What is your opinion on Taehyung's sexuality? He is a very vocal supporter of lgbt cause. He is the only one with enough balls to go on a Vlive to recommend Call me by Your Name which is a movie that deals with homosexual feelings as the main subject matter not even as a subtext. I know RM recommended Demian which inspired BST but Demian had a spiritual context of attraction between two boys.
Taehyung not only recommends explicit gay movies and arts, he also pays special attention to lgbtq fans in concerts. Would it be a reach to assume he identifies with being queer? Do you see his support as something stemming from his support for Jikook, for any of his unknown queer friends, or as just him being a good person with narrow focus on this specific issue only?
I've been getting inundated with questions about Taehyung's sexuality, and I'm not entirely sure of the reasons behind the sudden interest (and it's usually always him, specifially)
CMBYN was a wonderful, beautifully made movie. It deserved its accolades from top-tier celebrities and filmmakers, from those who are known to be straight to those who identify as queer. In general, a person's interest in queer-centric media doesn't necessarily equate to a reflection of one's own sexuality.
That said, Taehyung has always struck me as someone who, like Namjoon, has a deep appreciation of art–whether that's traditional, film, music, etc. From the way he talks about certain things and cares very little for outside opinion, there are no boundaries for Taehyung. Just because he's in a position where his interests could affect the world's perception of him is null. If he likes it, he likes it. He's going to keep doing what he's doing, and if you don't like it–tough.
The same thing can be said for his sexuality, although I could never presume to know how he identifies because that's such a personal thing.
I would argue that Taehyung and the rest of the members pay special attention to all their fans, and the fact of the matter is that they don't exclude anyone. BTS' support for the queer community is because, fundamentally, they understand that people come from all walks of life and no one should be contained into a box that conventional societal pressures imposes. I think that much has always been clear.
This isn't to say that he or any of the other members aren't queer, and I would never undermine the experiences of a fan who relates strongly to any of the members, but I've seen this fandom use similar examples to "prove" their sexual identity, and it's not enough.
From my own experience with intakes and becoming intimately familiar with hundreds of different kinds of people, there are some cases where the stereotypes ring true, but more often than not, people are not so cut and dry. They never are.
I may refuse to talk about the boys' sexualities in depth, but my personal stance on sexual identity is this: it's not black and white, it's a scale (a modified version of the flawed Kinsey scale). I've had colleagues vehemently disagree with this, of course, but that's how I perceive the world's population. That includes BTS, and that's all I have to say about that.

Hello! Your blog is so nice to look at, I really enjoy checking it once in a while. I really wanted to become an Army at some point but I had a VERY BAD experience and now I'd rather look at them from afar, which is fine by me but still. I really like Sope btw, I think they're cool and quite badass together and really talented. On my (short-lived) account on twitter I once retweeted something about them together (a cute gif i think ) and someone said that Jhope was pretty much homophobic (1)
Tumblr media
Hi 💜
Wow, ok, thanks for writing me and I'm incredibly sorry for your bad experience. People on social media seem to forget how to be decent humans quite a lot, they can be the worst, seriously. Hiding behind their username and different email address makes them feel as if what they say online is not as hurtful or bad as in the "real world". And in my own experience Twitter is frequented by worst of trolls and bullies who just don't have better things to do...
That being said, I only lurk on twitter because of this reason. I can give you this advice at least. And yeah, people here on tumblr are much more open-minded, that's for sure. 😁 You can maybe give it a chance here.
About the thing that person told you... First of all no fan can know for sure what any of the members actually feel. That's just the fact. Anyways, Namjoon, Yoongi and Taehyung in some way mentioned their support or acknowledgement of LGBTQ+ community. Homophobia in Korea is a difficult topic, deserves much more time and research and speaking to actual koreans to really understand the problem and BTS did get a lot of homophobic trolls quite riled up. The members understand the concept, they know we exist and to be honest I don't think they'd ever say anything against LGBTQ+ community now that they're so big and have access to much more info and have probably quite a lot of guidance on what to say and how to act. They must be at least a bit open-minded. Also, entertainment is full of LGBTQ+ people, they worked and work with many openly queer people and with more still in the closet.
So yeah all of what that person told you is only speculation and most probably that person projecting their feelings and wanting to be edgy or simply hurt you for the thrill. They're but a burnt toast and don't deserve your attention.
That's at least my opinion.
And last but not least - don't apologize for your english - you learned an entire new language and can write a whole assay into my asks, that is an achievement! 😁💜

I personally highly doubt any of them is homophobic. Or at least they know better than to ever say/show it, they are not dumb.
Yoongi basically said he was queer, and collaborated multiple times with Halsey who is openly non-binary and bi. Namjoon did a collab with Soyoon, who decided to have a kissing scene with a girl in her MV. I could go on but these are for me the most obvious moments I could think of.
The general public will automatically think that all the members are supportive of the LGBT+ community or at least that they are not homophobic by association. This, even if certain members never showed direct support through words/actions.
And taekook in this case are aware of this, they don’t NEED jeopardize the image they created for themselves, to support lgbt+, they really just need to ride off the other members’ actions. I would say though, while being in the same group doesn’t automatically mean they have the same opinions, they did spent a lot of time together before expanding their respective friend’s circle. I don’t think bts as of right now could work and be friends (to whichever degree u think, it’s irrelevant) if any of them showed signs of reject/disrespect for one another. so I think taekook played it safe so far and always will. And that no, they are not homophobic but if they ever were, we would never know lol.
Let's agree to disagree about what Yoongi said. Namjoon is the only one among them who has used inclusive language with intention imo. I think they'll work with both homophobic and queer people, that's the business end of things. Who they choose to be friends with on the other hand is more telling, it's not black and white though. I was just pointing out that the focus is on who Tae hangs out with, but never Jungkook, who regularly is seen with someone who has been accused of bullying. That's probably because of which shipper set the homophobia allegations come from.
I won't say anyone has to support LGBTQ causes. Far be it for me to assess for someone else the risk of being out and proud, same as guessing their sexuality. We were only talking about the general atmosphere of SK that allows for idols to cosplay(?) queerness and then turn around to share opinions like this and this very comfortably.

Request: "hey! may i request an imagine where namjoon has a boyfriend (male transgender) and they decide to make their relationship public but maybe not all the fans being supportive / respectful of it? and namjoon rlly pissed off by the comments online and making posts to half educate them & half being shady haha thank u :("
Requested by: anonymous
Pairing: Namjoon x transgender Reader
Gender of the Reader: male
Word Count: 3k
Genre: Angst, Hurt and Comfort, Fluff
Warnings: mentions of Homophobia and Transphobia; mentions of hate towards the LGBTQ+ Community
A/N: Well... what should I say? I think I'll write every request individually without specify how long my writings would be. It really depends on my own idea for that request. This here took some time because I had to make some research and thought a lot about, how I want to write it.
That's also the reason why it ends up to be so long, because it was important for me to write that really long statement that Namjoons makes in here in the full version.

He should have guessed it. He should have noticed it, before the vlog would be uploaded. No, he should have known it! He should have known that it'll happen when this information gets to the public.
And at the same time he should have known that there are also some black sheeps among the ARMYs.
Although the large majority is very open, liberal and supportive, there are still some people who call themselves an "Army" and "support" them, but they're also very open when they don't like something.
It could be their new outfit, their new haircut or, like now, their lifestyle and their relationships. When something deviates from their idealized image, which means that his members and he no longer correspond to the overly perfect image of that Army, they start hating.
There aren't many, but they still exist. Sadly.
And all of that just starts because of a scene and the one sentence he had said to explain it.
Yesterday he uploaded a self-made vlog on the occasion of his birthday, in which he simply wanted to take the Armys through his day and show them, how he's spending his birthday this year. Nothing "bad", right?
You two made your relationship public three months ago. Of course, after this public announcement, the excitement was big and pretty much every korean and even some international boulevard magazines as well reported about it. Who could ever have guessed that there will be a young man at the side of the world known K-Pop Idol Kim Namjoon instead of a woman??
The biggest gossip subsided after a week and since two months pretty much everything turned out to be quite normal again. Namjoon and you get a lot of encouragement and support for your relationship from the vast majority of fans, you already have an official shipping name (and Namjoon has to admit that it sounds really cute!) Beside that, fanarts of you two have been already created, based on the few couple pictures that Namjoon recently posted in their Twitter account.
However, Namjoon "only" introduced you as his boyfriend. He hadn't told the whole publicity that you were transgender and "actually biologically a woman". Why should he?
You identify yourself as a boy, just you weren't born as such, which is why you want to adapt your gender to your actual identity. It's not more than that and all that just means that you are his boyfriend, nothing else.
Joon just introduced you as his partner and not that you are female to male transgender because that has actually nothing to do with your relationship.
And then there was the thing with his birthday vlog. He had thought that this little thing wouldn't attract attention, probably because it had become so normal for him.
You brunched together in a restaurant on the day of his birthday, enjoyed the good food together and laughed a lot. Really nothing so unusual when you go out to with your partner.
This was followed by the fateful scene that has caused all of these comments now.
You two were so deep in your conversation that you completely forgot to pay attention to the time. However, you still had a doctor's appointment that day, which is why you rushed out of the restaurant in a hurry.
You just noticed it a bit too late that you'll have a doctor's appointment for your next testosterone injection on Namjoon's birthday. But you could't and didn't even want to re-arrange a new appointement because you need the renewal in a relativly regular interval.
So the vlog only showed a few seconds where you two sprint stressed but also laughing to a taxi, so that you'd somehow still belong halfway to your actual time of the appointment in the doctor's office.
When you get your injection, Joonie waits for you in the empty waiting room and explain shortly in the vlog, why this appointment is so important.
"Unfortunately, my sweetheart was born in the wrong body and to be able that he can live with his correct gender identity, he has to go to the doctor to get his dosis of testosterone."
And that was it actually. After that you went back to your shared apartement, where the boys surprised Namjoon with a little birthday party. Congratulated their leader for getting older and then unpack all the presents together. With it, the vlog was uploaded. Namjoon and the boys had given no further thought to this "new piece of information" that turned out be the reason for these controversial comments under his vlog. Simply because it's already become normal for everyone. You are a transgender, but you're just Namjoon's Boyfriend for everyone. Nothing more.
Nevertheless, some "fans" don't see it that way, they even starts questioning if it's correct to call you Namjoon's "boyfriend" because you just can't be a "real boy". After this comment all the other ones only got even more worse.
Namjoon got the opportunity to read the comments when he already was on his way to the studio. He had wondered this morning why you were so silent and inwardly at breakfast. He had ask you gently if something happed or if you're not feeling well. But you just shook your head and said that you slept badly. Namjoon doesn't ask further because he was sure, that you woulf know that you can always be completely honest with him. And Namjoon doesn't want to blame you, that you would be lying to him, so he just gives you a loving smile.
How wrong he was when he read through all these awful comments under the vlog.
The other members have seen these comments too, they're so damn furious, with what kind of words you're called in there and that some of the them wished that Namjoon would please break up with you.
They should've trained the new choreography today, but this incident is now much more important and the way how they want to deal with it. They came to the decision to make a clear statement.
Actually it's planned that Jimin make a vlive today, but they decide that Namjoon should make it instead due to the situation.
He himself is not so sure yet whether he should really do it today, the anger about these disrespectful comments is still too big and he cannot promise not to say rude things to the fans himself as well. He wants to give them a better role model than to hate each other. However, he's becoming more and more aware of the importance of publishing his vlive today.
Because you're his boyfriend and through your relationship, you get so much more attention, which unfortunately also increases the possibility of harrassing you, for what you are, a lot more. He brought you into this situation, so Namjoon also feels obliged to stand up for you and show you that he's absolutely not going to accept something like that!
In addition, it's so important to him and all the other members to show that they will accept hate and harrassing of LGBTQ+ people in no way.
It breaks Namjoon's heart when he comes home and sees your red, swollen eyes, testifying that you cried. He had tried countless times to contact you throughout the day, but you neither answered his calls nor his text messages.
The last time when you were online in the messenger was tonight. Probably when you read all these terrible comments.
"Hey baby...", Namjoon whispers softly as he comes up to you and closes his arms around your body, pressing you tightly, almost protectively against his chest.
"I know what happened. I read everything."
With these words your body begins to tremble in his arms, you press your face into the crook of his neck and a little sob comes from your lips.
Namjoon holds you, strokes his fingers gently through your hair and whispers sweet nothings into your ear to calm you down.
You take a trembling breath in and say in a broken voice: "I am so sorry that I am causing you and the others such problems..."
When these words comes over your lips, Namjoon takes your tear-streaked face in his hands and gently kisses your tears away.
"No, no, no, my love! Don't say things like that, they're absolutely not true! You are not the problem, definitely not! The problem are these people out there who just don't want to accept that not all people can’t identify with the gender they’ve been born with. Maybe because it’s just so normal and natural for them to be a girl or boy. Apparently these people cannot put themselves in your shoes, what it's like to feel like a boy or girl but stuck in the body of the opposite sex. Apparently they don't even tried to imagine what it would be like if they weren't born a what they are. How it would be to be born in a different body with their previous gender identification. You are not the problem. The problem are the people who cannot listen to you, at least to understand how debiliating this situation is for you. So instead of Jimin, I'm going to do the vlive today and I'll talk with Armys about it. I will tell them that I will not tolerate Transphobia and any other Phobias of the LGBTQ+ community at all."
Your swollen eyes snaps open and you look at Namjoon in disbelief. As you want to open your lips to ask him, if he's really sure about that because he could get even more hate for that, he already knows what you're about to say.
Before these words can leave your lips, he quickly presses his owns on yours and gives you a gentle kiss full of love.
"I want to do that, my love. I want to do this for you, for us, for our LGBTQ+ ARMYs and for all these other peoples. It's important for me to make this statement."
When you nod slowly, Namjoon released the embrace and gave you a last kiss on the lips.
Then he goes into the living room to the dining table, where his laptop is and logs in.
You go quietly to the couch and wrap yourself up in your favorite blanket. To be honest, you don't really know what to expect. Before Namjoon starts his vlive, he looks at you and forms a silent "I love you" with his lips.
"Hey guys. I know Jimin should be sitting right here infront of the screen and doing his vlive with you. However, something happened tonight that I want to talk with you about it. I think you already know, we uploaded my Birthday vlog yesterday and there are comments written which are absolutely terrible and I'm not going to accept that under any circumstances.", Namjoon starts the vlive.
Today there is no trace of his usual playful and childish behavior, which he shows so often in his vlives. He's absolutely serious.
"Some of you are asking why you just got the information now, that Y/N is transgender and why we didn't tell you right away with our relationship announcement. I decided against it for the simple reason that it doesn't matter in our relationship. Y/N doesn't identify with his biological gender, although his body may be female, he is actually a boy who unfortunately was born in the wrong body. He is a boy and therefore he is my boyfriend."
"I introduced him to you as my boyfriend, because it doesn't matter who he was before, what gender he has from birth. It should only be about who he is now, who can he be now, that he's able to be finally that person who he want to be. We should finally give these people, like Y/N, the opportunity to live in the gender identity they are, without always saying 'But you are in reality woman, right?'."
"No, not really, in reality is Y/N a man. Can we please finally give them the opportunity to live in the gender with which they identify themselves. So when they should identify with the specific genders like male and female. And if that's not the case, if you assign yourself as nonbinary, it's perfectly okay! After all, there is still so much space between these two genders! We should give all of them the opportunity to simply live the way they are."
"That's why I think, that we all should be very happy, that we can identify ourself with our biological gender! Therefore, we should help all the other people to find their right gender when their biological gender doesn't suit them! And that they're able to show themself in public."
Namjoon takes a deep breath after this long monologue and grabs to his water glass to drink a bit. While doing this, he read all the new comments that pops up. They are very different, some are positive and supportive and then there are these other comments, literally saying how he can talk such a shit. 'There are only two genders, nothing between them and everyone has to be able to identify with their own gender!'
It is precisely in this conflict that he realizes again that ignorance and the lack of will to understand each other are two of the major problems.
"As I read your comments, one thing caught my eye very clearly. We're talking too much about each other than with each other."
"I know, as a person who can identify themself fairly well with their biological gender, it's pretty hard to imagine what it would be like if it weren't. And because of that, we have to talk about it. I know that all transgender or generally all LGBTQ+ people are tired of having to explain their gender identity or their sexuality all over again and again. Having to explain, why they are the way they are now."
"But I think that it'll be the only way to remove these stereotypes and prejudices, as well as fear of 'this unknown thing' and thus all these unjustifiably phobias and racism. Just because a person cannot identify with their biological gender doesn't mean that you have to change yours too! It means, that you should simply accept and respect it! However, we should give all these people the chance to finally develop in such a way that they can really be themselves. Regardless of whether they are assign themself as male, female or no specific gender."
"There are still so many questions in the room that result from pure lack of knowledge. And that's normal, of course, we can't know everything, but we can learn something new every day. Ask each other questions, so that you have the opportunity to be able to imagine yourself into the position of an other person. So at least try to understand how the other person must feel. It's a long way but we should try to finally remove this hate that is caused by ignorance and misunderstandings."
"There are always two peoples involved in a conversation. That's why I appeal to the LGBTQ+ community to be still patient with us, even if you're already so sick of it. You must have the feeling of literally speaking against a wall... And all people who identify with their biological gender and are heterosexual, so you practically correspond to the 'ideal image' of society with it, should listen to the LGBTQ+ Community and ask questions, so that these prejudices and this hate can finally be stopped and we all are able to live peacefully together. I know, this idea is utopian, but we can still try to get as close as possible to this utopia of a peaceful coexistence of all peoples."
Namjoon takes a deep breath and closes his eyes for a moment before dropping the statement.
"And who, after my monologue, still refuses to simply ask the peoples questions when they don't understand something and still prefer to think about them in prejudices, please unfollow BTS and BigHit Entertainment."
Your eyes are round like plates and your mouth opens, want to say something, but no words comes over your lips.
In the corner of his eye, Namjoon sees how the comment section with messages literally explodes.
"I am not saying this out of pure selfishness just because I am angry and hurt. I am saying this because all members agree with this statement. We decided for this statement together."
"Of course we know, that you're still able to see all of our things, we cannot forbid you from listening to our music. But we all wanted to talk about this topic once. BTS and the Army community should be a safe space for all Armys, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. We wanted to make sure that all Armys in our large community are welcome and that they'll be respected in the way they are."
"The members and me just need to know that we all can be honest with you and don't have to hide anything. That we can be sure you’re supporting us really. We just want that all peoples that follow us, are trying their best to understand each other. Of course, we all will never agree at the same point of view and that's a good thing! But we should respect each other's gender identity, sexual orientation and opinion. Because in the end we all are just humans. No more, no less."
"I would like to come to an end of this vlive for today. And for all haters out there, I'm not going to break up with Y/N. Please just respect that I love him. Exactly the way he is!"
With these words, Namjoon goes offline and closes the laptop, smiling at you softly when he comes to you on the couch.
"I love you. Please don't forget that," he whispers in your ear as he slips under the blanket and snuggles up to you.
Tumblr media
Like I wrote it in Namjoons statement, I try my best to imagine myself into your position even when I never made these experiences (and probably never will) you had to make. That's why I'm always open to talk and listen to you, to learn new things about it!
And even when I'll never be able to understand you "really", then I'll make sure that you know that I still care for you guys, okay?
Love you 💜

I am so tired. In what sabe world is this something someone feels the need to debunk we already knew they fetishized them with all the lying and whatnot but its so obvious and its honestly disrespectful getting compared to these weird ass bitches when they do shit like this a day after once again admitting they boycott content that doesn't feed them https://twitter.com/dailyjimn/status/1526923789077950464?t=o5-owC2PrJUQ212TtmiGzg&s=19
Tumblr media
Clearly this person is... well, a toadlickker. That's what I am calling them from now on or until I come up with a better name. ToadlicKKer. Might add another K if it seems necessary. Peep the profile pic, tells you everything you need to know. I mean look at this shit these folks call romantic:
This person has no idea about LGBTQ+ stuff because this person has no frame of reference. I actually think many people who subscribe to that ship are blatantly homophobic. So why would they know if a family was supportive of their queer son, when they personally would not be? Toadlickkers don't actually think Jungkook and Tae have sex, you realize that, right. They're in it for other, weirder reasons I have neither the time or inclination to work out. And if they DO think they're actually intimate, they convince themselves that Park Jimin, of all the flaming fairy queens in all the land, is hetero.
Like, some weirdos decided Jimin and Seulgi were banging based on this:
Tumblr media
OBVIOUSLY that makes them a couple, ignore that guy in the red and the other girl... NO. Just... no. Park Jimin is many things but straight is not one of them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sorry, that is a CONFIDENT MAN OF NOT HETERO ORIENTATION. Jimin has also said many times that he and his parents - his dad in particular - are very close. The Parks have often displayed Jungkook's items and photos alongside Jimin's at Magnate. Surely they're AWARE of the Jikook ship, right? If they had an issue maybe they'd... separate the hats?
Tumblr media
Guess not. And while I'm on the subject I have never known a father of a straight man to send his straight son flowers as a birthday gift. I'm sure it's done but I have never witnessed it. I have, however, seen dads send their GAY sons flowers. And to have them delivered by the MAKNAE? The youngest, fidgetiest of BTS? That's weird.
Tumblr media
It also made Jungkook nervous. Because that was much more significant a gesture on Dad Park's part than some people realize, I think. And Koo did NOT want to screw it up. I MEAN... Why not Namjoon? Why not Taehyung - Jimin's best friend -- or Hobi (his longtime roommate)? WHY JUNGKOOK, MR. PARK? Not like he'd paid for the Parks' birthday party, yet:
Tumblr media
Because whether that poster likes it or not some parents love and support not only their LGBTQ+ children, but also their significant others, and THEIR COMMUNITIES. Obviously we can't prove that Mr. or Mrs. Park personally posted that on insta. Maybe so, maybe someone else did. But either way, in a lovely subtle gesture perfectly appropriate for Korea, the Parks showed their support yesterday. If some wild ass ToadlicKKer can't handle it they can just kick rocks like they do every other damn day.
Jungkook's mom doesn't seem to mind, either.

Boy in Luv to boys in love?
Part Two.
(go back to pt. 1 here)
Tumblr media
(nothing more manly man than standing at the urinal checkin’ out each other’s equipment, am I right?)
So now I am going to talk about something a little more meaty...Being homosexual in a heterosexual culture.
In these first years, we see how manly masculine males they were all trying to be. Tough men. Boy in Luv men. Stop-playing-with-me-if-you-lose-me-its-your-loss men (lets roll our eyes together 1-2-3 go). Hip hop and rap culture was (and still is) a heterosexual/misogynistic culture. Yet we know Namjoon was already a LGBTQ supporter when he helped a BigHit girl group write a pro-LGBTQ song before BTS’ debut. How to reconcile that with this music genre? Interesting to say the least. So here are our manly men in this manly man k-pop hip hop genre. And here we have Jungkookie and Jiminie who don’t know they will become our muscle bunny and chimchim. Boy in Luv MV released February 11 2014.
Tumblr media
As far as BTS music and performances, they knew how to appeal to their fans. They obviously followed the k-pop idol formula in the beginning. Heterosexuality was a given. They put out a lot of songs appealing directly to “Miss Right.” The songs/lyrics and performances very noticeably targeted young female audiences. Example: War of Hormone...the lyrics... omg...cringe... and very heterosexual of them (reading the lyrics again...cringe again...sort of a blessing I didn’t look up the English translation the first time I heard it, right?). That being said, it is still one of my favorite MV’s, what can I say? Sorry? hahahaha! I love them in all their unabashed “bad” boyishness acting in this video. War of Hormone MV released October 2014.
Tumblr media
This live performance of WoH is adorable, cheesy, and Jimin’s tongue again.
Setting aside the lyrics and intent of the song, I LOVE THE CHOREOGRAPHY! STOP JUDGING ME!
But that is them performing. That is their idol persona. That is their work. It’s called acting. It is not necessarily their real life personality. Some people have difficulty separating fact from fiction (looking at you antis, mantis, trolls, haters and cult people...)
When not working, which was hardly ever, they are seven, healthy, very fit, good looking, rowdy young men who pursued their various interests. They were surrounded by the idol industry with more physically fit and good looking humans. Even the security dudes are good looking. The whole industry is a conundrum with its sexually charged visuals yet the wholesome way idols are expected to live or at least be perceived to live. Korean societal norms are much more conservative, polite and reserved than us here in the U.S....(incidentally, BTS seemed to shuck off some of this idol identity but then they backtracked a little in some ways, ah another blog post...maybe someday.)
So as it happens, during off hours...you can only play so many video games right?... read so many books... be so pure... (haha they are not pure little innocents) ... young men being young men (a few of them teenagers and fresh out of puberty), hormones exist and do their thing on your body and your mind and I suspect they did what you do to relieve that. Masturbation happens. And stuff...
In 2015, they began doing V Lives and the precursor to Run BTS. Their V Lives were very short, sometimes only a minute long, done very quickly while waiting at the airport or waiting their turn in the makeup chair before a concert. Even during these we get a brief glimpse at the relationship dynamics.
April 2015: We are still sorta in the manly men mode Officer Kuk and Office Worker Jimin during the Dope MV.

The stylists depart from the dark hip hop style and go for cotton candy colors. The eye make up was amazing, especially Jimin’s. I promise you, the regular people on the street in 2015 Chicago thought “look at those cute gay boys taking photos...”
August 2015:
Just wrapping up Brazil and on to Chile, South America, Jungkook says to Jimin: “Chile sounds like you want to hit me in Korean...” and Jimin ducking his head shyly and giggling? um, ok? V Live from August 1, 2015:
Tumblr media
Tae and Hobi: “Jungkook, Jimin needs a birthday spanking”...things escalated quickly and the V Live was ended abruptly, um, excuse me? again, what was that? HAHAHAHAH! V Live from October 18, 2015:
Tumblr media
(pause a sec...these little hints at a fetish go wayyyyy back....and is a whole blog post in and of itself...again, maybe someday)
Do I think it was possible that they ever “dated” female staff? Mmmm probably not? Jungkook was too young and too shy, even if he did have thoughts of wanting to date a girl. I know Jungkook has said he had a “girlfriend” but broke it off when they didn’t speak for a long time. Can we really consider that a real relationship when he was what? 14 or 15 years old or younger? No. Those were all words from a very young person who possibly believed it counted as a relationship as well as thinking that was what he was supposed to say.
But honestly, I don’t think there was much going on with any attempts of either of them dating other people back then because of how ambitious and committed to their work they were. Flirt maybe, but date? Nah. How the fuck are you supposed to “date” when you are working from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep, if you even get to sleep? From what I understand, even the staff are worked to the bone. And possibly non-disclosure stuff, I don’t know what the labor laws are in Korea, if there are non-disclosure agreements then that would prohibit dilly dallying with staff. Yeah, naw, staff mingling wasn’t a thing.
Tumblr media
In 2016 they were working on the Wings album. Between jacket photoshoots and MV shoots they are still touring. The first Bon Voyage series airs the summer of 2016 (filmed months prior).
July 2016 we get the Osaka V Lives. I watched Tae’s V Live the day before Jimin’s and I understand what everyone is theorizing but there really is no concrete evidence that Jimin was hiding in the bathroom of JK’s room...except that Jimin seemed perturbed at Tae the next day during his V Live. Here they are if you would like to watch them:
Tae’s V Live on July 12, 2016.
And Jimin’s V Live on July 13, 2016.
Tumblr media
They win a major award for their Wings album in November and it’s obvious that they are very overwhelmed by it.
By the end of 2016 we get this chaotic December 15, 2016, V Live with the selfie Jungkook threatens to post to Twitter:
Tumblr media
We start off 2017 with this February 7 V Live amongst other things right around Jungkook’s high school graduation:
Tumblr media
And this cute V Live Twister game on February 13, 2017:
Tumblr media
And then we get this February 28, 2017 Run BTS ep. 12...I know it was “acting” in a skit but y’all...the rough play and then JK slinging Jimin over his shoulder and the butt slap... the heavy flirting that was supposedly “ad libbed” was just...beyond words... it was just all too easy for them. Jimin and Jungkook’s segment begins at 8:41. This is what I mean by “chemistry.” They have it:
Tumblr media
Their entire segment of that Run episode had me laughing so hard.
I’ve said before, I am pretty sure they crossed that line with each other at some point. Exactly when? We’ll never know but why wouldn’t they go with the flow and take that leap? Because they aren’t gay? Yeah, right.
Doesn’t matter if you are straight, gay, bi, or any other color/flavor of the rainbow... we know about sexual urges and libido and how the human body (and mind) works when one is horny. When and where though is really none of our business. We don’t know that. Regardless, I believe Something happened with a capital Sex with each other.  Alcohol may have been in the mix. I am not gonna venture much farther than that because I am talking about real people but when in the moment, you can get carried away even if you didn’t intend to. I think it’s possible this happened even if they are straight up straight. Which I don’t think they are. But sex is sex and it happened in some form.
And in THAT process, they acted upon/confirmed things they either already knew about themselves or revelations occurred. I think in Jimin’s case it could have been more of a revelation. He’s stated some things that make me think he wasn’t really being true to himself at first. Maybe there was a lot of conflict and rejection before there was acceptance....he has said things that make me think this. This phase of self-discovery started and eventually Jimin blossomed into the Jimin we know. Thank God and Jesus and Dionysus.
Disclaimer #1: I am not gay. Surprise, surprise. Though I do appreciate the naked human body of any gender but I suppose that could be my artist’s eye I see the world with. Does looking at a naked female body turn me on? Perhaps. What does that make me? It makes me a horndog just like these guys. I have no idea and I do not know what it’s like to be a young person who might be confused about their sexuality. I can only speculate. Anyway, this isn’t about me...I digress...but see my point?
Back to the topic at hand. That’s the beauty of me sitting here pondering after watching 35,320 hours of BTS content. Something happened, that’s all I know!
So here we are, late 2017. These two Busan boys debut together and are now doing stuff several years later that they probably never thought in a million years they would be doing. Things were snowballing from 2016 through 2017... gaining momentum, not just their careers but whatever it was happening between these two.
go to Part Three...

Tumblr media
I love how this conversation is bringing out the homophobia in y'all's eyes😌
'Yall are scared Jimin will stop looking like a submissive gay man if he builds muscles'
So y'all think Jimin looks like a submissive gay man without his muscles????????
Huh????
Isn't this the very thing I'm ranting over in these posts? That people think he looks gay and a sub/bottom and that he doesn't look like a real man because of the way he looks??
Isn't that why they are fixing him to look more masculine in these ads????
Y'all think him building muscles will change his sexual orientation if he is in deed gay and a sub???
There is nothing wrong with being gay or sub or bottom or whatever any gay queer person might be into. THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT! Omg!
Muscle building is not for men only.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is Namjoon's cousin. What about her makes her less feminine??????????????
Should she get longer nails? Bigger hoops? May be a Brazilian butt lift? Botox? Fillers? In order to look more traditionally feminine?
If she decides to stop working out or drink stuff to lose muscles so she can be seen as more feminine do y'all not think that would be ??? because she is feminine regardless?
Tumblr media
What about these women make them less feminine????? They build up too and they are women.
Jimin with or without muscles is still an androgynous man. Building muscles does not erase his androgynousity. That is Jimin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is an androgynous MAN not woman. Looking skinny is not what makes him androgynous. Putting on make up and wearing feminine clothes is not what makes him androgynous.
We've been calling him androgynous from day one when he debuted and it's not because he didn't have muscles. He had them in abundance. so I find it weird that you will think we gay people are worried he is leaning into his masculinity- when the question we are asking is WHAT AT ALL IS MASCULINITY?
Didn't he ask the same questions when he asked his band mates, man man man- what the heck is man- when they said men shouldn't wear rings on their pinkie?
That was an iconic moment and I wish I could write a dissertation on it. Super iconic.
Is he a sex icon? Absolutely. Is he a queer icon? Yes. But he is not a gay God. No body is looking up to him to liberate them from no damn queer oppression- love how you trivialize and make fun of LGBTQ issues.
Really sista? You had to go there? And you say you are a Jikook supporter?? Interesting.
I think Tae put it best when he said Jimin may look cute and pretty on the outside but when he takes off his clothes that's when you see he's more masculine. I think for some of us, we've always seen Jimin as very masculine in his expressions and very experimental in his expressions of femininity. I've always seen him as grounded in his masculinity than feminity- although he does suffer from toxic masculinity every now.
I'm simply saying this may be one of those times. Emphasis on may be. I'm over it. Just took note of it.
When it comes to exercising, the members have said he used to be the one who trained the hardest in dance rehearsals. Didn't RM say he and Jin used to look up to him and learn from him because he is well disciplined?
He's always exercised. Y'all think him flipping through the air and defying gravity comes from a lack of exercise?????
This is the few times he's talked about exercising as a social male bonding activity with his members and even encouraged Hobi to join them. If you think he will look more masculine climbing rocks and building muscles then you are part of the problem I am trying to address here.
Do y'all not watch Bon Voyage and Run and Winter package? Do y'all not see him "be manly" and "lean into his masculinity" in those contents? Did he not say he wanted to go do yoga with the others but chose instead to go to the brewery with Yoonkook?
Out of curiosity, let me ask- which is the two options was the least masculine activity? I'm genuinely curious.
And no, I am not uncomfortable seeing him lean into his masculinity. I am uncomfortable watching him straddle the line of toxic masculinity and it's not limited to him. I think I have expressed similar sentiments with regards to JK and RM and Suga and the rest.
And no. It's not toxic that he is exercising or wants to exercise. I question that he wants to build muscles and look a certain way as a man especially if that way is the only way he and y'all think a man should look like.
Tumblr media
I don't know about you but this looks pretty masculine and feminine to me.
Tumblr media
As does this. He can look like the incredible hulk and I'll still see him as androgynous.
Now don't get me started on his upper lips and BigHit constantly concealing his upper lips with make up. Don't get me started on that! 😡
They are always erasing and tweaking something when it comes to Jimin! Always! I HATE IT HERE.
Jimin is not the first androgynous man in Kpop nor is he the only androgynous man in kpop. He doesn't have to be gay or queer to participate in social discourse.
And I understand that queer and gender issues may not be of importance to y'all cis straight folks but it is important nonetheless and BTS have dabbled in the discussions and voiced out their opinions on it. They are advocates for the youth and that includes gay queer folks.
How many times have they talked about same love? That their BT21 characters are genderless, that clothing shouldn't be restricted to specific genders? Jk have said he hates oppression and Jimin talks about self love and acceptance for all- you think gay people are not included?
They don't have to be gay to be gay representatives and "Gay Gods." Heard of Allies?
And when you say BTS are human not representatives- you kidding right???
Tumblr media
Have you seen BTS issue statements on Black lives matter, on Racism and Asian hate crimes etc?
Yes, they human beings.... who care about other human beings and their oppressions. Y'all praise these men for wearing unisex brands and genderless fashion and praise them for when they voice out on certain issues... except when it comes to gay issues? I see y'all's colors.
Also you ship Jikook but it pisses you off that we say Jimin is gay??? 👀
Jimin gay. Jungkook gay. Jikook gay. Does this annoy you? 👀
They are fucking eachother. Do you wanna block me? 👀
JK fucks Jimin. Jimin fucks JK. Are you dead yet? 👀 Do you wanna kill me? 👀
I don't see them as straight honestly. If I did and I thought they were facing straight issues I'd be talking about those too. I see them as gay dealing with gay issues that we all deal with and I talk about that.
Credit to the artist. I think that photo of Jimin from On MV is one of my favorites.
I might have to frame it and hang it on my wall.
Don't have any hard feelings against you but I thought I would address certain problematic statements you made.
Love,
GOLDY

Namjoon's book recs list includes one of my favorite explicitly LGBTQA themed books ever called 'Confessions of a Mask'. Then there's Tae's love for CMBYN. They boys also put references to the film 'Moonlight' in a song. These small things always made me feel seen as a gay army tbh. It's this kind of casual support and acknowledgment that tells me they see and love everyone. I was blown away when Tae talked about CMBYN on live. He also publically supports the work of two openly gay photographers, one of whom is famous for nude and intimate imagery of his bf. Jungkook's 'I'm Still Me' tweet and it's timing with Namjoon's recccommending Troye's song from the Love, Simon soundtrack was once discussed a lot in Jikook blogs. It still holds a lot of water to me. The thing about BTS and LGBTQ support is that is comes off sometimes as indirect or requiring context to make sense. This doesn't to make it less valuable and powerful to me. And we have to consider that they are not working inside of the standards of North American liberalism. South Korea is very homophobic for a developed country with a G20 economy and there are complicated reasons for this.
YES. This exactly this. And I mention all these examples too in their individual rainbow moments posts too. And sometimes the little causal things can mean just as much as as blatant statements too. It's the normalized support that is important to. And the level of what a statement means or how big it is, that is relevant to the society, culture and country you are from. In Korea, things that might seem little or not enough globally, are huge indicators of support over there.
Plus BTS said Happy Pride in June during SoWooZoo 🤣 loved this stage so much

Thank you for sharing 💜

Do you think Jikook ever officially 'came out' to the members or the co. as a part of LGBTQ or/and as a couple?!
Or was it just somehow understood that yes, they have something going on?!
If they did do u think the members and co. were immediately supportive or they had clashes due to this?!
I've always thought that it was somehow understood for the rest of the members. I don't imagine Jungkook ever talking about it with any other member, not about his sexuality and not about Jimin. But if they're together, I can see Jimin telling Hoseok or Taehyung about his relationship with JK while the rest just picked up on it and probably asked them about it. I think they would've answered sincerely if they were asked about it, not really go out of their way to tell people about it. If they did voluntarily tell anyone apart from vhope, I think they would've told Namjoon because he's the leader and it's something he should know. (I'm using a general "they" as in they both agreed to tell them but Jimin actually did the talking lmao).
I have personally never understood why people think it would be necessary for them to tell the company. The company is for business only... BTS members are Jimin and Jungkook's family but bighit is not. I don't think their sexuality interferes with their job in any way. If anyone in the company knows, it's because they've figured it out or have suspicions about it (which, suspicious are not really facts) and not because Jimin and Jungkook ever made declarations about it. The managers are the ones who handle their schedules, who have the keys to their hotel rooms, who probably have access to the apartment complexes they live in, who even travel with them during their breaks, and all that. So I wouldn't be surprised if the managers "know", but again, only because they know private info about the members in general not because Jimin or Jungkook would ever be like, drop me off at Jimin's place tonight because we're boyfriends. After many "I'm staying at Jimin's/Jungkook's" I think anyone would find it suspicious. But still, it would be assumptions from the manager's end too since I don't think they would actually confirm anything to a manager.
I think it's naive and idealistic to believe that the staff or the executives at bighit/hybe would ever hear the words "we're gay and we're a couple" from jikook. It's unnecessary, and complicated and could be dangerous. And the biggest reason is that.. they're just private people in general. Even if they were dating women they still wouldn't say anything. Their make up artist or the film crew or even their MV directors really have absolutely no business knowing what BTS members do once they're home.
I don't think any of the members is homophobic but most likely some of them were wary of the situation, Namjoon more than anything. He just worries a lot and I think that he probably feels like every inconvenience is the end of the word lol he just seems that type of person. I remember also while they were filming ITS1 he said it's not good to be so close to each other, and that was around the time that Jimin and JK were probably staying together at home most of the time. It's too much speculation on my part but I've always wondered if that comment Namjoon did had anything to do with jikook, and I wouldn't be surprised if it did. I think Jin too could've worried in the same way Namjoon does/did but no real clashes beyond normal, understandable worry.

my faves said gay rights part 2 - BTS
For pride month this year I thought I would live up to my name and post about all the times my faves supported the lgbtq+ community! Now as there are so many examples of bts supporting us they are our part 2. I won't be including the gay things they've said or done (like the iconic yoongi cypher lyrics that you all know) because this is more about them showing support than them being lgbtq. Let us begin
1. Namjoon wrote a wlw song for the gg glam
Tumblr media
2. Namjoon recommended same love by macklemore and ryan lewis
Tumblr media
And when asked about this yoongi said "there's nothing wrong. Everyone is equal"
3. Taehyung saw a "lesbians love bts" sign at a concert and smiled and put his hand on his heart and mouthed thank you. Jin also smiled at a "lesbians love seokjin" flag
4. Namjoon watched and was impressed by the lesbian movie blue is the warmest colour
Tumblr media
5. Taehyung and jungkook have responded well to fanboys asking them out on dates
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6. Multiple members have worn pride clothing, like yoongi wearing pride vans shoes or taehyung wearing a pride NBA shirt or hoseok wearing a rainbow belt at the start of pride month
7. Taehyung and namjoon referenced the gay movie moonlight in 4 o'clock, a song they wrote together: "just like that movie, like the line from the movie, the entire world is blue inside the moonlight"
8. Namjoon read the book confessions of a mask, which is about a young gay man in japan
9. Taehyung is a fan of the gay movie call me by your name, he recommended it during a live and really likes the soundtrack
10. Namjoon and hoseok met a trans fan at a fansign and were just the best
Tumblr media
(and it seems like namjoon has kept the ryan plushie)
11. They made their bt21 characters gender neutral
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
12. Namjoon posted a screenshot of him listening to strawberries and cigarettes by troye sivan, a gay artist, from the love simon soundtrack, a gay movie. Jungkook is also known to be a big fan of troye sivan
Tumblr media
13. They've worked with, interacted with or are fans of with many queer artists including halsey, kim petras, mnek, ryan mcginley, sam smith, ante badzim, the internet, lil nas x, kehlani (and they particularly like her wlw song honey) etc
14. Namjoons un speech: "“no matter who you are, where you’re from, your skin color, gender identity, speak yourself”
15. All the times they have said fuck you to toxic masculinity, I couldn't possibly include them all here and if you're an army you can already think of an example. As a treat I will share my personal favourite, which is taehyung doing a drag competition at school
Okay I think that's everything but please let me know if I missed anything. Have a good pride fellow armys!! 🌈

One thing that is important to keep in mind is that all of these actions: the gcfs, the performances with arguable LGBTQ subtext, Kimmel HOME, Xmas Dynamite, LGO mv, BS dance, Dynamite mv backhug, the pretaped performance, the tattoo in a very prominent part of the body where it will be seen and speculated about and he knows it, ALL of these things are PUBLIC. Jimin and Jungkook are smart. They study media. They KNOW that every peice of art they create will be honoured with interpretations, and every mv will be analyzed. They engage with LGBTQ art on the regular (as do many other members. The film beautiful gay themed film, 'Moonlight' has been referenced in a BTS song. Troye Sivan's Blue Neighborhood trilogy, dealing explicitly with the experience of gay youth, was recommended and a song from it was covered. Taehyung read a monologue from CMBYN on live. Namjoon recommended the book 'Confessions of a Mask' by Yukio Mishima, which chronicles the experience of a gay man growing up amid pressures of rigid ideals of masculinity and militarism. And more! Beleive me, there are more). My point is that these young men are aware of LGBTQ art and media. In a society where LGBTQ people are not afforded the same rights and dignities as straight people, they have gone out of their way to signal support. They have referenced and engaged with queer art and LGBTQ artists.
Jungkook drew 'I'm Still Me', the iconic line from 'Love Simon' in stylized letters and tweeted it to his fans. 'Love Simon' is an LGBTQ coming of age film. He chose to tweet that. Those words were meaningful enough to him to be drawn and shown.
What they put in front of us is intentional. It may interpreted in various ways and through various sociocultural filters. But since when has speculating about some fairly consistent LGBTQ iconography and subtext been an insult? Should artists be offended when gay themes are invoked? Is that the take away here? Does gay interpretation besmirch art work? That is essentially the complaint, if you think about it.
OMG!
ALL THIS!!!!!! YES ANON!!!!

S/o is Bisexual
Anon asks: hello! can you do Bts reaction when they found out that oc is bisexual ?? ignore if ur uncomfortable. love ur fics btw 💕☺️
Thank you anon! As a Bi girl myself, I loved doing your requests.  💜
Seokjin
Jin is very mature about it. He loves that you felt comfortable and trusted him enough to tell him about your sexuality. He’s just as open and honest about it as you are. He wouldn’t really mind if you were bisexual and it wouldn’t change anything between the two of you.
Tumblr media
Yoongi
Yoongi really doesn’t care or have any preferences when it comes to others’ sexualities or gender identities. It’s just not something that he thinks should be a big deal, so he doesn’t make it a big deal. He’s open and accepting of you telling that you’re bisexual.
Tumblr media
Hoseok
Hobi, like all of the members, would be very open about it. He thinks all sexualities are normal therefore you're just as normal as everyone else to him. He’s your biggest supporter in everything, so if you ever feel invalidated or excluded for your sexuality, he would be there to comfort you. It’s a very comfortable conversation with him.
Tumblr media
Namjoon
Namjoon is very understanding and educated when you tell. He supports the LGBTQ+, you being Bisexual wouldn’t change a think about your relationship. He would hate to hear or see bi jokes or erasure, even more so when you tell him that you’re Bisexual.
Tumblr media
Jimin
Other than being understanding and supportive, Jimin would have silly doubts over why you were with him and not someone else? What if a wonderful lady comes by and sweeps you off your feet? Thankfully these are just silly little insecurities and he overcomes them easily. He loves you and knows you love him just as much.
Tumblr media
Taehyung
Taehyung loves you and his relationship with you, so when you tell him you’re Bisexual he wouldn’t care. He would be completely chill about it, taking it in and accepting it because it’s normal. He might be curious about it, asking if you had ever dated someone of the same sex, or who you knew you were Bisexual.
Tumblr media
Jungkook
Nothing would change when Jungkook found out you were Bisexual. He has no reason to make a big deal about it, being Bisexual is just as normal as being straight, gay, trans, etc. He asks questions about it, educates himself a bit more. But in the end, he loves you for you, and your sexuality is a part of you.

Coming out as Asexual. Maybe with BTS or TXT? Love your works btw
[Thank you so much, love. I apologise for the long wait. 💕🍑]

Cooking club
All boys would have different reactions.
Yoongi, as the respectable bean we know him, would absolutely make sure you know that he supports you to the fullest. He can be your safe space if your family doesn't understand.
Jimin would be very much happy about it. What attracted him to you wasn't the idea of having intercourse with you, so why would anything change. He loves how you're a fellow member of the lgbtq+ community.
Taehyung obviously sees you as a god/goddess and through your asexuality that belief will get strengthened. You are sin free, you are immune to one of the seven deadly sins. That's incredible to him.
Hoseok would support you, even if that destroys a small part of his future perfect life with you. But that can be easily overlooked. He understands that it's not a choice and still loves you.
As we know Namjoon, he is already educated about the topics of sexuality. He respects your preference and wouldn't dare to push you into anything you wouldn't like. Also one of your biggest supporters, you can lean on him as well.
Jeongguk would be baffled and confused at first. Since when? Why didn't you tell him? But he then notices how that meand you also wouldn't engage in any sexual activities with anyone else. So that's a win win for him. Plus he loves you no matter what, you're his childhood friend and his only friend.
Seokjin wouldn't know what it means but would still support you. It would take him a while to realise just what you said but afterwards he will make sure you know that he respects you. Also 10/10 will visit a pride parade with you and comment on how you're the two must beautiful people around.
Art club
These boys will be your biggest supporters. Not only will they all have an asexual pride flag but will also fight anyone who messes with you. I imagine that these little sun sprouts get worse and worse per year. So by the time they're graduating they will have killed dropkicked someone for talking about asexuality.
But in their baby years they will still try to copy your sexuality some how. They are not aware that that is very impossible and a big no no. In the end they all mean well but can be a bit extreme.
If you liked my work please reblog, thanks!

Do you think any of the bts members are part of the lgbtq+ community? I assume you think vmin are, what makes you think that? I kinda feel like jimin could be bi... while tae gay maybe? And Yoongi could be bi as well. Tbh they all kinda give off gay vibes, but I guess it's bc of the cultural difference and bc they are all so close... so they may do things that seem a lot to many people but not to them... so who knows? A lot could be fan service too. But Namjoon and Jin are the ones who definitely give me straight vibes (Jin a bit less tho). What do you think?
I think there might be members that are LGBT+, but of course that’s just based on how I percieve things. I apologize in advance for this answer being a bit messy... As you say there are many things that make such speculation difficult.
Honestly putting definite labels on someone is not something I really want to or think we can do... Sometimes the members do things that might indicate interest in various genders, but that’s still too vague to define a sexuality for me. Unless they say something themselves, I don’t think we can know.
I mean, even assuming someone you know is LGBT+ is gay, pan, bi etc. with a specific label without them having told you is so common and can even lead to mislabeling someone. One obvious example is how bi-erasure makes someone go from straight to being gay when they start dating someone of the same gender etc. There are so many types of sexualites and gender expressions to begin with. Some don’t even accociate with a label at all. For example I personally think Namjoon seems to be attracted to women, but even if that is a correct guess it doesn’t have to mean he is straight.
It’s very complicated, at least for me, to dive too deep into it with anything except “hunches or guesses” based on behavior and actions. This becomes even more complicated when we add difference in culture, idol fanservice, personal comfortableness with intimacy, level or homophobia or supportive people around them and personal experience etc.
BTS likely can’t even be honest with their sexualities if they are LGBT+ and that makes it even more difficult to know depending on if they even want to show that part of themselves or not. Internalized homobhobia can be very strong, even though I suspect BTS being more and more open towards LGBT+ might help if members are non straight. And we still don’t know anything about how their families or friends would react etc. Not to mention we know a lot of fans would hate them and leave them if they ever proved to definitely be non straight. So them hiding being LGBT is obviously going to make it more difficult to guess if any member might be LGBT+, if they on purpse try to not show it. For example saying some things are not for men to do, or being careful with how they come across. Something I personally think Jimin for example might have done more in the past, as he is aware how he can fit into a lot of stereotypes for what is “gay” or feminine. The same goes for Hobi who can be very flamboyant. And while these things can be an indication for sexuality or gender identity they don’t have to be. Especially not when idols even get encouraged at times to act or more “delicate or feminine” or do fanservice with the same sex etc. There are a lot of blurred lines, and those lines can be a bit fluid as well...
There are also soooo many colors of the rainbow that I don’t think it’s weird for a lot of idols to be part of the community in some ways, even if they might never openly be so. Some might also be allies, some might be curious or unsure about themselves and some might be in straight up denial as well.
So, I rather just guess if they might be LGBT+ than what exact label, because going in to detail is so personal and different from person to person.
I also want to say again, that “straight until proven otherwise” honestly needs to go away, and assuming someone is straight is a toxic way to assume sexuality. Not to mention it’s much more harmful to shut down conversations about them possibly being LGBT+ than mistaking a straight person for possibly LGBT+. A LGBT+ person might have no choice to hide (very likely in the case of idols), so showing we are open and supportive no matter what is what matters the most.
That being said I feel it’s very very likely at least some members are LGBTQ+ if not for anything else than comments like “when we don’t have boyfriends or girlfriends” from Namjoon and other moments like it, in combination with their support for the community. At the very least they are allies.
Personally the way some members involve themselves in LGBT+ culture in various ways I see as something to more likely happen when you are part of the community yourself and not just an ally. But BTS having the influence they have of course it could all also be meant to be inclusive and show support as they have for various causes. That’s why it all still remains uncertain.
I will make a more articulate section on Taehyung and Jimin’s possibly being LGBT+ in my bigger analysis. But I will try to summarize a little bit of my thoughts in this answer and hope that it all makes sense.
Big Hit in general and in particular Bang PD seem to be pretty open and LGBT+ friendly. Many concepts of Big Hit artists can have LGBT+ subtext. It’s not always explicit, but something many rainbow ARMY might pick up on, like the storyline between JK and Yoongi in the BU. For example reading Demian which the whole BST era is based on I personally see a lot of LGBT+ subtext in that book (which is then also fitting with other things we know about Hermann Hesse’s life). But a lot of people won’t pick up on it and we can’t know for sure because no one ever explicitly says it is meant to be LGBT+.
Many BTS members support LGBT+ artists, it doesn’t have to be because of them being LGBT+ but it wouldn’t be odd for them to search for representation and artists to relate to if they are LGBT+ themselves. Mostly we have seen Tae, Namjoon and JK being more “loud” witht their support for LGBT+ artists, songs, movies, books etc.
Namjoon, Tae and JK have all expressed support in various ways directly to LGBT+ fans that have showed up to fansites.
Members like Yoongi has straight up said it’s nothing wrong, everyone is equal, when Namjoon was a bit more “diplomatical” and tried to swerve the question a bit. Both could still be LGBT+, and both could be allies, even with very different reactions.
Tumblr media
I think all members have their moments to show LGBT+ support, and all members have “questionable moments” that makes people speculate about their sexualities. For me Tae, Namjoon, Yoongi and JK seem to be the most open about support or showing interesting in LGBT+ things. But that can also have to do with their personalities, or even feeling less scared to show support.  In some cases it might even be easier for an ally to speak up for someone LGBT+ when they can’t themselves, as in a closeting situation.
I know you asked about all members, but I want to be honest and say that while I do know a bit about all of them, I do know a lot more about some members than others. I am also kind of sitting here and aren’t sure I can say more than I think all of BTS are allies, and that it seems likely at least some members are LGBT+. I have seen small things from basically all members, but I haven’t seen enough to lean heavily towards any particular sexuality. So, while I am sharing my thoughts here they can sway back an forth a lot and can very much just be based on misinterpretation. It can also be difficult to put a definite reason to why I react more to some members doing similar things.
Based on actions alone, because I try not to bring in vibes, I guess the short summary would be:
Jin - Has talked the most about wanting a girlfriend, and while he has said things like his celeberity crush is Brad Pitt I haven’t seen a lot with him in regards to LGBT+. To me less likely to be LGBT+.
Yoongi - Has been very firm with being supportive of LGBT+ and has had both lyrics and interviews that could be interpreted as gender not being important to him in general. Doesn’t show a lot, but the things he does say seem very pointed and deliberate. To me more likely to be LGBT+.
Namjoon - Has been the loudest since the earliest with his support for LGBT+. Wrote LGBT+ lyrics for Glam but also very sexual lyrics about women in early songs. Has talked about queer culture a lot and while he seems careful at times has expressed a lot of open support. Enjoys a lot of queer culture and has recomended movies, songs and books. Has showed more personal interest towards women, but seem very interested in LGBT+. Definitely an ally, likely into women, but also very possibly into other genders. To me more somewhere “in the middle” or more likely LGBT+.
Hobi - Has done subtle things like wearing rainbow belts during pride, but seemed to start being more LGBT+ supportive when all of BTS did so. Could possibly be non straight or also just very comfortable with himself and an ally. (He has “effiminate or flamboyant” behavior but I don’t want to lean too much into that.) Buuuut he also accidentally said stuff like “boyfriend”. To me “somewhere in the middle”, or more likely to be LGBT+.
JK - Seem to avoid questions about women/crushes and sometimes even answering with men (Like Namjoon or Ironman). Is the most “feminine” according to members (though that was a while ago) and is very open to expressing things in a gender neutral way. The member who has said the least in regards to masculine stereotypes like “men should” and also one of the members who is the loudest about LGBT+ artists. Also having done covers by LGBT+ artists without changing pronouns. To me more likely to be LGBT+.
I am fully aware I just basically said I think almost all members are likely to be LGBT+. But I really try to just look at them as individuals. It’s also as I said much more difficult for me to be able to truly know their thoughts in regards to LGBT+ based on such limited information as the subject in itself is partly taboo. It’s also possible with such a close knit group that if some members are LGBT+ that will affect and make other members more open as well. Basically the way BTS express support doesn’t have to be personal for all of them.
However, despite it all I think Taehyung is the member who seems to be the “most loud” in a personal way when it comes to LGBT+ (and also Yoongi). For me it makes sense with their personalities and how they are outspoken in general for something they believe in. @romanticdrift recently answered an ask (HERE) with a lot of good points, and in particular when it comes to Taehyung’s possible sexuality. This is why I feel Jin who also is quite outspoken in general but haven’t talked a lot (at least not to my knowledge) about LGBT+ things feel more like an ally in comparison.
For me there are many things about Taehyung over the years I can’t help but think of when it comes to LGBT+ and have given me reason to wonder about Taehyung himself being part of the community. Especially when putting them all together it seems to be something important to him.
Talking about many things and people from queer culture. Not just enjoying them but sharing it with fans.
Singing songs like Stigma about being a sinner for something you can’t help or change. Many of Taehyung’s songs many LGBT+ fans relate to.
The reference to the gay movie “Moonlight” in a self written song, and most of Tae’s songs being gender neutrual. (All except Winter Bear).
The meaning of the color purple as the last color of the rainbow.
Saying “thank you” to fans with a pride flag at a concert.
Since early on having no problem with crossdressing or other things that might “look gay” (there are also moments where he has objected like “men don’t do...” as most BTS members have). But we also have things like randomly doing roleplay where he can’t be together with Jimin. I mention this because it wasn’t for a camera, but something Jin told us.
Talking about the reason for his Christmas song not being with Jimin. The fact that he highlighted the reason as the lyrics not fitting two men and going on to say he doesn’t think he will ever release it. To me this is probably the most personal example where Tae seems bothered about something homophobic.
Basically there is something in the way Taehyung expresses his support that just seem more personal, and more tied to himself. He isn’t just loud with support ike some other members, he expresses things like he relates to it more openly.
For Jimin I think he is more difficult with actual examples of openly supporting or expressing things LGBT+. And it’s difficult looking at him without going into gender norms and falling into sterotype traps as well. I do think Jimin has changed a lot and as many other members wear a lot more gender neutrual clothes etc. If I make this about Vmin I would even say Jimin’s image properly seemed to become a bit more “soft” around the time Taehyung gave him the Gucci sweater, which was gender neutral. Think more Jimin in sweater paws and soft oversized clothes.
Tumblr media
It could also be an image change as Spring Day era definitely brought a lot of softer Jimin. However, I want to emphasis here that Jimin still to this day has a lot of styles and outfits that are also very masculine. And that many other members also wear gender neutral clothes. Not to mention that clothes can express things without being tied to sexuality or gender of the person who wears them.
For me I think it can be even more ambigious with clothes only because often we don’t know if they decided the clothes or if it was a choice by a stylist etc. And we know most members have worn gender neutral clothes or womens clothes, especially for performances or photoshoots. So personal clothes I see as of more importance. For example Yoongi wearing very limited edition Pro-LGBTQ+ shoes as his personal clothes (HERE).
Back to Jimin... I personally see Jimin as a very aware and careful person when it comes to how he is percieved in general. Thus if he is LGBT+ I think he unlike Taehyung would likely be more careful. So, Jimin showing less directly LGBT+ support might be a choice out of acting careful. No matter if he is LGBT+ himself or not. But it does make things more vague. But he also painted the symbol of bigender on himself, so.
The things I have noted except for his image over the years are fewer than with many other members, and I try to not to put too much weight on his looks and manners and “vibes”, even if those things can be because of him being LGBT+.
Jimin has sometimes acted a bit defensive about his sexuality/masculinity, but he has never denied the possibility of him liking men despite getting asked.
Jimin is a member who has perhaps the most (together with Tae and Hobi) showed a liking for fanservice between members. (Doesn’t have to show his sexuality, but could also be a place where he gets to express something he usually can’t).
Lie is a song about not showing your true self and hurting/being punished. Jimin has been very vague when speaking of the meaning of the song. It’s a song many LGBT+ fans also relate to.
Jimin is a naturally flirty person, and the flirting doesn’t seem to be limited to one gender. But, it doesn’t have to be flirting based on attraction.
The bigender symbol in the hero photoshoot and the Filter performance playing with gender identity.
In general, there is just a lot less direct things when it comes to Jimin and LGBT+. Which doesn’t surprise me considering his personality. There are moments of course, like liking LGBT+ artists like Kehlani or reacting to pride flags at concerts. But at least to me there is a lot less to actually analyze when it comes to Jimin and LGBT+ moments and that makes things more difficult. So, to me Jimin is probably someone I am more unsure of, which might be surprising to some of you, especially considering this is a Vmin blog. But because of Jimin’s personality and early reactions/behavior I also am not at all surprised if he is more careful on purpose, especially if he is LGBT+.
Interesting to me as a Vmin shipper is also that quite a few of Taehyung’s LGBT+ things could possibly be related to Jimin. For example the line from “Moonlight” in 4 o’clock or Tae asking if Jimin can “be the girlfriend” while roleplaying. Not to mention the Christmas song of course. But I don’t want to use things from Taehyung to try and guess about Jimin. Basically looking at only them as individuals Jimin is less likely to be LGBT+ than Tae, but I do still think the chance of both of them being queer is there.
And if I then dive into Vmin's behavior with each other assuming they are both queer, that might show some interesting things too. But that will always be based on the IF, not as proof for their sexualites.
So, that was my view... I have been asked about this quite a few times, and I hope this post made sense. I know it was long and messy, but that’s also because sexuality can be such a difficult topic.
Thanks for the ask. If you enjoyed this and want to support me you can like, reblogg, comment or check out my Ko-Fi page: https://ko-fi.com/K3K43433H

I'm the anon who brought up the subject about Joon's support. The whole point was never say who recommended more gay songs, about his sexuality or he having the maknae's line attention of objeticfying them. It's just very weird to me how everyone ignores him, but when certain topics about Joon surfaces, they are already ready to jump on. Like just implying with jokes that he might be lgbt. For people who ignores his openly support or attack him for no reason they are very defensive about that and it's honestly very weird to me 🤨 I know he is not the most popular and he doesn't need armys crumbs at this point, it's just the hypocrisy that bothers me, they don't care about joon, or his support, are just worried about shipps but are already ready to be homophobic because they don't a little implying???
I wish Joon wouldn't be treated like that, he doesn't deserve this shit of people (and obviously maknae's line doesn't deserve the shit they get too)
I feel like we're going around in circles. The "gay songs" comment I made was to anon saying that Namjoon is the most supportive BTS member regarding LGBTQ issues. I personally don't think any of them have said anything more than vague about it and that people with a fraction of their influence have done more. I'm not judging BTS for it, I don't know what constraints they have but it's really hard for me to say they've been "openly" supportive because most of the times it's just fans running with certain narratives and theories.
People get super defensive about the maknae lines' "straightness" too, anon. Namjoon is not a unique victim in that regard. It is because most fans are hypocritical and homophobic, I agree with you there.
