> NUMEROLOGY THEORY < get mad
This is easily my most controversial post. but if you want to watch me spit in numerology face, then please read away
Tumblr media
Alright i love my numerology. But i think its complete bullshit. Ive read so many sites and intepretations but they just say the same shit everytime, but when they explain themselves im like wtf that barely makes sense - for example life path 3 is jupiter, and it means; creativity, communication, inspiration. And i guess it makes enough sense to not question it. but i question everything, and i think we can do better than that >And thats where i come innnnn >>> 1 sun : MERCURY - Mercury is the first planet of our solar system, the sun aint a planet it just bright - all life path 1's dont act sunny at all, they act smart and calculated and they are 'independent' but the concept of the sun is not independent - the sun loves to share - mercury is independent, because to have an opinion requires an independent thought from others perspectives. - 'goal orientated' - so we all just don't care about our goals? bull shit fuck that, sounds like a mercury thing to only care about ur own opinion anyway - the sun likes to share and be the 'star' 1 energy don't it focused (like mercury) 2 moon : VENUS - the moon is not about the other (2 people) moon is technically a selfish energy, its about how you feel (yes people make you feel s type of way, but if you lonely, you gonna feel like shit anyway) venus is more appropriate planet for 2, becasuse 2 people requires diplomacy snd sharing, not the moon, the moon acts as a reflection, but it is not diplomatic, its selfish (but adorable) it takes 2 people to love and thats what venus all about, thasts why 2 should be venus (not 6 i'll get into dat) but this one should be pretty straightforward 3 Jupiter : EARTH - Jupiter is abundance and it could be 3 but theres a better answer for jupiter (coming up) 3 is earth because 3 is the holy trinity, god clearly loves earth the most, so its 3 okay, and everyone likes 3 (apparently) 3 is creative - there is no planet more colourful than earth - 3 is communicstion (everything on earth makes a lot of noise) and its inspiring - everywhere you look theres something inspirational on earth - you cant say that about any other planet - the rest of them just got a surface i guess 4 Uranus : Mars - whoever made up 4 as uranus imma slap the shit outta. 4 is a stable number (4 corners to mske s house) 4 is stability -4 is the emperor in tarot - uranus is nothing like that uranus is a crazy as fuck boiiiiiii. mars is far more appropriate, mars wants something it gets it (like emperor, in tarot) also a square is a 4, and thst mskes sense for mars because he all about conflict and competition. also they practical and sensible, and if your as bold as mars, your dsmn right you better be pracitcal or your gonna look like a fool and mars dont want thst.
5 Mercury : Jupiter - i understand 5 is about adventure and exploring, but its so much more fitting for it to be jupiter than fkn mercury. you see how dumb this shit is now??? look at the bigger picturre yall; numerologists didnt study the planets and it shows. 'change and progress' thats jupiters schtick, well hell its a little uranusy but mercury is a stretch. also everyone likes jupiter snd thsts why he 5 - he in the middle because everyone like him 6 Venus : Saturn - now ik your thinking saturn is karma and karma is infinite so it should be 8. well no your wrong, karma is not infinite. its however much you do you get back > think about how you draw the number 6 - you write a line (you do something) and it comes right back at ya (the cirlce bit). its also the lovers because saturn got a ring and everyone wanna find their special person to put a ring on > also saturn loves you, but he loves smacking you too. just like someone who loves you 7 Neptune : Uranus - ok this one does make some sense... because its about solitude and introspection... but anyway it took god 7 days to make the world - and the creation of the world changed the game you could say (like uranus is about change) - it also makes sense for uranus, because to change the world, you gotta observe it not be apart of it (to understand how it works) but you know what neptune does make sense here, so i get where they coming from
8 saturn : Neptune - wanna know what actually infinite? your spirit, spirituality, GOD IS INFINiTE - not yo karma - jesus fkn christ lawd save us and please forgive me for saying yo name in vain as many times as i do but WAT DA FUCK HAPPENED - Ik its associated with being a boss or a leader but to me its about achieving yo dreams, the real boss is someone like 6 or 4 (saturn - mars) and ik you thkink 6 is about love - but yall got no clue how much strength and fortitude it takes to love and it shows, thsts why saturn slaps you in the face as often as he be do > A leader must be in tune with god or they gonna get cancelled and not be givin leadership (dont forget who in charge you little shit)
9 Mars : Pluto - "embarking on a lifelong quest to quench an insatiable thirst for growth and new experiences" um okay - so how tf is that mars? mars is thirsty, but he dont care about growth he just wants some pussy. BUt pluto... now that makes more sense. Pluto wants the truth no mstter the price, and our life path 9's are on a infinite journey of digging and digging and thats what pluto do. pluto will literally put himself in jail just to see whst it feels like, mars will just fight everything, to attain his goals. pluto willl let you punch him to see how hard you punch. Stay dumb - yes i made this up - just as the old numerologists made it up - you dont have to believe me, thats why i dont believe in you.
I also believe if god is real, why wouldn't it be simple? why not correlate each number (and there only 9 numbers - excluding 0) why would it not be in the order god intended it to be?

disclaimer: this is purely based on my opinions and subjective tastes so if u disagree with me that's good for u pls don't be rude to me abt it thank u <3
also! my rating is based on vibes, whether or not i will actually watch a show largely depends on the final trailer!
let's get into it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Enigma
plot keywords: horror fantasy, mains: prim/win
do u know how mad i am abt this. i'm a win anti first and a human second. but i am also a fucked up schools stan first and a human second AND prim is in this . so i'll literally have to watch it i'm so mad 😭😭😭 it looks SO GOOD 😭😭😭😭

A Boss And A Babe
plot keywords: bl, boss/intern romance, mains: force/book
this looks lame i'm sorry 😔😔😔 i don't like the whole boss/intern thing and i also can't take force seriously as a "serious" boss he just sounds tired </3
my rating: 3/10
Find Yourself
plot keywords: straight romance, boss/intern romance, age gap relationship
even worse than A Boss And A Babe. straight, boss/intern AND age gap??? this is dreamy repellent
my rating: 1/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Double Savage
plot keywords: rivalry, fighting, family drama
this one is a difficult one. it's basically just 10 Years Ticket the remix and like why. we didn't need this. foei's evil smile in the trailer tho? yeah that's iconic that's history. for this it'll depend on timing & the final trailer i think
my rating: 5/10
Hidden Agenda
plot keywords: bl, dating help, secret crush, uni bl, mains: dunk/joong
it's a uni bl. what more do i have to say. it just seems a bit boring to me ngl, it feels like a mashup of Star In My Mind and FUTS and i've just had enough. also can they give joong a role that shows emotions. please???
my rating: 3/10
23.5
plot keywords: gl, secret admirer, uni gl, mains: milk/love
fucking finally a gl!!! the trailer looked fine, a bit boring ngl but we take what we can get truly gls are allowed to be a little boring for now. now if gmm won't let them kiss in this show i will personally fly to thailand to set gmm hqs on fire. so just putting that out there watch ur fucking back gmm. u're on THIN ICE
my rating: 7/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because You're My First Love
plot keywords: straight romance, first love, love triangle, mains: prim/dew(/neo)
do u know how long it took me to find out the english title for this. anyways looks boring as hell! not even prim and neo can save this. and i don't like dew so... next!
my rating: 1/10
Cooking Crush
plot keywords: bl, cooking, uni bl, mains: off/gun
it's an offgun bl what else is there to say truly. now controversially i don't like it and i think it looks boring. this cutesy fluffy plotless type of plot is just not really my thing anymore i think? ik they'll do well tho so love and light
my rating: 4/10
Wednesday Club
plot keywords: ensemble cast, friendgroup, drama
now this???? yeah i was actively tuning in. i love drama i love fucked up situations i love people making bad choices and i love people doing worse than me. i wish joong wasn't in this and also what's up with that fakeass laughing in the trailer???? and also i don't understand why they used that music in the trailer? the trailer in general could've been a little better but i'm putting my faith in the final trailer it's gonna be good i'm manifesting it
my rating: 7/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last Twilight
plot keywords: bl, visually impaired person/caretaker, mains: jimmy/sea
LISTEN i love jimmy but this is a no. first of all i don't like the jimmysea pairing (not for any rational reasons but oh well) and i also don't like these kinds of slice of life existential plots that they get here and also had in vice versa. so i will be skipping this sorry jimmy </3
my rating: 3/10
Loneliness Society
plot keywords: straight romance, lying about a relationship
looks boring. i don't really have anything else to say abt this one.
my rating: 1/10
Only Friends
plot keywords: ensemble cast, friendgroup, sort of bl, drama
now THIS??? all the fucking awards there are. best show that was announced this year everybody else go home. it's gay, it's messy, khao and neo are serving severe cunt what else could u possibly want. now idk why they had to throw in forcebook and mark. but not even they can drag this down for me it looks SO GOOD. ask me abt my ideal only friends casting
my rating: 10/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Faceless Love
plot keywords: straight romance, face blindness, rich/poor, love triangle, mains: dew/kao(/peach)
this is not how face blindness works. this whole show is so embarrassing it's funny. i can't take it seriously. also did she literally cure his face blindness at the end of the trailer. no words
my rating: 1/10
Dangerous Romance
plot keywords: bl, high school, enemies to lovers, rich/poor, tutoring, mains: chimon/perth
when i said i want chimon in a bl this is not what i meant. idk it just didn't hit.
my rating: 5/10
The Jungle
plot keywords: ensemble cast, fuckboys, drama
NOW THIS???? U HAVE NO IDEA HOW FUCKING MAD I AM ABT THIS. first of all. the trailer for this show FUCKS so hard. and yet i know this is gonna be a terrible show. AND fucking krist is in it. WHY. i'm so mad i'm so fucking mad
my rating: 2/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Midnight Museum
plot keywords: fantasy, magic, mains: gun/tor
there really is not a lot to say abt this plot wise but my god does it fuck hard. the cast is excellent (they already had me at namtan), the visuals are amazing, the concept looks so good. i'm so excited for this
my rating: 10/10
Our Skyy 2
plot keywords: ensemble cast, previous bl couples, special episodes
there's not much to say abt this. it's our skyy 2 it's self explanatory. as for the couples themselves: i will begrudgingly tune in for patpran, depending on the ending on the eclipse i'll decide whether or not to watch akkayan, puentalay no, nuea/kluen probably not, never let me go pondphuwin idk yet depends on whether or not i'll watch the show and how it ends, phuphatian maybe, my school president guys probably not and a boss and a babe forcebook no
my rating: 6/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beauty Newbie
plot keywords: straight romance, my id is gangnam beauty remake, mains: baifern/win
so we've reached the final flops. yeah nobody moved. when will win be locked away in gmm's basement. we've seen enough of him.
my rating: 1/10
The Interest
plot keywords: straight romance, debt collector/indebted, violence, main: bright
nobody moved. why are they making this. what is the plot. bright needs to stop being handed main roles i'm so serious.
my rating: 1/10
Final Reflections
overall it's a very mediocre year ngl i was a little disappointed. there were very few shows out of the 18 that i was enthusiastic to watch but otherwise it's all very meh. i hope the final trailers will be better tho i'll stay tuned for them!

Am I raising my eyebrow HARD at Gullveig? Yes. Seems a bit.... bot, i mean odd. But I'm almost done caring about botting in this thing now. Anyway to the 3 characters people actually care about.
Corn my beautiful lovely girl you've done it, you get to join your sister 😘 I'm so pleased (would have loved Aqua but was never gonna get both, although Fem Corns votes might transfer to her next year we'll see).
Male Robin, ah my boy I'm so happy to see you here too, he obviously sweeped up Chrom's voters. See realistically if Chrom and Male Robin hadn't been cannibalising each other since the beginning I think there's a decent chance they'd have won earlier than they did cause as much as 3Hs Bros like to deny it, Awakening was and still is super popular.
Soren, I'll be the first to admit I know very little about Ike's games, couldn't play them and definitely not buying them now. But I know Soren's popularity and its nice to see him here.
And the elephant in the room? Felix and Bernadetta missing out again. OK I say this as someone who does really like Felix... I'm happy there's no 3Hs reps here. Like at this point they already have more reps than any other game, there's controversy aren't almost all of them due to the botting fiasco with Marianne and Gatekeeper and frankly fans of other games deserve to get nice things too. Male Robin and Soren especially deserve to be there. I will say as much as I don't like Bernie and the salt from her fans is a bit amusing over this.... I do think that side of the voting draw is looking a bit odd... like Female Corrin I'm not super surprised by, I voted for her after all, I know Fates is still super popular in Japan despite what some people will try and tell us but Gullveig... I forgot her name when I initially seen the winners. I wasn't aware anyone was caring about the plot of Heroes anymore so I do think to a degree Bernie fans have a right to be mad since it looks... like there's a possibility of some botting but due to how the midterm results were shown this year I think it was less to "stop Bernie" since no one knew if Bernie was even in contention and more "lol anime waifu with big tits it'll be funny let's do it".
Anyway I'm choosing FemCorn as my free unit I don't even care if she's shit I need my girl.
Also next year I'm voting for Sigurd (and Aqua) I'm hoping Engage helps Sigurds votes pick up a bit, boy deserves a Brave.

Psych, Shawn Spencer Meta
and now, to complete the dump of my psych thoughts, i thought i'd collate some various discord thoughts and put them all side by side into a post. that way, i can see all my analyses along side one another and easily see how they changed throughout the show's seasons. that being said, here are my thoughts on shawn spencer's psychology, as of season 6 episode 6, 'Shawn Interrupted':
quick disclaimer: the type of analysis I'm doing here is very rudimentary (ie: 'hmm i bet having an absent mother and a controlling father would have An Impact™ on a child', and, 'hey maybe this character who has issues with concentration could have adhd'), and i want to stress that i am very much not an expert, or even really anything more than a lay-man on issues of psychology, trauma, and abuse. truly, i am just chilling, attempting to connect some dots. that being said, here are The Thoughts:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and now, a brief interlude to talk about how i think shawn feels about gus, as of the finale of season 6:
Tumblr media
since i don't go much into any evidence in this screenshot - the person im talking to hasn't seen the show, so i didn't want to get bogged down in details that would ultimately mean nothing to them - here's a brief elaboration on what i mean:
the core tenant of the shawn + gus relationship is that they like each other. and yes, that's a very obvious thing to say, but its kind of necessary to establish - especially considering the habit of sitcoms + serial shows like this to accidentally write main characters that seemingly despise each other, and only seem to stick around each other bc of the demands of the genre.
so, shawn and gus like each other. they find each other funny, they enjoy each others company, they are very invested in each others success + happiness, etc. they spend a lot of time 'fighting' (ie: 'i hate you, shawn' + shawn calling gus some variant of lame), but the more of the show you watch the more obvious it becomes that this is very superficial bit that they do, and doesn't reflect their actual, big picture feelings abt the other party. even when they are actually for real fighting, the show makes a point to establish that the relationship itself is never in any real jeopardy (ie: that time shawn stormed out, only to come back in and ask gus for fashion advice. also, that time gus said to shawn's Face that it was highly unlikely that shawn could ever do something to fully, 100% drive him away).
now we're not going into hero worship territory here - the facts of the matter are that shawn and gus are both, genuinely, quite lame. they are nerds. dorks. idiots. etc. they fully recognise this in each other (if usually not themselves), and still think of each other as their favourite person!
so, yes, the scene in the polarising express where shawn imagines gus as a helpless slave to a woman who seemingly only loves his money, is more than a little bit of a joke at gus' expense. but shawn's reaction to the scene is very genuine - he is upset, first and foremost, that gus isn't being appreciated. because gus deserves appreciation! he really is just the 'specialest' boy in shawn's eyes, and shawn believes that he thus deserves an appropriate amount of recognition (ie: literally everything about the high school reunion episode, omg).
tl;dr: best friends who roast each other together, but still 100% believe that the other party deserves the world, stay together :)

Hi! I love your posts and want to ask your opinion on something. Who do you think in the batfam has the most and the least common sense of a normal person? If you can, can you also list how they are arranged? Thank you!
Ooohhh, this is a fun one! In my mind all bats lack common sense. Like obviously they're hella smart, after all they are a family of detectives, they just aren't very bright.
Here's a quick rundown (least to most): Tim and Dick tie for first place, both lack common sense in just in completely different ways. Then Damian (mostly cause of the whole 'being raised by league of assassins' thing), Bruce, Cass (controversial ik), Steph, Jason, Duke, Babs, and last on the list is obvs Alfred. (Kate is probs between Cass and Steph, but I've only really seen her in the DCAMU and need to get to know her better).
And Ima add a 'keep reading' cause this is gonna get long.
Tim:
Tim is one of the smartest in the family. He deduced Batman's identity as a child, majorly fucked up the League of Assassins, and has been honored (I say this v sarcastically just btw) with Ra's creepy obsession. He's smart, plain and simple. However, when it comes to just day to day survival and being loved, goddamn that boy is dumb.
He regularly mixes energy drinks and coffee. Sometimes he even mixes energy drinks, alcohol, and coffee.
In his mind warnings are optional. "Tim, did you just sniff that drano?" "Yeah, why?" "IT LITERALLY SAYS DO NOT SMELL" "Oops"
He regularly tests shit on himself. "Why is Tim on the floor?" "He mixed joker venom and fear gas to see what would happen" "HE WHAT"
Also if you try to compliment him or tell him you love him he will find a way to misunderstand. "Tim, I love you and you are an amazing son." "I don't know who this Tim is but he sounds great" "It- it's you, literally you. Timothy Jackson Drake." "I'm a bit confused, I didn't know you knew two Timothy Jackson Drakes. You should really introduce us."
Dick:
Dick in many ways is a total himbo. He's a complete sweetheart, super supportive, and very ditzy. His ditzy-ness directly correlates to how relaxed he is. Chilling in the manor? Peak himbo. A mission in space? Absolute genius and amazing leader. Just took down a bunch of thugs? Slowly reverting into dopey boi. He always has the ability to be super analytical, smart, and big brain, but he likes being whimsical and even airheaded. And that's not a bad thing, it's just him taking mental breaks, being lighthearted.
"YOU PUT DIESEL IN YOUR CAR?" "...Yeah, in my defense the nozzles look basically the same" "They're different colors?! Also the diesel nozzle doesn't even fit into your gas tank, how did you get it in?" "I'm a good pourer."
He always responds to the word dick and it always confuses him. "God Ra's is such a dick!" "What?" "Ra's is a dick" "I'm not Ra's!" "Wha- no! I mean penis dick!" "Ohhhh, yeah he is a penis dick"
Once Dick is safe he reverts into himbo pretty quickly, even after stressful situations. "Hey Wally?" "Yes babe?" "I forgot how to change my lock screen again" "Dick, you just hacked into an alien spaceship not even an hour ago??" "What's that have to do with anything?"
Damian:
Damian lacks common sense from growing up with the League of Assassins. He's an amazing warrior and super analytical but casual human interaction alludes him. He is getting better though, so eventually he'll be lower on the list than Steph. But for now he's a senseless bby.
The first time someone tried to give him high five he assumed it was an attack and flipped them. Same with a fist bump.
This is complete canon but his original treatment of Alfred, his brothers, and, well, everyone. Like bby boy please read the room.
His ego can easily override common sense. Like he wouldn't jump off a bridge if everyone else was doing it, but if someone said he couldn't he'd immediately swan dive off that bridge.
Bruce:
For the world's greatest detective he can be a major dumb bitch sometimes. Some of it's growing up rich and some is being so wrapped up in his 'crusade for justice' that he just misses basic shit.
One time he walked in on Roy and Jason making out, the next day he saw them cuddling, then they mentioned moving in together. It took him three months to realize that they're dating.
He doesn't understand coupons, like at all. Jason has tried to explain them but Bruce just gets even more confused.
Bruce tried to make coffee once. He literally just poured coffee beans in water and microwaved it. He was surprised when it didn't taste good.
Cass:
Cass is similar to Damian in she lacks common sense from an unconventional upbringing. However she's learning way faster than Damian and depending on where in the timeline you're looking she might have more common sense than Babs.
Basic things like lines, turn taking, and speaking when spoken to aren't innate to her. Like, she knows and understands them, but often forgets about them.
There are many times that she blurs the line between civilian and vigilante because she'll do something that looks v stupid and dangerous for a civilian. The thing is she never notices when she does this.
One time she was in a restaurant and there was a cockroach on the wall across the room (cause Gotham) and instead of getting up and killing it like a normal person she threw her steak knife and impaled it.
Steph:
Steph is probably lacks common sense the most conventional yet slightly concerning way. She lacks common sense in the same way a cartoon character or sitcom character would. Like it's sorta realistic but at the same time damn bby girl why are you such a disaster??
She will do anything on a dare. Anything. There is a rule against daring Steph to do things while in the manor or on patrol.
Every time she hears someone say Red Robin she yells yum. This has gotten both her and RR shot.
Steph is v lucky that 1) she's a badass and 2) the batfam loves her because she annoys absolutely everyone just for shits and giggles and the only reason she hasn't been murdered is that Cass scares everyone.
Jason:
All common sense is lost when dramas at stake. Say what you will but Jason is the (second) biggest drama queen in the family. Also he, like most bats, lacks a sense of self preservation which leads to shit common sense.
He tried to steal Batman's tires.
Sometimes he listens to music during patrol and tries to hit people/shoot on beat. This has lead to stab wounds.
Jason loves to loudly quote classic literature while on stake outs. This is a problem for obvious reasons.
Duke:
Ok this is around the time you get to average common sense levels. But he still runs around Gotham beating people up in tights (or kevlar) so he doesn't get full points. Also he's still not Babs level common sense. One area Duke lacks common sense in is how to deal with the Batfam (which is v understandable tbh)
One time Duke was joking around with Jason and decided to steal a roll off of Damian's plate. This ended in blood.
Other than lacking Batfam common sense, most of his poor judgement moments are less notable but still concerning.
For example the time he challenged Dick to a hot dog eating contest then went on a roller coaster.
Babs:
Other than being a vigilante Babs almost has normal human common sense. However being a vigilante has negative side effects on ones common sense.
While Babs' sleep schedule isn't as bad as Tim's it's not a whole lot better. She's stayed up 72 consecutive hours multiple times.
She has accidentally poured coffee onto her computer instead of into a coffee mug.
One time she drank an entire gallon of milk before realizing it was a month expired.
Alfred:
Most assume that working for Bruce Wayne is a sign of him lacking common sense. But nah, it's him knowing, understanding, and challenging his own limits. Also it's him being a charitable human being. Like he has enough common sense to go around and tbh it's the only thing keeping the family alive.
"Master Bruce, you may not use Elmer's Glue All to close a wound."
"Master Dick I would encourage you not to teach Master Duke acrobatics on the glass coffee table."
"Miss Stephanie I would not advise trying to consume an entire jar of peanut butter in one sitting, and no, I do not care if Master Jason dared you to."
Tada, there's the list! Sorry that was probably a lot longer than anyone wanted, but I enjoy talking about how ditzy the batfam is. Like they're all geniuses but at the same time they're just sooooo dumb.

Thanks for answering that last ask, lol. I half-expected you were going to ignore it tbh. I was hesitating when I wanted to send the ask, bcs, well, duh. It's controversial af lol. Just wanted to let ya know that you're not the only one with that view. (Great minds alike, am I right?) So please don't stop. Really.
This is gonna be a bit of a rant, and if you feel the need not to answer this ask, due to the fear of causing controversy in your blog, I 100% understand. Dunno if tumblr will cut off my ask so i'm hoping this is sent in its full-form.
I honestly agree that Tony gets maybe a *bit* too much spotlight (especially after the CACW shit and fans picking team tony/steve), and I hate that Stephen is just used as a plot device. I don't get why exaggerating a char's innocence is a good thing. Especially if they put other characters *too* antagonised and spiteful. It's petty. And putting another character in it (refer this as Stephen) as a plot device to make the main char more angelic is just.... idk. I'm only using rather insensitive words bcs I'm on anon ngl hahahahah.
Which is why, when I found your ao3 profile, I felt like you saved my life. Cus like. Idk. It's rare to find fics alike. Not really good with words so yeah.
Also thanks sm for tagging your fics properly, lest I wouldn't have found your works.
Ik some authors who share the same idea with the matter, but either they wanted to reach a wider fanbase by venturing into ships and fulfilling people's cravings (that require an ooc stephen, wince), or they simply don't have the writing capabilities to match their intentions -- like you do -- yet, I'm not so sure.
So basically yeah. Binge read your works this week. You're doing super great. Please keep going or else I would've probably never been here in the first place.
Fucking love your works. Don't hate on me for this if you happen to find it irrational ;-; Though if you do, I'm honestly interested with what you think. Sorry for sending a long ass ask.
Hey it's all chill, my anon friend. I really try not to hate on folks, even when I don't agree with everything they say or do. The world needs more empathy after all. And you've done nothing wrong in this ask here.
I personally don't ignore asks. It may take a month or two to get to some as it has in the past during busy or bad seasons, but I get to them. (I also don't get a ton so they're easy to answer haha.) The only ones not answered are short fic prompts that have taken me over 2 years to get to, which I'd like to finish eventually... some day.
I expanded on the topic about other characters in the last ask so I won't get into it again here, but I will say that unfortunately Stephen is not a terribly popular character compared to many other MCU characters like Tony, Bucky, and Loki. It makes finding fic starring him very challenging. He's also a difficult character to write well, though I applaud folks for trying, truly. It's great when people challenge themselves and don't let the fear of failure or judgement keep them from trying.
Anyone who hasn't written Stephen because they're not sure how to write him, or have written him but aren't confident with their writing of him, I recommend rewatching his origin film in particular as that's often forgotten for what we saw in IW and Endgame. There's also some good video essays about the character on YouTube. Some fanfic of him is good, while others are very bad, so it's a hit or miss there. One shot character pieces that are not concentrating on a ship tend to be more reliable, in my experience, for a better character analysis because the goal of the piece as a one shot is more a character study, and without the romance you aren't looking at the character as part of a unit. You need to know the character before you study how he works as a romantic partner, IMO.
I'm hoping his film helps his popularity, but I do have some fears that it will be drowned out a bit by Wanda. We'll have to see what happens on AO3 in particular, which is where my primary fandom interest lies in this case. I really, really want to see fic that isn't just reader inserts. Totally legit fanfic, but romance is already not my cup of tea and, if they aren't just smut pieces, those tend to be caretaker-Stephen fics which are a dime a dozen with his fics with Tony and Peter. So yeah, hopefully there will be more variety in the coming weeks. Of the action/adventure/drama type. A girl can dream.
I'm thrilled you like my writing. And also my tagging, some of the tagging is very hard to complete with some of the one shots xD but seriously, you're sweet. And you're good. Don't sweat it ❤️

Happy Holidays fic recs
Happy Holidays everybody!  I haven’t been commenting on posts individually like i normally like to so it’s kind of backed up a bit. I still really want to thank all the authors who have been sharing their stories with us and leave a lil itty bitty comment before I can expand on them for their own post so here’s that! Also I’ve seen a lot of undeserved negativity being spread to a lot of authors and I just want to thank you all for sharing your work on this platform FOR FREE and remind you that you literally owe us nothing and I’m super grateful that you continue to share with us. These are just some stories that I’ve read this week, i’d def like to do another of these soon :)
Disclaimer: I DO NOT own any of these stories, each story is owned by the author tagged next to the title and the summary is pulled verbatim from their page, in quotation marks. The only thing I own is gratitude towards these authors for sharing their work with us.
Also all stories are rated M
Also, a loooot of stories have come out lately and I haven’t had a chance to get to a lot of them yet but i hope to soon so I’ll hopefully make another one of these soon, but yea pls know that I’m not purposefully ignoring or excluding anything or anyone.
Jin;
last christmas | ksj x reader - @xjoonchildx
“ summary: it was bound to happen, eventually. after months of near misses at barbecues and birthdays, there’s no avoiding your ex-husband at hoseok’s annual christmas bash. but it’s fine, totally fine, because you’re both adults – and you’ve both brought dates and booze. what could go wrong? “
This story was amazing! First of all, I love the comedy surrounding the entire situation, Hobi with his 8 trees and instigator Yoongi who also wants them to get their shit together for Hobi’s sake. I love all au’s but sometimes exes to lovers is difficult for me to side with because I don’t see how people can bounce back from so much hurt but in this story it felt very natural how they were able to find their way back together and I really enjoyed the insight to their relationship, especially near the end.
Yoongi;
CREAM & SUGA -  @snackhobi
“summary: yoongi is your favourite regular. he’s patient, polite, and predictable, a-large-black-coffee-to-go-please, no cream, no sugar, thank you. rinse and repeat. the seasons might change, but yoongi’s order stays the same.
and then one fateful day in winter, yoongi asks about the weekly specials, orders a cup of christmas and sugary sweetness, and everything starts changing.”
Ya’ll. Yoongi fics just truly hit different. The plot of this was so adorable and him going out of his way like that to keep her engaged was so cute and just very Yoongi like. I also just really loved the descriptions in this, like how oc described making the drinks, it just made everything seem so real.
universe | myg drabble - @personasintro
“❥𝒔𝒚𝒏𝒐𝒑𝒔𝒊𝒔; you’re his whole universe, you just don’t know it yet – or him”
ASDFGHJKL! Like, I really have no words for the way this made me feel. Like, ik it’s not a super healthy dynamic but the thought of a fixated Yoongi is.. I loved reading Yoongi being so fixated with oc and doing everything i his capability to meet her. I also was v interested in the part where he bumped into her and she didn’t react the way he expected because it made me think about how he (or any character’s with his mindset) cope when the fantast and reality don’t match.
Hobi;
 A Holly, Jolly Crisis (M) -  @kpopfanfictrash
* Blog doesn’t allow copy/paste and I wanted to respect that*
This story made me feel so many things. Like there’s so many layers to it and both of their hurt, her visiting him and feeling betrayed while he felt pushed aside. This story was so complex and both characters had so many layers to them, but it’s still sooo well written and I was invested the entire time. Like, I genuinely can’t get my feelings out in a brief way so I’m looking forward to screaming about this in it’s own post.
Joonie;
 my only wish - knj | m - @ppersonna
“✹ summary- There are few things you hate most in this world. Hornets, unnecessary fruit pieces in otherwise perfectly good jello, certain shades of orange… But nothing takes the cake more than two simple things. Christmas. And Kim Namjoon. So why did you agree to pretend to be Kim Namjoon’s girlfriend at his family Christmas party? Bah-Humbug. “
UM! Absolutely adored this story, of course it would be a fellow cream suit enthusiast who can bring so much justice to dreamy Joon. I loved how he was portrayed here and getting insight to both his and oc’s feelings made me root for them soooo hard.
new parent syndrome - @1kook
“ SUMMARY You love Namjoon, honest. But you love your daughter Hyejoo even more— it’s not a controversial sentiment when you know he’s the same way! —and going back to a regular adult life sans kids absolutely sucks. (Or so you thought.)”
The tag “dreamy husband joon” is extremelyyyy accurate. This story was just so cute and their relationship truly felt so intimate and lovely. Her being on the phone with Jimin while Joon was smash SENT me but it was also so hot like ASDFGHJKL that man can do no wrong tbh.
  laundry day - @snackhobi
“summary: You’ve been letting your laundry pile up for a little too long. Fortunately, your neighbour Namjoon is there to lend you a hand. “
Pls this was so hot. Like, I’ve made it very clear thus far that I’m a total simp for Joon, the thought of that man going strawberry picking and thinking to grab some for oc genuinely makes me SWOON. He’s an actual heartthrob.
The Sweet in Sweet Potato - @sahmfanficbts
“ Summary: You’ve been roommates for years. Now that you’re catching feelings, it’s time to run away. “
This entire series has had me so invested but this chapter!!! I’m always a sucker for Joon but the way he was so clearly in her feels (for OC) but wanting to respect her need for distance, what a man. And I was so happy to see oc working through her feeling towards Joon.
Last Christmas (M) - @jjungkookislife
* Blog doesn’t allow copy/paste and I wanted to respect that*
Damn, I really love when a misunderstanding is such a big catalyst for a bunch of drama/angst. It just really ups the tension for me because as the reader I know it was a misunderstanding but clearly the character’s don’t, so it just makes me really eager to see how they make amends. I really enjoyed seeing them slowly make amends and grow. Also the buildup to them deciding to give the relationship another go made the ending soooo satisfying.
Jimin;
 picking petals|pjm - @taestybae
“ summary ↣ you asked for a baby, so a baby is what you’re going to get. “
I really have no words for this, like it was so asaifgjhhkc. First of all, I really enjoyed that it was through his pov, i don’t typically read stories like that (I just don’t often come across them) but this still felt so natural that I didn’t even realize until right now, writing this comment. Also, the imagery was so well described and the anticipation built made this story so enjoyable.
Taehyung;
 Deepest Indulgence  - @scribblemetae
“ Description/Summary: The world is a mess, gangs, violence and rates of poverty are at an all time high since corporations took over everything. You built your Sex house to be a safe place and a sanctuary for those in need, promising to protect anybody who needs it. What happens when an extremely attractive and very rich man walks through the door begging for a job at Deepest Indulgence? The one sex house that wasn’t meant for men like himself. “
I AM SO EAGER FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER TO COME OUT. Like, idk how I can even describe this correctly but this just feel so much like Tae...???? Like idk if that makes sense but just Tae being this v sensual man, but there still being more to him than that, just makes so much sense and even the word “indulgence” is just so sensual and reminiscent of him. Also, the storyline so far is something I’ve personally never seen before and I’m super invested in this world and story already. Very eager to see how their relationship progresses.
 let it snow | kth - @suga-kookiemonster
* Blog doesn’t allow copy/paste and I wanted to respect that*
It’s the way I read this last night, it took me exactly an hour (3am to 4 am cause I’m a CLOWN), and I was so invested that I kept putting off sleep to finish it. Man, i’m a simp for this Tae (just like he is for oc lmao). I really enjoyed reading it and the mention of Jisoo earlier in the story had me on the edge of my seat the whole time wondering when things were gonna blow up. Everything was just so sweet and fluffy, and the confession really made me feel so soft for them both cause they both were so in their own heads and feelings they couldn’t see what was in front of them so I really enjoyed the confessions.
Jungkook;
Thank you, baby - @scribblemetae
“ Turns out the boy whos been stalking you for years has decided its about time he shows his face in the form of a picture, and decides its time to talk to you for real, in the form of a phone call. “
I genuinely don’t know how I can simp over this story in a short way but I’ll try my best. The characters are so complex and the storyline is twisted so many ways that make this so interesting to read and easy to become invested in. The way Jk is written, I understand why OC is lost on how to feel for him. Like, his actions are wrong, but actually meeting him and even seeing his though process, it’s hard to make him out to be the villian that his actions have categorized him as. I can’t wait to continue reading and write a full length comment about this!
FEED ME, FIGHT ME.  @yeojaa
“ What do you get when you mix a pissed off girlfriend with a neglectful boyfriend?  (Aside from trouble, that is.) “
I really enjoyed this, I love how aware of Jk and his boundaries the oc is and how she is cautious to walk the line and not push him too far while also letting him know how his actions make her feel. This just genuinely felt like a glimpse into a very real, very intimate relationship/moment and I loved that. I also just really love how this is written and I think you have a beautiful way with words.
Chapstick - @softyoongiionly
“based on the time Jungkook said he needed someone to scold him so he’d remember to put lip balm on. Or Jungkook’s had a really long day and the only that can make it better, is seeing you. “
Idk if I’ve ever said it before, but I just love how you write relationships. Like, I can feel how comfortable they are with each other and how natural being together is for them. With your stories generally it just never feels forced and I really love that. I also really liked that we got Jk’s pov in the beginning, getting to see how tense he was really made me eager for their interactions and for him to feel comfortable and calm with her. Their interactions just felt so cute and natural and the end, assdjfhi, jk really deserves to be cherished and I loved seeing oc get him to the point of relaxation.

For the salty asks: numbers one, five, six, and twenty through twenty-three please 😇
I live for the chaos so pls just... go off my dude
Ah Tay, reason #187893467 that I love you is that you indulge me in my rants <3
Salty asks are from this post!
K this got LONG so here's a read more!
1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
Honestly even though I don't multi-ship often I DO usually get the appeal behind ships so this is a really short list. This will probably get me some hate but I still to this day can't get behind c/ex@ from the show that will not be named. But then again I do get the appeal of two super attractive women with chemistry and the whole ruler/ girl who makes the ruler change their ways thing. So I guess I get it even if I don't like it?
Also, and this is not to hate on Hinny, but Harry and Ginny from HP are not my cup of tea. I like what fandom has done for them but the actual content we get for them in the books (and movies, but I prefer the books) isn't enough for me to love them. Same with Mal and Alina from S & B/ Grishaverse, they're so bland to me in the books but the show is doing far better with them and actually making Mal ya know. Likeable. Again, I don't ship it, but best friends to lovers is top tier so I get it.
Oh! I also don't really get Dwalin/Ori from The Hobbit, but that is probably in large part because I'm a Dwalin/Nori shipper. Again though, all of the secondary characters' relationships in The Hobbit rely on fans to extrapolate HARD and wear extreme shipper goggles, and ik there's that scene where Dwalin helps Ori out of the river so like.. maybe that's where it's from? I don't hate it or anything but it's always something that's made me go ??? cause I have no idea where the heck it came from.
Apart from that... I can't think of any rn? I feel like I understand where all the PJO ships come from, even if I don't ship them. There are a couple that I don't understand how they can be someone's OTP, just because I find them super boring (no offense to those who ship C@leo or J@siper but I just don't love how Rick handled those relationships). In TSC I think fandom mainly vibes with the same pairings and that's true for most of my book fandoms. With the shows I watch I don't think fans majorly ship anything too out there for me. Maybe I don't interact enough with fandoms to tell. So this is all I got.
5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
Oh my god, oh my god, this is a can of worms, my lord. A pairing I'm not so sure about, but characters? Abso-fucking-lutely. I took a break from PJO fandom for exactly that reason and the list of characters is endless honestly, for multiple fandoms.
I won't say fandom ruined Bell@rke for me cause I still ship it, but I definitely lost enthusiasm with how toxic the shows fandom was and then that was made even worse when the show completely destroyed itself with the worst writing and plots ever in the latter seasons.
Also I have a feeling that G@me of Thrones/ @soiaf ruined one for me but I can't remember this very second. Maybe not, and again that's probably cause I don't interact with fandoms en masse, usually just through fic and following a few people I vibe with in each.
6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?
Yes, quite a few! I used to dislike Drarry (for obvious reasons I feel) and Romione (as a kid I wanted Hermione to be with Harry and even when I grew out of that I really didn't like she was with Ron) but fandom changed that for sure. And same with Darklina now, I was upset cause I felt like the books really underutilized their relationship and fell short of what could have been a super awesome pairing if better explored, but the show fandom is taking it in so many different ways that I'm starting to really love them despite the reasons I shouldn't.
And I won't say I hated Hayffie in THG, but definitely the only reason I ship them is from reading @ellanainthetardis's fic Have a Drink Sweetheart and then all the others written for them. That portrayal of Hayffie and the characters have become my own headcanons now because I've been reading them for so long and they're so good.
Fandom made me ship Leon and Morgana from Merlin too, though that's very lowkey. I never hated them, I just never thought of them as a pairing until reading fic.
20. What is the purest ship in the fandom?
Percabeth. I don't care which fandom, it's Percabeth. Growing up together, going from enemies to friends to best friends to lovers? The establishment of them being best friends and the way Rick wrote that friendship was so pure, and they are a couple with no internal problems, all external, and you just know they're gonna be together through everything, fighting at each other's side, cause that's the way they are. There's a reason they're my OTP and it's cause they are the most well-established, ride or die couple I can think of. They're just so solid.
21. What are your thoughts on crack ships?
Love em for fandom but personally I very rarely get behind crackships just because I usually need a lot of build up, scenes, good dialogue and chemistry, etc. to ship something, so most of my ships aren't crack ships. The only one I can really think of that I actively root for and ship and would read fic for is Billy/ Owen from 911 Lonestar which is just... something.
Like idk if Barduil from The Hobbit is crack because ik it's quite popular... what makes a ship a crack ship anyway? Lack of canon reference? Is it cause they two characters would be so random together because they barely ever interact? Or because it's SO unrealistic you know for sure it will never happen but want it to anyway? Or is it lack of popularity in fandom? I need someone to define this so I have a better answer :D if it's the second option then I have MANY
I love seeing fandom stuff for crack ships though, cause seriously, it's fiction, ship who you want. If you ship two characters just cause you think they're pretty side by side then that's enough for me. Make all of the fan art and fic you like.
22. Popular character you hate?
Oof. Jason from HOO. And Leo in everything after The Lost Hero. I hated Piper in The Lost Hero and Mark of Athena but like her after those. I don't like any of the book characters from S & B except Nikolai, but I like everyone in the show (except David? Why did they make him so weird? Like he's not even awkward, he's straight up rude imo, but anyway). In @soiaf I don't like Jon Snow, I think he's boring. And I despise Jorah Mormont cause I think he's creepy for having a crush on Dany.
Didn't love Stefan in TVD, too much of a goody-two-shoes. I liked dark Stefan but it felt like a totally different character. Honestly most of the characters I don't like cause they're boring or too by-the-book.
OH! A big one in M@rvel is Captain America. Can't stand him honestly, I like him as a character to have in the story, but I like never agree with him on anything. I like a couple of his one-liners but that's it really. I also don't like Gale in THG, idk if that's controversial. Or Lex@ from the show that will not be named because I think she's manipulative and not good for any of the characters i DO love.
Is Ron popular? I think so. I like fandom Ron but not canon Ron and idk why. I think I'm growing out of it but I read those books when I was like 7 initially so I thought it was awful of Ron to stop being friends with Harry because he was jealous and I never really got over that.
There are so many but I'm gonna stop now.
23. Unpopular character you love?
Again, tons. I love anyone whose got kind of a tortured backstory because it makes them more interesting to me.
I love Movieverse Hawkeye! I think Clint is great and while I wish his deafness was canon in Marvel and I don't love J Remmer, I do love Hawkeye a lot. He was honestly one of the only Marvel characters that felt consistent and in-character throughout the movies.
I like President Snow from THG just cause I think he was a fantastic villain. And Effie and Haymitch aren't unpopular, but they're probably my favourites, again because of the fics mentioned above.
Leon from Merlin!! I don't actually think he's unpopular, but he's like... my fourth favourite character in the show which I know IS considered high for most people.
Sandor Clegane from ASOIAF. Not the show, just the books. His book character is phenomenal and I am so excited for GrrM to finish the goddamn series so I know what happens to him.
The Stolls and Katie Gardner from PJO cause fandom created Tratie and sucked me in at a young age.
Bellatrix Lestrange? Is she unpopular? I don't think so but she's another one I think is a fantastic villain. I'm almost more interested in her than Voldemort tbh.
That's probably it!
Thanks so much for the ask Tay, this was tons of fun! Anyone else who's interested can feel free to fill my inbox!

I feel so bad letting this sit for so long, but better late than never I suppose! Thank you to literally everyone who tagged me in this. Literally every time I see these posts it makes me grin like an absolute dope at my phone. This is one of the best fandoms I’ve ever been in. I know I joke that I’m just sitting in my corner making garbage, so thank yall for making the room my corner is in so lovely.
So here’s a shoutout to the people who made my 2020 better. If I’m following you (from my main @hyperspacial because despite being on tumblr for nearly a decade I still hardly know how to run a sideblog) I 100% like you. I’m sorry if I forget to tag people :( Also this is about to be a long ass post- don’t feel obligated to reply or like or whatever just because you’re tagged :P
@garyandhisnan. I just…. I adore you. Highkey would walk to the ends of the earth if you asked. Your writing, your posts, everything is top notch (and you’re an awesome person to boot which like… shouldn’t be allowed). Thank you for letting me rant about American late-stage capitalism and all the other nonsense I flood your inbox with. If yall aren’t following them, go do it now.
@deuchess
Tumblr media
@ariendiel Why you would want to collaborate with me, ME, of all people? Still astounds me. I pinkie promise we’re gonna do it though, and it’s gonna be so good. I’m so excited. But seriously, your fics are some of the only ones that I can keep coming back to. Your writing is *chefs kiss* and your edits/moodboards are literally so pretty. I love your blog and I cherish you, you slut cheat.
@kiki-the-creator same brain saME BRAIN SAME BRAIN how do we have the exact same brain!? Your fics literally are the best thing this fandom has produced- I come up with these half baked concepts, you make them actually good, then I play dollhouse with them over and over again in my head forever :3 That Erikah fic? Literally every Marisol fic you write?? I love them. Also you’re highkey so funny and ugh. Te adoro.
@bubblelaureno you’re literally too good for me. For real. I’m sorry I’m so shitty about keeping up to date with fics and edits, you deserve way more than my shitty memory and my 2 second long attention span. Your blog is literally a beacon of positivity and it’s absurd how much I admire your drive and your analytical way of thinking. This fandom is so lucky to have you.
@codename-mango controversial yet brave opinion- your blog is the best LITG blog on tumblr. Your headcanons, your jokes, your route overviews? All immaculate. Even your reblogs are the best of what everyone else is posting. You’re the only reason I have notes, and I appreciate you sm.
@oneflewoverthecuckoos my comment to mango is controversial only because if not her, then your LITG sideblog for sure. For a ‘Lucas’ blog, the diversity of content and LIs you talk about is refreshing. I fucking love seeing people talk about non-LI characters.
@inthenewblood thank you for letting me bitch about the reddit oml it’s needed. Also having someone to be salty with? A new but not unwelcome experience lmfao
@noahssidechick you are literally so sweet oml I treasure our chats and the pictures of your dogs. You bring such a chill and earnest vibe to the fandom and ugh, I’m so glad to have you.
@fuseboxmusebox I feel like you’re so consistent in the fandom, like you were here when I first joined and you’ll be here after I inevitably lose interest and leave. Your reblogs are top notch, the takes are even topper notch, and it wouldn’t be a ‘litg blogs that made me happy’ list without you.
@crvsh-culture I will never not sing your praises. I love your blog, I love you perspective, I love your vibe. I consider you a friend even though we’ve talked like… once.
@radiantdae your artbreeder edits were the first thing in the fandom that left me genuinely astounded. Like holy shit they were so good. Kassam??? That was a REAL MAN. Obviously the stuff you post now is really good too and your blog is excellent. But tbh when I think of the LITG fandom, the first think I think of is your artbreeder pictures. Also your ‘filipino words that make me think of the islanders’. I still think of that often.
@therealityofthematteris seeing you in my notes makes me smile every time. That’s basically all, just needed to say it lmao. Also if anyone has almost convinced me to start playing TWC, it’s you and Seliné.
@bellarxse my dash would be dry af without you. Same with TWC- I’m so tempted to play because of your posts (I have it downloaded on my phone but like…. I haven’t finished a single route in Arcana and starting a new thing is overwhelming). But also your prompts are one of the few things that makes me want to write lmfao.
@lahelakoh I feel like I’ve said it before but your posts SEND me oml. The tiktok references, the chaotic energy. Both the taste and the flavour is immaculate.
@kiwi-tai we haven’t talked that much but oml I love your content so much 15/10
@confused-inalltheways-human you’re literally so cool and I think about that Harry fic all the time. Am I ever gonna get around to writing it? Probably not. But it was such a good idea. Also thank you for lighting up my notification.
@oceanatydes you come here, you post literally spectacular content, and then you peace out like bruh I wish I had your mind. I adore your edits, but my favorites are your posts/headcanons.
@voile-de-lune your aesthetic is everything I aspire to be and your headcanons/edits are such a refreshing take on characters that we’ve all gotten so stale with. I still live for that Rahim moodboard you made. Also your headcanons are so fantastic.
@lasswithumor this fandom desperately needs more Carl stans, thank you for doing the lords work. Also I highkey stalk your blog on a regular basis jsjsjsjsjsjs every chat we’ve had has been lovely and ugh, you’re just lovely
@bobbysapron your vibes are literally so immaculate. I know it’s been awhile since we chatted but I highkey adore your content and ugh. You’re such a cool person.
@beebips I feel like you’ve vanished off my dash, but you made up for it with that 3rd chapter of The Other Side of Seventh Ave made up for it.
@nerdferatum I don’t think I’ve ever breathed a word in your direction but oml you’re so sweet and supportive and every time your posts cross my dash I *pleading emoji*
@mrsgaryrennell I’m still agog that we’re mutuals because like… You are so talented. It took me waaaayyy too long to get into Blue and Hazel but now that I have… It’s highkey better than the actual season skskskskss
@kingkassam Like the above, you are waaaayyy too cool to be following me sksksksk. I’ve still got a few edits you had ideas for in the pipeline, and highkey the Kassam icons you requested are my favorite edits I’ve ever made. I live for someone else playing Matchmaker.
@hermitclaw  hello?????? You’re so funny what the FUCK are you doing following me. Ik you don’t post that much anymore, but every LITG you grace us with is a knockout. It feels unreal when you reblog my stuff. Basically the same to @mchamster. Like you’re both so funny and have been in the fandom for so long that it fully feels like royalty whenever yall interact with me.
@ravenadottir I am fully unworthy to even mention your name but oml. Your guides are the only thing that help me retain information about the season, and your recent outfit edits? Oh my god they’re so good. Hope’s especially, with the brightly colored swimsuit, left me absolutely speechless. You’re just above everything in the fandom and I admire that so much. Plus you really don’t have to flex that hard in your fics, and yet-
@smaiihands saving the best for last because you are one of the single most talented people in this fandom. Your art is the strongest life support for the fandom and like I know we haven’t talked in awhile but you’re also such a dope person. So.
And a big shoutout to all the people I follow who I don’t talk to but have nothing but good vibes. I appreciate yall way more than I can articulate: @richhdesire @needsomesorrel @ficticiouspastry @cranesandshipyards @litg-ish @princesslove19060 @fictitiouspastery  @icedcoffee-please @demons-dogs-and-puns @sparklydinosaurr @mountainmanxoxo  @diamondsdiary @bucket-bill@another-lottie-simp @bobbys-darling @cyn-onlyyou @mikcove @officialpapa-johns @Amaxn @dxncingthroughlife @myfictionalobsessions  @screw-u-vaanu @kittidot @chichiguitarist123 @myfictionalobsessions @Azibear @amelia-w @lilithlibrxa @litghoe @priyas-tiddies @daisybarks @ajs-wife
At this point this post is just a directory of the LITG fandom lmfao but genuinely. Thank every single one of you. 2020 was hard as shit, but I’ve been hyperfixated on LITG for like a year and I treasure your content sm.

Could I please ask these for the Original Trilogy? ✨
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most)
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)
poor little meow meow (problematic/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave)
-jess 💕
omg ofc!!! the original source of wonder and joy 🥰
blorbo (fave): oh my sweet princess leia. leia the brave emissary, leia who lied in the face of death, leia who watched her planet be utterly destroyed and still found it in her to be kind. leia who was cruel when necessary - leia who earned the title huttslayer. my space princess forever.
scrimblo bimblo (underrated fave): oof i love red squadron man - wedge antilles and biggs darklighter have got to tie for my favorite underrated guys. ik wedge is popular in the overall fandom, but i feel like i don't see much for him on tumblr, and he deserves more! he's an icon! and biggs, my man...gone too soon. love you mustache man.
poor little meow meow ("problematic" fave): oh i am gonna say LANDO CALRISSIAN. people act like han (who i also love, don't get it twisted) didn't show up with one of the faces of the rebellion and ask lando to put his entire city in danger. i'm not saying it's excusable - doing the right thing is hard and takes sacrifice. but lando makes up for his actions in the end while still protecting his people as best he can, and i think he deserves more credit than he's given for that. plus billy dee williams...my god that man's voice has a grip on me. leia you may have been right to not trust lando but i simply would not have been as strong.

BnHA/MHA Chapter 281
Initial reaction: Oh wow. That was literal art. If MVA didn't make you have sympathy for Shigaraki then this chapter definitely did.
Characters this chapter
Mydoria: Fighting through this like a champ. His sudden control over black whip is really fucking helpful, but do they have enough firepower to end Shigaraki?
Endeavour: Don't just stand there beat his ass or something.
Aizawa: 👀👀 I'm gonna leave that there.
Nana: ik it's just a flashback, but I really hope we get it see more of her. Nana is just built different yaknow. She made a huge ass sacrifice to keep her kid safe and she forever has my respect for that.
Shigaraki: He's going nuts, but he's thinking. There's no way his body will hold up for much longer so he's trying to end the battle asap. Also he's doing all of this while having a mental breakdown that's king shit.
Gran Torino: Damn man. This is deep. I'm just gonna say he didn't deserve this. No one in this story deservers things to be going this way pls Eri rewind the whole world.
Bakugo: Blast shiggy or something please he can't kill anymore people I'm crying.
Overall
Rating: 10/10. Our first 10/10 yes I know. This chapter has you sobbin and cluthing your purse while sitting down to write an analysis. That's how good this is. It brings the action and devastating moments which shonen is known for, but the brains behind this is chapter is outstanding.
This arc: Still making our way down. Shigaraki is trying to end this fight before he loses himself so things are on track to end sooner than later.
The Future
This arc: Another pro-hero falls as Shigaraki continues to go batshit crazy and he's gunning for Aizawa right now. I don't see his plan going smoothly so something else will happen and we have no clue what that is.
RIP but...: I'm going to start this off by saying Gran Torino was never one of my favorite characters, but his death was disheartening. F for him. Now we're going to get controversial. Gran Torino's death was necessary. It was necessary for the storyline in general (it's a war someone needs to die) and for Mydoria as a character. I said something like this about Aizawa a while back. Most people don't want to admit this, but Mydoria has been stagnant as far as character development goes for a while now. He has not had anything push him to look at things differently, to be better and move towards becoming a hero at heart. This death is going to do just that. It's a tragic way for him to develop, but it's typical shonen. Naruto with Jiraiya, Tanjiro with Ryngoku, Rin with Father Fujimoto, the list goes on. In the end this is going to result in a better Mydoria which is great because we're following his story. The future holds greatness guys.
Predictions??
Sacrifice: Shigaraki threw the fucking bullet Oh. My. God. Of course he's aiming for Aizawa because that's the only thing preventing him from ending this battle in 2 seconds. But of course it also can't hit Aizawa because Shigaraki would end the battle in 2 seconds. Get what I'm saying? Someone's going to have to intervene. It's up in the air if they'll deflect the bullet, or take it. My bet's are on Bakugo because he wasn't shown in the last few panels so we don't know where hes located in relation to Aizawa and the bullet. Some have thought of a double sacrifice where Mydoria manages to try and intercept the bullet, but Bakugo sees this and remembers what Gran Torino said about OFA so he jumps in instead. I would really like that because it would make for some badassery. Imagine Mydoria about to blow the bullet away with his finger technique, but just as he's about to flick his fingers Bakugo comes into the frame. Bakugo takes the bullet directly into his chest, saving Mydoria from the possibility of losing the quirk that will save the world and defeat Shigaraki for good. One For All.
Shoto FINALLY!: So if the quirk bullet theory is right and it does end up hitting someone, the heros on the battlefield currently are fucked. They've already lost one pro-hero, losing another would make facing Shigaraki literally impossible. Unless Deku activates all 10 of his quirks right now, they're going to need some back up. Idk anyone else that could be more helpful right now than Shoto. He has been missing for almost this entire arc and if anything happens to Endeavour there's no way he can miss it. So I'm gonna say we'll see Icy Hot soon. Next two or three chapters soon.
Extra
This is my first time writing my analysis before actually reading the chapter and basing it off of Tumblr content, but don't worry I've read almost everything under the tag. I think I have a good idea of the chapter.
I'm really disappointed with the fandom after the drop of this chapter. So many people have shown their ass at this time. Upsetting.

It s one of dos days I regret havin Ni as me son... All jokes aside, he just called them out which s rude. They were jokin n he said "lemme ruin them on here, it s not like me fans gonna ruin them (I deleted Twitter so idk but they most probably did)". Some times he acts like da CEO of Twitter, which s annoyin af. Yeah maybe they couldn't make it sound like a joke as much as they wanted but him makin them feel dis bad s unacceptable. He s still angry at da pap pics I guess n just yell on Twitter
listen...ive literally been off this site for days but the first thing I come up to when I log in is drama? when tf it's gonna end. look, people can have their own opinion on this shit but to me personally it's SO annoying to see him searching his name to find the dumbest tweets to respond to when he's not even tagged like the point of it?? yeah he said hes trying to "help people" understand not to judge him just cuz he's a famous person but all this time, did that even work? or just made a whole cringe show for everyone in the fandom. oh, not to mention how his defense squad would ruin that person's whole character and make them delete which has happened before; which despite all the stupidness I don't think it's fair to fuck up someone's life like that over a screen and make them scared of going online. it doesn't matter if a hundred fans call that person out but the second the celeb reacts to it... get a grip please. (I'm talking about tweets and jokes like today tho, ik how some other people are SO mean but even responding to them...doesn't change a thing.)
idk man, I'm not a celeb, but I do know that being a famous face has it cons with it. u can't just try to MAKE people not say shit about you or not get involved with your personal life. (yeah i wished but not everything is candies and rainbows, is it?) also I do think if he really wants to stop all these stuff the only way is for him to just ignore and stop searching his name up. do I have to mention that it clearly hurts his own feelings as well? like maybe we don't know him at all but I think it is obvious, simply by the way that he's just so obssesed with making controversy, call them out on a daily basis cuz it hurt him the second he saw that specific tweet when he was scrolling carefully throw his own name tag.
all I'm saying is that for him to actually make an effect on this topic of "ordinary people shouldn't judge famous people" is that instead of ranting on twitter (0 points to it) and make everyone's day shitty, he could SIMPLY do:
an IG live, a podcast, IG story, an interview with an expert, etc. all on this topic which are easy to do for him since he's done em all with different topics that maybe weren't even as triggering as this one is for him. in this essay I will-

The 100 Aesthetic/Preferences Tag
Tagged by: @blodreina-noumou ty babe!!
This is a tag game about AESTHETICS, not content, plot, characterization, etc. Just keep that in mind.
Rank the seasons from favorite to least favorite:
2 > 1 > 3 > 5 > 4 (me, petty: *won’t even put 6 on the ranking*)
2 - I think 2 has Octavia’s best look, very ‘Grounder In Training’ which was really really cute lol. Then there was the beginning of Clarke’s desent into grime, from pristine princess to getting weighed down with the dirt of her own emotions and percieved obligations and I liked to see it.
1 - everyone is clean and baby-faced and it reminds me of a simpler time. Was a fan of guard!Bellamy hair gel and all, it really brought out the douche in him. This season has my favourite Raven (she GLOWS) and Clarke Sky Babe looks. Jasper’s goggles. Dropship site was iconic.
3 - I appreciated the grimy aesthetic of season three because they really committed to the Goin’ Thru It.
The drastic shift in Jasper’s look was something I really liked. His boyish features are gone and now merely a ghost of innocence remains, in it’s place we have a more mature, hardened demeanor in the form of facial hair and a lack of cute, floppy hairstyle.
5 - we got the spacekru ‘clan’ look! In previous seasons we’ve seen clans have markers indicating who they belong to, Trikru with their earthy colours and wearing leaves, Azgeda with their furs and white paints, and Floukru with their ocean imagery, and now we see the survivors of apocalypse in their bluish-grey space tones styled in a way that makes it absolutely clear they’re all apart of the same group. We see a new headscarf for Emori, still very much herself but refashioned. And no glove! She’s completely comfortable with her new family. The scarf was very unique to her character so someone tell me why after all this they completely threw it out for season 6? Oh yeah it’s because season 6 isn’t real, it didn’t happen, I do Not See It.
All the boys glo-ed up. Loved that. All the girls started wearing their hair looser, Raven has her two strands sneaking out of her signature ponytail- she still very much looks like ‘Raven’ but everyone just in general looks more relaxed, like they’ve had a breather. In terms of the world, I loved the stark differences in the three main locations, and every one of them felt haunting but in different ways. Ghost lands. The wasteland of 5 was almost reminicent of the desert back in season 2, now devistated. The bunker was suffocating and chilling. The valley felt weirdly sinister in all it’s colours.
4 - eventually everyone looked peak skaikru, no longer delinquents in their various multi-coloured bomber jackets, marking their youth, but fully-fledged members of their group. I liked the way s4 almost paralleled s1 in look, they’re all wearing the same colours, but while they are all technically clean, they still look less presentable and exhausted compared to S1. Bellamy, again, like in season 1, is in his guard uniform but it’s more an upgraded and more mature version. In a way it looked like we came full circle. And Clarke and Octavia both going back to a more skaigirl hairstyle was the cherry on top. Luna’s costumes are probably my favourites on the entire show. I have no idea how we went from costumes of such intricasy and consistency to...’what in the name of halloween store clearance sale is that?’ in season 6.
6 - sanctum’s costumes were literally so ugly i don’t even wanna talk about it please don’t make me do it...
Tumblr media
ok i go
1) Controversial ik but Emori’s Prime dress missed the mark. I liked the addition of the cape, but, again, it was so bare otherwise. There was no embroidery, no jewels, and the accessories they did give her were clunky and looked cheap. It looked too prom night. She was supposed to be royalty. And she didn’t look like it at all.
2) Absolutely hated the fact they put a pound of makeup on each of the space sisters’ faces. And the fact they gave them all unnaturally curled hair. Meanwhile Clarke and Octavia still somewhat look natural and ordinary so...what’s going on? And why?
Rank Clarke’s hair each season from best to worst:
1 > 6 > 2 > 4 > 5 > 3
some thoughts;
Not a fan of her season 4 hair, and i can’t articulate my dislike very well but why’d her roots get so dark? She never had dark roots in season 1, this character is a natural blonde, and yet over the seasons they became progressively darker and tbh? It started to irritated me. Also I don’t think the cut framed her face quite right? SOMETHING okay? Something about it......
Rank Bellamy’s hair/beard each season from best to worst:
3 > 1,2,4,6 < 5
The real debate: Bellamy in the blue shirt or the tan?
They both look the same to me. lol. Blue.
Clarke’s blue dress or pink dress?
Neither. Both weren’t very good looking. If you were holding me at gun point I’d say blue, but the cut did the opposite of help. And if they were gonna have a moment where Clarke, oblivious to her own *ethereal beauty* and not like the other girls, walks down the stairs ready to throw her hair into a messy bun and get sold to One Direction, they could’ve at least put her in a more suitable dress. Something a bit more glamourous, sophisticated, something to justify the 10 people in the room staring up at her in awe. It’s such a casual, tasteless dress? And she isn’t even wearing shoes? She isn’t wearing anything shiny, she didn’t do anything to her hair. We saw what other dresses and accessories Delilah had in her closet, the yellow and pink soft-flowing, feminine classy dresses and the pretty headwear she wore in her own short time in the season. But you give Clarke, your protagonist, that unflattering one? One that she so clearly hastily threw on and headed out in? She got two outfit changes, while none of the other main girls got any at all, and they were both ugly LIKE what was even the point?
Favorite Raven season: Her season 1 baby face just cannot be beat, she looks beautiful. And I only use that word very particularly.
Raven’s ark vest or red bomber jacket?
how about that red popper shirt from season 4
Raven’s ponytail or her s6 look?
Ponytail. It’s Raven. S6 look betrayed what her character was about.
Favorite Octavia season: 2! I love the baby grounder look.
Octavia’s hair in s2 (the braids) or s4 (the ponytail)?
The braids just because they were more interesting to look at.
Blodreina or Skairipa?
Blodreina. Like I said somewhere up there ^ that whole costume was a breath of fresh air.
Favorite Murphy season: S5!
Murphy with long hair or short hair?
I appreciated the rat boy look while it lasted, but the short hair makes him look good, while his other hairstyles pretty much were just there to contribute to the climate of his character.
Favorite Monty season: 5. Bout time they made him look grown. He’s actually a pretty ruthless and passive aggressive kid, the fact he looked so sweet in previous seasons really tricked a lot of the fanbase into believing he was some tiny cinnamon roll.
Favorite overall episode: I’m awful at seperating episodes. I just can’t do it lol
Favorite scene of all time: I just don’t have the best memory for these things. I quite liked the reveal of Blodreina, the transition is takes from Cooper in the very first arena fight to current day, and it switches from blue to red, and slowly reveals Blodreina. The music change gave me chills. Everything about the scene just felt really dark and eery. I was uncomfortable. And I loved it.
Biggest wish for s7: Visually/aesthetically, decide which style you’re going for. I’ve said this before somewhere but Sanctum was a confusing mess of sci-fi, royal, prom night, and divergent amity. Pick one and get back to me.
I want a better designed world. I want all the set and costume designers to actually communicate and work together to make the world look like something professional and not a cosplay convention on a cheap set with a big paper mache castle.
Also I’d love for all the girls to not be all dolled-up. Give Raven her ponytail back, I’ll even settle for the low pony. Give Emori her headscarf back. And go get them all some face wipes. Maybe give someone other than Clarke an oppurtunity to wear something besides their murder gear. And maybe make that something actually good looking. Put some effort in. Sheesh.
I don’t follow many people and most of the ones I do are hibernating lol. I fully encourage someone to steal this. But in the meantime: @johnmurphysreddit @awesomenell65

since ghost wants a defending post i will also make one
hi! as yall seem to commonly know me since it was my user before i changed it, im star child. im that overgrown cow that's smearing names and causing drama whats up
i would be a mature adult and DM you ghost but honestly i know you'd probably just spend ages trying to defend yourself fruitlessly and also i have you blocked so whatever
here's the screenshots i have available (sent to me by very kind users in the chat who felt i should know what was being said after i left) and my comments to go along with it
some background: this discussion was happening in a channel called 'real-images'. a place where you would not expect a conversation about docking to be taking place.
i clicked into this channel to see what was happening and as you know, with discord, it automatically puts you on the oldest unread message when you click into that chat. i was greeted by conversations about cropping and docking - choke chains may have been mentioned, im unsure, because as soon as i saw the conversation i began to feel sick and so clicked out without skimming through the convo.
i went into 'questions' and asked if they had a way of requesting certain topics to be tagged and that's pretty much where this begins.
Tumblr media
first i'd like to say 'don't enter the channel' hey ghost, how was i supposed to know that clicking into a channel to share pictures would lead to me walking into a conversation about my trigger? are you really going to blame me for that, huh?
second, this was me literally asking slash 'speaking up' about the topic. why was there any need to get this passive aggressive over it? i put in a request. you could have said yes. you could have said no. you could have said 'sorry we can't blacklist it but we'll try to ask people to spoil it or put a warning'. instead you told me to 'go off' and put :) which yeah we all know what that emoji means you weren't being friendly or subtle
Tumblr media
we all know neons a big advocate for choke chains and shock collars as well as whole host of other mistreating animals. i'll make a second submission on that if people care but neons animal care? whack. bro i hope you grow up and learn to look after your pets.
anyway, mods please tell me why neon was allowed to get involved and say 'they just let their opinions get the better of them and speak out of turn' to be greeted with agreements and being told it was fine when it really wasn't fine.
Spooky Rabbit, i dont know who you are but you're cool. you made me a little less upset but it was a little too late bud
Tumblr media
it's really nice how this convenient controversial chat only popped up after i started talking about the way i was treated in another chat huh. a whole half hour later when i'd already posted screenshots and vented and let people know what happened. love the damage control here
anyway
'speak up' once again yeah i did that and look where it got us all, Joke
Tumblr media
something said to me outside of cottontails but this is in retaliation to the 'why didnt you speak up earlier' other than the simple fact i wasnt there lol. neon always likes to talk about these nasty little dog topics. if i'd butted into a convo i hadnt been a part of previously and said 'can we not discuss this?' i'd love to bet a whole 25$ that ghost would've told me to just mute the channel, or neon would've ignored me or told me to "just not argue uwu". either way y'all were going to get angry at me for my trigger.
Tumblr media
'don't want to butt in with my opinion but-' neon all you ever literally do is butt into conversations its practically your only personality trait other than mistreating ur animals lol. 'made things difficult' 'i'm vocal about my opinions' and then telling me to shut up about mine? okay if you say so.
Adam, 'we can't blacklist every topic users find uncomfortable' I'd like to point out again that a literal trigger is something very different to being uncomfortable! and on top of that it wasn't like i was asking you to trigger tag mentions of a popular character, or a food, or a language, or a colour. i was asking you to trigger tag a very controversial conversation centered around cropping, docking, and choke chains. an extremely heavy topic. not a minor inconvenience.
Tumblr media
cool cool yall were making fun of ppl with triggers. nice
Tumblr media
from a PM from cinna after i PM'd her about transfering my rabbit out of species - no cinna, they weren't blunt, they were just mean. simple as.
ik ppl dont wanna read text walls so this is mostly at ghost who claims im a harrasser and an abuser because i dont like neon using choke chains and shock collars
oh!! also conviently gonna add that "come for our side of the story" - you know one of your staff did that right? they went to a species owner of a species im involved in and tried to get me banned for causing drama? but didnt give any information or screenshots, and i had to provide them all to the owner to make sure the whole story was out? convenient how you just forget screenshots when they make you look bad.
this is long so
tl;dr ghost was p nasty abt the convo. they made fun of people being sensitive. they told me my trigger was a minor inconvenience and not important enough to tag. they only added a controversial topic after i kicked off because they didnt want their asses in trouble. neon got involved and isnt even staff so idk why they did.
anyway that's the news from your local drama queen, im gonna go chew on some grass now moo moo bitch

Regarding Ike & Soren’s Sexuality
I’m a little bored and I’m feeling pretty talkative and advocative right now so I’m gonna try and lay to rest an extremely bitter and long-lived shipping battle, and also throw my own opinion into the ring about Ike/Soren and their individual sexualities as characters, just for fun and because hey opinions, everyone has one!! So first I’ll have a section regarding why the controversy is unneeded, and then what my personal feelings on the ship are.
First of all, if you haven’t read amielleon’s write-up on Ike’s sexuality, I highly recommend you do so, link right here (warning, it’s long).:
https://amielleon.dreamwidth.org/237826.html
You should read it if you’re interested, because I can tell you for a fact what I’m about to say isn’t going to amount to anything this person has said. It is a near perfect, un-biased essay on the Ike/Soren controversy and how to solve it. But nevertheless again I feel like talking so I’m gonna try re-iterate some of their points anyway.
My unbiased take on the ship:
They’re shipping characters from a video game! It doesn’t matter!! There are so many more things that are better to worry about, world hunger, clean water, teacher salaries, etc., and you’re worried about some anime fuck being gay or not gay?? Go outside and live a little.
Ha... sorry I got carried away there. Anyway like I said, it shouldn’t matter so much to you. Ike is my favorite fictional character of all time, and I don’t ever mind at all when I see people ship Ike/Soren, Ike/Elincia, Ike/Ranulf, etc., you know why? Because people can ship what they want, unless its morally wrong. It makes them happy, and you can’t take that happiness away from them with your opinion. It’s rude and it likely won’t help out either one of you in the situation.
There’s a lot of evidence for both sides of the argument, usually enough for either sides to reign victorious in an argument, to which then it usually comes down to one’s argumentative skills. (I won’t bother listing all of the evidence for both sides, you can check the link above for that.) The fact of the matter is the games make Ike and Soren’s canonical relationship out to be very vague because of the amount of evidence for both sides. It’s a problem that isn’t meant to be solved, and sometimes that’s ok. The dialogue in FE9 and FE10 are so vague that it can be interpreted either way. In a sense, I think this is great. It allows for everyone to have their own personal fun with the ship and have it still be convincing, and with that said I think it’s time for me to throw my hat into the ring.
My biased take on the ship (in other words, my opinion, which is by no means fact):
I don’t think Ike thinks about sexual identities or relationships, and I think Soren is basically Ike-sexual.
Soren:
Two quotes from Soren in particular make me think this way. One is Ike’s death quote in Radiant Dawn: “Ike... Please live... Even if all the cities burn, and the seas swallow Tellius... You mustn't die... Not you...” and the last line in the Japanese version of Ike and Soren’s support in Path of Radiance, which I can’t seem to find the quote for right now, but it was something along the lines of him saying Ike is the only one who is special to him. Soren has had some pretty traumatic experiences as a child (if you haven’t already find an article on his backstory regarding his near starvation and parental abuse.) And all of these experiences went away when Ike and Greil found him and offered him food and shelter. Ike is a savior to Soren, nearly a deity. I think his trauma was so hard on him that he developed some sort of savior complex to him, and has therefore shut everyone out in his life, save for Ike, which explains his antisocial behavior. His trauma is something very serious, and if it were to happen in real life, I think his behavior in the game isn’t too far off to what would actually happen. I think some people take his trauma too lightly and see Soren as an overall good person, without thinking about how much his trauma would realistically affect him. I actually think Soren is a very tragic character, and while he is aligned with the good guys, I think he’s only with the mercenaries because of Ike. He lashes out against his own comrades, particularly laguz in FE9, and even shows only small signs of improvement with his racism in FE10. I think if Ike didn’t exist and Soren somehow survived his childhood, he’d become a villain and an outlaw, using his magic to retaliate against those who rejected him for his brand.
To conclude, Soren has a deep and complicated character that is explored plenty throughout FE9 and FE10, but in my opinion at the core of this character is his trauma, and Ike is involved in this trauma. He develops tragically undying love and devotion to Ike on almost a terrifying level because of his trauma, and it becomes even more tragic as Ike is unable to feel the same way.
Ike:
The short way of me explaining Ike’s sexuality his that he’s married to the job. In other words, being a mercenary. No, I’m not saying he’s asexual, I just don’t think he thinks about it at all. He just doesn’t care enough. His whole character revolves around him being a blunt and tireless warrior, who appreciates a good fight and challenge, but yet doesn’t love bringing up a sword in times of war. His job and lifestyle leaves little to no time for romance, and Ike has seen evidence of this in the case of his parents, Greil and Elena, as Greil eventually kills Elena, indirectly because of Greil’s life as a warrior. He’s always thinking about the next fight over romance, which is evident in the base conversation in FE10 when Ike almost pretends to romanticize the infatuated Aimee just to get a discount on war supplies.
In the iconic scene in FE10 where Ike offers a shoulder to cry on for Soren, I believe this is Ike simply sharing pain with someone. Ike has lost his parents to war, and has therefore suffered trauma similarly to Soren, but not nearly to as strong of a degree. I mean heck, this is war! Realistically speaking, some tears are gonna be shed at any given point, whether the characters want to or not, so just because Ike started getting all touchy-feely when Soren started bawling doesn’t mean he’s in love with Soren. It’s war, and people have to look out for each other during war. There’s also Ike’s paired ending with Soren in which they both disband the mercenaries and leave off on their own. I believe Ike, being the thrill-seeking warrior he his, went off to find a new challenge, and took Soren with him, not because they were on their honeymoon or something, but because it was his only option as Soren’s friend. Soren has seen and lived with too much to go back to living on his own, and his fixation on Ike doesn’t help much either. Ike knows this, and even though he knows Soren has huge glaring flaws and permanent trauma, Ike believes in giving everyone an equal chance at happiness life, so that no one suffers the same way he did. He fights for his friends after all! If Soren staying with Ike is enough to make Soren happy, then I’m sure Ike was happy to have him tag along.
I like to headcannon that over many years Ike managed to turn Soren into a much better person as he became wiser and older, maybe kinda like a mentor/older brother dynamic. But of course we all know because of his brand, Soren would live longer than Ike and would eventually have to live by his teachings alone, which I think makes for a great story of redemption.
To conclude, Ike/Soren has been a really fragile ship for nearly a decade, even though it really shouldn’t be. I can understand why some people see Ike/Soren as canon (I mean out of context, that crying cutscene is pretty darn gay lol), and I can see why other people don’t. However as fact, as apposed to Marth/Caeda, Ike/Soren isn’t canon. But however (again), nothing needs to be canon!! You can ship what you want, and think what you want about these characters, whatever makes you happy!! I know I feel happy after writing this post and sharing my thoughts on the ship, and I hope you feel happy as well. Happy happy happy. Thanks for reading.

The Weekend Warrior  - BLOODSHOT, THE HUNT, I STILL BELIEVE and more!
Since this is gonna be a pretty busy weekend with four … oops, make that three wide releases, I’m just gonna get right into it, and discuss last weekend’s movies down below. Cool?
Of the three new releases, it’s likely that all three of them will make somewhere between $10 and 20 million, although I could see a couple of them ending up on the lower side of that number. All of them have some intriguing pluses and minuses.
Up until last weekend, the STXfilms family action-comedy MY SPY, starring former WWE wrestler (and soon-to-be WWE Hall of Fame inductee) David Bautista, was being dumped on this weekend after being delayed numerous times. This past Saturday it was moved again… to April 17, so one less movie to write about this week… yay!
Tumblr media
First up is the very first movie based on a Valiant Comics character as BLOODSHOT (Sony) comes to theaters with none other than Vin Diesel playing soldier Roy Garrison, who has been brought back to life using power-enhancing nanotech that turns him into an assassin for the RST Corporation, led by Guy Pearce.
Directed by David Wilson, co-founder of Blur Studios with Deadpooldirector Tim Miller, the movie also stars Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver), Sam Heughan from Outlander, and Toby Kebbell from lots of stuff, including the “Planet of the Apes” movies (he performance-captured the villainous Koba), and yes, Kebbell was also Victor Doom in the most recent Fantastic Four movie.
This is one of the weekend’s more interesting offerings, firstly because it’s the second comic book movie of the year (if you don’t include Sonic the Hedgehog), but because as I said above, this is the first movie based on a Valiant Comics property. Valiant was founded by former Marvel Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter in 1989, beginning by reviving and updating a number of popular Gold Key characters like Magnus, Robot Fighterand Solar, Man of the Atom.  Bloodshot was created in 1992 by Valiant co-founder Bob Layton along with Kevin Van Hook and artist Don Perlin, and the character became quite popular while going through several incarnations. It wasn’t until 2005 when a group of entrepeneurs, including Dinesh Shamdasani, bought the rights to the Valiant properties where things started moving forward with a relaunch of Valiant Comics in 2012 as well as development on a number of movies including BloodshotGetting Vin Diesel on board helped move the project forward as Diesel had revived popularity due to returning to the Fast and Furious franchise.
Obviously, the success of Bloodshot relies entirely on Diesel and his popularity, although his movies outside the “Fast and Furious” ones haven’t exactly made big waves. Sure, he’s had a few other franchises like the Riddick character originated in 2000’s Pitch Black with director David Twohy, but the 2013 Riddick only made $42 million, just a little more than the first movie. There’s also the Xander Cage character Diesel created for 2002’s xXx, just a year after the original The Fast and the Furious.
Diesel’s return to that character in 2017 with xXx: The Return of Xander Cage did just slightly better than Riddick four years earlier. The point is that Diesel just hasn’t been able to sell other characters which brings us to 2015’s The Last Witch Hunter, an attempt by Diesel to introduce a new character to his fans, and that opened with just $10.8 million.
Granted, I’m not sure that there are that many Bloodshot and Valiant fans compared to the comics from Warners and DC, and even with Neal Moritz’s production company (which just had a hit with that aforementioned Sonic movie) behind Bloodshot, I’m not sure it will get fans excited, especially with its more cerebral take on superheroics.
I’d like to be more excited about the movie, but opening this weekend against The Hunt (see below) and Blumhouse’s The Invisible Man still doing decent business, I just don’t see this opening north of $15 million. Hopefully I’m wrong, as I would truly like to see more Valiant movies.
My Review of Bloodshot

The movie that might offer the biggest competition for Bloodshot and possibly could sideline it and maybe even beat it this weekend is THE HUNT, the latest film from Blumhouse’s deal with Universal. The movie was originally supposed to be released last September but was delayed due to the controversial content. On the surface, The Hunt, directed by Craig Zobel (Compliance) is about a group of rich people that are hunting a group of “deplorables,” an interesting premise written by Damon Lindelof and Nick Cuse (son of Lost co-creator Carlton Cuse), who have found success together with HBO’s The Leftovers and Watchmen.
The movie stars Betty Gilpin from Netflix’s "Glow,” Ike Barinholtz from various comedies and even Glen Howerton from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” It also stars Emma Roberts, who has done a lot of genre stuff, and two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank, who hasn’t. It’s definitely an interesting cast but like many horror movies, this one is more about its premise and whether it interests moviegoers.
The problem I see in The Hunt is that it’s so political in terms of being a battle between liberals and conservatives that might just be too on point with what people get from watching CNN or other 24-hours news cycles, so why would they want to see this brought into their entertainment? Barinholtz should definitely know this as his politically-tinged directorial debut The Oath, which only made $401,000 a few years back despite an attempt by distributor Roadside Attractions to open it wider than the 300 theaters it got.
The Hunt may have the advantage of opening on Friday the 13thwhere many moviegoers like going to see horror movies, but why would they go see this over Blumhouse’s other offering, The Invisible Man, which has been much better received?
We’ll see how the reviews go – you can read mine below--but the fact this was delayed and then put into this weekend less than a month back didn’t give Universal much time to market it, and the best they’ve been able to do is try to build on the controversy. In any other instance, I could see this making $15 million or more, but because of the circumstances that surround this movie’s tougher sell, it will probably make somewhere between $10 and 12 million.
Mini-Review: To say that it’s difficult to talk about The Hunt without potentially spoiling everything that makes it such a surprising and clever premise would be a huge understatement. What writers Damon Lindelof and Nick Cuse have done along with director Craig Zobel (Compliance) is an amazing twist on Richard Connell’s “The Most Dangerous Game” pulled writhing and screaming into the country’s current political climate. That last bit might decide who loves and who absolutely loathes this movie, but there’s no question that everyone will have an opinion, either good or bad, with few able to be outright indifferent about the movie.
The basic premise, if you hadn’t heard or seen any marketing, is that a group of very wealthy people have kidnapped a group of people with plans to hunt them down. Before we get to the hunted, we see texts between a few of the hunters talking about “the hunt,” “the manor” and their upcoming (seemingly annual) plans. We then meet  few of them in person on a private jet to “the manor” before we meet the “contestants,” a group of a dozen individuals seemingly from disparate backgrounds, many of whom are quickly picked off in exceedingly gory ways.
The key player on the side of the hunted is Betty (“Glow”) Gilpin’s Crystal, a Southern woman seemingly with a military background who seems to be up to the task of fighting back more than some of the others in the group.
That’s all I’m gonna say about the general plot and premise because where The Hunt excels is in the number of twists it throws at the viewer. That’s actually something I realized that I liked about Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island on a recent rewatch in that it seems like a simple enough premise but there are enough twists and surprises that it keeps you guessing, and that’s the same with The Hunt.
The thing about The Hunt is that I don’t see it so much as horror but as violent political satire because the fact that the hunters and hunted come from opposite sides of the political aisle and there is no clear “side,” so to speak. In that sense, it reminds me a bit of Ike Barinholtz’s own directorial debut The Oathwhere it’s snarky and sardonic humor though in this case with more action and violence. The hunters are extremely left-leaning liberals always trying to be conscientious to social justice and equality… but also wantonly killing people, so no heroes there. And the hunted aren’t politically correct and are labelled as “deplorables” although even the most liberal viewer might find themselves rooting for them.
What’s interesting is that this premise is shared somewhat by the recent Brazilian drama Bacurau, but I generally like how The Hunt handles things, more because I somewhat thought I knew what to expect going in with the latter and only partially was correct.
While Gilpin is fantastic throughout, it’s when she finally confronts Hilary Swank in the film’s big climax where you realize that the filmmakers were building up to something quite amazing. Unfortunately, few of the other actors get enough screen time to please any of their fans.
There’s no question that The Hunt won’t be for everyone, and I wish I could discuss it at further length in terms of which parts might click with viewers and which might lose them completely. Either way, it’s worth a look just by how daring it is for a studio film in these times when everyone is on edge, ready to be outraged about anything and everything.

The third offering this weekend, which stands a good chance at doing even better than the other two movies above is the faith-based drama I STILL BELIEVE (Lionsgate), which stars the popular K.J. Apa from the CW show Riverdaleand Britt Robertson, who is just a great up and coming actor who actually starred opposite George Clooney in another Lindelof-penned movie, Disney’s Tomorrowland. Robertson also starred in the attempted young adult sci-fi romance The Space Between Us a few years back before shifting to television, including Netflix’s Girlboss.
The movie is based on the real-life story of country singer Jeremy Camp (played by Apa), who built his career around Christian music and the faith he relied upon after his young wife (played by Robertson) was diagnosed with cancer. Camp won five gospel awards and received a number of music nominations but his title song “I Still Believe” from his 2004 debut album was popular enough that it got the attention of the filmmaking Erwin Brothers, Andrew and Jon, who had a bit hit with I Can Only Imagine, which grossed an astounding $83 million after a $17.1 million opening in March 2018. Their earlier film Woodlawn didn’t do as well, making just $14.3 million total, but clearly, Lionsgate are full behind the filmmakers behind their 2018 faith-based hit and hoping I Still Believe can bring in the same sized audience.
Not really being in tune with the Christian audiences, it’s hard for me to judge how the marketing is being received, as I personally haven’t seen a single commercial, but I have to imagine the popularity of Camp and Apa as the lead on Riverdale should be enough for the movie to bring in $13 to 15 million or maybe even more for a strong second place. The movie will screen for regional critics outside New York and L.A. since those blue state cities are clearly filled with agnostic heathens who won’t give the movie a chance, but I’m not sure reviews will make much difference either way.
Onward shouldn’t have a problem holding onto a lead in the top 10 with over $20 million despite the weaker than expected opening, and Ben Affleck’s The Way Back should hold on decently but still end up pushed out of the top 5 by new movies. We’ll have to see how either of them fare in the long run especially with next week’s A Quiet Place Part 2. There’s also the matter of the panic around the country about the corona virus, so we’ll see if that’s still in effect. Otherwise, I Still Believehas the strongest chances at besting both Bloodshotand The Hunt, which will likely be cannibalizing each other’s business.
This week’s Top 10 should look something like this…
1. Onward (Disney-Pixar) - $24.5 million -38%
2. I Still Believe (Lionsgate) - $13 million N/A (down $1 million)*
3. Bloodshot (Sony) - $12.5 million N/A (down $1.5 million)*
4. The Hunt (Universal) - $10.5 million N/A (down .5 million)*
5. The Invisible Man (Universal) - $8.5 million -44%
6. The Way Back (Warner Bros.) - $5.2 million -37%
7. Sonic the Hedgehog (Paramount) - $4.3 million -44%
8. The Call of the Wild (20th Century) - $4 million -41%
9. Emma. (Focus Features) - $2.9 million -40%
10. Bad Boys for Life (Sony) - $2 million -35%
*UPDATE: We’re clearly in new and strange times with the few week’s movies being postponed, delayed and maybe some eventually cancelled, but we saw that this weekend as many of the new movies lost theater counts from the estimates earlier in the week with Bloodshot not even getting 3,000 theaters. And expect it to get worse when theaters start shutting down which may even happen this weekend
LIMITED RELEASES
Tumblr media
Due to a last minute scheduling change, this week’s “FEATURED FILM” is now going to Eliza Hittman’s fantastic drama NEVER RARELY SOMETIMES ALWAYS (Focus Features), a smaller indie that might have a difficult to remember title, but it’s a title you’ll never mess up after seeing it in context in the film.  It stars young newcomers Sidney Flanigan and Talia Ryder, as Autumn and her cousin Skylar, who travel from Pennsylvania into New York City when the former gets an unwanted pregnancy and has to get an abortion away from her judgmental community. This really was a riveting film with a very simple premise that’s driven by the performances of the two young actors. It reminded me of two other indies, Lodge Kerrigan’s 2004 film Keane, starring Damian Lewis and Abigail Breslin, which also takes place at the Port Authority where much of NRSA takes place, and Julia Loktev’s Day Night Day Night, which similarly follows the journey of a teen girl who is sent into Times Square as a suicide bomber.  Like I said, it begins as a very simple tale but watching the two young girls having to deal with being in New York with no money really makes it quite a heartbreaking journey to watch. HIttman finds a way to tell this story sans pathos and the drama always comes from a real place.
Sally Potter returns with her new movie THE ROADS NOT TAKEN (Bleecker Street), a character drama starring Javier Bardem and Elle Fanning as father and daughter, Fanning playing Molly, a young woman who needs to check in on her father Leo, who is suffering from some form of Alzheimer’s or dementia – it’s never made clear what is going on with him – but it leaves him speechless with limited mobility and therefore a difficult person to manage for Molly.  As we watch her trying to bring him to routine dentist and eye doctor visits, the film flashes back to Leo’s past with his early love Dolores, played by Salma Hayek, and later in life. I have to be honest that I’m not 100% sure I understood what was going on since as with much of Potter’s work, its very arty, relying less on narrative or storytelling than mood and tone, but I did love Bardem and Fanning’s performance, and there’s a small appearance by Laura Linney as Molly’s mother that’s also great. So yeah, apparently, this is the year that I not only begin to appreciate Kelly Reichardt (with her current film First Cow) but also Sally Potter. I was particularly impressed with the film’s score and only realized with this film that Potter always does the music for her films.
Inside the Rain (Act 13/Killer Films) is a really interesting feature directorial debut from Aaron Fisher, in which he plays college film student Benjamin Glass, who suffers from ADHD, OCD and borderline personality disorders and is also bipolar, referring to himself as “recklessly extravagant.” When his illnesses lead to a possible drug overdose, the dean of the college decides to give Ben the boot, but he decides to use his filmmaking skills to make a film to fight the dean’s decision. Along the way, he meets a sex worker (Ellen Toland) who he convinces to be in his movie although he starts developing a crush on her. What’s interesting about Fisher’s film is that a lot of it is based on personal stories since he himself suffers from personality disorder and is bipolar, but he decided to use his talents to inform others on what it’s like to dealing with these issues, getting the likes of Rosie Perez and Eric Roberts to be a part of the cast. I’m not sure this movie will be for everyone, but I think it’s quite a brave effort by Fisher which I hope people will check out. It opens at New York’s Village East on Friday and in L.A. on March 20 and other citieson March 27. (For the sake of transparency, I helped with some of the publicity work on this film.)
Opening in select theaters this Friday and then streaming on Hulu next Friday is Jason Orley’s Big Time Adolescence (NEON), starring Pete Davidson from “Saturday Night Live” and Griffin Gluck, the latter playing 16-year-old Mo, a mostly innocent guy who is trying to navigate high school with the guidance of his best friend and college drop-out Zeke (Davidson). When Zeke starts teaching Mo untraditional life lessons about dating, partying and drug dealing, causing Mo’s father (Jon Cryer) to realize he needs to step in. The movie premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Famke Janssen star in Danis Tanovic’s thriller The Postcard Killings (RLJE Films), based on James Patterson and Liza Marklund’s best-selling novel with Morgan playing New York Detective Jacob Kanon, whose daughter and son-in-law are killed in London. As Jacob starts learning about a series of journalist murders in Europe, each one preceded by a postcard, he goes after the killer to get justice for his daughter. As with most RLJE films, it will get a limited theatrical release and be On Demand and digital.
Australian actor Rachel Griffiths makes her directorial debut with Ride Like a Girl (Saban Films/Paramount), based on the true story of the first female horse jockey to win the 2015 Melbourne Cup, Michelle Payne, as played by the wonderful Teresa Palmer. Sam Neill plays Michelle’s father Paddy who supports her when she decides to leave school as a teenager to become a jockey, overcoming tragedy and a nearly fatal fall along the way. The movie will open in select theaters (including New York’s Village East) as well as On Demand and Digital this Friday.
Cindy Meehl’s The Dog Doc (a somewhat self-explanatory title there?) will open at New York’s Quad Cinema this Friday and at the Laemmle Royalin L.A. next Friday, March 20. It takes a look at veterinarian Dr. Marty Goldstein whose practice at the Smith Ridge Veterinary Center where he treats animals using holistic care.
Meanwhile Adam Bolt’s doc Human Nature (Greenwich), opening in New York and L.A., deals with the breakthrough and controversial medical process known as CRISPR which looks at how DNA can be changed from before birth to avoid diseases and even be used to “design our children.” The film talks to the scientists behind CRISPR and how it will change our relationship with nature and evolution. (Note: The Village East Cinema has a lot of amazing guests talking about the movie and its implications over the next week, including the one and only Dan Rather!)
Last up is Philip Harder’s Tuscaloosa (Cinedigm), based on the Southern novel by W. Glasgow Phillips, which takes place in Alabama, 1972 with Devon Bostick playing Billy, a young man who falls for a patient at his father’s mental asylum (played by Natalia Dyer from “Stranger Things”). At the same time, Billy’s best friend becomes involved in the civil rights movement against Tuscaloosa’s power elite. Having premiered at the Nashville Film Festival last Fall, this hits select theaters, VOD and Digital HD this Friday.

STREAMING AND CABLE
There is new stuff on Netflix this week but nothing I really know much about: the first season of Norwegian anthology series “Bloodride,” the third season of something called “Elite,” although I’m kind of interested in Liz Garbus’ Lost Girls, starring Amy Ryan. You know what? Other than getting the trailer in January, I have heard absolutely nothing about this movie, so I guess if Netflix doesn’t want their movies covered, that’s just fine by me.
Premiering on Disney+ this Friday is Star Girl, the new romantic drama directed by Julia Hart (last year’s Fast Color), starring Grace VanderWaal as Stargirl Caraway, a colorful new girl at school that captures the interest of Graham Verchere’s Leo Borlock. That’s about all I know about it.
Next week, it’s John Krasinski’s horror sequel A Quiet Place: Part 2!
By the way, if you read this week’s column and have read this far down, feel free to drop me some thoughts at Edward dot Douglas at Gmail dot Com or send me a note on Twitter. I love hearing from readers!
