I try to not complain on here but there are millions of Klaus centered pages. For many ships that do not include Bonnie. I just hate that some people interact with me to take Klaus content and leave. When I created this space as a Bonnie centered space for one of her ships. Bonnie doesn’t nearly get as much love or favoritism as Klaus or his other pairings in canon and fanon. It’s just upsetting sometimes to repeatedly see people use my account for their Klaus content solely. I’m sure there are other ways you can find gifs or anything else that centers Klaus. Can Bonnie fans ever have spaces to themselves?

Why does people keep insisting Caroline had to be pregnant because the actor was it's lazy writing for one thing and it was used strictly because they didn't want to make bonnie the main character even though they Unintentionally set bonnie up as one with the sleeping spell why in the world would you waste your underdog character that had more potential plot wise for a vampire who for 6 years had more then enough plots centered around them Caroline wasn't interesting enough to justify as the main character when there was so much potential and unanswered questions with bonnie and her coven plus you had the Gemini coven storyline to think about and they wasted all of it for nothing

Fandoms will ship two het men who simply breathe next to each other but god forbid a Black woman has a relationship with or even just chemistry with the popular male lead. And this happens in EVERY fandom (see tags for examples) with a prominent Black female character. They were even vehemently against Miles Morales and the Black spider girl (Margo).

It’s just very telling that certain people are suddenly “platonic love/besties/sibling energy only otherwise the show is ruined!!” when the fem character is Black.

It’s ok to not ship characters, but the overwhelming backlash to these specific ones has been so ridiculous and very obviously racially motivated. There are articles now discussing whether harmless shipping of two fictional adult characters is acceptable, and on the cover of them is typically an interracial pairing involving a Black woman…

I want to say that Black girls and women in fandoms are some of the strongest people in the world, but that in and of itself is microaggressive (I’m Black, but still). We put up with a lot of hate, icing out, misplaced jealousy and concern trolling, and that’s even the case when Black female characters are treated well by the narrative, which they often are not. And yeah, we’re still here and everything, but we deserve better.

Fandom is for enjoyment, not having to be the strongest toughest person in the room. I’m older now so I have the benefit of not giving nearly as much of a shit as I did in my early 20s, but I want more for the ones still finding themselves, trying to find community and make art about the things they love.

i get what you mean but this is like ... half a klaus ship? people always pay more attention to their fav half of the ship, which for you is bonnie, but it's promoted as space for klaus and bonnie both? if you mostly want bonnie centered questions or reblogs or stuff that's fine but it doesn't necessarily say that anywhere

I don’t think you did. In fact I feel like you’re purposefully not understanding what I meant. I only had problems with people using my blog just to interact with Klaus content only and completely ignoring Bonnie. When this has always been promoted as a safe spaces for Bonnie fans first. Since there aren’t a lot of safe spaces for black fans. I’ve never had an issue with Klaus posts, responding to those questions or interacting with Klaus related posts. I love him as a character as well I thought that would be clear. My blog is named KLONNIE for a reason. I don’t think I’m in the wrong for feeling upset that some people straight up ignore the Bonnie half on my blog. If I had an issue relating to Klaus things why would I post fic links, respond to questions about him or his family or even post solo things? I just wished those people acknowledged Bonnie more here too. Why should I accept Bonnie taking the backseat in a ship she’s half in? Maybe you or others see Bonnie that way but I do not.
