Tumblr media
It had many names, the Legend of the Dragon's Daughter. Many of which titled it as either a legend or a story. A myth. Some warned of great dangers surrounding the aura of the spirit the legend told about. Other's told of the pure divinity that this being held in the palm of their hand. The grace and adroitness that lined their very pores was spoken of so fondly by the older generations who had heard the story from their own grandparents, who had heard it from theirs and so on and so forth. The older Zora especially spoke of her in such a tone he found himself lending a little belief to the legend.
The story told of a daughter, blessed to the first King and Queen of Hyrule by the Three Goddesses themselves. A princess bestowed with the gift of beauty and grace, a beacon to the budding kingdom. There were even carvings under Hyrule Castle, hidden by toppled boulders, that portrayed her image.
And he would admit. She looked like a being having been blessed by the heavens above.
The carvings had showed an ugly side to an already bitter story. How this princess, this goddess sculpted muse, was struck down by the Demon King as a means to get back at both King Rauru and Queen Sonia. The carvings from there had been too worn down to get a clear reading, but it was enough to pique his interest. Besides, what else did he have to do? Save a princess who had no issues with leaving him to die? Deal with monsters that the people of Hyrule already knew damn well how to deal with and were no longer scared of them? Traverse the depths and all the lightroots he had already found?
At least this way, he may get some new power out of it. If nothing else, at least he had a good story for Traysi.
His first area to investigate was the sky island he woke up on. He could still spot Rauru's spirit in certain areas, understanding the solemn look he seemed to wear much more than he previously did.
It was also much easier to travel around the island this time around, which was a bonus.
When prodded for answers, something complicated flashed over the spirit's face before it settled into a Grim acceptance. One Link had worn too often right after remembering the untimely demise of the Champions.
"She was gravely injured. My precious sunshine. I almost lost her that day." He had spoken in a grave echo, eyes glazed and far off, as if seeing his daughter right in front of him. "My sister, Mineru, had offered her services in an effort to preserve her soul. I am unsure if it had worked. I haven't had the heart to look. I would be such a disappointment to her fiery heart and iron strong will to shine in the brightest ways possible. She was kept in the Temple of Time if you are at all curious."
He was. He was curious. He wanted to see this being for himself. If Rauru spoke so highly of you, it had to be worth it. And it was either this or go save Zelda, and he figured she was fine doing what she currently was for a little while longer.
At least until he looked further into this.
Walking into the temple, he hummed to himself as he looked around, spotting the blue glow of Rauru near a wall closer to the exit. He nodded solemnly when Link approached. The hand that matched his own raised to the wall, pulling forth one of those green symbols that chimed at his hand. The bricks shuffled and moved while Rauru faded out, leaving an unactive construct in front of him. It rattled to life, chirping up at him before recognizing that he was friend and not foe. The Construct explained that he was designed to protect the chasm the Princess was being kept in, but since Rauru had deemed him worthy, he would escort the blond to the place. It wasn't a long journey, not at all, just down a spiraling staircase with stone walls curtained by moss.
But the moment he laid eyes on you, he understood why you were hidden.
You face was lax in such a peaceful expression as your body remained weightless, suspended in a bubble of seafoam green and ocean blue. Your hair was splaying up behind you as if you were underwater with your hands clasped around a hilt of a sword. Even the sword itself was divinity in a blade, glowing a bright white from it's place in front of you. You were clad in white robes trimmed in cold with a stone necklace laced around your delicate neck, those same white earrings hanging from your ears.
You were...ethereal. From the curve of your jawbone to the plump flesh of your cheeks, he was enthralled by your very essence. The curve of your shoulders and the toned flow of your arms, even the dip in your collarbone-- all of it had his eyes trailing every bend and curve of your body.
What he wouldn't do to get a piece of you.
He ached to just touch your sun-kissed skin, to feel it under his palms as he held you. To feel the run of your hips, fingers gripping at the dips that decorated them. To paint them a splattering of blues and purples in a lasting reminder of who he was and what he had done to you. To bite and nibble at the flesh just to hear the kind of cries you would make.
Goddess, he couldn't imagine what your voice sounded like, but he wanted to. He wanted to hear what it sounded like while you breathlessly gasped out. To hear what it sounded like when you cried out his name in pure ecstasy as you withered underneath of him. To hear you give yourself to him entirely.
He wanted to feel your weight on top of him, to experience your hands in his hair (Or cupping his cheeks if he chose to allow himself that vulnerability), to live in your orbit, worshipping you as his one true Goddess.
His eyes landed on the same green symbol that unlocked everything pertaining to the Zonai. He raised his hand in response. It lit up a bright green before fading. The bubble shined brightly before growing, eventually popping and exposing you to the elements. Which why? You were so vulnerable like that? Why not just give you to him directly? You were at risk like this. Couldn't they SEE THAT-
Whatever invisible force keeping you suspended gently laid you on your feet, which were bare, only adorned with an anklet matching your necklace. The tip of the sword in your hand clinked against the stone floor. The echo of it made your eyes, your gorgeous, gorgeous eyes, snap open. If he thought seeing you before was captivating, this was downright...enchanting. The light of your irises positively glowed as your silently gasped, hands tightening around the hilt of the weapon. He rushed to your side as he saw your balance falter, cradling you in his arms as one of your hands came to gently hold your own temple. Even just the sound of your groan made him swallow hard, fighting the blood threatening to rush to his (dick-) cheeks.
You blinked before realizing that he was not someone you knew, pushing him away with much more force than he would expect from someone fresh out of a comatose state. The only thing stopping him from wrapping his arms around you once more was the tip of the very blade now prodding at his neck. He swallowed.
"Who are you?" You demanded, hold on the weapon shaking just a tad.
(Which was so adorable. How someone like you, all soft skin and doe eyes, expected to make someone like him, rugged scars and gnarled morals, bend to you was beyond him.)
(But he'd love to see you try anyway.)
"Where are my people?! Or Queen Sonia and King Rauru?!" Oh, you were so cute.
He wanted to decimate that innocence you carried.
With a careful hand, he gently pushed the blade aside with the back of a hand, letting a smug smirk settle on his lips. Your cheeks immediately reddened as your attention remained on him. Just as he liked it, he decided then and there. He liked having your attention (and only yours) on him. But having you acting so hostile towards him just wouldn't stand. But you didn't know any better, not yet anyway, so he'd let it slide.
He gently explained that you had been fatally wounded protecting your people, something that your parents were endlessly proud of you for-- even in death. While it was a direct shot in his, admittedly lacking, heart to be the one to tell you of the passed time and the death of your parents (The sacrifice of your father and the betrayal that lead to your mother's death), he was evidently the best and only option. He understood, on an intimate level, what it was like to loose so much time, healing yourself, while the rest of the world carried on, carrying the loss of friends and family with it. He knew what it was like. It had to be why you two were so perfect for each other.
He held you as your cried, soothing down your hair as your tears (Which should never have been shed) soaked his shoulder. While he was never interested in defeating the Demon King for Zelda's sake, he may have just found another motive.
One much more worthy of his time and attention.
<><><><>
When he first saw you, he understood why you were hidden, on a surface level.
He understood why much more on a deeper, more intimate one now.
You were so bubbly. Even when faced with the devastation of your home, you remained optimistic, greeting the constructs that roamed around happily. Bestowing your cherished kisses (Those should belong to him.) upon their cold exterior while wiping them free of dirt. Even the wildlife that had squawked and charged at him crooned and chirped under your touch, hankering for the scratches you gifted them under the chin. You saw beauty in the overrun weeds and fauna, taking great interest in the new species that had popped up.
When he took to the mainland, via shrine travel because he would be damned before you got down the same way he originally did, it seemed like you couldn't see everything fast enough. You loved exploring the caves, despite the Like-Likes baring their disgusting teeth and innards (Which he quickly disposed of), ached to get as close as possible to the chasms (Which wasn't very as he refused to risk you falling in), yearned to traverse the mountain peaks and snow dunes of the mainland (Which killed him on the inside since didn't you know how dangerous those were?!).
You were quite the adventurer, full of inexperienced naivety and unpoised curiosity. The exact opposite of the princess he knew. He forgot you were royalty have the time with your mannerisms, nothing like Zelda. Which was so refreshing.
If only you weren't so fragile. He would never admit it (Too your face at least) that he's thought of just tying you down and keeping you in his (He saw it as your shared home these days) home. It was on the far outskirts of Tarrey town (Far enough no one would hear your cries for help should it come to that) with a pasture out front so you could keep a horse nearby as a friend (Should you behave).
(It wouldn't be a young, steady horse. No, most likely an older horse who had long since retired from any sort of running or getaway attempts.)
He just needed a way to keep you stationary.
And it hit him like a Hinox. You two were walking around Hateno (It was deemed safe and far enough from Tarry Town that it was still new to you), when you stopped, let out a high enough squeal his ears pinned to his head as his head snapped towards you. You were always in his peripheral, but now you were right in front of him with his hands quickly holding your arms, checking you over for injury. There were none, but you were beaming like someone had handed you a million rupees (He would. He could. He'd do it just for you), instead redirecting his attention with a call of 'Link, look!'. He had followed your line of sight just as you began squeezing his own hands, expecting you to be aweing over a cow or goat or, Goddess forbid, a dog again (You very nearly took one of stable dogs home last time). But you weren't.
And that's when it hit him.
You were loosing any semblance of a mind you had over a small infant, strapped to their mother's back by a wrap of some sort. The babe smiled at your reaction, letting out a small cascade of giggles that had you squealing in pure joy.
That was it.
The answer was right there! How could he have been so blind?! It was right there. If he gave you a baby, his baby no less, you would have no choice but to remain dormant. You would have to stay right where he put you to not only protect yourself, but to your protect your child. He had no doubt you would do it. You were too kind, too naive, for any other option. Once you figured out you were carrying his child, you'd fall for thing, claiming it as your own before it was any bigger than an apple seed.
And from then on it would just be a matter of formalities. You'd be his for the rest of your lives.
Exactly what he wanted.
Exactly what had led up to this moment. You were nothing but a babbling, crying mess underneath of him, pulling at the roots of his hair as he folded your legs against your chest. You were pleading with him, some mindless demand that he wasn't even sure you knew what you were asking, but it was background noise. He was too focused on watching the way he disappearing into your cunt, a milky sheen coating the shaft of his cock as heavy dollops of past loads dripped past your gaping opening. It was mesmerizing the way your body reacted to him, sucking him in and fighting him every time he pulled out. Even on an unconscious level, you ached for him. Not nearly as much as he breathed for you, but that would come with time. He knew it would. He'd ensure it.
The cry of his name on your lips had the coil in his gut steadily tightening as his pace picked up, thoroughly hammering your insides. He needed to make sure he was prodded right against your cervix for this to work. He needed to get this right. He needed to father any and all of your children. Starting here and now.
Whether you knew about it or not.
You had babbled something about him pulling out too long ago, but he had...distracted you with long laps at your clit and soft nipples along your thighs. He didn't even think of truly ruining you until you were clenching your thighs around his head and drenching his bottom jaw, too gone to properly process anything going on around you.
And he'd keep it that way.
His thumb, rough and calloused, rubbed harsh little circles into your clit, feeling it pulse in time with his ministrations. You whimpered beneath him, chest arching up to push against his own as you cried out, squeezing around him. You were positively milking him for every drop he had to offer.
There was no way you didn't want his children. Not with the way you were clenching around him as he jutted as far as he could go, filling your womb once more. You laid boneless beneath him, hands dropping to hang around his neck as he took a moment to breath. Your cunt spasmed once more and his cock twitched inside of you.
"You're not done yet, are you, Princess?" He purred into your ear, making it flicker as he rolled his hips against yours, even if overstimulation rocked his entire system in a flash of shot nerves.
None of that mattered to him. He had a mission. A mission he would do anything to accomplish.
Anything to keep you as his.
Yes, the reader was holding the Light Sword. Yes, I know that's not how you get it. I just thought it would be a cool tidbit bc YES, Sage seems like the type to get turned on by a hot princess threatening with a sword.

MC: How was your investigation? *smiles*
The first-years: ...
Epel: Sensei, we have collected the necessary information and we have come to a conclusion as well.
Ace: But it's Deuce who came up with it since we couldn't think of anything plausible.
Deuce: Hey! You said it was plausible enough!
Jack: Guys, just get on with it.
MC: Let's make it fun, shall we? You'll re-enact the information you've gotten.
The first-years: Yes, sensei!
Professor Trein: I'm excited to see what our students have found out about you.
MC: Hehe~ I'm excited too, sir.
Professor Vargas: I hope it's action.
Professor Crewel: It will count as a documentary.
Crowley: Who wants popcorn?
Cater: Riddle? What's with that crazy, thick book?
Riddle: Oh. I'm doing my own research of Professor MC.
Trey: And?
Riddle: When I'm about to find something that matches, it will cancel out once I've considered the variables.
Leona: Just focus on the first-years' presentation.
Ruggie: Shyeheehee~ But Leona? Didn't you prepare your own theory just in case the freshmen got it wrong?
Leona: I just don't want the extra work.
Jack (as a doctor): Your child is a stillborn.
Epel (as MC's mom): S-Stillborn? I... That's not possible! My baby is alive!
*the other students acting as nurses, telling him to calm down*
Jack: Please, ma'am. We've done everything we could.
Epel: *screams in sorrow and anguish*
Ace (as a nurse): I'm sorry about your loss...
Epel: ...
Epel: Where's my baby?
Ace: *leaves the room for a moment and comes back with a baby wrapped in a towel*
Ace: *hands the baby to him*
Epel: *looks at the baby's face* *starts to tear up* They're so beautiful...
Vil: *holding back his tears*
Rook: *crying* Where did they get the baby?
Vil: Please, Rook... Would you not ruin it?
Kalim: *sniffles* It's a doll.
Rook: Okay... Thanks, Roi d'Or.
Epel: *takes the dead baby home*
Epel: *sets the baby down gently on the crib*
Epel: You were healthy...
Epel: ...
Epel: What did I do wrong? *starts sobbing again*
Sebek (acts as MC): Ara~. What do we have here?
Silver: Huh?
Lilia: *laughing*
Malleus: When did Sebek can change his voice like that?
MC: Very well, Mr. Zigvolt. *chuckles*
Deuce (the narrator): The mother treated the baby like if they were alive. Mysteriously enough, the baby didn't show any signs of decomposition, even though two months had already passed.
The audience: WHAT?!! TWO MONTHS?!!
Sebek: QUIET! THE PRESENTATION ISN'T FINISHED YET!
Ace and Epel: *stern* Sebek.
Sebek: Grr. Let's continue with the next scene.
Deuce: However, the mother woke up one day and noticed the baby wasn't in their crib.
Deuce: But there, in the corner of the room, was a mysterious being.
Sebek: *clears throat, copying MC's voice*
Sebek: "Look outside, kind mortal. Your baby is waiting for you."
Epel: Waiting... for me?
Sebek: "Yes... *chuckles* What's with the shock expression on your face?"
Sebek: "Isn't your baby alive?"
The audience: ...
The audience: *claps*
MC: *stood up* *smiles* Great job, everyone. Especially you, Mr. Felmier and Mr. Zigvolt.
Epel and Sebek: Thank you, sensei!
MC: Now, Mr. Spade. What's your theory?
Deuce: ...
Deuce: Sensei... Would it be possible that you're a half-deity?
Ace: HUH? Dude! You said that they might be a spirit or something!
Jack: Why are you changing it?
Deuce: ...
Deuce: Deities are not equal when it comes to power or abilities. And there are some beliefs that they shouldn't have strong attachments to mortals.
Deuce: Sensei, could it be that you have a strong attachment to this world and that you did something forbidden? And that allows you to possess a dead body of a mortal.
MC: ...
MC: Congratulations, Mr. Spade. Your theory is correct.
Deuce: Wha— A-Are you serious, sensei?!
MC: *nods*
Ace: N-No way!
The first-years: *cheered*
MC: *chuckles*
The housewardens: ...
Malleus: That's quite unexpected. Now MC-sensei got me even more curious.
Azul: That explains why they could beat the headmage and the Queen of Briar Valley.
Riddle: So I've been trying to compete with a half-deity...
Idia: Lol. When?
Leona: I want to know what that forbidden thing they did.
Vil: Do you think they would tell us?
Kalim: Maybe?
MC: In the near future, yes.
The housewardens: AHHH!

Contemplating the idea of an AU where Starclan and other paranormal stuff is never confirmed to actually exist.
Either we never get a medicine cat POV, or their experiences with the supernatural are somewhat ambiguous. Example: They usually dream of Starclan or the dead at the half-moon meetings, but not always, and the dreams are often weird and fade from their memories like normal dreams, making it hard to tell if they actually received a message, or if the power of suggestion influenced their dreams.
Leaders are still taken to the Moonstone/Moonpool, but they don't get a big Starclan ceremony where they receive nine lives; it's similar to medicine cats, they may have a Starclan themed dream that night, they might not. It's believed Starclan lends them their strength; as far as most cats are concerned, this means leaders live longer and are more likely to recover from wounds that will kill an unblessed cat. However, while some leaders make surprising recoveries from wounds and illnesses that ought to have been fatal, it's unclear if this is actually magic or luck. They're also well protected and treated by their Clan, which may account for their increased lifespan.
The Dark Forest/Place of no Stars is believed in by the cats, but the most anyone might ever see of it is nightmares of a dull, empty-skied woodland. Often, it's cats who feel guilty in some way that have these dreams. No spirits come out to train or hurt them, but every now and again sinister eyes may watch them from afar...
Midnight and Rock probably don't show up. Midnight could maybe work as a badger who learned to speak cat somehow, but I have no idea how Rock could fit into this one.
The Three are very skilled, abnormally so, but they still have clear limitations. Lionblaze is an excellent fighter who rarely gets hurt, but despite terrified rumours in the other Clans, he definitely isn't invincible and can be defeated. Dovewing has strong senses and tends to pick up on things other cats missed because of this, but can't hear things that happen on the other side of the lake. Jayfeather has a talent for guessing what other cats are thinking and feeling, but his guesses can be completely off-base.
Most cats believe in Starclan, but there's way more cats who are unsure or privately atheist. It's not uncommon for leaders and medicine cats to have crises of faith because they aren't having visions like they think they should. One of the things that contributed to Bluestar's breakdown was not witnessing anything Starclan-related at her leadership ceremony, or when she returned to the Moonstone for advice.
Bramblestar's being possessed is a rumour that starts after he gets ill and becomes a different, crueller person afterwards. The belief is that Shadowsight's experimental snow cure to break his fever actually killed him, and without Starclan watching over them a malign spirit entered his body. Not everyone believes this is what caused his change in personality, but it's especially popular in Shadowclan, where Shadowsight experiences many terrifying visions of a shadow looming over Bramblestar's corpse.

Tumblr media
This is chapter three of my 'The Neverending Story' series. This is a pick a pile reading meant to reveal what doubt lingers inside you and what you should have more confidence in.
Paid Readings | Patreon | Tip Jar
Pile one Pile two
Tumblr media
Pile three Pile four
Tumblr media
✧ Pile one ✧
There's someone that has wronged you and you feel like they won't get their karma.  From the outside, it looks like they're being rewarded for their injustice. They could look they're thriving on social media and are surrounded by praise that they don't deserve, and this could anger you to the point where you want to take matters into your own hands. Regardless of if you don't worship a deity and practice a certain religion, you do somewhat have a belief that there's a higher power, and that karma is a thing that exists, but the doubt that lingers inside you is the misconception that you aren't worth avenging for in a higher power's eyes, that karma leaves victims behind, that you aren't loved and that your existence is a punishment, or that your spiritual team has no power to make things right. There's a feminine spirit that I'm picking up, could be a guide, ancestor, or deity, but most importantly, a confirmation that you are cared for, loved, and there isn't anything that they wouldn't do for you when it comes to your protection or guiding you to be your best self, but there's this plead from them, for you to have more trust that they are handling the situation, you may not like the timing, but they want you to understand that strings are definitely being pulled behind the scenes, and to not be fooled by what's superficial. They know how much this means to you, but they care more about how you see yourself, and to not walk around with the belief that no one cares about you. Even if it feels like it's hard to find a person on this earth to trust, start with your people, and know that you're loved immensely by them.
(Lorde - White Teeth Teens)
The situation could have robbed your passion to speak up for yourself, or even at least, write about what ails you, because you feel that what you say, won't matter. But the song that I channeled while interpreting your spread, there's this lyric that sticks out, "we got the glow in our mouths", there's so much light in speaking your truth, even if your story is too heavy or sunshine and rainbows for others, darkness can be a light too for the way it reveals. In general,
✧ Pile two ✧
There's doubt over seeing yourself as strong enough for your current battles. Strength is one of the most misconstrued concepts when it comes to our humanity. You could feel like you're not a strong person because you've "slipped" on the days where you couldn't stand still for much longer, but there's power in letting go, especially when it comes to crying. Feeling ashamed to release is because we've been taught that strength is about how much you can keep in. But if that's what you personally choose to define as strength, then please know that you do not have to be "strong" all of the time, and doesn't make you weak. Surrendering the armor, doesn't mean you can't win the war. We aren't meant to dodge and block everything that comes our way, because the art of being vulnerable is what allows for resilience to exist. Those of you in this pile should have more confidence in being human, than making yourselves a deity with the way you set self-sabotaging expectations for yourself, I'm specifically picking up a martyr complex that some of you may have a martyr complex, where you're sacrificing your comfort for the sake of being the bigger person or just the good person in general, but another thing about releasing in order to get the confidence that you need, is letting go of being silent for another person's peace, wanting everyone to see you a certain way will only take your power away and wave it over your head until you finally drop kick them to get it back.
✧ Pile three ✧
Right away, I'm picking up that there's doubt around how much your purpose and direction in life. I'm getting that people in this group feel like they have to tip toe around people when it comes to talking about your blessings or even about yourself in general in fear of offending someone, but this is wavering your confidence by feeling like you have to get permission from another person to exist. No way, if your wins and the positive things about you offends another person, let them sort out those issues on their own, but your path in life? No one can take that from you but yourself, in fact, you block your blessings by not allowing yourself to shine, don't be afraid to take up space, because we live in a world of scarcity due to people falling for the illusion of there not being enough room for all. This is also message about protection, if you've been in fear over someone cursing you in some way, whether directly or passively, let them seethe, because their insecurity, jealousy, hatred, is not your truth. This is also about showcasing your talents and taking interests in new hobbies, have more confidence in the art that you want to make, by letting go of how it could possibly make another person feel. Your potential is limitless only when you actually work towards it, don't hold yourself back from it by remaining stagnant. You also need to be more confident in your wins that materialize into your present, don't get caught up on how big or small they are, or the durability of them, that is one of the fastest ways to discouraging yourself and burnout. Your blessings aren't too good to be true, your skills aren't too good to be true, your purpose isn't too good to be true, and your presence isn't too good to be true-so why are you trying to minimize it?
✧ Pile four ✧
There's doubt over life and death. This pile could be doubting if they're learning anything or healing and there's also some doubt if there's even a point in learning lessons in life. For some of you, I'm picking up that you could be praying to someone who passed away (ancestor or a closer relative), but there's frustration over the possibility of not being heard or wondering if there's even an afterlife. I feel like this message is a confirmation that you are being listened to by them and they want you to speak to yourself as you talk to them when you pray (be nice and respectful)—don't diminish the progress that you make just because you don't you see your results yet, your healing is sincere because it was never supposed to be glitz and glamor, when it seems like moving on or your feelings are in a retrograde, that's still healing. When you make a mistake that breaks your streak, that's still healing. When you disengage with something that you usually react to, and vice versa, that's still healing. What you know now that you didn't know before, is how you know that you're learning. Life is complex, but you make it less overwhelming, when you make it simple. Have more confidence that your work is paying off, by withdrawing the urge to over analyze what it should look according to another person, or even yourself. Also, continue to pray to that person you hold dearly to your heart because emotional support doesn't have to be material, it can be spiritual too and just as effective as well. Try writing your prayers out on paper and to include specific signs (numbers, animals, music, plants, objects, etc) to ask for confirmation that you're being listened to, you'll find that you are, and that you too are being communicated with because it will grow to something stronger and comprehensible.

Spirit Work: Connecting to Spirits through Food
We've all got to eat. I'm a huge proponent of casual, every day spirit work and devotions. In my post about Hanging Out, I briefly mentioned sitting down for a meal with your chosen spirit(s) to bond. That concept goes beyond just eating together, of course. There's far more than just eating when it comes to food.
Food as Devotion to Spirits
Food is the heartbeat of culture. Consider where your ancestors came from.
If you talk to folk practitioners, especially ones who do spirit work with ancestors, they'll tell you about all the things they've learned about their culture, their history, their people, and where their beliefs came from. Well, maybe -- folk practitioners are often a secretive bunch, and for good reason. Our practices are highly personal, constructed from local and family beliefs, cultural hand-me-downs, and word of mouth.
Even if you aren't a folk practitioner, there's value in looking to the foods and ingredients that were (or still are) crucial to the culture you come from. Especially if you work with your ancestors, but this can apply to deity and other spirit work, too.
And this doesn't just apply to immigrant US Americans whose families came from Europe, either. Think about where you live now, too. What did your grandparents or great-grandparents like to eat? What dish is your hometown renowned for? What's your country's signature dish?
Research is devotion. The time you spend asking questions or reading about the foods that formed the foundation of your culture's existence is time devoted to the spirits connected to that culture. Even for spirits with whom you have no ancestral ties, like deities from other cultures, researching the foods they were historically offered is valuable.
Taking time to learn how to make a dish and then taking the time to actually make it is a great offering. So long as it's done conscientiously and with purpose, it counts.
When you sit down to eat, dedicate the meal to the spirit(s). Set a place for them at the table and put together a little serving of everything on offer. The contents of the meal don't necessarily matter. Hell, I've set aside a chicken nugget and little pile of french fries for spirits before. Offer the first bite, a taste of whatever the spirit would like. Then, dig in and know that you're sharing a meal with that spirit.
The idea is that learning about, making, sharing, and consuming the foods that have been made for years -- centuries, even, sometimes! -- forges a strong connection. It's all about learning and appreciation.
Food as Connection... to the Living
There are few experiences more powerful than sharing a meal. Cooking for someone, having someone cook for you, going out to eat, going through a drive-thru -- it doesn't matter. People have been gathering to enjoy meals since time immemorial. Food is love, I really do believe that. To consciously choose to share a meal is an act of love.
I'm of the perhaps controversial opinion that the most important spirit work occurs with the living. Living, breathing, human people. We all have spirits, and we nurture ourselves every day. But do we nurture each other?
When we die, we don't really know what happens. There are countless theories on the subject, and I don't plan on revealing mine currently. If you work with spirits, chances are you've got your own thoughts; and even if you don't, you might still have thoughts.
The vast majority of spirit work we see in books and online occurs with the intangible spirit world. Deities, ghosts, Fair Folk, and the like. There's nothing wrong with that, necessarily, but I do think practitioners who don't turn their attention to the living are missing out.
Making connections with the living is critical. My views on spirit work have been massively impacted by interactions with volunteer programs, community outreach programs, and events in my community.
Don't wait until they're dead to respect them. Whoever they are, don't wait.
If it's your family members, ask about their favorite foods. What did their parents make them, and when? What's their go-to secret ingredient? What do they make for the holidays, and why? What traditions do they follow? Why do they make this particular soup on this particular day?
If it's your community leaders -- who can absolutely be your ancestors, too, even if you've never met them in person -- talk to them about where they came from. What did they eat as a child? Where do they like to go when they eat out, and why? Would they share that cookie recipe with you from the last community potluck?
Understanding the living will help you understand the dead. Not only will you form strong, lasting connections to people who care about you in your life, but it'll also strengthen your ties to those who are gone. Spirits of your ancestors will recognize your efforts to learn and preserve the memories of the people in your family and community. Your deities will see you reaching out and learning, and they will appreciate it as devotion to the culture they came from.
You don't need to be a fabulous cook or even cook at all. It all comes down to the effort you're putting in. Learning is enough. Reaching out is enough. The work is enough.

God I'm gonna miss Drolta in S2. She was clearly someone in production's favorite character and it shows. Hell, she's one of MY favorites too!!! S2 is just gonna feel empty without Drolta's presence... I hope in S2, we get flashbacks of her so Drolta's character can live on in spirit, so to speak.
After all, she was an Egyptian priestess; So compared to other vampires for whom we have canonical age ranges for (either from the show or as implied by the source material), that makes Drolta our oldest vampire by a long shot. In terms of age, she makes Dracula himself, and even the Varney persona, look like babies.
I'm really hoping we get flashbacks that explore Erzsebet's backstory, and tie it with Drolta's; I don't think it's a coincidence that Erzsebet is impersonating the stolen power of an Egyptian goddess, and meanwhile her lieutenant and most loyal follower was an Egyptian priest. What happened, what came first; Did Erzsebet drink Sekhmet's blood, and Drolta worshipped her because of that, seeing Bathory as a god incarnate?
Or was it the other way around; Drolta helped Erzsebet drink Sekhmet's blood by using her knowledge and connections as a priest. What are her motives, because let's be real, Drolta is gleefully helping this white woman appropriate her own religion. I think that's an angle worth exploring, especially since Olrox is much more aware, and motivated, by this angle regarding Bathory. They're both vampires of color, yet Olrox is compelled to fight Erzsebet for this, while Drolta serves Erzsebet in spite of the fact. Did Drolta betray her own beliefs for some Erzsebussy???
I've also seen theories that Drolta is more of a Varney/Death here, pretending to be a supporter, a follower, when in reality she's the one pulling the strings for her own benefit. Which makes it a shame that she's dead; You can't account for everything in your plans! Or maybe Drolta isn't dead. I'd love it if Bloodlines got adapted, and they brought back Drolta as the evil crone she was in the games (hags are fun characters), maybe explaining her appearance as a disguise, or poor aging after she shriveled up from Alucard's stab.
I just think Drolta has a lot of character potential, either from a posthumous perspective, or by resurrecting her, since Castlevania has well-established that as a possibility with Forgemasters and the like. Maybe we'll see her get brought back as a night creature. I'd love it if Drolta got fleshed out more in flashbacks, and we got to see just how much of a spanner in the works she ended up being, and the pivotal role she plays; Give her actions huge ramifications post-mortem!!! Give Drolta a massive legacy! Make her like Enya from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure or something; Incredibly important lore-wise, despite being taken out relatively early within the main story.

hey chicken! what can i do in the dry periods in which there is nothing really bothering me? as in, how can i further my practice with spirits and witchcraft if i am not actively needing to do a spell?
What a great question! This is a problem that plagues many practitioners. Here's a few ideas in no particular order:
Take a break and do nothing. IMO, a vital part of growth in witchcraft is growth of the witch. Just by living life, you develop yourself and therefore your craft. Your witchcraft evolves at the exact same pace as you evolve. It is in lockstep with you; it is you, it comes from you. It is never separate from you.
So do literally anything - relax and steep yourself into a tea of nonaction, learn a new hobby, watch that Netflix series, go for a walk. Do anything, including nothing.
Learn a new creative hobby, by the way. A significant portion of my practice these days is making things. My beliefs advise that the act of physical creation is very powerful and a very good way to bind magic into our physical world.
Christmas is coming up and it's the perfect time to learn to crochet coasters, paint watercolor bookmarks, calligraphy for fancy cards, and so on. Knowing most of us, we probably have expensive and barely-used craft materials in the closet from last summer's hyperfixation! Pick something up again and learn to use it for small projects.
As you hobby away, ask yourself how the skill you're learning might translate to witchcraft.
When it's time to do magic again, you'll have extra tools in your toolbox. Hand-made bags for spell sachets, devotional artwork, stunning sigils: by learning a skill and meditating on its mystical uses, we unlock new doors in our path that may lead to mysterious and winding hallways of possibility.
You can also do drills. Whatever sort of magic you do, you can break it down to its composite parts and practice it. Suppose you like to do a lot of candle magic where you charge the candle. Well, practice that. Get a pack of 100 tea lights and practice charging each one. Fill it with a specific sort of energy. Come back the next day and fill it again. And again. Carve a symbol on top. Do you perceive that it is easier to charge the candle when a corresponding symbol has been carved into it? Put it away. How long does it stay charged for?
Learn a new method of charging. Maybe you like to do visualization + willpower charging. Now, try something new: charging through offerings. Charging through sacrifice. Charging through prayer. Compare the results to your original method. Is it less draining? More? Does it stay charged as long? Is the quality of energy different? What about when you carve a symbol and then pray over it, does that make a difference?
(the benefit of this is ending up with a hundred pre-charged candles ready for spellwork when the time comes)
Of course, you may work over substances specifically meant to be worked over ahead of time. Oils, waters, potions, and powders may be prepared ahead of time, especially at opportune astrological appointments, and accumulate a great deal of power before they're needed. Many traditional recipes call for an incense or oil to steep for months before it is used.
What kind of magic do you often end up doing? Are you regularly blessing, generating good luck, or drawing prosperity? Perhaps your practice would benefit from careful preparation of a blessing incense, worked over for a few months before it's put into use.
If you're in a creative mood, maybe there is some big project you've been putting off - building of spirit houses, making of fancy altar cloths, crafting of special ceremonial masks - that you could finally get started on.
Moving away from mundane creation, perhaps there's some magical skill you'd like to adopt. Astral travel, new methods of divination, new methodologies of spellwork, and so on. If there's truly nothing for you to cast on, learning about a system is better than not learning about a system. You'll still take away more than nothing.
A healthy period of self-examination may also serve. Try giving a name to your practice (something very cool and 90s, like Path of the Golden Crow) and writing a handbook for hypothetical novices who want to join this path. What are the foundational skills of your practice? What are your core beliefs? What spell or ritual formats must people be able to work if they want to be a Golden Crow?
Pouring energy back into spiritual relationships is always a good option. It's my experience that spirits don't like feeling like vending machines, and relationships may turn sour if we only show up when we need something from them. Spend a lot of time talking to the spirits. Ask them what you should be doing.
If your skills with spirit work are limited, actively practice psychism, divination, astral travel, or other methods of spirit contact.
Of course, you can also just do spellwork regardless. Why does something have to be bothering you before you cast on it? Wouldn't you like to get a pay raise, or have more ideal hours? Would you like your blog to have more followers? Would you like a very expensive tool or crafting supply on the cheap? Maybe you'd like to meet similarly-minded folks in your local area. The list goes on.
Now, I will say something to wrap this up: plateaus are good and necessary. There is a difference between a plateau and a rut. I started this list off with "literally do nothing" for a reason. Periods of rest are not periods of stagnation, and things are often going on behind the scenes without us realizing it.
A few years ago, a witch friend of mine said she felt she had plateaued and asked me for a reading on how to get to the "next level." The reading was very bizarre and recommended that she basically implode her own life by making horrible decisions.
"Judy," I said, "isn't it true that all your periods of growth in witchcraft have been because something horrible happened, and you had to adapt to survive?"
"Yes," she said.
"Then enjoy your plateau," I advised, "and don't try to get out of it."

Chapter 47 of Harrow the Ninth
Tumblr media
Commander Wake's last thoughts, I guess? It's interesting that she could have chosen to save her own life by killing Gideon and didn't, especially since in the last chapter Mercy was talking about how she didn't care about family and didn't want to be a mother, and she doesn't seem like a motherly person, anyway, and she literally refers to Gideon as "the payload" here. Was Gideon's mere presence on Pluto meant to bring the plan to fruition somehow? Mercy definitely doesn't seem to think that worked out that way, but I don't know what Commander Wake was expecting to happen after she died, exactly
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm not sure if he's trying to say here that she was haunted by a literal ghost, or haunted by a metaphorical ghost, or that going through that much bullshit fucks everyone up and she shouldn't be so hard on herself. Because I'm very interested to know if all those experiences were just due to her being haunted by literal ghost, personally
Tumblr media
This is fun to contrast to Cytherea's recounting of this story back in Gideon the Ninth:
Tumblr media
She makes it sound like they had some deep Seventh House heart-to-heart and Dulcinea was totally fine with this plan and didn't object to being killed at all. I love that we get to meet the real Dulcinea and find out that she does hate Cytherea just as much as everyone else does
Also, Harrow doesn't tell her this for some reason, but her lying about who her friends were did help Camilla figure it out, I think. Just not before she'd killed a bunch of people and Palamedes had figured it out by a different route
Tumblr media
Who is she getting revenge on in this particular scenario, though? I don't think she really has a horse in this race. Cytherea is not here, John is not here, she doesn't have anything to do with Commander Wake and I don't think anyone in this scene actually knows who the Sleeper is at this point. Or does Dulcinea think that the Sleeper is Cytherea?
Tumblr media
Is all the blood in the River bubble not actually real enough? Yes, it's all just a fake environment made of spirit, but like, other things in the bubble have been real enough to use for necromancy - the animal fat candles, or Harrow's bone chips, etc.
Tumblr media
Does Harrow not recognize the suit? Gideon at least remembered the suit, but since Commander Wake's death wasn't actually all that relevant to Harrow and happened before she was born, maybe she was just never told about it. Did Wake then just randomly possess a sword that happened to be in the Ninth armory, and just by luck that sword was requested for Gideon? Only, when they were going through swords at the very beginning of Gideon the Ninth, all of them were old and rusted and unusable, so it would be probably somewhat remarkable for an actual good one to wind up in there, so maybe it does have some special history? Commander Wake almost certainly didn't actually have it on her when she died, she very much seems to prefer guns to gigantic swords
And Harrow always sensed that the sword was haunted, but Gideon never did, Gideon thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. Is it just because Gideon has the necromantic ability of a brick, or did the sword being haunted by her mom actually draw her to it?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is Harrow still interpreting her feelings about Gideon as just being like totally normal things to feel about you cavalier, and that's all that is, no romo, etc.?
Tumblr media
It's definitely the sword
It's interesting that Wake calls them "wizards" and what they do "magic", you would think that BOE would really be playing up the evil necromancy angle here
Tumblr media
So, I guess the ghosts can be killed permanently here, but since they're also imposing their own rules on the bubble, they can also survive things that should kill them in the real world with a strong enough belief, or will power, or something, like how Wake survived being shot multiple times by Marta?
This series sure does love long fights between people who technically can't die, I have to say it removes a lot of tension when so many people are immortal or otherwise unkillable
Tumblr media
Can Wake actually exert her own rules on the bubble enough to make it possible to counter necromancy with guns?
Tumblr media
I see. So Wake wants to take over Harrow's body, and presumably go kill John and end the whole war with a win for BOE. Or maybe she wants to resolve some shit with Mercy and Gideon the First as well, but I'm sure she also probably wants to kill John, and this book has been repeatedly promising that John will be murdered on every chapter header. I guess it was just perfect luck for Wake that the random sword she possessed wound up in Harrow's possession after she became a Lyctor and now she's on board the Mithraeum with everyone that Wake has unfinished business with?
Tumblr media
I sense that Ortus is about to impose some hilarious new rule on the bubble, probably related to the Noniad

✩ — 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐂𝐒.
Tumblr media
▸     IS  YOUR  MUSE  TALL  /  SHORT  /  AVERAGE? Average but on the short side of that.
▸      ARE  THEY  OKAY  WITH  THEIR  HEIGHT ? Not at all, Yusuke wishes he was taller, not even six feet but at the very least five-eleven.
▸      WHAT’S    THEIR    HAIR    LIKE? Soft on most days. Contrary to popular belief, Yusuke's hair IS NOT drowned in gel 24/7. Especially after school was over. The pompadour really was just to sell the fact that he was a delinquent. Once he was down with school Yusuke dropped the gel unless he was attending a pretty extravagant party.
▸     DO    THEY    SPEND    A    LOT    OF    TIME    ON    THEIR    HAIR    /    GROOMING? Nah, it's just a few swipes with the comb and he's good to go.
▸      DOES  YOUR  MUSE  CARE  ABOUT  THEIR  APPEARANCE  /  WHAT  OTHERS  THINK ? Not really, if people had a problem with his appearance then he's the type to get in their faces so they could 𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙠 about it.

▸     READING    OR    PLAYING    A    GAME? playing a game.
✩ — 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐄.
▸      WHAT    ARE    SOME    OF    YOUR    MUSE’S    BAD    HABITS? Lack of respect for personal boundaries, impulsiveness, hardheaded, perverse, procrastinator and stonewalling.
▸      HAS  YOUR  MUSE  LOST  ANYONE  CLOSE  TO  THEM?  HOW  HAS  IT  AFFECTED   THEM? The first person he truly lost was his Ancestral father and to be honest he was confused on what he felt. As he stated himself he was more than ready to hate and disregard this person because of what he had to deal with in his life. But even during their first meeting, the man MIGHT have been aggressive but he was more of a father than Yusuke's actual human father and that's what has him conflicted. He felt that Raizen had been stolen from him before he's gotten the chance to ever get to know him and THIS spawns a certain aspect to Yusuke's character where he would bond with strong older male figures. A way for him to find the father that he desperately craves.
▸      WHAT  ARE  SOME  FOND  MEMORIES  YOUR  MUSE  HAS? Playing in the park with his mother when he was VERY young, the first day he's ever met Keiko, the night of his wake when he realized that there are people that cared for him..they were few but it was enough, the first big mission success being a spirit detective because he''s not only saved the souls of children but perhaps there's actually something HE can do with his life, there was a day Genkai took him out in the forest and taught him how to survive off the wilderness.
▸     IS  IT  EASY  FOR  YOUR  MUSE  TO  KILL? Too easy actually, and it's for this very reason he keeps his powers locked away, so something like that would never happen in the general public.
▸      WHAT’S  IT  LIKE  WHEN  YOUR  MUSE  BREAKS  DOWN? Yusuke is repressive by nature, While people will probably never see him break down (unless they're a lover or something) he does really get distraught. Everything he's withheld for so long all comes spilling out simultaneously and Yusuke just weeps sometimes.
▸      IS  YOUR  MUSE  CAPABLE  OF  TRUSTING  SOMEONE  WITH  THEIR  LIFE? Yep, and if that's your muse then they should really consider themselves special because putting his life in someone else's hand is definitely not something he practices often.
▸      WHAT’S  YOUR  MUSE  LIKE  WHEN  THEY’RE  IN  LOVE? He's not really THAT much different. He's still incredibly rough and perverted but all of his perverse antics will be aimed towards the person he's in love with. They would also receive random meals throughout the week, bento boxes too.

I've been catching up on Jujutsu Kaisen, and boy is Mahito fun. His personality, his design, his Idle Transfiguration.
For those who don't watch or read JJK, Idle Transfiguration lets Mahito twist the body and soul of anyone he touches. He turns people into monsters, or weapons, or walls. And he twists his own form even more elegantly, turning his arms into whips or blades, or giving himself rabbit feet to run faster, or taking on a whole new shape, or even splitting in two.
The part of my brain that tries to turn everything into a Worm crossover made a connection between Idle Transfiguration and Panacea's power. And they're almost complete opposites aside from that. Amy insists on a harsh dichotomy between good and evil, and worries that she's sliding into villainy by failing to be the best paragon she can be. Mahito has beliefs and such, but mostly seeks his own pleasure—even, or perhaps especially, at the expense of others.
There's gotta be a way to make that into something. Force the two of them to live together for a while. Maybe Mahito gets nearly exorcised, reduced to a blip of a cursed spirit, and takes up residence in Panacea's head while he recovers. He convinces Amy that there's no way she'd survive if the heroes/sorcerers knew she had something like him living in her.
Maybe he tries to convince her to act out, live a little; he's bored and she's boring. Amy's already acting selfishly by not telling anyone about the monster in her head, so she's a bit more receptive. Mahito pushes Amy to go farther than she's comfortable, but with a little guidance from her family (who don't know what's going on), she finds a happy medium.
Maybe Mahito picked Amy because he figures resonance between her power and his will make it easier to assimilate her, when he's ready to return. Amy's iron principles mean she'd never bend to that kind of pressure; she'd hold fast until she shattered, making her easy prey. But when he tries it at some critical moment, what should be Amy's weakest moment, she finds the strength to bend—to compromise—to accept Mahito merging with her, and in doing so direct it, absorbing Mahito more than he absorbs her. A way of externally reflecting the character development she went through.
If I was gonna write something like that, it would make sense to set it in motion shortly before the Slaughterhouse Nine arc, right? The Shibuya Incident could replace Leviathan, the moment of weakness could be something the Nine do, like when they almost killed Victoria or when Jack Slash and Bonesaw were trying to pressure her to join them. And absorbing Mahito—gaining his power—that could be the turnaround against whatever the Slaughterhouse Nine were planning.
Am I crazy, or is there something there?

I'm going to say it a million times until all these butt-hurt solo stans and akgaes get it:
Just because Jungkook got a treatment that seems preferential (I'll add to this later), doesn't mean that none of the other members got a similar offer from Hybe nor that the company is preparing to turn from a BTS focus to a JK one.
We don't know ANYTHING about the behind the scenes negotiations, but we know something:
All members re-signed with Hybe, even having shares in the company. BTS could've split and made an unbelievably beneficial deal with one of the other companies because they're BTS. They are incredibly powerful, and you bet they have just as incredible lawyers. They could've founded their own label easily, if nothing would have been to their liking. BUT THEY STAYED. BTS aren't weak teens, unable to fend for themselves. They never had issues with standing up for their beliefs, which is why they stood out, and still continue to, from other Kpop acts.
The relationship between OT7 hasn't fallen apart. I've seen so many speculations about "oh, Vmin aren't close anymore" because of ONE hug. A speculation that was promptly debunked in a BangtanBomb. They all support one another whenever they can, and especially behind the scenes. No matter what Canon and motives certain parts of this fandom are trying to establish. I'm adding shippers onto the Solo-Stans and akgaes here, because it often are the more accepted shipping spaces that seem to give a platform to a lot of the harmful rethorics (i.e. the mistreatment of Jimin and Tae in comparison to Jungkook etc).
Every member has had his moment to shine. All 7 of them could've gone on a world tour like Yoongi did, and sold out. With ease. All 7 of them would've slayed a more US focused album promotion like Jungkook. Yes, there was certainly forecasts and finance meetings because Hybe are a company which BTS are employed by. But, again, BTS aren't mindless puppets. They didn't get where they are if they didn't stand up for themselves. So, at some point, they said no. What I find especially insidious are the people constantly focusing on the maknae line and trying to prove mistreatment while ignoring the releases of the hyungs/rapline. For certain issues people keep pointing out (restocking CDs) I have also seen posts from other fandoms saying similar things. Also: dear US-Army, the world doesn't revolve around you. Sincerely, an EU-Army that hasn't seen BTS live since before the pandemic.
Sorry to everyone who disagrees but I see Jungkook's success as a bonus to the entirety of BTS. A win for one of them is a win for the team. Everyone from OT7 had that effect, bringing in different subgroups and music fans into the fold. And no matter how much I myself f.e. love D-Day and Face, I also know that Jungkook has by far the biggest starpower apart from the group. They're ALL charismatic and beautiful, talented and intelligent, yet it's always Jungkook that has been shoved into the limelight by everyone else. It wasn't Hybe that gave him so many followers on Instagram, or TikTok. So many people online are quick to make his success a character flaw, assigning narratives and traits onto him, when we should be celebrating him like his hyungs are celebrating him.
Hybe isn't perfect. But there's no reason to vilify them or Jungkook until there is factual, irrefutable evidence and not just "trust me bro" rumours.
We don't even know what the JK brand is going to be - as far as I'm aware, at least. So let's hold our collective horses and not jump the gun.
I trust BTS 100%. I trust these full grown adults, who have been fighting their way upwards through an industry stacked against them for 10 years.
I trust Namjoon's intelligence.
I trust Seokjin no-bullshit attitude.
I trust Yoongi's tenacity.
I trust Hoseok's austerity.
I trust Jimin's fighting spirit.
I trust Tae's quiet strength.
And I trust Jungkook's perfectionism.
BTS don't do inequality - not after they fought so much to become the very sunbaenims they never had in the cutthroat industry of kpop. They run, and fight and pave the way.
To quote Haegeum:
Endless influx of information prohibits freedom of imagination, and seeks conformity of thought
All these painful noises blind you, and
Now it even infringes on freedom of thought
All the controversy incessantly
Triggers confusion in judgment uh
Really, what is it exactly that’s been restricting us?
Maybe we do it to ourselves
Slaves to capitalism, slaves to money
Slaves to hatred and prejudice
Slaves to YouTube, slaves to flexin’
Selfishness and greed have gone off the rails
I close my eyes and it's easy, it’s all so obvious
Opinions clearly split depending on what's to gain
Everyone's been blinded by envy and jealousy
Without realizing that they're putting shackles on each other

I wanted to check if your requests were still open or rather if your inbox was open. But since I have the green light, let's get this trainwreck happening :D (This is a lot of text and I apologise)
Her name is Tia and she's a reincarnate isekai. Maturity-wise, she's about middle 20's, but her physical and chronological ages are two wildly different numbers. She has memories of our world and of the LOZ games. She remembered her past life at the age of seven. She doesn't like her birth name. Her priority is always Link. Her moral basis is mostly "A kingdom that writes its peace in the blood of children is a kingdom that deserves to burn." Tia has since spread this belief. She also believes in learning self-defence and is a decent swordswoman. She keeps her hair long and in braids.
And she reincarnated as Flora.
(Let that sink in.)
Tia calls her past life 'visions' and plays on the whole 'prophecy runs in the family' to get people to listen to her. This allowed her to save a lot of lives during the calamity, but rather than falling protecting her, Link fell protecting other citizens. Tia had to do the whole century-long calamity thing, but since she also knew about her time powers, she managed to save the champions, the backup she ensured they had on the Beasts, and several pockets of survivors. She also managed to act as Link's travelling companion, guiding him and helping when she could. (She couldn't take full human form so she travelled with him as a fox spirit. Link nicknamed her Foxy.)
(I like to think that the gods aren't stupid enough to give Zeldas obscene amounts of power while they're still kids and growing so they either have to grow to the age of wisdom [17] or Ganon needs to be a threat to Hyrule. They still gotta earn it though. Flora turned 17 but didn't earn it until Link fell. Tia managed to unlock it a bit earlier, but she unlocked all of her power and her body nearly tore itself apart due to barely not being physically old enough to handle it, leaving scars all over her body like cracks.)
She also warned people about the Upheaval, the Demon King and prepared them for it. Hyrule walked into that particular paradox, ready and prepared. In terms of certain side-quests, Tia told people why she blocked off certain things or why she was borrowing certain items.
She also warned people about an imposter (IYKYK) and made sure she could be identifiable by wearing something green. Her imposter never wore green. And she told Link everything she could and wrote it all down for him, helping him in any way she could. She also warned him about her fate if things played out like her 'visions'. Which they did, but Link had full permission to use whatever he needed from her (IYKYK). She prepared the sages, past and future, for the long term. She always made sure to ask for help and never implied about Link being the one to face Ganon, making sure he had a choice. (She really hoped Revali would take up the mantle of Wind Sage, but knows she can't control fate and prepares for all outcomes. Tulin is still the Sage and Tia is so proud and so pissed.)
Tia does everything she can to protect Link but always gives him the choice. Link is her priority since 'none of her ancestors ever really did so.' (Tia can count on one hand how many of her ancestors she actively likes and still have fingers left over. [Rauru and Sonia don't count])
So take all of this and then throw her into Sage's Hyrule.
Watch the trainwreck.
(Meanwhile, her Hyrule is in uproar because Tia has never just vanished like this. Especially without telling her Link who she has a very deep platonic bond with.)
Here's a doll-maker pic of her in casual clothes. Because I can't draw
Tumblr media
Thank you for letting me ramble. I just wanna share my girl.
So, first off,
I LOVE HER HFOFHF I LOVE HER
And her morals? I love them. I'm adopting them.
The whole vision bit is always so interesting to me because you can play around with it so much. And with her being reincarnated as Flora? Even better. Like this is so much better than whatever the hell Flora was doing. Saving the champions, keeping the hold on the beasts, AND GUIDING LINK AS A FOX HOFHFO
(While I do think the gods are in fact that stupid, I think they still have to earn it, hence the whole BotW/AoC thing where Flora/ Fauna had to go to the springs and stuff constantly. However, with that amount of power I can imagined that would be a lot for a single body. My own OC has issues handling her power as well, which is another thing I love playing on when it comes to OC's.)
Her explaining things is so much better. ( I do know!) And giving Link a choice in any world is always great, just butters my biscuits like- hfiofhf GIVE HIM A CHOICE- Honestly, and don't get me wrong I love Tulin to absolute bits, he's my favorite Sage, but why wasn't it Teba?...The ADULT?
Sage being faced with someone who's so involved in a choice, and saving him before anyone else??
MMMMM-
AND HER HYRULE GOING INTO MASS PANIC BC THEIR SWEETHEART IS GONE?
I'm just picturing-
Tia, to Sage: I gotta get back to bed before Link realizes I'm gone!
Her Link: Tia?
Her Link: T I A?!?!

The Cycle Repeats: Part III
One of the key themes of the ATLA franchise is the concept of the Avatar; master of all 4 elements, the fusion of humanity and Raava, the spirit of light and order, whose sole duty is to bring balance to the world, and be the bridge between both the physical and spiritual realms. Along with this comes the idea of reincarnation, which is the premise of the Avatar Cycle, the idea that the Avatar reincarnates in a cyclic order in any of the four nations (fire, air, water, earth). Another concept related to the Avatar Cycle (although originating from the fandom) is the idea of the Avatar fixing the mistakes of their past life, which is often indicated in differences in both habitual circumstances and personalities between both predecessor and successor, and therefore differences in morality.
But what if I were to tell you that the saying "history repeats itself" is also true among Avatar incarnations? Not exactly going the same way, but rather parallels between the lives, personalities, and accomplishments (and failures) of past lives?
In this series of metas, I will be going over parallels (or in some cases, foils) between certain pairs of Avatars that lived decades, or even centuries apart, and yet could not have ever been more similar.
Elemental Foils II: Avatars Kuruk and Roku
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Kuruk was the Water Tribe Avatar immediately succeeding Avatar Yangchen and preceding Avatar Kyoshi. Native to the Northern Water Tribe, he was a powerful and gifted bender who dreamed of changing the mortal world for the better by uniting the people and acting upon the foundations laid by Yangchen."
"Roku was the Fire Nation-born Avatar immediately succeeding Avatar Kyoshi and preceding Avatar Aang. Roku's memory served as a guiding force for Aang throughout his quest to end the Hundred Year War."
This post will be a little different, because instead of analyzing the similarities between Kuruk and Roku, I'm going to examine the differences between them. I once again showed part of their respective Avatar Wiki to test whether there are any similarites between them; however most might say "Mone, they may technically be the same person, but aside from Raava, they're completely different people!"
And you'd be dead right.
Before we begin, we must define the word "foil". This word has many meanings, but we're going to define it with a literature standpoint (no, I don't mean the one made from aluminium). Britannica defines the word "foil" as follows:
Foil, in literature, a character who is presented as a contrast to a second character so as to point to or show to advantage some aspect of the second character. An obvious example is the character of Dr. Watson in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories. Watson is a perfect foil for Holmes because his relative obtuseness makes Holmes’s deductions seem more brilliant.
You see, unlike most pairs of Avatars, Kuruk and Roku are the only true "foils", even though they are literally the same person. It's my humble belief that Kuruk is supposed to act as a narrative foil to Roku (compared to the similarities between their successors, Kyoshi and Aang respectively), especially when we take into account Kuruk's extended backstory.
(WARNING: There will be possible spoilers for both The Rise of Kyoshi and The Shadow of Kyoshi, particularly regarding Kuruk's backstory. If you do not wish to be spoiled, I suggest not reading any further and scrolling past this post until you have finished reading both novels. You have been warned.)
The first (and most obvious) difference between Kuruk and Roku is their native element; Kuruk's is water, Roku's is fire. According to the episode The Avatar and the Firelord (Book 3, Episode 6), water has even been established as the element that Roku mostly struggled with mastering (similarly to how Aang struggled to master earthbending), due to it being the opposite of fire, and thus being unable to adapt to change. As a result, it took Roku 12 years to master the four elements.
On the other hand, firebending would be the most obvious choice for the element that Kuruk would most struggle to master. However, Kuruk was stated to be a prodigy in mastering the other three elements, even going so far as to invent a master airbending technique, and being the only Avatar in history confirmed to have participated in an Agni Kai (and apparently won, considering he still has hair), so we could infer even firebending wasn't particularly difficult for him to master. We can infer that it took Kuruk around 4-5 years to master the four elements. Even then, he still asked his Team Avatar to continue teaching him so he could be the best bender of all time, saying that Pai Sho masters never stopped learning and improving their skills. (This man is basically a younger Water Tribe Avatar version of Uncle Iroh, or at least Iroh's role model.)
In The Shadow of Kyoshi, it's revealed that Avatar Yangchen neglected the spiritual world, often siding with humans when making decisions between humans and spirits. As a result, there were many dark spirits ravaging the physical world, and Kuruk hunted down and killed them, harming his own spirit in the process until his early death at 33. At this time, his physical and bending prowess were clearly challenged, especially in his battle against Father Glowworm, and that I already sort-of-talked about here. Short answer: He wasn't a weapon, he was the entire arsenal.
However, by spending so much time in the Spirit World, he accidentally neglected his physical duties (Yangchen, but in reverse), which led to the corruption of the Earth Kingdom (although, in Kuruk's defense, when is the Earth Kingdom ever not corrupt?), as well as an increase in daofei and raids by the Fifth Nation, among many others.
However, it's unknown what sort of conflict Avatar Kyoshi left behind for Roku to solve, at least until Roku's first novel, The Reckoning of Roku, arrives. (Yes, there was the Dai Li, but that was mostly Aang's problem, especially during Azula's invasion of Ba Sing Se.) From what little information we know of Roku's life that is shown in The Avatar and the Firelord, Roku mostly kept his role as the maintainer of the long-lasting peace that Kyoshi worked for. We don't really know what Roku was capable of in terms of bending; however, we can assume he was a pretty competent bender.
The real problems in Roku's time as the Avatar began with his falling out with his childhood friend Sozin. For a long time, Roku was indecisive and couldn't bring himself to kill Sozin and stop his imperialism when he had a chance. As a result, he was indirectly responsible for the Air Nomad Genocide, which resulted in the death of his successor, Avatar Aang's people (and by extension, the Hundred Year War). Roku believed that it was Aang's destiny to end the Hundred Year War and to atone for both of their mistakes, even though the Air Nomad Genocide was not Roku's fault; it was, and still is, Sozin's sole responsibility (looking at you, Avatar blamers).
Even their deaths are similar yet contrary. Kuruk "betrayed" his friends Jianzhu, Kelsang, and Hei-Ran by not communicating with them about his spiritual duties (although, technically they all "betrayed" him first by regarding him as a failure to the world). Roku, on the other hand, was betrayed by Sozin when the latter left the former to die from the volcanic explosion. Kuruk died to protect his friends, while Roku died as a result of his friend's actions.
This also adds an additional tragedy to the fact that in the Spirit World, Roku appears as an old man, while Kuruk appears as a young man. It's a common theory in the ATLA fandom that the Avatars either appear around the age of the greatest defining moment of their lives, or they choose to appear the way they do, since in The Avatar and the Firelord, Aang appeared to be bald and wearing Air Nomad robes in the Spirit World, even though at this point in time, Aang had hair and was wearing his Fire Nation disguise. Either way, it's still an unfair tragedy, since Roku was able to live a long and healthy life, while Kuruk wasn't given the same chance. This parallels their greatest regrets: Kuruk's decisiveness saved the world at the expense of his own life, while Roku's indecisiveness lengthened his own life but ruined the world. @natequarter has talked about this particular detail (in great detail) here.
And yet, their "supposed" legacies and how they are remembered don't do them the appropriate justice they deserved as merely flawed individuals. Their respective successors, Kyoshi and Aang, have contrarian views on their predecessors' achievements. Kyoshi, like the rest of the world, blamed Kuruk for the mess that was left behind for her to solve, while Aang holds Roku in high esteem and regard. I'm pretty sure the Fire Sages also respect him, since in Winter Solstice Part 2: Avatar Roku (Book 1: Episode 8), when the Fire Sages first see Roku after he took over Aang's body, they immediately prostrate before him (which indicates respect and reverence).
Kuruk was forced to sacrifice himself killing dark spirits again and again and again, and he did sort of succeed in bringing balance to the Spirit World, but no one knew the truth, and thus the world mocked Kuruk by calling him a lazy, entitled failure of an Avatar, and this was encouraged by everyone. Roku, on the other hand, had one job and failed miserably, but was never held accountable for his mistakes; rather he was held in high regard among the four nations.
This is exactly the reason why I believe that F. C. Yee made Kuruk a narriative foil to Roku by providing an extended backstory to the former. From their opposing elements, to their journeys as the Avatars of their time, to how they are remembered beyond the grave, one might understand that when you put them together in any context, they only enhance each other and their opposing traits. In the next part, I will explore the parallels between Kuruk's successor, Kyoshi, and the Water Tribe after him, Avatar Korra, along with a very special guest.

Alright I'm trying to get over myself and actually start sharing my original stuff (le gasp!).
Welcome to Essence.
I'm writing it to be a video game series but it can easily be adapted into anything.
Essence is a world of energized spirits, fantastical powers, but with a story of found family and usurping destiny. The best way to describe it is: a mix of Xenoblade Chronicles and Yakuza/RGG.
Let's start at a good spot. The characters. I'll keep this post updated as they get updated
For today, let's introduce the main party of 6! Feel free to send asks about them, as this is the Very Bare Bones stuff.
Lily Tovio (she/her):
17-20 years old. Lily is the main protagonist of the series. She's a kind-hearted girl but also doesn't take shit from anyone. She is very clever, is a good leader, and adheres to her beliefs, but sometimes her emotions can get the better of her. She is really confident in herself, until things start becoming unclear, and then her doubts crawl in. She has a lot of self doubt in many aspects of herself, especially as she's assigned the role of the world's hero.
Background Inspirations: Shionne (tales of arise), Kazuma Kiryu (yakuza 5 specifically)
Personality Inspirations: Phoenix wright (aa3 specifically), Wonder-Red (The Wonderful 101), Noctis (post crystal dive, FFXV)
Character Songs: The Fighter, Superman, Stab Unjust
Battle Themes Inspo: My Own Style, Cornered, Hopes and Dreams
William Paladi (he/him):
19-22 years old. As Lily's older cousin, William is a stoic man, trying to play tough and emotionless. He wants to be a sturdy pillar for Lily to lean on. He shoulders a lot of burdens and emotions but bottles them up until they implode. Underneath it all, he cares for Lily and the rest of the team, but also yearns for his goals to be fulfilled.
Background Inspirations: Taiga Saejima, Dunban (Xenoblade)
Personality Inspirations: Dunban, Testu Tachibana, Gladious (FFXV), angy Roy Mustang
Character Songs: Shield of the King
Battle Theme Inspo: Unstoppable, The Blazing Tactician
Alex Russel (he/him):
17-19 years old. Alex is very smart, but also steadfast and honest. He's Lily's best friend, and is often her voice of reason. Despite his origins and newfound discoveries, he chooses to stand by the people he loves.
Background Inspirations: none as of yet....
Personality Inspirations: Prompto (FFXV), Reyn (Xenoblade), Apollo Justice (AA4 specific), Nanba (LaD)
Character Songs: Blood, Sound of My Heart
Battle Theme Inspo: In A Trance, Devil Trigger
Percival "Percy" Ignaza (he/him)
18-20 years old. Percival is a suave man, confident to a fault, almost. To those close to him, he's a big nerd and is very chaotic. His mysteries draw people in, and he quickly sees the world as a vain and hollow place. Selfish people is all he's known. That is, until he encounters Lily.
Background Inspirations: Percival De Rolo (CR), Miles Edgeworth
Personality Inspirations: Ignis (FFXV), Akiyama (Yakuza 4-6), Han Solo (OG Star Wars)
Character Songs: Bang!, Darkness before the Dawn, Traveler's Song
Battle Theme Inspo: I need to find one soon ack
Robin Vasili (she/her)
18-20 years old. Robin is the heir to the throne of a nation-state. She's well-respected, but doesn't fancy herself in the role of ruler. She considers herself too hot-headed and improper for that role. In fact, she's a bit confused that she's the chosen heir, when her older sibling is right there and is more than willing to lead. So she runs to get a taste of life away from her duties, and crosses paths with the team.
Background Inspirations: Melia (Xenoblade), Dohalim (Tales of Arise)
Personality Inspirations: Saeko (LaD), Katara (A:TLA)
Character Songs: none yet...
Battle Theme Inspo: The Flower of Chivalry, Fatal Blooms in the Moonlight
Enzo Wilson (they/them)
16-18 years old. Outwardly, Enzo is very quiet and their appearance is very intimidating. Spend some time with them however, and you'll find they're a huge softie. Taking after their older brother, they act like papa bear to the rest of the cast. But, they still have their grudges, and their issues...
Background Inspirations: Higashi (Judgment)
Personality Inspirations: Ichiban (LaD), Sig (Puyo Puyo), Caduceus Clay (CR)
Character Songs: Brokenbrow, A Reason to Fight
Battle Theme Inspo: also doesn't have any yet

Hii !! I found your blog not so long ago, i'm absolutely in awe with your shifting journey !! It inspires me a lot. I discovered shifting years ago but i dig it deeper since last months. I've succeed shifted for the 1st time but it was short very short, nevertheless it gives me great happiness and joy !! I'm going to shift to Harry Potter reality.
I decided to permashift there, but actually i think permashift is just shifting normally right ? Permashift or no we are still the one who decides how long we are gonna stay there anyway. Do you mind if i ask for some of your opinion or knowledge ?
1. I received a reading before, and she said my spirit guides and universe will block my shifting because i have bigger purposes in this reality. I kinda dislike that idea because i think it's kinda my choice, like i believe we decides everything. What do you think about it ?
2. I believe my intention is clear and strong and my beliefs is clearly strong. But i kinda still failed to shift, i do had dreams in which in that dream i succeed shifting very easily and in that dream i got symptoms that felt so real ! It kinda surprised me since it was just a dream yet the symptoms was vivid. What is your advice may i ask ?
3. Why do like we automatically shift back to our cr ? Eventhough we want to stay ? Is it that our spirit guides or universe really bring us back ? Or another reason ??
I hope you don't mind answering this TT thank you so so much. You really do motivates me a lot when i sometimes lose hope. Especially when that one reader said i won't be satisfied and happy in my dr, i strongly disagree since i decide it but again it's just a reading !! I prove it wrong anyway, i LOVE my 1st shifting. Thank you so much !!
Oh that's wonderful! I hope you fun! The wizarding world is a really fun reality to be in :)
I have a post that covers permashifting here, but yes, it is literally just shifting but with the added intention to stay there permanently.
In regard to your questions:
With all due respect, that sounds insane. If you genuinely believe in spirit guides, then they will exist and they may be worried about the reality you're going to (whether you'll be truly be happy, if you'll get hurt or traumatized, etc), but they can't stop you from shifting. Just like they can't stop you from driving a car even if they're worried about car crashes. If you believe in them, I'd recommend contacting them and clearing up any possible misunderstandings about the reality and why you're choosing to shift there! They could also be worried about your current reality and believe that you still have something here to accomplish, but again, they can't actually stop you from shifting. You still have the power to do that, even when they're worried about it. Again, contact them if you believe in them!
Dreams about shifting are great actually! Personally, I believe they're a sign you're getting closer and many people feel encouraged by them! However, I know they can be frustrating. Shifting dreams in general could be many things - some believe it's you actually shifting, or a sort of half-shift, while others believe it's just your brain dreaming about what you're thinking about. Either way, try not to feel too discouraged by them! More often than not, they're a good sign that you're getting close. Keep persisting and keep the motivation to shift and I promise you'll get there :)
So I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "automatically shift back to our CR" as there are different ways that can happen. If you mean that you shifted for a short time and then accidentally shifted back, that could be for a multitude of reasons such as disbelief that you actually shifted, getting too excited and not fully grounding yourself in that reality (ie your consciousness panics and sends you back), or it was more of a half-shift and you were still aware of your CR (similar to that last one - always make sure to ground yourself!). If you weren't talking about that though, do let me know!
But no, I'm of the belief that neither your spirit guides nor the universe would be able to force you back without your consent. If someone genuinely did believe either one had that power then it could happen, but again, that's only possible if you assume it is.
I respect readers but sometimes they can be wrong! If you know for a fact that you'll be happy in your DR, then you will be. We know more than anyone else where we would be most happiest!
