Wally, Darling ♥ [Part 4]
[Rest]
Wally Darling x F! Archi! Reader
(Some domestic fluff again! I wanted to post the proposal and the wedding chapters first before going back to domesticity, but I couldn't seem to like anything I wrote at all and I just kept redoing everything and everything. So unfortunately, the proposal and wedding chapters are going to have to be late because I am stressed out (we'll be going back to our usual classes and I'm not really looking forward to it). So for comfort, I made this and yeah, hope you enjoy!)
(unedited, so forgive me for any grammar mistakes and spelling problems)

Everything was quiet. Save for the sounds of heavy rainfall hitting against the glass of Home’s windows and the crackling of fire from the fireplace in front of her, it’s warmth saving her from the coldness of the air on this rainy day.
She was basically face first into the couch as she lay on it, her whole body exhausted and unwilling to move even the slightest after an entire day of helping out the neighborhood with whatever it was they needed help with. And there were so many things that needed to be done.
The sound of the door opening and then closing brings her attention to the footsteps that echoed, already familiar with the sound that slowly approached her on the sofa before he even spoke.
“Someone’s exhausted,” he chuckled, and despite the monotonous sound of his voice, she could hear the slightest bit of a tease in his tone, and she could only let out a grumble of a response, not really in the mood to do anything but lay down. She could feel the softness of Wally’s fingers graze her cheek, tucking the hair that fell on her face behind her ear and then pressing a gentle kiss on her temple, the gesture enough to make her stomach twist and turn as a small smile finally tugged at her lips.
“There’s that smile I’ve been looking for,” Wally hummed, “Do you want me to bring you anything from the kitchen?”
It took her a while to think of anything that would be good to drink or eat, “A cup of coffee would be nice.”
“Hm,” Wally thought, “No.”
“What?” She peeked one eye up at him, and he was staring down at her, unblinking as he usually was.
“Coffee makes you stay up late at night, and right now that’s the opposite of what you should be doing.” He gives a small smile, “I don’t want you passing out from exhaustion.”
“I’m not going to, I promise,” she sighed, slowly pushing herself up to sit. “And besides, coffee doesn’t affect me that much anymore.”
Wally gave her a look. A knowing look. “That’s what you said last time. And then you proceeded to be up until 3 AM, worrying about your projects.” The worry in his eyes were evident, and she could feel the tug of guilt pulling at her heartstrings at the thought of ever worrying him like this. Home seemed to back him up on that thought, the sounds of creaks and squeaks of complaints from the floor and cabinets echoing in the room.
She sighed, placing a hand against her aching temple as Wally moves to sit beside her on the couch, letting her lean her whole body against him so he could wrap an arm around her in some sort of embrace.
“I’m sorry,” she huffed. “I don’t know. Coffee helps me think, and right now all I’m getting is blank and I can’t move my body at all and I have so much left to do—”
She feels him squeeze her shoulder in reassurance, cutting her off from her rant and once again letting her body succumb to the comforting warmth of his own.
“It’s alright,” he leans his head against her shoulder. “That just means you need to let yourself take a break. Don’t overwork yourself too much, okay?”
She was about to protest, but was immediately cut off by a sudden peck on the lips that moved to her cheek. And she couldn’t help the laugh that escaped as Wally brings her face in between his hands to continue pecking at her face like she usually does with him.
“Alright! Alright!”
Now that made him stop, and she carefully moves to wipe at her face, still giggling under her breath. And he looked more than satisfied at finally making her laugh.
“Now, do you still want anything from the kitchen?” He asked yet again, and she took his hand in her own, giving it a gentle squeeze.
“Nah,” she sighs, letting her eyes close. “Just stay here with me?”
Wally only hummed in confirmation, letting her wrap her arms around his form before bringing the both of them down on the sofa together. It didn’t take long at all for her to fall asleep, and not a minute after that, Wally decided to follow, eyes falling shut and letting the warmth of his darling and the sound of her light snores lull him to sleep.

Morning meetings aren't necessarily Atle's favourite part of his weekly schedule but he doesn't think anyone enjoys them really. He sips on his cup of coffee as he listens to one of their coaches briefing them one last time on how the guy who's setting today's course usually sets them to benefit his skiers. There's a tap against his toes and Atle turns his face away from the coach to face the boy opposite of him. Lucas keeps on looking at their coach in front of the whiteboard.
Atle too taps him with his own foot and a small smile forms on Lucas' lips though he keeps looking straight ahead at their coach, so Atle turns his face back at him as well. Lucas' foot keeps touching his underneath the table, brushes up and down Atle's calf and it takes every bit of strength within him to focus on anything but where Lucas' body is touching his.
Their team doesn't know, neither Lucas nor him are ready for them to do so. None of them know that Lucas' foot his touching his leg right now, they don't know that Atle woke up with a still fast asleep Lucas in his arms. They don't know that this simple touch underneath the table is giving Atle butterflies in his stomach.
Atle looks at Lucas again when he sees him move in the corner of his eyes. He's taking off the dark blue feece jacket that he's been wearing all morning. Lucas had disappeared into his own room after having spent the night at Atle's before they went downstairs to get breakfasts and grab coffee before the meeting. Lucas walked out of his hotelroom with the jacket on and hasn't taken it off until now.
It takes a few second for Atle's brain to process the view in front of him and when he does he gulps. Underneath his fleece jacket, Lucas is wearing his shirt. It's the same one he's worn last night when the two of them went out for a couple of drinks. It's the same shirt Lucas had taken off him when they were back at the hotel. It takes all of Atle's concentration not to stare at the way his shirt fits around Lucas' chest or the way the sleeves hug the muscles of his arms. There is no way he can focus on their coach now.
When the meeting is over, Atle only remembers a fraction of what he's been told but he feels like he could paint a picture of Lucas wearing his shirts with his eyes closed. They leave the room, Lucas before him and followed by several of their teammates. It takes Atle a solid three minutes to catch up with him and another five minutes for them to be far enough away from everyone else to talk.
"What the fuck?", it's not the most creative opener to a conversation Atle has ever come up with but he really means it. Lucas looks confused.
"What do you mean 'what the fuck'?"
"What mission were you on just now? The whole foot thing under the table? And that's my shirt, isn't it?"
"I, uh-", Lucas scratches the back of his head and has the audacity to blush. "I just wanted to, uh, show affection? I tried to be subtle, I swear"
"That explains the foot thing. What about my shirt?"
"It smelled like you"
Atle tries to hide a gasp by forcefully keeping his mouth shut. It comes out a very harsh huff through his nose. Lucas' face goes from confused to realisation to a mean grin.
"Are you into that?"
"I- uh, I'm- No?", Atle stutters and he doesn't even believe himself. Lucas throws his head back laughing and Atle's face changes into a crimson red.
"Ah, you're really something", Lucas laughs as he ruffles through Atle's hair, presses a small kiss to his temple and then thankfully changes the topic.
It's when they're back in Atle's hotel bed after the race when Lucas leans down to his ear to whisper "FYI, I also stole a pair of your boxers"
Atle moans.

It's been almost a month since the day I met Crystal. Almost a month since I gained the courage to talk to her. And now I'm getting ready in my bathroom trying to determine how to ask her. How to confront her. I spent weeks believing she was so amazing and now? Now im trying to come to terms with the idea she's not what I made her up to be.
I sip from my water bottle, half dead since I decided against my morning coffee, and step out my front door and lock it.
Pulling into the coffee shop parking lot my stomach twists in painful knots. I think I might fucking throw up. I pull down my visor and check my hair to stall for a few seconds, taking a small breather to soothe myself. After my deep breaths, I make my way to the entrance and my palms start sweating when I see her through the glass.
I pull it open and she beckons me to her table and I force a nervous smile before sitting across from her.
"Hey! I was just about to order. What would you like, love?" She chirps.
I flinch a bit at the pet name. Almost feeling like it's an arrow in my arm, painful and damaging but I'll heal. I tell her my order and she pops over to the counter to get the coffee.
She returns soon enough with my coffee, ordered warm this time, and hers in both hands. She places mine in front of me on the table and I thank her and wrap my fingers around the warm cup.
An awkward silence hovers over us as we stare at our drinks.
"Levi told me what you said." "So how are you?" We say at the same time.
"Wait what?" She recoils
I pull in a breath and slowly exhale the words, "Levi texted me and told me what you said."
Her confusion almost convinces me of her innocence but I really need to know for sure. This isn't fueled by emotion, I need to know if I can trust her as a friend.
A realization rises in her eyes and her jaw locks, "What'd I say?"
The ice in her voice sends chills up my back. "Well first off, he told me you thought I was not only annoying but that I was throwing myself at you? We both know that I've actually been avoiding you. OH! Not to mention you thought it was creepy that I liked you?" My throat constricts from my anger.
I look at her hoping for an explanation but she just looks confused again.
"Can I see the texts?" The ice has melted into sadness as she looks at me with an expression I've never seen on anyone before.
I pull up the messages and she swallows down the lump it creates in her throat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her eyes stay locked on the messages, reading them again and again. "I would never say this." She says matter-of-factly.
I stare at her in mild shock as she looks up at me. She sees me and looks back a down at my phone before shaking her head.
She passes my phone back, "I never said any of that ever."
My eyes burn from tears but I swallow my emotions and they tear at my throat on the way down. "How do I know that?" I ask, my voice low and almost whispered.
"Y/N I value your friendship. So much. I would never betray your trust. Not to mention I'm not straight either so why on earth would I find it creepy? Levi knows that too I-" Her hands fly up and she chokes on her words, " He did that just to ruin our relationship because he-" Her eyes widen and she almost frantically looks over to the door before looking back at me.
"I have to go but I'll talk to you later. I have to go berate a grown man." Flames burn in her eyes and she skids her chair out from under the table, a deafening screech bounces on the walls as she does so.
Without another word, she takes her coffee and leaves.

Good Morning Mystic
Well I got a solid 3 hours of sleep and now I’m off to the grill for that coffee. I’m definitely gonna need it if I plan on finding out what’s going on in this town…
Walking into town I noticed Bonnie, Elena and some guy I hadn’t met yet standing in the town center. They were deep in what looked like a serious conversation. I decided to eavesdrop, I know I shouldn’t but I just could not help myself, after all I am trying to uncover whatever this town is hiding right? I got close enough to hear but not close enough to be spotted.
“I’m serious Elena, she’s like me I could feel it.” Bonnie stated frantically trying to prove her point.
“What do you mean exactly you could feel it?” The unknown guy with freakishly good hair asked.
“Well we sat down right and it felt almost like a vibration of energy between us. If she is like me then she could definitely feel it too. There is no way she could ignore something that strong.”
Wait was she talking about me? She had to have been because that’s the same thing I felt when we were having dinner the other night. But what does she mean I’m like her? I decided it was time to blow my cover.
“Bonnie! Elena! Hey what’s up?” I acted surprised walking over to them.
“Hey Jess we were just out and about. It’s good to see you again” Elena stated very genuinely.
“Yeah it’s good to see you guys to. I just came to get some much needed caffeine.”
“Well the grills got the best coffee you can get in town. Oh gosh I’m so sorry, this is Stefan my boyfriend.”
“Hey it’s so nice to meet you I’m Jessica” I stuck my hand out to shake. He gave me a curious/weird stare for a few seconds before smiling and stating it was nice to meet me to. I couldn’t shake the feeling I got when we shook hands. All I felt was…well death. After this we parted ways and the continued with hushed chatter as I crossed the street to the grill. I turned back as I opened the door. Just as I could feel, they were all staring at me.. what in the hell is going on.
I walked into the grill only to be met with those familiar blue eyes from the their day. Matt was working again. I walked up to the bar and grabbed a seat. “I hope you don’t plan on drinking before noon, it’s not that bad here is it?” Matt was clearly joking and we both laughed. “Nope just need lots of caffeine in my system unfortunately.” I replied. He gave me a smile and started pouring me a large cup of coffee. He slide it my way and I replied with a small thank you.
“So how are you liking it here so far?”
“I love it so far, although…” I pondered my nexts words.
“It’s a little strange here. I feel like everyone knows something I don’t.” I laughed nervously. I watched him careful. His face got so serious.
“Yeah tell me about it, seems like most of my friends have so much more than just school and parties going on, if you know what I mean. But that’s just how it is here, a lot is kept quiet I guess.” He knew exactly what I was talking about I mean he didn’t even question it for a second. He related to how I was feeling which immediately told me I definitely wasn’t going to get any answer from him. We talked a bit more before the morning rush came in then I just grabbed my coffee and decided to explore town for a bit.
The air was cool with a slight breeze that sent shivers down my spine, but it was more than that. With each step I felt the uneasiness grow, there was a large pit in my stomach. As I turned the corner I bumped into someone and my now half full cup of coffee fell to the ground.
“Shit sorry I wasn’t paying attention.” I looked up at the unknown person only to see a familiar face.
“Elena hey again” I laughed but then I noticed she look completely different from when I just saw her almost an hour ago.
“Decided you didn’t like the outfit you were wearing?” I questioned.
“Yeah I always look so drab.. thought I’d switch it up ya know. Anyways got to go see you around” she hurried off. Seeming as though she wanted to be anywhere else than in a conversation with me right now. Makes sense I guess like I said I’ve never been a girls girl. I managed to scare off the only friends I’ve made in only a matter of a few days of being in town. Greaaat.

Prompt 7
MC accidentally touches a book in Satan’s room that casts an illusion over them both that shows MC’s greatest dreams coming true. What are they, how does MC react, can MC get out?
(because I'm a massive d&d nerd, i changed the book up. 1d10 scenes/moments relating to what would be MC's best life/greatest dream. can be activated 1x/day, if it was truly an item in a tabletop game, i'd probably put it as like a DC18 wisdom save.)

Kai shot awake in a bed that was not his own, heart galloping in his chest as he muffled a yelp of terror into the pillow. Eyes wide, he scrambled into a sitting position, trying not to hyperventilate.
(i can feel silk against my legs. i can see a partially open closet. i can smell - )
The process was interrupted as a figure appeared by the divider, dressed casually and holding a cup.
(i can smell coffee)
"Hey, you're awake. Welcome back.", the voice was strangely gentle, lacking its usual brassy bravado. Mammon offered the cup. "Thought you could use this."
Kai offered a hint of a smile as he tried to piece together his fuzzy mind. He cupped the mug in both hands, the porcelain hot enough to burn his palms as he closed his eyes, inhaling deeply before taking a long drink. The liquid seared a path down his throat, heat pooling in his stomach. The coffee was bitter, but not overly-so.
"Thanks, Mammon." Kai looked up at the demon through his lashes, taking stock of the situation. "Did...?"
A rapid shake of his head made Kai laugh softly. "N-no, no. I slept on the couch.", he stammered, blushing.
"You didn't have to."
A gentle scoff. "You made that pretty clear."
Another sip of coffee. "Next time you can believe me.", he raised his eyes, waiting for the reaction.
Mammon's mouth worked soundlessly, opening and closing a few times. Kai put the cup down, rubbing his heated palms over his face. As he pulled them away, he was surprised to see no trace of the heavy makeup he wore last night staining the skin. "Thank you. For not making me go back -", Kai's throat closed, refusing to utter the word home. "There."
"Y-yeah, ya seemed pretty stubborn about it. I dunno what's goin' on, but uh, you can always hang out. Or whatever."
Kai relaxed back against the headboard, nodding. "Okay. What time is it anyways?", with no windows in the room, it was always impossible to even guess.
"Almost 3. Humans need a lot of sleep, huh?"
"After a long night we do. Last thing I remember was...
(swirling projected lights, music loud enough to vibrate bones, dancing between the brothers sandwiched tightly, smoke and glitter caught on the air, hope, elation, want, desire, need)
the three of us dancing together."
Mammon nodded. "Yeah. We, all... we left a bit after that.", averted eyes, deeply flushed cheeks.
"So what did happen?", Kai brushed his fingers along Mammon's arm. He didn't flinch away, but didn't get closer. Net zero, no damage done.
Mammon looked down, words tumbling out quickly, in a single breath. "So, we got out to the car. You were all over both of us pretty fast. Ju- just like in the club, you were between us. You started talking, not like dirty talk or nothin', but you kept saying how much you missed that, missed us, begged us not to stop, and then after a few minutes broke down crying, saying somethin' like it didn't matter?", he shrugged, confused. "You sobbed the rest of the way home, and that kinda was that. We got you here, got you changed, and in to bed. I sat up with you for a while, you know, to make sure you didn't die or nothin', but you passed out pretty fast."
"Ah.", Kai stared down at his hands, pulse skyrocketing. "Fuck. I'm sorry. I need to apologize to Asmo too... really didn't mean to get sloppy last night. It just...," he broke off, sighing. "Fuck."
A long stretch of silence was broken only by the muffled sounds of the TV on the other side of the wall.
Mammon took Kai's hand in his own, squeezing it gently in lieu of a response.
"You know I wouldn't have been upset if everything had continued, right?"
The grip tightened, became almost painful. "We ain't been demons that long."
Kai made a sound intended to be a laugh, that came out entirely too choked. "LOT of demons in the human realm older than you then."
He was pulled into a tight embrace and simply held, wordlessly.
Kai slowly wrapped an arm around Mammon, leaning in to the hug. The silence this time was comfortable as it stretched. Kai pressed his forehead into Mammon's shoulder, grounding himself a bit more, waiting for the uneasy tremors to fade. There was a familiar buzz on the nearby table, and he flinched away from it with a groan.
"D'ya want me to get that?"
"No. Yes. No. Who is it?" Kai disentangled himself from the demon, reaching again for the coffee.
Mammon picked up the DDD, looking at the missed messages. "That one was Satan, says to stop by an' see him today. And... four from Solomon since about 10 this morning.", the demon's eyes grew wide as he skimmed over them. "Jeez, he think he owns you or what? Wait, who's Vyleon?"
Kai made a face over the rim of the cup. "Vyleon is the incubus who I assume is one of Solomon's 9000 pacts that he decided to send to the club last night to tell me to come home when I ignored his messages."
Mammon whistled low, "Yer shittin' me."
Kai shook his head. "Wish I was. Almost worked too."
"What stopped you?"
"Couple things - It was a big night for Asmo and I didn't want to vanish on him, and when Vyleon referred to the two of you as 'The Angels'. The disrespect pissed me off."
Mammon quirked an eyebrow in faint surprise. "Yer so loyal already." Kai gave a good-natured grumble as his hair was ruffled. "How come?"
The human lowered his eyes. "Same thing I said the other day. You're all like family to me. Know it sounds dumb, but," he paused, voice barely audible. "This is the only place I've ever felt at home."
"You really would stay forever, huh?"
Kai bit the inside of his cheek hard, nodding, not trusting his voice.
"Would be pretty great. Too bad you can't just..."
Kai shook his head. "Not allowed, for some stupid reason. Besides, Simeon & Luke are in the guest room."
Mammon sighed, flopping down across the foot of the bed.
"So, aside from you and Asmo, does anyone else know I'm here?"
"Not that I've heard. Wouldn't be surprised if someone saw us all come in though."
Kai nodded. It wouldn't be a surprise, somehow every moment in the house made the rounds. Grabbing his DDD, he tapped out a quick message: "Asmo, I'm so sorry for the way I ended up last night. Hope that I didn't wreck anything. I'm sorry. Please don't hate me."
The reply came quickly. "I'm not upset, nothing happened? You do need to take it easy though, darling~ visiting your housemate, talk later."
(that can be unpacked later)
After a quick shower and borrowing a clean shirt from Mammon,
("Yer swimmin' in that, but I got nothin' smaller.")
Kai texted Satan back.
"On my way, 20 minutes?"
That long? You're literally down the hall.
Well shit.
"Fine. Five."
I've waited this long. What's a bit longer?
Kai wandered over to Satan's door after a few minutes, knocking lightly.
The door cracked open, and the demon within gave a half-scowl before stepping aside with a gesture.
The biggest change was the lack of books piled along the floors, though the stacks of floor to ceiling shelves were nearly filled to bursting.
(look impressed, you haven't seen this, remember)
Kai gave the room a long appraising look, giving a soft smile. "This is fantastic. If you need more shelf room, I bet you could get a loft alcove up there." Kai pointed up towards a window in a high corner, where he knew that one day a very secluded nook would be.
"That's not a bad idea." Satan held himself tightly wound, arms crossed over his chest.
Kai offered a slight smile. "So, you needed your Attendant?"
"When did you start spending the night?"
Ah, direct as always. "Just last night. Got a bit too drunk at the Fall, they wanted to keep an eye on me."
Bright green eyes narrowed, pupils dilating like a cat's. Kai shrugged.
"You're kind of a wreck."
"Already said I drank too much."
"No. Not that. I mean in general." Satan sat down on an overstuffed wing back chair, crossing his long legs at the ankles.
Kai shrugged, giving another chair a glance, raising an eyebrow curiously. At a nod, he sat down, tucking one leg beneath himself. "Yes, and? I feel like there's more to that statement?"
Satan tapped his fingertips on the arm of the chair, frowning. "There was. I wasn't expecting you to agree."
"What am I going to do? Lie? I'm fucked up. I know that. No reason to hide it when it's obvious.", the human shifted in the chair, getting a bit more comfortable. This had the feel of A Discussion.
Wrath fixed him with a level stare. Kai stared back, refusing to look away first.
(don't flinch, don't look away, this is just a test, you've seen it play out a hundred times, don't fail, don't blink)
"So, did you just want me here to ask me indirectly if I'm fucking your brothers?"
A curl of the lip, almost a sneer twisted the demon's features, he glanced away.
(good job. you didn't break first)
"I'm not. For what it's worth. Yet, anyway."
"Surprising. How'd you manage that?"
"I'm my own worst enemy, and they're still a bit too holy to take advantage when I'm too far gone to know my own name."
Satan coughed, covering a surprised laugh.
"Really? I didn't think that would matter."
"Turns out the human here is worse than at least two of the Lords of the Devildom."
A look of morbid curiosity. "Hard to pin a moral judgment on the one making the offer."
"Precisely."
A short "hm" was the only response.
Kai waited a few moments. "Did you need anything else?"
"No. You confuse me."
It was the human's turn to look baffled. "I'm an open book."
(liar)
"Sometimes. But you tend to insinuate more than you say, and act as though we should understand whatever subtext you imply. The strangest part of it all though?", Satan leaned forward, features darkening. "For whatever reason, sometimes for just a split second, I understand exactly what you mean, but it's like trying to hold on to smoke. Why?"
Kai shrugged. "I can't begin to guess, really. Maybe somehow we are both on the same wavelength?"
The answer was met with a skeptical noise, and rolled eyes.
"You can go. This is pointless."
Nodding at the dismissal, Kai stood, turning towards the door.
"Hand me the book on the top stack to your left before you go."
The human shrugged, nodding as he picked up a heavy leather volume, intending to further irritate Satan by tossing it in his direction.
Two things happened at once.
A sudden alarmed exclamation, "Not that one!"
The room felt as though it twisted on its axis, Kai somehow standing in his own memory, a flash.
The guest room. As it used to, or would someday look. Kai saw himself sitting on the edge of the bed, a younger-seeming self, hair still dark and a single color, ears still blunt and human in appearance, with no bruises at his throat. He cradled his arm close to his chest as Mammon teased him about being accident prone, which was met with a shrug and a sheepish smile. He waited as Mammon and Beelzebub argued quietly about the best way to bandage a human's wrist.
Another shift..
The rhythmic clicking of a train. Deep burnished wood paneling appears as a hazy spectre of a woman comes into view, her voice distant and sad. "...know that one day in the future, he will lose all trust he has placed in you."
A flash.
Solomon's voice in the dark, "You have to act now, before it is too late. Listen carefully, if you want to live, you have to do this! This is the only way - hold this dagger as tight as you can, and thrust it deep into..." "This is the only way to stop it - you have to do this" A sob, and the vision shifts, dagger now pressed to his own chest, knuckles white around the handle, a trickle of blood staining the shirt as a mote of pain flares.
A shimmer.
The cafe of a large bookshop in the human world, sitting shoulder to shoulder with Satan, both heads bent over a large book. The conversation is lively, a friendly debate.
"Do you believe the sacrifice was one of love, anger, or sadness?"
"Does it have to be one exclusively? It seems so much more complex than.. "
A shift.
Luke and Barbatos in the kitchens of Purgatory Hall, chatting quietly as the demon showed the young angel a trick with pastry. There was a moment of delight as Luke mimicked the movement, nearly nailing the results perfectly. Kai paused to watch, on his way elsewhere in the building, smiling, happy.
A flash.
Lucifer's study, a fire roaring in the hearth. The demon himself looming larger than life, a predatory grin stretching across his face as an aura of power rippled around him, pressing the human's back to the wall. "Now listen, and listen well. I will not be your possession. I will not belong to you, you will belong to me." Lucifer stepped closer, the tip of one wing curving to trace along Kai's cheek. "Do you still want to make that pact with me?" The only answer was a soft moan, as trembling fingers wrapped tightly into starched lapels, the human surged up, pulling Lucifer into a deep kiss. A flare of blue violet light tinted the vision before the images dissolved.
A shimmer. A large guest room at the castle. The brothers, plus the Future King engaged in a raucous pillow fight, dividing in to teams and egging each other on, the competition dissolving into a feathery tableau. Laughter. Joy. Camaraderie.
The visions cleared, leaving only one lingering reminder, Solomon's voice once again, "Be careful Kai. Remember, you're less powerful now withou -"
The book hit the floor with a heavy thud.
Satan stared coldly at the human, a low growl echoing from his chest as his tail flicked with irritation.
Kai leaned heavily against the table, feeling as though the thoughts had been forcibly torn from his mind, trying to catch his breath before turning to face the demon sitting before him.
They spoke in unison.
"How are those your deepest wishes?"
"Why would you? Those are my memories."
It felt like time stopped as the two untangled each other's words.
"How can they be memories? That's ridiculous. None of that has ever happened." "No. N-not y...", Kai felt his throat close. "What?", the demon snapped "Did you say?"
The human let out an involuntary sound as he was pushed roughly back against the nearest shelves, bones rattling with the impact. As he began to curl in on himself, he felt a now-clawed hand snaking around his throat, in a near-perfect overlay of the damage already there. "S-stay.", the word was barely a croak, with no strength behind it. (looks like this is it, you aren't meant to last, no matter where, there's no way that will work....)
The fingers twitched at his throat, before falling away. Kai looked up into eyes he was unfamiliar with, pools of inky black with only the slightest pinpoint of vibrant green. "Leave.", the demon gritted out, the sound an unnatural rasp.
Kai scrambled away, unwilling to wait for so much as a second word. He fled, the sound of destruction behind him.

The sound of the door shutting can only mean one thing.
“Look what the cat dragged in,” you greet him, not turning around to face him.
“Sweetheart if you don’t learn to shut that pretty little mouth of yours, I’ll do it for you.”
Another snide remark, another sly smirk, and another roll of your eyes as Chris slides past you with a cup of tea in his hands.
“You couldn’t make me if you tried.” You spat back, narrowing your eyes at him as you watched him quirk an eyebrow; intrigued at your comment.
“Is that a challenge? Because you know I never back down from you.” He replies cooly, folding his arms over his chest before taking a sip of his hot drink.
“Ah yes, how could I forget,” you feign enthusiasm, “you’re a Gemini.” You deadpan and now it’s his turn to roll his eyes.
He kicks his foot off the wall behind him, “you didn’t answer my question, sweetheart.” He winks, brushing past your shoulder as you scoff.
He’s gonna out of your sight before you have the chance to say anything else, letting out an exasperated sigh as you will yourself to calm down.
“Hey!” Someone shouts through the trailer door, “can you run down to makeup for backup?” You don’t get to answer.
    “Thanks!”
Before whoever it was slammed the door shut and you let out another frustrated groan.
You knew what you signed up for, you weren’t head of makeup. You weren’t even assistant head. No, you were one of the nobodies.
Someone they hire to run from one end of set to the other only to get yelled at for not having enough brushes or the right shade of a palette.
    It was almost poetic.
“Hey, I’m here, what did you guys need?” You ask as you put on a fake smile and enter the makeup trailer.
The trailer where Chris is sat getting his hair done.
Your blood boiled, wasn’t he supposed to be a charmer? A sweetheart? Maybe he was just really getting into character?
“Can you sweep the floor and make sure there’s no more hair?”
You had to physically fight the urge to drop your face, “sure!”
You grabbed the broom, feeling embarrassed as you quietly sunk into the background as you felt Chris’ eyes on you.
A few medial, mind numbing tasks later and it was closing in on 2am. Your notification-less phone screen lit up the empty trailer you were left to clean up.
    Not that you really minded.
You find solace in the only time of the day where things seem to slow down. You also didn’t hate being alone where you could listen to music and clean hairbrushes.
“So this is what you do after we cut.” The sound of Chris’ laugh startles you as you let out a soft yelp.
He has a soft smile on his face, almost unrecognizable without his beard.
“I thought I was alone,” you reply meekly, turning the volume lower on your phone as Chris shook his head.
“Oh, I know,” he laughs, “I don’t think anyone would be belting out Queen like that if they didn’t think they were alone.”
Once again, you feel embarrassed in front of him, shaking your head.
“Whatever,” you try to brush it off. “Did you need something?” You ask as he shakes his head.
“I was just checkin’ in on you.” He replies and you’re a little taken aback.
“Oh, well thanks, but I’m okay. Just finishing up cleaning.” You said with a tight lipped smile and a nod of your head.
Chris stands there for a second, shoving his hands into his pockets as he looks over his shoulder before clearing his throat.
“Well uh, some of the cast and crew are havin’ some drinks and pizza later, if you wanted to tag along.”
The invite makes your stomach drop into your lower belly as you open your mouth.
You have to take a moment to formulate the words.
“It’s getting pretty late, I think I’m just gonna head back to my hotel room. Parties aren’t really my thing.” You joke, lightening the mood as Chris cracks a smile.
“Sure thing, sweetheart. The invites always there,” he says before turning on his heels and leaving you to yourself.
Chris Evans was an enigma that you didn’t think you’d ever crack.
~
The soft knock at your door caused your neck to snap in its direction, uncrossing your legs as you slid off the too big hotel bed and looked through the peep hole.
It was hard to make out the figure, but it looked like...no, it couldn’t be.
“Chris?” His name slipped through your lips as you opened the door.
He beamed a smile as he held up a case of beer and box of pizza.
“Turns out, parties aren’t my thing either.”
You couldn’t help but chuckle as you moved aside to let him in.
“And you decided that coming to my room at,” you had to check the time, “3:16 in the morning was the logical thing to do?”
He set everything down on the coffee table before hopping onto your bed, “yup.”
You had to roll your eyes as you laughed, closing and locking the door as you stepped in front of him.
“C’mon kid,” oh, why did that do something to you?
“You work hard every day of the week, you deserve one night to not care about anything.” His words were gentle as he stood up to grab a beer.
“Want one?” He asked, holding a beer up as you replayed his words.
“Sure,” he was right, you do deserve a break.
You both took a seat on the small, uncomfortable couch in the room as you took a sip. Well, it was beer.
“So,” you broke the silence, “the Chris Evans doesn’t like parties?” You quirked an amused eyebrow as he laughed.
“Maybe I wanted to escape to see you, is that so bad?” He said, licking his bottom lip; not breaking eye contact.
You shook your head, “such a fucking Gemini,” you mumble as Chris smirks.
“What did I say about that smart mouth of yours?” He eggs you on, leaning forward and giving your knee a squeeze.
“I don’t remember.” You bite back, feeling your heart kicking in your chest as you feel his breath fanning over your face.
“Maybe I should teach you a lesson or two then, hmm?” He purrs, running his free hand up your neck and resting it there.
“I dare you,” you mumble, transfixed on the feeling of his warm hands on you.
The dominos fall and Chris’ lips are meshed with yours, the faint taste of beer on them as you wrap your fingers in the collar of his shirt.
“You know I never back down from a challenge,” he murmurs against your lips before taking you by the hand and leading you to the bed.
He pushes you onto it, the sheets around you as the weight of Chris’ body pushed you further into it.
“Ah ah,” he tsks when you let out a soft moan, “I thought I told you to keep quiet for me.”
You swallow thickly, throat dry and lips parted as you gasp when you can feel the weight of him between your hips.
“Can you do that for me, sweetheart? Can you be a good girl?” He purrs, absolutely knowing what it does to you as you writhe under him.
“Good,” he hums. “Now let’s see how good you are when I’m between your legs makin’ then shake.”
His wink doesn’t go unnoticed by you as your clothes are shed, his coming off until he’s left in nothing but his boxers.
There’s little left to the imagination, the outline of his cock clear as he wraps his hands around your ankles and tugs you down to the end of the bed.
You yelp, sliding off the pillows as he sinks to his knees, hungry eyes just waiting to taste you.
“Look at you,” he cooes, “drippin’ at the thought of me between your thighs?” He mocks, cocking his head to side as he keeps your legs open.
Chaste kisses are pressed to your inner thighs, gently as you try to stop the plea’s that are begging to slip past your mouth.
“You’re bein’ so patient for me too, good girl.” He praises, he breath over your core is hot as you grab for his hair.
The feeling of his tongue makes you moan and squeeze your legs around his head.
“Mmm,” he hums, “that good already?”
If he wasn’t buried between your legs you might’ve, just might’ve had the courage to roll your eyes.
His fingers tease your entrance as his mouth works over your clit.
    There’s no holding back now.
You don’t care how loud you’re being, giving into the sensation as he works you to the edge, your legs shaking.
“You wanna come, don’t you, pretty girl?” Yes, God, yes.
“Well that’s too bad,” he taunts making you let out a whine.
“Not until I’m buried deep ‘side of you,” he grunts, quickly stripping off the rest of his clothes until he’s crawling back over you with a condom in his hand.
You’re still dizzy, slightly angry from your denied orgasm, but wanting nothing more than to feel him stretching you out.
“You think you’re ready for my cock,” he smirks teasingly as you feel him at your entrance.
You whine, bringing his lips to your but he stops you at the last second.
“Uh uh baby, I wanna hear you beg for it.” He taunts, nose brushing yours.
“Fuck,” you whimper, “please, just fuck me.” You beg, eyes meeting his.
That’s all he needs before he’s slowly sinking into you, watching your face contort in immeasurable pleasure.
“Feel so fuckin’ good,” he grunts, “so tight and warm.”
Your fingers dig into his speckled back, finding your ground as you dig into the soft skin as he thrusts into you.
Suddenly, the only think you can think about is how good this feels.
“My pretty girl,” he whispers, bending your one leg at the knee to get a deeper angle.
“Takin’ my cock so goddamn well,” he grunts, “gonna make me come.”
His words send a shiver down your spine as your walls flutter around him. He drops on one of his elbows, getting impossibly close to you.
“You’re gonna come too, aren’t you, sweetheart?” He teases, lips on yours swallowing every moan before you feel a hand around your throat.
“Look at me when you come, baby,” he purrs, applying just the slightest amount of pressure to the column of your throat.
“Wanna see you come for me,” he smirks, his thrusts getting harsher before you feel yourself giving into your orgasm.
Your body shakes as your mouth falls open, his name a breathy moan before you feel his hips stuttering.
He sounds exhausted after he spills inside of you, tumbling on top of you as you’re left in sweaty silence as you’re left with nothing to do but run your fingers through his dampened hair.
“Gemini or not, you’re what made me weak in the knees, sweetheart.” Chris whispers, eyes on yours as you feel a flutter in your heart.
“There’s somethin’ about you that I won’t ever grow tired of, that I’m sure about.”

‘Wanna know what it's like (like)
Baby, show me what it's like (like)
I don't really got no type (type)
I just wanna fuck all night’
Spencer Reid. The object of my attraction, the man I fell harder for with every stolen glance I could manage to throw his way. I was obsessed, and that infatuation only grew stronger every day that I saw him at work.
When we went out to bars after cases we ended up in an inevitable game of Never Have I Ever like a bunch of high school kids. With Emily and Derek in the group it almost always turned sexual. It started with innocent things such as; Never have I ever kicked down a door -- to which Derek drinks. There were some targeted jabs, I got Spencer a few times when I brought up an activity I was certain he had done -- just to keep him involved.
However he never drank past that. He never took a sip when Emily made a sexual innuendo, or when she brought up one night stands, number of partners, most bizarre location to engage in intercourse. Nothing of the sort got him to break. I figured he was a private guy, never one to boast about his sexual experiences.
It was frustrating, to say the least. It got to the point where I couldn’t think about anyone but him. I couldn’t engage in any sexual activity without my mind shifting to him, the way he might slip his fingers in and out of me, or how skilled he was with his mouth instead of the person I dragged home. No other person could even begin to compare to the remedy I concocted in my mind. I didn’t have any information to base my fantasies on, either.
I had it bad. So bad, that at one point I spilled hot coffee all over myself in the breakroom over the littlest interaction.
Spencer came in just after me, mumbling a small hello before reaching to grab a mug for himself. In the process of doing so his shirt rode up, exposing a small expanse of his lower stomach that had me sputtering as I clumsily missed my cup and instead poured the coffee all over the counter. It ran down and soaked through my pants; yet it wasn’t nearly as hot as the way I felt on the inside.
I couldn’t help but wonder the noises he’d make if I were to suck dark purple marks across that plain of skin...or if anyone ever had before.
The small burn was a fine price to pay for my inappropriate thoughts.
Him being the sweet guy that he is, offered to help me clean up. This proposal ended up with him taking paper towels and patting down my thighs -- not realizing just how suggestive the action looked to me.
“Sorry,” He whispered, looking up at my face from his position below me. He was kneeling on one knee, with a hand planted firmly on the outside of my thigh. His voice was soft yet raspy, and oh how I let my mind wander.
“Not your fault,” I said quickly, and borderline ran out the door before he could protest or add anything on.
I headed straight to the bathroom to wash my face, try and stop the effect he had on me from becoming too physical.
If I got that worked up over a small piece of skin showing, nothing could have prepared me for the first night we shared a hotel room.
I was in shambles all night, ever since the moment Hotch handed me a room card and explained we needed to double up.
Emily usually roomed with JJ, Hotch and Rossi got their own, and Derek refuses to bunk with Spencer -- if he could avoid it. Much to my luck, this time he did because Garcia was needed for this case, meaning she and Derek would be sharing.
Leaving me with Spencer.
I stood there helpless, eyes burning a hole into the place that Hotch was previously standing. I was panicking on the inside, my body going into fight or flight mode as I went through scenarios in my head.
I was 99% sure I would be embarrassing myself tonight.
“Hey,” Spencer said, putting a hand on my shoulder.
I jumped and shrieked a little bit, and slapped a hand over my heart. “Oh my god, Reid. You scared me.”
“Sorry,” he laughed. “Sorry I didn’t mean to.”
“It’s okay.”
He nodded, eventually realizing that he was still indeed touching my shoulder. He dropped his arm, only to bring his hand back up to rub over his chin.
My eyes darted down to it, watching at the way his veins stood out. It wasn’t the first time I admired them, there were moments when he was going over maps with two fingers where I wondered what they would feel like on my-
“____?”
“What?” I asked, a little too loud for the setting.
“Did you hear me?”
“No, sorry.”
“I said we should go inside,” he laughed softly, trying to sooth the tension.
I agreed, stepping past him to start walking to our room. I opened the door with trembling hands, wondering just how hard the following nights at the hotel would be.
“I’m gonna go see Emily and JJ. Ask if they wanna go to the bar,” I said quickly, throwing my bag down just inside the door.
“Oh. Okay. Have fun! Don’t stay out too late. You should get a full night’s sleep.”
“I won’t be long. Don’t wait up!” I called, not looking back to see him before half jogging out of the room.
-----
“I cannot go back in there.”
“Oh, because of your little crush,” Emily laughed, much too loud for the early hours of the morning.
Clearly Spencer’s advice about coming back early didn’t plant itself in my head.
“Yes, because of that,” I confirmed. I was staring down at my drink, wallowing in self pity. It was too awkward to even step foot in there, I’m sure just by the sight of him I’d explode.
“What is it about him that gets you hot and heavy?” JJ teased. “No shame, just curious.”
I fake laughed, ignoring her question.
Everything he did was so intoxicating. Even the most mundane things got my blood pumping hard. Each time he let a small gasp through his lips or when he would whisper to himself, a shockwave went through me, igniting a fire deep inside that was near impossible to put out.
But he was so oblivious. He hadn’t a single idea of the effect he had on me. And that was the most frustrating part.
The first time I noticed my extreme attraction to him was shortly after I joined the team, it was only the third or fourth case I’d had with them. Spencer and I walked to a coffee shop to grab some for everyone, and on the way back he was infodumping.
About what, I can’t remember, for I was too fixated on the way his hands wrapped around his cup as he talked. He’d wave it around, and in doing so his fingers would trace little patterns onto the outside of it. I didn't mean to stare, I just got distracted.
I started noticing more little things after that.
Like the way he licked his lips while deep in thought, his mind consuming him to the point where he looked so concentrated and determined. It was hot, to put it simply. I wanted nothing more for him to be licking my lips, to feel him take such care with my body.
He had always been attractive in my eyes, the young boy was nothing but pretty. Even when his hair was shorter and he gelled it back, pairing the look with his glasses -- that he unfortunately wore less often nowadays.
It was nearly painful to be around him all day every day. My head would constantly be spinning with anxiety, only causing more and more headaches to present themselves. It was like a punishment, one I certainly deserved for the tasteful thoughts I had during work hours.
My crush went from an innocent little thing, to full fledged fascination.
‘I just been fantasizin' (size)
And we got a lotta time (time)
Baby, come throw the pipe (pipe)’
Avoiding him as much as I could seemed like a decent plan at the time. If I kept my interactions low, I could distract myself with other things, and not focus on the way his lips pursed as I conversed with him. I raced up more time staring at his mouth rather than completing actual work by my six month stay at the BAU.
“I’m so fucked,” I nodded, coming to a bit of peace with my downfall.
“Well, you could be. If you told him how you feel,” JJ encouraged.
“No way in hell,” I protested, shooting my head up to make eye contact with her.
“____, there is a very, very high chance he feels the same. And if he doesn’t -- which he does -- he’s too sweet to let that impact your friendship.”
“We hardly even have a friendship. Whenever he tries to talk to me I end up running away. He probably thinks I hate him or something. He probably wants nothing to do with me.”
No objection from Emily or JJ there.
“What’s the worst that could happen?” Emily asked, changing the pace of the conversation.
“He never speaks to me again. I die of embarrassment.”
“You’re both adults, ____.”
“We are 27!” I shook my head, exasperated. “I hardly even feel like one sometimes.”
“27, exactly. I’m sure by now Reid has gained some experience with talking to women. You’ll be fine.”
“I have absolutely no way of knowing how things will go.”
“Just give him little tests,” JJ suggested. “Like touch him. On the shoulders, compliment him more, really go up to him and make a move. That way if he doesn’t feel the same you can play it off as being platonic.”
I groaned and rested my head on the table dramatically. “You both kinda suck at advice. What am I supposed to do? Waltz into our shared room and confess my love for him? Ask him desperately to dick me down?”
Even though I definitely wanted to.
They laughed at that, saying they were going to bed and wished me luck. Emily advised I should try and ‘get some’ from somebody else, and maybe that would take my mind off of things.
After stalling some more I eventually made my way back to the hotel room, hoping that Spencer was already asleep so I wouldn’t have to face him. But once again, luck wasn’t in my favour.
“Hi,” he spoke softly from his bed.
“Why are you still awake?” I asked, trying my best to stifle a yawn. I threw my sweater down on my bed, before grabbing my go-bag and retrieving my pyjamas from it. “It’s almost one in the morning.”
“I wanted to make sure you got back okay.”
“I told you not to wait up. Naughty boy,” I joked, finally turning my attention fully over to him.
Which could've been a mistake, based on the way you saw it.
He was dressed in flannel pants and a black t-shirt, along with his hair tied up that I’d failed to notice earlier. I froze at the sight, seeing the way his cheeks were dusted a slight red, and lips pink as ever.
His hair was tied up, and I almost dropped dead at the sight. I’d never seen it before. Sure, he sometimes wore an elastic band on his wrist during the work days but never have I seen him actually use one.
“I’m gonna shower and then head to bed,” I said in an effort to keep my voice steady.
He didn’t respond, only turning his head back to the book that was in his hand.
Thankfully when I returned he was asleep, meaning I didn’t have to see him before bed.
The next day was torturous. I couldn’t get the image of him out of my head. The view of him so relaxed on his bed was ethereal, the soft glow of the lamp hand illuminated his skin in all the right places. Did he pull his hair back often? Did he casually sit at home with it up? How did he look in different angles or positions? Are there other things he wears or does that I haven’t seen?
The image was just so domestic that I couldn't stop thinking about it even if I wanted to.
I was afraid to fall asleep, in fear that my dream may turn adventurous. Quitting my job and moving to a new city seems more preferable than having a sex dream about your coworker while they were in the room.
I was hyper aware of every move he made, always keeping tabs on him in the back of my mind so we wouldn’t accidentally run into each other.
Apparently when I was paying attention on how not to see him, I failed to notice how he had filled out recently. He wore looser pants in the past, ones that didn’t allow much shape to show through.
The next day at the precinct I was in for a surprise though, one that was sure to make me fall to my knees.
And I would have, if it wasn’t for the fact I was already seated in a chair.
Spencer walked in clad in pants that were far too tight to be appropriate for work. Or maybe I was overreacting.
“Jesus Christ,” I muttered under my breath, soaking in his appearance of the day.
It was hot outside, so he decided not to wear his usual vest and tie combo, choosing instead just a white pattern button up and grey tie.
I heard Emily snicker beside me, which earned her a light kick in the calf to shut her up. She got up then, winking at me dramatically before leaving the room to presumably go check in with Derek.
“Hey ____, can you come here for a sec?”
I got up without a word, and walked over to the other side of the room where he was standing at the map hung up.
He went off about the unsub’s possible comfort zone -- things that I’d need him to repeat later because I wasn’t fully listening,
I stayed leaning against the table, just two feet behind him which gave me a perfect view of just how tight those pants really were. They hugged his hips deliciously, I wanted nothing more than to rip them off in that moment. I nodded along dumbly, changing my sight from his ass to his back, to his toned arms that were shown off from him rolling up his sleeves.
It was a fair sight, I don’t really think I could be blamed for staring.
A few weeks after that he got a haircut. His longer curls were gone -- yet not forgotten -- and were replaced with a mop of messy waves that framed his face perfectly.
It was like a new blow to my stomach every time I got used to the change.
“New haircut?” I asked the obvious on the first day back from a long weekend.
“Yeah...thought I should change it up,” Spencer replied, picking up his coffee mug to make himself a cup.
I nodded, the room settling in a short silence.
“Do you not like it?”
“No!” I exclaimed, Spencer furrowing his brows in response. “I mean, yes. I do like it. Sorry.”
“Oh, okay,” he laughed. “Thank you.”
“You could pull off any hairstyle, trust me,” I said, before walking back to my desk.
People that we met seemed to feel the same, because he got stopped more often at bars and at shops that were needed to visit. People would give him their numbers, leaving him a blushing mess. It got obnoxious, to the point where I was at my breaking point. My shoulders were always slumped, and my forehead creased with jealousy.
I stayed closer to him when the team went out, in an effort to get other girls to stop making moves on him.
They hadn’t noticed his beauty before, why should they get the privilege to advance on him now?
It was selfish, really. It may have been good for his self-confidence, but not so good for my own feelings.
I made sure to compliment him more often, telling him I liked his sweater vests, and ‘oh my Doctor Reid, is that a new tie?’ It was a win-win really, for both of us. I was building up my comfort level with him, and he knew that I did not, in fact, despise him.
When Spencer got shot on a case a few weeks later, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to show him that I care about him.
It was an easy job, since the bullet only semi-grazed his shoulder blade. Only needed deep cleaning once a night, for a few weeks so it wouldn’t get infected.
“Fuck,” he breathed with a groan, one that sent shivers throughout my veins.
“Sorry,” I answered quickly, keeping my gaze on the task at hand and not on his face that was just so close to mine.
Here I was in Spencer’s apartment, in his bathroom, helping him clean off his wound.
“I’m sorry but you need to stop moving, it’s just making things worse,” I explained.
“It hurts!”
“I’m sure it does! But I can’t do an effective job in cleaning it if you keep thrashing around like that.”
I saw him pout, and lower his head. The gears in his brain were turning, trying to come up with a possible solution.
“You’re going to need to hold me down.”
“What?!”
“I’m not gonna be able to stop moving,” he said, looking over his shoulder to where I was sitting behind him on the floor. “Come on.”
He stood up and left the room, gesturing for me to follow. And I did, collecting the supplies I’d need as he led me over to his living room.
Before I could protest he removed his shirt fully -- not like how it was bunched up by his neck previously.
I stopped in my tracks, eyes taking in every inch of skin that he freed. He was lean, as I predicted, but still toned in areas.
Spencer laid on his stomach down on the couch, motioning for me to come beside him.
“Get on my back.”
“Are you insane?”
“____,” he pleaded, looking up at me. His arms were crossed by his head, he was using them as a makeshift pillow. “I just want this to be over as fast as it can be.”
Right.
“Okay,” I agreed, and began to place my materials down on the coffee table to my right. I then swung a leg over his lower back, straddling him just how I’d imagine doing so before -- only the other way around. “Is this okay?”
He hummed, digging his face as far into the fabric of the couch as he could.
‘I got a lotta new tricks for you, baby
Just sayin' I'm flexible (I will)’
I took that as a yes, and poured some of the disinfectant onto a swab. Bracing myself with a hand on his other shoulder to pin him down firmly he shivered, breath shaking ever so slightly. I tried to catch him off guard with the swab, choosing a random time to press it into his wound.
He was definitely surprised, because he whined loudly into his hands and clenched all of the muscles in his back.
I couldn’t help but wonder if he made similar noises during other activities…
“Just a minute more,” I soothed him, running my free hand over the smooth skin of his back, doing my best to calm him down.
His breathing only became heavier, and was nearly shaking from the burn. I felt bad, having to see him go through this but I’d be lying if it wasn’t doing things to me. I couldn’t help but get a little bit excited when I got the chance to be near him, to be closer than we had ever been before.
It was intense, I was almost sure he could feel my arousal through the fabric of my pants and underwear.
I was an awful person.
Going home that night to sleep was a struggle. I felt guilty, for using his pain for my perverse temptations. Yet as soon as my fingers were buried inside myself I couldn’t stop myself from imagining him above me. The way he might sound, spewing out similar noises that I’d experienced earlier that were still fresh in my brain.
I wasn’t proud of it, and I thought every one of our interactions after that would be even harder.
Going back to work seemed fully impossible, I didn’t have any hope in myself to stay useful while he was parading around, completely oblivious to the effect he had on me. I became more sexually frustrated every day. It was nearly infuriating to see a look of innocence plastered on his face, meanwhile he would do things that made me go crazy.
‘Wanna know what it's like (like)
Baby, show me what it's like (like)
I don't really got no type (type)
I just wanna fuck all night’
“Penelope, I think I might die soon if I don’t get laid,” I said, rapidly opening the door to her cave.
“____-”
“No, I’m serious. I can’t get my mind off of-”
I stopped in my tracks, finally noticing the presence I hadn’t already accounted for.
Spencer sat in a chair to my left, just out of view that you couldn’t see him if you didn’t turn your head. He was in the middle of bringing a chip up to his mouth, but was stopped mid-air with his mouth hanging open.
“Sorry,” he said, scrambling up fast, bumping into things as he collected his satchel with shaky hands. “Sorry I’ll go.”
The door shut with a slam, and left Penelope and I in silence.
“Well, fuck,” I whispered, earning a booming laugh from her. “It’s not funny.”
“It is funny. It’s hilarious,” she giggled, doing a little spin on her chair.
I groaned, and sat down beside her on the edge of her desk.
“Maybe now he’ll make a move on you.”
“Oh shut up,” I slapped her arm, beginning to laugh along with her. “If he was avoiding me before, I’m sure he’ll never speak to me again.”
Ever since I helped Spencer with his injury the first time he’d been semi ignoring me, not trying to actively partake in conversation. We only talked when necessary, but didn’t exchange any extra words when I came over for an hour to help him with his wound.
I was almost happy about that, it meant I didn’t have to embarrassingly throw myself at him all day long.
I was perfectly fine admiring him from a distance, just how I’d done so for years.
However, there was a part of me that was rightfully sad. Did I cross a line, or make him feel uncomfortable? Maybe from spending so much time together recently he gathered I really wasn’t that interesting.
“Don’t say that,” Penelope frowned.
“Why not? It’s the truth,” I shrugged.
“Why don’t you just tell him how you feel?”
“How I feel?”
“Don’t even try and wedge your way out of it. Emily told me, don’t be mad,” she said, with the sweetest look on her face that I couldn’t be upset.
“Bitch,” I playfully mumbled.
“Besides you literally were about to say that you can’t get your mind off of him.”
“Uh, no, I was not. I was going to say someone. A general someone. Not Reid.”
She hummed, turning back to her screen to finish up some work Hotch had sent her to do.
“Okay fine. Pen, I’m gonna die. It’s insufferable. I can’t handle it anymore.”
“That’s exactly why you should tell him!” She encouraged excitedly, always a swooner for young love.
“I would scare him. He’s probably scared of me, actually.”
“Oh come on, I’m sure his little virgin heart can take it.”
“What?” I asked, suddenly giving her all my attention. “Virgin? Is he seriously a virgin?”
“I don’t know, truly. I just kinda figured. He doesn’t talk about anyone or anything to do with sex.”
I nodded. That makes sense. With him radiating pure sex appeal in my eyes, the thought never even crossed my mind that he might be a virgin.
But that just made it all the more exciting.
“But hey, if he’s really a 27 year old virgin I’m sure he’s extremely horny,” she laughed.
“We are at work. Let’s calm it down before I actually combust,” I shook my head.
My palms were sweating at the very thought of him doing anything remotely sexual -- which I thought about a lot. Surely he’s had to at least...taken care of himself. I’m sure it was a gorgeous sight, his hand wrapped firmly around his dick and face contorted in nothing but pleasure.
My thoughts were interrupted by none other than the man himself, who barged into the room to say we were taking off for a case in 30.
The flight there was quiet and boring, we left at night so there wasn’t so much we could do when we got there besides head up to our hotel.
“We’re sharing a room,” Spencer said, walking over to me from where he was previously with Derek.
I was standing in front of the vending machine, doing my very best to not eavesdrop on the mens’ conversation, which was only taking place about 20 feet away. Spencer was speaking in a hushed yet agitated tone, and Derek was matching his energy. It seemed they were bickering, but about what I didn’t know.
“Says who?” I panicked.
“Uhh...Hotch did.”
Great.
“Oh. Alright,” I followed him down the hallway, our room was the last one at the end.
I waited for him to open the door, and when he stepped out of the way to let me inside I brushed past him.
When I turned around Spencer was standing there blocking my path, causing me to bump into his chest.
“Hello...” I said confused, taking a step back.
“I…”
“What?” I asked, furrowing my eyebrows. “Spencer what are you doing?”
He didn’t answer with words, instead reaching up to push a piece of hair out of my face. My breath hitched at the contact, sending me into a short frenzy on the inside. He was inching closer, now his body was getting just close enough so that I could feel the heat radiating off of him. He was glancing back and forth between my eyes, searching my face for an expression of discomfort.
He didn’t find any.
“I was talking with Derek. About you,” he whispered. “He said you’ve been coming on to me.”
My heart nearly missed a beat at his words.
“I've noticed your odd behaviour, you don’t act the way you do with anyone else on the team. You run away from me, and at first I thought you just didn’t like me, but now...I think it’s the opposite. I see the way you look at me, you know.”
“And how do I look at you?” I questioned nervously.
“Like you want me. Tell me. Who were you talking about earlier today? Who exactly can’t get your mind off of?”
I paused, eyes almost bulging out of my head at the implication.
“If I'm reading this wrong, let me know. We can pretend this never happened.”
“Get on the bed and take your clothes off.”
He did just that, moving beside me to shove his pants down his legs, followed by ripping off his shirt, as I did the same. We couldn’t take our eyes off of each other, too busy drinking in our appearances to think straight. He sat down on the edge of the bed in just his underwear, and spread his legs just wide enough to give me space to stand between them.
“Tell me what you want.” he breathed, watching me as I walked towards him.
“You,” I answered simply, climbing into his lap and connecting my mouth was his. “All of you.”
He didn’t protest, only doing quite the opposite. He moaned greedily into my mouth, sucking every last bit of life out of me. He was hungry in his movements, not allowing for a single beat of fresh air for either of us. I was more than happy to return the energy, for I’ve dreamt for too long about what he might taste like. And it wasn’t disappointing, the sensation was far better than I could have ever cooked up in my head.
After a minute he became impatient, and started bucking his hips up to meet mine. I did the same, grinding down on his hardening dick that felt...impressive to say the least.
“I’ve thought about you for so long,” I spoke against his lips, taking a break between kisses.
He groaned back at me, moving his hands from my cheeks down to my hips to hold me flush against himself. He whimpered when I was fully against him, he had to break away to keep his breathing somewhat managed.
“Please, I need you so bad. I’ve thought about you too.”
“What exactly did you think about?” I asked quietly, trailing kisses all across his face, and then started heading down his jaw and neck.
“L-lots of stuff.”
“Tell me,” I demanded, looking up at him from my new position kneeling on the floor. “Please, tell me.”
I brought a hand up to his boxers, ghosting just over his bulge while remaining eye contact.
“Everything. All of you. ____, Please.”
‘You're exciting, boy, come find me
Your eyes told me, "Girl, come ride me"’
“Let me do something first,” I said, pushing against his stomach to encourage him to lie back on the bed. He did so, propping himself up on his forearms to look down at me.
He watched my every move, not a second was missed by his eyes that stayed locked onto my form. I dropped my head down to kiss across his left thigh, and toyed with the waistband of his underwear with my right hand.
He was so vocal, and I hadn’t even done anything yet. I knew we had all night, but I’d waited too long for this to take my time.
‘And we got a lotta time (time)
Baby, come throw the pipe (pipe)’
I pulled his underwear down just enough to reveal his dick hard and red as it stood up against his stomach.
“You don’t...have to,” Spencer stopped me before I could carry on.
“Do you not want me to?”
“It’s not that.”
“Then what is it?”
“It’s just…” He stopped, and bit his lip while staring off to one of the walls.
“Has anyone ever done this with you before?” I asked, almost unsure of whether or not I wanted the answer.
“Done what...exactly?” he asked, refusing to look back at me. His cheeks were red in embarrassment, and he was too focused on the distance to see the wave of excitement that flashed over my face.
“Spencer,” I said sharply, prompting him to turn his attention back to me. “Are you a virgin?”
His lack of answer told me enough. He blushed impossibly deeper, and started squirming in place. Just as he was about to speak up for himself I stopped him with, “That’s so fucking hot.”
“What?”
I climbed back up his body, just far enough so that I could grab his jaw in my hand and pull him down to meet my lips. It was even more hungry and passionate than the previous ones we shared, full of such fire I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to kiss anyone else ever again.
“You’re so sexy,” I moaned, hot and needy into his mouth.
He was good, which wasn’t unexpected from my end. His lips were always so plump and pink, they just had to be semi skilled.
“Thank you,” he replied, in a typical Spencer Reid fashion.
“Do you want to stop? Or keep going? Take a minute and think about it. I don’t want to pressure you,” I reassured him, but on the inside I was begging for him to want to continue.
He pulled back for a second, running a hand over the back of my head to keep me from going too far. His eyes were closed, focusing only on his breathing as he thought about his answer.
“I want to keep going. Please,” he decided on, nodding his head. “I just, I dunno, didn’t expect to get this far tonight.”
“Believe me, neither did I,” I smirked, smashing my lips back against his and returning to my spot kneeling between his legs. I pushed him back harder than before, sending a small oof sound from his chest as his back hit the mattress.
“Has anyone ever touched you here?” I asked, finally wrapping my hand around his dick,
It only made sense that a pretty boy like him would have a pretty cock, too.
“O-only once,” he breathed, with his head thrown back. He was staring at the ceiling, staring at the dots to distract himself from the feeling and to not come too soon. “Long time ago.”
“If you need me to stop, tell me,” I said, before licking a broad strip up the underside of his dick.
I paused at the head, swirling my tongue around before continuing my mission back down around the other side. I kissed his base, leaving more near his hips. He whined positively -- probably feeling a little ticklish -- and I took that as a good sign to suck a deep purple mark there.
Just like I’d thought about doing months ago.
I left a few more just up to his belly button, marking him up with the intent to claim him as my own. He’d see those marks for the next few days, and every time he would think of me on my knees for him. I kept pumping him in my hand as I did so, and every time I groaned into his skin his dick twitched with appreciation.
“Oh god,” Spencer moaned as I took him into my mouth unexpectedly, bunching up the sheets in his hands beside his hips.
I looked up to see him now staring down at me, jaw slacked and panting heavily. The sight was enough to elicit a moan from my own mouth, which led to him fluttering his eyes shut at the vibrations that shot through his body.
“Stop, stop!”
“What’s wrong?” I asked worriedly, immediately pulling up.
“Nothing, I just really want to feel you and I don’t think I can last much longer.”
Understandable.
I wasn’t expecting him to last long anyways, I just simply wanted him inside me.
“Do you happen to have a condom?” He shook his head. “I’m clean and on the pill. We should be fine. Is that okay?”
He mumbled an ‘uh huh’ as he watched me stand up, as I pushed my underwear down my legs. He immediately reached out to me, bringing me back in and starting placing kisses across my stomach and hips, mirroring what I was doing to him earlier.
“Good, because if you don’t fuck me right now I think I might die.”
‘Yeah-yeah, oh-whoa-whoa (oh, ooh, mmm)
Baby, I need to know, mmm (yeah, need to know)’
He laughed lightheartedly, fixing himself to be sitting up near the headboard. In the process he kicked off his boxers fully, along with his socks.
I followed after him, not letting him stray too far from my reach.
“I heard that women take longer to, erm, get ready,” he muttered into my skin, hiding his face in my neck. “Let me help you?”
“Please,” I whimpered, though I knew I was far from unprepared. I reached behind myself to unclasp my bra, and as soon as it fell down my shoulders Spencer attached his mouth to my left nipple. “Please touch me.”
He moaned into me, bringing his hand down to my core to run his fingers through my folds. He let his middle breach me, moving so agonizingly slow before curling his finger up. I moaned loudly, letting my eyes shut and body fall slack against him. His free arm wrapped around my waist, giving me the support I needed to stay upright.
“So that’s your g-spot?” He grinned against my skin, and I’d be damned to admit it affected me way more than it should have. He sounded so innocent, so eager to learn.
“Uh-huh.”
He explored my skin greedily, brushing over every inch of my chest he could reach. His thrusts became faster every time he re-entered me, encouraged by the grunt that fell from my lips with each one.
“Have you ever done this with a girl before?”
“No,” he replied, moving from my breasts to my collarbone, leaving a dark purple mark in his path.
“Could've fooled me,” I felt him smile against my neck at the praise -- duly noted.
He flipped us over swiftly -- much to my surprise -- and continued with his actions on both my clit and entrance. I did my best to stay quiet, biting down on his shoulder to prevent any noises from leaking out to stop him from getting too cocky.
“Spencer,” I moaned, raking my fingernails up and down his back. “Stop. Please fuck me now, I’m ready.”
“Are you sure you want to? We can stop,” he reassured me in a voice that seemed far too innocent for the activities taking place.
“Spencer, I’m sure. I’m so fucking sure you have no idea.”
I was so turned on I could cry, the pure want running through my veins was starting to send panic signals throughout my whole body. Before I could beg him any further he replaced his fingers with his dick, catching me off guard. He ran the tip over me for a few seconds before gliding in easily, with little to no restriction at all.
“Ah!” I called, gripping onto his shoulder for dear life.
“I’m so sorry, oh my god did I hurt you?” Spencer asked frantically, removing his weight from me and tried sitting up.
“No. God please move, I need you so bad,” I pleaded, pulling him back down before he could get too far away.
He nodded. He started slow. So slowly that I wanted to scream and beg at the top of my lungs for more. However I was above giving him the satisfaction of that -- at least for now.
“You feel so good,” Spencer panted, hips shaking as he slid in and out at a torturous pace.
I pulled his lips back to mine for another kiss, drinking in everything he was willing to offer. I whined every time his body rubbed against my clit in a way that had my toes curling and eyes rolling back.
“This is so much better than I’ve imagined,” I moaned, breaking free from his mouth to lay back against the pillows. I wrapped my legs around his waist, aiding him with the speed of his thrusts. “Please, Spence, oh my god go harder.”
He moaned loudly, and lowered his head to my collarbone in an effort to muffle some of the noises he was letting out.
He followed my directions well -- and I took notes for the future.
The sounds of him bouncing off the walls was amplifying my pleasure to a new degree, it was unlike anything I’d ever experienced. His hips snapped forward impossibly faster, leaving him a whimpering mess above me. Our chests were pressed together, the sound of skin slapping and gliding over each other filled the dimly lit room.
“You’re doing so good for me,” I whispered into his neck, leaving open mouthed kisses here and there.
He moaned freely at all of the praise, and every time I urged him on he’d pick up his speed a little bit. He was now moving faster than I thought I could handle, slamming into me at the perfect angle.
I felt him everywhere. In my stomach, insides of my thighs, chest -- where he was now palming at one of my breasts -- and the crook of my neck. I hugged my arms around his middle to keep him locked against me, preventing his hips from heavily backing out.
“I’m really close,” He groaned, lifting his head to meet my eyes. “S-should I pull out now?”
“No,” I demanded, tightening my legs to keep him trapped. “Come inside me.”
He nodded with a particularly loud moan, and snaked one hand down my body to meet my clit. When I gave a sound of approval he quickened his wrist, rubbing me with just the right amount of pressure to send me closer to the edge.
He came with a final shout in my name, resting his full body weight against me as I rocked my him against him to help him through it. I finished soon after, at the feeling of him releasing himself in me. It was so warm, like a comforting blanket that overtook all of my senses.
It was possibly the best orgasm I’d ever had, it was so profound that I couldn’t see, or focus on anything else.
We laid there for a few minutes, my hand running through his hair and his ghosting up the side of my hip. It took a while for us both to catch our breaths, we were too immersed in the moment to break apart from one another.
“That was literally the best sex I’ve had in my life,” I breathed, staring up at the ceiling.
“Same, but I don’t have anything to compare it to,” Spencer replied, and we both laughed weakly.
“That was okay for you? Your first time? Not really the traditional approach.”
“It was perfect. I wouldn’t have asked for anything different,” he pulled himself up with a smile, before pulling out and flopping down beside me.
“But seriously,” I sat up, resting my head on my palm to get a better view of him. “I’ve never been so attracted to someone as I am with you.”
“____,” he blushed. “I-”
“No! No, let me finish. Please.”
He nodded for me to go ahead.
“Not only are you just insanely sweet and so charming, you’re so handsome. Like I can hardly even look at you half the time. You drive me insane, Spencer you have no idea. Holy fuck I’ve never wanted someone so bad before I met you. You’re intoxicating. I can’t get enough. I’ll cringe about this later but I just need you to know.”
“This may not be the most common way...but do you want to go out with me? L-like on a date?” Spencer asked. He was blushing so heavily, his chest was painted pink and ears were turned red.
“You just came inside of me and you’re nervous about asking me on a date.”
“____!” Spencer exclaimed, facepalming himself.
“Yes,” I grinned. “I’d love to go out with you.”

The Night Shift (pt 1) (Frankie Morales x F!Reader)
So, if you've been here a while this might be familiar. I've decided to rewrite all my stuff starting with TNS, because 1. it was going nowhere, 2. I feel I've grown a lot as a writer, and 3. I was unhappy with my writing. This will be updated slowly with uni and my new job, as well as edits ect. The first few chapters will be similar to the first few of the OG TNS but it will diverge a lot.
Reader is named, but physical descriptions are kept to a minimum, but they are white coded. There will be eventual smut.
This story will contain a lot of mature themes, such as abusive relationships, PTSD, drugs & alcohol, depression, anxiety. This will be the only warning I give, if you can't handle those things please don't read.
Anyways.
Summary: Frankie has taken the job as the overnight cook at Lou’s Diner, where you work as the overnight waitress. Attraction slowly grows between you, despite both your best efforts.
W/C: 1.6k
Part 2
Coffee pooled warm in your stomach, sending waves of comfort through your body. The diner was void of customers save for a single man sitting at the counter sipping his coffee and slowly working his way through yesterday's crossword. The man was a regular, but you had never learned his name.
“Five letter word for beg,” he said as you refilled his near-empty up.
You thought for a moment. “Plead?”
The man nodded approvingly as he wrote it down. “You’re a doll.” You shook your head, feeling more Cabbage Patch Kid than Barbie, and made your way to the window that separated the kitchen from the rest of the diner. The clock above the window read 4:17AM, only another hour and thirteen minutes until you clocked off. Not that you were counting.
“Want a drink?”
Manny Ortiz sat on an empty milk crate by the door, long skinny legs stretched out before him. The cook was your only consistent company after 9 PM, when everyone else left for the night, and he had been for the past four years you had worked the night shift at Lou’s Twenty-Four Hour Diner. Tonight however was his last shift, and you still had yet to meet his replacement. Secretly you were hoping for Josh from the day crew; he was easy to get along with and even easier on the eyes. Plus he gave you a discount on weed when he was in a good mood.
“You know how I like it, lover!” he called back, using his old nickname for you. He had been calling you that for the past three years, ever since a rumour had swirled about the two of you fucking nightly in the cool-room. Manny had quickly put those rumours to bed after introducing the day crew to his now-husband.
You made a mug for him, adding five spoons of sugar and an amount of cream that made your stomach ache. Once you had asked why he didn’t just drink a soda instead, Manny had told you that soda made him gassy in a non-fun way. You had decided to not pry any further into that, lest you find out something you didn’t want to.
“It’s here for you,” you said, placing the steaming mug on the window. Manny got up with a loud, dramatic groan, clutching at his lower back.
“I’m gonna miss your coffee,” he said, taking a long sip of the sugary concoction. You wrinkled your nose and stuck out your tongue.
“It’s not going anywhere,” you said. I’m not going anywhere. You would probably work at this place until you retired or your body gave out. You weren’t like Manny - you had no idea what you wanted to do with your life, no skills or extra intelligence that could take you anywhere meaningful.
Manny cupped his chin in his hands and gave you an innocent, doe-eyed gaze. Anyone else would have been fooled, but you knew there was nothing innocent about this man. “So.”
“So,” you repeated with a raise of your brow, knowing that this was his way of wanting to gossip with you.
“The new guy.”
“It’s definitely a new guy? Not a day crew person?”
“I know you had your heart set on Josh.” Manny clucked sympathetically. “But you’ve got a Frankie, and that’s even better.”
“Who the fuck is Frankie?”
“It’s in the group chat!”
Of course, you were the last to find out about who Manny’s replacement would be. Ethan had asked you to leave the workgroup chat last year, saying that the constant buzzing of your phone annoyed him. You didn’t have the energy to have that argument with him, so you did, much to Manny’s annoyance.
“I showed him the ropes when you were sick last week. He’s pretty good . . . not as good as me though, so don’t even think about replacing me as the number one diner cook in your heart.”
“Number one diner cook and now the number one high school history teacher.” Your chest swelled with pride as you spoke, remembering how hard Manny had worked to be able to achieve this. Endless nights spent revising, his textbooks and laptops perched on whatever empty spot in the kitchen he could find. More than anything you admired his determination, the pure drive for something better that fueled Manny Ortiz.
The door tingled with the sound of a customer, leaving your conversation with Manny to be resumed later. You glanced up at the clock again, a habit that you really needed to break.
Only an hour and two minutes left.
Not that you were counting.
~
Manny waited by his car with his keys in one hand and a cigarette in the other. When he stood like that, with dark circles under his eyes highlighting his prominent cheekbones and the casual confidence of someone too tired to give a fuck, you thought he probably could’ve been a model for one of those high fashion houses.
“Let’s get you home one last time,” he said.
You sat down in the passenger seat, the cracked leather had practically molded to your form.
“Can I tell you something?” your voice was hesitant.
Manny nodded, shooting you a look of concern. “What’s up?”
You cleared your throat, wondering how best to word what you wanted to say without coming across as needy and insecure. “Do you think you’ll still wanna hang with me once you’ve made friends with all the other smart people?”
“Are you being serious right now? Like are you actually being dead serious? Because you know I’m not good at telling when people are joking.”
“Hundred percent serious.”
“Lover, you are one of my best friends. You’re closer to me than my own sister, nothing is going to change that. And for the fucking record, you’re already one of the smart people I hang out with, even if you say some stupid ass shit.”
“I love you,” you said, settling back into your seat.
“I love you too, dickhead,” Manny squeezed your hand. “Jesus, are you crying?”
“I’m sorry!” you choked on a sob. “I’m just gonna miss you so much!”
Manny pulled over outside your apartment complex, a towering building of dirty grey. “We’re seeing each other in a week! Get a hold of yourself!” Manny felt deeply uncomfortable with ‘too much emotion’.
“It’s not gonna be the same.”
“Of course it’s not, no one can emulate me, but honey. . .” Manny wiped away one of your tears, “this new guy, Frankie, he doesn’t seem too bad. You might even get along with him. Now, look at me. Look, change is really hard for both of us, but we’re seeing each other soon. And if you don’t stop crying Ethan is going to notice and probably cause a fight about it.”
You took a deep breath and nodded. Manny was right, as usual, about all of it. This wasn’t the end of the world, even if in your fatigued state it felt like it, and if Ethan found out that you were crying because Manny was moving on to bigger and better things . . . he’d probably speak to you in that way that made you feel so small and stupid. He didn’t mean to make you feel like that, but he just never understood why you would sometimes tear up at the drop of a hat. You felt like if the shoe was on the other foot, you would have found it as annoying as Ethan did. Really, you felt lucky he hadn’t dumped your sensitive ass.
Giving Manny a kiss on his cheek, you hopped out into the cool Fall air, shivering inside your coat. Blowing a final kiss to his car, you stepped inside the old lobby.
~
Frankie knew exactly what it was that drew him to the job at the diner. When he had seen the posting advertised on a board, he knew immediately he wanted that job. Long night hours, hard work, it would leave him exhausted. Exhaustion meant he didn’t dream; when he didn’t dream he didn’t have nightmares.
When he had stepped inside the diner for the first time to meet Lou, the grizzled owner who was missing three teeth and his left eye, Frankie felt like the place would fit him perfectly.
Lou sat him down in one of the booths and explained that there were really only three rules if he wanted to work there; Number one was do not harass any of the staff, sexually or otherwise. Simple enough to follow, Frankie figured, for any decent human. The second rule was not to steal from the registers. Staff got food and coffee for free, within reason. And the third was to try to avoid fighting with customers, but Lou would understand if it was necessary. Fights were sometimes unavoidable at three in the morning.
Lou had hired Frankie on the spot, citing a good feeling (and a lack of other applicants), and told Frankie to come back that night for training by the departing cook.
Manny had ran him through procedures for the rest of that week, setting Frankie at ease that he likely wouldn’t burn the whole place down within his first night of working.
“Marissa isn’t usually the night waitress,” Manny had explained during one of his frequent smoke breaks. “But Junie is sick with the flu, so we’re stuck with her.”
“Junie?”
“June,” Manny clarified, “but I get to call her Junie because we’re in love. She’s every good thing wrapped into one person, you’ll like her.”
Frankie nodded, but Manny didn’t offer any further information on June. He would have to wait another week until his first shift until he got to meet who he assumed would be a sweet older woman close to retirement.

queen anne’s coffee
Tumblr media
A/N: hello everyone! I am not D/deaf or Hard of Hearing. However, this was requested more than once I wanted to do my best to provide. In this story, Y/N is a part of the Deaf community. if I have misrepresented the Deaf community in any way or wrote something inaccurate or offensive, then please DO NOT hesitate to let me know (respectfully, of course!) i wanted to fulfill this person’s request and be as inclusive as i could, as i don’t typically see stories with a Deaf!reader. shes short and sweet but i hope you all enjoy anyway! as always, feedback is very much welcomed and appreciated! :)
Summary: Y/N visits Harry’s coffee shop every Tuesday and Thursday and always orders the same thing. Harry HAS to get to know her!!!
word count: ~1.7k
my ko-fi! thank you :)
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
Every Tuesday and Thursday at exactly 3:50 PM, Y/N placed an online order that consisted of an iced chai tea latte with oat milk and a butter croissant from Harry’s coffee shop, Queen Anne’s Coffee.
Y/N never forgot to add, “warmed up pls! thank you :)” in the section for comments, and she always tipped. She would then come into Harry’s shop approximately ten minutes later, walk up to the ‘pickup’ counter, grab her items, smile at Harry, and promptly leave. Harry never even so much as said hello to her, but he was irrevocably captivated––even if she was a complete stranger.
Harry decided that when Y/N came in today for her usual, he’d finally talk to her.
Business had been unusually slow for a Thursday afternoon but Harry didn’t mind–when Y/N came in, he’d be able to have a proper chat with her without having to rush the conversation along to help other customers. His gaze kept floating up to the cat-shaped clock hanging above the door, anxiously awaiting 3:50 PM when Y/N’s order would come through on the iPad and he got to read the words, “warmed up pls! thank you :)”
Harry didn’t know why he was so nervous to speak to her. As the owner of his very own coffee shop (and it’s only employee), he got to know the people who came in regularly well, even developing genuine friendships with some. It bothered Harry that this beautiful person gave him business two days a week and the only thing he knew about her was her name, which is only because he can see it when she places her order online.
When the iPad Harry keeps plugged up atop the counter chimes, he doesn’t even have to glance at it to know it was Y/N but he does anyway, feelings of excitement bubbling in the pit of his stomach. He was finally going to talk to her! Harry contemplates scribbling his number on the side of her cup as he’s writing her name but decides against it, not wanting to be too forward before they even formally meet.
When Y/N comes in ten minutes later, Harry can immediately sense something is wrong. She hardly looks up once as she shuffles from the door to the counter, hoodie pulled up and drawn tight over her head.
“Are you okay?”
Y/N doesn’t look up or even acknowledge the fact that Harry spoke. Even though there’s only two other people in the shop besides them, Harry figures she might think he was talking to someone else and addresses her by name.
“Y/N?”
She still doesn’t address Harry as she gives him a small smile before hurriedly exiting the shop, the bell above the door signaling her exit.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
When Tuesday comes, Harry’s out of bed before his alarm jolts him from his dreams.
He thought about Y/N all weekend as he impatiently awaited Tuesday’s arrival, excited over the prospect of finally seeing her again. He hoped she was doing better today than she was last week, and he really hoped she was in the mood to chat with him today.
Harry’s grateful the shop is busy today. It helps to keep his mind off of Y/N, and his eyes off the clock. When the iPad chimes at 3:50 on the dot, Harry decides he’ll wait until she comes in to prepare her order. It didn’t take him over two minutes, anyway. He figures this will give him a bit more time to chat with her, at least say hello and see if she’s doing better.
Much to his pleasure, Y/N has a big smile on her face when she bursts through the door ten minutes later. She floats to the pickup counter, then furrows her eyebrows in confusion as she looks up at Harry.
“Sorry, I’m working on your order right now,” Harry grabs a purple marker off the counter, scribbling Y/N’s name on the cup used for iced drinks. “How’s your day so far?”
Harry watches as Y/N cocks her head to the side in confusion, then pulls her phone out of the back pocket of her jeans. She quickly types something before holding her phone out for Harry to take.
“I can’t hear you! I’m Deaf.”
A look of realization floods Harry’s face as he reads what she said. He now understood why Y/N didn’t answer him when he tried speaking to her last week, and he’s secretly relieved that she wasn’t ignoring him because she hated him or anything like that.
“I know a bit of sign!” Harry types before handing Y/N back her phone. He watches as her eyes skim his words and she looks up, a toothy grin plastered on her face.
“Great! This is much faster.” Her hands move quickly as she signs. “Did my order work or not? Wi-Fi is bad at home today.”
Harry realizes he doesn’t know as much sign language as he thought he did.
“OK. I am rusty.”
Y/N smiles at this and pulls her phone back out, typing what she just signed to him before passing it back to him. A look of realization floods Harry’s face as he learns she was just asking if her order came through alright, seeing as it was not yet ready. Too embarrassed to tell her he intentionally waited until she arrived to prepare her order, he just nods.
“I’ll have it ready in no more than two minutes… and refund you, too. I’m sorry for the wait.” Harry looks up at Y/N as he passes the phone to her, eyes not leaving her face as he tries to gauge her reaction.
“No!” Her head shakes as she signs. “Happy to pay. Thank you.”
Harry understands Y/N but refunds her, anyway.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
“Why do you always come Tuesday and Thursday? Same time?”
“Exams every Tuesday and Thursday.” The look of obvious dissatisfaction on Y/N’s face makes Harry laugh. “Your chai and pastries cheer me up after.”
Harry’s face turns red at Y/N’s admittance, so he instead looks down, pretending he’s distracted by something on the iPad. He decides at that moment that he will no longer charge Y/N for her oat milk latte and croissant. She was a college student after all––if her financial situation was like Harry’s in any way when he was in college earning his business degree, it would probably be beneficial for her to save her money, anyhow.
Ever since Harry and Y/N’s first real interaction, Y/N had been coming into Queen Anne’s nearly every day, school supplies and laptop in tow. She always sat at the table closest to the front counter, directly in Harry’s line of vision so they could sign to each other.
Y/N provided Harry with some much needed (and enjoyed) company when business was slow, and she was helping him brush up on his sign language. Harry learned that Y/N is Deaf; her hearing is completely gone in her left ear and almost completely gone in the right. She’s the only person in her family who is Deaf. She also hated eggs, is lactose intolerant (hence the oat milk), has two older siblings, is a master’s student, and a plethora of other things that Harry had committed to memory.
“Thank you. I’m glad you enjoy.”
“Who is A-N-N-E?”
Harry grins. “My mother. Back in London.”
Y/N’s eyes widen. “London? Amazing! You must have an accent.”
It dawns on Harry that Y/N has never heard his voice before. “Yes. Are you from here?” Y/N nods in response.
“Whole life. Small town, but it’s home.” Her pinched hand moves quickly from her mouth up to her ear.
“Sorry. What?”
“H-O-M-E.”
A look of realization floods Harry’s face as he nods in response, signaling for Y/N to give him a moment as the bell above the entrance jingles. It seems as if the few people who walk through the door act as a catalyst for others to enter, and soon Queen Anne’s is at maximum occupancy and Harry is trying to make several drinks at once while taking orders. He locks eyes with Y/N a few times and she gives him a sympathetic look, not able to do much to help him out.
Harry decides that once business dies back down, he’ll find out if Y/N is interested in a part-time job.
⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
Y/N was interested in a part-time job.
She was a fast learner and a hard worker. Harry was more than delighted to show her how to make every drink on the menu, and consume her failed attempts. It was nice having someone else behind the counter with him––he wished he’d gone about hiring someone to help him much sooner, but he was glad to now have Y/N by his side.
“So much chai! I thought only I drank this stuff.”
Harry’s gaze lingers on Y/N for a beat too long, causing her to shift slightly. Harry’s hand moves to scratch the back of his neck. “Yes. I like chai. With milk.” His hand forms a ‘C’ then closes to form an ‘S’ twice for the word “milk”.
“Regular?” One of Y/N’s eyebrows raises as she asks her question, setting a hot chai latte atop the “pickup” counter.
“S-O-Y.”
Y/N lets out a quiet snort of laughter as she shakes her head. It was the first time Harry ever made her laugh out loud. After hearing her laugh once, he never wanted to stop––it was music to his ears. “Not surprised!”
Harry’s eyes crinkle at the corners. “Why?” His eyes remain on Y/N as she walks around the small area, cleaning up a small coffee spill she had earlier.
“You just are a S-O-Y boy, H. My S-O-Y boy!”
Harry’s cheeks immediately turn pink as they did the first time Y/N said something that flustered him, but he doesn’t look away.
“You’re my O-A-T girl.”
⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
Thank you everyone for reading!!! This is only the beginning of Y/N and Harry I think <33

Ashie would Leon like it if you painted on him 👉👈👉👈👉👈 creating pretty sunsets and galaxies on his skin and ejebwjebeiebej
bc im an artist and think drawing on people is smth v fun to me and lowkey intimate (TO ME. I ENJOY DOODLING ON PEOPLE I LIKE-), this came out a bit more self-indulgent than I wanted it to be </3 i'd draw on you
why does this blurb hold a close place to my heart already, idk, but I'm not gonna look so much into it </3
Leon would be a bit hesitant at first, knowing the chemicals in paint are toxic. Hell, he witnessed you drinking from your paint water cup and go through five stages of 'holy-fuck-my-stomach-is-DYING'. Besides, he didn't think his body was a clean blank canvas. Scars painted them before you got to do it first with colours and brushes.
You had a habit of doodling mindlessly, especially if you were in a bad mood. Leon picked up on it when you were sitting on the couch with a pen in your hand, drawing little shrooms and flowers on your arm.
So when he found you by the coffee table after a long day of work and commissions with a pen in your hand, he knew you needed a canvas. A live one.
"Hey, sweetheart." Leon greeted you gently, kneeling down beside your form, "Whatcha doodling over there?"
"Nothin'" You mumbled and he peered over at your arm. You were drawing clouds.
"I like that one," He praised, tenderly taking your arm into his hand to get a closer look at the swirly clouds and your tired eyes looked up at him.
"Really?" You looked back down at it, tilting your head a little with a frown, "I think it looks like cotton candy."
Leon chuckled, caressing your skin with his thumb, biting back the urge to say 'and you taste like one' but instead nodded at your used up alcohol wipes, "How long have you been at this?"
You glanced at the ink dyed wipes, grumbling, "About 30 minutes? My skin feels like it's gonna burn off."
Leon clicked his tongue, "Can't have you do that to yourself then."
Your eyebrows shot up when he began unbuttoning his shirt then smiled apologetically, cheeks dusted a little red, "Leon, I'm sorry but I'm really not in the mood."
He laughed a little at that, "I'm aware of that, sweetheart. How about you use me as your canvas instead?"
Your eyes perked up at his, visibly lighting up, "Really?"
"Really." He slipped it off completely, setting it onto the couch behind you, "Now hurry up before I change my mind."
In his years of knowing you, he never saw you run so fast to your painting room and return with a handful of paint and a small pink cup of water.
"Alright, Picasso," Leon stretched, making your eyes scan his toned chest and your canvas, "Where do you want me to be?"
On the couch is where you wanted him to sit and you on his lap. Leon could practically see the tiredness in your eyes shift to a more relaxed one, eyes soft with love as they followed your brush leaving behind a trail of orange mixed with space purple.
His hands were on your hips, caressing your skin through his shirt that you always 'borrowed'. You'd sometimes smudge in a line between two colours with the tip of your finger, tracing the faint scar right under his collarbone.
For his comfort, you made sure to go gentler on his scars, muttering 'so beautiful' and 'pretty' under your breath subconsciously because his scars showed how much he was giving to the world; how much he was doing to keep the people safe.
Leon found the moment soothing, contrasting deeply with his line of work. You within his reach and more, painting his skin with a picture so ethereal, he wouldn't wish for something more. His blue eyes gazed at yours lovingly, you not noticing his love-struck orbs.
When you finally did, your cheeks turned redder at the intensity of his stare. Not out of discomfort, but at how much adoration he was emitting without saying a word.
Leon closed the distance between your lips to lace his with yours ever so tenderly, but he made sure to not move his chest much as to not mess up your painting.
"You mean so much to me, alright? Don't feel shy coming to me when you need me." He whispered against your lips when you two parted, "I'll be here whenever and wherever you want me to be."
Your eyes stung slightly with tears, having been feeling overwhelmed with everything, and you nodded, smiling softly which he returned.
"Thank you, Leon."

Part 2: Dispatch: Labour in Progress
----
“How does the baby look ?” Maddie was laid back, her eyes on the monitor. “Perfect, a perfect little baby” you smile at her as you hand her a towel to wipe up the gel.
“How many copies would you like ?” you turn towards the ultrasound machine.
“As many as you'd give me” she laughed, pulling her shirt back down.
“Dad’s working ?” you asked, leaning back in the chair. “Yeah, he’s been trying to get off a day to come with me” she sits up, pulling out her phone.
Maddie was one of your favourite patients, she was a sweetheart and always happy, regardless of what was happening, you didn't know how she did it. She began showing you a few pictures of the nursery and two guys who were in the picture. The first guy was Chimney, who was the baby’s father and Maddie’s boyfriend, the two of you had met at a previous appointment and the other guy, who you hadn't meant yet but felt like you had, was her brother Evan or Buck, which is what he went by.
“You know, if you want to just come in one day when he's off work, we can just do a regular check-up just so he can see. It doesn’t have to be anything special for you to come in”
“You’d do that ?”
“Of course I would, between me and you, you’re my favourite patient”
Maddie smiled at you, “so,” she gave you a look, “since I am your favourite patient, would you also go on a date with Buck ?” she asked, you nearly choked on your coffee. Maddie had a habit of trying to set you up with her brother. She did it often but it still caught you off guard each time. You coughed, “Maddie, no.” you laughed, “that would be unprofessional”
“Oh come on, take a risk y/n. Life goes on and one date won't kill you”
“Who said I’m looking ?”
“Please, you are. You can't lie to me” she smiled, you shook your head. “Still a no Maddie” you handed her the copies of the ultrasound. “If you do want to do the ultrasound when he’s home, just give me a call” you smiled at her and she got up. “I will, thank you”
--
A few weeks later and Maddie was back in your office. “Good afternoon momma,” you were looking at the files as you walked in, pushing the door shut with your foot. Taking a seat on your little spinny chair, you look up when Maddie says good morning back to you.
“Oh Chimney, it’s nice to see you” you smile as you shake the gel bottle.
“Yeah,” he chuckled, “it’s good to be here”
You hand him the gel bottle, he looked at you with brows furrowed. “You’re a paramedic, aren't you ? Go ahead” you chuckle as you turn the ultrasound machine on. “How are you feeling ?” you ask, “good actually, thanks for asking” Chim answers you.
“I’m glad to hear that but I was asking Maddie” Chim’s mouth forms an O and he nods, Maddie smiles at him. “I’m good, baby’s good too. Kicking a lot recently. Especially when I drink orange juice” she chuckled.
“And still just the one cup of coffee ?”
“Yeah, he won’t let me have anymore” she groans
“Good, as he should be. You’re lucky I agreed to the one cup Maddie, you know I rather if you didn’t”
“Ugh,” she groaned and rolled her eyes, “not you too”
“I’m your doctor, it's my job to remind you unfortunately”
Maddie sighs and rolls her eyes once again. You get what she meant, you couldn’t be pregnant and not have coffee, pregnancy is exhausting as it is, imagine it without coffee. “you know how to use an ultrasound machine right ?” you look over at Chimney, who was looking rather confused.
”I do, why ?”
“Would you like to do it ?”
“Really ?”
“Yeah, I let the dads have a chance to do it sometime. Makes them feel a little more involved”
“I'd love too”
You hand him the wand and step back, you watch as he rolls it across her belly. It was always sweet when the fathers came to the appointment, even more so when they're involved.
“Y/n?”
“Yes Maddie?”
“Will you go on a date with Buck ?” She smiled sweetly at you, Chim looked at her, half shocked and half confused.
“If I say yes to one date, will you quit bugging me about it ?”
“Of course, just one date is all I’m asking for”
“Does he know you’re setting him up ?”
“Yeah- well no ? but he won't mind. It's part of my job as his sister”
“Maddie, I have siblings as well, you don't see me setting them up”
“Yeah yeah, that’s fine”
Chim turned to you. “everything looks good doc”
“Then we’re all done. Just hit print on the machine and you’ll get the pictures”
Maddie wiped the gel off her stomach. She took a pen from the desk and scribbled a number down before handing the paper to you. “That’s his number, just message him”
“You’re setting me up and I have to message him too ?”
“Oh come on, you’ll be fine. Thank you for this and I'll be expecting details at my next appointment!” She gave you a smile before walking out. Chim looked at you, “I’m sorry I didn't know she was going to do that.” You laughed, “it's okay, she’s not the first person to do that. You should catch up with her though, she walks really fast for a pregnant lady” you chuckle, Chim smiled and walked out to find Maddie. You had some time to kill before your next appointment, you looked down at the paper in your hand.
Do you text or not ? Wouldn't that be creepy ? Like oh hey, I'm your sister’s doctor let's go on a date.
You know what ?
Screw it, what’s the worst that could happen.
To Buck: Hey, I'm y/n. Your sister gave me your number, hope this isn't weird. She's been trying to set me up with you for months, thought we’d hit it off haha
God that was so stupid. Why the hell did you put haha ?
From Buck: Hey, it’s cool. She’s weird like that. What’s up ?
Oh shit, he answered.
To Buck: Just at work, how about you ?
From Buck: Same thing
Wait what do I say now ? Do you ask him out ?
From Buck: Hope this isn't too forward of me or anything like that, but maybe you’d wanna grab a drink tonight ? Only if you’re free
Guess you don't have to ask him now
To Buck: Yeah, that sounds good. Pick a place and let me know ? I’m off at 4 so anytime after that is fine.
From Buck: I’m off at 6, how about 7 at the bar on Main Street ?
To Buck: sounds good, see you then
It was now 3:30 and Maddie was your last patient of the day. There was no harm in leaving now. After putting away your files and replying to a few emails from patients, you headed out. Only one issue you had when you got home was what to wear.
Well so you thought.
Taking a shower was the easy part, trying to do your hair and makeup with only 2 hours left, was a bit of a hassle. First disaster of the night was too much mousse in your hair, making it sticky and tacky. Washing it out, you managed to set it the way you like. The powder compact had fallen onto the floor, you hoped it wasn’t broken, turns out hope isn't enough. The other powder you had was far too light for your complexion right now and you decide against makeup for the night.
Let him meet the bare you, you can wow him next time, if there is a next time.
Deciding on a simple outfit, a white shirt that fit you nicely and a pair of black pants that went along with it. In your head, it seemed boring but in the mirror, it looked much better. Walking into the kitchen, there was a half drunk glass of wine from the night before.
Stale wine or nervous wreak ? Stale wine it is.
You down the wine, spilling some onto your shirt. “Are you kidding-” groaning and turning back to the room, you end up changing your entire outfit. A pair of blue jeans and a black top that fit you in all the right places. One more look in the mirror and a hand through your hair, you headed out the door.
It didn't take you long to arrive at the bar, as you only lived a few minutes off Main Street. You had seen Buck from the countless pictures Maddie had shown you so it didn’t take long to spot in at a table in the corner either.
“Hey” you walked over, a smile on your face. He stood up, “Hi! you must be y/n” he leaned in for a hug, you mirrored his actions. “I am, it’s nice to meet you”
The two of you sat across from each other and there was a bottle of beer in front of you. Buck spoke up when he noticed you noticing the bottle, “I ordered for you, I hope that's alright- you can order something else”
“It’s fine, thank you” you take a sip, not your usual choice in drink but you didn't need to complain either. There was some silence for a while, not uncomfortable but not comfortable either. Anyone that passed by could tell it was a first date, if you could even call it that.
“How do you know Maddie ?” he asks, you smile at him and take a sip of the beer before answering him.
“I’m her OB”
“Her ?” Buck had a confused expression on his face.
“Her doctor, her obstetrician actually”
“Oh for baby Buckley” he nodded.
“Yeah, she's been bugging me about you since we’ve met actually. She’s sweet but she’s persistent” you chuckle and Buck gives you a smile, “that’s my sister”
The night went by rather quickly, the two of you sharing work stories. Buck told you about the time he worked a full moon and they responded to a call at a yoga class only to have 3 women go into labour simultaneously.
“It was the full moon I swear! I tried to tell Bobby but he didn't listen to me!” he said, laughing.
You nodded and laughed too, “no, it’s true. I've had so many full moon babies. I never book off full moons because I know someone is going to go into labour”
“Thank you! Someone gets what I mean!”
You then told him about the time you filled in for your colleague, he told you it was supposed to be a regular birth but turns out it was quadruplets. It was nice to find someone who understood your weird work schedule. The two of you shared stories until the waitress came over to tell you that they’d be closing in a few minutes. It was a little past midnight when she came over, the two of you decided to call it a night and head out together.
“How are you getting home ?” he asked you, you walked with him over to his Jeep that was parked down the street. “I’ll just walk, I don’t live too far from here”
“No” he stated while shaking his head
“No ?” you questioned him, your brows furrowed as you looked at the man in front of you.
“I invited you out, at least let me take you home. It’s late too, it won't be right to let you walk home by yourself”
“Are you sure ? I don't want you to go out of your way”
“Oh no it’s cool, c’mon”
He opened the door for you like the gentlemen he is and then got in after. “Which way my darling ?” he gave you a cheesy smile which made you chuckle. “A left at the next light and the brown building is me” you leaned back in the seat. It was quiet as he drove down the street, you looked over at him and admired him. From the way his hand rested on his wheel to the little smile on his face, even to the birthmark above his eye.
“It's rude to stare”
“Can't help myself, you're pretty”
Oh shit, did you just-
Buck looked over at you, a wicked little smile on his face. “You think I’m pretty ?”
You could feel the blush on your face, “uh- well- um I guess ?”
“I think you more than guess that but whatever you say” he smiled
Buck pulled into the building parking lot, he stopped and his head hit the seat as he leant back. Looking over at you, “let me walk you up ?”
“You’ve already done enough, it's fine”
“It’s fine. Come on” he got out, you mirrored his actions. Buck followed behind you as the two of you made your way up to your apartment. Unlocking the door, you stepped in and he stood by the door.
“Do you want to come in ?” setting your keys on the counter, you look back at the man who was leaning against the doorframe.
“I’d love too but I've got the first shift. Maybe another time ?”
“Yeah, that’s fine” walking back over to him, you stood in front of him. Even with him leaning, he still towered over you.
“I had a nice time tonight” you say, he nods. “I did too. Maybe we can do this again sometime ?”
“I'd like that”
“Okay.” he smiles, “well, good night then y/n”
“Good night Buck” standing on your toes, you go to kiss his cheek but it seems he had the same idea, both of you turning your heads at the same time and your lips were on his. Buck’s hand cupped your face for the few moments your lips were on his. When you pulled away, Buck had a slight red tint on his face, a blush or simply could have been the heat coming from your apartment, either way you were sure you looked the same way.
“How does Saturday sound ? Noon for lunch if you’re free ?” he breaks the silence.
"Saturday sounds perfect”
Buck smiled at you once more, he turned and began walking back to the elevator. He stopped in the middle of the hallway, turning back once again and walked towards your door.  He leaned down and gave you one more kiss. Laughing at the sweetheart that was now smiling at you from the other end of the hallway, you watched as he stepped on the elevator and then shut your door.
Outside of your building was a happy Buck who skipped his way over to his car, his keys twirling on his finger with a big grin on his face. As he got into his car, he sent his sister a text message.
To Maddie: You seem to know me better than I think, thank you.
Upstairs, there was a similar scene, a happy you skipping their way to bed with a smile on their face. As you laid in bed, you too sent a text message to Maddie.
To Maddie: Your match making efforts have worked, thank you.

Tumblr media
SYNPOSIS:
Katsuki, your boyfriend, made sure EVERYONE knew that you were his. Well, for the most part at least. He was not one for PDA since he still liked his privacy. You know, some things are better left just for the two of you to enjoy behind the scenes. But this habit of his led to something else... So when you were both out for a short coffee date that you had somehow managed to arrange amidst your busy schedules, Katsuki was beyond fuming to see an extra trying to flirt with you.
Tumblr media
The smell of roasted coffee beans filled your nose as your boyfriend gently opened the door to the cafe you frequented. The rich bitter fragrance, with a hint of its inviting warmth, filled the atmosphere. It made your mouth water and yearn for that creamy, smooth drink. The subtle chatter of the customers, the clinking of cups, and other cutlery gently grazed your hearing. Nostalgic. That was the best way to put how you felt right now. It took you back to your first date with Katsuki, and though he will never admit it, this exact coffee shop is his favorite date spot. The subtle way his hand slipped out from yours as you two approached the counter interrupted your train of thought.
"Katsuki?" You questioned.
"I'll be back. I need to go to the toilet real quick. Don't order without me, okay?"
"Of course!"
With that, he shuffled his way through a couple of people before disappearing out of your vision. Awkwardly, you made your way off to the side elsewhere. In your little corner of the shop, you eyed people regularly coming in and out of the cafe. Admittedly, aimlessly standing there observing people was a tad bit uncomfortable and honestly creepy, but you knew Katsuki wouldn't take long. Well, you hoped so, at least.
Your solitude, however, did not last long. It took barely a couple of minutes before one of the people who had entered the establishment locked their eyes with yours. Not only did they maintain their gaze on you, but they even began making their way to you. In embarrassment, you glanced off to the side, eyes glued to where you last saw Katsuki go, awaiting to see his familiar face in the masses. To your disappointment, he wasn't there. And now this stranger was right next to you.
"waiting for your order, sweetheart?" A scratchy husk voice questioned, nudging their shoulder to yours almost in a joking manner. You didn't take lightly to the friendly gesture, feeling somewhat violated by the invasion of personal space.
"I haven't ordered yet" You smiled briskly, finally facing the person beside you. Your response only acted as an open invitation for this complete randomer to get even closer, their hand slithering around your waist.
"How about I buy you a drink, darling? How does that sound?" Though you tried to budge, it felt as though it only made the stranger cling to you tighter.
As your heart drummed against your chest, you pleaded for Katsuki to get back soon. And to your delight, you heard his familiar voice as he obnoxiously cleared his throat.
The man's seemingly tight grasp on you loosened, taking a few steps back from you as he glanced back at your boyfriend.
"You with them?" The stranger asked, seemingly anxious. It didn't take long until Katsuki interlocked his fingers with yours, palms sweaty and his grip firm.
"The fuck do you think, dumbass?"
You knew Bakugou wanted to raise his voice, but you saw his restraint.  He was clenching his jaw as he spoke through gritted teeth. And worst of all, you could see the hazy distress in his eyes as he stared down at the man in front of him. Perhaps he was holding back to save you the humiliation of causing a stir in your favorite cafe, or maybe this was his breaking point. You never really knew what went through Katsuki's head, but the defeat you sensed come from him had you worried.
"Stop just looking at me and fuck off already." Katsuki spat out before dragging you out of the coffee shop.
Oddly enough, you'd think him aggressively yelling would depict his frustration more. Only, in this case, his silence was deafening. He marched around Tokyo's streets as you delayed behind him, his hand refusing to let go of yours
"Katsuki! Hold on!" You just barely let out. "We are going home." He spoke bluntly. "Do you not have to be back to work in 20 minutes?" With a frustrated sigh escaping his parted lips, he came to a halt.
"Then can we hurry up and get home, y/n?" Facing you, he spoke in a beaten tone.
He squeezed your hand tighter in reassurance before resuming his stride, only this time walking at a more manageable pace for you to keep up.
"You know I hate it when those extras try and talk to you. It's my fault for leaving you alone." He avoided eye contact as he stared up ahead, his car coming into view.
"And I know it's not your fault that dumbasses like that approach you but it still frustrates me, you know. Like, at least if you're with me, the bare minimum I could do is make sure those jerks know their place."
You always knew he was protective over you, usually never hesitating to bark out at those who tried to approach you, yet this time was different. This time felt like he was fed up beyond recognition. A random stranger flirting with you interrupted the date you two had managed to arrange after weeks of not having any alone time.
"Please don't stress yourself over that, baby! I promise you don't have to worry. I don't want anyone but you." You reassured, encircling yourself around his arm. Pulling out his car keys, you heard the familiar chime of his car unlocking.
"I know. It's still gonna annoy me nonetheless, though. How fucking hard is it for them to understand that you're mine and not theirs?"
Swiftly, he lowered you into the car seat as you unhooked yourself from his arm. You waited as he rounded the car, taking his seat next to you. Dropping his head back, he let out another frustrated sigh.
You didn’t know how exactly to break this tension that was between you two. You clasped his hand before saying the only thing that you knew that Katsuki could never turn down.
"Then make sure they know I'm yours." you challenged with a slight grin on your face.
He raised a brow at you, doubtingly but regardless, you could see him try and contain the smile that was growing in his face.
"Do you really want to challenge me to that?" His face lit up as he tilted it towards you.
"You have 15 minutes before you have to be back at work. Do your best-" But before you could fully complete your sentence, his lips had already fallen on yours. This wasn’t exactly the way you expected him to accept your challenge. But how could you deny him?
"I'll make sure everyone knows who you fucking belong to, darling." His breath trickled down your neck as he nibbled at your ear, causing goosebumps to dance down your skin. Butterflies swarmed your stomach as you began to feel excited for what he would do next.
His silky lips glided against every inch of  exposed skin and his hands didn't hesitate to caress everything his lips couldn't reach.  Lightly, he raised his head once more, his darkened crimson eyes peering at you with his signature stare. Gaze dipping lower down your face, he studied your lips, glazed in his previous embrace.
His plump mouth reconnected with yours, gently melting against you. The taste of caramel dripping from his tongue as it swiped your bottom lip. You savored every taste of him, granting him access. Delicate yet rough, he readily explored your mouth. Whirling his tongue around yours, before pulling away to tug at your lip. From gently pecks, to deep french kisses, he kept you guessing every time he leaned back in. And he continued to devour you, breathlessly pressing further into you as he only ventured you further. His hands crawling up your shirt, kneading your waist as he drove his chest towards yours. There was no space left between you two. The thrashing of his heart more noticeable than ever, you felt the adrenaline that ran around his body similarly to your own. Breathless, he parted from you. His cheeks scattered in a pink shimmer as his chest rose up and down as he panted for air.
"Hope on" He motioned to his lap.
And you did just that, throwing one leg over and repositioning yourself to rest above him.
His hands resumed their adventure, leisurely inching up your thighs as his thumbs rubbed in circles. Higher and higher Katsuki's hands reached, and you grew more feverish by the moment. Eyes fluttering to his lips and next down his body, you felt the pit of your stomach lust in anticipation and nervousness.
"Don't tease me now! You know we don't have time" You whined, rocking yourself against him before leaning in to meet his lips. But, he yanked away.
"Say please" He tipped his head, a taunting grin plastered across his face. You couldn't help but feel yourself get warm at his words, a drop of embarrassment streaming through you.
"P-please" You somewhat stammered, but Bakugou adhered to his word, cupping your face and drawing you back towards himself.
His hands slipped up your back, chilly fingers hovering just above your skin as they traced up and down the ridges of your spine. But these more satiny touches soon turned desperate once more. You were met by the clawing of his nails against your back. Down, his lips crept to your neck where he resumed his caresses. Gentle squirms and cries hung from your lips as you felt every lick his cushiony tongue made, every moment his teeth immersed into your skin, and every kiss he settled thereafter. There was no doubt he had left marks and it excited your body all over as you heaved for air. Tugging yourself to him, he bucked his hips up causing a groan to leave him, his breath lingering softly as it cascaded across the back of your neck. The feeling of his hardened cock leaving you craving for more.
But before you continue your endeavor, the sound of an alarm broke you from one another. Bakugou reached for his phone before being greeted with the message he wanted to see the least right now.
'work starts in 3 minutes'
This only meant you'd have to continue what you two had started after work, which only riled you two on more.
“I’ll finish you off at home. Got it?”

fitting in
bucky x reader

To say Bucky’s glad to have Steve would be an understatement. He’s delighted and overjoyed to have a best friend, a brother who never gave up on him, who saved him, who brought Bucky to the compound, a place he calls home and introduced him to his teammates, the people Steve wholeheartedly loves. Steve’s family in a way. Bucky’s happy for Steve, he really is, but sometimes he feels jealous, and sometimes, he cannot help, but wonder how would it feel like to fit in, to have the same friendships Steve has with the others. He’s drinking his morning coffee when y/n comes into the kitchen at 6:03am. She rubs her sleep painted face, and he smiles, offering to make her a cup. Grateful, she sits down, watching him try and figure out the espresso machine. He, himself, never uses it, preferring to make coffee the 1940s way, with a kettle and coffee grounds, but he remembers y/n making a disgruntled face every time Steve hands her an old-fashioned cup of coffee, and so even though he doesn’t understand how the machine works, he’s modern enough to know that pressing the ‘black coffee’ button will make her a cup she’ll actually like. He doesn’t say anything when she pours, what seems like, half a bottle of creamer, either, even if he doesn’t understand it. She smiles after taking a sip, and it brightens Bucky’s heart. Ironically, he’s always more careful around y/n, because she’s the nicest, and she made him feel welcome from day one. Bucky doesn’t want to lose her trust. He smiles to himself when she pats a chair, inviting him to sit right next to her, and he gladly accepts it, sitting down so close, their arms brush against each others. Neither speak up as they drink their coffee in comfortable silence, and watch as the rising sun paints the sky in warm orange and golden hues. He puts his mug down, studying her as she closes her eyes, relishing in the warmth coming through the window, and strangely, he feels more content than he did in the last 70 years. But then she suddenly opens her eyes, startling Bucky and he accidentally moves his arm, in turn knocking his cup down, and the boiling beverage spills down y/n’s old t-shirt. Wide-eyed, he start mumbling something along the lines of sorry and it was an accident, but she puts a hand on Bucky’s shoulder, and slightly smiles at him before disappearing from the kitchen. A sight makes its way past his lips and Bucky lets his head fall down, forehead hitting the hard marble.
Embarrassment washes over him again when he and Steve enter the gym for their 12pm training session, and he sees her. y/n’s standing in the boxing ring, having changed out of the t-shirt into a more sparring appropriate outfit of a workout bra and leggings. “Ready to get your asses kicked, boys?” She laughs, the sound of it coming teasing and sweet. Rolling his eyes, Steve puts a hand on Bucky’s shoulder when they walk up to the girl.
“I’m not fighting today, but I’m sure Bucky’s ready.” Bucky smiles timidly upon hearing Steve’s voice and straightens his shoulders. He nods his head, throwing his towel to the side, and chooses to climb up into the ring from the side instead of using the stairs. Bucky’s tall, so it’s easy, and y/n playfully rolls her eyes when they’re standing eye-to-eye.
“Show off.” y/n teases, but Bucky has no chance to reply, as she swings herself onto him just seconds later, wrapping her legs around his head, and throwing Bucky to the floor in a couple swift moves. They lock eyes for a bit, and y/n tilts her head, as if asking why he’s not moving, but Bucky quickly recollects himself, grabbing onto her ankle, and bringing her down onto the floor before she can attack him further. She swiftly gets up, Bucky following right after, and for a couple moments they just walk, both in fighting positions, and both ready to attack when the time will seem right to do so. She gets behind him, and when Bucky tries quickly turning around, he accidentally lifts his metal arm up, hitting y/n in the stomach so hard, she falls out of the ring and on the hard floor, groaning. Steve jumps up from his spot, running to check up on y/n, but thankfully, she’s uninjured, the only sign of the accident being an already forming bruise on her right shoulder. “It’s my fault, really.” She groans out, but Bucky does not seem to hear that. y/n leaves the gym shortly after that, and Bucky tells Steve about the coffee incident, stopping him before the blonde has any chances of making fun of the man.
It’s 3:12pm, when the shower in Bucky’s bathroom runs out of hot water and he’s walking up to Steve’s room. Usually, he’d knock before entering someone’s room, but it’s Steve’s, and Bucky knows Steve stayed behind for an extra cardio session. Shaking his head at the blonde’s passion for working out, he strips off his clothing, and enters the bathroom. It’s warm and a little foggy, almost as if someone was just showering, but Bucky’s not fazed, thinking it was probably Steve that came down to shower before his run, a towel still left close to the shower’s curtain. Neatly placing a clean outfit and a pair of boxers on the sink’s edge, he looks at himself in the mirror. If he thought spilling boiling coffee down his crush’s t-shirt or knocking her down was embarrassing, his ungodly thoughts seem downright shameful. A war happens inside his mind as he looks down at his hard-on, but Bucky needs this, he needs to let down some steam. Grasping the sink, Bucky palms his dick in his hand; he thinks back to her legs wrapped around him, and the way her ass, covered in lacy panties, peaked from under her shirt this morning. It’s only when an involuntary moan slips past his lips, does y/n fully understand how much trouble she’s in. Her shower had run out of hot water when she’s gotten back from the gym, so she went over to Steve’s without thinking much about it. Except now she’s soapy and wet, stuck in his shower, with only a curtain between her and Bucky, and she’s pretty sure those are moans that she’s hearing. Her mouth drops open when she realises she might be listening to Steve and Bucky having sex, and when the thought fully settles in her mind, she vows to herself to never use other people’s showers without asking. It’s both a relief and a nightmare, when a metal arm pushes the curtain open and a naked, mortified Bucky stares back at her. Her gaze drifts to his hard on for a moment, before she closes her eyes all together. Bucky tries his best to not let his eyes wonder around her body, but the image of her, seemingly perfect, curves already carved deep, deep into his brain. Closing the curtain, he hears the water start running again, before a hand reaches for a towel, and seconds later, y/n steps out, wrapped in the fluffy, white material. She tries smiling at him, but he’s still naked, as in the midst of shock he forgot to cover himself, and it’s awkward as hell, so y/n quickly scurries past Bucky, and out of Steve’s room completely. Looking down, Bucky sights. “How in the fucking hell are you still up?”
When the whole teams comes to the dining room for their usual 8pm dinner, Bucky’s too mortified and embarrassed to look y/n in the eyes. He can sense she also feels awkward, avoiding him as much as possible, setting the table up and bringing dish after dish from the kitchen. When she comes out with the final plate, the only open seat is next to Bucky, and even though she still feels weird, she reluctantly sits down, and even smiles at him slightly. Everyone’s plates are full, and people have started eating when Steve sparks a conversation.
“So, all the hot water in my room was gone when I got back.” He focuses on Bucky and y/n. “Either of you have something to say?” Shaking her head no, y/n continues eating her meal, playing innocent and smiles at their Captain. “What about you, Buck?” Sighting, he puts his fork down, and looks at his best friend.
“Alright, I took a shower in your room, because mine was broken.” He admits, hoping Steve will leave the topic alone, but strangely, he doesn’t.
“At least two people had to shower in my room to use up the hot water.” Bucky can only hope his face isn’t flaming red, but he can feel the heat rising up to his cheeks and spreading down his neck. Noticing Steve’s waiting for an answer, y/n turns to Tony.
“I can’t believe you’re a billionaire, but half of the showers at the compound are broken.”
“y/n, I also found your panties in my bathroom.” Choking on her bite, y/n takes a sip of her drink, before meeting Steve’s eyes. Everyone’s looking at y/n and Bucky, Tony’s amused face doing nothing, but fuelling y/n’s anger. “Did you and Bucky shower together?”
If Bucky could have just one wish, he’d wish for the Earth to swallow him whole in that very moment. “Steve, we were not showering.” Bucky blurts out, realising how insinuating it sounds only when half of the team’s jaws drop to the floor.
“Did you have sex instead?” Natasha asks, a teasing smile on her face.
“No!” They both blurt out at the same time, faces heated up in embarrassment. Bucky looks at y/n apologetically, and raises his eyes back to Steve.
“We didn’t-“ he starts “I didn’t-“ he tries to form a sentence, but keeps choking over his words. Knowing the team won’t believe them either way, y/n takes over for Bucky.
“Steve, Bucky and I are sorry for not leaving you any hot water. The rest of you can go back to eating.” Y/n has that overly sweet smile on her face, but when she turns to Bucky, her face softens, and she rubs his shoulder, whispering it’s not worth it. And so he drops the topic, leaving it alone, and goes back to eating his meal in quiet. But for what seemed like the worst day ever, it’s not so bad; it’s the first time Sam doesn’t make a joke where his teammates laugh at Bucky, instead laughing with him, and it’s the first time Tony smiles, genuinely smiles at him, gesturing to y/n when she isn’t looking and holding thumbs up. And when the sun has hidden all the way, and the time for sleep has come, y/n smiles at him before disappearing into her room, and, yeah, he thinks, I guess it wasn’t such a bad day after all.

Tumblr media
Service has been slow. So slow, that you’re sure your head will roll off your neck from the number of times you’ve looked at the clock behind you. The copper hands of the round object tick obnoxiously, making you bring a hand up to your temple to rub firmly.
Closing your eyes, you loll your head back to stare at the grainy ceiling in hopes that the bell above the glass door would chime. You move your head back to stare blankly at the door before you run your hands over the brown apron on your hips, the fabric harsh against your fingers.
You then bend down to lean your head on your palm in a bored manner while you watch the countless pedestrians walk past the coffee shop. Just one customer, please!
The light reflecting off of the glass is giving you a headache, but you still stare. In your state of utter boredom, anything would be exciting.
Your gaze shifts to the painting on the right wall when the glass door opens and a man stalks in. He is mumbling lowly into his phone, telling someone named George that he doesn’t know why Sapnap isn’t answering. You silently cheer at the sight of a customer, pleased to be productive on this slow workday.
The man has his light hair pulled into a small bun at the base of his neck and he looks borderline intimidating to you—maybe it’s his height, or perhaps it’s his cold stare. He scans the shop before he stalks towards the counter.
You’re slightly concerned at the sound of him not knowing where someone is, thinking that he will simply move off to the side to finish his call before ordering; but he doesn’t.
You seethe slightly at the blatant disrespect of the man. How are you supposed to catch a person’s order in between a string of conversation they’re having with someone else about something completely different? You don’t understand how someone can be that rude.
But nonetheless, the man stands there talking aimlessly before glancing up at you with an uninterested look on his face. You furrow your brows at him before your eyes flicker back to the cash register in front of you. You choose to pick at your chipped nail polish before the man decides to pause his phone call to order. But, the clearing of his throat catches you off guard and then you’re met the man’s hard stare.
“Well, aren’t you going to ask me what I want?”
Your eyebrows fly to your hairline as you stutter, “W-What?”
The man huffs as he switches his weight to his other foot and swaps his phone to his other ear, his eyes wide with irritation. He waves his hand in front of your face as you stand in shock at his rudeness. The man rolls his eyes before speaking to the person on the phone again. You reach over to pluck a plastic cup from the stack and grab a Sharpie pen, ready for his choice. However, you’ve soon got a death grip on the cup as he carries on talking to the person on the line.
“A cold caramel whatever.” You catch what he mumbles before he continues whispering into his phone. You grumble bitterly to yourself that it isn’t an order. But, not wanting to have to interact with him any longer, you ask for his name.
“Clay.”
And with that, he steps to the side, laughing into his device. You stand in disbelief holding the black Sharpie marker in your hand. How can his demeanour shift so quickly? Pulling yourself together, you scribble quickly, ‘C-… Cray’? You cock your head at the spelling but shrug one shoulder and slide it towards the metal bench next to you.
When the barista at the other end of the bench calls ‘Cray’, the man either isn’t paying attention or doesn’t care because he takes his drink and leaves; not even sparing a glance at you, who had misspelt his name.
The next day’s rush is far more fast-paced. The chatter of people around the coffee shop makes it near impossible to hear the orders of customers at the counter—but it is the way you like it. The more customers, the faster the day goes. And at this pace, you swear your shift is almost over.
As you finish taking the order of a young girl, your mood instantly dims when the girl moves to the side. Head down, Clay stands in front of you typing on his phone, murmuring his order to you. You tilt your head as you huff. The plain disrespect, again.
“Excuse me?” You say while leaning closer to him.
He gives a quick glance towards you before sighing, “A caramel cold, no cream.” His irritated expression makes you stare blankly at him.
His bleak response earns a quick eyebrow raise from you, who struggles to understand his order, but grabs a cup anyway and scribbles ‘Cole’ on the side along with a whole bunch of jumble on ‘caramel cold’. You assume he means the same drink as yesterday. And as the same as yesterday, his hair is pulled back, leaving his forehead bare and the crease in between his brows evident. Why does he always look so angry?
Over the next few weeks, you had continually and deliberately gotten Clay’s name wrong. You had become quite creative with ridiculous nicknames when he ordered his boring ‘cold caramel’ drink and think he deserves it from how rude he was to you. As much as you disliked the man, you found fun in getting his name wrong.
Cloud, Clam, Cleo, and even clarinet. At this point, the barista at the other end of the counter could yell ‘cabbage’ and he’d just accept it.
You had the luck of not running into him anywhere outside of the coffee shop, saving yourself the embarrassment of confessing why you write his name like that on the cups. But you can’t help it, you hate when people are distracted whilst they order; as well as arsehole men who wave their hand in front of your face when you’re simply waiting for them to finish their call to tell you their order.
No matter how much you despised it, Clay never failed to walk into the shop without being on his phone in some way. And he never once looked at you when he walked out with his drink, only sparing you a glance when ordering. You just didn’t understand this man!
It’s Friday and it’s raining. The dark clouds hang in the sky like a bad smell and you can’t shake the feeling in your gut. It is 15 minutes to closing time and Clay hasn’t walked in today. A weird sense of disappointment washes over you as you gaze out of the glass door.
The bell chimed for the last time that day at 5:55 pm and as you wrote down the abbreviations of a latte on the top of a white coffee lid, you felt sadness. It was subtle but it was there. And you didn’t know why it sat at the bottom of your stomach for so long, but it wasn’t pleasant.
As you reach to close up the register, the bell at the door rings. Your head shoots up from looking at the numbers on the buttons and is met with Clay—with no phone in sight. As much as you were looking forward to writing down a new nickname for him, your thought process is interrupted.
Clay looks at you, straight in the eye, and smiles. You stand in confusion, the black sharpie dangling from your fingertips as he leans on the counter. The cup in your hands is close to falling on the floor when he nods towards it.
“Iced caramel. And get my name right this time.”
You feel your cheeks heat before you scrunch your nose in distaste, “So you did notice.”
The man hums in confirmation before he reaches over the register to snatch the cup from your grasp. “Of course I did. I’m gonna show you how to spell it right.”
You’re quick to bite back the urge to comment that you know how to spell his fucking name but you patiently wait for him to return the cup.
He hands the cup back to you, holding it teasingly above your head before he drops it onto the counter. You catch the cup before it rolls onto the floor and become confused at the scribble of numbers on the cup instead. You lift your head to meet his gaze when you see his lips drawn into a large grin. Your features soften as you give him a soft closed-lipped smile. You turn your head to look towards the menu behind you, the numbers next to the orders catching your attention.
“Are these all of the orders you want?” You ask. You furrow your eyebrows while you look back down at the cup. Oh.
Clay bites back a giggle and shakes his head at your expression. “It’s my number.”
As shocked as you are, you manage to keep your grip on the cup, despite it nearly falling from your hand again.
“W-Why?” You mumble, face flushing at the thought of Clay even thinking about you in that way.
Clay makes a smug face, shrugs, and then spins around before walking back towards the door. You stand frozen; like literally stuck in your spot as you watch Clay glance over his shoulder.
“This place closes in 5 right? I’ll wait outside while you finish up and we’ll go get dinner together.”
His statement lingers even after he leaves. You still hold the plastic cup in your hand as you stare at the spot he was last in. Your heartbeat is in your ears as you finally blink. No… I can’t, he’s—. You shift your eyes down to the cup and the haphazard writing and feel as your heart skip a beat.
And as soon as you step out of the shop, the rain patters lightly on the pavement and you spot his figure leaning against the side of the bookshop next door—typing on his phone. You scoff out a laugh as you begin approaching him. Clay lifts his head at the sound of someone nearing and smiles when he sees you.
“Ready?” He asks, offering you his elbow. You roll your eyes at his gesture, nod and place your hand on his bicep.
No matter what happened in the past, you’re willing to see where this goes… with Cray— I mean Clay.

OKAY time for a college au!!
You 3 know each other from before college
You and kazuha were seating next to each other during your first year of high school you became close enough to greet each other whenever you guys pass by each other
And you and Xiao were best friends from kindergarten to 2 grade but unfortunately you had to move suddenly you two tried to keep contact but the two of you made new friends and kinda lost contact with each other
So when you go to college you meet kazuha at the front desk when you're trying to get your schedule and yall are like "omg I'm so happy to see someone that I know here!" and when you guys check your schedules it turns out that the two of you have the same class during the first period
And you're like "we've got 30 minutes wanna go grab a cup of coffee and get lost together?" and kazu knows that you playfully flirt with your friends so he jokingly says "are you asking me out for a date? Because if you are then I accept!" and you guys talk on the way to class and the two of you barely make it on time
Class ends and you're sad to say goodbye to the only person you know on campus but then all of a sudden he hits you with a "by the way can I have your number?" so you two exchange numbers
Later you're going to your last class and it turns out that this class doesn't have many people you go sit in the back and someone comes up to you and is like "can I sit next to you? " you say yes obviously
But the thing is... there is something very familiar about this guy and you just can't put your finger on it so you kind of stare at him without realizing it
Of course he noticed how hard you've been staring at him and turns around and is like "what? Is there something on my face?" that's when it finally clicks
And you're just like "XIAO??! IS THAT REALLY YOU?!!" but the teacher comes in so you two can't really talk
But the moment class ends you tell him who you are and take a few minutes to catch up
Though I say catch up it was mostly you teasing him saying shit like "I can't believe the shy kid who used to tear up whenever his turn on the swing was taken would grow up to be this handsome!" (he's starting to think that maybe he should have sat somewhere else)
So you're like "hey how we go actually catch up I've got some coupons for this café I went to this morning with a friend"
He doesn't have a reason to say no so he just accepts the invitation
When you guys get there who do you meet? KAZUHA! This man actually works there!
When you see him you're like "kazuha why didn't you tell me that you work here?" but he pretends not to know you and is like "oh? Well who might this fine customer be?" you can tell he's joking by the way he's trying not to laugh so you decide to play along
Poor Xiao is starting to regret coming with you (but don't worry he got 2 plates of almond tofu as an apology)
-no primogems (I'll make another part later where you 3 become roommates)
YES I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS-
dhfaeiahe I realize now that I should've just posted this as is since I wasn't planning on adding to this but might as well add in some thoughts I've had about this lovely trio eh??? tbh I didn't add much I just slipped in a few little things hehe
Can you guess the roomates?? Also the bio professor is Albedo ehe
Anyway!!
Considering it's the first semester of college, you haven't yet decided on your major. Luckily, you have quite a few general education classes to take, so you register all in one night.
You'll have the time to figure it all out as time goes by, no?
The rest of summer is spent juggling moving into the campus' dorms, working, and keeping up with some friends from high school. While you've kept contact with a few friends, you definitely kicked yourself in the ass for forgetting to ask Kazuha for his number...how could you forget one of your best friends?
But, you suppose that he's far off in a whole other city with his wish to experience more. You can't help but wonder what he's up to.
Then, the first day of classes starts.
How did you not figure out where everything is first? Instead of moping, you trudge to the administrative building early to ask for directions and, even better, a map of the large campus.
Instead, you find a familiar head of cream-colored hair.
Immediately, you gasp and he turns around in confusion, only for a soft smile to spread over his features. It's only been a summer but it's a relief to see that you know another person. Comparing schedules, he points out that you both have Communications 1301 together.
For once, you're glad you have to take these mandatory courses...
But with an abundance of time (as Kazuha just so happens to know where the class is), he accepts your jokingly firtatious proposal to head to the cafe just across campus to grab a morning drink.
It's hardly been long since you've last spoken to him, but there's still so much to talk about! It turns out he opted to rent out a small studio apartment just a few blocks away from campus! Naturally, he invites you over sometime.
He's also admitted that he decided to major in English--something you're not surprised to hear. After all, Kazuha's a natural at the subject, exceeding the assignments and always so eloquent.
If you recall correctly, he used to tote around a little notebook full of little musings and poetry during high school. You wonder if he still does that.
You talk about how you've just moved into the dorms a week ago, how you're lucky to be rooming with two musically inclined (if not a bit rowdy) people. You're sure that he'd take a liking to them once everything is calmed down a bit. Kazuha just raises a brow in half-doubt.
Before you know it, it's been an hours and, to your horror, your first class starts in five minutes. Not to mention that it was back closer to the admin building and you were on the opposite side of campus.
But it's still fun, Kazuha laughing as you jolt up and tug him to stand, the two of you running to get to class on time. With heaving breaths and flushed faces, you make it just a few minutes late. Luckily, your professor didn't mind because it was the first day...
Following class, you have to make your way to Bio 1301, Kazuha having a major-specific English course to get to. Before you can speak, though, he offers his phone to you. It's newer than his old flip phone you'd tease him about all the time, the screen clean save for a few stray fingerprints.
After you put in your number, he beams and quickly sends you a call so you can have his too.
"Call me after you're done with classes, alright?"
You promise to and the two of you set off.
Biology proves to be uneventful, a full hour and a half of the (rather attractive) professor going over what to expect as well as passing out lab waiver forms. A necessary precaution, he said with a reserved sigh. You wonder what happened.
When the hour ends, you have some time before World History, followed by a Trigonometry course.
By the time you find your trig class, most of the seats are already taken, making that feeling of dread fill the pit of your stomach. Nothing is worse than being forced to take whatever seat is left. But, noticing a seat by the windows, it's not so bad.
You're in the back, though, settling your bag beneath your chair and picking out a pen and schedule book.
At some point, someone walks in and asks if the seat in front of you is taken. You don't bother to look up long as you fish out a notebook, letting him know it's free.
As class goes on, you realize that the guy in front of you most likely hasn't been paying attention. Considering that the professor has been rehashing stuff from Algebra...you're not surprised. But something about his dark hair catches your eye. Not to mention his striking gold eyes...hm.
It's not until you catch his profile as he stares out the window that it clicks.
"Xiao."
His eyes dart to look at you, a confused look washing over his face. You repeat his name.
"Yes?"
Part of him is just about ready to leave as recognition floods your expression, smile wide. How could you possibly---
"I can't believe the shy kid who used to tear up whenever his turn on the swing was taken would grow up to be this handsome!"
The tips of his ears turn red fast, something that you remember very well about him, and his gaze quickly flicks over to the professor still dragging on. When gold settles back on you, they're practically begging for you to lower your voice.
"It's been forever--I can't believe that you-"
"If you're going to talk, do it outside of class."
Ah. Oopsie.
Time seems to drag on while you buzz in your seat, excited to see your childhood friend after loosing contact. You've missed him over the years, always wondering what happened to him, how he's been. And finally, when class ends, he gets up and waits for you.
Naturally, you want to catch up, so you invite him to go to the cafe with you for a late lunch.
"You still like almond tofu right? It's all you used to eat when we were little." Laughing, you nudge his shoulder and the color returns to his cheeks as he mumbles a yes.
When you step into the cafe, a familiar voice greets you.
"If I knew a cute customer would be coming, I would've gone on break."
Kazuha leans on the counter, mirth in his eyes and you gasp. It makes sense now, why he's so well acquainted with the campus and why he'd already known what to order when you arrived for drinks-
"What can I get for you today?"
"Your number."
Xiao's face pales at the blatant flirting, wondering if he should've just declined the invitation to the cafe until the two of you burst into laughter. Though, it's hardly better.
"Sorry, sorry- This is Kazuha, one of my friends from high school. Kazuha, this is my childhood best friend Xiao."
With a day so filled with nice coincidences, you doubt that life can get any better than this.
Oh, how wrong you'd be.
