Ughhhhhh I love being me but after too long hanging out with normal people and adults and I’m like hmm maybe my bedroom walls being covered in stuff like that is childish and maybe everything I like is forming an invisible wall between me and other people because I can’t be normal about media but it’s all I focus on like I feel like I have no social skills outside of smiling and nodding while high and eventually everyone I like is going to get sick of me because I act like a child

warnings : smut, filthy matthew
It’s been a while since I’ve gotten my nails done, and I so badly want to go get them done right now. However, bills exist and with my roommate moving out, everything’s been piled on top of me all at once. It’s stressful to say the least, but I just need to find my footing. It’s not that I can’t afford it, I just have a really bad spending habit, that I didn’t realize is an actual issue until a couple of weeks ago. I used to just work, pay my portion of the bills, save a bit of money, then blow the rest of it on whatever I wanted. Now, I just have to learn to budget.
Saying that, I’ve not really been going out of my way to splurge on things that make me feel good. I’ll get back to eventually, but unfortunately, I can’t afford to right now.
Despite knowing that I should focus on getting my money right, I can’t help but look into my spare cash, crossing my fingers in hopes that I have enough. Before I can even begin counting, my phone flashes and vibrates, indicating I have a new notification.
Matt sent you $100 for your nails❣️.
My eyes widen, a gasp leaving my mouth as I read the words displayed on the screen. Immediately, I’m facetiming Matt.
“Hey.” He answers, instantly, a knowing grin on his lips.
“Don’t ‘hey’ me mister. Why did you just send me money?” I question, glaring at him through the screen.
“Hmm. I’m pretty sure I said it’s for your nails.” He answers, then continues, “You can say you don’t need it all you want, but I know how bad you’ve been wanting to get them done. And if you haven’t, then you just can’t right now. Which is why I wanna do it for you.”
“Matt-“
He cuts me off, “Y/N, shut up and accept my offering. Come over after you get them done?”
“Fine.” I sigh, giving in.
“Great, I can’t wait to see them. Maybe then you can show me just how thankful you are.” He suggests, his lips wide with a smirk.
My jaw drops at his proposal, completely bewildered at his comment, the underlying meaning far from missed. I can’t help but bite my lip as I look away from the screen, my skin ultimately flushing.
“I already scheduled your appointment with Analysse. She’ll be there in fifteen. I expect to see you no later than an hour and a half.” He informs me.
“Yes sir.” I say, unable to prevent the smile that pulls itself to my lips. “Thanks, Matty.”
“Of course, doll. I’ll see you soon.”
With that, we hang up and I’m left to sit in my puddle of confusion and eagerness. Matt and I are only friends. There’s always times where we’re flirty and we’ve always been close, physical touch being our love language. However, his actions and statements today threw me for a loop. I’m sure I’m not misinterpreting it, he seemed very suggestive. Honestly, I don’t even mind that, I just don’t know if he’s only messing with me or if he’s serious. I guess I’ll find out soon enough.
“Hey babe, how are you doing?” Analysse greets me, unpacking her supplies.
“I’ve been good, just learning to adjust to new things. How have you been? I feel like it’s been ages since I last seen you.” I reply, sitting on the opposite side of the desk.
“I know! It’s been so long! I’ve been great though. Just living life and doing what I love.” She nods, a smile blossoming on her face.
“That’s amazing, I’m glad to hear.”
“Thank you. So, what are we thinking?” She asks me, all her supplies laid out in front of us.
“Probably just a simple red, maybe like medium length. Hm, not too long but long enough to leave marks.” I explain, smirking at the thought of digging my nails into Matt’s back.
“Ouu, okay.” She giggles, grabbing my hands to prep my nails. “So, are we talking about Matt? I mean, he is the one that reached out to me to book this appointment for you.”
I can’t help the warmth that rushes to my cheeks, “Yeah, I’ve been wanting to get my nails done again. Life just hasn’t been working in my favor.” She nods in understandment, listening to me rant. “Let’s just say, he’s got me thinking about a lot.”
Her mouth opens, laughter pouring out of it, “Oh, I get you. We’ve all had one of those.”
We continue talking and sharing stories as she does my nails. The conversation goes from boys, to makeup, to careers, to food, and just about everything under the sun. Once she’s done, I pay and tip her, and bid her on her way.
Since I still have some time before I have to be over at Matt’s, I decide to take a shower to freshen up. Seeing as I really only had around an extra thirty minutes, I decide to make it quick. I swiftly wash up and rinse off, hurrying out to dry off and get dressed. After applying deodorant and lotion, I slip on my shoes and grab my phone and keys, then I’m out the door.
It only takes me eight minutes to get to Matt’s house, so when I arrive, I’m eagerly making my way inside. We’ve been friends for eons, hence why I have my own key. Upon walking in, I instantly make my way upstairs and head back to his room. As soon as I open his door, his attention is on me.
“You’re late.” He states, his voice stern.
“Only by four minutes.” I shrug, joining him on his bed.
“Four minutes is still late.” He points out, raising an eyebrow at me.
“Won’t happen again, I promise.” I grin, tossing my hands up in defense.
He doesn’t say anything, only smirks as he grabs my hands to observe the nails he paid for. He plays with my fingers, looking at each individual nail, as if inspecting to see if there were any flaws. They were perfect.
“I love them, they look good.” He tells me, his voice now husky.
I look from my hands to his face, his eyes already being on me. His hands never leave my own, his warm fingers brushing back and forth over mine. The intensity of his stare has me clenching my thighs together in need. I don’t knew where this is coming from, but I want him bad.
“They’d look even better wrapped around my cock.” He whispers, his voice deep and raspy, placing one of my hands on his lap.
Only then, did I notice the growing bulge beneath his pants. His cargos now restricting his hard on, keeping it caged in below the fabric. I could feel him pulsating through the clothing, his erection rock solid. My mouth opened and close, suddenly unable to find words to speak.
“Don’t you want to show me how grateful you are?” He taunts, his gaze unwavering.
“Did you have a favor in mind?” I ask, licking my lips as I attempt to swallow in hopes of lubricating my now dry throat.
“Mhm.” He hums, standing up from the bed. He stands directly in front of me, his hands slowly working his belt off. “I want your pretty little mouth around my cock.”
I could feel my underwear becoming more and more soaked, my arousal seeping out of my pussy, completely and utterly turned on. His hand reaches my chin, gripping my jaw as he pulls me up from the bed, before dropping me to my knees. His thumb rubs against my lips before forcing itself in my mouth. I suck on it, my mouth immediately salivating from this situation I find myself in. He removes his thumb, dragging it down my bottom lip, letting it bounce back up as he moves to remove his shirt. I watch in awe, his lean torso flexing with every movement. Next, he unbuttons his pants. Once he pulls them and his boxers down, his dick slaps up, bouncing off of his lower abdomen. I’ve never been this intimate with Matt, meaning I’ve never seen his dick before, and boy was it something.
“Like what you see, pretty girl?” He teases, his hand engulfing his shaft and jerking it a couple of times. “Get over here and make me feel good until I say you can stop.”
I can’t help but frantically nod, instinctively scooting closer to him, eager to take his member into my mouth. One of his hands goes around my head, entangling in my hair, while the other one takes his dick and slaps it onto my lips, leaving drops of his precum behind. My tongue immediately flicks over my lips, taking the traces of him into my mouth, leaving him to toss his head back as a groan leaves his throat.
“Open.” He states, his hand pulling my jaw down.
As soon as my lips are parted wide enough, he’s shoving his entire length down my throat, pulling a gag from me. From his rough thrusts, my mouth is producing enough saliva to coat his dick, strings of spit connecting him to me once he pulls out. He then sets his tip on my lips, nodding at me to get to work, so I do.
My tongue swirls around his head, licking over his slit, causing him to tighten his grip in my hair and involuntarily buck his hips, his dick prodding at my mouth from the movement. I wrap my lips around him once more, my tongue continuously twirling around him, before taking as much as I could of him into my mouth, using my hands on the rest of him that wouldn’t fit. Peering up at him through my eyelashes, I see his brows furrowed in pleasure, his bottom lip held between his teeth.
“Fuck. You’re so pretty, doll.” He moans, running a hand across my cheek. “Sucking me so good, baby.”
I hum around his length, accepting his praise. Throaty moans continue to escape his mouth, encouraging me more as the desire in me burns hotter. I pull away from him completely, then take all of him in my mouth, deep throating him as much as I can without dying. His free hand wraps around my throat, making the feeling of his dick going down my throat all the more noticeable. He starts thrusting, matching my speed, his hips now sputtering as more lewd sounds come from his mouth.
He quickly pulls away, tugging me back by his grip on my hair. “Strip.”
I eagerly obliged, nerves building in my stomach, anticipating what’s to come. It didn’t take long for me to remove my outer clothing, leaving me in my bra and panties as his hungry eyes bore into me.
“Strip.” He repeats, his tone more demanding.
Without breaking eye contact, I reach back and unclasp my bra, letting it fall down my arms before falling to the floor with other clothes. The cool air hit my nipples, the buds hardening in response. I watch as Matt’s eyes follow my every move, soaking in every gesture. My fingers slip in the waistband of my panties, slowly tugging them downwards as I continue shimmying out of them, kicking them off my feet. Matt’s hand is now around his cock, stroking it as he watches me, intently.
“My turn.” He whispers, pulling me against him, skin to skin.
His mouth meets mine in a hot kiss, excitement bubbling between us. He walks me a few steps backwards, pushing me back on his bed and climbing on top of me. Our lips lap one another’s, before he’s shoving his tongue in my mouth, exploring behind my lips. We move together in such a hot and steamy way, his hands touching every part of me as my hands lace through his hair. His mouth then moves down my jaw, dragging open mouth kisses across my skin, leaving a trail saliva in his wake. My breathing was heavy, small whimpers coming through as he sucks and nibbles my sweet spot.
His hands then intertwine with mine, bringing my fingertips to his lips, pressing soft kisses against them. “I can’t wait to see the damage you do with these.”
He starts kissing down my chest, keeping his hands interlocked with mine. His mouth nips and bites at my skin, goosebumps spreading over me. He takes my nipple into his mouth, twirling his tongue around it, his teeth grazing over it, causing a sharp gasp like moan to come from my mouth. He moves on to the next one, repeating the same action. My legs squeeze shut, attempting to relieve the tension that keeps building and building with every little thing.
“Matt, please.” I whisper, attempting to grind against him for friction, to which he only presses his hands onto my hips to hold me in place.
“Shh, baby.” He mutters against my skin, lowering himself to my navel, his tongue leaving a stripe of spit.
His mouth meets my thighs, going back and forth between the two, peppering wet kisses all over them. His half lidded eyes meet mine, a smirk making its way to his face as he blew air onto my center, causing me to thrash beneath him. Instantly, his tongue is between my folds, pulling a loud moan from me as my hands return to his hair, tugging ever so slightly. He licks up and down my core, sucking all of my juices along the way. His tongue prods at my entrance, poking in and out, before he goes back up and wraps his lips around my clit.
“F-fuck, feels so good, Matty.” I whimper, thrusting my hips up for more.
His hands press down on my hips again, his grip now tight, holding me in place. His mouth continues lapping me, his tongue flicking every which way, bringing me closer to the edge. One of his hands leave my waist, his fingers meeting my heat. He slides them up and down, lubricating them before pressing two of them into my entrance. A loud moan falls from my mouth, my body jerking as he begins fucking me with his fingers. His mouth focuses on my clit, sucking with his warm tongue continuously flicking over it. His fingers pumping in and out of me, my arousal evident from the sounds emitting from my core and my mouth.
“I’m so close.” I moan out, pushing down into him.
Unfortunately, he pulls away, completely removing himself from me, a whine of desperation coming from my lips. He hovers back over me, his mouth pressing onto mine, my juices traveling from his mouth to mine as he kisses me hard.
“We’re gonna cum together, princess.” He says, one of his hands holding himself up as his other one rubs his dick up and down my folds.
I can’t help the gentle shaking of my thighs, my hole clenching around nothing as my eyes beg him to fuck me. Without words, he grants my wishes, slowly sinking his cock into me. Low moans escape both of our mouths as he bottoms out, my eyes closing in pleasure as he tosses his head back one again. My arms wrap around him, pulling him closer to me.
“I just knew you’d feel so good, baby.” He groans, his thrusts slow, yet hard. “So wet and warm, and tight around my cock.”
His thrusts remain slow, but not too slow, as he continues digging into me, hitting exactly where I need him.
“Oh, Matt.” I moan out, my face contorting in pure bliss as I drag my hands down his back.
He lets out more groans, enjoying everything about this moment. Instantly, I could feel the knot forming in the pit of my stomach, close to snapping from the building pressure. He picks up his pace, increasing the strength of his thrusts. His hand meets my center once again, rubbing tight circles onto my clit, ripping another moan from me.
“You look like a dream.” He moans out, his eyes never leaving mine. “I can see your close, baby.”
Words stuck in my throat, I’m left nodding my head, nothing but incoherent sounds coming from my mouth as I dig my nails into his back. His lips slam onto mine, bringing me into a passionate kiss, swallowing every noise that emits from me. His tongue roams my mouth again, quickly and eagerly, as if he can’t get enough. As he pulls away, he drags my bottom lip out in between his teeth.
“Cum with me, doll.” He groans, his finger on my clit applying more pressure.
And just like that, the knot snapped, unraveling, and I was letting go all over him, eliciting pornographic moans from my mouth. He followed seconds after, his dick twitching inside of me as his load spurts out. He continues pumping, fucking both of us through our orgasms, pushing our cum deeper into me with every thrust. Stilling for just a moment, he then slowly pulls out and lies beside me, both of our breaths erratic from the exertion.
“If this is what I get as a thank you, I’ll gladly pay for your nails every single time.” He chuckles, grinning over at me.
I laugh, rolling my eyes at him, pushing him away. He smirks, before starting to put his clothes back on, so that he could start us a shower. As soon as I catch glimpse of his back, a gasp leaves my mouth, causing him to turn around with raised eyebrows.
“What?” He asks, expectantly.
“Your back is fucked.” I laugh, covering my mouth, grabbing his phone from the nightstand.
I motion for him to turn around so that I can take a picture. Once I do, he grabs his phone from me and smirks at the picture, pleased with the aftermath of our moment together. He does some typing on his phone before tossing it back down and leaving the room. I pick his phone back up and see that he made a new post on snapchat.
After clicking on it, my mouth dropped, “Matt!”

“this should be the last of your things.”
“thanks,” you say, rummaging through the box that minho hands over to you. everything that you left at his place throughout the entire time you were together; every sweatshirt of yours in his closet, every piece of jewelry on his nightstand, every bottle of nail polish that you kept in his bathroom reserved for nights where you two would pamper each other. they're all here, except for... “did you see my red scarf though? i can’t find it anywhere.”
“no, i checked,” he says. “this is everything.”
“hmm, okay.”
you hold the box between your arms, and minho can’t help but feel something twist painfully in his chest. it’s like you're holding your relationship, or what’s left of it anyway, ready to make your swift exit from his life. two years of love, all dumped into one stupid cardboard box.
you both stand there in silence for what feels like forever, just staring at each other, then at your surroundings, neither of you saying anything. minho knows why he hasn’t bid you a farewell goodnight yet; it’s because he doesn’t want this to end. even though it’s a sad occasion, the finale to your story, he still wants to the seconds to stretch on, for the minutes to last longer. after all, isn’t this the last time he'll ever see you?
why you haven’t left him to his devices and gone upstairs, he isn’t sure.
another moment passes. life goes on but it seems like you two are in your own bubble where nothing moves forward. everything stays rooted to the spot.
“do you want to go for a walk?” you ask after a while. the question surprises minho enough that he lets it show, and it makes you quickly tack on an excuse. “the weather is nice and i... i don’t want to be on my own.”
yes, he does want to go for a walk with you. anything to be with you even if it’s only for a moment longer.
“sure,” he says. “let’s go for a walk.”
“okay. i’ll leave this upstairs and get my jacket.”
he watches as you disappear inside your building, only to reemerge momentarily afterward, a wool jacket draped over your frame. he wishes you’d worn something lighter, just so he could have an excuse to wrap his arm around your shoulders if it gets colder.
you walk side by side around your neighborhood, a distance between your bodies that never used to be there before. it’s strange, of course it is. but minho supposes this is yours and his new reality now.
“how are the cats?” you ask.
“they’re okay. dori had a cold a couple weeks ago, but everything’s fine now,” he tells you. “they... they miss you.”
i miss you too - that's a thought that he doesn’t say out loud, only keeps it to himself because it feels too humiliating to utter those words to you.
“they’re cats. how can you tell?”
“i can always tell.” he shrugs. “they wait by the door when i’m already home. they sleep on your-... they sleep on the other side of the bed.”
if you notice his slip up, you don’t say anything. you purse your lips and nod somberly, stuffing your hands in your pockets. “they’ll forget about me soon enough,” you say.
minho glances at you. he wants to rebuke that statement, to argue with you over something as silly as whether or not his freaking cats will retain their memories of you in the future. but he just bites his tongue and swallows down the lump in his throat, humming to let you know that he’s heard what you said. not a hum of agreement, just one of acknowledgement.
“how’s work?” he asks. god, it’s just so fucking weird to be asking you these things. you know each other inside and out and yet, you’re here making small talk.
torn apart when all you two should be is together.
“it’s alright. still the same, kinda boring. you know there’s not a lot that can happen in that place in one month.”
yes, because it’s been a little over a month since you parted ways, since you moved back into your old apartment and left his home perpetually cold and empty. he can’t blame you for leaving when he was the one who agreed to break up. he can’t blame you for his heartache when he was the one who broke your heart first.
he didn’t mean to, but isn’t that what they all say?
“do you still want to leave?”
“sure,” you reply. “if i can find something better, i’d leave that place in a heartbeat. but for now, it’ll have to do. it used to be a bit more bearable though.”
“i hope you find something that makes you happier.”
“thanks.” you give him a smile but it doesn't reach your eyes. “how about you? how’s life?”
minho almost says the first thing that comes into mind. life is terrible without you. i think about you every single minute of every day but you're not here and it’s my own damn fault.
he could lie and come up with something much more palatable, because he doesn’t reckon his truth is something you’d like to hear right now.
but he doesn’t want to lie to you. in the time that you were together, minho never lied to you, not even once, not even over something stupid and insignificant. beside, he’s got a feeling that you would see through his bullshit anyway.
his answer ends up being a sad shrug, then, “it’s life. i’m hanging in there.”
your footsteps slow until you stop completely. this makes him stop too, turning around to look at you with his head tilted to one side, confused.
“it’s not like you to sound so defeated,” you comment.
“what?” he asks with a sigh. “it’s the truth.”
“it’s not the whole truth.”
“what do you want me to say?”
“i want you to be honest with me,” you tell him, your shoulders slumping just slightly. “i still care about you. i want to know you’re okay.”
minho takes a step closer until he’s right in front of you, the closest that you two have been all night. his body feels the warmth radiating from yours but he has to ball his hands into fists to keep from reaching out and touching you.
“if you really want to know, i haven’t been myself since you left.”
guilt flashes in your eyes. it wasn’t his intention at all.
you bite your bottom lip, inhale a shaky breath, before you speak, “i’m sorry for leaving.”
“don’t apologize. i’m sorry for driving you away.”
then he watches the tears well up as you look at him. he’s been wondering this the whole night, how you seem so cavalier about it all, how you’re able to speak to him so casually as if you’re just old friends with some shared history, and not as though the wound is still fresh. he’s still bleeding and you’re acting like you’ve already healed.
but he sees it now. you’re just as sad as he is, just as miserable. the only difference is you’re better at hiding it, or maybe you’ve just had more time to get used to the way it hurts.
is this how you felt in the weeks, the months, leading up to your departure? every time he neglected you, prioritized something else over you, missed every date and overlooked every text message? every single instance where he was too busy for you?
he never wanted to break your heart, but alas, here you are.
he didn’t want you to go, and yet, when you felt like you couldn’t handle the loneliness anymore, he hadn’t stopped you from walking out the door. he gave up, and he gave up so easily.
nothing along the lines of ‘don’t you dare walk away from me’, no tearful argument, no explosive and definitive end to your relationship. minho just let your love slip away.
how must that have made you feel on top of everything that he did - or didn’t do - to you?
minho has been called every variation of ‘cold’ before. to everyone else, he’s callous, rough, intimidating and unapproachable. but to you, he’s kind, soft, gentle and loving. it never mattered what anyone thought of him, as long as you always knew that he loved you, that you saw him for who he was.
but toward the end, what if you saw him how the others did? what if you had deemed him cold too?
the mere thought makes him sick to his stomach.
you sniffle, wiping at your eyes. “you don’t have to say that. it’s in the past now.”
fracture upon fracture upon fracture. minho doesn’t know how much more of this his heart can take.
his fingers twitch, and before he can stop himself, he’s reaching for your hands. to his surprise, you let him.
your hands, so delicate in his, so warm.
“i should’ve fought harder for you,” he says, his voice so small that you barely catch the words at all.
but his eyes… he hopes you can see it in his eyes - the regret, the longing, the pain of losing you dimming the light of the stars he holds there.
giving his hands a light squeeze, you say, “and maybe i should’ve held on tighter instead of letting go.”
“i made you feel like you weren’t enough. it’s the worst thing i ever did to you. i understand why you left.”
you try to calm your breathing, because you really don’t feel like breaking down in front of him right now. you don’t say anything in response; what are you even supposed to say? you told him everything that you wanted to the night that you two broke up. everything that you tried to bottle up for months was laid on the table that night. you watched as he listened to you, watched as his heart broke alongside yours. that was it.
“i… i’m sorry,” minho stutters, and for the first time since you’ve known him, he looks scared. “i’m sorry. can’t we try again? i swear i won’t let you down again. i swear to you.”
“min…” the nickname slips out of habit and for a second there, minho thinks you would say yes. but then… “i know you’re sorry. i know we didn’t break things off because we fell out of love. but i don’t think you’re at a point in your life where i can be the most important thing right now. you may not mean to, but there’ll be things that you prioritize over me… and i’m not at a place in my life where i can settle for being on someone’s back burner either. the timing’s just off. it’s not your fault, life just got in the way.”
minho stares at you, the stars dying out one by one. the hurt is beyond what any word can describe but in a way, he understands. it fucking sucks, but he gets it. he has to accept it now.
he nods solemnly, tracing odd patterns on your palms. then he asks, quietly, “can i hold you? just for a while.”
please indulge me, he thinks. this is the last thing i’ll ever ask from you.
you don’t reply with words. instead, you wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him into you. you two stay there in each other’s embrace for god knows how long. it could’ve been minutes or it could’ve been hours. you always lose track of time when you’re wrapped up together.
you hold him like he - tough and intimidating minho - is made of glass, and he holds you like he doesn’t ever want to let you go.
but he has to eventually.
you untangle yourself from him to find that he’s been crying. the tears on his cheeks catch the light from the street lamps, reflecting like crystals in the night. when you wipe them away, you tell him, “for once, i was right.”
“about what?” he sniffles.
“you really are a hopeless romantic,” you smile, trying to lighten the mood. as much as you can anyway. “i knew you’d prove me right one day.”
minho wants to scoff but his eyes are burning from the tears and his throat feels like it's closing up, so he lets you have this one. the last one, right?
maybe he is a romantic, and maybe it’s only for you. maybe it makes him a little hopeless.
the walk back to yours ends too quickly. but truth be told, even if you had walked together until the sun came up, it still wouldn’t have been long enough for him.
you both stand there, two heavy hearts looking at each other, looking for one another.
there’s no goodbye, only goodnight.
and you’re the one who says it first.
minho returns your sentiment with a choked up voice, a brush of his fingers against yours, and when you finally turn to walk up the steps, his gaze lingers on your retreating figure.
then he calls your name softly. “hey, uhm... i’ll let you know if the scarf turns up, okay?”
you turn back with a knowing smile. it’s still sad, but there’s some faith hidden there.
“i hope it will.”

Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy
Tumblr media
Paring: Neil Lewis x Reader
Word Count: 2.3k
Warnings: smut, you have a cowboy kink :3
Tumblr media
“What do you think?” Neil says, strutting down the narrow hallway out of his office.
Looking up from the magazine you were mind-numbingly immersed in, mostly due to the weird jingling coming from where Neil was coming from, you were greeted with an oddly pleasant view. Neil, uncharacteristically, dressed up as a cowboy. Black cowboy hat, a pair of black loose fitting jeans to match, a light denim button up shirt tucked into his pants with a couple buttons undone at the top, a black bandana tied around his neck, and cowboy boots that edged on godawful. Somehow Neil’s outfit of the week wasn’t that bad, it was kind of attractive…
“Hello? Anyone in there,” Neil waves his hand infront of your face, you try to grab his wrist but he snatches his hand away before you can get a full grasp. “So?”
“I think it’s better than last Saturday’s Dracula costume, that’s for sure,” trying to sound as uninterested as you possibly can despite the fact that you were undeniably very into the cowboy thing.
“Oh, come on. I had you speechless for a good minute there,” Neil points out, before mimicking a one-man gun fight.
“It’s fine,” is all you give him.
Neil sighs dramatically and pouts. Walking over to the couch infront of the TV and flopping down onto it, his melodrama is almost good enough to make you pity him, but he’s pulled this trick one too many times for it to do the full damage he intended. Soon enough you're trying your best to flip through the magazine in your hands. Unlike last time, you can’t seem to find it as interesting as it was before you saw Neil. The cowboy outfit fit him a little too well. Amount of undone buttons showed off his collarbones so well, hat fit weirdly well ontop of his head, and his pants hugged his ass in a way that made you drool. Maybe your boss dressing up as a cowboy was a new awakening for you. God you really hope not.
“Welcome to Gumshoe!” Neil welcomes the customer, springing off the couch and fixing his hat, “We have a special deal on Westerns this week, if you want to look into that just let me or my lovely employee at the counter know.”
You smile at the customer, before your eyes start to drift over to Neil. How you were going to last a full day working here while he looked like that, you didn’t know. As he blabbed to the customer about whatever movie they could be looking for, you willed yourself to look anywhere else, to do anything else besides stare weirdly at your boss and give yourself a girl boner over his outfit. There’s always returns you can sort through and late calls you can make, is what you settle on.
Pulling out the box from under the counter you start to sort through the returns of the past couple of days absentmindedly. Despite trying your hardest not to stare at your boss and focus on your task, you can’t help it. As he stanters around the shop in those stupid black jeans, fixes the buttons on his shirt, even daring to pop another button open, you can feel the wetness in your pants increase by the minute. It’s embarrassing. You move over to the back corner to start storing the movies, hoping this new perspective with a noticeable lack of view of your employer will help calm you down, but it does nothing. Possibly making it worse, this lack of seeing the real Neil makes your imagination kick in. Oh, what he could do for you. Legs over his shoulders. Is he soft or rough? What would he say during it? Is it just the costume or has he always looked this good? There’s a tap on your shoulder and you whip your head around.
It’s Neil.
“Can you check out the customer? I’ll take this over, don’t worry.” A blush spreads over your cheeks, and you can only seem to nod offering a weak, guilty smile to him. Standing up on shaky legs you make your way over to the register trying to make as little contact with Neil as possible. Knowing that if you touch him you will moan.
Your face feels hot, likely flushed, so you check out the customer as fast as you can. Plan foiled by their lack of a loyalty card. Soon enough they are out the door and gone, but you could’ve sworn you input their address wrong.
“Is the A/C not working?” Neil had sneaked up on you, grasping your shoulder. You jump, causing him to let out a small laugh.
“Uh- Yeah, I think so? Why are you asking?”
You knew why he was asking, you were sweating profusely and were red in the face. Even leaving a sweaty hand mark on the register, and possibly the DVD the customer rented out. All fueled by the simple cowboy costume worn by the man behind you. Curse ‘Western week’ at Gumshoe Videos, and curse Neil and his need to dress up for every event the store held, no matter how miniscule.
“You’re just very sweaty and red. Is there any other reason? Possibly got the hots for anyone,” Neil teased, poking your shoulder.
To anyone other than you, it would’ve been quite obvious that he wasn’t referring to himself and was, instead, referring to the customer who just left. After all, most of your more noticeable nerves showed up after their arrival. But your nerves paired with just how close Neil was to you lead to the disastrous reply.
“No! Of course not! And it’s definitely not you either.” Followed by nervous choppy laughter.
“What?”
Neil was not laughing.
“I have to go stock shelves.”
Neil stands there for a couple seconds before following behind you, despite how you desperately try to lose him. The shop is small and cramped, losing anyone in here is close to impossible. Just getting down to work is the best option right now, you plop down beside a box full of DVDs and try to ignore your boss.
“Look. I’m not offended or thrown off by what you said, but are you serious?”
You look up at Neil, guilt and embarrassment coating your face.
“You are! What is it? My charms? My humour? My looks?”
You go back to stocking DVDs.
“Is it the cowboy outfit?”
You look back up in absolute horror. He’s grinning at this realisation, both amusement and disbelief smeared all over his cocky smile.
“Well how would you like to ride a real cowboy?” Neil asks, he’s putting on a horrible southern accent that’s somehow made the outfit so much more attractive.
You stand up and crash your lips together. The kiss catches Neil off guard, stumbling back a step or two before he’s reciprocating at the same force as you. Getting eager you pull at the hair on his nape. He moans into your mouth. God it’s better than you thought it would sound. God, do you want to ride this cowboy.
“Hey,” Neil breaks away, breathing heavily, “Can we, uh, can we take this back to my office?”
You nod, basically pushing Neil back to his own office. Both of you are giggling the whole way there. Normally being so giddy over something like this would make you sick, but you’re hot and have a growing tingling in your lower stomach urging you onwards. Once the door is closed to his office your lips are back on his, hand tangling into his hair. Stumbling forwards into him until you hit his desk. His hands find your hips and he groans. Lips now start to kiss your neck. Kisses sloppy and open mouthed, bordering on bites. You’re so high on excitement about this it’s making you dizzy. Never have you ever thought that you would be so excited to sleep with your boss. What a uniform can do to a man is criminal.
Neil’s hands slowly move from your hips to your breasts. Squeezing them lightly once before groping harshly. Looking down you make eye contact with him, his eyes are so round and soft, pupils blown out wide, basically pleading to let him take off your shirt.
“Go ahead,” You sigh out, he’s rubbing your nipples through your shirt.
Quickly his hands move down to the hem of your shirt, and it’s off you and on the floor. Neil starts to move his kisses down to your collar bones and breasts. Groaning the whole way down, acting like he’s never been with anyone as beautiful as you. Truthfully, it’s unlikely that he has.
His hands unclasp your bra, sliding it down your arms and exposing your boobs. Nipples hard from the cold and from the excitement of this whole ordeal. You place your hands on Neil’s jaw dragging him back up into a kiss. It’s sloppy, his spit is all over your top lip. If this was anyone else it would’ve disgusted you, but, again, something about the whole cowboy costume made it so much hotter.
“God, you’re so hot,” Neil pants into your mouth, tweaking at your nipples. You moan in response.
He’s leading you over to the couch in his office. Pushing you onto the couch, you watch him completely unbutton his slutty denim shirt before joining you. Lips crashing into yours in the same frenzy as before. Your hands come to the waistband of his pants. Desperately trying to undo his buckle. You get it undone, and as a reward Neil undoes his pants. You feel his bulge press into your hip as you continue. You stroke him through his underwear, causing him to whimper, breaking away from the kiss and squeezing his eyes shut.
“Don’t do that baby, I’ll cum, please,” Neil begs. You giggle in response, but are immediately cut off when he latches his lips around your nipple. Flicking his tongue over your nipple. Fuck. You cup his cheek.
“Neil, take off my fucking pants already,” You hiss out.
He detaches his lips from your nipple, focusing instead on sliding your jeans off of your hips. You desperately want to shy away from Neil’s gaze when he starts to feel the wet patch on your underwear that is growing by the second, but it’s hard when he’s sitting between your legs. He shoves your panties down your legs and onto the floor.
Neil looks into your eyes as he traces the line of your cunt, playing with your clit, then shoving a finger into your cunt. You immediately moan out at the intrusion, earning you a smile from Neil.
“You’re so wet, baby,” he teases.
He adds in a second finger and your eyebrows furrow. His fingers are thick. Stretching you out so nice. Finding a steady pace Neil pushes his finger in and out of your cunt, eagerly watching as your cunt easily takes in his fingers. You grip at his hair, pulling him back into a kiss. Moaning into his mouth as he fucks you with his finger, consistently brushing against your sensitive spot.
Neil removes his fingers from your cunt, wiping them off on the couch. He makes quick work of his boxer’s pulling them down and discarding them in the pile of clothes already on the floor. He lines his cock up with your cunt and slides into you, both of you groaning at the sensation. Neil stays still for a little bit, getting adjusted to how you feel.
“Fuck you’re so tight, and so warm, and wet. You’re so nice,” Neil babbles, placing his hands on your hips.
Slowly he starts rocking back and forth into you, letting out breathy moans the whole way through.
“You can speed up,” You tell Neil, holding onto his bicep for support.
His hips start to speed up, until the sound of skin slapping against skin and the wet sounds of your cunt echo throughout the room. Neil keeps babbling out praises, ‘so good baby’s and ‘you’re so hot’s breaking the previously mentioned sounds, along with moaning from the both of you. Neil was a surprisingly good fuck. His cock was angled perfectly into your cunt, allowing him to hit deep into your cunt each time in a way that made you squeeze your eyes shut and throw your head back.
“Do you- fuck- do you want to ride this cowboy?” Neil asks through pants, you look up at him. A mix of amusement and horniness coats your brain.
“Yes.” Is all it takes for Neil to slip out of you and bring you on top of him, then line up his cock with your entrance once again and slip it in.
You bounce up and down on him, aided by both his hips bucking into yours and his hands on your hips.
“You’re so good at this, holy,” Neil says, before taking one of your nipples into his mouth. Swirling his tongue around the bud, you yelp out.
You can feel the coil in your stomach tighten, gripping tightly on Neil’s shoulders for stability. The mix of Neil’s cock pumping in and out of you and his tongue playing with your nipples was driving you insane.
“Neil, I’m gonna cum.”
“Cum for me, all over my cock, baby.”
You reach one of your hands down from Neil’s shoulders to your clit. Rubbing your clit in quick small circles as Neil watches you with hungry eyes.
It all comes crashing into you at once as you chant ‘cumming’ as you slump into Neil’s shoulder. He follows quickly after you. Both of you stay still for a little bit, trying to recuperate from everything. Neil rubs small circles into your lower back before you slide off of his cock.
“Thank you,” you mumble, not being able to look at Neil after that.
“Here,” Neil says, handing you your underwear.
You both get dressed in silence, before both exiting Neil’s office.
“You can go home early today if you want,” Neil coughs out.
You end up going home early after all, walking back to your car on shaky legs and being left to think about the events of today at your apartment.

Spending more time with Suguru after months of occasional contact was easier than you assumed it would be. You, usually accompanied by Reina, would go to his art gallery in the evenings with a cup of coffee for yourself and him. It seemed too similar to old times, but you always chose to ignore the video reel of memories that pressed play as soon as you opened the glass doors to the gallery of how you and Satoru went there for the mere purpose of annoying Suguru.
This was one of the days your elbows were resting against one of the thin marble tables in the basement—which, you had to admit, was crafted to perfection to be Suguru’s space in his gallery—and mindlessly scrolling through your phone while he worked on his laptop.
“Yo.” You heard him call from his desk just a few feet away from you. “I have to run out to pick up a late shipment. I’ll be back in like—twenty minutes? You can stay here, we'll meet up with Nanami once I get back.”
Nanami Kento was another new addition into your life, and you’d be lying if you said he wasn’t the most exciting one. It wasn’t that you hadn’t heard about him before—you had, occasionally from Satoru who was his acquaintance back when they were classmates—but he was fresh and new which made it a lot easier to open up to him. You, Kento, and Suguru had plans for dinner tonight with Reina, too, who backed out a few hours ago because her mother had arrived from her month-long trip.
“Yeah, I’ll be fine. Go ahead,” you replied, sending him a small smile over your shoulder as he gave you a short wave, gathered his car key, and went upstairs.
You just continued swiping through your phone, replying to some text messages from earlier this week that didn’t particularly mean much. You’d spent the past few days at home to only sleep, choosing to spend time with Reina, Suguru, and Nanami. You had been in touch with Shoko, too, but hadn’t found a time to meet up with her since she’d gone abroad for an internship for a couple months. Still, it had taken you a long time before you finally began talking to the friends you had that were connected to Satoru.
You heard the small ding of the sound the system made when the door before the basement unlocks through the keycard and furrowed your brows. It hadn’t even been ten minutes since Suguru left, there was no chance he was back. It was followed by heavy thumps of footsteps going down the stairs, and you only had to see the black lace-up shoes to know who it was.
You wanted to scramble for your things and hide underneath a table, but you didn’t have enough time because Satoru saw you the exact moment his face came into view when he stepped on the third-last step.
“O—Oh. I didn’t know you were here.”
You tried to clear your voice, to pretend that this situation was no big deal. Of course, running into your boyfriend of three years and fiance for a few more months who broke it off with you on a random Tuesday was, in one way or another, a big deal. “He left to get a shipment. I don’t think he’ll be back soon.”
For some reason, for some fucking reason he walked closer to you. You had said that Suguru would take a while because you wanted Satoru to take the hint and leave, not so he could step towards you—closer and closer till you could look into that sea in his eyes almost clearly— and take a seat three chairs down from you. No. You didn’t want him near you, especially not after the night on the balcony.
“Guess I’ll wait, then.” His voice was honey. It was so smooth, so soft that your ears would feel warm whenever he spoke.
“You can just call him.”
There was always something you believed when it came to Satoru ever since he began pursuing you before your relationship: he was persistent. He would leave little notes all over your room that you’d find in drawers days after they’d been placed, asking you to go on a date, to give him one chance. Some notes, you found days after you went on said date with him, and that was when you realized how he truly was persistent. It wasn’t just when it came to you, though. When you, Satoru, Suguru, and Shoko went to a bar with an indoor mini golf area, it had taken all three of you to manipulate the ball’s trajectory when he wasn’t looking just so he could pass the hardest route. It was two in the morning and you were ridden with sleep—it wasn’t your fault. When Satoru put his mind to something, he almost always achieved it.
“No point. I’ll just wait—I haven’t seen him in a while.” Just as you knew, Satoru wasn’t backing down.
You didn’t know his motives, and you’d tried really hard to not dig deep into his actions to try to find out. Satoru always haunted all your questions, he was like a ghost within your body constantly testing you, trying to get you to question why he did what he did.
You remembered that you and Satoru were once a blank page, not an entire book that had come to a tragic, unfulfilling end. You tried to erase every word, but they were written in pen and the traces always lingered. So, the only thing you could do was close the book and keep it somewhere far from your sight, but you couldn’t do that when he showed up in front of you. Not as a ghost but as a person, reminding you he was still here, real and moving, and he had pieces of you that you would never get back.
“I’m leaving,” you murmured, deciding that you had the choice to leave it all behind. To leave him all behind. He could haunt you from within, but you couldn’t let him materialize once again into your life.
“Y/N, stop,” he said, arms reaching out to you when you walked past him to go to the staircase but stopping as though he realized it was wrong.
And you replied, “What?” because even though you knew you shouldn’t, a part—a big part—of you was still left in his car where he asked you for the engagement ring. A part of you still couldn’t let him go entirely because you were never good at leaving things behind.
“I want to… apologize,” he began, running his fingers through his unkempt hair. He lifted his hand when you opened your mouth, beginning to say something, and he said, “You don’t have to say anything, okay? Please, just give me five—two minutes of your time. I just need to talk to you.”
And like he told you to, you didn’t say anything because if Satoru wanted to talk for five—two minutes, then you would let him.
“I got married,” he said, as though he was in a daze within his own mind. You scoffed, but didn’t say anything. “And that… that was fucked up. You didn’t deserve hearing about the engagement three months after I ended ours.”
Although it was all true, although you had relived all those moments inside your head, hearing Satoru say them made them real. This wasn’t Reina helping you get over him, this was the him you tried to get over for months. It was humiliating knowing he knew exactly what he did, though there was no doubt he didn’t before this. He knew better than anyone how you felt without talking to you because he was there, holding your hand when a stray tear left your eye as if he was still yours.
You still didn’t say anything.
“I met Hana a month before I ended it with you.” You weren’t sure you could hear this. If somebody held a knife to your chest at that moment, you probably would still stand still, completely silent because there were no words left in your mouth. “I didn’t intend on getting engaged with her, Y/N. I meant it when I said I felt I couldn’t be tied down but—” He paused, as if he didn’t want to continue.
And he didn’t continue, at least for a few minutes that felt like long, grueling hours.
“But she was new, and I hadn’t felt that… newness for so long. Not since I’d met you. And she said things, Y/N, that made me think we couldn’t get married, that we couldn’t work.” His eyes looked at your face, and it was equivalent to a thousand needles piercing your skin because he waited for you to say something, to agree? But you couldn’t, not even after he had broken you completely and left you on the side of the road like you meant nothing. Because in your stupid, twisted head, you could have worked. If he wanted.
He continued, taking your silence as a cue. “When I ended it with you, I—I didn’t want to. I swear. You deserved better, and I realized that I didn’t deserve to be anywhere near you. I couldn’t look at you without feeling guilty about the second-thoughts I was having because another girl made me rethink.”
This wasn’t what you expected today, was the only thought swirling through the tendrils of your mind.
“You don’t have to say you understand because I don’t either. I’m not sorry for ending it with you, Y/N, because you didn’t deserve me after all I did, after all I thought about us. But I am sorry for lying to you and, in a way, making our relationship seem meaningless because you probably thought I moved on too quickly.”
“You did,” you said, surprising yourself with the finality of your words. But you couldn’t take it back now that you had made yourself an almost-coherent member of this conversation.
“What?”
“You did move on, Gojo. Too quickly. I don’t think that, I know that and you do, too.”
He tugged his lower lip between his teeth, and you looked anywhere but at his downcast face. It was hard to admit it to him because you couldn’t stop your words, not when he was piling on brick after brick preparing to tumble it all down with you on the other side. If you stayed there any longer—
“I liked Hana then, but the marriage wasn’t what I expected.” You leaned back against the wall, placing some more distance between the two of you. Satoru seemed as though he was clutching at the flimsiest of straws to keep you there, to let you let him talk. “My father—he pushed for it and after losing you, I didn’t fight against it. I thought a marriage like this would hurt less than us getting married and—”
“And what?” you prompted.
“And having to end. I don’t know—I didn’t want us to fail, Y/N.”
You smiled wryly, understanding there was nothing more left for him to explain. “Okay.”
“Okay? That’s… it?”
“I didn’t question why you did what you did before, didn’t try to get answers. I’m not going to change after you’ve given me those answers I never asked for.” At that point, you were looking to find any words to make a swift exit, but you still remained rooted in your spot.
He sighed, fingers reaching up to pinch the bridge of his nose. “You’re saying you would rather not know?”
Of course, you wanted to know, but you had kept yourself from looking for answers. You knew that whatever ran below the surface of Satoru’s flimsy, no-good, unbelievable reason to end your engagement would hurt, and you were always good at taking what he said at face-value. Obviously, you were right but that didn’t grant you the satisfaction of a person whose beliefs were just proven right would.
“I’m saying I’m over it, Satoru.” Your voice was convincing enough. "And if you want a successful marriage, maybe you should tell your wife that you got involved with her while you were engaged to me. I'm not the only one who you should be apologizing to."
As soon as you turned your back towards him and headed for the stairs, the door on top clicked open and Suguru gave you a wide smile and wave when he saw you on the other end.
It was funny, real fucking funny, how on a random Tuesday, every question that had plagued your mind like a ceaseless tornado over almost two years was answered by the harbinger of pain himself. You had been so deeply lost in your own soul, and even a person drowning felt uneasy when pulled back up into the air. Satoru pulled you out and now, he stared at you as if he was a friend who offered you a single piece of a chip because you were starving while he ate an entire packet of it. You weren’t sure how he felt but, with the way he looked at you, you were sure that some immature, adolescent part of him that’s growth stunted in middle school truly believed he had done you right. By telling you the truth two years later.
You didn’t notice Suguru had walked down the steps and taken notice of Satoru and was now flashing his eyes between the two of you as if you were a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. You weren’t.
“Satoru, man. What the fuck are you doing here?” Suguru asked, and you should’ve made your way up the stairs and away from them but you stayed put. Your mind somersaulted, making excuses for yourself to yourself that you had plans with Suguru anyway, and you would leave with him once he makes Satoru leave.
“I just wanted to hang,” Satoru replied, shrugging his shoulders.
Suguru inhaled a deep breath and you could see the corners of his ears turning a dark, angry shade of red in annoyance as he stared his friend down. “Just leave for now, dude. I’ve got plans.”
You didn’t look at Satoru, but you felt his gaze on you as his footsteps reached closer to the stairs. You moved, not wanting to have any unnecessary contact with him. As he reached you, he halted his steps and looked at you and you could have buried yourself right then into a hole because you hated this.
“I know I’m not in the position to ask for anything but I want to tell you, again, that I really don’t want you to hate me. We don’t ever have to talk again, if you don’t want to, but please don’t hate me.”
You looked at his eyes, then stared at him for a moment longer. You laughed, it was bitter and held a certain form of venom you had never shown Satoru, at the sincerity in his features. “Say what you just said but slower, just so you can also comprehend how utterly senseless you sound.”
A hint of annoyance flashed across his features before he tamped it down and shook his head. He started heading up the stairs, not bidding Suguru or you a goodbye, and you sighed in relief.
“Y/N, I—” Suguru started, but you cut him off by pushing him by his shoulders in annoyance. “Woah, woah. What did I do?”
“You didn’t tell me!” you exclaimed, your voice finally coming back to you after whatever-that-was. “He cheated, Suguru! And you didn’t tell me.” You were saying your thoughts exactly as they leaped through your mind, barely comprehending that you had resorted to punching—albeit lightly—Suguru’s chest as you closed your eyes.
Everything was blank, and for a moment you were convinced you had lost a wire inside your brain throughout this entire ordeal.
“Hey, listen,” Suguru said, his arms reaching out to gently grab onto your shoulders. “You kept on saying you don’t wanna dig deeper and all that bullshit once the two of you broke up. And you were doing good, Y/N. You know how long it took you to start acting like yourself again? Four months. I didn’t want to ruin your process because you were healing.”
You gritted your teeth and said, “You had no right, Suguru. And you had no right to assume when I moved on because it didn’t take me just four months. If your—if your fiance cheated on you and didn’t tell you, I wouldn’t keep it from you.” Your voice trailed off as you stared into his eyes, and that was when you’d realized you truly couldn’t rely on him because he was Satoru’s friend first and yours second.
You had—in great fashion—run away from Suguru’s art gallery before he could even form a defense to your words. At that point, you were sure he wouldn’t be showing up to dinner with Nanami because that would not be a good moment for the three of you. You had dug for your phone and texted Nanami, telling him that you’ll be at the restaurant in ten minutes to which he’d instantly replied saying he’ll be there in five.
It didn’t take long for you to drive and reach the restaurant, which is why you were sitting across from Kento who looked more curious than anything. You tried to avoid his watchful gaze, though he didn’t say anything. That might have made it tenfold uncomfortable because he often came to his own conclusions, without asking any questions, and ran with them.
“Stop staring,” you muttered, fingers absentmindedly flipping through the menu. “And decide what you’re going to eat.”
“I already know,” he replied, unmoving with his stare.
“You and Geto fight?” he asked as soon as you’d both placed your order with the waiter. He raised a brow when you tilted your head, feigning confusion. “You can tell me, I don’t give a fuck.”
You laughed at the lightness of his words. “Why do you think we fought?”
He let out a chuckle, barely audible, and took his phone out. “Because he isn’t here? And because he texted me and said ‘sorry, can’t make it.’ And he said you two were coming together and his text was sent the same time you said you were on your way.”
“Okay, genius,” you drawl, resting your arms casually on the wooden table. “I guess it could be considered a fight,” you admitted.
His eyes flickered with the slightest hint of interest but it was gone the next second. “Oh, yeah? Lover’s quarrel?”
“God, shut up.”
“Don’t go thinking I’m God just yet,” he muttered, a smirk playing on his full lips.
You threw the napkin in front of you at his face which he, unfortunately, caught with his hand. “Me and Suguru aren’t even friends like that,” you said, almost believing it. Truth was, it was the heat of the moment and you wanted to clutch at every strand of dignity to make it seem like what Suguru did didn’t hurt, alongside with what you now knew Satoru did, too.
“Uh huh,” Kento sarcastically went along. “So what happened?”
You debated on whether or not you should tell him the entire story, knowing that he was friends with Suguru and sort-of knew Satoru. But there wasn’t anything wrong with confiding in a friend, right? You chose to give him bits and pieces from the day—about how Satoru, your ex-fiance wanted to talk and give you a whole rundown of how he pretty much fell in love with another girl while you were engaged—which slowly got you talking about the few months after the breakup and Satoru’s new engagement. By the time the two of you were about to order dessert, you had told him pretty much everything—not without being prompted though. As soon as the two of you moved on, he’d say something like that fucker’s so stupid. What did he say after that? It was almost like a conversation with Reina, but with Kento it felt different.
He’d look at you every so often while you talked, a glint present in his eye that usually wasn’t there. He’d run his fingers through his blond hair and slightly lift the direction of his eyes to meet your eye, and if you hadn’t been shit-talking your ex’s best friend, you would’ve felt the warmth radiating through your body under his gaze more.
“I meant it,” Kento started, chewing the last bit of the cake you forced him to order. “That Gojo kid is stupid for that shit.”
You laughed, biting your lip to contain the blush that crept up your cheeks. “Calm down, otherwise I might start to think you like me.”
He looked at you with a blank stare then tilted his head to the side, as if trying to read you. “You’re dumb.”
“What?”
“You actually think I’m not interested in you?” he asked, then laughed as if it was the most preposterous thing he had heard. You thought about it for a moment, and realized every attempt at flirting he made, you brushed off as a joke. That’s just Kento, you’d kept on saying to yourself. You’d ignored every attempt he made because the waters after a three-year-relationship were tumultuous, and it was never your first thought that Kento was truly interested everytime he made a comment slightly suggestive.
It took you a moment to realize you still had to reply to him, and in that moment you allowed yourself to feel the warmth underneath his gaze. “What?”
“I’m not saying I’m about to drop to one knee and propose or something. I’m just telling you there’s interest present.”
You weren’t surprised; only Kento could make something that people always shy away from saying seem so easy. You smiled. You weren’t sure if this could work, and you weren’t even sure if this conversation would ever lead to anything in the future, but it felt like a welcome recess from every other part of the random Tuesday. For a moment, it was easy to forget Satoru, Satoru’s betrayal, and Suguru’s behavior. Kento had come into your life during, what you’d consider, a limbo period where you were still navigating the almost-two-years-ago-breakup and its aftermath. He was fresh, and he was new. Perhaps that was the newness Satoru was talking about.
And maybe there was something innately weird about Kento, someone who was interested in you, to listen to you talk about your ex and then tell you he’s interested in you, but you’d always been a fan of the unexpected.
“Don’t go all quiet,” he murmured, twirling his glass of water around absentmindedly.
“There’s interest on my end, too.”

Being Team Japan’s Manager:
Miss Manager is Great with Kids
Tumblr media
Team Japan x Female Manager (she/her)
Warnings: swearing, obviously kids (sometimes they are scary 🫣)
Request here
AN: I apologize if this isn’t the best 😅
You know what’s really funny YN?
The similarities between being Team Japan’s manager and working in a preschool
Honestly it’s pretty much the same thing
Iwa drops the kids off for their morning practice
Yaku yells at them, scolding them for not playing nicely with the other team members
You have to remind them to eat and take bathroom breaks
Essentially, the same 💅
Which is why your transition from teaching to being team Japan’s manager was so easy
The guys 👉🏻 instantly love you
Was there really any doubt?
Of course, some of them *cough* ATSUMU *cough* HOSHIUMI *cough* make it their life goals to be hard on you
You can’t tell me they aren’t annoying and finicky about literally everything 🙄
But once again, it’s fine because you’ve dealt with snotty, marker covered kids pretty much your entire life
Literally these guys have nothing on a group of 3 year olds
The guys never really asked much about your previous job, not really caring much about where you came from before you started with them
Aran would occasionally bring up the subject but you’d just shrug, answering, “a little of this, a little of that.”
Let’s be honest, there’s no conversation that doesn’t involve volleyball lasting for more than 5 seconds in the Gym
Especially with Atsumu, Kageyama, Hinata and Bokuto
Guys really think that other occupations don’t even compare to Volleyball so why waste the time talking about it
However 👀 the boys would soon find out just how much they should have asked about your prior employment
Because you see, Kuroo had a little something up his sleeve to help promote Team Japan
“Come again?” Asked Gao
“A kids camp! Ages 4 to 9!” Kuroo excitedly explained
“Count me out,” Sakusa groaned
“You really think it’s a good idea for little kids to be running around while we practice?” Kageyama questioned
“Well you would t be practicing, it would strictly be for the kids,” Kuroo responded
“NO PRACTICE!” Screamed Atsumu, Kageyama, Hinata and Bokuto in unison
Iwa narrowed his eyes as you tried to keep a straight face, “listen here, if you don’t participate, I’ll have coach bench you and give your number up!”
The group immediately straightened up as Kuroo smirked
“Maybe it won’t be so bad? I mean it’s only for a couple hours right?” Komori responded
The guys all nodded as you tried your best to keep your composure
A week later, the camp was underway and let’s just say, it was going about as well as Seijoh’s chances of going to nationals 🫠
“Oh my go- gosh!” Atsumu shouted, stopping himself again from nearly letting out a bad word in front of the children
“These kids are actually feral!” Hoshiumi screamed, trying to wrangle two kids who were throwing volleyballs up into the bleachers
“I thought these kids were suppose to like volleyball!?!” Aran asked
“I never said that,” Kuroo chimed in, as he and Akaashi watched form the sidelines
Akaashi was there to do a special report on the teams event as well as take in the free entertainment
Bokuto and Hinata were rolling around on the floor, attempting (huge emphasis on ATTEMPT) to show the kids receiving
Sakusa was sitting with a group of kids who were “too cool” for this
Ushiwaka had already made 3 kids cry just by walking up to them
Iwa had left to cool down because he was at his breaking point
And you, well you had seen enough
Suddenly, Kuroo watched as you grab the microphone and headed to the middle of the gym
“Hey kids, who wants to see a professional athlete serve?” You shouted as all the kids (yes I’m including the athletes) looked over at you
Suddenly, screams and shouts filled the air as all the kids flocked towards you
The guys, Kuroo and Akaashi, included all watched in wonder
“Ok we all need to sit in the chairs because this guys serves can be either really good or really bad. Atsumu, show them!”
Atsumu rn 👉🏻👁️👄👁️ HEY MY SERVES ARENT BAD!
“I’d say it’s 50/50,” Sakusa chimed in as Atsumu growled
“Hey how come I don’t get to show them my serves Yn?” Kageyama grumbles
“Tobio you’ll get a chance just calm down and wait your turn ok?”
After the show of serves, you again grabbed the kids attention
“Ok so who wants to try spiking??” You ask as a million tiny hands shoot up
“Ok everyone get in line, littlest to oldest, and we will all get a chance to practice!”
You made your way to the nets, team and children following you like little ducks as you began to coordinate
Iwa watched in awe as your skills, impressed at your ability to manage such a wide age range
I mean 💅 this is Yn Iwa, what did you expect?
After the event, the kids all came up to you after getting their autographs and gave you a big hug
“Thanks so much Miss Yn!” They all smiled as they ran to their parents
“YN why didn’t you tell us you were good with kids?” Yaku asked
You just shrugged, “it never came up.”
“I mean it makes sense, look how good she is with the other idiots,” Iwa said, nodding over to the feral group
“OMG YN THAT WAS SO FUN! Can we do that again??” Bokuto screamed, jumping up and down
“We deal with enough children daily so no,” Sakusa said, turning to leave going to the locker room
“What kids- HEY WHAT THE HELL OMI??” Atsumu yelled
You just smiled, knowing your boys were the best kids around 😌

☼ cerulean pt2 (Finnick Odair) ☼
Tumblr media
summary; Finnick Odair is an irritating presence, but he knows how to make it up to you, even if it means he takes a hit from the press.
warnings; swearing,
wc; 2.3k
part one
--
Finnick Odair could not make his intentions any more obvious.
You’re not sure what part of ‘not falling for the same trick twice’ he misunderstood, considering you thought it was pretty straightforward. Yet, here you are, with a bouquet of fresh flowers sitting in front of the apartment door.
It’s a good thing you told Gloss last night that you had this morning handled, you can’t imagine how he would’ve reacted to this. Or what he would’ve said to you.
A sigh escapes you, as you set your bag on the table next to the door, crouching down to grab the beautifully engraved vase. It’s heavy, due to the sheer amount of flowers that have been stuck inside. Still, you lift it and carry it all the way to the kitchen counter.
The Avox, who is standing next to the light switch, doesn’t move, or so much as eye the flowers. You, on the other hand, turn the glass carefully to see each and every one of them, curious on what he’s picked out. You find classic red roses, peonies, orchids and carnations.
All of them convey the same message; he’s deeply in love with you.
You find something stuck in the petals right as you’re turning to leave. You reach over, plucking out the yellow notecard with your name neatly printed in cursive in the middle.
You clear your throat, “Will you put this in my room on the dresser?”
She—the Avox—doesn’t speak, of course, just moves forward at once to grab it. You begin to walk away, heading back to the front door. You flip over the card, reading, ‘For the most beautiful girl here, — Your Dearest Finnick’. You pause next to the front door to grab your bag.
He can’t possibly be delusional enough to think that… Well, he is. For the past week, he has done nothing but bombard you at every chance he’s given, thinking that it’ll make the air between you breathable again. When in reality, you’re doing everything you can to make sure you don’t cross paths for more than a second.
This isn’t entirely out of character for him, and it isn’t the first time he’s gifted you something, either. You’ve received several pieces of jewelry with your birthstone in it, which was surprising to see. You don’t even remember telling him when your birthday is, much less the stone that represents the month. He had to have done the research to figure that out on his own.
You suppose this is his way of telling you that he cares, and he listened when you were together. At the time it was refreshing to have someone genuinely interested in what you had to say. When he went and told the Capitol everything, you assumed your words fell on deaf ears.
You close the apartment door behind you gently, approaching the elevator. It makes a noise when you press the button, and less than a second later, the doors are opening to let you in. You move to take a step forward, but stop when you see who’s waiting there.
Finnick gives you a smile, moving to hold the elevator doors open for you. “Well, good morning, beautiful.”
You can feel your eye twitch. “I’m going to take the stairs.”
“Don’t, I promise I’ll be good.” He winks, pretending to zip his mouth shut.
You take in a deep breath, staring at him, debating if you can take his word for it. The truth is probably not, as soon as the doors shut, he’s going to open his mouth. Which would be enough for you to leave, except the ride will only last a couple of seconds. The elevators move quick.
“Fine.” You say, stepping inside, choosing the right side.
Finnick removes his hand from the doors, allowing them to close. The button for the Betting Room is already glowing, meaning you won’t have to press it, yourself. The elevator begins to move downward. It’s warm in here, caused by the sun shining directly inside, the glass casing, and the lack of air conditioning.
“I see you’ve gotten your flowers.” Finnick says without turning around.
Your eyes land on the back of his head, squinting at his bronze curls. You don’t bother to ask him how he knows this, he got a good view of the hallway while you were deliberating. The bouquet is clearly nowhere to be seen. Which could mean a number of things—like Gloss or the Avoxes stumbled upon it before you could.
If the yellow notecard weren’t sticking halfway out of your bag, it would be believable, too. “Mhm.” You hum. “Coming off a little strong, don’t you think?”
He cocks his head to the side, you can only imagine the shit-eating grin on his face. “Well, I distinctly remember you telling me your father did something similar for your mother…” Your lips part, now Finnick turns to see your face. There is no smile, just raised eyebrows. “She’s a florist, right?”
You cross your arms over your chest, turning your head to look out the window, while you try to figure out why he knows this information. Where would this have ever come up during a conversation? It makes no sense. You and Finnick were seeing each other for a month, why would you have told him about that?
“We were talking about grand gestures.” He says, reading your mind.
“What for?” You ask, looking back at him.
He’s turned to face you slightly. “Gloss and Enobaria.”
It dawns on you then, you press your lips together, giving him one big nod. That explains it, actually. Last year, Gloss had a thing for Enobaria, and he tried to ask her to be his girlfriend by announcing his love for her in front of the fountain in the Betting Room.
It wasn’t awful, but Enobaria clearly didn’t like it. It’s one of the reasons why they’re not dating, because she called him a moron and told him to get down. It hasn’t ruined the friendship between them, though, that’s why they’re still comfortable to be around one another.
You vaguely remember talking about this with Finnick one night, laying in bed with him, when he asked you for the story. You told him, since you’d witnessed the entire thing, and followed up by telling him you wouldn’t take a grand gesture like that, either. He asked you what you would accept, and you told him about the story of your parents.
Your mom’s a florist, she has been her entire life. She knows the meaning of flowers inside and out, because it’s her passion. Your dad had tried several attempts before to get your mom’s attention. It wasn’t until he had put together a perfect vase of flowers from his family’s personal garden, did he finally get it.
Finnick must be following your train of thought. “Did it work?”
“Clever.” You admit. “But no.”
Finnick presses the button that’ll stop the elevator in the case of an emergency, causing the alarm to go off briefly. You grab onto the railing when it jerks to a halt, letting out a loud sigh. You should’ve just taken the stairs.
“What can I do to make you forgive me?” He asks, taking a step toward you.
You shake your head at him. “I told you—”
“I know, I know.” He breathes. “I’m sorry, (Y/n). I never should have done that to you. I didn’t think…”
“That you’d ever think of me as more than just a fling?”
“No, that you’d ever let us be more.” He says, emphasizing the word. “Because of the rivalry.”
You snort. “Well, if there’s one thing for sure—it’s that thinking isn’t your strong suit. If you’d talked to me before I left, we could’ve figured it out. There’s no way that’s happening now.”
“I’m sorry.”
“No matter how many times you say that word, your actions don’t change.” You tell him, tired of going in circles. You approach him, he straightens. You slap the elevator button again, causing the alarm to go off, before it begins to move again. When you back away, his shoulders slump. “I hear you; you’re sorry. You know what I say to that? Prove it. And I don’t mean through birthstone jewelry and flowers proclaiming your love,” You hold up the notecard. “If you want me, fix what you’ve done.”
His eyelashes flutter slightly as his face relaxes, thinking.
The doors open, finally. You begin to head out, but stop in the doorway to look back at him to give him another hint. Before you can, Finnick reaches up, placing his hand in front of the doors to keep them from shutting, as if it’s second nature.
“I’m holding onto something.” You tell him, he meets your eyes. “You said so yourself, don’t you remember?”
You step out, Finnick’s arm falls. The door shuts between you.
A door slamming in the apartment rattles the picture frames hung in your Capitol-provided bedroom. You look up from where you’re sitting in the corner, book halfway closed, wondering whether or not you should get up to see what the dramatics is about.
“(Y/n)!” Gloss roars, voice echoing through the quiet place, solving the question.
You shut the book, irritated that you’re being interrupted. You get to your feet, tossing what you were reading onto the seat before making your way out of the bedroom. You meet Gloss halfway, as you’re about to step foot into the dining room, and he’s leaving the living room.
“What?” You ask, raising your eyebrows.
He’s huffing, “(Y/n), I just had a conversation with Isadora,” She’s your guys’ Capitol escort this year, “Tell me why we got issued a warning about stopping the elevator.”
Your face twists, shaking your head, “That wasn’t me, that was Finnick. I was the one that got it started moving again.”
He squints at you. “You and Finnick were in a stopped elevator together?”
You point at him. “Not willingly.”
“Why?”
“I was going down to the Betting Room and he was already on the elevator.” You shrug. “He stopped it because he wanted to talk to me. It was like that for a minute, maybe two.”
He’s coming toward you. “About what?”
“What do you think?” You throw your hands up. “I warned you that this was going to happen!
Gloss stares at you for a long moment. “This wouldn’t be an issue at all, if you’d listened to me last year.”
“Honestly, Gloss, I don’t understand why we even have a problem with him and Mags in the first place. It’s stupid.”
“You don’t see why? (Y/n), you’ve got to be kidding me.” He laughs. “Last year wasn’t enough proof for you?”
You close your eyes, taking in a deep breath, and then slowly releasing it. “Gloss, if you wanted to avoid this, you would’ve sat next to him at the interviews, instead of Enobaria.” You open your eyes. “You told me I have to deal with the repercussions, and here I am, dealing with them. And I have come to realize that a rivalry with the Four mentors is stupid.”
“Then, by all means, (Y/n), fix that relationship. It won’t matter, because our tributes won’t be mingling with theirs.” He shakes his head at you. “And it won’t change what Finnick said about you on television.”
“I’m well aware.” You hiss.
When you come into the main room this morning, ready to eat breakfast and get down to the Betting Room, you’re met with Finnick’s voice. For a few seconds, you’re convinced that he’s inside of the apartment. It isn’t until you come out of the hallway, do you realize that he isn’t.
He’s on television with Caesar Flickerman.
“Oh shit.” You murmur.
“Ladies and gentlemen, today we’re joined with our favorite darling, Finnick Odair. I hear he has a confession to make this afternoon?” Caesar asks, turning in his chair to look at Finnick.
Finnick is dressed nicely, in a clean white shirt and a pair of black slacks. His hair has been combed back to give him a mature appearance. “Yes, actually. It’s pretty hefty, regarding one of my fellow mentors.”
You cross your arms, slowly coming down the steps.
“What could that be?” Caesar asks.
“Well, last year I came here to talk about (Y/n), and the relationship I had with her.” He starts. “It was all a lie, and I came here to get it off my chest.”
You blink, eyes widening.
“A lie?” Caesar asks what you’re thinking. “How come you’d come on here—”
“I was jealous.” Finnick cuts him off. “(Y/n) is truly a wonderful and sweet person. I tried to pursue her, of course, but I couldn’t handle being rejected. So, I came here to talk to you.”
Caesar doesn’t say anything for a long moment. “Finnick, I don’t want to be interpreting you incorrectly, here. Are you telling me that what (Y/n) said in response at the train station was true?”
There’s no hesitation in his actions, he nods fairly aggressively. “Yes, and I can’t sleep at night knowing that what I did is still hurting her.”
You roll your eyes, now he’s laying it on thick.
“Still? How so?”
“Oh, I hear a lot, it’s hard not to with a face like this.” He winks at the camera. “I know that forgiveness can be a long road, but I’m hoping it starts with this.”
You cross the room, leaning over the couch to grab the remote off the cushion. As soon as the television is off, you feel better, like a weight has been lifted from your shoulders. In truth, you weren’t expecting for him to go and pull something like this. Actually, you aren’t sure what you wanted him to do at all, but this is probably the best thing he could’ve done.
He must really want you to forgive him.

hazelnut latte | kim gyuvin (fluff, wc: 640)
gyuvin x barista! reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𖤐 ྀ
after almost a full year of working at your local cafè, you had become really close with your coworkers and they were some of your best friends, which made talking about your love lives come easy.
“i can’t believe i’ve been working here for 8 months and haven’t encountered even one cute customer” you sighed, wiping down the counter after a small rush.
“hey what about that guy from last week” your coworker, ricky, giggled.
“enough on that” you laughed and rolled your eyes thinking about the random man that was trying to flirt with you in front of his children.
as your shift slowly moved along, the two of you were becoming more tired and ready to clock out.
“i’m gonna run to the bathroom, you can handle being alone for a bit right?” you asked while untying your apron.
“yeah i’ll be fine but what if your soulmate walks in when you leave” ricky said giggling
“well-“ but you trailed off as you saw the prettiest boy you had ever laid your eyes on walk into the store.
quickly putting your apron back on, you slightly pushed ricky to the side. he was confused by your action before looking at the line behind the register and saw the same pretty boy at the end of it.
“the world was listening to your complaints huh”
after a couple minutes, it was finally the boy’s turn to order.
“hi! i’ve never been here before, what’s your favorite thing on the menu?” he said smiling brightly at you.
“i love the hazelnut latte! sometimes i mix it with a little bit of caramel and that always tastes really good as well” you say smiling back
“ooh, i’ll try that then!”
you reply back with a quick ‘okay’ and ring his order up. you hesitate before also adding your discount on his order.
the boy took out his card to pay, but noticed the discount and looked up at you, confused.
“since it’s your first time!” you say smiling.
he smiled back, a slight blush forming on his cheeks.
after he finished paying, you hand him his reciept and say, “your order number is 25, and you can pick up the drink on the left!”
he walks over to the side while you walk over to join ricky in preparing orders.
“so how was flirting with your new obsession”
“flirting?? obsession??”
“well knowing you, you’ll be thinking about him for the next couple months. bro’s gonna become ‘hazelnut latte with caramel boy’” ricky teased you, “and yes, flirting, you just gave that random kid a discount all because you think he’s cute, sorry, because ‘it’s his first time’ my ASS,” he snickered.
before you could reply, hazelnut latte with caramel boy walked up closer to the pick up counter, making eye contact with you. fixing your apron, you went up to him.
“hey i was wondering if you guys are by chance hiring? i’m new to town and have been looking for a job”
you slightly cheer on the inside, feeling ricky smirking next to you, and say, “yeah we are actually! you can just fill out the form through the qr code on the wall over there and you should get a call or text soon after”
ricky passes you the boy’s drink,
“and here’s your drink um …?”
“gyuvin!”
“.. gyuvin. i’m y/n! i hope next time i see you is your first shift!”
“me too, see you y/n!” he says picking up his drink and taking a sip. his eyes widen, “this is so good by the way, thank you!”
“see you and of course!”
you smile and turn to see ricky with his arms crossed and a smug look on his face.
“what?”
“hazelnut latte boy just became ‘coworker i’m in love with’”
“and after that, my boyfriend gyuvin”

high infidelity — ethan landry
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
word count: 1,910
pairing: ethan landry x fem!reader
summary: y/n and chad are in a dying relationship and ethan brings y/n back to life.
warnings: cheating (try not to do that!). fluff (might be a bit cringey??). sexual tension.
author’s note: i’m sorry if this isn’t super great, but my inspiration left the chat this week and college has been super hard too :(
Tumblr media
EVER SINCE LIV’S DEATH, CHAD HAD CLUNG ONTO Y/N AS IF SHE WAS THE LIFEBUOY THAT KEPT HIM FROM DROWNING. At first, she was thrilled because she had had a crush on him for way too long. But eventually, he started healing and slowly began to pull away from her, yet not quite letting go. It was a miserable place to be for Y/N, and she was left trying to hold onto the remaining pieces of the relationship that meant a lot to her.
Chad was the first person Y/N had ever loved, and she really thought it was going to last forever. Looking now, she cursed herself for being such a hopeless romantic and creating too much expectations for a teenage relationship, especially for being her first one. Hell, she had even followed Chad all the way to New York.
As soon as they stepped foot in the city, Y/N panicked. A new reason not to break up with him just entered the list—if she did, she would be alone, in an unknown city where she didn’t have anyone but him. Because that was the truth, while she really liked Mindy, Sam and Tara, they weren’t her family as much as they were Chad’s.
They included her in their plans, but that didn’t mean she felt part of the group. She would’ve felt really lonely if it weren’t for Ethan Landry, her boyfriend’s roommate, who understood her silences like no one else and made her days lit up with just the sight of his smile. Two introverted loners who found a safe place in the other.
Y/N’s name had been engraved on Ethan’s heart since the very first day he saw her. He was disappointed to find out her heart belonged to his roommate, but it didn’t take him long to realize that maybe that wasn’t quite true—yes, Chad held her heart, but it didn’t belong to him. It was obvious Chad didn’t love her enough, and it was slowly killing her.
It boiled Ethan’s blood. Chad didn’t realize he was lucky enough to have the most amazing girl in his arms and he had been taking her for granted and neglecting her. And Y/N didn’t realize Ethan was there, willing to lover her with all his heart and show her the appreciation she deserved, and instead she was dancing around the truth of her dying relationship. Why couldn’t she see him?
Yet everything changed on April 29th. As almost every Friday, Chad had dragged her girlfriend and best friend to a frat party despite their countless complaints.
“Chad, you know I don’t feel comfortable at these parties. It’s not my scenery. I can’t stand crowded places and loud music” Y/N continued to fight her case.
“Stop complaining for one day” Chad groaned. “Don’t be boring, it’s just for a couple of hours and I’ll be right there with you.”
Y/N rolled her eyes, she wanted to yell so many truths. It made her a bit annoyed that Chad couldn’t understand she wasn’t being “boring”, she genuinely felt anxious and suffocated. She didn’t even understand why Chad wanted her there, considering that within the first five minutes he would leave her alone to talk to some frat boys or to get wasted.
“Hey, it’s fine. If you really can’t stand it, we’ll leave” Ethan said in a low voice, squeezing her shoulder in reassurance.
“Okay” she nodded, her body relaxing a bit. Why couldn’t Chad be more understanding?
Tumblr media
CHAD DIDN’T EVEN WAIT FOR Y/N TO ENTER THE HOUSE BEFORE HE LOST HIMSELF IN THE CROWD OF PISSED PEOPLE. Once again, Y/N was left behind by him and if it weren’t for Ethan, she would have been completely alone in an unsettling place.
“Are you okay?” Ethan asked, noticing her tense shoulders.
“Just want the night to be over” she sighed. “I’m going to get a drink, you want one?”
“Sure” the boy nodded.
Pushing and shoving, she managed to get to the table filled with drinks. Knowing Ethan wasn’t really a huge fan of alcohol, she chose the less strong drinks. She turned around, cups in hand, ready to go back to Ethan when she slammed into a hard chest.
“Hey, gorgeous” a tall guy she didn’t know spoke. The strong scent of vodka invaded her nose and she couldn’t help but scrunch her nose in disgust.
“Um, hi. Could you move, please?” she asked politely.
“Dance with me” it wasn’t a question, more like a command.
She scoffed “Go bother someone else”
“Playing hard to get? I like it” he smirked, grabbing her waist. She tried to step back, not being able to do anything with her occupied hands, but the guy wouldn’t let her.
“Let me go” she glared up at him.
Before the unknown guy could respond, she was pulled away from him and new hands gripped her hips. This time, she leaned into the touch, recognising the strong male cologne coming from behind her. The protective and strong grip made her feel relaxed and secured, the way she always felt when he was around.
“Are you deaf? Back away from her” Ethan’s tone was new to her ears. It was confident, threatening and harsh. This side of Ethan was hot, and Y/N’s body grew warm.
“Sorry, didn’t know she had a boyfriend” the guy stepped back.
“Doesn’t matter if she has a boyfriend or not, she said no, so you walk away and leave her alone, got it?” Ethan spoke between his teeth. Once the guy left, his soft demeanour came back, but Y/N couldn’t stop replaying the way he had acted a few seconds ago. “Did he hurt you?”
Y/N shook her head, staring at him intensely. “Thank you” she said in a low tone. The lust she was feeling clouded all her senses, and it was hard to do anything but stare at him.
Her eyes spelled desire, and while Ethan could sometimes be oblivious, he was definitely not stupid. “You can’t look at me like that” his tone was a bit shaky.
“You are looking at me the same way, Ethan. That’s kinda hypocritical” she said, not taking her eyes off him as she took a sip from her drink.
He clenched his jaw and backed her into a corner. Her back collided harshly against the wall but that’s not why she gasped. One of Ethan’s thighs sneaked between hers, applying a bit of pressure to her heat. And if she hadn’t been aroused before, she definitely was now.
“You look so fucking hot tonight” he used that tone she recently discovered and was already a fan of.
Her hands gripped his biceps and her doe eyes almost made him collapse to the ground. Her look was one of need, but they also held sweetness and adoration and Ethan swore it was his downfall.
“Ethan” she said his name unlike ever before. She wasn’t just calling him, it was the recognition of something she had known for a while and was finally ready to admit.
“Yes?” he said hopeful. Their lips were close, yet not daring to touch. The desire was so strong that the gravity was becoming too much.
They were on a treacherous slope, and the smart thing would be to walk away but it felt like they were standing on quicksand. And while the path they were about to began was reckless, they knew it was worth it.
“I like you” she finally said.
The party and the people went out of focus in that moment. Ethan had dreamed about those words coming out of her mouth for so many months that finally hearing them in real life almost made him cry. He couldn’t help it, and before he realized what he was doing his lips captured hers.
It was like her heart started again, as if that kiss brought her back to life. Feelings Y/N thought were buried after her failed relationship with Chad had been slowly starting to make their way towards the surface once she began to spend time with Ethan. And now, right there in the dimly lit room, with music so loud it caused a migraine, and his body pressed against hers, they had finally reached the surface.
Tumblr media
IN THE MORNING, Y/N WOKE UP WITH THE WEIGHT OF ETHAN’S BODY OVER HER. It took a few seconds for the memories to sink in, but once they did, her face broke into a smile. She looked down and had to fight the urge to grab her phone and take a picture—the boy had his face hidden on the crook of her neck as he breathed peacefully, his unfairly long eyelashes tickling her skin and his strong arm around her bare stomach. How could someone be that beautiful? Ethan was mesmerising and breathtaking, a literal angel.
He woke up a few minutes later, and his confused face was probably the cutest thing Y/N had ever witnessed. And then, when he caught sight of her, his entire being lit up and constellations appeared in his eyes.
“So it wasn’t a dream” he spoke with a raspy voice.
Y/N threw her head back laughing “Hi, you look really cute in the morning. I could get used to it.”
“I would love to get up like this every morning” he said with a lovey smile, “Though maybe we should talk about what we are going to do.”
Y/N nodded “Yeah. Well, I know I’m going to break up with Chad. But should I tell him about this… us?”
“He’s going to be furious, things are going to get awkward, and he’s probably going to hate us… but lying would be worse.” Ethan said, and she hummed in agreement. “Do you think I should be there? When you tell him, I mean.”
She thought about it for a second and then shook her head “I don’t think that’s a good idea. That might be too overwhelming for him”
Ethan nodded and silence filled the room for a few minutes. “Can I ask you something?”
“Of course” she relied softly.
“Are you sure about me? I mean, I’m not some kind of getaway car, am I?” Ethan asked, the insecurity in his voice broke Y/N’s heart.
“Eth, no. Absolutely not” she sat up, face expression as serious as her voice. “You know, before I met you, I thought I was in love with Chad. And then you came and made me feel at home, protected, at peace and you made me realize that while I do hold love for Chad, I’m not in love with him.”
“And… are you in love with me?” he asked unsure.
Y/N smiled and peck his lips. “I’m so in love with you that every time you’re around my chest feels like exploding”
Ethan finally smiled and pulled her to his bare chest so she could feel his heartbeats. “I’m in love with you, too, as you can tell. To be honest, I’ve known it since the first time I met you.”
“I’m sorry I made you wait for so long. If I hadn’t been so scared, maybe I would’ve realized it sooner. It was kinda obvious, though. You have become my happy place.”
“You say the sweetest things, you’re going to melt my heart, love” Ethan said, looking at her completely enamoured.
“I feel like I should warn you—I’m the clingiest, most cheesy and affectionate girl in the world.”
“Warnings taken, I’m still staying.”
“Are you sure? You still have the opportunity to ran away” she said with a teasing smirk.
“Why would I ran away from my happy place?”

01 — a short life of trouble
[ RDR2 X fem reader , 2334 words ] — next ✶
rhodes was a quiet town at the best of times. as much as the pompous sherrif, mr leigh gray, liked to juice up his line of work, the most action this collection of run-down buildings saw was the same petty feud between two families that was seemingly everlasting. an alleyway punch up after a night of drinking, perhaps even a few shots on the outskirts of town; this was all that was worth talking about amongst its residents, whatever distracted them from their lungs filling with red dust kicked up by horses and the sun drying up their almost forgotten patch of land in the valley of lemoyne.
when dutch van der linde first rode into the town, he felt at home, a welcome sight for the conman. it was a clean slate, filled with nooks and crannies that he could infiltrate and manipulate at his will. the townsfolk were stupid, the law even more so; it was a perfect combination to have some fun. it was no surprise to the rest of his gang that in no time at all, he was already sitting pretty on the porch of the sheriffs office, hand rested on the shoulder of sheriff gray himself. and lets not forget, with a gleaming deputy badge pinned firmly on his chest.
his main confidants, arthur morgan and hosea matthews, agreed that there was an opportunity for control here, to take what they needed and disappear before anyone in rhodes knew what had hit them, or that they were to blame. they were, after all, outlaws. on the run from forces beyond their capabilities. it only took a matter of days for the rest of their gang to settle in and set themselves up once again in a temporary camp to call home, finding a location south of the town in a secluded grassy plain. it was close to town, but still hidden unless you knew the right tracks to follow.
placing himself firmly amongst the law had led to dutch walking freely around town, a feeling he had not been able to experience in months, perhaps even years. still in a state of high alert (one that never seemed to leave), he allowed himself to look less frequently over his shoulder, not analyse every face he saw or mentally count how many weapons the men around him may have on them at any given moment. occupational hazards had ingrained this behaviour into him since a young age, but at least he could leave the confines of his camp more confident than he had in a long while.
arthur and himself rode down the now familiar dirt road towards the sunbaked town, passing dry fields and even nodding at passers by. dutch chuckled slightly, “we are living it up now son! look at me, look at us!”
arthur let himself crack a smile, “yup, i don’t know how you manage to squeeze your way into situations like these but …. thank goodness. everyone at camp seems settled in, happy even.”
dutch turned to the outlaw riding next to him, “what did i tell you arthur. i have a plan. it’s working. these fools are just the beginning.” he raised his hand to gesture to rhodes, now larger on the horizon and full of morning activity. people entering the train station to the right, some riding through to perhaps visit some of the general stores throughout. the local saloon would even start filling up with its regular drunks soon enough , even this early in the day.
“now,” dutch continued, “you break off to the left here and go visit our dear friend trelawny. last i heard he’s living amongst thieves in old trailers on the outskirts of town, see what kind of information he’s kicked up these past couple of weeks. meanwhile, i’ll go catch up with our great protector.” he placed an exaggerated hand on the deputy badge his chest, chuckling once again, “this sheriff’s perhaps a greater fool than even uncle.”
arthur laughed then let out a sigh, “fine, but next time you deal with trelawny. who knows what scheme he’s going to wrap me into.” with a kick to his horse, he rode away from dutch, leaving him to continue riding deeper into town.
hitching his loyal arabian in front of of the sheriffs office, he entered the building oozing the charisma and confidence that any man would dream to have. within ten minutes, he left holding official papers and a smug look on his face. mr gray had so graciously given him a tip off about some illegal moonshiners east of rhodes, the only instruction? to eradicate the men; any means necessary, just get the job done.
this translated to only mean two things to dutch; free booze and easy money.
eager to return to camp and start planning this ‘offical raid’ with a few extra men, he jumped back onto his horse and slowly started to make his way back home. shoving the papers into the saddle bag on his left, he allowed himself to light a cigar and let out a low sigh while he held it loosely between his calloused fingers. delicious and familiar smoke filling his lung, with an oblivious town in front of him. things were looking damn good …
just as he passed the bloody faced butcher hacking at a deer, he heard the first gunshot.
instantly alert, his still-lit cigar hit the dirt road and both hands were like stone by his sides, each ready to uncap the holsters beneath them at a moments notice. he scanned the area, turning his head every which way, already looking towards the hiding places he had mentally noted weeks earlier in which someone could potentially hide. just as he was straining to hear any sort of noise, he heard yet another gunshot within seconds.
habits had made him duck closer to his saddle, his horse becoming skiddish as dutch looked around once again. the townspeople were on high alert also, most crouched or back indoors after a few shouts. seconds passed before dutch realised that the shots were coming from out of town entirely, the echoes ringing out from where he guessed was the thicker forest that stood in the distance. these past months had made him assume every gun was pointed towards him, each loud noise, bullet or not, had made him instantly ready to fight and assuming the worst.
sitting straighter and tightening the grip around his reins to calm his horse, he figured the folk around him had concluded the same, most standing up and even waving their hands with a dismissive gesture. he had come to realise that in this town, if the shooting wasn’t at your front door, it wasn’t your problem ….
‘righteous people, truly ….’ he jokingly thought to himself.
another shot ran out from the trees, causing the remaining birds in the area to fly over the canopy. flinching less than before, dutch started his horse into a gallop once again, leaving rhodes to deal with their own backyard business. whoever it was, dutch figured he would rather it be their problem than his. moving closer towards the tree line on the dirt track to camp, he did let himself wonder what all the ruckus was about…. then it hit him …. that sinking feeling that usually rested at the bottom of his chest.
arthur …..
quickening his horse, dutch cut off the path and ran towards the forest. ‘trelawny….. that damn fool.’ he thought, his mind racing towards conclusion that he hoped weren't true. ‘who knows what kind of business he put those two up too. those gunshots could have been from anybody … but ….’
breaking through the tree line, he scanned the area on horseback, looking on the ground for tracks, broken branches, blood strains, anything. moving closer to where he guessed the shots were coming from, he got down from his horse and continued on foot. each step he took was barely audible despite the dry leaf litter below, his right hand once again hovering steady above the shining revolver on his hip… he could smell gunpowder in the air, this must be the place.
“arthur? son are you here?” he let himself say aloud in shouted whisper, scanning the trees for any sign of movement. the area was thick with stumps, boulders, tree trunks and bushes, all bending and layering into a green and brown mess. it was eerily quiet, most animals being scared into running with all the noise, despite a few birds chirping as they bravely returned to their nests so soon.
eyes, ears and mind alert, ducth finally saw something, a body laying face down a few feet in front of him. he let himself rush over and sighed as he realised it belonged to a stranger. not just a stranger he realised, but an o’driscoll! ‘yes’ he thought, ‘green vest, rusty gun… missing teeth… good riddance.’
looking up he saw another body laying in a flower bed to the right. both men were huge in stature, undoubtably lacking brains, but still a force not taken on without guts and skill. looking down at the o’driscoll closest to him once again, he noticed that he had a gunshot wound, right in the middle of his forehead…. impressive. walking over to the other, he had the same. a clean and fatal shot. perhaps this was arthurs handy-work?
he stood and continued deeper into the forest, calling for arthur once again. he passed yet another dead o’driscoll, taking the satisfaction of stepping right over his body and observing yet another perfect headshot. three gunshots, three wounds, three dead o’driscolls. mystery solved.
right?
“arthur, where the hell are you boy?” he called once again. perhaps trelawney and himself were long gone, away from the scene and disappeared before the real trouble of the law or more o’driscolls showed up. or maybe they were never here at all?
dutch stood straighter and felt himself relax. whatever happened here seemed to be over, and his two men were nowhere to be seen. just as he figured he may as well leave this be and head on his way, he heard the snap of a branch behind him. turning around in an instant, hand already holding the loaded revolver in his hand, he froze as he came face to face with the barrel of a rusted repeater.
“dont. move.”
a woman was standing before him. her hair was matted, eyes wide, skin covered in who knows what but hands steady as a rock, eyebrows furrowed in fierce concentration. she was wearing a blouse, ripped and stained dark with what dutch assumed to be blood, her skirt torn and thinning. the boot she wore seemed three sized too big, a second gun on her side attached with nothing but a thin rope tied around her waist.
dutch slowly raised his palms in line with his shoulders, gun pointed upwards, “miss? i-” he started.
“don’t. who the hell are you.” she spoke stern but her voice sounded exhausted. she hid the shakiness well.
“i’m ….” he trailed off, “miss, did you kill those men back there?”
she stood unmoving. “so what if i did. those are bad men.… now answer my question.”
“oh i know,” he ignored her still, moving his right hand to touch his chest and daring to take a small step forward. “i’m glad they're laying face down in the dirt where they belong.” he paused. “thats some fine shooting you must have had.”
she looked him up and down with a quick glance, eyebrows furrowed, “what are you playing at…”
dutch dared once again to take a step forward, eyes glued to the woman with an unwavering confidence, despite the gun pointed right at his chest. “you asked who i am? my name is dutch van der line. i’m somewhat of a… outlaw around here. cast off and trying to survive….. i sense that you can relate to that.”
the woman seemed to slip out of her fierce gaze for a split second, her arms lowering slightly then snapping back into position, even taking a cowering step backwards as the stranger in front of her continued forward.
“i’m sure you're tired miss, hungry?” dutch continued. “when was the last time you laid to rest without keeping one eye open…” he moved closer still, his steps more frequent. “trust me, i’ve been there. i can help. we can help you.”
the woman stared, she didn’t know what to say, what to do, what to respond. and dutch knew it. he had her just how he wanted.
he was close enough now to raise his hand and place it on the barrel of her gun, slowly lowering it and moving in. he spoke low, calm and considerate. “miss… if you come with me, i can give you all these things. we have a camp, not too far from here. we already have a common enemy it seems,” he gestured behind him to the dead o’driscolls, even smiling slightly as he turned back, “it doesn't matter who you are, what you’ve done, just … trust me.”
the woman was staring unblinkingly at dutch, but he could tell that she had no choice, she seemed so exhausted, guessed she had nowhere to go. how long had see been alone for? was the dried blood that painted her clothes her own, or some other dead fool? “please miss, whats you’re name.”
“y/n.” she responded weakly, finally letting her arms drop by her sides. it seemed despite her unmoving position, she was struggling to hold up the heavy gun, her arms and strength exhausted. she allowed herself to let her guard down, her legs making her sway, shoulders slumped. it was all too much.
ducth let himself touch her shoulder, holding her small frame in his skilled hands as he let out a high whistle, calling his horse towards them.
“come on y/n. you’re safe now.”

So I know it’s not wrote about often but I’ve been brewing with this cute idea and if you don’t wanna write it it’s fine! Can I possibly request a Hook x Female!Reader (who also wrestled with AEW) where they’ve been in a relationship for a while now and they end up accidentally getting pregnant and she ends up having a rough pregnancy but she’s also hard headed and wants to keep traveling so poor Tyler is honestly doing his best making sure his girl is comfortable and okay while also wrestling and taking care of himself?
This was literally so fun to write! I’m sorry it took me so long to get it posted I’ve been trying to write everyone’s request at once! I hope you love it!
Warnings: protective!hook, angst, pregnancy complications, fluff, some smut (in the form of lovemaking 🥲)
Tumblr media
Tyler was absolutely terrified but that was the very last thing he wanted you to see. As soon as those two pink lines appeared, all he could think about was the future and how drastically things were about to change. You were both so young and had just gotten your careers started and now he knew he was no longer going to be prioritizing his profession, but you and his future child.
He held you tight as you sobbed into his chest, the pregnancy test in his hand as he stared at it in disbelief, but there was no mistaking those two bold lines. He felt you trembling and tightened his arms around you, swaying you side to side. “It’s gonna be okay, I promise.” He whispered against your hair before placing a kiss to the top of your head.
The two of you agreed to keep it under wraps for a while. You only told Tony so he knew you’d no longer be able to wrestle, but you denied it when he offered you maternity leave starting at twelve weeks along, even though Tyler insisted you should take it.
“I still want to work.” You told Tony as you and Tyler sat in his office. You felt him give your hand a squeeze but he didn’t say anything. “If there’s anyway you can give me a couple of segments or something, Mr. Khan, I would greatly appreciate it.”
Tony nodded. He hadn’t stopped smiling since you and Tyler told him the news. “I’m sure I can work that out.”
“Maybe not every week.” Tyler spoke up, “She’s been getting sick a lot and the doctors told her she needed to rest more.” He tells Tony who nods in understanding.
“They gave me medication for the nausea and I’ve been feeling much better since.”
“She wasn’t able to eat dinner last night or breakfast this morning without getting sick.” He keeps his eyes on Tony as he counters your remark.
“I see.” He says as he eyes you and Tyler both. “How about you keep me posted about how you’re doing and if you’re feeling well enough then we’ll get you some segments?”
“I promise I’m okay. I only get sick after I eat.”
“She doesn’t eat. She can’t eat.”
“Tyler, please let me speak for myself.” You snap at him, and he looks over at you with soft eyes.
“Y/N, the doctors already told you to rest more. Tony is offering you exactly that and you’re not taking it.” He points out. Tony dropped his head, feeling a bit awkward as he stood there listening to the fuss.
“I will rest more, but I don’t want to completely stop working. What’s wrong with a couple of minutes in front of the camera for a little talking segment? It’ll be fine, Tyler.”
He clamped his mouth shut. It was clear he wanted to say more but he didn’t and that’s when you looked back at Tony and nodded. “Thank you, Mr. khan. I’ll be ready whenever you are for the segments.”
Tony nodded tightly. He caught Tyler’s eyes and how they were filled with concern. “Not a problem. I’m happy for you guys. Try to enjoy this as much as you can. You only get one first time pregnancy.”
But Tyler was finding it so hard to enjoy when all he worried about was you all the time. You were getting worse as the weeks went by yet you always failed to see that. Or maybe you did and just wouldn’t admit it. Either way, he could see you getting weaker by the day. You continued getting sick and were diagnosed with Hypermeses Gravidarum at fifteen weeks.
Tyler didn’t know what the hell that fancy term meant until the doctor explained that it’s basically violent vomiting. Then it all made sense since he’s had to hold your hair back for hours at a time for weeks now.
“You’re not gaining as much as you should be right now.” The doctor tells you. “Are you able to hold down anything?”
“No.” Tyler answers before you could. “She is sick all the time. All she can eat are crackers usually.”
The doctor nods and looks over at you. “Have you still been taking the Zofran?”
You nodded back. You were feeling queasy that moment but you didn’t try to show it.
“Alright. Well the first thing I want to do is take a look at that baby, then we’ll figure out something else we can give you that will hopefully help you be able to hold things down better.”
You inhaled deeply and laid back, pulling your shirt up to expose the slight bump that was forming. Tyler leaned up in his seat next to you and intently watched as the ultrasound technician spread some gel over your lower stomach and grabbed the probe.
Tyler’s eyes adverted to the screen the minute it caught his attention and there you both saw the form of your fifteen week baby, wiggling it’s arms and legs.
“Oh my God” you breathed out shakily as you stared in awe. Tyler was unable to speak, or do anything at all except watch. He felt his heart swell, filling up to maximum capacity in his chest.
You looked over to catch his reaction, seeing a wide, toothy smile on his face.
“That’s our baby” you whispered, doing your best not to cry as you extended out your hand. He grabbed it tightly and placed a tender kiss to your knuckles.
That was probably the only time Tyler felt relief. When he saw your future daughter or son and the doctor assured you both that he or she was as healthy as can be.
A couple of weeks past by though, and you kept getting worse. You started to have some swelling in your legs and feet and he knew it was because you wouldn’t stay off of them.
He massaged the soles as you laid on the couch with a cool washcloth draped over your eyes, trying to fight the crippling migraine that was making your whole head throb.
“The swelling is getting worse.” Tyler says as he tries to use his hands to massage it down. He pressed one finger into your calf and noticed the indentation it left long after. “That’s not normal. We should call the doctor.”
“It’s fluid build up.” You tell him. You’ve googled all of it.
“But your legs are double the size almost.” He counters as he keeps rubbing them from underneath your knees and down to your toes. “You need to start staying in bed like the doctor told you in the first place. You’re twenty weeks and already having all these issues, Y/N.”
You tried to ignore him but he didn’t let you.
“Are you listening to me?” His voice became a little edgier. “Do you not care?”
“Obviously I care, Tyler.” You snatched the washcloth off of your face to look at him. “But you act like it’s always like that. It’s not. It’s just when I’ve been walking around a lot which is normal.”
Tyler’s hands stilled as he stared back at you before he tore his eyes away with a long, drawn out sigh.
A few days later, you just got back from the arena together after a long night at work. He had groggy eyes as he watched you head straight for the bed, collapsing down on top of the sheets, exhausted.
He took your shoes off for you, noticing the swelling of your feet getting worse like he had been telling you for weeks, but he didn’t say anything this time because he knew you’d just argue about it.
“I’m gonna go shower.” He whispered as he leaned down and placed a kiss to your forehead.
“Wait” you whispered before he could turn around, grabbing his forearm. “Let me take one with you.”
Knowing you already took one right before you both left for work, he was apprehensive about it. You hadn’t been intimate in a couple of weeks due to the fact that he was simply terrified that he could possibly do something to hurt you and the baby so, every time you tried, he would always find some excuse not to.
But he knew it was making you feel sad that he would no longer touch you the way he really wanted to. He could tell that you were deprived and so was he, he was just so scared and so tired of being that way so he tried to do everything in his power to prevent anything at all happening that he possibly could.
He sighed as he kneeled down beside the bed to get eye level with you. He was starting to get dark circles under his eyes from all the constant worry and sleepless nights and you felt a pain in your heart when you saw it.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” He whispered, his eyes searching yours for any hint that you weren’t, but you nodded and let a small smile linger upon your lips before you leaned foward and placed a kiss to his own, trying to reassure him but he was convinced nothing would until he’s holding you and your child in his arms.
He hesitated, but he nodded before he stood up and grabbed your hand, helping you off the bed.
It had been so long since you’d been tangled up in a moment like this with him that he was struggling, genuinely not to lose all of his control.
The shower started out with you both slowly removing each others clothes. He placed lingering kisses to your shoulder as he unclasped your bra and slid the straps down your arms. He tasted the flavor of your smooth skin and his tongue immediately recognized it, as if he’d been craving it.
He made sure you understood him when he cupped your cheeks with his calloused hands and said, “If you need me to stop, please, please tell me. Don’t think twice about it, okay?”
He led you into the shower, adjusting the temperature just the way you like it. The water casted down over both of your bodies and steam began swirling around as his lips landed on yours gently.
He was trying with all his might not to get too carried away and it was the hardest thing for him to do when your hands ran down his chest, nails gently raking over his abs.
Your bump was keeping a little distance between you when all you wanted was to merge with his body, be as close as humanly possible but, he found a way to make it happen when he sat down on the hotel’s shower seat and pulled you over him, straddling his thighs as he kissed all down your neck.
You were so deprived of this and hadn’t realized it until just then. Your body was tingling, skin was ignited with a thousand little fires everywhere he touched.
You reached down in pure anticipation and grabbed his hard length, wrapping your hand around it and earning a breathy sigh to slip past his lips.
Just as you positioned yourself, he caught your eyes and searched for any sign of hesitation one last time, but you gave him nothing but assurance when you lowered yourself onto him and your eyes instantly rolled back.
You were squeezing him so tight it was hard for him to keep himself composed but he was intently watching you and every single reaction carefully.
Your hands gripped his shoulders and you started slowly swaying your hips back and to, feeling him completely fill the space between your walls.
His eyes fluttered as you rocked against him, his hands holding you by the hips as he watched you use him for what you needed. The steam filled your throat as you sucked in a deep breath when he started thrusting his hips slowly.
“Is it too much?” He heavily breathed out. “Tell me if it is.”
You shook your head abruptly and dug your nails into his shoulders. “No, not too much” you moaned out as your hips moved in perfect harmony. “Feels so good”
Your breathy sighs and sweet moans kept his head spinning as he pushed himself into you, watching the beads of hot water slide down your body. His hands roamed around your waist and slid up your back as he wrapped his arms around you, holding you closer to him.
Your head dropped to his shoulder as he picked up the pace just a little bit, making your moans morph into sounds he’d never heard from you before.
“I love you, mamas” he heavily whispered before he placed three kisses to your shoulder.
You were quickly coming to the beautiful end and he could feel it when your walls throbbed around him, sucking him right back in every time he slid halfway out of you.
“Baby, I want you to come for me.” He tightens his arms around you, your breasts pushed against his chest, the need for the closeness you’d been dying to feel again finally satisfied.
“I want to feel your come dripping down my thighs, then you’re gonna feel mine when I fill you up, and it’s dripping out of you in the morning.” His hips jolt, hitting that spot so deep you felt your entire body buzz.
“Want you to be so fucked out like your pretty little ass deserves to be. Want you to think about this-“ he speeds up, holding you still while he fucks up into you, “every single time I’m not around. Can you do that? Can you come for me mamas? I want it, baby. I need it.”
His voice was filled with desperation as he tried to hold back. He was hearing the mixed moans and whimpers filling the steamy space and coupling that with your slick bodies sliding against one another was doing nothing but making him suffer, so close to his release but he needed to get you there first.
He pulled you back, his eyes watching the dazed and blissed out look casted over your face as you bit down on your lip in an attempt to keep from screaming too loud but,
“Go ahead” he coaxed you, “be as loud as you need to be. I wanna hear it. Wanna hear what you have to say about this. Wanna hear those pretty little lips scream my name for this entire hotel to hear.”
You were puffing and panting when those breathy sighs turned into loud whimpers that got lost within his mouth the second he covered yours with his.
His tongue slid over yours and swirled around it, the flavor of mint gum finding your tastebuds and tingling your tongue.
“Come on beautiful” he whispered, “come for me”
It was almost as if he said the magic words. Your entire body jolted, muscles clenched tight as a surge rushed through your veins and his name flew past your lips.
He watched with eyes of adoration before his hits stuttered, then stilled. You collapsed against his chest and he buried his face in the crook of your neck as you both endured the sensations riveting through your bodies.
Heavy breaths mixed into the steam as the two of you came down and he kept his arms wrapped tightly around you as he held you for five extra minutes longer.
He felt a little less apprehensive about it after that night in the shower but once your belly started rounding out, he suddenly became ten times more protective over you.
He didn’t want you in any crowds, he didn’t want you around too many people, he didn’t want you driving, he especially didn’t want you out of his sights in general.
Every time you had a segment to shoot he was right there behind the camera. Anytime you wanted to go shopping or out to eat he made sure he scheduled in the time to do it. His biggest fear was something happening to you and it was exemplified now more than ever now.
He gave up trying to get you to take that maternity leave and decided he just needed to take a new approach. He made sure you stayed close by at all times. You wanted to be ringside for his matches but he adamantly refused, so to meet in the middle, he had you sit at the commentator desk right next to his dad.
By this time there was absolutely no way that his oversized hoodie would hide your belly so, the one and only time you stepped back in the ring was when you and him made the announcement that you were expecting and that it was a boy.
He walked over to you and removed your coat, revealing your twenty-eight week bump for the world to see. He stood next to you proudly as you both took in the chaotic screams all around the arena before he pulled you into him and kissed you for the first time on camera, and in front of thousands of people in the crowd.
But the moment things seemed to have been looking up, the doctor broke the news that you had pre-eclampsia. Another term Tyler didn’t know, but it scared him half to death after he spent hours googling horror stories about it.
There was no room for arguing anymore when he told you it was time to take that maternity leave. He brought you to Tony’s office ready to do whatever the hell he had to do in order to get you out of work whether you liked it or not.
You sat in the chair with your swollen legs propped up on the one next to you that he would’ve been sitting in while he stood behind you, massaging your shoulders.
“Pre-eclampsia is serious, Y/N.” Tony told you, Tyler nodding in agreement silently. “I know you wanted to be here as long as you could but you need to put your safety and the safety of your son first.”
You were on the verge of tears for the fact that you knew you were going to have to say goodbye to your job for a while now.
“I wouldn’t feel comfortable keeping you here when I know the only thing you need to be doing is resting.”
You felt Tyler’s hands give your shoulders a squeeze and if you looked up at him you knew you’d see nothing but relief.
“I know.” You sighed. “I just don’t want to leave. I love it here. I love my career. I’ll never love any other career like this, and I know that.”
“Your position is always going to be secured here.” Tony assured you. “You can come back and I’ll gladly resign you whenever the time is right for you and your family. But for right now, you need to focus on you and your child. That’s the most important thing.”
And that’s what you did. Every so often you made a small appearance at the commentator table to watch Tyler’s match but that was only when he didn’t feel like arguing with you to stay back at the hotel and let you come to the arena because you just missed it too much.
You were nearing your induction date and he was about to take a month off for bonding time but he had one final match and you wanted more than anything to be there.
You stayed next to taz at the table and watched tyler in the ring. He wanted to stay focused on his match against Jack Perry especially knowing the FTW title was on the line but all he could think about was you and how you’d been having on and off contractions for days.
He was so exhausted from making two hospital visits only to be sent back home when they told you that you weren’t in labor just yet even though you’d been having so many tightenings and pains in your stomach. He felt like at any moment you were going to have to head to the hospital, so he wasn’t sleeping, to say the least.
“And I just want to say, for the record that my grandson is going to be here this time next week” taz exclaims on commentary, grinning from ear to ear. “So if you don’t see me next Wednesday, it’s because I’ve got better things to do than sit with these two guys”
You chuckled at that and watched the ring. Tyler was giving it his all but you knew how it was going to end and even though you hated that, you were thankful that Tony came up with something last minute when Tyler told him he needed to take his time off a little early. It meant he was losing the FTW title but when he returns, he’ll win it back.
His eyes kept lingering over to you every chance he got, making sure you were okay. He knew his dad was there so he felt a little more comfortable but in his mind he always thought about really improbable what ifs, like what if someone from the crowd jumps up on stage and tries to attack you or the building just suddenly collapses.
His mind was ate up with fear at this point and he was unfortunately letting it show tonight as much as he tried not to.
Once the match was over he waited for Jack to finally get out the ring so he could get off the canvas and back to you. He walked over to you, the crowd popping when they saw him grab your hand and lead you over to the stage. They may not have realized how far along you were until they saw your well rounded belly.
Tyler turned to face the crowd for what he knew was going to be the very last time for at least a month, and it was bittersweet for him and you but now he could finally give all of his attention and focus to you and your son and that was the only reason why he finally felt a little bit of relief. After such a long and terrifying nine months you were finally about to meet your son and all of these complications and worries would wash away the second you both lay eyes on him.
“You’re looking at Hook and Y/N for the last time like this folks. Next time you see them, they’re gonna be parents.” Taz says as he watches you and Tyler take in the screams and chants for the last time. “And I’m gonna be one proud grandfather.”

You blew out a breath as you set down the last box. “Ok, I think we’re done sweetie,” said your dad from his spot across the room.
You collapsed on the bed, exhausted from hauling boxes into your new dorm. The place you’ll be living for the next school year. “Your mom’s already in the car, said she couldn’t handle this part.”
You sat up and smiled. “Yeah, I don’t know if I can either.”
Your dad chuckled. “Come here kiddo.” You stood up and walked over, your dad pulling you into a warm embrace. “If you need anything, just let us know, we’ll be here faster than you can blink.”
“I’ll be okay,” you whispered.
“And…try to make friends honey. It’s a new place, new people. Get out there, okay? Promise me you won’t just lock yourself in here all the time.”
“I promise,” you pulled away. “I actually have an orientation to get to in about an hour, I’m sure I’ll meet tons of people there.”
“I love you,” he squeezed your shoulders for emphasis. “I know this was hard for you, breakups-”
“Dad I promise I’m fine.” You didn’t want to talk about this at all, let alone with your father.
He stared at you for a while before seemingly giving up. Your dad let out a sigh, “Fine. But if you decide this isn’t for you, if you think college completely sucks I’ll come pick you up in a heartbeat.”
You smiled and leaned over to press a kiss to his cheek. “Thanks, Dad. Tell Mom I love her.”
“Will do kid,” he ruffled your hair. “Now let me get outta here before I start sobbing.”
You laughed and gave him one last hug before waving him off. You fell onto your bed again and let out a sigh. Across the room stood another bed, empty. For now. You hadn’t met your roommate, and you didn’t really want to. You weren’t in the mood for introductions and small talk. You weren’t even sure if you were up for going to that orientation you’d told your dad about, it was recommended, not mandatory.
There was only one person you wanted to talk to, whose voice you craved to hear. The problem was, it was the one person you couldn’t call.
Columbia definitely wasn’t going how you thought it would.
Tumblr media
Your first week flew by, you’d met all of your professors and for the most part, they were all pretty nice. You’d even made some friends; a girl named Marissa and another one named Lola. You’d met them both at the freshman orientation andthey were really sweet. You ended up going after your dad had sent you a little reminder (you wondered if he had known you were lying) and you figured it couldn’t hurt. They were nice enough people and it was good to get to know your peers. Your roommate, Lindsay, had come in on your second day, but apparently, she was dating some dude who owned an apartment right off campus and she spent most of her time there.
Clubs and all different frats and sororities were camping out in little booths all around campus trying to get new members. Seeing the photography club’s booth sent a sharp jab of pain through your heart every time. It was even worse when you realized one of the biggest photography classes was in the building right next to the English building, which is where most of your classes would be taking place. For your whole time there.
It was one day a couple of weeks into your classes, you were exiting a class where you been debating whether it was better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all. Some students were talking privately, but the teacher had overheard them and made it a class discussion, exclaiming that she thought it was 'a trendy enough subject to raise engagement and break the ice’.
Then as you stepped out of the doors to your class, a flyer flew in from beside you and landed right at your feet. When you picked it up you realized it was a flyer for the annual photography competition. It was actually a pretty big thing around here and you’d heard a few students talking about it.
You didn’t usually believe in signs but these seemed pretty clear.
Without overthinking it, you pulled out your phone.
hey
saw something abt photography and thought of you lol. how are you hows school so far ?
You bit your lip in anticipation. You weren’t expecting him to reply right away but…you were nervous he might not have even replied at all.
He was the one who’d said maybe no contact for a while might help, but he’d also said you could call him whenever, and he’d be there for you, no matter what.
i was just thinking about you
The words made your heart skip a beat as you saw them sprawled across your screen.
school’s great, still trying to get the hang of things but it’s gotten easier
my roommate’s kinda boring, but maybe that’s for the best. he could be a crazy person
You laughed until another message showed up on your screen.
how’s columbia? is it everything you dreamed it would be?
no of course not. we were supposed to go here together, we were supposed to BE together. i can’t go anywhere without thinking of you and all i want to do is call you and hear your voice and for things to be okay between us again.
But you couldn’t send that.
yeah ! it’s great but like you said, lots of adjusting haha
are you happy?
And you weren’t sure what it was exactly, but something about that text made you tear up. Were you happy? The answer should’ve been an automatic yes, you’d gotten into your dream school after stressing all year about it, you had got the classes you wanted, and everything was seemingly fine. Great even. But you couldn’t shake the hollow emptiness you’d been carrying since graduation.
You’d gotten what you’d wanted, yes. It just wasn’t how you’d imagined it.
yeah i am :)
glad to hear it ace
look ive got to go i have a class starting. talk to you soon
bye pete
bye
It wasn’t normal. At least, it wasn’t your normal and you hated it. But maybe now, it was.
Tumblr media
Your heart raced when you saw the notification. You were so close to tapping it, reading the whole thing but you held back. Columbia’s acceptance emails went out today and you and Peter were supposed to open yours together.
You were waiting for him on the fire escape bouncing your leg up and down anxiously. Checking your phone for the time again, you decided you’d just call him.
“Hey Ace,” you heard his voice through the speaker, along with an array of other noises.
“You’re out. Are you out? It’s okay, we can talk later.” You replied quickly.
Peter chuckled on the other end. “No, it’s fine. I’m just swinging.”
You frowned. “I thought we agreed, no swinging and talking. You get too distracted Petey.”
“No you agreed Ace, I just politely listened.” You could hear the smirk in his voice.
“Peter,” you said in a warning tone.
“Sorry, sorry.” He laughed. “I’m on my way.”
“Oh?”
“Duh. I know what today is, I got my notification. I’m almost there.”
“Have you checked?”
“‘Course not Ace,” he chuckled. “Have you?”
“No, no way, of course not.”
“Great, I’ll be there in five.”
“Okay, I’ll see you then,” you pulled the phone away to hang up and you could hear his protesting. Quickly, you yelled into the speaker, “Watch where you’re swinging babe!” And you hit the red button.
He always said he preferred swinging on call with you, but there’d been too many close calls of him almost swinging into a building or in front of a car for you to be okay with it.
Sure enough, in almost exactly five minutes Peter landed on your fire escape, feet on the ground, perfectly contact.
“Good, you're here.” You rushed over and pulled him into a hug, kissing his cheek as he swiped his mask off.
He pressed a kiss to the top of your head, “Thank you for waiting Ace, I’m sure it must’ve driven you crazy.”
“No, I’m good.” You said too quickly to sound true.
He laughed. “Okay,” he pulled away and gripped your shoulders. He shook you slightly and grinned. “Let’s do this!”
You sit down on the floor cross-legged and unlock your phone. Peter followed suit as you stared at him. You both pulled up your applications, ready to see the change in your status.
Accepted or denied.
A new door to your future, either opened or slammed in your face.
“Ready?” He asked you gently.
“Yeah, are you?”
He nodded. “Okay on the count of three. One. Two. Three.”
You clicked. You almost didn’t want to read and you were sure if Peter weren’t there you would’ve stalled a little more, but the words were in front of you now.
Dear Y/N Y/L/N,
Congratulations! It is a pleasure for me to inform you that you have been accepted for admission to Columbia College. The faculty and staff would like to commend you on your past accomplishments, which formed the basis of our admission decision in a highly competitive pool of applicants. We look forward to working with you in your future academic endeavors. Please visit the Welcome to Columbia website at:
You stopped reading. Your mouth hung open and you couldn’t believe it. You kept rereading that first sentence over and over as if it would morph before your eyes and call you out for believing it in the first place.
You looked up. Peter had a similarly awestruck expression on his face as he met your eyes.
“What does yours say?”
“What does yours say?”
He laughed. “Nuh-uh. I asked first Ace.”
Silently, you hand him your phone, letting him see for himself because you can't even form the words. You got in.
It didn’t take him long, probably only reading the first few words before he put the phone down and pulled you into a tight hug.
“I’m so proud of you Ace,” he whispered. “See? I told you you’d get in.”
You squeezed him. “I love you so much Petey, but come on you need to show me yours, s’only fair.”
“Don’t wanna,” he mumbled into your hair.
Your brows furrowed. Why wouldn’t he want to show you? It would only make you happier to read his acceptance letter as well. You pulled away and reached for his phone on the floor. Peter didn’t stop you.
Dear Peter Parker,
The Committee on Admissions has carefully reviewed your application to Columbia University, and we are sorry to inform you that we cannot offer you a place in—
You couldn’t believe it. You read it over and over and over again. Never once in a million years did you think Peter wouldn’t get in. The boy was a fucking genius and you couldn’t believe they would reject him.
“Ace it’s not that big of a deal, honestly-”
“What? Of course it is,” you looked up at him, anger coursing through your veins. “They’re fucking idiots. They’re pieces of shit and this,” you held up his phone, “this is the biggest load of bullshit I’ve ever seen.”
He cracked a small smile. “Actually, that’s my phone. With you on the lock screen mind you.”
You weren’t feeling it. “Peter, they suck.”
“Obviously not if they accepted you.”
“Nuh-uh,” you shook your head quickly. “I don’t wanna go.”
“What?”
“No,” you shook your head some more. “I don’t trust people with such terrible judgment to lead me into my ‘future academic endeavors’. I don’t trust those little shits at all.”
“Ace come on, you don’t mean that.” He gave you a look.
“No, I totally do. Actually, I might just-”
He cut you off, leaning in and pressing a kiss to your mouth. But just as soon as it’d begun, it was over. Peter leaned back, “That always works whenever you’re too worked up.”
“Peter,” you said, and your voice sounded defeated.
“Ace listen to me,” he cupped your face and stared straight into your eyes. “You are going to go to that school, and you’re gonna love it. There is absolutely no way I’m running this for you.”
“You’ll ruin it by not being there,” you mumbled.
“No, I won’t. Because you’re going to be too busy blowing everyone's mind and being the absolute best version of yourself that you can be.”
You laughed softly but it held no humor in it. “But we were supposed to go together.”
“But that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying it without me. So what if I didn’t get in? I applied to other schools, greatschools. And if I really feel like it, I can always transfer, it’s easier that way isn’t it?”
“And what about us?” You bit the inside of your cheek anxiously.
“Nothing’s gonna happen to us Ace,” he smooshed your face making you laugh. “Just because we aren’t going to the same school doesn’t mean we have to break up.”
It felt like a weight had been lifted off your shoulders. You weren’t aware of just how terrified you’d been for the future of your relationship until he’d said that. You know people had little to no faith in high school relationships but…something was different about you and Peter. You were sure of it. You’d get through this.
Tumblr media
You made your way through the halls. You were in an old building, one of the campus’ firsts, and you were on your way to the newsroom. Today was your first official day and to say you were nervous was an understatement. You knew how serious this was, they were the second-oldest college daily paper in the country, and they didn’t just let anyone onto their team. You were ready to prove yourself and prove that you’d be a great addition to the news staff.
Also, you needed something that would get you to stop thinking about Peter. You’d talked a few more times after that first week, and it was always you who initiated your chats. They never went past simple hey’s and how are you’s and then one of you (usually Peter) had to run off. It was so strange for you to think that once you two could’ve talked about nothing and everything for hours and now you could barely get past simple greetings.
You stopped in front of a door, checked the number beside it to make sure you had the right one and took a deep breath before turning the handle.
You heard all the commotion before you saw it, confirming your suspicions that this was the newsroom. Before you, the room was filled with desks, each one supporting its own computer and keyboard, most of them filled. Some desks were neat and tidy, their chairs empty, looking as if they hadn’t been touched. Others were the complete opposite, you couldn’t see the surface of them, they were covered in stacks and stacks of papers, loose pencil shavings, and various other items.
There was a whiteboard on the same side of the wall as the door and it was almost completely covered in lists, locations, and time stops for certain activities. There were copies of different editions of the paper framed and hanging on the wall. You smiled, this was perfect.
Suddenly, you felt a tap on your shoulder. You turned around and came face to face with a guy who looked to be a couple of years older than you. He had cropped black hair and stubble covering the entire bottom half of his face.
“First day, right?” He asked you.
You nodded quickly and offered him your hand. “Y/N Y/L/N.”
He accepted it and nodded. “Yeah, I remember you Y/L/N, your try-out piece was good. Really good.”
Pride bloomed in your chest and you gave him a smile. “Thanks. Where do you want me?” You gestured at the room.
He narrowed his eyes slightly before giving you the smallest of smiles, a little quirk on the sides of his lips. “Straight to business, I like that. Think we’re gonna get along pretty well Y/L/N, come on.” He started walking you through the room and introducing everyone and their roles. “I’m Brandon, the editor, over there we’ve got our photographers, that girl,” he pointed to a redhead working at her desk, “Alyssa, she’s editor-in-chief. Helps with things I can’t get around to and when there’s an overload of articles, like now.
“It’s not usually this crowded in here, usually the only people always in here are the writers but, you know, start of the school year,” he gestured vaguely, “lots of new editions, things to be sorted.” He stopped in front of one of the desks that looked like it hadn’t been touched. “This is your place. Actually, we already have something for you to work on.”
You sat in your chair and got adjusted. “Great! Anything.”
He smirked. “We need someone to cover the new bathrooms opening near Kent Hall. Good luck,” he tapped your desk before heading off to deal with other things.
You stared for a bit, when you’d said anything that wasn’t really what you meant, but you figured you had to start somewhere.
“Don’t worry,” a voice spoke from beside you and you turned towards him. “They do that to all the newbies, it’s like a right of passage or something. Write the shitty articles for the first few months, prove your worth, or some bullshit like that.” He rolled his eyes and gave you a small. Holding out his hand he said, “James Blake, nice to meet you.”
You returned his smile and shook his hand, “Y/N Y/L/N, nice to meet you too James.”
He grinned. James was blonde, he had a dazzling smile, and striking green eyes. Honestly, he looked more fit for a magazine cover, not a newsroom. “Well Y/N, I was in your shoes last year. It gets better,” he sent you a wink.
You laughed, “Actually, I don’t mind. I’m just happy to be here.”
“That’s the kinda attitude that’ll make you editor in a few years if you want it,” he clicked his tongue and leaned back in his chair.
You tried not to blush, his gaze was intense and you had a feeling he was trying to gauge what kind of reaction you’d have, though you weren’t sure why. “Right now the only thing I’m worried about are those new bathrooms near Kent.”
James laughed. “Fair enough. If you need anything, I’ll be right here. Don’t be shy to ask for help.” He winked at you again and you thanked him before turning on your computer and getting to work.
Your first day in the newsroom was mostly getting used to everything. The people were cool, you had a great time getting to know them all, and you could definitely see yourself working here for the rest of the year, even longer than you hoped. You’d written down the keynotes for your article and had planned to start working on it later that week after you walked over to Kent Hall and got a look for yourself. It was a lousy topic, sure, but that would stop you from trying your best and proving yourself.
Tumblr media
It was true what they said, your first semester does fly by. Or at least that’s what you’d heard and now you understood. It was December now, almost winter break, and you almost couldn’t believe it.
Your first article on the Daily Spectator had gone over pretty well. It was small, practically pointless as it was shoved somewhere in the back where almost no one looks, but Brandon liked that you didn’t just half-ass it and he’d started to (gradually) give you better topics to work on. You were hoping that by the end of the year, you might get your hand on one of the campus hot topics.
You’d gone out a few times, Marissa and Lola from your first week were always inviting you out to different places andyou envied their easygoingness. You’d accepted a few times but you always went home earlier than them, you never seemed to really fit in those places.
Tonight, you were going out with a few of your friends from the newspaper. Over the past couple of months, you quickly became close with some of them, especially Alyssa. Even James, who was an okay guy, if a little cocky, but overall they were all good people.
One of your favorite things about Columbia was its campus and the fact that it was in the city. Walking around now, the snow glittered under all the lights, reminding you of the stars you and Peter used to watch together. You looked up at the empty sky and wondered if he could see any stars where he was now, if they reminded him of you.
You walked into the restaurant and took off your coat. You were wearing a simple sweater dress with a high neck and a pair of ankle boots. You spotted Alyssa sitting at a table waving you over and you smiled as you walked towards her.
“Hey everyone,” you took a seat beside Alyssa. Directly across from you, James shot you a grin.
“Hey Y/N, we’re still waiting on Nikki and Gavin,” Alyssa said. Her phone dinged and she checked it before saying, “That was her, they’ll be here in 5.”
Conversations flowed around the table and soon, Nikki and Gavin arrived. Everyone was laughing and having a great time and when the waiter arrived to take your orders, it took you a second to notice.
“Let me guess your order,” James leaned over the table with a small smile as the waitress started going around the table.
You grinned. “Go ahead.”
“Hmm…” he opened up the menu in front of him and pointed to a listing of words. “Shrimp?”
Laughing, you shook your head. “No.”
“Okay, okay. Are you vegan? Any food allergies I should know about?” He wondered.
“I’m getting the Fettucini Alfredo, what about you?” The way he gasped you thought you’d asked him to take his pants off right then and there.
He shook his head, “I can’t believe you ruined the game. I was supposed to guess Y/N.”
You winced. “Sorry.”
“It’s alright, have you ever tried their steak?” He gave you one of his infamous smiles, “It’s great.”
“No actually, I haven’t been here before.”
“Really? Alright wait,” he held up a hand and turned his head. You hadn’t even realized the waitress had gotten to you. “I’ll have the ribeye, medium rare. And same for her,” he pointed towards you.
You stared as the waitress turned toward you. “Any sides?”
“Um, the seasoned fries with a cherry coke please.” You weren’t really sure what to order anymore, James had just completely thrown you off.
When the waitress finished up and walked away to hand your orders in, James turned toward you again. “You’re gonna love it, you’ll see.”
Jokes were shared around the whole table throughout the whole dinner and you were glad you got to have a night like this before finals week. James kept asking what you thought about the steak and while you didn’t hate it, you didn’t love it either. It wasn’t what you had wanted. But you didn’t want to hurt his feelings so you smiled and told him it was great.
By the end of the night, you were stuffed and ready to go home. “You sure you don’t wanna join? Nikki said she hooked up with one of the security guards once and she thinks she could get us into the VIP section.” You had just finished paying for your food and Alyssa was currently trying to convince you to head over to some club with them. And you might’ve been tempted if your phone hadn’t just buzzed in your hands. When you looked down you saw that it was a message. From Peter.
Your heart fluttered in your chest. He texted you.
“Sorry Lyss, I’m not up for it,” you made a face, “I’m pretty sure I’m about to start my period and I’m feeling a little off.” It wasn’t a lie, but it wasn’t the complete truth.
She nodded in understanding. She pulled you in for a hug, “Alright, well if you need anything, let me know. And if you change your mind, the address was sent in the group chat.”
You smiled at her when you pulled away. Alyssa had the sweetest soul of anyone you’d met and you were glad to call her a friend. “I will thank you, and that goes for you too. If you need a ride or anything, let me know and I’ll come pick you up. And turn on your location.”
“Already done,” she grinned. You returned the grin and said your last goodbyes to everyone before making your way to the door, you were itching to step outside and open your phone. But instead, a hand gripped your shoulder. You turned around to see James smirking as he looked at you.
“Leaving so soon?” He asked.
You nodded, “Not really up for clubbing tonight, but you guys have fun!” You made to pull away but he held you back.
“You sure,” he furrowed his brows, “it’s not that late. If you come, you don’t even have to stay long.”
Smiling, you nodded again. “Yeah, I’m sure. Thanks for asking though.”
“Anytime,” he shot you another grin but…it wasn’t quite right. He still looked handsome as ever, sure, but if you didn’t know any better you’d think he looked a little disappointed. “Well, have a good night Y/N.”
“You too James, bye.” You waved at him and walked out the door without looking back. As soon as you were out the door, your phone was opened and in your messages app, opening you and Peter’s chat.
hey ace, how’ve you been?
hey pete <3 i’ve been good, just finished dinner with some friends. what about you ?
that’s nice I hope you had a good time.
i’m good thanks.
actually i wanted to ask what your plans for winter break are
nothing actually, you ?
i’m coming back home and i was wondering if i could see you
Your heart almost stopped. He wanted to see you.
You tried not to get your hopes up, it probably meant nothing. Obviously, you were still friends, or friendly, and maybe he just wanted to catch up. You could only share so much over text. Or maybe….maybe he’s been missing you just as much as you’ve been missing him and he’s realized all this was a big dumb mistake.
Maybe you were getting your hopes up.
i’d love that
when do you get here ?
You two stayed texting back and forth your whole walk home. He sent you a picture of his ticket and told you he and May would love to have you over the next day. You couldn’t fight the giddy smile that took over your face. You were ecstatic he reached out to you and you realized your texts together had probably been off because he was nervous. You knew how anxious he could get sometimes, and you hoped you could resolve that when you saw each other.
You settled in your dorm that night with your heart full and your face lit up. You hadn’t felt this overjoyed in a long time. You wondered what made him bite the bullet and ask, but you could ask him that when you see him. God, you were gonnasee him. This was all you’d been wanting since the summer and now the opportunity just fell into your lap.
You sat on your bed and fell asleep staring out the window with a smile on your face.
Tumblr media
Graduation was right around the corner. The last week of school was a blur. Everyone was throwing parties, teachers were cutting you extra slack, and people who’d never hung out once in the four years they went to school together were all over each other now. It was sweet in a way. As much as you’d all complained and whined about everything, there was a sense of familiarity here, with each other, a community that was coming to an end and it was nice seeing people try to savor it while they could.
Peter had gotten into Duke. You were beyond excited and proud of him and you knew he was excited as well. But you couldn’t help the tiniest part of your brain that selfishly wondered what that meant for you. And honestly, you were scared to ask.
Peter hadn’t brought up anything about your relationship changing or anything else of the sort, so you thought he’d come to the same conclusion you had; you were going to try to do long distance.
Sure, it might be hard but honestly, it was better for you than the alternative, which was ending things. You would definitely choose long-distance over that. So you tried not to worry too much, he was probably thinking exactly like you.
You were sat in a booth at an ice cream parlor with MJ and Ned sitting across from you, and Peter beside you, arm slung over your shoulder. He’d been acting a little weird lately and you hoped this would help cheer him up, it was probably all those end-of-the-year jitters. You were all laughing together, going over all your (least) favorite memories from school.
“Who remembers when Flash brought all those stink sprays to school?” Peter said.
“Oh my god,” Ned started in his seat. “Some kid tripped over his backpack in fifth period and set them all off! The whole class smelled so bad they made us evacuate!”
Everyone cracked up but Ned wasn’t having it. He shook his head quickly, brows furrowed in confusion. “Why are you laughing? It’s not funny! I smelled so bad my mom wouldn’t let me in the house, she made me rinse with the hose in our front yard!”
That just made you all laugh even harder. “Oh my god,” you wheezed out. “I can’t breathe.”
MJ reached across the table and grabbed your hand. Looking you dead in the face with a serious expression she said, “Breathe girl.”
The whole table roared with laughter again. “Why did he have all those bottles of stink spray anyway?” wondered MJ.
“Knowing Flash he probably thought it was cologne,” grumbled Peter, making you laugh again.
Once you’d quieted down Ned leaned back in his spot and sighed. “I’m really gonna miss this.”
You looked around, trying to fully take in this moment. You had no doubt you would all manage to stay in touch but when was the next time you would all be hanging out like this? MJ was headed to Sarah Lawrence, Ned was going to MIT, you (of course) were going to Columbia, and Peter was going to Duke. Five hundred miles away from where you were going to be. 8 hours 27 minutes and 36 seconds.
Sure in the grand scheme of things, you were all still relatively close to each other but…you’d have separate lives. For so long your lives were so intertwined with each other’s and now, you’d have to fight to keep that connection otherwiseyou’d lose it. You reached under the table and grabbed Peter’s free hand, intertwining his fingers with yours. You would fight.
Peter squeezed your hand and you leaned in closer to him. “I’m gonna miss it too,” he said in a soft voice.
“Not me, I can’t fucking wait to get out of there. You guys keep talking though.” MJ said straight-faced making you giggle. You were thankful for her brutal honesty cause you were pretty sure if the conversation kept going in the other direction, it would end with you crying, and you didn’t want that.
The group of you finished your ice cream while talking, got even more ice cream, talked some more, and suddenly you could see the sun setting outside.
“Holy fuck,” you muttered, shoveling a spoon of double chocolate chip into your mouth. “I really thought we’ve only been here for five minutes.”
“Well, now we know what you need to work on before college, Y/N. Your time awareness, we’ve been here for hours.” MJ smirked.
You all laughed except Peter, who squeezed your shoulder and frowned. “She doesn’t need to work on anything, she’sperfect.”
You smiled and leaned over to kiss his cheek, “Thank you, Petey.”
He grinned cheekily at you, “Anytime, Ace.”
Mj rolled her eyes and cut you off with a loud groan. “Oh. My. God. We get it, you are disgustingly in love.” But you didn’t miss the small smile gracing her face.
“You’ll live,” you deadpanned.
She grumbled something you couldn’t make out but before you could ask her what it was, Ned’s phone started ringing. He picked it up and answered.
“Hey mom…already? But…” his voice quieted down. “Ok, ok I’m sorry. Yes, ma’am. Bye.”
He hung up and you were all quiet for a moment before he said, “I changed my mind, I’m so ready for college.”
He dropped his head into his hands, grumbling about something like it’s not funny! while you all laughed. Finally, he stood up. “I actually really do have to go though.”
You all stood up as well, saying your goodbyes. “Yeah I think we should get going too, what do you think?” Peter asked you.
You nodded as you pulled away from your hug with Ned. “I still need to pick up my cap and gown from the dry cleaners.”
Ned nodded, “I got mine earlier today.” You high-fived him and he walked over to Peter and you watched as they did their complicated handshake. They’d claimed otherwise when you’d said exactly that, stating it was just advanced, which you’d said was just geek for complicated.
You snorted as they did their little finger guns. “Dorks,” you muttered. But you loved it.
“You can say that again,” MJ agreed, and you knew she loved it too. Staring at her for a few seconds, you launched at her with your arms open and pulled her into a tight hug. She tensed up right away. “I know of your aversion to physical touch, but right now I don’t care,” you murmured, “you’re my best friend and I love you.”
To your surprise, she relaxed into your hold and even hugged you back. “I know I give you a lot of shit,” she whispered back, “but I love you too. All of you. And I’m gonna miss you like crazy.”
“We’re definitely gonna hang out, like all the time, don’t even worry about it.” You reassured her. It was already a pain that Peter would be so far away, you weren’t going to take your closer friends for granted.
She hugged you tighter, “I’m gonna hold you to that Y/L/N.”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way, Jones,” you pulled away and gave her a wicked grin which she returned. Peter approached the two of you, placing a hand on your shoulder he said, “Ned just left.”
“Bye Parker,” she held out a closed fist for him to bump with his, “you’re pretty decent. She bumps you up to Okay.” She nodded towards you which made you blow her a kiss.
Peter chuckled as he fist-bumped her. “Thanks, MJ, I actually think you’re pretty great.”
She nodded, “Yeah, whatever. Still pretty decent.” She moved past you guys and waved as she exited through the door.
Peter sighed and leaned his head over to press a kiss to your hairline. “Hey,” you started, “at least you're ‘pretty decent’ Ifeel like it could’ve been worse.”
“That’s actually exactly what I was thinking,” he said as the two of you walked out of the ice cream shop. You laughed and leaned in closer to him. “I’m not ‘pretty decent’ to you am I?”
You looked up at him seriously, “Do you think I’d be here right now if you were?”
Peter laughed and you could see those crinkles around his eyes that you loved so much. You always measured how good your jokes were by how deep they were and right now, they were pretty deep.
He squeezed your shoulder, “Whatcha staring at Ace?”
You shook your head, “Nothing, you’re just really pretty Peter Parker.”
You could see him blush out of the corner of your eye and it made you smirk. He smiled again, deep and beautiful as ever, and the crinkles were back. “I think you’re prettier Ace.”
Shaking your head, you smiled, “Not a chance pretty boy, you’ve got me beat.”
Peter’s face turned beet red at the nickname and you knew you won. “Hey,” he said in a voice that let you know he was trying to change the subject, “you what you said to MJ back there? Did you mean it?”
“Mean what?”
“Well, you told her she’s your best friend.”
“Okay…” you trailed off as you weren’t quite sure what he was trying to get at.
“Well, I thought I was your best friend.” That made you smile, but when you looked up at him again he was doing the opposite and you just wanted to kiss it away.
“Petey,” you said softly. You would’ve laughed if he hadn’t genuinely looked so dejected. “You are my best friend and so is she. It’s like how Ned is your best friend, but that doesn’t mean I’m not your best friend too. I think a person can have more than one best friend.”
He frowned and it was obvious your answer didn’t appease him. “Ned is not my best friend.”
Your mouth fell open. “What?! Of course, he is Peter, what are you talking about?”
He shook his head, “But he doesn’t outrank you. He’s my friend but you’re more.”
Now it was your turn to frown, “Outrank? This isn’t a competition sweetie. Where’s this coming from?”
He sighed and paused his walking. You leaned in and pressed a palm to the side of his face. “Peter,” you pressed in a gentle voice.
He turned his head and pressed a kiss to your palm before sighing again. “I’m sorry, that was stupid, it didn’t even make sense. It’s just…everything is changing, y’know? And I’m scared. ”
Your heart twisted. “I know Pete, it is scary. But we still have each other, this doesn’t have to change anything. I’ll always be here for you no matter what, no matter how far away you are. Plus, we still have all summer before we have to worry about that.” You gave him a small smile. Peter stared at you for a moment and the silence made you anxious. His eyes looked sad like he was already saying goodbye. Finally, he leaned in and kissed your forehead.
"Promise me no matter what, you'll remember I'll always be your friend."
Your brows furrowed but you agreed. "Of course, I promise."
He blew out a long breath and pulled you into a hug, “I love you, Ace. Always.”
“I love you too Peter.”
Tumblr media
Today was the day.
Today was the day that the past twelve years of your life had led to. All those sleepless nights, insanely late nights, hours upon hours spent hunched over books and worksheets and essays. This is what they were for.
You had woken up early to get ready, but also because you couldn’t sleep you were too excited. You had already done your hair and makeup and were scrolling on your phone until it was time to get dressed when a message from Peter popped up on your screen.
morning ace ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
MORNING !!!!!!!
excited huh?
SUPER !!!!!
i love you
cant wait to see you
The plan was for Peter and May to come over and take photos before you all left for the actual ceremony.
I LOVE YOU MORE XOXO
literally, what are you waiting for come over right now
way ahead of you
Right after you read the text there was a tap on your window, making you jump in surprise. You rushed over and pushed it open, letting him in.
“Hey Ace,” he said, pressing a kiss to your cheek.
“That was quick,” you replied.
He sat on your bed and patted the spot next to him signaling for you to sit as well. Taking up the spot beside him, you grinned at him and leaned in to pinch his cheeks. “What’s wrong Petey? Aren’t you happy you’re graduating?”
He smiled but his eyes didn’t crinkle like they normally do. “Hey,” you pressed with a gentler voice, “sweetie is something wrong? You can tell me.”
He blew out a breath and fell back onto your sheets. “I don’t know how.”
You played on your stomach and propped yourself up on your elbows, “That’s okay, we can figure that out together,” you ran a hand through his hair, admiring the softness of his curls. You always liked it like this, and when he got it cut, he’d started to keep it a little longer than he used to because he knew you liked it.
He looked up at you and you realized how tired his eyes looked, he must’ve been spending more time on patrol lately. You made a mental note to make sure he spent the rest of the summer sleeping well.
“How did I get so lucky to have you?” He murmured and you felt your face heat up at his words.
“I don’t know,” you shrugged, “wished upon a star maybe?”
He grinned. “Maybe, because there's no way you’re not magical.”
You matched his expression as you leaned down and pecked his lips softly. When you moved to pull away his lips chased yours, refusing to let you go that simply.
Somehow, you don’t even remember how, you’d moved and suddenly you were straddling his hips and his hands cupped your ass. You moved one of your hands up to his hair, letting your fingers slightly tug at his curls, making him groan into your mouth.
You could feel his hands gently pulling you down and you obliged, grinding on him as your lips attacked each other. All of a sudden, those same hands on you were being used to flip you over and the next thing you knew, Peter was towering over you, panting, lips plump and red, face flushed, and eyes hazy.
You pulled him back down but there was a knock at your door, making you both jump. Quickly, you held up a finger to Peter’s lips, making sure he didn’t make a sound.
“Y/N honey, are you up?”
“Yes Mom!”
“Alright, well get dressed and come out for some breakfast, we’re gonna need to leave soon.”
“Okay I’ll be right out.” You waited until you heard her footsteps retreating before you moved your finger. “Sorry about that.” You whispered.
“It’s fine Ace,” he smiled and leaned down to press kisses all over your face and neck. You giggled but then remembered he came over for a reason.
Pulling him back by the hair, “Wait, Pete, what was it you wanted to tell me?”
He stared at you in shock, as if he couldn’t believe you remembered. “No um, actually, it can wait. Go eat breakfast,” he kissed right beneath your ear, “I’ll see you in a little bit.”
You grabbed him and pulled him in for one more long kiss. “I love you,” you smiled sweetly at him, “and I’m so proud of you.”
He stared at you for a moment before he grabbed both your hands in his, “I love you so much Ace, and I need you to know that please.” His expression was almost pained, as if the thought of you doubting him for even a second caused physical hurt.
“Of course I know that Pete,” you frowned slightly. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Yeah, yeah I’m fine.” He smiled. Or tried to smile, because once again those crinkles beside his eyes that you loved so much weren’t there, and you had a feeling there was something he wasn’t telling you. But you trusted him, if there wassomething that needed to be said, he would’ve said it.
“Okay,” you leaned in and kissed him, “I’ll see you later.”
“Bye Ace,” he said and walked to the window before crawling on the wall. The first time you’d seen him pull out that trick you’d told him he looked like a lizard.
Finishing getting dressed, you stepped out to have a quick breakfast so you could see Peter faster. Soon, Peter and May were in your apartment and she and your parents were all fawning over the two of you. Peter had given her his camera and she was on picture duty for the day since he would be occupied.
“Okay enough,” you said, taking off your cap and situating your hair. “It’s graduation you guys, not prom. Enough with the poses.”
“Oh, we all remember that,” Peter rolled his eyes making you smirk. The three of them had driven you guys insane with all the poses, the fussing, your dad’s jokes. And you and Peter had surely antagonized them to no end, rolling your eyes and grumbling. It was almost like being split into teams, sometimes, and you found it disgustingly cute how May got along so well with your parents and you and Peter always had each other’s backs.
“We should probably get going, we don’t want to be late,” your mom spoke up and you shot her a grateful look.
Peter looked at you. “You’re riding with me?”
Grinning, you answered, “Duh. I’ve got the playlist completely ready.”
He beamed at you and held out a hand, “Let’s go graduate Ace.” You took his hand and shot a smile over your shoulder towards the rest of your group. “See you!”
“Be safe!” You heard your Mom yell at the same time May said, “Drive carefully Pete!” But you and Peter were bounding down the stairs, your faces lit up like the 4th of July.
“Do you have the keys?” You asked him once you stepped out the door of the building. He smirked at you, “I thought we get there another way,” he flexed his wrists.
“Absolutely not, Peter.” You backed away from him, “Possibly the worst time to swing anywhere.”
He laughed and grabbed your hand, pulling you into his hold, “Relax Ace, I was only joking.” He fished out the keys to May’s car from his pocket and waved them in front of you. “I can’t wait to hear your playlist.” He dropped to give you a kiss before leading you to the passenger’s side door and opening it for you.
“Good,” you smiled as you pulled your seatbelt on and reached for the aux cord. “‘Cause I’ve been working on this for weeks.”
Peter just smiled from beside you and started up the car as you pulled up your playlist. “Okay, I know this probably fits more for after graduation, but I’ve been dying to play it so we’re listening to it now and on the ride home,” you informed him before pressing play on ‘The Spins’ by Mac Miller.
“Whatever you want Ace,” he said as he placed his hand on the head of your seat, turned his head, and turned the wheel as he backed out. Blood rushed to your face as he pulled the car out of its designated parking spot. “But I wanna hear that One Republic song.”
You knew which one he meant. “Already in the playlist and cued up to play next pretty boy.”
He smiled softly and shot you a look from the corner of his eye, “You’re absolutely perfect, y’know that Ace?” Reaching over the center console, he grabbed your hand and intertwined your fingers.
You lifted your enjoined hands and pressed a kiss to his. “I know, and you’re not too bad yourself Peter Parker.”
He squeezed your hand and held it tight for the rest of the ride as you sang your heart out as if he was scared that when he let go, he wouldn’t have the privilege anymore.
When you arrived at the school, Peter rushed out to open your door and the two of walked hand in hand to the auditorium where all the students were to be gathered until they walked out to the football field where the ceremony was being held.
Entering the auditorium, the place was flooding with students and as soon as you saw MJ you were flying out of Peter’s grip and pulling her into another big hug.
“There’s gonna be a lot of these,” you warned her.
“You wouldn’t be you if there weren’t,” she remarked but held you just as tight.
The two of you took a seat over by the chairs while Ned and Peter hung out closer to the doors. As you were talking with MJ you noticed that it looked like they were in a deep, heated conversation and…were you crazy or did Ned keep glancing at you?
“Any idea what they’re up to?” You nudged MJ and jutted your chin in their direction.
“Probably talking about how their bromance will make it through thick and thin,” she rolled her eyes but when she noticed you still staring confusedly in their direction she placed a gentle hand on your shoulder, “Relax Y/N, really, I’m sure it’s fine.”
You could’ve mentioned how Peter had been acting weird for weeks now, that he always seemed to be in a different placelike something constantly plagued his mind. You were sure if anyone had noticed it would’ve been MJ since there was no one you knew who was quite as observant as her. You could’ve mentioned these things and tried to gauge her opinion on it, but just as you were contemplating whether or not you should, your principal walked in and started guiding you all to the doors. It was time.
As students began filing out into the hallways, it was hard to keep track of anyone in the wide array of blue caps and gowns. You had a funny thought of how it kind of looked like a tsunami.
You needed to find Peter and wish him luck one last time, the poor boy had been basically losing his mind for the past few weeks leading up to today and you wanted to make sure he was alright. Standing on your tiptoes looking around while everyone moved ahead, you finally spotted him.
Shoving your way through the bodies you made your way right beside him. “Hey!”
He jumped a little, looking paler than he did before and your heart deflated seeing how affected he was by today. “God, Ace. Scared me.”
“All those super senses and for what? Anyway, listen,” you placed your hand on your shoulder and pushed him so the two of you were to the side of the hallway and the rest of the line moved freely.
“Peter, are you okay?” You asked in a more serious voice, hoping he would just come out and tell you what had been bothering him.
You had no idea why but his face got even whiter. “What do you mean? I’m fine.” He chuckled nervously.
You sighed and gave him a big hug. “It’s gonna be fine Pete, pretty soon we’re gonna be high school graduates driving home.” You grinned up at him.
He tried to reciprocate, he really did, but you could see the strain on his face while he did, which only tugged on your heart more.
“I know Ace,” he pressed a kiss to your forehead, “come on, we have to take our seats soon, I don’t want you getting in trouble.”
You wanted to make a joke about how you weren’t sure you could even get in trouble anymore, but it felt like the wrong time. As the two of you walked onto the field, you kept looking up at him but he wouldn’t meet your eyes. You couldn’t wait for this to just be over so you could get your Peter back.
There was a stage set up at the head of the field, with chairs flanking each end and a podium in the middle. The stage faced all the chairs for the graduating students, which is where you would be in a minute, and the bleachers, which werebehind them, were where all the friends and family were sitting.
Peter walked you to your assigned seat and you pulled him into one last hug, “I’m proud of you Petey.”
He squeezed you so tight you wondered if he knew you’d be seeing each other right after this ceremony. “I’m prouder than you’ll ever know Ace.”
You waved him off with a smile on your face as he made his way through the crowd. You took a deep breath as you sat down, in a few minutes, your principal was up there giving some speech that you zoned out of in favor of finding your friends in the mass of blue all around you.
You found MJ with no problem and she flipped you off as soon as she caught your eyes, and you gave her heart hands and a cheesy grin in return. Ned wasn’t far from her and you gave a little wave which he returned with a sad half-smile. Weird…but it was Ned so you didn’t take it to heart.
When you saw Peter he was already gazing at you with an unreadable expression. Hoping to ease him up a little, you sent a storm of air kisses and you watched as he laughed and pretended to catch them all.
Pretty soon they were calling the names. You clapped for everyone, cheering a little for kids you were closer with, but going all out for your closest friends.
When MJ was called up you were hollering like a maniac, smashing your hands together as hard as you could. When it was Ned’s turn you whistled as loud as you could and when Peter was called up, you jumped up, lifted your hands over your head, and screamed.
You watched his knowing smile as he made his way across the stage, he’d heard you, and after he’d trapped his diplomahe caught you staring and mouthed an ‘I love you’. You smiled happily as you blew him more air kisses.
You didn’t have it in you to be embarrassed at all. Everyone was going the extra mile to cheer on their friends and whileyou might’ve tried to be less obnoxious on any other occasion, it was your graduation and Peter deserved some obnoxious cheering for how much he’d been stressing lately.
When it was your turn the cheering was returned tenfold. Peter, Ned, MJ, and all your other friends were clapping and yelling for you. You spotted your parents sitting with May in the back and you waved to the three of them excitedly. You heard Peter give an extremely loud whistle as you grabbed your diploma and shook hands with your teacher, which made you grin absurdly. By the time you made it back to your seat your face hurt from smiling so much.
You were buzzing with excitement as you waited for it all to be over so you could go and celebrate with everyone. It seemed like a lifetime till you heard the huge “Congratulations!’ on the speakers and everyone was standing up and throwing their caps into the air.
The atmosphere was amazing, everyone was buzzing with an energy different than you’d ever felt before and you knew right then, you’d always look back fondly at this moment right now.
MJ was beside you in an instant and you almost burst into tears at the fact that she was the one to hug you this time. “You were taking too long,” she mumbled and you felt a few tears slip out.
Soon Ned and Peter were on the two of you and you shoved into a big group hug, which had MJ rolling her eyes. “I only wanted her,” she stated, but you knew that wasn’t true.
You slipped out when you noticed Ned and MJ congratulating each other and took that as your chance to tackle Peter in a huge bear hug.
“You finally did it!” You laughed, arms hooked around his neck as he lifted you slightly.
“We did it, Ace,” he said and you almost melted into a puddle right then when you pulled away and noticed he was smiling. The crinkles were back.
But they didn’t last long.
The two of you made your way over to where your parents and May were awaiting you and they all pulled you into a fierce hug. Your mom was a mess and you tried to calm her down telling her if she didn’t stop, you’d be crying right beside her. Your dad was a little more composed but you could still see the emotion on his face. “I’m really proud of you kiddo.” He mumbled as he held you tight.
“Thank you, Dad,” you sniffled a little. You were barely out of that when May was crushing you with her arms, making you laugh. She was always good at that, cheering you up.
“I can’t believe you just graduated high school!” She said in disbelief. “I know,” you replied equally as confused.
Laughing, she pulled you in tighter and pulled Peter in as well. When you looked up at him he looked a little green in the face, making worry flood through you completely. What could it possibly be now? You had yourself convinced, and he did too, that it was just nerves about graduation, that the celebration was reminding him of the reality of growing up and your lives truly starting was hitting him a little harder. You thought that once it happened he’d relax a little and give himself a little time to breathe. Apparently not.
You pulled him away once you weren’t out of May’s grasp and she was talking with your parents. “Peter,” you whispered, your voice filled with worry for him, “you have to tell me what’s going on.”
“Yeah,” he croaked, eyes turning slightly red which didn’t help your anxiety at all. You watched as he stared past you andwhen you followed his trail of sight, you saw May staring at the two of you with a solemn expression.
Oh no.
You knew in your heart what was about to happen, and yet you wished with everything in you that it wouldn’t.
“Come on,” he mumbled, grabbing your hand and leading you back towards the school. You followed him wordlessly as he opened the door and pulled back into the halls, the same halls you had comforted him just a bit ago, before the two of you had officially graduated you realized.
“Peter,” you repeated, a little breathless this time because no, there was no way. He couldn’t be doing this right now, not…not after everything.
“Ace,” he sighed and rubbed the back of his neck, looking away.
“Peter,” you repeated but your voice was harder this time, letting him know that you were done with him beating around the bush. If he was going to do this, he could come right out and say it.
“I leave in 2 days,” he said quickly. It felt like a slap to the face.
“What do you mean?” Your brain couldn’t comprehend what he was saying.
He continued as if he hadn’t heard your question, avoiding your eyes as he did so. “Well technically I leave tomorrow, but I arrive the day after so…? I’m not really sure what—”
“Peter!”
He sighed and grabbed your hands, looking you in the face. “Ace, I am so sorry, like so, so, sorry. I wanted to tell you sooner I really did, and I tried! But every time it felt like it would just ruin everything and I couldn’t, I couldn’t ruin it, so I waited and—”
“Peter I swear to god if you don’t tell me exactly what the fuck you're talking about I will leave your fucking imprint on one of these lockers.”
You watched him gulp and you felt a strange sort of satisfaction seeing how you scared him. “I’m leaving,” he said in a quieter tone. “I got accepted into one of Duke's scientific summer programs and I leave tomorrow.”
It felt like a fucking punch to the gut.
“What program,” you said in disbelief, your mind reeling with all this information. “You never said anything about a program.” You looked up at him with a hurt expression.
“Ace, you’ve got to believe me when I tell you I thought I had no fucking shot getting in, I mean,” he squeezed your hands as he spoke, “really. You should see how exclusive these things are. I wasn’t even going to apply but the dude who gave me my tour around campus convinced me, and then I forgot about it until I got the email, and—”
You shook your head quickly, trying to comprehend everything. “Wait but your tour was months ago.” You looked up at him. “When did you find out you got in?”
His eyes widened and your heart fell at the realization that he’d been keeping this from you for so long. When he didn’t answer you pushed “When Peter?”
“Not that long, I promise, probably a few weeks but I just—it’s been driving me crazy how to bring this up. There was no right time, I mean, I didn’t want to do it before graduation—”
“Well how thoughtful of you to wait till right after,” you snapped back. “No, really, didn’t even give me a chance to get out of the cap and gown!” You pulled away from him and scoffed, not wanting to be anywhere near him.
“Come on Ace, please,” he pleaded, and you dropped your head into your hands. You didn’t want to cry, today was supposed to be a happy day, and it had been! Before all this.
“When do you leave?” You whispered. You were sure he’d mentioned it but you were also sure your head wasn’t working right.
“Tomorrow. At night,” he spoke in an equally quiet voice, as if the softer the sound waves, the softer the blow they would deliver. That wasn’t true.
You held back a sob.
“When do you get back?” An equally important question.
“I…I don’t. The program ends as soon as school starts…May’s shipping my things there.”
It felt as if he was physically tearing your heart out of your chest and stomping on it.
One day. All this time you’d been shoving away dealing with the reality of the situation because you wanted to be able to enjoy your summer, because you believed you still had summer left together and now he was taking that from you. It didn’t even feel like he had pulled the rug out from under your feet it felt as if he had shattered the whole ground.
“Congratulations Peter,” you said sincerely. This was breaking your heart but deny that this was an amazing opportunity. If anyone in the world deserved it, it would be him.
“Ace wait,” he moved in front of you, grabbing your chin and lifting it so you had to see his sad face. You wished he hadn’t, you didn’t want to watch him cry. “Please don’t be upset, I won't be able to go if you're mad at me.”
“Well I am upset Peter! Not that you got in, I’m so excited for you, but you didn’t tell me, and you leave tomorrow!” Your voice broke and you could stop the tears as they flooded your eyes and streamed down your face. How could this be happening? Everything was perfect and now this?
Peter pulled you into his arms, “Please don’t cry Ace,” he begged, which in turn only made you sob harder. “I’m so sorry, so sorry,” he murmured as he kissed the side of your head.
“But this isn’t forever. I’m going to come back and I’m going to find you,” he pulled away and held you by the shoulders, making sure you were looking at him, “You’re the only person I want Ace, you’re the love of my life. And I don’t want to hold you back from the amazing life you're going to start at Columbia, I can’t have you going to your dream school with one foot out the door,
“We’re going to grow and learn, and I might not be there for all of it, but we’re going to be together eventually because I want you. This is just goodbye for now.”
You closed your eyes and savored his words. You wanted nothing more than to believe every syllable.
“Promise?”
“Of course Ace.”
And maybe if you hadn’t been such a fool in love, maybe if you hadn’t been so desperate to hang on to anything that promised the two of you would find each other again, you would’ve known promises like that were rarely lived up to.
Tumblr media
hey, sorry but i can’t make it back for winter break. weather issues :(
Your heart fell.
You were so looking forward to this, seeing him again, spending time with him and May, for things to feel like they were, even if it were for a brief moment.
You took a deep breath and stared at the two presents on your nightstand. No point in them now. You had gotten the message earlier this morning, around when he was supposed to board, but your phone had been dead.
that really sucks pete, im so sorry
maybe next time <3
He didn’t respond, the only indication you had that he’d even seen it was the little read receipt at the bottom of your text, glaring at you mockingly. You remembered sometime last year when he’d confessed you were the only person he turned them on for.
“Wait why me?”
“You can’t seriously be asking that Ace.”
“Well…I am asking.”
“Because I love you, duh.”
He hadn’t turned them off. You wondered what that meant.
You knew you shouldn’t have gotten your hopes up, knew you shouldn’t have gotten so damn excited, but…god, you really thought things were going to change.
But he had still wanted to see you, he’d still asked you to come over, and it wasn’t his fault his flight got delayed. Talking yourself up a little, you put on your shoes and coat. Grabbing your phone and the presents, you left your dorm. You were going back home, you could drop off the presents at May’s, stop by and see your parents, maybe call Peter if he was feeling up to it, let him know you really had wanted to see him and you were sorry you couldn’t.
It was cold outside and you could see your breath fogging up before you as you walked, but not of it even so much as fazed you. Hope was a beautiful thing, it could change lives, and it was so, so important. Hope was going to be what got you through this time without Peter, and it was going to be the thing that brought you back together.
Because you believed. You believed him back on graduation. You believed that that hadn’t been the end of your story, itcouldn’t have been. You believed when he said he’d come back for you, that you were the only person he wanted, because you felt the same. And…maybe right now he physically couldn’t but that didn’t mean he didn’t want to. You believed andyou hoped. With your whole heart you—
You stopped in your tracks. It felt like your breath was snatched from your lungs and was being held just above your head, so you couldn’t reach it no matter how hard you jumped. You couldn’t believe your eyes.
Because when you turned the corner, you saw Peter walking down the street beside his Aunt, laughing like he hadn’t justcompletely shattered your heart.
What?
You scurried backward, still unable to catch your breath but thankfully aware enough to make sure you got out of the way before either of them could spot you.
Leaning against the wall of the building behind you, you finally let out a breath, watching silently as it floated and then dissipated before you. He was here…
And he didn’t want to see you.
You tried to rationalize it as you looked around, it was clearly snowing, and it was getting thicker by the hour. So it wasn’t far-fetched that his flight really was canceled, plus he had sent you that message earlier this morning, so it was equally possible that he might’ve boarded after all, or found another flight altogether.
And maybe through all that commotion, he had forgotten to update you. Highly unlikely since you’d never known Peter to forget anything, especially when it came to you. But…you’d also never known Peter to lie, not without good reason at least, like about being Spider-Man, or that time Ned got him a birthday gift he didn’t really like, but said he loved it anyway, or any other time he’d lied for the sake of either keeping someone safe, either emotionally, physically, or both.
He didn’t tell you, and it hurt. But something deep inside you trusted him. Maybe it was naive, maybe it was wishful thinking and nothing more but you knew Peter. You’d know him his whole life and never once would you think he purposefully did something to hurt you, hurt your feelings, or anyone’s actually.
Looking down at the wrapped-up present you held, your heart tugged a little. You’d gotten him a Lego set, it was a Map of the Constellations Lego set and it was customizable, so you’d made sure it had all of the ones he’s taught you about. The ones you’d stayed staring at for hours on that hill, talking about everything. It even came with customizable Lego people, which you’d made look like you and Peter (or as much like you as you could with Lego bits), and a little telescope.
You felt like a total idiot.
You could’ve gone anyway, could’ve walked right up those stairs, could’ve said you were there to visit your parents andPeter wasn’t the only thing waiting for you here. But while you may have been feeling idiotic, you weren’t a completeidiot. You knew when you were unwanted. Even if he had just forgotten, if he really wanted you there, he would’ve remembered. And he didn’t.
You were tired when you got back to your dorm. Dropping off the presents, (Peter’s going under the bed, you didn’t want to see it at all, and May’s going on your desk. You’d take it with you when you went to exchange gifts with your parents). It was empty and you were thankful that Lindsay wasn’t there. She was a sweet girl, very bubbly, and you could definitelysee the two of you being friends if you ever got to spend more time with her, but for tonight, you just wanted to be alone.
The end of your bed was against a window and you were grateful for it. Ever since things went south with Peter, you ended most nights sitting at the window. You didn’t know what it was, but you always found yourself looking up at the sky. Maybe it was the fact that anytime you needed him, he would be out your window in minutes, if not seconds. It could be that the sky always reminded you of him. But you figured the simplest answer was probably the right one. You missed him.
It didn’t matter which window, it didn’t matter where you were, sometimes in certain buildings you could barely see the sky. Most times, you couldn’t see any stars at all. Almost every time. But it didn’t matter. Without fail, every night youwould look out the window.
Maybe you’d see him swinging around, maybe you’d catch a glimpse of those stars you both had loved so much. You weren’t really sure what you were waiting to catch. You silently hoped the silence on both ends meant nothing and he still felt the same. You hoped he meant what he’d said to you all those months ago, that he really would come back and find you. Even more, you hoped that what had happened that night was a dumb mistake, or at the very least had a solid excuse to back it up. You knew teenage romances were almost always doomed, but isn’t that why you’d broken things off? So you both could grow, and earn perspective, learn more about yourselves, and when you met again, you’d share everything you’d learned. Every new experience that had ultimately led to the reunion of the two of you. You could handle this for now, the not being together, if it meant you could have him later. That all this waiting and hoping wasn’t for nothing. You had to hope that even though you were leading different lives, in different galaxies, you both clung to the same dreams, otherwise you’d already lost him.
You supposed that’s what you sought comfort in every night. You’d look up at the sky and know it was the same one that blanketed him, wherever he was. You shared the moon, the stars, and your hearts.
You were always a dreamer, a hoper. So without fail, every night, you’d turn on your lamp and sit by the window.

Could I ask for a super young soldier on the 141 team that lied about their age when they first joined the military and it gets found out by the 141 men 😋???
Hi! I’m so sorry it took me so long to respond to your request. I took a break for a week I was feeling unwell. I’m hopefully back now! Thank you so much for your patience. I did change it slightly to fit the reality of military laws. (Where I live) -E <3
Little lair
You stare at the registration paper in your hands. One section that made you stop in your tracks, a deadly stop that would make you reconsider your decision.
In big black bold words was displayed “Age”. The law on how old you need to be to join, it seem stupid to you. How only a certain people can join since their age is well to join.
“Bullshit..” You mumble looking at the paper. “I’m seventeen I can join well enough! I don’t have to be in my damn twenties to join.”
You set the paper back down on your table. Then sigh in annoyance as your roommate comes into the room.
“What has you all burned out?” They ask grabbing a glass cup from the cabinet. “Oh you finally realized you can’t join them?”
“Shut up..I can join them! If it wasn’t for that dumb law passed down a couple years ago.” You say crossing your arms, then look over at them. “Any possibility you know…”
“Oh no no no.” They say quickly setting the glass cup on the counter. “I am not making you a fake identification! You know how that went last time!”
“But.. I really want this!” You say standing up from your chair. “Please! I live for the military! I can follow my mother footste—“
“Leave your mom out of this! God bless her.” They responded quickly shaking their head. “Y/n, it’s dangerous.. you can get jailed if you turn in a fake identification..”
“Okay then let me play off as you!” You say grabbing their hand. “Please you’re able to apply! I can pass off as you.”
“Hell no! I don’t want that y/n just figure out something yourself.” They say shaking their head angrily. “Stop looking at me like that!”
“..Please! I’ll be out of your hair! Hell I’ll be away” you say holding their hand tightly. “Please, Ill do any—“
“Fine!” They yell moving their hand away. “You can pass as a twenty four person.”
“Thank you thank you!” You say happily hugging them. “Thank you!”
“Come on..let’s get you my information..” they sigh and looks at you. “..your such an idiot.”
“A soon to be in the military idiot!” You say with excitement.
“..So..” A man says looking a you. “You want to be a sniper?”
You nod your his words and seat still. Then close your eyes, your heart is racing. Could this even work? Don’t they have to do a background check? A million questions rushed in your mind. What if you couldn’t get in? What if..
“I’m afraid we can’t let you be a sniper.” The man says setting your paper down. “You don’t seem to.. appropriate for it.”
“Excuse me sir?” You say opening your eyes. “What.. I..”
“We can let you try other fields as you.. train under us.” He says setting his right hand on the paper. “Just for a while, your skills seem useful.”
You remain silent as you process your dream being crush. You can’t be sniper.. not like your mother. You stand up from your chair and someone else burst into the room. You and the man that was settling you in turn over to two men.
“Kyle! John!” The man in front of you yells making you sit back down. “I said no interruptions!”
“Sorry Captain, but Kyle stole my fucking food!” John yells shaking his head. “He has done this for the past week!”
“I did not! Pr—” Kyle says stopping mid sentence seeing you. “What’s a kid doing here?”
“Kid?” John says now looking at you. “The hell, Price why is there a kid here?”
“They’re twenty four.” Price says shaking his head. “Jesus.. you all are idiots.”
“I’ll excuse myself.” You say quickly getting up from the chair again. “I will.. think about what you said sir.”
Kyle shuts the door and John looks over at you. Then Price eyes tell you to sit down, which you do. The environment started to get tense as Kyle sat next to you and John lean against the desk. Price cough and grabbed your paper again.
“Soap? You think that they are really twenty?” Kyle says looking at you. “They don’t seem like it.”
Soap? You thought looking at the man leaning on the desk. Must be a code name, a name that seems foolish to your ears. Soap began to speak, it sounded like mumbling to you as someone else enters the room. Your whole body shivered as Price called the man over.
“Ghost, good you came to join us.” Price says as Ghost stands behind you. “Do they seem like they’re twenty four?”
Ghost looks at your back for a memory then walks over to Price. Getting a better view of you, he stands there crossing his arms. Your whole body went into panic as eyes met.
“..No.” Ghost repainted in a husky tired voice. “Not at all.”
“Listen, kid..we get that you want to join the army.” Soap says crossing his arms. “But lying about your age is bad.. especially in a situation like this.”
Your whole body freezes with their words. Price hands the paper back to you and smiles.
“Come back in a few years kid.” Price says looking at your shocked body. “Maybe then you can be a sniper.”
You give a nod and get up from your chair. You bump into Kyle and apologize. Then leave the room, closing the door behind you.
“She got guts..” Soap says looking at Price. “Think they will be back?”
“I’m sure they will be..they’re a little lier..” Price says with a small smirk forming on his lips. “Check other records, and make sure to keep her name on the watch out list.”
You sit once more in front of Price. Years passed, he can’t even recognize you until he reads your name. His eyes glisten seeing your name, then he looks up at you.
“If it isn’t.. the little lier of age..” Price says with a dry laugh. “You sure that you’re twenty two?”
“Positive..” You say with a small laugh. “Need an identification?”
“No no.. I think this time you’re telling the truth kid.” Price says looking at your application. “Look at that.. you change your mind on being a sniper.”
“Mhm..medical field interested me.” You say crossing your arms. “Or what.. I’m I not qualified for it?”
“Oh your more than qualified little lier.” He says with a smile. “I actually need one on my team..”
“Offer already?” You say with a laugh. “I don’t think you’re qualified for someone like me.”
Price smiles and stares at you. Your eyes meet, this time.. you’re not as scared like before. You’re more brave, strong and smarter. He expands his hand to you.
“Welcome to task force 141.” Price says with a smile. “Little lier.”

“It’s fine. I’m fine. Everything’s fine.” You whispered as you tried your best not to hyperventilate. Your body shook slightly as you sat on the bathroom floor. Tears stained your cheeks and your nerves kept spiking up again every few minutes.
The little blue and white test that you held in your hand was the source of it all. Or maybe it was the 2 red lines it showed. Or the baby that you were now aware was growing in your womb. Or the fact that this was all happening while Felix was away for a short time due to promotions.
You two had always wanted to have kids, but there was no guide you could read to feel ready enough to be pregnant, or be good parents.
It might have been the worst or best time to find out. You were so overwhelmed with everything, but despite that you felt so so happy.
You had just come home from the most stressful day at work, and had not seen Felix for almost a month. But the joy you felt underneath your nerves was just what you needed to feel a bit better.
The past month had been all sorts of overwhelming, but nothing compared to this moment. It felt surreal that your life was about to change forever.
Your phone started ringing and the beginning of “Cause I Like You” echoed through the bathroom.
You looked down at your phone, seeing the screen display his contact. Your eyes widened. You hurriedly grabbed the phone from off the floor and answered it, holding it up to your ear.
“Hey Love!” His voice sounded like music from the other side of the phone, a much needed comfort amidst your anxiety.
“Hi baby.” You breathed. "You're okay", your brain told you over and over again, and you started believing it now that you could hear his voice.
“Did you miss me?” He asked cutely. Thankfully, the phone didn’t pick up uneven breaths or slight sniffling from all the crying..
“Way too much.” You smiled, feeling a million times better in just 10 seconds, and all because of talking to him.
“Aww, baby… I’ll be back in 3 weeks… it’s not that long.” He said, and you could tell from his voice that he was trying to convince himself of the fact too.
“We can last 3 more weeks… I have a surprise for when you get back actually.”
“Really?” You could hear his voice perk up in excitement, before dropping slightly again, “But I told you not to get me anything.” The pout in his voice was very clear and you couldn’t help but giggle.
“This one was a bit unplanned.”
“Hm…” He hummed, “Can I have a hint?”
“Nope~ You’ll just have to wait, my love.”
“Fine.” He sighed. “I have to go… but I’ll call you tomorrow, okay?”
“Mhm~ Love you…” You sighed, missing him like hell.
“I love you too. Stay safe, okay? I’ll be back in your arms soon. Bye!!”
“Bye!”
“I love you~!” He sang as he hung up, making you smile again.
//
You looked down at the little gift box you held in your hands. It had the pregnancy test in it along with a baby onesie and baby bottle. There was no way he wouldn’t get the message from this. You just needed to give it to Felix once he walked through the door in 5 minutes. Easy, right?
The morning sickness had set in a couple days ago, but you tried to not mention it until Felix knew you were pregnant. He would be so worried about you if he knew you were throwing up and feeling sick without knowing the reason.
The doorbell chimed and you stood up immediately, setting the gift box down and going to the door. There he stood on the other side of it, the brightest smile on his face.
“I’m back~” He giggled.
He pulled you into his arms immediately, kissing your cheek and swaying from side to side. You sighed and hugged him tighter, the feeling of having him back in your arms was better than anything else.
“I missed you soooo much… I just wanted to be back with you all that time.” He pouted and you pressed a kiss right on the pout.
“Me too…”
Once he had gotten food and settled on the couch, you grabbed the gift box.
“Remember the surprise I told you about?”
He looked up from his muffin, eyes wide with excitement. You handed over the little box and sat back down beside him. He cracked his knuckles in anticipation, making you giggle.
“Just open it.” You urged.
He didn’t need to be told twice, as he lifted the lid off of the box, revealing the baby things. He picked up the test, and bottle. You noticed his hands start to shake slightly and the recognition dawn on his face immediately.
He turned to you, eyes teary, “You’re pregnant?”
You nodded softly, starting to tear up as well just from seeing him emotional. He pulled you close into a hug, struggling to stop the tears from flowing down his face.
“I love you.” You whispered into his ear, pressing a kiss to his cheek. He nodded, sniffling and wiping his eyes.
You laughed, “You’re such a baby. I didn’t expect you to get so emotional.”
“I’m gonna be a dad, how could I not get emotional?” He croaked, and broke down again in tears.
“Cutie…” You whispered, not being able to help the smile that stayed prominent on your face. You loved him so much.
//
“Are you sure you’re okay?? Do you want water?” Felix continued to ask while you two set up the nursery together. He wanted to do it by himself and let you rest, but how could you not want to decorate as well?
“I’m fine, don’t worry about us.” You smiled, opening up another box filled with baby things.
Felix smiled at you, eyes filled with so much love for you and his daughter that you were carrying. You were almost 34 weeks and your baby bump was very visible. Felix thought it was the most precious thing in the world. He would talk to the bump all the time, and singing to it was one of his favourite things to do.
Finishing up the nursery was more fun than you expected. And when surrounded by adorable baby things, it was hard to fight back the smiles and excitement for when she finally arrived.
Once everything was finished, there was an added bookshelf with children’s stories on it, paintings on the wall, stuffed animals, pillows, a soft rocking chair, and a consistent theme of Teddy Bears. The walls and furniture all matched as well, everything going together in soft brown tones with a scattering of pinks and greens.
“Do you like your room?” Felix asked, kneeling down so he was in level with your stomach. “I think it looks cute… Just like you and your mom.” He pulled up his your oversized sweatshirt and kissed your tummy softly, making you smile.

“I’ll be back in 2 days, are you sure you’ll be okay with Quinn?” You couldn’t help but feel bad that you had been called on a business trip with little warning.
“It’ll be fine, love. We’ll have fun without mummy, right Quinn?” She paid no attention to his words, too immersed in playing with his fingers. “See, we’ll be fine.” Felix smiled.
“Okay. I’ll get going then.” You gave Quinn a kiss on the forehead and Felix a kiss on the lips before stepping out of the house as Felix waved goodbye.
He hummed, taking Quinn over to the kitchen and setting her down on the counter as he took out food from the fridge to make dinner. As long as Quinn had her stuffed bear, Waffle, she was content.
“Dada?” She smiled, looking at him with doe eyes, and his heart melted at the sight.
“Yes baby?” He hummed.
Incoherent babbling followed out of Quinn’s mouth, and Felix nodded along.
“Mhm… You’re so right.” He cooed, eyes full of love whenever Quinn tried to have a conversation with him. She had only learned a couple of words so far, but they could get the attention of Felix anytime.
Soon after Felix put food in the oven, his phone rang. He picked it up, smiling as he read the caller ID. Jisung had called.
“Hi!” [ . . . ] “Mhm! we’re doing well… Y/n’s just gone on a business trip so I have her allllll to myself.” He smiled widely, making Quinn giggle.
“You’re free? You should come over… Can’t keep up that ‘favourite uncle’ status if you don’t come over, now can you? Chan hyung might overtake you~” Felix teased, soon hanging up the phone and turned his full attention back to Quinn.
“The Quokka is coming~~” He sang, patting Quinn’s hair softly.
“Qui…kka?” Quinn tried, drawing Felix’s attention as he looked at her with visible heart-eyes.
“Quo…kka.” He sounded out.
“Quo…kka?”
“You got it!! My baby is so smart, aren’t you?” He praised, scrunching up his nose and giving her a nose kiss.
“Quokka!” She said excitedly, making Felix smile wider. She kept repeating it amongst giggles and kisses as the two waited for Han to come over.
A knock was soon heard, eliciting giggles from both of them. Felix went to answer it, but was swiftly ignored as soon as Jisung spotted Quinn standing in the middle of the living room with Waffle.
He came over to her, immediately picking her up in his arms, both of them smiling widely. She went to grab his cheeks, and Jisung giggled.
“She learned a new word just now.” Felix said, leaning on the counter smiling at the two of them. “Baby, do you want to tell uncle Han what you learned?”
“Quokka!” She exclaimed excitedly, making Jisung’s eyes go wide. He turned to Felix, in disbelief that he just heard the word Quokka come from Quinn’s mouth. Felix’s face held a giant grin and he laughed as he saw Jisung almost tear up.
“My lovely, adorable, baby!!” He let out, making her giggle as he sniffed back his proud tears.
“I think you might keep that favourite uncle status.” Felix said proudly, checking on the food in the oven.
“The members will get so jealous when I tell them!” Jisung said excitedly, making Felix laugh.
It was safe to say that Quinn was adored by everyone.

Sensual Synthetics
Tired of your family getting on at you for not having a partner, you drunkenly lament to Taehyung. Your friend suggests you purchase an escort android through his favourite service.
Prologue
Chapter one
Your new toy arrives from the factory
2 weeks later your new friend arrives fully assembled in a pod charging station.
You peer at him through the little glass window at the front.
The online images didn't do him justice. The mere visage of this man left you a little breathless. He just looks like a regular guy sleeping, a regular guy but much much more attractive. You'd expected him to look a little bit mechanic, cold, maybe hard. But he looked remarkably soft and warm, and real. Like blood was actually pumping through his veins instead of coolant. It made you really question the last couple of dates that Taehyung had brought to various events and dinners.
And you definitely didn’t think your family was going to believe you could pull a man like that out of nowhere.
Your fingers linger apprehensively over the latch that would release him, unsure you really want to go ahead with this. You itched to get a closer look, to inspect your perfect man, but if you opened the box you would never be able to return it… him…
As if on cue, your phone rings.
Your mother's image is plastered across your caller ID and you let out an exacerbated sigh before picking up.
"Good morning mu..."
"Have you heard?! Your cousin is getting married! That's the last one. Now it's just you. Why do you hate me?" She shrieks.
She has always had a tendency to overreact in these situations. You're sure it came from a good place but it came across a lot like nagging.
"I've had it with your career first nonsense, I don't want you to spend your whole life alone, and more importantly, I don't want to be the only one without grandchildren."
You take them phone away from your ear and sigh dramatically. That increasingly annoying reminder that your mum’s siblings all had brand new bouncing babies in their lives and your mum does not. Once you had suggested perhaps she could have another… it had not been a well-received quip…
"Mum, we've been over this. I'm not ready to settle down with a family."
"Don't give me that, you were two years old by the time I was your age."
"The world has changed Mum, plus lots of people are fine alone."
"Yeah well, you're not one of them. I've found you a man! Mrs Turner's boy is coming back to town and he always had a thing for you."
You can picture him now. Not ordinarily one to judge, it was difficult not to find Francis Turner to be the most repulsive guy on the planet. In high school he picked his nose and would wipe it on the backs of people's chairs, his scabs were always bleeding from where he picked them, and his hair was so long and unbrushed that the smell alone was enough to knock you out.
You glance back through the window at the sleeping visage of perfection. The plump lips and swooping fringe draw you in. Your fingers reach to play with the latch once more. You absently pick at the tape holding it shut.
"Mum if I get a date for the wedding will you drop this?"
"Absolutely, but where are you going to find a date, the wedding is in two weeks time. And he has to be a respectable man, Taehyung does not count! I don't trust that boy."
"I know Mum, you’ve made your feelings about Taehyung very clear. Besides he isn’t going to settle down either,” you point out “Why is she getting married so fast anyway?”
“Says it’s a whirlwind romance, can’t possibly wait another month your aunt says,”
“So we should expect a baby shower invite in seven months time,” you roll your eyes.
“Quite possibly, but that’s beside the point. The point is you are alone!”
“Yes mum, thank you for the reminder. Look I’ve got to go, I’ll see you at the wedding,”
“See you soon love, and remember, no Taehyung,”
“Yes mum, bye mum,”
You hang up the phone before she can get another word in, tossing the device onto the sofa behind you.
You rip off the parcel tape that's keeping the latch shut and pop open the pod.
Immediately the android's eyes flip open, bright blue circles whirring as he loads. They settle and the blinding light fades to a duller pulsing blue that still looks unnatural.
"Good day, my name is Jimin, I am your personal fantasy assistant. Please, how can I serve you today?"
His voice is so smooth, if it weren't for the introduction you would never suspect his origin.
He is flawless.
Now you can see his entire body you are even more sure that no one is going to believe he is with you willingly, he better be programmed as a damn good actor.
"Uh.... hi." You wave awkwardly at the man as he steps forward out of the box.
You shuffle back as he moves toward you. He reaches out a hand for you to take and waits patiently for your brain to catch up with his gesture. You shake his hand as quickly as you can, gasping at how real he feels to touch.
"Would you like an explanation of my abilities?" He asks, tilting his head as if taking you in.
"Yes please." You answer, glad to have time to think.
"Alright," he takes your arm and leads you to your sofa.
He plumps the pillow behind you and then perches on the edge of your coffee table so he can look at you properly while he talks.
"I am a J-1-min model android, once again you may call me Jimin. I was created by Build-a-bot LLC for the purpose of giving you pleasure. Pleasure looks different for all users. I am programmed to clean, cook, and be a general caretaker as well as to look after all sexual gratification needs you may have. I have an AI system built in and will learn as we get to know one another in order to serve you better. Is there anything specific you would like to know, or anything about me you would like to modify? You can change my name if you like?"
"Do you like your name?” You ask
“If you like my name, then I like my name,”
“Okay, I like your name… Can you change your eyes? The blue is very... bright."
"If that would make you happy I can, what colour would you like?"
He cycles his eyes through a selection of different colours that span the entire rainbow. You consider for a moment what might look the best with the other features you had given him.
"Do you have a favourite?" He asks as they land back on the original blue.
"I think brown? Dark brown maybe? What do you think?"
'I like whatever you like... Miss?"
"Sorry, Y/n, call me Y/N"
"Of course Y/N, my eyes will remain dark brown until you ask for me to change them. Now, what can I do for you today?"
You tasked him with cooking breakfast, there weren’t a lot of groceries in the house, but it gave you time to make a call to Taehyung, something you perhaps should’ve done before opening the box. You watch him long enough to make sure he won’t destroy your house and excuse yourself to the bedroom.
Naturally, Taehyung doesn’t pick up, it’s far too early for him to be awake. It’s likely he only went to sleep as the sun was rising. So you send him a brief message hoping he will get back to you when he can.
Jimin calls out from the kitchen to tell you that he has finished cooking and you trail back in to sit at the breakfast bar where a tall stack of pancakes waits for you. He watches you closely as you bring the fork to your lips.
"Is it satisfactory?" He asks as soon as you swallow.
"It's delicious... Are you going to watch me the entire time?"
"Not if you don't want me to... what would you like me to do instead."
“I hadn’t really thought about it,” You shrug.
“Can I assume I am your first android?” He asks although it seems more like he is making an observation than actually asking.
“You are, yes. And honestly, I’m not sure I really meant to order you, I was drunk at the time,” You admit.
“Does my presence make you uncomfortable?”
He looks sad when he asks, disappointed. You find yourself with the urge to reach out and comfort him. Your hand goes up to his cheek of its own accord. You’re again shocked to find he is warm and soft, not sure what you had really been expecting, maybe something more metallic. He feels like any other person you have ever met.
“You don’t make me uncomfortable, just… unsure,”
He nods curtly and turns to do the dishes he had left in the sink, gathering up your plate as soon as you are finished. He searches through your cupboards putting things away in their places and learning the layout. When he comes across your cleaning supplies, he gathers those on to the counter and takes stock of what you have. He then reaches into the far depths of the cupboard under your sink and produces a hot pink apron your mother had bought that you had long forgotten about.
He dons the garment, tying a pretty little bow in the back and pulls on some brand-new rubber gloves. You stifle a giggle as he turns back to address you, looking thoroughly ridiculous in his business casual outfit and frilly apron.
“It is suggested in my standard programming that I should clean when not given instruction, is that okay?”
“Be my guest,” you gesture.
“Fantastic, I will clean out here and the bathroom first,”
He wastes no time dusting through your living room, you decide to leave him to it and hide in your bedroom. Your phone remains undisturbed on your bed, Taehyung still not having awoken.
You stand awkwardly in your room, unsure of what might be the best thing to do while you wait for him to finish. Ideally, you would’ve spent the entire morning lounging around telling yourself you really needed to get some work done, eventually pulling yourself to your desk by mid-afternoon. Now it felt like you should get some work done too, you didn’t want your android to think you were lazy after all.
You slip your headphones on and open up your writing app and your emails. Dismayed, you find a new selection of rewrites from your editor awaiting you, it seems your latest article was far from satisfactory.
It takes you an hour to get through each little red underline, changing words and rephrasing paragraphs. As soon as you’ve hit send on the email back to your employer, you dip your head down onto your desk shutting your eyes for a moment. Your headphones slide down and land on the table with a soft thump. You reach to put them back on but you can hear something melodic coming from the living room.
Pressing your ear to the door, you listen carefully. It’s Jimin, humming to himself. His voice is rather pretty and you find yourself leaning against the door trying to hear him better. Just as you become flush to the wood, the door swings open and you tumble to the floor.
“I’m sorry, i should’ve knocked,” Jimin says.
The robot stoops down and gathers you in to his arms as if you weigh less than nothing. Instinctually you wrap your hands around his neck to keep yourself stable, although it doesn’t seem like you need to. He carries back into your room and deposits you gently onto the bed.
“Did you get hurt?” He asks, eyes scanning your body.
“No… just my pride,” You answer, sitting yourself up.
He looks confused by the statement but you just shake your head and smile lightly to reassure him. He nods and walks out of the room without another word.  You stay where he put you slightly bewildered by his abrupt exit, but he is back before you can think about it for too long.
“Here is some water, it should help,” he states.
Instead of passing you the glass, he holds it to your lips and supports your neck with his other hand encouraging you to let him help you drink. He doesn’t really give you the opportunity to refuse so you let him feed you half of the glass until he seems satisfied.
Jimin finally places the glass on the bedside table and gently pushes you forward, slotting himself in behind you on the bed. He places his legs on either side of you and encourages you to lean back and use him as a pillow.
“Are you comfortable?” He asks.
“I was,” You gulp
You can feel every synthetic muscle in his torso pressed up against your back. With his height so similar to your own it feels like you slot in perfectly, you’d be lying if you told him you were uncomfortable physically, but emotionally? This brought up far more issues than it actually solved.
“I’m sorry, my programming suggested you might find this to be comforting. Would you prefer a pillow?”
“No, this is… this is okay,”
He hums as if he were pleased and his hands land on your shoulders, fingers pressing expertly into the soft tissue. A moan tumbles from your lips before you can catch it and he hums contentedly once more.

Wake Up
Pairing : Bakugou x Reader
It's the second part of this (just so you get the context)
Next Part
Tumblr media
Your eyes suddenly opened. Everything was white. Your last memory came back violently from the back of your head.
Civilians in danger.
Where were they ? Where were you ? Where was he ?
"Everything's fine. Stop moving."
You immediately recognize his voice. You opened your mouth to call his name but Hawks put a finger to your lips.
"Not now," he said. "You should rest a little more."
You had so many questions, but it still felt reassuring to see a familiar face. You closed your eyes. You were gone again. Gone, but not dead. The way that thought felt reassuring to you was rather... uncanny.
"You missed her."
You were still hearing Hawks' voice, though so faintly you thought you were dreaming.
"She was awake ?"
Bakugou. Was he there too or were you dreaming ? You hoped he was fine, and wished he was really there.
You opened your eyes again. Hawks was gone. Bakugou was sitting on a chair, sleeping. You looked around for a while. It was nighttime. You didn't remember what time it was when you had first woken up. If he was still allowed to be here when visiting hours were over, he must have had yelled a lot. You looked at your limbs. Your body seemed to have recovered... well... Almost too well. For how long had you been asleep exactly ?
"You're awake."
You turned toward the voice. He had enormous eye bags and looked like he was the one who needed to be in a hospital bed. You opened your mouth to speak but Bakugou stopped you.
"You're supposed to rest your voice."
You sighed.
"I'll call a nurse," he announced.
He stood up and left the room. He didn't look hurt. But again, maybe he wasn't hurt anymore. A nurse came into the room a few minutes after.
"A doctor will come and check up on you," you heard her say. "You're recovering well, if you keep going like this, you'll be out in a couple of weeks."
You looked at her with begging eyes. It wasn't that your physical state wasn't important but...
"Oh, you must be wondering about the young man. He went to get a coffee, but between you and me, I think he just wants to give your privacy while you talk to your doctor."
She giggled and murmured something you didn't catch under her breath.
"If you want my advice," she said as she was leaving the room. "Send that man home. I don't think he ever got out of here enough to get a good night sleep."
She winked and disappeared. Shortly after, a doctor came into the room. She told you everything you needed to know. You had been asleep for a week, your body had mostly recovered but you would need a little bit of time to get back to work. You weren't allowed to speak for at least a few more days. But more importantly :
"Your mission was successful. Nobody was hurt, including the hero you were with."
So he hadn't been hurt at all. You were relieved. You closed your eyes. You were still a little bit tired. When you opened your eyes again, the sun was slowly rising.
“Good morning.”
Hawks was here again. Even though the two of you knew each other quite well, you didn’t expect him to come and visit you that much.
“I just came back from my night shift. I’ll be going soon.”
You couldn’t talk. You wanted to ask him some questions. It had been a while since the two of you talked to each other.
“I’ve been well,” he said as if he was reading your mind. “He hasn't.”
He pointed his finger at Bakugou, who was sleeping on a chair. He looked awful, tired, stressed out.
“He’s been there since you got here.”
He wasn’t the first to tell you that.
“At least, he’s sleeping now. He stared at you for a whole day, you know ?”
You couldn’t imagine it. It felt strange to know you had people around you if you were hurt. That people would show up.
“Bakugou,” you said.
Your voice was hoarse and weak and it hurt to speak. You could see Hawks had a disapproving look on his face. You understood why you shouldn’t speak yet. It hurt a lot. But still, you could see him suddenly wake up right after you called him. He stood up.
“Are you ok ?”
You shook your head.
“What is it ? Are you thirsty ?”
He looked around, probably looking for water. It could have been funny and you could have teased him about his concern if he didn’t look so exhausted.
“Y/N wants you to go home.”
He looked at Hawks and then at you. You swore you never saw him looking that... hurt. Still, you nodded. You took a deep breath. You knew you should rest your voice but still you said :
“Go to sleep.”
You promised yourself it was the last time you would speak until you were cleared. Bakugou sighed. You gestured him to come closer. He complied without resistance. You took his hand. It was rough. You never really touched his hands in such a... relaxed setting. You couldn’t even say what you wanted to say. You just looked at him in the eyes as an attempt to convey all of your emotions. It failed, obviously, as Bakugou just looked away.
“It means thank you.”
You even forgot Hawks was there. But at least, he got you. You nodded.
“How do you even know ?”
“Isn’t that obvious ?” Hawks asked, as he exited the room.
He looked at you with a smile before leaving the room, waving goodbye at you.
Bakugou moved his hand away from yours and put it back in his pocket.
“I’ll get you water... and then I’ll go home.”
You sighed in relief, which seemed to irritate it a little.
“Do I look that bad ?”
You couldn’t say no, and the face you made seemed to tell him everything he needed to know. He stormed out. You couldn’t even explain what you meant to him. Not being able to speak was frustrating. He came back, holding a bottle of water.
“I’ll go now.”
You nodded. He looked at you for a while, unmoving. You nodded again. He looked like he wasn’t ready to leave.
“I’ll be back in a few hours.”
You punched your hospital bed furiously. It hurt a little, made no noise and probably looked very embarrassing. But still, Bakugou seemed to understand what you meant.
“Tomorrow. I will be back tomorrow.”
He got out of the room. He hated to leave you alone, but he understood that you also needed to rest. As he walked home, he suddenly felt the impact of these past events on his body. It ached all over and he needed to sleep. You even told him to go rest when you needed it the most. He didn't look that bad, didn't he ?
He looked at his reflection through the window of a shop. His eyes were swollen, red and his eye bags were dark and deep. He looked like he hadn't slept for a week. He hadn't slept much this week.
"Shit," he muttered, looking away.
He was terrifying. But again, it had been stressful. He had been forced by the hero commission to "take time for himself". Apparently, it was protocol when things like that happened, but he didn't expect it to last that long. However, seeing himself now, he clearly wasn't in the best condition. He decided he would rest properly before going back to you. Still, he was sulking on his way home.
He had no idea you knew Hawks, pretty well it seemed. The way he knew what you thought and wanted without you having to say it was making him angry. It just reminded him that despite how you acted, the two of you weren't that close. It's not like you didn't try. But maybe you had just stopped trying along the way.
He didn't like that. You used to beg him to let you in his life and you weren't doing that anymore. He hated that. He hated that he missed his chance but most of all, he hated that he almost lose all his chances at getting to know you better. You almost died. He had almost lost you.
He had so many opportunies now. His promise to cook for you had yet to be fulfilled. He didn't really care before, he never thought he might never be able to do it. But he would. Starting tomorrow, he would be by your side, as more than just a hero partner.
"But first", he mumbled. "First, let me go to sleep."
