!” you squealed, your hips bucking up into his mouth.
“Good, baby, good,” Eddie laughed. “Fuck my face, princess, just like that.”
“Need you,” you whimpered, your hips jutting up and into his mouth again. He held his tongue out and happily let you ride his face, and Eddie’s mouth clamped onto your pussy and sucked hard at you. You gave him another squeal as heat curled itself in your belly, and Eddie rubbed soothing circled on the meat of your thighs.
“How do you need me?” Eddie asked. “Tell me, baby, you want me inside you?”
“Yes!” you cried. “Please, Ed, please, I need you!”
“Aw, you said please,” Eddie chuckled, and he released from your pussy finally. You felt sticky and gross with the mix of spit and arousal that coated your skin and hair, but Eddie looked pleased with himself at the state you were in. “You’re so cute, baby. Let me get a condom, make yourself comfy up on the pillows.”
“No!” you whimpered, grabbing his wrist tightly as he rose from his place. “D-Don’t, I…”
“Don’t what, princess?” Eddie asked, and his dark eyebrows furrowed. “Don’t… Get a condom?”
You nodded, biting your lip nervously. “I mean, I-I trust you,” you said. “You don’t have to if you don’t want to. Y-You can… You can fuck me raw, if you want.” The words felt so wrong and foreign coming from your mouth, and Eddie’s face fell.
“Are you sure?” he asked. “I mean, are you on the pill or something?”
“Well, no,” you began. “But I can get a morning after pill or whatever. Right?”
“Yeah, you can,” Eddie said slowly. “Alright, baby, if you say so. But, remember, if we start and you end up wanting it, it’s really no trouble, alright? If you change your mind, I won’t be upset.”
You nodded, and Eddie finally started to tug down his boxers. You watched greedily as his cock jumped forward once released, coming up to rest against the hairy patch on his tummy, and your breath caught in your throat. His cock was beautiful, long and thick, flushed just a tinge pink, already weeping at the head of him.
Eddie moved closer to you, his hands reaching down and taking yours, and he leaned forward and swiped a kiss on your mouth. “You ready?” he asked softly, his eyes wide and full of concern.
You nodded silently, squeezing his hands, and you whispered, “I’m ready, Ed. Make love to me.”
“God, that sounds good,” Eddie laughed. One of his hands fell off of yours and went to his mouth, and he spit into his palm before rubbing his cock, smearing precum and spit all over himself. He laughed lightly and mumbled, “Ran out of lube, sorry…” and he touched the burning head of his cock to your slick hole.
“Ran out?” you repeated with a laugh.
“I jerk off a lot,” Eddie told you, his cheeks turning pink with embarrassment, and he slowly split you on his cock. The feeling was like nothing you had ever felt before; painful, yes, but so entirely beautiful and amazing. Your eyebrows furrowed and you let out a quiet sound of pain, and Eddie shushed you gently, reaching up to gently touch your cheek. “I know, baby, I know it doesn’t feel great. I’m sorry, I should’ve prepped you better…”
“No, no, you did good,” you told him. “I love it, just… Feels weird, I guess.”
“I’m sorry,” Eddie said softly. He leaned forward and kissed you as he slid further inside you, and you whimpered against his lips as the spongy head of his cock slid against that spot inside you. “I’m so sorry, baby—”
“Feels so good,” you whispered breathlessly, and Eddie stopped his own words in their tracks. “More, Eddie, please.”
“Alright,” Eddie chuckled, and he kissed you again. He slid inside you easily, the mix of spit and precum and your arousal making your hole and his cock slick, and you grabbed at his hair and tugged him into a deep kiss as he settled fully inside you, his heavy balls touching your cunt. Your pussy throbbed around him as he stilled to let you get used to the feeling, and he moaned deep into your mouth. “Fuck, squeezing me and shit… You’re so pretty, princess, I love you.”
“I love you too,” you told him, and Eddie smiled.
“Your pussy certainly loves me,” Eddie said, looking down at where your bodies met. Slowly, he rocked his hips back, withdrawing from you, and then he snapped his hips forward, burying himself inside you again, and you moaned at the feeling.
“Fuck,” you whimpered. “Eddie, please, more, please…”
“You’re cute when you beg,” Eddie told you with a smile. “I’ll give you more, sweetheart, don’t you worry.” With that, his hands came to hold your waist, and he started to fuck you. His pace was slow at first, letting you adjust to the feeling of his hard, rigged cock, and he smiled and bit his lip as you grabbed at his shoulders.
“Eddie,” you moaned. It felt like the only word you knew was his name, your eyes closing blissfully as his thrusts became faster, and your breath caught in your throat as he touched that spot inside you again. “Ed! Fuck!”
“I know, baby, I know,” Eddie whispered, and you quickly shook your head.
“Feels good,” you choked out, and you opened your eyes to see Eddie’s big grin. He looked as happy as you felt, and you smiled up at him. “Hi there, handsome.”
“Hi there, gorgeous,” Eddie told you, and his tongue poked through his lips as he focused for a brief moment on fucking you. His cock slid in and out easily, bolts of pleasure rocking your pussy and body with each thrust, and your fingernails dug into his shoulder as you moaned.
“Fuck,” you whispered. “Does sex always feel this good?”
“With the right person, yeah,” Eddie told you. His chest was flushing red as his thrusts became faster, and the bedsprings underneath you squeaked with every thrust. “You’re the best fuck I’ve ever had, I can tell you right now.”
“Really?” you asked. “How many, umm… How many girls have you fucked before me?”
Eddie sighed, and he fell onto his elbows above you, his arms wrapping tight around you. “Two,” he said. “Both of them were back when I was a senior… The first time, I mean. I…” He laughed softly. “I don’t even remember their names. Some girls from the music scene, I don’t know. I don’t know if I ever knew their names.”
“Oh, Eddie,” you whispered, your heart sinking.
“But it’s alright,” he told you. “You joined Hellfire that year, and… Baby, I fell in love with you the moment I saw you. You were so gorgeous, even back then, and I… I really fell head over heels for you. I did. And it wasn’t until now, with Dustin and the letters and everything… I never imagined I’d actually have you, and now I do. Everything’s alright now, because I have you.”
“Eddie,” you whispered. “Fuck, I love you so much.”
“I love hearing you say that,” Eddie chuckled. “I love you too, darling, you’ve got me for all eternity.”
“That’s a long time,” you giggled, lifting your hips up to meet his.
“Then, you know I’m serious,” Eddie said. “Forever and ever, princess, I’m all yours.”
It didn’t take much longer for you and Eddie to finish, that delicious heat rising and rising in your belly until you were clutching him tightly and crying his name. You were glad that Eddie had the forethought to do it at his place, because you knew that there was no way you would have been able to stay quiet enough to not arouse suspicion from your parents.
Eddie came quickly after you did, filling you up with his release, and he was quick to recover and get you his discarded shirt to clean up with. You laid in his bed as he got up from bed and stretched his arms over his head, and you admired the way his muscles flexed under his inked skin as he found clean clothes in his small closet.
“Eddie?” you started as he returned to you, and he helped you sit up and he tugged a shirt over your head for you. You grinned down at the handmade Corroded Coffin t-shirt that covered your body, and you giggled as you fought to grab your panties. “Eddie, c’mon, I’m serious, I wanna talk to you.”
“Alright,” he said, sitting down next to you. He had slunk himself into a pair of plaid pajama bottoms, his firm chest and belly open to your eyes as he reached over to his nightstand and grabbed a hairband, and he started to put his hair up as he widened his eyes at you, prompting you to speak.
“I, umm,” you started. “You… I know I’m only going to Indianapolis for college, it’s not that far away, but… But long distance, I, um… I’m just scared.”
“Okay,” Eddie mumbled, the hairband held between his teeth. He snapped it around his fingers, and he added, “Are you scared we’ll break up when you go to college?”
“I’m just scared of the distance…” you started. “Yeah, maybe it makes the heart grow fonder, but what if it doesn’t? What if we… What if we don’t survive it?”
Eddie finally finished putting his hair up, and he scooped you into his arms and settled you above him again, your thighs parted around his waist. “We will,” he said. “We’ve survived so far, haven’t we? I’ll come up whenever I can, and there’ll be breaks from school that you’ll come home to Hawkins. We’ll see each other.”
“But what if we don’t?” you asked. “I mean, it’s easy to say all of that now, but what if we don’t survive it? I can’t live without you.”
“And that’s why we’re gonna survive,” Eddie told you. “Because I can’t even bear the thought of you going home tonight and not being with me. My heart hurts whenever you’re not here, and I… I know that we’ll be alright. Okay?”
You nodded, and Eddie’s big hand touched your cheek. “Good,” he said softly. “Stay for just a few more minutes.”
“I’ll stay all night,” you told him, and you kissed him gently, tasting his lips one more time. “Let me call my mom and tell her I’m sleeping over.”
“You’re gonna tell her?” Eddie chuckled.
“Of course not,” you giggled. “I’ll say that Dustin and Jeff and Gareth are staying over too, something about getting ready for D&D on Friday.”
“You’re so cute when you lie to your parents,” Eddie said, pinching your cheek, and you rolled your eyes. “I love you, stupid.”
“I love you too,” you told him. “Stupid.”

Steve used to be extremely outgoing; in high school, everyone wanted to be around him, or with him, or just be him, and he thrived off of that kind of attention. Anything to keep his mind off of his earlier childhood traumas, anything to keep him from thinking about how he's always alone, always unwanted.
When he was newly seventeen, though, he started to hate attention. Nancy Wheeler was his girlfriend- but they were fighting and she wouldn't answer his texts. He finally found her at Jonathan Byers's house, and she held him at gunpoint. He'd been more upset that she wouldn't explain anything to him than he was that she was holding a loaded weapon to his face. Then a hellbeast with no eyes and an enormous, five-petaled mouth had popped out of the walls, and he was beating it back with a baseball bat that Jonathan had given him.
Somehow, they'd lived, and had almost a full year of recuperation. But then Halloween happened, and Nancy ruined his favorite holiday by telling him all of the ways he was bullshit (for following the government orders, for being his father's son, for being alive when her best friend was not). Steve felt like he was dying, that next day, but then Dustin had begged for help and he was protecting this group of shitheads who were too nosy for their own good.
By the time he graduated, he'd been kicked out of his family home, disowned, and was living in a shitty little shoebox of an apartment in Hawkins while he worked two jobs (one at Scoops Ahoy, and one at a cafe downtown). He's constantly exhausted, constantly nervous over the Upside-Down resurfacing, terrified for his kids. And he was right; the loss of Starcourt proved it.
Then there was Vecna. He'd been having nightmares for weeks, and then Max had talked about seeing some girl being killed (Della Devons, the head cheerleader at Hawkins High, according to Dustin), and how everyone was scared and how she might be next- Vecna had nearly destroyed them.
When Max woke up from her coma, Steve finally decided that enough was enough and told all of his kids that he was headed into the city. He was encouraged to go, when he told them all. Dustin had cried, but smiled and made Steve promise to let him visit as soon as he was settled.
******
An online ad asking for a roommate led him to Redemption Avenue- the actual name of the street, Steve thought was fitting for his goal. It was a rundown little place in the seedier part of the city, but this Eddie guy seemed okay, so Steve contacted him and fortunately, he was accepted.
Eddie was odd; he was delighted to have Steve, obviously, and helped Steve get a nice job at a local bakery after hearing that Steve loved to cook. Eddie kept weird hours, but always made sure to keep the noise down so Steve could rest.
Then, when Steve had his first night terror after moving into the apartment (so much nicer than the one he had in Hawkins), Eddie burst into his room with a knife instead of kicking him out. He hadn't even been angry; Eddie had just talked him down. He hadn't pressed Steve to explain why he had begged his demons to stop, please, I work for Scoops, just offered to stay and watch over Steve while he slept.
And then he stayed. And snuggled up to Steve when they woke up, clinging to him until Steve gave him caffeine and a breakfast omelet.
Eddie then started doting on Steve. Snacks whenever Steve came home from work, movie nights and dinners, late-night comfort cuddles after a particularly rough nightmare. Steve loved every second of it; he knew he adored Eddie more and more with each act of kindness, but he was terrified that it would backfire if he reached out.
*****
Dustin had complained about Steve not pushing towards his goals, after one night when Steve was twenty-one and admitted that he wanted to be a nurse. Dustin helped him apply for college and he started classes that fall, but still, Eddie was a saint. Packed him lunches every night (usually it's leftovers of whatever Steve made, but sometimes it's a cute little box full of Steve's favorite treats), encouraged him to take breaks (sometimes he just picked Steve up and carried him to the couch, dropped Steve's latest knitting project on his lap, and glared until Steve allowed himself to hunker down and relax), and even reminded him that he had some assignments coming up (refused to ask about what courses he was taking, wouldn't even ask what the assignments were about, just labeled dates on the calendar for when they're due).
****
When Steve passed his final exams, Eddie was the first person he told. Eddie was ecstatic, and bullied Steve into visiting his hometown to celebrate with his family. Steve hadn't wanted to go, but Eddie convinced him that his kids would be proud and deserved to be able to celebrate with him.
Eddie also hosted a little party at home, with all of their neighbor friends: Taylor, Maria, Derek and Przemysław, Mason and Bill, Bruce and Donnar, Sam, and even Mrs. Ryans (who adored Steve but despised Eddie). Steve was made to feel like he was special, worthy of this celebration, and Eddie just kept piling on to it.
On Steve's first day of his new job (a pediatric nurse at the nearby hospital), Eddie packed lunch for him. It was one of Steve's favorites, lasagna, with as many of Steve's favorite snacks as would fit in his lunchbox. There was even a note; a cute little comic of Nurse Steve saving a little boy. It's when he sees that little note that Steve is struck by the realization that he's completely infatuated with Eddie. He's in love with his dorky roommate. Steve is delighted at first, he almost calls Eddie to tell him, but he's struck with the sudden thought that it could end up like his relationship with Nancy. On top of that, how could he tell Eddie about all of the Upside-Down bullshit? He couldn't keep that secret from someone he loved- so he decided to squash it all down, refuse to acknowledge it, and pray that it wouldn't ruin what he had with Eddie already.

First of all, I just want to say I love your work!
Second I saw tic toc about a man who had a crow steal his d20 from him and I used to have a murder of crows that I befriended years ago and the would bring me all sorts of things to our breaks together. I would share my food, and in return, they would bring me things. Anyway, I thought that would be a really cute story. Like the reader eats her lunch at the picnic table in the woods at school and shares her food with them and one day they bring her Eddie's die and she recognized it right away because she used to babysit Dustin or Lucas so she knows what the dice goes to and she goes up to one of the kids and asks if it belongs to a new set and the point her in the direction of Eddie then after that I don't know he tells her the story of how a crow took it from him and no one believes him. Or whatever you want to happen, I don't know why I thought it was a cute idea.
First of all, ILY. I always notice and appreciate your support (: I look forward to what you think everytime I post.
Second of all, YOU ARE LIVING MY DISNEY PRINCESS DREAMS WITH THE CROW FRIENDS!!! I'm jealous. I messed with it a little bit but I hope you still like it.
Warnings: Food/Eating, Cussing, meet-cute, all of my work is 18+ only

The Murder And The Die
The paper of your sandwich crinkled as you unwrapped it. You decided to treat yourself today by grabbing something from the sandwich shop in town instead of your usually soggy peanut butter and jellies. You also bought a fresh baked loaf of bread for your friends.
You sat at the little picnic table behind your work, your usual lunch spot weather permitting. The table hid off a trail in the woods that you were convinced no one else knew existed. It was the perfect spot to decompress in the middle of the work day. The day felt nice and the sun shone down on your skin, warming you all the way to your bones.
It had been a good day, a perfect day, and it was about to get even better.
You heard the first flapping of wings rustle through the air and a singular raven black feather drifted from the sky and landed on the table in front of you. You bit down your smile, waiting for them to make their appearance.
If you had known that feeding your lunches to the crows would bring on a friendship then you would have done it a lot sooner. They visited you every time you ate lunch out here, bringing you treasures that they had found on their adventures around town.
You had a whole shoebox at home full of buttons and other shiny trinkets. You had no reason to keep them other than the fact that your little feathered friends had found you and thought you were the best recipient of their gifts.
It was an honor, really.
“Hi, Odie,” you cooed at the ring leader as he hopped up on the table beside you. You picked at the loaf of bread, selecting little fluffy pieces to scatter around.
You heard a deep and heavy thud hit the wooden table and you immediately started looking around, excited for what your friends brought you this time.
You scooped it up as soon you saw it lying to the far left side of the table, twirling it between your fingers. It was black and red with numbers leading all the way up to twenty engraved on each side. You marveled at how expensive it felt, like it was made out of thick glass instead of the plastic of the usual dice you would find with a board game.
You had to admit that this was the most impressive find that the crows had brought you. You couldn’t wait to put this in the box beside the rest of their finds.
“Thank you so much,” you sang to your little friends as they hopped around, pecking up the bread. Odin looked up at you with a little glisten in his eye before heading straight for the loaf that sat beside you.
You made a sound equivalent to the people that talk to dogs and babies.
A sound breaking through the bushes in front of the table had you and the birds pausing from your meals and looking up.
A man broke through the brush, cussing and stumbling.
“Damn, birds,” he muttered, panting as he brushed himself off. He had dark hair pulled back into what could have been a bun or ponytail, you weren’t sure from where you sat. He wore grease stained coveralls that tied off at his waist, showing off his slight muscled arms through a black tank top. The dice fell from your hand onto the table with a thud out of surprise.
His eyes snapped to yours before they squinted in disbelief.
“Hey! That’s mine!” He yelled, pointing at your gift that was sitting on the table.
You shook your head immediately, not wanting to give up what the birds had given you.
The man crossed his arms over his chest. “Yes, it is. Those birds just stole it from me. They took it right out of my damn hand!”
“The birds took this from you? They would never,” you choked out, fighting back a laugh.
Odin hopped closer, biting at your unattended sandwich and you let him, choosing to focus on the mess of a beautiful man that stood before you, looking like he had just come from battle over the die that you clutched in your palm.
The man nodded aggressively, hair falling from what you could now tell was a bun.
“And I just chased them all the way across town to get it back so if you wouldn’t mind,” he said as he stepped closer and held a palm out, waiting for you to drop it in his waiting hand.
You tilted your head like you were thinking about it before you turned to Odin who was still looking at you like he was understanding the conversation happening and wanted to mess with the man also.
“What do you think, Odie?” You asked the bird, “Should we give it back to the nice man?”
The crow cawed loudly, and the man jumped.
“Hmm…interesting point. He did very rudely chase you and your family,” you tapped your pointer finger against your chin.
“You named the birds?” The man asked incredulously as he sat at the table across from you, making himself at home at your little spot.
You didn’t really mind.
“Oh, yeah,” you said with a nod, “this is Odin, or Ordie, he’s the ring leader. That little one right there is Freyja, and the one over there eying the chain hanging on your neck is Loki. There are others but I’m sure they hopped off somewhere around here.”
The man grabbed the chain around his neck that you now realized held a guitar pick and slid it back and forth.
“And they bring you things that they steal from other people?”
You laughed. “Well, I didn’t ask them to do that. I just assumed they were grabbing things they found lying around on the ground. But this has been my favorite find,” you admitted as you held up the die and handed it to him, deciding to end his torture.
“And how did you train them to do that?” He leaned in, interested now and you feared he may be thinking up plans to start an army of crows.
“I didn’t train them. Crows are smart. All I did was feed them and talk to them when I come out here on my lunch break everyday and they just started bringing me gifts. I have a whole box at home with treasures,” you said with a shrug.
The man slammed his hands down on the table.
“That is so fucking cool,” he said in disbelief, shaking his head. “You're magical or something!”
You stared at him for a moment, liking the way the sun shone through the trees and hit his brown eyes, showing flecks of caramel in the darkness. You noticed the way his cheeks darkened some as he stared back at you like you were amazing or something.
He cleared his throat before pushing up from the table. He held the die up in his hand waving it in the air.
“Thanks for giving this back. And sorry if I seemed kind of like an asshole. I just couldn’t think of a way to explain to people that I lost a battle against a bird. I’m Eddie by the way. I work at the mechanic shop across town.”
You laughed at the way he seemed so flustered all of a sudden and told him your name.
“It was nice to meet you, Eddie,” you said as he turned and pushed his way back through the bushes.
The next day, you sat at the same bench taking a bite at your sandwich again as you told the birds about your day.
The bushes rustled again and you froze, wandering what angry person might come stomping through today.
To your surprise, Eddie appeared, holding a loaf of bread in his hand from the bakery across town.
You smiled at him as he held up the loaf of bread.
“Mind if I join you?”

Drabble: Call Of Duty- Love Language
Tumblr media
John Price Bravo Six
Prices love language is Words of Affirmation and Quality Time.
Price is constantly writing you little notes out. They're literally stuffed everywhere. In your go-bag (if you work with him) , in your lunch box (If you work outside of military). The amount of long paraghed messages you've recived from him before he's deployed are starting to cause your phone to alert you of it's space issue.
Price has that nice fancy cursive hand-writing so every note that you find with his handwriting on it you keep so it's nice and presentable. Sometimes you'll wake to him gone, but with a note left on your bathroom mirror written in an old expo marker. The notes are just he start of it, Price has a great pair of ears. He'll listen to you talk all day if that because he likes your voices or because he wants to help is here or there.
Price has all the letters you've sent to him during his deployments stuffed away in an old shoebox in the closet. He holds those peices of paper close to his heart when he's away. They ground him. Make him realize the you're a plane flight away waiting for him at home in his bed, probably wearing his clothes. You're also just so fucking genuine in your letters, your emotion seep through the pages and clench around his heart in best of ways.
With how long Price can be away sometimes, the quality time the two of you spend together is hightly important to the two of you. It's important that the two of you snuggle on the couch, spend tocuhing each other. That you tell him all about the things that happened at work while he was away. (Hell you've taken to writing it all down so you remember all that've happened.) "Come sit down love, and tell me about work today." Price would say his hand softly gripped around your wrist.
Price has a few favorite nicknames he likes to call you around the house. Sweets, Baby, and Love. They're all things that come to mind when he thinks of you. If the two of you dancing around your apartment, or when the two of you get hot and heavy between the sheets Price calls you all the same.
John MacTavish Soap
Johns love langauge is Gift Giving and Quality Time.
It starts off with little things. If John is out at the grocery store he normaly comes backwith an extra deserct or your favorite choice of wine. He knows everything down to your favorite candies. (You know the ones that you're never able to find yourself). The gifts get bigger the longer you're together with John. Little bobble heads, or magnets from places he's been while away on deployment, (The fridge looks like the world map).
Things get even bigger and a bit bolder after that, some gifts are jewlery, things that you'd wear to the military ball. Sometimes it's something smiple like a cd that you can get in the states, or a new purse that John will stock away in the back of the closet until christmas and when you ask where he'd been hiding it he won't tell. "I'm not tellin' you my secret hidin' place lass. You'll go snooping the minute I'm gone." John tells you one chirstmas. The best gift by far as been a stuffed animal dressed up in a military outfit with his voice inside so every time you needed to hear his voice he was right there; just one click away.
The two of you work out well. Your love language is all gift giving, hell the amount of supply boxes you've sent for him while he's been on base; or for him and his other team mates. Letters with your whole written out into three-four-five pages worth. John's got a passcode on his phone, because (you tend to send him a few pretty little pictures of yourself waiting for him in his bed.)
Of course John calls you Lass, but he's got special nicknames for you when you greet him at the base to come and take him home. "You're home!" Jumping into his large and strong arms, "Bonnie, I'm here now don't ya worry. I'm all yours now bonnie." He reply hugging you tightly. The brush of your lips, and breathe that you manage to be able to take from just getting a quick kiss from him on the tarmack. Sweets is what he calls you when he's down between your thigh living on cloud nine.
Simon Riley Ghost
Simons love language is Acts Of Service, and Quality Time.
I'm not sure if it's how Simon grew up, or the fact that's always away but Simon is literally always asking you if you need help getting something from a higher up shelf (The man is 6'3 come on now). He'll even do the more domestic things with you. Dinner he helps with and then he'll do the dishes while you go out into the living room. You pull out a puzzle, he'll sit right next to you or on the couh behind you with your between his legs, and help you.
If you're sick, and he's home you've got your own personal stay-at-home nurse. Breakfast in bed with all the right medicine, and vitiamins. If your sick, and Si isn't there oh shit, you've got food doordashes to the front door every single night, and it's not unhealthy food. You're on your period, he takes care of you. A large hand that looms on the hot skin on your lower stomach to cool the cramps away. He'll sit with you on the couch and watch all the stupidest, cringest of romcoms to sedate your need to cry.
In the same step though Simon forgets to take care of himself most of the time. So worried about you and how good you're doing that he forgets that he also has to think about himself from time to time. That's where you come in, as Simons other half you fix that real quick. Dinner is always ready for him, you'll run a hot soothing bath for him when you know he's coming back from deployment. All of his laundry is done before he can even think about dragging the stinky duffel to the wash room. "Thank you, honey." Simon would grumble as he walked into the living his hair a mess. You'd nod and kiss his cheek gently.
Simon does have a few exclusive nicknames he uses for you. Honey, Angel, and Love. Yet that one you hear the most is Angel because, for him, you're his angel. You're the thing that keeps him rooted in reality. You could be easily hurt by that world he works in, yet you are the only person he thinks of while away on deployment. You are the reason he comes home.
Köing
Köings love language is Physcial Touch, and Quality Time.
Köing surely makes up for the height difference. He's always got a hand on you. Be it your back as he guides you around or in your hand. He's always got to be touching you. Not only does it ground him, but he likes to think that he’s keeping you safe.
He knows nobody is going to mess with the guy that’s 6’10. You like to think you’ve your own guard dog, so it works out nicely. Köing isn't afraid of PDAs; he thrives on it. He loves a simple hand-holding or a kiss to your cheek, forehead, or lips in a public setting. He loves it all. He loves how soft your skin is against his rough, callused hands. Or how plump and soothing your lips are against his own.
In the same, Köing loves to just spend time with you snuggled up under a blanket, watching a movie. Köing loves to cuddle you in his arms during a scary movie, keeping you safe from the horrors displayed on the screen. Köing does use his height against you sometimes. He picks you up, practically spinning you around whenever he returns from deployment. You're just standing there waiting for him and his team to return when you're grabbed tightly and turned around in the air. You gather a bit of attention as you scream and cry with excitement that Köing has arrived back.
Köing has a few speicla nicknames for you. He loves to call you Buttercup, Princess, and my love. "Come on, buttercup, let's go laid down." He'd whisper in your ear as he leaned over the back of the couch to get you to bed with him, "But my TV show just started." You'd whine, "We can watch it in bed together, my love." Köing would argue with you.

Holly Jolly - Ch. 3: Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Joel and Sarah celebrate the holiday with you and Sharon. The final chapter of Holly Jolly, a modern no-outbreak TLOU fic found on Tumblr here.
Tumblr media
Pairing: Joel Miller x Female Reader
Warnings: None really!
Length: 4.8k
AO3 | Main Master List | First Chapter | Previous Chapter
“You think this is the way to go?” Joel asked, looking at the drawing in his hand as he sat on a video call with you in the middle of a Home Depot.
“Yup,” you said, glancing back to the living room to see Sarah and Sharon deep in some adventure with Sharon’s Star Wars action figures. There were active blaster noises followed by a very dramatic sounding explosion. They were pretty occupied as you stood in the kitchen, leaning against your counter, waiting for the oven timer to ding. “I think if you go totally in this direction and just build something that’s perfect for the arbiesbay and how she plays with them, it’s even better than a reamday ousehay.”
Joel was quiet for a second.
“Did you just speak pig latin?”
“You try hiding things from the irlsgay without switching languages,” you replied.
Joel snorted.
“Alright, well, just tell me what you think of these paint colors,” he said. “You’re the one with the vision.”
Something smacked into the wall with a thud in the living room and you looked up from your phone. The shoebox the girls had been using for a space ship was across the room.
“Hey,” you said. “Let’s not throw things, OK? If we throw things that means we can’t play with them anymore.”
“But how is it supposed fly?” Sharon groaned.
“Pretend,” you said. “Not by hurling it.”
“Fine,” she huffed before getting up and getting the box, running it back across the room and bringing it in for a landing with a dramatic, explosive sound.
You laughed and sighed, looking at the mess of dolls and Legos scattered all over the floor after a few hours of the girls playing together.
“I need to get a toy box for the living room,” you said. “This is getting out of hand. Alright, let’s see the paints.”
Joel held up three samples of pink.
“Um…” you squinted at the screen. “Middle one, I think.”
“I was thinkin’ that too,” he said. “Looks closest to the box color for the arbiebay I already got her.”
“Was that pig latin?”
“Utshay upyay. What about this one?”
He held up a few purples as you giggled.
“First one,” you said. “That will play best with the first one we picked.”
“Right,” he said. “Alright, just need two more…”
He held up a few options for the white and then a few for a green.
“OK,” he said. “Think that’s everything… Thanks again for your help on this, I really don’t know what the uckfay I’m doing with this.”
You had to fight to not snort laugh at fuck in pig latin.
“Any time,” you said as the oven dinged. “And I need to go pull out gingerbread. See you soon?”
“Yup,” he said. “Just gotta check out here, pick up pizza and headed your way after.”
“Oundssay Oodgay.”
Joel laughed.
“Ebyay.”
You pulled the gingerbread out and set it aside to cool and just watched the girls playing from the living room.
Considering that you’d never met Joel and Sarah Miller before Thursday night, you were suddenly spending a lot of time with them. You and Joel had lunch together while Christmas shopping and you were surprised to learn that you got along better than you thought you would. Joel was oddly funny in a dry, clever way, every teasing moment and wry one liner feeling like an inside joke even though you’d only known each other a few days. You had the same concerns about raising girls as single parents, especially as young single parents who still felt a lot like kids yourselves. He was almost strangely insightful for a man, especially one who was damn near a perfect stranger. He seemed to understand the meaning behind your hesitant pauses or why you chose the words you did. Communicating with him was so straightforward and easy going, unlike anything you’d ever really experienced with someone so quickly before. You really liked Joel and Sharon adored his daughter. You really hoped you could help give them a great Christmas. They deserved it.
You’d drawn up a plan for the Dream House on Sunday night, going in a different direction than just trying to recreate what was on the shelf at the store.
Instead, you’d made a Barbie-fied version of Joel and Sarah’s house. You’d found their house on Google Maps - it felt a little too weird to look it up on Zillow - and took a guess at the layout based on what you’d seen on the inside and what the footprint of the house was from above.
Joel had stopped by your apartment Monday after work to pick up the plans and you stepped into the breezeway outside your door, leaving Sharon watching a cartoon in the living room.
“I hope it’s not too weird,” you bit your lip as you handed the blue prints over. “If it is, I can redo it tonight and I don’t think it’ll put you too far behind…”
He took the pages and frowned as he flipped through them. Your heart sank for a moment.
“Is this… our house?” He asked, looking up from the papers to look at you.
“Yeah,” you said. “I thought… since, you know, you just bought it and you bought it to give Sarah a better life, that kind of makes it a dream house, right? And I thought she might like to have her Barbies in a house that was like hers… I’m sorry, I over stepped, that’s not…”
“This is amazing,” he said, looking back down at the plans. “Do you think she’ll like it?”
You smiled, shoving your hands in the back pockets of your jeans.
“Yeah. I think so, anyway. I would have, when I was her age. I think she will, too.”
Even though you’d just seen him three days in a row, you were looking forward to spending the evening with him tonight, too. You had the supplies for making peanut butter cookies set out - as well as the peppermint bark shortbread you’d made every year since you were 20 and looking for something simple to make in your first apartment kitchen - and Joel was coming over to bake with you and the girls.
You had a little surprise for him, too. When he’d first dropped Sarah off that afternoon, you’d gotten the girls to help make some Christmas decorations he could bring home with him. Paper chains and cut out snowflakes and Christmas trees made out of plastic spoons. Once the girls got bored you let them loose on the toys and told Sharon to bring the adventure to the living room so you could keep an eye on them as you made gingerbread. They were having a blast and you now had enough gingerbread to build a small village of houses, plus a small box of homemade decor to give to Joel. You just hoped he liked it.
The girls were so involved with whatever they were playing - lightsabers were out now and Sharon was standing on the couch - that they barely noticed when he got there with an armload of pizza.
“OK definitely feelin’ like I got off pretty easy in this deal,” he said, setting the pizza down on your breakfast bar.
“It’s fine,” you waved him off. “My downstairs neighbors work in the afternoon and evening so they’re not bothering anyone. And they’ve stayed out of my way so it’s been no trouble, truly.”
“Daddy!” Sarah yelped, dropping the lightsaber and running for him, leaping into his arms like she hadn’t seen him in weeks, instead of just a few hours. “We made stuff and played Barbies and now we’re playing wars…”
“Star Wars,” Sharon corrected, jumping off the couch and stumbling forward as she landed. “It’s so cool, it’s this real old movie…”
“Alright,” Joel cut them off. “I’ll stop ya there, I remember when some of those came out, don’t need you saying they’re that old…” He set Sarah down and turned to you. “Didn’t take you for a Star Wars fan.”
You shrugged.
“Gotta introduce the kid to classic film.”
“Oh lord,” he rolled his eyes and laughed. “Think you’re the same age as me, better watch what you say about classic film…”
You got the girls to sit still long enough to plow through the better part of a cheese pizza and some carrot sticks while you and Joel split a supreme, sitting so close to each other that your knees brushed below the table.
The first time it happened, you jerked your leg away on instinct but Joel didn’t react. So you let your leg relax a little and, bit by bit, your knee drifted until it was against his thigh and your heart was in your throat.
After dinner, you pulled two chairs into the kitchen for the girls to stand on and you supervised as they combined the ingredients for peanut butter blossoms, their little faces getting covered in a dusting of flour and a smear of peanut butter ending up in the middle of Sharon’s shirt. They gleefully rolled the balls of dough in sugar and you handled putting the Hershey kisses in the middle of each one as the cookies neared the end of baking as Joel helped the girls secure the structure of their gingerbread houses.
“This much frosting seems dangerous,” Joel said after you’d joined them back at the table, cookies cooling on their racks on your packed counter.
“Oh, it is,” you said before you put your tongue between your teeth to concentrate on adding a small chimney to your house. “This is why we do it at the end, so you can get one sugar addled child and I get the other and I’m not wrangling both of them.”
He laughed a little, adding a Twizzler window frame.
“Daddy?” Sarah looked up from her sagging house. “It’s not staying up.”
“One sec Baby Girl…” He got up and went around to help her and you watched as he carefully adjusted the roof and added a little support beam. “See, that’ll help distribute the weight better, makes it more secure. Make sense?”
“I think so,” she said. “Can I add more M&Ms now?”
“Yeah, you can add more M&Ms,” he laughed a little before sitting back next to you. You let your knee drift to his thigh again.
He looked at you for a second, a soft look in his eyes, and you thought about taking your leg back but you didn’t.
“In case I haven’t said it,” he said. “Thank you for just… everything you’ve been doin’. Sarah’s been so happy this last week and I know you and Sharon got a lot to do with that. I’m real glad Sarah met her.”
You smiled a little.
“I am, too.”
Joel took a deep breath.
“And I’m real glad I met you, too.”
Your heart picked up.
“Yeah?”
You leaned in a little closer to him.
“Yeah.”
“Aunt Cocoa, look!” Sharon piped up from across the table and you turned away from Joel to look at her gingerbread house that was dripping frosting and sprinkles.
“That’s amazing!” You said. “You’re doing a great job girlie pop, definitely better than mine.”
When the houses were done, you and Sharon helped carry everything down to Joel’s truck, including the box of decorations. He frowned at it when you handed it to him to put in the cab.
“What’s this?”
“Just… open it when you get home,” you smiled. “Let me know what you think.”
He lifted Sarah into her carseat and buckled her in before closing the door and turning to you.
“So, I was thinkin’,” he said. “My brother was supposed to host Christmas dinner but now he’s going to some girlfriend’s place and it doesn’t sound like you’ll have anywhere to be… would you two want to come over? Don’t have to if it’s weird, I know we just met but…”
“I’d love that,” you cut him off, smiling. “Just let me know what I can bring? Or I can volunteer a dessert…”
“Dessert is great,” he said. “Just… mostly just want you there.”
You smiled bigger.
“Then I’ll be there.”
He smiled, making his cheek dimple.
“Good,” he said. “Can’t wait.”
***
Joel sent you one final picture of the dream house.
Think it’s done.
He half expected you not to respond. It was after midnight, officially Christmas Day. By all rights, you should be asleep.
You texted back anyway.
That’s perfect! Sarah will LOVE it.
Joel smiled at his phone like a damn idiot and scrolled through the messages the two of you had sent each other in the short time that he’d known you. There were the pictures he’d sent of his living room after he put up the decorations you and the girls had made him, pictures you’d sent of the gingerbread houses on your breakfast bar as you documented evidence of Sharon slowly sneaking pieces off of them, pictures he’d sent of the progress he made on the dream house.
He clicked on your contact photo and made it fill his screen, the selfie you’d sent him the first night he’d met you. He smiled a little. He couldn’t help it.
You were so pretty he wondered how he didn’t see it at first, even with the ridiculous sweater and the antlers. He must have been in a real shit mood to have not noticed because, over the last few days, he found himself pulling the picture up again and again just to look at you.
He did it when he had a break at work and was checking his phone for other messages. He did it when he was waiting for Sarah to finish breakfast as she dawdled before school. Most often, though, he did it just before he fell asleep when he felt oddly lonely and wished you were there.
It was a strange thought for him. He hadn’t really been with anyone since Sarah’s mom. There just hadn’t been time, he was too busy with work and his daughter, and he’d never longed for someone he’d never even kissed before. At least, not since he was a fucking teenager.
But he wanted to be next to you. He damn near melted the first time your knee had brushed his thigh, had to fight the urge to put his hand over that knee, trail his fingers along the inside of your thigh. And fuck, had he wanted to kiss you. You were so close and you smelled like vanilla and sugar and he knew - he just knew - that your lips would be soft and sweet.
He’d only seen you two days since then - plenty, considering you just met, but it felt like so little. Once, when the two of you had taken the girls Christmas shopping and traded kids so they could get something for each of you, and another time when you’d taken the girls to the playground together. The two of you had tried to sit on a bench and watch them play but the girls weren’t satisfied, pulling you and Joel up to play freeze tag.
Joel was looking forward to Christmas now. He’d actually been able to get Sarah what she wanted - or hoped she wanted, anyway - and he was getting to see you. He wasn’t entirely sure how but he’d gone from a man who was all but dreading the holiday to one who was almost as excited as his daughter for the day to come.
You sent him a picture of a Millennium Falcon set up for Sharon under the tree. Joel laughed a little and smiled.
She’s going to love it.
You followed it up with a picture of a sticker sheet.
She might like this more, who knows.
He wondered if it would be weird to ask you for a selfie. Probably. Still, he considered it. But he just texted, instead.
You did a great job. Really.
Why are you still up? You should go to bed, Joel. Santa can’t come if you’re still awake.
He tried to picture you saying it, the serious look you’d try to keep on your face as your lips curved up at the edges.
I will if you will.
Alright, you convinced me! See you tomorrow.
You sent a little heart after your last message and Joel tried to not read into it as he went to bed and pulled up your picture one more time, just to look at you, drifting off wondering how you’d feel curled up next to him.
Sarah tackled him at 6:17 a.m.
“Daddy!” She shook his whole body. “Daddy, wake up, I think Santa came! Daddy, get up!”
“Alright, Baby Girl,” he groaned, blinking the sleep from his eyes. “M’awake, gimme a minute, we’ll go see if Santa came…”
He shook his head a little as he sat up, his hair falling over his forehead, and he got a shirt from his dresser before pulling up the camera on his phone.
“Alright Kiddo,” he said. “You stay right here at the top of the stairs for just a minute so I can get you on video…”
He went into the living room and turned on the lights, the paper chains you’d made with the girls dangling cheerfully from the doorways.
“Alright,” he said, starting recording, suddenly nervous about Sarah seeing the homemade dream house. What if she hated it? This might be the first Christmas she really remembered, what if he ruined it? “Come on down, Baby Girl.”
Sarah thundered down the stairs and into the living room, her curls bouncing as she ran. Her eyes went wide and her mouth made a small “o” when she saw the house sitting next to the tree. She ran over to it and dropped to her knees beside it, a Barbie and a Ken standing in the kitchen, ready for her to play with.
“Daddy!” She gaped at him, a look of awe on her face. “Daddy, that’s our house! That’s our house but Barbie!”
“Is it?” He asked.
“Yeah!” She said. “See, that’s the kitchen and we’re in here in the living room…”
“Do you like it?” He asked, hoping he didn’t sound too hesitant.
“It’s the best thing I’ve ever seen!” She looked back to the house. “Barbie has a house like us!”
“Yeah,” Joel said, trying not to tear up. “Yeah, she does.”
It took Sarah a while to even want to move on to her stocking - loaded with candy - and the gifts under the tree. Joel had never been happier to see Sarah happy and it tugged at his heart knowing that he couldn’t have done it without you.
There were two things under the tree for Joel from Sarah, one that she let him have then and one that she insisted on waiting for you to be there for.
The first one was half of a butterfly best friend necklace and he frowned a little at it.
“Hold on!” She scampered off to her room for a moment before she came running back, flopping on Joel’s lap as he sat cross legged next to the tree. She held up the other side. “See? So when you go to work you can remember me!”
There was the burning pinch of tears in his eyes when he pulled her in to kiss her cheek.
“I always remember you, Baby Girl,” he said, voice wet. “But I love it so so much, thank you.”
He put it on, the chain much shorter around his thick neck than it was around her little one. She giggled and put her half of the butterfly against his before going back to playing with the Barbies.
Joel had to pull himself away from watching her play to get dressed and make breakfast before making her get dressed, too, and then handling all the holiday things that needed doing before you arrived.
He was putting the ham in the oven when the doorbell rang and Sarah shrieked before running for the door, Joel only catching a glimpse of a red dress as he ducked back below the paper chain between the kitchen and the living room.
“I saved it just for you,” Sarah said conspiratorially as he made it to the door. You smiled at Joel over his head. “I wanted you to see, too!”
“That was very sweet,” you smiled at her. “Have you had a good Christmas?”
“The best,” she said. “Santa made a dream house just for me!”
“He did?” Sharon’s mouth dropped open. “That’s so cool! I brought a Barbie, can she come over and see it?”
“Yeah!” Sarah took her hand and the two girls tore into the living room, almost running into Joel on their way past.
“Hey,” you smiled, your eyes bright and beautiful, in a green sweater that was so far from the one he’d first seen you in. This one was a dress that clung to your frame, hugging all the parts of you he’d thought about far too much. You moved to hug him, a little awkwardly with a pie plate in your hands, but he didn’t care. He was just happy for the excuse to touch you, hoped you wouldn’t hear his heart pounding in his green flannel shirt.
“Hey,” he smiled as he gave you a squeeze.
“Told you she’d love it,” you whispered before you pulled back, giving him a wink.
The two of you went to the living room and watched the girls play, your legging clad legs brushing against him and he wondered if you even noticed, if it was all just an accident or if you were as aware of every time you touched like he was.
“Oh, Dad, I have one more for you!” Sarah went and got the other small box from under the tree. “Miss Cocoa helped me pick it. And helped me buy it because it was more money than you gave me.”
“You didn’t need to do that,” he frowned at you.
You just waved him off.
“I had coupons,” you said. “And Kohl’s Cash. And then it was only like $15 more dollars. Nothing crazy.”
He unwrapped the box and opened it. Inside was a watch with a black face, green band and a metal case, one that would actually hold up to his job.
“I wanted to get you the pink one,” Sarah said. “But she said she didn’t think it would fit you.”
“Yeah, your dad is a big guy,” Joel could hear you smiling. “That pink watch looked a little small. I think this one will work better.”
“Try it on!” Sarah said, bouncing a little beside him. “I wanna see!”
“Alright,” he said, taking off his old watch that had seen far better days and sliding on the new one. He turned his wrist in the light, admiring it. “It’s perfect, Baby Girl.”
“You like it?” Sarah asked, her eyes wide.
“I love it,” he said, pulling her in to kiss her on the cheek. “Thank you so much.”
She clapped before going back to playing with Sharon.
You were looking at his wrist, a small smile on your face.
“Really shouldn’t have done that,” he said. “It really is perfect, but…”
You smiled bigger.
“She was just so excited about it,” you said. “I couldn’t resist.”
“Well,” Joel said. “I do have somethin’ for you, too.”
“Yeah?” You asked brows raised.
He stood up from the couch, holding his hand out for yours. You took it and he tugged you to your feet.
“You two behave yourselves for just a minute,” Joel said. “We’ll be right back.”
They didn’t even seem to notice, too busy moving the barbies through the house.
“C’mon,” he said, still holding your hand and guiding you toward the garage. “Now if you don’t like it, I can redo it…”
He led you to his garage workshop and turned on the lights, your gift sitting under a sheet on his workbench.
“Couldn’t really wrap it,” he nodded to it. “But it’s under there.”
“I can just…” You raised your eyebrows at him and he laughed a little.
“Yeah, go for it.”
You made an excited little sound before pulling back the sheet. You gasped at it and Joel smiled as you went to run your hands over the sides.
“This is gorgeous!” You said, looking from it to him. “What is it?”
“Well,” he said, coming and standing so close to you that he could feel you breathing. You smelled like sugar and cinnamon and clove. “When we were on the phone while I was at Home Depot the other day, you mentioned needing a toy box for your living room. Seemed like you care about things like your furniture and things so I wanted to make you one that looked like it’d be your style. It opens at the top…” He demonstrated, lifting the lid. “Put some bumpers on the lid, too, so if Sharon throws it around it won’t hurt anything… top can be a bench if you wanted, too, you got all those nice pillows on your couch and stuff… Anyway, like I said, I can change it if you don’t…”
You turned and threw your arms around his neck, pressing your warm, soft body against him. He hesitated for a moment before he hugged you back, his fingertips gripping you tight.
“I love it,” your voice was muffled by his shirt before you pulled back from him just enough to look at his face. “I think that’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever done for me, where did you find the time?”
“I ain’t slept much this week,” he laughed a little. “But that’s OK. It’s… it’s worth it. You’re worth it.”
You looked up at him, your eyes wide and warm and soft and all he wanted to do was kiss you. Joel thought it might be the only thing he ever wanted to do.
“Joel,” you breathed, pressing yourself a little closer to him.
“Is it OK if I kiss you now?” He asked softly, one of his hands slipping from your waist to gently hold your face. “Because damn, do I want to kiss you.”
You nodded eagerly and he tightened his hold on you, tilting your head just so to press his lips to yours.
You felt just like he thought you would but somehow so much better, your mouth so soft and warm against him, the taste of mint on your tongue. Your lips fit on his own the way that no one else’s ever had, he’d never kissed anyone and felt this desperate to keep kissing them, keep doing just about anything with them.
Eventually, you pulled back from him, breathless, and trailed your fingers through his hair. He smiled a little at you, panting a bit himself.
“Think we can get a babysitter and go out sometime?” He asked. “Just the two of us?”
“Yeah,” you laughed a little. “Yeah, I think we can.”
The two of you went back in the house, holding hands as you sat watching the girls play, giggling and chattering back and forth like they’d known each other for years. But Joel understood that now. He’d never seen Sarah latch on to anyone so fast but then, he’d never had feelings like this for someone so fast, either.
At dinner, he sat next to you, all four of you laughing, Christmas music on the background. When your knee came to rest against his leg, his hand slipped below the table and cupped your knee, his thumb stroking your thigh. You looked at him and smiled a little before your hand drifted below the table, too, giving his leg a squeeze.
When the girls wore themselves out, he left Sarah asleep on the couch, The Grinch on in the background, before he loaded the toy box into your trunk and then carried Sharon out, lowering her gently into her carseat. You buckled her in as she sleepily clutched her Barbie in one chubby hand and her Princess Leia action figure in the other.
“Thanks for comin’,” Joel said, stepping close to you. “And for everything you did for me and for Sarah the last few weeks.”
You smiled, leaning back against your car and tugging Joel against you, he smiled and laughed a little.
“I was happy to,” you said, eyes shining in the moonlight. “So what do you think? Good Christmas?”
He searched your eyes for a moment and slowly leaned in to kiss you again. Your smile broadened and you met him halfway, your fingers knotting in his shirt as you held him against you.
“Yeah,” he said, pulling just far enough away from you that he could look in your eyes again. “Best Christmas ever.”
A/N: Thanks for reading this little holiday fic! I hope you enjoyed it, even though it went up a few days later than I'd really hoped.
Wishing you a beautiful holiday season with lots of love and laughter. Thank you for being here and spending some of it with me ❤️

❝love languages❞
Tumblr media
pairing: eddie munson x gn!reader. cw: brief mention of drug use. words: 1.2k.
Tumblr media
I think eddie has three love languages: gift giving/receiving, quality time, and physical touch
as eddie is someone who didn’t grow up with a lot, he and his uncle often had to make do with what they had. whether it meant packing school lunches with what little was left in the fridge or sewing up the holes in eddie’s jacket with scraps from old bed sheets, eddie grew up understanding the value of doing what you can for another person out of love
which makes eddie an excellent gift-giver
eddie almost always has something to give you whenever he sees you
on your very first anniversary, eddie thrifted some fancy spoons and turned the handles into matching rings for you both, presenting yours to you at lover’s lake with a flourishing bow. he wears his damn near everywhere, he never takes it off
he also insisted on making each other’s lunches for valentine’s day and came to school with a PB&J cut (very badly) into the shape of a heart
he’s so surprisingly romantic that the hellfire club can’t even make fun of him for being so smitten with you. it’s just too cute ;-;
(and mike absolutely takes notes for el)
actually, dustin isn’t above teasing him. eddie may flay him on the track field for everyone to see but it’s worth it for the bit
eddie is also a FIRM believer in matching clothes
you bet your ass he’ll show up to school with a fresh new jean jacket under his arm for you
“I’ll even help you spruce it up! could put your favorite band on here, or rainbows and ponies, whatever the hell you want”
and he loves seeing you in it. he feels this insane pride when, even on a hot day, you’ve got it tied around your waist because you just wanna show off the cool jacket your boyfriend got you
eddie, in return, doesn’t want anything fancy
as I said before, he’s used to making do with what he has, but he always appreciates when you do go out of your way to get him something
even if you pick some flowers off the side of the road and present it to him at the door to his trailer on movie night, he’ll act like you’ve just given him a dozen red roses and keep them in a vase on his window sill until they start to die
and even then he’ll just dry them out and put them back in the vase afkdjfsdf
also pls give him new patches for his jacket
literally every single thing you’ve given him is displayed somewhere in his room or kept in a shoebox in his closet for safekeeping
he never wants to lose a thing. he’s 100% the type to keep things from his loved ones for as long as possible
also.... if ur into it.... I think he’d really like to get matching piercings with you
it would be a spur of the moment kinda thing? and probably something small in case you might get in trouble
you hold each other’s hands when you get them done and he’s got the biggest smile on his face when you’re all done
even if you don’t end up getting a piercing, he’ll really appreciate you being there. he’ll even pretend the piercing really hurts (it’s like his fifth one) so you’ll comfort him with kisses afterwards
speaking of which,, eddie is such a sucker for physical comfort
eddie is a big fan of casual touch so it shouldn’t be a surprise
before you start dating, eddie would grab you by the shoulders or tackle you in the hallway on the way to class
you get very used to feeling his hands on you whenever the two of you were in the same vicinity
if you had an issue with this, he’d of course back off because he’s a Gentleman, but if you’re fine with it, he’s just all over you all the time
it’s kind of what gives it away that he has feelings for you before he confesses
as those feelings deepen, the touches become a lot less casual
instead of jerking you around by the shoulders, he squeezes them gently between his big hands, sometimes bold enough to let his fingers graze your collarbone just to see you shiver
he’d come in for big hugs and tuck his face into your neck, mouth SUSPICIOUSLY close to the skin there
(the closer and more comfortable you are, the more likely he is to plant a sneaky little kiss there. so faint, you spend the rest of the day in a daze wondering if it actually happened)
he comes up behind you very often and the heat of him at your back as he taunts you in a low voice damn near sends your eyes rolling into the back of your head-
I’m getting carried away
now, these gestures are easy for him because they’re often not openly sensual. you could pass it off as him just playing around, trying to tease you
but when you’re dating and he’s off the deep end? even the slightest touch can have him melting
you’re sitting behind him on his mattress while he plays guitar and you start braiding his hair? skdjfasfkjfsf
you wipe his face clean after getting messy cooking in his kitchen? AKSFJAKSJFfh
you’re goofing around and blow some smoke into his mouth in lieu of a kiss? just like. kill him already
he’s sos daksjfkafsfaddfadgsd\
AHHHHHHH
god,,, you turn him into the biggest simp
you’re the morticia to his gomez, he fucking worships you
and finally, he loves spending time with you
he absolutely ropes you into the hellfire club, and whether you play or just like to watch, he’s always looking over his dm screen to steal glimpses of you
he’s especially elated if you’re following along with the story every week if you’re not playing
and if you are playing, he tries very hard not to give you extra special treatment because the boys would tear him limb from limb
he loves playing guitar for you as well
because you come over so often, he often plays you songs that his band is working on and love songs that he’s had on repeat since he first met you
he gets a little twitchy and nervous when you watch him so intently but the way your eyes light up during his performance is like. he could die right then and there and have no regrets other than not getting to spend the rest of his life with you
when he gets really riled up over jason being a dickhead, you’ll take him into the woods behind school where he’ll vent and then scream it out together with you until you’re both laughing and spent
and every single time, no matter what, he’s so thankful that you gave him a chance
he just loves you a lot. you make the shitty parts of life feel less shitty
you know that quote from everything, everywhere, all at once? the one that’s like “in another life, I would’ve really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you”? eddie feels that way for you
even if everything else sucks, he really does believe having you to come back to would make it all worth it

Dec 19. Prompt: Note. Word count: 278 @jegulus-microfic
James was frantically searching in their closet, looking for the bracelet his mom had given him that got lost in their moving boxes, when he opened a shoebox that made his heart flutter. He found piles of little notes in his handwriting, going back years, when Regulus first became a nurse.
With Regulus’ long hours and intense schedule, James took it upon himself to pack his then-boyfriend’s lunchbox for every single shift and he’d pack it with his lover’s favorite foods. There was always a warm homecooked meal, whether it was James’ or Effie’s, a cold wrap or sandwich, crackers with hummus or peanut butter, some fruits and veggies, an energy drink, a gatorade, and water. He’d mix it up so Reggie never got bored of his food but what he never changed were his little notes. He always wrote Regulus a small note and placed it on top of the containers so he could see it first when he would open his lunch bag. They were different variations of have a good day, I love you, a fun fact James had recently learned, encouraging words because his job was draining at times. Regulus always teased him about it but they both knew that those words helped Reg get through his 12+ hour shifts.
James never realized his now-husband had kept them all, every single one, in this little box. He's so busy staring at it with tears in his eyes that he doesn’t notice Regulus walking towards him with a soft, knowing smile on his face. He doesn’t say anything, just kisses his husband’s cheek as he drops today’s note in the box along with the others.

How would the ROs feel about the MC making them little lunches in the morning, complete with cutesy notes in their lunchbox?
I just want to spoil all the bb's 🥺
ira: 🥰 its everything they ever wanted. also, thank god someone is making them eat normal food and not like, sixteen applesauces and a slim jim. keeps every single note in a shoebox or a little scrapbook
val: io, banned from the kitchen, had better not be making anything more complicated than a pbj. putting notes in Val's already prepared food will go a lot better lmao. doesn't keep the notes but does have their favorites memorized
klaus: smh, you know he pays someone to make his food, right? you're stealing jobs, here. but don't ever stop. he keeps the best of the notes somewhere in his desk
connie: grumbles something about how they're an adult and can make their own lunches, but if Io really wants to, who are they to argue? tends to completely forget to take it with them and has to scarf it down later before Io finds out
kat: i can't imagine kat with a lunchbox. actually ic an't imagine kat eating. i think she feeds off other people's annoyance like an energy vampire. that said, she opens that note every morning like it's the daily newspaper
