Simon/Simone: They definitely will miss their significant other easily. When they're not around them, they're worrying. They lead dangerous lives and it's easier for them to deal with it when they're in charge because it's their job to keep their team safe. So, they're going to be pacing a little more, scowling intermittently, and a bit sharp in their orders. They'll eventually decide on distracting themselves with a good book, playing chess, training... Anything to stimulate the mind so it isn't being stimulated by you.

Rain: Rain's pretty carefree, so it'll take a bit longer for them to feel your absence. But eventually, the absence of security they find in you when you're around will start to fester somewhat. They start missing the little things first. Like the confidence your smile instils in them, or how subconsciously swap sides with them when you're walking so you're closer to the road. Then, Rain's going to start moping, which is a rare enough sight on its own, haha.

Taj: Taj will absolutely deny it, but they will absolutely miss the MC. When they're in an established relationship anyway, haha. If possible, Taj's moods become even more sour in the player's absence. You damn well better not be off enjoying yourself without them because they're going to hold it against you, haha.

Nazu/Naera: Not at first. They might flippantly ask one of the other's where you are so as not to come across as caring about the answer. Then, shrug and walk away because they absolutely do not care. All whilst tapping their foot, staring out the window, and looking at the clock. They don't care. They really don't.

Umbra: Yes, lol. Umbra is going to be the most obvious with this. Umbra will absolutely drive everyone else to madness with incessant questions about where you are, if you're safe, whether you took a weapon of some kind, etc... Then, when they run out of questions, they're going to start muttering to themself about whether you're actually safe, whether you actually have something to defend yourself with... You could be having dinner with your best friend, and they're going to have the same level of concern.

I realized something hilarious the other day about my Eleazar!Cyno au. So obviously, Cyno isn't going to take part in the Archon Quest. I've planned around this! The reader won't see all of what happens because the next section is from Tighnari's pov and he's, erm, distracted at the moment, but I know how it goes down.

The funny thing is after, because Alhaitham is serving as interim Grand Sage-- this is still true in my au. But in canon, he has Cyno working as General Mahamatra. Considering Cyno is preoccupied, it means the matra have no leader.

The Sages had a short list of candidates for when if Cyno died, but considering nobody trusted by the Sages is trusted by Alhaitham or Nahida, anybody on the short list is decidedly off it, pending investigation. None of the matra want it-- they're waiting on news about Cyno, and it feels disrespectful to take his position. Taj Radkani is the only person the matra as a whole will accept, but Taj refuses to leave Cyno's side. Nobody outside of the matra wants it because the Akademiya is a shit show.

The upside is that Cyno's direct subordinates have been stealing work off his desk and delegating amongst themselves for months to reduce his workload. They're actually functioning really well compared to everyone else! The downside is that Alhaitham needs somebody to sign the paperwork, and he can't accept Cyno's forged signature, no matter how good a few of them have gotten at doing it.

It was no surprise when Wong fell hard and he fell fast. Utterly smitten with Stephen Strange, the obnoxious American with a heart of gold, who was soon his boyfriend. And who was sometimes his girlfriend, sometimes just his partner, and sometimes nothing at all.

Let's pick the Last of Us because I know that shit by heart.

In this world, Jada would be the leader of a ruthless group of hunters run by herself and her twin brother. They'd rob and steal any resources they could from innocent, unsuspecting people and then leave them as slaves if they can prove their usefulness, otherwise they'd be killed or left for the infected.

Wren would be a simple civilian born in the protected towns. I think she'd survive solely because she listens to her father 100% and he wouldn't allow her to leave and she's happy and content with what she has at her disposal, especially if it's a town like TLOU 2 with dances, infrastructure, etc. I do know that if infected did get into her town, she wouldn't be able to outrun them and if hunters got in to loot/steal from the town, she probably wouldn't survive either.

Remi would be in the same town as Wren and again, be happy with her simple life. She'd work, but it would be a simple job like bartender or something because she will not get dirty or do manual labor. She probably would sell someone out to save herself.

Lastly, we have Taj. There is a 50/50 chance that he would make it out alive. He isn't the smartest, but he's incredibly kindhearted and approachable. He'd be on a smuggling team with his best friends, Leo and Musa, but I see Taj getting into a fight and his mask breaking, letting in spores or getting bitten and under rubble like the man at the beginning of the game. He'd be sorely missed.

Cool. There’s nothing surprising to me about that. Maybe it’s a lead to a subunit everyone has been waiting for.

What I will say, though—and this also makes up a minimal fraction (among other things) why Jikook remains a theory and nothing truly concrete—is that for all Taehyung and Jimin reference Jungkook a lot, they rarely (if ever) talk about one another these days. Which is very strange, considering their situation. It’s not like Taehyung and Jimin are required to be butt buddies outside of work to be considered close, but given how much overlap they would have because of Jungkook alone, the theories that Taekook and Jikook are an item but seemingly have no overlap with one another at all doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

What I specifically mean by this is that if Jikook were a couple, the frequency with which Taekook have spent time together should involve Jimin in some capacity—especially because they’ve also grown up in the same group together. The same applies to Taekook.

I only give Jikook a free pass as much as I do because neither have openly denounced shipping, and they’re not associated with other people enough to deny it outright.

As it currently stands, Taehyung being at Jungkook’s house doesn’t really mean anything (to me) other than a possible collaboration in the works, or Taehyung and Jungkook doing things that regular friends do.

Taj, I can see growing facial hair in the future as he matures, but I don't think he's reached that stage in his journey yet, lol. Not that I'm saying he is young exactly (he's 27) but he lacks emotional maturity.

Nazu does have facial hair, but very trimmed.

I also can't imagine Umbra with facial hair either.

You can hardly understand why an alpha werewolf would demean themselves to such a degree, all in order to see you smile again.

In wolf form, Ta is a dark shadow of their former self. Long grey fur and amber eyes. Their muzzle is large enough to give you to pause before reaching out to touch them. One bite and Ta could take your entire arm off. It was hard to believe such a dangerous person was now enticing you with pets.

You run a curious hand over the top of Ta's head and they lean into the contact, nuzzling you like an oversized puppy before lowering themselves to the ground, and rolling around on their back. Kicking out their enormous paws, they seem to be encouraging you to pet their belly.

Laughing at how ridiculous this, you give into what they are asking, running light fingers toward their belly and rubbing gently.

A sound from behind you causes you both to freeze. Ta jumps to attention as you turn to look over your shoulder.

Tr is standing there, watching the two of you with a look of horror. "What the hell are you doing?"

"Nothing," you murmur, darting your eyes toward the ground. "Ta just had something in their fur. I was just brushing it out."

Tr doesn't buy it, you know it after the words leave your mouth.

"Uh huh," is all Tr says before walking off.
