This is one of the best romances that I’ve read this year! It had a slow-burn, true enemies-to-lovers plot with cosplay rivals. The fact that both Edward and Izzy were petty assholes to each with snarky banter and hate sex thrown in?! I was living for them! I honestly loved Edward and Izzy and would read an entire series just about them and their cosplay adventures. The entire time I was reading this book I couldn’t help but be reminded of another set of characters. It took a while to figure out who exactly they reminded me of and when I did, it was so obvious. They gave me Legolas/Gimli vibes! And the second I had this realization I could not stop smiling, mostly because I could just imagine them in LOTR cosplay.
I loved that Edward and Izzy’s relationship was so slow to change. I was living for the petty comments and then for the way those comments changed into something softer and more teasing. I loved the fact that once Edward explained his relationship with Izzy to his best friend, he had this complete realization of just how in love he was. And I can’t forget the cosplay aspect! That was just so unique and unexpected as a backdrop for this romance to take place.
This was just such a fun read and I can’t recommend it enough! If you love nerdy romances, this is the series for you. Charisma Check is getting a solid five stars.

i’ve pushed myself to read more sapphic literature this year, so here are some of my favs:
mistakes were made by meryl wilsner - spicy! age gap! secret relationship! this was one of the best books i read this year, i devoured it in just a few days. delicious smuttiness
sorry, bro by taleen voskuni - bi girls in love <3 super fun, lighthearted read with beautiful armenian representation.
we do what we do in the dark by michelle hart - this one is a lot heavier and, ahem, darker. another age gap and some angst but there’s a happy ending!
when katie met cassidy by camille perri - this one is about first-time sapphic revelations which i loved, really easy to read too.
one last stop by casey mcquiston - if you look past the occasional cringy millennial quip, this book is so fun and heartwarming. kinda sci-fi too?
honorable mention for the priory of the orange tree by samantha shannon - not strictly dedicated to a sapphic love story (it’s a giant fantasy novel first), but so worth a read. one of the queen’s handmaidens is an undercover sorceress sent to protect her and they fall in loooove.

So, I am starting something :3
This is something that I do for fun, something that really makes me happy. I love researching specific sapphic books and I love it when people ask me for recommendations. As the sapphic books were not really popular before, and still are very few in the market compare to other books, I know how hard it is to find the specific book you want to read, the specific book you feel represented in.
That's the main reason I started this account—to help people find the books they want to read. But since starting and seeing some growth, I've had MANY people asking for recommendations.
Most of the time, it's easy to find, but sometimes it's challenging, for example, these are few of the requests I received recently:
A sapphic book set in London in the '90s
A romcom with trans joy as the main theme, something similar to Ashley H. Herring’s books.
A sapphic book with bi mc, set in a Turkic states
I do a lot of research while making my lists, including authors and publishers, looking into trigger warnings, and reading reviews on Goodreads and StoryGraph to understand potential issues with the books, if any.
Sometimes, I even reach out to authors personally to ask about their books. It's very time-consuming, but it is also something that brings me joy.
Considering the effort involved, I'm thinking of monetizing this by offering specific book recommendations through Ko-fi commissions, starting from only $2. This way, people can get recommendations tailored to their exact preferences, and I can receive compensation for my hard work. Of course, free recommendations will still be available for those who cannot pay.
Here are the links for my commission work. If you want specific recommendations, please reach out to me first, and we will discuss if I can find you the books on that theme or not. I'll do my best to find the books you're looking for. If successful, you can then purchase the commission, and I'll send you the books.

This is one of my favorite books in this series! I mean all of them are fantastic, but this one got to me in a different way then the others did. I loved everything about this one and I just wanted to live between its pages. One of the things that I really loved about this one was that we got a pansexual main character! And really in general, this series has been one of the best for having a huge variety of lgbtq+ characters. Especially the ones that don’t have a lot of representation.
Kris was so lovely throughout this whole book even with all the shit that got piled on him. I hated every time someone posted something about him that was out of context or just a straight up lie or when he was outed by the media. I’m just glad he had Rory to lean on. And Rory was a literal ray of sunshine! Even after breaking his leg in the dumbest way possible. He deserves all the waffles and cuddle he could ever want. I loved that he was able to lean on Kris when he was hurting. I also really liked that we got to explore Rory’s childhood memories, both good (his big brother’s best friend {Kris} standing up for him, painting miniature trains, hockey) and the bad (bullying to the point of having to move schools). I also loved that we got to see Kris building his charity and all the struggles that came with it.
This book was just lovely. I swear, each book in this series is better than the next. And I can’t wait to see what else is in store for this series. Two-Man Team is getting five stars from me! 😊
