I ask about public infrastructure that he cannot avoid using, like ROADS. he yells and genuinely has a FIT. Yknow What. Im just glad they did it. Im glad that Neil Gaiman didn’t just imply they’re in love, didn’t leave any room for subtext or any room for people to say it’s just queers reading into things. And he didn’t wait until the very last second either, when season three was done, like he damn well could have. Season two could have ended the exact same way, just remove the Nina + Maggie conversation with Crowley, and remove the kiss, and it would have still had an emotional impact. You know why? Cause they’re still in love. The kiss will never change that, wether it had or hadn’t happened, because not everyone expresses love that way or even wants to express it that way. But it’s important that it’s there, because now, nobody, NOBODY, can deny it. There was always going to be that percentage of people who would say Aziraphale and Crowley aren’t in love, that they never did something like kiss or whatever. Because those people don’t understand there doesn’t need to be. I feel the kiss was well done because it was out of desperation to convince Aziraphale to stay, and was a way to manifest 6000 years emotions into a physical way to show it, which I understand is the main reason Neil wrote it in. Because it made sense with the writing flow, because it would help add to the emotional devastation of the audience, and it would just…fit. But it was also, in my opinion, a huge “Fuck you, you can fuck off” to the (mostly) homophobic people who still for whatever reason watched the show and got pissed at people for “reaching”. In the end of the day, I’m just glad we got that. Male presenting, Agender, Asexual beings being canonically in love with absolutely no room for bullshit like that. The kiss was not necessary, it didn’t really prove anything to those who were actually watching the show, and it was beautifully placed in the story and it’s not forced or bad or anything, but it still wasn’t explicitly necessary. I’m just glad Neil did it anyway.
