I was checking an oldish tag on here and saw some of your old asks about Stas where people told you everything she was doing, full transparency and you defended her like no other. Everything they spoke about came to light and we are now or have been seeing since Europe everything and more that people mentioned . So im curious (maybe you’ve said before but i didnt see it) what made you change your stance and open your eyes to her odd behavior especially towards Colby? The asks were pretty blunt and straight forward and you still found a way to curve every answer.

I checked the tag btw because i noticed today that not only did she promote Katrina on twitter, but made a tiktok to her song, told people shes her biggest fan, and has been liking a bunch of C4 edits and pics. I remembered seeing asks talking about her never supporting Kat only Colby so after seeing that i came back here to try and find what else those asks said and saw everything everyone has been saying is pretty legit.

i did say a while back why my feelings changed for stas, but i'll just state them again i guess lol

also holy shit this is long sorry about that lmao

so, originally, when ppl would come to me saying why they didn't like stas, to me it didn't feel like it was a legitimate reason. and i felt that way bc they would come on here, talk about her, but give no proof to their claims. just say that "oh i heard this" or "i think she did this" or "did you see she did this" and to me, none of it was enough proof to throw her off the island, so to speak. i mean, some anons talked about her liking edits as proof enough that she was shady or up to no good. ppl would use her likes on twitter as main example of "see! look how bad she is" and the tweet in question was either not there (bc she probs unliked it) when i would go looking for it or if it was about colby and her… it was harmless and not something like "colby and her should be together. they have something going on".

also, no offense to anyone that sent me asks in during that time period, but i don't exactly have the most faith in the fandom towards ppl outwardly hating on a girl bc she's close to colby. it's happen countless times. the amount of times i've been told that the reason a girl that colby's friends with or hooking up with or JUST STANDING NEAR is bad bc "she just gives me bad vibes"… let's just say, if i had a nickle, i'd be a rich woman. so when it started happening with her, i didn't think much of it. thought of it as jealousy or just over-protective fans.

but things started to change a bit, i would say, by summer. i think after one too many trips to vegas, my liking for her was dwindling. idk if she did something or what (bc at this point i don't remember), but the vibe changed around her and what she was doing. at least to me. not to mention, no matter what she did, it was drama. and that itself was exhausting.

then colby made that tiktok with her. and when he started deleting comments shipping the two of them together, that's when i knew oh, he really doesn't want to be shipped with her and i thought this was him actually laying down the law and finally putting his foot down to all the shipping that goes on between him and stas.

then europe happened. and i fucking KNEW this trip wasn't gonna end well. i felt it in my bones. or maybe i'm just really good at picking up patterns lol

what first started to gross me out, was finding out about her mom posting things. and look, i'm all for a supportive mother. and tbh idk if her mom ever responded to fans. but what concerned me was how much info she was sharing publicly. and then how many fans were searching for her mom, finding her page, and basically narrowing down where they were in brussels and all that. snc have been stalked before, have had their house broken into before, what they DO NOT NEED is someone with them basically giving their every location just bc those fans are subscribers.... or random ppl on her mom's facebook.

that's when i also noticed that her roommate was at least cognizant of fandom drama that had happened not too long ago bc she liked a tweet about it while it was happening. that turned me off quite a bit as well. and i know a lot of ppl bring up stas posting the video from colby's bedroom and honestly…. ngl that flew under my radar. it just didn't feel like anything to me at the time.

and then finally: tomorrowland. the amount of fans that upticked their talks of colby and stas when they were basically forced to hang out with one another the whole time bc kat and sam wanted their own time away (which is fine, don't get me wrong. but it just really didn't help the already existing issue of colby and stas being shipped) was super fucking annoying. i basically was getting upwards of 10 asks a day, and that's a light guesstimate, about the situation. and while i don't mind talking about something…. i don't want to talk about it that much.

then, the malishka thing happened. i literally ignored it on here bc i just couldn't talk about it. at first, i was angry at colby. like why would he post this this is so stupid. but as time has gone on, i've basically come to the lovely realization that stas is the one that posted it (also, according to some whispers i've heard she basically told her subs that she did. idk tho that's alleged). realistically, colby doesn't understand russian. he probably filmed her, showed her the video, and she typed that and posted it. she also had earlier post the pic on his story of her face zoomed in. at least, that's what i personally believe. and when asked what malishka meant, she probably lied or just didn't tell him bc he probably didn't rewatch his story.

bc something to note is that they had terrible wifi in tomorrowland. so he might not have even known about this whole thing until a day later or so.

and what made all of it worst was the fans' reaction on twitter. and the fact that a lot of the fans that came out and congratulated colby and stas for "finally being together" after "all this time of us knowing" were both ppl i followed and ppl my age……….. i basically was about done with the situation. and then of course she had to like a tweet about the malishka thing. and that solidified it for me.

and if THAT WASN'T ENOUGH, they came home from the trip and colby hung out with her one more time right before moving to vegas. he literally told us on xplrclub that he was gonna be THIRDWHEELING in vegas (aka laying it on AS THICK AS HE COULD that he was single), and that fucking night stas told her subs that she was going on a date. and wouldn't you believe it, but it was her and colby hanging out ! along with others, but no one saw them on her story. just her and colby.

after that, colby mentioned multiple times about being single, being young, and wanting to have fun while in vegas. and i think that's when the tides personally turned for stas. she had fun playing house with colby in europe, she had her fun of living the fantasy of what it would be like to be colby's gf, to be Y/N. but reality set in when they came home. i think the last night they hung out, i think she confessed how she felt, and he rejected her. and look, she has every right to be upset about being rejected. i get being rejected, especially by someone you feel you have a connection to, SUCKS ASS. i'm not denying that. however, you caused your own delusions. colby was literally hooking up with six flags girl multiple times this past year, LITERALLY BROUGHT HER TO A HANG OUT SESSION WITH THE CORE FOUR, …..and you think he was into you???? the same man that deleted comments about the two of you together????????? the same man that FOR YEARS has begged the fandom to stop shipping him with every girl he's friends with??????? that man… was into you?

i mean, he went on a (assumed) date with a girl in vegas and stas tweeted like four things that night about being hurt or whatever (idk at this point i don't remember all the details) and then on top of that deleted said tweets. maybe something happened between them. i doubt it wholeheartedly tho. i think she loved the fantasy of them being an item, but he wanted no parts of it.

bc that's the thing: colby loves to tease us sometimes. like with amber. he loves making the fans freak out. but when he does shit like that, he chose to be part of the game. this is the only time he asked not to be included…. and she did it anyway. i don't think he knew the extent of breadcrumbs she was leaving for fans to speculate. i think when he saw what happened with the malishka shit (bc again he probs didn't see it until a day or two later bc of wifi and just wanting to enjoy his vacation) i think stas left a soured taste in his mouth. and then she made it worst by telling fans that her and him were going on a date…. and that was enough for him to be done with her. that's why at kat's bday party he sat as far from her as possible and seemed to not want any parts of the party. and that's why she's talking about being rejected now. bc i personally think they are done being friends as of rn.

i mean… it would make sense too. bc the moment he was hurt by what stas did, who did he run back to after all this time? shea, the original stas lmao

and as for stas all of a sudden being up kat's ass, to be as bluntly honest as i can be, i do not fucking care. i've gotten a bunch of asks about it. i can't be more frank than literally telling yall i don't care. i'm tired of talking about stas. bc even tho i don't like her, and i do think she is a bit of a snake, not everything she does is newsworthy or needs to be talked about. she liked something that implied feelings for colby? who cares. she wrote a poem about him? who cares. she wants to leave comments about how much she loves kat? omg who cares. we all know at this point she wants attention.

STOP GIVING IT TO HER.

Favorite Thing:

I like that, in his core, he's actually a sweet and loving guy. Like, he's complex and it's a different spin on the character. Otto is usually a well meaning guy in his other interpretations, but this one is specifically very romantic 💖

Least favorite thing:

His appearance and dialogue in no way home 💀 Like... What is going on with that color palette??? That and the cheesy, over the top lines. It's very "Saturday morning, hand wringing mustache twirling cartoon villain"

Favorite line:

Oof, another hard one!

I'd have to say it's close between the part where he's talking about how he doesn't understand T S Eliot, and thus Rosie is very smart and intelligent in his eyes bc she does, and the "I will not die a monster" line at the very end of the movie.

The first one is actually a really great look at his characterization. It shows that he's humble and doesn't feel that technical smarts are the be all, end all. Kind of like the Einstein quote, "if you judge a fish's intelligence on its ability to climb trees, it'll go it's while life thinking it's stupid", meaning that everyone is talented in their own way, and he sees that. Also bc its just another little detail of how he adores his wife.

The second one is great, not so much for the dialogue line itself, but more so bc of the context that it's in. When you consider the fact that, after all the pain and destruction and like robot arm mind control he's been under, he's accessing mental clarity on sheer willpower alone right now, that's impressive enough. But also bc he knows that even though saving the day here will kill him, we get that glimpse again that the Otto we met at the start of the movie is still there and just as strong.

Kind of like an "incorruptible integrity" type of character. Even against all odds, he still does what he knows is right.

My Brave Face tracks the slow mental breakdown of a man who's been dumped by his girl and he basically says as much that he can't handle being alone bc all he can think about is her. Despite his best efforts, he keeps getting worse and worse and during each chorus he begs, "Take me to that place... where I can find my brave face". Peak "I miss my wife" content

The second one is about a guy who is being relentlessly accused of being unfaithful by his partner despite his seemingly very genuine insistence that he hasn't, even to the point that he swears he won't find another partner until his original one sees the light and comes back. I just like the angsty idea of doc trying to convince his s/o that's he's back in control again and maybe his partner doesn't believe him/can't accept him.

Particularly for the "How can I explain away something that I haven't done? / And if you can't trust me now, you'll never trust in anyone / with all the crazy doubts you've got, I love you even still / but if I can't change your mind then no one will" part

So hard to pick just one tbh, but I do like this one a whole lot. I like his wrinkles 😌

"Good morning, guys, Porco!" You chirpped, seeing him give you a small wave as you entered the meeting room, you saw Reiner, Pieck and Zeke sitting in their seats, Reiner was deep in thought, Pieck was taking a nap on the couch, and Zeke was taking a drag of his cigar as usual.

You excused yourself as you squeezed by Reiner to sit beside Porco who greeted you wth a small head pat as he leaned back into his seat, Pieck rose from her spot as she smiled lazily at you.

"I was thinking of eating out together today, how about it, guys?" She asked as she yawned, Zeke hummed and shook his head, "I've got business, rain check?" Pieck nodded and glanced at Reiner, awaiting his answer.

"I guess I can go." Reiner responded, he looked in a daze, like he just woke up from a nap. Pieck's gaze turned to Porco and you, but before any of you could answer, the General entered the room, catching all of your attention. "Sorry Pieck, Porco and Reader will be helping with planning a mission." You could see Pieck deflate a bit, sighing but still nodding, understanding.

“Sorry Pieck, promise we’ll make it up to you, right Pock?” You looked over to Porco, who was scratching his head in boredom, nodding subconsciously. General Magath looked around the room before closing the door and starting their meeting for the day.

“I’ll be heading out you two, we need those plans before this weekend, so please get it done, choose who’ll be sent out soon or we’ll have to send all of you out.” General Magath reminded you and Porco once again as both of you nodded and said your goodbyes, you looked out of the window of the room, raising your hand to measure the time of day.

“What are you doing?” Porco suddenly chirped, you jumped looking behind you, “Checking the time.” You answered returning back to look at the sunset, “how do you know?” Porco prodded more. “Reiner taught me, when we uh..went to Paradis.” You mumbled, your voice starting sound small as you continued.

“He taught you? I probably could’ve done better.” Porco scoffed. He looked over the map of next week’s mission again to try and distract himself from talking about Reiner. “Don’t start with that again, Pock. He’s a helpful person.” You wanted to defend Reiner, you knew that he did a lot of things wrong, although most of it is unforgivable, you’re not a saint either.

“Helpful my ass, all he did was stand there while my brother was being eaten by a Titan.” He growled kicking the table in annoyance and anger. “I, couldn’t do anything either. I’m as much to blame as he is, Pock..” you reasoned with Porco, he rolled his eyes. “yeah, but how could you help, Reiner held you back, he basically said that he was a lost cause. Don’t try to defend him any longer.” You spun around to face Porco.

“Pock, enough!” You wanted to stop the conversation from progressing, but Porco didn’t. “No! You used to be so happy when we were kids, Reader!” You stayed silent, Porco took your silence as a sign to keep going. “Going to Paradis did something to you and none of you won’t tell me. That Ymir girl barely has any memories that could tell me shit about why you’re like this!” He cried out.

You sighed out of stress, he was pushing it and you weren’t ready to talk about it. Both you and Porco stood silent in the room, seconds feeling like minutes. You didn’t know what to say, what could you say? what’ll he take as a valid reason as to why you aren’t the same girl he used to know?

You looked at his reflection from the window, your hands clenched out of stubbornness and guilt, before turning around to face your best friend. You couldn’t even get a breath in when you felt soft lips on yours.

Your eyes were blown wide, Porco’s hands held your cheeks, almost squishing it. He was holding it as if you would pull away the second he loosens his grip. You felt yourself stiff in a few seconds in before relaxing, your eyes fluttered close as you reached your arm to wrap around his neck. Porco took this as an okay to hold you by the hips, his hands pulled you closer as you slower broke apart.

You took a breath as soon as his lips left yours, feeling like you were cloud nine after that kiss. Porco looked at you with a flushed expression, his hands gripped you embarrassingly. “I..” Porco didn’t know what to say, “I didn’t mean to do that, well I did- but-“ He jumbled his words as he looked at anything but your eyes, which stared at him with a joyous tint.

“It’s okay, Pock. I understand what you meant.” You smiled softly, still holding onto his figure. He thought his face couldn’t get any warmer as he stopped functioning. You could understand, both of you never really had time for love. Especially now, you and him barely have any time left.

“I just didn’t know what to do, I thought I was losing you. The real you.” Porco sighed as he put his forehead against yours, your noses almost touching. It felt ticklish, his staggered breath fanning your skin, he was gonna cry.

“I know, I’m sorry I made you feel like that, Pock. I promise I’ll tell you when I’m ready. You’ll wait, won’t you?” You mumbled, your hand reaching his cheek to cradle it ever so gently. He nodded, understanding as he placed a sneaky cheek kiss before a booming voice pulled you both away.

“Finally! I thought you guys would never tell each other!” Zeke rejoiced as Pieck and Reiner stood with happy smiles and even a little clapping. Porco stood dumbfounded before his face morphed into embarrassment and horror. “you watched us?! How much did you idiots see?! I’m going to literally destroy you guys-“ Zeke laughed as Porco was a flustered mess.

“We saw almost the whole thing bud. We heard arguing and thought you guys were absolutely wrecking the place, fighting and all.” Pieck’s gentle explanation calmed Porco a little bit before you started laughing. “I told you it would work.” Zeke nudged Reiner with his arm as the blonde rubbed his arm, “I wasn’t even apart of this..” Reiner mumbled.

You smiled as Porco continued to scold, at least try to scold Zeke and Pieck. The odds of Porco liking you? Who would’ve thought. “Alright, enough scolding and teasing, now who wants to go eat out? Im starving!” You pushed through your friends and your maybe potential boyfriend.

“Oh! I get to pick where we eat!” Pieck called out, latching her arm as Porco walked beside you. You looked over to him as he glanced at you, with a small smile of course. You took hold of his hand as you both continued to walk, Zeke and Reiner followed right behind.

At last, I have finished Mass Effect 1!

Tbh, I think he would be great at DnD because he enjoys the imagination and character design aspect, bet his characters are always the best dressed one. Can you rank the isak/Jonas friendship in terms of friendship dynamic and the characters individually

Hi anon 🍃 lol sorry, this is so late. I hope you’re still paying attention to these.

Isak/Jonas: It's funny because, in hindsight, I feel like other remakes developed this friendship more, or gave them more dialogue so that certain things were explicitly expressed (like the Jonas' remorse about the homophobic jokes of yesteryear), or they simply come across as closer friends because we get more insta content. But I think that both Isak and Jonas are fully realized characters. I love Jonas Vasquez and I can totally see why Isak idolized him, even when Jonas was a little shit. And I just about adore Jonas' reaction to Isak coming out, it feels 100% true to his character to take it in, put himself in Isak's shoes and say the one thing Jonas would like to hear if he were telling Isak about a girl. Isak and Jonas may not necessarily be the closest Isak and Jonas pair, but they feel like two good, teenie male friends, and that counts for a lot in my book.

Shay/Marlon: Surprise? I love these two and I think they're tight as fuck. I'm basically headcanoning here, but I think one of the reasons Shay isn't out to everyone yet isn't so much because what other people might say, but what Marlon might think. (And here it helps that Marlon is fairly woke, but nowhere near tumblr standards. We know Marlon will react well because he's a Jonas, but there's some room for uncertainty.) As for Marlon, while I think he's pretty self-centered, I can't help but have some fondness for this dumb teenie who's so devoted to his friends that he's selling his meds in order to make their band happen. I mean, it seems like he's financing their soundcloud rapping career all on his own, and I'm supposed to frown upon his drug dealing ways? Absolutely not. Anyway, I love that Shay and Marlon are friends from way back. I love that Marlon is such a lesbro and that Shay knew she needed to become bff with a white guy for protection.

Lucas/Jorge: Remake Jonas stans will argue that this or that Jonas figured out early on that their Isak was gay, but Jorge was the only one who canonly noticed early on and tried to be there for Lucas without pushing him. There's a reason that the Spanish boy squad isn't homophobic (and yet, as per one of Lucas' videos, not immediately educated about everything ever) and it's because Jorge would have never allowed that shit. And you know it. Jorge loves the shit out of Lucas, and Lucas knows that he's loved. Sometimes a best friend that you know will always be there is way more important than a love story, and this is true for Lucas Rubio.

Matteo/Jonas A: I was really, really conflicted about these two. I'm more of a David fan, and I generally don't care for Jonas A. But after some soul searching, I realized I couldn't list Matteo any lower than this without feeling like a TRAITOR to him, and for all his faults, Jonas A is a fairly good friend. I feel like there's a lot of love between Jonas and Matteo, but at the same time I also feel like there's nothing much that binds them together? Like, I actually think as the years go by, Hanna will become Matteo's go-to confidante over Jonas, because I feel like she and Matteo have more in common. But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

Lucas/Yann: I'm only rating them this high because I really love Yann, despite how dirty the writing team post s2 did him. The thing is, many Jonases do make homophobic jokes in s1, but the one big gay joke Jonas makes in s1, about Isak only liking gay songs, was not what Yann said in s1. He said Lucas only liked songs for virgins. (I haven't watched s1 a lot so I might be missing some examples.) So I just don't get why Yann had to be scapegoated like that. I would've been fine with it if they hadn't made Yann leaving Lucas at the bench the damn cliffhanger for episode 6, if episode 6 had started with that scene and finished with the table football scene. But Skam France didn't want to have it like that, and yeah, it still bothers me. But I do like Yann, and I thought he was a great friend in s1 and s2.

Lucas/Kes: I feel like I don't have a ton of insight into this friendship, because Skam NL favors visuals over dialogue a lot. I feel like Lucas and Kes are only friends because they're both cool kids in the same way and they go to the same school, but nothing beyond that. Lucas comes across as a free agent, and Kes and Noah read as much closer with each other. That said, Lucas and Kes have the most sexual tension out of any Isak/Jonas pair (I'm thinking specifically of that dancing scene in the cabin episode), in a sort of unspoken way. I don't think Kes is into Lucas necessarily, but I feel like he does pick up on Lucas' crush subsconsciously and fucks with Lucas' head to test his reaction. So they're not the closest of friends in my opinion, but they have a unique dynamic among the pairs.

Martino/Giovanni: The thing about Giovanni is that I've had enough of this dude, essentially. I liked him well enough in s1 and s2, but I love Jonas V more than any Jonas and I really disliked how Giovanni was hailed not just as a better friend than Jonas V, but also the gold standard of what a best friend should be. And it's just weird as fuck to me that every remake Jonas should be compared not to the Skam character, but to a copy of this character played by a more conventionally attractive actor? And like... Don't tell me that's not a factor on why Giovanni has such a fandom, because I saw with my own eyes how Chris/Eva shippers reluctantly shipped Eva/Gio over Eva/Federico, because Giovanni is more gorgeous (and tbh, a better actor) than Federico. But anyway, Martino and Giovanni are fine, I'm just really tired of people bringing Giovanni up in any discussion about the Jonases.

Robbe/Jens: I watched Wtfock before s3 started, and I just never got the appeal of Robbe. I couldn't imagine why people were looking forward to his season because there was nothing interesting about him as far as I could see. (Whereas I find Yasmina more interesting.) As for Jens, I thought the actor was better looking than the one playing Luka, so it's one of those cases where I wondered why anyone would ship Jana/Luka based on looks alone, lol. And then s3 came along, and for whatever reason, the writers decided that they were going to make a plot point of Robbe urgently needing a place to live, and Jens turning down his requests to stay over. It's just so unlike what I'd expect a best friend to do, that I can't fuck with Robbe/Jens at all. I don't care if Jens later became the biggest LGBTI ally, that's a dick move.

BONUS

Cris/Amira: I don't really consider them an Isak/Jonas pair because they only have like... two scenes that I'd call Isak/Jonas scenes. Cris only ever crushed on Amira in my mind, and only ever ruined Amira's relationships with dudes in my mind, so they don't have that Isak/Jonas history. But I really love how Skam España approached and adapted this friendship for Cris. I love not just that Amira is Cris' Jonas, but how she is Cris' Jonas. They're childhood friends who are becoming two different women, and yet that's not a cause for them to grow apart, but to love and value each other more. Sometimes remakes rely on Skam for exposition, like we have to assume a remake character did this thing because that's the reason the Skam character did it, even if it's not actually stated in the remake in question. With Cris/Amira, Skam España actually relies on Skam to provide some context for who Amira is and what she gets out of her friendship with Cris before we've actually watched her season. We don't know everything that Amira went through when she started wearing hijab, but we can guess based on what we saw in Sana's season. And that's why the Amira/Cris friendship is so powerful, because Cris constantly professes that their friendship is forever. It's one of the cases where knowledge of Skam actually compliments the remake, rather than Skam doing heavy lifting for the remake.

The way I see it is this: the threshold for het couple canon and queer couple canon should be the same. Wanting more than a handhold or whatever is *fine*, but whatever standard het romance is held to (the bare minimum to "count") should be the same for queer couples. We say all the time, "if one of them was a girl it would already be canon." Not bc of *potential* kissing, but bc it would be seen that way bc of what's already there. But you've said most of this already, so basically I agree lol!

Yup! That’s just it. If Detty or any other non-kissing couples can be taken as canon, so can queer ones, if the text is thoroughly framing it in every method equally. That’s how it works, actually! Applying a different standard *is* homophobic. And a few years ago, Destiel fandom actually knew this and pointed it out but somehow in this weird version of political extremization that we have around here, the pendulum has flipped around and knocked the octavarium on the ass from the other side.

Because people think that means you’re telling them to settle– of course it isn’t! Or making them “feel bad” for wanting more– nope! Now, will we make you feel bad if you make up a goal post where nothing counts until [your explicit marker]? Yeah, probably, cuz yeah, that’s problematic. Does it make them feel small? Tough shit tbh. For the last year or so I’ve dealt with people taking warped and extremized viewpoints to try to bulldoze over me and when I finally said “ENOUGH” and slapped back with a brick wall of history and perspective, they all cried it’s mEaN. No, you guys just don’t know what to do when your placebo activism turns out to not have substance versus the actual issues at hand, and yeah, you feel small and yeah, you feel bad.

Especially when you realize misdirected and empty gay rage got you nowhere except a hand full of very old very directed old gay rage in counter, and you really can’t cry victim after stomping on the work of activists ahead of you. If you spent years stomping on people and they finally stomp back, and you try to cry to someone as the victim, that’s literally playschool bully behavior. Grow up. When the nerd you’ve been trying to pick on for getting you to reconsider your ways turns out to have been schooled in 6 forms of martial arts and launches your ass to the nurse’s office when you come for round 14 of trying to give him a black eye, all your complaining is about being embarrassed that the nerd kicked your ass after trying to patiently deal with you this whole time. Again, playschool bullshit. Again, grow up.

There’s now a few YEARS of “activists” flaying people for, while not 100% happy with the level of content, supporting the queer authors and content and lifting it up – warping it into lines of “settling” to attack them, to diminish them, to make THEM feel small and their own podium – now warped beyond recognition from its original position like a goddamn tea party – big and righteous; and when finally someone clobbers them with a big fat dose of reality of how far they’ve mutilated the dialogue in the name of ship warring, they complain about feeling small. And I’m sorry, fucking no. Not a soul is here to make you feel bad for wanting more. They’re here to make you feel bad for queerphobic deletion and goalpost jockeying.

As I’ve had to say like a repeating song chorus: You can do both: want and hope and push for more, while *not* deleting the queer text and efforts at hand. Complex thought processes are less appealing to many people than linear pile driving, but it’s generally how the universe functions. And when it comes down to realizing they’re setting unlevel goalposts for the levels they *want* to push it to, suddenly yeah, there’s a rug pull, and they have a choice to pull left or right. If they double down, that’s their choice. But I don’t have to humor that choice or give it platform.

But one thing I hold 0% patience for is people saying they’re here for the rep fight while simultaneously pretending there isn’t a rep fight and trying to villainize core elements like incrementalization or struggling queer authors, many of which beg for public understanding.

We could be having nuanced conversation about the values of different forms of representation; we could be having nuanced conversation about how to effectively organize to help these queer authors into better situations. We could be talking about the show’s evolutionary path, or even culture’s social evolution path and how this show will age with public perception over the years. We could be comparing it to stages of LGBT history.

But we’re not. We’re having conversations where people, abandoning their former angle of discussion, are now screaming “pics or it didn’t happen”, are now tossing up goalposts they themselves used to call homophobic only a few years ago, are now rewiring the dictionary or entire AV medium study (sometimes while claiming themselves an authority while literal cinema literacy sources and decades of studies or even just flat-ass LGBT history say they’re wrong) because they want to feel righteous for demanding more without any actual organized effort or support. They want so desperately for the remaining upset to pass as activism. So badly to flatten even other LGBT community members for trying to hold up the queer canon, because it wasn’t the canon they wanted. And once they realize someone cast Reflectga and their own bullshit methods mow them down, this time with amplified substance of the actual world beyond, they cry foul, that *they*, not the people they’ve been trying to mow over, are being cruelly bullied, just because someone said – no, enough, you’re acting like clowns, I’m fucking over biting the bullet to listen to you on it, you are well past the pale folks.

Miss me with it, fandom. If I have to explain any further than this why one of these is activism and one of these is not, then you’re already beyond hope in the field anyway. I’m not here for your petty ship war nonsense. The representation clearly isn’t for you little fucking tumblr goblins so willing to shred it for not performing to and for you how and when you want regardless of circumstance, much less if you’re even in the damn demographic being represented to goddamn begin with. No, a cis lesbian doesn’t get to tell a trans person how their rep should look. A trans man actually can’t tell a cis gay man how his should look either because their paths are fucking different.

No, a bunch of women should not be bulldozing over and deleting shit and say it’s For The Gay Men while the vast majority of LGBT men in this fandom hide away in recesses because they’re tired of being bulldozed over if they don’t comply with the shitty fandom dialogue. Or the few that do that warp into it and abandon their original points just from sheer peer pressure – often younger ones, often outside of the demographic. They certainly shouldn’t be trying to flame a middle aged male queer & all other liberal and socially conscious rights rights media representation-commenting activist for writing within his limits about middle aged queer male content. That isn’t how this. Mother. Fucking. Works. I shouldn’t HAVE to have little cluster hoards of LGBT men I adopt that hide in DM or outside of fandom space entirely and poke their nose out with peeps of cautious gratitude and fish around to see how supportive I *really* am – it *shouldn’t* have surprised one of my newly made best friends that I understood the problematic nature of penetration culture and heteronormative ideas of MLM in this fandom. Or to cautiously click my recs because they’re worried about getting fucking ass stomped for daring to speak up on their own representation. It shouldn’t BE like that.

You wanna support queer creators? Y’all missed that boat because you were too busy being headass to organize and actually petition the network. No, screaming at execs until they delete social media and put a black mark on the idea, @’ing accounts with spam until you’re put on a mute list and negatively impact marketing algorithms, that’s not petitioning. Building portfolios and presentations delivered sensibly are. A few did. Good for those people. Fuck everyone else. Virtue signaling nonsense. No wonder they’re so enamored with shitty mass marketing as a goal.

thank you so much for this ask :D sorry for such a late response, but ngl i got very excited and started writing shit down as soon as i saw it, but then it turned into an entire essay and i had to cut down a ton of stuff until i decided to write it in a list of some sort kjhgkjfgkfg

currently i have like 11 fan characters in total so i will start with 4 to not infodump too much at a time

and i’ll admit that literally all of these guys were made for shipping purposes, but they all have different personalities and dynamics with canon characters. i’m such a sucker for writing couples, so many things to explore, that’s like my favourite thing ;w;

hardworking, ambitious

pretty composed

huge „your teacher from english class who’s also a dad” energies

his character can be summed up to, as someone has said, „he’d kindly but sternly correct your shitty posture”

currently takes the 3rd place of most „best employee of the month” awards (Copia is 4th at that time)

he and Copia start off as rivals for the 2nd place (bc no one can beat whoever is the 1st)

but wouldn’t you guessed it, they end up dating

Lucas has a fair collection of various rodents, including rats. Actually, he’s the one who infected Copia with love for them. Luc prefers ferrets (that’s a rodent right kjhfgkjgh)

he doesn’t really get angry, but when he does he really goes off

he writes poetry, which is actually very, very bad, but Copia loves it to bits which makes Luc feel validated to write more

because his language is so similar to italian, Lucas can implement a lot of spanish into his conversations with Copia, while the other will reply in italian and they will still understand each other (ofc there are some exceptions that result in miscommunication, but that just makes it all more fun)

Copia shared with him that he’s writing music for his album (even tho he wasn’t supposed to tell anyone) and Lucas was more than happy to help him in the process…which was mostly moral support and a few suggestions.

he loves calling Copia “cariño”, “mi amorcito”, “mi alegría” and other cute names in spanish

once Lucas mentioned he used to play flute and Copia immediately decided to include a flute solo in one of his songs, so Luc could play it. Unfortunately things didn’t go as he planned and he had to change it to sax solo

The thing about Lucas is that Imperator sees him as a threat. She’s been plotting with Copia to get him to papacy for a long time, but in the end she isn’t the one who decides who will be in charge, so Copia has to work hard to deserve it. He was already a hard worker, but unfortunately Lucas works harder. It creates this dillema for Copia, bc on one hand he does want to become Papa and in order to do that he has to get rid off competition. But on the other he loves Lucas and he wants what’s best for him.

Elise & Greg

Imma put these two together bc it’s impossible to talk about one without the other.

they work together in a company that takes art commisions such as paintings & murals and their restorations. They’re both pretty skilled in those departments, except Elise specialises in art restoration while Greg specialises in murals and frescos. And ofc one day they’re hired by the church.

they’re both pretty good at painting (but the thing about restoration is that you don’t have to be a great artist to do that, it has more to do with chemistry tbh)

They live together and have been very good friends for a few years now

they both went through some traumatic events in their lives, but maybe i’ll leave that part for another day (or i’ll leave it in my fanfic they’re from that i need to finish ;w;)

they’re very supportive of each other, but also they like to mess with one another

very sweet overall, feels the need to be everyone’s therapist

hates onions (bc the texture is awful)

gets very emotional very quickly when she sees cute animals. She will use her baby talk to speak with them (which is sth that Copia does too with his rats and once he catches her doing that as well, he feels less embarrased about it)

Cirrus was the first one from the church to actually talk to her and show her around, making her feel a bit more welcome in an unfamiliar place

she talks through her sleep. A lot. Copia finds it very amusing…and adorable.

she discovers that Papa III has fallen hard for her friend way before he himself realises that, but then she’s also the kind of person to not see her own feelings for someone

she finds working on restoration quite relaxing. It’s sth she can fixate over and do for hours (even tho it’s not recommended)

a bit of a workaholic

another thing she finds relaxing is sitting in a corner somewhere warm and doodling people she sees around the abbey (mostly those she finds attractive lol so mostly Cirrus and Copia)

eventually ends up with Copia and Cirrus in a poly relationship

she also finds Cumulus cute, but the ghoulette isn’t interested in another romantic relationship. the one she has with Cirrus is enough for her.

Elise’s relationship with Copia is basically two dorks trying to impress the other while trying not to be too obvious about it, while her relationship with Cirrus is bisexual equivalent of „shy nerd has a crush on a cool girl leading the cheerleaders squad and shopes she doesn’t know. She knows.”

has some trust issues, so it’s harder for him to become friends with people

huge Scorpions fan. no, like really, he’s obsessed and will share his music taste with whoever will listen (which is mostly Eli and Papa III lol)

knows a few words in italian, but mostly those related to art after he’s been studying it for a few years. He doesn’t speak it, but he can read it.

Papa eventually starts coming up to lay beside Greg on the construction and watch him work. They tend to just lay in silence while a mix of Scorpions and ABBA plays from the radio. There’s barely any space for a second person, but Greg would lie if he said he didn’t find it endearing.

one time Greg fell off the construction and broke his leg bc of that dumbass (but it’s his dumbass uwu)

anyway he eventually starts dating Papa III

Papa purrs to Greg in italian and Greg speaks sweet words to him in polish (tho it took him a lot of time to get comfortable with that)

their relationship is your typical „1 brain cell and 1 dumbass” and under certain circumstances simply „2 disastrous dumbasses”

they once burnt down Elise’s apartment on accident and the only things they managed to save were the art supplies and Greg’s guitar

well that is until she asked him to stop putting his face paint on so he wouldn’t ruin the fabrics

i share this popular headcanon that Papa III is pretty self conscious about his clean face, so it was kind of hard to convince him at first

eventually their sessions became that much more personal because of that

she’s a bit superstitious, believing that some things may cause bad luck

1. Is there a song, book or movie that has seen you through hard times ?

I feel like music in general really helps me get through anything... it can be the most motivating thing ! I don't have any "real" examples in mind right now. Just that when I was recovering from my first breakup back in November, I would listen to a lot of Ashnikko and it would really motivate me to at least not spend my day crying, and it would give me hope :')

2. What does your dream house look like ?

Uh I'm not really sure... I have a lot of ideas. But tbh, these days I would say my dream house would probably look like the Spellman house in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina 😆

3. What's your favorite time of day ?

I really like the early morning, like the sunrise, or when the sun is just out. Back when I still had the energy to wake up early I would often go on early morning runs in my little village. The landscape was so beautiful and it felt really peaceful. That's one of the reasons I love living in the countryside !!

But idk if I like the early morning or the sunset better. The sunset is really great too.

4. What was your favorite food when you were little ?

It changed sometimes, but I think lasagna or pizza.

5. Describe a dream you had recently !

I'm going to describe the last one I remember in detail, which I had maybe 5 nights ago. I remember it well bc to me it felt pretty disturbing and stressful 😅

There was like a craft market (not sure how you say it in English) in my village and I met a guy there, who I knew my family and I knew but I didn't know how we knew him. We started talking, and it was really great, and he was even flirting with me, which I felt good about. Also at some point he showed me some drawings he made, they were really beautiful, and flashy and colorful. He came to my house, and a bit later I saw my mom. She told me she knew this guy, but that he wasn't nice, and that I should not sleep in my bedroom tonight, that it wasn't safe. (Because the guy was going to stay the night, and I had decided he was going to sleep in my sister's room, which is right next to mine. Somehow my sisters didn't really exist in the dream, even though their bedrooms did). Idk why my mother and I allowed the guy to stay with us even though we knew he wasn't safe to be around. Dream logic I guess :')

So it was decided that I was going to sleep with my mother in her bedroom. Suddenly it was night and she was going to bed, but I didn't go with her bc I had to do the dishes. While I was doing that, I saw the guy at the entrance of the kitchen/dining room, with a knife in his hand. (It was kinda funny bc the knife he had wasn't sharp at all, but somehow it was still very scary). I managed to get past him and into my mother' s room. There was my mother and one of her friends. They weren't asleep yet.

As soon as I got there, the guy came in and was trying to kill us. He managed to knock my mother's friend unconscious, then he started to pull her by her legs. Suddenly I had a knife in my hand too, so I stabbed the guy in the chest. He let go of my mom's friend but he wasn't dead yet. So I picked him up like he didn't weigh anything (even though he was an adult man) and I just knocked him on the ground over and over until his skull was completely broken.

Then all of a sudden my mother, her friend and me were in my room, sitting on my bed with the light off. There was just a night light, from which came music. My mother's friend held a baby girl in her arms, and apparently that baby was the guy's child. She looked like she was only a few months old, but spoke perfectly. It seemed like she knew her father was dead but it didn't really affect her.

Anyway, we were just playing lullabies on the night light for the baby to fall asleep. She wasn't happy with any of them, until we played the song which apparently her father used to play for her at night. It sounded like a lullaby but it felt disturbing, idk why. And then I woke up.

6. What always makes you laugh ?

My own jokes lmao

For real, a lot of things make me laugh. I laugh very easily.

7. Do you play any instruments/have you wanted to learn any in particular ?

I sing, it's my passion, and I want to be a professional singer. I also play the piano a little bit, to accompany myself.

8. Have you ever given/gotten a tarot card reading? Would you ever?

I've followed a tarot training (I guess that's how you would call it) in November and December and since I have given readings to my family to practice. But I mostly read the cards for myself. I've never gotten a reading, but I would like too ! I'm very interested in tarot 😊

9. What fictional character would you want to meet ?

I honestly don't know. Sorry 😅

10. Imagine you win an all-expenses-paid trip (and the virus isn't... ya know, happening). Where would you want to go.

My first choice would be Norway I think ! Though I would really like to go to Italy too... even though I've already been there 3 times (2 of which I was little and don't remember much lol), I absolutely love what I've seen of it so far and I would love to see the whole country !!

instrument: I played the violin (very very badly) for about 2 years, and the oboe (for about a year until my teacher moved away - turns out there aren't a whole lot of oboe teachers out there) and I had piano lessons when I was a kid for about 7 years, but i can't remember how to properly read the music now:( I can still play piano but I mostly just figure out how to play songs by listening to them a lot. I prefer playing guitar and ukulele though, they're the ones that I picked up myself so I feel a lot more committed to them

languages: english is my only fluent language, bc our education system doesn’t bother to teach languages as well as other countries do (am I bitter about it? absolutely), but I can just about get by in french and spanish, and I've been slowly teaching myself norwegian on duolingo for about 5 months now (honestly bless that app)

random fact: when I was 16 I had appendicitis and nearly died bc I thought the pains were just rlly bad cramps lmao (is this ?? #toomuch? 😬✨??) ANYWAY now i don't have an appendix BUT I do have three funky lil scars and a rlly big appreciation for the nhs (the uk is shit at most things but free healthcare is truly a godsend)

knk in london recap !! (aka a mess on my part)

i’ll skip over the morning/day part because it was basically just sitting on a cold floor for 7 hours on and off until we got let in but as the queue for the venue was opposite where the stage door was we saw the boys come and go for the special events and they kept waving at us :(
