TWST: What ringtones would Yuu/MC put under different characters when one of them calls Yuu/MC… (Part 3/3)
Here me out: Disney songs as ringtones for the entire NRC.
If Yuu/MC is like a Disney nerd (just for the songs) from their world, they would totally do this (when they finally got their phone in the Twisted Wonderland main story, dunno which Book No. mentions that they have their own personal phone).
I’m gonna make a list but I won’t mention the titles of each song, just like a little lyric line as a hint there (although some might be TOO OBVIOUS to those who knows the lyric line). Also I might list DA BOIS by year (but dorm leader as last on the list) and hopefully you enjoy reading this:
Diasomnia:
Sebek - “Son of Man, look to the sky Lift your spirit, set it free Some day you'll walk tall with pride Son of Man, a man in time you'll be”
Silver - “There's no pre-written guarantee of "Happily ever after" Step into your greatness before your story ends”
Lilia - “I know every mile will be worth my while I would go most anywhere to feel like I belong”
Malleus - “Won't resent Won't despair Old and bent I won't care I'll have spent one day out there!”
NRC faculty and staff:
Crowley - “Ha ha ha, are you kidding? Is this a joke? You need to let it go You're stronger with those daddy issues”
Crewel - “She's like a spider waiting for the kill Look out for Cruella De Vil”
Trein - “Sometimes our happiness is captured Somehow, our time and place stand still Love lives on inside our hearts and always will”
Vargas - “There's no man in town as admired as you You're everyone's favorite guy Everyone's awed and inspired by you And it's not very hard to see why”
Mr. Sam - “I've got voodoo, I've got hoodoo I've got things I ain't even tried 'Cause I've got friends on the other side”
BONUS:
If Yuu/MC gets a text message from one of the Overblotted bois AND/OR Crowley, they would definitely make this a ringtone with the “Worth It” song playing in the BG:

The shrill sound of Chris’ ringtone interrupted the song on the radio as he came to a stop at a red light. He sat up a little straighter when he read the name on his display screen and answered the call with a smile just as the light turned green. “Hey Ma,” he murmured, pulling through the interaction and checking his mirror before he merged into the left lane, just in time to see the Disney Studios sign a few blocks down.
“Hi honey, are you in the middle of something?”
“No, I’m just on my way to do some recording, what’s up?”
“I just was on my way into the theater and wanted to call to see how you were,” Lisa told him, Chris smiling at the simple gesture. “I feel like it’s been a long time since we’ve actually gotten to catch up.”
“I know, it has been,” he agreed. He’d missed her dearly since he flew out to California earlier in the month, preparing to spend a long time alone with just Dodger at his home here, and with Scott popping over whenever he got bored, until he left for Europe in May. He missed home. He missed waking up to a dusting of snow practically every day, the frigid temperatures almost demanding he stick to his usual rotations of sweaters to keep warm, and most of all, he missed his family. Sure, Scott was here, but it wasn’t the same as hopping in the car and just showing up at his mother's house unannounced, playing with Carly’s kids and hearing all the drama from their elementary and middle school lives, and seeing his sisters. He missed it all. “It’s honestly been such a hard adjustment going from seeing you guys everyday during the pandemic to now being back to my work schedule.”
“Well we certainly miss having you and Scott around here all the time,” Lisa returned, and Chris knew she was being honest. He’d known that lockdown and quarantine periods had given Lisa the chance to finally have all her kids in the same place for an extended period of time, and with no projects looming over Chris and Scott. It was a blessing in disguise, one that he had to admit he enjoyed more than he thought, but eventually some semblance of reality came knocking at his door again. “The kids were just saying how much they loved having their uncles around.”
“Ugh, Ma don’t tell me that. I’m having one of those days where I’m ready to just quit everything and go home,” he sighed, clenching his jaw and pressing his head back against the headrest just as he shifted into the turn lane, rolling to a stop at the intersection. The gate to the Burbank Studios was immediately to his right, and he watched carefully as traffic flew by him in the other lanes as he carefully navigated the turn.
“You know it’s just one of your moods and by tomorrow you’ll be itching to go film,” Lisa told him, not unkindly and dismissively, but with the experience that came only by knowing Chris since the moment he was born.
“Yeah…” he shrugged to himself, pausing as he parked the car and handed his ID and talking with the guard quickly before they opened the gate for him and he drove through, heading to the parking structure closest to the Pixar offices. He sighed as he thought about what his mother said, confessing to her, “I just feel… I don’t know… sometimes I'm a little lonely I guess.”
She hummed as she listened to him, pointing out, “I think some of that is normal when you went from being with us all, and living with Scott for almost a year and then back to regular life.”
“You’re probably right,” he murmured, his voice low as his mind raced. “I think sometimes then I want to fill more of my time with new projects, but then I wonder if doing new projects is what’s keeping me from being able to find someone that I want to share my life with.”
“What about Lindsey? Weren’t things going well with her after Christmas?”
He all but cringed, remembering the short-lived relationship he’d attempted over the winter. “It fizzled. I just felt like, I don’t know, I was trying to make something work that wasn’t,” he shrugged, a blush settling on his cheeks.
“I think you need to just stop having your mind made up before you get into something,” Lisa told him with that experienced tone again, but there was a hint of well-meaning frustration and sympathy as well. “You know I love you honey, but sometimes you’re too much of a controller for your own good.”
“Yeah, I think I’ve learned that the hard way,” he breathed, huffing out a short laugh as well.
“Just try to relax, Chris. Just let things happen the way they should,” she suggested. “You’re having an emotional day so try not to get into your head too much, okay?”
“Okay, I will,” he told her, just as he pulled into a parking spot on the ground level of the garage, exchanging goodbyes with his mother before he hung up and turned the car off, grabbing his things before he opened the door and climbed out of the car.
His head was down as he stepped around the car to the open front of the parking structure, crossing the short patch of grass to reach the sidewalk. His hands slid the key fob into his pocket, clicking the ‘lock’ button a few times before he shoved both hands in the pockets of his thin jacket.
He could only hear the traffic outside the campus and the thoughts churning in his mind as he slowly got his bearings before he slowly walked towards the animation building, but he soon stopped in his tracks as a familiar voice said, “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
“What?” He asked, turning and seeing the frowning face of the person he’d come to love spending time with in the past three weeks in Burbank. “Oh hi Nat, I didn’t expect to see you here.”
Tumblr media
Her frown only deepened as she descended the last few steps, Chris’ eyes catching on the various pens behind her ears and sticking out of her jumpsuit pockets with a smirk. “I do work here you know,” her voice was sarcastic as it brought him out of his thoughts, his eyes meeting hers as she stood in front of him with a smirk spreading across her lips.
“You know what I mean, smartass,” he smirked back, instinctively reaching out to take her water bottle as she adjusted it uncomfortably between her ribs and her elbow. “I didn’t expect to see you in the garage.”
As Chris silently offered to hold something else, Nat handed him her sketchbook. With her now-free arm, Nat reached up, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ears before she readjusted her tote strap on her shoulder just as she jutted her chin out, nodding towards the garage behind her as she murmured, “Well I wish I hadn’t seen you in the garage because now I know you drive a Tesla.”
He raised an eyebrow at her as they slowly headed towards the animation building across the campus, adjusting the sage green water bottle between his hands as he held the sketchbook gently, careful to not ruin any of the sketches inside. “Is that what you mean by ‘you’ve got to be kidding me’?”
Nat let out a laugh, her nose scrunching while she held onto the strap of her bag. “I can’t even look at you the same now that I know you drive that snob machine,” she muttered playfully, Chris laughing along with her easily.
“Alright, hot wheels, what do you drive?”
“Not a Tesla, I can tell you that.”
He laughed again, not surprised at how easily she was able to make him do so. “At least it’s electric so it saves me on gas,” he pointed out, smirking as she bumped his shoulder with her own.
Nat rolled her eyes dramatically, her hand waving in the air vaguely as she drawled, “Yeah because out of all the people in the world who need to save money, it’s you…”
“Well maybe you’d make more money if you actually showed up to work on time.”
“I was on time today, I just had to run back to my car because I forgot my bag,” she retorted, hefting the aforementioned accessory on her shoulder from where it had begun slipping down.
He hummed again in a manner of disbelief, Nat bumping his shoulder again and causing the pair to break into near-giggles at the action. Their laughter died down once Nat dug her Disney ID out of her bag, swiping them into the building and leading towards the elevator. “So where have you been the past couple days? I was surprised when you weren’t in the dailies.”
“I was doing a daily meeting with the animation department instead to keep everything on track,” Nat explained, shrugging as she walked into the elevator and leaned against the wall. “I’ll be back in ours tomorrow so I can continue to derail the meetings as usual.”
“Good because it’s a lot more entertaining when you’re there.”
“Well I’ll be there tomorrow so I’ll see you then,” Nat grinned before it turned into a smirk just as the elevator doors opened, Nat taking the bottle and sketchbook from Chris before she turned to quickly head down the hall to her daily.
He followed her out of the elevator, ready to watch her head into her meeting like the flurry of chaos he’d quickly come to realize followed Nat wherever she went, but something in him begged him to stop her. He spoke up, his voice loud enough to get her attention but not capture everyone else’s as he asked, “Oh wait, Nat, are you getting lunch?”
She turned, her brows furrowed a bit as she glanced at the clock opposite her, laughing as she answered, “Considering it’s only nine-thirty, probably not.”
“I’m meaning later, smartass,” Chris sighed, his shoulders relaxing at the teasing however. “I was going to grab lunch at the commissary later in case you want to join me.”
“Wow you big Tesla-driving movie stars have time for lunch with the lowly animation employees?”
“I think it’s more the other way around. You’re the one that’s in demand here, the only value I offer is talkin’ a lot.”
“Well you do that spectacularly,” she smirked, stepping towards him a bit before she paused, still near enough to her final destination to not have to outright run soon, but far enough that he wished she was just a fraction of an inch closer.
“Maybe I don’t want to have lunch with you after all…”
“I could meet you for lunch around noon,” Nat offered, raising her eyebrows until he nodded, but quickly a smirk slid back onto her lips as she rolled her eyes. “I mean, I can’t leave you alone or all those single women will be fighting over a spot at the table with you.”
The smile that was on Chris’ mouth seemed to linger as he watched Nat disappear down the hallway before he turned and went his own direction. At thirty-nine years of age, Chris felt like he’d been around the block and had met enough people to be fairly good at reading them, but there was something about Nat that he couldn’t quite put his finger on.
He had always been drawn to funny people, loving to have a good laugh and bantering back and forth and thought that’s initially what had drawn him to Nat, making him feel so at ease with his new co-worker. Sure, that had helped, but then he had wondered if it was his interest and awe at what she did, being so enamored with her artistic talent but in the past three weeks he’d known her, he had figured out that wasn’t it either. There was something about her, something more. It wasn’t that she was funny, or talented, it was that there was more to her. There was so much depth and emotion behind her easy going laughter and charismatic demeanor.
The more he’d gotten to know her, he’d seen the deep and raw emotions she shared when she talked. He’d seen her intelligence and hard work when she explained how to visually communicate something they discussed in their meetings. He’d seen her warmth when someone new came in and she immediately welcomed them into the group. She was so much more than what was simply seen on the surface and the more he got to know her, the more he wanted to keep diving in deeper with her.
And those thoughts rang in his mind as he sat in the daily with Angus, curiously listening but silent as he observed the quick meeting before he headed to the next building, getting buzzed in by the security guards before he followed the familiar hallway into what had quickly become his “usual” recording studio, complete with Rob waiting for him, as always, in the chair in front of the various panels. Only this time, the curly-haired ball of chaos wasn’t cracking jokes and settling into her own seat, equipped with enough water and snacks to get her through three weeks of camping and every single colored pencil that was known to man. And he found himself disappointed she wasn’t there, distracting him at every move unintentionally, and as he realized that, he knew he was absolutely fucked.
He found himself counting down the minutes until it was noon, grabbing himself a salad at the long bar of choices before he went to sit at a table tucked in the corner, his blue eyes looking around to try to spy those familiar curls. And although he knew time wasn’t moving quite as quickly as he perceived, every passing second without Nat, he found himself fearing that she’d – laughably, considering this wasn’t even a fuckin’ date – stand him up. She’d likely figure it was better to get ahead on the edits from the meeting, working through lunch at her desk, leaving him by himself, with no way to know.
Chris’ leg was shaking nervously as he kept waiting, eyes darting around the room until he saw the tiny whirlwind come bursting through the doors. He watched her pull off her sunglasses, stopping and making a face when they got caught on her hair before she tugged it out and then tucked them in her giant tote bag. Chris watched as Nat ran a hand through her hair and looked around, her face lighting up with that gorgeous smile as she waved to him before hurrying over and plopping down in the empty chair with a thud.
He raised a single brow, suppressing a laugh as he asked her sarcastically, “Are you ever on time?”
“Nope, not even to my birth. I had to get evicted,” she shrugged, smirking back at him before she turned, digging around in her bag and pulling out her phone and wallet, resting them on the table in front of her.
He let out a laugh at the unexpected answer, simply agreeing, “At least you're consistent.”
“I admire your choice for lunch but I hope you know I’m eating carbs,” Nat told him, pointing a finger at the bowl of greens and vegetables in front of him, carefully picked to be within his pre-set meal plan for his upcoming film. “I need them today.”
He nodded, reaching for his card and going to get up with her, asking, “What do you want? I’ll get it.”
“No, no, you don’t need to. I don’t even know exactly what I want yet, I need to look and see what speaks to me,” she explained with a sheepish smile as she shrugged. “I’ll be right back.”
Once again, Chris was left at the table alone with only his thoughts but every single one of them was filled with her. He didn’t mean to stare, but found his blue eyes following her as she walked over to the long bar of food, comically picking something up and heading toward the cashier only to stop, look at with a face of sudden disgust and go back to swap it for something else.
Watching her was a chance to observe every thought going through her head, observing as she continued to make faces at each of the food choices before eventually getting a sandwich put on her tray, carrying it toward the cashier before stopping in her tracks and making a quick detour to the soft serve ice cream machine. Seeing it almost caused him to laugh out loud but he eventually did when he saw the ridiculously tall swirl she was creating. Hearing his laugh from across the bustling commissary made Nat turn her head from where she was, smiling widely like a proud child with their treat.
It was then that the feeling of knowing that he was fucked yet again returned to his brain. He had realized that although he had spent a lot of time with her over the past three weeks of working together, this was the first time he’d seen her completely outside of work mode. She wasn’t focusing during a meeting, working on a sketch, or trying to get something done and there was just something about that which felt different to him. He saw that beautiful smile light up on her face just by hearing his laugh and if that didn’t do something to him, he didn’t know what did. Even her slightly baggy denim jumpsuit and boots that he swore would have looked tragic on anyone else seemed to hang so cutely on her frame and just somehow screamed Nat. She was so effortlessly attractive to him, and he didn’t quite understand how something as simple as her picking out her lunch had him so magnetized to her, but yet, here he was. So completely drawn to her in a way he’d never felt, especially not this hard in years, and in a way that almost scared him. He wanted to do it right, but he also had to be realistic. He barely knew anything about her outside of the fact that she worked here – and was fucking talented – and that she was friends with Mark and Jamie. There was likely no chance of anything happening, but it didn’t mean his brain understood that very realistic possibility when it screamed at him to be around her.
Nat made her way back to the table, delicately balancing the soft serve and sandwich on her tray with a grin. Chris shook his head as she sat down, muttering, “I should have known you’re a dessert at lunch kind of girl.”
“I’m a dessert anytime kind of girl,” Nat amended easily, handing a spoon to Chris. “I hate how fast this always melts though, you need to help me eat it.”
He laughed as he took the spoon, confessing, “You’re not going to find me saying no to ice cream.”
“Well get working on that side, it’s already dripping,” she instructed him as she picked up her own spoon, taking a swipe of the chocolate and vanilla soft serve. “I deserve this today.”
His brows furrowed as he ate off his spoon, tilting his head. “Why’s that? Something wrong?”
She shrugged, waving her hand dismissively and explaining, “We’re just behind where we should be and I can’t seem to light a fire under some of the other animators.”
“Is that a common problem?”
“Not usually. I think it’s just everyone getting used to being in-person again, it’ll take some adjustment. I feel like I’m still adjusting and I’ve been back longer than most people,” she admitted to Chris with a short laugh.
He nodded, able to understand that exactly. Hell, it wasn’t just adults who were struggling with getting back to real life, his sister’s kids had all expressed similar feelings when they got back into the swing of the in-person school routines recently. “Were you in California during everything last year?” He asked as he took another swipe of ice cream from the bowl.
“No I was in Seattle, that’s where I’m from,” she answered, putting her spoon down momentarily to take a sip from her water bottle.
“Oh really? I didn’t know that,” Chris sat back, watching her carefully. “Is your family there?”
“Yeah they’re all still there,” she said, meeting his eyes with a smile.“I have two older sisters who both have kids so it was so great to spend so much uninterrupted time with them.”
“You seem like you’re pretty close to them all.”
“Oh I am. I miss them like crazy,” she admitted with a grin. “You’d think with being the single aunt, I'd be able to go up and see them more often but this keeps me pretty busy.”
He couldn’t help but feel his ears perk up at her admission of being single, a little spark of hope inside him even though his logical brain reminded him how he still didn’t even hardly know her. His mother’s words came flooding back to him, reminding him that when he tried to control the situations they often didn’t go well, so he instead sat back in his chair, resting the spoon in the empty ice cream cup before grabbing the fork to dig into his salad and mentioned, “You seem to really love your job.”
“I’m sure I feel the same about my job as you do about yours,” Nat smirked knowingly, winking at Chris as he blushed sheepishly at the harmless callout. “There’s days when you don’t want to go, when you feel burned out and exhausted. But then you see this beautiful piece of art and realize you were part of creating that…. That beautiful thing that might move someone to tears or they might talk about with their friends, or watch during a low moment in their life and then you realize just how lucky you are to get to be part of bringing that art to life.”
Chris just kept sitting there as he looked at her, so moved by her words but more so by her ability to express her feelings and those beautiful emotions she felt so deeply. He loved just being able to sit and listen to her, to get to know her and the way she thought and felt as well as the little details of her life that he found so amusing like the fact she hated cats, wanted to be a ride operator for Space Mountain when she was a kid, and that she thought Iron Man was the best Avenger. Everything with her felt so natural and after so long of feeling like he was surrounded by social climbers or people who wanted something by being in proximity to him, Nat felt like a much needed breath of fresh air.
The only time he had a frown the entire lunch was when Nat checked the time on her phone and told him she needed to get back to work but told him, “I shouldn’t have had that ice cream, I can already feel myself crashing.”
“You should have gone with the strawberry instead of chocolate and vanilla,” he chuckled, leaning back in his seat once he finished poking at his salad, finally admitting defeat. “That one looked pretty good.”
“Maybe if you’re around for lunch tomorrow we can try one then,” she offered as she wiped her lips with a napkin, raising an eyebrow at him.
“Sounds like a deal,” he nodded back, but quickly smirked. “Unless you almost ditch me like you did today.”
She rolled her eyes, sighing as she muttered, “Oh please, I was only a few minutes late.”
“Yeah but I had no idea where you were. You could have been ditching me,” he laughed as he remembered how many thoughts had taken center stage in his mind while he waited patiently for her to come to lunch earlier. “You better give me your number so I can make sure you’re on time tomorrow.”
She stared at him for several long moments, almost weighing the options in her mind before she finally said, “Only if you swear you won’t start texting me the minute the clock strikes twelve.”
“I will at 12:01, how about that?”
“C’mon Chris, you should know by now you have to give at least until 12:05, if not 12:10,” she laughed, and the grin that made its way onto her lips threatened to also arrive on his as he watched her from across the table.
“Alright, I’ll give you until 12:04 but that’s it,” he placated with a shake of his head, smiling as Nat pulled her phone out.
He watched as she tapped around on the screen a bit before she handed the phone to him, open to an empty contact for him to fill in. He did so silently, but before long she met his eyes from across the table and asked, “I’m going to regret giving you my number, aren’t I?”
“Probably, but it’s too late now,” he shrugged with a loud laugh, smirking at her playfully.
Tumblr media
Nat felt her foot softly tapping to the low beat of the music that hummed in the background of the outdoor bar. She was sitting hunched over a small round table with Mark on one side and James on the other while they all sipped their drinks, delving into the office gossip that had accumulated throughout the week and whatever other things they wanted to have time to fully talk about. It had been their Friday night tradition for years now and it was something they’d missed throughout the past year, but Nat felt so happy that they finally were here again huddled around a table while they animatedly talked.
They were in the middle of sharing a round of loud laughs when Nat felt Mark’s elbow in her ribs, nudging her as he whispered, “Don’t look now but that guy over at that table keeps scanning you.”
“Really?” Nat was surprised by the admission and had to ask, “Is he cute?”
“Yeah and he’s coming over so act natural,” Mark whispered quickly before leaning back in his chair to make it less obvious they had been talking about him.
She sat up a little, turning as she heard footsteps stop a few feet away. The man awkwardly waved from where he stood, distanced enough from them to be considered safe, but close enough that she could hear him over the music as he said, “Hi, I’m Calvin and I was just wondering if I could get you a drink.”
With an apologetic smile sent to Calvin, she gently turned him down by saying, “That’s so nice of you to offer, but no thank you.”
With a nod and a sheepish, embarrassed look, Calvin turned and headed back to his table, shaking his head as he reached his group of friends. Nat turned her attention back to her own table, taking a sip of her drink before she reached for more of the nachos sitting in the center.
“Excuse me, did you really just turn him down?” Mark had to clarify with wide eyes.
Nat just shrugged, tucking a piece of curly hair behind her ear, “Yeah, what’s the big deal?”
“He was gorgeous, that’s the big deal,” Mark retorted, a single eyebrow raised at Nat. “Seriously though if you don’t want him, I’ll go get his number for myself.”
“Seriously Nat, if you want to go over with him, you know we don’t care,” Jamie added, a slight smirk on his lips.
She shook her head, placating them and responding, “No, I’m good.”
“He’s been eyeing you all night, it might be a good opportunity.”
“I’m just not interested tonight,” she brushed off, shrugging her shoulders again.
“Wait, you’re not still upset about Shane the douchebag are you?” Jamie practically groaned before launching into his explanation, “Nat, him getting engaged so fast only shows it wasn’t right for you.”
“No, no, it’s not that,” Nat scrunched her nose up in response.
Silence fell over the small table before she saw Jamie lean back in his chair and exchange a look with Mark, the two of them seeming to having a silent conversation. It was driving Nat nuts that she had no idea what they were wordlessly discussing but once Jamie took a sip of his beer, he simply shrugged, “Maybe it has more to do with the guy who you had lunch with today,”
“Chris?” Nat asked, almost incredulous with wide eyes. When the guys nodded and shrugged back, she rolled her eyes, sarcastically adding, “Yeah right, that’s totally it.”
“C’mon Nat, we were having lunch at the same time and we saw you two. It was so obvious you guys were into each other. Even Katherine from the tech department made a comment about it,” Jamie couldn’t help but laugh.
Before she could even refute them, Mark chimed in with a point of his finger, “And don’t think we haven’t noticed you staring at him during the dailies when you think nobody is looking.”
“Okay, so he’s pretty. So what? I’m pretty sure 98% of America thinks so too,” Nat wouldn’t deny that she’d noticed him on more than one occasion but noted that, “It’s not like it matters.”
“Apparently it does if you’re turning down that guy over there with the way your love life has been,” Mark refuted her argument, raising his eyebrow as he noted, “You’ve been with what? One person since Shane?”
“Barely.”
“Exactly! So why aren’t you going over to that guy?” Jamie asked, his voice low so as to not draw attention despite his hands waving around wildly.
“Because she’s saving herself for Captain America,” Mark said while lifting his beer to his lips once again, causing Jamie to burst out in laughter at the comment.
She rolled her eyes and huffed, “Yeah because Chris Evans is just dying to get the weird Pixar artist into bed.”
“Well if he doesn’t, he’s certainly giving a good impression because he was flirting with you like crazy,” she saw the way Jamie looked at her pointedly, telling her that he wasn’t just teasing her and actually meant the words he was saying.
“In case you haven’t noticed, he flirts with literally everyone,” Nat pointed out just before she took a sip of her cocktail.
Mark made an indistinguishable grunt while sipping at his drink, holding up a finger before putting his glass back down on the table and piped in, “Not true, he hasn’t flirted with me.”
“That’s because he’s straight, Mark,” Jamie snickered.
“I know and that’s truly a tragedy,” Mark shook his head comically, causing another round of laughter to break out around the table. "I tried shooting my shot with him when he would stop by the marvel offices, but Feige was quite the cockblock.”
“And, you know, again… he’s straight,” Jamie reminded once again before motioning across the table, “And interested in Nat.”
“He’s not interested in me!” Nat insisted with an exasperated sigh, her jaw set tightly.
Jamie just shrugged, an annoying smirk on his lips before he went on, “Well even if he’s not, you’re interested in him.”
“Yeah me and every other female around,” Nat muttered as she mindlessly adjusted the coaster underneath her drink before she dramatically slumped in her chair. “But that’s what almost is like, the worst part, because he’s such a great person. He’s so much fun and a really genuine person, not to mention a great person to talk to and yet everyone just likes him because he’s gorgeous. I think that’s so sad.”
“Maybe you just need to show him there are girls out there who like him for who he is,” Mark was the one to point out honestly.
Jamie laughed, shaking his head as he said, “Um with that drool that is coming out of her mouth every time she looks at him, I’m guessing he knows she likes him.”
“Well in a couple weeks he’ll be done with his voice work so that’ll be the last we’ll see of him,” Nat knew that her words were painfully true, knowing that as much as she enjoyed spending time with him, it was going to end all too soon so she asked,  “So can we just drop it, please?
“Alright well when you’re ready to move on from dreaming of Chris, we’ll be your wingmen and find you someone to get your mind off of him.”
Nat had to laugh at Jamie’s comment which was solidified from a solid nod from Mark, and as they swiftly changed the subject to the latest happenings in Mark and Jamie’s personal lives, Nat knew that even though they were both in relationships, and Jamie had a kid, that these two were absolutely, without a doubt, her people. And while she was hesitant to reopen some doors, ones that had been locked away for nearly a year now, she couldn’t help but feel that something was coming her way, especially after how easy lunch felt, even with – as Mark would put it – Captain America.

Why it's the right time for a third season of The Spectacular Spider-Man
Tumblr media
While Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: The Animated Series were my introduction to the character of Spidey, Spectacular Spider-Man was how I truly fell in love with the character.
I was obsessed with the show as a child. I had nearly every action figure, I'd rewatch episodes (shoutout "Group Therapy", it's my favorite), and even tried to make the theme song my ringtone.
Tumblr media
As I went on in my years and consumed so much Spider-Man content, I always found myself comparing it to Spectacular Spider-Man.
Did the voice match as well as Keaton's, was the style of the character simple yet unique to what we've seen before, how are the quips?
I did this so much, that earlier this year I wondered if I was just wearing nostalgia glasses. That maybe I was misremembering as one does. So, I rewatched the entire show with my partner...
...and I was NOT.
Tumblr media
It is concise, it is beautiful, and every episode at the very least is fun. There is no villain that doesn't get their due, there is no arc that isn't important, and there is not a moment where Josh Keaton is embodying the best voice for Peter Parker or Spider-Man.
As you might've been able to tell by my Young Justice article, I am a huge fan of the storytelling ability of Greg Weismann. But I think it is really put on display in this show. Every beat feels important, most characters have solid arcs, and suspense and danger always feel real and earned.
Tumblr media
With my rewatch, Spectacular Spider-Man's recent inclusion in Across the Spider-Verse, and the fanbase continuing to rage on, I thought I'd put my two cents in as to why it's time this show is brought back.
Clearly I'm biased but I don't care.
1. New Villains
Tumblr media
Spectacular Spider-Man had a great way of bringing in classic villains and even B-list villains and making them iconic.
My favorite example of this was The Shocker, who in this version was also Montana, leader of the Enforcers.
By doing this, they made one of Spider-Man silliest enemies into a character who feels like the most qualified killer in every room he's in.
Because such time has passed since season 2, new and different Spider-Man villains have entered the zeitgeist. The Prowler, The Spot, and Mr Negative are great examples of villains who weren't well known when the show was originally going on.
Tumblr media
There were also several different villains teased during the 1st and 2nd season. The promise of Carnage, Hydro Man, Man-Wolf, and Hobgoblin never came to be, and fans of the show remember!
Tumblr media
Much like every character, several villains in the show were left on cliffhangers. Hammerhead and Silver Sable were left without any bosses. Harry was left fatherless. Black Cat hates Spider-Man for letting her father stay in prison. And New York was left without a Big Man.
It'd be very exciting to see who might take over after a situation like that.
2. New Heroes
Tumblr media
Unlike other superhero shows, Spectacular Spider-Man lacks many if any team ups.
Since it's cancellation, we have had several Spider-Verse crossovers, and Spider-Gwen and Miles Morales have entered the main stream.
Tumblr media
Making Gwen a Spider and introducing Miles into the friend group could add more tension to the Peter and Harry dynamic as he feels left out and an eerie feeling something is going on.
The potential for Spectacular Spider-Man to enter a wider Marvel universe is now possible, with Disney now owning the rights for television.
Tumblr media
We could see Peter join the Avengers, fight alongside Ms. Marvel, even switch bodies with Wolverine.
I'm not saying this SHOULD happen, but we do know that Greg Weismann knows how to build out a universe.
Tumblr media
3. Not Enough (Good) Animated Spidey Content
Tumblr media
Since Spectacular Spider-Man, we've had two different animated Spider-Man shows. Ultimate Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man.
While Ultimate Spider-Man had a silly interesting tone, and an overarching story that was interesting at times, it paled in comparison to what came before.
Tumblr media
Many of the characters lacked depth, and the jokes just didn't hit the same. But at least that show had charm.
Marvel's Spider-Man did not.
The animation was boring, the characters lacked the fun and whimsy of both the others, and every character felt exaggerated. It was painful to watch.
The next Spider-Man show we are getting is entitled Spider-Man Freshman year, set within the MCU.
Tumblr media
While it looks promising and different, due to the writers strike, the MCU constantly pushing projects back, and Marvel Studios constantly over working VFX and animation studios, I don't see this one coming out any time soon.
Which leaves a window for Spectacular Spider-Man to fill. We've gone too long without animated Spidey content on television!!
and most importanty:
4. Josh Keaton is just the Best Spider-Man
Tumblr media
Holland. Maguire. Garfield. Johnson. Lowenthal. Moore. The question keeps coming up. Who is the best Spider-Man?
But oh they are all wrong.
So soon the public forget how perfect Keaton's acting is. He nails the quips like Garfield. The inner monologues like Maguire. The awkward nerdiness like Holland. And he nailed the blacksuit storyline.
He perfected it all.
Keaton's Spider-Man is on pair with Kevin Conroy's Batman. It is the voice I hear when I read the comics, and it works on every level.
At 44, Keaton still sounds like Peter Parker, and could continue doing the show now as if it never ended. But frankly, we don't know how long that will last, or how long Keaton would be interested in continuing this version of the character. Now is the time to give him that call!
In this era of oh so many Spider-Men, it's time the king took back his crown. There's a reason he's the animated Spider-Man that made it into Across the Spider-Verse.
Now is the time to bring it back. The fans want it. Keaton wants it. It would be a win for everyone.
Let's just hope Disney isn't stupid enough to miss that.

Even more stupid silly rouges headcanons
[part 1] [part 2] [part 3] [part 4] [part 5] [part 6]
- Joker loves home renovation shows! He has kidnapped several famous home renovation show people to decorate his lair, and yes they do air the episode
- every once in a while, the rogues do tournament of champions style games against each other. It's all sorts of games! Some of their more intense ones have been tag, hide and seek, and capture the flag. Capture the flag ended in an armed stand off.
- Their ultimate game of games is an end of the year heist! The villains all get together and submit a suggestion for the heist target, and random drawing picks the theme. It's been a few different coveted objects from Gotham like fancy jewels, encrypted data files off GCPD computers, an entire art gallery, or it's also been silly stuff like movie props or a shipment of rare beanie babies. One year the target was Bruce Wayne and the whole night it was villains just kidnapping Bruce like princess peach. Low key, Bruce had fun (since he was literally in no danger) and he got to skip a really boring party! This later becomes a separate game/event they do too, it’s called “kidnap bruce wayne day”
- during a party once, Riddler and Scarecrow got so drunk they got dumb tattoos. Scarecrow has so many regrets but Riddler still thinks his is kinda cool
- Joker and Killer croc are unironic besties. Everyone thought he was befriending for a goof or a scheme (and he sorta was at first), but croc is kind of his ride or die. Joker made the two of them friendship bracelets and will stab people who make fun of croc
- Ivy is secretly into Disney kid pop punk and it's her biggest shame. She used to be a hardcore Hannah Montana kid. Only Harley knows and she loves to binge Disney shows with her. Harley’s ringtone for Ivy is the best of both worlds song
- all of the villains have guest starred/hijacked on several game shows. Riddler often shows up on Jeopardy, Joker hosted an episode of match game with all the rogues as the celebrities, and for some reason Bane was on press your luck (he actually auditioned and was approved)
- Harvey needs to drink more water and is bad about keeping up the habit, so all the rogues all subconsciously try to make sure he drinks enough water daily. Harley gets him a water bottle that shows how much you should drink per day, Penguin won't let anyone serve him alcohol @ the iceberg lounge unless he drinks one whole glass of water first in front of them, and a giant box of expensive bottled water is sent to him from “the man of puzzles” at least once a month
- Penguin has a self care blog where he posts about his emotional journey and no, he does not accept critiques of his blog format.
- Bane likes to color a kids menu while he waits at restaurants, tbh he likes to color in general because it's fun. The rogues get him coloring books
- Scarecrow and Riddler are friends even though neither will admit it. It was cemented when, by accident, Riddler tagged along on an unplanned Jonathan's hometown he didn’t want to even go on. It was a mess but high key made them best friends. They have one of those moments where they're sitting on a bench together and it's incredibly uncomfortable and riddler is like "so, you wanna talk about all your messy childhood bullshit or do you wanna go get waffles?" And Scarecrow is silent for a while, face in his hands before he replies, "of course I fucking want waffles." And they get to have so many waffles.
- Joker loves to be carried around, he will often just make goons drag him around when he's bored or feels like it. Sometimes he'll just start falling backwards or running at someone to catch him, because they just will. If they miss, he'll be a drama queen about it
- When Ivy needs Harley's attention, she shakes a container of mini m&ms
- When they have meetings Joker has a favorite seat. He will not yield for any other seat, ever.
- Harley and Joker play those rhythm clapping games like concentration when they're bored/waiting on stuff. They have the friendship of two 8th grade girls tbh
- It’s on Twoface’s bucket list to meet keith morrison from dateline, the rogues get him to come to a surprise birthday party one year and he squeals like a teenage girl
- Scarecrow secretly has a faint southern accent from his early early youth but he hides it really well. If he's tired or drunk enough, it slips out. The rogues love to ask him to say "cowboy stuff", and sometimes he'll indulge them
- Clayface sometimes like to just spend a long time living in a persona for fun, not crime related at all. Sometimes he spends months as an eccentric burger king employee who is two months away from graduating with an online degree to phoenix online university. He’s making a documentary about his experiences
- Riddler got Scarecrow a day planner as a joke/to make fun of his poor planning skills, but jokes on Eddie because he actually uses it!

I think Stiles should change Scott and Derek's ringtones to the song from Disneys Second Zombie movie that goes "I'm the Alpha, I'm the leader, I'm the one to trust Together we do whatever it takes, we're in this pack for life (awoo) We're wolves, we own the night"

I’m begging for a Fandom track by track pls
ok ok i've been delaying it for a while so why not for you anon. i have a lot of personal opinions about this one so it's probably gonna be way more biased than other track by tracks lol
cherry red - an intro that gives off this sort of dreamy epic 80s vibe if you weren't paying attention to the lyrics much. he uses a lot of color imagery entwined with the happenings of their relationship to lament it at this point and begin this cycle between mourning the relationship and getting caught up with living with being perceived by the public eye all during this. it's a good intro and i like the instrumentals - 8/10
watch what happens next - see this is one of those songs i'd like better as a song if the message didn't age badly and didn't make cringe really hard. the first lines already Aged. a criticism of fan consumption of their music and their place in the scene as rockers. blah blah blah awsten wants money and doesn't like the need for the rock scene to undersell themselves for approval but also i think some of your expensive clothes are ugly as shit awsten so what now. not to mention the poorly aged second verse about hiphop and genre mixing (specifically with a jealous dig at old town road) considering the other factors associated with hip hop and how the soundcloud emo rap scene of the time slowly evolved into the "emo revival" we see today that bolstered parx's current relevancy tbh (they opened for my chem and are playing wwwy fest this year hello). but anyways as a song it's fine; the sassy guitars pull more punches than the lyrics end up doing and maybe i'm proving the point of the lyrics even if they're poorly aged but god shut up sometimes awsten - 5/10
dream boy - this is legitimately the only fandom song i can listen to regularly LMAOOO. i heard this in public before because they put this on radio disney it was terrifying. anyways back to the song. it's a poppy song about fan expectations and how awsten exists differently in fans' heads than in reality. i think this is one of the few songs that i think hit the mark of satirizing fans completely bc. i won't lie i do this completely whoops (i'm an rpf writer and run this blog what else do you expect of me). i don't think some fans realize the irony of using this song against each other whenever some awsten related drama comes up considering they usually have an even more warped view of him but. i digress. also justice for glitter times your pre chorus will forever live on here... - 8/10
easy to hate - another song about the breakup hence all the color imagery and apparently originally a friendly reminder song. not much to note here; it's a catchy little song that plays with some of the elements he used to write about ciara in the past to get this anti love song. i guess you could argue the chorus could also apply to parasocial relations hence the music video and everything but yeah. fine song. intro synths remind me of an old ringtone. - 7/10
high definition - i get the ode to imogen heap's hide and seek with this song and i can appreciate that but for me it's just so...eh. lyrically it's a song that follows awsten's struggles with trying to find love in a post-ciara world. there's some interesting lines here and there but nothing truly hits for me and sometimes i think about the lyric "now i'm canceled, i'm whatever" at random times and cringe.
not to mention the extreme cringe i get from what he said about the song in the rocksound track by track:
There’s a song that’s all, ‘Back then hoes didn’t want me, now I’m hot hoes all on me’ [Mike Jones’ ‘Back Then’] – but not in like a bragalicious way. It’s an, ‘I’m like really lonely, I hate all of this’, kind of way. It’s like that.
why. you do not have hoes. shut up. get ready for more of awsten's white ass making cringey rap references bc there's one later on none of us are gonna like. i think i have personal beef with this song bc i had a sign for wwdff at my show, he looked at it, and then he did this in complete and nothing else. - 4/10
telephone - a love song (about some girl he never talked to at a target). considering he has all this written about a person he made up traits in his mind, it makes sense why all the true love songs by parx are probably just about the concepts of people that aren't technically real if you think about it. musically, its piano riffs takes its cues from 60's pop before evolving into this sparkly fun chorus. tbh it's just fine to me and i used to think the obsessive love song thing about a stranger was weird but now i've written 10x more messed up fanfic about him so i can't even judge that too hard. blah blah can also tie into themes of fan perception and falling in love with a concept once again yeah i think it's just a fine song. i just like when otto says the ending at live shows. - 6/10
group chat - this isn't even a fuckin song. and according to the genius lyrics page this is what it means:
He strongly implies that the song is about fake friendships between famous figures, where people may often pose as friends purely for the sake of sharing it online. This phenomenon that has grown more rampant in the modern world as those in the public eye partake in this practice as a means of boosting popularity on social media. This also occurs within the music industry itself, when companies chose to featuring artists purely to maximize the buzz surrounding the song.
i'm just more focused on the fact that this is the first time otto's been mentioned by name in the parx discography and it wasn't even by awsten. isn't that fucked up. - n/a (not a fuckin song)
turbulent - i can distinctly remember my first time listening to this with my friend after choir class and we both came to the same conclusion: the song was stupid except for the ending when he stopped singing. this is still how i feel about the song. that opening line is so goddamn stupid and i still don't think patrick stump knows he's in this song or who waterparks is. did you know if ciara didn't like fall out boy as much he probably would've compared himself to ryan ross and brendon urie? nightmare. this is one of the songs i pit to at live shows because when you pit, you don't actually listen to the song. it has better energy live than it does recorded but i'm not rating the live version though. i think the production is much cooler than literally anything else in this stupid song with it's breakcore beats and random dogs - 5/10
never bloom again - remember when awsten teased this song for years saying this song would be the one making people cry and now years later no one talks about it that much. "all the girls in los angeles look like you from a distance", honey you date the same blonde clone with different mental illnesses every time i don't know why you're so surprised at this. i think there are some interesting lines here and there, i just feel like its strengths are staying simple in its verses because the chorus feels kinda corny with the extra stuff on top of everything because of that cervini style of big production. - 5/10
i miss having sex but at least i don't wanna die anymore - i miss when this title leaked and we thought this was fake. i hate this song and everything it stands for i'll just say it. the true beginning of awsten using annoying blunt lyrics out of fear of being misinterpreted because media literacy in most places has gone downhill and it's supposed to be honest by making fun of what fans want of him as well as airing out his relationship in a way. god he sounds so annoying in here and i get that's supposed to be the point but goddddddd. musically it's just some pop folk song but none of you care about that i know you want to know the other stuff. this song is probably the start to the end with it going viral on tiktok and beginning the divide between fans that became fans through the scene and fans that found them through tiktok. i fucking hate this song and its impact on parx today and the fact that it's their most popular song and a mainstay of the setlist will forever make me bitter because they have so many better songs and also christmas is more popular on tiktok and he still refuses to play it because he is a pussy - 0/10
war crimes - ok back to songs i can stomach. a driving song about awsten dealing with his peers in the scene and his isolation with his real friends being back home in texas while he moved to la. along with this, he still has to balance his feelings with the breakup all while being perceived by the public. it mostly deals with awsten truly having to become independent of all of these things and stand up for himself (no i still don't know who the coke thing is about there's too many people). musically, it shifts a lot of different ways from the light chorus to the more brooding verses. good song. - 7/10
[reboot] - he's white boy rapping again. this is never a good thing. it's literally just a breakup song again shocker. throws a lot of digs at ciara with wordplay that i can't really hear unless i read the lyrics because it sounds he's scatting. i just remember this song bc i remember he made a whole deal about how he was trying to avoid being misogynistic on this album bc of the subject matter (specifically calling girls a bitch) and then he used the chew toy metaphor to indirectly call her a bitch anyways. yeah. i think some parts of the production are interesting specifically the stuttering halts in the second verse but other than that. whatever. - 3/10
worst - i remember when the original demo leaked because it was around the same time of the felony steve mixtape. it was a weird time. has some of the Lyrics of All Time and i mean this in a bad way. remember when i said awsten makes some cringy rap references this is one of the ones i mean:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
why. why. why. this is not a line that works when you're white. i think the chorus in the album version sounds more interesting at least production wise. does that mean it's a good song? no. this is a song that makes me hold the bridge of my nose and go "oh god why this is clearly something you wrote in the moment" - 4/10
zone out - a chiptune reprise of the dream boy chorus. awsten says that putting it at this point in the album is meant to come off sarcastic, but to me i feel like it sounds more defeated than anything. more of a "what now?" moment. i like it, sue me. - 6/10
i felt younger when we met - the beginning and ending to the cycle of his relationship with ciara and his fans watching. here, he mourns the things he misses about her and the things he did for her. it's the emotional core of the album combining the heavy electronics strung throughout the album with the big guitar led chorus leading the album back to the beginning because things just don't stop at that point. it's a great closer that does its job of being the emotional crux of the album of losing someone you end up making up and missing over and over - 8/10
i'll be honest with you i haven't listened to fandom in full since it actually leaked in 2019. i brushed off the album at the time because me and my friends had our own little drama with awsten (and his la friends who aren't even his friends anymore ironically) because he was tiring. trying to preach ideas and people that would do the same things he hated because he was away from his real friends back home. i was tired of what he was trying to come off as.
nowadays i'm still tired of him sometimes, but i think his time offline has made the idea of him more palatable; when he's not trying to quip with the sardonic teens that make up his fans today, it's easier to remember him as a person. when he's not online, he's probably buying groceries or having lunch with a friend, working and writing music in his apartment or a studio.
it begs the question on an album named fandom (that doesn't call out its fanbase nearly as much as deal with the emotional turmoil of a breakup) on how we perceive each other and how that can come crumbling down when reality hits. i can try and compartmentalize awsten the ideal and awsten the reality in my head, but do most people even realize that divide should be there?
it's probably the thing to comment on considering the existence of this blog, the way it lives in surveillance from both fans and the band + associates themselves because we say things that aren't nice but are true or just straight up fuck around for fun. the fourth wall between fans and creators grows more blurred and blurred with each day. there's something to comment on this about cycles of hypocrisy from everyone on all sides but i'll leave it at this: whatever we do on here, whether make a joke or point, becomes some fodder for spectacle in the same way awsten posts on any of his accounts. it's a cycle.
i won't lie, i still think this album sucks. most of the songs just don't hit the mark for me or are just straight up embarrassing and half the time i want to shake awsten and tell him “you are not kanye west, you are a bitch ass white boy from cypress”. however as an album, it does feel like one big piece all puzzled in together. it loops from beginning to end.
and the cycle keeps going on and on..... - iz

Since putting my notification to Alastor's ''tuuune on iiin...''
It has been both a source of mocking disdain and echolalia for the nephew. He hates it when I do anything geeky. Makes fun of me every time he sees my wallpaper or the notification goes off.. bitched all the time about my beetlejuice background before too 🤨 Same with the attemped arts too.. 😣 I'm trying not to get a complex..
My notes were going off in rapid succession so fam was asking about it. ''I'm like yeah I got a new ringtone too'' and immediately my sister calls so it goes off 😆 Its just the ''Da DA, da Da DA-da!'' chorus bit from Insane. Love that song.
Omfg the utter glee I had finding Alastor songs. I live for image songs of my favorite characters its the fucking best even if they're fan made
Speaking of the blorbos, I was working on my crochet so I needed something I could listen to but not need to watch the screen. Already saw Hazbin so YES.
And as soon as it finished up, nephew restarted it for himself.
After identifying which episode he needed to avoid because thank goodness he's not interested in the sexual stuff. Of course the bad words are fun. I noticed we giggled at a few of the same things 😁
My sister was in the room. I had told her how much of a disney princess Charlie was. The first song she's like omg you're right. Weve come to the agreement she's exactly like Anna. 😆

TWST: What ringtones would Yuu/MC put under different characters when one of them calls Yuu/MC… (Part 2/3)
Hear me out: Disney songs as ringtones for the entire NRC.
Scarabia:
Jamil - “Arabian nights Like Arabian days More often than not are hotter than hot In a lot of good ways”
Kalim - “Now, try your best to stay calm Brush up your Friday salaam Then come and meet his spectacular coterie”
Pomefiore:
Epel - “I make perfect, practiced poses So much hides behind my smile What could I do if I just grew what I was feeling in the moment?”
Rook - “You're alone And you're scared But the banquet's all prepared No one's gloomy or complaining While the flatware's entertaining”
Vil - “Don't you see that Bigger is better And better is bigger? A little bit is never enough No, no, no”
Ignihyde:
Ortho - “Joined at the hip, yeah your sidekick needs you Life is a trip and the road map leads you”
Idia - “They say we are what we are, but we don't have to be I'm bad behavior but I do it in the best way”

List eight shows for your followers to get to know you!
I was tagged by @yoongihan and @still-with-koo! Thank you both!!
The Night Of - this is literally one of my, if not my favorite show of all time. I rewatched it recently and it was still just as good. It's honestly influenced the way I write a lot of my fics (eg. spy au, mafia au) in that it doesn't get caught up in technicalities but focuses on the relationships at the center of it. Not to mention the score is amazing and the theme song is my ringtone 💁🏻‍♀️
The Originals - I stand by it when I claim that season 1 of The Originals is one of the best seasons of TV ever created. It's perfect in terms of family dynamics, romance, action, fantasy, etc. TO is far superior than The Vampire Diaries imo.
Ms. Marvel - this was more than a superhero show to me. Like a show about a Pakistani family airing on something as mainstream as Disney? When I say I cried watching this because I saw myself in it, I mean it, and I need another season ASAP (none of this crossover MCU movie bs).
Tere Bin - I had to include a Pakistani drama and if you know anything about this one, you know it had the people stresseddd lord. Tuning in every week was a mix of both enjoyment and pain, just watching the twists and turns this show would take, but it made for a fun watching experience with my family.
Sweet Home - I love this show so much I watched it on my own and then rewatched it with all my friends later. The dynamics in season 1 were so good (forever crying about Jae-Heon) and I can't wait to see where they take it in season 2!
Grey's Anatomy - would this list even be complete without Grey's? It is by far the most immersed I've ever been in a TV show ever. I wrote a whole fic series based on it, and no matter what stupid things the doctors of Grey Sloan get up to each season, they'll always have me tuning in
North and South - that kiss scene! I still think about it okay? I'm not okay.
One Tree Hill - this show was wild, but I do credit it with being the first show that really got me into TV, like I remembering sneaking into the living room late at night when my parents were asleep and watching the DVR recordings I set up just so I could know what happens next.

Hello!!!
For the TOH ask game: 5, 8, 11, 16 ✨
(Here is the ask game for those who want to follow and ask!)
Omg thank you!!
5.) Favorite platonic relationship?
I think personally it comes down to three, but I'll choose Collector and King for now. I just feel like there's this sibling energy that makes me feel warm inside seeing them be around one another in the aftermath before timeskip. I know we don't see as much of Collector as we did of King through the show, but those two definitely have some kind of bond that just hits different for me. Lilith and Hooty are tied though for that. I love both of their dynamic (King & Collector and Lilith & Hooty's)
8.) Any headcanons? If so, which are your favorite?
Oh that's kinda tough because I do have a lot of thoughts but on the spot its hard to list. I'll give a few, perhaps off the top of my head.
Willow can heal Hunter with plant magic
I definitely think the curse in some way that affects Eda and Lilith is connected to The Titan. Harpy forms. Their eyes are like his, not saying that they ARE Titans but there's got to be some adjacent thing. Wtf is with those eyes.
Somehow like Amity's nickname "Mittens" Luz gets coined with the name "Gloves" because she has a habit of misplacing them when it's cold.
Darius's pailsman is his hair goop.
Amity is allergic to human realm cats.
Vee and Masha met at camp when Vee was "Luz" however while at camp Masha suffered with insomnia and would frequent sneak out. Vee however would also find herself in this situation and in that meet up, she'd be the form we see her as in s3 and not in the fake Luz. Her keeping that a secret in a sense that Masha only finds Vee at night when they sneak out, but they can never find her in the daytime because she's imitating Luz. Does that make sense? Idk. Masha knew Vee at camp, not just as Luz. They can't remember correctly because it was dark and sleep deprivation.
I also think there could be a version of a Caleb's diary at the historical society
11.) Any songs from the soundtrack that stick out to you?
The ending theme. Both the timeskip outro and the main ending theme. I have the ep end theme as my ringtone to my phone, but the finale's ending dude... That made me cry. All the feelings.
16.) Common theory that you disagree with?
I don't really have an answer for this. I've thought about this hard, but I think if anything it'd be the whole "TOH needs to be rebooted right now!!" or "Disney should do something with the IP"
I don't think so. I heavily disagree with everything having to do with Disney carrying the brand forward and pray that they don't. I think TOH ended fine, and as much as I'd love for a continuation or spin off-- I do not want it if Dana is not a part of the process. If she and the other lovely creators aren't apart of that process, then I literally do not care. It's Dana or nothing for me. TOH ended in a spot that was fine, and I wish it had a full season, but I don't want anything more from it if Dana isn't on the team. Including the fact that I still do have so many questions for the story. There IS a lot still to be done if she wants it, and I think if anything Disney should just give her the ip (damn laws!!) but if Dana isn't creating it then its meh. It's not TOH.

and now... in honor of the modern au sanemi os having surpassed... *drumroll*... the 10k word mark *hold for applause* (thank you thank you) i shall bother you with THOUGHTS
modern au kamaboko squad and their childhood trauma movies (heavily inspired by me and my friends)
tanjiro: harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban - listen zenitsu said it was good (he had a crush on emma watson) and their parents wouldn't find out anyway (they watched it at a sleepover when they were seven and eight respectively) so tanjiro let himself get talked into it. long story short they both ended up crying and running to zenitsu's grandpa when the dementors showed up and tanjiro never let zenitsu pick a movie again.
zenitsu: every movie was scary to him as a kid disney's hercules, seeing meg get crushed by that pillar gave him nightmares for MONTHS.
inosuke: little inosuke was too busy running around outside and eating things not meant for human digestion to bother with movies but he watches princess mononoke at tanjiro's birthday when they're fourteen and ends up being so distraught by the death of the forest god that he joins green peace.
nezuko: her mother took her to watch a princess lillifee movie when she was four and she ended up crying because they were the only ones in the theater and that scared her. (true story, except i didnʼt have a meltdown over it and my mom told me years later that she wished i had gotten scared so she would've had an excuse to walk out of the movie)
genya: sanemi had a sleepover with mitsuri when genya was nine and they were watching pirates of the caribbean. genya had hidden under sanemi's bed to spook them but then he couldn't come out and ended up sobbing when the ghost pirates showed up and then sanemi and mitsuri spent the rest of the evening consoling him and watching lego ninjago to help him calm down. (genya doesn’t like pirates now and sanemi knows it's mean but he thinks it's kinda funny)
kanao: kanae LOVES old disney movies and tried to drag all of her little sisters into it until five year old kanao watched snow white with her and got so freaked out at the entire final fight against the evil queen that they had to turn off the movie. kanao slept in kanae's bed for two weeks and she never actually finished the movie.
aoi: watched mulan when she was six and couldn't sleep properly for weeks. she told everyone who asked that it was the huns that scared her but she was actually super paranoid that mushu would crawl under her blanket in the night and bite her. he was her monster under the bed until she was like thirteen and she would rather die than tell anyone about this.
AHHH YAY!!! :D I'm so hyped for you and your work friend!
KJRKJEKJRJERKJEJKRJKE HELP! I relate so hard to Tanjiro and Zenitsu in that; those freaking dementors messed me UP when I was a kid! Nowadays I find them pretty neat, but little 9 year old Squiggily? Nope, not happening akjrekjajkr
AND OOF- I haven't seen Hercules, but I can imagine how scary that scene was holy-
HELP INOSUKE KJWJREJKRJKER He's sitting there eating a bug he found while watching the movie- that scene comes on and he's absolutely distraught and can't even look at the bugs he usually watches for awhile.
KEKRKJEKJRJEKRJKEJRJE The anxiety is real, I feel you Nezuko! (and good lord the movie was that bad? kjarkekjrajkrjkeajkrj No but really that's both adorable and utterly hilarious kjarkjeakjr)
OH NO GENYA!!! Poor little guy; all was fine and good until those ghost pirates showed up! Sanemi probably has the caribbean theme song set for his ringtone whenever Genya calls him. No one gets it cause Sanemi rarely talks about the movie and Genya's too embarrassed by the childhood memory to explain akjrjkeajkr
OH NO KANAO! Bless her- that scene was pretty intense! Though the idea of her sharing a bed with her older sister is beyond wholesome oh my goodness kjaerjkajkrajke I like to think she eventually finished the movie as an adult- or at the very least in highschool but still gets freaked out over it somewhat.
OH AOI! I think she'd really love Mulan besides that part cause Mulan herself is so amazing- she's got that complicated relationship cause she watches it but also gets paranoid whenever she does for the Mushu reasons until like you said, 13.
These are absolutely amazing and now I wanna share a few to add to it hehe!
Giyu: He watched The Nightmare Before Christmas with Sabito when they were around 11; everything was fine until Boogie got his sack ripped off and all the bugs came out. He has a somewhat mild fear of bugs since- if there's one in the apartment he'll text Sabito a picture of it with a "Help."
Shinobu: She doesn't get scared of movies too often but that one scene in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure where Large Marge made The Face (TM) freaked her out so badly she had nightmares for weeks. It's on her "Will burn it before I watch it again" list.
Akaza: You know that blue trumpet thing from Courage The Cowardly Dog? "You're not perfect"? That whole show was a time but like- that one thing was the kind of scary it creeped up on Akaza. He watched it, and slowly over the course of a few days he was too scared to touch the VCR tape of the cartoon. He still quotes things from the show- mainly King Ramsey quotes cause he found it funny. (Plus it freaks Douma out jarkjeakjrje)
Thank you for sharing these- they were absolutely DELIGHTFUL! (And I got your Askeladd ask friend! I'm just really slow to reply to things lately lols)

Here is my recap of the Howard Bamboo (Kent Avenido) episode of the podcast.
Kent is smarter then Howard.
This is another example of art imitating life and life imitating art.
Everyone loves him.
Tiktok and Disney+ have created a whole new group of fans.
People still call Kent, Howard Bamboo.
Kevin’s boyfriend started to quote Howard when Kevin told him Kent was going to be on the show. It freaked out Kevin because he didn’t know his boyfriend watched glee.
Kent originally addiction for Coach Ken Tanaka. He went through all the auditions and didn’t get it but the creators liked him enough to rewrite a part for him.
Howard was originally Ginny a 20 something with bad roots.
Kent was told he looked too young for Ken Tanaka.
He said Patrick Gallagher played Ken perfectly.
Kent can sing.
He did 4 musical numbers on glee.
He didn’t have to sing in his auditions.
Ryan asked Kent if he could sing while they were filming the pilot.
Kent grew up doing musical theater.
They sang For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow live.
Kent said it was so much fun doing the musical numbers.
He didn’t know if Howard would come back after the pilot.
Every episode Howard was in was with Terri (Jessalyn).
It was a dream to be on set .
He knew after seeing a viewing of the pilot he knew the show as something special.
Howard was always in his Sheets and Things uniform.
Panda Express owes something to Kent for all that free promotion.
Poor Howard had a lot going on.
Kent was raised in a family of doctors. His dad and brothers are doctors and his mom and sisters are nurses. He was planning on going on med school. He has two science degrees. He has a minor in fine arts. He got waitlisted and while he was waiting he decided to pursue acting. He went to New York with dreams of being a big Broadway star. His dreams changed and he moved to LA because he wanted to do more film, tv, and commercials.
He didn’t know anyone when he moved to LA.
His initials ambition was to become a cardiologist.
He secretly always wanted to be an actor but didn’t think it was possible.
He took the risk and it paid off.
He has worked on shows like Grace and Frankie, Superstore, and The Mentalist.
Booking gigs is the hardest part of the job.
Howard Bamboo has both helped and hurt Kent’s career. He was getting a lot of notoriety which made getting commercial work hard. That notoriety helped him get roles after glee though.
Playing Howard was easy.
Kent can watch the pilot on repeat. He also likes watching musical numbers.
At one point Poison was his ringtone.
Kevin’s parents use songs he has sung as their ringtones.
Kent enjoyed getting to meet all the adult characters.
He didn’t get to meet Josh Groban. He met him years later at a concert.
Glee was so good at getting people to show their different talents.
Patrick Gallagher was nervous about singing.
Adam Anders and the music department were good at making people sound good even on their bad days.
Kent’s last episode was the 2009 episode at the end of season 6.
He said it brought good closure to his time on the show.
It was really special for the whole cast to do the 2009 episode. It was a way of bringing it back to the start and getting closure all at the same time.
Chris Colfer was a baby at the beginning of the show and by the end everyone was seasoned pros.
Kevin said that just means assholes and everyone laughed.
Kent’s advice to people looking to start out in show business is you have to have a love for it. If you don’t this business willl chew you up and spit you out. You have to rely on that love to get you through the bad times. Just keep going and don’t give up. It you really love it the good times will be so worth it.
Everybody loves Howard Bamboo.
Kent is the absolute best.
Jenna and Kevin said it is nice to get to talk to these actors that played characters they didn’t really get to work with on the show.
