Important
KOSA is coming back and it has gotten more support than ever. The bill has recently gained support from companies such as Twitter, Snapchat, and Microsoft. If this bill continues to gain more and more bipartisan support, the chances of it passing are going to increase. If this bill passes, everyone’s private information is going to be at a high risk and, depending on which state you’re in, very important topics are going to be wiped off of the face of the internet and free speech won’t be an option.
Please, call your senators, send your senators an email, or send a physical letter to your senators. We need to continue fighting and put an end to this dogshit bill.

*Peter in Medbay and extremely concussed*
Peter: What is a hero without a villain? Useless. What is a villain without a hero? Successful.
Tony: ...Okay?
Peter: We should all be villains.
Tony: I hate to break it to you Pete, but you're actually a superhero
Peter: I'M A SUPERHERO!? I GOTTA TELL NED!

long post warning sorry
So I hope everyone knows about KOSA. If you don’t, its basically a bill that will let the US government censor a shitload of stuff like LGBTQ communities, wars, etc. from minors among other harmful things. If this passes, I will probably be making a new account and/or not having one permanently. I just want to say for the past few months, I have had a fucking blast on this platform. It has made me much more comfortable with myself, and let me meet some really awesome people. I love all of my moots, and wish you all luck in the coming months.

Also if you want to stay private online,
1) NO SHARING PERSONAL DETAILS WITH ANYONE OR ANYTHING
2) Use a private browser like firefox or librewolf
3) Do not put your phone number in anything
4) Dont use google (I suggest duck duck go)
5) Do not let things access your location, camera, microphone, hhtml canvas data, anything
6) If you have an android phone that has an unlockable bootloader (ddg it) look into grapheneOS

BBC News: Transgender guidance: Schools to keep parents informed
BBC News - Transgender guidance: Schools to keep parents informed
So the British Government has banned transitioning for children in all but name:
Schools do not have to accept a child's request to socially transition
Teachers or pupils should not be pressured into using different pronouns
Teachers do not have a general duty to allow pupils to socially transition...ensuring parents are fully consented before any decision is taken
Changes should be carried out sensitively without implying contested views around gender identity are fact
Teaching staff, pupils and parents will also be told they do not have to observe a child's chosen name or pronouns if they hold protected religious or other beliefs
Toilets, changing rooms and some sports should be separated based a child's birth sex
Must not allow a child aged 11 or older to change or wash in front of a child of the opposite sex
Primary school children (11 and under) should not have different pronouns to their sex
Hold gender questioning children to the same uniform standard as other children of their sex
Record the name and biological sex of every pupil in the admissions register
What the actual fuck? What are these kids allowed to do? They can't use pronouns, names or clothing and if they're under 11 they can't even admit to being transgender! What is this government's problem with trans people? There's so few of them!
And why are we recording the contents of everyone's pants in the register? In case we forget? Seriously what purpose does that serve?

The song "I'm Afraid Of Americans" by David Bowie just started playing on the radio and oh how fitting that is what with the entire KOSA bill situation. It's just so fucking frustrating that some people can manage to be so arrogant and cruel and truely disgusting towards those who have done nothing wrong, who simply just exist.
Do I deserve death for cutting my hair and wearing "masculine" clothing? Do I deserve to be kicked out onto the streets to fend for myself when I am not able because I showed affection to someone with the same genitals as mine? Do I deserve to be abused and assaulted just because I am different? Just because I do not follow your cruel, useless ways of living? Because I am the youth the future is soon to be in my hands, no longer yours? Bullshit, I say. I've hurt no one by dressing differently. I've caused no harm by loving anyone who I happen to love. There's not one damn thing wrong with it.
This bill, if passed, will result only in suffering, violence and death. I am scared. No, I'm fucking terrified. Not for myself from my parents, for I am lucky to live in a very accepting family, but there are many who are not as lucky as I. Some may even die. I fear for them. I fear for the future. I fear for what may happen if things continue to get worse.
If it passes though, I'm afraid to stand up. I'm not afraid to stand up for those who can't quite stand up for themselves, I'm not afraid to riot in the streets and show the world what I am capable of, I'm damn well not afraid to scream and shout as I fight with blood on my face, whether it be my own or someone else's.
If we aren't able to learn from history, than history is bound to repeat itself. We got our rights by fighting and we'll continue to fight with more than just our words if that's what it takes. I am young and I've committed no crime, so just let me live. Let me express myself, because I've hurt no one, or rather, no one that hasn't hurt me first.
VOTE TO STOP KOSA, CALL YOUR REPS, DO EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO STOP THIS BILL FROM PASSING. IF IT DOES PASS, MORE HARM WILL BE DONE THAN GOOD.

Hey trans and nonbinary folks, you have every right to be angry btw. You SHOULD be angry. It’s okay that you feel hurt, scared, and absolutely full of RAGE. The world is a scary place for us right now, shit- even some ppl in our own community have turned their backs on us. But please don’t give up. You deserve to live peacefully and to be surrounded by love, you just have to stick around long enough to see it happen. So please- I beg you- stay. It will get better, and we will not give up.
And a little reminder, there is NO lgb without the t. You have trans people (especially trans women) to thank for everything positive you have as a queer person. Be fucking grateful.

I had heard nothing about KOSA until I started scrolling today. All I've seen is negativity and earth-shattering consequences. I've found a few petitions to sign, and I'd strongly encourage you to do the same.
If you have any info on KOSA, reblog so other people can become educated on this, I for one would love to be as educated as possible on the subject.
This bill could end lives, we need to do as much as possible to stop it.

I spent every night of the last three years counting my new babies' breaths. Because sometimes, babies just slip away.
These babies, children, people aren't slipping away. They're being taken away.
By bombs.
By genocide.
By Israel.
Funded by the United States government.

absolutely wild to me that your whole life is defined by exams you took when you were seventeen. their brains are not even fully developed yet. please pick a lane, adults. you dismiss their words. you call young people stupid and unable or not old enough to have good opinions or make choices or participate in the choosing of their own futures and yet you define their futures by one little test. well guess what an exam has a fuckton of choices and if they can't be trusted to have an opinion on their own lives then maybe they can't be trusted to make academic choices on a test either. either you give us a voice or you will not hear until it's too late

heya charlie boy, quick thought: instead of inviting NHS workers to have special seats to watch the procession, why don’t you NOT be king and give them the pay they deserve instead? hm?
