I love seeing those TikTok’s of plus sized girls speaking about how we get treated differently by men when compared to our smaller friends cuz they honestly speak nothing but facts

I think cyclone could use some attention, how about an one shot where Beau is set up on a blind date, who ends up being a pilot under his command in dagger squad. Cyclone and the reader are shocked to see each, and they decide to make most of the night (despite VERY uncomfortable beginning). They end up at together. But have to keep it on the download since the reader is a Lieutenant, and he is a vice admiral. They end up having to explain it to the rest of dagger squad.
Hi!! I loved your request and I hope you like it!! So sorry it took so long but midterms have been kicking my ass lately.

He doesn’t know what he is doing here, god knows he should’ve known better then to let Warlock put him up on a date.
He wasn’t lonely, not as much as his friend thought. But as much as he tries to convince himself of that every day, he would be lying to himself. He did miss having a person that knew him inside and out and who would be there at home when he came back from work. He even misses the intimacy, not necessarily the sex, but just the cuddles and the soft touches when passing each other.
But he hated this part, not knowing who you are going to meet and feeling utterly scared at what was about to happen. An old lady had been looking at him curiously ever since he had arrived and he tried not to think of it, focusing on trying not to sweat through his shirt, he was a vice-admiral for god sake.
“Vice-Admiral Simpsons?”, the words are filled with surprise and as he looks up, he nearly faints at the sight of the woman in front of him.
“Lieutenant Floyd?”, the girl is looking at his with equally wide eyes and he tries to keep his breathing under control.
“What are you doing here?”, he asks after a moment, clearing his throat hoping that it would somehow get it to work properly.
“Admiral Bates told me to come here and meet my, uhm, my-”, the girl seems a bit uncomfortable to say the word to him, but Beau just nods his head slowly, mentally thinking of every way he could kill Warlock for this.
“For a blind date?”, she nods shily at his words before sitting down on the chair in front of him.
He can’t help but look at her, she is a beautiful woman, he had known that since he had seen her sitting in front of him when she had just started her training. She was also incredibly smart, which seemed to be running in the family as her brother was the best WSO in the business. Warlock knew what he was doing, Beau had always had some sort of attraction towards her, unable not to pay attention to her when she was in the room.
He hears her clear her throat and he can’t help the blush that creeps on his cheeks as he realizes that he had been looking at her for a moment now.
“Sorry, Lieut-”, he doesn’t finish the sentence as he realizes that they aren’t on base and that he doesn’t need to call her that.
He looks up as he hears her laugh softly before she whispers her name, a sweet smile on her lips that makes his heart race like when he was a teenager.
“Right, well call me Beau.”, he tells her, and she looks slightly nervous as she fidgets with the menu card.
“Not your usual setting either?”, she looks up at the question and he wants to kick himself, mentally telling himself that he should think before speaking but she somehow manages to make him lose all control.
“Not really, I’m busier with the Navy then with my dating life to be honest. Which is kind of sad when I say it out loud.”, she says with a shy smile and Beau can’t help but smile at the sight of it.
“Well seems like we already have one thing in common.”, she looks up at his words, surprise etched over her eyes as she looks at him.
“Really?”, it seems like she doesn’t believe him and Beau smiles at her bashful expression after the word.
“Well, the Navy is quite busy, especially these last few years.”, he tells her, feeling tired at the simple thought of everything he had to do the past years.
“Maverick keeping you busy?”, he hears the teasing tone in her voice but still he rolls his eyes at the question making her laugh.
“That man is taking more years of my life away every day.”, the laughter that follows makes him smile even wider, unable to hide it.
“He is quite the troublemaker.”, she says and Beau nods in agreement.
“That is an understatement.”, he doesn’t have time to ask her anything else before someone comes up to pick up their order and they find themselves scrambling to get the menu card and quickly look at it. He had been too busy paying attention to her that he hadn’t even thought about what he was going to eat.
“So, tell me about your day.”, she says, as if was as simple as that and after a moment of looking at her slightly dumbfound he starts to talk.
He doesn’t know how long they talk, probably far too long but he enjoys every second of it. Her laughter when he tells her the stories of when he was at the academy and her wide eyes with interest when he is telling her the most boring things. He can’t stop listening to her, watching her talk as she tells stories of her and Bob as children.
“I’m sorry to disturb you but we are going to be closing soon.”, the waitress looks a bit nervous as she stands there, and he looks at his watch to see that it is already nearing midnight.
“Of course! So sorry.”, she quickly says, and the waitress looks relieved as they start packing their stuff.
“Here is your bill.”, she says, and Beau gets ready to pay for the bill before he sees her getting her own wallet.
“I’ll pay for it.”, he says simply, and she looks at him with a slight frown.
“You don’t have to do that, we can split the bill.”, she says quickly, her head held high, and Beau can’t help but smile at the sight of her.
“I’m sure we can but I want to pay for it.”, he says, and she looks at him, slightly doubtful before letting out a quiet sigh.
“Fine but I’m paying next time.”, the words make butterflies erupt in his stomach, realizing that she does want to see him again. A red blush appears on her cheeks as she realizes what she just said before she stutters over her words.
“I- I mean if you want to of course.”, he doesn’t even hesitate a second at her words.
“Of course, I would, I mean I don’t even want to say goodnight to you right now.”, he realizes the way the words could be understood as and he feels his cheeks burn with a blush.
“You know some people would take that as an invitation Vice-Admiral Simpson.”, there is a coy grin on her lips and he feels the urge to kiss that smile away and make her say his title again, the way it rolls of her tongue so easily makes him crave her in a way he hasn’t felt before.
“Would you want it to be Lieutenant?”, he knows that they shouldn’t, this is just their first date but god he doesn’t know how he will be able to let her go at the end of the night. The thought of being able to kiss her skin and feel her skin against his makes his blood rush south.
“I could be convinced.”, there is that teasing smile that doesn’t seem to leave her lips and a moment later he finally gets to kiss them, feel the softness of them against the cold wind on his skin.
There is that smile that doesn’t seem to leave her lips and his, but he never wants to not see her smile.
“As much as it is tempting to take you home and trust me it is. How about we go on another date first?”, he asks her softly, looking at her sparkling eyes in the moonlight.
“Sounds like a perfect plan. Text me or call me, quickly.”, she seals the last word with a kiss before leaving him there, slightly dazed. She looks back a few times before she has to turn the corner and Beau wishes that she didn’t have to leave that soon.
--
He ignores Warlock’s knowing gaze when he comes into work the next morning and particularly the day after their second date, still feeling high on the adrenaline of the night before and that morning.
“It seems like everything is going well.”, Warlock says, with his most innocent gaze, which doesn’t work, and Beau tries to ignore him.
“Not a word.”, he decides to say, trying to keep on a straight face but ultimately failing as a smile appears at the thought of her.
He sees her during the day, it’s a blessing and a curse at the same time to have her this close to him but not being able to say anything.
They had agreed to keep it under wrap as he was still her superior and she was also part of the Dagger Squad with her brother on it.
“You know, Bob is wondering where I am spending all of my time lately.”, she whispers one night, her fingers tracing lazy patterns along his skin.
“What did you tell him?”, he asks, wondering what excuse she could’ve found to explain her absence.
“Just that I was busy, but I don’t think he will be leaving me alone about it.”, she tells him, and he knows what she is trying to say.
“Do you think it’s a good idea to tell him?”, he asks her softly, wondering how the quiet WSO would react at the news of his older sister dating him.
“I think so, he told me that he admires you and he has no issues with me dating someone.”, she tells him, and Beau can’t help but feel prideful at the thought of the WSO admiring him.
“Alright, might as well do it now. But only him.”, he can’t help but laugh at the squeal she lets out before being smothered with kisses.
“Thank you! You will love Bob!”, she tells him as if he doesn’t know him, but he lets her talk about everything that they could do together.
“I’ll call him.”, she tells him a little bit later, he can hear the sleepiness in her voice and after a moment he hears her soft snores filling up the room.
--
“Now, Bobby, I want you to approach this with an open mind.”, you tell your brother, trying to calm down your nerves as he looks at you with raised eyebrows.
“I’m starting to get really scared.”, he says, and you try to shake your head, taking his hand and squeezing it in reassurance.
“Don’t you worry, you will like him.”, you simply say, looking across the Hard Deck towards the door and a moment later Beau arrives making you so excited that you accidently squeeze Bob’s hand to strongly.
“Aw! How strong are you?”, he says as he rubs his hand and you look at him with apologetic eyes, knowing that he isn’t mad.
“Alright Bobby, this is my boyfriend.”, you declare, and Bob turns around to find Beau in front of him. You don’t know what you were expecting but not your brother getting up and salute Beau.
“Sir.”, your boyfriend seems to find it funny as he tells him that it isn’t necessary and sitting down next to you. Bob scrambles back on his chair, looking between the two of you for a few minutes, you can feel Beau’s uneasiness at the staring.
“Thank god.”, Bob sighs and he seems to deflate, making you look at him with wide eyes.
“What do you mean ‘thank god’?”, you ask him, wondering who your little brother could have possibly thought you would’ve brought.
“I thought you were bringing Bagman.”
“Ieuw! Bob!”, you screech and your brother snorts at your reaction while Beau seems disgusted at the words.
“I’m sorry but you were being so secretive I thought of the worst-case scenario.”, Bob tells you, shrugging his shoulders and you can’t help but shake your head.
“So, I suppose that I’m not the worst-case scenario?”, your boyfriend asks and Bob smiles sheepishly.
“I think that you are a good man, as long as you treat her well there is no problem. But hurt her and I’ll make sure no one can find your body.”, Bob threatens, and you smile at the protectiveness of your little brother, Beau immediately agrees and before you know it the three of you are talking.
“What do we have here?”, you suddenly hear behind you and the three of you turn around to find the entire Dagger Squad looking at you with wide eyes.
“What do you want Hangman?”, you hear Bob say and the blond aviator smirks in response.
“Just wondering what the three of you are doing here on such a fine evening, without us.”, there is a pout on his lips that is as fake as the plants in the Hard Deck.
“Cry me a river Bagman.”, Bob says, and you can’t help but laugh softly at your brother’s annoyance. Hangman had been trying to annoy him since the start and recently Bob had been going against him making the blond aviator even more interested in him. Your little brother seemed obvious to it, but the cocky pilot had been trying to get in his pants since the start.
“Bagman is right for once, I’m also kind of curious.”, Phoenix says while ignoring Hangman’s winning smile and sitting next to Bob, making Hangman pout.
“Well, it’s a bit of a secret.”, you try to say and immediately the whole Dagger Squad sits down, eyes wide open like you were about to tell them all about a new plane.
“We are dating.”, you simply state as Beau puts his arm around your shoulders. There is a moment of silence before the whole group erupts in chatter except for Bob.
“Wait, what?!”
“You two are dating?”
“You didn’t tell me Bobby?”, you hear Hangman screech, and you can’t help but laugh at your brother rolling his eyes.
“Stop being dramatic, she just told me five minutes ago.”, Bob tells him, and the rest of the Dagger Squad turns to look at you.
“This has to stay under wrap, at least until you are all not under my command anymore. Is that clear?”, Beau asks and the whole squad agrees, looking at you with excited smiles.
“Scouts honor.”, Hangman says and the whole squad snorts at his words.
“Now tell us how it all started.”, Phoenix says, looking excited at the prospect of hearing how it all happened.
“And give us the juicy details.”, Halo says with a smirk before Bob clears his throat.
“Please don’t.”, he says and before you can answer Hangman puts his hand on Bob’s shoulder.
“Don’t worry Bobby I’ll be there to support you.”, this makes everyone laugh and as Bob rolls his eyes in answer.
“So, it all started with Warlock.”, you start, with Beau helping you fill in the blanks.
You couldn’t have imagined how that first date was going to be like, but you hadn’t expected anything like this to happen. And now surrounded by all of these people that you liked you can’t help but think that this was what life was supposed to be like.

✎ Twst Dinner with their family | First Years
Warnings | None, just fluff and rambling about what I envision eating a meal with their family to be like. It can be interpreted as romantic or platonic as there is slight mention of Jack and Deuce having a crush on the reader. Reader is a gender neutral Prefect/Yuu and is addressed as that. Thanks!
Tumblr media
Deuce, Ace, Jack
✎ They’re very much a traditional family. Despite having busy lives, they all make the time to individually warm up their own food and sit together in the living room to yell at the TV and each other for the next hour and a half. The youngest and oldest sibling alternate over who picks what they watch, the baby usually chooses a cartoon’s new episode. If he’s the oldest, like Jack, he’ll pick something you like in a bid to impress you. He may even settle for the news and politics to seem more mature and engaged, sweating bullets, staring at you the whole time. If he’s the baby, like Ace, he’s putting on something so obscenely puerile that you can’t help but laugh. The rest of the family would scoff at either of their choices, but they remind you, “You can’t please everyone.”
✎ It’s the coziest you’ve ever been, especially with people coming in and out the room, ruffling your hair as they walk by. The movie is for background noise, they all talk over it. The oldest ones always have something interesting to add. From the moment they meet you, you are a part of their family, which also means that they will shush you during the climax of movies in the middle of a conversation.
✎ They all offer you something from their plates, taking their utensils and just bringing it to your mouth. If he doesn’t have siblings, then expect other members of his family to be there. You become well acquainted with his uncles, cousins, and his grandparents, who all have something to say about you. He would likely be embarrassed at first, trying to explain every little nuance of their home life to you. But when you show that you not only understand it, but accept it wholeheartedly, they turn bright red. How did they ever get so lucky? Finding a partner who fits right into their dynastic family. Regardless, he’ll still brief you on the drama inside. Deuce will stop you at the door, grabbing both of your hands.
“Granny is crazy, but she doesn’t know that, and her doctor says its bad for her if we play along- but Auntie- that’s her baby sister, by the by, says it’s really fine. You gotta pretend like you get Granny in front of Auntie, but if she’s not in the room, drop it.” It’s genuinely a lot to keep up with. Soon, however, they’ll probably have stipulations about you too. Like, “Don’t embarrass Ace in front of his little friend with card tricks, Big Trappola.” Or mama Howl scolding Jack’s father, “Big Jack, don’t talk about mating for life when Yuu is here, what is wrong with you? Jacky is shy.”
✎ They love you so dearly that they don’t have to fake the pleasantries, there’s no part of them willing to put on a fake show, you’d see through the farce either way.
Epel, Sebek + Silver
✎ These boys come from more structured families, so dinner is a classier affair. Expect them to change clothes for dinner, all seated together, discussing a predetermined agenda of acceptable dinner conversation. The monotony may get to you at times, but it’s imperative you mind your manners. Dinners are a big affair, it’s a primal, bonding ritual to end the day and should be regarded as such. They come from big families too so you will be surrounded at dinner, hammered with questions about you, NRC, being magicless, etc.
✎ While dinner starts as an entirely too sterile environment, further in the night, they’ll sully it. Hands will reach everywhere, plates will pile up, if you’re not hip to their ways, you’ll quickly become what they’re feasting on. They’ll encourage you to eat and drink with them after the initial meal. Less restricted conversation is had after dinner, especially when the children are sent off to bed. He would call it the magic hour, where anything goes.
✎ Expect dinner to always be made for you. With the Felmiers, Granny will always have something for you to eat, and even more for you to take home. She complains about cooking so much, and even more so when Epel’s little friends just wanna drop in without sayin a word, but she loves it. She doesn’t bother trying to hide her smile at her tiny grandson’s polite friend. She also has no qualms about giving you a quick pop when you display bad manners, much to the bewilderment of Epel. It’s harsh, but effective. You never reach over her plate again to grab the potatoes, you respond now with yes ma’am, none of that What do you want? nonsense they taught you back in your home country.
✎ Sebek, as a peripheral member of the royal family, eats with them. When you visit, you eat with them too, sitting with the royal personnel, which includes the fae families of Zigvolts, the Vanrouges, and many others around a long dining table.
✎ The conversation is fortunately heavily restricted for the sanity of everyone around the table. It’s only appropriate light dinner discussion; what have you learned today? I recently ran into a friend from before. Did you finish that important task? Alternatively, inappropriate topics, including politics that the matriarch disagrees with, antagonizing anyone seated at the table, or deeply intimate feelings you may have for someone, like the young lord or a prefect dorm leader, are banned. It’s for everyone’s sake that conversation is limited in this regard.
✎ Like the Felmiers, the Zigvolts are generating electricity at the sight of baby Sebe chan’s friend. He’s the baby of the family, and the least socially adjusted, they didn’t expect nights like these from Sebek. They want to know everything about you, but they already know really from the detailed letters Sebek sends them weekly. While Lilia knew you, he wasn’t aware that you two were this friendly. If the teasing is too much, Silver, despite being mostly unaware, would rein them in, reminding them of appropriate dinner conversation.
Grim + Yuu (Dinner on campus)
✎ When they visit you for dinner, usually after sneaking out of their dorm, they each bring something from their personal lives with them. If they’re used to eating around a big table, sharing dishes, and being polite society, they’ll try to establish that. If not, they may just jump on Ramshackle’s dingy sofa with their take-out or leftovers. If dinner is time set aside strictly for eating, they’ll hang around after dinner to talk with you, making tea or coffee, looking for any way to keep the night from ending. You force the remaining NRC Tribe to show you their song and dance, Ace happily does it. He’s always willing to put on a show for his prefect. He belts out absolutely beautiful at the top of his lungs whenever he gets a chance, still in disbelief that he wasn’t chosen for main vocals.
✎ If he’s mischievous, like Ace or Epel, he would encourage take out, sneaking you away on his broom to the Mahou Taco Bell. If caught, he would reluctantly hand over his food as a bribe to the night monitors. Having hid yours in his coat, he’ll watch you eat like a stray- cold, hungry, and pathetic. It’s his subtle way of thanking you for the night he had. It’s a small price to pay for allowing him to bend the rules, and Prefect is so generous anyway, they’ll always share- right? A more traditional student, like Sebek, would bring a container of food, some of it edible from the cafeteria, some of it Lilia goaded him into bringing. He would never force you to eat anything Lilia made, but they dare you to, faces blanched when you actually try it. Sebek would worry if you’re eating enough since you don’t eat as much as he does, not reassured until you take another bite.
✎ If he’s sweet, but too shy to admit having a crush on you, like Jack or Deuce, he would explain how it’s customary and normal for people to share food at dinner. He’ll bring you a dish to try, usually a dessert he found he liked, or a snack an upperclassman gave him. You grow accustomed to eating half of something hastily wrapped up from earlier in the day. Jack’s tail wags when you accept his offering. If you like it, and thank him personally, expect to always see their lounge dorm stocked with it as his not-so-subtle way of enticing you to visit more. They’re teased by their upperclassmen, like Ruggie or Trey, but they always make sure to grab the snacks for them.
✎ The first years all have an easier time sneaking away from their dorms at night, the staff and wanderers around campus are not looking for them. They’ll always respond if you invite them over, but especially for dinner, Jack’s perhaps a little too enthused. They prefer to sit in the lounge rather than the dining room, it’s a closer space where they can all see each other. You and Grim get the sofa of course, but before opening the door to invite them in, you hear faint arguments over who has to sit on the floor away from prefect.

First date headcanons for Huntress, Frank, Susie, Ghostface and Michael
First Date Headcanons
Huntress:
You have to ask her out rather than the other way around, she’ll drop hints and bring you presents (cute things she found from her victims), and she’ll hang around you a lot but you have to make the first move.
She is really shy and embarrassed, she snorts when she laughs. You both go to the cinema and when you hold her hand she lets out a little squeak and her cheeks burn red.
She isn’t too picky about the movie, so long as no children get hurt she’s happy. If you let her pick though she’d suggest something along the lines of Kung Fu Panda 4. She’d also have a backpack full of sweets and treats for you to share to avoid paying too much for the cinema. She remembers what your favourite snacks are from when you told her the first time you met and got them especially.
She’d prefer not to go to a restaurant afterwards, so you suggest a takeout to sit and eat in the park by the lake. It’s dusk when you get there and it’s a really romantic atmosphere.
You have to initiate the kiss good night, she might shyly reach out to hold hands through out the evening but as much as she desperately wishes to feel her lips against yours, she won’t act on it. When you do her heart swells, her face burns red, and she is so delighted she enthusiastically kisses you again, and again, and again.
Frank:
Your date isn’t something either of you call a date, you meet up outside the 7/11 you know won’t card you and get some beers and some cigarettes. Maybe you pick up snacks, but if you do they’re deep in your pockets before the shop clerk even sees you. The plan is to go to the woods just outside of town, the place where the old folks say the devil worshippers hang out.
Maybe you both don’t realise it is a date, not until your smoking cigarettes, drinking, and eating snacks out on fallen down tree in the woods. You’re both getting giggly, telling jokes and scary stories, they get more and more gruesome as they go along. The scariest ghost stories, the most disgusting creepypastas and r/nosleep stories.
You don’t kiss at the end of the night, instead you kiss whilst you’re both laughing at each other’s jokes and each other’s elaborate revenge fantasies. It isn’t thought out, it’s instinctive, you hold hands, cuddle, and kiss, and theres a heat that it may go further but it doesn’t. It doesn’t need to.
You spend the night wandering through the forest and come across an abandoned building, Frank jumps out behind a wall to scare you, you scream and you both end up laughing so hard you double over. You read the graffiti saying obscene things alongside pentacles and satanic art work. You and Frank add your own additions, alongside the juvenile drawing of a penis Frank writes something almost poetic. You draw a tag that represents both you and Frank.
Frank takes you back home on the back of his bike, you’re shivering at the end of the night and he gives you his hoodie. You have one last kiss and he cheekily sneaks a bite in your neck, a love bite showing he was there.
Susie:
Susie asks you to dinner with an invitation she drew herself, a romantic comic strip that’s self aware and a little tongue in cheek to make it seem like it’s no big deal if you turn her down, not really. When you say ‘yes’ Susie blue screens for a moment, she was not anticipating this answer and it takes her a second to realise you said “yes”.
She makes a picnic for you both, a couple of bottles of fizzy pop, bags of crisps, homemade cupcakes, and sandwiches. She infodumps about her favourite comics, and asks if she’s being annoying again and again. Afterwards you wander wrong the only comic shop in town, she shows you the comics she was talking about.
You surprise her by buying her a small teddy from the video game you bonded with her over at the arcade before you went on your date. She’s delighted and her grin is wider than she normally would let it get to out of being self conscious about her braces and crooked jaw. When you back in the car she sits on the dashboard.
She drives you home but you don’t actually get there for for hours, you both sing a long to your favourite songs on the radio, she takes a detour because she wants to show you her favourite spot. She takes you to the top of a hill just outside of town, you both sit on her hood for a little while, she normally just has her comics up here by herself. She’s never shared it with anyone before.
She actually drives you home, and when she’s parked outside your house you both talk for so long and you say “okay I’ll leave after this song” which seems to go on for an hour at least. Eventually you kiss her, her lipgloss tastes like bubblegum and she’s taken so by surprise she doesn’t close her eyes. She asks if she can do it again because she wants to make it perfect, you giggle and say it was, but you kiss her again. And again. And again.
Ghostface:
For the readers who aren’t 9ttp: Calling him Jed not Danny because Danny is my brother’s name and it’s weird to me
You and Jed meet when you interview him for your true crime podcast for your special on the Ghostface killer. You have plenty of banter on air, leaving the idea of him coming back for a future episode on the cards. After the show is over he asks you out for dinner and a movie that weekend, you’re so taken aback by this that you say yes without thinking. You’re smiling the entire way home, he posts the selfie of you and him on his Instagram saying how much fun he had on the podcast. You heart it and share it to your story with the biggest smile on your face.
You decide to go on Halloween because that’s when the best movies are showing. You’re at a coffee shop in the same mall as the cinema, you both order an iced coffee, he gets whipped cream and chocolate sauce. You are both so excited for the cinemas reshowing of Friday the 13th, you are both talking about your favourite horror movies and playfully argue about your tastes.
When you get to the cinema Jed orders you both a large popcorn to share as well as two tango ice blasts, when you sit down he sneaks out several big bags of sweets from his backpack. He takes a selfie of you both before the movie starts. He raves about how cute you look. He’s wearing a Camp Crystal Lake t-shirt and you one for your favourite band. You’re both excitedly whispering to each other fun facts and your favourite things about the film throughout, your shushed several times and the shot of anger in Jed’s green eyes causes a shot of excitement in your chest.
Afterwards you go to a local fast food place, it’s not fancy but you don’t care, you’re both having a great time that your talking constantly and quickly, eating up everything you both love about cinema. You talk about horror media in general, tell him how he’ll have to come with you for the movie you’re reviewing for the podcast. He asks if that’s your second date with a sly grin, he pays for your food.
Jed walks you home and tells you amazing stories, your not sure if their true but a journalist has to have an exciting life, right? You hold hands without thinking, and when you get to your door he kisses you instantly and deeply. You melt into his arms, and when you part you can’t repress your smiles as you press your foreheads together.
Michael Myers:
You both know each other from the same local bookshop you hang around at. When you were looking for something new to read and talking aloud with a friend he politely taps you on the shoulder and places Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix into your hands. You get it out of curiosity, and love it of course. You thank him next time you go in, he doesn’t say anything but you can tell from his smile and intense gaze that he’s listening. You ask if he wants to get a coffee and he nods with more enthusiasm than you could expect.
He orders his coffee using his phone, texting out his order of a hot chocolate and offers to buy your ice coffee too. You ask if he’d rather talk over text and he visibly relaxes. When you text you realise how articulate and thoughtful he is, you talk for a long time about books. You both enjoy horror, he seems to have an intense, deep knowledge of the genre as a whole - both historical and modern and across every subgenre you can think of. He isn’t patronising, he doesn’t make you feel stupid, you talk until the shop closes and reluctantly leave after being pushed to by the barista.
He gives you his jacket when you leave and it’s cold, a couple of horrible young men shout homophobic abuse at you which makes you retreat feeling humiliated and sad. Michael squeezes your hand, and manages to distract you by stopping to point out the constellations in the sky.
You invite him in but he quickly tells you over his phone that he’d love to but he has an early appointment tomorrow. You arrange a second date and have a simple kiss. He’s shy, his arms warm and inviting but timid. He’s taller than you and his chin rests on the top of his head.
The next morning you’re checking out the news on your phone, you see a picture of the two men who harassed you yesterday. They both turned up dead in a fountain in the park, found by a dog walker at dawn. In your chest you know exactly what happened, and you surprise yourself by how romantic you find it.

💫 JET STAR 🌟
(thank you marz i was hoping to get to do her!!)
Sexuality Headcanon: bi-adjacent but i think she doesn’t really label herself that way. they would probably describe themself as attracted to almost anyone but i DO think they have a preference for trans people :) T4T jet forever mwah mwah 💕
Gender Headcanon: i have recently seen the light & so i would have had a different answer for you like a week and a half ago but now i absolutely believe jet is nonbinary transfemme (specifically i think she identifies as a demigirl), she/they pronouns :3!
A ship I have with said character: STARPONY!!! T4T femme4femme enby love forever. also they’re just like. THEE zones power couple. everyone in the desert has been in love with one or both of them at some point or another and the first time they go out together holding hands in public the gossip mill FREAKS the fuck out. i also think that starparty is quite cute :) and a ship i feel i don’t see often enough (present company excluded) is starpartyghoul they’re SUCH a good match for each other and i love all of them so much oml
A BROTP I have with said character: PARTY AND JET are besties like BEST BEST friends forever, jet is really the first person their own age in the desert to be nice to party and honestly i think the way they became friends at all was party (immovable object aka autistic + covering that up with being Mean, doesn’t know how to make friends AT ALL) meets jet (unstoppable force aka desertborn, knows everyone and is just REALLY friendly and outgoing and likes everyone, including this weird kid they just met who is super super shy but likes their violin and will just kind of skulk around near them not saying anything) and i like to describe it as this:
Tumblr media
anyways. they are BEST friends jet knows they can tell party anything and they will do their absolute best to help and party steals jet’s clothes all the time because jet is partial to really soft knitted sweaters and when they’re sad or just needing comfort it’s nice to wear something that reminds them of their best friend. also jet smells like vanilla because of her body lotion so. bonus! on the other hand i also really enjoy jet and ghoul friendship i think party is really the only one in the diner not handy with tools and jet is tall so she helps ghoul fix stuff all the time especially if ghoul needs help reaching it. and jet also warmed up to ghoul REALLY fast when he first joined the crew they like to play board games together. ghoul is i think the only one in the diner who successfully has come to understand the rules of chess after jet taught him how to play so they play that a lot :) & when ghoul told her he wanted to get a tattoo for everyone she picked out a set of playing cards with the ace of spades face up so he has that now for her 🥰
A NOTP I have with said character: ummm hard to say. i honestly think jet works with anyone so like…pretty much only people too old for them like dr. d and tcm. starpony is my fave starparty is cute funstar is cute even jetkobra is cute most of the time when people aren’t being weird and rpf-y about it and/or just doing it so they can pair off the “extraneous” two when they’re shipping funpoison & i’ve read cherri x jet before and thought it was sweet so yeah.
A random headcanon: jet has these twin shooting stars tattooed on her ribcage right under the curve of her pecs!! i think she gets them before starting to take E but they really do um. frame the girls nicely. i used to hc jet as transmasc and originally those tattoos were like. i thought it would be cool if they were kind of transforming top surgery scars with tattoo trickery but i genuinely genuinely think jet would have these tattoos being transfemme too. over time she gets stuff added to them so she eventually has this whole chest/sternum/stomach piece made up of patchwork tattooing all building off of these shooting star tattoos she got done when she was sixteen. wild
General Opinion over said character: I LOVE HER I LOVE HER I LOVE HER i truly believe she’s the glue that keeps the fab four together and motivated and theyre just FUNNY and smart and brave i love you jet star
send me a character for this ask game!!

HEART'S BLOOD - CHAPTER 22
Tumblr media
*Warning: Adult Content*
In the end, the phone-store clerk managed to talk Julian Hart out a good portion of his savings before he leaves and he’s glad Detective Dane Hunter had not come along.
The sales spiel was confusing enough without him breathing down his neck.
Retreating to the safety of his car, Julian turns on his shiny new devise and finds a message from Grace, asking him to visit the library when he had a chance.
He had nothing else planned, so he heads across town.
The library is busier this time and Julian has to wait several minutes while Grace helps some high school kids with research material.
When they leave, she waves him over and pushes a stack of papers towards him.
Julian’s best friend jumps in eagerly and without preamble.
“Okay. So this is what I found. Skin-walkers are typically male witches and they use their witchcraft to gain power and wealth. They use body parts in their spells and potions, especially to make poisons. They are said to be able to make this one kind of poison that so powerful, a single touch with something with the poison on it, will paralyze you.”
Grace shows Julian a photocopy of a page from the book with a detail description of this belief.
“For some reasons, they really like twins,” she goes on.
“Something about them being ‘interesting’ and having some sort of special properties, at least in certain lineages. In some of the more darker versions of the legends, it’s said that one becomes a witch by completing a certain ritual, usual involving the murder of a family member, typically a sibling. Also, if you injure a skin-walker while they are in animal form, the injury will show up in the same spot on them when they are a person.”
“Anything about people with special abilities?” Julian says, flipping through a stack of print-outs and photocopies.
“Just that bit about the twins. I guess that doesn’t help much though, does it?” Grace says, frowning.
“Actually...” Julian hesitates.
He wants to tell her about meeting the twin of the first victim but he has a strict policy about on client confidentiality and while he’d really like to hash things out with his best friend, he doesn’t want to break his own rules so easily.
“It actually really helpful. Thank you, Grace.”
“Anytime baby-doll,  Hey, lets get lunch soon. There is a new bar-b-que place I want to try. We could do a double date. You and your man and me and my girl.”
“Wait. You have a new girlfriend? Since when?” Julian asks, as he leans over the counter and Grace leans towards him, grinning.
“Since last week,” she informs him, wrinkling her nose and squinting.
She has the sort of face that makes any expression look cute.
If Julian did that, people would wonder what’s wrong with him.
“How long have you been going out?” Julian queries, knowing Grace expects the full drill.
“Not long. A month or so.”
“What’s her name?”
“Chloe.”
“Okay. So what’s Chloe like?”
Her eyes light up with a sparkle that makes Julian so happy for her.
“She pretty, fun, a little shy... but once you get to know her, she’s a real wild card. I never know what crazy thing she’ll want to do next. Here I’ll show you.”
Grace reaches behind the desk and pulls out her phone, scrolling through her pictures and then turning it towards her best friend.
Julian feels his smile slip.
Grace is right... Chloe is very pretty.
She also looks very familiar, though the young psychic doesn’t know her.
She has pale skin, fiery-red hair and vivid blue eyes.
Ian Foley doesn’t have a sister, so Julian guesses, Chloe must be a cousin.
The young psychic only hopes she doesn’t see Chloe Foley’s name on the list of shifters that Ian had promised to put together for Dane.
“What?” Grace asks, her own expression dimming, as she registers Julian’s failure to make googly eyes over her conquest.
“Nothing,” he stammers, recovering.
“She just looks like someone I use to know. In college.”
It’s not a total lie.
There was a red-haired girl from his dorm, freshman year, that made his life a living hell, with her one-woman crusade to save his soul.
But Grace gives Julian a look that says she’s not buying his bull-shit.
“No. Really, Grace. She’s beautiful,” Julian says, giving his beat friend a genuine smile.
He can see how happy Grace is and he can only hope that Chloe Foley is everything she deserves.
“You bet she is,” Grace says, taking back her phone. She leans closer to Julian and whispers in his ear.
“And she’s got the sweetest little...”
“Oh. Okay. I’m... ah... gonna go now...” Julian says, pushing himself away from the counter, before his ears are polluted by whatever she was going to describe.
“Thanks again for the research. We’ll do lunch sometime soon, Okay? I promise.”
Grace laughs as Julian retreats.
One of her favourite games is to make her best friend blush and the young man has long since learned that his only defence is to run away.
Outside, Julian takes a deep breath and looks down at his brand-new phone in his hand. He has been putting this off all morning.
He might as well get it over with. Mrs Hart, Julian’s mother, answers on the second ring.
“Julian, What’s wrong?” she asks, sounding stressed and out of breath.
‘Great start.’
She has only said three words and Julian is already rolling his eyes.
“Nothing’s wrong, Mum. Can’t I just call to say hi?”
“You can,” she says, impatiently.
“But you never do. It’s not my birthday or a holiday and you only call for these two reasons. Otherwise, you want something or something horrible has happened. So which is it?”
It’s both actually but he is not going to tell her that.
He can’t imagine she’d react well to the news, that he’s being hunted by a serial-killer or that one of his friends is dead and the other missing and ‘probably’ dead.
Or for that matter that he’s sleeping with a werewolf.
She’s barely come to the terms with the fact that he is gay.
Suppressing a sigh, Julian decides to at least make an attempt at pleasantries before dragging up old wounds from the past.
“Everything's fine, Mom. Hows L.A.?” Julian asks.
She tells him.
It’s sounds awful to Julian but she seems to like it as much as she always has.
He walks back and forward across the park in front of the library, as she talks about her yoga classes, her diet and her latest ‘acting gig’.
It’s an advertisement for a walk-in bath tub for seniors but she makes it sound like it’s a glamourous soft porn and Julian is glad he hasn’t had lunch yet.
When she has finally run out of stream, she turns the question back to Julian.
“And how is dear old Spring Lakes? Seen any bears recently?”
She likes to gloat Julian about living ‘in the sticks’ as she calls it.’
“Yep and I saw a wolf too,” he tells his mother.
“Oh. Really? I read about that somewhere They say wolves are coming down from Yellowstone National Park and now...”
Julian cut her off before she started to give him an inaccurate description and highly embellished summary of some article she had read somewhere.
“Actually, Mum. I called because I wanted to talk about Dad.”
There is silence on the other end of the line and Julian waits.
It’s anyone’s guess how she will react.
“What about him?”
Her voice sounds different to Julian, smaller and quieter than before and unfamiliar feeling constricts his heart.
He is not used to feeling sorry for his mother.
Mrs Hart is a strong and independent woman and the last thing she needs is anybody’s pity.
At the same time, Julian never really thought about what she had lost when her husband had left.
By all accounts, they had been madly in love until Julian’s father had gone, well mad.
“I want to know what happen when... when her started to get sick. And after that, too.I want to know what happened... and how he died. And anything you remember about George Foley from back the, too.”
Julian holds his breath and waits.
“Why, Julian? Why now?” she says, sounding tired and a little sad. But at least, she didn’t get angry.
“It’s important to me, Mum. That’s all I can say.”
After another long pause, she sighs
“This isn’t something I’m prepared to talk about over the phone, Julian. Not when I have Pilates on the beach in five minutes. Can I call you back later tonight? Maybe after I’ve had a glass of wine, or six.”
“Yeah. That’s fine,” Julian tells her.
“I’m sorry to spring this on you. I just... I just need to know. Okay?”
“You’re doing okay, Julian? Aren’t you?” she asks and Julian hears something like motherly concern in her voice.
“I mean... you’re not having any... trouble, are you?”
Is he mentally stable? Is what she is asking him. Who is, these days?
“I’m fine, Mom. Really. I’m just...” Julian is struck by an idea.
“I’m seeing a new doctor and she wants to know more about my family history. That’s all.”
“Of course. That makes sense,”she says, obviously relieved.
“Tell you what, I’ll call you tonight after eight. Okay, Sugar-plum?”
Julian grits his teeth at her nickname for him.
“Sure, Mom. Talk to you later.”
Julian ends the call with his mother with a mix of relief and dread.
On one hand he had asked and she had agreed.
On the other hand he is going to have to talk to his mother again, twice in one day.
Julian stops at the sandwich shop for lunch and texts Dane asking him to call.
Taking his turkey sandwich and swiss cheese panini out to the sidewalk patio, he had barely sat down when his cell-phone rings.
He wipes the cheese grease from his face before answering his brand new phone.
“Julian. What’s wrong?” Dane asks.
“Jeez. Why is that the first thing anyone asks me when ever I call.”
“Maybe, because you are a trouble magnet. So what’s wrong?”
Julian shakes his head but smiles.
“I might have another angle for you. I had a new client yesterday and she turned out to be the sister of the first murder victim. The twin sister. My librarian friend, Claire, dug up some information that suggests skin-walkers, maybe shifters in general, value twins for some reason. You might want to check if the other victim had a twin. I don’t think Bertha did, she never mentioned one anyway. Any gifted folk that come as a matching set might be given an extra warning, just to be safe.”
Identical, or fraternal as well? Dane asked, using his ‘cop doing an interview’ voice, so Julian knows he’s taking him serious.
“I don’t know. It just said twins.”
“Thanks, Julian. I’ll look into it. Hey...” Dane adds, his tone shifting into a warmer hue.
“I’m almost caught up here. I can get off early if you want.”
Before he can stop himself Julian says...
“I’d rather that we got off together but whatever works for you.”
There is silence and for a moment Julian thinks he’s overstepped. But Dane answers...
“I’ll see you in an hour and then you are going to pay. On second thought make that an hour and five. If I leave the office like this my colleagues will never let me live it down.”
Julian chuckles.
“Why? Is something up?”
“Julian...”
“Okay. Okay. I’ll see you later.”
Ending the phone call to Dane, Julian takes the rest of his sandwich to do and drives home.
Two hours later and he is pissed.
He got home took a shower and brushed his teeth.
He planned dinner and put a bottle of wine in the fridge to chill and overall he was a hundred percent ready for action.
He can’t blame Dane, really. He has a very important job.
Peoples lives are at stake.
People’s lives have been lost and he’s working to bring the person responsible to justice.
He can hardly hold it against him, if he puts his work before a guy, he hardly knows.
Maybe the tip he had given him had payed off.
Maybe he has been helpful to him.
Julian refrains from texting Dane, except for once, to ask the handsome detective he is longing for, if he is alright.
Dane answers with a immediate ‘Yes, held up with something’ and Julian lets it rest with that.
By the time night falls, Julian is no longer in the mood for ‘fun’.
An uncomfortable conversation with his mother looms imminently and despite his rationalizations, Dane’s failure to appear has left Julian lonely and doubtful.
They’ve only know each other for a short time.
Dane said he loved him but how may hapless fools have fallen foul of those words since time began.
Finally at a quarter to seven, a knock at the door rouses Julian from his dour thoughts.
It isn’t locked and Julian expects Dane to just let himself in, so he goes to open it with some trepidation.
It’s not Dane.
Instead, a woman stands on his doorstep.
She’s tall and blond and gorgeously beautiful.
Her red lips curve in a sadistic smile as her eyes skim over Julian from head to toe and then back up again..
“So. You are what has Dane so distracted. I’m disappointed. I expected something more...” she says, shrugging a slim white shoulder.
“Just something... more, I suppose.”
“Huh? And who are you?” Julian asks, trying to seem unimpressed but coming off more confused and her smile disappears.
“My name is Selene Mortaine. And I am Dane Hunter’s one and only true mate.”

I really enjoyed talking about OCs too I haven’t been this involved in a fandom in so long. He’d be so excited to go to the potential wedding but then immediately dread it after seeing he has to dress formally. He hates formal dress the shoes hurt his feet and he doesn’t like dressing up in general because that’s for noble folk he likes his clothes the way they are, looks like they were bought from a thrift store, but if thats what his friend wants he’ll do it. He’d probably go alone if it was a bring a plus 1 situation or maybe he’d bring his tiefling mom but probably not just in case it was a funeral(probably not if it was a wedding too in case his mom decided to tell embarrassing stories). If Sol did join Tav Sean and told him she wouldn’t be strong or useful he’d probably laugh saying, “I didn’t become friends with you because you were strong and useful, my opinions of you have not changed. You’ll have try a little harder than that for me to think less of you.”
Kdjwifjwjkz, I'm imagining Sean stressing about the funeral wedding part, holding up two suits, one black and the other white.
He dreads wearing both, but his moms told him to dress him for his friend, and he is wondering if he should bring a condolences gift or a congratulations card.
Sol is sitting back home thinking, "man I am such a good friend for summarising my funeral and wedding in one card, it was so smart of me and I'm sure it will never cause any misconceptions and people will definitely guess the correct one"
I like to think the only person who managed to correctly guess which, are Gale and Minthara. Both refuse to tell the other companions tho.
Gale because he doesn't like Sol and would rather this day stay as chaotic as them. Minthara, because she enjoys watching the companions suffer in confusion.
Sol didn't mention a plus 1, but honestly, if someone brought their family, Sol wouldn't complain. They understand their importance for the rest of their friends, and it doesn't hurt as much now.
Sean could bring his whole adopted family and Sol would be like, "cool but your shoes don't match your jacket so I'm gonna ask you to go change and come back, your family may stay tho."
Then go to his moms for embarrassing stories, for once in their life actually using their 20+ charisma.
Although secretly, they'd be really touched that their companions decided to come. They'll take time to introduce their spouse to them one on one during the wedding, only mentioning praise of their companions in front of their spouse.
Their spouce is clearly an ordinary person, not an adventure, and isn't used to meeting ones either. They're shy and staying by Sol's side the whole time. Sol wouldn't tolerant any teasing being thrown at their spouse, it is almost funny how the two of them managed to become a thing when Sol has a past of bullying people without a spine and criticising them.
If it's a funeral, they wouldn't be here for it or to meet them. But I believe they've written a personalised letter for each of the companions to be handed out to them by their funeral director. Also, they definitely wrote in their will for only cookies with raisins instead of chocolate chips to be served.
It's more of a last goodbye, like "I'm dead and i can't get embarrassed anymore by emotions so here is everything I've ever wanted to tell you but couldn't."
-
Tav Sean's words during their good ending would make them feel better, reassurance coming from a friend.
This time, there is no snarky remark, no mean comeback, no avoidant silence. Sol would thank him, truthfully thank him, and not play it off or mask their gratitude.
Especially since he is giving them a chance despite knowing their morality, knowing they're not here for the cause but for him. Yet they're still willing to try and he is willing to extend a hand.

You always knew Jeon Jungkook was destined for great things.
It was written in the stars, your mother had told you after he had first stepped foot into your family-owned grocery store. Your mother didn’t have any special powers, she just had a thing for astrology. While you normally shrugged off her random proclamations about divine intervention and planetary alignments, you found that Jungkook was something you couldn’t ignore or chalk up as your mother’s latest tea leaf reading.
From the moment you set eyes on him you knew he was different. While your family held zero claim to any sort of mystical or magical inclinations, you were well aware of those who did. It was no secret that non-humans roamed the Earth in plain sight, even though it had taken humans eons to realize this. After years of savage wars and civil unrest, agreements had come into place and governing bodies were adjusted to accept the changes that had finally been made. But, this was all before your time. You were the generation that was born into the period of peace, the first children to not experience bloodshed before they could walk. The world you knew now was almost a complete one-eighty of what it had been.
Where before those who were not of human blood had to do everything they could to blend in, now could be free of the shadows. Your classrooms had both humans and non-humans in their rosters. Some of your teachers were hybrids. Curriculum expanded to teach humans about a world that had once been entirely unknown to them. One of your favorite teachers was a witch who regaled your tenth grade class with stories of goblin wars, wizard duels, and vampire covens. All tales that you had once thought were nothing but fiction were now anything but.
Which is why, the second Jeon Jungkook entered the grocery store that your parents owned and that you had worked at since you were old enough to speak in full sentences, you knew who he was. You didn’t even question it.
He was a werewolf. A powerful one. You could see it in the way he carried himself. The purposeful strides he took down the narrow aisles, the confidence in his broad shoulders. Humans weren’t nearly as sensitive as their hybrid counterparts but you also paid attention in your classes. Or, perhaps you were more aware than other humans. Never in your life did you have the issues other faced when meeting a non-human for the first time. You always knew who they were without them having to tell you. You just knew.
So, when Jeon Jungkook stepped up to your register with a bottle of water and some raw beef, you didn’t flinch. Didn’t bend under his dark gaze or shuffle your feet in an awkward attempt to break the silence. Instead, you flashed him your customer service smile and rang up his items. He didn’t say a word as he paid, barely sparing you a second glance as he strode out of the store.
“He’s going to be a great and powerful man,” your mother said in that feathery light voice of hers. “It was written in the stars.”
You couldn’t help but agree.
Tumblr media
Jeon Jungkook came into your store everyday for the next month. He bought the same thing every time. A bottle of water and a package of raw beef. The only time he spared you any words was to say thank you or the occasional hello if the sun was shining. Usually, he was alone. Sometimes, he came with a few members of his pack. You liked those days. He smiled a little brighter and talked a little louder when they were around. Especially around Taehyung.
Then, after a month, he didn’t come in. Not for an entire week. From Monday to Sunday, you hadn’t seen a hide nor hair of him. A part of you was worried, so worried that you almost stopped Taehyung in the middle of the street to ask of Jungkook’s whereabouts before realizing how insane that made you look, the other part was chastising yourself for caring. Jeon Jungkook was a customer. Nothing more, nothing less.
The following Monday had come and you had finally stopped glancing at the sliding doors every five minutes. You no longer expected his commanding presence to rock your little world. Instead, you continued your day as if it had been any other. That was, until, Jeon Jungkook stepped through the entrance looking as if he was walking on air. It didn’t take a genius to figure out why.
“Did you have a good heat?” You asked when he stepped up to your register. Jungkook fumbled the water bottle he had been setting onto the conveyer belt before turning to stare at you.
“What did you just say?”
You didn’t shrink under his intense glare. “I was asking if you enjoyed your heat. Seems like you did.”
“How do you know I was in my rut?”
“Oh, is rut the correct terminology? Sorry, they always interchanged them in class, I was never sure what was appropriate.” You shrugged and rang up his items. “It was kind of obvious, though. You seemed pretty agitated about a week-and-a-half ago, then you disappear for a week, and now you’re back looking happier than ever. If it wasn’t your rut then I want to know where you went on vacation because that’s where I’m heading to next.”
Jungkook laughed. That almost made you jump out of your skin. You had never heard him laugh before. It was throaty, it was deep, and it was wonderful. “I’ll be sure to send you the link to the Airbnb.”
“And how do you plan on doing that?”
He smirked. “I’m here every day, aren’t I?”
You tilted your head as you accepted the cash he handed to you. “Clearly, you’re not that reliable.”
Jungkook laughed again. It was becoming your new favorite sound. “My apologies. I didn’t mean to appear flaky.”
“You’re forgiven,” you decided as you handed him the plastic bag of his purchases. Teasingly, you added, “just make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
He flashed you a smile that showed off his sharpened canines. “Don’t worry, darling. I never make the same mistake twice.”
Tumblr media
Jeon Jungkook kept his promise. He showed up everyday, like clockwork. Bought the same thing. Arrived at the same time. The only thing that changed was how he treated you. It wasn’t that he treated you badly before, he had always been polite. But now, he talked to you. He asked you questions and answered yours. More often than not, he laughed.
(It had become your favorite sound.)
For three months, this continued. The two of you had settled into a comfortable routine, something you relied on and expected. Until, he changed that.
Until, Jeon Jungkook asked you out on a date.
“What did you just say?”
“Are you free? Tonight?” You glanced around, almost expecting to see some sort of supermodel posing behind you to explain the absolute absurdity of the situation. “What are you doing?”
“Looking for the hidden cameras. I think I’m getting Punk’d.”
Jungkook sighed and placed both hands on the counter that separated the two of you. “Look at me.” You did. Slowly and warily, but you did. “Does it look like I’m lying to you?”
Narrowing your eyes, you regarded him carefully. He seemed serious. But, then again, do you ever really know someone? “I don’t know. I’ve never actually seen you lie before so I wouldn’t know the difference.”
“Fine. Ask me what color my shirt is.”
“What color is your shirt?”
“White,” he deadpanned. You glanced down at his chest. His shirt was black.
“Jungkook!”
He threw his head back and released a full bellied laugh. Even in your exasperation you couldn’t help but soften a little. “I’m sorry, darling. I couldn’t help myself.” Annoyed, you huffed and spun to face the cash register. Stabbing your finger onto the touchscreen, you ignored Jungkook’s obvious presence on the opposite side of the counter. Until his hand reached around the card reader and grasped a hold of your chin. The warmth of his fingers forced your head to turn to meet his.
“Come to dinner with me.” His voice was nothing but a rumble in his chest, his eyes so black and all-consuming you couldn’t do anything but agree with him. He seemed pleased by your response as his fingers tightened against your skin and a grateful smile flicked past his lips. His gaze darted down to your mouth and your breath froze in your chest.
“Are you going to kiss me?”
Jungkook raised an eyebrow. “Do you want me to?”
“No.” You tried to shake your head but his grip didn’t allow you much movement. He was taken aback by your answer, a small frown tugging at his mouth. You quickly backtracked to fix the situation. “I don’t want our first kiss to be in a grocery store. That’s a new low that I refuse to reach.”
Jungkook chuckled and tapped your chin gently. “Alright, darling. I’ll pick you up at seven.”
Tumblr media
Again, he kept his promise to you. He showed up at your parents house exactly at seven, wearing a button-down shirt and slacks. The tulips he had gotten for you was thrust into your hands the moment you opened the door. Flashing him a genuine smile, you hurried into the kitchen to set them in water while your mother grilled him on his birth time. You were quick to drag him away, practically throwing him towards the car as you waved goodbye.
“Sorry,” you sighed as Jungkook opened the passenger door for you. “She has a…thing for astrology. She’s probably creating your star map or whatever right now.”
“It’s okay,” he responded once he got into the drivers seat. “It’s sweet of her to care.”
You snorted. “She’s delusional is what she is.”
“So, you’re saying you don’t believe in astrology?”
“Do you?”
Jungkook shrugged as he pulled out of your dirt driveway. He looked so damn attractive behind the wheel it was honestly unfair. “Not really saying I do or don’t. All I know is that there are a lot of things out there that are out of our control. If believing in the stars and planets helps you gain some of that control back, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.”
“God, don’t talk like that in front of my mother. She’ll want to start dating you.”
He grinned and placed a hand on your knee. “Tell her I’m already taken.”
You didn’t get a chance to respond to that. Not that he didn’t give you one, it was just that you literally had nothing to say. With just one sentence he opened the floodgates of your brain and the amount of thoughts that were flying through your conscious was painful. Anxiety fluttered in your stomach and you pressed your lips together to keep you from word vomiting onto him. No, it was better to keep your mouth shut and let the moment pass.
By the time you reached the restaurant you were a trembling mess of nerves. Were you guys dating? You thought this was just a ‘testing the waters’ date, not a ‘you’re my girlfriend now’ date. Did you have to make it Facebook official? You hated that shit.
Jungkook didn’t comment on your obvious distress, though. He merely placed a hand on the small of your back, ignoring how you jerked in surprise, and led you into the quiet bistro. Nodding politely to the hostess who was practically panting at the sight of him (you honestly couldn’t blame her) and pulled out your chair for you. When he sat down, he started talking. Idle chat at first. Commenting on one of the dishes, asking about the college classes you were taking at your local university. Before you realized it, wine was in your glass and your shoulders were loose. Previous nerves forgotten, you lost yourself in Jungkook. You drank, you ate, you laughed, and genuinely enjoyed his company. Honestly, it was the best date you’d ever been on.
“I have to be honest with you,” Jungkook spoke after he finished his raw steak. “I have an ulterior motive for asking you here tonight.”
“Oh,” you mumbled around the shrimp you had just tossed in your mouth. “So…this isn’t a date?”
“No, it is,” Jungkook clarified quickly around a dry chuckle. He seemed…nervous. It put you on edge immediately. “This is definitely a date. And, also, more.”
“More? What, is this a proposal too?” You were joking. A 100% joking. But Jungkook was staring at you so seriously it made you panic. “Jungkook, if you get down on one knee here I swear-”
“I’m not proposing,” he assured you. “This is something more than that.”
“More?” You parroted. Jungkook sighed.
“Do you know what a true mate is?”
Right there, in that quaint little bistro, on a date with quite possibly the most untouchable man you’d ever met, he explained how you were irrevocably his. His true mate, his soulmate.
Jungkook explained everything in great detail, which you appreciated, because honestly, you had no words. He explained how when he was born, the witch who cared for him told his father that his future glared brightly ahead of him, but only when he met his other half. True mates were rare. Mating was common, the wolves in his pack could have multiple mates or a lifelong one, but true mates were destiny. Someone or something out there had forged the two of you together. You were essentially each others other half. He was made for you and you were made for him.
“But…aren’t true mates only for wolves? I thought it’s impossible for a human to be a true mate,” you asked in a shaky voice once Jungkook took a breath.
“It was supposed to be impossible. Until, I met you.” Jungkook stared at you with a sort of reverence that made your entire body blush. “I have no idea how you are. I’ve spent hours researching. I’ve consulted with members of my pack and others. No one knows why.”
“Are you sure, though? I mean…what if you’re wrong?”
“I’m not.” Jungkook shook his head. “I visited the witch right after I met you. She took one look at me and told me that I had finally found my true mate. She said she’d never seen a future so bright before.”
You had no words for that. For the first time in your life, you were speechless. Jungkook seemed to understand. He let you sit in silence as he paid for the bill and walked you out to the car. The drive back to your parents house was the same. You couldn’t speak. The shock rendered you stupid.
By the time Jungkook pulled into the driveway you still hadn’t spoken a word to each other. You stepped out of the car before he could open the door for you. Walking up to the porch steps in a trance, you didn’t hear him follow you until he clasped your wrist in his hand. Turning to face him, you were surprised to see his brown eyes so big. They practically sparkled in the moonlight and he looked so soft and sweet you nearly melted into the wood beneath your feet.
“Please,” he whispered. “Can you…just - are you okay? You’ve been so quiet. I’m worried I’ve scared you off or something.”
With that voice, it was impossible to deny him. So, you said the first thing that popped in your head. “Do we have to make it Facebook official?”
Jungkook stared at you before bursting into laughter. “Really? That’s all you have to say?”
You blushed and glanced down. “I’m just worried, that’s all. I can’t remember my Facebook password so even if you wanted to change it I don’t think it’ll work.”
“So that’s why you never accepted my friend request,” Jungkook teased. Before you could squeak out a response, he wrapped his arms around your waist and tugged you forward. You kept your arms crossed across your chest but let yourself fall against him.
“Don’t make fun of me,” you whined as you buried your face into his shoulder. He smelled so good, a mixture of pine and spice. “My brain hasn’t worked since you told me I’m yours, so bear with me.”
Jungkook chuckled and gently swayed you from side to side. “Does that mean you’re okay with this? All of this?”
Sighing, you lifted your head up and stepped away from him. Jungkook was not impressed and pulled you back to him. Your heart swelled in your chest and you wrapped your arms around his neck in consolation. “Honestly? I haven’t really processed anything. You’ve had your whole life to come to terms with this. I just found out thirty minutes ago that I’m someone’s soulmate. It’s a lot to take in.”
Jungkook nodded as he tapped his fingers against your hips. “I know. It’s a lot…I’m a lot. I just want you to know that you don’t have to do this. You don’t have to be with me. I won’t-”
Now it was your turn to burst into laughter. You couldn’t believe those words had left his mouth. It was easily the most absurd thing you’d ever heard. “Jungkook, I want to make something very clear. I have no problem being your true mate. That’s not the issue here. Well, there really isn’t an issue. It’s just…hard to believe, I guess. I have to process that this is my new reality.”
“Really?” Jungkook perked up and looked so fucking cute you couldn’t help but cup his cheeks. His skin was so warm despite the cold autumn air that surrounded you both. “You want to do this? Be with me? Be mine?” All you could do was nod. You were so overwhelmed with emotions. The shock was evident, but a piece of you was so happy. You felt whole.
Jungkook’s face split into a wide smile that caused his nose to scrunch up. He wrapped his arms around your waist and spun you around. Squealing, you slung your legs around his hips and held on. Normally, you’d rather die than show this much affection to someone. But, this was Jungkook. Your soulmate.
“So…what do we do now?” You asked once Jungkook set you down. “Is there, like, a ceremony or something?”
“I have no idea,” he admitted as he stared down at you. He had a hand against your jaw and was rubbing your cheek tenderly. “I really didn’t think I’d get this far.”
You scoffed at his ridiculousness. While recognizing you were Jungkook’s true mate was going to take some time, believing that he thought you’d deny him was utter nonsense. “What if…what if we date, first?” You suggested timidly. “I know that sounds kind of weird considering we’re supposed to be the loves of each others lives. But, I don’t really know you all that well. And, I think this is going to take sometime for me to get used to. Maybe we should date, get to know each other, and just learn how to be with one another.”
“Whatever you want,” Jungkook agreed. “We can do whatever you want. Just as long as I have you, I’m happy.”

Two years passed.
Two blissful, wonderful years. Two years of dating, two years of loving, two years of being Jeon Jungkook’s. It was everything you could’ve asked for and more. You had never felt so loved and cherished in your entire life. He respected you, he took care of you, and most importantly, he was there for you in every sense. Since the moment you met him, you hadn’t been alone. He hadn’t let you. Jungkook knew you better than you knew yourself.
And, it was the same for him. You were there for him when he transitioned into the leader of his pack. You were there when he took over the CEO position from his father and encouraged and supported him every step of the way. You let yourself be loved and in return he let you love him. It was wonderful.
Except, for one tiny thing.
While the emotional aspect of your relationship flourished and bloomed into something beautiful, the physical side remained stagnant. Make out sessions and heavy petting were a norm in your relationship. At first, it didn’t bother you. In fact, you loved that Jungkook was taking things so slow and so seriously. But, eventually, your needs began to grow. You found yourself wanting him in more ways than one, wants that only he could satisfy. Jungkook refused. Every time.
It wasn’t like he refused your every need. No, Jungkook was extremely attentive. When it came to himself, that’s when things got dicy. He had no problem spending hours between your legs, worshipping you until you were crying from the overstimulation. Yet, he wouldn’t let you anywhere near him. Not without lack of trying on your part. The minute your hands went down to his waistband, he pushed you away. Every time you tried to dip your mouth to the obvious bulge in his pants, he lifted you up and kissed you breathless until you forgot your name. It wasn’t until after a year of dating that he finally let you grind on his clothed cock. Even then, he held off until you finished and then walked out with quite possibly the worst case of blue balls. You hated that he did this to himself. The worst part was, you couldn’t understand why.
The one time you had brought it up to him it had resulted in the worst fight the two of you had ever gotten into. It was the only argument that was never really resolved. After the yelling and the tears, all you got out of Jungkook was that mating with a wolf was not pretty. It was extremely dangerous and he refused to put you in that kind of danger. End of discussion. No matter how hard you tried to persuade him or broach the subject, he shut it down. Hard. Eventually, you gave up.
He even spent his ruts away from you. Every three months, he left you for a week. You knew he had a place somewhere up in the mountains and you assumed that’s where he went. You had no idea. There was no point even asking to come along. You loved your boyfriend and didn’t want to purposely give him a heart attack. You hated it when he left. As much as you tried to hide it and convince him that you were just fine, he wasn’t stupid. Being away from him was tough. A piece of you was missing whenever he was gone. And you were only whole again when he returned.
This past week had been one of those weeks. He had left on Sunday for the mountains. He was agitated and clingy, how he normally was pre-rut. Jungkook wouldn’t let you leave his side and you spent most of the weekend on his lap or wrapped in his arms. Not that you minded. When he left your parents house on Sunday night, you’d had to coax him out of the door. Promising him that you’d be okay and that you’d see him next week. It wasn’t until several kisses later did Jungkook finally leave.
While you’d been doing this for two years, it never got easier. More manageable? Sure. But definitely not easier. All you could do was go through the motions. You went to work at the local bakery, came home and helped your mom with dinner, watched TV with your dad before going to bed. Taehyung and Jimin would visit often, threatened by Jungkook to keep you company. While you assured them it wasn’t necessary, you secretly didn’t mind. They made you laugh and made you temporarily forget your boyfriend was miles away from you. Sometimes, if you were lucky, he’d call you to tell you goodnight. But those times were rare. Normally, you didn’t hear from him until Friday or Saturday when he was finally coming out of his rut and returning to the world.
By the time Sunday rolled around, you were a jittery ball of nerves. Not in a bad sense. You were just excited. The anticipation killed you and it took all of your willpower to sit and wait for his text to tell you to come over. Your parents always left you alone on these Sundays, unable to deal with your hyperactiveness and constant fidgeting.
This Sunday was no different. You puttered around your room for the better part of the day. You spent the other part in the kitchen, baking like your life depended on it. Jungkook loved your cookies and you always made sure to come over with at least three batches after his ruts. He always said that was his second favorite part about coming home, after seeing you, of course.
You had just finished packaging the final batch in a glass cookie jar when your phone dinged. You didn’t have to read the message, you knew exactly what it said. Pure joy rushed through your system as you threw on your coat and shouted a hasty goodbye to your parents. Juggling the cookies and car keys, you sprinted to your car. The drive to Jungkook’s was thankfully not long. About ten minutes, as long as you didn’t hit any traffic on the main road. Luck was on your side, though, and you showed up at Jungkook’s house in eight minutes.
Taehyung’s car was in the driveway when you pulled up, which wasn’t odd. Although Jungkook owned the house, the members of his pack were almost always around. While most preferred to travel in their wolf forms, you knew Taehyung and Namjoon preferred cars. Something about being able to listen to their own music without comments from the peanut gallery. You didn’t really understand and didn’t really need to. You had just chalked it up as one of their many quirks.
Carrying the trays of cookies in both hands, you shut your car door with your foot before speed-walking up the stone walkway to Jungkook’s home. The screen door was shut, but the wooden door was swung wide open. You had just reached for the metal handle when you heard it.
A deep, threatening growl ripped through the peaceful quiet and froze you in place. You knew it was Jungkook. While you had only heard it once, you’d never forgotten it. It was when the two of you had attended a party and an alpha from a neighboring pack had cornered you in the hallway. Jungkook had found you cowered against the wall as the other alpha had caged you in. The sound that had left his chest had given you equal parts comfort and fear. Comfort, because he was there and you knew you were safe. Fear, because you could see in the way he bared his teeth and how his muscles vibrated, he had been furious and bloodthirsty.
That’s what you felt now, fear.
Something was wrong. Something was very, very wrong.
From your vantage point in front of the screen door, you could see directly into the kitchen. Taehyung was leaning against the granite countertop and Jungkook was seated at the island. The tension was so thick you practically choked on it.
“Enough, Taehyung.”
“No,” Taehyung snapped, seeming just as angry as Jungkook. “I’m not dropping it. Not this time.”
“Yes, you will,” Jungkook snarled. “I’m not having this conversation with you.”
“Too fucking bad.” While Taehyung was also an alpha, he acted so much like a beta you never really noticed. Until now. “I’m not going to sit by and watch you do this to yourself anymore. Not spending your ruts correctly is only causing you more harm than good.”
“I’m doing things the way I want to, and it’s working-”
“The hell it is!” Jungkook growled at the interruption but Taehyung ignored him. “It’s not working, and you know it. Anyone with two fucking eyes knows it. It’s getting so bad that the pack is noticing, too. Even Namjoon has realized something is wrong, and he’s as oblivious as they come.”
“If they have a problem with me they can take it up with me.”
“No, they can’t. Because you won’t listen. Your head is so far up your ass you can’t even hear yourself anymore. What you’re doing right now is not working. Something needs to change.”
“Like what?” Jungkook spat.
“You know what,” Taehyung bit back. Jungkook was practically vibrating from rage. You knew you needed to go get someone, someone from the pack to calm the two of them down. Things were only escalating, but you couldn’t move. Your brain screamed at you to run but your legs were rooted in place. “That’s is what’s so frustrating, Jungkook. This, all of this, could be solved. She’s right there-”
“Don’t.” Jungkook stood up so fast the chair he sat on flew backwards and hit the wall with a resounding crack.
“Why?” Taehyung threw his arms up in the air. “Why not? I don’t get it-”
“Because I don’t want her!” Jungkook yelled, the force of it rang throughout the house. You had no idea who the she was that they were referring to. You assumed it was someone from the pack. It was well-known that wolves with human mates sometimes turned to other she-wolves to help with their ruts. You figured that’s what Jungkook did whenever he went away for a week. It had bothered you at first, but you knew he had his needs and that they were at a biological level. You refused to make him feel guilty or ashamed for taking care of himself.
“You don’t want her?” Taehyung was enraged. You could tell by the way he straightened his spine and unfurled himself to his full height. Jungkook bristled in response and the muscles in his back strained against the thin material of his shirt.
“No, I don’t!” Jungkook exploded. “What don’t you understand about that? I don’t want her around me. I don’t need her, I’m fine on my own. The thought of having her there when…God - it makes me physically ill.”
“She’s your girlfriend. Above all of that, your true mate. You’re seriously going to deny yourself of her, for what? Just because you don’t like having her around?”
Oh.
That’s when it hit you. They weren’t talking about some random she-wolf. They were talking about you. You were the one Jungkook didn’t want. You were the one Jungkook didn’t need. You were the one he didn’t like having around. As the weight of the words sunk into your mind, you felt your chest becoming tighter and tighter.
Then, you’re heart broke right in half. You dropped the container of cookies and didn’t flinch when it shattered against the wooden slats. The sound unstuck your feet from their position on the porch and your fight or flight system took over. Without a second thought, you turned on your heel and ran.
You didn’t know if anyone was behind you, you didn’t turn around to check. Hands fumbled for the car door as you threw yourself into the drivers side. Pain ricocheted throughout your chest cavity and you struggled to breathe. Your brain was blank, the only thing your mind did was move your body to get you somewhere safe. You had to leave and you had to leave now.
Miraculously, your fingers found your keys and inserted them into the ignition on the second try. A flutter of movement occurred to the left of you but your eyes didn’t let you look that way. Instead, they focused on the rearview mirror as you reversed out of the driveway. Your right hand found the gearshift and moved it to drive. Soon, you were tearing down the street as your ears refused to register the agonized howls that echoed behind as you kept staring forward. Adrenaline pumped through your system and your body shivered in response, the splash of hormones had created a blanket of fake calm over you. The emotions, the pain, the thoughts were swirling inside of you, ready to break free and drown you, but your brain wouldn’t allow it.
It wasn’t until you reached the end of your long driveway that you felt the original spike of adrenaline fade away. Your mother was in the front, tending to the flowers, and looked up when she saw your car fly into its usual spot. She stood up and her face twisted into a frown when you got out of your seat.
“Honey, your aura…it’s concerning.” The blanket was yanked away and the pain crashed over you.
You couldn’t say a word, all you could do was collapse in your mother's arms and cry, cry, cry.
Tumblr media
It took you two days to calm down. The tears had stopped rolling and your shoulders no longer shook from trying to hold your sobs behind your teeth. Your mother hadn’t left your side, leaving your father to answer the door whenever someone knocked. The only person who did was Taehyung and Jimin. Jungkook never showed up.
Well, that was a lie.
Jungkook did show up every morning and night, without fail. But he never came to your doorstep.  Instead, he was in the woods behind your house, patrolling, not daring to leave the protection of the forest. A part of you wondered if he was respecting your obvious need for space or if your mother had paid a witch to set up boundary lines that didn’t allow him to cross. Either way, you were grateful that you couldn’t see him. There was an incessant tugging in your heart to be near him but you staunchly ignored it, which would’ve been impossible if you saw his achingly beautiful face.
I don’t want her. I don’t need her. Having her there makes me physically ill. Those three sentences played in a constant loop in your head, like a horror movie you couldn’t escape from. You were the protagonist who couldn’t escape the maze, but the villain wasn’t kind enough to kill you off. No matter what you did, your brain wouldn’t stop repeating those three sentences. Your mother burned sage, she pressed crystals into your palms, she muttered ritual after ritual, but nothing worked.
You hated how affected you were. You had always told yourself that you would never be the girl who’d get so wrapped up in someone else they didn’t know who they were anymore. Independence was something you prided yourself on, but you seemed to be at a complete loss now. You couldn’t stop the waves of sadness and self-hatred at your depressed state. It was amazing how empty you felt yet so full of pain at the same time. Your mind and heart couldn’t seem to decide which hurt worse; your heart for having your soulmate so obviously reject you, or your brain for trying to make sense of the situation. When did this happen? How did this happen? How had you been so blind as to not see it?
“I don’t think we’re soulmates,” you rasped to your mom on the third morning. It had been the first words you had spoken to her since you had fell into her arms. She looked up from the bundle of herbs she was smoking.
“Why do you say that?”
You stared at your hands that had curled in on themselves. “I don’t make him happy. I-I never realized how uncomfortable I made him. I wish I had known. How did I miss it?”
Your mother tutted gently and gathered you in her arms. She smelled of lavender and wax. “This is good. I’m glad you’re letting yourself have this moment. Let’s sit in this and allow yourself to be embedded here.” But you didn’t want to have this moment. You didn’t want to have any moment and you’ve felt enough to last a lifetime. Instead, you rolled over, let sleep overtake you and tried to ignore the distant howling that rattled your window pane.
By nightfall of the fourth day, you were forced out of bed. Partly by choice, partly by force. Your parents had dipped out to run to the grocery store, despite your mother’s insistence that she could stay. You and your father managed to convince her to leave and you had gotten up to wave them goodbye. Sure, your heart was broken, but the least you could do was kiss them on the cheek before they left. You had turned around to shuffle into the kitchen to try and shovel something down your dry throat when a loud knock sounded at the front door. Hesitating, you carefully peeked through the kitchen window and saw Jimin on your front doorstep, dressed in all black.
Sighing, you stumbled over and pulled the door open. You figured you couldn’t avoid them for much longer. “Hey, Jimin.”
“Christ, you look like shit.”
You huffed out a laugh as Jimin stared at you in horror, not having the energy to be offended. You also knew, in a weird way, that this was Jimin’s way of caring for you. “Yeah. My mother’s covered all the mirrors in the house.”
Jimin nodded as he glanced at you from head to toe. “I want to ask if you’re okay but…” He gestured to your gaunt frame swaddled in a heavy sweatshirt and sweatpants. For the first time in two years, they were your own clothes, not Jungkook’s.
“I’m fine, Jimin,” you heaved a heavy sigh and leaned against the doorframe. “Do you want to come in? I think my mom boiled some tea not too long ago.”
Jimin shook his head. “Can’t. Jungkook would have a fit if I got that close to you right now. I’m already pushing my luck just by showing up.” He doesn’t care, you thought bitterly, and almost said it out loud but you caught yourself at the last second. Jimin wasn’t stupid, though. He knew what you were thinking. “Hey,” he murmured, eyes going soft, “are you ready to talk about it?”
“No.” You shook your head. A wave of sadness washed over you but the telltale prick of tears didn’t come.
Jimin understood. He tucked his hands into his pockets as he rocked back onto his heels. “Are you going to talk to him?”
Letting out a heavy breath, you crossed your arms over your chest. “I know I have to. I just…I just need time.”
“Take however long you need.”
Tumblr media
It was another 48-hours before you finally snapped. While you had spent the majority of the two days that had passed to make yourself resemble a human being, you couldn’t focus. You couldn’t move on. Why?
Because Jungkook wouldn’t leave you alone.
His presence was constant. He circled your house every hour of ever day, the large shadow of him in wolf form darkened the trees behind your house. The howling had stopped but the pacing hadn’t. You hoped he was at least sleeping, but then you got annoyed at yourself for caring. You didn’t know why he was out there, it made no sense. Jungkook’s words were so different from his actions it made your head spin.
But, you needed to move on with your life. You had to. The only way it was going to happen was if Jungkook did too. It hurt. God, did it hurt. Yet, as sad and utterly pathetic as it sounded, you were used to the pain at this point, had resigned yourself to it. A part of you worried you wouldn’t know what to do without it.
Shaking off that depressing thought, you tugged on your rain boots and stepped outside for the first time in a week. The air was heavy with the promise of rain, the clouds low and gray. You tugged the hood up on your sweater to prevent your hair from completely frizzing out before you walked to down the back deck steps.
The backyard of your parents house was expansive. The home you had grown up in sat on top of a sloping hill that your mother had turned into her personal greenhouse. You stepped past rows of raised garden beds and pruned plants until you reached the line where the neatly mowed grass met the twisted ferns of the forest floor. As you had suspected, the ground was scorched with the evidence of past rituals. While your mother hadn’t out right admitted, you had figured someone had come and created a boundary line. It was obviously specific to Jungkook since Jimin and Taehyung were still able to visit. While your mother’s methods were extreme, you understood. As difficult as it was to move on with your life with Jungkook sequestered to the forest, you couldn’t imagine what it would’ve been like if he was within a few feet of you.
With a deep inhale, you sat down on the damp grass and waited. After a few minutes, you could hear the faint sounds of paws hitting the wet earth. The galloping got louder and louder until there was a momentary stretch of silence before it changed to footsteps.
When Jungkook emerged from the trees, you weren’t prepared. Although you knew you wouldn’t be, you still weren’t expecting it to hurt this bad. Your chest squeezed painfully at the first look of his broad form. Technically, it had been two weeks since you two had truly seen each other, the longest you’d ever gone. What hurt the most was how badly you longed for him. You wanted nothing more than to run straight into his arms, bury your face into his chest, and forget everything. Just forgive and give your heart what it wanted. But you remained firmly in place.
Jungkook looked as if he had seen a ghost. Which, to be fair, was probably true since you hadn’t seen the sun in seven days. His normally golden skin was pale and even from where you sat you could see the dark circles bruising under his eyes. Clearly, he hadn’t been sleeping. You hated that you noticed. You hated that you cared. He was dressed in all black and his chest strained against the material of his sweater. His hands were balled into tight fists at his side and the sight reminded you of why you were here.
“Hi.” Probably wasn’t the best start but it was the best you could do. Jungkook didn’t respond so you soldiered on. “I-I know you don’t want to be here, so I’ll make this quick. I just…wanted to apologize. I had no idea I made you so uncomfortable. I’m not sure how long you’ve felt this way about me, not that it really matters, but I wish you had told me sooner. Maybe things would’ve been easier for you, who knows.” You released a heavy sigh and tried to shove down the stone in your throat as you forced the next words out of your mouth. “But, all of that doesn’t matter anymore. I think I understand what you need, now. I know you loved me at one point, but I’m obviously not what you need anymore. And…t-that’s okay - I swear it is. All I want is for you to be happy, Jungkook. And I think, in order for that to happen, I need to move on. We both need to move on-”
“Stop it,” Jungkook broke in with a harsh voice that cut your sentence in half. “Stop talking.”
It felt like he had slapped you in the face. A wave of humiliation washed over you and you visibly flinched. Staggering to your feet, you locked your gaze onto your boots in an attempt to hide the tears that dripped down your nose. “I’m sorry,” you whispered, not expecting it to change anything. You began to turn away but Jungkook stopped you in your tracks, again.
“Wait, no - stop. Stop. Please…don’t go,” he pleaded. When you turned around, his eyes were frantic. Jungkook’s hand was raised from his side as if he thought about reaching out to you but something stopped him. His words were at war with one another and you were caught in the middle, at a loss for what he was trying so desperately to convey to you.
“Jungkook, I’m so confused.”
“I know. I’m sorry. God, I’m sorry.” Jungkook tucked his head into his hands before dropping down into a squat. “This is all wrong. This is all so wrong.”
You knew you should walk away. You had said your piece, it was time to move on, just as you had said. Yet, you couldn’t. It was as if your heart was tethered to him and your body couldn’t handle the pain of walking away. “Listen-”
“I don’t know what to do.” He cut you off but the bubbles of anger that had risen from being interrupted popped once you saw how lost he looked. His tattooed fingers threaded through his hair, allowing you to see the pure anguish that twisted his features. “Whenever I feel like this, I come to you. Because you always know what to do. Any situation, no matter what, you can handle it. It’s something I’ve always admired about you.”
The way he spoke to you now, so reverently and so full of awe, made your head spin. Nothing made sense.  It was such a blatant contrast to the brutality that he had spat out a week ago. As much as you wanted to believe what he said now, those stupid words could not get out of your head. It was a constant reminder that never shut up.
“I don’t know what to do either,” you admitted in a quiet voice.
“Tell me,” Jungkook begged, as if he couldn’t and refused to comprehend what you had just told him. “Tell me what to do, and I’ll do it. Whatever you want from me, I’ll give you.”
You were shaking your head before he could finish. “There’s nothing you can do, Jungkook. Nothing.”
“Don’t say that.” He stared at you, horrified. “Don’t say that to me. Please, there has to be something.”
“What could there be?” You cried. Tears streamed down your cheeks now. “You said it yourself, being near me makes you sick. Why would I stay? Why would you want me to? I refuse to make you uncomfortable anymore - so that’s that.”
“It isn’t,” Jungkook argued back. “It can’t be. I-I can’t lose you, I can’t. I need to make this right, please just let me. Please.”
But, you were tired. You were so fucking tired. You were exhausted of the emotional rollercoaster that you were on that you just wanted to crawl away and hide. All the fight seeped out of you as your shoulders slumped forward. Jungkook saw this and the blood drained from his face. You were giving up, he could see it, and it scared the shit out of him.
“Jungkook, I need to go, okay? I-I can’t do this.”
“No!” Jungkook shouted and shot up to his feet. The pure panic that choked his voice brought on a fresh set of tears that you struggled to hold back. “Just let me explain, okay? I swear to God, after you hear what I have to say, if you still want me to, I’ll let you go. I won’t fight you on it. But, please let me tell you the truth. Give me a chance to make this right. You deserve that.”
You hesitated for a moment. Deep down, you knew you should let him talk. Not because you necessarily thought he deserved to, but because he was right. You did deserve the truth, no matter how much it broke your heart. With a heavy sigh and a quick swipe of your cheeks, you nodded. Once Jungkook was sure you weren’t going to leave, he began pacing. Looking every bit like the wild animal you knew him to be but never got to see.
“Mating with a werewolf is…brutal. It’s intense, it’s painful and it isn’t pretty. It’s essentially a breeding session where I use you as a vessel to fulfill my innate biological needs. It’s not romantic, it’s not gentle. Even for she-wolves it can be too much. The thought of subjecting you to something like that - that type of pain…I couldn’t fathom it. I don’t think you understand just how precious you are to me. The image of you being battered and bruised because of me, something I did…it tormented me, day and night.” He paused for a moment, the pained look in his eyes made you shiver. You hated that he had gone through all of this turmoil on his own, and you especially hated how you never made more of an effort to try and relieve him of it.
“I couldn’t do it. That’s partially the reason I waited so long to tell you that you were my true mate. I knew ruts were something I would never expose you to even though it’s such a huge part of my life, a wolf’s life.” Jungkook looked you straight in the eye, the intensity of his dark gaze took your breath away. “I know the practices other wolves partake in when their own heats or ruts arrive. I know you know them too. But, I need you to understand something. The moment you allowed me to be yours and vice versa, I haven’t had anyone else since. I swear on my life, I’ve spent every single one of my ruts alone. I wouldn’t and I won’t do that to you.”
“Isn’t that painful, though?” Your voice cracked but neither one of you acknowledged it. While your knowledge on ruts were expansive, having done plenty of research since being with Jungkook, you had obviously never experienced one.
“It’s manageable. It’s way more painful for a she-wolf to go through her heat alone than it is for a male.” Jungkook clenched and unclenched his fists as he resumed his pacing. “The worst part is being away from you. I’ve been going through ruts since puberty, I can handle them. But not being able to be with you for a whole week…I hated it. Still do. I dread that three month mark. And as time went on, I became more and more miserable. Being apart from you was almost unbearable but the other option…I never even allowed myself to consider it.
“It came to the point where the pack was noticing. I wasn’t getting the proper pheromonal release from my ruts and it was beginning to affect those around me. Taehyung has been on my ass for months now to get over myself and take you with me during my next rut. Each time I’d give him some excuse, but it was getting harder and harder to justify what I was doing. At first, I was convinced it was because I was protecting you. But you’ve been so understanding and so patient with me and my life, those excuses were becoming useless. Eventually, I think it was because I was protecting myself. I was - am - so scared. I’m terrified that I could hurt you when I’m like that. That I wouldn’t be able to notice or worse, ignored, if something happened to you. Living with that type of fear became debilitating. So, I just kept my mouth shut and kept you away from that part of me.”
Jungkook shook his head and chuckled humorlessly. “Now I know that was the worst possible thing I could do. That I was just hurting you more. What you walked into last Sunday was a culmination of my frustrations that I was refusing to deal with. While it’s not a valid reason, I’m well aware of that, I need you to know that what you heard was not the truth. It couldn’t be further from it. Because the truth is that I’m hopelessly in love with you and the thought of being without you hurts worse than I ever thought was possible.”
It wasn’t the first nor would it be the last time that Jungkook left you speechless. It took you a full minute to process what he had said. Jungkook granted you the silence although he became increasingly more agitated as time passed. His boots scuffed the dead leaves that littered the ground and his pacing led him closer to the ashes that lay before your feet. Then, he’d suddenly stalk off with a growl as he was forced to keep away.
“I-” you cleared your throat around the lump that had found a home there. “I had no idea. This whole time…I thought it was because you didn’t want me.”
“God, no.” Jungkook swore heavily as his muscles bunched and coiled beneath his clothes. “The - the fact that…you - fuck. I’m so sorry. I’m so fucking sorry. That’s not it, that’s not it at all. You’re my dream girl, you’re the love of my life, and I want you every second of every day.”
Maybe it’s because you were emotionally drained and had no mental strength left. Maybe, you needed to hear those words from Jungkook more than you realized. Whatever the reason was, it wasn’t worth trying to figure out an explanation as you sunk to the ground and burst into tears.
Jungkook lost it across from you. Broken whines stained the air as he carded through his hair anxiously. He kept trying to get to you, to try to soothe you. But the boundary was unfortunately doing its job and each attempt was met with failure. Curses were spat out until eventually, he got as close as the boundary would let him and fell to his knees. He began spewing whatever came to mind first, unsure of what to do. All he knew was that you were crying because of him and there was absolutely nothing he could do about it. He thought hearing you cry from your bedroom window was torture, but nothing could compare to hearing you break down in front of him. Nothing. “Fuck, fuck, fuck. I’m sorry…please, I’m so sorry. I - don’t cry, darling. Please don’t. I’m so sorry I hurt you, I didn’t mean to, I swear.”
It wasn’t tears of heartbreak that leaked from your eyes. Instead, it was tears of relief. While your heart had wholly accepted his words as the truth, the logical part of you reminded yourself that the two of you had way more talking to do. This was far from over, but the relief of knowing that he loved you and he was yours…it was indescribable.
You finally lifted your head up and were shocked to find Jungkook’s cheeks glistening with moisture. Your only thought was to comfort him as you scrambled forward to do just that. Instead of feeling his smooth skin against the palm of your hand, you were blocked by what felt like a wall although nothing stood in your way. Frowning, you realized with a start that the boundary worked both ways. Jungkook let out a frustrated growl as he glared at the ashes that was stopping both of you from getting what you wanted. It was silent for a few moments until an idea popped into your head.
“Wait here,” you announced before jumping up and taking off for the house. Ignoring Jungkook’s distressed cry, you ran inside. You yanked your car keys off from their designated hook and quickly typed out a text to your parents to let them know where you were going before spinning around and sprinting back outside. Jungkook was where you left him, although he stumbled to his feet when he saw you reappear.
“I’m going to your house,” you announced, breathless. “No witch is stupid enough to go that far into werewolf territory. If you want to talk to me there, then follow me.”
Jungkook stared at you for a heartbeat until the words you spoke clicked. “Y-yeah. Yes. Okay. I’ll be there.”
With a curt nod, you ran to your car. For the first time in a week, a faint sprout of hope bloomed in your chest.
Tumblr media
It was the longest and shortest ten minutes of your life. The drive to Jungkook’s seemed to last a lifetime but also was over within a blink of an eye. The tears had stopped flowing by the time you pulled your car into his driveway, but you felt the telltale prick in your eyes when you saw him burst from the trees. Your heart ached as his long legs ate up the distance between you two as you wrestled with your seatbelt and threw the car into park. By the time you freed yourself, he was at the hood of your car.
The two of you stared at each other for a few breathless moments. You weren’t sure who moved first, but it didn’t matter as you crashed into each other’s arms. The moment his searing warmth enveloped you, you dissolved into another puddle of sobs. The feeling of his thick arms banded across your back, his torso molded to yours, and his hair tickling your ear, felt so right. Another wave of crippling relief washed over you and you practically melted against Jungkook. But he held you up, just like he always had.
He leaned against the front bumper while his hands were everywhere. Cradling your head into his neck, smoothing over your hips, or running circles over your shoulders. He was crying, you could feel the tears dampening your hair. But you were soaking his shirt so no one was in any position to complain.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered.
“Don’t,” Jungkook hissed fiercely as he squeezed you tighter. “Don’t apologize. This isn’t your fault, not in the slightest.”
“Kook,” you sighed and pulled your head back to get a good look at him. “It takes two to tango.”
“Not this time,” he argued. “You’ve put up with so much. You’re everything I could’ve asked for and more. It was my own fears that got in the way and created this mess. And I’m so sorry for that, darling. I’m so fucking sorry.”
You shushed him gently, running your thumbs over his cheeks to swipe at the dried tears. “I know you’re sorry. I believe you.”
Jungkook dipped his head further into your touch with a pleased rumble vibrating through his chest. He kissed your palm gently, sniffing at your wrist. It made you giggle. “Missed that,” Jungkook mumbled as he stared at you with stars in his eyes. “Missed you. Missed you so much.”
A fresh wave of tears cascaded down your cheeks. You were positive that you looked like a mess, hair in a knotted bun, face red and puffy and you kept sniffling every two seconds. But Jungkook looked at you as if you held the world in your hands. “Missed you too,” you murmured in return. “Please, next time, just talk to me. I may not have the answers you’re looking for all the time, but I’ll always be here to listen.”
“I know,” Jungkook whispered. “There won’t be a next time, promise. If I happen to be stupid enough to put us in this position again, I give you full permission to punch me in the face.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.” You lifted yourself onto your toes to brush your lips against his, dropping back down to your feet when his head chased after yours. “Or maybe I just won’t kiss you for a week.”
Jungkook’s eyes widened comically and he actually looked terrified. “I’d rather you just punched me in the face.” You tilted your head back and laughed. Jungkook tugged you closer and nosed your throat before peppering gentle kisses along the exposed skin. Sighing happily, you tilted your head to allow him better access and rested your cheek on his shoulder.
“I love you,” you said quietly. Jungkook froze for a split second before he sank against you. Squeaking in shock, you scrambled to brace yourself against the sudden weight pressing you towards the house.
“Say it again,” Jungkook pleaded. You couldn’t deny him. Dusting feather light kisses to the shell of his ear, you repeated those three words again, and again, and again. Each time you did, Jungkook held you a little tighter and cried a little harder.
Eventually, you’re murmured promises became softer and softer until the two of you just enjoyed each others presence. “C’mon,” you finally whispered as you started to lift yourself off of him. Jungkook growled and refused to let you move an inch farther. “Kook, come on. Let’s go inside. Your ass must be numb by now.”
“Don’t care,” he grumbled but he at least shuffled forward a bit more so that your combined weight wasn’t squashing his ass against your car.
“You might say that now, but you won’t be saying that later.”
Jungkook grunted at your logic but he at least raised his head and looked at you with the sweetest eyes. “Please tell me you’re staying.”
Giggling, you asked, “do you want me to?”
“Obviously,” he scoffed. “I want you here forever.” Jungkook tilted his head thoughtfully. “Actually, you should just move in with me.”
Christ, this boy was going to give you whiplash. You couldn’t help but laugh. “Jungkook, we just made up. The whole reason we were in this mess is because of poor communication. Don’t you think we should work on that first before anything else?”
“But…we could work on communication all the time if we’re together 24/7.” Despite his pout, you knew he wasn’t totally serious. Although you were sure it was going to come up again.
“Alright, you maniac,” you said fondly. “Take me to bed.” Jungkook’s chest rumbled happily as he lifted you up and wrapped your legs around his trim waist.
It wasn’t a long walk to his bedroom, but the exhaustion of the past week caught up to you and the gentle rocking of his steps lulled you into a serene state. Not quite asleep, but not quite awake either. You were aware when Jungkook placed you on his bed, practically engulfed in his scent. The last thing you remember before falling asleep was the words Jungkook pressed into your hair has he slid in behind you.
“Love you forever, my darling girl.”

i was wondering how bad influence! jk and oc started interacting? like what made them start talking
[ ! ] this dabble is a prequel to “bad influence”
— words; 1.6k
~
Your professor was looking at you with expectation, the small piece of paper hanging between his fingers like the sword of Damocles over your head. You were staring at him in silence for a few seconds now, and the whole situation was starting to get awkward.
“So,” he pressed on, dangling the paper in front of your eyes. On it, the name and phone number of one of your classmates. “What do you say?”
When he asked you to stay after class, you expected it would be something related to tutoring. Your professor had mentioned it in passing a few times before, so it wasn’t exactly a surprise when he told you he had found you someone who really needed your assistance. You were beaming with joy for precisely a minute and twenty one seconds until he revealed the name of your student.
Jeon Jungkook.
Before you had any chance to muster an excuse for why you couldn’t — under any circumstance — get close to someone like that, even less tutor him, your professor already had his card up his sleeve. “It’ll be good for your curriculum.”
And you said yes in a heartbeat.
~
Jungkook was predictable. You knew that he would be late (after all, his cringy bad boy persona would never allow him to follow one single rule in his life), you just didn’t know it would be almost two-hours-late. By the point that you saw that hurricane in human form walking into the library, you had already finished your homework for the entire week.
He had the nerve to smirk at you, and you swore an oath to yourself that you wouldn’t present him with the irritation he was expecting. And you didn’t — with all the patience and kind-heartedness that your parents had pushed down your throat your entire life, you put on your best commercial smile and greeted him like he was just in time.
“Well, now that you’re here, let’s start with the basics and go over some defense cells.” You tugged the heavy Immunology book towards you, quickly flipping the pages towards the chapter that you had chosen for that first session. Jungkook had already taken his typical slouched position on the chair next to you, looking like he was about to slide down to the carpeted floor. “I’d like to know how familiar you are with it, though. Can you start by telling me about the types of lymphocytes?”
He chuckled, running one hand through his hair. “I have no idea what that shit is.”
You took a deep breath and ignored the irritation that was building up on your stomach. You didn’t know how someone could be so indifferent about everything. “Well... that’s why I’m here,” you managed to keep your voice cheerful.
He raised his eyebrows. “You’re here because you wanna get paid, princess. No need to play the Good Samaritan.”
You thought about telling him that you weren’t getting paid, but the idea wasn’t the best one. He’d probably mock you even more for wasting your Friday afternoon tutoring in the name of your curriculum. Not that he knew the importance of that, anyways.
“This is some bullshit.” Jungkook rested his head on his crossed arms, lying over the table, pushing away your pens and notebooks as he did so. His black hair fell over his features as he grouchily mumbled out, “I don’t even know why I chose this class, it has nothing to do with my major.”
You were surprised that he was even majoring in something, instead of just frequenting the campus as an excuse to meet girls. “Well, I can't answer that for you, can I?” You asked, tapping on his book’s hardcover. That little antibody drawing was staring at you in a silent mockery, wondering if you’d be able to make him study — or even care about anything. “But I can help you with the rest. Now, come on. Types of lymphocytes.”
His eyebrows came down to form a confused frown. Jungkook would’ve probably given you the same reaction if you had just called his mother all the filthy names you could think of. “You’re really trying to teach me?” He asked. “Like, for real?”
You sighed. The time you taught your little cousin how to read was less frustrating than that. “It’s kind of my job as a tutor, you know.”
Jungkook rose from his position and leaned back against the chair, his arms crossing before his chest. Beneath them, his strong pecs stressed against the fabric of his white shirt, but you refused to look. “You know that you can just pretend to teach me, I can pretend to learn, and you’re gonna get your credits anyways, right?” He asked as if you were the stupidest person he had ever met. “You don’t need to actually put in the effort, princess. Especially since I don’t give any fucks about immunology.”
If he called you that stupid pet name one more time, you swore you were going to knock him out. “Well, I’m already here, I’d rather do things right.”
He scoffed, throwing his head back and rolling his eyes. “God, you’re so booooring,” he groaned. “Don't you have some charity work to do or something?”
“I’m doing it right now.” You smiled. “I can see that you’re really trying to fail this class, don’t get me wrong. But I’m just trying to do my job—“
“Boooooring,” he sang, louder than the librarian would ever allow if she was close enough to hear him. Jungkook looked back at you, his eyes narrowed. You couldn’t really tell if he was disgusted or just annoyed. “Why do you even care? It’s just some stupid class, it doesn’t even matter. I’ll tell the professor you taught me everything and we can both go home.”
“I can’t do that,” you said, firm.
“Why not?”
“First of all, because that’s wrong,” you told him. Just as you were about to say that, also, his unavoidable horrible grades would make clear that he hadn’t learned shit (which would make you look like a clown instead of a tutor), his laugh ruptured your sentence.
“Oh, come on. You’re kidding me.” He smiled brightly — not a tender one, of course, but one full of perverse mockery. You had never met someone as condescending as Jungkook, and he was managing to push every single button inside you. “That’s wrong? What are you, six?”
You frowned. “You’re the child here, just trying to find a easy way out instead of putting in the eff—“
“What are your dreams, princess?” He interrupted again, leaning his head to the side. You really, really, really hated him. “Wait, no, let me guess. A family, a suburban house, and a dog? A nine to five? Something like that? Having your husband cheat with the babysitter before you’re forty?”
Some part of you knew that he was just trying to make you so angry that you would give up on tutoring him. Jungkook didn’t know that you wouldn’t throw away your obligations so quickly, but he was able to make you mad enough to get an answer. “What are yours?” you spat, kindness long forgotten. “Remaining unemployed, talentless, mentally trapped in your twenties, and fucking desperate milfs for money until you die from an early overdose?”
If your priest had heard you talk like that, he would most surely faint.
Jungkook, however, didn’t seem so horrified. In fact, his disgusted smile quickly morphed into a diverted one, a chuckle leaving his lips. “Uh,” he mumbled. “Interesting.”
The shame from your previous outburst was starting to weigh down on you, but you managed to keep it undercover. “What?”
“Didn’t know you had a mouth on you,” he said, clearly entertained. In a way, you were glad that he hadn’t taken your words to heart, because he could probably snap you in half if he was feeling like it. “You’re always so shy and shit. I thought you were going to cry.”
“I’m not shy,” you spoke, defensive. You had gotten close to shedding a couple tears, but he didn’t need to know that. You hated confrontation. “I just don’t wanna talk to people like you unless I’m obligated to.”
He raised his eyebrows — a silent threat. “People like me?”
There was a second of hesitation from your part that Jungkook didn’t miss. “Yes.” You couldn’t hold his piercing gaze. As much as Jungkook was annoying the shit out of you, you didn’t actually want to have a full-blown argument with him. Especially on university grounds. “People who can’t even tell me about lymphocytes. Now, are you done with your victimization session? Can we start, or do you wanna tell me more about how you’re burning college money and you are so superior because of it?”
He chuckled and looked you up and down — actually looked at you. Weirdly enough, it felt like the first time that Jungkook was actually seeing you, and not the empty shell of a stereotype that he had built for you in his peanut-sized brain. “You’re really trying here, aren’t you?” He asked.
You didn’t know if he was talking about the tutoring session anymore, but you decided not to bite. “Is that a sin now?” And, before he could say anything else, you added, “Page 124. Come on. Unlike you, I don’t have all day to sit around doing nothing.”
He smirked. “You’re more fun than you look, princess.”
And, for the first time, Jeon Jungkook wasn’t predictable — he actually opened the book on the page you told him to.
~
One hour later, he was already dozing off, a small puddle of saliva accumulating on top of his chaotic notes. Still, you counted that as a victory.

I hope you’re having a great day Lena! I was just wondering if we could have any fluff facts about the shepherds as a whole! Like fun tidbits of how they interact with each other, what some of them do if they have the same day off, does anyone host weekly game nights?? I hope that makes sense! Reading the recent short story on Patreon I love seeing how the characters interact with one another and now I need moreeeeeee🙏
Ooh, great question! I’m feeling curiously tapped dry at the moment, so I’ll probably have to reblog this as more ideas come to me; I’m so happy you’re enjoying the short story, btw!! 💖
Some group dynamic headcanons:
Many of them steal clothes from each other. Briony wears a cute sweater of Shery's (she asked), Ayla gets cold so she just takes one of Red's jackets from a chair (she didn't ask), Chase gives Tallys his scarf one day and Riel corders Trouble a pair of gloves from a fashion line he favors because his old ones are holey and they get into an argument about it... This leads to some recruits mistakenly thinking that the captains are all involved in some sort of mass relationship because they keep walking out of each other's rooms wearing each other's clothes. (The recruits believe a lot of really dumb stuff, if you couldn't tell. They LOVE gossip. It's like a competitive sport in the compound)
There is a weekly card game night, initiated and organized first by Chase, but it grows bigger over time, with snacks, cakes, drinks, and new games being procured! I'd actually say it's more like every ten-fourteen days or so than on any set weekday, and is typically proposed by anyone who senses that they or others need to blow off some steam. They all tend to meet in a private common room and either just chill and play some card games and casually drink and listen to music, or they get LOUD and raucous and play more risque non-card games (like Question or Command/Truth or Dare). The loud nights are more like once a month or bi-monthly, though! They take place in the captains' lounge so dumb recruits don't get to join! It's rare that they're in there all doing the same thing, though: maybe half will be at the table playing card games while others will be broken up into smaller groups, say arm-wrestling in the corner or playing chess at the smaller table or reading, but they're all there! Game nights are almost never held unless everyone is there, which is extraordinarily difficult to schedule, but they all make an effort to make it happen--even those who first had to be dragged into it, like Blade or Riel!
Speaking of chess games, Red and Riel have a standing game where they complete at least four more moves every night that they're around and able to meet up after dinner. Planning their next move helps them both break up the monotony of the day, and it's something they enjoy immensely. However, whenever he gets called away on a mission, Red gets sick with worry that Riel's been cooking up all sorts of schemes while he's been gone, so sometimes on the road he has, like, a schematic that he doodles on trying to anticipate Riel's next move, and it's very nerdy and ramps up in joking Anxiety. Riel, graciously, goes easier on him on nights after he comes back from long trips, though he denies it
Similarly, Blade and Trouble have a standing training session once a week where they just beat the crap out of each other. This is generally where they do the majority of their talking
Briony and Ayla first had an agreement that they would get the other one up if they overslept (Briony tends to be the one who oversleeps while Ayla is better about being up at dawn, but Ayla is really grouchy if she went to bed late and Briony is the only one who can handle her), which morphed into doing runs and sparring together at dawn and having breakfast frequently!
The girls have a standing spa night once a month where they all get together in a room (usually Shery’s) and basically do sleepover stuff and relax and chat and catch up for a few hours. This also sometimes involves showing each other new outfits that they bought that month! Sometimes there are even group baths in the big common bath, but these are rarer because Shery is shy and Tallys doesn’t like sitting in hot water getting pruny
Chase and Trouble drag Red and Halek to go drinking with them around once a month; sometimes Blade is persuaded to go if Trouble can get the drop on him and punch him hard enough to wind him. It’s complicated
Riel and Shery, of course, have tea together once a week! You’re not allowed if you can’t bring a chill vibe (Riel’s rules). Tallys, Lavinet, Halek, and Red are occasional visitors; Briony is allowed on a good day. Blade would be allowed but he has 0 interest
Similarly, Lavinet hosts a weekly brunch, either in a courtyard or at some restaurant in town! Typically it’s a girl thing and Ayla, Briony, and Shery are the most consistent attendees, but Chase has snuck his way in there often, and Riel, Halek, or Red pop up occasionally!
Tallys and Halek cook together! It’s not all that often and doesn’t seem to have any set way of materializing--it just happens somehow--but they both very much enjoy it! Sometimes they cook dinner for the whole group and have a little dinner party that they both secretly get excited for! Sometimes Shery bakes the dessert!
Riel noticed that Tallys has a little garden that she spends time weeding, so he sends gardening tools or special seeds when he thinks she needs them and she leaves baskets of vegetables or vases of flowers in his office. All of this is done without exchanging a word
Chase sporadically teaches Briony acrobatics and things like tightrope walking, just randomly whenever they’re both idle. She teaches him how to gut people with bare fists and also sometimes they paint!
Caine caught Red grazing in the pantry late one night and now it’s like a Thing where they pass each other in the kitchen and Red sort of just looks the other way re: Caine’s bedtime and what on earth he’s doing up so late and Caine doesn’t tell anybody that Red is just absent-mindedly eating a loaf of bread at 2 AM because he was too busy working to remember to eat dinner. It’ll be like, “there’s some turkey leftover from dinner in the cold box” “oh hey, Caine. thanks. ...so, what’s the news from the midnight watch tonight?” “i’m going to go hunt ghosts on the seventh floor with my friends!” “...okay! have fun!”
Lavinet has a monthly shopping trip where she updates her wardrobe, and it is very common for others to accompany her around the city and just shop while they drop! Common partners are Shery, Briony, Riel, Chase, and once memorably Blade, who didn’t know what he was in for!
Trouble and Ayla are wildly competitive and keep arm-wrestling each other for money; this becomes a bi-weekly sporting event that is eagerly attended and bet upon by third parties
There was ONE group karaoke night. ONE. Most of them got so blackout drunk that they swore to never do it again. Even now, several of them go green whenever they hear a popular bar song (“Don’t Piss Where You Plant Your Flowers”) being sung, especially badly
The game of "telephone" gets really bad in their group. It's like, Shery will say to Briony that she's worried because she thought Riel looked a bit peaky and feverish. Briony will say in passing to Trouble that Riel is getting sick and Shery is worried. Trouble will say to Tallys that Shery is worried sick because Riel is bedridden. Tallys will be mixing herbs and Chase will ask what for and Tallys will reply that Riel is sick, but because she's mixing herbs, Chase will surmise that the sickness must be quite advanced, and will later say, "Damn, have you seen Riel? Seems like he's really sick." Red will interpret this as "I have seen Riel for myself and have determined that he's extremely ill." At least four people will bust into Riel's room, expecting him to be on the verge of death, despite the fact that they saw Riel that morning. Riel will be fine and very annoyed at the intrusion.
They rarely go out as a group to bars and establishments outside of the compound (too chaotic as well as risky, for one thing, and also, recruits don't need to see their superiors like hanging out of bushes and dancing on tabletops drunk out of their minds, and also, "Mages can't drink" (lol)), but when they do deem it a worthy occasion (Trouble's birthday, say), the girls are very punctual when getting ready, and the boys are almost always extremely late due to various shenanigans (Chase forgot that he put a booby trap on Red’s door, covering Red with flour, or a cat somehow slips into Trouble’s room and steals, like, a detonator or an important key, and they have to go chasing it across the city). This has led to the girls coming late on purpose in order to even out their arrival, but mysteriously, this has only led to even later start times, meaning they often don’t get started until like 10 or 11 PM when the most well-intentioned souls meant to be in bed by midnight... that never happens, either!
One such night once led to them ending up on a ridge in the Sun’s Embrace, like a mile outside of the city, in order to watch the sun rise together, because hiking in the dark while blasted out of their minds sounded like a really good idea. They all made it, and the dawn was spectacular, but the moment was ruined when Tallys said softly, “It’s the beginning of a beautiful new day--” punctuated by Trouble abruptly throwing up in a bush and Riel just flat-out passing out

hello travelers! again, thank you for putting up with my inactivity, it’s been hard to write lately haha. anyways, i thought this would be something fun to post and for everyone to enjoy, whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day or not :) (note: this will probably be more fanon than canon so please bear with me, i’ll make it as canon as it can be :’) i also kept this pretty short, so hopefully that’s okay too,, and sorry for this being late haha—i wrote this very late at night so don’t mind any typos you find please)
much love,
~ anemo-chan <3
(The Playable) Genshin Impact Characters on Valentine’s Day (Romantically)
super romantic; gifts you a bouquet of flowers and takes you out to eat at a fancy restaurant/cooks for you.
Diluc
He is nervous. He’s never paid close attention to the countless amount of people who have lined outside the tavern to ask him to be their Valentine, only to be rejected. There was absolutely no way that he would turn to Kaeya for advice, so unfortunately this was something he would have to figure out for himself. He figures that it wouldn’t hurt to go traditional, so that’s what he does; he buys a large bouquet of roses (which he had to get from Donna, seeing that at the hours that he ended work were very late and Flora’s shop was not open at the time—yeah, that was not fun) and presents himself outside your doorway, to which he invites you to join him for a late dinner—which he makes!
Lisa
She leaves a letter on top of your nightstand, paired along with a singular rose. The letter states for you to meet her outside of Good Hunter, where you find her sitting at a table with a candle dimly-lighting up the surroundings. She greets you with a warm smile, gesturing for you to sit down—the two of you enjoy a candle-lit dinner as well as bolognese she specially requested for Sara to make for the two of you to enjoy together why does this remind me so much of Lady and the Tramp,,
Tartaglia
Oh boy. It’s always a fun time spending a holiday with him, seeing that it could go two ways; one, he would be too busy to celebrate it with you on the day of, and he would take you out the day after, or two—have a store’s entire line of merchandise presented to you outside your doorstep, in which a very, very smiley Tartaglia hidden within the pile (after all, he was the best present!) After you’re done moving all of the gifts into your house (it took up the space of your entire living room), he tells you to cover your eyes and follow him. He takes you to one of the most well-known restaurants in Liyue (which currently doesn’t have a name because it is very late here!), and insists that you order whatever you want, and however much you want.
Zhongli
Over the years, he’s witnessed many, many couples celebrate this holiday and every year he’s wished to do the same. He finds the perfect opportunity to do so when Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and boy does he plan it out for the two of you. He’s even made sure to have his wallet on him at all times—it would be extremely rude for you to have to pay if he happened to forget his wallet. He makes sure to stop by to pick up a bouquet of flowers, as well as a bottle of perfume (not in a bad way, just to clarify) from Ying’er’s shop that he recalled you liked. He makes sure to pick you up early from your work place to make sure you made it to your appointment on time; after all, being late to an appointment was similar to breaking a contract, no?
Tumblr media
surprises you with homemade sweets.
Fischl
Oh, she is so nervous—of course, she doesn’t show this. The entire week, she spent researching recipes to create a special batch of chocolate-dipped strawberries just for you—she even sent Oz to the nearby farms to “borrow” the freshest strawberries for the treat (the farmers were too scared to confront the talking bird who “borrowed” their strawberries, so luckily they got away with it). She dips them in a purple-colored chocolate (because what other color would she use, really?) and drizzles on a dark-chocolate syrup to top it off. She’s too shy to actually give it to you herself though, so she has Oz drop it off for her.
Ganyu
Even though she’s quite busy, she’s somehow found time to whip up a special batch of chocolate just for you! She shapes them into Glaze Lilies (which she found quite hard, which is why there are so few of them) and presents them to you in a neatly-sealed box. She’s quite modest when your eyes widen and tell her it’s the best chocolate you have ever eaten, claiming that she only followed a recipe, when she really made it from scratch.
Keqing
Like Ganyu, you have no idea how she finds time to create a perfect array of chocolates, which she made herself! However, with her tightly-packed schedule, she has to drop it off at your house in advance, to which you accept happily. She tried to decorate them with designs of cartoon-versions of your faces, but they’re a bit...messy. Nonetheless, they’re tasty, and to her relief, you enjoy them.
Mona
Somehow, she’s managed to scrape up enough mora to buy you a necklace; yes, a necklace, and a real one at that—none of that fake, costume jewelry stuff! She even added a pendant shaped like star, just so you could be reminded of her whenever you fiddled with it or even glanced at it. She’s quite flustered when she gives it to you, ignoring the way you ask how she managed to save this much mora to be able to buy something like this, changing the subject on how you should never-ever take it off (because it looks great on you.)
Noelle
One word: pancakes. (Have you seen the ones she makes for her special dishes? They’re frigging amazing) As a dutiful maid should, she wakes up especially early to prepare a homemade breakfast just for you, to which she serves to you just as your wake up in bed. The fluffy stack of pancakes are decorated with fruits cut up in heart-shapes, as well the words, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Y/N”, written neatly with chocolate syrup—it’s quite a sight to see, to be honest, and utterly delicious. Lucky you!
Xiangling
The day before, she tells you to meet her at the restaurant around noon. When you arrive, the restaurant is adorned with Valentine decorations, as well as a terrifying amount of food; she insists that she only made it for you, so you better eat up! Before she can show you the other dishes, the restaurant is suddenly filled with a strong, bitter smell—something burning. With a yelp, she runs into the kitchen, coming out a few minutes later with a tray of half-scorched cupcakes, their Gouba-shapes adorned with...a lot of burn marks. Oh well, it’s the thought that counts, doesn’t it?
Tumblr media
buys/makes a present for you.
Albedo
Without your knowledge, Albedo has been creating a collection of artworks throughout all the time you had spent together. The pieces include portraits of you, portraits of you and him (sucrose helped with this), as well as just random sketches of the little things that remind him of you, such as the bare, snowy-white terrain where the two of you first met, as well as its flora and fauna. If you request it, he’ll even make the painting come alive (literally), and the two of you run to Sucrose’s dwelling, who is very shocked to see the pair of you running from a Frosted Lawachurl when she peered out her window to see if she could pinpoint the sounds of distant screaming.
Amber
Is there anything better than a matching set of wind gliders? Not only that—they were homemade! She spent the last couple of weeks putting together a pair of gliders for the two of you, customizing them to your tastes (which she nailed!) She quite literally drags you to the nearest hill to test them out, and the two of you end up challenging each other on who can get back to the Knights of Farvonius Headquarters the fastest—spoiler alert: she did.
Barbara
Oh, she would make the cutest card for you—the envelope is decorated with cute stickers (some of them even had her face on it; there’s nothing like promoting merchandise, am i right? jkjks) She also pairs it off with a box of chocolates that she bought from Sara—however, what she didn’t know was that in the box was a special-edition spicy chocolate truffle. With your luck, that was the first one you chose—and boy, were you met a surprise (it was so bad that you were begging Barbara to use her Vision on you, which she refused of course). Fun times.
Chongyun
He’s real sweet. After his expeditions and commissions, he opens the freezer (yes he keeps them in there, don’t judge him) to an array of ice sculptures, shapes varying from flowers, hearts, and such—although it’s quite the simple gift, he’s put a lot of effort into them, even putting in the extra effort to cast a spell to make sure they would not melt; it’s all worth though, when he sees the absolutely giddy expression on your face, and the look of pure awe as you pick one up and study it closely, admiring all of the details and work that’s he put in.
Ningguang
She sends out informants to find out what you like, whether it be something that your gaze settled on for too long or something you’ve mentioned while talking to her—on the day of, you open your door to a mountain of gifts, with Ningguang herself peering out from behind it with a calm smile and a wave (which was the opposite of your reaction, because who has that much mora to purchase all of these gifts?!?)
Razor
He doesn’t have a clue on what the holiday until Lisa asks him if he’s planned something for the two of you during one of his lessons. When he shakes his head no, Lisa suggests that he make you something, to which he sets out on an adventure to do, looking for flowers and flower stems to weave into a pair of matching bracelets—they’re not the prettiest, but he is pretty proud of it; after all, it was his first time making something like that. He’s quite nervous to present it to you, afraid that you might not like it, but all feelings of worry melt away when you slide it on with a huge smile on your face, insisting that he wears his too.
Sucrose
At first, she considers gifting you a present that she created herself; of course, with her work being alchemy, she isn’t sure if that would be the safest option, despite being talented herself. And so, she resorts to buying a present for you—she is very picky with the present though, insisting that it should be perfect since she could not make one herself. She even consults Albedo when selecting some of the presents (he doesn’t help her unfortunately; he believes that she should figure it out herself haha). Like Razor, she’s quite nervous to give it to you, but lets out a huge sigh of relief as you thank her happily for the gift, wiping a bead of sweat from across her forehead (sucrose bby anything you give us would be perfect,,)
Tumblr media
whisks you away somewhere sentimental, where the two of you can enjoy a special date.
Beidou
It’s ungodly early in the morning when Beidou presents herself in front of your doorstep, announcing that you’ll be joining her and the crew on a special ride. She tugs you along beside her until you reach the harbor, where you are met with the sight of her ship adorned with streamers and banners, varying between shades of pink and red. Onboard, there is a table filled with goodies the crew collected and made, and boy do they look delicious. The group sets out to sea, and you take your place next to the captain, who even lets you steer the boat (momentarily, at least.)
Bennett
He takes you to meet his dads; yes, yes—he knows that it’s not the most romantic thing to do on a day dedicated to lovers, but he figures it’s just as important. Besides, they’ve been asking about you for quite a while—they even set up a small party within the Adventurer’s Guild, with the help of Bennett, of course. You spend the day listening to their old adventuring stories, as well as bits from Bennett’s childhood (poor boy is flustered from all the information his dads are spilling, but he’s still happy either way; after all, he’s with the most important people to him.)
Kaeya
He quite literally kidnaps you; one second you’re walking in the streets of Mondstadt on your way to work when suddenly someone grabs you by the waist and pulls you into an alley way (that sounds so creepy but i swear he means it in a good way). He only chuckles and shields himself with his arms as you punch him lightly, retorting that he scared you. He doesn’t care that the two of you have an overwhelming amount of work to do—after all, Valentine’s Day only comes once a year, right? Surprisingly, he doesn’t take you the tavern, but instead...Dawn Winery! Diluc received quite the surprise when he is met with the two of you standing outside his gates, with Kaeya requesting a wine/grape juice taste-testing. Yeah...you guys didn’t get any of that, but you did manage to snag a couple of grapes on your way out! Good for you!
Venti
You wake up in your bed, opening your eyes to see a very-smiley Venti laying beside you, chin propped up against his hand as he watches you yawn sleepily as you force yourself out of bed. You’re then presented with a handpicked-bouquet of Ceceilias, the freshest of the bunch, if he may add. You barely have time to thank him before he hoists you up in his arms and out of your dwelling, gliding over the city of Mondstadt as he whisks you away to Starsnatch Cliff, where he’s prepared a special performance just for you (and no, you don’t need to pay.)
Xingqiu
While he’s not the most romantic, he does have a clue on what people look for on Valentine’s Day; after all, that’s what cheesy-romance novels were for, right? Unbeknownst to you, he takes you on a date very similar to the one the main characters in his favorite novels partook in—and you don’t find out until you catch him peeking into the pages while you weren’t (you were) looking. Again, it’s the thought that counts—
Tumblr media
doesn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Jean
Sadly, she probably forgets about the holiday. She’s too busy holed-up in her office to notice the couples gathered up in the courtyard, sharing moments with their lover. It’s not until she walks out to take a breather that she notices the commotion—she immediately calls you over, apologizing frantically. Of course, to this you respond that’s it’s okay, but that you would much rather her take the rest of the day off to spend time together, to which she reluctantly agrees.
Xiao
“I do not have time to celebrate silly human traditions like that.” He would say as you bound up to him, exclaiming that it’s Valentine’s Day, the day where you can give sweets to your loved ones, and asking if he had someone special in mind to spend it with. He’s irked when your gaze falters and the grip on the object you’re hiding behind your back tightens—he only grows more irked as you mutter to yourself how you’ll give the chocolates you made to someone else. He scoffs loudly, avoiding your gaze as he lays out his hand in front of you to accept the chocolates (just because he doesn’t celebrate the holiday doesn’t mean he can’t get jealous!)

Note
i saw you did an nsfw alphabet for wannabe challenge so i was wondering if you could do one for tears of themis? i'd love to see one for artem
Hell yeah, alphabets are the only nsfw stuff I'm good at writing
AO3
Artem NSFW Alphabet
A = Aftercare (What they’re like after sex)
-Stills inside/beside you for a moment while you both catch your breath, then he’s combing through your hair, peppering your body with loving kisses.
-Has wet wipes/tissues to help clean you up at arm's length, so if let’s be honest, when you whine about not wanting to leave his side just yet, he can help you clean up.
-If you’re still clingy after a while, this man will carry you to the bathroom to get the rest of the way cleaned up.
-If you find yourself in a more dominant role in the bedroom sub Artem? It’s more likely than you think be prepared to pepper that man with so much love and care.
B = Body part (Their favourite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
-His favorite body part of himself is his eyes. They’re a nice color, but I don’t think he thinks about his appearance too much.
-As for you, would it be cliche to say your brain?
-While your beauty was what attracted him first, your mind is what really sealed the deal.
-Your mouth is a close second, because it helps you voice your thoughts in that beautiful voice of yours and, I mean, if you wanted to give him a blow job too he wouldn’t be complaining…
-Is an ass man.
C = Cum (Anything to do with cum basically… I’m a disgusting person)
-Is hesitant on deciding where to cum.
-He thinks cumming anywhere in/on you would not be a very pleasant experience for you.
-But in the heat of the moment, he’ll probably end up cumming inside you if he’s wearing protection, or on your thighs/ass if he’s not.
-When he cums, whether it be in you or on you, he’s grabbing you a tissue when he comes down from his high to clean you up.
-If you swallow his cum he’ll be a little disgusted, but a lot turned on.
D = Dirty Secret (Pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
-Has masturbated in his office after you’ve left on multiple occasions.
-Sometimes the perfume you were wearing was extra enticing, sometimes what you were wearing made you look extra hot, and sometimes your presence alone is enough to get him hot and excited.
-Is mostly ashamed about the times he did it before you two were dating because it felt like an intrusion of your privacy.
-Once Celestine came to his office right after he finished and he was so mortified that she’d somehow be able to tell that he did something. She knew something was up because of how much he was blushing, but she didn’t know what exactly
E = Experience (How experienced are they? Do they know what they’re doing?)
-Big old virgin
-I’m not even saying that to be mean plus being a virgin isn’t bad it’s just true.
-Sure, his lack of experience may be a bit of a hindrance at first, but he’s a clean slate.
-He’s not gonna be doing some weird thing with your clit because a girl he was with before liked that.
-Train him to perfectly pleasure you, and, trust me, he’s a fast learner.
F = Favourite Position (This goes without saying. Will probably include a visual)
-Your first few times together he only did missionary, because, while he knew there were other options, he didn’t know how to initiate them.
-As he got more experience, however, he grew to absolutely love doggy style.
-Loves your ass, so it’s an obvious choice. Plus, if he’s extra flustered, he can easily hide it.
-Grips your ass extra hard while kissing your neck and back. If he’s feeling extra brave, expect a few whispers about how good you feel.
G = Goofy (Are they more serious in the moment, or are they humorous, etc)
-He has his goofy moments, but most of the time he’s 100% serious.
-Whether it be because he’s concentrating on learning how to pleasure you correctly, or, when he’s gained a bit of experience, just concentrating on both of your pleasure.
-I feel like as you guys get closer, however, an awkward moment may turn into a brief bout of giggles shared between the two of you before continuing.
H = Hair (How well groomed are they, does the carpet match the drapes, etc.)
-Shaved himself completely when you two started dating.
-Was convinced you’d be disgusted by any hair down there. My poor insecure baby
-When he gets more comfortable around you, he’ll let it grow out, but he still trims it to keep it neat.
-Carpets match the drapes.
I = Intimacy (How are they during the moment, romantic aspect…)
-Is a whore for a sexy, romantic atmosphere.
-I’m talking rose petals, candles, and a couple of glasses of non-alcoholic wine.
-Wanna have the most romantic love-making session imaginable? Set all of that up for him instead of the other way around.
-He’ll be so in love with you at that moment he’ll have no choice but to give you the best orgasms you’ve ever had.
J = Jack Off (Masturbation headcanon)
-Before meeting you, he jacked off maybe once or twice a week, and it was more of something he had to do than something he wanted to do.
-When he met you, he thought you were the most attractive person he’d ever seen, so his sex drive and, naturally, his masturbation sessions increased.
-Increased to every other day, maybe every day. He tried to not think of you during these times as he felt it was an invasion of privacy emphasis on tried.
-After finally getting together with you, his sessions have decreased back down to once or twice a week.
K = Kink (One or more of their kinks)
-Likes having sex in his office, but that’s the most public space he’ll do it in.
-Also loves it when you’re slightly dominant on him.
-Doesn’t want to do any of the more kinky stuff, tying him or you, depending on his mood with a tie is about as far as he’ll go.
-But just take charge, he loves it.
L = Location (Favourite places to do the do)
-Can’t go wrong with the good old fucking in bed. It’s easy, comfortable, and you guys can take as long as you want.
-Get him riled up at work by wearing something that beautifully shows of your ass, or make sure he knows you’re wearing that pair of panties you know he loves or, fuck it, no panties at all he’ll polietly ask you into his office so he can fuck your brains out.
M = Motivation (What turns them on, gets them going)
-Loves when you assert yourself, especially at work.
-Get all confident during a trial because you know you’re going to win? That’s all the motivation he needs.
-Does not help his productivity at all, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
-Expect to fuck after a trial, extra hard if you won.
N = NO (Something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
-No threesomes/group sex.
-It’s not even because he’ll get jealous okay maybe a bit of that but you were his first and only. Everything he’s learned about sex has been about specifically pleasuring you, he wouldn’t know where to begin when having sex with other people.
-He’s more than content with you being his one and only.
O = Oral (Preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc)
-Not skilled at the beginning like all things sexual, but he’s a fast learner.
-Good communication is key here, as it is in all aspects of sex with Artem. Guide him to where you want to be pleasured, praise him when you really like what he’s doing, and give him some delicious moans and he’ll be a pro at fucking you with his tounge alone in no time.
-Is too shy to ask for you to go down on him, and will insist you don’t have to when you try to initiate it.
-Ignore him and do it, the noises you draw from him are absolutely worth it.
P = Pace (Are they fast and rough? Slow and sensual? etc.)
-Starts off at a weird middle ground sort of pace, not fast and not slow.
-Is fond of slow and sensual when he grows more experienced, but will occasionally get rough with you.
-That usually happens when he gets a bit too jealous of a guy who got a bit too close to you for your liking.
Q = Quickie (Their opinions on quickies rather than proper sex, how often, etc.)
- doesn’t really have a choice in the matter at the beginning, mr. 30 seconds (sorry Artem)
-For real, he prefers longer love-making sessions, but if you’re teasing him in the office a quickie will ensue.
R = Risk (Are they game to experiment, do they take risks, etc.)
-Grows more confident the more the two of you have sex.
-He does like fucking in his office, so he likes a bit of risk, but there being too many people in the office, or the chance of Celestine walking in at anytime, Artem would much rather feign working on a case and take you home.
S = Stamina (How many rounds can they go for, how long do they last…)
-At first, like most virgin boys, his stamina is basically nonexistent.
-Let him take his time, he’ll get to fucking you until the sun rises in no time at all.
T = Toy (Do they own toys? Do they use them? On a partner or themselves?)
-Has never thought about getting one for himself when his hand does the job well enough.
-Is very open to using toys on you in the bedroom, especially when he’s feeling insecure about his ability to please you which happens often, scream his name and make him forget those insecurities.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
-Not a teaser in the slightest.
-You want something specific in the bedroom? He’s already doing it, you barely have to ask.
-On the flip side, sort of loves it when you’re unfair to him.
-Just barely touch him and stop at the brink of his orgasm, he gets a sick sort of pleasure from that.
-It also helps him gain more control over himself in the bedroom, so it’s a win-win.
V = Volume (How loud they are, what sounds they make)
-May try to stay quiet, after all, in all the porn he’s watched which isn’t a lot because I feel like watching it makes him feel uncomfortable the man is always basically silent.
-That does not work out for him, though. He gets so overwhelmed with pleasure that he can’t control what his vocal cords are doing.
-Gains a bit more control over it over time, but he realizes you like his moans, so he stops trying to keep them at bay.
W = Wild Card (Get a random headcanon for the character of your choice)
-Is a total switch.
-Can be pretty dominant at some times see his atmospheric card
-But I can totally see him wanting you to dom him sometimes. Loves seeing you dominate the court, if you bring that energy to bed, oh boy is he like putty in your hands.
X = X-Ray (Let’s see what’s going on in those pants, picture or words)
-He’s of average girth and slightly above average length. Has a nice, thick vein that runs the length of his penis.
-Uncut.
Y = Yearning (How high is their sex drive?)
-Has a very active imagination how else would he become such a great lawyer?
-And while that helps him out in his work, anything about you can really set him off.
Z = ZZZ (… how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
-Is out like a light
-Especially the first few times, his body doesn’t know what hit him.
-But even after a while, he works so hard that the moment he has the chance to fall asleep, his body is taking that chance.
-Make sures to stay up long enough to get cleaned off and help you clean yourself up.

Dating High School Blackpink
Jisoo
Tumblr media
The valedictorian
She’s by far the most ambitious girl in school
All the high school drama couldn’t be more unimportant to her
She’s only focused on her studies
And on making her report card look better by joining strategically clever extracurriculars
She only keeps a small number of friends really close
Although she still treats the other students politely and helps them out wherever she can (resulting in her being the class president every year)
But she never really lets any of them close
That’s why you were really surprised when you learned that you had caught her attention
You had been in love with her ever since you started high school
But you had never dared to talk to her because she’s not so lowkey scary
There had been countless others who had tried to woo her
Because despite being a huge nerd, her beauty and unapproachability intrigued everyone
No one ever had a chance with her though
She simply ignored their advances or politely turned them down
So you didn’t even bother to talk with her
But one day in class, she came to talk with you
Your teacher had told you to find a partner for your final project
And suddenly Jisoo popped up in front of you
“Do you want to be my partner?”
Her question had totally caught you off guard and you stared at her with an open mouth
After embarrassing yourself for another painful minute, you eventually managed to shake off your trance and accepted her offer by simply nodding your head
“Ok, great. Meet me in the library after your classes end.”
Without awaiting your answer, she walked away but you wouldn’t have dared to disagree with her anyways
Therefore, you nervously made your way to the library after your classes had ended
Jisoo was already sitting at one of the tables, waiting for you with her school supplies neatly placed in front of her
She didn’t waste any time before starting with your project
Although she seemed to be trailing off several times while you were working
“He was involved with the Medici. They are from Italy. Do you like Italian food?”
You hadn’t expected her to ask you such personal questions, but you didn’t question her method and answered everything without hesitation
It wasn’t until two weeks later that you just weren’t able to ignore Jisoo’s weird behavior any longer
You had wondered right from the start why she had asked you for daily meetings although she seemed to know everything about the project already
Your confusion reached its peak on your last meeting one day before the deadline
Jisoo was completely out of it, fidgeting about on her chair and rambling about random things
“Are you ok? Are you nervous because of the project?”
You asked concerned but Jisoo immediately shook her head
“No, we’ll get an A. Do you want to go on a date with me?”
She blurted out, managing to catch you completely off guard
But you couldn’t say that you didn’t find her straightforwardness extremely attractive
Therefore, you -of course- said yes
The two of you agreed that she would pick you up at seven the same day
She ended up arriving five minutes early at your house and introduced herself to your parents (because she’s a classy girl), managing to woo them in a matter of seconds
After you had left your house, she managed to surprise you another time
You had thought that she would go with a safe choice -having dinner or watching a movie- but instead, she took you stargazing and prepared a fancy picknick with homemade food
And you fell for her even harder, so you didn’t hesitate when she asked you for a second date...and then a third and then a fourth...
On your fourth date she finally confessed to you that she had been in love with you forever
But just like you, she had been too shy to tell you
When the teacher had asked you to pick a partner though, she had decided to grab the chance
So she had used the two weeks that you had to work together to find out more about you and to plan the perfect dates (which she had clearly nailed)
You were completely enraptured by her confession
Therefore, you didn’t even need to think when she asked you to make your relationship official
And ever since, you are a dream team
You are a well-balanced couple
Although Jisoo is still very focused on her studies, she never neglects you
She always makes sure to have enough time for you and never stops being the most charming person on earth
Even though you are already hers, she still takes you on fancy dates and flirts with you as if she still needed to woo you
“Excuse me? Have we met before? I feel like I’ve seen your face before... Oh yeah, I remember now. It was in the dictionary next to the word ‘gorgeous’!”
She will hit you with pick up lines like that out of the blue
You always roll your eyes because of her cheesiness but secretly, you enjoy it
Jisoo also helps you to study
You had never been a terrible student, but sometimes you lack motivation
Your girlfriend has plenty of ways to motivate you though
“I will give you a kiss for every exercise that you solve correctly.”
So, since you started dating Jisoo, your grades had gotten exponentially better
In return for your girlfriend’s assistance, you help her to ease up a bit
You force her to accompany you to parties and to go out with her friends more often
She always whines, but in the end, she’s grateful that you managed to lure her out of her room
Everyone else is jealous of your perfect relationship
Never had the two of you ever been caught fighting
You even got voted first in the category ‘Couple who’s most likely to get married first’ in the yearbook
Because you just look right together
Although Jisoo isn’t a big fan of PDA and at most, allows you to hold her hand in public, the two of you still manage to cause some agitated whispers every time you walk through the hallways together
Everyone simply wants to know how you managed to woo her
But just like Jisoo doesn’t care about the rumors about others, she doesn’t care about the rumors about herself either
She’s perfectly content with everything that she has
And you are perfectly content with everything that you have too
Jennie
Tumblr media
The rich girl
She’s by far the most popular girl in school
Everyone who’s befriended with her is considered a cool kid
Her clique frequently makes the hallways its catwalk
Because all her friends manage to significantly upgrade their school uniforms with expensive accessories
Especially Jennie looks like she stepped right out of Gossip Girl
Her look is usually completed by a headband, a shiny brooch, and the newest Chanel bag
The moment she steps out of her family’s Porsche in the morning, the head of every single person in the school turns around
There are only two kinds of people on the planet: people who want to be like her and people who want to be with her
You belong to the second kind
Ever since you had first spotted her, you were head over heels in love with her
But of course, you had never dared to talk with her, because you weren’t considered a cool kid
You just stole secret glances at her like all the other lovesick fools at school
Until the goddess of destiny decided to let you find a grain of corn one day
You had agreed with your friends that you would meet in the stadium to watch the soccer match of your school team together
As usual, however, they texted you shortly beforehand that they would be late
So you ended up sitting all by yourself in the stands, grumpily waiting for your friends to keep you company
Just when you thought that you had to be the unluckiest person on earth though, everything turned to the better
“Are you all by yourself?”
You instantly recognized her voice and whipped your head to the side in lightning speed
Jennie was standing next to you with her friends lining up behind her
You were so shocked that she had noticed you that you weren’t able to utter a single word
But Jennie didn’t seem to mind
“I wanna sit here, guys.”
She said to her friends over her shoulder who sat down obediently
“Hi, I’m Jennie. What’s your name?”
She flashed you the most beautiful smile that you had ever seen, making you blush profusely, but this time you were quick to respond to her question to stop making a fool of yourself
“Y/N!”
You blurted out breathlessly and Jennie’s smile grew even bigger
“Nice to meet you, Y/N! Here, cheer with us!”
She pressed a banner and some pom poms that her friends had brought into your hands before starting to cheer for your school team
You were still completely dumbfounded by the fact that the Jennie Kim was sitting next to you right now, but didn’t dare to disobey her wish
So you started cheering for your team too, causing her to grin at you happily
Till your friends finally decided to appear, you were almost feeling like a part of Jennie’s friend group
She had made sure to introduce you to the others and to incorporate you into their conversations
And to your surprise they were actually a lot more approachable than you had thought
If you were honest, they seemed to be fairly normal teenagers
(except when they asked you if you would also attend fashion week next month)
The evening flew by and when it was time to go home, sadness overcame you because you were sure that you would never talk to them again
But everything came differently the next day at school
“Y/N! Come here! Sit with us!”
As soon as Jennie had seen you entering the cafeteria, she waved you and your friends over
Perplexed, you stared at her, but your friends pushed you into her direction
Everyone in the cafeteria stared at you as you made your way over to the cool kids and started to whisper behind your back
But Jennie didn’t pay attention to anyone but you
She patted the seat right beside her and continued to eat as if it were just a normal lunch break
From that day on, your friends and you had fixed seats at the table of the cool kids
They always waved you over during lunch break
And also started chatting with you when you ran into each other in the hallways like you had always belonged to them
Especially Jennie always seemed to make an effort to see you as often as possible
You didn’t really think much of it at first
Until your friends couldn’t take your obliviousness anymore and told you that Jennie was having a crush on you
You laughed at their ridiculousness, but in the following weeks you noticed that Jennie truly always acted a bit shy around you
You began to doubt your certainty that the Jennie Kim could never be in love with you, and you became a nervous mess around her too
(It was pure torture to watch the two of you for everyone else)
So your friends hyped you up until you finally had enough courage and asked her out for homecoming
You had never seen a happier person in your life before
Jennie smiled with her whole face and instantly agreed
The two of you became the talk of the night
But once again, Jennie only had eyes for you
She even fled the coronation of the homecoming queen
Because she didn’t want to dance with anyone else
So the two of you stole away and talked on the stairs in front of the school instead
You talked all night until more and more students left the dance and you figured that it was time to bring Jennie home
But before you could stand up, she stopped you
“Wait, there’s actually something I wanted to do before we leave.”
Expectantly, you looked at her and to your surprise Jennie suddenly leaned in
Your lips met and you completely froze until she pulled away when someone bolted out of the door behind you
You stared at her in complete shock, but Jennie just smiled at you
“Ok, we can go now.”
She held out her hand to you and you took it speechlessly
Together you made your way back home with your fingers intertwined
When you looked to the side, you could see that Jennie was still grinning from ear to ear and you started to ease up
Like two Cheshire cats you walked through the city, giggling sheepishly every now and then when your eyes met
And you were sure that you had to be the happiest person on the planet
Ever since that night Jennie and you are a couple
And you are allowed to see more and more of her world, realizing that people just had way too much fantasy
Not even half of the rumors that circulate about her and her friends are true
Jennie is not at all that scary, arrogant rich girl that everyone always makes her out to be
She’s just a normal teenager who tries to survive high school
Everyone had just put her in a box, because of her family’s money
She doesn’t think that she’s superior to others because of her family’s money at all though
Although you do have to stop her sometimes from spoiling you too much
Because whenever she sees something that she thinks you could like, she simply buys it
And when you’re getting food together, she always wants to pay
But you convinced her at one point to alternate because you want to spoil her too from time to time
Although she doesn’t really want you to spend a lot of money on her
“If you want to spoil me, then give me endless cuddles.”
She usually says and who were you to disagree?
Generally, Jennie is someone who isn’t too shy to show her love for you publicly
She always makes sure to keep you close by her side
As soon as you are together, your bodies are attached to each other in some way
Either your girlfriend will hold your hand, interlink your arms, place her hand on your leg or sit in your lap
Your friends always tease you about it when you go out together
But Jennie couldn’t care less
She loves you with all her heart and she wants everyone to know that you’re hers
Chaeyoung
Tumblr media
The choir girl
She’s a sweetheart
Everyone knows her
And everyone loves her
Because she’s in a billion different clubs at school (she can’t say no...)
Cheerleading, prom committee, glee club, choir, creative writing club...
But her only real passion is music
In 99% of the cases when she’s not in class, she can be found in the choir room
Usually, she just strums away on a guitar or plays piano
Often she leaves the window open and her beautiful voice mesmerizes everyone on the schoolyard
The 1% of the time that she isn’t in the choir room, she can be found in the cafeteria
All the cafeteria ladies know her by name
And they are all whipped for her
She always gets an extra scoop or sometimes she even gets some special menu
And as her best friend, you enjoy the same benefits as well
You can’t remember a time that you weren’t with her
She’s your best friend ever since you can think
The two of you live in the same street
And grew up playing together
Ever since elementary school you also attend the same schools
So at one point in your live it literally seemed like you were seeing each other 24/7
That’s why you don’t really know when your relationship had changed
It was more of a creeping process
Even as children you liked to pretend that you were a married couple when you were playing
It was also normal for the two of you to hold hands wherever you were going
Therefore, you can’t really tell when you turned from friends to lovers
Neither of you were simply ever interested in anyone else
And when you moved on to middle school together, everyone assumed that you were a couple
And you didn’t bother to correct them
It wasn’t until the end of middle school though that you actually kissed for the first time
You were having one of your many sleepovers
And all the pent-up uncertainty and emotions that both of you had been feeling finally reached their limit
So when you were facing each other on your bed and Chaeyoung’s gaze flickered to your lips, you just leaned in
It was just a short and sweet peck on the lips
But when Chaeyoung giggled happily afterwards, it didn’t fail to make a million butterflies erupt in your stomach
And you knew that this definitely would not be the last time
Since then you are officially a couple
Although you actually spend less time together ever since you transferred to high school
Because both of you have quite busy schedules
That did not change the importance that you have in each other’s lives though
Chaeyoung is still the first person that you tell every important and not so important thing in your life and vice versa
And both of you are still completely uninterested in anyone else
Although there are of course a lot of jocks who want to woo Chaeyoung because she’s the captain of the cheerleading squad
But she is always quick to turn everyone down
Managing to break a lot of hearts in the process
Because she’s very bad at hiding the disgust in her face whenever someone flirts with her
So you usually laugh away all the advances of her admirers
Plus, most students know that the two of you are dating anyways
After all, you are one of those annoyingly cute couples
You have lunch together every day and wait for each other after school to walk home together
Chaeyoung also holds your hand at all times or interlinks your arms
So sometimes it seems like the two of you are magnets
And someone who doesn’t know you would probably think that you had just fallen in love
Because everyone can see that you’re completely crazy about each other
Especially when your girlfriend surprises you with small, sweet gestures
When you have a test, for example, she always makes sure to slip your favorite snack into your backpack
Or she leaves random cute notes in your locker when you have different classes all day long
In return, you always visit her at the choir room to bring her snacks when she forgets time once again
Often, you also study there instead of in the library, because you can never get enough of your girlfriend’s voice
That’s also why you would never miss one of her performances
No matter whether it’s a singing, dancing or reciting performance
You are her biggest fan
Although Chaeyoung always gets really shy when you praise her afterwards
But of course, you end up praising her even more, just to see her blush
When the two of you are not at school, you usually like to hang out at one of your houses
Often you have “study dates” which are not really used for studying though
You always plan to study, but end up doing other things instead
The longest time you had ever managed to stay focused was 15 minutes
It’s just too distractive for the two of you to be in one room
Usually you end up talking or making out all day long
So sometimes you don’t even bother to bring your books when you go to Chaeyoung’s house
Why should you study if you could have a picnic with your girlfriend and her cute puppy instead or watch some stupid variety show together?
Most of the time your procrastination isn’t too harmful for your report cards either
So neither of you feels too bad for not doing what you were supposed to
After all, time that you spent together is never wasted
Because even after all these years, you could never get bored of each other
Every moment that you spend together is special
Lalisa
Tumblr media
The troublemaker
The moment that you had met Lisa for the first time, you knew that she would turn your life upside down
She is not your average high school student
She is just there to have a good time
Theoretically, she is smart and talented enough to join countless clubs (like the Foreign Language Club)
But practically, that’s too much work for her
The same applies to sports clubs
It takes no genius to see that she’s athletic as hell
But she doesn’t like the pack behavior that comes with those clubs
The only activity that she had ever tried was cheerleading because dancing is her passion
But it was way too restrictive for her
She hated following the lame choreographies of her coach
Plus, there had been too much drama for her with the other girls
Many of them had been jealous because they couldn’t keep up with her
So, Lisa simply left the squad again
She just wants to get through school without any stress or drama
Although she unfortunately has the talent to frequently get herself in quite a lot of trouble
Her favorite offense is to fall asleep during her classes
And one of her gravest ones is accidentally blowing up the chemistry lab
She never means to cause trouble
But the frequency of her accidents has earned her a reputation as troublemaker
Therefore, it is no surprise that the two of you had met in detention for the first time
Your teacher had guided you to the gym where Lisa was already waiting
She had instantly caught your eye although she seemed to be a be a bit shy
“Lisa! Nice to see you here...again. You know the drill. Everything needs to be squeaky clean.”
Those were the words that the teacher had said before leaving Lisa and you alone
For a few awkward seconds, the two of you just stole sheepish glances at each other
But then Lisa eventually piped up
“What are you here for?”
She asked while grabbing a mop and starting to clean the old, smelly gym
“I punched a guy for stealing a kid’s lunch money.”
You replied casually, causing her to stare at you in surprise for a second
Eventually she managed to recover herself though and nodded impressed
“Dope.”
From that moment, the ice between the two of you was broken
And you started to chat while mopping the floors
The time flew by as you learned more and more about each other
You found that you had more in common than just your inclination to get yourself in trouble
Your taste in music was pretty similar and you could also not argue with Lisa’s choice of absolute must-watch movies
After a while, your punishment didn’t even seem so bad anymore
If you were honest, you were glad to be stuck in your school’s smelly gym right now
Subconsciously, you had even started to clean slower just so that you could spend more time with Lisa
But eventually, your teacher came back to set you free and it was time to part ways
Both of you hesitated to leave though so you figured that you should not forgo this chance
“Maybe we could meet up some day and watch some movies together?”
You asked Lisa as you stepped out of the gym and she looked at you with a wide smile playing on her lips
“I would love that!”
She responded happily and you could feel your heart fluttering in your chest
Quickly, you exchanged phone numbers before saying goodbye
The following days, you didn’t see Lisa at school though to your dismay
She also never texted
And suddenly you started wondering whether she had just given you her number because she didn’t want to be rude
You were already pretty sure of your theory when Lisa finally sent you a message after four days
That’s Lego
Attached to her short message was a picture of a kitten and you laughed because of Lisa’s randomness
But you couldn’t say that her strategy hadn’t worked
The ice was broken again and the two of you texted every day
You also met up at school and hung out between your classes
It seemed like Lisa had just been a bit shy in the beginning
Because now that you knew each other better, you could barely stop her from talking (not that you would have wanted her to anyways)
You also followed through with your plan to have a movie night
Although you didn’t really watch a lot of movies
At first, you got distracted by Lisa’s cats
Then you stumbled upon her impressive collection of photos that she had taken over the years
And finally, she tried to make fresh popcorn, but forgot to put a lid on
So, when you started with the first movie, it was already past 10 pm
Nevertheless, you considered the night a success
Rarely anybody on this planet had ever managed to make you laugh as much as Lisa did
And you loved that she had allowed you to see a part of her world that not everyone could see
Therefore, your first movie night was followed by countless others
You grew closer every time, but you still didn’t really know what the two of you were
So you gathered all your courage and asked Lisa one night
“What...are we?”
You were a little nervous because you didn’t know whether you would like her answer
But Lisa just kept slurping the ramen that she was eating as if you had asked a totally mundane question
“I’m your girlfriend, right?”
She replied nonchalantly while glancing over the pot at you, causing you to chuckle
“Yes. Yes, you are.”
Everything about your relationship simply exudes strong ‘chaotic neutral’ energy
When the two of you are together no one knows what to expect
Maybe you use your time efficiently and build a darkroom for Lisa or have a study marathon
But maybe you also drink 20 shots of espresso each to watch all Harry Potter movies in one sitting
Everyone who knows you thinks that you are a safety hazard together
But for some reason you still work perfectly fine
You’re both chaotic, but in different ways
So you balance each other out
And both of you also have the same goals
You don’t take school too seriously
But you still have big plans for your future, so you always make sure to have a decent report card
And help each other out when you are struggling
Because you believe in each other
You know that Lisa will be the most famous dancer one day
And she would drop everything at any time to help you achieve your dreams as well
Together, you are an unstoppable force
And you know it

“would you please put your tongue away” ; spencer reid
pairing: spencer reid (criminal minds) x f!reader
summary: spencer can’t handle how good you look in your dress. he also can’t handle another guy asking you to dance. 2760 words
a/n: taken from this prompt list :)
“…It’s highly inappropriate.”
Someone waves a hand in front of Spencer’s face and he’s brought back to reality – surrounded by people from every FBI department in a far too bright room with champagne that is certainly not worth the amount it costs and in a suit that is a little too tight.
“What?” He asks.
“I said,” Derek grins, “Would you please put your tongue away.”
Spencer raises an eyebrow at that, “My tongue is firmly in my mouth, Morgan.”
Derek gives a scoff. He wishes Emily was with them to attest, but she’s across the room, beside you, stuck in a conversation with some “important” person that Hotch made a point to tell the team to suck up to.
“If Y/N can’t feel your stare burning a hole in her back, when she turns and sees you drooling she’s sure to know you’re obsessed with her.”
In panic, Spencer wipes his mouth just in case he is in fact drooling. That gets a hearty laugh from Derek, and Spencer huffs indignantly, “I am not obsessed-“
“When you saw her all dressed up earlier you had to leave the room, Reid. That isn’t a platonic reaction.”
“Well,” He stutters, glancing over to you and scanning your bare back, “She looks- she-“
“She took your breath away, man. It’s okay.” Derek gives him a pat on the back and smirks at him, coughing to cover a chuckle when Spencer glares at him.
“And who is this majestic being that took Doctor Reid’s breath away?” It’s you, Prentiss and JJ trailing behind, delicately holding a champagne flute in your left hand and a business card in your right.
Spencer flounders, taken off-guard by your approach and the close-up view of you in your dress. He doesn’t know much about fashion, let alone dresses, but God do you look like something straight out of a movie. To him, you’re the embodiment of all the love poems and romantic monologues that his mother used to read him. He always wondered what the beauty all those writers saw looked like, and if he’d ever see something so celestial, and then you walked into his life.
He’ll never recover. Especially when you keep reminding him how perfect you are.
“Someone’s been networking,” Derek nods to the business card, noticing Spencer’s struggle and swooping in to save him. Derek loves to tease Spencer, it’s his favourite thing to do, but there’s always a time and a place, you know?
You fiddle with the card, “A little pretentious, but he mentioned having some paperwork trouble and I offered to help. I thought if I got in his good graces he’d help us keep the jet.”
Just then, the band at the back of the charity event plays a slow tune, everyone coupling up to head to the dancefloor. Before you or Spencer can react, Derek is dragging Emily away and JJ goes to find Will, but not before all three of them send some kind of subtle gesture to Spencer – Derek winks, Emily raises her eyebrows and looks between you and Spence, and JJ nudges him as she passes.
Spencer’s entire body locks up. He can’t do this. Whatever this is.
When he doesn’t move, you offer him your hand, “Would you care to dance, Doctor Reid?”
His body eases and he can’t help but smile because you’re you, “It would be an honour, Miss Y/N,” He laughs, gently wrapping his fingers around yours.
You tug him onto the outskirts of the floor – being in the centre is both of your worst nightmares – and Spencer’s other hand falls to the small of your back, pulling you close. You’re chest to chest, your arm falling in place around his shoulders, but even with heels on he’s still got some height on you. You sway to the music in perfect sync, like you’ve done this a million times, and your eyes subconsciously close from the comfort of being in Spencer’s arms and the feel of him against you.
You concentrate on your feet for a few beats, too shy to look him in his clear, brown eyes. When you finally look up to meet his gaze, you can’t help the soft smile that appears. He’s already looking at you.
Spencer returns it, smile equally as fond.
The lights of the room reflect in his eyes – it’s as if they’re twinkling, like stars, and it’s utterly mesmerising. For a second, you forget you’re at a fundraiser event, on business, surrounded by your team and people from all departments and all positions. You feel like you’ve been whisked away to some faraway land, maybe somewhere that isn’t filled with killers and evil, and you and Spencer are lovers simply enjoying the night and eachother’s company.
“You look beautiful,” Spencer whispers, as if he doesn’t want anyone else to hear you. You wonder if he feels the same way you do.
“Thank you. I was waiting for you to compliment me.” You tease.
“Oh? Does my compliment mean that much?”
You giggle nervously. You love when he teases you back, when he has this confidence that always surprises you.
“More than I’d like to admit,” You say, “But I did also spend all day getting ready, so I want my hard work appreciated.”
“Well,” Spencer swallows, eyes flickering to your collarbones and neck and everywhere on you, “Consider your hard work appreciated. Not just by me, either. I think I’ve got a lot of glares being shot at me right now.”
You break eye contact to survey the room. There’s definitely a good number of people staring at you, but you refuse to believe they’re all jealous of him. He looks dashing in his suit, hand-picked by Rossi himself, and you know you’re not the only one to notice. You see the beauties dotted around that keep checking him out.
Another ballad begins so Spencer keeps you close. He scans the side of your face, how your nose peaks and the makeup you’re wearing illuminates all of your features. He’s hopeless at makeup, too, but the colour of your eyeshadow(?) suits you perfectly. You always look perfect, he realises. Being ethereal comes naturally to you.
“Excuse me,” A voice interrupts.
Both of you snap towards him. Travis.
Travis works in.. a department. A stupid one, probably. Spencer thinks Travis sucks.
“Hi, Trav,” You smile. You like Travis – of course you do. You’ve known him longer than you’ve known Spencer, so how does Spencer stand a chance?
“Evening, Y/N. Evening, Spencer.” He gives a polite smile.
Spencer returns it with his jaw set.
“Could I steal you for a dance, Y/N? Just like during our graduation ball?” His eyes are hopeful, and Spencer looks at in you confusion. What graduation ball?
You agree shyly, “Sure, Trav. Is that okay, Spence?”
He doesn’t know why you’re asking him – you both know Spencer’s too socially awkward to say no. So he nods, gives a tight lipped smile, and sharply turns to walk straight towards the bar. He doesn’t want to see Travis gently grasp your hand and pull you close, just like he had done.
But he’s not jealous.
“Water, please.” Spencer says to the bartender.
Someone slides up beside him. He glances at the shoes – Italian leather – and he knows it’s Rossi. He’s standing with a whiskey in his hand and a pitying gaze.
Spencer takes a big gulp from his glass of water like it’s a shot of straight vodka.
“You know he’s gonna make a move on her.” Rossi announces. Spencer takes another gulp.
“What?”
“I overheard him and his friends. They were in the academy together, and after seeing her tonight he’s decided now it’s time to make a move. Even stopped me to ask if she was single because he saw how close you two were out there.” Rossi shrugs as he takes a sip of his drink, gaze burning into Spencer as he does it.
Spencer knows what he’s doing. He’s trying to rile him up, get his feathers ruffled, for him to, what? Fight Travis on the dancefloor? Run up and steal you?
“I’m sure…” He starts, slowly, “If someone, say, Emily, who disappeared outside, had a sudden emergency… Y/N would drop Travis in a second.”
Spencer looks at him. Rossi raises his eyebrows.
“Excuse me.” Spencer says.
Rossi grins as he watches Spencer almost charge towards you.
There’s a hand on your shoulder and you know it’s Spencer, and when you turn he’s out of breath.
“Emily-“ He pants, “I think she’s- she’s sick. She’s outside and asking for you.”
“Oh, God,” You gasp, hands immediately leaving Travis completely to instinctively grasp Spencer by his arms, something you’ve always done.
Spencer’s heart warms at your concern – of course you’re so genuinely concerned for one of your best friends. Could you be anymore perfect?
“Let’s go, Spence.” You glance at Travis, feet already moving, “Sorry, Travis, it was lovely to dance with you!”
Travis watches you flutter away, knowing very well that that was his once chance and he lost it. It doesn’t take a genius to work out that Spencer is lying – at least a little.
Travis could tell Spencer wasn’t happy when he asked if he could dance with you. The unimpressed look in Spencer’s eyes whenever they made eye contact solidified that.
Travis can’t blame him, if he’s honest.
Outside, the cold is starting to set in, but you’re too panicked to notice or care. Your head darts left to right, searching for Emily. You spot her, in her stunning red dress, and go to call for her. But then she laughs, head thrown back, and takes another sip of her drink.
She’s fine.
You turn to Spencer, confused, “I thought she was sick?”
He looks sheepish and you laugh as he says, “I may have told a little lie.”
“Spencer!”
“Sorry.” He doesn’t look sorry.
“Well why-“
“Since we’re here, why don’t we go look at the fountain? I saw you eyeing it when we arrived.”
You want to ask why he interrupted you and Travis, but you’re not given the chance. Spencer’s large hand holds the tip of your fingers and he gently pulls you towards the stone fountain, where it stands with several tiers and the soothing sound of running water. There’s a statute in the centre – a woman wrapped in some kind of shawl.
“My guess,” You say, arms crossing, causing Spencer to take a sharp intake of breath, “Is the statue is based on the forlorn sculptor’s lover.”
Spencer’s body deflates as releases a deep breath. He thought you were onto him and why he ruined your dance.
“Actually,” His hands move to emphasise his point, “One of the most common purposes of sculpture is in some form of association with religion-“
“Why did you interrupt Travis and I?”
Uh oh.
“Did I look uncomfortable?” You wonder, “Because I can handle myself, Spence.”
You tried to resist asking again. But something about what he did bothers you – if you didn’t want to dance with Travis, you would’ve said no or made an excuse to not have to. If you didn’t want to be around Travis, you would’ve walked away from him. No matter what, you could’ve dealt with it yourself. Does Spencer disagree?
He licks his lips out of nervousness, shakes his head and mumbles a, “No, that’s not it.”
You turn to face him. His hands are in his pockets and he’s staring at the ground as he shuffles his feet. Rossi will have a fit when he sees the shoes he hand-picked have marks on them.
“I needed to get you alone. I’m sorry.” Spencer squirms. He can’t make eye contact.
“What?” You ask, brows furrowed, “Why? Is something wrong?”
“He was..” He trails off and clears his throat, “He was gonna ask you out. I couldn’t- didn’t want to let that happen.”
Your confusion increases. So he does think you can’t handle yourself?
There’s a spark of frustration in you, then. You’ve dealt with being underestimated and babied basically your whole life and Spencer knows that. He also knows you’re a trained FBI agent that has saved his skin more times than you care to count – he knows better than anyone that you can handle yourself.
So what the fuck.
“I appreciate the concern,”
Spencer winces at your tone. This is… not going well. Not going how Spencer wanted it to, or planned. Not that he had a plan beyond getting you and Travis as far away from one another as possible.
“But I can guarantee I do not need you to loom over me and scare boys away, Spencer. You’re not my father.”
Your tone is biting and Spencer moves closer to placate you.
“That’s not what I meant, Y/N, I’m sorry that’s- I know you can handle yourself. Very well. I still have the scar from when you thought I was a robber in your house-“
“You shouldn’t have tried to sneak up on me, Spencer Reid-“
“Rossi overheard Travis saying he was gonna make a move on you and it was like I went on auto-pilot and I could hear the blood pumping in my ears and-“
“I can take care of myself, Spence.”
“I couldn’t let it happen because I want to date you.”
He looks at you then, gaze so intense you feel frozen where you stand. He continues.
“But I’m sorry if you were planning to say yes to Travis and I… came in and ruined it. Maybe you’re into him and I just… delayed the inevitable for no reason other than to humiliate myself.” He gives a tight lipped smile, rolling onto the tips of his feet and then back on the heel.
You let out a breathy laugh in disbelief. “I wasn’t going to say yes to Travis, Spence. It’d be pretty damn rude for me to date him when I very much like and want to date you.”
His eyebrows shoot up and he gives a toothy, hesitant smile, “Really?”
“Yeah, really.” You step closer. Spencer can’t take his eyes off you, not that he’s been able to at any point tonight, but now you can tell he can’t help but ogle at you.
It makes you feel fuzzy inside, that mix of excitement and nerves that you always get around Spencer.
“Well, what should we do about that?” He teases, but some anxiety shines through. He’s genuinely asking.
“Would it be okay if I kissed you?” You ask.
He sputters, “Uh- yes. That would be completely okay.”
“Well then,” You smile, “Come here.”
As if you’ve done it a million times, Spencer’s hands cup your face as he tugs you towards his lips. Your hands find his waist, softly gripping him as your eyes flutter shut and you feel Spencer’s lips for the first time.
Why does it feel so natural? So right?
Spencer has to pull back a couple of seconds later because he’s smiling so wide. You can’t resist and kiss his nose, and he giggles. He giggles.
God, you’re so in love with him.
Spencer glances at the statue standing at the top of the fountain.
“You think she’s angry that we’re kissing in front of her?”
You hum in consideration, “Definitely jealous. I mean, not everyone gets to kiss the most handsome guy at the ball.”
He can’t help but blush, and although you have a teasing tone you both know you genuinely mean it.
From where you’re standing you can still slightly hear the sound of the band inside – some kind of smooth jazz is being played now, nice and slow.
You turn and offer your hand to Spencer, just like before, “Another dance, kind sir?”
Spencer gives you a cheeky smile, “As long as you promise no Travis-like interruptions this time.”
He pulls you close, definitely closer than before as your lips nearly touch and you can feel his breath, and you rub the tip of your nose against his. “No Travis, no one, just us.”
“And the voyeur statue,” He gestures with his head towards the fountain.
You both look, and your hand leaves his shoulder to flip her off.
“Back off, hag.” You joke, and Spencer laughs at your absurdity.
Then you dance, for the second time, to the music that flows out from inside. Under the moonlight, with the twinkling stars, Spencer is convinced this is the closest to Heaven on Earth. With you, in his arms, dopey grins and loving stares.
God, he’s so in love with you.

kiss the girl: ch 2
Fandom: Tears of Themis Characters: Artem x Reader
Summary: Armed with a trusty book, Artem Wing attempts to win the woman of his dreams.
ch 1 | ch 2
***
“Surprise her with flowers.”
Artem has skipped to the second half of the book where the practical suggestions are, because he doesn’t have the patience to carefully read the lengthy explanations of the “psychology of love”. The practical tips are simple enough, but the explanations following each of them are unnecessarily long and repetitive.
Ignoring those, he highlights the ones that stand out—those that sound more doable for him, at least.
The first one he notices is a classic: flowers. Of course. He’s done it before actually—he’d given her a bouquet of garden cosmos because she told him that she liked them. She didn’t really show much of a reaction back then, but he recalls the warm smile it had put on her face for the rest of that day. He doesn’t mind seeing it again.
But, would it be boring to do the exact same thing? Maybe he can change it up slightly… If he recalls correctly, the book said something about how to send a bouquet of flowers in a way that will “keep her on her toes”.
It doesn’t take long for him to scan the book and find the relevant page. However, as he goes over the detailed suggestion, his brows gradually turn downwards into a frown.
“Will this really work...” he mumbles to himself, pressing a finger to his temple. Frankly, it sounds unnecessarily cliched and cumbersome… not to mention embarrassing. No doubt, if Celestine catches wind of this, she won’t let him live it down.
But, he supposes, if he’s going to take relationship advice from a book, then he might as well go through with it fully.
Having made up his mind, Artem picks up his phone and begins typing up a draft message.
***
You’ve barely stepped into the office when you hear Kiki calling your name in an unusually high-pitched voice. Your first thought is that she’s managed to get tickets for the upcoming concert for her favourite idol group.
But then you arrive at your desk and realise a marked change from how you had left it the night before: your usually clean and neat desk now has a large bouquet of garden cosmos placed right in the middle of it.
Artem’s is the first name that comes to mind, but you dismiss the thought quickly. With his shy and reserved personality, it’d be strange to expect him to send you flowers out of the blue.
Your sharp eyes don’t miss the little pink rectangular card sticking out from the side of the bouquet. Kiki spots it at the same time as you do, and her eyes widen with a playful gleam, not even trying to be subtle with the way she’s leaning over to you, to take a peek at the message.
With a cheeky smile, you lean away from her too, deliberately hiding the card from her view, which only makes Kiki kick up a fuss about wanting to see too. Thankfully, Celestine isn’t in the office yet. You don’t think you can deal with two overly-enthused friends this early in the morning.
Ignoring Kiki’s protests, you open the folded card to read it. As it turns out, there’s not much to hide from her. The message is a simple and curt one:
I hope this makes you smile. Have a good day.
“There’s no signature,” you remark, handing the card to Kiki who practically lunges for it. Her disappointment at the short message is obvious. “Why would someone give you flowers without signing off on it?”
“Maybe they forgot?” you venture, although you carefully search the bouquet in case you missed something else.
“Don’t tell me… Did you send this to yourself?”
You’re unable to hold in your laughter at the absurd idea, and the both of you simultaneously burst into giggles. Just then, your finger feels the edge of another piece of paper hidden between the wrapping paper. You pull it out, and it’s just a small, square card with the letter ‘M’ written on it in fancy, embellished lettering.
“Maybe it’s the first letter of his name?” Kiki suggests. “Who do you think it’s from?”
The letter ‘M’... You don’t know that many people whose name starts with that letter, and a familiar face is already coming to mind—he’s the only one who would pull a stunt like this, especially after you told him specifically a few days ago that you did not want him to send flowers to you, and especially not to your workplace. You don’t want to be teased by your colleagues and worse, Artem might get the wrong idea if he sees it.
“I think I might know who the culprit is…”
With a clenched fist, you pull out your phone and search up the contact before hitting the ‘call’ button. Kiki is left behind, cleanly forgotten, as you storm out of the office to give the culprit a piece of your mind.
***
When Artem enters the office that morning, the first thing he notices is Celestine and Kiki whispering to each other at the pantry while stealing glances at a certain attorney’s way. He follows their gazes to her desk where she’s seated and doing work as always, although today there seems to be a frown etched onto her face, and the bouquet of flowers are nowhere to be seen.
He panics for a moment, wondering if something had gone wrong with the delivery, but then he notices the wrapping peeking out from underneath the table when he walks past her desk and heads towards the pantry, where her two friends are obviously talking about her behind her back—literally.
“What’s going on?” he asks in a low whisper after exchanging morning greetings with them. “Did something happen?”
Celestine discreetly points in the direction of their sulking friend with a grimace. “She’s been like this ever since she got the flowers this morning.”
Artem’s brows knit together, and his mouth opens and closes a few times before he finally manages to piece together his thoughts into a coherent sentence. “I thought... she’d be happy to receive flowers.”
“I thought so too,” Kiki nods, “but when I asked if she knew who the sender was, she suddenly got angry. Said she knew who the culprit was and stormed off. Then she came back and she’s been doing work like this ever since.” She finishes her explanation with a drawn-out sigh, and her eyes return to the back figure of the junior lawyer who’s furiously typing away at her computer.
Artem follows her gaze, and nervously swallows a lump that had formed in his throat without him realising. As always, Celestine is annoyingly quick to catch on to what he’s thinking, and she startles him slightly with an elbow nudge to his arm. “Shouldn’t you put your things down in your office? Or are you here for coffee again?”
He’s not even in the mood to humour her right now. With an absent hum, he nods and quietly trudges towards his office.
Once he’s inside and the door is shut, his bag falls to the ground by his desk and his jacket is flung unceremoniously onto the back of his chair before he sinks into it, fingers entangling in his hair.
He’s screwed. Did he send her the wrong flowers? But she said she liked garden cosmos and he had sent her the same flowers before, so that can’t be it.
Then, was it the message? But he took pains to make sure that it was short, simple and pleasant. Or was it because it was too short? Had she been expecting more?
No, no, but Kiki said she got angry after she figured out who the sender was… which meant that she was angry at him. Had he overstepped the boundaries by sending flowers to the office?
That’s probably it. He messed up horribly. Of course she would be upset that her boss sent her flowers to the office—that was inappropriate. Entirely inappropriate. Why didn’t he think this through properly? Stupid, stupid stupid…
He’s so lost in his thoughts that he doesn’t even register the sound of knocking on his door. It’s only when he hears his name being called that he looks up, only to meet the gaze of his colleague whom he can’t bear to face right now.
Hastily, he fixes his hair from the crazed pulling and tugging just seconds ago, and sits upright in his chair while eyeing her cautiously. He’d better pick his words wisely here. “Yes?” The word comes out strained, as if he’s choking.
“I’ve completed the draft statement of claim for the Macrosoft employee issue—the one about the breach of restraint of trade clause and the conspiracy claim,” she says, placing a set of papers on his table. “I’ve also completed the legal opinion you requested for the resulting trust analysis on the Williams’ matrimonial property issue, and I will send you the draft affidavit for Mrs Jones’ case by the end of today.”
“Ah. Thank you…” Artem waits for her to say something else, all while scrutinising her face. She doesn’t seem as angry as before—although she does look a little confused when she meets his gaze.
“Did I miss anything?” she asks, already visibly starting to panic.
“N-No, it’s not that...” Should he just apologise right now and avoid letting the issue fester? He’s not sure if he should be happy or unnerved by how perfectly normal she’s acting. Is she not angry anymore? Or is she just doing an exceptional job of holding her anger in? All those reminders he used to give her about maintaining composure in front of clients and in court must have paid off.
“Okay. Then, if there’s nothing else, I’ll go—”
“Wait, just— just a second.” She peers at him curiously as he stands to his feet and walks over to her, all the while refusing to make eye contact with her.
“T-The morning... flowers… you...” For goodness’ sake, he makes a living off speaking before the court, and yet here he is, reduced to the equivalent of a blabbering toddler in front of his colleague.
“Ah... you saw those?” she looks away, and he sees the frustration from earlier returning to her face.
“You… don’t like them?”
“It’s not that,” she replies, twisting her lips. “It’s just a stupid prank to play on someone.”
“A… stupid… prank?” Each word is like a stab to his chest. Did he do something to give her the impression that he was making fun of her, or playing a joke? Most people think he’s too serious to crack jokes in the first place...
“Don’t worry about it. I’ve settled it with the culprit.”
For the first time in the conversation so far, Artem doesn’t sink further into his internal pool of self-pity. Instead, he’s now genuinely puzzled. “What do you mean?”
“I just called him to tell him to not send me flowers to the office anymore. I’ve told him before, but he really doesn’t listen to people.”
“Who?”
“Marius. You know how he is.”
“You think… Marius… gave you the flowers?”
“Yeah. He kept denying it over the phone, but I know better than to believe him. Who else would send me flowers for no reason?”
She’s staring at him expectantly, as if waiting for him to laugh at her rhetorical question or respond to it in some way.
Artem doesn’t answer. He doesn’t know how, because his mind has drawn a complete blank at this point, save for the one question ringing in his mind:
Where the heck did she get the idea that the flowers were from Marius?
In his stupor, Artem doesn’t realise that the silence in his office has been stretching on for far too long for it to be comfortable. And he doesn’t notice the realisation that clicks in her eyes after a while, until he hears a quiet, “ Oh .”
She sheepishly meets his eyes. “By any chance, was that letter on the card meant to be a ‘W’? As in, ‘Wing’?”
Should he admit it? If he does, will her anger shift to him? Should he just let Marius be the scapegoat and live the rest of his days in quiet atonement and regret?
Artem doesn’t get the chance to admit it, because she easily reads the answer off his very perplexed and obviously guilty expression. Obviously, he’s far better suited to defending criminals than acting like one.
“Are you mad?” he asks her, when she too, falls silent.
“Huh? No, no, of course not. Why would I be?”
“You were angry when you thought Marius sent you flowers.”
“That’s because it’s Marius. But I’m glad the flowers were from you .” Her lips spread into a warm smile, and in that instant, all of Artem’s worries dissolve into thin air. “I love the bouquet, it’s beautiful. Thank you.”
A smile of relief makes its way onto his face, and he nods. “I’m glad you like it.”
So there is some truth to the book that Celestine gave him after all.
In that case… maybe next time, he can send her roses. He hopes he’ll have the occasion to, anyway. For now, he’ll take it one step at a time.

Secret
A/N: Hello, hello! Not much to say about this one other than Allison made me do it (2021 is amazing but angsty and I needed some serious fluff so I wrote it myself smh) Anyways, enjoy :)
Summery: AU in which once you meet your soulmate, you can hear them talking to themselves. You’re Shawn’s personal assistant and soulmate but you have to keep your relationship a secret, until one day . . .
Word count: 6.5k+
Warnings: Swearing, and little angst towards the end (but only a little)
---
This wasn’t how it was supposed to happen.
Nobody knew. Nobody. Not your parents, not Andrew, not even Brian knew. You never told anyone about it. But now the whole world knew about your relationship.
The whole world knew and you sure as hell were going to lose your job.
---
You wouldn’t say you knew you were soulmates right away, but it didn’t take long to figure it out. Well, it didn’t take long for Shawn to figure it out and tell you. In fact, it only took him about six hours after meeting you to realize you were the one destined for him.
He knew the moment he met you that there was something about you that was just different. Not different like “I’m not like other girls” different. Different as in someone that gave him a feeling he’d never had before.
“Shawn, this is Y/N Y/L/N, your new personal assistant. Y/N, this is Shawn.” You smiled nervously as Andrew introduced you to your new boss, giving him a small wave before realizing how unprofessional it looked.
You stuck your hand out for a handshake. “Nice to meet you, Mr. Mendes.”
“Oh, please,” he chuckled as he shook your hand. “Call me Shawn. Mr. Mendes is way too formal.”
You let out a small laugh as well, dropping his hand. There was an awkward pause that made you worry you’d already made the wrong impression. Too weak of a handshake? A wavering voice? What made this go downhill so fast?
“If you’ll excuse me, I need to use the restroom.” You nodded at the two men before heading over to the bathroom in the hotel lobby.
“She seemed nervous,” Shawn mentioned once you were out of earshot.
“I think she’s going to be a good fit. She’s a year younger than you and her application was great. Give her a chance. She was meeting the Shawn Mendes, her boss, after all.
Get it together, Y/N.
The words muttered in his head were in her voice, not his own. He frowned, sure that his mind was simply playing tricks on him.
Meanwhile, you were in the bathroom, cursing yourself for already making the wrong impression.
“You said ten words to the man and he probably already thinks you’re a moron,” you muttered as you paced in front of the sinks. “Take a deep breath and get back out there.”
“You okay?” Andrew asked, referring to the distant look that had overtaken Shawn’s face.
“Hmm? . . . Oh, yeah. Zoned out for a second.” Am I hearing my soulmate’s voice?
“Play nice with Y/N. I really think you’re going to like her.”
You exited the bathroom and put a pleasant look on your face as you approached the group. That was your job now: look and make everyone happy.
“Y/N, I’ll show you to your room so you can get settled,” Andrew said, gesturing for you to lead the way towards the elevator.
“Wait, Y/N.” Shawn reached out to gently grab your shoulder. “Do you wanna meet up before dinner for a smoothie or something? You know, to get to know each other?” His soft smile was something you couldn’t say no to, even if you’d only known him for three minutes.
Thirty minutes later, Shawn was knocking on your hotel door and taking you out for a smoothie shop across the street.
“What do you think you’re gonna get?” he asked once you were standing in line, taking his wallet out of his pocket.
“Trying to decide between strawberry-banana and berry blast.”
“This is the best smoothie shop around and you want strawberry-banana?”
“Or berry blast.” You’d just met him but the banter came easily. “Besides, if they’re that good at making smoothies, then the strawberry-banana will knock me off my feet with how good it is.”
“I don’t know if I can work with such a basic person as an assistant.” He playfully nudged you a step away from him.
“Oh, is this a test? Because you haven’t even seen me actually work yet.” You stepped in front of him, deciding on strawberry-banana.
“Yeah, but I could fire you for any reason at any time so really-”
“You’re not gonna fire me.” You turned around and gave him a smirk.
“But I could.” He stepped unreasonably close just as you stepped up to order. You pushed his face back with the back of your hand. He’s acting awfully friendly.
“I’ll take a strawberry-banana smoothie please,” you smiled at the cashier, pulling out some money.
“And I’ll get blueberry and avocado smoothie,” Shawn said as he pushed down your hand with the money and held out his card to the cashier. You glared at him playfully and lightly elbowed him in the stomach. “What? It’s good for your skin.”
“You guys are cute,” the cashier giggled after announcing the total and swiping Shawn’s card.
“Oh, we barely know each other.” Your words were a lost cause as Shawn dragged you aside so the next person could order.
“Shh, she doesn’t know that. Make her think there’s a world where a person with a basic smoothie order and a person with a good smoothie order can be soulmates.”
“I haven’t overheard you talking to yourself yet so I don’t think that’s possible.”
“But imagine.” He led you over to a table and plopped down on a seat. You turned around to hang your purse over the back of the chair as you sat down.
“Wait, how much do I owe you?” You pulled the purse back over the chair and dug through it to find the money you haphazardly stuck in there just a minute before.
“Nothing. It’s on me,” he said, like it was the obvious answer.
“But I feel bad making you pay for it.”
“You’re not making me pay for it, I wanted to. Consider it a ‘welcome to the team’ present.”
“That’s very kind of you.”
He liked how nervous he was making you. Whether it was because he was your boss or because he was devilishly handsome, he wasn’t entirely sure. But, he did know that you made him a little nervous too, especially since he was 95 percent sure you were his soulmate.
---
“You know what?” you said to yourself in your hotel room that night. “This is going to be really good for me. A fresh start and a chance to see the world. It doesn’t get much better than that.”
Shawn was distracted from his own thoughts once he heard your voice in his head. Shawn Mendes is my fucking boss. Not only that, but he’s an awesome dude. He smiled, not entirely sure he should be listening into this conversation. To be fair though, he couldn’t help it. Your voice was in his head.
“Damn,” he said as he put on a clean shirt for the night. “That girl was real cute.” He heard something fall in the other room followed by absolute silence, leading him to believe that you heard him. “She had a basic-ass smoothie order though.”
Was that my soulmate? He couldn’t help but laugh, trying to stay quiet as he figured out how to surprise you. Who did I meet today? You started to list the numerous people you met at dinner that night as Shawn shuffled over to the door that connected your hotel rooms.
“Hey, soulmate,” he quipped as he swung the door open. You let out a yelp, arms holding a shirt over your chest as you fell back onto the bed. “Oh, sorry!”
You threw the shirt over your head and glanced at the mirror on the wall to make sure you looked presentable. “You can come back in now,” you said once you were decent. Shawn reentered with a hand over his eyes, softly closing the door behind him. “You can look,” you giggled. “I have a shirt on now.”
Shawn put his hand down and smiled sheepishly at you. You wanted to swoon at how cute he looked with his rosy cheeks and messy curls.
“Hi.” He leaned against the wall, watching your feet get closer and closer to him until your sock clad toes were almost touching his.
“Hey.” He slowly looked up to meet your gaze. You gave him a shy smile and wave, to which he could only smile back. He’s been dreaming of the moment he met his soulmate for all these years yet he found himself at a loss of words.
“So . . . how much of that did you hear?”
“Oh, I heard the whole shabang. I’m glad you think so highly of me.” You groaned and leaned into his chest.
“You weren’t supposed to hear any of that.”
“That’s part of the whole soulmate thing. Can’t help it.”
“We’re actually soulmates?” You lifted your head so your chin was resting on his chest.
“Yeah,” He wrapped his arms around you. “I think we are.”
You brought your hands up so they were resting on his shoulders. “That moment would be a lot more romantic if I wasn’t staring up your nose.”
Shawn threw his head back, body shaking with laughter. You buried your face into his chest as you laughed along with him.
There was a comfortable pause before either of you dared to break the moment. “I’d day we should stay up all night and talk about our deepest fears and hopes for the future but we both look dead tired so we should probably call it a night.”
“Probably should. Night, Shawn.”
“Night, Y/N.” He squeezed you for a second longer before opening the door and stepping back into his room, sending you a wink before he shut it all the way.
“Shawn Mendes is my soulmate,” you whispered to yourself. “Shawn Mendes is my fucking soulmate!”
“Uh huh,” Shawn chuckled from the other room. “We’re definitely soulmates.”
---
It was a year of bliss full of sneaking kisses behind closed doors and holding hands under tables. You agreed at the start to keep your relationship a secret. With you settling into the new job and the two of you wanting to explore the relationship, it was best to keep everything under wraps. Hard as you tried, people had their suspicions for one reason or another.
It started with Andrew about a month after you realized you were soulmates. Shawn knew he could trust Andrew but he also knew that Andrew could be kind of harsh when it came to professionalism. The man didn’t expect the two of you to refer to each other strictly by last name, but he did expect that you abide by the rules and not cross the line between platonic and romantic.
So Shawn thought it would be best to find out what would happen if you were to announce that you were together. You know, in a hypothetical situation.
“Andrew, Shawn is looking for you,” you said as you peeked your head around the doorway of the green room. “He’s in his dressing room.”
Andrew’s head perked up at the calling of his name and nodded, standing up and following you to Shawn’s dressing room. You let him go in by himself, telling him that you had some other things to attend to. Once he shut the door though, you put your ear to it in hopes that you would be able to overhear what he had to say about Shawn’s “hypothetical” situation.
“Y/N said you needed me?” Andrew said once the door was closed.
“Yeah, I just had a quick question.” Shawn picked at the skin on the side of his thumb. “I just thought of this random situation and I was wondering what would happen if it actually happened.”
Andrew nodded for him to go on, still confused as to why Shawn made him come all the way down there for this.
“So say, my assistant was my soulmate. What would happen? Would they be able to keep their job or . . .?” He could see the gears turning in Andrew’s head at the mention of a soulmate and he wasn’t quite sure how he was going to answer.
“Is this about Y/N?”
“No, no. Just in some alternate universe. What would happen?”
“It depends. You obviously have a soulmate, we can’t stop that from happening, but I’d rather it not be someone you worked with,” Andrew started. “When I hire any team member, no matter what their job is, they agree that there is to be no romantic involvement with you. It keeps things professional and could prevent things from going haywire with the media. Things never look good when a star gets involved with someone on their team. I just don’t want to deal with all the bad publicity that could come out of that kind of situation. I don’t know if I would fire them but it would likely be on the table.” He leaned back against the wall and crossed his arms. “But that’s not happening with you and Y/N, right?”
Your face dropped. You were expecting that sort of answer, but it still hurt to hear.
“What? Pfft, of course not. I was just curious,” Shawn replied, walking over to the door and pushing it open. You stumbled back, suddenly realizing that you were supposed to be attending “other things.”
“That was all. Thanks, Andrew.” Andrew gave Shawn a look that said he knew something was up, but Shawn laughed it off.
Okay?” He stepped out into the hallway, bumping into you. “Oops, sorry, Y/N.”
“Haha, no problem,” you waved him off. “Shawn, they need you on stage for soundcheck.”
“Soundcheck doesn’t start for another half hour,” Andrew said.
“They wanted to start early. Something about having trouble with stuff in the past so they wanted to get a head start.”
Shawn shot you a discrete thumbs up, eyes silently thanking you for the save.
“Okay then? I’ll let you do what you need to do.”
You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding in once he turned around and started making his way back down the hallway.
“Do they actually need me?”
“No, but I needed to look like I wasn’t eavesdropping.”
Shawn looked down the hallway to make sure no one was there before pulling you into a hug behind the open door and pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “I love you.”
“Love you too, big guy. Can we go to stage so it doesn’t look like I was lying?” You pulled away and took hold of his hand, tugging him in the direction of the stage.
Shawn rolled his eyes. “The things I do for you.”
“Thank youuu.” He followed you down the long hallway, checking every so often to make sure no one was behind you.
“Nice shoes,” he smirked, glancing down at the tie dye Crocs you were wearing.
“My heel broke and I didn’t have another pair of shoes on me.”
“But you had rainbow Crocs?”
“It’s fashion and comfort all in one shoe. You expect me to carry another pair of heels around when I could be wearing these bad boys?”
“I mean, they go wonderfully with the blouse and slacks. I kinda want a pair now.”
“Guess I know what to get you for Christmas.”
The sound of footsteps coming towards you stopped your conversation. You ripped your hand out of Shawn’s and he found himself missing the warmth of it.
“Hey, just talked to stage crew,” Andrew said once he popped around the corner you were just about to turn. “They’re not starting yet. They’re actually on track to be starting late. Don’t know who told you they needed him.”
“That’s weird,” you said, attempting to subtly put some more space between Shawn and yourself. “Guess we have some time. You guys need me to get anything for you?” The men both shook their heads no.
“Nice shoes, by the way.” He was gone as quickly as he appeared.
You looked over to see Shawn doubled over, body shaking with laughter. “Shut up, he almost caught us.”
“Yeah, but he saw the shoes!”
“How did the universe put us together?”
“Oh stop.” He wrapped you in his arms once again. “You know you love me.”
---
Brian was the next to get curious about your relationship.
A knock on the door that connected you and Shawn’s hotel room made Shawn look up from his phone for the first time in a while. He was met with your sheepish smile and what he now affectionately called the “Y/N wants something wave.”
He narrowed his eyes at you. “What do you want?”
“Can I borrow one of your shirts? All of mine are dirty.”
“You have like 1,000 shirts.”
“Well 995 of them are dressy shirts for my job and I’m out of comfy shirts to sleep in. Would you be willing to sacrifice one of yours so I may bask in its comfort?”
“I guess so,” he sighed, leaning over the side of his bed to grab a shirt.
“Thank you.” You smiled wider as he came towards you and threw the shirt over your face. “Ooh, it smells like you.”
“That could be because I wear it a lot.”
“Is it your favorite shirt?”
“Maybe.”
“Ooh, I feel special.”
“Go put a shirt on, weirdo.”
You disappeared behind the door for a second and slipped the shirt on. You stepped back into Shawn’s room without a second thought and suddenly, Shawn couldn’t take his eyes off of you.
The silence and his stare made you feel self conscious for a moment. Does he not want me to wear it?
“I actually have a clean shirt if you don’t want me to wear-”
“No, keep it on. It looks good on you.” Two months into your secret relationship and he was head over heels in love with you.
“Thanks . . .” Completely uncharted territory. Neither of you had any idea what to do from here.
“Do you wanna, uh, sleep here tonight?” He scratched the back of his neck.
“Yeah . . . I’d like that.”
He held his arm out for you to enter and closed the door behind you.
“I, uh, need to use the bathroom real quick.”
You stepped into the bathroom and braced yourself on the counter. “It’s no big deal, Y/N. He’s your soulmate. No need to get nervous.”
Shawn melted as the words played in his head. Now go out there and be the best damn soulmate there is.
You emerged from the bathroom like nothing happened, leaning on the doorway with your arms crossed. “Sup?”
“You didn’t flush the toilet.”
“Oh please, we both know I wasn’t actually going to the bathroom.”
Shawn held his hands up in defense, extending them out as you shuffled over to the bed and flopped down on it.
“I’m going to steal this shirt, by the way,” you said matter of factly.
“You should. It looks good on you.” He tugged you onto his chest so your head was laying over his heart.
“You’re gonna let me steal your favorite shirt, just like that?” You flipped over so your chin was resting on his shoulder. He nodded. “Damn, that was easy. You really do love me.”
You spent the next hour and a half talking about the random thoughts that crossed your mind. Minute by minute, your eyes got droopier and droopier, until you were fast asleep on top of Shawn. It was everything he wanted in life, right there in his arms.
He was almost asleep himself when there was a sharp knock on the door. He got up, careful not to move you too much and wake you up before opening the door.
“Hey, can I borrow some toothpaste?” a tired looking Brian asked, a yawn escaping his mouth in the fluorescent hotel hallway.
“Uh, yeah.” Shawn let Brian step inside, completely forgetting in his sleepy state that you were laying on the bed. He came out of the bathroom a second later to hand the toothpaste to Brian, who seemed completely shocked out of the daze he was in earlier. “What?”
“Is that Y/N?”
“Oh, yeah, she had a rough day so she came over here to vent. Ended up falling asleep before she went back to her own room.” He was getting better at coming up with these coverups.
“Really? She seemed like she was having a great day when I saw her earlier. I think the tie dye Crocs put her in a good mood.”
“I don’t know,” Shawn shrugged. “Maybe something went wrong after you saw her?”
“Maybe,” Brian nodded slowly, already putting the pieces together. “She’s not your soulmate, is she?”
“No, of course not. Just good friends.” The response came quick. Almost too quick.
“Okay, sure.” Brian took the toothpaste from Shawn with a skeptical look. “Thanks. I’ll give it back tomorrow morning.”
Shawn gave him a thumbs up and closed the door. He looked back to your sleeping form and couldn’t help but grin. He loved everything about you. How bad would it actually be if someone found out about you?
---
“Wanna ditch and get milkshakes?” You were standing in the corner of some celebrity’s mansion when Shawn asked the question. The Grammys afterparty wasn’t all that appealing to you, but it was part of the job and Shawn wanted you to go as his plus one since you were, as he claimed, his “best friend in the whole entire universe.”
“Hell yeah.” You pushed yourself off the wall, brushing off the back of your dress. “Where’re we going?”
“I dunno. What’s open this late?” He reached out to grab your hand, which you almost took before realizing where you were. His face dropped the slightest bit, wanting nothing more than to hold your hand and let the whole world know that he’d found his soulmate.
“I’m sure there’s something close by.” You nodded for him to follow you. “Wait, I have to ‘convince’ you to stay so I can say I tried to keep you here and Andrew doesn’t get mad at me.”
Shawn crossed his arms and nodded. “Can we ditch and get milkshakes?”
“No, we have to stay so you don’t seem rude.”
“But this party's boring and we could have a lot more fun somewhere else.”
“Shawn.”
“I could fire you . . .”
“Nice,” you said, grabbing his wrist and making your way through the crowd.
The cool air of the night was a relief from how hot it was inside but you found yourself pressing yourself into Shawn’s side anyways. He threw his arm over your shoulder as the two of you made your way to the edge of the driveway. The noise from the party faded into the background and neither of you said anything, enjoying one of the rare quiet moments you got together.
“Where to, m’lady?”
“You’re the one who wanted to leave.”
“Don’t act like you wanted to be there,” he teased, pulling away to grab your hand and twirl you under his arm.
“Well, I’m indecisive so you have the honors of picking the place.”
“I guess let’s go into the city and go to the first place that’s open.”
“Sounds good to me.” Your smile could light up the streets better than the streetlamps and he never wanted to see it go away.
“Take this, by the way.” Shawn shook his suit jacket off and put it over your shoulders. The red cloth was a little too big but he thought you looked stunning nonetheless.
“I’m not cold though.” You pulled your arms through the sleeves anyways.
“Let me do the boyfriend thing,” he pleaded as he rolled his shirt sleeves up.
“Fine. Only because you look really hot with your shirt sleeves rolled up.”
He smirked, making a mental note for the future.
You walked for a while before you stumbled across a McDonald’s, mumbling a might as well before opening the door for Shawn.
“Hey, I’m supposed to do that.”
“Oh, please. Let me be nice.”
The restaurant was empty, the only other person in there being the cashier who sleepily appeared from the kitchen as you looked at the menu. Shawn stepped up and ordered a milkshake before you stepped up and ordered a shake and fries. You whipped out your card and paid for it before Shawn could, to which he playfully glared at you.
“You pay for stuff all the time. Let me pay seven dollars this one time.”
He huffed, letting you know that you’d won. You smiled triumphantly as you sat down at a table and patted the space across from you. Shawn sat down and propped his elbow on the table to rest his head on his hand.
“Why are you so pretty?” you mumbled as you admired him. Seven billion people in the world and you somehow were lucky enough to have Shawn Mendes as your soulmate. Who would’ve thought?
“Why are you so pretty?” He reached across the table to grab your hand.
“I asked first.” You intertwined your fingers with his.
Your order number was called before he could respond, causing him to let go of your hand and go up to the counter. He grabbed the food and turned around to catch you checking him out. “What’re you looking at?”
“I can’t help it! Do you have any idea how hot it is when you roll the sleeves of a button up all the way up to your elbows?”
He laughed as he pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “Would’ve done this a lot more often if I knew how much you liked it,” he said as he popped a fry into his mouth.
“Well, it’s super hot so please do it more often.” You took a sip of your milkshake. “And be more careful. Someone might see us.,” you said, referring to the act of affection he did moments before.
“We’re fine. The poor kid’s so tired they’re falling asleep back there.”
“Still. We’re in public and I really don’t want to lose my job.”
“Andrew won’t fire you. He just wants to scare us,” Shawn insisted, reaching over to tuck a piece of hair behind your ear. “Besides, if word does get out we can finally move forward with our lives. Get married? Really start our future together?” It had only been eight months but Shawn knew without a single doubt that he wanted to be with you. (The soulmate part helped a little bit too.)
“You really want to do that?”
“You’re my soulmate and the most amazing person I’ve ever met. Of course I want to get married! That is, as long as you want to.”
“I’d like that.”
The sound of your phone ringing ruined the moment, and you quickly fumbled to get it out of your pocket.
“Andrew, hey,” you said, watching Shawn’s face change from lovey-dovey to concerned and a little scared.
“Where are you guys?” Andrew’s voice came through the phone, slightly drowned out by the loud music playing in the background.
“I . . . uh . . .”
“It sounds really quiet over there. Did you guys sneak back to the hotel?” You cringed at what sounded like a disappointed tone as you tried to come up with an answer that wouldn’t get you fired.
“Shawn wanted milkshakes so we’re at McDonalds,” you finally admitted.
“Dude!” Shawn whisper yelled.
“I tried to make him stay but he was insistent!”
“Can you put Shawn on the phone?”
“Sure,” you said, passing the phone to Shawn.
“Andrew, hi,” Shawn said in a voice that did not at all match the look on his face. You couldn’t hear what Andrew was saying but based on the intermittent “I know” and “yeah” you assumed he was getting lectured about ditching the party.
“We will. See you there.” He hung up with a sigh. “Our romantic time at McDonald’s is going to have to come to an end, my dear.”
“What’d he say?” You took your phone from his hand and stood up.
“Come back to the hotel or you’re gonna get it.” He took his milkshake in one hand and your hand in the other, letting you take the last few fries and throw out the cardboard.
“You’re going to get me fired one of these days.”
“You say that like it’s a bad thing.”
“It is a bad thing! I like my job, thank you very much.”
“I kid, I kid.”
His smile was all you needed in life. Job or not, you would always have Shawn, right?
---
“Here’s your boarding pass,” you said through a yawn, handing Shawn the slip of paper as you walked into the airport.
The pass you handed him had your name printed on it and he laughed to himself. He took the pass you had in your hand and switched it with the one he gave you.
“What’re you-”
“You gave me your pass.” He placed his hand on your lower back, subtly trying to speed you up so you could catch up to the rest of the group.
“Oh, sorry,” you muttered softly. “I’ve gotten three hours of sleep in the past two days. I’m so ready to get on the plane and take a freaking nap.”
“We gotta get on the plane first, sleepyhead.” You were dressed in leggings, an oversized t-shirt, and your tie dye Crocs. It was one of the few times he ever saw you dressed down on the job and he was loving it.
“Watch your hand, there’s people all around.”
“It’s really hard to take you seriously when you look like you’re about to pass out in my arms.”
“Shawn!”
“I’m helping out my tired best friend. Besides, it’s four in the morning, nobody’s around.” He didn’t move his arm, even as you got closer to the group. It was like he wanted to get caught. “And, if you really wanted me to move, you would’ve shaken my arm off by now.”
He knew you too well.
He kept his arm there as you checked your luggage and went through security, only letting go when absolutely necessary. It earned some strange looks from a couple team members but you were too tired to care. All you wanted to do was take a year long nap.
You ended sitting in the terminal with half the team while the other half went to get coffee. Shawn sat next to you, occasionally glancing around to see if he could steal a kiss from you when no one was looking.
It was another 30 minutes until you were supposed to board but you weren’t sure you would be able to keep your eyes open for much longer. Shawn noticed your bobbing head and drooping eyes and wrapped his arm around your shoulders, pushing your head so it was resting on his shoulder.
“I’ll wake you up when it’s time to board.”
“Thanks, babe,” you whispered, pressing a subtle kiss to his shoulder as your eyes fluttered closed.
“What are you guys gonna do when you find your real soulmates?” Brian asked casually, not even looking up from his phone. Shawn’s head snapped up at the mention of “soulmates” and Brian snickered. “You two act like you’re soulmates all the freaking time. What’s gonna happen when you find the actual one for you?”
“What if we are soulmates and we just didn’t tell anyone?” It was a stupid answer but he wasn’t sure what else to say. Was he really about to expose your relationship after keeping it a secret for all this time?
“You wouldn’t be able to keep that from me.” While Brian wasn’t entirely convinced his two friends weren’t soulmates, he didn’t have the proof to say definitively that they were.
“Fair enough.”
The conversation stopped there but Shawn couldn’t stop thinking about it. Eleven months together and you somehow managed to keep it a secret from everyone. It meant that you couldn’t progress your relationship as far as you wanted to though. Was it even worth it to keep it a secret anymore?
Your boarding group was called before he could dwell on it too long and Shawn was forced to wake you up. As much as he wanted to keep you asleep, he knew there was no getting you on the plane otherwise.
“Wake up, pretty girl,” he muttered as he pressed his face to the top of your head and rubbed his hand up and down your arm. You sighed and snuggled deeper into him, craving his warmth. “You can go back to sleep soon but we gotta get on the plane.”
You lifted your head slowly, blinking at the bright lights of the terminal. Shawn helped you stand up and grabbed your carry on and helped you stand up.
“I’m supposed to take your stuff. That’s my actual job,” you said, reaching for your backpack that he was holding.
“You’re tired, honey. Let me carry your bag.”
You complied, too tired and wanting nothing more than to knock out for the five hour flight. You put your head back on Shawn’s shoulder the second he sat down next to you on the plane, out cold for the entire ride.

Shawn Mendes Found His Soulmate? Everything You Need to Know About the New Couple.
What You Need to Know About Shawn Mendes’ Post Last Night.
Shawn Mendes Gets Cozy With His PA in Recent Instagram Post.
The headlines seemed to be never ending as they appeared on your phone. You could hear Shawn pacing in the other room and trying to explain to Andew what was happening. It was inevitable, you knew. But did it have to happen like this?
“Andrew, I don’t know what to tell you. It was an accident!” Shawn insisted, running a hand through his hair for the millionth time since the call started.
“Do you have any idea how bad this is, Shawn?” Andrew sighed on the other side of the line. “This is exactly what I told you was going to happen!”
Texts were blowing up your phone like crazy. All your friends were wondering since when Shawn Mendes was your soulmate and why you didn’t tell them earlier. That didn’t matter so much through as you realized that you were about to lose your job, and possibly Shawn.
“We’re soulmates, Andrew! What were we supposed to do? You said that she’d be fired if she was my soulmate. Y/N loves this job and she’s amazing at it. I didn’t want to lose her!”
You felt like you were going to throw up.
From what you could hear, the rest of the conversation didn’t go too well. Shawn sounded frustrated beyond belief as he tried to save your job and relationship, leaving you wondering if you would have either of those after today. You were so lost in thought that you didn’t hear him enter the living room and sit down next to you.
“Andrew wants to have a meeting in an hour,” he sighed. You bit your lip, trying to hold back tears as you stared at the ground.
“I’m getting fired, aren’t I?” you asked.
“I have no idea, honestly. I’m not sure how much authority I have over that.” He put his head in his hands. The uncertainty of the future was killing both of you.
“Should we just break up?”
Your voice was so quiet but Shawn heard the words loud and clear.
“What!?”
“We’re obviously going to get in a ton of trouble for this. What if Andrew says we have to end it? If this ends, I want it to be on my terms, not someone else’s.”
“Y/N, he can’t make us break up.”
“But what if this destroys your career? I wouldn’t be able to live with the fact that I was the reason you had to stop doing what you loved.”
“Y/N, you’re spiraling. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, that I love more than you.”
“I just want you to be happy.” A single tear slipped down your face and Shawn wished he wasn’t the reason for it.
“You make me happy.”
You stared at each other for a moment before you threw yourself into his arms, latching on tight as sobs rang through your body. Shawn tucked his head into your neck, holding you tight and letting a few tears soak into your shirt.
“No matter what happens,” He pulled back to look directly into your eyes. “I will always love you. Nobody can make us end our relationship, okay? I don’t care if it ends my career, I will never want anything more than you.”
You nodded, not sure what else to say.
“Now, lets get yelled at by Andrew and tell him that this isn’t going to end.”
---
“Alright, let’s talk about this.” Andrew sat down across from you and Shawn, sounding calmer than he did an hour ago over the phone.
“Before you say anything, we’re not breaking up. I just wanna make that clear.” Shawn said, his thumb caressing your hand under the table.
“I’m not gonna make you break up. I just want to know why you didn’t tell me earlier.” His voice sounded strained, like he couldn’t believe that you would hide something like this from him for so long. “We could’ve prevented this whole squabble if you just told me earlier.”
“I didn’t want to lose my job,” you said. “I agreed that I wouldn’t be romantically involved with Shawn when you hired me and I broke that agreement on the first day.”
“The first day?” Andrew leaned forward in his seat.
“Yeah, we uh . . . we found out that night.”
“If I’m being honest, I’ve pretty much known for a while,” Andrew confessed. “I was waiting for one of you to tell me though. I didn’t want to pressure you.”
“But you said she could get fired-”
“I said that firing her could possibly be on the table, depending on the situation. Y/N’s a great team member and I know your relationship isn’t going to get in the way of her doing her job. I figured that if you were trying to keep it a secret for so long, you didn’t want anyone to know.”
“You knew the whole time?” Shawn leaned back in his chair, feeling a lot more relaxed now that he knew your job was safe.
“You guys were subtle but you weren’t that subtle. I pieced it together pretty quickly.”
“So I’m not getting fired?”
“No, I’m not going to fire you.”
You breathed a sigh of relief. Everything was a-okay. “Thank you, Andrew. Really, thank you, thank you, thank you!”
“No need to thank me. Your work speaks for itself.” Andrew smiled and for the first time in a long time, you felt at ease. You didn’t have to hide anything anymore. “However, we do have to deal with this situation you two have created.”
---
“Ready?” Shawn asked, his thumb hovering over the “post” button.
“Ready as I’ll ever be,” you smiled. A year of hiding your relationship from everyone you knew and you were finally going to share it with the world.
“Let’s do this.” He pressed the button and just like that, the picture was up.
