My (possibly controversial) Twisted Wonderland Opinions

I see a lot of these on TikTok and such, so I wanted to make my own. Remember that these are all my own personal opinions, and I do not claim that any of these are canon or factually correct. If you don't agree, that's fine, just remember to be respectful.

Just as a fair warning, most of this is me being pissed off at the fandom for how it treats certain characters/players, so if that might offend you, I'd suggest scrolling past this one.

The fandom as a whole really tends to mischaracterize Kalim and I'm pretty sick of it. He's actually a very intelligent character with a deep, tragic backstory. Kalim is not your "small cinnamon roll" or "precious baby," he is a teenage boy with serious mental issues. The only reason he is so kind and bubbly is because he wants people to like him. If people like him, they have less reason to try and kill him. That is why he tries to be so nice. It is for his own personal safety. It's the same reason as to why he tries to salvage his relationship with Jamil so hard. Yes, he does still care about Jamil, but Kalim is fully aware that Jamil is the most trustworthy person in his life, and without him, Kalim could be put in serious danger. Kalim is a good person, but he is also very selfish, and does things so that people will like him more, and I'm tired of the fandom pretending like he's some innocent cinnamon roll when he's much deeper than that.

The way this fandom treats male/non-binary players is honestly so horrible, especially when Yuuka was first introduced. I have seen countless posts of female players being rude and disrespectful towards non-female players simply because they were hoping for a non-female protagonist in the anime and mangas. It's annoying and disrespectful, and I wish we could all stop fighting and just enjoy the game without the negativity. Not every female player is like this, but I see it enough that it needs to be called out.

I need certain members of this fandom to realize that most of these boys are minors. The majority of the main cast are 16-17, and only a few of the students are 18+. It feels like so many people in this fandom forget how young some of these characters are, and it shows in the way said characters are treated. It feels especially weird when I see people in their 20s and up simping after the first years, who are all 16. I don't really mind people who age them up for things like fanfics, but it's still kind of creepy to see.

Rook has been such a creep in this game since he was introduced, and people still treat it like it's a non-issue. He has such a track record of stalking students, being weird or creepy towards them, and making unnecessary comments. There was even a side story where he body shamed Vil because he put on a little extra weight. This man is not a good man, and more people need to realize that his behaviors are not okay and they are not justified, especially when several other characters have mentioned how freaked out they are because of him.

Many of the characters in this game have severe levels of depression, but the fandom still shits on them despite this. Leona and Idia are two good examples of this. People are constantly hating on Leona because he's rude or lazy, but most of his personality shows clear signs of depression. It's canon that he was neglected for pretty much his whole life, and, after a while, he just gave up on trying since no one cared. This is clearly depression, and yet the fandom treats it like this was all his own choice, which is annoying. Same with Idia: he's very clearly depressed and still struggles with Ortho's death, yet the fandom continues to make fun of him and bully him for it, and it pisses me off. What makes it worse is that the same people idolize other characters like Cater, who also shows signs of depression. They love him and can clearly see his signs just fine, yet they choose to ignore it in other characters.

And that's all I have for now. If I think of any more, I'll either add to this one or make a part two, whichever I feel like in the moment. Thoughts on Yuuka + the idea of multiple MCs/timelines

Yuuka looks really cool so far, and holy shit she's BADASS. I always feared that if they'd add a female MC, she'd be the stereotypical "shy feminine damsel in distress Mary Sue", but man, Yuuka rules. Also she's so ANDROGYNOUS??? AND HOT??

I'm just gonna hope they won't change the characters' behaviour towards her too much only because she's female, e.g. them blushing, treating her like a softie, or being like "omg have you heard, he's actually a girl". All I want is a badass Yuuka who kicks ass and is one of the boys like it's only natural, NOT someone who is being shoved into the role of coming off as a romance harem protagonist/crush magnet or being treated differently only because she's a girl.

Cuz not gonna lie, the fandom assuming that the MC is female is really getting on my nerves, and this community is already cisheteronormative enough. Really not in the mood for people portraying TWST as a straight otome game/cutting out the self-insert in fan content & replacing it with Yuuka now because of the mere EXISTENCE of a manga MC who is a girl.

Anyway, Yuuka's cool. And remember when Crowley said something about "MC possibly having been summoned from another dimension"? Yeah, Yuuka's the reason I now 1000% believe in the theory of multiple timelines.

Yuuka seems to have witnessed Riddle's overblot, but at the same time, Yuuken also witnessed it. The mangas connect to each other and yet the two never met. This is proof enough for me.

I mean, it totally makes sense either way. There are tons of MCs out there anyway - every single player has their own one, and yet they never cross paths in the game. There's always only ONE MC.

I agree with every last one of these. This is so accurate

Some new TWST Headcannons

Some have been mentioned in posts, some are updated versions of previous headcannons and others are brand new

Riddle’s pet crab, Queen, is a trained therapy crab that specializes in anger and anxiety

Trey is really good at sneaking into places and practices by breaking into Riddle’s home

Cater and Idia are great friends online but will never acknowledge each other irl

Deuce is actually a little shit and his pettiness levels are up there with Jamil and Vil

Ace doesn’t know the meaning behind slang words, he just uses them because they sound cool

Leona instinctively carries tampons with him at all times despite going to an all guy’s school because of Ruggie

Ruggie doesn’t need to use tampons anymore bc he transitioned, but appreciates it

Leona got held back for getting into too many fights, most of which were to defend Ruggie against older students

Jack’s pet peeve isn’t dishonesty or disloyalty, it’s someone touching his tail w/out permission

Jack once met a childhood buddy of Ruggie who didn’t know that Ruggie had transitioned

Oop that was confusing.

They never connected the dots poor boys

Azul has done many unspeakable things to fulfill a contract but will never intentionally put the Leech brothers in harm’s way or make them do something they find uncomfortable

Floyd can dance, but Azul can’t dance for shit, so Jade and Ruggie teach them a bit

Jamil thinks that Cater is a bad influence on Kalim

Kalim invites all of his siblings to NRC pretty often and they just vibe in the dorm with him

The Fairy Gala gave Kalim and Jamil a newfound respect for Ruggie and Leona, but they lost their respect for Vil

Speaking of Vil, he actually isn’t the best potions maker in the school

Azul is the best, but he wasn’t aloud to be the dorm head of Pomfiore

Azul was upset about this

Rook’s obsession with Leona has led to a permanent ban from Savannaclaw that he always manages to get around

Epel follows Jack around and copies his work out schedule

When it was officially said that Malleus was a fairy during the Fairy Gala, Idia muted his screen and screamed into a pillow because his three year old conspiracy theory was right!

Now to research Malleus and Lilia’s real ages….

Ortho knows their exact ages, but won’t tell Idia so that Idia can have the fun of finding out on his own

Despite not being an actual student, Ortho is part of the First Year Gang

Ortho’s existence is actually a controversy in Twisted Wonderland and he started the debate on whether magical technology has gone too far to the point of reanimating the dead or not

Malleus can be heard humming lullabies for children while sketching gargoyles

Lilia takes cooking lessons from Jamil, but they always end with a fire

You’d think after 500+ years that this guy would learn how to cook

Silver has dreams about a prophecy in which he is destined to slay a great dragon

They’re always nightmares and always end the same

Whenever Silver has a nightmare or a vision of the future, he instinctively goes to either Malleus or Lilia and curls up in bed with them

He may be 17, but he is still their little boy

Sebek doesn’t actually know about Silver’s exact relationship with the dorm heads, but has a general idea (his idea is that Malleus once saved Silver’s life and he’s not wrong but he aint right either)

Sebek is kinda insecure about himself and how Silver is the favorite guard and how loud he is and how he swapped Malleus’ robe that one time and how Malleus doesn’t actually need bodyguards he’s strong on his own and probably needs a hug

The dorm heads are fully aware of this and are making an active effort to make Sebek feel included in family time

Oh and if you thought that Deuce was a petty little bitch, Sebek is just as bad

He heard someone talk bad about Silver and instead of beating them up, he shaved the kid’s head in their sleep

“Talk shit, get hit, or in this case, bald.”

This is probably the best, most accurate description of the game I've seen so far

I just tried explaining twst to some of my friends and they basically got “Hot anime boys trauma dump” Also I accidentally made it sound like I said “every character is achieved LGBTQ+” when I actually said “Every character is a shade of LGBTQ+” long story short Rook is now ascended above LGBTQ+ and is his own thing.
