Jenny Han confirmed Kitty from "XO Kitty" and "To All The Boys" is bisexual on her tiktok. In the show the character herself speak openly to her father she has feeling for boys and girls but she isn't sure if she is pan or bi.

We Deserve Monuments by Jas Hammonds is a vivid, beautiful novel, put together perfectly, that combines YA coming-of-age story with simmering southern gothic mystery. Young pansexual Avery sticks out like a sore thumb as one of the only Black girls at the "good school" in Bardell, Georgia. She doesn't know why her family is even here—years after her mom fled the town for good, they're back to see her dying grandmother, but the two women do nothing but fight. But once she's adopted by Simone and Jade, and begins to sow small seeds of connection with Mama Letty, Avery starts to carve out something like a comfort with Bardell. Unfortunately, getting to know Bardell will mean getting to know its secrets.
Hammonds brings into rich, crystalline tension the way that small towns hold onto their secrets, with combinations of open rumor and rigid silences. Their characters are vivid and complex people who you can see as you read, and it enhances the heartbreaks, the tears, and the hugs that come in these pages. From the clumsy web of being queer and Black to the violence of generational trauma and how it's passed down, this book is layer upon layer of story, and yet it's easy to read—in fact, it's near-impossible to put down, and I gulped it down like a frosty iced tea on a hot humid summer day, all in one long, savoring chug. It's a powerful book about both family and friendship, about facing a difficult past with eyes wide open and also about finding new pocket-spaces where you feel accepted and at home.
It gets one of my dearest compliments to a book, because it's rare and usually speaks to the writer's talent: it made me want to write. It sparked that creative rush, and made me want to tell another story. To cap it all off, I loved the pansexual representation, and the book was part of my list of nonbinary/gender non-conforming authors to read this Pride Month.
Content warnings for racism, police brutality, violence, terminal illness, sexual harassment, emotional abuse, homophobia, outing.

Here's something I don't like. As soon as a woman goes out with another woman, she is considered a lesbian, even if she went out with a man before.
Why is she not considered bi or pan? Obviously, she can identify as a lesbian, but why do we focus on the non-stright part of her sexual identity?
This is the same if the genders were swapped.
Freddie Mercury is famous for being gay, but he went out with a woman. So did he *actually* identify as gay, or did he consider himself bi and we've just put a label on him?

This is one of the best romances that I’ve read this year! It had a slow-burn, true enemies-to-lovers plot with cosplay rivals. The fact that both Edward and Izzy were petty assholes to each with snarky banter and hate sex thrown in?! I was living for them! I honestly loved Edward and Izzy and would read an entire series just about them and their cosplay adventures. The entire time I was reading this book I couldn’t help but be reminded of another set of characters. It took a while to figure out who exactly they reminded me of and when I did, it was so obvious. They gave me Legolas/Gimli vibes! And the second I had this realization I could not stop smiling, mostly because I could just imagine them in LOTR cosplay.
I loved that Edward and Izzy’s relationship was so slow to change. I was living for the petty comments and then for the way those comments changed into something softer and more teasing. I loved the fact that once Edward explained his relationship with Izzy to his best friend, he had this complete realization of just how in love he was. And I can’t forget the cosplay aspect! That was just so unique and unexpected as a backdrop for this romance to take place.
This was just such a fun read and I can’t recommend it enough! If you love nerdy romances, this is the series for you. Charisma Check is getting a solid five stars.

"She-Ra is bad bisexual rep because all the bi/pan characters end up in m/f relationships!"
Not true! Perfuma is bi/pan and she ends up with Scorpia!
"Oh, well I like to headcanon Perfuma as a lesbian."
...so then you understand that's not the show's fault, right? That that's just a problem you made up in your head?
-
Excuse me a second, I need to scream about this...
Because this has come up over and over (esp on Twitter and TikTok) with people who want to claim that every bi/pan SPOP character ends up in a m/f relationship... by conveniently pretending Perfuma is not canonically bi/pan herself. And every time they are asked to elaborate why they are ignoring her canon status, they give the same answer: that they consider Perfuma a lesbian because now that she's with a woman, she's "not bi anymore"
And... yeah... you know that's not how it works, right? That being bi/pan is not just a phase you get over? That a bi/pan woman dating another woman doesn't suddenly make her a lesbian any more than it makes a bi/pan person dating someone of the opposite gender magically straight?
The person you are currently dating does not change your bi/pan status. Ever. And insisting it does, especially just so you can score some points by making up an issue about a show to be mad about, is super GD harm harmful to the real bi/pan people in your life.
(This is the exact same thing The Owl House fandom does with Lumity and why Dana had to make Luz present a whole slideshow in the cartoon reminding everyone she is still very much bi even though Amity is a lesbian. TOH fans kept insisting because Luz is dating Amity now, she's a lesbian. Nope. Her and Amity can be married for a billion years and that wouldn't change Luz's orientation.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"But I heard that someone's roommate's cousin who worked with someone on the show once liked a fanart that showed Scorfuma with the lesbian flag so it's basically canon!"
First of all, the legend of this grows daily and I think it's really telling that this archival obsessed fandom only talks about this mythical like and yet has never been able to produce a single screenshot of it.
But for the sake of argument, let's say that this really happened and actually exists, that someone related to the show, however distantly, liked fanart once that implied Perfuma was a lesbian somehow. That still doesn't make it canon. People related to the show and even ND himself have liked and reblogged all sorts of stuff that isn't canon, including g/a, and have been very clear that the only canon is what happens within the show itself.
And, in the show, Perfuma is canonically bi/pan. We see her crushing on Bow, She-Ra, Huntara and Scorpia. The fact that people want to pretend the Bow thing never happened when he's the only character we see her actually date over the run of the show AND it's a major Season 1 plot point is wild to me and just shows the lengths people will go for bi/pan erasure.
And I get that some people enjoy using Perfuma to tell a story about comphet or coming out as a lesbian later in life and I am fully in favor of doing your thing with your headcanons in fanworks. But when it reaches the point it has now where fans are attacking other fans for saying Perfuma is bi/pan or attacking the show for not having any bi/pan character in same sex relationships when Perfuma is CANONICALLY bi/pan is ridiculous.
Keep in mind that your headcanon is literally just something you made up in your head. It's pretend. Fun, yes, but NOT something you can use as justification to attack people over!
Especially when it's something like this that causes real world harm by perpetuating harmful stereotypes about bi/pan people being "just a phase" or a temporary state that changes based on who you date.

The song "I'm Afraid Of Americans" by David Bowie just started playing on the radio and oh how fitting that is what with the entire KOSA bill situation. It's just so fucking frustrating that some people can manage to be so arrogant and cruel and truely disgusting towards those who have done nothing wrong, who simply just exist.
Do I deserve death for cutting my hair and wearing "masculine" clothing? Do I deserve to be kicked out onto the streets to fend for myself when I am not able because I showed affection to someone with the same genitals as mine? Do I deserve to be abused and assaulted just because I am different? Just because I do not follow your cruel, useless ways of living? Because I am the youth the future is soon to be in my hands, no longer yours? Bullshit, I say. I've hurt no one by dressing differently. I've caused no harm by loving anyone who I happen to love. There's not one damn thing wrong with it.
This bill, if passed, will result only in suffering, violence and death. I am scared. No, I'm fucking terrified. Not for myself from my parents, for I am lucky to live in a very accepting family, but there are many who are not as lucky as I. Some may even die. I fear for them. I fear for the future. I fear for what may happen if things continue to get worse.
If it passes though, I'm afraid to stand up. I'm not afraid to stand up for those who can't quite stand up for themselves, I'm not afraid to riot in the streets and show the world what I am capable of, I'm damn well not afraid to scream and shout as I fight with blood on my face, whether it be my own or someone else's.
If we aren't able to learn from history, than history is bound to repeat itself. We got our rights by fighting and we'll continue to fight with more than just our words if that's what it takes. I am young and I've committed no crime, so just let me live. Let me express myself, because I've hurt no one, or rather, no one that hasn't hurt me first.
VOTE TO STOP KOSA, CALL YOUR REPS, DO EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO STOP THIS BILL FROM PASSING. IF IT DOES PASS, MORE HARM WILL BE DONE THAN GOOD.

This is one of my favorite books in this series! I mean all of them are fantastic, but this one got to me in a different way then the others did. I loved everything about this one and I just wanted to live between its pages. One of the things that I really loved about this one was that we got a pansexual main character! And really in general, this series has been one of the best for having a huge variety of lgbtq+ characters. Especially the ones that don’t have a lot of representation.
Kris was so lovely throughout this whole book even with all the shit that got piled on him. I hated every time someone posted something about him that was out of context or just a straight up lie or when he was outed by the media. I’m just glad he had Rory to lean on. And Rory was a literal ray of sunshine! Even after breaking his leg in the dumbest way possible. He deserves all the waffles and cuddle he could ever want. I loved that he was able to lean on Kris when he was hurting. I also really liked that we got to explore Rory’s childhood memories, both good (his big brother’s best friend {Kris} standing up for him, painting miniature trains, hockey) and the bad (bullying to the point of having to move schools). I also loved that we got to see Kris building his charity and all the struggles that came with it.
This book was just lovely. I swear, each book in this series is better than the next. And I can’t wait to see what else is in store for this series. Two-Man Team is getting five stars from me! 😊
