TWST Signature Spell Effects on the Body
Because I'm a wordy, purple-prose kinda bish, I thought about what each Unique Magic might actually feel like on the body (at least the ones that affect other mages when cast). (SPOILERS FOR BOOKS 5 ONWARD)
(CW: Loss of motor function, scopophobia, senses being messed with, forceful sleep)
Off With Your Head:
The moment it slaps around your neck and shoulders, there's that deafening rush of blood to one's ears. If you and your magic were lightning, the collar just became your glass bottle. Outside of the momentary dulling of senses, one may have a general difficulty breathing, either from the collar fitting itself or the lack of support without one's magic. Lightheadedness and an internal hollowness make the collar leave you feeling like after a flu.
Bet the Limit:
His magic literally amplifies and pushes back your magic, but to do that he has to rip control of it from you. Bet the Limit gives one that jerking tug on the shoulders, a jab of pain that burns into your neck almost. Sometimes if one resists or tries to wrench control back, they're left feeling like their shoulders have been dislocated. They haven't of course, but the feeling is still enough to keep one from moving them for a while.
Doodle Suit:
There's a metallic, fruity Sichuan peppercorn-like numbing on the senses before it's replaced with what he decides. Pretty straightforward.
(Legit tho: I think his is kinda scary in terms of utility. The possibilities o_o )
King's Roar:
Burning. King's roar doesn't have fire but there's still a dry burn. Rug or rope burn, an allergic reaction, or being splashed with hydrogen peroxide, it all makes the nerves curl away like shriveling plants. Skin on downwards begins flaking like baked mud, falling off into sand like chunks of slate.
Laugh With Me:
Laugh With Me at first feels like the pinch of nerves. But pulling against the bindings is like hyena teeth biting and yanking your muscle and bones; you're not in control. That tugging hurts much less, more of a firm mouthing on your body in whatever direction he wants.
It's A Deal:
Much like his flattering words, his magic leaves one feeling glittery. But there's a cold tentacle-like grip on the heart for a quick moment; a reminder of what lies in the undertow. It's not a memorable sensation, but memorable enough to know what happens when it returns upon failing to fulfill your end of a contract. The resulting Anemone doesn't feel like much until one touches it, like a large zit.)
Shock the Heart:
The sudden wash over you feels like the splash of cold water after getting dumped out of a boat. Pharyngeal jaws scrape and tug on your tongue to reel you in, truth dripping off of you like seawater.
(Truth is a lot of times subjective so why nerf it further? HC he can use it multiple times but lies cause it works on those unaware)
Oasis Maker:
Rain that's always the perfect refreshing temperature. Never frigid but never feeling hot. A relaxing shower of jasmine and chai, without the stifling steam
Snake Whisper:
A burning cobra bite to the skull. It's venom sears every wrinkle in the brain as you feel yourself get pulled along by the collar of proverbial tail coiled around your neck. Resistance feels like hot sand filling your brain cavity. Eventually the oppressive weight of said sand makes one submit.
Sleep Kiss:
Sleep Kiss seems pretty straightforward. It probably feels like sitting in a soundproof glass box, with cold air filtered in. Every chilly inhale acts like anesthesia, or the tug of exhaustion by hypothermia.
Fae of Maleficence:
His 'Blessing' feels like being laid into a patch of semi-prickly twigs; a dragon's nest or roost. It hurts slightly, but the diligence is paid to lay you gently in so they don't prick. Eventually you can somewhat relax, but adjusting or moving reminds one of the thorny poking all around you. It just becomes preferable to sit still, rather than try waking or even attempt at getting comfortable.
Meet in a Dream:
Many mistake Silver to have soft hair, but the only downy lightness about him, I think, is Meet in a Dream. Whatever sensations one feels when dreaming of flying, that fills you to buoyancy as he leads you along the Dream Corridor.

I’ll keep saying it: I hate the limitations there are to using Shock the Heart. I get why they’re there… but I still hate them. And here’s why.
If you break down Shock the Heart, it functions as any other sci-fi/fantasy “truth serum” does (i.e. Veritaserum, Lasso of Truth). It compels someone to tell the truth.
… Or rather, it compels someone to tell their truth.
Because the truth depends entirely on what a person knows.
Look at it this way: if you see Person A take a plate of cookies and then later see that plate empty, you’d probably say that Person A ate all the cookies. But suppose, unbeknownst to you, Person A actually shared those cookies with Person B.
If you tell someone that Person A ate all the cookies, you technically wouldn’t be lying, because the truth you have is just the truth you saw. To make it more complex, suppose you’re angry at Person A. Based on bias, you’d probably point a finger at them anyway, because your anger is your truth.
All this is to say: as with all other “truth serums,” the truth itself is Shock the Heart’s biggest limitation.
Only allowing Jade to use it on a person once and restricting its usage to weaker-willed, easy-to-trick mages seems like overkill.
Here you have a congregation of teenage boys, most of which have at least 10 ulterior motives and 20 traumatic experiences festering in their still-underdeveloped-brains, who never call each other “friends” and would sell each other out for One Corn Chip in a microsecond.
The process of wrangling the truth out of any of them is hard enough, but when you consider how twisted (no pun intended) each individual truth must be?
That’s a SUPER limitation already and would make for great conflict in the story.

ABILITY: Allows the caster to jump into other people’s dreams. Only can be used while asleep. Cannot choose the dream that is jumped to. The dreamer is indicated by a white bird-like wisp.
INCANTATION: “To the one I’ve met before, to the one I’ve yet to meet. Meet in a Dream.”

Sebek – LIVING BOLT (Lit. Flash of Lightning)
ABILITY: His body becomes electricity, like a lightning bolt.

Lilia – FAR CRY CRADLE (Lit. To the Furthest Cradle)
ABILITY: Allows the caster to play back the memory of an “object” for a short time.

Rollo Flamme – DARK FIRE (Lit. Burning Desire)
ABILITY: His body is wrapped in flames that he can manipulate at will. The more his foes are afraid, confused, or frustrated, the stronger his flames.

Fellow Honest – LIFE IS FUN (Lit. Rose-Tinted Dream)
ABILITY: Those afflicted feel more easy-going and optimistic and are more inclined to do things they wouldn’t normally do.

Guys, I feel for some Signature Spells/Unique Magic, the incantation is optional. Like, if they need a bit more power to it then they can use the incantation before using the spell. Like it's powering up the spell.
As an example, Jamils spell "Snake Whisper"(or "Snake Charmer" as is in English lmao). The more open the victims mind is or the weaker their mental will, the easier it is to get them under control(Kalim, the Player, Neige, that one Styx staff SPOILER ALERT lmao), but if they have good mental walls or don't trust him as easily, out comes the incantation to make it stronger to get them under his thrall(looking at you Azul lmao). Same with Kings Roar or Off with your Head. The incantation for Kings Roar was interrupted in book 3 and he still used it with ease. Off with your Head shows the incantation isn't even required to use, as we've seen in both the prologue and book 1.
I made this because I saw a shitpost about Jamil using his incantation for the MC and it catches the MC off guard and, even if I know it's a joke, it got me thinking...

Hello, I want to theorize on Ace’s unique magic. Translations done by @twstarchives
Deuce, Epel, and Rook all have hints to their Unique Magic in their max lvl lines. Epel saying he feels he could put anyone to sleep, which is his Unique Magic exactly. Rook says there is beauty in the world that can't be seen unless you have mastered a certain art. Deuce’s is a bit vague, but it kind of connects in my mind?
Max Lv Up Deuce “I’ve never had anyone join me for intensive training as persistently as you have. I feel like I’ve been steadily making progress ever since I met you.”
And his Unique Magic is steadily building up and absorbing surrounding magic to fire back with.

Max Lv Up Rook “There exists beauty that can’t be seen unless you’ve mastered an art. Très bien! I’ve been shown another new world thanks to you.”
Rook’s UM is “I See You” which allows him to pin point the location of anyone/anything he has marked with his magic.

Max Lv Up Epel “I feel a strong power rising in me, like an ice-cold poison. It feels like I could put anyone to sleep... maybe?”
Epel can create magic glass coffins that can act as both an offensive and defensive spell, whatever is captured in the coffin being put into a deep sleep.

So I want to take a look at Ace's max lvl lines and see if I can figure anything out.
Max Lv Up Ace “This feels incredible. Now that I’ve got this, it’ll probably be a lot easier for me to back up a certain someone who can’t use magic.”
I think Ace will be able to temporarily lend someone his magic. Because his line is the only of the entirety of the cast that mentions helping you and not you helping them. He’s also the only one to mention your lack of magic, that might just be him teasing you, but I think it could be the hint for his unique magic. And he says it'll be easier to back someone up, so his Unique Magic might be a support/defensive magic, to contrast Deuce's offensive magic.
The only things I could come up with are, as I said previously,
1. Him lending you his magic for a short while. Perhaps just his special wind magic, or the entirety of his magic. Whether it’s entirely transferring it to you for a short while, leaving him unable to use magic until it’s returned. Or it’s a duo thing. Just, surprise! You have magic now, too!
2. I love the time loop theory, but I don’t think it’s entirely plausible, so here’s the crack theory that his magic is rewinding time to back you up from whatever he’s rewinding time from. Either to the beginning of the game, or like, 10 seconds in the past.
3. His Unique Magic could be summoning a magic card soldier. It can act as both a (living) shield, and an offensive unit. It’s a separate entity that Ace can command, but once it sustains enough damage it disappears or something. (Akin to Weiss from RWBY and her summoning glyphs.)
To add onto this idea, maybe summoning the card soldier is similar to an overblot phantom. When he uses his UM it can release the built-up blot and get rid of it via the card soldier

I think #3 is most likely, since it matches with his interest in magic tricks. It includes the card, and can be used to trick the opposing force (separate entity that acts independently, but under the orders of Ace, like a phantom)
EDIT: My friend is super smart and said “...his unique magic being able to quite literally "back you up" and reverse time a little bit. Pretty cool idea, nice play on the time loop theory and nice play on words” THEY ARE A GENIUS AND THEY DON’T EVEN PLAY THE GAME HOW ARE THEY SO TALENTED????

TWST OC Signature Spell Effects on the Body
Decided to try also offering this as something to describe my OC's magical effects as it pertains to the body.
(CW: infrasound, mentions of vertigo, implied loss of consciousness)
Step in Time:
His is reminiscent of two strong fans trying to push you in opposing directions, trying to blow you into both the past and future, making walking difficult at first. A hint of the scent of ozone. To see him move in the dilation would be to see him covered in an iridescent film
Fathoms Below:
It's the thrum of bass in the body, something that can be felt syncing with your heart, shaking your muscles, or making your eyes vibrate. The hums you can't hear can't be felt either, but you get this inexplicable feeling of dread or nausea. It's not a very ‘abstract’ bit of prose, so much as a description of infrasound.
Recuérdame:
That fleeting feeling as one's dreams start to slip away, but in reverse. A bit of autonomous sensory meridian response from the music shudders down your head and back, with a general orange and licorice sense on the nose and tongue.
Silver Mist:
Symptoms of vertigo set in. Dizziness and extreme fatigue send you off kilter with a yawn. Tunnel vision, hyperfocus on one spot, and a weird mix of boredom and curiosity arrest your attention. What is Mira's UM?
Mira's UM is called Mirror Mirror On The Wall and basically allows him to know the truth of things, for example: tell who is the fairest of them all, find where someone is hiding… discover someone's darkest secret. The more hidden the information he seeks is, the more magic he will spend
However
To use his UM Mira needs a second person, that person will ask the question and Mira will look for it and say, that is, he cannot use his UM alone
detail: When Mira uses his ability, he CANNOT lie and is forced to speak
When Mira uses his UM, the flames in his hair increase, his eyes begin to glow green and magic surrounds him, the snake bracelets on his arms come to life and begin to float, the snakes come together and form a mirror that show an image depending on the question asked
Due to trauma reasons, Mira does not use his UM

Her unique magic, "Lioness' War Cry" is an extremely dangerous magic that allows the user to let out a devastating roar that can and will kill people if not controlled properly. If you're nearby, the sound may harm your ears depending on distance.
It can also destroy building structures.
It also hurts the user's throat severely, causing extreme pain and even tearing up vocal chords.
When Chuki first used her unique magic, she had no idea she had magic at all, and it was aimed right at a building.
She was a child at the time, so seeing so many people die and the pain that came with using the magic caused quite a bit of trauma.
She completely avoided training to master it, and often hid from Kifaji and her mother when they tried to get her to practice.

Stoic. Strategic. Secretive. Always businesslike, Always poise. Unfeeling.
Those are words used to describe Mayuu, the Ramshackle prefect and the head of the Overblot Protection and Prevention Administration, OPPA for short. With her group of hand-picked, qualified young men, she defeats any overblots that cross her path.
But no one is without secrets, without weakness. And if you earn her trust, she may share some of them. Specifically business-related ones only, of course! This little lady keeps her cards close to her chest.
She is usually found snooping around in the campus or scheming in the Ramshackle meeting room, the old Ramshackle dormhead's room. If not, then you can assume shes in one of her part time jobs. Though at times she lingers close to the light music club room. Probably to check up on Lilia or Cater. No other reason, right?

Fun tidbit: As intelligent and strategic Mayuu is, it comes as a surprise that shes barely passing school. "As the OPPA head, there are much more important things to focus rather than studies", said she. Yet in truth, Mayuu would much prefer battling 2 insanely op overblots to a pop quiz in Animal Linguistics. Though, at the very least, she has better grades than Deuce.
Not-So-Fun tidbit: Often times, she locks herself up inside her room. Most presume she does it to keep her future plans secret, safe from prying eyes. Yet some say they heard whimpering from the other side of the door, accompanied with a foreign melody.

"Tattoo Tango"
Tattoo Tango lets the wielder insert voices in the target's conscience. If the wielder is close with the target or is highly informed of the target's critical weakness, the wielder could accompany images with the voices. Sensory images, like the ripple of the ocean or the heat of the scalding sands, will be created.
An unfortunate side effect though is the user experiencing the same thing as their target. Their pain, their despair. And Mayuu uses this to her advantage, to make sure the overblot would happen where no outside party would be affected.
Another physical side effect on the wielder is that whatever image they created shall be imprinted on their chest, maui style.
But one must be careful when wielding such powerful magic. For if the image is too concrete, the wielder's soul may enter the illusion, leaving their body unconscious.
Redraw:
It is semi-based off Maui's chest tattoos from Moana. It tells a story, which matches this storyteller's heart. It is also based off that one mental breakdown I had in high school.
