Heyo! Anyone want some Lin Fanart? :D
Here you go!
Tumblr media
I'd like to think this is right after Suyin hurt her and Lin may or may be blinded 👀💧
I'm not exactly good with expressions but I wanted to show Lin in both pain but also the anger and hate in her eyes.
All art belongs to me. If reposted plz credit!
Accidentally written a little one shot that's horrible. I meant to take a nap but just sat in my living room typing this and munching on food!
Enjoy- tho I doubt it'll be good 💀
Suyin would undoubtedly be upset she hurt her sister, but wouldn't be prepared to see this expression. An expression she's never seen on Lin before and is possibly ingrained in her mind forever.
Suyin would go to help Lin but Lin would refuse to let Suyin any closer and literally build a wall preventing Suyin from getting close.
Toph shows up and asking what happened, comforts Suyin upon feeling the little ones erratic heart beating all before Suyin tells her mother she's sorry and that Lin's hurt.
Toph goes to see what happens and all she hears is Lin barking at the healer to just do what they can and a slam of a door closing. Toph could sense something is wrong with Lin and can tell she'd faint at any moment if she don't step in only for Lin to hold her hand up at her mother and tells her, "Not now."
Before Toph could say anything Lin tosses her metal coils down on the ground and telling Toph that they'd need to be upgraded and that it's best for everyone in the facility to get them reworked.
Lin's face begins to swell up, the blood is trickling onto the ground and the healer helplessly following Lin around as she's barking orders but is starting to sway and almost faint.
Toph ends up freezing Lin in her place with her metal armor just to help the poor healer out and demands Lin to tell her what happened.
Lin straining too much and only just begins to fall to her knees as she can't fight against her mother in the state she's in, her heart aches, her face feels in agony and she feels ready to fall asleep.
The next thing she knows, she wakes up in a dimly lit room. She could smell the incense and the sandal wood and the light smell of spring in the air. She could hear yelling down the hallway between her aunt and mother, Suyin screaming that it was Lin's fault and of course the numbing pain on Lin's face.
She knew what happened and knew how bad the wound was. She didn't need a healer to tell her how bad the wound was because she felt it, could already sense her other senses strengthening.
With a sigh the metalbender slowly turned her head which made the blood in her head pump and practically caused her brain to ache as she tried to look out the window.
It took too long for Lin to focus and could see the sun had set a bit ago. She'd sit up and leave if she could but just the thought of it hurt Lin's head and she didn't want to go through that pain.
"We don't arrest family!!"
"And look what happened! Agni Toph, Lin got hurt and Suyin's in shambles! I'm not asking you to arrest Suyin I'm just asking you to help her. Ground her! She needs a mother Toph, not an absent one!"
"If I need any advice from you I'd ask! It's just a scratch, Beifong's don't get hurt!-"
"Mom?-"
"-And what do you know about raising kids Sugar Queen? Your two oldest couldn't wait to leave you and where are they now?!"
"-Aunt Katara?-"
"-That's not fair and you know it! They're grown up! Let them do as they and ex- you know what? Forget it! Since you're blind to see what's in front of you I'll tell you! Lin hates you and you don't know why! You're so concerned about your job, about your name, about your position, about metalbending that you forgot what's important!"
"And what's so important huh?!"
"That Lin is important too!"
The silence is what stung Lin the most. Maybe it was the hesitance or maybe the fact that her mother took a whole 10 seconds to finally respond. It was enough for Lin to realize her mother never saw Lin on any level of importance in a very long time.
"So what. She's a big girl, she doesn't need me. She didn't need me when she started tying her shoes, she don't need me now."
Lin sighed felt tears prickle in her eye before quietly crawling out of bed and out the window. She made her way down to the beach and sat down mauling over her aunt and mother's words.
Maybe her mother was right. Maybe Lin was the first to start pushing everyone away. Maybe she forgot what family was. It would make sense why her mother and younger sister were close and how she wasn't. Maybe Lin stopped being apart of the family once she realized she was nowhere near the same as them. When she was the one ruining their fun and becoming a "party pooper."
And even if that was true, even if it were very much apparent, it didn't hurt any less. People used to tell her how much her mother and her were alike. Nicknaming her Little Toph or Tiny Beifong. That she was going to be just like her mother and become a great metalbender.
She thought that since she looked like her mother, became an officer like her mother, bent the same stones as her mother, that she and her would share a bond. A bond that no one would understand but them.
It hurt her once Suyin was born, it was like Toph and her clicked right away and suddenly Lin wasn't Little Toph anymore. She became Miss cranky pants or miss you're-not-Suyin's-mom. She was no longer little Chief but an annoyance to her and her mother. A nag that ruined the fun.
The more people saw Suyin and Toph together the more they said Suyin was exactly like her. Rough, abrasive, strong, stubborn and a powerful metalbender.
A metalbender. Lin just realized why her mother favored Suyin over her. It was because Suyin was a great metalbender. Maybe that's why she loved Suyin more than her.
Lin ran her fingers through the coarse sand and stared up at the moon. Was she always this different? Was she ever in the spotlight to begin with? Lin didn't know but she knew she'd have to accept that she'll never be good enough. Even as she thought these things, Toph was probably taking care of Suyin because she was upset.
Maybe one day Lin would be a true Beifong and everything will be fixed. One day where she was just liked her mother and sister and they could be happy. One day where she didn't become a buzz kill.
Maybe one day she'll be a great metalbender that was worth her mother's time. She just hoped it was soon rather than later. She didn't want to be the only one left behind.

Older Eddie Munson x fem!reader
Tumblr media
A/N: Look at me pumping out two fics within like a day and a half. Be proud of me. I decided to try out the Older Eddie hype since I've seen these fics everywhere lately. I hope I did the whole trend justice. It's a little short, but I didn't want to write a huge fic and just wanted to get straight into the shit y'all wanna read anyway.
Side Note: I deleted this cause I wasn't super proud of it at first, but I'm reposting this because I feel like it definitely could've done better than it did. Not to be cocky or anything.
Credit to @patrick-stewart for the gif!
Warnings: SMUT 18+!! MINORS FUCK OFF! Porn with a little bit of plot. Not much plot in this. Older Eddie Munson (early 30's), Younger reader (mid 20's), language. No use of Y/N. Strange guy tried to grind up against reader on the dance floor. I think that's it. ______________________________________________________________
You were kind of a hermit. You didn’t like to go out much and parties just weren’t your scene. You obviously went out occasionally, but it was probably once a month if that. It’s not that you hated people, you were just focused on your college work and trying to keep up good grades. Your best friends Robin, Nancy, and Steve were avid party goers. They always tried to get you to go out with them, but being the youngest of the group and the only one still in school, there just wasn’t much free time to go out with them. Tonight was different though. It was the end of the semester and all grades were final so you could finally let loose a little. Your friends were taking you out to a concert. It was for a band you hadn’t heard of before, but they said it was an old friend they all had from high school.
“Girl, you look great, don’t even.” Nancy looked at you and smiled. You were wearing an outfit you usually didn’t. Most of your outfits consisted of jeans and sweatshirts, not short tight skirts and tank tops like this. You frowned and looked at yourself in the mirror again.
“You sure?” You pulled the skirt down a little. “Seems a little… skimpy.”
“Trust me, you will be getting laid tonight wearing that. Trust me.” Robin announced, barging in the room uninvited. She looked you up and down and gave you a thumbs up. “You ready? Steve and I are ready to leave.” Nancy nodded and pulled her shoes on before walking out. You sighed and followed the two girls out.
You got to the club the band was performing at and noticed it was packed. There were huge groups of people everywhere. Girls wearing tight band tees and skirts that pretty much showed their whole ass. It smelled like sweat and vodka. Kinda made you gag a little, but you toughed through it. Nancy led you over to the bar to order drinks for everyone while Steve and Robin claimed a booth. You two walked back with the drinks and you slid in the booth next to Robin. You were all talking when a tall man with long brown curly hair, a guitar strapped across her shoulder, and had a t-shirt of the band on it.
“Eddie!” Nancy stood up and hugged him tight. Steve fist bumped him and Robin gave him a high five. Steve introduced you to Eddie and you noticed he stared a little longer than normal. You blushed softly and nervously sipped your fruity drink when he complimented you. “We’re super excited you’re finally performing here! We missed being able to see you.” Nancy scooted over so Eddie could slide in next to her.
“Yeah, missed seeing you guys! This will be good, I promise.” Eddie chuckled and stole a sip from Steve’s drink. Steve scowled and snatched the drink back.
Eddie soon left and the rest of you got up to get close to the performance. You were so nervous. The spark you felt with Eddie was such a huge shock, now you were scared to be so up close to him. The performance started and you didn’t notice how hard you were biting your lip while staring at Eddie until you tasted blood. He glanced at you and smirked while playing the guitar when he saw the blood on your bottom lip. You blushed and looked down. When he started singing you were dancing with Robin while Steve was dancing with Nancy. Eddie’s eyes were on you like a hawk. God, he couldn’t look away. That tight skirt you were wearing was riding up while you swayed your hips. He could almost see the bottom of your black lacy panties.
At the end of the performance, you were still dancing with Robin. You felt someone come up behind you and the strange hands held you tight against the body behind you. You turned your head and saw a weird man practically drooling at you and grinding up against your ass. You pushed him off and Robin stepped between the two of you. He put up a fight with Steve until suddenly he was thrown on the ground. Eddie pushed him to the ground and got security to kick him out.
“You okay?” Steve looked at you and put his hands on your shoulders. You nodded and smiled.
“Yeah. He didn’t do anything serious.” He nodded and let go of you.
The group, with Eddie, sat back down at your booth and Eddie slid in next to you, pushing up close to you so Robin could fit in next to you two. Your breath caught in your throat. He smelled like sweat and faded cologne. It was a scent you could get addicted to. It was dangerous. You learned Eddie was 32. He was a little older than the rest of the group, but that just made him all that much hotter.
“How’d you meet these idiots?” Eddie asked, looking at you with a smile and a tenderness in his eyes.
“Oh, I met Robin when she was graduating and the rest of them kind of just took me in.” You looked down at your drink and sipped it. Eddie put an arm around your shoulder and pulled you close to him, squeezing you slightly.
“Well, any friend of these people is my friend.” You chuckled nervously and glanced up at him.
Steve was talking about something that happened at his job when you felt Eddie’s hand on your thigh. You gulped nervously and felt him run his fingers in soft circles on your inner thigh. You bit the inside of your lip when he leaned a little closer into you. He squeezed your thigh and raised his hand higher. You put your hand on his, stopping him from going further. He cleared his throat and kept his hand on your knee.
The group had all gotten up to dance and Eddie took your hand, pulling you with him. You gasped softly when he pulled your back into his chest and held onto your hips, swaying the both of you to the music. You bit your lip and shut your eyes, leaning your head back on his shoulder. He ran his hand up your thigh and over your belly, lightly rubbing your breasts over your shirt.
“Eddie…” You moaned softly and he leaned his head down, kissing the side of your neck. You reached a hand back and tangled it in his hair. He tucked his fingers into the top of your skirt and squeezed your ass with the other one. He kissed up your neck and pressed his lips against your ear.
“Feel good, sweetheart? Everyone’s looking at us. Some of the girls look like they wanna kill you.” He flipped you around and you gasped, wrapping your arms around his neck. He grinned and grabbed your ass with both hands, pressing your hips more up against him. “Such a pretty girl…”
You moaned softly and he pressed his forehead against yours, grinding harder against you to the music. “Eddie… please…”
He grinned and grabbed your hand, pulling you to the bathroom. He locked the door and pressed you up against the sink. His lips crashed down on yours and you groaned into his mouth, kissing him back almost immediately. You hitched your leg up around his waist and he lifted you up onto the counter. Your hands went to the buttons on his black dress shirt and started undoing them, running your fingers over every expanse of skin you exposed. He kissed down your neck and sucked a few marks into it. You smiled and moaned, pushing the shirt off his shoulders. He pulled your tank top off and dropped it on the floor. He kissed you again and squeezed your breasts over your lacy bra.
“Eddie, fuck… that feels so good…!” You moaned into his mouth and he grinned, reaching back to take the bra off, throwing it off somewhere in the sticky club bathroom.
“Yeah? Feel s’good when I touch you, baby? Wanna feel my mouth?” He pulled back and wrapped your legs around his waist. You nodded and moaned, digging the heels of your heels into the back of his thighs. He grinned and his lips instantly attached to your nipple, sucking and biting it. You cried out and threw your head back, tangling your fingers in his hair.
His hands went down and hiked your skirt up so he could slip his hand in your panties. “Fuck… So goddamn wet already…!” He groaned and swirled the tip of his tongue against your nipple. He rubbed your clit in time with his tongue and you panted heavily, grinding up against his hand. “Such a good fucking girl…” He grabbed your thighs and pulled your panties down your legs, shoving them in his back pocket. He slipped two fingers inside you in time with his thumb rubbing your clit. You instantly clenched down around his fingers and moaned, grabbing onto his shoulders.
“E-Eddie, your fingers a-are so big…!” You whined and bucked up harder against his hand. “I need… I need more… Please, Eddie…”
“Please what, honey? Use your words.” He mockingly pouted and fingered you faster.
“F-Fuck me! Please fuck me!” You cried out and sobbed in pleasure, pulling at your nipples.
He pulled you off the counter and bent you over it. He pulled his aching cock out and spit on his hand, stroking it a little before slowly pushing in. You groaned in unison, creating a song of pleasure between the two of you. He didn’t hold back at all. He growled like an animal and fucked you hard, the slapping of skin loud and could be heard over the muffled music behind the bathroom door. You sobbed, your eyes filling with tears of pure pleasure, moaning and gripping the counter hard.
“Goddamn, baby… So fucking tight around me… Gonna fucking milk me dry, huh? Want my cum deep inside you, honey?” You nodded and moaned louder.
“Y-Yes…! Please cum so deep inside me! I want it so bad…!” Your mouth hung open and he went faster.
“Cum for me first, baby. I’ll give you anything you want if you cum all over my cock.” He groaned and rubbed your clit in time with thrusts.
You cried out, finally given permission and came harder around his cock, squeezing hard around him and moaning loudly. Eddie grunted and groaned, grabbing your chin and pulling you up to kiss you hard, still pounding into you from behind. You begged and pleaded with him to cum and he finally granted you your wish, cumming deep inside you and moaning into your ear. You both caught your breath and your eyes shut as you slumped against the counter. You heard him grab some paper towels and get them wet, wiping your sensitive cunt clean before helping you fix your clothes. You both walked out of the bathroom a few minutes later and your group all gave you knowing looks. Eddie grinned and kissed your cheek while you blushed and buried your face deep in his chest in embarrassment.

No matter how many times Haechan denies it, his friends would think the exact opposite. In the words of his good friend Huang Renjun, the reason why Haechan never shuts up is because he’s so in love with himself he just loves the sound of his own voice.
Rightfully so, Haechan always reasons out. Why would he not love it when he consistently scores high 90’s whenever they have karaoke nights. One game he know he doesn’t have to cheat his way into winning.
"Oh god, shut up please" Renjun groans
"What, I'm right though. If only I work out a bit more, I'm sure I can beat Jaemin on arm wrestling. Give me until the end of the year"
"I'd give good money to see that" Jaemin mumbles
"You'll bet on me right?" Haechan asks Renjun
"That's stupid, here why don't we make a bet. I bet you can't keep your mouth shut for the rest of the night" Renjun proposes, he knows just how competitive Haechan can get.
"If I win?"
"I'll be your personal slave for a week"
"Make it a month" Haechan negotiates, waiting for Renjun to say yes.
"Deal" Renjun says, knowing his friend would last 5 minutes. "If I win, you'll be my personal errand boy" Haechan rolls his eyes, acting like he's zipping his lips and throwing the key away.
"Goodluck with that" Jaemin laughs, waiting to see who wins. He knows Renjun would, Renjun is never wrong.
"Who needs another drink?" Jaemin asks, ready to stand up but Haechan stops him. "Oh, you haven't lost yet but since you're offering. I'll get 1 more beer" Jaemin tells him
"Same here, make that 2 more"
Haechan salutes to his friends before walking away, keeping his lips shut tight. If there's something Haechan loved more than his voice, it would be proving Renjun wrong.
He grabs four more beer cans from the cooler, trying to hold all in his hands. When he turns around he accidentally bumps against someone or something, losing his grip on some of the cans.
"Oh shit, sorry. Wait I'll get that"
Before Haechan could say anything, the other person was already leaning down to get it.
"Here, sorry again" standing straight back up you hand Haechan the cans, only to see him just looking at you
"Uh you okay?" you ask, he just nods
"Okay, well I'm gonna go now. Sorry again" you mumble then excused yourself, walking towards the other room. Haechan wanted to punch himself, he wanted to say something he should've said something.
He don't even know you and yet he was ready to lose the stupid bet with Renjun even if it meant he'll be a personal slave.
"Dude, I just bumped in with the prettiest girl I swear I need to find her. God that was stupid, I looked stupid I just stood there. I didn't even ask for her name. What the fuck was wrong with me, now I'll never find her again. What if I never find her again?"
Renjun and Jaemin just share a confused look while Haechan rambles on
"What the fuck are you going on about?"
"The mystery girl! My mystery girl! I let her get away" Haechan groans, slumping down on his previous seat sulking like a little child who didn't get to buy his favorite candy.
"You know you just spoke right?" Jaemin asks
"Fuck that, I already missed my chance" Haechan grumbles
"I'm sure you'll find her again. Now open that beer for me" Renjun says,
"Why don't you open it?" Haechan sneers at his friend
"Well I won right, why would I do things I'm fully capable of doing when I have you?" Renjun teases Haechan, taking one of the cans to open it only for the can to burst out
"Oh fucks sake" Haechan shouts while his two friends doubles over with laughter, tonight is definitely not his night.
Ever since that night, Haechan has been on the look out for his mystery girl. Hoping fate is on his side and he'd bump into you again but it's been two weeks and not a single sign of you.
"Dude, I'm dying here. Can't you help a friend out?" Haechan exaggeratedly says as he takes the seat beside Jaemin
"And what can I help you with? Finding your mystery girl?"
"You know her?"
"No"
"You should be nicer to me, I literally woke up for this. I don't see Renjun doing this for you" Haechan glares at Jaemin
"Can you just order coffee, please. We need to finish this report by 11" Jaemin brushes him off, too busy typing away on his laptop
He copies Jaemin's order mockingly as he makes his way to the counter. Busy scrolling on his phone, he didn't pay that much attention around him.
When he got to the counter, he orders for him and Jaemin only to find that he forgot his card. Again.
"Shit I don't have my card, can you wait a moment my friend's over there"
"Sorry can't hold orders" the cashier says
"I literally go here everyday, he's right there. I don't have cash on me"
"I got it, here's a 50" someone says from behind him, sliding the money on the counter which the cashier takes with a smile
"Thanks, here's your change" the cashier says, handing the change to you. Only then Haechan looks back to see you.
"It's you" he mumbles
At first you weren't sure he was talking to you, so you didn't notice. But then you feel someone's gaze on you, he seemed familiar but you can't quite place where you met him before.
"Have we met before?" you ask him
"yes, yea I mean yes at the party. You helped me with the beer"
"Oh, that was you. Hi, guess I saved you again" you joke
"Yea, thanks I owe you. Twice. I'll pay you back though, give me a moment" he leaves while you order
"Hey, give me money" Haechan tells Jaemin, his friend shoots him a confused look "Quick! I'll pay you back, okay thanks" he takes the money quickly before jogging back to where you were waiting for your order
"Here you go, and next time I'll buy you coffee. For you know the first time you saved me" he smiles at you, hoping it would work
"Don't mention it" you answered with a smile. Someone calls from the counter, guessing it was yours because you went to take it. Remembering your name this time.
"Wait uhm can I have your number?" he's never been nervous to ask someone their number but right now he can feel his palms get a bit sweaty.
"Haechan right?" he nods at your question
"I have a feeling we'll see each other again, I'll give it to you then" you smile then walk away.
"Why not now? What if we don't see each other for a long time?"
"Then you'll have something to look forward to, see you around Haechan"
Leaving Haechan to watch after you mesmerized.
He already knows he'd wait all day or week or no matter how long just to meet you again. It's like you got him under some spell.
Haechan walks back to their table, holding his and Jaemin's coffee.
"Why are you smiling like that? You're scaring me"
"You can't ruin my day. This is like the best day ever. Give me the handouts I'll do it" he tells Jaemin, taking the laptop from him and getting to work.
Tumblr media
"Why why why did you drag me here?" Haechan grumbles as Renjun practically drags him by his sleeves to the art wing.
"Because I need to talk to Chenle about something and you're driving me home. But knowing you, you'd probably forget and leave me, so I'm taking you with me"
Renjun lets go of his sleeve to get his phone, "Yah Zhong Chenle, I'm here. What do you mean? Okay and? Fine what's her name?"
Haechan wasn't listening to the conversation, making himself busy by reading some random flyers on the wall when suddenly he hears another voice speak
"Hi, sorry are you Renjun?"
Haechan knows that voice, immediately he turns his head and there you were speaking to his friend
"Y/N?" Renjun asks, "It's you" Haechan mumbles
"Yea, here's Chenle's stuff. He left earlier and forgot about it. Good thing I was still here" you explain with a smile, both you and Renjun still oblivious to the boy smiling stupidly on the sidelines.
When you sensed someone looking at you, you looked over to the side to see Haechan already looking at you
"Hi, you're Haechan right?"
You remember him. You actually remember his name and you really did meet again. Haechan internally panics.
"You two know each other?" Renjun asks, you just nod your head. "Yea, I kinda saved him twice" you joke
Renjun looked back to his friend before looking at you again, "He's being weird, I think it's time to go. Thanks again" Renjun waves bye at you.
You say goodbye and watch him walk away, expecting Haechan to follow but he stayed behind
"You okay?" you ask
"You said you'd give your number when we meet again" he blinks at you, "I did?" you chuckled. You do recall telling him that, not expecting him to remember it though.
"Yea"
The two of you stared at each other, he was just about to say something again when suddenly you smile at him and it's like the wind got knocked out of his lungs.
He takes his phone out only to see it dead, he looks up at you like a kicked puppy. You can't help but giggle. You take a pen from your back pocket then you took his hand. Writing on the back of his palm as gently as you could, "There. Call me if you need saving again" you joke, "I guess I'll see around" you add before saying bye and walked back inside the room.
"Yah Lee Haechan! What are you doing?" Renjun shouts at his friend, breaking him from his stupor
"That was her! Renjun that was her!" He runs excitedly towards his friend, looking at your number written at the back of his hand
"Who? What the hell are you talking about?"
"That's the girl I've been talking about. This is fate, we met a few times now. And look she gave me her number"
Renjun has known Haechan for a long time, he has seen his friend in different situations but never once has he seen Haechan act like this. Be this excited, not even when he beats Jaemin when they play games. Or that time he won over Renjun when they played monopoly.
"Oh god, if this is how you act when you're in love please spare me"
Tumblr media
The next time he sees you is during the town fair. Some of the fraternities and clubs from university participated in the booths so a lot of students were roaming around.
He has sent you a few texts since the last time he saw you and he could never get past the introductory stage. It's obvious he's attracted to you, but to him that's not enough. Being attracted to someone can just mean you like them physically, he wants to know you. What you like, what you don't like. How you drink your coffee in the morning, what your favorite song is and all of that.
It's kind of silly to be this invested over a girl he met only a few times but there's just something about you that enchants him.
And just like that, it's like the universe heard his thoughts. There you were standing amongst the crowd, like that slowmo moment in movies when everyone else disappears and all he can focus on is you. Before he can stop himself, he's already walking towards you.
"Hey" someone said from behind you, making you turn around.
"Oh hi, I haven't seen you around campus and we finally meet here" you smile at him and Haechan swore your smile is brighter than all the lights in this carvinal fair combined.
"Yea, been busy. Are you alone or are you with your friends?" he notices
"Just me, I asked Chenle to come but he said he has basketball training. He's my blockmate and friend"
He wanted to be your friend to, he wanted to be more than that. He wanted to be just someone to you. He thoughts.
"Have you gone on any of the rides?" he asks, you shook your head
"Want to come with? I can join you" he offers
"You sure, didn't you come with your friends?" you ask back
"Nah, I mean I did but I already lost them so I guess I'm coming with you. If that's okay"
"Sure, kinda afraid of that ferris wheel though" you say, pointing at the tallest ride.
"Noted, we won't even come near it. How about we just walk around and check out the booths?"
That's how you spend the next few hours, playing games, trying out the food and just having unexpected fun with this guy.
When the sun was just about to set, you stood by the barriers to watch it. Loving how the colors of the sky change, you admire it like it's the first time you're seeing this happen.
While your attention was on the sunset, the boy beside you was very captivated by you. Haechan couldn't tear his eyes off you. He pulls his phone out to capture the moment,
"What was that?"
"Mhm?"
"Did you just take a picture of me?" you ask him
"Yea" Haechan answers carefully, scared that he might have overstepped your boundaries. "Sorry, I should've asked first but you looked pretty. I mean the moment looked pretty so I uh yea" rubbing the back of his neck as he tries or more like fail to explain
Instead of getting mad at him, you just laugh. Smiling at the boy beside you. "That's a fine, the sunset is beatiful" you mumble
"I meant you" he said, "Huh, that's a first"
"Nobody has ever taken a picture of you?"
You shake your head before speaking "Being called pretty, even though you took it back a second after saying it" you tease him
Looking straight ahead again, watching the sun disappear from the horizon. From your periphery you can tell he was still looking at you, "I didn't it say so I can fish out more compliments from you, I just thought about it so I said it. I'm being cynical again, don't mind me"
"You're beautiful, you know? And I'm saying that because that's what I can only think of right now" he tells you, his eyes never leaving the side of your face. He was committing every detail to his memory, this moment can be one of new core memories.
"Can I see the picture you took?" you ask, changing the subject
"I'll post it, you can check it there. Don't worry, you look cute there" he says as he put his camera away
"Hey Hyuck, thank you for today. I was getting stressed with school, this was like a breath of fresh air" you tell him, resting your cheek against your arm.
He follows your actions, eyes staying on yours
"Anytime, you can call me anytime. It's always good to watch the sunset after a long day, reminds us that even the long hard days end"
"Yea, I like the sunset"
"I can be your sunset, when you have a tough day just call me. I'll try to make it better" he tells you, voice sounding like your favorite tune.
"Okay" you mumble, a few moment passes just looking at his features being kissed by the last light of the day before it disappears.
Suddenly, you think endings aren't that bad after all. If this is how all your days end, if he's there to promise another tomorrow to you then maybe that one movie line was right. Sometimes endings are the best part.

After that, you and Haechan started to grow closer together. When you're not texting, you're on a call with him. You sometimes spend your vacant period and study in the library together.
You also notice how attentive the guy is towards you. You're not naive, there's definitely something there but for now you don't say anything. You don't want to assume, because what if you're the only one who thinks that way.
So you just let things happen, let fate run its course.
Props to Haechan because he is a very consistent guy.
"Hey Y/N, your boyfriend's here" Chenle says when he entered the studio, earning a very confused look from you
"Huh? Who?"
"Dude with brown hair, friends with Renjun"
You try to piece his description together, only to think of one person
"Haechan's here?" you ask, putting your brush down
"Yea outside, hey you're still wearing your apron!" he shouts after you but you were already out of the room
"And she tells me she doesn't like him like that" he says to himself with a chuckle.
Meanwhile you walk towards the entrance and sure enough Haechan is standing there. "What are you doing here?" you ask, catching his attention. Immediately he smile at you, striding across the hall to stand directly infront of you.
"It's raining, you hate going home in this weather so I just kinda took a chance if you're still here. Good thing I bumped into on of your classmate" he says, referring to Chenle
"Didn't your class end early?" you ask him
"Yea, I went back to my dorm then it started to rain. So I came back"
"You came back? For me?"
"You hate the rain" he says as if it was the only explanation he got when in reality he really wanted to see you today. The both of you have been very busy so apart from the few messages, you haven't gotten the chance to hang out. Reality is, Haechan couldn't wait another day to see you again.
"Did you bring an umbrella?" he asks you when you didn't speak, shaking your head to answer him
He chuckles before showing you the bright yellow umbrella he brought, "Good thing I came then"
"You didn't have to"
"I wanted to, we haven't hung out in a while. You probably buried yourself again with work, you need to rest" you were just about to say no but he takes your paint covered hand
"I can't wait to see your next masterpieces, I'm sure it's all precious to you and you want to finish it. But you're precious to me too, so I need to take care of you" he says, looking down at your hand in his. Smiling at how perfectly it fits right there.
You can ask a thousand question and he will always come back to you with an answer. Not once since you met him did he ever make you feel any sort of doubt.
"I'll just go grab my stuff" you tell him, giving his hand a squeeze before dropping it. Walking back to the studio to get your bag. Chenle was already gone, probably took the other way when he went. So you get your bag, took your apron off, turned off the lights before walking back to where Haechan was.
He spots you down the hall, taking your bag from you to sling it on his shoulder. "Ready to go?" he asks you
You nod, "Thank you, you saved my day once again"
"What did I tell you? I'll always be here to make your tough days better" he smile at you before throwing one arm around you to pull you closer, he opens the umbrella with his other hand making sure it covers you.
You did hate going anywhere in this weather. If you're home right now, you wouldn't mind it that much. Being out and about when it's raining stresses you out. You always feel anxious about commuting or driving or going anywhere when the weather is bad.
But right now while sharing this yellow umbrella with the boy you potentially like, you don't hate it as much so long as he's there to hold you and walk with you under the rain shower.
"It's your birthday soon, got any plans?" Haechan looks over at you, waiting and hoping for a favorable answer. One that would go well with his plans.
You shake your head, you weren't even aware "Didn't even know it's August already"
You didn't like making a big deal out if it, to you it's another normal day.
"So you're not going out?"
"Probably not, it's a weekday so I might have a class. I'll just go to the studio if I don't have any class that day. Why?"
"If you're not busy, do you want to have dinner? with me? do you want to go get dinner on your birthday with me?" he asks you, feeling nervous for no reason. He practiced this in his head many times but he can't say it straight now that he's saying it to you.
You giggle at his question, "Dinner? Sure"
"Really?"
"Yea, I don't have anything planned" you shrug
"Okay, cool. Uh how does 6pm sound? You can come by at my place" he tells you, he can feel the heat rushing to his cheeks. Hoping you don't notice it, you do.
"Okay"
Fast forward a couple of days later, it's your birthday. When you woke up you had one message, sent exactly at 12:01 am from one Lee Haechan.
"Happy birthday, I wanted to be the first one"
That alone was enough to make you smile for the day. You prepared for the day, did some school works until it was time to go over at Haechan's place.
Ringing his doorbell once, you waited for him. You hear a click then the door opens, Haechan welcomes you with a smile.
"Hey! You're here, happy birthday" he greets you, letting you in before closing the door behind you. You walk inside his place to see the table set up, looking back at him
"You cooked for me?" you ask him, trying to fight the smile making it's way on your lips but you fail
"Yea, it's your special day and I know you'd like this ten times better than going out. Plus I got you cake, wait did you want to go out?" he asks, worried he just ruined the night. It's your birthday, the first one you'll celebrate together so he wanted to make sure it was special.
You didn't say anything at first then you jogged to where he was standing, throwing your arms around his shoulders to engulf him with a hug
"I love it, thank you thank you" you tell him, Haechan can hear the smile in your voice and just like that his worries were washed away. He puts his arms around your waist to lift you up, hugging you tighter. He kisses your temple, "Happy birthday, I'm glad I got to meet you in this lifetime"
You pull away from where your head was buried to look at him in the eyes, "Me too, I hope all versions of me meet their version of you"
He smiles at you, setting you back down on your feet again.
"Let's enjoy this dinner then, how about a movie after?"
"Sounds like a lovely night" you beam at him
"Oh I got you something, it's not big don't worry. Just something you might need, I thought of you when I saw it"
You take the bag from him, opening it excitedly to see what's inside. A yellow thing catching your eye, when you take it out you see it's a big cute scrunchie. You did mention you needed a new one.
"It's cute thank you, I need one when I do work at the studio. This is perfect. Thank you, Haechan. Really this whole night is perfect. I don't like celebrating this day but maybe it isn't too bad when I get to celebrate it like this"
"Then I can say mission accomplished, if you're happy then that's all that matters. It's your day today, I wanted to celebrate this day with you"
You smile at him, hugging him again. Immediately he hugs you back, resting his cheek on your head he hears you mumble
"Thank you"
Tumblr media
It's past 10pm, yet again you were too busy finishing your work to even check the time. You remember telling Haechan you'll text him when you get home but you're still at the studio.
"You're still here?" someone asks, making you look behind you. Chenle standing by the doorway, "I thought I was the last one here" he adds
"Just need to finish this piece, I'm just cleaning up actually"
"Surprised to see you here, it's raining cats and dogs outside" just then you here the rumble of thunder outside
"Headphones" you tell him, "Well you better go now, traffic is bad. There was an accident in town. A few cars piled up" He tells you
"Oh that sounds bad, was anyone harmed?"
"Not sure, Jisung just texted me on his way home to find another route since it was still there when he passed by. I think it's near your place too"
"I should go now then, maybe I'll take a cab" you say, picking your bag from the floor and following Chenle down the hall
"Oh wait Haechan was asking for you, I thought you went home earlier so I said you're not here anymore" Chenle recalls seeing Haechan outside the building maybe an hour ago
"What do you mean Haechan was here?" already your mind was racing, a hundred bad scenarios playing
"He went out to find you, I don't know where he is- HEY WHERE ARE YOU GOING IT'S POURING OUTSIDE!" Chenle shouts after you but you were already out of the building.
You weren't sure where you were running off to, but when you heard there was an accident near your place you got this bad feeling in your chest.
"Y/N? What are you doing there?" Renjun asks, rolling down the window the car, you spot Jaemin from the driver's side. They also had a late night at campus, not expecting to see you running outside at this hour of the night when Haechan left to pick you up earlier.
"Haechan? Where's Haechan? I need to see him" you utter, the rain beating down on you. The two guys share a worried look, Jaemin already searching for an umbrella inside the car while Renjun throws his jacket over him before running over to you to get inside the car
"Haechan" you say
"We don't know where he is, have you tried calling him?" Renjun asks, you nodded your head. You did try but he wasn't answering, now you don't even know where your phone is
"I'll call him" Jaemin says, taking his phone to quickly dial his friend's number. After a few tries still no answer
"Can you drive near my place, I heard something happened. What if-"
"Hey don't freak out, I'm sure he just forgot to charge his phone again" Renjun comforts you as Jaemin drives away.
Due to the heavy rain and accident, the traffic was bad. You couldn't wait another minute so for the second time tonight you ran through the rain
"Yah Y/N, where are you going?!" Renjun shouts as he watch you run through traffic
"I really hope Haechan's okay" he mumbles, looking over Jaemin who is calling Haechan again hoping the other would pick up.
Running as fast as you could, you finally reached the block before your apartment where the crash happened. You look around the busy street, police were still there but no sign of any medical personnel.
You look left and right, turning your head over and over again trying to see a familiar face.
Haechan was getting worried, it's late and raining hard. He should've charged his phone but he left his charger at home, now it's dead and useless. Wondering where you are at the moment, then he looks outside again to check if they're letting cars through.
Something catches his eye, someone running by. It was as quick as a second but he knows that yellow scrunchie, he can tell from a mile away.
Without a doubt, he gets out of the car to chase after the person. There he sees you standing in the middle of traffic looking terrified. Then he was screaming your name, he needed you to see him, he needed to be close to you this instant to ask you what's wrong.
You don't know if you were dreaming but you definitely heard him, looking around again you see someone standing a few cars back. You hear it again.
Then you were running. Leaping straight into his awaiting arms, throwing your own around him trapping him there like you were afraid he was going to float away.
"Hey, you okay? What were you doing running through the rain? You're gonna sick" Haechan tells you but you can't hear all his word, the sound of your own beating heart was louder.
"You're okay" you keep on repeating, when he felt you calm down a bit he broke away from your embrace but still kept you in his arms,
"What happened?"
It's like a switch has been flipped because the next second you were hitting him, "Ouch! what I do?!" Haechan asks
"You weren't answering your phone! I thought something bad happened to you! I couldn't find you, I thought-" then you were crying again, hoping he can't tell since it's still raining. Your tears mixing with the raindrops but Haechan knows.
Instead he just takes your face in his hands, cradling it ever so gently to comfort you.
"I'm okay, I'm right here see. I'm sorry, I'll call next time"
"You scared me" you mumbled
"Sorry" he tells you with a small smile, those three words were more than enough confirmation for him. He knows just how much you hate thunderstorms, your love and hate relationship with rain. And yet here you are, running through the worst weather because you were looking for him.
He hugs you again, "I'm here" he tells you
"Let's get you out of this rain, we're both gonna get sick" he says as he guides you back to his car. Once the two of you settle inside, Haechan turns the heat on and looks for something else to keep you from freezing.
"Wait, Renjun and Jaemin was right behind me. I need to text time but I don't know where my phone is" you say
"Well my phone is dead, I'll text them when we get back"
He was just about to say something else when someone knocks on his window, it was Renjun. "Did you see Y/N? She dashed away- Oh you're there. Well then, make sure you take a warm shower when you get home. Also next time, charge your phone please" he tells Haechan before waving goodbye to you.
Haechan lets out a chuckle before rolling his windows up, looking over at you again.
"You okay? Do you need anything?"
You shook your head, rubbing your hands together to generate some warmth. Now that you've finally calmed down, you can definitely feel the cold. Haechan ofcourse notices this, taking your hands in between his before putting it against his lips. Blowing gently on it to keep you warm.
"Next time, I promise I'll text you when I go out this late or when I leave somewhere so you don't go out running in the rain. You could've gotten hurt or worse"
"I don't know what I was thinking, I wasn't even thinking. You weren't answering your phone and then I heard something happened here, my mind freaked out" you tell him, watching him continue his actions of rubbing the back of your hands and blowing on them
"You were really worried about me?"
You chuckled, "I forgot I was scared of thunder and rain. I don't think I would even mind if a lightning struck right infront of me" you tell him. And it was the truth. Your fears were outweighed by your worry for him. It didn't matter to you, all you needed was to see him.
"I'm glad you're okay" you whisper, Haechan smiles at you putting down your hands. He then cradles your face again, leaning over the console to get closer to you. Tilting your head down a bit to kiss you on the forehead.
When the two of you arrived to his dorm, he immediately got towels to help you dry off. He showed you the bathroom to change, giving his extra clothes.
While waiting for you, he changes also then goes back to the kitchen to prepare hot chocolate for the two of you.
"Thanks for lending me your clothes" you say from behind him, when he turns around it's like his heart leaped out of his chest.
It's not that big of a deal, but seeing you in his clothes does something to him. He's pretty sure he's blushing right now.
"Yea sure, uh I'm making hot choco" he stutters, if you noticed you don't comment on it and he silently thanks you for it.
The two of you sit on his couch, waiting for the rain to stop while sipping on your hot choco.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure" you answer
"Why don't you like the rain?"
"Something happened, I got in a minor accident. I was driving home from school too, it was raining hard I couldn't even see the road. The car swerved off the road, thankfully I wasn't badly injured but it was very scary. I hated going out when it's raining ever since" you explain while Haechan listens attentively
"I'm glad you're okay" he mumbles
You chuckle, putting the mug down before pulling your legs up to hug them. "I was in high school, ever since I couldn't drive at night or when it's raining"
The two of you talked about everything, he wanted to know all about you and here you are letting him. You didn't even notice how the time passed.
"Hey the rain stopped" Haechan suddenly says
"Oh yea, I guess I should go. Oh wow is that the time" you see it on the wall clock since your phone is still nowhere to be found, probably left it in Jaemin's car earlier during your mini freak out.
"I can drive you home" Haechan offers
"It's late, I can take a cab or walk"
"Absolutely not, I'm driving you home. Come on" he pulls you up, holding you by the arm.
"Hey Haechan"
He stops, looking back at you. "Yea?"
"I'm glad you're okay" you tell him
He smiles at you, this time he pulls you to him. Hugging you.
It was unexpected. For a second he thought he did the wrong thing, but then he felt your arms go around him holding him tighter.
He kisses the top of your head, a silent assurance. He won't dare to say anything, soaking the moment.
When the two of you broke apart, he just smile at you before speaking again.
"Let's drive you home"
Tumblr media
That was like the calm before the storm.
Haechan don't get it, was it something he said? Something he did?
It's been days and you're avoiding him. He sent numerous calls and texts. When he asked Chenle if you were coming you class, he did say you attended regularly.
What he didn't know was you were having a war with yourself.
You like Haechan. You like him so so much it scares you.
It scares you because what if this is all temporary. What if he's only doing it to be kind to you. What if he gets tired of you like all the boys you've liked before.
That's why for the past few days you couldn't face him. You don't know what to say to him, you don't understand your own feelings how can you even explain all of that to him.
Chenle knows all about your dilemma, after all he is one of your closest friend. Which is also why he's the first person Haechan looked for when he couldn't contact you,
"Just give her time, plus it's you. Give her a few days and she's talk to you again"
"What do you mean it's me?" he asks, confused
Chenle chuckles before answering, "I'm not about to pour out her feelings for her. You need to talk to her about that. All I know is ever since she met you, she's been happier" then he points at the latest piece you were making
"See that? She's been working on it for a while now, it's not an assignment. She said it just reminded her of one of her favorite days"
It was a painting of a sunset, looking so similar as the one the two of you saw before.
You weren't even there but that painting said a thousand words and confirmed everything to Haechan. All his doubts going away. He knew this was your way of talking to him.
This is how you confess to him. In your own way.
Haechan smiles as he stares at it.
He thinks he gave you enough time.
Meanwhile you were at home, half sulking half overthinking. This is the longest you went without talking to Haechan. It wasn't until you started to avoid him you realized just how big his presence is in your day to day life.
Hearing a knock on your door, you were hoping it was the boy you've been thinking about for days. But no.
The last person you expected to see on your doorstep: your ex-boyfriend, Lee Jeno.
"What are you doing here?"
"Can I come in?"
"Why?" your face void of any emotion.
It's been a while since you last saw him or even talked to him, he still looked the same but not really. Like this wasn't the version of Jeno you once knew and loved.
"I just want to talk"
It took you a few seconds before you open the door, letting him in your apartment.
"I don't have anything to say to you, so make it quick" you tell him
"Well first, I'm sorry for that messy break up. You deserved more"
You cut him off, "I did, I do. I deserve more that being broken up over text message with a measly reason of you being tired. What exactly did you get tired of? Do tell, since you're already here"
"I felt like I was never going to be on the same page as you, you had everything planned out. You're so sure of yourself while I don't even know what I'm going to do tomorrow. I was afraid you're going to meet someone else out there and realize he's better than me"
"I told you I didn't care, that night I said I was ready to wait whatever it is you need to accomplish first. I was okay with learning everything with you. You're the one who closed that door. You're the one who walked away, you don't get to walk back and ask if we could do it again"
He looks at you with apologetic eyes. Once upon a time that would've made you crumble and say yes to whatever he bids. But just as you realize this isn't the Jeno from before, you're also not the person you used to be.
"If you told me that a year ago, I would've come running back to you. For days, weeks, months all I thought about was where did I go wrong. Many times I had to stop myself from saying I missed you until I realized I deserved more than that. It wasn't the wrong love at the wrong time, there's no such thing as that. I loved you at the right time, it was short but I was happy. But that was a memory ago, Jeno"
"So I really am too late" he shows a sad smile
"One day when you meet another girl and you tell her about your plans in the future, about making more memories, I hope that it's true. I hope you find her again" you smile at him.
Neither of you said much after that, he said his goodbye knowing that this time it really might be the last one. This time he knows you really finally let go. There was no one waiting for him.
When he walked out your door, you didn't feel sad in the way you just got your heart broken. You feel sad for the girl who cried so many nights, who asked if she was ever worth to love.
You cried for that version of you who was so ready to love and yet fate forbade her to.
Before it got too much, you decided to take a walk to clear your mind.
Your first thought was to call Haechan until you stopped yourself. It's unfair to unload this baggage on him. He doesn't deserve it. Even though he told you over and over again you can lean on you him you can never bring yourself to fully do so.
What you didn't know was Haechan already knew what was happening. A few days ago, Jeno approached him and asked him what was going between the two of you. It was weird since he wasn't that close with the guy.
It wasn't until Jaemin told him that you and Jeno used to date, it's like the puzzle pieces fell into place. You never directly told Haechan about him but he's sure Jeno is the reason and the guy behind all your stories.
He wanted to pay you a visit when he saw Jeno walking out of your building, getting in his car and driving away. Meanwhile Haechan stayed inside his car. Thinking and waiting for the moment until he saw you walking out with nothing in hand.
He already knew what was happening.
So many things running through his head at the moment. How he's so mad at Jeno for making you go through this again, how worried he is about you and how he just wanted to hug you while telling you everything was going to be okay.
But above all he was hoping you don't retreat back to your old self, he doesn't want you to feel like you need to suffer alone and let your emotions eat you from within.
Of course he can't let you walk alone this late at night, he quickly got out of his car. Following a few steps behind you to make sure you're safe.
He watch you enter the park and sit on one of the benches. For a while he just lets you be. He knows you needed a moment for yourself. You needed the quiet to clear your mind.
A minute turned into five, then turned into ten until thirty minutes have passed when he finally decided to approach you.
"I knew I'd find you here"
You don't move from where you were standing, still looking up the skies counting all the stars over and over again.
"You know if you want to get away, you can just ask me. I'll drive you anywhere, you had my worried" Haechan continues, still you didn't say a word to him
"I can go if you want, I just need to know you're okay" he adds
"Why are you here?" you finally speak, asking him
"I can't let you walk this late at night alone, I was looking for you all day too"
"Well you found me" you tell him
Haechan feels frustrated, he's not even mad anymore when you won't any of his calls or texts. Or when you suddenly disappeared without a word.
He had his fair share of arguements, his friends know he'll never back down until he can prove himself right. But with you he can't seem to fight back. And right now it feels like he's about to go into battle.
"You need to tell me how you feel, I'm trying to understand you but you won't let me. How long will you keep on running away from me?"
"Why are you tired? You think I'm hard to get to?" you ask, this time looking over at him.
He looks back at you, checking if you're okay. Apart from the obvious tiredness, he's glad to see you unharmed. Atleast that's one less thing he was to worry about.
You wait for him to say something, the two of you just looking at each other. Before he speaks, he shrugs his jacket off before throwing it over your shoulder. You know he's upset with you but he's still taking care of you.
He takes a deep breath before speaking, “Was that what all the boys before me said? that you’re hard to get? because they got you all wrong. You’re not hard to get, you’re easier to read than my favorite music sheet. I can tell just want you want to say before you say anything”
“Oh so now you’re an expert on me?” you stop him but he was quick to answer back, not yet ready to back down.
“Is that so bad? Is it such a bad thing to want to know you? I am trying to understand and know you. That says more than any of them. You’re not hard to get, you’re hard to earn and that's a thousand times better. You like ketchup beside your fries not on them, you hate summer because of the heat, you like your coffee cold even in the morning. You eat Nutella with a spoon but you don't like it on bread. If me talking my tongue off, following you until the soles of my shoes crumble, run until we run out of road I will not stop trying to earn you because that’s what you deserve. You deserve a man who will go the lengths and beyond for you. You’re not a girl anyone can get, you’re a girl only the worthy can earn”
Nobody has ever fought this hard for you, it's always you fighting for the person. For so long you felt like a lost cause, a mere stop along the way until Haechan came and made you feel like this was a trip worth going to. Like he didn't mind what the destination would be, all he wants is to be on this journey with you.
"And how long will you think that?" you whisper
Looking at you right now, Haechan can tell all fight just left you. And not in a bad way. Right now you're waving the white flag, surrendering your walls and maybe finally letting him in. So he takes this chance and leaped to give you what you needed to hear,
"Until you believe me, and even after that. Until all the flowers wither away, and they bloom again. I'll tell you over and over again until the day that when you think even for a second if you're worthy to love, you won't hear their voices but mine. You'll remember my words, me saying over and over again that you're worth to love, my love" he breaths out, with each word the distance between the two of you minimizing until the ends of his shoes touches yours.
"I'll tell you again and again, when you forget I'll look right into your eyes and tell you you're perfect enough" he whispers, resting his forehead against yours.
"Do I deserve this? Do I deserve you-" "Yes, yes you do"
Then he was kissing you, wiping every doubt every question away. Remembering how to fall in love, that warm feeling you only feel whenever he's around. When he smiles at you, when he greets you goodmorning and goodnight, when he holds your hand.
He kisses you like he's sealing a promise, right in this moment he didn't need anything else. It was perfect, nothing like he ever imagined because this is so much better.
When the two of you broke apart, he's smiling ear to ear
"I love you"
Like the first time you met, he just looks at you. This time with love in his eyes. Looking at you like you're the one who painted his skies, like you're the sun of his universe, like you're more than enough.
And to him, you are.
You are more than enough.

“ I'm not trying to be a hero. If you think I like this, you're crazy! ”
“ You know there'll be trouble. ”
“ We got our whole lives ahead of us, doesn't that mean anything to you? ”
“ You know, I got only an hour and I've got lots to do. ”
“ I won't be here when it's over. ”
“ You shouldn't have come back. That was stupid. ”
“ I think I'm letting you down, ain'tchu? ”
“ What a waste. Good luck. ”
“ That's funny, I figured you carried a lot of weight here. ”
“ You think I'm too young too? ”
“ If you don't know, it's no use of me telling you. ”
“ The truth is you probably talked against me from the start. ”
“ You can't stand anybody takin' your place, now can ya? Especially me. ”
“ I thought you'd grew up by now. ”
“ What's so funny? ”
“ He's sore, that's all. He's sore about you and me. ”
“ I can take care of myself. ”
“ No reason, but it's mighty interesting. ”
“ It's going to be quite a sight to see. ”
“ You can count on me. You know that, don't you? ”
“ You've been real decent with me all along, and I want you to know I've been honest with you. ”
“ What are you looking at? You think I've changed? ”
“ I will not lift a finger for you. ”
“ I'm not afraid of him. ”
“ Nothing in life is free. ”
“ If you're smart, you will get out too. ”
“ There's plenty people around thinking he got a comeuppance coming. ”
“ Where's the tin star? ”
“ I guess you all know why I'm here. ”
“ What do you want? You want me to get killed? ”
“ You got nothing to worry about as long as I'm around. ”
“ It takes more than big broad shoulders to make a man, and you have a long way to go. ”
“ When he dies, this town dies too. ”
“ It's their mess, let them take care of it. ”
“ If we don't do what's right, we're gonna have plenty o' more troubles. ”
“ There's only one thing to do now, and y'all know what it is. ”
“ He's a mighty brave man. A good man. ”
“ Bang, Bang! You're dead! ”
“ If you're honest, you're poor your whole life. ”
“ I couldn't do nothing for ya. You'd be worried about me. ”
“ It's all for nothing. ”
“ Let him go, he still has a chance. Let him go. ”
“ They were on the right side, but that didn't help them when the shooting started. ”
“ There's got to be some better way for people to live. ”
“ I always figured you for guts. But I never gave you any credit for brains 'til now. ”
“ It takes a smart man to know when to back away ”
“ Seems like all everybody wants is to get me out of town. ”
“ You think about a lot of things when you're tired. ”
“ I hate this town. I always hated it. ”
“ You just stop 'til I tell you to start again. ”
“ I can handle a gun, you ought to see me. ”
“ Can't you wait? ”
“ I'll come out. Let her go. ”

Part 2: The Sacrifice
You wake up to the touch of gentle fingers running down your jaw. Your first instinct is to smile, and the melodic sound of your wife's giggle follows your action the next instant.
"Good morning, my love." She whispers, her voice hoarse from lack of use, and you fight sleep to open your eyes. "Good morning, darling." You say dumbly, completely mesmerized by her beauty. When she smiles at you, you're sure you're a goner.
"Can you hear that?" You ask after a minute, and Wanda smiles broadly, snuggling into bed. "Complete silence." She replies humorously, and you nod in confirmation.
"That's a rarity." You comment, making the redhead let out an amused chuckle, humming in confirmation. "And how do you want to enjoy these unusual minutes of peace?" She asks, her suggestive tone making you smirk.
"Hmm, I have an idea." That's the answer you give before advancing towards her, and Wanda giggles against your lips as she matches the kiss. As your fingers run down her body, however, her laughter dies down, turning into a sigh as your fingertips find her skin under her blouse.
"Mom! Mama!" The shouts coming from the hallway make you grunt in dissatisfaction and Wanda giggles as you bury your face in her neck, the rushing footsteps becoming louder and louder. "Peace is over."
As soon as the last word leaves her mouth the bedroom door opens at once, revealing two figures in pajamas, who waste no time in jumping on the bed next to you. "Good morning!"
"Good morning, boys!" You and Wanda respond at the same time, hugging Billy and Tommy and sitting up in bed to try to match at least 5% of all that excitement.
"Can we have pancakes for breakfast?" Tommy asks, looking between you and Wanda with pleading eyes. "And bacon!" Billy adds energetically and the other twin nods in agreement. "Lots of bacon!"
You and Wanda share a laugh at the boys' behavior, but soon you feign a serious expression. "Pancakes and lots of bacon. Are you taking notes, Chef Wanda?"
"I am, chef Y/n, pancakes and lots of bacon for breakfast it is." The redhead replies in the same tone as yours, but soon smiles appear back on your faces as the boys shout excitedly.
"But first, let's all brush our teeth, shall we?" Wanda interrupts the celebration in that motherly warning tone that always amuses you, and the boys exchange glances before shouting, "Race to the bathroom!"
"Be careful!" You yell, but Billy and Tommy are already sprinting toward the bathroom, and you laugh as you shake your head in amused disapproval. "How do they manage to have so much energy first thing in the morning?"
"I don't know. But of one thing I'm sure," Wanda says, and waits for you to look at her to add, "we're going to miss this when they grow up."
"Absolutely, I'm not ready to have two cranky teenagers in the house." You agree with a laugh, and seeing the redhead stand up, you get out of bed as well.
"Neither am I, but we'll work it out." She says lovingly, her eyes shining at you as she waits for you to go into the en suite bathroom together, and you smile back, wrapping your arms around her waist.
"Definitely. As long as we're together, anything is possible." You say wholeheartedly, and her sweet smile is all you see before she closes the distance between your faces.
"Y/n?" The voice sounds distant and muffled, as if you were underwater. And even though your eyelids hurt, you force them open, meeting before your eyes the blurred figures of Wong and America.
"What happened?" You ask with a grunt as you try to stand up, and the other two help you back to your feet. "As soon as Wanda sensed America in another universe she left Kamar Taj." Wong tells, and only now do you notice the bruises on his face.
"The fight was short but... It left several casualties." He adds in a tone of sorrow, and you press your lips together in a sad smile of empathy. Bringing your hand to your face, you feel the wetness under your nose, and sigh at the sight of your blood-stained fingers as you bring them back into your field of vision.
"You managed to contain Wanda." America remarks as she follows you to the kitchen sink, and you wash your face before saying, "She was dreamwalking, it was easier to hold her back."
"You call that easy?! You passed out!" The girl asks, slightly stunned, but you just wipe your face on a clean cloth. Noticing that there's someone missing in the kitchen, you frown. "Strange..."
"He stayed in the other universe." America tells you sadly, and your countenance falls into sorrowful understanding. The girl shakes her head, though. "We need to get him-"
"No." Wong interjects. "If we don't stop Wanda now it may be too late." The Sorcerer Supreme's argument doesn't seem to please the girl one bit, so you offer her a small smile. "We'll go after him when this is all over."
Chavez ponders the possibilities, but soon after she sighs, nodding her head in agreement. "And where is she now?" the girl asks, and Wong shrugs. "Maybe at her farm."
"She's not there." You answer with certainty, making the other two look at you with confusion. "While we were fighting I got into her mind and she got into mine." You explain, sighing heavily before saying, "She knows about Wundagore Mountain."
"What is Wundagore Mountain?" America asks, clueless, and Wong takes his apprehensive look away from you to bring it to the girl. "It's where Chthon wrote the Darkhold, where his magic is strongest."
"It's the Temple of the Scarlet Witch, and we need to go there before she learns to amplify her powers." You add, and the Sorcerer Supreme looks at you with confusion. "But, Y/n, without The Book of Vishanti it's a suicide mission!"
"I know, but I don't have a better plan than this." You argue, and Wong clenches his jaw. After a moment's thought, he sighs in surrender, equally without a better plan.
"Okay, kid, if you allow me, I can show you where Wundagore is. I promise not to see any of your thoughts." You say, approaching America and waiting for her consent.
"I do. But stop calling me kid." She complains with an amused smirk, and you laugh through your nose before nodding in agreement. The next moment you raise your fingers to America's temples, and the girl sees your eyes turn green before the scene around her changes completely.
Before her eyes, instead of the cozy kitchen, Chavez sees a huge castle on top of a high mountain, the dark stone of the building contrasting with the snow and clouds that drift past it.
"Did you see it?" you ask as you bring her back to reality, and America blinks a few times to get used to the change of scenery. "Can you take us there?" The girl nods in confirmation to your questions, and you smile proudly.
"Great." You say to her, soon after turning to the man next to you with a serious expression on your face. "Before we go... Wong, your priority is the book. I'll take care of the witch. Whatever happens, get the Darkhold and take it to a safe place. Promise me."
The Sorcerer Supreme looks at you with an uncertain countenance, but you hold his gaze firmly, the pleading behind your eyes compelling him to agree. "I promise." He says finally, making you let out a breath of relief. "But first..."
Instead of finishing his sentence, Wong moves his hands, making several yellow symbols appear around your body that you recognize as protection spells. "That should hold the effect of the Dark Magic for a while."
"Thanks." You say with a smile as the spell is absorbed into your body, and the Sorcerer Supreme nods in retribution. You then exchange looks of confirmation with America, placing yourself at her right hand side. As Wong positions himself on the other side, the girl opens the portal in front of you.
As you step through the star-shaped crack, your body vibrates uncomfortably with the sudden intensity of the Dark Magic around you, forcing you to take a step back to keep your balance.
"Are you okay?" America asks as she notices your behavior and you smile in an attempt to reassure her. "I've been better." You respond humorously, but the girl swallows dryly with concern.
Ignoring the nausea in your stomach, you look ahead, the Darkhold Fortress towering imposing on the mountain peak in front of the one you are now standing on. Narrowing your eyes, you can see the scarlet red light emanating from within the place.
"Hold yourselves." You say as you work your magic, and in the next moment the three of you are flying toward the immense dark building. As soon as you land, your breath gets caught in your throat at the sight before your eyes.
The Darkhold Fortress is even more imposing up close, with its dark stone structures stretching meters to the ceiling. The walls and pilasters are decorated and carved, and two figures in particular catch your eye: that of the Scarlet Witch on the main wall, and a boy in a cape that you have never seen before.
In the center, a huge platform rests. On it, the Scarlet Witch herself, cross-legged and floating in the air as the red magic dances around her. From the way it moves, you imagine that she's using it to find America.
"Wanda! Stop this madness!" It is Wong who says, exasperated, and the redhead opens her eyes majestically, a smirk at the corner of her mouth. "Don't you ever get tired of defeat, Sorcerer?" She teases, but her debauched posture falters immediately at the sight of you. "You again. Who are you?"
"I'm Y/n." You introduce yourself, feeling the weight of her magic on your brain as she tries to read his mind but without success. The woman's expression becomes unamused, her head tilted slightly to the side in irritation at the information that is of no use to her. "Why are you in my dreams?"
"Because we know each other, in other universes." You reply, ignoring your companions' exclamations as you take slow steps toward her, your posture appeasing. "I... I know you."
"If you know me, you know better than to stand in my way." Wanda says through clenched teeth, her chin held high in an authoritative posture, and you sigh. "Give me the girl."
"No." You answer firmly, and watch the witch's eyes turn red as she stares at you with a countenance hardened by irritation, glaring at you dangerously. "I won't ask again."
"Yeah, I had a feeling that would be the case." You hit back, and at the same instant your eyes glow green, the redhead starts attacking you with her magic.
Instead of attacking her back, you opt for protection spells, providing cover not only for yourself but for Wong and America as well. In the meantime, the pair tries to reach the Darkhold, which is hovering in the air above the stone platform.
But the Scarlet Witch's offensive attitude gives her the advantage over you, and she manages not only to keep you busy with her attacks, but also to prevent Wong and America from getting anywhere near the book.
You weren't far behind, though, defending absolutely every attack she made against you and your group, making her grunt in irritation. "Why do you care so much about this child?!" She asks impatiently between one energy blast and another, and you sigh. "Because she reminds me of my own."
Your answer, accompanied by your emotion-laden gaze, makes the redhead hesitate for a second, flashes of her dreams like memories racing through her mind. And because of that moment of uncertainty, neither of you sees a sphere of black energy being thrown at Wanda, sending her falling backwards.
You turn to check where the attack came from, and raise your eyebrows slightly in horror when you see an almost demonic-looking figure hovering in the air a few meters from where you are. When you notice a certain familiarity about the creature, however, you smile. "Strange?! You look..."
"Rotten." The man replies wearily, and you let out an incredulous chuckle. But before you can say anything else, a blast of red energy sends him several feet backwards.
"Dreamwalking, hypocrite!" Wanda exclaims angrily through gritted teeth, preparing a powerful channeling of magic toward Strange's fallen body.
Before she can do so, you stand in the way, containing the energy beam with your own, Chaos Magic and Order Magic meeting once again that same day.
Just as before, you feel your body beginning to give in to fatigue, but the protection spells Wong did on you before you came here help keep you on your feet.
However, not all the magical protection you know would be able to stop the Scarlet Witch's magic from affecting you inside the The Darkhold Fortress, and it's not long before you feel blood running down your nose.
"Wanda, stop, we're both gonna die this way!" You practically plead, struggling to remain standing as your legs threaten to stop working at any moment. Wanda, though also weakened by the duel, is holding up much better than you, and the redhead smirks as she realizes as much. "It's okay, I just need you to die first."
"I'll help you!" America's desperate shout attracts the attention of both of you, and as the girl fights Wong's hold on her to get closer, Wanda looks at her with questioning eyes. "Stop, and I'll help you. I'll take you to your children."
The bargain works in the same instant, and the redhead stops attacking you to focus her attention completely on America. In the meantime, you fall to your knees, gasping wearily from the confrontation. Lucky for you, much of the protection spell performed by Wong was still there.
"No tricks." The witch says to the girl in a threatening tone, and Chavez nods in agreement, risking a worried look at you before straightening her posture.
Punching the air, America opens a portal before your eyes. The star-shaped crack leads to a living room, like the one before it, but which looks nothing like the one in your house.
In the room, two children are sitting on the couch, playing video games on the television in the corner, and it's impossible not to hear the loud sob escaping Wanda's lips, her eyes filling with tears.
As soon as the two boys notice the multiversal crack, they look in your direction, and immediately widen their eyes as they notice the figure of the redhead, screaming in terror as they run off. "Mom! Help! The witch is here!"
"Billy! Tommy! Wait!" Wanda asks desperately before following them, and you stand up with difficulty, going after her. America makes mention of going along with you, but you stop her with a reassuring wave of your hand.
Still screaming, the boys make their way up the stairs, meeting their real mother halfway up, who comes running down with a worried expression. As soon as the witch sees her variant hugging the boys, her countenance turns to hatred, red magic forming between her fingers. "Stay away from them!"
"No!" you shout almost simultaneously, forming a shield between the family and the Wanda of your universe to protect them from the attack. Your action makes all four of them look at you, and you notice the Wanda variant's jaw drop ever so slightly.
"Y/n?" The brunette calls out in a shocked whisper, putting her body in front of the boys in a defensive posture as she approaches you, and you take your cue to walk up to her, who gasps softly. "Is it really you?"
"Not the one you knew, I suppose." You respond with gentle humor as you stand facing her, and the brunette smiles a nostalgic smile, her eyes filling with tears as she brings a hand to your face.
"You look so young." She comments, her voice trembling with emotion, stroking your cheek with her thumb. "And you look even more beautiful than in my dreams." You retort sweetly, making her smile widen.
Dropping your gaze to the children behind her, you smile reassuringly. But the two of them only move even closer to their mother, terrified.
"We're not going to hurt you." You assure, looking at the brunette again. "Right?" You add as you turn to the Wanda from your universe, standing a few feet behind you, her eyes flooded with tears as she nods slightly.
"I just wanted to... My boys." The redhead breaks into sobs, falling to her knees on the ground. The sight makes your heart break into a million pieces, but before you can do anything, Wanda's variant is giving your shoulder a squeeze, and approaching the witch.
As she stops facing the fallen woman, the brunette gently brings her hand to her face. The redhead, taken aback by the sudden caress, opens her eyes, watery and questioning, but the other just smiles. "Be sure they'll be loved."
You let out a small sad smile at the interaction, walking back to the side of the Wanda from your universe. As the witch begins to cry even harder, you ask with a motion of your head for America to close the portal, and you only have time to exchange a brief glance with the other Wanda before the living room vanishes before your eyes.
Back at the Darkhold Fortress, silence prevails among you.
"That can't... It can't be true... It can't... I thought..." Wanda lets out bewilderedly. Her eyes run around without focusing on any particular point, panic written on each of her features as she cries, and you take no time in getting in front of her, kneeling down as well so that your face is at the height of hers.
"These voices in your head." You begin, and wait for the redhead to look at you before continuing. "They're powerful. I know. But they're not yours." You tell, and when the witch frowns, you smile reassuringly. "Let me show you."
Wanda watches you extend your hand to her with a wary expression, her eyes fixed on your palm waiting for hers. Sensing the witch's hesitation, you decide to insist. "You can trust me."
Your sentence has the redhead raising her eyes to yours immediately, the sound echoing in her mind, taking her back to a dream from months ago, where the two of you were sitting on a rooftop of a building and you had made her forget all her fears.
Now, even for an instant, the sentence has that same power, and Wanda extends her trembling palm over yours, holding your wrist as you hold hers. You smile at her in appreciation, but all the redhead does is swallow dryly in response.
Before she can change her mind, you let go of the protection spells Wong had done on you so that your magic and Wanda's can meet without hindrance, the yellow symbols leaving your body into the air around you. Seeing what you're doing, the Sorcerer Supreme frowns. "Y/n, don't-"
You interrupt his speech with a warning stare, and the man falls silent. When you look at Wanda again, you nod your head in an attempt to reassure her, and sigh heavily to gather the courage to do what you have to do.
As your magic vibrates around your entwined hands, it stimulates the redhead's to come out as well, who gasps softly at the tingling sensation spreading from there throughout the rest of her body, her vision darkening.
The next moment, however, an immense sense of relief begins to take over Wanda, the voices she had been hearing every day all day long slowly leaving her head, the bad feelings that were consuming her subsiding.
At the same time, all the Darkhold corruption was being absorbed into your body, burning in your veins before being destroyed by the Order Magic in your being. The process was painful, and even more energy draining than confronting Wanda, but you fight the weight on your eyelids, trying to stay awake for as long as you can, even though you couldn't see anything around you.
For those watching from the outside, the scene is hauntingly beautiful. Your magics dance around the two of you at high speed, merging in the air in golden streaks. The point of greatest energy is in your entwined hands, a strong flash radiating from there. The eyes of both of you glow just as brightly, in the respective colors of your magics.
Focusing on your figure specifically, America can see thick trickles of blood oozing from your nostrils and ears, and she widens her eyes as soon as realization hits. Before she can run to you, however, Wong holds her by the arm.
"She's dying!" The girl shouts in exasperation, turning to the Sorcerer Supreme with tear-filled eyes. But the man just nods wearily, a sad countenance on his face. "She knows."
Strange, across the room, watches the entire interaction with sorrow, and even though he can't move due to the magic Wanda has cast on him, he feels he needs to do something.
"America!" He shouts as an idea crosses his mind, charming the Darkhold so that it floats toward the girl. Chavez holds the floating item, and when she looks again at the other's cadaverous figure, he says, "You need to leave."
"But-"
"Now!"
America looks at you again, the mist of magic around you and Wanda becoming more powerful by the instant. Wong, beside her, rests his hand on the girl's shoulder, smiling reassuringly. "It's okay."
Sniffing softly, Chavez nods, surrendered. Opening a portal to Kamar Taj, the two of them cross to the other side, the Book of the Damned secured under the girl's arm. And, looking between you and Strange one last time, she closes the multiversal gap.
A brief moment passes before the latent magic between you and Wanda explodes, sending the two of you long feet apart from each other with a blinding golden magic. Your head spins violently, but the sensation lasts for less than a second before all your senses are consumed by the void.
When you regain your sight, you find yourself in the clearing of a forest. The sunlight is strong but doesn't bother your eyes, and the warmth is just enough to be comforting.
Amidst the vivid nature that surrounds you, you notice a small dirt path cutting through the trees. A funny feeling in your chest tells you that you should follow it, so that's what you do.
You have no idea how long you've been walking, but at some point the trail ends, leaving you in front of a huge lake, so wide it could easily be mistaken for an ocean.
Near the edge, you see a woman picking some flowers, wearing a long robe, as green as the grass under her bare feet, and with hair as dark blue as a starry night framing her peaceful countenance.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Oshtur." You say with a smile as you approach her, and the Goddess raises her gaze to you, a motherly smile on her lips. "Welcome to paradise, my child, you have served your purpose well."
"That's it, then. I died." You comment, slightly upset, and the woman lets out a chuckle as she releases the yellow flower in her hands. You watch it fall to the ground and turn into a beautiful flowering bush.
"Death is relative for Vital Energy bearers, Y/n, you can never be truly gone." Oshtur speaks, her melodic voice drawing your eyes back to hers. "However, if you're talking about your current living, the answer is no. Yet."
You frown at the addition of the word, and the Goddess smiles gently. "Would you like to see it?" She inquires, and when you nod in confirmation, she rests a hand on your shoulder, guiding you closer to the lake.
Doing as her hand directs, you gaze into the crystal clear water with curiosity. There, you can see the reflections of the two of you, as well as the earth on the bottom and a few small fish swimming back and forth. When you blink, however, the image transforms.
As if watching from above, you see your unconscious body in the Darkhold Fortress, Wanda's body several steps away from where you are. Unlike you, though, the redhead begins to move, sitting up on the ground and bringing one hand to her head. You notice with a smile that the black marks on her fingertips are gone.
"You have rid her of Chthon's corruption." Oshtur comments beside you, resting a hand on your shoulder. You bring your gaze briefly to her, exchanging a contented smile, but soon your attention returns to the reflection in the lake.
There, the witch looks around, as if recalling what happened before she passed out. When her eyes rest on your unconscious figure, she widens them in terror.
"Y/n!" Wanda lets out, running toward you, and you feel your heart clench at the desperate way she hugs your body against her chest, one of her hands on your face as she tries to wake you up.
When the redhead realizes her attempts are to no avail, she chokes on a sob, her hand resting on your chest as the Chaos Magic dances around her fingers down into your body.
"Stop!" it's Strange who says, and Wanda looks startled at the zombified body on the ground a few steps from where she is. "She has Order Magic running through her veins, whatever you do will only make her worse."
"That's not true." You comment, your eyebrows frowning heavily as you involuntarily step forward closer to the edge of the lake, your heart beating fast.
"They can't hear you." Oshtur speaks next to you, a gentle tone with a hint of humor, and you blink a few times, nodding as you return your gaze to the lake. "You're right, sorry."
On the physical plane, the redhead has thick tears as she returns her gaze to your unconscious figure, the red energy fading. "I'm sorry." She whispers quietly, sniffling as she carefully returns your body to the floor.
Getting up, the witch makes her way slowly to the stone platform in the center of the hall, placing herself on her knees as tears run freely down her cheeks. When she does so, she returns her watery eyes to Stephen.
"No one will ever be tempted by The Darkhold again." Wanda assures, her countenance surprisingly peaceful despite the clear pain in her eyes, and you feel an unease begin to grow in your chest.
Looking forward, the redhead closes her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. Opening them again, Wanda raises her hands into the air, the Chaos Magic once more in her hands.
As a result, red energy spreads through the walls of the temple, lifting the building from the ground. When you realize what's happening, you frown in despair. "Wha-What is she doing?"
"You have an important decision to make now, Y/n." Oshtur calls out beside you, but you only look at her when you realize that the image in the lake is frozen. When your eyes meet those of the Goddess, she smiles softly.
"The balance of life depends on the existence of the masters of the Chaos Magic and the Order Magic." She speaks, and you nod in understanding at the information you had already learned during your studies. "If one of them exists alone, the balance is compromised. But if both are gone, the balance remains intact until both return in new existences."
Her last sentence makes you look down again, the figure of Wanda about to give up her own life in an act of redemption, and Oshtur waits for you to return your gaze to her before proceeding to speak. "You can stay here. Or you can return to your earthly existence. If you do, however, you must save her, to maintain the balance of the multiverse. But remember, your role with the Cosmos has already been fulfilled, you are free to rest."
The Goddess flashes you a gentle, reassuring smile. But you know deep in your heart that you would never be able to rest without having done everything you could to save her.
"I wanna go back." You decide. "There's still a lot I can do, and I... I want to help her find the peace she seeks." You add, resolute, and Oshtur nods in understanding, extending her hand toward the lake. "As you wish."
You look at the water again, but frown as you notice that the image of the Darkhold Fortress is gone. Returning your gaze to the Goddess, you see her walking away, toward the forest, and you realize the conversation is over.
So you do the only thing you could do in the direction Oshtur pointed you in, walking forward into the lake. The water is cold, but just enough to counterbalance the warmth of the sun, your body getting used to the change in temperature easily.
When the water level is about waist high, you dive in, swimming forward without hesitation. With each new stroke, you feel your body relaxing, your eyes heavy. Before you can swim further, you black out.
Your body is no longer wet when you wake up, and you open your eyes in time to see the stones of the temple begin to fall. You stand up suddenly, Oshtur's blessing soothing all the aches and pains in your body.
"Wanda!" You call out, and the redhead looks at you visibly shocked that you are alive. Instead of ceasing her magic, though, she smiles sadly at you. "Get out of here, Y/n." She commands, but you shake your head in denial. "Not without you."
"It's the only way." Wanda says in a broken whisper of farewell, and you clench your jaw, sighing wearily. "I really hate that phrase."
And then the redhead lets go of the magic in her hands, the walls crashing to the ground, breaking into slabs of concrete as the entire fortress collapses. Wanda closes her eyes, accepting her fate, but you pick up the pace, moving your hands to execute your magic.
Instead of the crushing impact of the stones, what the witch feels is your body against hers as you push her backwards. The two of you roll together for a few feet, and when the stone under her body turns to soft grass, the redhead frowns.
"What did you do?!" Wanda asks in exasperation as she takes note of the surroundings, a wide lawn as a round portal closes in front of you, making the image of the falling Darkhold Fortress disappear before her eyes.
"I stopped you from knocking down a temple over your head." You respond with light humor, your breathing ragged with adrenaline. Beside you, the redhead's countenance contorts in sorrow, her voice quivering from crying as she says, "I'm sorry."
"It's okay." You assure her lovingly, wrapping your arms around her and pulling her tight to you. Not having the strength to fight the care she feels she doesn't deserve, Wanda snuggles into you, her arms around your waist as she sinks her face into your neck. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
The words of apology and regret continue and you follow them all with loving words of reassurance, one of your hands running soothingly down her back as the other strokes her hair.
The redhead makes no mention of moving away from you even after long minutes of you nestling in that position on the floor, but you don't care. You would stay there with her for as long as she needed you to.

And that's it! A bit of sadness but it all worked out…. For now 😅 let me know your thoughts! Comments and theories are always welcome!

Short Story: Invisible
So when I said things should be calming down, things got to shit real quick. Like plz, could the drama stop.
Anyways, I saw the new season for Halo Infinite and it's cool. I like seeing my spartan in cutscenes, it really adds into that you are there.
Halo Reach belongs to 343 Industries.
My spartan oc (Avery) belongs to me.
Repost with credit.
1. Invisible
Despite the heavy armor and bright red highlights, most didn’t notice her presence unless her skills were called upon. Avery didn’t care. Her duty was to serve humanity, to protect them from danger. She didn't need to be anything else.
Yet, there’s this bubbling feeling inside. It threatened to boil over every time she was with Noble team; the light brushes against her arm, her name being called by them, seeing them all grouped together. She felt it pound at her chest, watching them from the corner. Sometimes she felt herself reaching towards them.
Avery rubbed her neck, the feeling returning as she observed them chat as they ate. The cafeteria providing a nice noise distraction. She tried to focus on random conversations rather than the one here. Hearing Kat laugh sent the feeling twisting in her stomach. It bubbled until it reached her heart. She didn’t know why or how; her chest tightened, she couldn’t breathe.
She stumbled up. It made the conversation pause. She knew their eyes were on her, but she dashed away. Avery didn’t stop until she was alone in whatever hallway she chose; she hit the wall with her shoulder as she took a deep breath. The feeling only tightened its hold, and she gasped, reaching up to press her hand to her chest.
“Avery?”
The voice echoed in her mind; the voice changing to Aaron’s. She remembered why she never bothered with friends- she couldn’t handle losing more people. It would be better if you didn't get connected at all. Her duty gave her a purpose.
“Is this what you want?” She remembered Aaron asking her once, a look in his eyes she never understood. “To just fight and kill when you’re commanded to. Is that what makes you happy? What’s your choice, Avery?”
Avery gasped again, sliding down the wall. He had been so upset that day. She couldn’t understand why he had asked her that. Why had he had a look in his eyes? Was it sadness, or possibly anger? It was something. She didn’t have any complaints about her life; a spartan’s duty is for humanity. She would fight with her life to protect others. She was okay with that. There isn't time for anything else.
She is okay with that. The feeling told her otherwise. She gripped her shirt tighter; it bubbled in her throat. Everything she pushed back came rushing back. Was it a mistake to join Noble? She wanted to be with them, to enjoy their company; playing a card game with Jorge, discussing mission plans with Carter, fighting enemies with Emile, doing scout missions with Jun, and Kat. It felt peaceful when they were there.
“Avery? You just ran out. Jorge got worried.”
She shouldn’t have gotten close. She remembered why she pushed everything back. Avery slowly looked up and saw Kat standing beside her. “... I… I’m scared, Kat.”
Kat sat down beside her, Avery fought with herself, wanting to hug her. “What are you scared of? If you’re worried about the upcoming mission, then-”
“No!” Avery buried her face in her knees, not wanting to show her teary eyes. Embarrassment flooded her body. This had to be childish. Death is a part of life. Something that is drilled into them during training. “I just… I…”
“Hey, what’s going on?” Kat’s hand felt warm on her shoulder.
“Kat,” Avery dared to peek through her arm, “I fear losing Noble.” Kat blinked and leaned back before squeezing Avery’s shoulder.
“Even if we don’t have that fancy title of yours, we don’t die that easily.” Avery released a shaky breath when she leaned into Kat, squeezing her eyes shut as she listened to her steady heartbeat. “We may be Spartan III’s, but it will take a lot to kill us all.” Kat slowly reached up, running her fingers through Avery’s hair, relaxing as Avery did. “I’ve never… seen you like this. What happened?”
Avery kept her head pressed against Kat’s shoulder. “I… Aaron used to ask me these life questions a lot growing up. We had a big fight before… it happened. He wanted to know if I was happy with my life. You know,” she narrowed her eyes, “being a good follower for orders, I didn’t care, not when they were dead. Then I came here.”
“Oh?”
“You guys confuse me.” Avery pulled back. The bubbling feeling disappeared, but her heartbeat didn’t slow. “I can’t lose anymore people, okay? If I do, I’m going to break and no one will fix it. If Noble dies, if you die, I won’t be able to deal with it. It’s too much.”
“And you won’t,” Kat took one of Avery’s hands, “we all have our strengths separately, but we’re stronger together. As long as Noble stands together, nothing can stop us.” She placed a key chain in her palm; it was a triangle with two swords through it. “We won’t fall.”

Love Confessions in the Bathroom
CONTENT: Hair pulling, fluff and smut, choking, riding, femdom, cunnilingus
SUMMARY: You and Simon stick together while everyone is changing, giving him the opportunity to tell you how he feels. You two go to "Pound Town".
Tumblr media
(btw this is my first time posting on Tumblr so be patient pls‼️)
If you repost please give credits ‼️‼️
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You sigh and you lean against the bathroom counter, staring into the mirror. To say the least, it had been a rough night. Every time you closed your eyes, you saw Nurse Beddy getting killed. Over and over. A clatter from one of the stalls broke you out of your thoughts.
"Blue is really my color." Simon stated as he unlocked and opened the stall door. He paused when he saw how you leaned against the counter like it was the only thing keeping you from collapsing to the floor. He walked over and gently patted your hair.
"Thinking about the hospital again?" He asked gently, causing your heart to pang in your chest. It only made you realize that none of your friends deserved to be going through this shit.
"Yeah. I just keep seeing it, ya know? It happened to quickly." You replied, rubbing your hands on your arms as goosebumps appeared on your skin. It made you feel nauseous to think about it.
"Can I tell you something? I just wanna say it in case..." He didn't finish his sentence but you knew what he meant to say. You nodded, turning towards him slightly.
"Okay, uh. Well-" He fumbled over his words, his face starting to turn pink. You chuckled softly as he placed his hands over his face in embarassment.
"Don't laugh, but uh. I really like you y/n. Like, a lot. In a romantic way." You smiled, and gently placed your index finger over his lips. Somehow, his face turned an even brighter shade of red.
"I like you too, dork. Since like, middle school." You said and removed your finger from his lips. He reached out and gently grabbed your hand, holding up to his mouth and placing a kiss against your knuckles. Just that small kiss made your heart skip a beat.
"I'm glad. Really glad." He murmured, pulling you closer by the waist with his other hand. You cupped his face with both hands, taking a moment to gaze into his eyes before kissing him. The kiss started out gentle enough, but progressed into a kiss filled with need. It was unlike anything you've ever experienced. You've kissed people before, sure, but it had never felt like this. Simon's tongue gently traced your bottom lip and you opened your mouth instantly, letting his tongue dip into your mouth. You couldn't help the moan that came out of you as he expertly kissed you.
"Fuck-" Simon cursed under his breath as the kiss became sloppy and his hands reached for the hem of your shirt. He practically ripped it off, your bra soon coming off too. You blushed as he paused to gaze at you, nothing but love in his eyes.
"You're beautiful y/n." His voice was raspy as he pushed you against the counter, taking a nipple into his mouth. You moaned as his tongue swirled around the sensitive bud. He began to stimulate your other nipple with his hand, pulling and twisting it. You had finally had enough. You brushed your fingers into his soft hair and pulled hard, forcing him to look at your face.
"Simon, I need you." Was all you said before you unbuttoned your shorts. He got the gist and removed your shorts as quick as possible. Your underwear followed quick behind. Simon lifted you up to sit on the counter and dipped between your legs leaving small kisses and bites on the insides of your thighs. Your fingers curled into his hair as his tongue swirled your clit. You covered your mouth, hoping it would muffle your moans enough to keep your friends from asking too much about what happened in here.
You whimpered as Simon's tongue dipped into you, and that familiar knot began to coil in the pit of your stomach. You arched your back, pushing his head down more, and he happily took that as a sign to keep tongue fucking you.
"Fuck, Simon-" You gasped out as you came. He looked up at you, your juices on his mouth and chin. It looked unbelievably hot.
"Simon, lay down." You ordered, sliding off the counter.
"Gladly." He said teasingly, and laid down on the bathroom floor. He was rock hard, but wanted you to feel good before he thought about himself. You made quick work of removing his pants and boxers before lowering yourself to straddle his hips. You could feel his dick pressing against your back.
"You don't have to, y/n." Simon said softly, rubbing your back so gently it almost made you burst into tears.
"No, I want to." You said firmly and he nodded. His hands rested on your waist as you lined him up with your entrance and slowly slid down. You winced and he nearly made you get off but you assured him that everything was fine. Soon he was fully Inside you, and a red-faced mess. Once you were used to it, you began to move your hips at a slow pace.
"Fuck, please y/n-" He begged, tears pooling in his eyes. His dick was throbbing inside you begging for release. You smirked and started to move your hips much faster, causing him to moan so cutely. His fingers dug into your waist as he bucked his hips up into you, causing you both to curse. You reached down, closing your hand around his neck and squeezing, careful not to hurt him. Simon moaned out loudly, and held your wrist with one hand. You felt yourself getting closer and closer, especially when he kept fucking up into you. Judging by how his hips started to stutter, he was close too.
One more thrust of his finally sent you over the edge, nearly screaming as you came on his dick. He nearly screamed too, by how you squeezed his dick like that.
"Fuck, fuck- m'gonna cum-" He whimpered out. You squeezed his throat harder, making him thrust one more time before you moved off of him just in time for him to pull out and cum on the floor.
"Holy shit, y/n. We should do that more often." He panted out and rolled onto his side to face you as you say next to his body. You gently brushed your fingers through his hair.
"Come on, Si. Let's get you cleaned up." You leaned down and kissed him gently.
Loki x Reader
1989, chapter 13
"…"
Summary: It's hard to find the one, but even if you do find him it's always going to be a daily struggle to make it work. Can you even make it work after he broke your heart? The answer to that is complicated, but it all started when you found each other again in the stark tower- and that's where our story begins.
Word count: 7,224
Warnings: angst, some unreliable narrator, and… closure.
A/N: this is the last chapter of the series (besides the epilogue) and so the secret message of the song will not be at the top of the post but rather at the bottom. A perfect closer. Thank you so much for reading this, I worked so hard to write it and I am so happy that I get to finish it with you guys. I am so emotional right now.
A/N: a special thank you @chrissquares for the amazing dividers she made me, and to @nacho-bucky for beta reading all of this!
No one is allowed to repost my writing or steal or copy my work! Reblog on tumblr is fine.
Loki sat in his room on his soft bed; he used the soft delicate covers under his fingers to ground himself as he drifted into his thoughts.
He loved you, he loves you, he will always love you. He knew that, there was no hiding it. There was no hiding the feeling that erupts within him whenever he sees you smile at him, or when you touched him and everything else faded away but your touch, or even the feeling thumping in his chest when he spent the day without you.
He was in love- it was as simple as that.
You loved him, you love him. He knew that, you never let him doubt it when you saw him doubt himself at the very beginning of the relationship. He was clever enough to know that you never lied to him.
Will you continue loving him when you will give it all up? When this is all over?
"You what?" Loki was sitting on your couch and you were curled up against him, you fiddled with your shiny new necklace, a bright smile on your face as you looked up at him through your lashes.
"I love you, Loki." You straightened up a bit more so you could get a better look at him. "I really do."
"You love the necklace I got you," He stated, looking at the empty box on the table and then back at your passionate eyes. He was scared of what he saw there, he must have heard you wrong because you made no sense to him. You always surprised him like that.
"Yes, I do love the necklace." You chuckled a bit and then you took his hand in yours, forcing him to look at you. "But I was talking about you. I love you. It's as simple as that."
But it was not simple, not to him.
"But-"
"No but. I just love you. I loved you even before we got together." You held both of his hands now. Understanding flashed in your eyes as you saw what lay behind his. "Don't you ever doubt that."
He squeezed your hands and leaned in to kiss you softly. He knew he loved you. But when he pulled back the words died in his throat. He opened his mouth only to close it shut. Emotions like the ones you introduced him to never came easy to him.
"I know." You said. And of course you know- you always do.
He sighed in thankfulness and you brought him to you again with your hand on his cold cheek.
He will find a way to tell you someday.
So why would you want to leave him- forget his trace on your life? He wondered to himself. People fleeting from his life wasn't something unfamiliar to him, but he has never been so sure of someone staying than you, ever since he found you on that fateful rainy day and every day that has passed since he never thought you would leave him out of your own will.
Being wrong about people did not happen often to him, he could read everyone but you didn't make sense to him now.
A shutting of the door knocked him out of his own head and of course there you were, studying him before you quietly approached him and sat on the bed.
Silence spread as you looked around the room, noting the various large bookshelves with the clearly well loved books.
"Your room is nice, it's very you," you commented over the deafening silence, you couldn't bear it.
"I always figured you'd like my book collection, and the balcony. I thought I could read to you while we are drinking your favourite tea and sitting out there. We could laugh at all the oafs that passed right below us." He let out a humorless chuckle.
"That sounds like a perfect day." You bit your lip nervously.
"Then why would you give that up?" now you turned to face him, you failed to notice the unshed tears on his face.
"Loki," you choked on your words. "I don't plan to give that up, I don't plan on giving you up!"
"But you heard what he said! And you want to go through with that nonsense, when I told you that I will figure out a way for him to leave you alone." He ran his fingers through his hair. "Do you really want to get rid of your powers that bad that you don't mind losing me, or even your Avengers family?"
"I don't want to lose anyone, I just can't stay with these powers inside of me when now for the first time I know exactly how they feel and what they do- I don't want that poisoning me. It's like a wine stained dress and I don't want to- I can't wear it anymore. I can't Loki." You went to take his hand but he slipped beyond your reaches. You scoffed and went and this time took his hands to get him to look at you. "But just like you said, I believe that you can and will find a way out of this, I know you will find a way for me to get all of my memories back- I don't doubt it one bit because you are brilliant and more so determined. So this is the way that I can lose my powers but keep everything else that I love so so deeply."
"But-"
"No, no but- I love you, Loki, and I would never give you up out of will especially after all those times you got taken from me and even when you left me. I will never let you go away. I know you can do this- and that is why I want to go through with this. I want to lose my powers, you called it ever since we met again at the tower- that is not my life, and these powers aren't mine. And that is my decision. Which is why I need you to understand me right now, I need you to understand that I'm not going to lose you, and that I still love you forever and always."
Loki couldn't help then, but remember you in your favourite dress standing with him and staring at the sunset, he told you he would always remember that moment-and he did, but it wasn't until now that he realized what you were asking him.
You never took your eyes away from his. You could see the battle inside of him when he finally relaxed in your grasp and pulled you tightly into a hug. But sometimes a hug is just an excuse to hide your face. You didn't see the tear that slipped from his eye.
"As you wish, darling."
"You're insane, you are completely insane." Steve shook his head and looked between you and Loki, before talking to the god. "How come you are okay with this? No, this is insane."
"Steve, I understand you're scared but Loki will find a way to bring me back- it will all be okay. It might take some time but I will be back here making sassy jokes at you in no time." You walked to him and wrapped your arms around him.
"Punk it'll be alright, just think of it like when you put me under again in Wakanda." Bucky chimed in and he wasn't wrong- but for Steve it only made it worse, first Bucky couldn't remember him and he lost him for a long time and now if you go through with your plan then you won't remember him either. How can he be okay with it?
"Loki, don't you have anything to say here?" The captain walked away from your hug. The god averted his eyes to the floor; he opened his mouth calculating his words.
"It's her choice captain, I had my own reservations regarding it," Loki now looked directly at the captain. "But all I want is what's best for her, I will do what is needed."
"What about Odin, huh? He can't just do whatever he wants- so what if he wants to take away your powers! I will fight him if I have to, he can't force you to do anything."
"Well Steve, my father might actually send an-"
"I never knew that was an option, I never thought I would be able to live like I used to- without my powers. I know you can get me out of this, I know Loki can get me out of it but I want this. I agree to this." You cut Thor off and brought the attention back to you. Tony rose up then.
"How do you know that you can bring her memories back, mischief?"
Loki scoffed.
"I only lost the battle of New York because I wanted to so give me and my magic more credit." Then Loki surprised you and walked towards the door. "Captain, if I may?"
Loki gestured outside and you were surprised at how Steve went without any issue. The door closed behind the two of them.
It was a while later that they came back and you could see Steve's eyes were red.
"Why don't we order pizza and you can pick a movie to watch?" he suggested. You nodded at him and you could say that you didn't tear up then but that would be a lie.
So there you sat with your friends- with your family, and you ate pizza and laughed at the movie. You talked about everything and nothing. You lay against Steve's chest and he hugged you as the movie kept playing.
You treasured every second with them. You knew you will come back to them soon enough but it didn't make you any less emotional during the entire night.
Just because you will not remember forgetting anyone of them, just because you won't feel the lack, doesn't mean you won't miss them.
You fidgeted with Loki besides you as you got ready to enter the room that will end all of this.
"Are you sure this is what you want?" Loki rubbed your back and took both of your hands to stop you from fidgeting.
"Yes, I don't know why I'm so nervous."
"It's okay to be nervous my love, but I will take care of you."
"I know you will." You shyly smiled up at him and returned his hug. "I trust you."
Loki opened the doors and walked with you inside. The throne room looked the same and yet for you it felt the difference all the same. Walking with a different form of dread into the cold room and a loud beating heart- you couldn't deny the fear that still lingered there.
"So, you finally came. Step to the side my son." You scoffed at that when Odin rose from the throne, stepped down, and raised his long staff.
"Wait!" you yelled and grabbed Loki into a hug. "I'm going to miss you, even if I won't know it. Promise you'll get me back Loki, promise you will set it all back to normal." You didn't look at him.
"I love you, more than I ever thought I could. I know I claimed it impossible but I have fallen in love with you all over and over again." He pulled back to cup your face and whispered in a weak voice. "I don't know how to say goodbye to you."
"There's only one way I'd accept it." You smiled at him through the tears, "If you've ever loved me, say it like you are going to come back."
That brought a small chuckle out of Loki.
"Well then my love, it really was enchanting to meet you." he held your hand and bowed before you. "I'll see you around, my love."
You smiled widely as you curtsied and brought him back for a kiss. It was slow, delicate, and yet it held every emotion you needed to show and every ounce of love you needed to feel.
"I'll see you in a minute, Loki."
With a soft smile he stepped back from you, his own smile faded though when his father raised the staff and he heard a chant in the background and he sent an old ancient extortion spell your way. You kept your eyes on Loki, smiling at him and memorizing him. He will get you back, you will get him back. You had no doubt about it.
His eyes teared up but he watched you.
You watched him until the pain hit you and settled in your brain, until your eyes felt foggy when you looked on at the man in front of you, until white blinded your vision and everything turned black.
Opening your eyes slowly you saw the golden sun rays seep into the room from your window as you woke up. You stretched out on the bed and reached your hand out to your side and it was cold. You looked at your hand and at the space next to you, why would you reach out there? Something at the back of your mind felt odd but you shook your head- who was for some reason aching, and got out of the bed in your apartment.
You mind felt foggy, you couldn't remember even getting to bed but you must still be tired- you just need to wake up fully. It'll all focus up in a minute surely- you had no doubt about it.
You smiled to yourself as you heated water for your tea; the routine was familiar to you and helped you clear your head. You took the time to look around your apartment, it wasn't much but it was yours. You still remembered when you first moved to New York- it was so loud and foreign but you refused to let it take over you and so instead you let it be a new chapter, a new beginning, you let it change you into who you wanted to be.
You snapped out of your thought and made your tea like you always did, it was a Saturday morning and you couldn't wait to have a chill day in, reaching out into the cabinet for another glass, but you faltered- you must have forgotten that you already made your tea.
Sitting on the couch you saw the flowers on the table they were dying of thirst- you were never good with flowers, which is why you never got any. It was probably time to throw the flowers away, so you groaned before getting up and discarding them in the bin.
Finally settling on the comfortable couch you turned on the TV and flipped through the channels until you found your favourite show. Sighing, you sipped on the tea and enjoyed the content feeling this warm moment gave you.
Loki lay on the headrest of the bed in his bedroom. It was morning now, it's been a day since you disappeared. By morning gone was any trace of you from his life, and yet you still were all over him, he couldn't find a part of him that you didn't touch. He could never wash you away.
He saw you all around his bedroom now, with countless books open and scattered on his desk, his bed, and the entire floor. He searched all of them, trying to find what you told him he would.
But now all he found was an answer he did not want to think about. So he sat and stared at the wall.
The knock on the door hardly startled him, and he was not surprised when Thor closed the door behind him and leaned against it.
"How are you doing, brother?" Thor stayed put, noticing the blank look in his brother's eyes and the books that seemed to block his way forward. "Were you up all night?"
"How could I sleep?" he let out a bitter chuckle.
"Did you manage to find something?" Loki rubbed his eyes, he didn't know how to answer that question. His lonely heart was already starting to grow colder with each hollowed hour that passed through him. He sank into his mind again.
The captain followed him outside of the room you were in. he could feel his frustration and it matched his- just almost.
"What, Loki?" Loki continued walking forward until he found a vacant room where no one will see the two of them. The soldier stopped at the door for a moment, but once he stepped through then Loki closed the door shut behind him.
"I want to show you something, captain." Loki turned to him. Steve stood taller, his blue eyes were questioning when he saw what laid in Loki's eyes, it was the first time he was sure what he saw in the trickster was real. "But you are not going to like it."
"I suppose I did find an answer." He replied to Thor, remembering back to two nights ago, when he found the way out. Just not for him.
"Well, that is tremendous news!" Thor's smile dropped when Loki did not smile with him. "What is wrong then?"
"What do you want to show me?" Loki walked to Steve with two arms open and up in the air. "Did you manage to find something?"
"I want to show you a time from before you knew her, you see, I have always loved her- but I want you to see this before we talk." Loki asked him a silent question and Steve nodded when Loki put his hands on his temples and he felt a buzz course through him before he found himself sitting in an apartment he had never seen before and there you were sitting next to Loki- you looked so much younger, so did the god.
Steve continued watching the intimate moment between the two of you, he watched the way you looked at the god and the way Loki in turn looked at you when you didn't face him.
He almost felt uncomfortable, knowing that Loki out of all people was letting him look through his own mind and memories. And then he heard you.
"I could never be a hero." His look of confusion matched that of Loki who was talking to you on the couch. He could only assume that you did not know about Loki being a god back then.
That was when he really looked at you- seeing you. He opened his mouth and closed it, his heart sank when he realized what he saw in you that was so different. You were so… light, rather than heavy. Your eyes were brighter, and more innocent- more hopeful. And mostly you were just-clean. Clean of all the blood that you have seen with your powers, clean of all the guilt and hatred. He knew you were happy with them-he knew you felt the same way as he did- but you were different here, there was no weight above your shoulders and you were clean of it all and all that was left was peace and calm inside of you. He never saw that in you. As happy as you were with him and the rest of the avengers, and as much as he knew you, he never knew you like that- he never saw who you were before.
He took a moment to look at you again, promising to himself he will remember you like this- he knew now why Loki showed him this.
"Loki, get me out." He whispered with a defeated look on his face. A moment later he was back in a vacant room with Loki. "Is that what you want?"
"Do you understand me now, Captain?" Loki nodded and lowered his eyes a bit.
"I do." Steve refused to shed the tears he felt behind his eyes.
"I have decided to let her go." He struggled with getting the words out, but he knew he would follow through with his decision- it's what's best for you.
"You what? Loki, what do you mean you are letting her go?"
"I am not going to chase after her and get her back to me- that will only lead to bad things." Loki stood up from the bed and started to whisk the books away and back on their shelves. The night was long but he knew all that he needed to know now.
"Brother, she counted on you getting her back! She trusted you with that!" Thor has seen his brother act without a thought in rare times, but now it is clear that he has thought of it for a while and yet despite of all of its nonsense he still decided to act on that.
"She trusted me to protect her, so I am. Don't you think she deserves a life free of dangers and worries?"
Thor looked at his brother and shook his head, looking down.
"Perhaps she does, but perhaps you deserve a life full of love too. Perhaps you will get that once you stop self sabotaging any good thing that comes your way."
Thor walked out the door, leaving Loki in that empty room.
The rain kept pouring all around you as you walked through the park in the dark. You didn't know what it was about the rain, but somehow you found your peace in the middle of the storm, the more the rain gushed around, dancing with the wind, the more you felt calm surrounding you. You let yourself drown in the rain that surrounded you now until you could breathe again- standing there with your umbrella you decided to sit on a bench you found up ahead, you often found yourself sitting there all alone when you felt something was missing from your life.
You sat there in silence, letting the rain soak through you without it ever touching you. You opened your coat pocket and looked at the letter that was inside the open envelope. You've had to make up your mind at some point, every part of you should say yes and you knew that it did with every time you reread the message that was written inside. You were still a bit nervous, it was exciting so of course you were a bit nervous. You knew you would not say no to this opportunity, no matter where it came from. With a small secret smile you put it back inside of your coat. You brushed the place on your neck where a necklace should be and got up to head home, and as you looked up to the stars you could almost see a twinkle in the sky, from the brightest star in the sky.
"Do you think it's a wise idea, Tony?" Steve sat in the genius' office. Tony shrugged at that.
"It's been two months Steve, I can't take it and I know you can't too!" he took off his glasses. "Don't you want her back?"
"Of course I do Tony, but I saw her- she seemed really happy."
"She was happy with us too!" Tony threw back the whiskey in his glass before filling up another one.
"Pour me one too," Steve said and ignored Tony's look. He was too tired, they all were. "But I think maybe Loki was right to choose what he did."
"Then call this a loophole! As long as we keep it up, she won't notice a thing and then we will all get what we want. We can keep an act up and soon enough it will be like nothing's changed." Tony raised an eyebrow at him before drinking from his glass. Steve downed his- it didn't faze him at all but he wished it would.
"Okay then, do it."
"Already did." Tony smirked and Steve just groaned at his friend.
"Of course you did."
"Now we just wait, my letter was pretty convincing so I am sure she will get here soon, and then she will be home in no time." Steve clucked his glass with Tony's before walking out of his office and getting on with the stuff he had to do that day.
He took the elevator down to the ground floor and looked through the paperwork he had in his hands when the doors opened. He stepped outside only to see you walking to the receptionist's desk. He stood there staring at you as if he hadn't been tracking you for months, he noticed all the ticks you had when you were nervous. That's when he snapped out of it and went to get you before the Stark worker could talk or, even worse, recognize you. He could feel his own emotions bursting inside of him and he held himself back from taking you into his arms and hugging you.
When you looked into his eye and he saw that you didn't recognize him- not really- it hurt him more than he thought it would.
"Hi." Was all he managed to let out.
"Hi, Captain Rogers," you smiled at him and he found himself returning the smile. "It's an honour to meet you."
"Please call me Steve." He rushed out and then bit his tongue.
"Steve," you repeated and you were about to turn your head to talk to the Stark Industries worker when Steve stopped you.
"You're Y/N, right? You have a meeting with Pepper."
"Yeah I am, how did you-"
"I will take you to her." He turned to the worker and nodded briefly, "it's fine."
"Captain, I need her to sign in first-"
"The captain said we are okay here." You looked behind you to find a blonde agent that you recognized from the TV as Sharon. She looked at you for a moment, looked behind you, and then she sent you a small smile.
"I'll walk you up, is that okay?" you looked back at him again and you nodded, you didn't know why but those blue eyes seemed so… kind. Your nerves were already put at bay because he started talking to you.
"Yes, thank you Steve." You smiled at him again before he walked you back to the elevator.
When the doors closed you broke the silence, for some reason you could feel his nerves rise- you could see it in him, in the small ticks. "Don't you have other stuff you should do?"
He laughed a bit at that and you called that a win. Steve thought back to the day he met you.
"Yeah, but you seem much nicer."
"How can you tell if I'm nice or not? I never said I was nice, maybe I am mean and evil."
"No offence, kid, but you don't seem too threatening to me," You scoffed at him, and you didn't know why the chemistry between you was so natural, but you didn't care.
"How can you be so sure? I could be threatening, or I could even be a spy!" you raised an eyebrow at him when he laughed again, this time harder.
"I could still take you down if you are, it's easy." He had a shit eating grin on his face that you didn't like. Steve was waiting for you to retort back.
"Oh just fuck off!" you shook your head but then you burst out laughing when Steve replied, you were so much brighter and he loved it.
"Language."
He missed you so much.
You felt a bit lightheaded as Steve walked you through the halls, you walked with him as he told you that he will take you to the kitchen. It was eerily empty. The couches seemed so inviting and the floor to ceiling windows showed a stunning view that you could stand there and watch all day, now you wished that you didn't have the interview because all you wanted to do was stay right where you were.
Steve was worried about you though.
"Hey, are you okay? Is this too much for you?" He asked and you furrowed your eyebrows when you saw the concern in his eyes.
"It's fine, I am probably just worried about the meeting with Mrs. Potts, that must be why I have a headache." You ignored his other question and while it did seem odd to you how easy he interacted with you, you didn't question it- he always seemed kind on TV.
"Come on, I will get you some water from the kitchen."
When you entered the kitchen you realized where you actually were.
"Is this the Avengers' private quarters?" Steve faltered for a bit and when words failed him he decided to just nod. He cleared his throat before turning to you with a glass of water.
"You really didn't have to bring me here, I would hate to waste your time and intrude!" you took a sip. "I also don't want to be late for my meeting, which I already am…"
At the cringe in your voice he pulled out his phone and texted Tony about your situation, making sure no one will be around you just yet in case you will get overwhelmed. He couldn't know how the spell Odin put on you would respond to that.
"I talked to Pepper, don't worry about that, you don't need to worry when you are with me." He looked serious enough that you nodded and continued sipping on the water, you could already feel the headache fade away, Steve continued. "And you can feel comfortable here, I'm sure you will get the job so you will be here a lot- if you want, that is."
"Why would I be here?" Steve wanted to curse at himself for saying too much, of course you didn't know that detail- you shouldn't know that. Hell, you probably didn't know the details of what you will do- Tony could have bullshitted anything to get you to come here even when you had no reason for being chosen.
He couldn't help himself, he felt as if nothing has changed by the way you act and talk around him, but it was hard to remember that a lot has changed for him.
"Well, umm you see- it's in the job description- working for Pepper and all, it just makes sense that you will be here too because she is here a lot." He stuttered when you still had a look of confusion on your face, your head tilting a bit, you couldn't quite place him. "And also- Tony, they are husband and wife of course and- and he might need help too. Stark Industries is his after all so, that is what I meant, that's all."
"Okay…" you tentatively replied, noticing the blush that came up his flustered cheeks. He was trustworthy, so it is probably true. "I guess that I don't actually know why I am here- but this is an opportunity that I couldn't miss out on. I don’t know why he chose me or how he even knows me but- I want to be here, I just do."
The words seemed distant from you, and you looked to the ground not noticing the small relaxed smile Steve let out.
"Well, I'm sure you will fit right in here. Let's get you to Pepper then."
His smile only prompted your own and you let him take you to her, hopefully this will be a new start for you, and hopefully it will also quiet the small tingles you started getting in your head ever since you got that letter.
A month later you woke up to an alarm clock. You turned to your side and stopped yourself when your hand went forward. The alarm drew you out of your thoughts and you twisted around again to turn it off. You got up to start your day before you had to go to work.
You looked at your wardrobe before you decided to try out the shirt you got yesterday you couldn't help but buy it. It was in this beautiful shade of green that you were compelled to get it. You paired it with a tight black skirt and walked to your dresser. Opening it, you noticed a glimmer shining from the daylight that came through your window. You got out all the boxes and stuff that was blocking whatever it was from your view- you really needed to clean all of it, but you didn't care- you just wanted to get to that small box.
Like you thought- it indeed was a box. It was old, the golden glaze of it darkened but it was still beautiful.
"Now where did you come from?" you wondered aloud and you sat on your bed when you decided to open the delicate box. It was a bit heavy in your hand, you didn't know what it was made of but it seemed unreal- it was so naturally out of place with its beauty. You opened it slowly and in there you found a necklace, it was golden and unlike the box it was still shining. The symbol engraved onto it seemed so familiar and yet you could not remember where it is from, it was different from anything you have seen before, you must have bought it ancients ago. You must have. It took your breath away when you picked it up, so you needed air. You went out into your living room and there you sat on the couch, staring at it. Your mind was racing, no- it was searching- you didn't know what for, and tingles spread throughout your whole body.
You put it on and fiddled with it, the light weight of it on your chest was comforting as it lay right next to your heart.
You didn't notice the smile that lit up your face until you looked into the mirror before getting out of the door and heading to the Avengers tower.
Loki prepared himself as he walked the Bifrost leading to where Heimdall stood. He tried to calm his breathing and his racing heart, he felt as if he was going to pass out from the nerves. He just needed to get this over with fast.
Heimdall did not acknowledge the solemn look on the prince's face as he got ready to go to earth. He barely bothered to hide the dark circles beneath his eyes that could only be described as numb. With the black suit he was wearing one would think he was grieving, and maybe in a way- he was.
Loki fixed himself to stand up straighter and got ready for his journey. All he planned to do was go to the Tower, just to check on how everything has wrapped up quickly before leaving, and maybe in a way he wanted to be there one last time and see other people who are also living a life without you.
He nodded briefly to Heimdall and in a few second he was in the Avengers Tower, right on the top of it. He took the elevator down and when he didn't see anyone in the living room he called out to the AI and asked for Steve's location. He was a few floors down rather than in the Avengers' quarters.
He took the stairs down. The hall room was fairly empty. Different elevators stopped at the floor that was a pass-through to the Avengers center from the Stark Industries. At the other end of the floor there was a balcony that looked over the skyline of the daylight, it will be easier to call for Heimdall from there- it will be faster.
He walked forward and saw Steve and Natasha leaning against the main desk of the security guard.
He nodded to Steve when he spotted him, but Steve's eyes only widened when he saw the god.
"Loki."
"Hello, Captain." He nodded to Natasha who had the same surprised look on her face. "Ms. Romanoff."
"Loki what are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to come here to check how you were dealing with the group that took the weapons." The group that took you. Loki smiled shortly.
"Loki you should probably go-" the blond suggested and went towards Loki to try and lead him backwards to where he came from. Before Loki could question him, the redhead spoke up.
"Y/N is here, she is on her way here." Loki looked at Natasha and then at Steve who was standing in front of him.
"What?" Loki stammered, "Does she-"
"No, she doesn't know a thing, I promise." The god studied the soldier, his eyes sharper now.
"Then why is she coming here?"
"We hired her a month ago, so she could work here and we will see her." Natasha explained simply, blunt as always. He was thankful for that right now but he sent daggers towards Steve.
"I thought we had an agreement- that you understood."
"We didn't know you were coming. I do understand, and I promise that she is still safe, and she is having a peaceful happy life- she works for Pepper, not with us directly." Steve was quick to reply. "It was just too hard to say goodbye."
"You were not the only one who had to say goodbye." Loki's eyes were blank and Steve could see the hurt that seeped through. "But well then, I should go. I'm happy you got her back."
Steve stopped him when Loki moved to walk towards the balcony at the other end of the floor.
"Loki, you can come back too." Steve sighed, trying to get the god to agree to come back- he saw you being happy, but he also saw how you were lost- just lacking something a bit, he knew Loki was that something.
"No, I cannot. I'm a god- I could never give her the peace she deserves." Loki shook his head and lowered his blue eyes. He passed Steve and walked ahead when the elevator dinged and he looked up at the same time as you got out of it and walked towards Steve. When your eyes met his you stopped in your place.
Loki always loved when you wore his colours and now here you were- wearing his colours when you did not even know him. Only a couple of feet away, you stood in front of him and the world stood still.
You got out of the elevator and were walking towards Steve when you saw the person that was just a few steps away, in front of you. You were in the middle of the hall and yet you couldn't move yourself away, you couldn't stop staring at him.
You knew him, how couldn't you? You knew he wasn't from here, but he was different- it wasn't because you knew he was a god, but rather the feeling that came along with him and it felt as if it sucked you in.
You tried to snap out of it and you could suddenly breathe again.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to stare," you looked up again at the god who kept staring at you. Loki's eyes were wide, scared, in awe of finally seeing you again. Of seeing you not recognizing him. Before your mind could catch up you continued. "I'm Y/N."
You stretched your hand and walked forward a bit, waiting for him to shake your hand as you now stood a mere step apart. You got nervous when he didn't shake it, why did you want to shake his hand in the first place? You did not know.
Before you could take your hand back, his cold hand squeezed yours and you relaxed again, smiling shyly at him.
"It's nice meeting you." It's like you could see it all inside the shade of blue in his eyes when he smiled back.
He caught sight of the necklace you were wearing and he looked back up at you.
"That's a beautiful necklace." He said and you blushed at the compliment, his voice affected you in a way it probably shouldn't. You then realized you were still holding his hand and you took it back and fiddled with the necklace instead. You didn't see the hurt and disappointment in Loki's eyes when he too lowered his hand.
"Yeah, it's really pretty- I found it and I guess I just forgot where it came from," you looked back up at Loki who had an unreadable expression on his face and you didn't know why but- "but I still love it."
Loki swallowed and tried to form words while your own words were affecting him in ways you didn't even know.
You didn't know why you were so affected by him, he was so beautiful and your heart was speeding up and yet you felt so calm now, so relaxed, so- whole? You didn't want to break whatever it was that you felt right now, too curious by this feeling to recognize the two avengers that stood a couple of feet behind Loki.
"I heard you were working here, do you like it here?" he looked at you fondly, he just had to ask- he had to know that you really were happy like this, even if he is not in your life.
"Yeah, I do. I am so happy that I get to work here with Pepper!" you smiled at him, tucking your hair behind your ears.
"I'm happy to hear that, then. It's good that you are happy."
"The job is amazing," you chuckled. "But if you decide to throw another invasion, I hope you will think of me, I'd love to be your right hand woman."
He laughed and you treasured that look, you liked his laugh.
"As you wish, darling." He needed to let you move on, but he didn't know how to say it. "I won't keep you any longer, and I should go, but- it was enchanting to meet you, love."
You frowned at that, not wanting him to go. But you still had a silver of hope left inside you that maybe he will come back again.
"I hope I'll see you again, Loki." You smiled at him and he returned the smile. He looked you up and down, smiling softly at you again, before he did the hardest thing he had to do and walked past you.
You turned to watch him go, yet your mind was screaming something incoherent at you as if he was slipping away from your reach.
Loki walked out into the balcony with a heavy heart, but at least he got to see you again one last time, at least he got to see you smile and hear you laugh one last time. At least he knew you were happy now, and at least he got to call you his love one last time. He looked back at you as he got taken away and he found comfort he hadn't gotten before in your smile. And he knew it will be okay.
You still looked at him when you saw him get taken away by the bifrost, and smiled when he sent you one last look.
Then you turned your head back, touching the golden necklace again you smiled to yourself and stepped forward.
"She lost him, but she found herself, and somehow that was everything."
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"I'll be back," Bucky said, ruffling Steve's hair. "Don't worry."
"Bucky, it's war. I have a right to worry."
The newly drafted soldier tried to fake a smile, but his boyfriend saw right through it. Luckily, he had the perfect thing to cheer him up.
Steve pulled a small metal object out of his pocket. He held it out to Bucky, who took it.
"What's this?" he said, inspecting it. It was a seemingly blank dog tag, save for three symbols pressed into the metal: S + B.
"Do you like it? I figured a picture of me would be too risky, and this way, you can make up any girls name that starts with S—,"
He was cut off by Bucky crushing him in a hug. Steve tried to hold the tears back but gave up when he heard Bucky sniffling. They held each other as they broke down. Bucky pressed his nose into Steve's hair, eyes squeezed shut. He hated crying, but it was an almost inevitable action. In a few minutes, he would be leaving the best part of his life behind to fend for himself in a city full of danger and disease. Meanwhile, he would be off fighting in a war that he didn't actually want to fight, with a slim chance of returning.
"Bucky... you need to go."
He shook his head profusely. "No..."
"Buck," Steve's voice cracked. "I'll be okay."
The brunette shook with emotion, but slowly pulled out of the embrace. He tucked the tag into his front pocket before turning back to Steve. He held his face in his hands. The couple shared a kiss mixed with salty tears.
Bucky pulled away only slightly, so that their lips still brushed when he spoke. "I love you, Stevie."
"I love you, too, Bucky."
///
He tucked behind a tree. Knowing his chances of survival were close to none, Bucky pulled out the dog tags that were tucked beneath his uniform. He ran his fingers over the extra tag on the chain, feeling the gentle bumps of the 'S + B'.
A bullet flew by, mere inches from Bucky's ear. He aimed his gun, but another soldier in his unit put a hand on his arm and shook his head.
"It's not worth it, Barnes. We're surrounded."
Hesitantly, Bucky lowered his gun to the ground. He held up his hands in surrender, as did the remaining soldiers of the 107th.
///
He was tossed into a dark, muddy cell with several of his comrades.
"We'll get out of here, men. Don't worry," Bucky said, trying his best to be a leader. He clutched the dog tags in his hand.
Yet months went by, and one by one, the men were dragged off. They never returned. Bucky spent his time reading and re-reading the words and numbers on his tags, spending extra time on the one from Steve.
This went on until one day, a German soldier approached the cell. He looked around until he landed on Bucky. He pointed. "You. Up."
///
When Bucky awoke, he was cold and in pain. He tried to sit up, but a strap over his chest and arms pinned him down.
Looking around him, he found that he was in a lab room of some sort. It was dark, so he couldn't make out much, but he seemed to be alone. That didn't last long.
A door clanged open, and three men walked in. Bucky didn't recognize any of them. They spoke amongst each other in German, before one walked up to the table that Bucky laid on. He was a rather short, middle-aged man, with round glasses.
"Trial number 310," he spoke in a thick accent, reading off of a clipboard. "James Buchanan Barnes, 26. Good history of health. Let's hope this one works."
He squinted when a bright lamp above the table was switched on. Before he could realize what was happening, a needle was pressed into his foremen. Within two minutes, he was passed out.
Apparently, "this one" did work, because Bucky remained on that table for another two weeks. At various points in the day, he was poked, prodded, and injected. They didn't always put him under for the tests. When those times came, Bucky forced himself to remember, despite the hunger and pain eating away at him. He ran through what he had memorized; his ID numbers, his full name, his station. Most importantly, he remembered Steve.
Steven Grant Rogers. 25, born and raised in Brooklyn. The best damn artist I've ever known. My boyfriend.
Steven Rogers. Brooklyn. Artist. Boyfriend.
Steve. Artist. Boyfriend.
Steve. Boyfriend.
Steve.
Steve?
///
He mumbled the codes. He had long since forgotten what they meant, but he knew they were important.
S. That one letter rang out in his mind, but he didn't know why.
The metal door swung open once again.
No. No, not again, he thought. One more round and I'll forget him completely. S- Steph? Sam?
But his confusion shifted when he saw the man that approached the table this time. He was different, but familiar.
That's not him, is it? No, it can't be—
"Bucky?"
Oh, shit, it's him.
"S- Steve? Steve."
The blond undid the straps and helped Bucky off the table. He took in his boyfriend, although he couldn't quite believe what he was seeing.
Steve spoke first. "I thought you were dead."
"I thought you were smaller."
The world was at war around them, but the reunited couple stood there, smiling like twitterpated idiots.
"Steve," Bucky cried as he collapsed into his boyfriend's impressive biceps. What the hell happened to the skinny kid he had left behind?
"I've got you, Buck. I'm here." Steve pressed a kiss to Bucky's forehead. "Can you walk?"
"Um—,"
Steve scooped him up anyways. "We need to go."
He ran out of the room with his exhausted boyfriend in his arms. Bucky rested his head against Steve's chest.
"I missed you, Stevie."
Steve glanced down, his expression warm and full of emotion. "I missed you, too, Bucky."
He kissed his forehead once more before continuing at full speed out of the building, and back into the battle.
///
*One week later*
Side by side, they walked into the base. There was applause was the other soldiers realized what was going on.
Agent Carter and Colonel Phillips approached them. As Steve filled them in, Bucky glanced around. Something about the cheering bothered Bucky. None of these men gave a damn about Steve before he got all big and strong. And then all of the sudden, he was a celebrity.
"Hey!" he yelled. "Let's hear it for Captain America!"
And there it was, even louder this time. This support was for Captain America, not Steve Rogers.
Bucky stepped forward so that he was right next to Steve. He took his hand, causing Steve to turn his attention back to him. They shared an affectionate smile.
///
Later that day, Steve and Bucky were alone in a private cabin. Steve had explained their relationship to Peggy and she had sorted it all out.
They sat on the couch in their favorite cuddling position, with one straddling the other, arms wrapped around each other. Except this time, their usual roles were swapped. For one, Bucky was now smaller than Steve, so it made more sense. Two, Bucky needed a little extra comfort. It had only been a week since he got out of the torturous room.
So, Bucky sat on Steve's lap with his face nestled in his neck. They were both exhausted, so Bucky simply placed slow, lazy kisses on Steve's soft skin. In return, Steve traced his fingers up and down Bucky's back.
"How are you feeling, doll?" Steve asked.
"Like I just came back from hell." They were quiet for a moment. "Steve?"
"Mhm?"
"I just want you to know, that you're the most important person in my life. I don't think I would've survived back there if I didn't have thoughts of you keeping me alive. You're a hero to the whole country now. I don't know exactly what this means for us, but I do know that... that even before, when you were skinny little Steve... you were my hero. I don't think I tell you often enough how much I appreciate you."
Steve hugged Bucky even tighter. "I won't let anything happen to you again, or to us. I'm with you till the end of the line."
Reposters, and a thread on why they are more harmful than anything especially on Instagram
First off, let's put the bases down: what is a reposter? A reposter is someone (usually on Instagram) who will take a screenshot of the art and repost it on their page, crediting or not the original artist. Their page will so contain only artwork that isn't from them, and will add captions to fit their theme.
So, how is harmful?
Because unlike what you might think, it doesn't bring any attention to the artist. Nor help them grow in popularity. What they are doing is stealing likes and popularity on the back of artists to fit their theme because they usually don't want to draw and are a roleplay account, and like to repost art they see on Pinterest.
The artist barely get any view from this, actually. Because a majority of people finding the post of the reposter won't bother following the artist and just like and follow the reposter and thus, not giving the views to the original artist.
Reposters also may not credit, or may not want to credit the artist because of laziness, usually, or because they think crediting the rightfully creator the art they stole and reposted is wrong and that they are in their right.
A small example of this.
Here the first picture is from a repost account I took completely randomly from the eddsworld hashtag. You can see it has a lot of attraction. The account is near 10k which is quite a lot. They took the time to add credit, which is a good thing, but it won't sadly solve the biggest issue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which is that the original artist has half the views and interaction as the original post. Which is very alarming, don't you think?
(Art rightfully owned by the talented @dditjmej , and I really ask you to follow and support their content if you appreciate it)
Tumblr media
This is the biggest problem about repost, the reposter gets more interaction than the artist and the artist only has a small portion of the reposter's followers that will actually like the original post. Because why bother following each artist when there's someone stealing art and reposting it for you to like on the platform you're on?
People might say that it is necessary to bring art on other medias than only the original one where the artist post, but if you really liked and supported the artist you would promote their page and invite people to follow them on the platform, not repost it.
This is literally like website stealing content from small creators and making money off of them and still saying "But we are crediting! We are doing nothing wrong!" It doesn't help the artist and actually harm them more than anything.
And I will add that some artists don't want to see their art reposted or don't want to see it on internet anymore for any reason, and reposters, often finding it by Pinterest and not caring, will repost it anyway and be even more wrong because they clearly went against the artist's will, and you cannot pretend you support someone while going against what they say.
This is the end of the thread, and for those who read it til here, I hope it taught you something, if you already didn't know.
─────────────────
Your neighbor, Sungho, from the day you've moved in has kept you up countless nights with their significant other. Dancing, muffled long conversations, and amongst other noises you wished you could wipe from memory. One day it suddenly stops. These days become months. Now, you couldn't help but to be concerned.
Sungho isn't a bad neighbor. You recall complaining to him at some point, amidst trying to focus on a report you had to write up for work, and he apologized for the noise. Many times. He seemed embarrassed, never realizing how thin the walls were in the apartment building, and promised to keep the noise levels down. These promises would last only about a week. Their significant other was quite the complete opposite of Sungho, a loud individual. From what you were aware, the two didn't live together. His significant other would come over daily to stay or visit.
As much as they were loud, they didn't seem to like you either. Looks of disdain thrown whenever you happen to cross them in the hallway, being in the same elevator cart, or when Sungho was trying to be a good neighbor by greeting you. They would pull him away immediately, putting his attention back on them. Sometimes you thought that they were being loud on purpose, knowing that you were next door, and very well aware of the complaints. The reason why? You had no idea. The best guess you could come up with was that they saw you as a threat to their relationship. Which was ridiculous. You hardly knew the male nor could the both of you call each other friends.
Sometimes Sungho left fruits or drinks at your door with little notes of apologies for their rowdiness. And for their significant other's behavior. For the most part, you bared through it or simply did all your work within the hours at your office now and prayed that tiredness would consume you once you hit your bed, blocking out any disturbances.
So, life goes on.
One weekend, you just happened to get home from going out with your friends. It was late, past midnight. You heard arguing through the walls between Sungho and their significant other.
"You're always like this, Sungho!"
Immediately, you felt very uncomfortable entering your apartment. It wasn't something you wanted to hear or should be hearing. Not that you could help it either since you lived next door. You backed yourself outside, considering going to the balcony on the floor for a bit. Stepping back outside of your door, their argument becomes muffled.
Why couldn't the landlord just keep the damn wall consistency the same?
Suddenly, Sungho's door flies open followed by their significant other storming out. You jump up out of surprise, the noise scaring you. They're heading down the hallway, to the elevators, without looking back. Sungho appears at his door not too long after, holding it open.
"Wait-" he calls out to them, his voice faltering.
The male notices you then, staring with wide eyes at him. At that moment, you were able to get a full picture of his current position. The hurt in his eyes.
"Oh...y/n. Are you here to complain about the noise again? I'm really sorry-"
"Uh, no! No, not at all. See, I just was returning home now. Don't worry about it," you said, awkwardly blinking a few times, reaching to grab for your keys from your bag once again.
"Um, I'm heading inside now! Okay, bye!"
You immediately opened your door again, rushing, running into your living room. The door shuts behind automatically and you let out a sigh of relief. You felt bad for suddenly running away, but you weren't about to ask or give relationship advice if Sungho wasn't asking for it. Besides, what if it was only a lover's quarrel?
They'll probably make up soon. Talk about a rough night…
Then the realization set in. The apartment would be definitely quiet for at least another day. A smile rises to your face.
What a horrible thing to be happy over...after seeing your neighbor fight with their significant other. Then again, they weren't all that nice to me.
You shrugged, waving the events aside, calling it a night, enjoying the peaceful silence...only with the slight remaining, lingering tension in the air. After you showered, brushed your teeth, and changed into pajamas, you immediately laid down on your bed. Pulling the covers over, you found yourself thinking. Staring up to the ceiling of your room in the dark.
That argument sounded bad though...ugh. None of your business, y/n. Go to sleep. They'll probably be fine tomorrow…
─────────────────
Define the term "fine".
The next day, as you predicted, was quiet. That you could hear a pin drop from down the hallway. You enjoyed it, a Sunday afternoon peace. It allowed you to catch up on work, eat, watch T.V, write poetry...overall without any disturbances. Sungho, your neighbor, was long forgotten from your mind.
The thing is, it goes on for the next week. You weren't worried about it at all because you were swamped with work. The next reports and presentations came with close deadlines. The silence was appreciated, allowing you to focus; you got lost in piles of work and many cups of coffee.
Worry about your neighbor only returned on the brief encounters when the both of you were heading to work in the mornings. Sungho still greeted you, but only with a brief nod and face expressionless. They would walk ahead first, not bothering to see even if you returned the greeting or not. Sometimes you heard him leaving earlier than you and now you couldn't help but to wonder what his occupation was.
The week turns into two and three. He stops greeting you at some point, or maybe he wasn't very aware of his surroundings; his whole aura was different. Sungho usually would at least do his hair before going out and dress somewhat decently. Now it was always a mess, his bangs left down to cover his eyes, matching with black attire. You saw him up close in his current condition when you were returning to the apartment building one afternoon. The male had collided into you, by accident. Turning around immediately on the impact, once you had regained your balance, you're faced with eyes that were written with sleepless nights, dark circles prominent. At least, this time, he mumbles an apology before moving on.
By the time it reaches the end of the month, your workload becomes lighter for the year, you find more time thinking about the current situation of your neighbor. You called up one of your best friends at your workplace one night. It wasn't the first time you discussed your neighbor with them.
"Yoojung, it's the end of the month. I haven't seen his significant other in awhile. As much as I enjoy the silence, I hate seeing Sungho this dead," you said, a hand gripping onto the balcony railing out of nervousness.
“Note check. You don’t even know the guy. Why exactly are you so worried?” Yoojung on the other end replies.
Your friend had a point. Why were you worried?
“Well…I don’t have an answer, actually. I don’t know why I’m worried. Can’t I just be a good neighbor?” you replied.
“It’s none of your business, y/n. Looking at reality. But if you’re so worried, go knock on his door and talk to him. Even if it’s just a hello. Didn’t he leave you fruits before? You can do that in return if you’re so curious,” Yoojung suggested, not sounding all that interested.
“Anyways, you’re coming to the group outing for dinner next week right? On Saturday? Please tell me you didn’t forget or you plan on cancelling. We hardly ever get a chance for everyone to come together again.”
“Alright, thanks so much for the advice...I guess...and keep your pants on, Yoojung. Of course I’m coming. Good night,” you scowled at him.
You hung up the phone then, not giving a chance for the other to say his goodbye. As much as he was your best friend, he could be a pain in the ass. Turning around, you exited out the balcony to return back to your apartment for the day.
So much for calling it a night.
Once you make it back, you’re greeted with Sungho at your door, hunched over, using an arm to keep his weight up against the wall. First thought that came to mind: he’s unwell and he came to ask you for help? You immediately approach the male, only to be hit by a smell of alcohol and you jolt back. The second thought you had, only confirmed: he’s drunk.
“Sungho?! Are you okay?” you asked nervously, tapping his shoulder lightly.
The male looks up to you, quite confused.
“y/n? Oh. Yeah...I’m fine. Just trying to get into my apartment...but the key.... doesn’t seem to fit…” Sungho said, words spoken slowly as he tries to stand upright.
“Did...the landlord change the locks?”
“No, no. The landlord didn’t. You’re at the wrong apartment, this one is mine. Uh, do you need help?” you said, raising an eyebrow at him.
“Ah...well, that makes...sense now,” Sungho said, a drunk written smile appearing on his face.
“No, it’s okay...I’m always disturbing you... I’m really sorry...Have...a good night, y/n.”
It’s the first time you’ve seen him smile in such a long time. Of course, it only happens to be when he’s not sober. Also, you’re very aware that drunk people do need help but always deny it. You watch as he turns around, folding your arms and counting down in your head.
3... 2...1
The male collapses on the ground, completely knocked out from the alcohol in his system. You blew up at your hair, huffing then, staring down at his figure on the ground.
This night just got a whole lot longer.
"Jaemin! Come hereeeee"
A few seconds later, a confused Jaemin appears by the door. You smile up at him, beckoning him to come closer to you. The man didn' say anything, following your command and taking a seat infront of your vanity mirror
"I wanna try something" you tell him, he raises a brow at you but you just smile at him. Taking something out from the drawer before closing it shut then you turn to him. Straddling his lap and making yourself comfortable there.
"Not that I'm complaining, but what are we doing exactly?" he asks, you grab his face gently with one hand making his lips do a pout.
You giggle at his expressions, leaning down to give him a quick peck. Jaemin quick to chase your lips but you hold him still
"I'm going to put mascara on you" you tell him, then he sees what you're holding with your other hand
"What is that? That looks like a torture device"
"It's a lash curler, not that you need it. Your lashes are already pretty but I wanna see what it looks like" you tell him, again you grab his face gently before tilting it upwards
"Don't poke my eyes out"
"I'm not gonna poke your eyes out, do you not trust your girlfriend?"
"I trust you with just about anything but that thing looks scary" he mumbles, eyes automatically closing.
"Don't close your eyes, do this" you show him how and where to look while you curl his lashes, "See that didn't hurt. Now for the mascara"
"Okay now what is that? That looks like something you will definitely poke my eyes with"
"Stop moving and I won't, come here" you tell him, face serious. This got Jaemin to sit still for a couple of seconds while you do your thing.
"And done! You look pretty" he can feel you blow on his eyes, "You're prettier" he mumbles before opening his eyes to find indeed the most beautiful sight in front of him
"Gosh, I want your lashes" you tell him, putting down the mascara on the vanity behind him before throwing your arms around his neck to embrace him
"Our kids will have the prettiest lashes" you tease him, the thought of a mini you making Jaemin smile. "Our kid will be the most beautiful baby if they will look like you" he tells you
"But I want them to look like you, that way I'll have more Jaemin's" you tell him excitedly, it's crazy and exciting but also the truth.
If the universe grants you your ultimate wish then one day you'll wake up with the love of your life beside you, in your home, with the family the two of you made. Of course there's only one person you see that future with.
"You look in love" he says with the most smitten look on his face to. "In love with you, I want to brainwash you into loving me forever" you tell him, rubbing your nose against his
He catch the reference behind your words, "No need to do that, my love. You're the only one for me, I'm so in love with you I might stop breathing"
You laugh at the last part, then you continue on telling your plans for the night while Jaemin stands up from his seat with you still on his. He carries you while you clung to him like a panda, the two of you walk down the hallway.
"Okay, swiftie. What do you say we have a movie night tonight? I bought these cute face masks yesterday, we can try them out. Oh also I got your favorite snacks..."
"Hey can you pass me the salt?" Jaehyun said, holding his hand out expecting you to hand him the salt. A few seconds passed, surely it wouldn't be hard to hand him the salt since it's just right beside you.
Wondering what was taking you so long, he looks over at you only to see you already looking at him with this goofy grin on your face.
Instantly he mirrors your smile, internally gushing how cute you looked. If only there was an award for being the most smitten husband, Jaehyun's sure he'd have that award in the bag.
"What's with that look?" he asks you, a smirk on his lips. Loving how smitten you looked, nothing but love in your eyes. Love he knows is only for him and him only.
"Nothing, you just look hot right now" you tell him, getting the salt from the spice rack before passing it over to him. Pursing your lips as if to stop yourself from spilling the secret to him too early.
"I'm just cooking here peacefully and you're over there thirsting over me" he tells you, playfully pinching you on the side earning a yelp from you. When he stopped with his attacks, you stand on your tiptoe, hugging him sideways.
Jaehyun looks over you, rubbing his nose against yours before you close the gap between your lips. Loving the flavor of his chapstick, your favorite one. Jaehyun being the good husband, remembering that time he kissed you and you mentioned to him how you liked that flavor of chapstick so of course Jaehyun stocked up on that specific one.
You smile against his lips, kissing him for a few more seconds before stepping away.
"I say it's a good bargain, I'll go set up the table" you give him one more smooch before walking away. Jaehyun lets out a laugh, loving every domestic second of this life he shares with you. It's been a few years since the small intimate wedding, the two of you settled well.
You love your job and managing your now few shops, yes you have since then expanded your business. Some people would think marrying Jung Jaehyun made that possible but really it was all you, and Jaehyun's so proud of you for accomplishing all of that. He would never claim the success you earned by yourself, he's glad to be standing beside you cheering you on while you make your dreams into reality.
The best part of your day though would probably coming home to him. He's a busy man, managing his family's business, taking trips overseas and the extra long meetings but even then Jaehyun never made you feel like you weren't top of his priority list. When you asked him if it's okay to finally have that big wedding Johnny has been bugging you about (yes, he never gave it a rest) Jaehyun all but proposed to you again.
"So, everything's set for the wedding right? We didn't forget anything?" Jaehyun ask, stepping out of the bathroom after his shower to find you looking through the wedding planner notebook
"Nope, everything's all set. All you have to do is show up and say I do" you playfully answered, beckoning for him to come to you.
Like you had control over his body, Jaehyun steps towards you. Leaning down to capture your lips against his. He feels your arm go around his shoulder, pulling him down on the bed along with you. Careful not to crush you under him, he continues on kissing you like it was his only purposes in life.
When the two of you broke apart you had this smile on your face, "I have a secret to tell you" you whisper even though it's just the two of you
"Do tell, Mrs. Jung"
"Promise first it'll be our little secret for now" you say, holding out your pinkie for him to take. Jaehyun chuckles before linking his pinkie with yours. Kissing you on the nose, eliciting a giggle from you.
"I'm pregnant"
It felt like time stopped when he heard you say those words. You wait for him to say something, afraid he was mad because of the news you just told him but then he was off you, tugging you along with him.
"Say that again" he asks you, holding you an arms length away
"I'm pregnant" you mumble, about to burst out in tears then suddenly but gently he engulfs you in a hug. Kissing every surface of your skin he comes in contact with.
Jaehyun is over the moon.
He's going to be a dad, you're going to a mom. The you of you are going to be parents.
"Are you sure? How do you feel? Are you and the baby okay?" he asks
You laugh at his reaction, hugging him again. "Yes, I'm sure. I took like 20 tests. They're all in the guest bathroom cabinet. I feel okay now, but remember when I got sick last last week and I thought it was just a bad flu well turns out it wasn't. It's actually your kid causing it" you joke
"We're going to have a kid?"
You can't help but melt over your husband's words. He looks so excited and happy it's making you even more excited for this next chapter of your lives.
"Yes" you tell him and Jaehyun swears he just fell in love with you even more.
After that, Jaehyun demanded yes demanded cuddling time with you. So now the of you are in bed just talking about all random things to do in the future with your kid.
"Wait, so how long have you known?" he asks
"Two days, I was going to tell you before the wedding as a gift but I didn't want to freak you out too much so"
Jaehyun nuzzles his face on your neck as you explain to him how you found out. It still feels surreal you created another human being together, just thinking about you carrying his child gets him so excited for the future.
"Should we move?"
You haven't thought about that but now that he mentions it, it seems like a good idea. The penthouse has been your home since the two of you got married, since it was just the two of you the place has been more than enough.
"Should we? Is it a good time thought?" you ask back
"After the wedding we don't have anything to do, if it isn't too much trouble for you then I say why not. We'll need the extra space for the babies"
"You mean baby?"
"Babies, I'm preparing for the future" that earned him a playful punch.
"I haven't even given birth to this one and you're already planning the next one?"
"Baby, I'm willing to be the father of however many kids you want to carry. It will always be up to you, I'll just be here to hold your hand and give you everything you need"
"Even when I crave something so random and hard to find?" you ask him, Jaehyun looks back at you. Staring you directly in the eyes, communicating the words he isn't sure how to say. Just like just how much he's willing to do for you, if and when you ask him he'd go to the ends of the Earth if that's what you desire for him to do.
"Even then, love. Don't worry about wanting to anything. just say it and I'll get it for you okay?"
Kissing him again, there's really one thing you crave the most. Him.
"Just you"
Bad Blood
Loki x Reader
1989, chapter 8
"She made friends and enemies"
Summary: It's hard to find the one, but even if you do find him it's always going to be a daily struggle to make it work. Can you even make it work after he broke your heart? The answer to that is complicated, but it all started when you found each other again in the stark Tower- and that's where our story begins.
Word count: 4,601
Warnings: language, sexism if you squint, angst, torture(Bucky style with needles and blood and knives etc), and a little fluff- not in that order.
A/N: I'm sure you guys will hate me after this. Sorry in advance? I'm saying this again- remember the timeline from the last chapter and this one...
A/N 2: thank you for @peterbenjiparker for helping me outline this chapter! And thanks to @chrissquares for the dividers! And of course to @nacho-bucky for reading this over!
The pain in your head almost pulled you under and out of consciousness with the way your body felt heavy and all the- were they hands? That seemed to touch you. You shivered when you felt a spark of electricity travel through your body and your eyes shot open.
There was a blinding light directly from above you and both of your sides but after a couple of moments you managed to see through that. You saw the agents, the building, the chair you were seated in with equipment you did not know but you did not want to find out what they do. When they noticed you were awake, two men walked to you.
Mike was standing on the side, grinning, while the doctor from the warehouse seemed to look you over.
"And she is awake." His voice wasn't charming anymore, now it just sent red alarms in your brain. "She looks so cute asleep."
In a glare you looked at him and he fell to his knees in the agony that overtook him, his eyes were hazy and you wanted to make sure it hurt.
"Put her under!" the doctor yelled and a searing electrical pain ran through your body and instead of his yelling in the room, it was now filled with yours. You didn't hear anything anymore and then all you knew was black. Your body jolted in its place despite the restraints before it went limp.
"When are you guys going to solve the problem?" Doctor Zazu laughed at the remark.
"What problem?"
"Her powers, they are intense and harmful! When she wakes up again, this will keep happening!" the doctor looked at the young agent who was struggling to get up and shook his head, he was still young.
"That's not the problem- that is the solution!"
"How the hell is that a solution? We can't use her until we make her under our control." Mike looked over at you. "Besides, it took years to make the Soldat."
"We are making advances on detecting her powers, and with the new technology and knowledge that we have now, we will be able to overpower her. I doubt she will make such a fight, especially with what you've told me."
"She was quite fun, certainly worth working there for as much as I did."
"I'm glad you enjoyed her, now it's my turn to toy with that brain of hers." He stood at the railing and watched as agents prepared the room that will soon be yours, and the staff that stood proudly just outside of it.
Three months ago in Asgard…
"This is such a blessed day to unite the lovely couple!" Lady Iyllir's mother raised her glass during breakfast. It'd been mere hours since Loki knocked on her door and here he was sitting at the long table with his father and Iyllir with her family.
Glasses clunk against each other but they only made Loki wince when he came back to the reality of the situation.
"Indeed it is, I am glad we will be uniting the families soon enough," his father then looked at him. "And I am happy it worked out as it should've."
Loki couldn't speak against Odin. Your voice was haunting him and you were right- he could get away from this if he wanted to, but he can't. He needed this too much even if he didn't want it.
"We are so excited! Right, Loki?" the girl looked at him with bright eyes her ginger hair was just as bright. He nodded and spread a smile.
"Of course, my dear, I look forward to it." She gave him her hand and he was a proper prince after all, so he raised her hand to his lips and gave her knuckles a gentle kiss.
"When shall we do the wedding?" Iyllir's parents talked to Odin more than Loki and the girl who sat behind him.
"We could have it soon, I'm sure we are just as eager to have this wedding just as the two lovers are to getting married." The father talked to Odin.
"Actually, father-" Iyllir quipped up and he felt her hand tighten around his. "I thought we could have it a couple of months from now, the flowers will be the brightest then."
"Dear, don't be silly the flowers are still pretty now." Her mother shook her head at her.
Before she could go further, Loki spoke instead of the girl.
"Shouldn't the bride decide how her own wedding will be designed?" the mother in front of him smiled nervously.
"Of course, Prince Loki, you are right."
With this the conversation went into planning the wedding which left Loki only half listening.
"I want it to be golden, we can even have our clothes be of such too!" he heard her before zoning out of the conversation. Breakfast ended soon after, with a promise from Odin to send maidens that'll be at the Lady's disposal for any wedding idea she wants.
Loki was walking beside her in silence as he escorted her to her chambers.
"What made you change your mind?"
"Pardon me?"
"You didn't want me or this wedding before, so what changed your mind?" he was at a loss of words, not knowing how to answer that- he couldn't bring you up, but Iyllir was indeed clever so she must know already.
"I came to a few realizations lately, but I assure you that I want this marriage." She nodded to him with a smile and he decided to sway the conversation away from you, the redhead beat him to it.
"Thank you for standing up for me earlier." She took his hand in hers as they neared her room.
"Of course, I understand parents can be tough." She let out a huff at that. "I admire that you spoke up."
"My parents sure can be hard to deal with. They like to decide everything for me but one good thing they did was lead me to you." She giggled up at him and he couldn't help but think that she deserved someone who will actually love her, and he hoped for both of their sake that he will learn to do that with time, and time can heal almost everything right?
"Yes, now I will let you go rest."
"I hope I'll see you later."
The sting of the needle only grew when you resisted it, your body was shaking still trying to relax from the shock you were put through yet again.
Your eyes were hazy but you were more stubborn than to submit to pain.
"They will come for me, you know." You heard your own voice stumble out the words.
"You think the Avengers will come save you?" Doctor Zazu chuckled and your vision came back to reality. "How long will it take them though? By the time they manage to find you, you will have already become my new soldier."
You focused your stare at him, but before you could do anything he pushed a button that sent searing pain into your mind.
"Blue." You heard him say and it wasn't hard for you to guess what he meant.
"Tony, have you seen Y/N?" Tony raised his mask and looked over at Steve.
"I haven't seen her in a few days but it's alright we don't have missions now." He was about to return to fixing his suit. "Plus, she is probably shaking up with that new boyfriend of hers."
"Tony…" Steve groaned at it.
"She's an adult Steve, get used to it. She can fondue whoever she likes." He snickered at the supersoldier who only looked at him in a not amused look.
"It's been a couple of days Tony, I'm getting worried. She would tell me if she was going away- she never went away like this before."
Tony sighed at Steve's stressed face.
"Hey F.R.I.D.A.Y, do you know where Y/N is?" he called to the AI.
"I'm afraid I don't know, the last she has been in the building was a few days ago, she was in the garage and she took one of your cars alongside some of your wine bottles, sir."
"She did what now? I told her several times to not touch my cars." Tony got up from where he was sitting. "Okay, can you call her?"
A moment has passed before they got a reply.
"She is not answering, and it seems like she took out the tracker from her phone since I can't track her."
"You see Tony I have every reason to be worried!" Steve grew angry at the new information, he paced the lab. "F.R.I.D.A.Y where is Mike? The guy that Y/N was with"
"He has not showed up to work in a few days, on the same day Y/N drove away."
Silence took over the room. Tony looked at his friend's crestfallen face.
"I might know where she went to."
"What, where?"
"She has an apartment up in Brooklyn, I saved it for her."
"Why didn't I know about it?" Steve walked up to the billionaire who held his hands up in defense.
"She didn't want to tell anyone, she wanted it to be only hers. I only know it because she needed to buy it, so I bought the entire building."
"We are going now. Get Nat in one of your cars and I will go on my motorcycle." It was a command more than a request.
It didn't take them long to get to the building, Steve did not care about any traffic lights and Tony couldn't blame him. Natasha insisted that she drives faster than Tony and to her credit they arrived at the place at the same time Steve did.
It was eerily quiet and Tony used the scan on the door to open it. They reached inside and Natasha already had the clutch of her gun open,
"Y/N!" Cap called at the small apartment but no answer came. Tony spotted the two glasses in the living room, one full on the table and the other half empty on the floor next to the big red stain it left on the carpet.
"Cap," Tony put his hand on his shoulder and Steve turned and saw Natasha raising the fallen glass to her face and smelling the content of it.
"This is not good, boys."
"Blue." The words were distant.
"Five." You were fighting to stay awake.
"Airplane." No. You screamed, trying to get out of your head.
"No, I will not turn into one of your soldiers! I won't!" your eyes flashed to a group of guards and with your anger it took no time for them to fall screaming on the ground, they could barely move when you felt the pain in your head again and you were shot back inside your mind.
"Blue."
You didn't know how much time you've been in this chair, reality and fiction blurred as you eased in and out of your mind.
"I won't turn into your soldier." You repeated again and again every time the doctor played with you and let you be awake. You knew at this point it'll take a lot from you to use your abilities.
"Even if your little Avenger friends get here, you won't be theirs either."
"What?" you hated showing weakness but your inhibitions were low.
"Either you will become my soldier, or you won't be here at all." He laughed right at you and then looked at the scientists beside you. "Put her under again, restart her."
"No, please no." They pushed you back against the chair; put the mouth guard between your teeth, and you felt yourself sink into the numbness of the pain.
You were shivering next time you woke up, you still heard those familiar words.
The machine they put you in was now rusted, at the moment you had clear mind you picked up the discarded needle on the side of where you lay. You were weak but you won't go down without a fight.
You lay there silently until the next agent came next you. Attacking them, you took the needle and stabbed them right in the throat, red blood started pouring but before you could pull out the agent's gun another agent came and their knife made a really deep cut. You looked up at chocolate brown eyes that now only held darkness when you fell to the floor and other agents lifted you up and restrained you.
"Look what you've done! What happened baby? You never put up such a fight from what I remember." Mike mocked you, you really thought he could be trusted. You were certainly wrong when he pressed on your fresh bloody wound. "At least, not in bed."
"Don't worry, she can fight all she wants, the wounds that we will leave on her pretty little brain will last and they'll last no matter what you'll try to do." You recognized the voice of their commander.
"So, did your parents name you after the parrot from Aladdin or the traitor from Othello?" you snickered at him "Then again I don't think you're smart enough to read such a high level literature, all due respect Commander Iago. And don't even get me started on the good doctor over there."
"Oh don't think you have the upper hand here, see we know something you don't. Did you ever bother checking where your powers came from? I'm sure the great Tony Stark tried, but while he failed we didn't. So we are already smarter than your avenger friends!"
You were taken aback by that, whatever created those powers within you always remained as a mystery in your head. But if they knew that, then they know a way inside of your brain and powers that you don't want to imagine.
"Well then, if you are so sure that I will never get out of here- why not share the knowledge with me?"
"We never said that you'll never get out of here, trust me," he stroked your jaw and his hand went down to your throat. Disgust blossomed in your stomach. "We have quite a plan for you if you'll get rescued, I'm sure your friends will appreciate the surprise."
Your heart hammered in your chest, mind racing with possibilities.
"Give her a dose then send her to her new special room." He stepped away and then a needle was inserted in you again, pumping blue strange liquid into you, your mind was hazy with its heaviness, and you barely remembered being put inside a sealed room. You saw a blue glow from outside of the transparent room, barely seeing the long stick and cords that ran from it. Then a blinding light flashed in the room and you felt yourself sinking, sinking inside your own mind.
The light was bright as it shone from your window. Curiousity got the better of you and you almost got blinded by the light outside until it stopped and you could see clearly again. There in through the light Loki stood in some quiet unusual clothing but that all changed with a glowing green glimmer of light and he was in regular clothes looking like the Loki you knew.
You stood there by the window with wide eyes but you couldn't seem to move as you were frozen in place trying to understand the lucid dream that occurred right before your eyes in your empty street.
A knock on the door caused you to shriek and you stumbled down to the ground, looking at the door.
"Y/N dear, are you okay? I can hear you inside." Loki's voice called out to you when you have yet to open the door.
Gathering up the courage you walked to the door and slowly opened it, willing yourself to look normal.
"Hello Loki, hello." You mentally cringed at your awkwardness.
"Are you okay? I heard something falling." He walked into your apartment casually while you were trying to gather up your thoughts.
"Yes, I'm- I'm okay. How are you?" you closed the door and locked it, facing away from him.
"I'm alright, thank you for asking." Loki looked at your form still standing by the door. "Why are you acting strange?"
"I am always strange, you should know that," you turned to him and briefly met his eyes before you made a move to go to the kitchen. "Do you want water? I'll bring us some water."
Loki caught your wrist and turned you to him.
"Are you mad at me for something? Come on, out with it. You know I always find out what you're hiding." He laughed that beautiful laugh of his and looked at you again when you were quiet. "Come on, you can tell me anything, you know that."
He let go of your hand when you still didn't answer and looked at the ground. Deciding to let it go he walked towards your kitchen.
"I'll get you a cup of water then-"
"Why are you glowing?" you winced when your voice was too loud for your liking.
"What?" you turned to him.
"You can glow, like a lamp or something. You glow-" you didn't know how to explain what you saw. "I saw you glow outside!"
"Oh." You almost felt bad at your accusation when you saw his face fall. "Well I guess there's no point in hiding it anymore- I am not who or what you think I am. I'm sorry I lied to you, do you want me to leave?"
"No! I don't want you to leave Loki, of course I don't want you to leave." He looked at you strangely and you looked at him back, a silent chuckle leaving your lips at his absurd question. "No don't leave, can you just tell me what's going on? Please."
Loki studied you then as he saw all the nerves leave you, or at the very least the fear that he dreaded seeing in your eyes.
"Very well," you've never seen Loki this nervous before. "You might want to sit down for this."
You sat down on one side on the couch and pouted when Loki chose to sit on the far side of the couch, away from you.
The talk was long to say the least, and you couldn't tell who it was harder to.
"I can make you forget all about this if that'll make it easier for you." Loki told you after you took in the information he gave you. A god was sitting on your couch. Your best friend was a god. But he was still your best friend.
"No! I don't want that!" You shook your head at him. "Can you maybe show me?"
"Show you what?"
"Your magic, I want to see it."
"You want to see my magic?" Loki was taking aback by the request, he expected for you to be scared of him or hate him. He knew you were special to him, but he didn't think you will find interest in his magic over everything else.
"Yes!" The smile on his face sent shivers down your spine, you recognized that smile.
The next second Loki disappeared from his place on the couch and you stared at the place in shock. Cautiously you scooched forward until you were sitting right next to his former place on the sofa. You reached a hand forward, searching for him in the air but when your hand went through nothing you looked at it and tilted your head.
That's when you felt the breath in your ear. "I'm not there, love." His voice was right beside you and you turned too fast and fell off of the couch.
You saw Loki there sitting right behind where you were a second ago. Gaping at him, you huffed when he laughed at you.
"You can't just scare me like that!"
"You wanted to see my magic and I showed it to you. It's your fault that you couldn't handle it well." Getting up you took a pillow in your hand. "I am the god of mischief as I just told you. So come on what did you expect?"
"I don't care if you're the god of my ass, you are a little shit." You hit him with the pillow over and over again. "Don't you ever scare me like that again!"
"Okay okay I yield!" his laughter calmed down as yours started and he knew he was done for. Out of all of the scenarios he played in his head about this moment, he never would have expected this. "What are you laughing at?"
"I just punched a god with a pillow."
"Why haven't you killed her yet?"
"Well, it takes time to extract what we want from her. Don't you want to see her before it?" the commander stuttered a bit when he saw who stood in front of him, coming unannounced. The moment they heard the loud familiar noise from outside, they started to hide everything they were working on so that they won't be interrupted and killed.
The two of them walked towards where you still lay in the almost empty room. At the commander's order you were taken out of it and strapped to the chair again.
You slowly opened your eyes a small gasp leaving your throat at the cold shivers that you felt as you got back into reality. You couldn't tell how long it was.
You felt yourself being watched, warning alarms ran through your head and suddenly the shivers weren't from the cold. You forced your eyes to focus back and when you did you finally saw them clearly.
"So there she is, finally with us sweetheart?" Commander Iago's voice ringed in your ears.
"Is this the little girl that is causing so much trouble? She looks so delicate, so breakable."
The second was a voice you did not recognize, it was almost melodic.
"I'm afraid her powers are the danger here, nothing more. We are taking the powers away from her like we agreed."
The new information registered in your brain, you didn't call him out on his lie- not yet at least, not when you actually have an advantage.
"You told me," you could see his eyes widen. "That you know about my powers, so at least be decent and tell me about them before you drain them out of me."
"Go ahead, tell her." The Hydra commander swallowed loudly before he let out a laugh.
"Well, did it ever occur to you that maybe your encounter with a deity left some marks on you?"
"What are you saying?"
"Dear Loki must have put some ancient spell on you not knowing it would cause what it did."
Oh. Then you cast your eyes down and let it register in your brain. All the incidents, the weapons…
"And how would you know about Loki? Who are you?" you looked into those dark grey eyes.
"I guess you're not used to this kind of grace to recognize royalty. I'm Princess Iyllir, wife of your dear little Loki."
"Oh you're no princess." You won't let her see what you were feeling, the effects of her words.
"I will be soon, he was so eager to marry me. I must say I understand why you liked him," she leaned down to you a bit. "He certainly comes with perks with that silver tongue of his."
You knew he was never yours, but hearing her say that only put salt on your open wound.
"He is probably waiting in bed for me, so I should go. But I hope you'll have fun here, it's not like you will be staying with us for long." She then looked back at the agent. "Good job with her, I want you to finish this as soon as possible.
"Yes of course." You saw him pull the remote in his hand and your heart started to race when they put a mouth guard, tears gathered in your eyes as he pressed it and the pain began again.
"How did you not know that Mike is Hydra?" Steve yelled at Tony.
"We must have missed him somehow but we don't have time to blame me for that! The question we need to ask is how do we not know of other Hydra bases?" Bruce took his glasses off and rubbed his eyes.
"Wasn't he working in analysis?"
"F.R.I.D.A.Y, scan everything Mike worked on ever since he and Y/N got together."
"It's his fault."
"Yeah we know- he kidnapped her."
"It's Loki's fault. Everything went wrong after he got here." Steve kicked over a chair and paced the room.
"Steve let's not focus on the blame right now, we need to focus on finding Y/N." Bucky put a hand on his friend's shoulder until he looked up at him and he shot him a reassuring smile. "We all care about her, it's not just you."
"I know Buck, sorry."
"Why would Hydra target her?" Natasha thought out loud.
"It must connect to everything that is going on with their Asgardian technology." Clint sat down next to Tony.
"What about the Asgardian things they stole?" Thor walked into the room and everyone stared at him.
One month ago in Asgard…
"The view from here is beautiful, isn't it?" Grey eyes looked up at him. Iyllir and Loki sat on a bench in the balcony of his room, the skies were clear and the sun shone bright.
He spent the day with the girl. They read books together and she was good conversation, he knew that.
"It is." He looked over all that was below them, the gardens and workers and surrounding all of that were the palace walls.
"It's been lovely spending more time with you, I'm sure the wedding will go splendidly!" she gushed to him and sat ever so closer to him. "It's so soon too."
It really was soon, Loki knew that. You were still there though, all around in his mind. In a crowd he sometimes thinks he sees your face, but he didn't.
He knew he was just chasing shadows, trying to keep himself away from Iyllir but it was of no use, the wedding is soon and he needs to forget about you. He looked over to her.
"I look forward to our new start together." She smiled back at him.
He tried to think clearly, he had to get over you somehow.
The girl in front of him was as beautiful as any Asgardian princess would be- from her soft eyes to her plump lips, and to the rest of her figure. She was smart and perfectly polite like any lady should be.
In the last four months he got to know her better, he couldn't deny her kindness and if only he could forget you he knows he might be satisfied with her.
He had to forget you.
He gently grabbed her chin, moving it slightly upwards to him. He had been dragging this for months, denying it all but the wedding is already planned and he wanted this, he couldn't live in the shadows anymore.
Loki saw the look of surprise on the redhead's face but it soon turned lustful when she leaned up as he leaned down to her. He captured her lips in his and gave it his all; there was no turning back now. She tasted sweet; he brought her even closer to him, deepening the kiss, starting to feel her lust take over him as well.
