Some characters as they appear within Beast Ancients AU (Info below)
Strawberry Crepe Cookie witnessed the rise of the Beast of Penance, and saw something so horrible that they could do nothing but run for their life. In the chaos, they left something very important to them behind; but the Saint is a kind one. He will return what was lost, and deliver his witness to the peace that was torn from them so long ago.
Pitaya Dragon Cookie sits chained underneath the Hollyberry Palace, studied day in and day out by the royal scientists on the Beast of Pride’s orders. They are hardly in cookie form anymore, only able to shapeshift if the monarch allows. Sometimes they feel like freedom is obtainable, but they often learn it’s only because Dragonberry likes to play games.
Princess Cookie can’t sit idly by as her kingdom falls into darkness. Her grandmother has put her entire family in her pocket, keeping them under strict control, but the princess hates control! She can't believe how complacent everyone is! Against all odds, on one fateful night, she donned an unrecognizable disguise and disappeared in search of help. She knows she's leaving everything and everyone behind, but she'll do anything to get her kingdom back. It's hers as much as it is her family's!
Silverbell Cookie has faithfully served his queen even before she rose to the throne, and watched as she strengthened their kingdom into a formidable force in Beast-Yeast. But he can't help but wonder why she seems so distant and unlike herself... in fact, something about the kingdom he swore to protect feels different. They swear to protect the tree, but now they eye the lands around them, swear to destroy an evil enchantress who prevents their queen from regaining her full self... as Silverbell Cookie continues to dutifully stand at her side, he asks himself, what has the Beast of Sovereignty done to his kingdom?
Caramel Arrow Cookie and Crunchy Chip Cookie swore an oath to stand by their king's side to the bitter end. They fought with him as he protected his kingdom from internal collapse. They watched with elation as he brought the Licorice Sea to kneel before them and never threaten the kingdom again. However, when the Beast of Solitude replaced their steadfast leader, their vows were put to the test as the kingdom was soon claimed by permafrost. While Crunchy Chip cookie had seen the writing on the wall, Caramel Arrow Cookie remained steadfast even as everyone froze around her. In her desperation to get through to the king, Caramel Arrow Cookie made the mistake of stepping out of line, her arm consumed by ice the moment she reached out to him. Crunchy Chip Cookie was quick to pull her away before she could be frozen entirely, and the two fled into the mountains. Crunchy Chip Cookie is looking for someone to help bring his confidant back to good health before the frost completely engulfs her.

If Debling isn't good enough for Fran, as the Queen herself says, because he's boring and has nothing to really offer save a title
If what Debling can offer isn't good enough for Edwina, IE: a life of security without love like what Anthony was willing to provide for her
If what Debling represents, an absent figure in a household who does not invite his wife into his plans and interests isn't a good outcome for Portia, who preaches about marrying for security and then ends up scrounging for it, regardless
Why does fandom insist that Penelope has to settle for him? That he'd be a 'better option'? Why is it that she's the one who should have hopped on the first guy with a vague interest in her and tepid emotions when Colin is right there and actually desires her? Why are other women in the series allowed to prioritize love and dream of happy endings regardless of the consequences and outcomes but Penelope should be content with being the warden of a big house as her husband fucks off without her? Why is it that all these characters deserve romances and caring but Penelope should have accepted a title and an estate and being alone?
As if Colin can't provide her security. As if Colin doesn't show interest in her and listen to her. As if he's not from a good family and will also elevate her standing in society through their marriage. As if Penelope has ever been the kind of woman to go title hunting. As if Penelope finds any kind of solace in being alone. As if Penelope isn't actively looking for connection.
Peeps who think Debling is in any way a good fit for her hate Colin, but y'all clearly hate Penelope more, because what are you even talking about? Debling opened the door after getting permission to ask to marry her and didn't even smile. Colin throws open the carriage door and does the stride of pride to show her off to his family with a grin on his face. Debling dumps her with the first SNIFF he gets of her having interest in someone else. Colin runs off after her to beg her to give him a chance and not to marry the other dude. Debling wants to leave her alone in a big house as he goes on adventures. Colin cannot go traveling without writing to her and sharing the world with her.
Penelope deserves the best just as the other women of this series do. Penelope deserves to be loved in every way- with acts of service (the balloon scene, setting up a ballroom in Bridgerton House so they can flirt), with quality time (all their lessons), with touch (carriage, dances, kisses aplenty), with words of affirmation (you are Penelope Featherington, never forget that, you are clever and warm, you do not need lessons), with gifts (a ring on her finger, a house she can make a home with him together). With big gestures like running off after her and small moments like looking for her in every room.
I'm sick of Debling. I'm sick of people who don't recognize that he had 0 emotion toward Penelope save for 'she'll do'. That he liked that she was honest and alone and didn't share his interests. That she would be content with the scraps he was willing to offer her. Not passion. Not sharing. Not cultivating a life together. Not love. Not anything except money and solitude. In what world would that ever have been enough? In what world is that best for her? I'm sick of people refusing to see that Penelope wants to be and should be and will be loved all because there's bitterness in their hearts. If you throw a dreamer into a pragmatic box, they wither. As Colin would have with Marina. As Penelope would have with Debling.
Penelope deserves the best. Penelope deserves Colin. Because Colin is the best for her, to her, with her.
If you can't see that, sucks to suck.

What's wrong with lesson 16 (everything)
A list by yours truly, who is about to collapse if she doesn't vent about it (TW: opinion lmao)
⍣ ೋ The time-travel shit
LITERALLY WHY
It creates so many problems and plot holes that could easily be avoided for no reason.
We leave everyone behind and it's never even addressed?? THEY'RE WAITING FOR US???
Barbatos, supposedly the one that cares about balance and timelines, just goes "well you're stuck here and I literally erased the other MC, good ending :D"
He told her "don't run into anyone" and she decides FIRST THING to head where all the noise is coming from, not trying to hide at all
⍣ ೋ No consequences whatsoever
It's awesome to know no one cared about MC dying
Sure, she's "alive" now, but everyone moved on so quickly??? Even Mammon, who was in the verge of a meltdown.
And it's all because we're Lilith's descendant how convenient
Even Belphie, our murderer who has hated humans for MILLENNIA, had a major switch up at this
Also, the brothers begin to completely disregard MC by treating her like Lilith
Look I understand, it's your dead sister and you miss her, BUT MC IS NOT HER. SHE IS HER OWN GODDAMN PERSON
But the worst part is... MC IS SO DAMN CHILL ABOUT IT
Even if she technically isn't the one who died, you'd expect some kind of uneasiness coming from her, SPECIALLY AROUND BELPHIE
Words can't express how much I hate it
⍣ ೋ Solution
I'm gonna make the devs a favor and fix their game
REVIVAL
MC JUST REVIVES FOR WHATEVER REASON (Lilith's will, the last remnants of her powers, Barbatos' precautions...)
Now you don't have to worry about too many plot holes, focusing on just one timeline
Make the brothers indecisive
Also this allows her to remember her death, making her trauma more intense and veridical
I know it sounds crazy but if they could pull out lesson 16, they can pull this out
They got their little brother back, but at what cost?
Everything is fine now, right? But it's not. MC is not "fine"
Make them conflicted between taking MC's side and comforting her but also welcoming Belphie and make up
MAKE MC UNCOMFORTABLE
I can't stress enough how important this part is
Give her TIME to evolve, develop as a character, and understand her feelings
She wouldn't want to be around Belphie, at all
She might not even wanna be around the others, seeing as they treat her like nothing happened
Make her upset, confused, feel like she doesn't belong, ANYTHING
MAKE HER GO THROUGH THE STAGES OF GRIEF
In fact, if you want to make her relationship with Belphie nourish, you can do that too by not just hey lol I killed you but I'm good now
Make her have nightmares
That's it
Make Belphie notice the dark circles under her eyes and the way she avoids him, then discover she has nightmares
The "now" Belphie could feel guilty
He might try to comfort her, only for her to shy away in response
Seeing as his apologies don't work this early into the trauma, he could enter her dreams and chase those nightmares away, every night, sacrificing his own sleep
THAT is a dynamic I want to see, personally
This could have been done with or without the time-travel, btw
In the time-travel, though, I was also missing some grieving from MC
Remember when I said to make the brothers conflicted? Make MC suffer more too
She wants to go back to her time, her universe, her family. They're waiting for her
But she also doesn't want to leave behind these demons, which have just found peace and happiness after a long time
Here's the catch, No matter what she chooses, she's forced to live her life regretting whatever decision she makes, since she can't make everyone happy and one side must suffer inevitably
An MC going through a heavy trauma and eventually (and slowly) overcoming it would just click with so many players
⍣ ೋ Conclusion
To me, the game didn't fully explore the feelings that going through that experience would bring for everyone, even if the idea itself was interesting. No, more like it didn't WANT to. Making MC go through all that would mean a lot of character development for a big amount of characters and little romance, which is what the game is about.
However, if you can't make that sacrifice, don't settle your game in a world rich in lore. And honestly, with all the explanations and back stories, I don't think obey me! is lacking on that. More so that, even if they were fully capable, they didn't want to go through all the trouble. Remember we're coming from an already fucked up scenario that took a lot of chapters.
Finally, this is just my opinion based on my experience. Of course, you don't have to agree with me in any way.
Tumblr media
I have to say, that was relaxing lmaoo
Anyways, since I really like this idea and I've seen several people do it, I'm gonna make my own fanfic exploring how I think lesson 16 would have turned out realistically, hope you stay tuned!

on fixing the end of ACOWAR to create a better transition into and story for Nesta
In my unending grief over how Nesta has been destroyed by the narratives of ACOFAS and ACOSF, I wanna talk about some absolutely wasted potential in the series. Because although I believe there’s plenty of stupid, unnecessary bullshit throughout the series, I find there’s a specific moment that was the death knell for me: Rhysand and Amren’s deaths and near immediate resurrections at the end of ACOWAR. It cheapened their sacrifice, and I think that in the interest of honoring the stakes of the battle/war, they should’ve stayed dead. But since we know SJM won’t let her precious bat stay dead, I would like to instead offer a way to have him not be permadead in a way that’s compelling and can fix a lot of the bullshit, including the shitty attitudes of characters I pretty openly despise (primarily Rhysand, Mor, and post-ACOWAR Cassian, but I think this version could fix a lot more!)
It’s gonna get a bit long, but I promise it’s worth it! Picture this:
Feyre realizes Rhysand is dead. She’s screaming and crying, demanding that the other High Lords bring him back. They all give that tiny bit of power, but it doesn’t work. Why won’t it work?
That’s because this time, only 6 of 7 High Lords have given their power. Someone, perhaps Tamlin, realizes this, and asks Feyre if the power has transferred to her; it hasn’t. At this point, Nesta and Elain are with her, holding her and doing their best to console their sister. The Inner Circle are in shock. Rhysand is gone but the High Lord’s power hasn’t gone to Feyre, nor any of them. It’s not gone to Keir, not to… anyone. Is the Night Court just going to be without a High Lord now?
Helion, with the knowledge of all the vast libraries of the Day Court, suggests that maybe the power hasn’t transferred because Rhysand is not quite dead. Even if that’s true, Rhysand certainly isn’t alive; Feyre can’t feel him through the bond. Maybe it’s at this point that Lucien steps up and takes a long, hard look at Rhysand. The gold eye whirrs and clicks; it looks as though the bits of power offered by the other High Lords is sustaining him, but only just. Thesan takes a look as well, trying to see what healing he can offer, if any, but Rhysand is essentially comatose and on magical life support.
It’s at this point that Nesta whips her head up and asks what that humming noise is. Everyone around her stares at her in confusion, what noise? “It’s so loud, how can none of you hear it?” She turns the crying Feyre into Elain’s arms so she can focus. She stares at the Cauldron, realizing that it’s the source of the sounds she’s hearing.
Nesta closes her eyes and tries to concentrate, trying to peer into the wretched mind of the Cauldron. Though she doesn’t understand what her sister sees in him, the loss of Rhysand has broken Feyre in a way that nothing else in their lives ever came close to achieving. So, as terrified as she is to face the Cauldron like this, she knows Feyre had been brave and strong for them for so long, and she wants to try and do something for her sister this time.
As it turns out, the hateful thing that had stolen the humanity from herself and Elain had been seeking yet more vengeance against the Archeron family. When Feyre had been trying to mend the broken Cauldron to prevent the world’s destruction, the Cauldron itself thought to take Feyre’s life in exchange. It was the perfect retaliation for a number of perceived slights: Feyre’s previous attempt to neutralize its power, Nesta’s success in clawing out more power than the Cauldron had intended to give her, and Feyre’s use of it so Amren would shed her fae form, which had resulted in its destruction in the first place. The Cauldron was ready to kill Feyre, if her mate hadn’t gotten in the way.
It’s unclear if he’d made a bargain with it or what, but it seems that Rhysand is essentially trapped and held hostage in some strange limbo of the Cauldron’s making. As a High Lord, he was powerful enough that he just narrowly survived, if that’s what his current state can even be called. Like it or not, if Prythian is to have any hope of surviving in the aftermath of the war, they need to bring Rhysand back to first restore balance. And to get Rhysand back from the Cauldron, they need the power of something Cauldron-born to break him out.
From here, we would begin Nesta’s story. As much as I hate to center much of Nesta’s journey around bringing Rhysand back, I think it’s necessary for a number of reasons.
The loss of Rhysand is a huge blow to Feyre. I imagine she would be inconsolable, having lost him after she had fought so hard for so many years. In his absence, she can hardly keep herself together enough to work with the IC in running the Night Court (not that they do much of it anyway, but you know…). I don’t think it’s something she can come back from so easily, and I think seeing Feyre like that would light a fire in Nesta to act. If I recall correctly, Nesta and Rhysand’s relationship, though hardly cordial, only became really adversarial post-ACOWAR. Nesta setting aside whatever feelings she has toward Rhysand to bring him back for the sake of Feyre is something I can see her doing as an act of love for the sister she just began to get close to in adulthood
Nesta journeying to try and bring Rhysand back would show the IC a different side to her. It would mean interactions with them that didn’t dredge up old trauma for her in the worst ways possible, and they would learn to appreciate her on her own merits. They would also have to give an actual shit about her not falling victim to her depression, self-hatred, and fear. Nesta is their only hope of rescuing Rhysand, and they have to give her the same care and respect they gave Feyre if they want their High Lord back
Nesta could’ve been the one asking to train. She wants to learn to wield her powers properly, not just because she can feel them eating away at her, but because she knows she’ll need to be able to use them to retrieve Rhysand. And she even admits that although she isn’t good at combat and doesn’t want to be a warrior, she’ll need to be able to hold her own in a physical fight, so she asks for Cassian’s help in that
With Rhysand and Amren gone, and Feyre out of commission, the Eris alliance could’ve been Mor’s decision. They had tried asking Lucien first, if he could help Nesta learn to manager her powers, but her flames are stronger than his, and different. And as much as Mor hates and fears him, she acknowledges that Eris has decades, if not centuries of mastery over his flames compared to Lucien; he could be the key to Nesta taming hers. If they want a chance at getting Rhysand back, that’s what it’s going to take.
We could have a compelling love triangle between Nesta, Eris, and Cassian here. Eris, shrewd and cunning, sees through to Nesta’s potential. And, ever the courtier, he has the charm and wit to draw her attention like all the heroes of her favorite books too. He sees his perfect match in her, and tells her as much. Cassian, on the other hand, is inexplicably keeping Nesta at arm’s length despite their undeniable attraction to each other. He hasn’t forgotten what he said to her when the King of Hybern was poised to kill them both, but he’s scared. He would’ve been leaning on Rhysand and Feyre to help him navigate a courtship with Nesta, but they’re both unable to help him. He doesn’t know how to approach her after so much has changed, and now he’s relying on her to save his lost brother. To top it all off, he has that “brutish bastard” chip on his shoulder and fears he can’t compete with Eris
Maybe this time Cassian could actually make good on his fucking promise to protect Nesta
Nesta saving Rhysand might finally drag his head out of his ass far enough that he might learn to respect her. Maybe even respect her and her power enough that maybe he would offer her a spot as his second in command, in place of Amren. Of course it’s for his own benefit by keeping her alliance to the Night Court, but also in a bid to keep her around for Feyre and Cassian’s emotional well-being. Nesta is still torn between her feelings for Eris and Cassian, but where once she had given up hope to fit in with Cassian’s chosen family, she’s offered a specific position in recognition of her deeds and abilities, from Rhysand of all people
Maybe Beron fucks up Eris’s chances with Nesta by saying something to make her think Eris had been manipulating and using her. It’s not true, or maybe not entirely, but it’s enough that it deeply affects Nesta and she can’t trust Eris as she did before. She won’t break the alliance, she and the Night Court need him just as much as he needs them to support his bid for High Lord of Autumn, but the relationship is irreparably damaged
Beyond this, I haven’t thought much about what I would do to give Nesta a better storyline. I think there are plenty of ways to still work in a lot of elements existing in ACOSF (Nesta befriending Emerie and Gwyn, wielding the Dead Trove, facing Briallyn, etc.) while vastly improving both the development of individual characters and relationships between them. And although I admittedly haven’t thought too deeply on it, I would argue that you could still explore the mental health struggles Nesta experiences without abusing her the way that ACOSF did, and I’m almost certain it’d be a far more healing storyline than the bullshit SJM gave us.
Anyway thanks for coming to my TED Talk. Also for the record, I cannot write this out as proper fanfic because I simply do not have the time or patience, and more importantly I am not a writer (trust me, you don’t want me writing it anyway, it’d be shit)

give me rtc character hcs for being in the subway for the first time
i love how this implies that they’ve never been in the subway before. well, since most of them almost never left uranium, this checks.
ocean — she always advocated for public transportation (and for some reason believed it wasn’t widely used, probably because she assumed everyone could use a car and subway was for noble people who cared for the environment), but if she ever went to a big city, she never stayed there for long, and usually walked by foot. when she actually used the subway for the first time, she decided to hand out flyers that said something like “thank you for choosing public transit! here are some other ways you can help the planet (…)”. ended up absolutely overwhelmed and in a taxi, wiping tears with the flyers no-one seemed to like. wonder why.
noel — romanticized the shit out of paris metropolitan, said he researched all about it and prided himself on being more knowledgeable of it than a local. when he got to go to france (probs a family/school trip when he was a teen) he bought an overpriced graphic t-shirt with the metropolitan map and confidently entered the underground. immediately got disappointed it wasn’t all gothic catacombs, and accidentally sat on a wrong train. had to take off his t-shirt and figure out where he was, and after two hours of being chest naked in the french underground and hopping from one wrong train to another even wronger train a kind passer-by pointed out that the print on his tee was of marseille, not paris. he spent an extra hour figuring out the correct map and asking for directions in broken french (the locals despised him). he entirely missed the drag show he waited for, and ever since then grew to hate the french underground.
mischa — is in on a ukrainian inside joke about metro in odesa. successfuly convinced all choir that there’s metro in odesa. there is no metro in odesa.
there’s also a ukrainian book called toreadors from vasyukivka, where two boys want to build a metro in their village, so they dig a big hole in their yard and a cow accidentally falls into it. safe to say their idea doesn’t stick. at some point these boys get to kyiv and immediately get lost in metro there. that’s 100% mischa. he did this i was the cow.
also he always finds ways not to pay for his ride: jumps over the tourniquet’s, crawls under them, squeezes in with a person in front of him etc. sometimes gets extremely bored and hides in a train wagon when it reaches the final stop, and stays in it when it goes to depo.
ricky — his parents drove him everywhere by car, and told the tales about toronto subway being inaccessible, dangerous and full of freaks. he never believed them. at some point (maybe in a trip with the choir) he got to travel by subway himslef. it was, in fact, a bit of an unpleasant experience, but he found out that it sucks on his own terms and was lowkey proud.
also he was listening to some cringefail furry music (i do not know if furry music is a thing but it will be now) and realised his earphones disconnected and he was blasting it to everyone only after he got home.
penny — had a secret hiding spot in toronto subway where she could keep her things and return to see them intact. she and ezra hid there often and spied on people, sometimes picking up what fell out of their purses — like pieces of candy or pennies (get it? penny? pennies? penis?). they never stayed there for long tho cause it was too overwhelmingly loud.
one time she went to that place and realised some construction workers occupied it. she was emotionally devastated.
constance — always saves the seat for the elderly, disabled and other people who might need it, and people always thank her plenty when she does so. actually never ever sat on a train seat unless the wagon was mostly empty. however, one times she had a horribly tiring + devastating + bad day and decided to sit down for once. got called 10 slurs by an old guy who didn’t see there was another free seat and ocean then told her she should have thought about others first. when she got home she wrote an angry vent in her musical diary (yk, the ones that open with a password and then play a one direction song or smth) with a fluffy pen.
+ talia — she is a subway rat. has a love/hate relationship with obolon station. has beef with pochayna station. she herself is from solomyanka region of kyiv where there is no subway. considers it her curse.
thank you folks for reading this, feel free to send me asks for headcanons!

I think it’s important to realize that you can have empathy towards someone and still dislike them and hold them accountable for their actions. I dislike Nesta because she continues to verbally abuse her youngest sister. Do I feel bad that she was abused by her parents and suffered from poverty? Absolutely. I think the abuse she faced from her parents and the trauma she endured from starvation, poverty, Tomas, the men that broke into her house to beat her father up, Hybern, and her father’s death contributed to the abuse she inflicted onto Feyre. She was abused by her mother, then went on to abuse her youngest sister. She continued a cycle of abuse. But her being traumatized and abused doesn’t justify her traumatizing and abusing someone else. I understand Nesta and I sympathize with her - but I still dislike her.
Just because someone dislikes Nesta doesn’t make them ableist to those with mental illnesses. Just like having a mental illness doesn’t give you the right to abuse those around you.
This morning I saw someone say that saying you dislike Nesta is the equivalent of saying that you’re ableist and thinks mentally ill people have to fit into a certain box.
And I think that perfectly sums up how a lot of Nesta fans are ignorant when it comes to comprehending why people don’t like her. They think it’s because we don’t understand her or because we feels as though only certain trauma responses are acceptable. But that’s not true at all.
I completely under Nesta’s character and how her trauma dictates her actions and her views on the world. I understand that she’s someone who’s been groomed since childhood and given a life purpose and when that purpose was taken away, she spiraled and her superiority and inferiority complexes collided causing her to be abusive and toxic. I understand that her treatment of Feyre comes from a place of jealousy and insecurities over the fact that she was tasked with taking care of the family and it was Feyre who did that job when she couldn’t (or purposely wouldn’t). I understand that the way she was raised plays a major part in her prejudice and ignorance, I understand why she latched onto Gwyn and Emerie, I even understand her relationship with Elain. But I just can’t like her.
I am perfectly capable of sitting her and saying that Nesta deserved nothing that she went through. Not the Cauldron, Hybern, Tomas, her mother, etc. But at the same time I’m not about to sit here and coddle her. I’m not about to say it’s okay for her to inflict pain on others because she’s in pain. And that’s what a lot of Nesta fans hate about people who don’t like her. They take us not coddling her as us not understanding her. Because to them if you understand her then you must like her. If you understand her then you must see everything she does/says as justified.
The why does not change the action or it’s effect. We all know that Nesta’s abuse towards Feyre was born from the abuse she faced growing up…but that doesn’t change her abuse towards Feyre? If Nesta’s pain from her childhood is taken into account and sympathized with then why can’t Feyre’s? They treat Feyre’s familial abuse as some taboo subject that they’ll only touch on briefly because they know that if they talk about it in depth, Nesta is going to come up because she played a good part in Feyre’s abuse.
And lastly, Nesta’s fans trying to call anyone ableist is crazy when you take into account that she herself is ableist.

I really hope Macaria gets her own Hades game, and if not here's some of my ideas
It's like the opposite of Hades 1
Mac has long brown hair that kinda looks like Persephones hairdo pre-underworld, yellow and white based clothes, two green eyes, and oh yeah white wings, all weapons kinda float on her back. Very nice, kind, and sweet. More of Hallyday, joyous, flowers and rainbow vibe game
Mac is trapped on the mortal world, raised by Persephone, because that curse is like the opposite for her, she can't live in the underworld, lives in Persephones old farm
Trained by Chiron, taking Skelemesus(how do you spell??) Role. Also Triptolemus is here, mortal turned God by Demeter during Persephones disappearance, and Cyrene, amazing Hunter and Shepherd princess/queen turned Naiad, lover of Apollo and Ares too
Plot: The Primordal gods and Titans are awaking, aka they were all, mostly, asleep before this and will wake up and choose violence
Mainly Gaia, who's upset about the Titan things. The Olympians can't help cause they gotta deal with Typhon, so Mac gets help from minor gods and some Titans- Hebe, fun cus, Asclepius, bless his soul, Triton, nervous cus, Iris, gossip girl/hermes job, Nike, probably challenges you like Nem in Hades 2, Tyche, the IDK, Eros, seductive but is married(put shoulerd guards because of THE INCIDENT), Psyche, distant, loss vibe, but a sweetheart, Aeolus, laying down on a couch looking cloud, baby girl, Prometheus, holds tourch thats all I ask for, Themis, blindfold looking straight at you with hands on sword in the ground, stoic.... probably others, comment below
For Nyx kids this time around, basically everyone's who left, but primarily Phil(Philotes) Friendship Incarnate, the bestie who's like Hypnos, never met him though, she doesn't hang out with her other family, except Hemera! Also here, like the opposite Nyx, kinda duh Day Incarnate, also you wake Aither, Light Incarnate, same vibe as giddy Hypnos kinda. But then gets the worst Nyx kids, Oizys, Distress Incarnate, pessimism pro, Momus, Satire Incarnate, ridicules you for everything, the worse, more annoying Hypnos greeter, Dolos and Apate, Fraud and Deceit Incarnate, makes your job harder and kills you half the time, Geras, grumpy old man, anddddd Achlys, Misery Incarnate, who I make Nyx AND Erebus kid because the Chaos and Nyx kid might be too weird... also Asleep Primordal... but awakes, very much like Charon, they are best friends, enemies, and closest siblings, both taught by Erebus and hisses/growls to speak, also will kill you UNLESSS you offer her stuff, dumb enough to fight Charon... but he's also dumb enough to fight her so...
Also Erebus is here, who I like to say is all their dad because I love him, defiantly loving father who's been denied fatherhood too many times
Wake during the fight with Tartarus, who also wakes. They have beef. Fought each other and put eachother to sleep, on the day Eris was born, when the Twins were barely a year old(the order is different for reasons). Basically Erebus is gonna visist his entire family, also favors Charon because he's the first kid who he could ACTUALLY RAISE- looks at Hemera, Aither, and the Fates- let's not talk about Moros, Nemesis, Geras, Phil, Hypnos, Than, Eris, and Momus
Also others you awake- Oceanus, Pontus, Ananke, Astreaus, Uranus(maybe), Gaia, and other primordals/Titans prob, comment below for ideas
Other characters: Hippolytus, hates his dad(Theseus) loves Artemis(as in a Motherly figure/best friend, depending on how you see em) also loves his actually mom, Jason and Perseus hanging out together(congrats if ya got that reference), Atalanta, challenge you in everything and likes to berate Jason, Hippolyta, hates her Ex loves her son, Otrera, person you fight because why not?, Keto(Ceto) goddess of Sea Monsters, person you fight because I want that design, Midas, like takes Charons job for most of the game, also Pasithea, with children, help her get to Hypnos, others I don't know GIVE IDEAS
Weapons: main Scythe, because yes, at one point gets dual Swords, one is Aspect of Erebus, because yes, throwing knives, Aspect of Oizys, idk feels right, some type of spear thing, Aspect of Iris and Nike for those, whip? Aspect of Megeara because I'm funny, shields, either Aspect of Heracles or Achlys, and one for Perseus and Athena, mirror shield plus Medusa head one, Hammer/Mace, a Hypnos Ascpet it's funny guys, probably Momus too, and I don't know... that's all I got

Finally, you get a big quest known as Phil's Tea Party, basically everytime you god a minor god or Nyx kid to join her Tea Party, at the end get the whole family, please, Phil loves her family despite them not loving her
AND THATS IT???
I don't know, love to hear ideas

hot take:
I love the Hunger Games, and Suzanne Collins is one of my favorite authors of all time, but I hate how she writes the relationship of Katniss and Peeta with their families (I'm not counting Prim or Katniss's father here.) . I won't ever be able to understand why she killed all of Peeta's family. Why kill all of them? And if she really wanted to kill them why didn't she develop their family dynamics before doing so? It would be so much better seeing his family in District 13. Peeta dealing with the trauma, and disfunctional family. Why kill all of them instead of having an opportunity to deal with such cool and complicated emotions that would be great for the narrative and Peeta's development? I feel like it's just a missed opportunity. I never will understand. For me, Peeta wasn't given the opportunity to grieve their deaths properly. My other problem is with Katniss's mom. Everything that happened in District 13, and her mom never lifted a finger. She's not an important character for the plot, and it's so confusing because Collins draws such specific similarities between Katniss's mom grieving for her late husband and Katniss grieving for Peeta. I feel it's just a missed opportunity of everything.

So I was asked to expand on the whole Jamil having a trauma response to Leona comment on my last post, aaand here's that.
(This pertains to chapter 6 btw, so spoiler warning)
(also it's very much sleep deprived rambling so sorry if it's, well, rambly)
First off, I'm operating under the assumption that he has cPTSD. Jamil has clearly been programmed since birth to always obey the Asims and act in their best interests, even at the expense of his own life. This is a boy who has been forced to eat poison to protect them and their assets, who's family was forced to let that happen, and who has been so desperate his entire life to escape that situation that he was willing to resort to murder and doom not just himself but his whole family which he is implied to care about. Which means if simply quitting was an option, he would have done so. So, you kinda have to infer that he and his family don't have a choice in this role, and there are severe enough consequences for disobedience that fucking up or refusing is a worse option than risking a slow painful death every time Kalim wants to eat something. And this is all stuff that's been depicted blatantly in canon, not even touching on the assumptions that could be made from there.
So that's the position Jamil is in. That is a traumatic situation. This is a guy who has been groomed for servitude and obedience since he was old enough to talk. These kinds of circumstances absolutely can lead someone to be triggered into subservience or other trained behaviors. That's just, a thing with trauma.
Now, with the Asims being one of if not THE most powerful merchant families in their country, one of the expectations of Jamil as their servant and especially as the attendant to their heir is to ensure good relationships with other rich and powerful families, especially royalty. This was shown in the fireworks event, where he states that as a prince, if Malleus came to any harm under his watch while a guest of the Asims, it could start an international conflict. These are incredibly high stakes, a misstep on Jamil's part could ruin the Asim family and potentially even endanger his country, and it's pretty strongly implied that he and his family would take the blame and suffer the consequences. Now, much like how wearing a company logo while at work makes your actions representative of your employer, Jamil serving the Asims 24/7 (and especially as the chaperone of their heir) means that he is representing their family At All Times. This is why he is forced to defer to Kalim in all aspects of life even outside of their country, part of his job is to make his employers look good, and there are consequences for not doing so. This means that anyone of high enough status to be significant to the Asims is someone who Jamil is required to be subordinate to.
Then, enter Leona. As a wealthy prince, he would be someone who Jamil is expected maintain good relations with at any cost to himself. With his position Leona could literally destroy Jamil's (and probably his family's) entire life with a single complaint to the Asims about his conduct. Like, he could do that with no actual cause just for fun, because the Asims are 100% going to take the side of a prince over an expendable servant. This means that one misstep or any backtalk from Jamil puts him at massive risk, it is entirely up to Leona whether or not he suffers for any of these actions, and while the audience knows Leona's personal morals would prevent him from actually doing that, Jamil does not.
THEREFORE (sorry this ended up so long), once Jamil was in a life threatening situation with Leona, it seems likely that all this programming and fear would manifest in desperately trying to protect him and follow orders the way he's always done for Kalim. To me, the way he snapped into bodyguard mode, and immediately complied with every one of Leona's bitchy commands (like giving him a hair ornament to throw away without question, and barely saying anything about it after), even while being humiliated and knowing he was less trained in magic, just comes off more like a trigger response than anything. Especially because I can't imagine that situation not being triggering, and I can't imagine him knowing any other way to respond.

I fear everything DC pushes about the main continuity bat characters being family makes zero sense to me.
Like, they don’t even back that shit up writing wise. How am I supposed to take it seriously?
There are so many interesting character dynamics that I actually enjoy within the Bat Clan and boiling pretty much all of them down to being important only because “now we’re family” (ie: we’re related now, not we’re like family) or “you’re my brother/sister now” is so fucking boring and not as indicative of the fandom supposedly appreciating “found family” and “untraditional family units/dynamics” as I think y’all think it is.
Y’all don’t give a shit. Just be real about it. If you actually wanted or cared about the existence of “untraditional family units” you wouldn’t force the Bats into the most boring and round about nuclear family dynamics every chance you get.
You’d also respect that not everybody that grew up in the same house considers themselves siblings (blood related or not) and that tons of people can live under the same roof or have the same father (once again biological or otherwise) and not claim each other as siblings even if they’re in contact with one another.
Jason and Tim being automatically considered siblings just because they’re contactually related to Bruce without their explicit say so (like Dick and Tim for example) despite having never met before Jason tried to kill Tim’s skinny ass makes zero sense to me. A sibling tie should be given way more weight than that, especially within an adopted family dynamic. It’s a choice. Dick choosing Tim is important and even more crucial is the fact that he didn’t choose Jason in that same way, and I’m not saying that he didn’t choose Jason at all just that there’s differences. The commitment is different.
Like, the idea that you have to be siblings if you share a parent (one or more) is why so many sibling relationships don’t hold up against adulthood and a lack of forced proximity. If that was actually how humans and emotions worked then they wouldn’t disown and separate themselves from each other now would they?
The sibling thing applies to allll of the Bats by the way. That’s a choice you make and I don’t think it’s as interesting anymore when you take away these characters’ ability to form their own specific connections with others by forcing a relationship dynamic on them automatically just because they all have their own separate connections with one man.
For some of them the sibling dynamic is a really interesting character beat and for others it’s just a box for DC to check off that waters down the connection or feels disingenuous to the characters involved.

mmm essay about sally and kid gort in the tags (cw for child abuse, mentions of suicide, animal cruelty and a murder attempt. i always hope i don’t have to say this but just in case: i don’t excuse or condone any of her or gort’s behaviour at all.) this is literally not even touching upon everything i have to say because i hit the fucking tag limit lmao. NOBODY READ IT’S BAD BRAINSTORMING I JUST NEEDED TO GET IT OUT SOMEHOW
#thinkin too much about gortie side characters again.#sally this time and why she specifically talks about him the way she does#like dravo is obviously still shitty but to me he was. ‘just ‘neglectful#while sally actively hated and even felt terrorised by her own child#like. it’s not like i don’t understand her at all.#imagine you and your love don’t have much besides each other and your shop and you get pregnant and ready to raise a child#only for it to not be a child he didn’t and doesn’t cry ever and he learns everything so much sooner than most but then he never calls you#his parents and it’s not just a petty thing kids do sometimes you feel that he doesn’t see you as family and the worst part is that you#agree deep down#and as he gets older he doesn’t have any friends and actively rejects the notion of the entire concept#but then as time passes you hear about how he has entire groups of children following him and then several of them commit suicide#and that thing coming to sit with you and dravo at the dinner table says that he did what you did last week when the axe to chop wood broke#and you discarded it and got a new one#and he has these habits of ripping out flowers and making sure that they don’t regrow#and then you hear rumours about a friend’s daughter’s cat disappearing and think nothing of it#until you visit his tree house a month later and find a declawed cat and birds with clipped wings and crushed bugs that he keeps fondly#and then you see him with other children and they don’t know and his face is different and body language is entirely different#and were it not for the fact that you know better you would never see anything but a normal child#and you know that you are one who painstakingly brought this thing that should not be into the world and so you decide to end it all one da#and go to him as he’s asleep with the knife shaking in your hand#but he cries when you’re above him! screams at the top of his lungs!#so you beg for forgiveness even though you don’t deserve it through tears but as soon as the knife is put away you see the act drop and fee#his clever fingers having twisted your brain inside and out and you know that you can do nothing#and so the opportunity arises to at least remove him out of your life if not everyone’s lives and you take it immediately.#but you heard him talk. how he will close his fist around the world one day. and you know that it is not a matter of if but when.#like. imagine that. jesus dude.#like i hc her as someone that is messy and does not know a lot about life and she certainly wouldn’t have been a good mother but the love#or at least desire to love is there somewhere. and believing that having a child is really the only somewhat meaningful thing she can do#with her life. she’s not some hero or rich or anything of note. so there’s a lot obligation and not genuine desire for family here.#but she never really got the chance to be an actual mother in the first place so. who knows what that might have looked like

random firewatch au detail that has basically no impact on the story unless you want to psychoanalyze fw!grian even further than i did as the author, but it's very intentional that i always refer to both of mumbo's parents but only grian's mom. did i give him daddy issues? i guess so, but not in a way where i really deeply examined the implications as meaningful to the story. it was just a detail i stuck with from the beginning as a way to keep fleshing out the story's background subtly. the idea behind grian's dual citizenship was always that he was born in america to an american dad and british mom, and that his mom moved back to the UK when he was very young since she wanted to be closer to her family. perhaps his dad didn't go with them? or perhaps his dad did, and then later they split and he went back to america? whatever the cause, grian never even mentions his dad in the story, and it wasn't because i intended him to be dead (because that would have come up in a story about grief) if you get me
#i have no idea why but i normally HATE thinking about cubitos' parents in like. normal mcyt settings sjlfjslkfjs#if i'm writing a hermitcraft-setting fic i'd rather have them all just spawn into the world fully formed than dealing with their parents LO#but in a real-world au it made more sense for the characters to mention their parents occasionally#i just similarly didn't spend TOO much time worrying about it because it was not really the focus#everybody's relationships with their family is a bit less important here than their relationships with their Friends here you know?#i also think that ivi inspired this a little because somewhere early in the fic she was like hey what Made grian react to things like this?#like what experiences in his life primed him to react like This to the story events?#i was like. oh yeah.#cause i normally approach writing grian from the perspective of watcher!grian#but normally him on hermitcraft or life series AFTER he escaped them and it's more of an old trauma that informs his present actions#with firewatch au there is like....none of that pretext. there's no context that he might have had other trauma in life?#but i WAS writing him like that. out of habit. and i'm not saying he DID have prexisting trauma in firewatch au#that's very much something i haven't bothered to flesh out because it's in the zone of things where my time was better spent elsewhere#but i will say i think i only starting doing the one parent detail AFTER ivi mentioned this lmao#i mean. if the guy's got abandonment issues it probably explains a lotttt of his fear of giving up on Mumbo. just sayin'#hc_firewatch_au
