hi reddit. here are some tips.

i will be putting these below a "readmore" - which is the first lesson. on desktop there is a button for this. on mobile you type :readmore: followed by a linebreak. it is considered common ettique to shorten your long posts in this way.

by the way, are you reblogging a long post that isn't under a readmore? tag that as #long post so users can blacklist it and not have to scroll for five years.

(weird gaps in bullet points due to character limits lmao)

Title. Icon. Banner. blog description. (look around if you need an idea for what to put in your blog description.) Blogs without this information (ESPECIALLY the no icon + no title combo) gets you blocked immediately. This is because tumblr has always had a severe bot problem. Just grab a meme from your camera roll or a picture of a character you like from google.

also, because most users have their pronouns in their bio, it is expected that you will look there to check before addressing them, out of courtesy. don't just default to "they" - only do that if a person's pronoun's are unclear or if the pronouns listed ARE "they."

Disable public likes. the like button is for personal bookmarking. very often, people will like posts they have not read yet, so that they can read them later. a person's likes is not always reflective of their stances, and if your likes are public, people may use them against you in an argument. think of your likes as your browser history. tumblr users value privacy in this instance.

unrelated to the above point: likes are also used to show compassion for a user going through a tough time, or to say "hey, i thought this joke you made was funny." this use of likes is more for friend-to-friend communication.

Disable anything in your settings that is algorithmic including seeing posts based on other people's likes (one, because algorithms exist to make you mad and two, as part of respecting privacy)

set "following" to appear before "for you" (and overall avoid "for you")

Snooze Tumblr Live (sorry. you have to do this once a week bc tumblr sucks.)

Open your askbox so people can communicate with you. Decide if you want to allow anonymous asks and/or public DMs.

Enable the desktop version of your blog. This makes it so that when you use a computer and go to [yourusername].tumblr.com you can have a website with HTML and CSS. tumblr has tried very hard to kill blog personalization but you can find many helpful users posting in the tags, as well as pre-made themes you can install. tumblr users are the ones making the bulk of neocities websites, and in general tend to be friendly in redirecting you to resources.

enabling your desktop blog also allows you to insert links and do very basic editing (like inserting line breaks) in your blog description (we call "bio") which translates to the mobile version of your theme. you have to do this in the editor for the desktop on a computer. also, editing your theme on mobile (like changing color, font) will undo your HTML. your best bet is to edit your mobile theme first and THEN do the HTML/link stuff on a computer. i know it sounds a bit convoluted but you'll figure it out. (this website is made of duct tape)

also while you are on desktop: download xkit rewritten. it won't work on mobile but it gives you a lot of helpful features. also consider installing ublock origin if you haven't already, because tumblr will sometimes add annoying widgets to their website and that tool will allow you to block them. i also use "palettes for tumblr" to customize my dashboard color. tumblr DOES have built-in dashboard themes but i do not like them personally.

pinned posts. you can pin any post you make or reblog. some people use this to pin a funny meme, and other people use the pinned post as an extended bio (or otherwise an alternative to it). a tumblr post made on desktop can hold up to 30 images (the limit is 10 on mobile.) you can also embed links, a video, and even audio. you can change text color, have bullet points, and increase font size. as such, you can express yourself much more in a pinned post than in your mobile blog description. a typical pinned post may include information about the user, a link to an external website (like a carrd, neocities, or linktree), and sometimes an image or two. tumblr allows you to disable reblogs for a post, so most pinned posts are set this way so it just stays on a user's blog.

DNIs (also called "BYF"). not everyone uses them, and they can be divisive. it stands for "Do Not Interact" - and is a boundary set to keep people away. this may include age (example: "minors DNI"), political opinions (example: "prolifers DNI"), and sometimes deeply niche online discourse. DNIs are also sometimes a joke (example: "DNI if you like tuna salad"). there is actually a meme where someone will write a post with a very long, unreasonable DNI and users will count how many apply to them.

If you would upvote a post on reddit, you would reblog it here. If you see something and you think it is cool, you think it is funny, or you think it is helpful, reblog it. Some users have sideblogs (you can have infinite sideblogs attached to your main account) to organize all of the posts they reblog. Others simply use a tagging system for organizational purposes (and so users can blacklist ("filter") those tags in their settings if they don't want to see the post). For example, if I followed a user for Star Trek, but they also posted a lot of Star Wars, I might add "#star wars" to my list of filters. This way, I am only seeing the Star Trek posts. Tumblr's default way of handling this is to display a box that says "this post contains #Star Wars" and you can choose whether or not to open it. on desktop with xkit rewritten, you can have it hide those boxes entirely. please use filters. your sanity will thank you.

In a reblog, Organizational Tags are for /you./ I see a lot of confusion about this from new users. If you reblog someone else's post and add 500 tags..... it's not going to get picked up in tumblr search. You're not going to get any sort of exposure. Because it is not your post. Those tags are only for /you/ - if you want to find the post again.

tags are also used for commentary. most tumblr users do /not/ talk in post replies or in the comments of a reblog. most of them talk in tags. tags have a character limit so these messages are broken up in fragments. tumblr uses a comma (,) to make a new tag, so users often use either no punctuation or a period (.) or a hyphen (-) to break up thoughts. two apostrophes ('') are used instead of quotation marks (because they dont work in tags). this is also where "tumblr writing style" comes from. we all began to write in lowercase and use punctuation in. a weird way. like. for emphasis. there is also the Tumblr Comma, a special unicode character that resembles a comma and works in tags when copy+pasted or put there with a keyboard shortcut. but this is often not used. here it is: ‚

also here's an example of tags. you will notice that commentary goes before organizational: #GOD DHSHSKDDJDL #i cannot BELIEVE i forgot about this. what the fuck #star trek #spock

when leaving tags, most users talk to themselves. but please remember that tags can be seen by anyone, including the original poster. in general, it is discouraged to traumadump or be rude.

"prev tags" (which tumblr staff is trying their damnest to erase sadly) is when a user reblogs a post from another user and tags it simply ''prev'' or ''prev tags" (meaning "i agree with the previous user's tags"). sometimes it's because a thoughtful observation was made, but usually it's a way of saying "hey! that was a funny joke!" without putting the user on blast by screenshotting the tags. it's most common between friends and mutuals (users following each other). i would say it is equivalent to users whispering to each other and giggling rather than getting up on a table and shouting. "prev tag chain" is when users reblog "prev tags" "prev prev tags" - and so on. however, sadly, tumblr has removed the feature of moving backwards in a reblog chain on desktop. i have not updated my app and refuse to, so i so not know if it is gone on mobile as well, but it probably is. EDIT: the browser extension Xkit Rewritten has an option now, in "tweaks" called "restore links to individual posts in post header." it should be the first option. prev tags, on desktop at least, is saved!

screenshotting someone elses tags and adding the image in a reblog is known as "passing peer review." it is, however, considered to be Greatly Annoying to accompany those tags with unnecessary commentary (ex: "these tags pass peer review!" "WHY WOULD YOU LEAVE THIS IN THE TAGS" "LMAAOO THIS IS SO FUNNYYY"). the tags can stand on their own. the only instance in which this is different is during a serious discussion, when you want to build off of another user's perspective. in which case, you address them as normal. some people credit taggers, some people don't. crediting tends to occur in discussions.

when making an original post, do not use irrelevant tags for Exposure. this is Greatly Hated by the userbase and is also against the TOS. you will get blocked at best, reported or yelled at at worst. only add relevant tags, and do not go overboard.

reposting other people's artwork is highly discouraged and is considered the Highest Offense. if you do any sort of reposting, you should credit and link to a creator directly. however, tumblr loves reposted videos, especially ones from tiktok. there are entire accounts dedicated to posting those.

sideblogs! it is possible to have multiple blogs under one email address. tumblr treats these blogs as proxies of your main blog. this means that sending someone an ask/commenting in the replies of a post will always appear with the name of your main blog, your likes will appear with the name of your main blog, and that if you follow someone you will appear on their followers list as your main blog (so you may be mutuals with someone and not even know it because their sideblog interacts with you, but isn't on your follower's list... because their main blog is listed there instead.) however, DMs DO appear as the sideblog name. you cannot swap your main blog with your sideblog. and right now, there is a bug where deleting a sideblog will delete your entire tumblr account so. don't do that lol. anyway, the amount of sideblogs you can make is literally infinite and i think there's just a Daily Limit of creating 10 of them or something. some users make a sideblog for each interest they have. others have no sideblogs and reblog everything to main. and then you have people like me that do both. somehow. some users will make sideblogs to hoard URLs. also sorry i'm just introducing this now, but that is what our usernames are called. because when tumblr was more desktop-oriented, every blog was literally a Personal Website. so ya. we call them "URLs." anyway, if someone wants to hang onto a URL for later, they might save it on an empty blog. this usually pisses people off. a "canon URL" is when someone has a URL that is like One Word or a Company Name or a Fictional character. hypothetical examples: "ketchup" "burgerking" "lukeskywalker." these are highly rare, coveted, and you look cool as hell if you have one.

tumblr's /\/SFW policy (/\/ is an N. i've censored it.) is best described as ???. posts that are safe for work get marked as /\/SFW and hardcore p0rn somehow persists. in general, be very wary of posting even artistic nvdity (even though it is supposedly permitted.) never deliberately mark your own posts as Mature. this is essentially like walking directly into a bear trap and waving a big sign at tumblr staff saying "hey! make it so people can't find my blog and i'm far more likely to get banned!" also do not tag posts with "/\/SFW." too many of those will get your entire blog marked as mature (which makes your posts pretty much invisible to other users.) tumblr users used /\/SFT (/\/ot safe for tumblr) for a long time, but staff caught on. there is now no consensus and people use their own personal tags for it. just pick something and people will catch on and blacklist it if need be. (btw you CAN type whatever you want on this website. i am only censoring in the hopes that this will allow my post to appear in the tags. this isn't tiktok lol)

while it is possible to disable reblogs on a post, this is a very RECENT addition and most users forget it exists. as such, please use common sense. if someone has written a post about, say, how sad they are feeling because they got in a fight with their family... that's not a good post to reblog. a like would be better here, like a pat on the back.

we LOVE polls. we love them. they are like sports to us. most of them are popularity polls - who is the better character? but people also use polls for, say, making bug emojis "race" each other. or "lets build a cake." other people use polls to write poetry, or learn about regional differences, or even to draw a pen!s. if you tag a poll as "poll" it will most likely be seen and voted in, because users look in the tag to find buttons to click.

there is unfortunately a T3RF (this one censored specifically to protect my notifs lmao. 3 is E) presence here. report, block, ignore, move on. common courtesy for users to inform each other if one is accidentally reblogged from. it also helps to blacklist tags related to them to avoid them. use shinigam! eyes browser extension on desktop.

there is NO equivalent to reddit awards on this website. as the userbase hates the staff, it is considered blasphemous to spend your money on checkmarks, etc. - buying them as a gift for another user is seen as a hostile act. it's like receiving a "kick-me" sign. once owned, badges cannot be deleted. thankfully, tumblr now allows you to disable checkmarks and other badges from appearing publically. that said, some users also give checkmarks unironically to show appreciation??? and others buy checks for themselves???? so yeah. tumblr doesnt actually have a verification system - these exist to mock twitter and to make a quick buck.

tumblr blaze. essentially, tumblr has a system in place to showcase user posts instead of advertisements sometimes. this is done by the user paying money. the higher the amount, the more impressions. tumblr users can now also blaze OTHER PEOPLE'S POSTS. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BLAZE DISABLED!!! blazing another person's post (without asking first) is seen as a hostile act. why? because most blazed posts result in rude comments from strangers who are annoyed to see the post on their dashboard. unless it's like, a cute picture of a cat. or something genuinely helpful. boosting your soundcloud or a selfie or a rant about fandom does not typically garner positive responses. you can blaze just like. watch out. and also always ask the OP if you want to blaze someone else's post. (there is a reason this feature is called "blaze pvp")

tumblr merch is also frowned upon, as tumblr staff steals ideas from the userbase and profits off of them without financially compensating or crediting the users. there was a meme on here, "vanilla extract", that tumblr turned into water bottles while the person who made the meme was having to fundraise to survive :(

Lil backstory : When You first got here it was around 7 months before pomni gets into the circus. your reactions to seeing all the supposed people was terrifying u were laughing your brains of since u thought it was all just a big prank but once u realized it was real u were just stunned. I mean u were still amazed like wow i'm in a virtual reality type of reaction. And about what u look like idk that up to yourself but lets say Ur like a type of animal could be a cat or something else. U were always ecstatic to be in the circus and everybody even Caine were surprised. Like it not everyday in this virtual reality u see a person who is more than happy to be there. (also i'm not really gonna add Kaufmo since their is little to no info bout him)

Okay now to the good stuff

So really your weren't stupid to not notice how Jax would occasionally "look ur way to see something else" nor to notice how differently he treated u compared to the others. Either he would go out of his way to be nice or mean to you.

You three walk all he way to the room corridors and enter Ragatha's Room and discus how you would get Jax to confess his feelings to you.

"Okay so how should we do this" says Ragatha with some confusion in her face

"Well we know that Jax is a very Um- how should I say this es stupid and lets just say hes like a little puppy who follows you around" Says zooble before you with shook face say

"WAIT what is that supposed to mean I never see him trailing behind me"

"He does he always trails behind you buts ur either dumb or blind since u never see him literary behind u. ALL THE TIME" Says Zooble

"Well um- we should get started with the plan and stop taking bout how Jax is a little twerp" Says Ragatha with a bit of an annoyed face splatted in her face

"Okay okay well first of all since we know Jax is like a little dog with nothing else to do than follow Y/n we should..........."Says Zooble spilling out what the plan would be about.

Well basically the plan is make Jax follow u around Y/n complements Jax every time he does something for her even the smallest of things like letting u have the first of anything picking up flowers for u,him pranking u and much more.

Everything was going according to the plan Jax being Jax follows you around and sneaks up on you with a centepied (which ur scared of) and lands it right besides u trying to get a scared yelp from u but instead u just threw it away and said

"Jax u little bad bunny don't do that again" while pinching his cheek just slightly

"~wait you aren't mad?" Says Jax while becoming a blushing mess

"no of course not bunny boy come on lets go outside"

you two go outside and jax keeps trying to make your way there horrible by trying to trip ur feet over and over again but failing miserably.

Once you both are by the lake you start to look around and see Zooble and Ragatha watching impatiently.

"So what are we doing here again?" says Jax

"nothing much just .. Taking in some fresh air i guess"

"Y/n there is no fresh air here u know that right?" says Jax with a serious face

"Oh um i meant like ..... space apart of everyone"

"ok i guess then what should we do?" says Jax with a sly smile appearing in his face

"how about we go on the tea cups?"

"whatever you want toots" says Jax

Both spend 2 hours trying all the rides over and over, Jax never saying crap

As the day ends in the digital realm first comes the digital dinner the classic chicken and veggies.

After that, Caine suggested that you all play a quick game, and with no other option, everybody agrees.

HIDE & SEEK

"yay i guess" says zooble clearly annoyed they have to do this activity even tho it is fun she wants her alone

After the game which took around 30 min like damn these dudes have great hiding spots ,Caine gave everybody the green light to finally have there alone time/sleep

"UGH finally" Zooble before walking up to you

"Hey Y/n did Jax say anything to you?" Says Zooble quickly before she forgets about it

"No ... what should we do?"

"Hey idk bout you but i would of totally just make the first move at this point"Says Ragatha walking up to you both of you

"Well she has a point" "bout what?" "bout how you should def make the first move now since his dumb##s won't do S#it"

"okay I'll try but do i have to do it in front of u all or do i wait for everybody to leave?"

"Um okay new plan......." Says zooble making the new plan

Basically make gangle distract Jax long enough for everybody to leave to there rooms then gangle runs away, Then y/n will sneak up on Jax and spill the beans herself.

Everything went accordingly as planed gangle ran away just as she noticed everybody gone. Then Jax shrugs it of and slowly walks up to his room until...

"Hey Jax" "what do you want?" "not much just wanna talk to you...bout something"

"bout what dollfac-"

He says before being interrupted by a kiss

"does that answer ur question?"

"UM what was that?"... bb-but i guess it does"

"that's great! its official were dating"

"Wait WHAT!?" says Jax surprised as hell

"Goodnight Jax!" Says y/n as she gives one last kiss on his cheek

He found you..a little weird and he took a disliking to your job the moment you explained your occupation as a pirate. They are one of the most common enemy to merfolk people and knowing that you were not someone who he could easily trust he kept his distances from you...He at least tried to but since you were tasked to stop his contract madness by the headmaster, you were messing with his plans over and over again. What he found even more bothersome is when you realized just how easy it was to grab his contract on the table, immediately stopping everyone else from falling into his obvious trap. And don't get me started when leona revealed that you created an entire plan that managed to defeat someone as smart as him. "No..That drunken pirate can't be the reason for this ! It's impossible !" "Not probable..actually."

Floyd 𓆜 - He likes you but you try to avoid him and his weird hugs. He especially likes the way you run away from him like the earth was tilting. "Shrimpy~ whatcha doing here ?" "Is this a dream ?" "..No ?" "I thought so, there would be rum if it was." Like you/I said before, you've once had a not so friendly experience with mermaids and Floyd was the exact example of it. The way you run away from his squeezing attempts is like that scene where Jack runs from the group of island people screaming for his life- what movie was that again there are way too many of them..

Jade 𓆞 - You avoid Jade even more, people might say he's better than his brother but you say he's a lot worse than Floyd. "So prefect..what do you think of my faglutatilia muncosh mushrooms ?" "....I wash my hands of this weirdness." proceed to run for your life. He is a menace and people will shove the idea of him being the definition of satan incarnate simply because he acts polite with a so-called friendly smile. You don't like him, though he loves to scare the crap out of you.

SCARABIA

Kalim Al-Asim ♕ - Like I said before, some students will find your behavior humorous, and in a nice way at that. Kalim is one of them, he pretty much loves to hear you talk about your adventures as a pirate and the jokes you make which are not actually jokes make him laugh so hard. He will always invite you to his dorm to have a feast, and the best part is the amount of times that you managed to convince him to bring you to his treasure room because dear lord he's that one rich best friend who will buy you a mansion even though you never even asked. During chapter 4, you pretty much pitied Kalim. He was completely heart broken at the fact that his trusted 'friend' and vice dorm leader was conspiring against him. But as someone who lives in a world where trust isn't possible, it wasn't difficult to understand him. "Listen to me Kalim..just close your eyes and think that this is all a bad dream, that'd how I get by." "Does that really work..?" "Well..to be honest..it won't work for you now that I think about it, you're too soft and way too naive...if pirates were like you they would die on day one. But that's good for you cause you ain't a pirate..know what I'm saying ?"

Jamil 𓆗 - "The deepest circle of hell is reserved for betrayers and mutineers, Jamil." those were the words you told him during your time at Scarabia, your appearance and mannerism made you look stupid and weak, but when one survives through betrayal countless of times...it isn't hard to spot untrustworthy people. You saw through his facade and he never expected it in a million years..he was suspicious of you but not once did he think you were a threat to his plan. When you managed to escape and bring back the octavinelle trio with you, he knew just how shrewd and tactical your methods were. Even after his overblot was over, you greatly disliked each other, he was the worse type of traitor and even though it was ironic for you to say so, a captain never abandons his ship...and a ship is nothing without a crew. He hated you because of how you tricked him, he especially loathes the fact that he respect your strong mind and that his admiration goes far beyond.

She was an orphan, and although she had an adopted family, she sought out more from beyond the Steppe. She enjoys helping, but I don't think she likes the word 'hero.' In her free time she paints environmental paintings, tries out her bartender friend's drink combinations, and sunbathing :)

q. Tell us a bit about your WoL! a. I'm a happy guy! Like to entertain my friends and put a smile on other people's faces. I ended up becoming a hero after following (partly) in my mother's footsteps-- she was a lancer and gave me her old lance when I wanted to leave home to adventure. It kind of broke ages ago… but I still have it! So she shouldn't be too mad about it. Hopefully, heh. Uh, anyway, I enjoy dancing and have tons of experience in managing and entertaining people since my family runs a small inn on the side of some nameless road. As for liking being a hero… it's complicated; as much as I really wish it wasn't that way. It use to be so easy and fun. Simple, even. There was still danger of course, but… I dunno. Fighting five giant ladybugs doesn't really match up in danger levels as the types of things I've been up too as of late [[<-- post EW content]]. Not to mention all the worst parts of having so much on your shoulders, things I really don't want to get into for such a fun event. B-But, don't take it as if I don't want to be a hero!! I can do it, so I want to do it. And it's not a 'If I don't do it, no one will', either. I think there are people who definitely could and would. People who have pulled way more weight through all this than I have. Even so, with all the pain and trouble I've been though, it's worth it at the end of the day. Knowing that I've helped so many people, that I have the power to keep the worst at bay, that I can make a change in the world and have that change try and be something good and positive and kind: that's what makes me like such a dangerous and oftentimes thankless job. Free time? Well, there's: dancing, cooking [[Culinarian is at level 90]], tending to my new island hangout, I've been doing LOTS of sightseeing-- Oh! I LOVE taking pictures and doing photography. Mostly of landscapes, they're just easier for me to work with than people; not to say I don't snap pictures of my friends now and again. What else… Oh! I've been taking up other crafting jobs as well since I have the spare time. It gives me something to keep my hands busy and lets me go out and collect more plants and rocks. I always liked going out to collect random stuff, but some of my older sisters, who I ended up bullied into hiring on as retainers so they could keep tabs on me away from home, got tired of me dumping popotos and iron ingots onto them to figure out how to sell en mass every week. I saw nothing wrong with it, but it really just must be me. Hmm… A lot more stuff about me is kind of personal. While I'm a rather open guy and like to chat, there's even some stuff I don't like talking about too casually or with strangers, sorry! Maybe we can be friends? I'm always open to new friends! Let's talk more sometime, okay?

Some other facts about Vastha he didn't get to cover himself: Transmasc [he/they] and gay (despite all the handsome bachelors in game, he hasn't fallen for more past a short lived crush or two.) He has 4 older sisters, making him the youngest in the family He use to be more meek and shy, which turned to 'all talk no bite', which turned out to now where he's more mellow and friendly but will not hesitate to throw hands if someone starts something He actually likes to do fetch quests because it lets him explore local areas to take more pictures Vastha comes off as a bit of a dunce and a ~stoopid widdle catboi~ to people because he likes to have fun and goof around like he use too (before all the horrors (tm) of being an adventurer). He notices, but doesn't comment on it. He'd rather people keep thinking it and underestimate him so he can prove them wrong through action. And with so much life experience now, he really doesn't care what others think of him anymore; he knows himself and that's all he can control in life. Despite being so giddy and friendly, the man does have some things he dislikes a normal degree, and other things (and people) he hates with the rage of a thousand suns-- which upon mention of will immediately switch his mood to more sour and serious. It's rare to stumble across such topics, thankfully.

and then, during her days, general gorou would whisk her away to meet new recruits and oversee their training

it seemed that many tasks began to pile up on your girlfriend, a burden only she may solve

and please do believe her when she says she misses you

because at this rate, the only times she’ll see you are during the early moments of her mornings and when she finally comes to bed

now, due to this, kokomi and you have rarely been seen with each other

which, for some unknown reason, is enough for some stupid soul to shoot her shot with you

... unfortunately, she just had to ask you out as you were bringing lunch to kokomi’s office

you tried your best to shake her off, determined to bring your girlfriend her favorite dish

but this woman was just as determined to offer herself up to you, shouting and chasing after you down the halls to kokomi’s office

of course, kokomi hears this

sensing something amidst, kokomi opens her door to find her loving partner storming down the hallway to her

... with a woman following after you, practically shouting her “undying” love for you

kokomi involuntarily lets out a very loud scoff as you reach her side, and she steps between you and your new admier

eventually, kokomi realizes pretty quickly what had happened as this woman continues to explain her point on why you should date her

nonchalantly, kokomi slides a hand over your waist and brings you to her side

she explains calmly, although her tone has a passive aggressive edge to it, that you are her partner and you’re not interested

as your courter begins to rant, kokomi pulls you in for a heated kiss

as if the woman was never there, she then pulled you into her office and slammed her door

absolutely deflates into a beet-red puddle, hiding in the crook of your neck as embarrassment consumes her

“i’m sorry, i’ve never done that before! sh-she just made me so mad and she wasn’t listening and— y-you’re okay right? good. o-oh, is that for me? sweetie, you’re too kind. could you maybe... sit down and eat with me, just for a while? tell me about your morning, please.”

MOST ACTIVE MUSE(S)?　Faye lol. Idk why I ever try RPing others. I'll be good for a while but I always come back to this idiot

◈　RP PET PEEVES?　I have a few but of course, I don't remember the majority now that I'm asked about it. But the main one is when I see someone complaining about not getting any interactions or anything and you and others have been liking starter/plot calls or sending memes over and over and nothing ever comes from it. In my own personal experience, the person crying about not getting interactions is only looking for it with a certain follower(s) but won't try and initiate the interaction. It's understandable if you legit are struggling for interactions and you get crickets but when it's clear people are trying to interact...man that grinds my gears. It's extremely inconsiderate and I usually bounce when I see that. Another thing is one-sided plotting/RPing. I usually always try and come up with a few ideas, even if they're basic or the usual trope because sometimes they turn into something exciting but this also depends on both people being open to trying to keep it moving. It's no fun when one person isn't giving anything to work with. Though, sometimes one person will have a good idea and can lead but again it needs some help from the other person. I have others I'm sure, but these are the two main ones. I like to think I'm pretty chill.

EXPERIENCE / HOW MANY YEARS　Close to 2 decades probably. I've been RPing since gaiaonline and AOL/Skype

FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT　 All of it, I think there's a time and place for each. I do tend to prefer angst because I love character development and pushing characters to their breaking points and seeing them go beyond their limits or reacting in high-stress situations. I love it when they discover new things about themselves. Fluff is fun for shorter threads when you need something light hearted in between the angst lol. And then smut...well I'm so out of practice I refuse to even have it on my main blog lol. I don't need to embarrass myself. I think it's fine and fun but I do get tired of it if that's all there is. Again, I'm here for the character development.

PLOTS OR MEMES　 Either. I don't have a preference but I try and see what my partners prefer. Sometimes things work better when you plot things out so you have an idea to follow but sometimes, especially with new interactions its easier to just have a random meme. I also feel like sometimes it may take a few tries before you find the right thing that clicks for a good thread or character interaction.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES　 Depends on the day. Sometimes it's nice to have a shorter reply but I do admit sometimes they're hard for me to do because I want to make sure there's enough going on to keep a thread going. But sometimes the brain just doesn't want to work so longer threads, even if I'm super excited for it just don't happen.

TIME TO WRITE　Whenever I get the chance lol. Sometimes its easier in the morning because I haven't used all my brain power but its so rare I can even do so I take what I can get.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S)　As far as Faye? Uhh...only a little bit lol. Mainly just her love of the ocean and space and the fact we're both red heads. But she's way more wild/reckless than I am and gives less fucks about what others think or say about her. She also is always looking for trouble to get into while I prefer to fly under the radar. My other muse I currently play on a different blog is also a level headed doctor so I guess with him we're both chill and love pineapple lmao. Even characters in the past I've only shared one or two things. I dunno, I deal with myself on the daily and would rather explore something different than myself. Obviously, I need some things to align so I can understand the character but eh.

1. 🧡 Dan Wilds🦊- (I'll be using he/him pronouns bc of my trans hc :3 )

🐾 um Adam Parrish to the max. Getting all his money taken by his family and then cutting them off as soon as possible? "Trailer trash"? I couldn't believe the similarities. Bc of this he Hates for his space to get to messy. He's always going around picking up after his friends (unless he's drunk, then he sits in Matt's lap and doesn't worry about it).

🐾He likes Italian food the best

🐾Unironic pop music lover and will launch into a rant about how the 2000s were the best time for pop music

🐾Motherfucker who wears athletic wear exclusively

🐾 His tiktoks have vine energy bc he has an impeccable sense of when they boys are about to do something funny

🐾He likes to be organized but doesn't bother with a planner - he's a rebel like that. Besides what's on the calendar in the foxhole court lounge he keeps it all in his head (but he does utilize sticky notes)

🐾Matt is his peace. Matt knows when to stand up for him and when to be quiet (but Dan gives him hints by squeezing his nails into him).

🐾One time he did this sort of Gus Waters (tfios) thing where he laid down on the dorm floor and pretended to be dead and had everyone give an impromptu eulogy. He played it off as a joke but Matt suspected he was trying to get some reassurance about his place in the world.

🐾Despite sidestepping his own feelings, he's one of the more articulate and careful when it comes to helping his teammates. He has an uncanny ability to sense exactly what someone's struggling with emotionally and bring it up tactfully, like Neil taking too many classes

🐾Many things rage trigger him. Stupid people in class mostly, but he tries to keep it in check by ranting to Matt or the group chat when he feels like it would be a waste of time to yell at whoever he's mad at.

🐾Matt and Wymack are good to push and shove if he needs a physical outlet. They're also good to curl up to when Dan inevitably breaks down crying after a rage episode.

🐾I once saw a tiktok of a stripper that was like "when men give me all their money and think they're in love with me but I'm just a little autistic boy in a wig". Yeah thats him. I feel like him and Seth make out when they're drunk!!! I'm sorry I want this to be them

Dan and Allison both support it so they have a reason to tell Seth to shut the fuck up when he gets on Nickys case.

🐾Instead of a purse she carries a little backpack, maybe even a stuffed animal one, and always has a pocket for survival supplies. Bandaids, a knife, a lighter, even matches. It makes Dan feel safe to know that she's prepared (Dan won't carry a bag because he's Masc™).

Hello! It’s park Ranger here and I’m making a blog to house one of my newest obsessions haha! The Stanley parable haha I plan to post a lot of art/my own lore or interpretations/ocs

I’ve really gotten into the game and have fallen over the idea and seeing peoples artwork has made me hype haha!

For the most part he keeps himself and his hair looking neat and presentable. His stars still stick away around and mostly hover near his headphones. He has a lil tail and mouse ears still too

But that can change pretty quickly if he feels he’s been slighted when mad he starts to get petty and complain and will go out of his way to annoy and will do mostly anything to get some control back.

-He can only really use his powers when in his true form other wise he’s out of luck. He dose not really have control over the times he changes forms it’s a bit random and has left him in very dire situations.

-Over the many stories and resets the narrator and Stanley have reached an understanding with each other and at most times are cordial and willing to cooperate with the others whims(most of the time)

- His most embarrassing moment is him writing the 200 page bucket plot that made him and Stanley look like idiots

-has opened up to making new stories and places Stanley can go and his office is mostly a hub for the two. They honestly goof around a lot now or relax while Elliot makes new stories

Not one to scare easily he’ll stand his ground no matter the cost and will take extreme measures to get control back, pain rarely bothers him and sometimes he takes joy in it very rarely tho.

But when he gets to relax or wind down he’s pretty chill and nice to be around he dose have feelings of caring and will feel guilt if he genuinely thinks he’s hurting someone he cares about. He loves to cause a bit of mischief here and there as well.

-He’s not exactly sure why he ended up in this place with the narrator and the other won’t elaborate either. He has no memory if he had an old life but he really doesn’t care anymore. He dose wish he could get away and do things he wants to. But he’s content for the most part to play story piece as long as his adventures get changed up once in a while.

-has definitely lost his mind at one point and very much went on a patch of self destruction and breaking anything he could in rage. He will admit it was his lowest moment.

-he actually dose like some of the stories nar dose but will pretend most time they suck or are okay sometimes he is honest tho.

-He actually really liked the bucket plot it was so dumb and ridiculous it still makes him laugh and he brings it up as nars best work in jest.

-he dose actually care for narrator a lot and is willing to go along with things to hear him be happy most of the time.

-they’ve both understood that they can’t be at each other’s throats all the time and must cooperate tho it doesn’t stop negan from doing irritating things every once in a while.

-he really likes it when nar takes human form mostly because he can mess with him without immediate retaliation but it’s also fun to hang out and work on things.

- he has really completely feelings for the guy that flip on a dime. Like they could be best buddies then mortal enemies

-he actually really likes listening to him when he’s angry or he decides to go villan mode or just him on a power trip. The narrator can get very entertaining to him when pushed.

-he can transform into a cat but it’s rare he dose.

Timekeeper (they don’t appear much lol )

The timekeeper is an oddball

They’re mostly around whenever the narrators watch is able to gain sentience and then it’s chaos from these lol.

The nar is not able to do any resets on his own when this guy is out and they have to chase him down to revert him to a reg watch again

He dose not like that lol

There’s not really much to em tbh haha he’s just an oddball who really doesn’t get or do much pfft

Time is a pretty nice if not chaotic and pretty hyperactive.

They really love pizza a lot too like a lot

Next up the glitch (they appear very rarely)

One of the most dangerous entities in the office.

They only really appear when a bad glitch happens. This glitch revolves around the narrator and him messing with something causing his powers to separate from himself and gain sentience.

While his powers are spilt he’s just like Stanley and basically a human

While this entity is made up of his powers it has a mind of its own and it hates and downright despises him for being so “weak” and stupid with his powers.

It goes out of its way to hurt the narrator and always rough him up in someways and has attempted murder on occasion.

It’s main goal whenever it’s out is to try and possess Stanley seeing him as worthy for his powers. He has used the narrator as bait before as they know he cares for him somewhat.

It is possible to defeat him by glitching/resetting a specific way but it’s always a hassle and has a low success at working lucky the glitch is only a rare occurrence

And lastly the curator!(diane)

The curator is a very reserved figure. For the most part she is always calm and collected with a calculated stare.

When she speaks it’s usually with authority and a stern motherly tone. She’s no nonsense and doesn’t like disputes or fights.

She’s consider the boss/one really in charge and ranks high above the narrator in power and authority but she doesn’t really do much and is always in her little museum doing something the others aren’t quite sure of. She’s not one to really help unless it’s like extremely dire and quite literally will perma kill.

She keeps a lot of different things and not just stuff to the nars story in her museum.

She doesn’t show it or say it much but she enjoys the nars story’s a lot and is a fan of pretty much anything he dose for the most part. She thinks it’s cute he gets invested so much into it. And will sometimes if he’s in a bind with one will assist.

i dont see enough love for army coroika

so here's some (read, a lot) of my army headcanons

a lot of these are even more projection than my rider ones

tw for some religious mentions but there's only 2 and it's not too elaborated on

-He's non binary and transmasc, and uses he/it pronouns (mostly he/him). Someone called him they/them once and he panicked. he's also biromantic and demisexual

-LET 👏 ARMY 👏 SAY 👏 FUCK 👏. Let him swear without people making a big deal of it. People can be overly organized and still be "improper", and even "proper" people should be aloud to swear. In my headcanon, Army swears like a fucking sailor- just not when he's in public but not many of the gang swear in public. Though he did once stub his toe on a curb when he was wearing sandals and let out a legendary string of curses

-His accent is a mix of Scottish and British, mostly British, and he frequently uses British slang. When he gets mad, his accent slowly shifts to be more Scottish until he sounds like Demoman from TF2. Even Army doesn't know why this is but he thinks its hilarious

-THEATER KID

-fun fact i uh. i think i started somethin with that headcanon. ill tell the story if anyone's interested

-Also, he's a drag queen! The others dont know but. aloha has gone to some of his shows not knowing it was Army. His drag name is Vivien Von Fox. yes i came up with this on the spot. you come up with a better name for a theater kid drag queen who really likes foxes

-touch starved. this man has so many blankets that bury him like every night, and a boyfriend to hold him

-Has very, VERY bad religious trauma and anxiety in general. He's in therapy for it

-He has a big fear of needles so he takes T in gel form. He's also had top surgery!

-he and aloha are totally married

-He's never really had a good relationship with his dad (he was a mama's girl growing up though), so he is very clingy to Avi, the father figure of the S4. Avi has taught him things a normal dad would- how to tie a tie, how to use a grill, and he's also teaching Army how to bake, since Avi loves to bake and Army loves cooking in general

-He can actually handle spice really well unlike most Brits. The three things he can't handle are coffee, cheese, and chocolate, unless the chocolate is very dark. He will drink hot chocolate though, he quite likes that

-He's tried alcohol exactly once in his life-excluding communion wine. He has never drank it again

-Surprisingly, Army's a dog person. He had a yellow lab growing up and he adored her. He's always wanted a great dane or some other big dog that'd make him feel safe. But he also likes cats

-He's a bit pudgy and he's learning to accept it as he used to absolutely hate it

-he's covered in freckles!!!

-He's 1/4 firefly squid and 3/4 mimic octoling. Essentially, he looks fully octo, but the firefly squid in him make a few-not many- of his freckles glow

-He has a birthmark shaped like a bird on his stomach. He kinda likes it and has named it Aria

lee ramblies rambly rambles rambling in a ramblying way with some deep thinky rambling thoughts

it's kinda nice no longer having friends who see me as "Man" and it's more fun to enjoy girls without them saying i'm acting like every creepy man towards girls/am no different from a straight guy if I simply say a girl is pretty or have one as a phone background or whatever. so I always ignored girls and avoided them and didn't acknowledge them basically because what these people said made me feel gross. I just always felt a big sense of GAY and straight feel not correct when applied to me so it was confusing. ( normalize not knowing your gender/sexuality solidly at all times because it's fluid. but that's a different convo )

i'm some kind of gender that's trans. I did some kind of transition to find something comfy for me that's more androgynous and also needed to get rid of my body's hormones because they made me sick and surgery for that requires transition. I experimented with gender and stuff. but settled on nonbinary. had many past friends decide because I said i'm not exactly girl that means i'm Man when i'm some sort of nonbinary. i'm neither. but i'm way less Man than girl (also why is phone capitalizing Man lmao stop) I guess i'm more closer to femme nonbinary?

when admiring girls, it's not in a man way. it's way closer to a leabian way. it feels more right to see me as nonbinary lesbian than straight man like some past friends tried to push on me after telling them i'm trans or especially while trying out he/him pronouns to see how that felt. they/them is starting to feel the best and i tell new people to use those. wouldn't be mad being called nonbinary-they/them-lesbian roght now tbh. better than being called a man lmao

but is also nkt completely correct. i'm aroace as far as I know. so maybe nonbinary aroace lesbian vibes.

could partially be because I some dissociative nonsense in my brain and possibly alters and one seems to be a super lesbian and one is nonbinary lesbian. there's androgynous gay boy but he hides in shadows and never comes out anymore. rest are simply aroace so the lesbians hold most of the power in this house and are usually the ones posting on this blog but still not sure if i'm making it up or they really exist you know haha idk who I am🙃

I followed a person who like 99% of his content(or at least the content that gets pushed the most) is him putting Bigots on blast on who tried to be antisemetic towards him when he's not even Jewish or just said nasty shit on his pages in general about anyone or if they have obvious dogwhistles on their profile.

He was recntley sexually harassed online and when he said "that's weird to say to a stranger" she started insulting him so he put her on blast. Which. Sure. Could be alarming but this is his whole platform.

Like he does with EVERYONE who is an sack of shit in his general vacinity. But suddenly people were crying in the comments that it was wrong and she's "clearly mentally ill" like no she's a grown adult she shouldn't send unwarranted sexual messages to the "puts assholes on blast" person?? She'll live. People were even like "You're just mad you got your ego bruised!!" And I'm like no he's mad because she went full incel on him???

Like we can argue the ethics of this, fine. But you can't decide that just this one time he's evil for outing someone being a piece of shit???

It's one thing to be like "maybe he shouldn't be putting people on blast" it's another thing to be fine with it until he does it to a pwoor dwefwenseless woman harassing him.

You don't get to pick and choose which grown adults are responsible for their own actions and which grown adults you protect for being put on blast for harassment sorty.

It's not like she rejected him and he got pissy. He literally said maybe don't harass people and she went full incel lmao.

Like and ppl wonder why men don't talk about their abuse lmao.

It's because we can't. Not even far away from women talking about their abuse. It's always turned back on us about how we're the real evil ones here or how we're "talking over women" even in our own space.

I've had (mostly white) women come onto my personal untagged posts on various social media about being abused and tell me not to talk over women or that I must have been abusive first to make her treat me like that.

EDIT: I forgot he mentioned possibly being nonbinary once so many apologies for calling him a guy and I I edited that out but his pronouns are any of the big 3 so I left he/him but ill switch it up in the future if I ever talk about her again. Though them being masc presenting is relevant. Summary: (Y/n)’s so used to being the background character in everyone’s story that she forget she can be the main character in her own.

Warnings: Slight angst but majority fluff!

A/N: I love this man with my whole being omg pls

Stumbling into Wonderland with Alice had been a wonderful thing for not only Alice, but (Y/n) as well. For Alice it was an escape from all the things she didn’t wanna do and would never wanna do. She wasn’t forced to marry some sod of a guy who’d make her miserable for the rest of her life or to be the proper lady she was expected to be, but instead she got a taste of freedom. And although it was an escape for (Y/n) as well, it was an escape of a different kind.

In the other world, with it’s dreary skies and monotonous patterns and cycles, (Y/n) lived a very humdrum life. Her family had never been as fortunate as Alice in any ways of the sorts, it was a miracle that they were friends to begin with. Alice’s father had been friends with (Y/n)’s since boyhood and because of that, he always made sure they knew they were welcome to anything of his that they wished. And while (Y/n)’s father had never taken advantage of that from the way Alice’s mother treated (Y/n) and her family, it wouldn’t be hard to think otherwise.

When Charles was still around, she hadn’t done anything out of line. The older woman always kept to herself, occasionally having an afternoon cup of tea with her own mom. However, her true colors and feelings came to light after the passing of her husband. During the next few months after her husband’s absence, the (L/n)s were there for Kingsleighs. Although they didn’t have the funds to help them monetarily (for they also didn’t need it), they offered their labor and services to the two as much as they needed. Farm work, house cleaning, garden maintenance. Anything you could think they had done. But as soon as Helen was well (as well as you could be after losing someone so dear) , she had forbid them from coming to their property. She didn’t believe her and Alice should associate with people of “such low stature” because it didn’t “align with their image”. But that had never stopped Alice.

Anywhere Alice went, (Y/n) was always there by her side right along with her. They practically went everywhere together and that hadn’t changed since they arrived in Wonderland. (Y/n) was grateful that she had chased after her friend. It was like she knew something would happen. Afterall, crazy things always happen when you put two curious girls together for more than a moment. The friends they had made since they arrived were nothing short of lovely. She knew her sister would describe them as odd characters and disturbing individuals. Telling her to stay far away from them and to not associate herself with those types. But what was wrong with being odd or even disturbing? The only things worth doing in life were a bit odd and disturbing and if that made her peculiar than so be it.

For the first time in her life, she felt as though she belonged. Sure, it wasn’t her story nor her destiny to be here as it was Alice but that did not mean she did not appreciate Wonderland for what it was. The story had never been her story, not here, and certainly not where they were from. Alice was the main chat and she was the topic that would get trickled in after.

“Everyone has a part to play, (Y/n). Even if it is not large or as set in stone, each person’s role is necessary for the story to progress, even yours. You’ll see.” the words of that tricky caterpillar replayed in her head over and over again whenever she had a moment to think. What had he meant by that? Was her story not more than to be here in support of her dearest friend and the latest edition to their friends? Was she not just a tool in the scheme of things? (Y/n) had never known people of lesser importance as herself to contribute much of anything big to a legacy as large as Alice’s!

From her end of the table, she watched as Hatter threw his hat high into the air before it landed on his head causing everyone to erupt in a jostled mess of laughter and cheering. She smiled fondly from a far. Tarrant was a kind man. No matter what was going on or where they were, he always had a way of making her feel included. That’s just who he was. He had known what it was like to feel excluded from things and the last thing he’d wanna do is be the cause of that for someone else. But it was nothing more than his nature, that’s it.

“You know, you should just tell him how you feel.” a velvety voice sounded from beside her ear causing her to jump. The (h/c) haired girl glared at the purple cat, reaching a hand to swat him away but he disappeared once more before appearing on her other side. “He watches you often, even when there is not many around to see. But I always do of course.” The Cheshire cat said in a sure tell tone. The girl scoffed at him, shoving another small pastry into her mouth.

“I’m not in the mood for one of your jokes today, cat. So if you’ve come to mock my feelings during my 2nd to last day in Wonderland, I wish you well and send you off.” she huffed out, crossing her arms across her chest, turning her gaze away from him back to Tarrant who was already looking at her. The Hatter gave her a secret wink and a smile before turning back to the March Hare who seemed rather frazzled about something. Or perhaps excited. But once again, the grinning cat appeared in front of her face once more.

“Silly girl, you ignore the plain truth in front of you? I can see why you and Alice get along so well, both of you can be quite foolish. Oh well, the story isn’t over yet after all.” and with that he was gone. What did he mean by that? The story was clearly over. Alice had done what she set out to do. The Jabberwocky had been slain, the White Queen ruled once again, and all had been made well. And what was with everyone with stories? Not everything you can do will always be a story and not every story comes to an end. She decided not to dwell much on it. This was her last night she’d ever spend in Wonderland and she’d rather like to keep it in good memory.

So when the White Queen offered her a hand to dance she took it, their dresses swaying in the wind in oppositional unison. They all danced with one another, twirling, laughing, and having a grand time. The entire time the smile never once left (Y/n)’s face which a certain hatted man enjoyed with all his being.

“I can’t believe you’re leaving today. It seems as if it was only yesterday when you arrived.” the girl swiveled around to see the red head there, a bittersweet smile on his face. His smile grew once she turned to face him. Removing his hat, he bowed as he grabbed one of her hands placing a delicate kiss to the top of it. “I am delighted to have known a woman as graceful as you.” hot tears sprung into her eyes which she quickly got rid of before he stood up. Giggling some she hopped onto the large sit swing, motioning for him to join her.

“Don’t get sad yet, Hatter. I’ve still got a few hours left. You can’t rid of me that easily.” he joined her on the swing, a wide grin still on his face. Although it was partly real, she could tell there was some sadness lingering behind it. (Y/n) turned her gaze to the sight in front of them. From the large benched swing, you could see just about all of wonderland over the edge of the cliff. “Besides, there’s not much to miss. I’m just me.”

“And ‘just you’ is a lot! I’ll miss everything about you. The way you mimic the bird calls you hear, the way you get excited when the rock you skipped across the water goes further than you imagined,” she looked at him in shock as he continued to speak, “E-even the smaller things like how you leave the crust of your sandwich for last and give your crumbs to the ants. But I think more importantly I’ll...I’ll just miss your presence.” he said the last part softly, staring off the edge of the cliff to avoid her gaze. A million thoughts raced through her heads as he spoke. Could it really be? Could he really share the same feelings as she did? (Y/n) reached a shaky (s/c) hand to lay on top of Hatter’s pale one, intertwining their fingers.

“Hatter, I've got something to tell you. During my time here in Wonderland, I’ve enjoyed every second I’ve had with everyone. But more importantly, I’ve enjoyed my time so much with you and I believe it’s only fair to share with you that my feelings I have for you go beyond those of normal friendship. I guess you can say I’ve grown...quite mad for you.” his head whipped to face her as he stared into her eyes, tears welling within his own. He flashed her another smile except this one was genuine, filled with the love and warmth he had shown her the entirety of her time in Wonderland.

“(Y/n)! Alice sent me to fetch you. I’m afraid it’s time for the two of you to head back.”

After a lot of shedded tears, heartfelt speeches, and goodbyes that were nothing short of wholesome, it was time for the two to head home. Alice patted (Y/n)’s shoulder before holding her arm out for her to grab. As they neared the portal, (Y/n) turned around once more to stare at her friends but when she got to Tarrant, her heart began to break. The gaze they held with one another was long until she simply couldn’t take it. Without thinking she ran up to him once more, grabbing his shoulders tightly.

“Hatter, Tarrant, I need to know how you feel. I couldn’t live with myself if I left and never knew.” he shook his head, looking away from her as he tried to stop the waterworks that were withheld behind the dam. Hot tears streamed down the delicate skin of the girl’s face. “Hatter...please.” her voice was broken as she begged.

“I believe I wasn’t honest myself either. I am completely enamored by you, my dear. I wish I had said something sooner but even though I couldn’t, I’ll always hold a special place for you in here.” he said, placing a hand over his heart. Standing on the tips of her toes, she leaned forward placing a quick peck to his cheek.

“What if it isn’t too late? What if I stayed?” she started, watching as he shook his head, “Hatter listen! You may think I’d regret if I stay but I think I would regret even more not following my heart the first time it’s ever tried to tell me something. Nothing would make me happier than staying here with you...that is if you’d allow it.” a silence fell over as everyone awaited his answer. Without another thought Hatter leaned down, pressing his lips to hers. The kiss was soft and sweet. Filled with a silent promise, a silent vow to care for her as deeply as his heart will allow.

“I do not know what I did to get so lucky, but I would do it again if needed.” she felt herself grow flustered at his words. A quick peck was placed on his lips before walking over to Alice once again. The blonde had tears of her own in her eyes. She was glad her friend had found something to fight for, something to call her own. But also for the first time in many years, they would not see each other everyday as they once did. They both stared at each other before throwing themselves into each other's arms, laughing in unison as bittersweet tears fell.

“Good luck. Make sure you put your foot down. You’re Alice! You listen to no one and march to no one’s drum but your own.” Alice gave her a curt nod.

“Take care. We’ll meet again, do not doubt it.”

Although Alice’s story had seemingly come to an end, it seemed as though (Y/n)’s story was just beginning. For once she wasn’t the side character in someone’s tale, but the main character in her own.
