Can Fright Knight x Batman be a thing? Is it already a thing? I just saw this post where Frighty is acting as Danny's dad and I just want something with Fredric Knight meeting Bruce like..
Bruce is happy Daimian is making friends. This new kid, Daniel "call me Danny" Knight, seems nice. Kid might be a meta or something, with the way his eyes reflect like a cats and how he seems to always be cold, but he doesn't seem to be a bad kid and his background seemed to check out.
Yesterday Damian had invited Danny over for a sleepover and Bruce was stoked. Dami is having a friend over! A civilian friend! This is so normal and great! Danny had said his father would be picking him up the next day and would show up on his motorcycle (which was apparently named Nightmare?)
Bruce is in the sitting room close to the entrance when Alfred goes to buzz the gate for Danny's father. After a few minutes, he can hear Alfred walking the man in and explaining that "young Master Damian will be down with young Daniel in a few minutes. Till then, maybe you'd like to speak with Master Bruce?"
Bruce almost falls out of his seat when this almost 7 foot tall hunk of a man walks in, with his long raven black hair with a streak of gray down the center, all pulled back into a low ponytail. His bright green eyes have that same, almost glowing, shine that Danny's have and he's got a neat bit of stubble on his sharp jaw. He holds himself tall and seems to scan the room before setting his gaze on Bruce, who is using all his will to not ogle at this gorgeous man in front of him.
He stands to greet him and, oh God, he may actually be 7ft. "You must be Danny's dad, right?" He offers his hand to shake, "Bruce Wayne. I'm happy to see my son making friends with such a nice kid."
The behemoth of a man stares at his hand for just a moment to long before he shakes it and introduces himself, "Fredric Knight. I'm also glad my son is making friends." He says with the hint of a smile, "He's been a bit reclusive since we came here and I don't believe that's been healthy for him."
The two fathers talk for a bit, Bruce doing his best to be Batman ever now and then to make sure this guy isn't a potential threat. After some time, Danny and Damien walk into the room with Danny's bags, "Hey Dad, hi Mr. Bruce. Sorry that took so long," he says as he walks over to Fred (Bruce was told he could call him that) and half hugs the man, "Dami has a snake and he let me feed her!" Fred looks down at his son and pats his head, "That sounds interesting, little prince. Was it a frightful creature?"
As father and son speak, Bruce notes how fond Fred seems of Danny. The 'little prince' name seemed cute and pretty fitting with the last name. He also notes how Fred seemed to relax just a bit the moment Danny walked into the room (the same way he would after his children returned from patrol safe and unharmed), huh.
They say their goodbyes and the father-son duo are escorted out. Bruce and Damien watch as they ride down the driveway, Danny doing his best to wave at them from between his father's arms.
"We should invite the both of them over for dinner." Bruce says with a hand on his son's shoulder, "Fred seems like an interesting character, don't you think?"
"Father,"
"Yes Damian?"
"Please do not seduce my friends father."

Danny and Danielle definitely love to mess around with people guessing their relationship.
~~~
Duke: Danny, who is that girl with you?
Danny: Oh, she's my cousin. Long story. Anyway...
~~~
~Gala in honor of a new victory of the Young Titans.~
Batman hands the adoption papers to Phantom.
Danny: Look, man, I already have parents and I'm a self-sufficient ghost with a job and...I'm really not a fan of creepy billionaires with a lair under the estate.
~Danielle literally appears out of thin air~
Elle: Hey, dad. I don't want to interrupt, but father is dead ahead, coming right at us.
Danny: What, is that crazy fruit loop here too? Call Clockwork, tell him to lend me the thermos I left in his lair. I might as well get child support for both of you.
Batman looks stunned, then nods. The 1+2 action is very successful, Alfred will not be able to resist such cute faces.
~~~
~ Danny pointing at the phone screen~
Danny: Here. Jazz and Elle. My sisters. They are so cool.
Dick: But isn't the ghost girl your cousin? Or daughter, according to Bruce?
Danny:...Not to change the subject...Show me a picture of Jason in pixy boots!
~~~
Danny: This is Elle, my no-love-but-hate product with my nemesis, and this is Dan, my youngest. Who knew that when you play with timelines, you have to use protection!
Flash: Yeah, rookie mistake.
~~~
~Dining room, Wayne Manor~
Dan: I'm not going to play along with your crazy ideas! It's humiliating!
Alfred: Master Dan, your attitude towards your father upsets me immensely. Kindly sit down and have a cup of tea with your family.
Dan:...I still don't understand how Jazz and Pennyworth make me do what they want.
Oracle: No one dares to resist Alfred and upset older sister. These are the laws of the universe. Would you like another cup of milk oolong?
Dan: *sighs*
~~~
Nightwing: So you and King Phantom and Chronos...
Vlad: No! Disgusting! We're just raising kids together. I have them every Thursday and I curse the day I thought I needed an heir. Your father has a whole bunch of them...I thought I could keep one under control, but now my house is like a battlefield and I'm losing. What is this, gum on the chair?!
~~~
Danny: I’m so tired of this job.
Dan: You know what, I used to want to kill you and your whole family for revenge, but now...you must suffer. Have fun with the paperwork. Now the whole Ghost Zone thinks you’re my father, so I don’t want to inherit that stupid ring and crown if I crush your core. Elle and I are gonna go to Starbucks, and then I’m gonna teach her to terrify Vlad. Good luck trying to stop me.
Danny: ...I hate this family...
~~~
Danny and Elle are just having fun. :D
Dan and Vlad:Why do I have to participate?
Clockwork: Everything is going as it should be. Nice.

"give me a fandom and a prompt and i'll give you at least five sentences"
Ok then.
Jazz, Danny and Bruce are in the same age range, and Bruce has been harboring a massive crush on 7'foot tall Jazz since just after he began his training journey.
His kids know about and are mercyless. Danny thinks he's a bit of a fruit loop and 100% knows Bruce has a crush on his sister.
Into the future his coworkers find out that batman has been quietly pining after the Ghost Kings sister for years.
Chaos.
love that this reads as a challenge. Ok then. Write it. i will, let's goooo!
(sorry i kinda took it so that Jazz, Danny, and Bruce were all old friends but in that horrible adult way where you can only hang out with each other once in a blue moon when your work schedules miraculously align)
——
"Respectfully, Batman, you can take your "it's not necessary" and you can shove it up your arse. There's a demon the size of a skyscraper heading towards Metropolis and we need reinforcements."
"Superman can—"
"Superman can't. You do remember the part of the report I made telling you this, right? Or did your stubborn little bat brain just shut down when I mentioned magic?"
"Actually," Nightwing interrupts from the side, a shit-eating grin on his face, "I think his brain shut down when you mentioned the Ghost King."
"Nightwing." Batman growls in warning, his jaw clenching so hard Constantine can swear he hears the bones creaking.
Nightwing just snickers, and turns away to press a finger to his ear, no doubt letting the rest of the bat brood in on what's happening here... Whatever that is. All Constantine knows is that Batman is standing between him and fixing this mess for no God-forsaken reason.
Luckily, some of the more reasonable members of the League step in to try and talk some sense into Batman. It gives him some time to calm down.
"Batman. We need him. I know you dislike working with unknowns, but he's our best shot."
It actually looks like Wonder Woman might be getting through to him, Batman even opens his mouth to actually explain some things—a huge step forward for this incredibly emotionally constipated man.
Instead, Nightwing snorts and beats him to it. "Unknowns? More like—"
"Nightwing, please."
"Oh, for Pete's sake, get your head out of your arse and let me do this. The Ghost King is our only hope. I'm summoning him, no matter what you say."
For a long second, Constantine thinks that he'll refuse and he might have to resort to more violent methods of persuasion—which, honestly, Constantine has fantasised about many times during the more boring JL meetings—but eventually, Batman relents and steps out of the way.
"Fine. Nightwing, go check in with Red Robin."
Nightwing has the kind of devious smile that makes John glad he doesn't have kids.
"Oh, don't worry about it, B. Red Robin's coming here. So's Red Hood, I don't need to go anywhere."
"Nightwing—"
"Sh, it's starting." So saying, Nightwing then very obviously ignores Batman's protests with a poker face that even Constantine envies. What he wouldn't give to be able to shut the bat out like that.
The summoning goes quickly, thankfully. The lights flicker, the temperature drops, and the chalk circle erupts in green flames. Standard summoning practices, sure. Even the impromptu appearance of Red Hood and Red Robin—"Did we miss him?", "No, not yet! I got 2:37, what about you guys?"—doesn't throw him off.
It does pique his interest, though. Just what the hell is going on with them? Constantine's weighing up the pros and cons of asking them once all of this is over when the ground splits open and the clawed hand of the Ghost King begins to pull himself out of the ground.
John's a seasoned summoner. It's practically his job, he's done it countless times.
The icey fear that grips his heart, that freezes his breath in his chest, is new.
Pure, unadulterated power floods the area and he feels small, so, so small, like a child playing with things he doesn't understand. When he finally tears his eyes away from the portal, he catches a glimpse of the other magic users in the room, the same horror he feels clear in their faces. Even Captain Marvel stares slackjawed.
The pressure rises, death magic screaming in his ears, almost forcing him to his knees, and suddenly he's not so sure this is a good idea.
Too late to back out now, though.
Sickly green light pours from the crack in the ground, growing brighter and brighter as the giant figure rises, until Constantine has to close his eyes and look away. The last thing he sees are eyes, teeth, horns, a crown so bright that it burns an afterimage into his retinas.
When the light dies down and he opens his eyes again, a humanoid man floats in the centre of the circle. The ground is whole, nothing is burning, the man doesn't even have a crown. Instead, other than the wispy white hair, slightly green skin, and the—you know—floating, the Ghost King appears pretty normal. Huh.
Constantine blinks, rubbing his bleary eyes, and checks around to make sure everyone's okay. Most of the League are doing the same as him, taking fortifying breaths and trying to appear as if they've not just been completely blinded.
Most of them, that is, aside from the Gotham vigilantes.
Batman himself stands upright, arms crossed, looking completely unbothered by the whole thing and John's got to admit, he wishes he could do that, too. That was... a hell of a show.
The others, however, are waving frantically with huge smiles on their faces.
What?
There's a brief, taut silence, as everyone else tries to catch their breath.
As much as he would rather take a bit of a breather, John should probably start making introductions. Unfortunately, he only gets as far as opening his mouth before the Ghost King beats him to it.
"Oh, Ancients, hey guys! It's been forever, how are you? Look at you all, so grown up, wow—Nightwing, buddy, do a flip!"
It doesn't take much to get Nightwing going, and he certainly doesn't leave it at one flip. The whole of the Justice League and Justice League Dark watch with open mouths as Nightwing performs for the Ghost King.
What, and John can't stress this enough, the fuck?
As soon as Nightwing rights himself, Red Hood swats him across the back of the head and calls him a show off.
The Ghost King just laughs as he claps. "There's my little monkey, look at you go! And I'm loving that leather jacket, Hood, is that new? Looks good on you, really your colour. Brings out the red in your helmet."
"Thanks, Uncle D. At least someone around here appreciates fashion."
"Are you kidding me, you know I breathe fashion, need I remind—"
"Need I remind you of the Discowing incident?"
"That was era-appropriate and you know it! Uncle D, tell him it was era-appropriate!"
"It was era-appropriate, but so are crocs and it doesn't make them fashionable." The Ghost King—and holy shit, is this actually the Ghost King? Or did Constantine just accidentally summon a deceased family member, what the fuck is happening here?—turns to look at Red Robin with a smile, resolutely ignorning the argument he created. "How you doing, Double R? You get that tablet Tucker made for you?"
"Yes, thank you! It's so cool, how did he—"
"How's Tucker doing?" Batman interrupts, his hands now hidden underneath his cape.
As soon as the question leaves his lips, everyone groans. Red Robin makes a show of lifting up his wrist and staring at it intently.
"Incredible," Red Hood mutters with a shake of his head.
Even the Ghost King seems put out, rolling his eyes and answering in a flat tone as if he knows Batman isn't interested in what he has to say.
Not for the first time, Constantine feels like he's missing something.
"Tucker's doing very well, thank you for asking."
What follows is the most awkward silence Constantine has ever had the pleasure to be a part of.
All three of the Gotham vigilantes, including the Ghost King, are staring at Batman, waiting for something. Batman's cloak shifts as if he's moving his hands, fidgeting. If Constantine didn't know any better, he'd say he was nervous.
"Good. That's good, I'm glad to hear it."
Instead of saying anything else, the Ghost King just raises his eyebrows and continues to stare at Batman. Has he offended him in some way? Are they all going to die because of this?
After what seems like an agonising few minutes but could only really be a few seconds, Batman's shoulders dip and he takes a breath. "And Jazz?"
They all erupt into shouts, the Ghost King being the loudest. The only thing John can make out is when the Ghost King throws his hand in the air to point at Red Robin with a shout of "Time!"
"1:30.91, we got 1:30.91 on the clock, who's closest?"
"Did you even try to hold it in at all, old man? I'm so disappointed in you. People think you're cool. People think you're suave, I don't understand how they could be so wrong."
"Thank you for that, Hood."
"No, thank you, I won. Again. Because you're so predictable. Actually, I had one minute seventeen, so you held out longer than I thought you would."
Batman pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs loudly.
Constantine feels like doing the same thing.
Whatever. He's going to have to interrupt... whatever this is. There's still a rampaging demon heading their way that they've got to bargain for. He can untangle Batman's personal connection to the Ghost King later. Or he could leave it alone and forget everything about it.
Yeah, he'll do that one.
But before he can actually open his mouth to say anything, the Ghost King, again, beats him to it.
"So, B-Man, did you summon me here for a particular reason, or was it really just so you could ask about Jazz?"
There's a beat of silence before Batman mutters, "I asked about Tucker, too. We've not seen each other in so long, it's only polite."
"And I'm sure you meant it, you're the paragon of manners." The Ghost King nods slow and wide-eyed as if he doesn't believe him at all.
At this point, even Constantine doesn't believe him.
"It has been forever, though." The Ghost King muses, bringing his hand to his chin and folding his legs underneath him. "We should all get together sometime! If you get Alfie to make some of his cookies again, I'll get Clockwork to lend us a pocket dimension where we can spend as much time as we want, deal?"
"It's a deal."
No hesitation at all, incredible.
Hold on. Wait. John has to fight the urge to pinch himself, because this has to be a dream, right? Is Batman actually smiling? He didn't even know he could do that.
An itch niggles at the back of John's mind. He's starting to get an inkling of what's going on here and it's... weird, to say the least.
"Oooh," Nightwing singsongs, like a child in a playground tickled by the very idea of romance.
But then, who's he to judge? John's no stranger to strange bedfellows, that's for sure. Whoever this Jazz is, she must be something incredible—she'd have to be, if Batman can't even go two minutes without asking about her.
"Batman and Jasmine sitting in a tree," Nightwing continues, with both Red Hood and Red Robin joining in for the rest. "K—I—S—S—I—"
"Stop," Batman growls, completely drowned out by the Ghost King's laughter, but...
But.
It all suddenly clicks for John.
The Ghost King Phantom.
Her Royal Highness, Princess Jasmine Phantom.
Jazz.
"Holy shit, mate," John breathes, unable to stop himself as everyone looks his way. "You have the hots for the Princess of the Infinite Realms?"
The Justice League meeting room has never descended into chaos quicker.

Summary: Danny had been crushing on Y/n since they started high school, when he finally told her, he was over the moon when she agreed to a date.
Warnings: swearing, NSFW, adult themes, based of GREASE (1978), p n v, Oral female reeving,
Pairing: Danny Zuko x Fem! Reader
Y/n is no girl Danny's ever seen before, she's absolutely different compared to the rest of the girls that went to Randell High School. She didn't care about skirts or frilly dresses; she got her hands dirty while looking gorgeous at that. Danny was head over heels.
He was at lunch with Kenickie, Soony, Doody, and Putzie.
"Guys, she's just, ugh!" Danny said, trying to get them to understand where he was coming from. "She just effortlessly gorgeous," he finished.
"Man, really sounds like you're in love with this girl," Kenickie commented, smothering his cigarette against his boot.
"Hey, hey, maybe you should get her to, ya know..." Danny glared at Soony,
"Is that really all you think about?"
"You bet!" Kenickie shoved him away before turned back towards Danny,
"Look, here she comes!"
"Stupid skirts," Y/n groaned, Frenchie wasn't too far.
"Well, my suggestion is to wear shorts under your shirts so don't feel so exposed," she explained.
"You think that's a good idea?"
"Uh-huh, Rizzo did it all the time when were in the 7th grade, I did it too when I was younger. My daddy always told me to because boys were gross," she explained.
"Heh, they are," Y/n agreed. There was one boy that she could never think that about and that was Danny Zuko, he was something she couldn't explain.
"Hey, Y/n are you all right?" Frenchie asked, noticing Y/n dozing off into space.
"Uh, oh yeah, Frenchie, I'm fine."
"Are you sure? You were all up in the clouds," she explained. Y/n only nodded before glancing at the bleachers where Danny was staring at her. She gave him a wave and soft smile before continuing down the path with Frenchie.
Danny watched until they were out of view, "She's just...too good for me."
"Huh?" Kenickie, Doody, Soony, and Putzie exclaimed.
"What do you mean she's too good for ya?" Doody asked confused.
"Y/n is...Y/n and I'm...me, she's too good for me."
"That's why you make her worse!" Soony concluded.
"No," Kenickie shoved him slightly. "Danny, you and I have been friends for a long time. Y/n, she's the best for you, believe me!"
"I do, I really do but she'll never say yes to a date with me."
"Well, you never know until you ask her," Putzie pointed out. Danny glanced back in the direction where Y/n and Frenchie had left,
"You know what, you're right!" he smiled, "I got this!'
"Yeah, you do!" Kenickie encouraged as Danny headed down the bleachers. There is one spot where they would be and that's with the other Pinks. He came up to them,
"Hey, ladies," he said as nonchalantly as he could. Stuffing his hands in his pockets; Y/n glanced up a smiled,
"Hey, Danny, what's up?" Marty asked, Danny shrugged.
"Nothing much; hey, Y/n, can I talk to you?"
"Sure, what about?"
"Um...it's more of a just you and me conversation, if that's alright," she nodded and followed him away from the lunch tables. Danny spun around to face her,
"Is everything okay?"
"Yeah, yeah. I uh...wanted to ask if you would like to go and get a bite with me tonight?"
"Like a date?"
"If that's what you want then sure, why not?" Y/n paused for a moment; Danny felt like he was sweating buckets.
"Sure," she smiled. Danny almost let out a sigh of relief when Y/n put her hand up, "You have to meet my parents first, is that okay?" Danny glanced over and saw that no one was watching so he nodded,
"Yeah, that's okay. I pick you up at five?"
"See you," she began to walk away.
"See ya," he whispered under his breath. When she was out of ear shot, he screamed to the sky. Kenickie, Doody, Soony, and Putzie emerged from their hiding places. Kenickie slightly lifted Danny off his feet.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Danny stood outside Y/n's house; he knocked a few times before the door opened. A woman that looked a lot like Y/n but older opened the door, "You must be Danny, come in," she greeted. The woman let Danny in the house as he looked around, "Y/n, your date is here!"
"One moment!" Y/n called from upstairs, Danny turned and was now facing her father.
Alright, Danny don't mess this up.
"Hi, Mr. L/n, I'm Danny Zuko."
"I've heard about you, you're taking my daughter out, where?"
"Well, I was hoping that we could go to the diner in town and catch a movie at the drive-in." The older man nodded before speaking,
"Bring her home no later than midnight, understand?"
"Yes, sir."
"No funny business!"
"Yes, sir."
Y/n emerged from upstairs, "Dad, stop scaring him." Danny turned around and he felt his jaw drop, Y/n was wearing jeans with a long-sleeved blouse.
"Are you ready?" Danny asked, feeling the glares of her father behind his back.
"Uh-huh," she followed him out the house.
"Use protection!" her mother yelled, causing Y/n to blush in embarrassment.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Danny and Y/n were at the movies; the diner was a bit packed but nice since Danny and Y/n were up at the top and no one else was.
Danny had his arm wrapped around Y/n's shoulders; she leaned her head against his shoulder. "Danny," she whispered. "I had a lot of fun tonight," he smiled.
"I did too, baby," he turned towards her. He paused glancing down, her breast right at the best angle. Danny soon felt his jacket being tugged on as his lips were met with Y/n's. "Fuck, Y/n."
"Danny," she whispered.
Y/n tugged on Danny's shirt; he quickly tore it off his body throwing it in the back. He ran his hand down her chest to the rim of her shirt, pulling it over her head.
"Do you have a condom?"
"Uh-huh," his voice muffled against her mouth as he continued to pull at her clothes. "Baby, let me see," he groaned. He pulled away, her hair was disheveled; he glanced down pulling at her bra, managing to unclasp the back and pull it off her.
"Danny," she whispered. He glanced up, seeing the nervousness across her face.
"Don't worry, Baby, nothing is going to happen, promise," he kissed her cheek.
He tugged on his jeans while simultaneously kicking off his shoes. Danny lifted her hips, so he rubbed against her, she moaned, gripping his shoulders as her nails dug into them.
"Baby, you're driving me crazy," he moaned as he slipped the condom on and shoved himself into her.
"Danny!"
"Fuck, fuck," he hit her neck trying to silence himself which caused her to moan more. He thrusts began to pick up as Y/n wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him back into a harsh kiss. "you're so beautiful," he moaned. "Fuck, Y/n, I love you."
"I love you too, Danny," he looked up at her. He smirked leaning his head against her shoulder and continued to thrust into her. "I need you," she whispered.
"You can have me, have all of me."
"Y/n," he groaned as seed filled the condom. She whined as he pulled out, "Let me help." She nodded as he tossed the condom out the window and lifted Y/n's legs, so her vagina met his face. "You sure you want to do this?"
"Yes," she agreed.
"Okay, if it gets too much just say stop, okay?" she nodded. Danny shoved himself in, Y/n screamed in delight as his lips met her. His tongue did its magic, swirling and teasing her until she came undone,
"Danny I... I can't," she moaned. He continued faster and harder until she came against his face. He whipped it away with a napkin before pressing his lips against hers.
"Baby, you're one of a kind," he chuckled.
Y/n glanced at the clock on the dashboard, "Danny, I have to get home, it's getting late."
"Sure, baby, sure," he shoved his clothes back on and helped her back into hers before starting the car and heading out of the drive-in. "I had a really nice time tonight," he confessed.
"I did too," Y/n paused as Danny pulled into her driveway. " She glanced back at him before placing a kiss on his cheek, "Bye."
"Bye, see you."
"See you."
Y/n quickly rushed back into the house as Danny drove out of the driveway with a big smile on his face.

Love At First Sight
This is sort of just a cute little Jake imagine, it's really short, enjoy!!
Josh Pov
You’ve been sick for a few days so unfortunately you haven't been able to join the group for your normal festivities. Secretly you are more than enjoying the peace and quiet and today you sit on your couch while the rest of the boys are off somewhere practicing. Your phone lights up on the coffee table.
*Messege from Jake*
Jake
Josh, I met someone today.
She was our server today when we went out to lunch. Her name is y/n and we got to talking because she mentioned she liked music. Josh, she’s so perfect you don’t understand. She likes all the same stuff I like, cream, the who, led zeppelin, the beatles. There was just something about her though, she was so passionate and got super excited to talk about music with me, and her face lit up and her cheeks got all pink. And she was staring into my eyes when she talked to me. I felt my heart actually break just looking at how perfect she was. And she was so pretty, beautiful really, just really really beautiful. And her hair looked so soft and she was wearing really cool clothes. And she just seemed like I didn't know, just so sure of herself? if that makes sense like she was so confident and held herself so well. and she was so easy to talk to.
Oh boy. Another one of Jake’s crushes that won’t last longer than a month.

Infinite Trust
This is for Dannymay 2022 day 6 - Space.
Phantom has started teaming up with Young Justice but he still refuses to go with them to their meetings at the Satellite Watchtower in space.  It would mean revealing his obsession to them and he's not ready to make himself vulnerable like that.
The team on the other hand is convinced that Phantom is deathly afraid of space.
Also available on my AO3.
---
"Hey, Phantom! You coming with us?" Robin asked over his shoulder as the team started to move out; the threat having been neutralized.
Danny froze where he was hovering off to one side; having been fully intent to just go straight back home. "To the Watchtower?" The one in space.
"Yeah,” Robin said casually, “It's time, don't you think?"
"I—" Danny stopped as he tried to control his voice, dampening the instinctual excitement. This was a dangerous topic. “I don't—"
"You don't like space?" Miss Martian asked with a frown and talking to a real alien really wasn’t helping his case.
"Yeah, I do,” Danny immediately answered, voice slightly strangled, before he could stop himself. “I do. That's why I can't—" He cut himself off with a grunt of frustration before he could say too much. "I have to go."
And before they could say anything else, Danny dropped off the visible spectrum and zoomed off as fast as he could, covering his now glowing freckles with his hands for good measure.
  ——
Danny descended into his room, let his transformation pass over him, and stepped out into the apartment he shared with Sam and Tucker.
As soon as he stepped into the living room, Sam tilted her head back over the headrest of the couch to look at him. "You’re back. How did it go?"
Tucker looked up from his computer at the dinner table as Danny heaved a sigh and sat down on the couch next to Sam with a defeated, "Good. They wanted me to come with them to the Watchtower after the fight."
"The one in space?” Tucker asked incredulously, “And you turned them down??"
Sam placed the book she was holding down on the table before turning to him with a frown. "I'm sure they just want you to join in the debriefing."
"Yes, of course! But I can't—I can't let them see me like that."
He had started working together with the Young Justice some time ago and even though he had started to trust them more and more—they hadn’t even been digging into his background, and Tucker had checked—he still wasn’t comfortable with sharing his... weaknesses with them. He would be powerless to stop them if they decided to use it against him, or if they decided to go to their higher ups with the information. Batman was still one of the scariest people he had met—and he had stood up to the ghost king and won!
Sam frowned at him for a second before placing a light hand on his shoulder. “Danny… I get what you mean, as much as I can understand it, but… Don't you think they would understand?”
“They’ve told you their secrets, right?” Tucker added on, coming over to plop down on the couch next to them. “You’re part of the group! They won’t use something like that against you.”
And they were right; he knew most of the Young Justice’s secret identities by now (and the perk of being a ghost was that no one suspected him of having one too) and they hadn’t done anything so far to warrant his distrust. But it was hard after so many years of being hunted by everything from his parents, to the government, to old family friends and crushes.
“And besides,” Sam continued hesitantly, “It might… be good? To have some more people to… You know…” She trailed off as she looked away, but Danny understood. It would be good to have some more people who could take him out if something like Dan happened in this timeline.
Danny knew that it weighed heavily on them to be some of the very few people who even had a chance to stop him. Could he really deny them this? And besides; additional security would be good. Not to mention that if Danny was really honest with himself, he wanted to trust them; to tell them everything. He was just so tired of hiding.
Tucker brought him out of his thoughts with a light shove to his shoulder. “Come on space case, it’ll be good for you.”
“Maybe… Maybe I can start by telling them about me being Fenton?” Somehow, that didn’t feel as personal. And he knew that the Young Justice and their older counterparts were good at keeping identities secret. It would be a good test. He had enough connections by now, both in the human realm and the ghost zone that he would be fine if he needed to lay low in either dimension for a while. It was a risk he was willing to take, but sadly it wouldn’t only affect him. “Would that be okay with you guys?”
Tucker shrugged. "Do whatever you feel is right, man.”
Danny frowned as he clasped his hands tightly in front of him. “But they might be able to connect it back to you.” That wasn’t completely true; they almost certainly would.
But Tucker merely smiled. “Then maybe I could finally secure that internship at Wayne Enterprises.”
“Yeah, Danny,” Sam agreed easily, “We’ll be fine.”
“Well,” Danny leaned back on the sofa, “with any luck it won’t come up again.”
Sam laughed. “You just jinxed it stupid!”
  ——
“Hey! Phantom!” Robin, Dick, greeted as he waved Danny into the Bio-Ship. “Sorry about last time.”
Danny smiled and waved him off. “No worries. Sorry for ditching.”
He took his place in one of the seats while greeting the rest of the team that was present; Conner, Wally, and M’gann. He was almost starting to feel like a part of the team and found that he really, genuinely, liked them.
As the ship took off Danny leaned back and had almost managed to convince himself that the rest of the team had forgotten all about the conversation from last time when Conner leaned over towards him before asking bluntly, "Are you scared of space?"
Danny heaved a sigh, of course they hadn’t forgotten—and they had apparently talked about it without him—but before he could respond Wally also leaned over from the other side with a frown on his face, "But wouldn't you be fine there? You don't need to breathe, right?"
"Oh!” M’gann exclaimed from the front of the ship, “Are there ghosts in space?? I’ve never seen any!"
The fondness he felt for the people around him was quickly getting replaced with annoyance.
"I—I'm not scared of space," Danny cut in with raised hands. "And sure, maybe there are? I mean, I've been there. Before."  Oops. Maybe that was too much info. He tried not to be too open about all his powers—having a trump-card and all that.
Maybe Jazz was right; maybe he did have some trust issues.
 "You have??" Wally asked excitedly.
For once, Danny tried not to get swept up in Wally’s enthusiasm. He looked out one of the windows of the ship, careful to keep his eyes down and away from the tempting expanse of open sky above them. "Yeah…"
Dick frowned as he twisted around in his seat in front of Danny. “How?”
 “I flew there?”
“Yeah, sure, why not,” Dick rolled his eyes as he turned back around in his seat and muttered under his breath, low enough that Danny was sure he wasn’t meant to overhear it, "Man, you never cease to surprise."
"So…” Conner was still leaning in towards Danny, a bit too close for comfort. “You just don't like it?"
"How can you not like space??” M’gann cut in again, “It's so beautiful!"
Danny made a strangled sound. It was very beautiful, wasn’t it? With all the stars and planets and empty nothing that was as dark and calm as—
Danny shook his head and buried his head in his hands, hoping that the others were too busy to notice his freckles which he just knew were glowing and giving him away.
Wally jumped slightly in his seat, "Well, ghosts are from another dimension. I'm sure he doesn't think space is anything special."
Danny peaked through his fingers to see Conner frowning at him. "Isn't your dimension called the Infinite Realms? Doesn’t that mean that it’s a lot like outer space? Being infinite and all?"
"I… Haven't really thought about it like that." But it made some sort of sense, didn't it? It was possible to move freely in any direction as long as you had the means to do so, the emptiness was occasionally dotted with lairs and islands, just like planets, it was all just colored in a different palette. Not to mention it was, indeed, infinite. "I guess it kinda is?"
"Is that why you spend so much time on earth and not in your dimension?” M’gann asked, sounding inexplicably sad, “Because you don't like it?"
"I—" What was he supposed to say to that? Should he just come clean about the whole ‘being part human’ thing?
But before he could work himself into a panic, Dick cut in with a sharp, "Guys, stop harassing him!"
"I'm not harassing him!” Wally defended himself, but he did lean back in his seat. “I'm just curious."
Dick shook his head, but they could all see the small smile on his face. “Save it for later, all right? We need to focus on the mission. We’re soon there.”
“Yes boss,” Wally gave Dick a cheeky salute.
Danny cleared his throat and jumped on the opportunity to change the subject. “So, who is it?”
“Well, funnily enough, we think it might be a ghost. Hopefully you might recognize this one, Phantom. He’s apparently been screaming your name for the last thirty minutes.”
Ah, that explained why Dick had been so adamant that he joined the mission this time. “Oh, joy.”
  ——
Danny had not been counting on running into Skulker today when he got out of bed this morning and he wasn’t too happy about it, but apparently he had been away from his home town for a bit too long and the other ghost had decided to go looking for him. If you count going to the neighboring town, destroying a bunch of property and screaming for Phantom to stop hiding and come fight him as looking.
Normally, this wouldn’t have taken nearly as long as it had—and wouldn’t have resulted in nearly as much pain (he hadn’t really had a problem fighting Skulker since he graduated high school)—but then again; he hadn’t ever fought the other ghost while he was overshadowing Superboy before. Apparently, the one-of-a-kind clone had been too much of a temptation for Skulker to resist.
And of course, after confirming that the rest of the team couldn’t even touch the enemy, most of the fight had been left up to Phantom.
Danny winced as he pressed a hand to the wound in his side, holding the thermos with the other ghost inside tightly in the other as he sat on the ground and tried to get his breathing back under control.
He looked over and saw Dick and M’gann help Conner to his feet and let out a breath of relief when he saw that Superboy wasn’t too badly hurt. Danny had done his best to hold back, but it was hard when his opponent had been so strong.
Wally groaned and reached a hand down towards Danny. “Maaan. That sucked.”
Danny gave a grunt in agreement and as he smiled and grabbed the offered hand—allowing himself to be pulled upright and doing his best not to wince as the motion tugged at his wound—Danny had the sudden realization that he trusted these people with his life. Half-life. Whatever. In light of that realization, it seemed ridiculous not to tell them the truth.
“Oh, sorry, man!” Wally looked mortified. “I forgot about your wound. You okay?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’ll be fine. I’ll heal soon.”
“Alright…” Wally didn’t look convinced, “If you say so.”
They slowly walked over to Conner, who was holding his head in one hand, M’gann, and Dick who were both supporting him. Danny knew how disorienting it could feel to be overshadowed; especially the first time.
As they came to a stop next to them Dick nodded at the thermos, “What are we gonna do with him?”
“I’ll take care of it,” Danny hedged, not wanting to admit that he most likely would just end up letting Skulker out again in a few days.
Dick looked like he wanted to argue, to demand more answers, but then he… didn’t.
They all just trusted him and he almost wished they didn’t, since it really made him want to trust them too.
Conner straightened up and M’gann let him go with a frown before turning towards Danny. “Do you know why the ghost was after you?”
Dick nodded and added, “And why he was in this town specifically?”
Danny frowned down at the thermos. “Well, we are kinda close to Amity Park.”
“Okay? What’s in Amity?” Wally asked.
There really was no hiding it anymore. This would be as good a start as any, and his parents already knew about him and that he was working with the Justice League. He was positive that they wouldn’t mind him telling his teammates about them. Danny looked up from the thermos and med Dick’s gaze. “There’s a portal there.”
Dick blinked and it wasn’t often that Danny managed to render the other speechless. Wally cut in with a slightly panicked, “To the Ghost Zone?!”
 “…Yeah.”
And this seemed to be enough time for Dick to reboot his brain and when he spoke he was all serious business, “Why didn’t we know about this??”
“Well, they—the people who built the portal—they are a bit… weird.”
M’gann frowned at him, hands on her hips. “That’s a bit rude, isn’t it? If you’re using their portal?”
“No, they are. And I would know.”
“…Why?” Dick asked slowly, obviously trying to connect the dots.
Danny hesitated.  It was now or never. “Well, they are— They are my parents.”
"Your what?!" Wally was blinking wide eyes at him. "Do ghosts have parents?"
"Where did you think I came from?” Danny asked with a raised eyebrow and as much of a casual smile as he could muster.
“Another dimension?! I didn't know that ghosts had—" Wally cut himself off, the color draining from his face. "Oh."
"Yeah…" Danny trailed off awkwardly, rubbing his neck. "People tend to forget about the being dead part."
Wally looked down on the ground with a shameful expression on his face. "I'm so sorry."
 "It's fine, it's nothing new."
M’gann hesitantly asked, "But not that old, if your parents are still around?"
"Well, about that…" Danny cast a quick glance around, seeing that it was still abandoned after the fight, and let his transformation pass over him and slowly opened his eyes to take in the shocked faces of his teammates.
“You have a heartbeat,” Conner said faintly and Danny raised a hand to self-consciously rub at his sternum.
“Yeah… I mean, I am human right now.”
“You’re telling us that you’re alive?” Dick was asking with wide eyes.
 “Well…” Danny grimaced. “Kinda? Half?”
“Don’t do this to me, man!” Wally wined, “I have just managed to wrap my mind around the fact that ghosts exist and now you do this?!”
Danny smiled wryly, “Sorry I’m not dead?”
“That’s a new one,” Conner frowned, looking slightly troubled by the news and Danny decided to wait a while before breaking the news of Dani to him (even though he was fairly certain that they would get on like a house of fire).
Dick seemed to be processing for several quiet seconds before landing on a very formal, “Thank you for trusting us with this. We won’t tell the others if you don’t want us to.”
“You would keep it a secret?” Danny asked in surprise. “Even from Batman?”
Dick hesitated a split second before nodding. “Yeah. We know you’re trustworthy and this doesn’t need to change things.” Danny smiled as he felt gratitude well up inside him, Dick sent him a put-upon glare as he crossed his arms across his chest and continued, “I still think you should, though! The more info we have the better we can help you if you get hurt or something else happens.”
“I’ll think about it.” The thought of other people knowing about him, and caring about him, made him feel uncomfortable. “Let’s just go.”
M’gann opened her mouth and Danny cut her off with a smile and a, “Yes. You can ask your questions on the ship.”
She beamed back at him and Danny felt that maybe it would all be ok.
  ——
It had been several weeks already and the team hadn’t told anyone about him being Fenton. Danny had reluctantly admitted to Sam and Tucker that they probably were trustworthy and that there wasn’t really any more reason to keep his weaknesses from them; especially since him refusing to join the meetings was starting to take a toll on the team spirit.
So that was why, after the latest fight, Danny found himself agreeing to come up to the Watchtower with the rest of the Young Justice for a debriefing.
He stepped off the transporter pad before immediately taking a step backwards, away from the huge windows that were spanning the circular room and providing a great view of the space surrounding them on all sides. “O—Oh. I—I don’t—”
“Phantom?” Dick asked with concern clear in his voice as he turned back to watch the newest arrival to the base. Almost everyone else had already entered the conference room—it was only him, Phantom, and M’gann.
“I just—” Danny finally managed to close his eyes and couldn’t hold back a groan at the herculean effort it took to keep them that way. He almost violently showed his hands in front of his face and took another, stumbling, step backwards. “I can’t be here.”
This had been a mistake. He should have told them about his obsession before agreeing to come, he should have—
“What? But we just got here.” And Dick sounded so confused and worried.
“Phantom?” he heard M’gann ask as she approached the two of them. “What’s wrong? Are you hurt?”
Danny couldn’t take it anymore as he snapped his eyes open and lowered his hands, fully intending to reassure them but getting stuck halfway as his eyes sought out the great expanse of black behind them.
“Oh,” he heard Dick say. "Your freckles are constellations! How have I never seen that before?!"
Danny distantly had the wherewithal to feel embarrassed, but before he could find the focus to cover his cheeks with his hands again, he heard M’gann’s happy voice say, "That's so cool!"
"So you do like space!" And Dick almost sounded accusing as he said it.
Danny wished he could focus enough to reassure them that he was fine, or maybe to tell them to get out of his way so that he could see better. It had been such a long time since he had seen so many stars at once. He opened his mouth, closed it, using all the focus he could muster to stammer out, “I—I just—”
“I’m sorry,” someone said, but Danny was too far gone to be able to tell exactly who it was that said it. “Are you okay?”
But Danny couldn’t answer anymore, only shaking his head numbly with his eyes glued to the spectacular scene outside the windows.
Someone grabbed his arm and Danny reluctantly followed where it led him; it took all his energy not to fight back as whoever it was that was leading him took him away from the windows.
 “Is that better?”
 Danny blinked.
He was standing in a gray hallway together with Dick and M’gann, who were both looking at him with worried expressions. Danny let out a long breath when he could only see the walls surrounding them. No windows. His core ached slightly, but he ignored it. “Yeah. Yeah. Sorry about that.”
“…What happened?” Dick asked slowly, but considering his expression, and the fact that he still had his hand on Danny’s arm from when he led him here, Danny had a feeling that he already had a guess.
"You know how—" Danny trailed off. This was hard to talk about, especially when he was still blinking away the afterimages of stars from his eyelids, but he owed them this much. "You know how some ghosts have… themes? Or interests I guess?"
Dick nodded. "Like how Skulker likes to hunt and Ember to play music?" So he had done some research, then. Danny wasn’t surprised. M’gann was frowning with a slightly confused expression on her face, but she didn’t interrupt.
"Yeah, exactly. Well, there's kind of a reason for that… Have you guys heard about obsessions?"
 "Like compulsive behavior?" M’gann asked.
"I mean… kinda? But ghostly obsessions are a bit more… a core part of who they are I guess you could say. It's something they have to do to exist, essentially."
“Okay…?” Dick trailed off with a frown before his eyes widened in realization. “Aaah.”
 “Yeah…”
“What?” M’gann asked as she glanced between the two of them.
Thankfully, Dick stepped in and said it so that Danny didn’t have to. “It’s your obsession, isn’t it? Space?”
Danny nodded and it was like a huge weight lifted from his shoulders at the admission. It was still hard to talk about it so openly with someone who wasn’t Sam or Tucker, but he would try. “I don’t— I can’t control it. And I can’t really focus on anything else. It’s… ”
Dick nodded. “Yeah, I can see why you don’t tell people about that.”
M’gann looked thoughtful before adding, “It’s almost as if Superman would be drawn to kryptonite.”
That startled a laugh out of Danny. “I mean… Not really? It doesn’t really hurt me, or I mean, it can if I don’t fulfill it, but it’s just… Yeah…”
Dick’s eyes widened in worry as he asked, “Did it hurt you when I dragged you away from the windows?”
His core had calmed down again; the proximity to space was probably helping, so Danny shook his head. “No, you’re fine. Thanks for that, by the way. I don’t know if I’m ready for the whole League to see me like that.”
“It’s okay,” M’gann assured him with a smile, before sending Dick a questioning look and adding, “We can probably make sure we have the debriefings you’re a part of on earth if you want?”
Dick nodded and Danny smiled at both of them—grateful for their effort to accommodate him. “Thanks. Maybe for now that’s a good idea? I’ll try to get used to it a bit so I can come up here.”
Dick nodded, easily accepting this. “You know, we will never use this against you. You have my word.”
“Mine too!” M’gann added happily and earnestly.
“I—Well—Thanks.” Despite everything, he was not ready to tell them about Dan. He just had to trust that they would know how to stop him if it came to that.
“You know,” Dick continued, “I would have thought it was protecting people or something?”
 “What?” Danny frowned in confusion.
 “You obsession?”
“Well…” Danny rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment, “I kinda have two?”
Dick heaved a sigh, but he was smiling as he said, “Of course you do.”
  ——
Danny pressed his face against the glass, wide eyes eagerly taking in the stars outside.
Without really making a conscious decision he floated through the hull and ended up outside—in the middle of the stars and the quiet.
He smiled broadly as he slowly turned around and around with wide eyes, taking it all in. It had been far too long since he had been up here. He had almost forgotten how much he missed it.
"Should we call him back inside?" Wally asked as he laughed at the ghost floating out in the open space; shining brighter than any star.
Dick shook his head as he turned back to his paperwork. "Let him be for a while. He looks happy."

Daughter of Olympus (Leo Valdez xFem!Oc)
A/N: Yes it took 30 chapters but most times it takes BOOKS, only veterans know how much I'm spoiling you with Leara -Danny Words: 2,401 Series' Masterlist Previous Chapter / Next Chapter Listen to: 'this is what falling in love feels like' -by Marina Lin
Tumblr media
XXXI: In My Defense, I Was Left Unsupervised
After our fiasco with the bronze dragon, Percy gets a date with Annabeth, and Beck gets one with Silena, so they win in the end. Wonderful.
Since Lily's never going to ask Connor and Connor's never going to ask Lily, Travis and I make sure that they end up sitting together anyway. Travis shares his blanket with Katie and I'm sharing mine with... no one. But I'm content this way.
Lily and Connor look at us with panic without realizing that the other is doing the same. "Good job, Birdy!" Travis murmurs as he walks past me. We high-five.
A couple of minutes before the fireworks start, everyone is in their place looking happy. Except me. I had to give up my dragon, it doesn't seem fair. I could bring him back to normal, I just hope Beck keeps his promise.
"Hi," Michael sits down beside me, I move so he can fit better. "I heard you had a crazy adventure as soon I left you unsupervised."
"Yeah, yeah," I sigh. "I could've gotten someone hurt, I was foolish..."
"I want to know if you're okay," he frowns. "I'm not always a jerk, Ara."
"Sorry—it's just... if I don't go back for it, the myrmekes will take it. And you wanna know the worst part? Percy, Annabeth, Charles, and Silena are acting like it doesn't matter!"
Mike laughs. "They can't help it, bug. Love makes you stupid."
"Have you ever fallen in love?
I realize too late I don't want to hear his answer, but Mike responds to my question right away.
"Nah," he rubs the back of his neck and scrunches up his nose. "I'm always thinking about you and your training, leaves me no time for romance."
"What?" I yelp. "Are you saying it's my fault you're single?"
"No!" Mike laughs again, hugging me sideways. A green glow coats his skin. "Look, crushes are weird, but one day you'll understand. You know, it's odd that it hasn't happened yet—you're a weird Aphrodite... a good weird, though."
Our soul lights don't match, but I'm sure I like him, so I'm confused. Am I wrong for feeling this way about him? Maybe. I never cared much about romance until now. Love is one of the best things in the world, obviously, but falling in love? It makes you witless... And yet, I'm looking at Michael like he's the nicest sunset I've ever seen.
I get this feeling that just screams "To Hades with it!" and I give my friend a fleeting peck on the lips. Mike's face turns bright red and I look away, feeling like you could boil an egg over my cheeks.
After a long moment of silence, I gather enough courage and glance at Michael: he's looking at the fireworks with a dreamy smile on his face.
"Ara..." He speaks after a minute.
I answer quietly, trying not to flinch. "Yes?"
"Happy Birthday."
He plants a kiss on my temple and places one arm around my shoulders. I forget all the bad things happening around us. I'm blissfully happy, and fourteen years old.

Before she can celebrate Lily's birthday, Ara has to make sure everything's under control. She tells Jason to gather the Hephaestus kids so they can stabilize the engine, then look for Chiron so he can take away the crazy nymphs.
The girl is thinking of leaving when Jake lets her know Leo is awake. She blushes so much that Jake thinks she's coming down with some kind of fever, but she lies saying Hephaestus's blessing is draining her.
Ara's no coward... but she is a coward. She stays away from Leo, he's too tired to be looking for her anyway. Chiron and Argus arrive a few minutes later to take away the cage Leo built.
"Oh, them again," the centaur scowls. "Hello, Babette."
"We will destroy you! We will dance with you, feed you yummy appetizers, party with you until the wee hours, and rip you to pieces!"
"Uh-huh," Chiron turns to Ara and her friends. "Well done, you four. The last time these girls came looking for Dionysus, they caused quite a nuisance. You caught them before they could get out of hand. Dionysus will be pleased they've been captured."
"So they do annoy him?" Leo asks.
"Absolutely. Mr. D despises his fan club almost as much as he despises demigods."
"We are not a fan club! We are his followers, his chosen, his special ones!"
"Uh-huh."
"So... Dionysus wouldn't have minded if we had to destroy them?" Piper asks.
"Oh, no, he would mind! They're still his followers, even if he hates them. If you hurt them, Dionysus would be forced to drive you insane or kill you. Probably both. So well done. Same plan as last time?"
Argus nods and signals a camper to get closer with a forklift, so they can carry the cage away.
"What will you do with them?" Jason asks.
"We'll send them to a place where they feel at home. We'll load them on a bus to Atlantic City."
"Doesn't that place have enough problems?"
"Not to worry. The Maenads will get the partying out of their systems very quickly. They'll wear themselves out and fade away until next year. They always seem to show up around the holidays. Quite annoying."
Ara may be imagining things, but Leo seems to be getting closer every time she gets distracted. She turns around as Chiron and Argus walk away, barely reaching the entrance when a hand wraps around her wrist and stops her.
"You know," Leo says, "sometimes I hallucinate when I'm sleep-deprived, but I'm pretty sure you kissed me right before I fainted."
Ara scowls at the hand that's holding her in place. "Can we talk outside?"
"Only if you promise not to run away while I'm not looking."
"I promise."
Lily Saggio runs into them. Travis and Connor are right behind her.
"What the Tartarus happened?! You were supposed to just take a walk!"
"I took a walk," Ara replies calmly. "I also ran a bit."
Lily raises a brow. Leo moves his hand away from Ara's wrist fearing Lily will cut it off. "Are you really okay, Ara?"
"Yeah," she replies, trying to look as relaxed as possible.
"We can still celebrate, then?"
Ara glances at Leo, but she nods. "Right. Yes."
She joins her friends and waves at Leo, their eyes linger on each other before Ara turns and follows Lily back to camp. "So... talking in percentages," Lily continues once it's safe. "How much of your delay was Valdez's fault?"
Ara rolls her eyes. "I'd say maybe five percent. We would've finished in less than an hour if the nymphs hadn't shown up..."
"What were you doing?"
Ara knows Leo can't manage Lily's distrust, she's not the best at making people feel good after they've made a mistake under her watchful eye. "The nymphs stole the syncopators, we had to trap them to get them back," Ara lies. "Pollo was a great help. Where is he?"
"Nico took him away," Connor explains. "To feed him."
"And who told him he's allowed to take Pollo just like that?"
"Stop it, Ara," Lily scolds her. "He gave back your T-Rex."
Ara mumbles a couple of insults but she gives in. She considers telling Lily about the kiss, but she needs to clear things up with Leo first, this cannot be another Mike situation.
Tumblr media
Lily's birthdays are always fun. It's the one night they're allowed to stay up way after curfew. Ara's got no curfew nowadays, but she still goes to bed at the same time as the others... most days, anyway.
The whole time the campfire is taking place, she wishes she could just talk to Leo. Every time she looks at him, he's looking back. Once she's had enough of this stupid longing, she gives Lily one last hug and says goodnight to the rest of the group.
Ara has barely gotten to the porch when she hears someone approaching. The girl immediately starts glowing, and she feels the silly urge to fix her clothes and brush her hair. Leo climbs up the steps with a strange look in his eyes, almost like he's scared. Ara decides to wait for him to reach her and then guides him to the swing at the very end of the porch.
"I just noticed," Leo clears his throat. "You got a haircut."
Ara glows brighter. "Yeah, cut it to shoulder length so it's easier to handle."
"Makes you look taller," he sits down next to her. "So... call me crazy, but when someone rejects you—"
"I didn't reject you."
"Oh, my bad," Leo replies sarcastically. "That's obviously the key to our misunderstanding."
Ara sighs. "I should explain..."
"Por favor y gracias," he leans back on the swing.
"I got Hephaestus's blessing thanks to you," Ara has to be brave, her mothers would hate it if she threw away her chance to be happy. "I felt like kissing you, so I did it. It was wrong."
Leo's soul light goes out instantly. "What?"
"That's not how I wanted it to happen," Ara makes a face. "I always act on impulse. I hate it."
"What are you—"
"I like you, okay? And I..." Ara blushes. "Oh gods, should I be telling you this? You're confused and I don't want you to—"
"If I ask you out right now, will you say yes?" He interrupts her, his gaze eager and attentive.
"Leo, that's not the point. You don't understand—I... I don't..." she covers her face in mortification. "I don't like what love does to me."
He gently places a hand on her knee. "I know you've had a... rough life, to put it lightly. But I'm not going to hurt you..." He pauses. "That's what scares you, right?"
Ara shakes my head, still not looking up. "It's the other way around. Being excellent at what I've decided to do doesn't come naturally to me—I thought it would get easier with time, but the challenges keep growing... and this is just another thing I'll fail to do properly."
The Fates know that if there is someone on Earth who's done his best to stay away from people, that's Leo, but he can't do that with Ara. It's like a loose screw that he keeps turning, thinking it'll eventually slip out, but it's only tightening more in place.
"So what if you can't be perfect at it?" It annoys him that a person as loving as her can't get any comfort in life, he wants to make it better. "It doesn't mean you can't have it with someone who truly cares about you."
Ara looks up pouting. "You're being so serious it's scary."
"I can be serious when I want to," he smiles a little. "But I could try and make the truth sound funny so it doesn't scare you. I really want you to like me as much as I like you, Ara."
"I like you," she admits bashfully, looking at her feet. "I'm crazy about you... it's so uncomfortable."
"Really?" Leo's heart is pounding on his chest, he's making a huge effort not to set the swing on fire. "Was it my amazing personality?"
"And your eyes," Ara speaks quieter, eyes fixed on her shoes.
"What about my hair?"
"Could look better without all the grease," she teases him.
"Hey!" He pouts. "A good mechanic gets dirty, sorry if that makes me unattractive."
"I never said that," Ara chuckles and looks up at last. One of her hands reaches up and gently brushes his curls back. "Don't put words in my mouth, Valdez."
Leo leans into her palm beaming. Finally, he's on the receiving end of her loving touch.
Ara's gaze fills with worry after a second. "I really don't know what I'm doing most of the time, Leo. I'm not being humble."
"And what makes you think I've got a clue?" He raises a brow. "I just got here half a month ago... by comparison, you're pretty much the high-level expert."
"And yet it feels like you've always been around," she hums, cupping his cheek. "You won't take a no for an answer, right?"
Her voice has an encouraging tone, like she wants him to reject this idea... So he does. "Sorry, doll, I'm irritating like that." He shows her a crooked smile. "But if you say yes, I promise I'll wash up for our date."
"You gotta shower for all of our dates, not just the first," she replies. In Ara's eyes, they're like two little suns illuminating the porch.
"I'd be stupid if I didn't," Leo smirks. "Gotta keep my girl happy."
His girl, he says, like it's all settled. Maybe it is. Ara has zero practice, but Leo makes it easy. He gives her the biggest butterflies she's ever felt, everything is telling her to keep him, so why not? Maybe he's the person she's been looking for her whole life.
Perhaps the boy moves first, perhaps it's her, but their noses are touching now. "Leo..." she stops. "Leo!"
"Hmm?"
"You're on fire."
"Thanks, doll," Leo grins, still leaning forward.
Ara moves away. "You're scorching the swing."
"Dang it!" The boy gets up and kills the flames. "It's all the stress from today—gets harder to control..."
Ara stands up with her hands behind her back. "Yeah, that's the only reason."
It's getting late and the campers will leave the campfire soon, so their moment is over. "I'm sorry, I'll try not to set us on fire next time."
Ara nods and slowly makes her way to the house's front door. "But if you do... the blessing keeps me safe from accidental burns, so that's lucky, right?"
"Man, gotta love my dad," he pauses and scowls. "But not for real. I mean—"
Ara laughs. Leo's starting to love the sound of it. "I get it."
The boy stops on the porch's steps and looks back at her. "So... I'd love to take you on a date."
"Tomorrow after dinner. Don't be late and take a shower."
"I did that already," he tugs on his shirt. "This is barely two days old."
Ara holds back her laugh and wrinkles her nose. "You're disgusting. I'm taking it back, I don't—"
Leo runs down the old steps. "Too late! You can't cancel if I can't hear you!"
The girl watches him run away, giggling at his antics. Ara can feel her anxiety gather in the pit of her stomach, and that irksome voice at the back of her mind asks "Are you sure?" and "Remember Mike?" but she ignores it.
This is different, Leo's soul light matches hers. They're meant to be together, and that's all she needs to know.
Ara enters her room and finds her T-Rex tucked into bed with a pacifier tied to its claw. She gets under the covers, hugging the dino close to her chest, and listens to her own heartbeat thumping against the plushie.

March 5th
Third March 5th🎀🫶
Tumblr media
I dont really know what to put here for this one lmao just prepare yourself for the ending🤫 oh also there’s some smut so be warned👹👹
Third March 5th:
My phone vibrated in my pocket and my heart raced at the sound. I’d been sitting in my living room for hours, waiting and waiting for David to knock on my front door but the hours were passing and he wasn't anywhere in sight. I didnt recognise the number calling but then again, we’d deleted each other’s numbers. It was March 5th, it had to be him.
My heart sunk.
Please let him just be late. Please don't let him be calling me because he isnt coming today.
My thumb slid answer and I nervously brought the phone up to my ear, “Hello?”
I instantly recognised David’s sigh from the other side of the phone, “Hey.”
It wasnt the desperate, happy greeting I was hoping to hear. He didnt sound panicked that he was late, he sounded like he was just sitting on a bed somewhere without a care in the world.
“Where are you?” I uttered the dreaded question.
“New York,” the sadness in my exhale was audible, “I’m so sorry.”
The silence grew thick in the air between us and I tried to act normal, “Is everything okay?”
He didnt answer immediately and when he did his voice faltered, “I dont even know how to say this but...do you remember my roommate? Danny? He...uh..he was in a wreck two days ago.”
My hand instantly flew to my mouth, “Oh my god is he okay?”
More silence, “He um...no, he didnt make it.”
I was unable to respond to that sentence, I had no useful words at all. I didnt know how to console David over the phone and I didnt know Danny well enough to express sadness.
“I dont think I’m going to make it any time soon-”
“Stop its okay, I’m so sorry David,” he still cared about showing up even after one of his best friends had died. Sadness etched into my features as my grip on the phone shook.
“This is killing me,” his voice was barely a whisper, “Ill see you next year. I promise.”
“I’ll be fine David, please dont feel bad...I understand.”
Silence hung in the air between us until he sighed, “Goodbye.”
The line disconnected before I could reply and tears began to blur my vsision. I was crushed. I was an asshole because I wanted to convince myself I was crying over Danny but truthfully, I was crying for completely selfish reasons. Realising how pathetic I am, I began to cry even harder.
David slowly opened the door and stilled, blinking twice as if unsure I was really there.
“I wouldve called first,” I looked down nervously, “But I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
He opened his mouth to speak but I held up my hand to stop him, “I lied, I’m sorry. I’m not here to make sure youre okay because I know youre not okay. It was just the thought of not seeing you today and having to wait another year that gutted me and....”
He stepped forward and pressed his lips against mine, sad and yet sure. I sighed against the familiar press of his mouth and wrapped my arms around him. He kissed me as though he couldnt believe I was real, like he couldnt believe I’d bought a ticket just to see him for one day.
He continued to kiss me and pulled me into his apartment, one arm around my waist as though he was afraid I was going to vanish. He closed his bedroom door behind us and pulled me in for a long hug. I closed my eyes and kept my head pressed against his shoulder. One of his hands wrapped around the back of my head and the other secured at my back – I couldve stayed here all night if he wanted.
He kissed the top of my head then placed his hands on either side of my face, tilting it up to look at him, “I cant believe youre here.”
His eyes were red as though he’d been crying and I quietly asked, “How did it happen?”
“He was on his way back from work when his car slipped off the road,” his voice trembled slightly and I squeezed his hand, “Vi’s been in pieces as you can imagine. She’s pregnant.”
I couldnt help but gasp and he nodded, “I know its shit luck. They’re supposed to be celebrating their anniversary this weekend.”
“How far along is she?” I sat down on the bed and he lay down next to me.
“She’s due in November.”
The blonde girl from last year paused in the doorway, cocking her head to the side in confusion, “Do I know you?”
“We met briefly last year,” I blushed in embarrassment at the memory and the corner of David’s lip lifted.
“Well I’m Vi,” she shook my hand and looked back at David, “I’ll be expecting you to fill me in on all the details of this tomorrow.”
“You bet,” David replied and when she shut the door, he glanced at me with a glint in his eye, “Not a chance.”
I laughed quietly and David reached for the lamp at his bedside. There was a look in his eye that made my lips curl up slightly, and before I knew what was happening, David grabbed the hem of my shirt and pulled it up without hesitation. He threw it somewhere behind him and his eyes read every curve of my body, and he released a shaky breath.
His lips were moist and his tongue was rough and apologetic and my back arched against his touch. He pulled me flush against him but I pulled back in hesitancy.
“David....,” I looked up at him, “I’m worried you’re only doing this to distract yourself from what happened to Danny. I mean, I’ll go through with it but-”
He shook his head fiercely, “I’m not doing this as a distraction. I’m doing this because I want to do this with you, here in this bed. I’ve been thinking about it for nearly 364 days.”
His eyes darkened as he slid his body over me, caging me in with his arms. I could feel him hard against me and I nearly whimpered at the idea of being with him. I’d also been thinking about this moment a lot longer than I shouldve.
He brushed his thumb over my lips, “I want to be your only. Your first and last. I want you to promise I’ll be able to hear your voice tomorroe and every day that follows.”
I nodded in agreeance, “I promise.”
“I’m serious, I want your phone number and youre adres and everything before you leave tomorrow.”
“You can have it,” I grinned, “You can have everything.”
My fingers dragged up his jawline until I cupped his face, “What are you waiting for?”
“To wake up, I think,” he dragged in a raspy breath and kissed my neck, “I’m dreaming right?”
I shook my head just as his hips moved against me. A moan escaped my lips and his kisses against my neck grew wilder.
“Definately dreaming,” he murmured against my skinand touched his tongue against my skin, dragging it up to my throat before kissing me again.
He lined himself up in front of me but still didnt push inside, continuting to tease and touch my skin whilst I grew hotter with need and anticipation. He dragged his lips against mine and as soon as I opened my mouth to say something, he pushed himself deep inside of me. He covered my moan in a kiss and a burst of pain and pleasure burst within me – he was bigger than I’d expected, he could hardly fit as my back arched. The perfection of how we fit together made the pain a mere inconvenience however.
“God youre so fucking tight,” he groaned as his eyes fluttered ever so slightly, “Its perfect.”
It was beautiful. David was beautiful. And somehow, with the way he was staring down at me I felt as though I was beautiful. He gave me a moment to adjust to his size before he thrusted into me once more, claiming my mouth with his whilst squeezing my hand tight. Pleasure like no other shot through my core as his thrusts grew deeper and more frequent. The sound of our bodies smacking together and the bed hitting the wall echoed throughout the room but neither of us seemed to care. My thighs were already dripping and a low sound at the back of his throat groaned as he pushed us both closer towards the edge.
“David,” I whimpered as he pressed our interlocked hands into the mattress. His other hand hooked under my legs and pulled them up over his shoulders so that he had a better angle. Thrusting into me and perfectly hitting my g spot, I let out a loud moan and shoved my face into the pillow beside me to keep quiet. His breathing grew ragged as he grabbed my hips and pulled meet him impossibly closer. I’d never been so filled and I knew I wouldnt be able to walk straight for days after this.
My nails dragged down his back and his head tipped back with a mix of pleasure and pain. I could feel an orgasm building up in my stomach and he pounded into me faster and harder, watching me intently for the moment I released.
David thrusted once more and I felt myself coming undone beneath him. He spilled himself inside of me and it dripped out onto my thighs, soaking me and the bed sheets beneath us. I squeezed my eyes shut as he buried his face into my hair, trying to catch his breath. His skin was hot and gleaning with a thin layer of sweat and I ran my hands through the dark locks of his hair.
We lay there for a few minutes, both of us trying to catch our breath and calming down after such an intense experience. He ran his nose along my jawline until his lips were at my ear,
“I dont want to say goodbye tomorrow morning.”
I breathed in slowly, “You have my number to call me.”
“Every single day?”
“I’ll be mad if you dont.”
“Twice a day?”
I laughed and he added, “Can I see you every day?”
I shook my head because that one was kind of impossible, “That’ll be expensive.”
“Not if I live in the same house as you.”
I stilled and a smile engulfed his face, “I’m thinking about selling my apartment. Violet’s got her own place and the only reason I stay here is because of my job. But i shouldnt have to put the company above you. I could still work there from afar it would just be a bit more difficult. But im ready for that challenge.”
I couldnt believe we were both having this conversation. As much as I knew we needed to talk about it without sex clouding our minds, i couldnt think of anything I wanted more than to see him every day. To have him as part of my life.
He was serious. He actually wanted to move to Chicago and I couldnt think of single reason as to why he couldnt.
I nodded slowly and a smile transformed his entire face. His hand reached up to trace my jaw and his thumb brushed over my lips.
I grinned, ”You’re going to need a jacket.”
I walked into David’s kitchen to see Vi sitting on the counter, her green eyes reflecting in the sunlight streaming through the window. David was still asleep and I hadnt wanted to interrupt his rest when he looked so peaceful.
“Hey,” Vi smiled and nodded towards the toaster, “Do you want any?”
“Oh that’d be great,” I smiled and took a seat next to her.
“So you’re the girl David meets up with once a year?”
I nodded, happy to hear David talked about me when I wasnt there, “Yeah its kind of a tradition.”
“How long are you planning on doing that? For the rest of your lives?”
“Until I’m twenty three.”
Her head cocked to the side, “Why?”
“Its the age my mother decided I’d be mature enough to have a serious relationship with somebody.”
“Ah,” she smiled and looked down at her hands, “Davids a great guy. He’s been so helpful recently with Danny and everything....,” her smile faded and she quickly added, “And he’s a great boss.”
“Oh I remember.”
“I dont know if he’s told you but he’s doing greater than he’s ever done at work,” she smiled proudly, “He’s earning more, enjoying it more, its going well.”
Doing greater than he’s ever done? And he’d give it all up to move to Chicago with me?
“How is he?”
My head snapped to hers, “David?”
She nodded, “I havent really interacted with anyone, I know its selfish because I’m not the only one hurting but-”
I squeezed her hand reassuringly, “He’s okay. He understands Vi.”
She wiped away a tear, “I just feel bad that i havent even thought about how he’s hurting. And now he’s stuck with a girl who’s about to have a baby, and the last thing I want is for him to feel obliged to help me...and I cant move back to me and Danny’s place its so quiet and lonely there,” she pressed her fists to her eyes, “I dont know what to do. I don’t want to burden anyone, but I’m scared I can’t do this on my own.”
I wrapped my arms around Vi as she began to cry into my shirt.
“Vi?” We both looked up to see David standing in the doorway with a distraught look on his face. Vi starts crying even harder and he was instantly at her side.
“You’ll be fine,” he spoke softly, “promise me you’ll let us help you.”
She nods and wipes her tears away fiercely I cant watch her cry anymore. I'm on the verge of tears myself just knowing how scared she is. I rush up the stairs and back into David’s bedroom, where I can gather my thoughts. So many things are running through my head, most of them fears. I'm afraid he's making a decision out of haste. I'm afraid if I tell him how much I wish he would move to Chicago, he would actually do it, and it's obvious Vi. Not to mention the possibilities he'd lose by giving up his job. If we just up and end our arrangement in the middle without continuing to meet up on March 5th, I’d break my promise to my mother and commit before I turn 23
I know two years is a long time for us to wait, but those two years could make a huge difference in his success.I didn’t want to be the reason he quit, Years from now, he'd look back on tonight and hed wonder if he made the wrong choice. If maybe our lives would have still turned out the same and we would still end up together, but by waiting two years, he also would have met his work goals.
He's made such a huge difference in my life. More than he'll ever know. If it weren't for him, I don't think I would have ever regained my confidence. Just having him in my life one day a year has had such a positive effect on me, I'd hate myself if I did the exact opposite for him.
And none of that includes what just transpired over the last ten minutes. There's no way he can move to Chicago when his family needs him now more than ever. Vi is going to need him here way more than I need him in Chicago. I refuse to be the one to convince him to leave her at a time like this.
I grab my phone and call for a cab before I change my mind.
David walked around the corner to meet me and I gasped, clutching a hand to my heart.
"You scared me," I took the last step. "How is she?"
He glance down the hallway toward Vi’s bedroom. "Better,"
I took two more steps, toward the front door this time. David finally noticed the purse around my shoulder and the shoes on my feet. I was prepared to leave.
I put my weight on one foot, “earlier…”
"Please don't change your mind." He interrupted.
I winced looking to the right to hold back my tears. I didn’t want to hurt David but it was best for us both if I left. David rushed towards me and grabbed both of my hands.
“Please. We can do this. Maybe I can't move right away, but I will. Things just need to settle around here first."
I squeezed his hands and sighed, “Vi says you’re doing great at work.”
He realised where this was going, “I don’t care about my job, it doesn’t matter-“
A stream of light strolls across the walls, and I glances back to see my cab waiting.
“Please," he begged, “Just give me your phone number, at least. I'll call you tomorrow and we'll figure it out then, okay?" He tried to to keep his voice soothing and hopeful, but i noticed the panic building in his chest.
"It's been an emotional couple of days, David. It's not fair of me to let you make this kind of decision right now." I pressed my lips to his cheek and then turned for the front door. He followed behind me as I reached the cab and I could feel my heart breaking with each step I took. Why couldn’t he make this easier?
"I would never forgive myself if I didn't encourage you to follow your dreams like you encouraged me to follow mine. Please don't ask me to be the reason you give them up. It isn't fair."
I wrapped my arms around him and pressed my face into his neck. He held me right and I could feel how much he needed me to stay but I couldn’t. I opened the door to the cab but hesitated.
"I'll come here next year," I promised. "I want to meet Vi’s baby. We'll meet at the restaurant again, okay? Same time, same place?"
He shook his head and shut the cab door, refusing to let me in.
“ You can't just agree to love me, and then take in back because you think it's not what's best for me. That's not how this works."
I leaned against the cab and crossed my arms over my chest. My eyes were focused on the ground but I could feel his stare.
“David” my voice was barely a whisper, “You don't need to be in Chicago. You need to be here. I'll just be a distraction, It's only two more years. If we're meant to be together, two years is nothing."
He laughed but it was short and humorless. "Meant to be together? Are you listening to yourself? This isn't one of your fairy tales, This is real life, and in the real world you have to bust your ass for the happy ever after!"
He gripped the nape of his neck and took a step away from me, trying to collect his frustration but it was pouring out of him.
“When you find love, you take it. You grab it with both hands and you do everything in your power not to let it go. You can't just walk away from it and expect it to linger until you're ready for it." The pain was etched into his face and my eyes began to tear. The moment we shared in his room meant more to me than he’d ever know but he was looking at me like I was a traitor.
I glanced at the cab and he stepped forward and put his hands on my shoulders, “Don’t walk away from this.”
My shoulders dropped with a sigh and I shook my head softly, “Im not walking away from this. I'm not doing anything we didn't agree to the first day we met. I'm the one sticking to the rules, here. We agreed on five years. And yes, we had a little hiccup upstairs where we almost caved and_"
"A hiccup?" He pointed to the house. "Did you just refer to us agreeing to start a relationship as a . . . hiccup?"
He gripped my face until his fingers were wrapped around the nape of my neck. He brush his thumbs across my cheeks and encouraged me to look up at him. David touched me softly and I swallowed back the lump in my throat.
"I don't care about work. All I care about is you. Being with you every day. Seeing you every day, I'm no finished falling in love with you yet. But if you don't want to finish falling in love with me, then you need to tell me right now. Do you want me to be a part of your life on more than just March 5th? If you say no, I'll turn around and walk right back inside that house and things can go back to how they were before you showed up here yesterday. I'll continue working and we'll meet up next year. But if you say yes . .. if you tell me you want to spend every single day on the calendar this year falling in love with me, then I'm going to kiss you. And I'll spend every day after today proving to you that you made the right choice."
His hands remained firm on my face and my eyes remained firm on hers. I could hardly breathe. A tear slowly rolled down my cheek as I shook my head no.
“You can’t-“
"Yes or no, That's all I want to hear."
His eyes were so pleading and I hated that I was the one breaking his heart but I had no choice.
"You need to be here for your family this year. You know that as well as I do. The last thing we need is a relationship over a cell phone. And that's exactly what will happen, because we'll spend every spare second wanting to talk to each other instead of focusing on our goals. We'll alter everything just to be together, and it shouldn't be that way. Not yet. We need to finish what we-“
“Yes or no.” He lowered himself until he was eye level with me and I couldn’t help but inhale sharply.
“Go back inside,” I hated how weak I sounded and I hated the tears that escaped my eyes.
David stepped back and I quickly climbed into the car before I could change my mind. I rolled down my window but he wasn’t looking at me, instead staring at the ground with a distant look in his eye.
"The one thing I want more than anything is for the whole world to live with you,” he could hear the tears in my voice. "But I have to do what you did for me the day we met. You let me go. You encouraged me to go. And I want the same for you. I want you to follow your passion instead of your heart."
The cab began to back away, and for a split second he looked as though he was debating chasing after me - like he did on the plane all those years ago. But he stood still and swallowed hard, realising my decision was set.
“Fuck!” He cursed at the empty street as the cab backed away. Tears blurred my vision as I left his apartment yet again on March 6th, certain I’d never see David Aames again.

HI!!! Red Dwarf or the ask meme please! I'd much like to know your interpretations and thoughts! <3
Im throwing this under a cut because, boy, this is gonna be a long one
❤️Favorite character
This won't come as a surprise to many of any of you but, yeah, it's rimmer. I want to put him in situations, I want to take him out of situations, there's the full duality there. I relate to him a lot (which probably isn't a good sign lol) and I strongly believe you cannot have red dwarf without him (i mean, look at the ratings for season 7 even with the girlboss that is kochanski). His character itself has such good potential, the angst that comes with being a hologram, the touch-starved-ness (?), his entire childhood, his need for academic validation even 3 million years into the future when all who would care anyway are dead, I could go on forever.
👿Least favorite character
Don't do this to me man 😭 I don't even know if I have one?? At least not out of the main crew. There's no character that actually makes me vibrate with rage in a bad way... If I did really have a think it would probably be a one-off character that was only in one episode and never mentioned again. Oh! I've just remembered, some fanon interpretations of Toddhunter honestly made my skin crawl with how horrible he is, but obviously that's just fanon, and some fanon interpretations have him as honestly a really good meaning guy- looking at you, Work Thing ;)
💐Comfort character
If you can't guess at this point I honestly don't know what to say. It's rimmer, look I know I know, the comfort character who has had no comfort in his entire life/death but *slaps roof of car* this baby can fit so much projection! He's so varied, he's gay to me, he's bi to me, he's autistic to me, he has ptsd to me, he's yearning, he's in denial, he's just- HE *I am dragged away by a lone hand through the doorframe before I can continue*
😍Character you have the biggest crush on
Are you sensing a theme yet 😐 I'd say I don't wish to be perceived for this but let's be honest, my tags reveal all, and the majority of the fandom agrees. It's Rimmer. Again. Slightly outing myself as an x reader enjoyer here. *shaking him* I could fix him I really believe I could. (I'm glad you're the one who sent the ask, Lexie, we can both bond over being self shippers lol)
🤝Character you relate to the most
WHY IS IT ALWAYS RIMMER ON THIS ASK GAME PLEASE HELP😭😭😭 Hes a stickler for the rules (as long as they benefit him), he's probably autistic, he loves hammond organ music (very disappointed that he hates my main man Glenn Miller though 😔), he was an outcast for most of his childhood, he was bullied, he spirals at the slightest bad thing. I'm starting to really sense this isnt a good thing 😭 (I swear I'm doing okay I've got a good support system please don't worry)
🔥Character you think is overrated
I don't know?? 😭😭 I think all of red dwarf's characters really add to the material as a whole, and hey, it's not like this fandom is really big enough for overrating anything. I might say Duane Dibley, because yeah he's funny, Danny really performs well as that character but I don't really understand as to why he was so much of a fan favourite that they brought him back (for season 6 I think it was?) So if I had to say one character it would be Duane.
🧨Character you love to hate
*smacking my face against the doorframe* its rimmer again 😭😭😭 he's such a prick, especially in the early seasons man, I simultaneously want to look after him and throw him against a wall. I contain multitudes, it's okay
🙈Character you always forget exists
I guess I'd have to say Holly? He's got brilliant comedic timing and delivery (as Lovett and Hayridge) but the fact she was cut out in the later seasons and then brought back in season 8 and then gone again in the more recent ones just feels disjointed so she's easily forgotten sadly. (Yes I use she/he pronouns for Holly, she's genderfluid to me <3)
🐰Favorite non-human character
I'm gonna be honest, it would really have to be Holly. (I'm discounting Hologram Rimmer because he still sees himself as human in some way and he's had far too much screentime in this post). The comedic timing, the deadpan delivery, that amazing scene where she counts by smacking her head against the screen always makes me howl.
❤️‍🩹Character who deserved better
All of them. All of them. Rimmer, for reasons we've already gone into. Lister, the survivors guilt, he was SA'd at 12?!!, his entire relationship with Kochanski, his alcoholism, crushing loneliness, I could go on. The Cat, his entire species left him and his family because they were old and/or disabled, again loneliness. Kryten, literally in denial about his crew being dead, left alone for over 3 million years and still somehow hanging onto his sanity through episodes of androids, the need to do anything, literally anything to make sure he doesn't think to hard about anything other than laundry, honestly people need to talk about him more. Kochanski, losing her dave, stuck with this dave who looks exactly like hers but is so different, watching him destroy himself, having nothing in common with any of the crew, LONELINESS MAN.
Thank you so much for the ask! This was a long one phew

Love that dandelion print you just reblogged - if that's Jameson, what flowers are your other characters?
Oooooh.
Kauri is a violet. He looks pretty and delicate outwardly and keeps to shadowy spaces but is surprisingly stubborn.
Danny would be a daisy. Often underestimated or overlooked, looks easily crushed, but grows in places you wouldn't expect. Loved by more people than he thinks.
Chris would be a sunflower. But like... a really short sunflower. He is always chasing warmth and light, and brightens the day of anyone around him.
Ashley and Abraham are the Linnea borealis, the twinflower. The blooms of the twinflower share a single stalk, then split. They grow in Nordic nations.
Nat is a marigold. Seemingly common, unexceptional, but blooms brilliantly.
Nate would be a peace lily, something hard to kill that prefers to go unnoticed as often as possible. But he didn't start out that way.
Ryan is absolutely a magnolia flower. He is older than anyone can ever understand, in his own way. He is brilliant, eye-catching, impossible to ignore. There is something ancient in every single soft petal.
Allyn would be a rose, a single rose on a long stem with thorns removed. Their petals have gentle waves along the edges. There is a hint of red like blood just barely visible in the depths of pink.
Sarita is a lush peony, surprisingly hardy for all the blooms that seem to burst the moment conditions are right.
Nova I think is oleander. Beautiful and delicate and deeply dangerous.
Antoni is morning glory. He seems harmless in appearance, mild. He blooms under the warmth and light of Jake, Kauri, and Chris. But he is as deeply dangerous as Nova is, people just don't realize it because he seems so normal and pretty.
Jake is daffodils. Just plant him in the right place, don't get in his way, stand back and watch him bloom wildly.

"I don’t see this writers missing out on a chance to go for maximum drama with Ellen having to support homophobic policies."- you are correct, Ellen will be supporting homophobic policies. I just hope by the end of S3 she realizes she's made a huge mistake, comes out to live her life outside of the GOP.
Hmm, you sent this before ep 2 aired so do you know this for a fact or were you speculating? I mean, it seems to be borne out by ep 2 once it did air, and yeah, looks like it's gonna be an ugly journey ahead.
And another anon:
I won't give away any spoilers but Ellen and Larry in 302 is just nauseous. Her arc is just terrible with 2 scenes each at 2 minutes or so. I'm more disappointed than I was going into the season - had low expectations going in.
And another anon:
Did you watch the new ep of for all mankind??
A warning: I get quite negative below about the show For All Mankind so avoid if you're a fan.
Yep, I did watch, and...I'm just. It's so funny to me that media like FK and TBH and BSC and WN and Crush will be dismissed practically sight unseen, actual quality aside, because of their target audience, but something like s3 of this show is being critically praised and considered true prestige.
First. Danny and Karen? Are they kidding me? I don't even know what to say about that or why anybody would think it's compelling storytelling. I'm not one to deny actual quality when it's there, I thought the first season was great, I can watch people do unlikable things and still think the show is good, that's not my issue. But this is just all so soapy and twisting everything, character and plot, to service the melodrama and gimmicky alt history plots they've thought of. I said in my answer about Love, Victor that I could understand making choices that serve the fiction, but that's a show about high school love, this is a show deliberately trying to play out the reality that would unfold if just one historical event changed. So little of this is what would actually happen even with the set of characters they created in s1, it's just, "wouldn't it be cool if we did this?", which is the worst way to write.
I want to continue stating my unhappiness with whatever's going on with Ed/Molly/Dani. Are they trying to say that as much as we like Ed and Molly, people naturally turn conservative in their older age and Ed and Molly are unknowingly being pretty racist in how they're going about this? Or white people are just always capable of it? Because Ed was openly racist and sexist right there and I just don't believe Molly would think Ed's the best candidate to this degree, yeah, he's a "cowboy" like her, but why would you want that in a very long-term mission, especially when he's already 60? Yeah, Molly, let's remember the fond good old days of the agency you two signed up for, when the version Ed signed up for kicked you out for being a woman. Increasingly, the weight and history of past events and characterizations we literally saw in front of us seem to matter less and it's about what the current season requires.
Are we even supposed to dislike Ed for his comments, given the show went and rewarded him with the Helios mission? And in literally looking up the spelling of Helios right now, I found this article where Joel Kinnaman discusses Ed's thought process and there's no mention of how what he said was completely beyond decency, how it's just a friendship that goes through rough patches and it's actually him who feels betrayed. We don't even need to look back at the show's treatment of race to know Dani's going to yet again get the short end of the stick narratively, look how after that conversation between Ed and Dani where she's the one who heard something so hurtful, it's Ed the show decided to stay with and be all sympathetic about. Shows can have bad things happen, they can have people do bad things, they don't have to correct it or call it out, even, including something isn't agreeing with it. But you can't ignore it entirely???? In and outside the show? And what you choose to focus on and how you tell that story says a lot! Who gets the agency, who gets the screentime, who gets the sympathy.
And then of course: Ellen. To even get to the point of discussing her and Larry having a kid, I'd have to understand why they're doing this political storyline and I do not! Why go to all this trouble? Is it to change the country for better? In which case she joined the GOP?? Will ally with a GOP hardliner?? Presumably had sex with Larry to have a kid for her image? I can only hope it was artificial insemination or adoption but given past history, I don't expect the show to care about that or the message it's conveying.
But if she's joining politics for Mars, WHY??? They're literally showing Helios right now as a private aeronautics company and had Ellen's background being perfect for it, why not have her do that? Because it would just be more dramatic, right, for the closeted lesbian to be a Republican politician? Not even a Democrat. No, no, let's have her possibly be campaigning on anti-gay stuff. Isn't that just delicious? As I said: the "wouldn't it be cool" style of storytelling.

hey sweetie,
no worries! I totally understand you being a busy gal!
also this week seemed to be a whirlwind of emotions for you and I am glad you are both going to enjoy danny elfman's concert and the ax7 (this reminds me that I have to listen to their new album but I have been obsessed with hozier's latest single for so long. there's something about him making eternal damnation so hot and sweet, I ugh).
in all truth, I am not going to lie: not all Italian men are like that. like there was this cute guy who I had a crush on in my master's degree who was the sweetest (and low key looked like jace from hotd) and I have heard of both ethan and damiano from 'maneskin' being adorable boyfriends. but I am not going to lie, there's a whole subculture of possession and toxic masculinity that sometimes makes me go like 'you know what? at least single, I am able to have an actual conversation'.
and same! in all truth, I am not that... mad about being alone in the future, mostly because I'd prefer to be alone than in bad company
(there's an Italian saying going 'meglio soli che mal accompagnati' that means that ('better alone than in bad company'), btw).
and also I actually discovered that I was fully bisexual last year, because I always suspected it but I mostly went out with men (which is valid). but then I went to a friend's birthday and there was this cute butch girl and I was like blushing and twirling my hair. for ever sad that I was too much in the closet to try to get her socials, ugh.
(this is all to say, because I realized re-reading that it makes no sense, that I was like 'ok maybe, it isn't a passing thing. I actually like girls AND boys').
(and same. in all truth, Italy isn't that safe of a place to be lgbtq+ - like I don't want to portray a bit picture of my country, but we literally have f*scists at the government and people who think that families with two fathers or two mothers aren't families; like it ain't all like that but certainly it isn't a good climate - and although I think that the people around me would be mostly accepting, I am also scared of disappointing others. and it's absolutely valid not to want to come out. not till you feel comfortable, ready and safe).
also as I have said I am leaving next week (and pls don't apologize! I should have personally been more precise + it's totally alright, as I feel like on internet communication is limited, so pls don't feel bad in the slightest. also I am not saying the day not because I don't trust you, but because in here we have the superstition of like not saying the specific date of important events to avoid 'malocchio' (=bad luck)). and in all truth last weekend was pretty funny!
I am spending this one doing uni stuff + getting ready for leaving because I don't know about you, but I am an overpacker (you know in those cartoons where the mc shrinks them house to bring it all over with them? that's me if such a thing existed).
oh I have actually finished 'carmilla'!
in all truth, I did enjoy it at best among the other short stories in the book (basically it was a collection of three short stories of the author, one of which was 'carmilla' indeed. the first two were interesting but also ... very convoluted. 'carmilla' was very interesting (and sapphic, like there ain't no heterosexual explanation for that book), although the end seemed to me a bit too rushed (which I don't know but I often feel this way with vampire books but hey, maybe it's me... maybe I am the problem).
(also I have to admit that I also haven't read much aside 'carmilla' these days mostly because I used to suntan on the terrace while reading it - as a lover of vampires would do, obviously - and these days I couldn't. so, I gotcha and understand you, babe).
also oh pls, DO TAKE ALL THE TIME YOU NEED TO READ MY VAMPIRE! AEMOND FIC!
(I ain't ever want you guys to feel rushed into writing my fics, as they ain't running away and I understand we all busy lives!).
also I am extremely surprised by the positive feedback I got for it, as I genuinely wasn't sure about posting it when I finished it, but I am glad you enjoyed it all so much and I can't wait to read your opinion!
(also if you are into fictional vampires - as a normal human being should - can I recommend 'castlevania'? it has been my recent obsession and it is an animated video series based on a series of videogames. one of the characters is aemond (with both eyes) and it has a whole interesting take onto dracula and one of the vampires is named carmilla - and I love her. she's such a bitch (positive)).
and it's true indeed about gothic novels! I don't remember where I saw it but there was something about the fact that oftentimes women feels an attraction to the gothic because they find empathy in the creatures and that oftentimes there's an acceptance of the darkness they aren't allowed to express.
(like I ain't going to lie, I love 'frankenstein' a whole lot because I could... somehow ... relate to the creature struggle to be accepted. like they aren't a monster in the end, and yet they are perceived and made so, by the narrative and events. there's something about me assimilating both the creature and aemond in mind)
(also last thing onto gothic novels and then I shall stop. another rec I have for you is 'mexican gothic' by silvia moreno-garcia. I don't know if I have already talked about it and if I have pls ignore this. but I absolutely love anything this author writes. but this book in particular is a wonderful mix of so many european gothic themes with south america own. small disclaimer: it has a whole lot of triggering themes in it - incest, cannibalism, poisoning, etc - and in general it isn't a light reading but if you enjoy gothic novels it's a must!).
yeah, I know! I am not familiar with museum or art galleries, but I do know that in the publishing world oftentimes the books are so expensive and yet translator, curators and even writers get paid so little (e.g.: I don't know if you know them but xiran jay xhao on tik tok have a whole and honest conversation about how little authors earn from the books they publish and how oftentimes writing full time isn't possible if you want to eat).
it's just so annoying because I feel like there's such a devaluation of culture as a matter for everybody and this applies even more to the people that work in it.
and I get it wholly: I'd like to support more people, but I also feel guilty as I rely financially onto my parents in part as I am still a student so, I have a limit to what I can and can't support. so, ugh... (but also I feel like oftentimes the best way to support authors, although this might be idealistic, is to share their art till you can support theme also financially).
LISTEN! I can't get my hopes up after I got my heart broken like that (not me witnessing the gruesome scene of his death and turning to my sister with tears in my eyes just for her going like 'oh I know he was dying', I UGH... THE BETRAYAL!). but if he does come back as kaz I'd love it!
I truly didn't understand why they acted the way they did aside for shock value as he was a well-liked character and in general it'd have been interesting to see him and his own dynamics.
PLS, IT AIN'T DELUSIONAL IF YOU WORK FOR IT! but aside the jokes! never lose up! my mom always joke that I am so stubborn that even at the cost of burning down the world, I'll get what I want... so like... universe, I am not saying that you should throw ewan my way... but hey...
(also fear not bestie, I won't ever @ you, because same).
and bestie, I received your request and I am already brainstorming for it! it'll probably take me a bit to answer both your requests (although cregan is the next after the one I am writing, because I was hoping that somebody would ask something with him). but I love them both and I can't wait to write them down!
oh gods, I blabbered a whole lot, but I just wanted to say lastly that I am indeed enjoying summer, although stressing a bit for uni (but that's normal) and pls have a lovely day and week and take all the time you need!

BESTIE, MY LOVE, I'M ONCE AGAIN ASHAMED OF HOW MUCH TIME IT TOOK ME TO REPLY!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAH. It's been crazy as I power through the end of the semester in one piece (I feel like I barely made it out alive lmao) but I'm finally winding down a little bit, and I was like, first thing tomorrow I'm gonna reply to this message, (also, AHH I KNOW that Hozier released a new single and I've been meaning to give it a listen but, as you know, A7X owns me at the moment lol! I'll wanna know what you think of the new album if you give it a listen, and alternately, I'll make sure to fangirl with you about Hozier when I listen to 'Francesca'!) I'm gonna put my long ass reply under a read more because I'm sure I will get super rambly too!
Despite being from different cultures, I relate to that immensely, as something similar happens here. Misogyny here is absolutely insane, and we have literally the same saying here! it translates directly actually, 'mejor solo que mal acompañado´. I think this problem might span most Latin cultures, and what sucks is that families are actually very matriarchal (I don't know if it's the same in Italy), like grandmothers and mothers are considered the heads of the household. Still, then they raise the sons as spoiled, conceited, and entitled assholes, who get used to having everything done for them, so that permeates how they act around women. Anyway, I could get on a whole tangent here lol, but long story short, I agree and relate so hard with that. And I'm also fine with the idea of being alone! I enjoy my solitude a lot (some people think that people that are alone must feel incomplete without a partner, which isn't the case at all), but sometimes it does get a little bit sad to not have someone to share certain stuff with, you know? But it IS so complicated to navigate dating, also because of what you mention about Italy not being safe to be out. Yet another point I agree with!! (also, don't you worry about painting a bad picture of your country lol!! I definitely understand where you come from. Like I'm so proud of being Mexican and proud of my culture too, but oh my GOD I HATE IT HERE, I WANNA GET OUT OF HERE. I have a love-hate relationship with my country, more or less because of the same problems you mention, though maybe except for fascism, which, holy fuck I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like living with that rooted in the place you live! I'd be scared out of my mind. I could find a parallel with it, with us having the United States right next door though, especially living in a border city.) But, despite all this long ass rant s;dflkgjlsdfkjglkj I am glad however that you were able to find yourself in that way, and I hope there will come a time for the both of us to feel safe enough to be more open with the people we care about when it feels right to do so.
oh my gosh, by the time I'm replying I know for sure you've gone on your trip and come back lol! HOW WAS IT!?? (Also !!! I'm loving all the phrases/sayings in common that we have. In here it's 'mal de ojo', yet another direct translation!)
Re: Vampires. I'm so glad you liked Carmilla, and I totally agree about vampire stories ending on a rushed note. I felt that way about Dracula when I first read it, and I'm looking forward to finishing it now with Dracula Daily and seeing if my perception changed! but yeah, why is that!? Definitely noting down Carmilla to read later. AND BY NOW YOU'VE READ MY THOUGHTS ON YOUR STORY AND LET ME TELL YOU, I'M STILL THINKING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVED IT SO FREAKING MUCH, ESPECIALLY THAT WHOLE 'BEAUTY AND THE BEAST' TYPE OF VIBE BUT WITH THAT PLOT TWIST! IT WAS, UGH, *CHEFF'S KISS*. SERIOUSLY! Also, I've been meaning to watch Castlevania for the longest while! it's been on my Netflix list for ages and idk why I've never gotten around to it, but you're definitely persuading me. I feel like I might need to do that sooner rather than later because I've definitely been in a huge vampire mood lately (though it's been focused on Kas!Eddie mostly. Made a Kas!Eddie playlist because I've been toying around with an idea for a fic and I'm immersing myself in the vibes because I really wanna write it!) Funnily enough, I have 'Dracula' and 'Frankenstein' in the same compilation book, along with 'Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde'! But I definitely agree with you on the creature aspect. It is my absolute favorite thing to do with my own fics, that I wish I got to do more! I love love love using that parallel of either the reader or the blorbo being some kind of creature as a metaphor for them being outsiders and struggling to be accepted and loved. And I've heard of that book!!! it actually sounds right up my alley so now that you bring it up I'm definitely gonna see if I can find a copy of it to purchase. I read the synopsis and I'm most definitely hooked. Also because I'M SUCH A SUCKER, for horror/gothic stories that have to do with Mexico. I'm such a lover of spooky things precisely because Mexico just has the best folk stories about creatures, and there are just a lot of cultural elements that can be explored through those spooky/gothic themes!
Re: culture. Oh my god, absolutely. In fact, I think it might even be worse or on the same line as translators (curators/artists getting paid even less). In my experience, most museums or galleries won't pay you at all for participating in an exhibition, or if you participate in like, panel conversations and talks. And it is the shittiest when it's the artist who has to pay to even submit an application for an exhibition open call. In that area, the artist is the one with more to lose. Idk about the curator, but because the curator is the organizer of everything, and the one budgeting and pitching the proposals to whatever organization or event is interested in participating, they do most of the work for free. It's something I was told when I did my internship abroad. The head curator at the gallery told me, 'if you're interested in curating, you're gonna end up doing a lot of free work in the beginning'. And if an artist wants to live off of their production, their safest bet is to apply for scholarships or financial aid/grants for cultural production, but still, you submit your work and it's in competition with a lot of people. I've never gotten a grant even though I've been submitting my work for ages now, and that freaking SUCKS! The devaluation of culture is really soooo so damn frustrating and complicated.
LMAO BESTIE, let's put it out into the universe then!!! please, either Ewan or Joe Quinn or Jack O'Connell, any of my silly guys @universe, please and thank you, LOL! I love being delusional, it makes my days be a little bit tolerable and even more so when I have someone to vibe with. Also, this may be weird, but I used to have crushes on actors that were way older than me. And now (idk if it's ME that's getting older or what is going on), but most of my crushes are close to/are my age, which makes me EVEN MORE delusional. I'm like, oh I could TOTALLY get with them because the age gap isn't big, if I happened to come across them in England dklfjglkjsdflkjsg. Like, Ewan is supposed to be 26 like me, Joe Quinn is only 29, Jack O'Connell is 32 which is still a reasonable age gap...THE DELUSION!!!
But anyway, I'm so glad to know you're enjoying your summer so far, and I hope that you keep enjoying yourself despite the stress surrounding uni, because it is well deserved, my dear! Hope you're unwinding from your trip and finding a lot of time to rest, and, as always, indulge!

"How's my favorite Aussie doing ?", Daniel asked you over the phone.
"Like shit", you replied to him honestly. You were under the cover, a hot water bottle on your stomach, empty chocolate bars packaging all over the bed.
"I wasn't excepting that. What's going, honey ?", he asked in a sudden serious tone.
"Urgh, nothing big. Red days", you told him.
"Oh I see. It's hurting that bad ?" You hummed for an answer. "It's been a while since it has weakened you like this. I'll be home faster than you can say rainbow", he said and you could hear him run wherever he was.
"Rainbow", you joked. "Don't rush too much, I'll be okay. Love you", you whispered.
"I love you more", and then he hand up the phone. He was away for the Silverstone GP, and he was coming home for a few days before the next one. You didn't know if he was still in the paddock or at the airport - or somewhere in between.
Pain filled your whole body. You tried to fight to stay awake and welcome Daniel home, but fatigue took the best out of you.
You woke up feeling tickles all around your face. There was something there. You tried to push it with your fingers, but they were caught in someone else's hand. Your lips automatically smiled.
"Hi Dan", you said, opening slowly your eyes.
"Hi, my beautiful lady", he said, almost crushing you by laying his entire body on you.
"You're heavy", you pouted.
"How do you feel ?", he asked, sitting down next to you.
"Terrible, it's getting worse. I feel like there's a hundred people walking inside my stomach", you complained. "What about you ? Great race, I'm so proud of you", you finished your sentence with a wince of pain.
"Do you need anything ? Hey, you wanna what we'll do ?", he asked you while getting up.
"Enlighten me, please"
"First of all, you are going to go back to sleep, okay ?", he kissed your forehead, insistent on the you.
"Alone ? Danny, you just got back...", you gave him puppy eyes.
"I'll join you quickly. Pinky promise"
"Pinky promise", you told him, smiling lightly. He kissed you once more and left the room.
Again, it didn't took long time to fall back asleep. You were in so much pain, you didn't had a lot of strength to fight it.
You were taken out of your sleep by noises downstair. You guessed Daniel was probably back from wherever he decided to go. You tried to get up but your body was aching so much, you collapsed back on the bed, making a bit of mess.
"Honey, everything alright ?", you heard him shout from downstairs. He then ran up the stairs. He saw you out of the covers, and smiled lightly. "I think you need to stay still a while", he told you nicely.
"I need to get up", you groaned.
"No you don't, tell me what you need", he tried to force you to lay down but you tried to resist.
"Dan"
"What ?"
"You can't help me on this one, I just need to get up quickly", you explained to him, hoping he'd understand the hint. But unfortunately, he didn't. Sometimes, he was just too innocent.
"If you don't let me get up, there will be stains of blood all over our shits", you told him, almost sarcastically.
"Damn, well, at least let me help you to get up", he took you bridal style and carried you in the bathroom. "Alright, do your thing, I'll be right here when you get out"
You changed your tampons and looked at yourself in the mirror. You sighed, you absolutely looked like shit.
"Is everything ok, honey ?", Daniel knocked softly on the door. Facing silence, he opened it slowly.
"I'm awful", you went to hide in his chest. You didn't really had mood swings during your period, but you could easily tore yourself down.
"For someone who's bleeding like hell, you look amazing. You really are beautiful, you're the most gorgeous girl I've ever met. C'mon princess, you just need to rest", he again helped you out and put you down the kingsize bed.
"It's freaking dumb, I'm just on period. Why the hell is it hurting that bad ?", you asked, more to the universe than to the poor guy standing next to you and looking completely lost.
"I don't know, love. It'll be behind you really fast. Will a warm bath help ?", you looked at him disgusted.
"Nope, not really, I don't feel like it. Sorry, you can go take a shower though", you replied without thinking. Daniel made big eyes.
"Is this your way of telling me I smell bad ?', he was clearly offended.
"No", you bursted out of laughing, despite it hurting you more. "I was just thinking that after the flight, it might make you feel good"
"Don't worry about that, I took one right before I left"
Daniel went back downstairs but was back quickly to your side, with a bag.
"Is that my treasure ?", you tried to joke.
"It is, there's everything you like in here", he said getting everything out by pointing it to you. "Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. Here we have some chips and some guacamole to dip in. I also bought cheese"
You caught the chips. "Thank you so much, I was dying to eat this", you gave your lover a genuine smile.
"Give me that water bottle, I'm going to fill up with hot water again"
You couldn't be thankful enough to have him in your life. He was always the sweetest. You loved him so much. For the first time in your life, you truly felt loved back.
"There you have it", he placed the hot water bottle back on your stomach. He tucked you in with all of your covers beneath you.
He laid down next to you, peppering kisses all over your face.
"Can we watch a movie ?", you asked.
"You wishes are my mine, Miss", he turned on the tv and went through the netflix catalogue. "How about... The notebook ?'
"Yes, right decision", you snug closer to him if that was even possible.
You managed to stay awake for the whole film, even if you didn't really watched it.
Daniel hugged you closer. "Feeling better ?", he asked you.
"A little yeah", you answered.
"Tummy rubs ?", he smiled your way, making your eyes light up.
"Please", you got rid of the cover to let your stomach show for you boyfriend to take care of.
He put his head against your stomach and kiss it through your shirt. He let his fingers caress it, and massage it really lightly. It felt so damn good, it was like Dan's fingers were taking all the pain away.
"You're so magical", you told him, eyes closed.
"And I'm not even naked", he joked.
"Daniel Joseph Ricciardo !", you yelled at him in a playful way.
"I can't wait for you to feel better", he kissed your stomach a little longer. You hummed. "I've missed you so much, your body, your curves, everything. I wanna show you how much I need you", his hands made their dangerous way to your boobs.
"Can I ?", he whispered against you.
"They hurt", you told him.
"I'll be careful", his hands applied a little pressure on your boobs. At first, the sensation was weird, and kinda painful. But it soon turned out to feel really nice. He kissed your left boob, with your shirt still on.
"I love you so much", his body moved up closer, so now his head was now resting in your neck.
"I love you more", you replied honestly.
Period was a fucking hell of a mess, but it was a little more bearable with Daniel by your side.

Me again! So in one of the story Danny is thrown in the past and meet past Steve and Bucky. So when Steve wake up from the ice and hear Fury mentioned a boy named Phantom would Steve go and recruit Phantom himself?
Steve had dealt with a lot of things, from dictators to alien/magical technology to waking up in a block of ice seventy years later.
So the last thing he was expecting to hear was that this teenager ghost kid from the Howling Commandos was flying around New York City.
They had met Danny in the woods during one of their raids on the hydra bases. He had been confused, and dressed in weird clothes. He had weird powers and even weirder references but he had been an asset. He even befriended Howard, and the two had tinkered away for nights on end, when they weren't on missions. And then Danny had bid them farewell, and Steve and his troop ziplined onto a train to kidnap Arnim Zola.
If Danny had left just a week later Bucky could have been saved.
But Danny had explained everything he could to him, how he was a man out of time and needed to get back to some weird dimension full of ghosts. Steve had thought it was science fiction. But now, watching footage of Danny somersaulting mid-air before extending his legs out to kick a guy's chest and into a wall, it was unmistakable. Unmistakable because Steve had taught Danny that move.
Steve was itching to move. So crush Danny in a hug because in this crazy new world he was the only one who understood what it was like to be in the wrong time. He could understand the loss that came with losing everyone he's ever cared about.
Finding him wasn't particularly hard. Danny had mentioned once that he enjoyed high places. He liked looking up at the stars and their twinkling lights.
"I've always wanted to go to space," he said one time while he and Steve had been keeping watch. "It's possible, where I'm from. But with my weird physiology I don't think they'd ever let me even get into a rocket."
The trip to the top of the Empire State Building was a trip, to say the least, when he was decked out in his new uniform, stars and stripes and all. Danny was there, leaning against the railing. HIs eyes were closed, and it only gave emphasis to the dark rings around his eyes.
But it was no doubt his Danny. The youngest member of the Commandos. If Steve squinted, he could see the faint outline of the Howling Commandos tattoo on his left shoulder blade, peaking through the thin fabric of his shirt.
"Lovely night for a stroll, isn't it?"
It was the first words he had ever spoken to Danny. He had turned to him, terrified and in awe all at the same time. Just a kid thrown into the battlefield, not knowing if he was going to make it out alive.
Hey, I don't want any trouble. I just-where am I? I promise I'm a good guy. Look, I can prove it, there are some unconscious Nazi's I took down just over here-"
Danny jerked to the side, eyes blue and wide and filled with a mix of confusion and utter relief.
"...Steve?" He asked. His voice was quiet, held close to him, as if speaking any louder would make Steve disappear.
"Yeah, kid. It's me."
As soon as the words left his mouth, a pair of strong arms-stronger than they looked-wrapped around his chest, and Steve hugged back just as hard.
When they pulled away, Steve got a closer look at Danny. He was definitely older, at least by a few years. He had been with the Commandos for two years, making him sixteen. He couldn't tell if it was time or something much worse wearing down on Danny.
"How-when did-you're gonna have to explain everything. You know that, right?"
Steve gave Danny a warm smile and clapped a hand on his shoulder. Danny, just like he'd always done, leaned into the touch.
"I will. But in return you have to take me to your favorite restaurant in the city. I'm still adjusting."
The grin that split Danny's face in two is one that Steve will hold close to his heart. And if it ends up in his sketchbook later, well, who can blame him?

Hello! I love Leap, can we have a sequel ? Like Izuku going to see Phantom and just talk or Phantom scolding All Might for leaving a quirkless Kid on top of a building after destroying his confidence and dreams ? Or introducing Tucker to Izuku?
Phantom was a patient man. At least, he liked to think he was. But sometimes patience has to take a backseat to blinding rage.
He had worked with All Might here and there. They were both powerhouses in their own right, and the police or the commission would team them up every so often. He had the experience, and his intelligence was mostly with being a hero, and not much else.
So when Nezu introduced them to the new staff member joining them for the next term, the last thing he had been expecting was the number one hero.
He had seen Izuku since he tried to jump. They would hang out at the park sometimes, or Danny when Danny picked up Elle from middle school they would pass, just in case he heard the sounds of fighting. Just in case he needed to jump in and save Izuku again.
He had met Inko a couple of times, and had told her who he was. It would be unfair to her if she was out of the loop. And he wanted to eventually gain enough trust from her to maybe start training Izuku in basic fighting skills. Enough to pass the entrance exam, anyhow.
He was bright like a ray of sunshine, and he was so fucking smart. Way smarter than him, and he was incredibly strong. Maybe not physically, not yet, but he had this determination he's never seen in anybody else.
These were his thoughts as he pinned All Might to the wall, snarling in his face. The only ones who hadn't moved to stop him were Aizawa, Yamada, and Nezu.
"You idiotic piece of shit," He spat. "How dare you-how fucking dare you break his fucking dreams!"
"Phantom-I don't-I don't understand what this is about," All Might stammered. He was still in his large form, but he seemed to shrink under Phantom's intense faze.
"He almost died because of you," he said. His voice was low and dangerous. His hands were trembling with a rage barely contained, leashed back but not muzzled. "He jumped because of you! I barely saved him in time!"
Before he could let his anger make him do something he'd regret, he threw All Might to the side and stormed to the other side of the table, slamming his hands down.
"What are you talking about?" Snipe asked. None of the other teachers made a move because Nezu still hadn't stopped him. Aizawa was watching calmly, probably glad to see the number one's face get verbally kicked in by a coworker. He had told Aizawa and Yamada about Izuku. Because maybe if Danny trained him up enough Aizawa could teach him with the capture scarf, and show him how to be stealthy in ways that Danny couldn't teach him.
"You don't remember? You're unbelievable. Because if I had ever crushed the dreams of a quirkless kid having a really bad day, I'd sure as shit remember. He asked you, on that roof, if he could be a hero without a quirk. Do you remember what you told him, All Might?"
All Might was pale now, looking between Nezu and Danny, as if the principal wasn't practically on the edge of his seat.
"I-I told him he couldn't be a hero without a quirk. I told him he could still be a doctor or something and help people that way."
"And then what did you do?" Danny was aware of a hand on his arm, and it was quite literally the only thing holding him back. His whole body was trembling now, with nothing but white hot anger.
"I left."
"You left," Danny repeated in an almost condescending tone. "You crushed the dreams of this quirkless child, and left him on a roof with no second thought."
There were a couple of sharp inhales from his coworkers. He's pretty sure the gasps were from Cementoss and Thirteen. The grip on his arm tightened.
Danny tucked his head in. There was a familiar sting of tears behind his eyes, but he refused to let them fall. He could still hear Izuku's trembling words.
I asked All Might, and he said I needed a reality check.
If Danny had been a second slower he would have been to late.
"I almost didn't save him," Danny said. HIs voice was quiet, tired, but it still held an immense weight that had everyone in the room hanging on his every word. "If I had been a second slower..." He let the sentence hang in the air. Let the words, the consequences, sink into All Might, who only stood there with his mouth open like a fucking idiot.
"He's a bright kid. Has a wonderful talent for analysis. Has all of these notebooks on heroes and their fights. There's something about everybody in this room in those notebooks. Even Aizawa. The passion this kid has is...There aren't words to describe. And he's fucking funny and he's brave and so so strong to deal with the intense bullying he gets from his peers already. And all he needed were a few words of encouragement. And you...You couldn't even give him that."
Danny sat back down, resigned, tired. The hand on his arm-which belonged to Mic, slid around his shoulders. Danny used the small comfort to keep going.
"You didn't sit there with a crying boy in your arms at the top of a building that night. You didn't hear how little he thought of himself because his favorite hero told told him he had no chance. And people wonder why the survival rates of quirkless people are below 30%," Danny scoffs. "You're a fucking joke, All Might."
---------
The meeting shortly ended, and Nezu had All Might stay after. Nobody said anything to Danny as he scrubbed his face. Mic and Aizawa walked with him until they hit the teachers lounge, but then they went their separate ways. He still had to go pick Elle up from school.
When he got there, she was already in a heated conversation with Izuku about the uses of support gear for underground heroes, or for people who had non-combative quirks like the Red Huntress. He couldn't wait to introduce Izuku to the quirkless #7 hero. Maybe after he introduced him to Tucker.
But first, he had another Midoriya to talk to about a training regiment.

I don't care which slashers/killers you do for this BUT...... May I have some killers hcs meeting their male s/o for the first time? 🥺👉👈
also I know I need to get through what little writings I have planned done and out so I can do these in return and maybe do somethin for ya
I really tried here, I'm sorry if it's not exactly what you wanted. I love these two and I wanted to write more for them. Please let me know if you'd like me to change them at all or if they seem wrong.
Ghostface:
Danny Johnson did not have a tolerant upbringing. His family, despite lacking any sort of faith, was a family built on the foundation that men only slept with women. That's just how it was and that that was how nature had kept things going. When Danny realized he didn't just get hard when looking at naked girls however, life became a lot harder. Literally.
Collage was the escape he needed. He took off and never looked back. Ghosting his family before it was a regular thing. He could finally be who he really was.
The first time he saw you was at a party and he knew something was different. Just introducing himself felt like a life or death situation, he couldn't fuck this up. Some deep part of him needed you to like him, needed you to want him. Danny man not have called it love at first sight but it was definitely something. When you left you took his number and promised to hang out later. You had similar schedules so it would be easy. Right?
You threw a wrench into every plan he'd set in place. All his aspiring affairs with other people died the moment you gave him your name. Your perfect name.
Danny begins every morning thinking about you and would lay down at night with you on his mind till he faded into sleep. Everyday for months you plague his thoughts. Your chill sessions are basically dates in his mind. Even if it's just bumming it on the dorm couches with Mariocart and eating cheap greasy pizza. He cherishes every moment. It has to be more, he thinks, your too nice, too friendly and some of your remarks could be taken as flirting. You're not like this with your other friends. Just with him.
He plans to ask you out but for the first time in his life he's scared by the idea of getting a no. The thought of being rejected by you makes him feel legitimately sick to his stomach. What if he's misread all your signals and your disgusted by his advances. What if you call him all the awful things his old high-school friends did when he came out to them. He needs you to know how he feels, keeping it all in is making him feel anxious.
He was mulling it over in his mind when he got a call, answering it to hear your voice caused a sudden feeling of euphoria within him. "Hey, can we meet up?" Your voice was shaky and you sounded unsure. But Danny agreed right away, assuring you he had the time and was happy to meet up.
You two got coffee together all the time but today there was something more to it. The way you laughed and bumped his shoulder with your fist, the way you smiled awkwardly like you were trying to keep something from him. Danny was getting worried as he looked down at you. "Is everything alright shortstake? You seem off today."
You took a deep breath and looked him right in the eyes. "DannyIlikeyou" you blurted out cheeks red and eyes wide in panic. "I'm sorry I just I couldn't do it anymore," you looked away, "keeping it all in made me feel so awful and I just needed you to know. I'll understand if you don't feel the same way about me and if you don't want to see me again I'll understand that too but-"
He kissed you, right there in front of all of the coffee shop patrons and employees. To his amazement a few people wooped and clapped.
Danny pulled away, he took his coffee in one hand and then your hand in his other.
"Let's go somewhere more private."
He led you to a little pond, there were ducks and water lilies. It was quiet, peaceful, the perfect place to have a heart to heart.
The talk that followed was long and he explained at great lengths how he felt about you.
You confirmed some of the things he suspected, embarrassed by how easily he read you. At the end of it all you were both a bit teary eyed.
"So I guess what I'm trying to say here is, I love you." You did cry after hearing that, so happy and relieved he felt the same way. You kissed him, and he responded in kind, with only the ducks as witnesses this time. They didn't make a peep about the kiss....but they did quack.
Thomas Hewitt:
Tommy knew something was different the first time he met you. You were just a new hire at the meat plant but he couldn't take his eyes off you. The poor thing didn't know what to do. So he just watched. Intrigued by the feelings he felt when he did.
"Good morning Thomas." You'd nod as you passed him to get to your work station. He'd grunt in reply and nod. Happy to see you.
"Hey Tom, lunch time! Thank God for lunch breaks am I right?" Your hand was firm as you passed him, clapping his shoulder. He liked when you touched him, no one ever touched him unless he was also being yelled at. But your touch was different and it was good.
"See ya tomorrow Tommy." You groaned tiredly after a long shift, promising to see him tomorrow. He hoped to see you everyday for the rest of his life.
It was a system, a pattern, it was something Tommy relied on, like a clock, you were on time and followed the routine.
Except this morning, you weren't here. The supervisor was passing by to inspect the work station.
"Where the hell is that freaky bastard at?" He asked pointing to your station. Tommy shrugged, he didn't know, probably the bathroom. "Yeah well you might want to keep your distance, I heard from some the other guys that he's one of them men lovers. If it were up to me he'dhave never come here, but the boss says we're 'short staffed'." The snicker that bubbled up from him was disgusting and he mouthed off a few insults and slurs before walking off to finished his rounds.
Tommy was angry, more than usual at least. He wanted to take that supervisor's head and crush it under his mallet. Instead he stripped his apron off and went to the bathroom. Still a tiny part of him was happy, glad to know he wasn't alone.
The bathroom was never locked, it couldn't be, the lock was broken and building management was too cheap to replace it. So Tommy pushed through the door and listened. A soft rhythmic sound greeted him. Soft uneven breathing, muffled by the walls of the stall. He knew that sound, it was all too personal to him.
He stepped in front of the stall and their sounds turned panicked like they knew they'd been caught.
He knocked on the wood so gently and as it swung open he confirmed his suspensions. Your eyes were red and swollen, a large bruise on your cheek. Tommy saw red as he looked over your generally disheveled appearance.
You were trying to hide the fact that you'd been crying.
"Hey Tommy, what's happening brother? The uh... supervisor send you in here to find me or something?" When you tried to push past him to get to the sinks Thomas stopped you with one big arm.
"Uh you good?" Your voiced trembled and it torn Tommy apart to hear the man he loved so distressed. His big arms pulled you in, holding your smaller body against his massive one. He just didn't care anymore, he didn't care if you knew, or if the whole world knew. People already called him a freak for the way he looked. They were wrong, Thomas wasn't a freak, not for the way he looked or for the way he felt. Neither were you for that matter. When you hugged him back his heart soared. "Thank you." You cried softly, face buried in his chest.
The gentle giant wiped a tear away, carefully as not to agitated the bruise. He grunted and ran his thumb around the edge of the darkening spot.
"Don't worry about that, some of the guys found out about my...well I'm sure you know or have at least heard." Thomas nodded, still holding you. "We should probably get back to our stations."
Tommy was hesitant but he let you go to wash your face and fix your appearance. Things were going to be hard for the both of you. But hard was nothing new to him he was used to fighting for equal footing with others, fighting to get what he wanted always fighting. But this time it really was something worth fighting for. This time it was you.
