coping mechanism (Leah Williamson x reader)

OCD, it was something. when you first joined the Arsenal squad in 2018 the girls took notice quickly that you were some one of a clean an organising freak. the first time they really noticed was when they walked into your apartment for a team bonding night. everything was highly organised, you books you food and everything was perfectly clean like it was really impressive.
so when you and Leah moved in together, Leah got first hand of the struggles of our OCD and not just been organised and neat. the anxiety, the mood swings all the bad things Leah has witnessed.
it was a normal day and you both had just gotten back from training, you both showered and Leah went to do some work in the office whilst you were doing some organisation in the kitchen since it was getting on your last nerve. you were currently taking out everything from the cupboards and cleaning the cupboards, the things in the cupboards and then organising everything.
Leah had walked in half way through you being in your moment, and signed knowing that you were getting bad, that's what the girls like to call it it was stages, you would clean simple for example hoover and polish, you would clean excessively like lamps and do a real spring clean and then you would slowly get worse with organising closets, clothes and then going through the house and organising every part of the house over and over again. during these stages your wellbeing would get worse with your mood changes, sleep it would all get worse. worse was a key word in this situation.
Leah always struggled with this sort of things, never knowing the triggers as you didn't even know, it just happened.
"hey baby what you doing" she asked leaning on the door frame.
"this kitchen has been bothering me for a while" i said finishing off another cupboard.
"okay so what do you want for tea tonight" she said not knowing if the kitchen will be in cooking conditions tonight.
"takeout" you said almost instantly.
"okay what food you thinking" She said.
"i don't know I'm not that hungry you can choose love" you said to her and she nodded leaving you to it. Leah walked back into the office and ordered food and and asked Kim for some advise.
you were really getting along with the Kitchen finishing all the cupboards and sweeping and mopping before leaving the kitchen. you were walking towards the office still feeling awful you couldn't even describe the deep feeling you had within you. walking into the office you sat next to Leah fidgeting about.
"come on" Leah said getting up and grabbing your hand.
"what" you asked.
"we are going for a drive" she said as you walked out of the house. you didn't question what she was doing. you just let Leah drive off.
"what about food" you asked.
"we will pick it up" She said, and you did just that you picked up the food and continued to drive and drive hoping it'll clear your head. Leah parked up in front of the sunset, you sat there in silence not knowing what to say.
"what caused it" she said and you knew exactly what she was going on about and you knew the answer.
"my therapist suggested to change my prescription" you said.
"oh love, why didn't say anything" she said.
"i don't know i just thought id be fine" you said.
"so how do you feel about it all" she asked.
"in my gut i think its good idea like i haven't had to many slips and I'm progressing with everything but in my mind i think that if it change everything its just going to get worse and ill end up like i did after covid and i cant do that again" you said.
during and after covid was awful for you the germs and the news go to you and to summaries it all you refused to play football and when you did start to come back to training you went through a breakdown and you didn't come to training or play for almost a month.
"you won't because you have a strong support system and i think personally i think that you should try to change your dose so then if it doesn't work then you really know where you are and if you are improving and if it does work then your getting there its a long process as you know" she said.
"yeah" you said.
"one step at a time" she said and you looked at her and kissed her.
"i love you" you said to her.
"i love you more" she said back.
"not possible" you said to her kissing her again.
"right lets get home I'm shattered" Leah said and you agreed it had been a long day.
you both went home and straight to bed. over the next couple of weeks you agreed to change your dose and it had been the best decision you had made during the journey, you felt more free. you obviously had your moments with cleaning, that will never change as you were always a clean person before your diagnosis, but Leah was right with having a strong supportive system all the girls were rocks, and Leah especially having her to come home to made life so much easier.

I just thought I would share this resources because it is mind blowing.

This girl has ADHD and talked about how she has always struggled with time blocking and keeping a calendar. She created a new method that works better for her.
Instead of having different coloured colours calendar for different areas of your life and then struggling to know what to do with events that belong to multiple areas. It works by having different colours for each calendar that helps you prioritise tasks. I myself have a hard time deciding what's important.
I have outlined my modified calendars that make sense for me but check out the video for hers.
Appointments
This calendar is for time sensitive things that have be done and/or would have a negative impact on others if you don't follow through. These can't be moved or would be really difficult to move.
Examples: actual appointments, work shifts, classes, scheduled group rehearsals/trainings, someone's birthday dinner/party
Bottlenecks
This calendar is for things that don't need to be done AT a specific time but do need to be done BY a specific time. This means they can be moved around whenever before the deadline but need to be done before the deadline otherwise they create a bottleneck in your schedule and lead to you getting overwhelmed.
Example: homework, taking the bins out, paying bills, filming youtube videos
Critical (yellow)
This calendar is for things that you deem critical to your goals and growth. These can be moved around if needed but are things you want to try your best to get done each day.
Examples: workouts, reading 10 pages of a book, doing a full skincare routine
Daily Routine
This calendar is for parts of your day that happen regularly. These can be moved around where needed.
Examples: habits, chores, meals, travel time
Extra Fancy
This calendar is for extra fancy stuff that your ideal self would like to get done. These are nice to do or want to do but nothing bad will happen if you don't do them.
Examples: doing a facemask, watching a movie, doing some arts and crafts
Favourable Rememberables
This calendar is for things that you need to remember in the future.
Examples: birthdays, days off, due dates (I recommend creating separate events for submitting assessments or paying the bill and put them as appointments which are your top priority)

You mind elaborating on how to find and connect to our communities? Some of us are hermits and don't know how to do that stuff.
I think the best thing to do is to look online for projects in your local area that need volunteers. There are often community gardening projects, book exchanges, food banks or mutual aid funds that need extra hands. Doing this is praxis in itself, but you’re also really likely to meet folks on a similar political wavelength if you help for long enough, and they can often help you find interest groups/local parties/activist organisations that it might not be as easy to find in an online search.
If you don’t spend a lot of time outside (outside is scary, I get it), it can help to do small scale stuff with friends to dip your toes in the water a bit. The folks that are battle hardened, fervent activists have years of experience of small stuff like that under their belt. Some start in uni, some start as early as secondary school, some start when they’re aching and greying; some people have just always existed in closer proximity to those circles. The big thing is to pick a fight that matters to you right now and resolve to do something about it in your spare time.

Being Ukrainian means fitting your whole life into one backpack.
Kherson. Nova Kakhovka dam. Destroyed by russians. Ecocide, terrorism... Call it whatever you want. I know that right now, there are thousands of Ukrainians that are drowning and hoping for help. But, the part of the Kherson region is still under occupation. And russians don't let them evacuate. The other part, where volunteers, soldiers and civilians are trying to evacuate other people and animals is sheiling by russians.
More than 85 villages will go underwater. Would you happen to know what else it means? People under occupation, people whom the russian occupation authorities imprisoned and tortured in specially designated premises, and dungeons, as was the case in Bucha, Irpin, Izyum and many other cities of Ukraine, are now underwater. Their bodies will be there now until the water goes.
Numbers of endangered species of animals and plants in the South of Ukraine will disappear. And you know what the UN and Red Cross doing? One is celebrating the day of the russian language the other is writing an article about how hard moscow works on the development of humanitarian law. Have any eco-activist, organisations written a word about it? Nothing. No one is helping. No one cares.
Yesterday, I received a letter from an eco-community. About saving bees. Funny things? Ukraine is one of the largest honey-exporting countries. But no one cares what's going on here. Because you all tried to be so good at words, but never at actions. It's easier to close your eyes and tolerate russia. Read their books, listen to their music, learn and celebrate the day of their language. It's easier to block a publication from Ukrainian because they said something bad about big and dear russia, but it's hard to share and speak about all the horrible things they are doing here. So hypocrisy.
I won't be easy in my words, while people here are drowning, being killed and tortured and the whole world is silent because they are scared. I won't ever share a post about plastic, straws and other shit, while there is russia, that can destroy a dam, cause a flood, destroy thousands of lives, kill animals and plants, and get away with it.
I don't believe in this world and in this society. You all have already forgiven russia.

Hiya! (๑˃̵ ᴗ ˂̵)و
I wanted to share the Google sheets I made earlier that shared and I got messages from people that wanted it as well so they could add their own new years resolution list in it! I added more elements to it than the original so it wasn't just plain basic!
I have made a lot of spreadsheets in the past for myself but I think as one person messaged me saying, I should "release them to the wild", especially the trackers I make for myself!
I really enjoyed making this, got to play around the formulas and learnt some new ones as well! And I got to design the promo pictures because for the dramatics~! (it looks super professional, shoutout to the pins that I saved to my board 2 years ago, finally have some use~!). The mini designer in me is pleased!

Participating in reform movements is still essential, both to making life livable for people on a daily basis and to radicalizing people. It’s how people become revolutionaries. I’ve said many times: No one is born a revolutionary. Often when people radicalize to the Left, it is through a kind of constant disappointment with the inability or ineptness of the status quo, the existing system, its political representatives to deliver those things which do make life livable. The Great Depression really broke the common-sense notion that people were poor because there was something wrong with them. That laid the ground for the kind of mass radicalization of people to become workplace militants, Socialists, Communists. The question for organizers, or people who are part of socialist organizations, or who see themselves as part of the Left, is to try to generalize beyond a particular struggle that people are in. To generalize to show that this is not just about abortion, or the price of rent, or the price of groceries or just about climate, but how all of these things are connected to a system of capitalism that is dependent on the exploitation of human beings, of animals, of the Earth itself. And that is incompatible with human life, or with life at all. Sometimes you need not just action, but people with a social theory of how the world actually functions, and an alternative.
