i haven’t been sober since 10am for 4/20 here’s some weed fueled batfam hcs

• tim smokes weed. i think he deserves it. as a treat

• dick bit people (in and out of custom) until he was like 13

• tim beat candy crush and emailed them begging for more levels and they told him no

• jason will only drink cold water

• cass learned what the word cunty meant and hasn’t stopped using it since but she says it in the most serious tone everytime

One important life hack is to keep your favourite fics on your phone on a reading app. Also keep some fics from your "to be read later" list.

Advantages:

Even if the fic is deleted, you'll have your personal copy

You don't need data to read fics

It makes reading long-fics a breeze

It looks like any old book, so you don't have to feel self-conscious on public transport because it's not instantly recognizable as ao3

You can keep all your faves with you all the time

it hardly takes up space on your phone - trust me.

Lifesaver for long flights / unexpected long wait

Disadvantages:

Not much. Makes commenting sometimes something you have to actively think about.

I personally just use the standard "Books" app on iphone. I download fics in "epub" format and open them in Books.

I don’t really know how to explain this, but that thing where “nice, middle class white ladies” infantilise (particularly young, particularly ND) trans men IS A THREAT.

The idea that you’re too young, too vulnerable, too easily influenced, too mentally ill to make your own medical decisions IS A DIRECT THREAT, and it is one with which the target audience are *deeply* familiar.

It is a threat of institutionalisation, social exclusion, direct removal of your rights and freedoms, of having your children, your job, your home, your ability to live independently, removed and - in the worst case - of forced medication and sterilisation. It is the abusive-maternal voice, telling you to “stop this behaviour now, or there will be Consequences.”

It’s the, “don’t mind her, she’s just at a difficult age/doing it for the attention,” which means you are not going to get the help you need, but you are going to be forced to accept all sorts of things you are not. It is the one by which we are removed from public spaces and punished endlessly in private until we conform.

It is a social control mechanism and it is one with which many of us are *deeply* familiar, and by which we are incredibly traumatised.

It is a dog whistle.

It means, to them, “don’t worry, I’m taking care of this,” and, “the situation is being contained.” To transmascs, it lets us know they are not going to let us get away with it, and it is directly intended to dredge up a lot of very, very deep early trauma.
